Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 297- Host (2020)

Episode Date: September 7, 2020

In this week's episode, we lean hard into the pandemic and manage to make a 50 minute episode about a 56 minute movie which, my friends, is absolutely a skill we should put on our LinkedIn profiles. W...e're talking about the 2020 film "Host" and some special topics for your consideration include: whether we would or would not seance, revisiting hard drinking again only to feel awful, the trials and tribulations of Zoom, trying to remember the film "Unfriended" and our trash memories striking again.  If you enjoy films that take place on the internet, you may enjoy Episode 48- "Unfriended." If you like charming British women, you could do much worse than Episode 116- "The Descent." Hey, we have a Patreon AND our first action movie episode is already out! Starting point is 00:00:00 Kee, Alen, what? Are you? What? What? Can, are you? I'm sorry. Is this zoom call? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:00:14 We're doing it. Alen. Kah K. K. I don't know. We're doing it. What? What? Can't? Are you? I'm sorry. Is this zoom call?
Starting point is 00:00:26 I don't know we're doing it. Alan. Katie? Alan. Alan, are you there? Seance? Did you get in touch with the seance lady? Would you do a seance?
Starting point is 00:00:36 Period. Would you do a seance? Period? Question mark, I guess. For getting technical. Um, oh man, it depends on who asked me. Yeah. Like if you were like, hey, I'd like to do a seance for my birthday, you, yeah, of course. Ew, would you? Oh, yeah. Oh, fuck. I'm going to make you do a seance for my birthday.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Would you do a seance over Zoom? Probably even more so. Yeah. Probably even more so. Yeah, thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th thi. thi. th thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, th th th th th th th thi thi, th thi. Yeah, thi thi the thea to to to to to know. Well, fine. It just seems like the saunce person is a scam if they're doing them over Zoom. Don't you think? For sure. That's insane. That's banana. She also didn't seem like she was a hundred percent sure about what she was doing. She was a lot of liability in this. You know? She doesn't tell them the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their. Oh. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, their, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, the the the the the the ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttoy. I t lot of liability in this. You know, she doesn't tell them, let's tell them what we're doing. What are we doing? We're doing the 2020 film host. Host. Host, not the mid-2000s Korean movie, The Host. Correct. This is about zoom. Yeah, it's pandemics. As far as I kids I kids the first pandemic movie? Wow, that's like being the New Year's baby. Yeah, you gotta your supply of diapers. I mean there's probably been like six like superhero movies that have come out but I just don't know about them. It's 55 minutes long. Oh God bless it. It takes place entirely on Zoom. Yeah. And it's six women? Five women one dude. Five women one dude, having a Zoom call where they're doing a seance with a professional
Starting point is 00:02:05 seancean. I guess she is the six woman, you're right, you're right. Okay, right, right, right. But, but, five friends, five female friends. Good Lord, why am I having such power to talk with the matter? Dude, a saunce, scammer. But it turns out not to be a scam. No, all too real. Yeah. A lot of thudding in this movie, a lot of thudding in last week's movie. They are very similar films. Yeah. Yeah. And this is also very similar to a movie we've already done.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Unfriended. So, oh, I want to get to that at the end. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So they're on Zoom. they're on Zoom. they. they. they're they're they. they're. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. thea. theu. theuuu. theuu. theuu. theuuu. theu. to tell me? You want to tell? Why don't you just uh? So we've got Haley. Yeah. Haley is the uptight one who's setting up the sauns. And apparently the only American? For sure. Okay. I definitely the first time I watched this thought everybody else was Australian. Totally filmed. Yeah. They're British. Yeah. They're British. Yeah. They's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the up is the up is the up is the up is the up is is the up is is the up is is the up is the up is is the up is the up. Is is the up. Is is the up. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the up. the the the up. the the the the, oh, she's like from Melvin. Melvin. Yeah. So there's Haley, there's Jemma who's the Wise Crackin one. Yeah. There's Emma who's like the. Baby Spice. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:14 100%? Well, thank you. There's. not think of it any other way now. British people. God I wish this movie was just the Spice Girls having a thing on some zoom. Oh wow I would love that. Can we do Spice World at some point? On our action movie podcast for sure. That's an action movie right? For sure. Yeah. There's action in it. The Radina who is the Living Uncomforably one. Yes. and... She's gorgeous. She's like one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen. I really feel that way, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I feel like this is definitely one of those movies are like, so every one of your friends? Yeah, well, I think when you're beautiful you have beautiful oh, okay. I don't know, just kidding, my friends are beautiful, I'm the ugly one. But I'm the funny one, so it works out. Uh, and that's Caroline. Caroline, who is the Mousy Scared One of Everything one. Yeah. Who lives with their dad? Dad's adorable. Who's actually her dad? Oh really? That actor was the actor? Oh, I love that. Oh, he was so cute. Because all the movie was all filmed in their homes, I believe.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Oh man, because I was really judging some of their decor choices. But I guess, that's their real choices. I might be wrong. But there's definitely like, because there had to be to be crew going and setting out a lot of the stuff up. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. th. that. that. that. Sure. that. that. that. that. that. that. Yeah. that. that. Yeah. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that makes. that that makes. that that makes. that that that that that that. Yeah. Yeah. that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I that. I that. I that. I that. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. th. that. that. I that. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th like the idea of like, Dad, I'm going to do a movie. Do you want to play my dad in this movie? He was like, yeah, can I pull my shirt up? And she's like, I guess. Did you like the trouble, shuffle or something? He's so cute. And Teddy, who is living with his girlfriend Ginny, during the pandemic. It's like enter Ginny, en, jinn, yeah, and jinn, and jinn, and double, and double, and double, and double, and double, and double, and double, yeah, yeah, and double, yeah, yeah, and double, yeah, yeah, yeah, and double, yeah, yeah, and double, yeah, yeah, and double, yeah, and double, yeah, and double, yeah, and double, and double, yeah, and double, yeah, and the, yeah, yeah, and the, and the, and exit, Jenny? Yeah. And then we've got the, the, the, first of all, she says, we're going to do this tonight, but it's 114 p.m. when she signs on, and then all of a sudden it's nighttime, and it's a 40 minute call.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Uh-huh. That's just a little bit of continuity that bothers me there. It just bothers me a little bit. Because it is day as fuck- the th on her window and is like, hey, let me into the call. And then the call starts and it's night time. But during the call, they all keep saying, are you ready for tonight? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Making it sound like they're going to get together again later, but this is tonight. Okay. Anyway, the technological stuff was really stressing me out. Just like how like They couldn't hear each other and Jemma was on there twice and then like They're both on their phones and like one looks up and then looks down the other looks up and then looks down. Yeah. Just stressing me out. And I mean the reason we're recording on my porch is because those zoom calls that on my porch is because those zoom calls that we were doing to try and record were so fucking stressful. So fucking stressful we cut out all the time. Yeah. My internet wouldn't work. It was just yeah it was bonkers. I've stopped running games via zoom because I
Starting point is 00:06:20 the last time I tried to do Kithulu via Zoom, it ended with me literally in tears. Oh no. Because I couldn't see or hear my players. And then I would be like, is anybody there? And then they all say like, oh we're here, you're fine for us? And I'd hear them and then it would just like drop again. Yeah. And I was like, I're all just going to drink, okay? We're all just going to drink instead, which is what we did. It was fine.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. Fuck zoom. I feel like we're living in that time of like, we are all the camel's back and there is just a straw. Yeah. It's absolutely true.
Starting point is 00:07:02 And that technological shit, like at the best of time, stresses me out. Totally. So yeah. When it's your only lifeline to the outside world, it is brutal. So which is I think a genius idea to do a horror movie in this format because you're like pre-stressed. Absolutely. Because it just, you know, I wish I had watched it on a laptop. I watched it on the TV toy toy toy toy th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. When it's thi. When it's thi. When it's th. When it's th. When it's th. When it's th. When it's th. When it's th. th. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's, th. Yeah. Yeah. It's, th. Yeah. Yeah. It's, th. It's, th. I th. I's, thi. I's, thee. I's thea. I's thea. I's thea. I's thi. I's thi. I thi. I thi. I on a laptop. I watched it, I watched it on the TV, put it on the TV. Is that a King of the Hill reference? Damn it, Bobby. But, propane, propane accessories? But, propane, propane accessories?
Starting point is 00:07:40 I'd never seen an episode of King of the Hill. I feel like it. I love everything Mike Judge Judge judges, honestly. Do you enjoy the ancillary characters on Beavis and Butthead? Everybody who isn't Beavis and Butthead. Yeah. They're on King of the Hill, basically. Did the judge do Dariah too or was that a different crew? I don't know. It's a spin-off of. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, th. Do, it's, it's, it's, th. Do th. Do th. Do, I th. Do, I their, I their, I th. Do, I th. Do, I's, I's, I's, it, it, it, it's, it's, it's. Do. Do. Do, it's, it's, it's, it's. Do. Do. Do. Do, it's th. Do. Do, it's th. Do, it's the their. Do, it's their-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I-I's thrue. Doe. Do thrue. Do thii. Do thea. Do thi. Do thi. Do thea. Do thi. Do thi. Do th he was in butthead. Man, Dariah was like my Bible in high school. Can you imagine me? Yeah. Yeah. Oh man. I used to regularly say I don't have low self-esteem. I just have low esteem for everybody else. But as it turns out I actually have crushingly low self-esteem. So I'm sure Dariya does too. Yeah. Well, well. Well, so I put them on the TV. But it was like, you know, you just get that full-screen zoom call and like I guess they partnered with
Starting point is 00:08:36 zoom to do it but I love the like I've never used free zoom but there's like a little countdown clock that tells you how long your call is going for which is a genius thing for a movie as well because you're like, oh, oh shit. Yeah. When it has the pop-up at the end, you're like six seconds. Yeah, so you know it's happening and you're still fucking scary. Yeah, for sure. It's fun. It's really fun. Yeah. There were points at which I was actually trying also watched this on my TV, not even on my computer, but I had my Roku remote in my hand and I was like, wait, how do I hit? Can I share my screen with these people? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Oh, God, it is stressful. Like, I feel like this movie would not, like, this movie would not, like, not going to hit them, the way it's hitting us at all. Or if this movie had come out seven months ago. Yeah, I think it would just be totally unenjoyable, yeah. Yeah. It would be unfriended. So do you think if we watched unfriended now we would like it? No. No. I'm going to say that like 20-something British women are so much more to-a-mah-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s, th-s, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I thi-s, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s, I th-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s, I thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomomoma, I thooo sure. Yeah, for sure. That was one thing I wanted to bring up with you was like, why did, because I assume you liked this movie? And I, I did. I did. I did. I did. I also really liked it. And I thought to myself, like, what is the difference
Starting point is 00:09:56 between this and unfriended? Like, why we fucking hated unfriended? Yeah, I think thosethose kids were wholly unlikable. Yeah. These people seem like legit actors? They did, yeah, that's true. That came through a lot more, maybe it was direction or something. It was just, it felt like a higher, it, my comparison would be this is Unfriended's cooler, older sister. Cool, yeah. This is like the one who's got their shit together and you like want to listen to that band that she's listening to. Should we re-watch unfriended and see if we appreciate it anymore now? I don't want to do that.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I'm not doing it anyway. I'm sure there's an unfriended too we could watch. Still, still not on the friend list. I'll also tell you something I super dislike. Yeah, the face filter. Yeah, the face filter. Thank you. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I that. I that. I to to that. I that. I to to to to to to to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do do do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that. I that th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I that that th. I'm that. I'm not the the. I the. I'm not the. I'm not the. I'm not to to to to the. I'm not the. I'm not the use of the what do you, the zoom, like the face filter? Yeah, the face filter, thank you. Did you like that when she was like laying and crying? That was really... And the snake's tongue, blah, blah, it's really funny. It's terrible and funny. But I like when, you know, like that was a good setup of that of where she like, this is going to be us later, ra-ah-rah. And like, and she was the scary pig and like, but then, so when that comes back later and you're like, oh fuck.
Starting point is 00:11:09 It is upsetting. That's very, like, I'd be mad if I was on a zoom call and all of a sudden there was a face next to me. Yeah. Yeah. I would not try try try try try try try to to try try to try to try to to try to to try to to to to try to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to that that that that that that that that to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be tho tho tho tho. tho. thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. the thooooooooooooo. And too. And too. And living room. No, I throw things at it for sure. Yeah. Just pick up shoes and start going. Just like a lepercon.
Starting point is 00:11:28 I didn't think I'm keeping all these books around. I'm going to chuck of it somebody. I'm not reading them. Oh, they all the tiny machete. I just got the like, leopar. Got a shun, that's way too. You're going to be there a while. So they get on to the, like everyone's nervous except for Haley because she's done this before. So Haley likes seances. Yeah, that's your thing.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Okay. She has like a woman. It's like the woman who cuts her hair. You know what I mean? It's her seance woman. Then. Fuck ya'a'quad quads! Fuck ya'a'a'quad. Dirt bike no headlights, come on, buddy. It's up City Street. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:18 It's so weird. Yeah. But I think it like it fits very much in the time as well because I feel like everyone's into astrology and tarot cards and witchy shit. So like, seance stuff makes sense that you be like, yeah, let's have a tomorrow, say, let's do this. I feel like I'm missing out by not understanding any of that. Yeah, I have a lot of unpopular opinions on that stuff we what's the the seance ladies name like Selwyn
Starting point is 00:12:45 Salon or salon yeah it's great something squattish I think and she's like oh I've never done this on zoom either so it's gonna be a first time for all of us like why would you agree to do a sayons on zoom if you're her and you're like legitimate you know I don't are they paying her I would assume so it seems like it's her business but she also got to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food food to to to to to the to their to their their their to their to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. I. know. Are they paying her? I would assume they're paying her. It seems like it's her business. But she also got food delivered in the middle of the call. That's so funny. Because also, we're all getting food delivery all the time.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Yeah. I like that she was like, oh, it was supposed to come beforehand. But didn't like, didn't mention ell them a lot of things. Like, she really should have forewarned them about the dangers of seances because apparently they're very dangerous. I also have a lot of questions, because they had to bring an item that was particular to them. But that didn't seem to be a, it was like of someone who's passed that you may want to talk to,
Starting point is 00:13:46 but you're probably just gonna get like some random. Yeah. So I'm like, well, I was like, oh, what's redone's chest piece all about? Like what's going on there? What does Jemma have? Because she's not showing anything. But it sounded like she was trying to get in tou-
Starting point is 00:14:03 grandparents right right but they didn't speak the same language and but in the astral plane take a shot I took shots over the weekend oh no the first time in years oh no least like six years how'd that go oh I threw up I was terrible shots shots shots shots shots shot shot shot yeah yeah I'm Yep. I'm 36. Oh man, hard drinking is a young man's game. It is, but sometimes I just have to get into it, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's always that time where I've had like two beers and I'm like, third beer's a good idea.
Starting point is 00:14:41 I have a third beer and I was like that was a great idea. Fourth beer is gonna rule. Fourth beer does not rule, fourth beer is bad. I mean... The next morning I'm like, oh fourth there was a real bad idea. I thought about bringing over my spaghetti sauce jar full of wine tonight so then I remembered you weren't drinking and I was like, that's not gonna be mommy's wine jar on the side of it. Yeah, you know. To be fair, I've been heavy drinking for much longer than I've had a child. I don't like that mommy needs wine thing because I do think it normalizes alcoholism amongst a depressed population.
Starting point is 00:15:17 For sure. But, for sure. I've been, please, I've been depressed and drinking forever. I'm just now also a mother. I'm doing great. I'm doing great. Genuinely I am. I think you're amazing. I think I'm doing great.
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yeah, so do I. So, they get out. Oh, and Teddy is going to be on this call as well, which is all very excited about, because Teddy's like the party guy. He's the party guy, and it seems th, and it's th, and it's th, and it's th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th th th th th th thi, I thi, I' thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I've thi, I' thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th. I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I thi, I thi, I' thi, I'm thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi. thi. thi, thi all very excited about, because Teddy's like the party guy. He's the party guy, and it seems like he's been recently taken from them by a new girlfriend called Ginny. Jenny, who no one likes. No one likes. Yeah, probably because she's rich, seemingly.
Starting point is 00:15:52 Yeah, and kind of an asshole. I guess, yeah. Oh yeah, she does come and though. Yeah, but it seems like Caroline is into Teddy. Yes, I got that vibe. Which is sad because Teddy doesn't actually seem like that great. That's right because someone's like, hey Teddy's gonna be here. Is that okay to Caroline? Which made me think they like maybe had history. Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh, Caroline. Oh, Caroline. Poor Caroline. I have the phrase poor Caroline in my notes like 16 times. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's th. She's th. She's th. Because her eyebrows are heading towards her hairline at a
Starting point is 00:16:36 velocity that's unexpected and you're just like, Caroline it's gonna be fine. I also felt like Caroline should have just been excused from this one. You know, like it's like gym class, like when you have your period, you should just get to be excused. You know, everybody knows you're not up for it and they know why and they're just not going to talk about it. Yeah. Yeah. It's like waiting to your partners, going to to the their the their to go to go to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be..... to be to be their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their have sat this one out. So they get the saunce going, Teddy Lee's pretty early on. Right, Ginny comes and just shuts his computer. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Oh, and he's also shown that he has a spooky music box from his grandma, and he's always hated it, his brother tortured him with it. And he also has a spooky clown marionette. Yes, and he's he'spe as like a fog machine effect, which I thought was very, very, very funny. I enjoyed that a lot. The vaping gentleman with a top knot that everyone loves to hate, but he's like so,
Starting point is 00:17:35 he is really affable. He is, he's very jolly. He's definitely your friend that's gonna break something when he comes over you're like, ah fucking ted. Teddy Teddy, come on Come on Ted, Teddy so they start the seance and Gemma acts like something has touched her neck and then she says the pressure on her neck is unbearable. Yeah, she knocks it out of the park when she's being a fucking liar. She does. Yeah, which is you're right. That's a good thing that they got good actors for th. the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. t. te. tod toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. tod Yeah. Which is, you're right, that's a good thing that they got good actors for this. For sure. Like, capable actors. Right, because she was like crying.
Starting point is 00:18:09 Yeah. And he tells the story about Jack, who was this boy who was once nice to her that hung himself when she was in high school. High school, I guess. Yeah. And you're like like, like, like, like, like, like, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, damn, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, that, th. th. Yeah, she's like, she's like, th. Yeah, she's like, she's like, she's like, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, that's, that's, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, th. th. th. th. thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, thi's like, damn, that's fucked up. Is that when, oh, Salon gets the knock? They hear like the knocking and she runs away? Yes. I think so.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Yeah. And so, because you're already like spooked and then there's a knocking. Right, right. And they all, oh, and then Salon's internet gets knocked down. That's I was going gonna say, I think she might have fallen off the call and then gotten back on. Right. But there's this one great little scene where when Salon gets knocked off the call, they're all like, well, I'm gonna go take a pee break.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Yeah. And everybody gets up and something comes over and blows out Jemma's candle. And there was a green Jemma's screen. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that a lot. Yeah. Because it just looks like your camera lens is catching the candle flicker. Right. But it's like the fact that it moves around to them is really good.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Very good. And it's subtle too. Like, it's a blink and you miss it. Yeah. And I love that Jemma just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. thi thi. thi. thi. the the the thi. the the. the. the. the. the. thi. the. the. that that that that that that that thi comes back and sits down and re-lights her candle. Yeah, because you wouldn't. You're like, oh, my candle blew out. I'd be like, who fucking blew this out? Because I'm always looking for a finger to point. So now they're talking, I guess maybe Selen doesn't get back on.
Starting point is 00:19:34 She doesn't. She doesn't. Yeah, they eventually have to call it. pulled back really hard, which I thought was very scary. Yeah. Because it's pulled away from the screen, away from her her camera. Right. And she just like picks it up and waves it around. Yeah. And I was like, I have that IKEA chair. I do. And there's also like there's a good Hell House LLC moment in Jemma's background you see a flash of someone hanging behind her. There's like a male body hung behind her. I must have missed that. Wow, okay. And then... That's right, there's feet. Oh no wait, maybe that's that's later. That's in Carolines. So they, they,
Starting point is 00:20:15 Haley gets pulled and she's freaking out and like is going around her house, looking for stuff. And then there's a thumping that they hear. Yeah. A thudding, they. And they. they. they. they. they. they. they. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, the, the, their, their, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I's, th. I's, th. I's, th. I's, they. I's, they. I's, they. I's, they. I's, they, they. I's, they. I's, the, the, the, they. I's, the, the, th. I must, th. I's then there's a thumping that they hear, a thudding I guess, and they come back and Haley's like that's not in my house. Yeah. And Caroline realizes it's coming from her house. That's so scary. Yeah. She's so scared. Why didn't she call for her dad? I don't know. Why doesn't anybody call her dad at any point? Because she's like the first one to really like go missing? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah...... th... th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. the, like, like, that, that, that, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. And the the the thi. And the thi. And thi. And the th missing. Yeah. We've also seen that she has this zoom background that she's recorded of a video of herself walking into the room like going over to her dresser, pulling out a hair brush, brushing her hair and then like walking back into the bathroom. Which is... Yeah, yeah. You're like, when they introduce that to you, you're like, no, Caroline. We we, we the, we the, we the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, to, to, to, to, to, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, to... No, to.. No, to.. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to, we find out that Togashi has five kids.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Right, right, right, right. And if you like jokes like that, um... That was good. You should do it. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:21:22 But yeah, so she is like, she hears the noise in her attic. She doesn't call a dad, are you doing something out there? No, she never goes to look for him. Call out for your dear old dad to make sure that it's one, not just him puttering around. And two, that he's not having a stroke. Because that man is a putter and I've ever seen a putter. He's a putter, he's a putterer. We didn't even have to see him move to know he's a putter. Yeah, no, no. He troubleshuffled. So she pulls down a ladder from the attic and she starts like clying up and she's like, hmm, hold on and goes and gets a fucking
Starting point is 00:21:51 selfie stick. Caroline is nothing if not resourceful. Yeah, exactly. So she goes up and holds the phone up into the attic and is like swinging it around around. Very oscillatingims by and you see two dangling feet. Which is like kind of obvious and not everybody sees it. They're like, what was that? Yeah, I was like, no, I just saw it. So you did too. Haley. Come on, Emma and Jemma.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Yeah. I think all of the actors were called by their first, actual first names. Oh, is that so??. I. I th, I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, th. And, th. think all the actors were called by their first actual first names. Oh, is that so? I think so. Oh, yeah, you're right. They had to be Emma and Jemma. Or they were just like, we are so fucking British. Teddy is an Edward, but I guess Teddy is a nickname for an Edward. It absolutely is. But I like that. Like I thought that was a fun little like pants by, feed her there. It goes back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back back th th th th th th the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th. th. th. th. th. thi thi th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I they. Yeah. I they. I they. I the the the th. I th. I th. th. I theee. I theeeea. I thea. I thea. I thea. I they're they're they'rethere, it goes back, they're gone. Yep. And then she comes down out of the attic. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And then I think then, and we see up, I think I think Haley has a polari camera and takes a photo and then we see a person hanging in the photo too. Yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So that's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. that's that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. hang you know but I think there was a hanging body in Jemma's too but maybe I'm wrong you know this memories fucking trash who fucking cares genuinely so they get cell in on back on the phone right so name Selen Salon Salon yeah yeah yeah they get her on the phone and she's
Starting point is 00:23:18 like well let's ask if it's Jack and Jemma has to admit that she made up Jack because she's already told the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they. th. She's already told her friends and they all just sit and look at her like hmm? Well the Radina, Radina's like that's funny. So she gets it. It is funny though. But it's also fucked up because Haley is just like you mother fucker. But also like who like if you're gonna do a seons and nothing fun is gonna happen you might as well make something fun happen right. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th.......................... So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, the. So, the. So, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. So, th. So, th. So, the. th'll remember that from when you invite me to your birthday silence. Okay. But you should really be careful because you can summon a false spirit. It's true. Which they should have probably been fucking warned about. Yeah, I wonder about a masturbating Toby demon. Why? Is there all this flower at Dick Hite? If you didn't listen to last week's episode, you're just like, what?
Starting point is 00:24:09 I just thought the saline has like liability insurance because she's straight negligent in this. I'm going to hope that she died too. Can you get liability insurance for the supernatural? Honestly? Yes. I'm gonna guess yes. Okay. I'm gonna guess that actually probably larger like tarot card readers have some sort of business insurance of liability, that will cover them in the liability in the case of a lawsuit to protect their own personal assets. Okay, I like it. I like it. Or they're an LLC. Sure. Well, what doesn't matter? If I cause permanent psychic damage to someone. Yeah. I bet. I the the the the the the their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. Starting point is 00:24:47 Yeah, I know, I bet there's exclusions on it, actually. Oh, ma'am, you did not warn my client about a masturbating demon. Yon, we will never do a courtroom without it being that guy, will we? No. This is a deposition. Yeah, Anna. That's just ectoplasm and flower all over this house. They had to rent a steam clean up.
Starting point is 00:25:18 Come on, Salon. Come on, Salon. Oh, it's windy. We picking that up? We picking that up? Oh, no. Oh, my god, the wind and the bites. What happens to Caroline?
Starting point is 00:25:38 How does she get, uh, Caroline's the first to... I think things just start breaking, like a mirror breaks or something in Emma's place? Sure, her wine glass. Yes. She's, thin. It's, it, it, it, it, it, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, it's, it's, it's, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th-, th-h, th-uh, th-uh, th-uh, th. It'sthink things just start breaking, like a mirror breaks or something in Emma's place. Sure, her wine glass. Her wine glass. Yes. And then... And then... Because they're expensive. And then Salon basically cuts out again. Yeah. And they do the thing, she had told them earlier about how they just need to visualize a rope from them around their wai to the front door of their home. Right. And their their their their their their their their their, and their, and th. And then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then then th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And their. And their. And their. And th. And th. And their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. And, their. And. And, their. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And, their. And, their. And their. And their. And their. And their. their, their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. And their. And the waist to the front door of their home, and then imagine themselves cutting the rope and then it'll all be over. So they do that and they're like laughing and giggling and then shit hits the fan. Right. But I don't remember like specifically what happens. Well I remember that Haley tries to like take over and Jem was just yelling, you don't know what their. their. they. they they they they they they're, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're they're they're they're they're they're they're to like take over and Jem was just yelling you don't know what you're doing and I was like these two are they got I really gonna last through this I don't is their friendship gonna be alright on the no it seemed like it came
Starting point is 00:26:31 they came in not all right on the friendship for sure yeah there was that great we forgot to mention the very opening is haley. A. their. I'm gonna do the call and her closet, stuff in her closet falling out, like her ironing board and stuff, which come on you gotta stack that shit better dog, you can't just throw an ironing board on top of everything else. I am a throw in the closet, slam the door kind of person. It's for the problem of whoever next opens the closet, which is generally me. I'm a mess. But while she's doing that, Gemma's throwing sticks at her window. Yeah, so it's thudding. Yeah, so you get some spookery there. So I'm trying to
Starting point is 00:27:12 remember what happened, but Caroline, oh Caroline goes like absent and then we see her walk back in. Right. Which they then realized is just the loop of her. Yes. Which is very upsetting. Very upsetting. But there's that whole thing of like, Caroline. Yeah. thing. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th so it's it's it's it's th so it's th so it's th so it's th so it's th so it's th so it's it's it's th so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's so it's th. So it's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It's thi. It's that. It's th. It's tho. It's th. It's thooo. It's th. It's thoo. tho. th. th. th. th. they then realize is just the loop of her. Yes. Which is very upsetting. Very upsetting. But there's that whole thing of like, Caroline, can you hear us? Can she not hear us? Can she hear us? Which as we've discussed, we're all living through that hell currently. Absolutely. And like earlier we saw Redina mute her computer so she could have an argument with her boyfriend who was chopping too loudly in the kitchen. Yeah. But the sure, for sure Alan. the the like. the like. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. Caroline. Caroline. Caroline. Caroline. Caroline. their. their. their. their. their. Caroline. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their. their their their their thing. thing. thing. thing. thing. thing. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the. But he seemed like he was spite chopping. For sure. Yeah. For sure. Alan. What a name. Who names someone Alan? A-L-A-N? What is that? Who is it? I don't like it. Mm-mm. And it seemed like they had just started dating and then were like, hey, it's a pandemic! Yeah. Here's what I really liked about that. So she mutes her call to go over to to to to to to to to to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to to go to to to to to to to to their to to to their their their and their and their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their and their and their and their their their their their their their to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their name. their name. A. A. A. A. their name. A. A it's a pandemic. Yeah, here's what I really liked about that. So she mutes her call to go over and argue with him and her friends are like, they shouldn't have moved in together. It's not long enough to move in with someone to do this before a lockdown.
Starting point is 00:28:14 But she didn't like mute her sound. She just muted her voice. So she can hear all that. That is so funny. So yeah, so the whatever it is, it kills Caroline. We don't see her return for a long time and then we start seeing her loop come through. Yeah. And then eventually, like later when things are really hitting the fan, she like pops back in and is screaming and her faces all bloody. And it's being bashed into the computer. Which I feel like happens and unfriended.
Starting point is 00:28:44 I think you're right. There was the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one the one th. th. th. th. th. th. thu. thu. thu. thoom. th. thi. thi. thoom, thoom. thoom. thoom. thoom. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. What. What is the. What is the. What. thea. the. to. right. There was the one chubby friend who kept getting banged into his computer. We couldn't tell if like someone was like it just looked very weird. Yeah. The only thing I'd like really distinctly remember from that movie was somebody like in the background putting their hand in a blender in a blender? I think, yeah. Yeah. I don't even have a blender in my house. You know? Teens in their room blenders. How domestic are you? You're like making smooth these first thing in the morning. You gotta go to the kitchen to get the stuff. First thing in the morning, where do you keep it? It's gonna keep it? It's just keep it anywhere. Just all these falled strawberries in your room. Terrible.
Starting point is 00:29:30 We see Caroline being murdered. Right. And it's very upsetting. And then cut over to Radina, who's like, Actually, I think the first thing that happens to kick this all off is she realizes Alan's not there and she says did anybody see him leave? And his phone still there. Right, she called his phone and it's ringing with her number. Yeah. And then as she's looking around, he just suddenly falls from the ceiling. Yeah, yeah. Which is also very reminiscent of last week's movie where the
Starting point is 00:29:58 kitchen furniture fell from the ceiling. It scared me thoughed. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. And, th. Right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right. Right, right. Right, right. Right, thi. Right, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theeeeea. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. It's one of the two jump scares that really got me in this. What was the other one? We'll get to it. Okay. Which it's like he's dropping from the ceiling behind where her computer was. So how did he even get up there? Right. You know? That fucking Toby the Jerkin Monster put him up there. Honestly, I'm having a hard time. I'm mixing them up them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them up them up the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. I'm mixing. I'm mixing. I'm mixing. I'm their. their. their. their. their. their. their. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. I'm mixing them up in my head now. They're very, like, if this movie had been like, from the paranormal activity universe, it's very paranormal activity. Found footage, it's people taking cameras everywhere with them. Right. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Right. So Radina tries running out of the house, right? Yeah, because she's going to run over to Haley's because Haley has been pulled off-screen in her chair. She's been like pulled through the door. Right. Yeah. And she gets like, as she gets to the door, she opens it, something slams it, lifts her up in the air and then throws her down. Yes. And that's it for Radina. Yeah. Rdina out. that's it for Radina. Yeah. that's that's that's that's that's the that's the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the that's the their. their. their. the the the the the the th. R. R. Red. Red. Red. Redina. Redina. Redina. Redina. Redina. Redina. R. Right. And then Emma sees the floating mask. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:09 Which is really spooky. Really spooky and also good on her for having her head on her shoulders and being like, I'm going to throw a flower down and see what happens. She like runs into her kitchen and I was like, you smart, smart, smart girl. I would just like, like, like, like, like, like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. And she thu and she's thu and she's thu. And she's thu. tho, tho, th. th. tho, tho, tho, tho, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, tha. And, thea. thea. thea. th floor and shit. Footprints in the duky. And you're like come on you could have walked around it. Yeah she throws flower and nothing happens right? And then it starts walking towards her. Yeah yeah yeah which I really liked. like then like her kitchen explodes where like all the cabinets fly open and it's just fallen out of them so she runs out of the kitchen and she's like waiting outside of the kitchen
Starting point is 00:31:49 looking in and we hear thud thud thud thud and white footprints are coming at her. Barefeet. Yeah. Yeah. Killer and barefeet is scary. I don't know why it's so much like scarier than them wearing shoes. Yeah. Yeah, you can't wear any clothes your shoes when you're invisible. You can see them. Oh yeah legit. I did see the invisible man. It was the last movie I saw before pandemic. Oh the new one? Yeah. How was it? Honestly, I really enjoyed it. Okay. But I have such, since I see so few movies in the theaters now, I'm like, look at this. It's incredible. A talkie. No I really really. No. I I I I I I I I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the now. I'm like, look at this, it's incredible. A talkie. No, I really enjoyed it. The train almost hit me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:30 It seemed like it was going to be an allegory for sexual violence. And I was like, do I want that right now? I mean, it's, she's definitely being domestically abused. But it's, I thought it was good. Oh, yeah. It's not like treating it lightly. Okay. You know, It's not comedic domestic abuse. Well there was that Kevin Bacon movie with him and oh fuck I can't remember the name of the love interest in the karate kid. Why can't I think of her name? Elizabeth Shoe? Thank you. I was like Emma?
Starting point is 00:33:04 Nope. Jemma? Nope. And like he immediately just becomes like the invisible, the invisible sexual assaultor. What? Yeah, it's bad. What is that movie? I can't remember what it's called? But it's like a Kevin Bacon, Invisible Man movie. I don't know what it's so weird. Yeah, I mean I couldn't even pull Emma Shoe. I'm a girl I'm a shoo. I'm a the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the Yeah, Emma Shoe. Emma Shoe. I'm a girl, I'm a shoe. As we see, just after Caroline finishes bashing her head into the camera and cuts out, or no, she doesn't, it goes back to her zoom, her zoom background. Yeah. Teddy pops back in.
Starting point is 00:33:39 It's like, oh, you're the mar marionette float into camera view. Which is funny. You're like, oh, Teddy, this is why you keep getting invited. But then you're also like, Teddy, you do the shit at the wrong time. You need to fucking read the room, Teddy. Because Emma is crying under a sheet right now. Yeah. Yeah, she is. I mean, even if nothing else, even if you like, and Redina's screen, the screen, th screen, the screen, th screen, the screen, th, th, th, the screen, th, th, th, the screen, th, th, thine, the thine, thine, thine, th, th, the th, the th.
Starting point is 00:34:05 even like you and Rodina's screen just has like a blood smear on the camera just like take a look see your friend is sobbing and then he's like what are you bitches doing? What you're not gonna talk to me I love you fucking Teddy. And then we file the like I guess teddy hears a sound and goes outside and like why is teady I guess was he there when they did this like why is today? the the thi they's th. like? th. th. th. th. the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. their their their their their their their their their their their the guess Teddy hears a sound and goes outside. And like, why is Teddy, I guess was he there when they did this? Like, why is Teddy suffering for this? I don't know. Why is any of them suffering for this? Why is Alan suffering for this? Why is this demon is going to take out all of London?
Starting point is 00:34:38 Oh, man, I don't even think about that. Oh, the old truffle. Oh, tr is going to go down. Wow. Is this demon just going to take out all of London? I guess. I guess if you do his say-ons via Zoom. But so Teddy goes outside and sees Ginny suspended above the pool and being choked and then just dropped in the water. Teddy runs away from her. Yes he does. Teddy does not dive in the pool. I don't think Teddy and Ginny are really in love love. the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. And. He's. So. t. So. t. t. t. t. I. t. I. t. I. t. I. I. t. does not dive in the pool. I don't think Teddy and Jenny are really in love. Nobody's just there for the pool. Probably the free food. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:12 And all the booze. There was a lot of booze. Yeah. Yep. At this point, the thing pops up guess Haley shilled out for the professional version. But no, 40 minute call. Sick Zoom burn. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:30 You don't want to pay $16.64 a month? Uh-huh. Is that how much a Zoom is? Yeah, but I'm using it as a business expense, because I'm using it for work. Smart. Smart. So Teddy. Teddy's running and he goes into the barn and the music box is in the barn playing. Which is exactly like Happy Death Day. I feel like we are stuck in a cycle of very, very, very similar movies. For sure.
Starting point is 00:35:52 Yeah, we need to break out of it next week. And don't worry, we are. We're a gunna. I really like the whole, like him, I can't remember why he gets knocked down. There's a face, he sees a face, a scary face and he falls down. Oh that's right, yeah, yeah, there's like a demon man that's like, ah, right? I did not think that was great. No, no, no, not a fan of that demon man for sure. That was definitely like too much, like pull back a little bit, pull back.
Starting point is 00:36:20 Better that we don't see it. Exactly. But he falls down and then he had had his zipo out, like lighting his way because his flashlight exploded. Oh right, he gets knocked out. And he gets knocked out. And then you just see a flame creeping up him. And you're like, oh fuck, Teddy's gonna burn to death, that's brutal. But then, even worse, he wakes up. He wakes up. I'm screaming. I really like this. I really like this. Because I thought the special effect was great. Yeah. And because the zoom quality is just shitty enough that you can get away with lighting them on fire and it looks fine.
Starting point is 00:36:51 But it was good. It's terrifying. It's terrifying. There's such a like powerlessness to this movie where you're like watching these things happen and you can't do anything about them, which which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which th you th you th you th th th th th th th th th th the, and you the, and you can't do the, and you can't do the, and you can't do the, the the the the, and you can't do theate the, and you can't the, and you can't the, and you can't the, and you can't the, and you can't the, and you can't the, and you can't allegory for the pandemic. Uh-huh. Because we're all powerless in our futile efforts to... Anyway, Teddy's dead. Teddy's dead.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Anyway, Teddy's dead. And Emma's bugging out even more because she just watched this whole thing go down. Yes. And then she turns in her room and picks up her blanket that she's been hiding under and throws it. And then tun-dun-dun-duh. It lands on somebody. It lands on a person. I love that and that scared me. Yeah. I love that a lot. And then she gets chucked out the ground. And it's just like with her bunny slipper just like precariously in the air. That was real flooding. Yeah. So we've got Jemma running over to Haley's.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Yes, to see what's going on. I love how angrily she put on her mask to deal with this. She was like, I fucking gotta go out. I like those little nods to like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, th, th. th. That, th. That, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, oh, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. th. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. th. th. th. th. elbow bump. Yeah, the elbow bump. They like kind of smirk about it, like all your friends are dead. Well they obviously clearly the fault of the two of you. For sure. Yeah. They obviously wanted to hug. There was like the moment where they moved towards each other and I'm like, elbow bomb. It's so funny because like literally all of your friends are being murdered by a demon like risk. Like risk this one having. Hug it out. I also love that she's like, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, knock, break the window going to the house. Yeah, well because at that point Haley had been dragged out of frame and so she doesn't
Starting point is 00:38:31 know if she's dead or alive. Right, drug out, door slammed, whole nine yards. We assume she's dead. Of course. She's not. She's not. . we are getting the countdown. We've got like two minutes left on the countdown. It is so tense with that countdown clock because you know what you know that something's gonna happen and when it gets to one. You know it and you're just
Starting point is 00:38:51 watching it go down anyway. And this is the like this is the longest they take to drag something out in this movie. Yes. Walking down the hallway like hitting the Polaroid flash going off. Just fucking run run. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho th. th. tho the tho the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho. the the tho. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. the. the. the. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. walking down the hallway, like hitting the Polaroid, flash going off, flash going off. Just fucking run. And then, five seconds left on the clock. It's counting down. And you get to like three, two, blah, blah. You get this jump scare of this guy jumping into frame. Looks terrible.
Starting point is 00:39:21 It looks terrible, jumped out of my fucking skin. I knew it was coming. I was like it's going to jump at me. It's gonna jump at me. It's gonna jump in me. It's gonna jump in me. It reminded me there was like this genre of quick time videos back in the early 2000s that would be like car drives into a tunnel but doesn't come out the other side and like well where's the car where's the car? He's he's a zombie man! I remember those I liked those a lot. And that's what this reminded me of. Yeah. What's going on here? What's going on here? And even after you'd seen that zombie today took this afternoon off from work and when I watched this movie and when it ended, I had this like, just like visceral reaction of like, I need to get the fuck out of my house right now. And I like, I literally just put on my running clothes and ran.
Starting point is 00:40:19 I had to get out of my house. I had to be out of there right then. Like, I don't know know, it th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho. th tho. tho. tho. that that's that's that's that that, that, that, that, that that that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, I th. th. that, th. th. th. that, th. that, that, that, that that that that that that that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that. that, that. that. that. that that. that that that that that that that be out of there right then. Like I don't know, it was midday, it was, you know, 245. Chasing that Scaredragon. Chasing the Scare Dragon. The Scare Dragon was chasing me. Last night I was on a, I was playing D&D and at one point something happened with my audio that made two of the people I was talking to go, whoa! What was that? And I went, guys don't guys don this right now. I know. I just watch this movie. Yeah. Honestly, like, I feel like I'm going to be on zoom calls for work and I'm going to be peeping in people's backgrounds. Like, please don't want anything to be back there.
Starting point is 00:40:54 You should every once a while just have dangling feet in your back. What's that? What, what? What, what, what? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? I? th? I? I? I? I? I? All right. You want to go first? Yeah. I fucking love this movie.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Yeah. There's part of me that wants to say this is way better than it should be. Yeah. But it's just a fucking fun movie. Yeah. And it's like, it's got mad hype right now, like it's showing up everywhere and it was like, oh, it's scary's movie ever seen, not at all. No. But fun. Very fun.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Very tense. Yeah. And very reactive. I feel like I really had a reaction to this film. For sure. And I agree with you. I don't know that that that that that that that that that. I don't that. I don't that. I don't that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Dope? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna give this thi. Yeah, what do you think? Yeah. I think that this is the highest rating we've ever had for a movie on Rotten Tomatoes. Oh really, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, to, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to to, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, to, to, to, to, to to to th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, I I I I I I, I I, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, th, th, thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, that, that, to that, to to to to to to to to tho. tho, thi, cinema. Miki Zach. No, I loved it. I could find no fault with this film. I'm moving it a 10, especially because it's 55 minutes or 56 minutes long.
Starting point is 00:42:11 Like, it was, I mean, you can tell a compelling story in under two and a half hours. Who would have fucking thought? With like, there's character development, there's you get to know them, you know, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, I I I I I I I I I, I, I, I, I, I, I their, I, I, I their, I, I, I their, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, th.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th.there's you get to know them, you know, like it doesn't have to be, everything doesn't have to be an epic adventure. No, no, no, it's true. I really appreciate making it short and sweet. I really do. Yeah, I mean I think like horror works best literary in the short story format. Yeah, fella, yeah, and so this like being the like short story format but not in the format of like a series of vignets th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the theeeeeeea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the. the being the like short story format but not in the format of like like a like series of vignettes right just go one fifty five minute little guy here and go it's great you could talk about it on your podcast for almost as long as the movie that's really good a lot of diverts a lot of
