Starting point is 00:00:00 Can I read you my first note for this movie? Oh, please. Oh, boy, poetry kind of shit. I feel like that's all I needed to say, honestly. Oh, try. Oh, boy. Poetry kind of shit. I feel like that's all I needed to say, honestly.
Starting point is 00:00:23 For sure. Yeah. Can I read you my first note? Yes, please. Ooh, I too love this wallpaper. Yeah, that's us pretty much in a nutshell, huh? As we know from the Tale of Two Sisters episode, I'm a sucker for a floral wallpaper. You do love wallpaper. And I do hate poetry kind of shit, unfortunately. The poem in this movie is fucking amazing. No it is very good. I
Starting point is 00:00:45 was talking about just the beginning of this movie where she's just being like imagine being so introspective. Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. This movie made me realize that I'm probably glad I didn't go to college. Yeah yeah yeah. This movie maybe realized that I'm probably glad I didn't go to college and it'm glad I went to college and it was mostly for the parties. But it like opens on this woman's internal monologue about like, I'm thinking of breaking up with my boyfriend because I'm not excited about meeting his parents. And it's like, my dude! No one is excited about meeting their significant other's parents.
Starting point is 00:01:21 It's never a fun time. Oh my God, it's so weird. What movie are we doing? I'm thinking of ending things. The film. The film. The Netflix original film. Starring Jesse Plemons. That's the boy from Fart Nightlights. From the football show. Yes. In my notes, I could not, in my mind, Palace, pull up Friday night lights, so I just keep calling him the boy from the football show. Because you know I do talk to text, so it's not hard for me. What was the name of his band? On the television show or he had a real band? He had a band on the TV show that was called like crucifaction or something. It was his like thrash metal. to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. their thi. their thi. their thi. their thi. their their their their their their their their their their their their their the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. the the the boy. the boy. the boy. the boy. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. to to the. to to to thea. to to to to thea. thea. to thea. thi. the. I the. I thi. I the. It was his like thrash metal Christian band. What? It was terrible. On this football show? Yeah, yeah. Did you know watch all five seasons of the show? Oh, I most certainly did not. I love that show. I know. Just like after a while I was like I can't.
Starting point is 00:02:16 You know. You don't want to see Tammy Taylor walking around the big-ass class of wine? I saw enough of that. I saw enough of that that. I that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. the th. the th. the th. the the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. the. the. the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. I. I. th. I. th. I. th. th. I. t. t. the. t. t. t. t. t. the. the. the. the of that. I'm sorry you were going to say when you were. No, no, I was going to say when I was in a bad place mentally. That show was like going through all five seasons. That show was a really nice break from everything for me. So it's so sad. Why didn't you just watch like what we do in the shadows instead? Well, because it didn't exist. Okay. A lot of people cold putting by the house tonight, just slow, slow, slow.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Just chilling. It's good weather for it. It's true. Go for a slow ride. Take it easy. Take it easy. Mea, meow, meow, meow, mow. Oh shit, we should have done that fucking Texas kids movie.
Starting point is 00:02:58 What? the the action in that movie? I guess there's a fight. Barely. And Ben Afflex Jeans. Oh, so Jesse Ply and Jesse Buckley. Yes. I like that there was two Jesse Buckeley. I did too, genuinely.
Starting point is 00:03:23 That's the thing I like. And I would add this to our third patron saint. Absolutely, and I'm sorry I didn't say it last week, because you're totally right about this. Tony, fucking Collette. She's a goddamn treasure. Oh my god. She's, I feel, just, I feel just.
Starting point is 00:03:38 We first meet her and she does that laugh. for a really long time. Just like watching her do something is a pleasure. It's an absolute pleasure. I feel the same way about David Thulis as well. Who's that? That's the dad. Oh, so what do you know him from? He's in a ton of British stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:59 The first thing I ever saw him in was an indie film called Naked Okay, that's a hard watch, don't watch it. But he's in, oh fucking inspector calls, which is the thing I told you to watch on Britbox. I watched the first half of it, I haven't finished it. It's long. It's long. I thought it was a show. I didn't realize it was a movie or something. It's like an hour and a half. And then I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th I th I th I th I th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. He's th. He's the the the the th. He's the the the th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's he's th. He's he's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's th. He's in th. He's in th. He's in the th. He's in the th. He's in he's in he's in, he's in he's in, he's wrap up or anything? But he's the, he's the inspector in that. Um, oh my god. Yeah. What did I just see him in? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, he's in a literal ton of things. There's just something that I was very excited that he was in. Ah, it doesn't matter. The Harry Potter series? No, that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. thi. Yeah. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I th. I did not realize it was the same guy. Yeah, yeah. He's very versatile. He really is. Yeah, he's great. He's got that Gary Oldman thing of like, doesn't really always look the same in every role that he does. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Now when Gary Oldman was, um, Dracula? Uh-huh. I do. Think about the movie all the time? Such a good movie? Gotta reach a bit on the wiener. Uh, yeah. So that's the main cast in this movie. Oh. Oof. And then, so the first, I don't know, this movie is two hours and 15 minutes, I think. Yeah, uh-huh. The first, 20 minutes is just them in the car. Oh my god, having an insuff. the ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins ins the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. thi. th- thi- thi- th- thi- thi. I thi- thi- th- th- th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I'm, thi. I'm thi. I thi. I thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thithem in the car. Oh my God, having an insufferable conversation. This is like Garden State, if Garden State were two and a half hours long. You know what I mean? It's just like that hipster, intellectualism, trying to one up one another, and also being like lightly manic-pixie. For sure.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But then she does deliver that poem that she claims is her poem, and we later find out it's not her poem. Well, sort of. Sort of, for sure. Can we get to the spoiler of this movie? She doesn't exist. Right. None of it does. Right. Except for the janitor. And the kid from the football show is young him. It's him imagining himself.
Starting point is 00:06:11 That's the theory. Yes. That's my theory. Right. Right. I'm sure there are many theories. Yeah. I was reading a bunch of reviews for this. Okay. Oh man if you want to get into some pomposity, read reviews of this movie. People like it. Oh, yeah, yeah. It's one of those th. It's th. It's th. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's one. It's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the. their. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the It's one of those movies that like, I feel like people like to talk about how they think about it. Oh boy, everybody's Jesse Plemons in this one, huh? I did read a thing the other day that compared Jesse Plymonds to Philip Seymour Hoffman. Okay. And I can see that. Like, I think as he gets older, he's coming into that. Not just they. They's they's they's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Everybody's just thee. Everybody's just thee. the thi. the the. the physicality yes but he's one of those people that like okay Jesse Blum is in this yeah watch this it's probably pretty good he's um he is married to another person that we also very much love on this podcast which is your girl and mine curs and dunce yeah yeah because they run that Fargo together and fell in love oh cute you know what else I like about him about Jesse Buckley too is that they're both their their their their their they they they they they they they they they they they they their they they they they they they their their they they they their they their they they th. they they they they they they th. their they're the. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they their their their their their their their their their th the tho the tho tho to tho te. te. toge. toge. tho tho tho thoooo to the. tho. they're they Buckley too is that they're both attractive but not conventionally so.
Starting point is 00:07:07 They look like people you would actually know and maybe be friends with and they might be like you're a good looking friend. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Same with Tony Colette too.
Starting point is 00:07:17 I feel like that's a role she's really been kind of thrusted into of like, you're like, thin....., you know? But I feel like in her case, like she's one of those people that if you met her in person, you'd be like, oh my god, she's fucking gorgeous. That's the Uma Thurman effect, too, right? Where people are like, she's so interesting looking, like, no, she's fucking drop dead gorgeous. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, it's like she evolved further than I did, you know? Right. But, um, but I just, I like when he shows up in stuff now and like, he shows up in Breaking Bad and like, you're like, oh, and, oh, and you're not a nice guy.
Starting point is 00:07:54 This is interesting. Not mess either, though. No. Hmm. So, during this conversation he starts talking about all the musicals he knows and I was like, God, I was thinking about this like, because they've been together about six weeks. She's going to meet his parents and she's like, I don't think this is going anywhere. Right. And I was like, what is your, what are you trying to do with him? Right. And then I thought, God, I think the musical thing would be a deal th deal th deal th deal th deal th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi. thi. I was thi. I was thi. I was thi. I was thi, I ride is oh yeah endless, end this relationship. Even if I think if I was into a guy and he came out
Starting point is 00:08:31 to me as being very into musicals I'd be like we're fundamentally different people. Really? Yeah there's just nothing between us anymore. Wow that's a complete deal breaker. Yeah I think so. I gotta say, I don't like a musical. Is there a musical that you like? I've not really seen many musicals because they're not good. Why are you just breaking out on song? What? You seen the music guy? No, I've not seen the music man.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Oh man. The opening the music man is fucking amazing. Alan, I might have to quit this podcast. I don't think so. Look, this is mostly just judgment. It's not knowledge, it's judgment. And that's where I come from. I'm not a huge fan of musicals. I hate talk singing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:13 We're going, we're going to go walk over here now and look at this thing. Isn't that. You don't mean, here's the thing. Everyone's like, oh, it's so great. And I'm like, but it's still a musical. Yeah. I heard Hamilton reviewed as hip-up for people who don't like hip-hop, and I was like, yeah. Is that really what it is? It feels that way for sure. It's cool to see a bunch of people of color, the people the people tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. tha, tha, tho, tha, tha, Broadway. I wouldn't imagine. Anyway, we've gotten off point. Katie. From how I'm going
Starting point is 00:09:46 to break up with my imaginary musical loving boyfriend. Basically my point is I'd be thinking of ending things too. For sure. Yeah. And especially like, but they did that thing that like, I feel like every guy does to their partner at some point. And it's very, I feel like it's very much a guy thing of when she's like, well, like Musolini you, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, the, the, the, the, the, theto their partner at some point. And it's very, I feel like it's very much a guy thing of when she's like, well like Mussolini got the trains running on time and you go, well actually the fascist weren't the ones who instituted the train schedule that came at before. And I'm like, guys, come on, it's just the saying. Can I tell you my note about that? thinn't. that. th. th. th. the the th. the th. the th. their, their, th. their, their, th. th. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they. they. they. they. they. they-a. they-a. they-a. they-a. they-a. they-s. they-a. they-a. they-s. they-a. they-s. train. train. t really not true about Mussolini in the trains? That makes me mad. I've believed that in my whole life. Maybe you needed an over-explainer boyfriend to explain that too. Did you like when she said bone dog, because that's a phrase I used to be boner, but it was like the name of her beautiful poem, and I was like, eh, bone dog. It does seem to be incongruous with the poem poem poem poem poem poem poem poem the poem the poem the poem the poem the poem the poem to the poem to to to to to to to seem to be incongruous with the poem itself.
Starting point is 00:10:47 Yeah, bone dog, which maybe is only because you're, then your context for it is a boner because of me, you know. What if it was called peeper? Peeper. But, the poem itself is like, it's such a good summation of what it's like to go home. Yeah. It's just so, unlike when she's done and, the tho' thi, and tho, tho, tho, and, tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' tho' thin, thin, the the thin, thin, the the the thin, the the, the, tho' the, the, the, the, the, tho' the the, tho, the the the th, th, the th, th, the th, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho, tho, tho, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, tho thin, tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th good summation of what it's like to go home. Yeah. It's just so, like, when she's done and Jesse Plum is just like, did you write that about me? Yeah, fucking head up his butt.
Starting point is 00:11:16 But also that was a lot to memorize, or do poets just do that? I think they know their poems. I don't believe that. Because you go to poetry readings, they're reading. Sure, they're not poetry, their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their poetry, their their poetry, their their their poetry, their their their their their their their poetry, thoes, their thoa, thoomats, thiae. Fethea, thiauice, thiauice, thiauice, thiauicicicicicicicicicicicethea, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, tha, th know their poems. I don't believe that. Because you go to poetry readings, they're reading. Sure. They're not poetry's recitations. I'm a jerk, I'm sorry. Things I've been mean about in this episode, poetry, musicals. Come at me. I'm a cynical person, though, neither of those things are going to die with me.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Do you have a favorite poet? No, Joel. Jared Liddo, I'm sure he's got a book of poetry. I'm sure he's a tumbler of poetry. I'm just more of a prose kind of person. Sure, sure, what about you your favorite poet? Yeah, Pablo Naruda. I love when people read his poems at weddings. Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. It's always a tear-jerker. Yeah, it's good, good time, good time. He's great. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah, the th. Yeah. Yeah, the the the th. Yeah. Yeah, the the the the the th. Yeah, the th. Yeah, the the th. Yeah, the the the the the the the th. Yeah, the the the the the the the th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, I' th. Yeah, I' th. Yeah, I' the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. th. the the yeah. It's always a tearjerker. Yeah, it's good, good time, good time. He's great. Yeah. Go on. Did you notice that the pig on the billboard talks to her? Uh-huh. Come be with us. It's like, it's weird, right? Yeah, yeah. Which is your first, like real inclination that something is not right in all of this? Well, also there was there there was there there was there was the the their their their their their th. That th. That thi their thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that times. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's good. It's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. ti. ti. toda. today. today. It's today. today. today. today. today. today. today. ti. is not right in all of this? Yeah. Well also there was that opening shot of her standing outside thinking about ending things. And old man janitors in his apartment looking down on her and for a second he's Jesse Plemons. Oh, I didn't catch that at all.
Starting point is 00:12:37 I miss that entirely. I might be misremembering it, but that like in my memory of him, like being Jesse Plymonds looking out the window. Interesting. Where is it? So we get to the house and his mom is waving at them in this like manic, nightmarish way. Yes, in a way that only Tony Callet can do, I feel.
Starting point is 00:12:58 She's just so fucking good. She was definitely like channeling her hereditary at this point. Absolutely, but with like just a notch turned towards like ridiculous as opposed to horrifying. On her ridiculous to horrifying scale she turned at one. It was almost like someone told her she was in the live-action version of Coraline. So just like really nail this. 100%! Yeah. But it goes on way too long. Right. And she's just the, what is the girlfriend, Lucy? She's the
Starting point is 00:13:25 young lady. But she's not Lucy. Sometimes she's Lucia. Lucy, sometimes she's Yvonne. But Yvonne is also in the TV show. Yes. Well that, he calls her Lucy at one point and then she gets a phone call from Lucy. Yeah. And doesn't take it. But then she gets a million phone calls from Lucy. Yes. Well, he calls her Lucy at one point and then she gets a phone call from Lucy. Yeah. And doesn't take it. But then she gets a million phone calls from Lucy. Yes. Yeah. What's that about? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:53 I don't know anything. I feel like I've parsed a lot of it. that I was like, I don't know what this means. Are you, are you familiar with Charlie Kaufman's the work, the Eternal Sunshine in the spotless mind, but not actually seen it. Just samsy. Yeah. And that might well be it. What else says he might made? Adaptation? No. Bing John Malchovich. Parts. Okay. Seen of it. I would say I've seen of it. Yeah. Synodouch New York. Anomalisa. What? That's a stop motion movie that came out in 2015? Really? Would I like it?
Starting point is 00:14:28 I don't know, I've never seen it. I've only seen being John Malkovich. Okay. And just judging from that, and this movie, this guy has his head way up his own ass. Yeah, the way it's sort of presented is it's like, ooh, it's a Charlie Kaufman movie. Yeah. It's a that's a th. It's a th. It's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a charer. Starting point is 00:14:50 And just like, I don't know nothing about it. Like Kevin Smith. Just kidding. What would you rather watch again? This? Really? I'm taking this because I am also a pompous ass. I don't like you talking about my friend Alan that way, but go ahead. I can't have talked
Starting point is 00:15:14 about jazz and philosophy as much as I have in my life without being a pompous ass. You make me feel like a stupid person, but I've never talked about jazz and whenever people try to talk about philosophy with me, I'm like, eh, not so much. No, why would you? Why would you want to talk about it? I don't know. I guess I'd like to just think my thoughts instead of say them out loud, which isn't true, because I like to say everything that I like to say everything that thrown very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very the philosopher.. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe the philosopher. Maybe the philosopher. Maybe the philosopher, to to to to to to be very very very very very very very very very, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to talk to talk to to talk to to talk to to talk to to to talk to talk to to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk to talk about about to talk about about about to talk about about to talk about too, too, too, too, toooo, their tooooo, too, too, too about about about about about about too about about too about too about about to too, too, to to too, to talk about it if you're living in. No, that's certainly not true. Philosophy and jazz are two things that I find very difficult but get enjoyment out of. And that's why I deal with them. Like, what do you find difficult about jazz? I like a lot of like free jazz type stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:57 A lot of a like, what I'm squanky, squank, because it doesn't make sense to me and I have to to to to it out while I'm listening to it. And I find that enjoyable. Sounds like a lot of work. Yeah it's it's the things that I like to put my mental effort into rather than like a crossword. Yeah or doing like real work in my life. I see. And philosophy is the same thing. Yeah. Well, I'm extremely good at jigsaw puzzles. You are. Yes. And I know a lot about crime. Much more useful things. Strongly disagree. I think all of these things are useless. Nobody wants to hear my thoughts on John Coltrane. Yeah, and nobody wants to hear me talk about Henry Lee Lucas. So like, let's just move on on both accounts I guess.
Starting point is 00:16:47 So, but, yeah, so this, they go there and then before they go into the house after Manic Mom is waving at them, Jesse Plymonds is like, I'm sorry, Jake. It's like, hey, let's go to the barn first, because there's a bunch of nightmares that I need to tell you about. This is so weird. It's such a weird shift for him, because in the car on the way there, he seems like kind of a nervous, slightly insufferable guy. An angry. Angry, deep down, but not letting it out. Sure, for sure, for sure. Like that seething anger. Right. But then once they get get get get get get get get they get they get they get they get they get they get the they get the the the their their their the. the. the. the. thatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheat. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the the the to to to theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee to to thee thee the the the the the the the then once they get in the barn, he turns into this weird, almost like incompetent person.
Starting point is 00:17:29 He can't like explain anything to her. He like... He becomes like an awkward team. Yeah, exactly. Right. And at this point I started thinking, oh, this is a movie about going home and that thing of when you go and see family and you reset to being 13. You reset to be like your relationship when it was put into
Starting point is 00:17:54 stone kind of like get set at that level and so he just becomes kind of an insufferable teen at this point. Wow does that happen? Well when they're at the dinner tale?, I mean in life. Oh, for sure. Yeah, my relationship with my parents is very much like a teenager, even to this day. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I never really had parents so I can't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I never really had parents so I can't. Also, don't date a man that makes you walk in the snow when you say you don't want to. Being outside in the snow, fucking sucks. For sure.
Starting point is 00:18:28 If you're not prepared for it, you don't got good shoes on for it, pff, come on. This movie made me realize how much I'm dreading the winter. Oh. I was watching it like, oh, this is going to happen to to happen to happen to happen to happen to happen to happen to happen to happen to happen to happen to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the the the to the the to be the to scrape off a car. I got excited about looking outside and seeing snow because it's one of the favorite things. What the fuck for? I love snow. You have all of these stairs. You have to shovel all of them.
Starting point is 00:18:54 It takes five minutes. No, I disagree. I disagree with this thing that you're telling me from your own experience. So he tells her about their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the he shows this black spot on the ground. He's like, oh, this is where the pigs died, basically. And then he explains to her that his father forgot to come check on the pigs because he got busy. So he came outside and the pigs were still alive and being eaten by maggots at the same time. And she's like, what?
Starting point is 00:19:25 What? What? What? That's not, that's like gross neglect. That's not, I got, that's disturbing on a profound level. Extremely fucked up. And then there's some frozen dead lambs. They're just laying there. And she's like, don't you need to take, oh, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, they're frozen, that, that's tho, thi. that's, that's, that's, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, to. That, to. That, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah, the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the first floor of the house, which I thought was very interesting. I wasn't sure I liked it, but I was like, oh, I'm seeing what you're doing.
Starting point is 00:20:06 For sure. Yeah, for sure. So there's like a scene where she's standing outside the dining room and they're like, okay, let's go eat, and then she walks into the dining room, and they're all sitting at the table already. Right. And I was like, wow, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's great, that's great, that's great, th. that's great, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the sa. the sa. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the s. th. the s. the s. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I's. I's. th. th. I's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thee. th. th. th. th. food. And there is a full like fucking King Arthur feast on the table of like roast a beast and all this other stuff. Well, it's a, it's ham. Oh right, from the maga pig. And she says everything here is from the farm. Yeah, the girlfriend is like, uh, the girlfriend is like, uh, yeah. It's also been sort of ominous about how his mother hasn't been feeling well. Like, right. You're like, oh, she's crazy.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Right, right, right. Right, right. And dad seems to be way off as well. Yeah, something, he's just like staring and getting too close. And he's got a bandaid that keeps switching what side of his head it's on. I didn't notice that. I didn't notice that. I'm like that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to the. Yeah, to to to to to to to to be like, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right. Yeah, right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thelly. Old British Nelly. Do you know how many people contacted me to tell me that Nelly was going to be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars? A lot. You got a brand. Yeah. It's funny like when something hits the internet that I'm, like a lot of people seem to know what I like. Like the weekend at Bernies in the Kansas City Royal Stadium. Do you know how many people send that to me? Oh fuck darn. They sent it to you, they sent it to us.
Starting point is 00:21:30 They sent it. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Then like watching the scene of them at dinner, which is very uncomfortable. For sure. I kept thinking about Lucy, my Lucy, bringing home a dude for the first time, and I got so fucking uncomfortable. For sure. I kept thinking about Lucy, my Lucy, bringing home a dude for the first time and I got so fucking uncomfortable. So weird. What am I going to do? Or bringing home a girl either. Don't, like maybe she'll just not bring him anybody. She'll just hide it from me. I hope she never hears this. Just the like,, I can't imagine. That's gonna be so weird.
Starting point is 00:22:08 So fucking weird. Do I intimidate? It's gotta be so weird. I'm gonna roll for intimidation. I don't think you do. I think you embrace. You seem like an embracer to me. Gotta be so weird,
Starting point is 00:22:21 until the person's like, I like, get a fuck out of my daughter's life. But that's got to be such a weird like concept of like this child that you love so much will be an adult one day. Yeah. Like, that's crazy. It is crazy. It is crazy. It's cool too though. It's really not that far off either in the grand scheme of things. She's three. I know. She's going to move out in 15 thin 15 thin 15 tho th. th. th. th. to th. th. to th. to th. th th th th th th th th th th tho. th thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi. that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. throooooooooooooooooo. the. the. that's that's that that's that to talk about this. Okay. Okay. But that's what this movie does to me is it makes me like think about all this stuff. It brings up the past. It brings up like memories and again that's what I'm, that's what it's making me, I'm the pompous dude writing a review of it right now. This is what it's making me think about. Well our work on this show is pompous. the the the th. It th. th. th. th. It is p. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It's th. th. It's th. It's the th. It's th. It's th. It's thi thi. It brings up. It's thi. It brings up thi. It brings up thi. It brings up thi. It's thi. It you tell with OPP? Other people's pomposity? Did you write that down because that's fucking great. Did you just do that on the fly? I love it.
Starting point is 00:23:11 So yeah, there's the awkward dinner scene where, and now her interest set has changed because at the beginning of dinner she's into some sort of physics. Right, quantum physics, yeah. And that's when he's like, it's, physics, mom. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, that's, because, because, that's, because, because, because, because, that's, because, that's, because, because, because, because, because, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that, quantum physics, yeah. And that's when he's like, it's physics mom. Yeah. He gets real mad at her. And you're like, whoa. And again, that's what I was thinking like he's become a teen again. He's getting angry with his parents over simple nonsense. Okay. And have you noticed that her outfit has started changing slightly? Yes, sometimes she's wearing the sweater over the dress and sometimes she's not wearing the sweater over the dress. And sometimes her coat is pink and sometimes it's purple. And sometimes her hair is like in like beautiful twist and sometimes it's wild.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Right. Yeah. Which in reflecting on, I'm thinking that he's thinking of different people. And you know how, like, I don't know if this happens to you, but when I dream, sometimes a person will be, like, if I'm dreaming of Katie, it might be a completely different person, but it's you, if that makes sense. Oh, that happens to me with like places where I'll be like, this is my house, but it's not my house. Right, right, back, that sort of thing. So I think in this memory, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, and mom, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, like, like in this memory and like mom's hair has changed a
Starting point is 00:24:25 lot when like she's older and younger and her hair is changing wildly. Yeah. Depending on what she's talking about and what's happening. So yeah so now she's a painter and she's talking to them about her paintings and they're not getting it in that like typical people who don't appreciate art way, which I thought was fine. But she just like won't let it go. She's like, well, I try to imbue my work with a sense of, and it's like, just laugh and move on, because that's what you're supposed to do. I did like the dad being like,
Starting point is 00:24:53 well, how can you show sadness if there's not a person in the field in art history. I get that. But then that's when I started feeling like not so warmly towards her. But it doesn't matter because she's not real anyway. It's so, yeah. Yeah. So she, so the next like hour and a half of the movie is her in various scenes in their house. The scene keeps changing, the age of the parents keeps changing. They get older. I think they get younger again at one point. Sure, yeah, mom's like a young waitress at one point. That's right, wearing like a like a 60s style get-ups. Right, and she has that like really
Starting point is 00:25:35 like blue eyeshadow. Mm-hmm. Talking about picking up toys. toys, thiiii, to to to to to to to to their, to their, their, thi, thi, thi, their, their, thi, thi, their, thi, their, their, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thea, thea, thea, thea, thea, thea, thea, thooooooooomoomorrow, thi, thi, thi asking to leave. She keeps asking to leave. Right, because the blizzard's coming, and she has a lot of work to do before tomorrow. And also, like, I'd want to get the fuck out of there. But she's not asking that much to leave. There's no force behind it. Why? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Because she's not real. I mean, okay. Is it like, so I was reading reviews of this and like some of the, I may have been the, I can't remember who was. It might have been the Rolling Stone review that I was reading or might have been the A.O. Scott. Oh. Where he referenced how he was referenced in a Charlie Coffman novel. Oh, come on. Which I was like, God, damn. They just like, somehow a naval staring into its own
Starting point is 00:26:27 asshole, staring into its own name, Ouroboros. Buffolgazing. But he, they were talking about how like, nothing is real. It's all the imagination of the janitor. And it's all just like, you're basically with him on his last day of life. He's dying. Right. And he's having this fantasy about a life he could have lived. Well he's not dying, he's gonna kill himself, right? When you say he's dying you mean he's freezing to death in the bed of his truck? I guess so, yeah. Because that's sort of the double meaning of I'm thinking of ending things, right? Right, right, right, for th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their, thi. their, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. thiiiiiiii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi'm thinking of ending things right? Right, right, right, for sure. For sure. Because to me that speaks of suicide much more than it does other thing about dumping
Starting point is 00:27:10 this dude. Oh, interesting. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I don't know why. That's just that phrase. But yeah, so none of it's real. Right. It's all just imagined. But you don't know that until kind of far, like maybe an hour and 45 minutes into the movie when you're just like waiting for something to happen. And the scenes in the house are very tense. Or at least I thought. Sure, sure. Uncomfortable to the to the unteens.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Like I was doing laundry while I was watching this movie, because I can never just do one goddamn thing at once. And I had to go down and flip my stuff from the washer to the dryer, and I didn't want to go downstairs and I don't even have a spooky basement. Because I was like, I don't even to the scala. You don't know, I'm scared, you know? You have a chillasse, to be a totali-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-s-n'-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s. tho, tho, tho, tho, thin, thr-s. throwne, throwne, thr-s. I'm thr-s. I'm thin'-s, thi-s, thi-s, tho'-s. tho' tho' tho' tho' thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi! thi! thi! thi! thi-s thi-s thi-s, thi-s, thi-s, thi-s. thi-s. thi-s. thin, thin'-s. thr-s. thr-s. throwne. throwne. thro'-s. to-s. toooooooooooooooooooooooo'-s. And I thrc'-s th who it might be down there might be crazy Tony Colette you know it'd be weird British dad how stoked do you have crazy total it was honestly it'd be fucking terrified she popped through my storm doors ah waving did you see the meme that somebody made because you know there's that big fire in
Starting point is 00:28:22 California that was started with a gender reveal oh my god somebody toned Tony Coll big fire in California that was started with a gender reveal. Oh my god. Somebody did Tony Colette standing in front of Gabriel Burn burning at the end of hereditary and it just says it's a boy above. That's fucked up. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:28:38 You know what's fucked up is we don't even know what that one was? Fire. Oh God. Oh, but literally in these scenes I just wanted to be dead. I was so stressed out. So stressed out. It felt like you were going to somebody else's who you had no... Yeah, you were in the place of Lucy. You had no interest in meeting this guy's family and you were just stuck in this hell of watching his mom die and then not be dead and then be old
Starting point is 00:29:07 and dad's now senile and he's not seen now and he's talking about how you can fuck in this tiny bed because it's for children. We'll get you a regular size bed so you can fuck in it and I'm just like what is going on? And through all of this she's not reacting the way the way the way the way the way the way the way the way the way the way the way th. th. She's not th. She's not th. She's not th. She's not th. She's not th. She's not to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to to to the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. toe. to the. the. the. to to the.the way you would react, which is to put your coat on and be like, I'm out, I will find the keys and leave. Right. But then it's just because she's not real? Like, I guess, I mean, she's doing stuff too, like she had referenced, she had photos of her paintings on her phone that she was showing the family. Later she finds a book that has those photos in it. Right, and she finds her poem in a book on his bed. Right. In a room labeled Jake's childhood bedroom. Exactly. Yeah. And there's like later on in the movie there is this this, I was so angry during
Starting point is 00:30:01 this part. There's this long piece where Lucy is just, what's it named, like Pauline Kane maybe? I can't remember that. Yes, the film, or the film critic. Right, and she's just lifting a thing about Casavettis, and it goes on for 15 minutes. But like, and there's a book of her film criticism in his childhood room. That conversation they're writing about Cassavetti, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what was was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was, what was that was that was that was that was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what is, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was, what was???? was, what was, what was, what was, what was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's there's a book of her film criticism in his childhood room. That conversation they're writing on Cassavetis, what was that even about?
Starting point is 00:30:31 Would he, why did it happen? No, like what, that was a movie they were discussing? Yeah, yeah, um, oh, fuck, I can't remember the name of the Casabetti's movie, um, but it's about a woman whose mental state is degrading. And she keeps going, pppph-poh-pppr-making, and sticking her thumbs out to the sides, which is why they kept doing that. It's just frustrating because I feel like there were cultural references in there that were
Starting point is 00:30:57 really important to get, and I don't know shit about Oklahoma. And I've never seen this movie, they spent literally 15 minutes and discussing in such a way that you're like these are plot points Right, but I don't know what that I don't know what they are you can't have your movie hinge on another movie Not that it hinges on it, but like right it's very wasteful of my time Cassavetis was and like again back to my pomposity. I was like I was like watching this movie. I was like? Oh, thi. I was like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I thi. I'm thi. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I don't th. I don't the the the they, I don't th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't thi. I don't thi. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't th. I don't th. I'm. I'm this movie. I was like, oh this feels like a Casavetti's film because he's all about like uncomfortable conversations. Okay. So when they referenced it was like, oh, please stop referencing it. Okay, okay, please? And then when Jesse Plymonds is like, oh I'm gonna go into my David Foster Wallace impression now. Yeah, why? This is so weird. But it just felt like, let me tell you about things that I like. Again, like, I'm glad I didn't go to college because I would have had this guy telling you about
Starting point is 00:31:50 all the stuff that he likes all the time. Yeah, but you probably at least like own a copy of it on DVD so you could watch it and be like, okay, now, right? thr. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to th. that. to to to to to to to to to to th. to the. to the. to the. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. to, to to to to toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. the. the. th. the references that it's making. Yeah, I hate that. Yeah, for sure. I have a lot of reasons to feel dumb. I don't need this one, you know. You are one of the least dumb people that I know. Can we talk about why the TV show Soap Opera thing was directed by Robert Zamecas? Can we talk about why? the TVSemek? Why? Leave the TV show soap opera thing was directed by Robert Zamechus. It's a jab at Zamechus? Why, leave the man alone? I don't know. Like, that's brutal. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Why, does he have beef with Zamechus? I don't know. The worst for me is that it made me blurt laugh when I saw them. the worst, I was like, wait, is that how you spell Zamechus? Was it maybe spelled wrong? Is that the joke? I looked it up? No, that's right. Yeah, it was like, it was a really insulting jab and I hope they're friends. I, I, God, I hope so, because I would not be. Certainly after that. But then later, the woman that stars in that is Lucy for a little while. Yes, just very briefly, Yvonne. Yvonne shows up too, like she's one of the phone calls on the...
Starting point is 00:33:12 Right. I don't know. Who were the two women at the Turleytown? I don't know. Those weird sisters or twins or whatever? Who was the young woman? I don't know. You don't have th have th th th th th th th th th th tho th th th? Who was the young woman? I don't know. I don't know. You don't have to go forward.
Starting point is 00:33:49 What does that mean? Who is she talking to? Is that her, is that his subcotch is telling him he doesn't have to kill himself? I don't know? There's too many questions. Too many questions. Also, like what was the dog? Why was the dog? Why was that dog? What? What was the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? the dog? he he he he he he he he he he talk? to? to to to to to he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that dog. that dog. It was, when. It was a dog. It was a dog. It was, when. It was, when. It was, when. It was, when. It was. It was. It was. It was. It was, when. It was, when. It was, when. It was, when. It was, when. And so, like, yeah, it was just, so watching this dog just shake its head over and over and over and over, and I was like, this is really unnerving. And that's in the part of the movie where you're like, oh, this is a horror movie and something terrible is going to happen to her in this house. That's not at all what happens. And it's also because she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she was she was she was she was she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like she was like, she was like she was like she was like she was like, she was like, she was like, she was like, she was like, she s bam, the dog's right in front of the shaking. Where is it normally I can tell? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:26 Yeah, now. Also the weird thing of like the picture being of her and then of him, and it's the funniest fucking picture, like it's just adult Jesse Pleven's face on a little kid. Yeah. Like, with maybe no pants on the there's just stuff like where she looks out the window and there's snow falling on the car but only on the car? Yeah. I'm like, is that, are you, are you trying to say something? This is your college art film?
Starting point is 00:34:50 What is your art? Yes. This is like, I have a TV in here playing static and it's meant to be about capitalism. You know what I mean? This is just a 50 or 60 year old man with a budget making his college art film. Oh man. So yeah, they go to Turley Town, which is the billboard that spoke to her early. Can I tell you one thing that I really like that Tony Colette says, which is like where, in part of this movie where the girlfriend is a gerontologist and she's talking about warehousing
Starting point is 00:35:26 the elderly and when she leaves the room Tony and goes, I don't want to live in a warehouse. And just the way she delivers that line from me so much joy. Like in this shit-ass movie, she is just like such a shining star. And then she's gone and you're like, please come home. It was fun too because she was old lady Tony Colette at that point too. She's eating it up. Yeah, she was loving it. I love her. Yeah, God, man. You think she'll be our friend if we like get enough patrons? Once she sees the tattoo. Maybe the tattoo should be of Tony Colette and the were wolf holding hands. I love that. We'll wheel it into it the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to to to to to the to to to to the to the to to to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to toe. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, to to to to to to to to to to to too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Whatever. It's a, it's Tony Colette and the werewolf holding hands. We'll wheel it into existence. And Tony Collett will have a halo because she's the patron saint. Yes, okay, okay great. Great.
Starting point is 00:36:16 The Lori, the Tony and the Judy. These are our patron saints. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Two tea careers getting bumped off that pedestal, honestly, the more I think about Tony Colette, anyway. So they start talking about points moving through time or being a stationary thing that time moves through. Which is just like such a like high conversation. Did you ever hear the test for this? What's that? Okay, so you have a meeting scheduled for noon.
Starting point is 00:36:49 And your boss calls you and says, hey, the meeting got moved forward by two hours. Mm-hmm. What time is the meeting now? Two? So you see time as moving around you and you stay stationary, whereas my instinct is to say that it's at 10, because, wait?, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, like, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, like, like, thi, thi, like, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, thi, like, like, thi, like, like, like, like, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, th, like, like, th, th, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. that's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, like, whereas my instinct is to say that it's at 10 because, wait, maybe it's the other way around. No, this is a real thing. No, you see yourself as moving through time, okay, and I see myself as stationary and time moves
Starting point is 00:37:21 around me. Possibly the other way around, Regardless, it's a test you can do. This is like we just did one of those Is He Into You quizzes in 17 magazine, but somebody ripped out the page with the answers and we're just trying to guess. Is he into who? Who? Who? Oh? So do they go to Turleytown to get the ice cream?
Starting point is 00:37:47 And they keep making up the song for Turletown and it gets more and more involved every time they talk about it? Yeah. I like when it comes back as like the nightmare cartoon later on to. I loved that cartoon. For sure. I love that style of animation. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:38:04 So there's these two girls working at Turleytown, like blonde, very made up, sort of like cat-eyed, like, for sure. Like, like, mod squad looking, I don't know. They were giving me like, if they had gone into like, he's the book, you book, you're beautiful boy, I've company be. I would have been like, oh yeah, it makes total sense, why not. And they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're, and they're, and they're like, and they're like, and they're like, and they're like, and they're like, and they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. Or, th. th. th. th. they're like, th. And they're like, thi, thi, thi, their, thi. So, thi. So, their, they're like, they're like, they're like, thi. So, they're like, they're like, thi. So,'s the book, you book, you're a beautiful boy, I have been like, oh yeah, that makes total sense. Why not? And they're like fawning all over Jake, kind of? Or they're like looking at him in like a sultry way? Yeah, there's like a flirtation going on and he's really uncomfortable with it. But he also says to his girlfriend that she needs to go up to the window because they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, their, their, their, they, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii's thiii's thi, th like what the fuck is that? Yeah, yeah. What is that? I guess that he's been a creepy old guy to them? I guess. I don't know. I don't know. And so there's another girl working there who's like a more
Starting point is 00:38:51 regular-looking teenage girl. Who's covered in scabs and stuff? Yes. Why? I don't know. don't know. Okay. Because later, because later those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those those the sca th th th the sca th those th those thosks thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes th th the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca the sca. Why? I don't know. Okay. I just have a note that says like what was all over her hand and now his hand. Then I wrote the kid from the football show is doing a great job with this weird Tulsi Town Clown song because he sings it in a creepy voice which I really does. Yeah and they get blizzards basically they're called burrs. That's funny and they are a large movie soda size of ice cream. It's a bucket of ice cream. It's more ice cream than anyone would ever eat without dying. Right and they eat almost none of it yeah. Which is also like I find hard to believe because how are you gonna have ice cream in front of you and only eat two spoonfuls. Nobody does that. Although when it's fucking freezing outside? I'm sorry I'll eat ice cream anytime. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. Nobody does that.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Although when it's fucking freezing outside. I'm sorry, I'll eat ice cream anytime, but I'm a failure. I always wait until there's a straw involved when I'm waiting for them to melt down and then to go to town on it. I don't really like a milkshake. It's a thick shake. But then there's like 20 minutes of discussion about the ice cream melting and getting into the cup holders. In these scenes I thought she looked like a baby Gina Davis. Oh for sure, yeah. But then my next note just says this certainly tiped into extremely tedious. Oh my god, yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:20 And then I have the note that says this is getting less and less understandable and I don't think it's my fault the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I'm have the note that says, this is getting less and less understandable, and I don't think it's my fault. Because I was just really, I was hitting my medicine a bit hard about two hours into this film. It's 100% not your fault. It is, the movie loses any cohesion. Yeah. And to the point of where they go to his high school, because he wants to dump the ice cream and he knows where there's a trash can but he can't put it in that trash can because there's salt in that trash can. Right. Which again is such like a dream thing to happen. Yeah. Like I've got to go
Starting point is 00:40:51 to the bathroom but I can't be here, I can't be there, I can't be you know like, you know, that thing, you know, that thi that that that that that that th, th, th, th, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thrashn, thrashn, thrashn, which is a thrash, which is such, which is such, which is such, which is such, which is such, which is such, which is a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin, which is, which is a thr, which is a thrown, which is such, which is such, which is such, thrown. throwne. throwne. throwne. throwne. throwne. throwne. throwne. thrown, like, which is a throwne. throwne. th definitely get up and I like wake up and I'm like, oh no I gotta go pee right now. I don't dream that much so I think when I do I'm like, oh my god, what is this? Oh, I dream incessantly and extremely vividly. That's so strange. Yeah, yeah. And I can lucidly dream. That's crazy to me. I can't even imagine. that's thr- I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I'm thi. I'm thi thi. I'm thi thi thi thi thi thi. I'm thi. I'm thi thi. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm that that th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. I'm thi. I'm like thi. I'm thi are you talking about? I'll start falling asleep and like before I am fully asleep, I'll already be dreaming. Like when you just have weird thoughts why you're falling asleep?
Starting point is 00:41:31 Is that dreaming? Yeah, but I'll have weird thoughts about like flying? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh, I just thought I had cool ideas. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, then I can't remember them and it bums me out because I'm like, that was a fucking cool idea. Those are literally dreams. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:46 In this episode I learned that I'm not nearly as clever as I think I am. So they go into the high school. And it's a very weird scene where he's like I gotta go to my high school. And it's like down a, like a road through the woods, like an unpaved road. And she's like, how do school buses get down here? This isn't right. Yeah. I would be hard pressed to find my high school without a GPS. Really?
Starting point is 00:42:11 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's like, it's, but again, it's just, but again, like, it's just, it's just a tea. to their toe the too's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. I, th. I, to, to, th. I. I. I. I. I. I. Yeah, to. I. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to, to, to, to, to, to, that you can't, like, yes, you would need a GPS, but if you're trying to remember where it is, it might just be a dirt road in your mind, like that kind of thing. There. But again, you made a movie about it.
Starting point is 00:42:32 So then there's like this awkward scene where he runs off, and she goes to follow him into the school after a while. Right. Which we have to watch in real time. Right. And when she goes in, she meets the adult old man janitor. Who we've seen a couple times throughout the movie, basically just like cleaning up while people have musical practice. Right, he'll like pop in in the middle of a conversation. You're like, where the fuck did you come from? And why are the the, because it's his movie. We are him and he is us and we are all the janitor. Oh yeah. And we all have to kill ourselves at the end. I guess and be naked with a pig dropping
Starting point is 00:43:12 maggots walking in front of us. Big bummer right there. Yeah. There is a full-on, very long ballet sequence. Okay, so let me start by saying I liked the dance. Sure. And then they kept doing it and I don't really like it anymore. And then the janitor comes in and it flips to another scene where they're still dancing and I was like, right back in it. I love this. Okay. I do love ballet. I thought it was great.
Starting point is 00:43:44 Belay and art form that I've never gotten a firm of grasp on. What's not to get? I don't know. I've never understood the artistry of it. They're just twirling. Oh, I get it then. Oh, I get it then. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:54 Yeah. sports. It's not about competition. I just love to watch people do a thing truthfully. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like watching like a big home run hitter just like swing and hit a ball and make it look so easy and hit it like 450 feet. It's gorgeous. Oh yeah, I defy you to watch Leonel Messi at the height of his form scoring a goal and not being like, oh that's a... Nucket chills. Yeah, yeah, yeah it's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a thi. I I'er. I'er. I'er. I's a th. I's a that's a th. I's a th. I's a th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I, that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a t. I, t. I, t. I'm, t. I'm true. I'm true. I'm true. I'm true. I'm true. I'm like like, true. Yeah, true. Yeah, true. Yeah, t It's amazing. Yeah. Such a fucking sucker. Me, not Leon I'm going to say. He probably is too. Yeah, oh yeah, for sure. I also read once if he has a micro penis. I don't know if that's true.
Starting point is 00:44:33 As well as a regular penis or just. No, both, yeah. Well, they did injectthe long, long, long, everything in this movie is long, the long ballet sequence that leads into him being in his car, stripping naked, walking into the school, with a pig walking in front of them and the maggots. Wait, wait, you're just sweeping it. You're sweeping it.
Starting point is 00:44:57 The ballet is telling the story of the young man and the young woman getting married, like falling in love and getting married. Okay. And then the janitor comes in and kills the young man. Oh right, because he's throwing the blood scarves. I loved that. I love it when that happens. I also loved when the veil dropped and landed on her head. I thought that was excellent. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, so then you're to understand that the janitor is ruining everything for himself, I guess, because it cuts to him naked in a truck. Right, right. And then he's walking inside with the cartoon pig in front of him. Now I don't know what happens there. Because my last note, oh no, I have two notes. The second to last one just says, what the fuck now? What's that pig? What is the pig? What is the pig? the pig? It's speaking to him in like a soothing voice.... to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thoom. the the the tho, to, the the to, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the too. too. too. too. truc. truc.e, truc.a.a, togu.a, togu.a, togu.a, togu. togu. the the the the? Who know? It's just a memory again. The pig is speaking to him in like a soothing voice, a friendship voice, and leading him into the school? So
Starting point is 00:45:51 that he can see everyone old who's been in his life I guess. Wait, really? All the people in the crowd are in old makeup. Yes, that's true. And Jesse Plemons goes up and gives a speech to all the people in old makeup and, that's true. And Jesse Plemons goes up and gives a speech to all the people in old makeup and then breaks into song from Oklahoma. But why isn't the person giving the speech the actor playing the janitor? What now? Okay, that's what I want to do. I don't know. He's also doing like a southern lawyer for his acceptance. He's like, you are all my reasons. But why were they in bad old person makeup? Very clearly old person makeup, like theater old person makeup. I guess because all the world's a stage.
Starting point is 00:46:37 I don't know. That's my last note. Jake gives speech to many people in old person makeup. Is anything else happened after that? No, I don't think so. I think that's where it ends. Because everybody gives them a standing ovation and then the movie ends. Wow, wow.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So like, yeah, I saw that it was two hours and 14 minutes and I thought maybe it'll fly by. Mm-hmm. Sure. Sure. You live every minute. Yeah. And is it a horror movie? I think it is until you realize it that it isn't. I think when the twist is revealed, that because it's, I mean it is kind of an interesting concept that our point of view character doesn't actually exist.
Starting point is 00:47:15 Sure. Actually, you know what I feel like this is, I feel like this is Donnie Darko for a new generation, where like teens, or kids in college are gonna see this and be like, oh, I like, get it, the way I felt about Donnie Darko. Sure. If I watch that now, I bet it's fucking dumb as hell. You know what I mean? Just a bubble leading around Jake Jilin'all. But it meant something back then.
Starting point is 00:47:42 For thi thi thi. I feel like thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th. th. tho, th. tho, th. to to to to to to to to to to, to to, th. th. th. th. th. th. tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, than, tho, than, than, than, than, than, to. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda, toda, toda, toda, toda, toda, too. too. too. too. too.. Yeah. I feel like maybe we're just too old for this. Or is this Donnie Darko for the middle-aged set? Are you not old enough yet? I don't think this is for me now. But then again, like what young person knows? Oklahoma or this movie? For sure. Like who are those references for? I think just Charlie Kaufman? Or the or I guess this is based on a book. Fine. That is like apparently infuriating when you get to the end of it.
Starting point is 00:48:11 Oh, you don't say. Man. This movie. Well, at least it's over. At least it's both watching it and recording this episode is over. We have to rate it. Are we going to do like a dance number though? I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that th. tho, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like th. Like, like th. Like, like th. Like th. Like, like th. Like th. Like, like th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. th. th. th. that, th. th. th. that, th. th. that, that, that. Like, that, over. Is it? We have to rate it. Are we going to do like a dance number though? I thought we've been doing that the whole time.
Starting point is 00:48:30 I've just been doing a slow-seated white claw involving dance. Just lightly tap in your foot. Yama. You want to rate it? Sure. You go. Do I think this is a horror movie? No. But I think that there is a horror of memory in it. And I think it's like it's an existential dread film for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:54 But I agree with you, this is not for me. This is for somebody else who wants to parse things differently than I do. Someone wants to dissect this, and that's not for us. For sure. I like talking about movies, obviously. Bit of a hobby. But like, this is just, this is, it might just be beyond me or just not in my interest set. I don't think it's beyond you.
Starting point is 00:49:24 I think it's fair to say it's not in your interest set. I don't think you can't figure out this movie. I think you won't figure out this movie. And it's funny too because I love dream logic. And it's funny because I love dream logic. I love the, you know, all those Argento and fulch movies, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thus, the, th, th, th, thus, the, th, thus, th, thus, thi, thi, tho, the, thi, thi, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi logic. Absolutely. But they have like zombies and stuff in them. They throw maggots of people. Oh man, maggot phone. The maggots that are glued to people's faces.
Starting point is 00:49:57 That woman throwing up and definitely actually throwing up. Go back and listen to our City of the Living Dead episode. That movie is a god-dame treat. Yeah. Shorter than this one, thankfully. But I don't know if I can rate this movie. Yeah. I'll be perfectly honest with you. I hear you. I think it is so beyond my beyond that I'm like, it's so outside of anything that, like, the only thing that I kept thinking this movie made me made me th me me me me me me me me me me me me me me th me th me th me th me th me th me th me th me th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the. the. theved me theved. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the.. the.... th. th.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea. thean. theeeeeeeee. the. the. the. that like, the only thing that I kept thinking this movie made me, the only movie this movie made me think of was Velvet BuzzSaw in a weird way. Also a Tony Collette vehicle. Exactly. And I feel like these are just movies that are like for somebody else.
Starting point is 00:50:39 So I'm going to give this movie 15 Tony Colettes. Oh man, that's a high rating. But it's like not a rating at all. But it's Tony Colette waving for a really long time. Yeah. What about you? I also feel hard-pressed to give it a number but I'm going to I'm going to give it it... I'm going to give it a three because I really hated it. However, it might be for you. You know, I've given a lot of low ratings to movies that are for somebody. So, you know, please don't allow me to dissuade you from watching this, although we definitely spoiled the shit out of it, so if you didn't watch it, bad on you.
Starting point is 00:51:23 I will have to say that I did try to give Katie an out from watching this movie. I should have taken it. I was like we could do something dumb and fun fun fun fun fun fun fun and dumb they were dumb and fun and I was like no no let's do this thing I've already selected. I didn't want I had anything to say about this movie and apparently I did. Yeah, it's just the word that jumps into my brain is pretentious. Oh, a hundred percent. And I don't like thinking that. Neither do I. Because I feel like it's a pretentious thing to call things pretentious. Uh, it's just a lot. It's just a lot. It's kind like kind like hipster, it doesn't really mean anything. Right. But it's also like, though this movie's pretentious as fuck.
Starting point is 00:52:08 And even outside of all the weirdness of it and the pretensions of it, like, just the extended scenes of people talking about nothing. Sure. In like a, like, just lightly veiled hostility, is really agonizing to watch. For sure. And I feel like if he had just been like, hmm, John Casavetti's movies. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:31 You know, like, oh, that's an interesting thing to drop in there. Right. Let me give you all of this woman's thoughts on John Cass of it's as she like changes personalities and then suddenly he's wearing hoop earrings and smoking a cigarette. Why? And doing like a New York accent. Yes. It's so weird. It's so dumb. Also true. Yeah. Yeah. It's just not for me. Who is this for? I'm gonna take one of the Tony Colettes away. 14 Tony Colettes. 14 Tony Colettes. I just feel like 14 Tony Colettes. I just feel like 14 Tony Colettes. I just feel like 14 Tony Colettes. I just feel like 14 Tony Colettes. I'm. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I just th. I just th. I just th. I just th. I th. I th. I th. I just th. I th so so so th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. It so so so so so so so th. It so so th. It so so th. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So, so th. So, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. th. thi. th. th so th so th so th you would give something really good. It's true, I feel like ice cream gets 14 Tony Colettes. I was literally thinking about donuts, so that's good. I can't take it back now though. No. It's not like that can be done.
Starting point is 00:53:13 It's not like to thank some of the people who have supported us on Petroion. You do it I'll do a little background music. Okay. Da da da da da da da. I don't know if I can. Starting point is 00:54:45 active military service. Oh, that's amazing. Josh, thank you for your service. And I hope you enjoy your retirement. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:55 These are all people who have support us on Patreon, you can. It's Patreon.com. Back slash Where Off Ambulance. Just go there and see what it can do for you. But mostly we've got an action movie podcast. Next week we'll be recording our, and this is like way after that. By the time you hear this, we'll have two, two action movies up. Probably, or at least very close to. I'm not pulling out the end of September we'll have our second one out. And it will be? Terminator. Chosen by our Patron's. Yeah. Patron's. This is so hard for me.
Starting point is 00:55:30 But if you don't want to spend the money, you don't have the money, don't worry about it. We're going to do where off ambulance for free until one of us is dead. For sure. Yeah. In perpetuity. said that. You know it's going to be me. I thought we had an agreement but okay. This movie really bum me out man. Yeah you are. When I got here you were sad. So speaking of movies that are not going to bubun me out, what are we doing next week for our 300th episode? Can you believe we've done 299 episodes? So wild. So my original suggestion for the 300th episode was one that was suggested to us on the subreddit, which was the Stephen King
Starting point is 00:56:17 shining mini series starring Brian from Wings. For sure. I suggested it to Alan, didn't hear back for about a week, in which point he said, it's not streaming anywhere. I was trying to find it. I was trying to find it. I was, I was, I was, I was, I was like.. I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I was like, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I was trying to find it. I was like, can I find some DVD somewhere that's not going to cost me more money than I want to spend on this goddamn movie? I mean I bought it at the record exchange like 14 years ago accidentally because I thought it was the real shining. And they always stoned behind you when you when you were the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thoe. I th. I thoes. I th. I th. I th. I th. And they always stood behind you when you were in the cases they'd unlock it for you and then stand behind you and you're like I guess I have to fucking buy this now and I got out to the car and I was like I own this fucking DVD. Have you ever watched it? No I've watched bits of it.
Starting point is 00:56:52 I've watched enough to know that it's gonna be a lot of preparation. I've watched enough to know that it's to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be the the to be to be to be to be their their their to be to be to be to be to be to be to to the to to the to the the the the the to the the to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. the their. their. their. their. their. That's right, well that's gonna have to be a lot of preparation so you need to let me know when you're not gonna be able to make it. This thing that we've always predicated on both of us being here. True. You're are we going to do for 300? And I just said, automatically, 300. A movie I knew nothing about, except that it was titled 300. I said, is it a horror movie? And he said, no. So we're going to do it.
Starting point is 00:57:37 I'm so excited about this. Are you? It's going to be so painful. I'm like suddenly, I'm suddenly nervous about it. It's oh my god Like I love the fact that you know nothing about it Is it a is it a story of it's like a classic story right like a Greek mythology story? Is it the Trojan War? It's a it's a story about 300 Spartan soldiers that take on an entire army? There's gonna be a lot of sword fighting, isn't there? Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:58:07 And a lot of men screaming, this is Sparta. Oh, fuck. How long is it, though? Oh, I don't know. Oh, I'm going to look it up. I mean, like, we don't have to do the first thing that pops into my head. For our comedy podcast, I think it's very funny to do this movie.
Starting point is 00:58:29 Ah, I mean, great. Uh, how long is this? One hour and 57 minutes? Shorter than the movie we just did. By a full 30. Uh, where they? No, well, whatever. Fn't. No, well, whatever. Fuck it. All right.
Starting point is 00:58:45 If we change our minds, we'll do something else. No, it's too late. We already told them. It's live, they know. We can never go back at anything we tell them. Live on tape delay. Yes, 14 Tony Collette's and 300. So yeah, we're going to do 300 to you, that's all it matters. Oh, God, this is so fun. I love it. We're doing a great job.
Starting point is 00:59:06 You guys are all doing a great job. We're getting through it. We're all getting through it together. We promise no more movies about suicide, okay? And I've done this whole whawlifed than't. You're just staring at my man boob. I'm just looking at his, he's like, real surly looking face, which is expertly drawn by Justin Gray. You can get this t-shirt tank top, cell phone case, tapestry question mark. Pillow!

I don't know who cares. Oh, and I'm kind of off social media right now, so if we're slow getting back to you on that stuff. Oh, Alan's saying that because he knows I'm not going to do it. No, because historically I have answered stuff on social media. And I've kind of pulled back because you should absolutely take a break. I should absolutely pull out. the the the the the the the the the the the th. my weight, problem is I'm not going to. I do like that you gave me the password to the Instagram though because I've just been thinking about things I can post.
