Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 304- Halloween (2007)

Episode Date: October 26, 2020

IT'S HALLOWEEN WEEK, BABIES! Grab a pumpkin bucket, fill it with candy and dress like the less-popular sister from "Frozen" (just me?) and join us for yet another trek into the Halloween franchise. So...rt of. We're talking about the 2007 reimagining of "Halloween" by Rob Zombie, and PS- Allen wants you to know that he regrets not calling him "Robert Zombert" in the episode. It's the little things that keep us going. Anyway, special topics for your consideration include: substances that can and cannot help this film, "Michael Myers: Portrait of a Serial Killer," jerking it to poverty, unwieldy sports metaphors and a very upsetting revelation about "Car Talk." Do you like kinda shitty movies about Michael Myers? Give Episodes 201 and 202 a shot- they're "Halloween: H20" and "Halloween: Resurrection," respectively. Do you like kinda shitty movies that aren't about Michael Myers? There's always Episode 52- "Halloween III: Season of the Witch." You know, in retrospect, that one might not have been so bad. Starting point is 00:00:00 It's the most wonderful time of the year. Rob zombies are flowing. And no one is knowing what he did to this movie. I was wrong. It's not enjoyable. I was 24. Boom, bum, ba-dum, bum, bum, bum, bum, bom, budum, budom, bum, bum, bum, bum, boom, bum. I'm saying, I realize it isn't the song that I was just singing, but Dracula still slaps. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:55 I think, Dracula, dragula, I mean, Dracula, slaps, too. Sure. I think white zombie. Is that white zombie. Rob Zombie is Dregula, Thunder Kiss 65, which was what the riff we were just doing is White Zombie. I very much enjoy White Zombies catalog. Which I feel like they had a very cypress hill thing going where all the songs kind of sound the same. But they're all kind of catchy.
Starting point is 00:01:14 And they all are made better with weed. Oh yeah. Wow, that's so true. What isn't made better with weed? Can I tell you actually? Yeah, my film. I drank three beers while watching this movie. Oh damn. What kind of beers? They were the, those warlock beers, the 8% alcohol bumpkin, yeah. Yeah. I thought, I was like, all right, you gotta let go your hang-ups.
Starting point is 00:01:44 You love Halloween, you gotta let your hang-ups, you love Halloween, you gotta let that shit fly, buddy. Woof, I did not do that, I did not do that successfully. No, so I went into it being like, okay, I have to defend my stance on this because I recall this being an enjoyable movie, and then about, you know, part way in, I was like, well, I don't think this is defensible for me for me me me me me th. for me. for me. Then I started thinking like maybe if it were a standalone movie and not part of a beloved franchise, it could be enjoyable. But even then it really isn't. Yeah. Because you wouldn't care that much about his lead up. Right. Right. Right. Yeah. If it was Rob Zombies
Starting point is 00:02:16 is a tho-sumbi's Halloween spooktacular. And it was a different character. Yeah. But you would be like, why are you telling me so much about his childhood? Like Rob zombie. Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob, Rob, th. Rob, th. Rob, th. Rob, th. Rob, th. Rob, th. Rob, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. telling me so much about his childhood? Yeah. Like, Rob Zombie's starting on second base by using characters we all already care about. Sure, but, see, is he though, or is he... Is he a handicap by it? I don't know what that means, I don't know what that means, but it seems actually insensitive, the more I say it out handicap. I don't know what that means, but it seems actually insensitive, the more I say it out loud. Let's call it a birdie. That's a good thing, let's call it a bogey. Because he is trying to remake one of the most beloved slatcher films of all time. Yeah. And also apparently trying to make a movie called Michael Myers Portrait of a Serial Killer. Yeah, it's definitely a mashup, huh?
Starting point is 00:03:06 Yeah. Maybe we should do that next week. Whenever we need another movie. So Halloween. Halloween. Halloween, Halloween, Halloween. Halloween. Halloween.
Starting point is 00:03:22 We did that very softly. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I have to say that I appreciate Rob Zomby's restraint on not having every character in this movie be like a hillbilly with a room in their home with jars full of yellow liquid that contain like animal parts. So you know this is second draft. Yeah, I do appreciate that he went through it with a fine-chooth comb. Something I appreciate Sherry Moon Zambi not using her screechy voice. I think she is a very good voice actor.
Starting point is 00:03:53 For sure. But her face is just not making the expressions that her mouth is making, you know? For sure. Yeah. But she was just like I'm a mom in this. Let's go with mom tones. I find her very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm a. I'm a th. I'm a th. I'm a th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm th. th. th. I'm. I'm th. I'm. I'm th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm a mom in this, let's go with mom, mom tones. I really enjoy that. Her very likable actually as an actor. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My first note is I still contend Rob Zambay and I would get along really well. Oh my gosh, I think you'd be buds. As long as he wasn't like, who'd you think of Halloween?
Starting point is 00:04:14 I tho-of-the-2018 movie, when Jamie Lee Curtis was like, he was never my brother or whatever, she says. It's like, I always hated that part of the urban legend. That must have really a chap to rob zombies ass. I think so. I liked that because they were like, yeah, none of the other stuff happened. Right. Yeah. Except we'd be losing big, beautiful breasts. Big beautiful melons.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Big beautiful melons. Yeah, that's H2O, right? And Gini Lee Curtis does not appear in Resurrection. That's Tyber Banks. Correct. You often mix the two. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th th th th th th tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the other, the other, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that, the the the the the the the the the the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho, no, no, no, no, no, the the the the tho, that, that, that, no, that, that, that, no, that, no, no, no, the the the the the the the tho, that's H2O, right? Yeah, yeah. And Genie Lee Curtis does not appear in resurrection. That's Tyra Banks. Correct. You often mix the two of. They're both very into Activa. Activia? Activia. Get your shit creating yogurt right. Oh, Janie Lee. You don't need the money. Why are you doing that? Yogurt ads. Maybe she does. Maybe Christopher Gus isn't pulling his wings. He's a lord or something. Isn't he the lord of a... That doesn't give you no monies? Really? Yeah. According to all of the Jane Austin movies I've watched.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Fair, fair, fair, fair. Someone in the line already spent the money. Yeah, yeah. Everyone's in debt. Why does this movie start with a quote from one of the people in the movie? I don't know. I don't know, from a character in a film that we've yet to meet. Okay. So this is Haddenfield reimagined through a Rob zombie lens. Maybe Eleanor Roosevelt was busy. I was drinking my beer and didn't tuck say it until you started talking. I'm sorry. We need an Eleanor Roosevelt pause light. Pause for Roosevelt? Yes, this is Hadnfield Reimagined as a not sort of stereotypical suburb as it is in the first movie, which is very like
Starting point is 00:06:30 everything is cookie cutter in that movie. Yeah. And this is showing you it's more of a class issue at the beginning. Certainly. Although I hate the implication that Sherry Moon zombie is a bad mother because she's a dancer or a sex worker. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's terrible. Yeah, it's terrible. I mean everything, like the fact that what is it, Michael Forsyth, is that the guy's name? Bipid-bibb, hold on one second, William Forsyth, the boyfriend or whatever, he's, because he's unemployed, he's a shitty dude. Yeah. Like it's all all like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. that's all, that's all, that's all, that's all, that's all, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's it's, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the. the, the, the. the. the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. they. they. that, that, the they-a, they-a, they-a, they-a, they-a, the the. Like it's all like these stereotypes of and maybe that's what he's going for like. I mean he does love to jerk off to poverty. For sure. So for sure. I mean I guess this is good for him to do that too. And he loves poverty as reason to become murderer. Yes I don't know where he gets that leap. But okay. Well I do. It's from 70s horror movies. That's true.
Starting point is 00:07:26 No, you're right, it is a precedent. Yana. We said the precedent. I, this opening scene where everybody's screaming at each other is horrible. It's so uncomfortable. It just immediately ratchets up your blood pressure. Sure. You used to live next door to a couple who fought a lot,
Starting point is 00:07:45 which was really annoying, but one morning at like 8 a.m. we heard her screaming at him, something like, well, no one made you fuck some bitch you made it a firehaw. Which was essentially the fight that the two of them were having. I cannot hear the words fire hall without hearing her in my brain. Then I turned to Rob and said, what did I do to deserve this? And Rob said, you probably picked this.
Starting point is 00:08:22 Now it was me. It was me. It was us. It was me. Don't take credit for my failures. Leave them to me. Yeah, with them arguing over money, my note was, wow, Rob Zombie. Yeah. No, no, no, the guy's checking out the, his, uh, girlfriend's, dumber.
Starting point is 00:08:43 You know, I hate that, but I do fucking love the's dumper. Dumper. You know I hate that but I do fucking love the word dumper. I really do. It's like a I personally ate asses but I also want to let you know that I know that they shit. Yeah right. It's an exit let's be honest. And we see that young Michael Myers has killed a rat. His pet rat, not a rat that he found. Sure. His pet rat. He's talking very sweetly to it and then he murders it.
Starting point is 00:09:10 As all good serial killers do. Even later, like when Sherry Moonzombie gets called into the principal's office and they're like, look what we found. And she's like, big deal. He found a dead cat. cat but like it was in his bag. She's unfazed by that. She's not only like big deal, she's like, you took my dick, you found a dead cat. Go to hell, fuck you, don't call me anymore. My son rules. Your school drools. I'm out of here. Shayman was on the out. She was wrong to be the fair. She was 100% wrong.
Starting point is 00:09:40 She was so, so, so, so, so wrong. Oh and Michael always wears masks. Right. Yeah. You know that's I was thinking about this too if it were a standalone film how shoe-horned-in the masks would be. You know you would be like why are they spending so much time on this thing that hardly pays off. It would make more sense if this was a biopic of one of the people of Slipknot. I love all of these like late 90s early 2000s new metal references we've been getting in lately. I think it's a good look for us. Because like later when we see Michael's room, he looks like he's doing mask for
Starting point is 00:10:22 slip not. Like there's like the hot dog guy's nose, mask, and all that stuff. What's a hot dog guy? One of the drummers has like a really long, like wiggly nose, it looks like a hot dog. What? That's a horrible thing to say. On his mask, not his real face. Oh, well, whoa, wow. Yeah, I just got real in defense of people with thi thoing thoing thoing tho tho tho thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, like thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi. I thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiopting my luck. I would never describe your nose as long and wiggly. No it's very it's very sturdy. She shook her head while she was saying. Yeah it didn't go anywhere.
Starting point is 00:10:55 So Michael Myers is a child, he has a rough upbringing, his sister's promiscuous, she has affecting him in some way. Sure, because you know... No I don't. He has a rough upbringing. His sister's promiscuous. She is. That's affecting him in some way. Sure, because, you know. No, I don't. Me neither. This all felt very, have you seen Henry portrait of a hero killer? Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:16 But it's been a long time. This all felt very much like that, of like, kind of like, oh, don't you feel bad for Henry? His mother was terrible. Yeah. And this is like, oh, look at the terrible things that have happened to Michael Myers. You don't want to humanize Michael Myers, I don't think. I don't think so either. But I also found, like, I find Michael Myers in the O.G. So much scarier because you, like, you know, His family looks like a picture postcard of a nuclear family. You don't know anything about anything that happened to him.
Starting point is 00:11:47 He is just a monster. It's like, it's Ted Bundy or Dahmer or something like that where you're just like, on face value they look like very regular dudes. And that makes them all the more terrifying. And that was Michael Myers, he was just like a cute little kid. And in this movie he's also a cute little thol thol thi tho o o o o o o o o' tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho-a thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, he thi, he's thi, he's thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's thi, th. He's th. He's th. He's th. th. He's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's just just just thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. He's just just just thi. He's thi. He's th. And that was Michael Myers. He was just like a cute little kid. And in this movie, he's also a cute little kid. Yeah, but he's older for one thing, I think. And yeah, I agree with you like.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And he loves kiss. And he loves kiss. And he loves kiss. Yeah, the soundtrack just be the shape. Sure. We don't need a backstory for him. Every time in any of the other movies that they've put a backstory in for him, it sucks. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Like there's one of them where he is part of like an ancient curse of, even the thing, like I think it's in the second movie where we find out that he's supposed to be Jamie Lee Curtis's brother. Is it into? I thought it wasn't until later. I thought I was reading a thing where I said it was in today. I have been, you could be right. Yeah. More fun and more scary to not know why she got picked. Yeah. And the first one is like, oh he saw her. Yeah. And lathe on her and now has to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th th th th th th th th th th th th thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu that thu tho tho tho tho tho tho that's that's that's that's that's that it that it that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. that. that. that. that. that. that. tho. tho. I tho. I tho. I tho. I tho. I the. I the. I th terrifying. I feel like there's a thing in horror of just like, you've got to always expand, right? Expand the universe. Sure. Sometimes I just think that's a bad idea. For sure. Yeah. And I think like, it's almost an impossible task of what he was setting up.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Yeah. I'm sure they were like, you have to? Why would they want to? Because these movies get, this movie made a ton of money. Sure. Because it had him attached and it was Halloween and Halloween movies make money. Yeah. Until they don't and then they do again. Sorry resurrection. But even this Michael Myers is very brutal. Like that scene of him beating a child to death with a tree branch, I was like, oh okay, okay this is th a th a th. th. th. th. this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is this is thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the m. the m. the the to tooooooo too too to to tooo toooo tooooo to too him beating a child to death with a tree branch, I was like, oh, okay, this is two kids, one of whom is begging for his life. And Michael Myers has just jumped out from like behind a tree, holding this branch and screaming and it's nuts. It feels nuts. Like it feels hard to watch. I felt like there was a really missed opportunity here, because there's a scene where everything stops and
Starting point is 00:14:05 Michael's just looking at the kid. Yeah. I really wanted him to do the Michael Myers head tilt. Yes. That would have been a great thing of him just been like, huh? Yes. What's going on here? You guys can feel that? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I just did it too. I felt like, oh, that would have been great. But thi th th th thi thi thi thi. I thi. I thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. tip. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I tie. I te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. been great. But then, you know, you're just telling Rob Zomni what you would have done in a movie. Right, and to be fair, I wouldn't have done Halloween, so, you know. Also I hate the song Love Hurts. Oh, not a Nazareth fan? I hate that song more than most other songs. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:35 It's a weird song to pick for your song to going to get a lot of maybe she was tired like that's a real slow mover you know we're gonna need you to slow it down for this next one yeah so that we cut back to the house where Judith is about to bone down on a dude that I only call scuzzy bro I called him bud nick he's just like I need a 1978 dirt bag got you here Here, it's me. It's one of the like stage hands or whatever lighting grip people. I don't know anything about making movies, obviously. It's like, my nephew's one of those, hold on. Kevin.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Kevin's just sitting there with a copy of like a yes LP, rolling a joint in the gatefold. Yep. I'm in. Yeah. I'm in. Kevin and Judith are going to fucking he puts on the Michael's Michael Myers mask and I was like why is this happening right now? Whose mask is that? Why does this kid have a William Shatner mask flipped inside out? Why? And you like, the scene is built to make you pity Michael Myers? Like his sister is built to make you pity Michael Myers. Like, his sister is supposed to take him trick-treating, she leaves him alone, his mother's out dancing so she's not home.
Starting point is 00:15:51 His Ronnie. Ronnie is like berating him and being a monster. He has nothing. And he killed somebody that day. So he's, you know, kind of atoning for that, I guess, in his brain, or maybe not. It's hard to say. And I do, I mean, William Forsyth is the first of the casting in this movie that's like, um, fucking Rob Zambi, love 70s movies, because he's like a stalwart of the like 70s movies. I was shocked that Malcolm McDowels in this film.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Oh yeah. I thought he was excellent in it the the the the their. I really did. I enjoyed his performance. His wig was doing a lot of the heavy lifting in the beginning. I mean, I think he looked better with the wig than his real hair. That's just like my, my, my look. I'm looking forward to where my hair is that white. Yeah. Just dark white. Yeah, yeah, that'd be cool. It'll get there.
Starting point is 00:16:38 It'll get there. But yeah, like, you know, William Forsyth, Udo Keir, Clint Howard, Danny Treho. Why is Danny Treho in this film? Why wouldn't he be? I mean, when he showed up, I was like, wait. And my personal favorite, Dee Wallace showing us on this movie. So I think her character has some mental problems in this movie. Oh, and Ken Foray, the Dead, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, William Forsyth gets his throat slit, which I thought you would like, as a person
Starting point is 00:17:11 who loves the throat slitting. And I was just, I like, I was watching that just being like, what the fuck Rob zombie? This is a kid. Like, that kid's mom was on set, you know what I mean? Yeah. That is fucked. And it's also like, what's wrong with the, like, as jacked as this sentence I'm about to say is, what's wrong with his first kill being his sister? Why does he have to build up to killing his sister? Like in the first movie, like, that's, yeah. This kid cracked and killed his sister. That's weird. But she was like the pinnacle in th, yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, that, that, that, that, that, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, like, like, pinnacle. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She's the the yes. The climax. Ew. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Also again, children. And also like. They're showing
Starting point is 00:18:00 all these newsreel clips of the body being found and all the stuff and they're like the nude body of Judah but clearly she wasn't nude she came out wearing the same clothes she got killed in and I was like Rob zombie not only are you a grosso but you're not even paying attention to the details it's not but also him groping his sister isn't the grossest happen that thing that happens around this scene. What is? That kid seemingly enjoying eating a circus peanut. I like circus peanuts. I'll tell you what, Alan. Yeah. Haven't met a candy I don't like. I'll say bad things about take five. But you know I'm gonna eat it. I love every candy there is. Oh, that's beautiful. Oh, ACAB. All candies are beautiful. I can't take credit for that my friend Perry said it. Oh my god, had he not, I would say we should make a t-shirt that says that. I'll ask him if that's okay.
Starting point is 00:18:49 If you'd like to hear Perry, check out the silence of the lambs episode. Dr. Lector. Dr. Lector. So yeah, he kills Ronnie. He kills the scuzzy boyfriend with a really brutal, beat him the death with a baseball bad scene. Gross. And then he stabs his sister, who stumbles and gets stabbed and gets stabbed a bunch of times. Yeah. Fuking sucks. But she is listening to Blue Oisture Calt so that's pretty nice.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Is that a good way to go? It's how I've always wanted to go. Yeah. to. Yeah. Yeah. to to to to go. to go. to go. to go. to go. to go. to to go. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th th th th th th th th thoom. thi. thi. thoom. thoom. the the the th. th. th. the th. the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. t t t t t t t t t t t t t t tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. th. th. th. th. th. th. th don't know. Did you think he was going to kill the little baby? No, because I figured it had to be Jamie Lee Curtis. Uh, so he ends up in an institution. He's very talky, which I don't like at all. Sure. He's just chat, chat, chat in the Malcolm McDowell, who's his doctor, Samuel Lumas, a baby Donald Pleasance, I guess, or an old Donald Pleasance. I guess he's a baby Donald Pleasance at the beginning. It's a bit confusing. It's very confusing.
Starting point is 00:19:53 And Danny Trejo as the janitor, later to be the orderly. Yeah, I was confused on what his role was here at the Institute. Well, the one guy's like, hey, because it's like 17 years later, he's like, when we see Danny Treho, and the new piece of shit, and the new piece of shit is like, hey man, you really worked your way up through this institution. It's like, that's hilarious exposition. It really is. The new piece of shit I was convinced was Big Pete from Pete and Pete. It's not. I'm glad it wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. th. th. th. the the the the new. I was the new. I was the new. I was the new. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced. I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced I was convinced was convinced was convinced I from Pete and Pete. It's not, I'm glad it wasn't. I wouldn't want to see him behaving in this way. No. So Michael starts making all these masks while he's in the institution out of paper mache.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Can I read you a note? Yeah, no, maybe I was wrong about this. Then my next note says, had to take a break to order Halloween supplies, because I spent about an hour mid-movie texting, my cousin Vicki to figure out our Halloween costumes so oh nice got those ordered I'm back in the film right now I'll tell you what attention lost no tension gain more attention of what Halloween stuff you're going to buy right like what size do you want what are you guys going to be?
Starting point is 00:21:06 Anna from Frozen because both of our daughters are being Elsa so we're going to be two Elsa's and two Anna's and I will be turning in my punk card momentarily. Mom cards better. Is it though? It's got more street crowd. No it certainly does not. Better fashion? All I wear is tie-dye. Do you see my tie-to get to him and it seems like Michael has just disassociated from the entire event of murdering everyone. Yeah, he's just very like, matter of factly, like I didn't do that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:54 And then it seems like being in the institution makes him go silent, basically. Sure, the fact that he can't go home with his mom, thoats him every week. Yeah, until she stops. Well, thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. So, thi. So, thi. thiiiiiiiiiiii. thiiiiii. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi. So, the fact that he can't go home with his mom, which is very sad. It is very sad, and his mom goes and visits him every week. Yeah, until she stops. Well, okay, so this, it's very heartbreaking to see her do this over and over in a way that like is honestly very touching. You're like, oh, Rob Zombie. This is good. Yeah, yeah. And then he has her, it is bad, Rob Zombie.
Starting point is 00:22:25 It is bad. While she's watching family movies, it was just like, Rob, a zombie! What are you doing, sir? Do you think they're happy? He and Sherry Moon? Zombie? I hope so, too. Yeah. I mean, I've said it before. I will say, I will say, I've th said it th said it th said it th said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said it th. I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've I've I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've I've said I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said I've said it before, I will say it again. When you listen to our House of Thousand Corpses, you will hear me say, watch the Rob Zombie Cribbs episode. It's one of my favorite things.
Starting point is 00:22:49 I keep forgetting to do that. It's got to be somewhere. It's great because he has the VHS room, the laser disc room, and the DVD room. Again, I think I would get along because we're both just nerds. Yeah. I have the note we get some racism, but I don't remember what that is, because now we've jumped 15 years later. I think this is when Big Pete, who I'm going to call Big Pete, but is not Big Pete, is saying to Danny Trejo, like, oh, you people, your people. Your people.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Yeah. Yeah. on the dirt floor, yeah. And at this point Dr. Lombus has quit. He cannot go any further with this. He's written a book about Michael Myers. He's like going on a speaking tour too, so he's making bank on Michael. Yeah. Weird Michael's hair gets so dark. Oh you know when he get older. You stop being Swedish? Because that kid is definitely Scandinavian, right? It seems like dig or something something? Of course it is, because he is Nordic. So then we meet Malachi from Children of the Corn, who is friends with new piece of shit, aka Big Pete. Did not realize that was Malachi? Yeah. And then of course we get the fucking double rape of a woman with mental issues.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Brutal. I did not remember this being in here and I was so sad. I was so fucking sad. It is absolutely brutal. And gratuitous. And they never like go back to her. She, you never see her again after that shot. Why would you? Why would you? I was disgusted and appalled. It's also like, oh, well, maybe this is going to share the last bit of humanity and Michael is going to kill these men because they're doing this awful thing. No, he kills them because they toucest. Yeah. It is, I don't, it's fucking sucks. Yeah, it fucking
Starting point is 00:24:48 sucks. For sure. It fucking sucks. That's all. Mm-hmm. And not only that, why the hell would they antagonize this man? Like what? He is, oh, I'm gonna say low-end estimate, 17 foot 90. He's the biggest human being I've ever seen. I like when he goes up against Big Joe Grizzly later. Big Joe Grizzly is clearly a very large man and he's looking at like Michael Myers' nipples. Yeah, Ken for it is no slouch. No, he is not. I like that he's reading Skank magazine.
Starting point is 00:25:23 It's Swank magazine. Why do I always get that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that he's reading Skank magazine. It's Swank magazine. Why do I always get this wrong? Is it possible that I'm illiterate? Or just don't recognize the letter K? Well, in your defense, I believe the W was covered up by a set of rests. You were probably just like, is that a real? Oh yeah, Swank was like a thing. No, Swank was like a thing. I think that they invented Skank magazine for this. No, Swank was a thing.
Starting point is 00:25:47 I hate myself. Swank and we and, what is it, cherry wall? When you say we is, you mean like French? The French? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, no. No, these are all the gross portmags I would find near the train tracks in my neighborhood. I 100% don't believe in Woodsborn.
Starting point is 00:26:07 I know everybody says they found it, but no, I'm sorry. I've never been that close to Woods, I guess. It was near the mattress that was kept near the train tracks. Oh, God. The suburban nightmare I grew up in. But so throughout this we've seen that then dn, then, then, then, then, th, th, th, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, tho, tho, tho, tho, the, the, the, the, the, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea, thea, thea, this we've seen that Danny Dreeho is like the one person who's nice to him. Right he's he's being kind to him he stops Big Pete from antagonizing him at points. Yeah and by all accounts Danny Trio is a great guy. He seems amazing. Yeah. He owns like donut shops and stocups and stuff like
Starting point is 00:26:37 he just does Danitrio stuff he's cool. All right. But yeah he's like super nice to him, and then why does Michael Myers kill him? I don't know. I guess that's the point is Michael Myers a DGAF, you know? Because he, yeah, he goes through the hospital and kills everybody. Even poor Gloria at the front desk, you know? It becomes a little ridiculous. Yeah, I mean, this film was clearly very focused on having a high body count. Because right now, we're like, like, thiiii maybe, thi maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, thiiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, this film was clearly very focused on having a high body count. Because right now, we're like not halfway through. And we are at maybe eight to ten bodies. Yeah, yeah. If, even, it could be even higher, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:13 And we're still in the back story. Right. We're in the right timeline for what's about to happen from the first movie. Right. This is the opening scene of the first movie, but we're still like building up to that. This is the opening scene of the first movie. We have not yet met Laurie Strode. So he escapes, he meets Joe Grizzly in a bathroom. Joe Grizzly is great because if I feel like Rob Zambush is like, I'm gonna write a thing for Kent Foray. Yeah, it's gonna be fu funny. It's a very good cameo by him.
Starting point is 00:27:47 He's not surprised of that man is so much larger than him. He stands up and he's like, because you know guys like that are that big, you might be this way as a very big man. Are used to just standing up and Myers is 17 feet tall. Michael Myers is the what in that situation. Yeah. And then he kills Joe Grizzly, who sadly never gets to take that final shit, which bummed me out quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:28:14 He probably did after. But he steals his, this is how he gets his jumpsuit. He takes. So they must have Michael the m m m mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi mi. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. the next. th. th. the next. the next. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. I.uit. He takes, so they must have been of comparable size, because it's not like Michael was walking around in clam diggers. No, because yeah, the next shot is of him walking out of the bathroom stall, and the hems are grazing the boots. Yeah, yeah. No, they would not be.
Starting point is 00:28:37 I just saw them standing next to each other. There was a tailor in that the bathroom the bathroom the bathroom that was able to help him out. So finally we meet Lori Strode, and her mother D. Wallace, and her dad, Bill Scully Jr. from the X-Files. Is he? Yeah. Okay. Scully's brother. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:28:57 Yeah, no, he's a real asshole, Bill Scully. He hates Mulder. Well, you're spooky. I love his completely inattentative lifestyle. Yeah, he's great. Her family, her like, her family is very cute and very nice. Yeah. Which is supposed to break your heart. Right, which later I will have extreme issues with Rob's only over this.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Okay. I also have to say this is not my Laurie Strode. She's like making lewd comments at her mom and she's being very dismissive of Tommy. And I just felt like, this is not the lorry, I know. Yeah, there's a, you get a little bit later of her and Tommy having that like babysitter, baby city like, as they say. But, not baby city. But like, the, yeah, I do, she's so like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, But like the yeah, I do she's so like standoffish with the mid for like all right Tommy yeah yeah yeah yeah that's fine Tommy.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Yeah it's interesting because at the beginning she's being like the thing she says to her mother is very upsetting where she's like talking about an creepy old man and putting her finger through the whole of a bagel to her mother? Dee Wallis? I kind of liked that. Yeah. Later in the movie, we're like meant to believe that she's sort of the wholesome friend
Starting point is 00:30:15 who covers for you and doesn't do the wrong thing, like Jamie Lee Curtis. But she kind of can't have it both ways. Like the scene right before she covers you, she's tha, tha, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, thi, like, like, like, to, like, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, to, thi. Like, thi. Like, to, to, thi. Like, to. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, it both ways. Right, like the scene right before she covers for you, she's dry-humping her friend. Yes, right. Oh, man. Her dad's like a real estate agent or something and has her go drop off something at the old Myers residence. She drops it through the mail slot, and Michael Myers just picks it up and sniffs it? Like, sniffing the mail slot and Michael Myers just picks it up and sniffs it like sniffing the correspondence like what it's also funny because when she walks
Starting point is 00:30:49 up he's standing on the roof yeah it's like ma'am and then seconds later he's at the front door how did he did he fall through it's pretty rickety it's three stories it's a long drop to the first floor. If he had fallen through Rob Zomb, would have had to show us him falling. Absolutely. So we meet her friends Linda and Annie, who are great. I thought the three of them were actually very good with these three actors, and I looked them up and they all do seemingly only horror movies, but they do like 12 of them a year. Oh really? Yeah. And th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th do like 12 of them a year. Oh really? Yeah. And Annie is 30. No. Yes. Good on her. Fooled by them titties. Tidies. Come. Second half of this movie should just be teenage titties. Teenage titties. I thought you were going with teeny teeny teeny. No, no. I don't know why I keep stuttering on the word teenage. Teenage titties. Teenage. Teenage. Teenage. Teenage. Teenage. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I tiny. I ti. Yeah. Yeah. I ti. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I ti. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I ti. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I tiny. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I ti. I t. I t. I t. I t. I t. I t. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th you were going with teeny teeny teeny. No, but they are all teeny. I don't know why I keep stuttering on the word teenage.
Starting point is 00:31:47 Teenage titties. No.com. No.com. No.com. Teenage ditties. I'm sure that exists. We see Dr. Lumis going back. like, oh my god, he's gone, you did this. And it's fucking Clint Howard and Udo here that are yelling out of him. And I was like, this is great.
Starting point is 00:32:07 I love that Rob Zambish just like, hey, old actors that I like, I'm giving you roles. You're gonna be in these movies. You're gonna have four lines. And we'll never see you before, we'll never see it after. It does not matter. They do. And we see Brad Durf is the sheriff. He's Annie's dad, the sheriff. Bra, well, I do love Brad Durriff. Of course, who doesn't? He's grossly underutilized in this film.
Starting point is 00:32:32 But like, there are so many characters, so. I also really enjoyed his mustache choice in this. He looks a bit like, um, like a Kung Fu Master, maybe. Or a low-rent hawk-hogan. Not that far different, not that far off. Different sides of the same coin, maybe. Right here I have the note. I'm eating ice cream now. Ooh, what kind?
Starting point is 00:33:00 Uh, Americone Dream. What the fuck is that? What the fuck is that? Tell me about it. It's ice cream, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, then, like, then, like, like, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, tha, like, tha?a? Like, like, like, tha?a? Like, Dream. The Ben and Jerry's flavor. Tell me about it. It's ice cream, like waffle cone bits covered in chocolate. Uh-huh. Inside of your vanilla ice cream, it's the flavor that Stephen Cobert made. Oh, good for him.
Starting point is 00:33:16 Yeah. Yeah, it's delightful. All right, well, I will have to eat. More things I have to eat. So there's a scene in which the teens are all yelling at Michael Myers, the teen girls, and I thought, like, God, no one is meaner than teenage girls. Like, they probably legit hurt his feelings. This is why everything happens after this point. Yeah, because they bully him.
Starting point is 00:33:42 I was a little bum that they dropped the speed kills jerk line from the original movie. Speed kills, jerk. Jerk? Linda is a lot, but I'd still want to be friends with her. Oh for sure. Then we see Linda fucking her boyfriend to the Latin language, Halloween, Miss Fitz song. Not, not fuckworthy. I don't think. I mean we've all no I have not fucked with that song we've all fucked it to not very
Starting point is 00:34:12 fuckworthy songs in our lifetime. Yeah I'm looking at you suicidal tendencies. Oh good oh boy! Shish! Come on, I was like 17. Come to some slack. No, you gotta do your thing. I'm going to stay out of this conversation. For sure. But just to say, no one fucks to the Latin misfits Halloween song. No one.
Starting point is 00:34:39 If you have write in, tell us about it. Maybe we'll read your letter. God. didn't tell us about it. Maybe we'll read your letter. We see Dr. Loomis go to the cemetery after he leaves the sanitarium, meets up with Sid Hague to go and find the family plot for the Myers family, right? And the headstone has been stolen and replaced with a crucified fox. I thought it was a coyote. Maybe. It doesn't really matter.
Starting point is 00:35:06 It's stupid and gross. I do love when our completely insane psychopathic, sociopathic killers take time to do arts and crafts. Yeah, I mean, that would have to take some time. Because it is strung up, the thing is like, sticks tied with string. What do he th, like, likethat it was a cross, he put it on a cross, he crucified it. And later when we see the headstone it's a cross, like he was like, well I need her to replace this.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Right for like. Like for like, I don't want to be a dick here. I also like that he has this like, he has killed a number of people at this point. Sure. And it's still like, no, I'll go for the animals sometimes. It's like eating an appetizer for dinner. You know what I mean? You're like, I'm not that hungry today. Look, it just takes me back to being 10, killing my pet rat. Yeah, back here in Haddonfield. I do like the scene where Dr. Lumas is talking to the people from the Institute and he just goes, Haddonfield! It's just so fucking silly. Why wouldn't they know where he was going? He also said it like there should have been like a guitar sting. Yes, Hadnfield, Whiom! Did you like when Dr. Lumas goes to the gun store and it's Mickey Dolans from the monkeys? I did not know that was Mickey Dolans from the monkeys? That's weird, yes. Yeah, okay. Again, Rob Zahov I probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably. They. They. They. They. They. they'll. they'll. they'll. they'll. they'll. they'll. they'll. they'll. they're. they're they're they're they're like, they're like, they're like, they're they. they. they're like, they they they they they they're they they're they're they're like, they they're like, they. they. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He, he. He, he. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the, the, the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the. the, the, the. the, the. the. the. the. the, the, that was Mickey Dolan's from the monkeys. That's weird, right? Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Okay. Again, Rob Zolme probably met him somewhere. I was like, Mickey, I got you. Yeah, he like ran into him at the convenience store that morning. It's like, hey, what are you doing? What are you doing today? You want to hop in the Dragola Moble? Yeah, that Herman Munsters car. Yeah, for sure. Okay, okay. Probably a Tesla. Yeah, probably. That's wow, that's really on brand.
Starting point is 00:36:51 So Linda's boyfriend's a total burnout, which I thought was weird, because she's the sexiest cheerleader they have, is what she says. Probably hottest, I probably said sexiest. But they do the he does the ghost with the ghosts g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g g. the g. the g. the g. the g. the g. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the the th. the the th. the. to. the. the the the the the the te. the to. the to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to.. But they do the, he does the ghost with the glasses, which is a nice hat tip. Right. But also just like, I know. I know what you're doing. He also gets nailed to the wall with a knife. Certainly gruesome.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Yeah. And another hat tip, because that's where you get the original tilted head puppy thing. Yep. But it's like how boy this is going to go on and on and on. Yeah, that's the thing how do you make Halloween drag? Halloween the original is just like clap clap clap clap we're going we're going we're going even when like we're just hanging out in her room. Yeah. Still there's still some momentum going there. Absolutely and there's a far lower body count for keep it moving you know. There's a lot th like like like like like like like like like like like like like like th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi the the th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the., and there's a far lower body count to keep it moving, you know? There's a lot more standing behind flowing sheets. Yeah, which is fine.
Starting point is 00:37:50 And it also uses a score so much more wisely. Because Rob Zambi is using the John Carpenter score, but with guitar riffs, which I'm just going to ignore for now. But it's all in all the wrong places, like it kicks in in the wrong places and like isn't doing the same thing that the score does in the original? If anything I wish he had just re-scored it himself and maybe nodded to it a couple times. Yeah. Because we Rob Zombie again, Dragula Slaps, he can write a song. The man is a musician. I mean he is one. Yes, professionally. But like every time it kicks in you're like, oh, that's right. Right. It'd be like if every time you're watching a movie, someone would just lean them and be like,
Starting point is 00:38:29 Citizen Kane? I'm out. Just remember, that's out there. You could be watching that right now. Citizen Kane sucks though. No way, so it can't, let up Citizen Kane rules. I love that movie. Why? It's really entertaining. I like Horset Will's movies. Do you? I do. I'm a 107 years old, of course I do. Yeah. They're the first talkies that I saw. Happy for you. That train was coming and scared me. So there's more teens fucking and more teen titties. Yep. Eventually Dee Wallace and Bill Scully get killed. So I have a lot of problems with this. Let's talk about it. There is no reason for those people to be murdered. There's no reason for Danny Trio to be murdered. There's no reason for any of these people do be murdered. But I don't ever want to watch Dee Wallace get the telloss thrown thrown through a glass table while she's tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho the tho tho tho the the tho the. the. the the the the tho tho the tho the the the the tho the the their their their their their their their tho tho tho tho tho tho tho to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tha. tha-s. tha-s. toda. toda. today te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te today today today today t a glass table while she's being murdered. No, it was very sad. Yeah. It's fucking D. Wallace. I like how the scene she had in the front yard with Lori where she's like, I've been spending two hours trying to
Starting point is 00:39:31 put this skeleton together. It's like, dude, six pieces. It's literally like a game of hang-man. I did this sweater web that you say right before you in the yard. Yes, it's huge. I spent an hour untangling it when I was splitting it up, so much so that I had to do a costume change halfway through and put on shorts and a sleeveless shirt because I got so fucking hot. Try not. It's huge and I'm trying to think how you could ever store that thing Thank you. I just came up with it. Okay, anyway. So I know her pain. Wait, who's out putting the skeleton together? I thought you may getting thrown through a glass table and I was like, do you?
Starting point is 00:40:14 It's basically the same thing. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I do like that every house in Haddonfield decorates for Halloween. Yeah. That made me really happy. And I wish that was kind the th th th th th th th th th th that that th th that that th th th th that tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho thi thi tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha. That made me really happy and I wish that was more of a thing. My block is kind of like that. People in Bloomfield go all out. I don't know if it's because of Tom Savinia or because we have the Halloween parade, but
Starting point is 00:40:33 a lot of houses and my neighborhood decorate, which is really nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, there's Alan's house. Halloween beacon. Got a little new, full-size candy bars this way, kids. If you haven't seen Alan's candy receptacle on our Instagram or Facebook yet, please go look at it. When I got here, he put a full-size Twix to make it thiola. It works. And I was like, is this this this this this this this this this this this this thiqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq. Is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thioli. thi. thi. thi. thi. I's, thi. I's thi. I's thi. I's, thiolioli. I's, thioli. I's, thi. I's is, thi. I'ma. T. T. I it works. It works. It does. And I was like, is this twix for me? And he was like, oh, if you want, what do you think I was going to give it back?
Starting point is 00:41:09 No, I never to. But if you wanted to, you were willing. No, I just had to come at you now. I could have given you an almond snickers. Nobody wants that. I want that. I want that. I'll that. I that. I that. So yeah, mom and dad get killed in a, like, and I hated it. I just hated it. Yeah. I was not a fan. They like do a lot of work to set up that she's an only child who's adopted by this really nice couple
Starting point is 00:41:40 who have a really nice relationship with her and they're a happy family just so they can tear it apart. Yes. And I get that it's a horror movie and I get that we're in a pandemic and everything feels worse than usual. 100% but that's really bad. It seriously bummed me out. I was like why I don't want this? This isn't what I want right now. But like why does Michael Myers kill the teens in the first first first first first first first first first first first first first first first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the first the the the te? the te? te. te. te. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. thi. I, I, I, I, I thi. I, I thi. I thi. I'm, I'm thi. I'm te. I'm te. I'm te. I'm te. I'm te. I'm just, te. I'm just, te. I'm just, t th. I'm th. Myers kill the teens in the first movie, you know? Because they have sex. Okay. I don't know, I mean that's seemingly it's like, that's it, yeah. Oh you fucking you dying. Because that was the era of you fucking you dying. And this is the era of blah. Everybody's dead. Like he wipes out half the population of this town. For sure. Yeah. The entire topless population.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Yeah. So Lori's babysitting the kids, you know, they're running away from Michael Myers. She ends up finding Annie alive but topless on the floor. And then like Brad Durf comes in who's Annie's dad and is like not that upset about it. Oh Annie. He's like oh my baby Annie I hope you will live through this trauma. Anyway, gotta go record Chuckle Bell. And so Lori is running in the street screaming in this intensely populated neighborhood. Yeah. Nobody hears her ever.
Starting point is 00:43:03 Gunshots are fired. Nobody does anything. It's commentary on the isolation of the suburbs, man. Is it? The houses are super close together. Well, the same thing in the first movie, she's like banging on everybody's door and they're shutting their lights off. That's true, yeah. They were out of candy. So she's in the bathroom of the kids, in the bathtub.
Starting point is 00:43:25 I was like, it's not a fucking tornado, but okay. And there's a cop talking to them from the other side of the bathroom door, which is like frosted glass. Yeah. And he's trying to get them to open the door. And I was like, th cop's mouth onto the glass of the bathroom door. And I was like, man, that's really cool. Except that I'm so dissensitized at this point to how many deaths we've seen that I'm like, not even impressed by it.
Starting point is 00:43:52 For sure. You know what I mean? This is body number 14 or 15. Like, it's insane. It's a cool shot, but whatever. I've seen a lot of blood. Even mom and dad who you love, because who wouldn't love D. Welles Stone and, or Dwellis, sorry. And, uh, Bill Scully, thank you. T-Yer. That 100% sounds like a NASCAR driver. And even when they die, you're like, I was like, I was like bummed that they were being being being being being being being being being being being being being the stakes, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th.. th. th. th. that, that, that, th. that, that, th. thi. that, th. killed yeah but I wasn't like it wasn't uping the stakes of the movie there's it feels stakesless right I agree so she falls into a pool she falls into a pool which I like that's actually a very scary thing to think about not being able to get out of a swimming pool there is a I think it's a tie movie on shutter called the pool the pool the the the the the the the the the the the the the movie I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tie I I I I tie I tie I tie I tie I tie I tie I tie I tie I tie I tie I the the the the the on a raft, and when he wakes up, the
Starting point is 00:44:46 pool has half let out the water. And then eventually an alligator shows up and I was like, oh I kind of want to watch that movie. Wait, how's it getting the pool? It comes in through the drain. If an alligator could get, never mind. Yeah, it's like a gigantic pool. Yeah, yeah. It's like, it. We should do that at some point. The pool. That sounds so fucking stressful for me.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Yeah, yeah. There's an, it's always sunny in Philadelphia episode where they get stuck in a pool and that stresses me out, you know? So yeah, she gets stuck in a pool. Dr. Luma's shows up with a handgun, shoots Michael Myers a couple times and gets her out. But then they, Michael Myers just gets up as he does. Sure, as he is one to do. Is this when he gets them in the car?
Starting point is 00:45:28 I don't remember what happens here. Uh, yeah, she gets into the cop car and then Michael plunges the window and pulls her back out of the car. And Lumis tells him to let her go, to let her go. So then Michael attacks Lomis. She crouched his eyes. Is it his eyes that he gouges? He gouges somebody's eyes. It doesn't matter. Maybe. It doesn't matter. He kills so many people, it literally doesn't matter. Uh, Laurie gets, Lutus' gun and shoots Michael. So he's, yeah, he takes her to like a weird place with his Halloween decoration set up and Linda's dead body. For sure. What was he doing with it there? What was he going to to to to to to to to to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do the the the the to do the the the th? th. th. th. th. thi? their? th. that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. th. their?? their? their? their? their? their? their? their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the the the the the the the the their. the their. their. their. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. te. te. te. t? I don't know. What was he going to do with Lori there? Was that a nod to Linda's death in the original when she set up with jackalanterns around her and the headstone behind her?
Starting point is 00:46:14 This is where we see the headstone. Oh, I missed that. Okay, that does make sense. All right, fine. I thought he just had a weird little Halloween decoration set up. Doesn't this one look real? And then he crashes through like a brick wall, like a plaster wall, like. Because she's been crawling through like the crawl spaces of the house. And at this point you're like, please let this movie end. Yeah. Him crashing through that wall is like very H2O or the other one. You know what I mean? It's just like. You wouldn't like like th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. tho, tho, thathe. tho, tho, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. throoooo. th. th. th. thrash. thrash. th. th back in them all. Totally, I laughed at that out, I laughed out loud. So then he tackles her off of the balcony, rather than being shot off the balcony, he's like, fucking Mean Joe Green's around the balcony. Excellent, Mean Joe Green reference. Thank you. Wow. I love when you get into sports, I do. They're only from the 70s. Watch out for my Ron Jaworski reference. Jaws!
Starting point is 00:47:05 So he tackles her off, she finds Lumis's gun and like puts it under Michael's chin and pulls the trigger and then she's covered in blood so like she blew Michael's head off? I don't know. Because there's a two. There's a Rob zombie Halloween too. Yeah. Yeah. I sort of liked that end scene of her just covered in blood and screaming. I th thought. I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho tho-I tho- tho-o-up tho tho-s. tho-s. tho-o-s. their tho-s tho-up. tho-up. tho-s tho-s tho-s tho-s tho-s their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. the tho' the tho' tho' thooooooooooooo'-s. So toge. toge-s. toge-s. toge-s. tho' the tho Yeah. I sort of liked that end scene of her just covered in blood and screaming. I thought it was fine. Yeah. And then, Dump-dun-dom, but don't, but then my final snap. My final note was, oh snap, Harvey Weinstein. Oh, fuck. Well, rotten prison, you son of a bitch.
Starting point is 00:47:45 I hope you die there. Rob Zambia, I have more more feelings towards you. For sure. You want to rate it? Yeah. Yeah. You want to go first? Let's have you go first.
Starting point is 00:47:58 I thought you're going to say let's do it at the same time, and I have no idea that that that that that thah thah th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to to to thought that, because it would be very funny if we did. Are you ready? Wait, I'm not need to think. Okay, I'm ready. One, two, three, four. Three. Okay. All right, we did it. You know, in my younger days, and I feel like I owe Mike Bollum and apology because I insisted to him very strongly when I was about 24. So 12 years later, now I want to step that back a bit and say,
Starting point is 00:48:26 as a person who's a bit older and has a little more perspective, it really does mess up a franchise if you consider it canon. For sure. It is just not doing the things that it's meant to do because it's trying to do something else. And a fan of the franchise should probably not want it to do tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thus tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho. I thi. theat tho-a. I tho tho. I tho. I tho. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I that that that that the. the the the the the the the the the thean thean thean the thean thean the the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi want it to do those things, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I want Michael Myers to be the Ramones. He should give me the same album every time, and I'm 100% fine with that. That's fine, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:52 I mean, I think this is a really good argument for, they should have done John Carpenter's thing of every year, Halloween. That would be cool. Like Halloween 3. Yeah. Well, I mean. Season the Witch. You know how I feel about that film. Although now, you know what the even is having more perspective six years later, I think maybe that's okay. I will rewatch it. Maybe I wanted to fuck Tom Atkins. I don't want to fuck Tom Adkins. He's right there. Oh no. When did he move to this this neighborhood? You know, I thi th th th th th th thi -old because it is an extremely gruesome film. For sure. Yeah, for sure. It is. You can get suckered on that kind of thing. For sure. And if that's what you're after in that situation. It's fun, gruesome. There's just too much of it. But also I'm old, so whatever. It just isn't... It just isn't... I feel like th. It just th. It just th. It just th. It just th. It just th. It's just th. It's just th. It's just th. It's just th. I th. I'm just th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I to to t. Right, and it's trying to tell an emotional story. Right, and so it's getting...
Starting point is 00:49:51 Because like one thing we didn't even talk about is that he shows Lori the picture of him and Lori when she's a baby and she rejects it because she's like who's like... Yeah, and he doesn't say anything. So like she kind of can't be faulted but after she like comes and she says I want to help you I want to help you and then she stabs him yeah because she's trying to help him right and that's where he turns on her but he's already killed everyone she loves there was no way you would be her and not think he was going to try to kill you he does he not get that he he seemed like a smart kid Until he wasn't. Katie.
Starting point is 00:50:28 Alan. Can I take you to a place we haven't been to in a little while called Mailbag? Oh my gosh, I thought we weren't doing it for this month. No, do it anyway. This is a review that we've gotten on podcast addict. Ooh, I didn't know you could review podcast addict. Uh, this is from DJ Dogmanfish. Say again. DJ. Dogmanfish. Say again?
Starting point is 00:50:45 DJ Dogmanfish. I am already a fan of this person. It's good. My only problem is the male host laughs so much at things that just aren't funny. Fuck you, everything we say is funny. No longer a fan. Oh. What I like is- What I like is- Look, he's just happy, you guys. It's a nervous tick that I have when we do this, but yeah. Why are you nervous? Oh, it's because I'm talking to human beings.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Oh, my God. I feel like, you know when someone's been to your house so much that they're not a guest in your home anymore? I feel like for me and you and you and you I took, I should, I should, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should, I should not, I should not, I should not th, I should not th when, I, I should not th when, I should not that, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I should, I should, I should that that that that that that that that that that that that that, I should not that, I should not that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that that, that that that, that that, that, that that, that, I should that, I should that, I should that, I should that, it's that this was being recorded and going out to the world. I forget that we're recording it sometimes. When you and I talk, I don't giggle this much. It's true. Which makes me think I'm not that funny. Whatever, fuck it. No, I appreciate the constructive criticism, but we're going to do nothing about it, so.
Starting point is 00:51:38 I've tried not to laugh as much. You also also also also also also also to to to to thak. I tha. I thia. I th. I th. I thi. I th. I thi. I've all thi. I've all thi. Yeah, when I found that out, I was so disappointed because I just thought that they enjoyed themselves beyond all recognition.
Starting point is 00:51:58 That is fucking insane. Whose job is that? Can I read you one more review that I really was like, yeah? This is from Abyswalker 389. Hello, Abyswalker 389. I love that there's... No, 388 was taken. So many other abyss walkers.

Starting point is 00:53:18 Halloween next week let's do a film from the 80s, a Canadian film. Another holiday? Another holiday? Let's do a film that I absolutely fucking adore, spoilers. Same season. My bloody Valentine. 2D, the original. Sand Supernatural. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:38 But arguably a much better film. Oh my god, I can't wait. Have a great Halloween everybody. This is coming out before Halloween. So, tho, I can't wait. Have a great Halloween everybody. This is coming out before Halloween, so get ready. Happy six year anniversary to us. I am so crazy, just past the 24th.
