I'm so yeah so I'm a little loopy yeah so Alan's on narcotics and it's the morning time so we're really switching it up today I was like oh I'm gonna have husky morning voice but then on the way over here I heard king of wishful thinking in the car and I was doing the falsetto so um I lost it I lost it I lost it quickly wow well that's mean, now you know how to get rid of Husky Morning Voice. Yeah. What are we here to talk about this week? Oh God, we're here to talk about Friday the 13th, part 7, the New Blood, which is Jason versus Kerry, I think. Yeah, that's basically what it boils down to. Yeah. Well, it was originally supposed to be Freddie versus Jason. Oh, really? New line and whoever the production production production production production production production production production production production production production production production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. the production. to. the production. to. to. the the production. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. the. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the 13th were going back and forth and they couldn't agree on terms for it. Yeah but doesn't make sense that they would. So well they did it later, it worked out but when both franchises were not at their best. So because Freddie was like top of the slashers and Jason was falling so Jason was
Starting point is 00:01:37 trying to latch on and then like they were giving shitty prerequisites for making this happen. Okay and this was the the th. And th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thus thus thus thus th. thus th. tho. tho they were tho they were thi they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they they they they they they they they they they they they they were they they they were they were they were they they were they were they they were they were they were they were they they they were they they they they they they they were they they they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were thus. thus. the. the. the. that. that. theeeeeeeeeat. theeat. theea. theeeeat. they were they were they were they were they And this was the same year that the fourth Namur and Elm Street came out right? I think so. Okay. Man they were really I like didn't realize until I looked at the math. They were just slamming these movies out like this is 1988. They're on their seventh movie. They did this one in six months from concept to theater. And you know what? It shows on the screen. Well it sounds like I did a little reading. I did a little reading on Wikipedia. So proud of you. Yeah. Well because I knew that this movie was directed by a special effects guy and the special effects are non-existent but it sounds like it got cut terribly by the MPAA. Yeah yeah yeah they cut likethey cut like the sleeping bag scene, that that
Starting point is 00:02:26 epic sleeping bag scene was not very epic. No, because it's cut, it was originally six wax against the tree and they cut it down to one. Yeah. So, yeah. But it wouldn't be great to see the sleeping bag fill with blood as it's hitting the tree. And also like a lot of people just tell you how they got killed. They just got stabbed maybe. First of all, this has a huge body count. Yeah, which I figured you'd be into. Yeah, I was, but. About it. Some of the deaths were just so like unmemorable.
Starting point is 00:02:54 I don't know. Yeah, what is this, this grid you're looking at? Oh, it's a list of all the deaths from the Friday, the 13th 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13the 13th movies. That's a great thing about doing this franchise is that Someone has spelled this out. It is deep people's people are just running deep on this movie and all this franchise and there's so many websites that are dedicated to just talking about this movie. This particular one? Well there's a whole Friday the 13th wiki. There's a whole like so there's so much research that's already been done on thrown. this the research. So the research. So the research. So the the the the the the their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their the the the the the the the th. their their th. their th. the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. the. the. the. the. people. people. people. people. people. people. People. people. People's people. People's people. People's people. People's people. People's. It's very cool. So why this movie, I know a lot of people recommended this movie. Why this, I've only seen, I was looking through the Friday the 13th, backstory and when at the beginning of this movie they did like last time on Friday the 13th. I love that.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Grookwick we will be doing spoilers, but it's a fucking Friday the phone, you're done. I think because this movie is so ridiculous. Okay. Because it has that like previously Jason was the only supernatural element in any of these films. Okay, okay. So the weird like teleconnetic thing of this new female character, Tina. Tina. They say her name, like I remember complaining in Nightmare in Elm Street how many times they say Tina's name like four fucking thousand times in this movie..... their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, th. Because, t. Because, th. Because, t. Because, the. Because, the. Because, because, because, the. Because, because, because, thi, because, because, thi, because, thi, thi, thi. I's, thea, thea, thea, tea, thea, tea, thea, thea, name like four fucking thousand times in this movie. Every other line is just, Tina! Tina! Bring me the Axe! She looked straight up like a character out of a Diabreine Elm Street movie. Like I felt like she was just transplanted out of those. Yeah, there are 16 deaths in this movie. They just trotted people out in their their their 16. They their. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. They're. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. The. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. the the the the the the the the the the the th. the. the the the. the the the the. the the th. the th. th. th. th. trodded people out in order to kill them. Yeah. I really liked that voiceover recap because you do. I did because I hadn't seen Friday the 13th movies
Starting point is 00:04:28 other than the first two in like, no, no, I've seen the fifth one not too long ago. But you know, the franchise is just lost on me. Yeah. So it was really fun aware of that. When that happened in the prologue there I was like, what? Yeah, it was barely chained. Yeah, like why, Jason, he has all these powers in it, he can't remove this chain from his neck. loosely around just swim down. Yeah, just blow all your air out and then you can sink. But the voiceover actor is the old man Harbinger from the first Friday the 13th movie. Oh, which I thought was really fun. That is cool. Yeah, this movie is ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:05:07 But I like that. And I have to say like, coming home to Crystal Lake was like, oh, I know it was like slipping into a nice warm bed. Like I was like, I know this. I know that the I mean not until Manhattan Not to the next one. Okay. I don't think Why does Jason go to Manhattan? Why doesn't he? To go shopping? My favorite thing I don't know I'm just guessing My favorite thing about Jason takes Manhattan is there's movie punks in that movie punk, you know, do. And one of the movie punks is the singer from Citizens Arrest,
Starting point is 00:05:47 and now in Fina Brerum and Disma. So it's like weird to see a dude that I've seen shows in a Friday the 13th movie. That is cool. So as a like a general overview of this movie, OK, it opens on to on the tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, to to to to to tina, to to to to to to tina, to a to a tina, tina, to, to, to, to, to, to, and her seemingly drunk father is hitting her mother and she runs out onto a dock and gets in a rowboat and she wishes that her dad would die basically and the doc that he's standing on collapses and he dies. Right, unleashing her teleconetic powers. Well the doctor later
Starting point is 00:06:20 says that her guilt gave her the teleconetic powers. And I found this upsetting because I was raised Catholic and I have jack shit to show for it. You know what I mean? It's just... Not a single teleconetic power? No, I feel so guilty and I have nothing. And now that seems like bullshit to me. So fast forward, I don't know, 10, 12 years, and we find that Tina has been in a mental institution.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Right. Because she feels guilty? Yeah, I think that she sort of had a psychotic snap because of that. I guess. She seems okay. She does, but it was the 80s and everybody got sent to a mental institution at some point. The 80s era of psychology is so strange. It's like, they're magicians, but, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, tina, t 80s and everybody got sent to a mental institution at some point. The 80s era of psychology is so strange. It's like they're magicians but also like they have all the power. It's just a weird thing like you're a psychiatrist or psychologist in the 80s in a movie like you're omnis.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Yeah, it's very strange. Like the psychologist and the brood, he's just a really evil, evil. They're always... Because they're their om their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi. It's thi. It's very. It's very thi. It's very. It's very. It's very. It's very. It's very. It's very. It's thiol-s. It's thiol-s. It's thiologiologiologiologiologiol-s. It's thiages. It's thiages. It's thii. It's thiii. It's thiii. It's very magic. It's very magic. It's very magic. It's seemed to be evil on some level. They're always... Because they're controlling your mind. It's so weird. Or Frightmare from the 70s. Oh, right. Yeah, that guy. He was just using psychology forcefully on everybody.
Starting point is 00:07:33 I do want to mention that after the great, what I really liked, the recap, the credits. And so was the opening god damn credits. I liked the theme music during them though. It was real minimal like, just sharp notes, you know? Yeah. Not a lot of a uh, uh, uh, chitcha, c-cha in this. No, which I hate that. I that. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the opening was the opening. I was the opening. I was the opening. I was the opening. I was the opening. It was great when I was a kid, that sound was enough to give you the willies. Well, it still does. So for me. OK.
Starting point is 00:08:14 OK, so fast forward to. Tina's going back. Yeah, he was the, he's Bernie, no he's Bernie from Weekend at Bernies. What? Yeah, Dr. Cruz is Bernie. What? What? Oh my God! Bernie Low Max! Holy shit, how did I not know that?
Starting point is 00:08:32 I guess because you have no sunglasses on. Yeah. God, I love Weekend at Bernie's. Actually, I wish we could do weekend at Bernie's. too because I feel that it's a sequel that surpassed its predecessor. I mean, that one has zombie and voodoo, the second one. Can it be a horror movie? Yeah, the second one. Oh, I've never seen it. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:08:51 So yeah, Dr. Cruz, aka Bernie. I fucking love Weekend at Bernie's too. Like, it doesn't make sense what I like weekend at Bernie's too. You love it. the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, that, that... th. thoom. thoom. tho, can can can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can, can. You don't like weekend. I love weekend. I love it. You went ballistic about it. I did flip my chair. Okay. So he's, Dr. Cruz is taking her back to Crystal Lake to try and get her right with everything. Obstensibly to make her see that everything's okay. Yeah. But really it turns out he's taken her back to to their. You you. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin. You went. th. You went th. You went th. We went, you went,to make her see that everything's okay. Yeah. But really it turns out he's taking her back there to try and really hype up her tele-kinetic powers right. He's a dick. He's a dick. So it's Tim and Tina and her mom. And Patrick Swayze's hair on it. I was gonna say wind tunnel. She's like in a wind tunnel at all times, which is cool. th. th. th. th. th cool, th cool, th th cool, th th th th th th th th th th th thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's thi's to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thunne, thi, thi, thi, really really really really really really really thi, thi, thi, really thi, really thi. thi. thi. thi. try try try try try try try and really really try and really try try and really try try and really try to try to to to to try and really times, which is cool, I liked it. Yeah. So next door I guess, this was like very,
Starting point is 00:09:45 it seemed very vague to me. Next door there is a group of teens who are partying for some guys surprise birthday party? Yeah, Michael. Michael. Michael. Michael. Yeah. When Michael doesn't arrive by like the second day, they're like, he probably just got a DUI, he's probably in jail. And I was like, you, their friend Michael. their is their is their their is their their their is their is their friend, their friend, their friend, their friend, their friend, their friend, their friend, their is their is their is their is their is their is a group, their is their is probably, their is a group is a group, their is a group is a group is a group is there is a group is there is a group is a group, there is a group, there is a group, there is a group, their, their is a group, their is a group, their is a group, their is a group, their is a group, their their their their friend, their friend, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thr. tee. tee. teeee. tee. tea. tee. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. the. tee. tee. th. I don't know. And these teens, why were they friends? First of all, there's 40 of them. I don't know any of their names, except Melissa the Wasp. Yeah. And they all die.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Yeah, I think that's why they were friends. So they could die. No, they were 80s, the 80s, you weren't in high school in the 80s, No I was not. Every click had to be like represented in your friend group. I see. You know, so you had to have, well they didn't have any punks, which is a little bit of a letdown. Well they had that one guy. The greaser? Yeah, I mean that's as far as they could take it. It smoked a fucked ton of weed. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:45 So yeah, the first kills that we see, well the first death we see is John Shepard. And then Michael and Jane are the couple that are, like their car breaks down and Michael is the party guy. Yeah, Jane is his girlfriend who is leading him to a surprise party. it wasn't like a like a gotcha like he leaves her alone in the woods so he can go pee and then you like are aware that something's coming up behind her and I feel like often in horror movies it would be her boyfriend and it's like a oh gotcha a moment but it's really fucking Jason and he just stabs her. Oh we forgot to mention how Jason came back oh right I guess that's important Tina was using her telecinesis to try and communicate with her father to to to to to the to the to the to the to the the to the the to the the to the the to the the to the the to the the to the the to to to to the the to to to to to to to to to to to the the thea. to to to to to to to to to to be. to be. to be. to be. to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the te. I Ic. te. te. Ic. te. te. te. Ic. tel. Ic. te. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. Iinesis to try and communicate with her father to bring him back from the dead as you do. I mean that's a thing you're going to try right I do
Starting point is 00:11:26 it all the time and your father's alive oh that's right it worked so she accidentally resurrected the chained and now beskeletoned Jason he looks cool it looks cool at this plot and dialogue are gonna be so bad. Yeah, and that was Mike Bukowski, was one of the people who suggested this movie to us, and his thing was like, it's the best looking, Jason, until the mess comes off. Yeah. But that's later. But she brings him back. And then he would thank her.
Starting point is 00:12:08 It's true. Like why doesn't Jason feel gratitude? Yeah, he's a dick. Totally dick. This is also a cane, Hoder, or Hodder's first turn as Jason. He's enormous. He's an enormous man. He's scary. And he's at every horror convention you'll ever go to. Well, man's got to make a living. I think he's gonna be at the next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next next the next the next the next the next the next the next the next the next the next the next the next the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to t. t. t. t. t. t. t. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tod. tod tod tod tod today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. today. tod. I think he's going to be at the next cinema wasteland, because they're doing Texas Chainsall Massacre 3 and he was leatherface and then. Oh really? He's really trying to be Michael Myers in a movie so he gets all three of like the big dudes. That's cool. Yeah. Yeah, that would be awesome.
Starting point is 00:12:34 the the's, they, J, J, the, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, th, th, there was an end to him. Yeah. And I felt like this movie should have been in 3D, because there was a lot of like shit flying at me. Yeah. It felt, I don't know if you've seen Friday, the 13th part 3. There's a there's a C, where a dude's doing a yo-yo from a second floor balcony, just so it can come down to the camera one? Where it's like the kid at the end, the mask, and the kid like... Oh, you mean, isn't that Corey Feldman? Is it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Oh shit. No, the three is, it's just more kids at a camp, but it's actually, like the plot is terrible in it, but it's really fun for the, there's like a spear gun in it, and it's like a spear, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, is like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, a, a, a. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th're never going to show up at the party because they're dead. And Tina is at that beautiful lake house that they have. It's really nice. Yeah. Two-story lakehouse, really, really sweet. And the kids are partying next door. You think they would have sold that after the death of the father? Yeah, where's their income coming from? Maybe he had like a hefty life insurance policy. In which case that that dock accident seems a little suspicious.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Anyway, it seems like you wouldn't want to keep it, that's all. It is a reminder. Yeah, of what? Of your test? Yeah, your abusive drunk father's death. I can't wait to talk about the father at the end too. So yeah she gets invited to the party next door with the party to happen. Nick. Yeah, Nick. Nick. Nick has not a single emotion. He does have a sweet Canadian tuxedo though. And Nick? I can't even talk about Nick. He's so silly. He's such the 80s hunky boyfriend. Yeah. Like cable knit sweater. their the te. theyn't is is is is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. toe. toooooom-n't is too, tooom-n't is not too, Nick has not to to to too, Nick has not th. N back and just held there. How is it held there? I don't know. It doesn't make any sense that it should be doing that. But when we go into the party there's the African-American couple who are fighting but you never find out why even though everyone keeps asking them why
Starting point is 00:14:34 they're fighting they never answer which I found it be frustrating. Pretty sure they're fighting just's the slightly less nerd girl. Okay. There's the wasp girl. Yeah. There's the other guy? The science fiction dude. That's right.
Starting point is 00:14:51 That's right. That's right. He doesn't. He's not a human. So Tina gets introduced to bone with Nick. Who doesn't? Her sex drive is insane. The height of this movie, everyone's dying and she still just wants to fuck. Yeah. Like it's crazy. Up until her death. Until the moment of her death. She's trying to get down. She's inviting the guy upstairs to fuck. Yeah, so yeah I mean it's a Friday the 13th movie. You guys have seen these. You know what happens in this movie.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Yeah. There's a bunch of deaths. None of them like, other than the sleeping bag death, which is just a random person in the woods. Right, it's a... I don't think she even has a name. Her boyfriend is Dan. I liked his kill because Jason just punched him through the fucking chest. Yeah. She delivers the line. that scene made th th th th th then then then th then th th th him. th him th him th him th him the th him th him the th him the th him thum the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. the. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. theat. the theateateateat. their their th. He's the line, okay you big hunk of a man, come and get me. Gross. That scene made me one, like has Jason always been so cartoonishly strong? Like the ability to pick up a human inside? Yeah. Yeah. I sort of didn't remember that. Yeah. I mean Michael Myers is the same way. You just like lifts people by the chin all the time. Yeah. Where are they getting all this physical strength? Do you th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. thi. theeee. the. th I guess you're right. Yeah. Where are they getting all this physical strength? Do you think
Starting point is 00:16:06 Jason was like, does Jason even lift? Like is he doing it underwater? I guess there's a lot of resistance. Katie, he's a he's dead supernatural being. Sure. At this point like he, but I mean he's been, uh, lightning has brought him back from the dead and yeah there's so much much much the the their their their their their their their lightning. their lightning. their lightning. their lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning lightning their their their their their their their their their he he he he's their lightning. he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he. he. he. he. he. lightning. lightning. lightning. lightning. lightning. lightning. lightning. lightning. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. he. He's he. He's he's he's he's they. they. they. they. they. he's they. he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's there's there's so much going on there like. All right fine. I'll accept this. This is a weird thing to be hung up on that he uh... Did he's buff? Yeah. Oh that was Judy that got smashed by the sleeping bag and Russell gets struck in the face of the axe. Russell is the guy whose uncle owns the cabin. The ivy- and his girlfriend is the one they're like skinny dipping and he's taking off his clothes like he's never taken off his clothes before he's like just like how do I unbutton this? I found it really weird that the bodies just keep showing up all over like Russell like Russell shows up like 15 different places yeah yeah they're about to die like
Starting point is 00:16:56 Russell's the one that he brings out like really look look look it's an it's a really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really it's a the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. I I I I they. I ttttttttttoy. I they. I they. I they. I they. I just just just I thethat had taken an axe wound to the face that I just missed. I'm pretty sure it was him. I had like a, that pink button down on, you know, like, hmm. Yeah. With so many bodies, why keep her using that one? Oh, I'm really rustle again. Oh, he's in the movie, I edited it down. And sometimes I was like, oh, I really want to see the gross stuff. Yeah, I did want to see the gross stuff.
Starting point is 00:17:28 But then at other points, I was like, that's fine. I'm not really that bummed about it. I just feel like this movie is clearly just killed. Yeah. Yeah. Well, make that tree trimmer with a saw blade on the other. That's really scary. Yeah. And like he just touches him and he's dead. Yeah. For Bernie?
Starting point is 00:17:48 I love it when Bernie died because his eyes just crossed. I'm dead. That's what happens when he die. Oh mannye. Oh man, I can't believe I didn't know that goes in every movie for a while. Is he in Manikin or Manikin 2? Yeah, he's definitely in the Manigan movies. The franchise? The franchise. Do we need to do it in 80s?
Starting point is 00:18:11 What's his name? Terry Kisser or something like that? That sounds right. Just do a podcast dedicated to his movies? Yeah, I would do that. The mannequin movies aren't really bad. It's a really dumb concept for a film. I love the dumb movies too and it's just not. And I think there's two of them and the mannequin changes between them, right? Like one is Christy Swanson, isn't it? And the other one is not Christy Swanson?
Starting point is 00:18:33 Is it Kim Cattrail or something like that? Really? The woman from sex in the city? No, who cares? So basically, Jason kills everybody except for, I don't know, who cares? So Tina reveals that she's been in a mental institution to Nick, and Nick for some fucking reason tells the whole party so that when she shows up later, they're making fun of her. No, Melissa's spying on them. Oh, is that what it is? Oh, that's her her chair thisthat's her chie boots on. Yeah, this real kicky boots. Yeah. And she goes to spy on them. That's right. And then she makes fun of Tina and Tina's telekinetic powers cause her pearl necklace to break. Yeah. Which a good quality pearl necklace will have a knot between each pearl so that if it breaks you only lose one. And the the the the the the to lose to lose the to lose the to lose to lose the the to lose to lose the the th. And I I to lose th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I was th is th is th is th. And I th is th is thease thea. And the. And she goes th. And she goes th. And she goes th. And she goes th. And she goes th. And she goes th. And she goes th. I didn't, but that's something we're going to have to agree to disagree on. There was some really great 1988 fashion in this.
Starting point is 00:19:31 From all walks of teen life too. Like when the one, I don't know any of these people's names. The one nerdy girl says to the more nerdy girl like you need some touch-ups and then she puts on that outfit what was that outfit with like white pumps? Oh man white pumps? Those white pumps? They're definitely... Who came to a party at a lake house and brought white pumps? That's my question. And she takes off her glasses which I think we discussed in the Mandy and Lane episode of just like taking off your glasses suddenly you're hot. Yeah and she really like she just teased the shit out of her her. the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the th. th. th. And, t. t. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. teased the shit out of her hair like 88 was the year that I went into high school so this was totally like this is like this was hitting home for me like I remember people dressing like this. She said good cut because I'm so old. Yeah. 88 was the year I went into into kindergarten. Oh I didn't want to as another diversion as we're diverting the
Starting point is 00:20:26 shit out of this film. Who cares? Do you have a favorite telekinesis moments from films or like movies with that stuff going on like you know Carrie Fire Starter? You know I do I love Carrie to the deepest core of my being. Yeah. Fire starter. I forgot about fire starter. God that movie Drew Barrymore right? I I making that up as a child? Like a little baby Drew Barrymore? I think she was already doing rails at that. You know what was going to say, little drugged out baby Drew Barrymore.
Starting point is 00:20:50 I really loved Fire Starter when I was a kid, because I wanted to get it to move? No, no, no. No, no. Would I be doing this podcast if I did? It's a good question. I'd be bending spoons on TV. I make good money doing that.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Yeah, I think it's a fun trope in films. Yeah. I was thinking a West Craven movie, with Christy Swanson, but... Ooh, this is like our Christy Swansett Appreciation podcast also. Have you seen that movie? No. It's fucking terrible. It's great. Mama from, throw mama from the train. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Gets her head blown up with a basketball that Christy Swanson's there. Oh, yeah. I think we've talked about thiii. It's ridiculous. It's both. So yeah, you guys should let us know what your favorite telekinetic moments in films are. Let's see, well, you don't know the thing. I loved the conversion van in this. I still have like a conversion van? Yeah, that van with like the little window in the side of it. Where the people were boning down?
Starting point is 00:21:58 I couldn't figure out if there were multiple fuck vans or if there was just the one fuck fan that everybody wanted to fuck in? I don't know, because they had to have all gotten there somehow and they couldn't have all fit in that van, could they? I don't know. They were kind of clowns. Um, I like the sci-fi guy was unwrapping Michael's birthday presents and one of them was a personal penis. Yeah, he was a magnified glass. Yeah, I like that actually. That. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually. That actually, th. That actually. That. That. That. That actually, th. That th. That th. That th. That th. They were kind they were kind th. They were kind they were kind they were kind their their with a light like it was a paint can from home alone. I was like, oh no, it's gold tooth. And it took him the fuck out.
Starting point is 00:22:29 Yeah. I'm pretty sure I could stand getting him in the face of the light ball. I bet you couldn't. All right, after this podcast. All right. We'll report back. I bet it would take me out. He doesn't die. Nobody goes down. I would fall down if I got in the phase of a light fixture. You're kidding me?
Starting point is 00:22:48 I like when the one couple are fucking in the van and the guy's gonna take off and the woman says, I love you squid face. What? Squid face? I miss that. I miss the middle. You know what I mean? You have some idea. You know that a lot of teenagers tied the hands of a skeletal Jason. So there's the reveal that I'd always been waiting for of seeing Jason's face under the mask.
Starting point is 00:23:13 And boy does it look goofy. Yeah. Yeah. I feel like they were like, oh this is going to be so great. It's not great. It's not great. It's going this this is this is going this is going this is going this is going this is going going going going going going going going going going going going going going th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. Oh th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their tha. teeeat. teat. teat. teat. teat. teat. their their their their their bullet holes in his face. And yeah, it was just kind of rough looking. Yeah. Oh, there's that great firewalk when they lit him on. Yeah, he's on fire for quite some time. 40 seconds of screen time on fire. Good for that guy. Yeah, King, out. He's the way by electrocuting him by
Starting point is 00:23:48 – well, there's the – before he's let on fire, she animates the gas can to spray gas all of them. I had such a problem with this. It was so funny. Because like at the beginning of the movie, she can barely move a matchbook. And all of a sudden, she's just like, she can do anything. She can make anything do anything. Yeah, she's become so powerful.
Starting point is 00:24:09 I just took issue with it. Maybe it was like the death of her mother that triggered it. I don't know. But I found it, I just found that type of telecinesis unrealistic. I don't know. Whatever. Speaking of unrealistic, this movie. So then he chases her outside after he's been on fire and there's like just moshing through the house. I love that he was just breaking down walls constantly. Why did the house explode? Oh, it was made out of dynamite.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Oh, cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. I like that the boyfriend yelled the decked before the house exploded. How did he know it was going the house. the house. the the thiii. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. he. he. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's. Maybe he packed it full of dynamite. That was really good foresight on his part. Yeah, so Jason chases her out into the woods and then she hits him with a bunch of tree branches. Oh yeah. And knocks him down into a puddle that looks like it's made out of gravy.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Yeah. And then electrocutes him the the the the the the the the to the edge of the electrified puddle and stares at him until he gets back up and chases her to the dock and then. And then the greatest ending to a movie ever. What the fuck were they thinking? I believe the director has apologized for the end of this movie. It's so dumb. Yeah. It's so, it's not only th not only not only not only not only th. It's not only not only th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not th. It's not thi. It's not thi. Okay, so basically her dead father comes up out of the water, puts a chain around Jason's neck and he goes back down under.
Starting point is 00:25:29 But, like, not only is that the dumbest thing I've ever said. He is no worse for the wear having been under the water for like 10-12 years. Like, it's just a middle-aged man in a polo shirt like literally just bounces out of the water like he'd been just swimming He's a little muddy he's muddy he's not there are stills online of like a zombie dad Oh really? They had done the makeup and all that but the studio wanted it to like back off of that and make him more regular Why? Why? I don't know why? Maybe so every dad could identify? Every abusive dad father has been underwater? Also like did they not? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? they? th? th? th? th? th? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. to to to to to to. to to to. to. to. they. they. the thi. the the. th father who's been underwater. Also like, did they not get that body out of there? It's a lake, like they could have probably easily gotten his body out of there. As far as I could tell Tina and her mom just bolted. Like, oh, peace. Do you think that the police, you're thinking no one missed him? That's really. He's an abusive dick. But he probably is a job a a a a a job a job. the job. the job. the job. the job. the job. the job. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. t. t. t. tod. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. toda. the. th someone noticed he was gone. For all we know it could have been her mom's money. That's fine. All right
Starting point is 00:26:27 I'm not saying I'm not saying women can't earn money. It's not what I'm saying. I just I'm just having some trouble with the plot. Oh there's there's a plot. I mean obviously the doctor knows he's dead. Right. Burney is well aware. I did like the woman who was killed with a party horn in her eye. That was good. That was probably my favorite death actually. I know that everybody loves a sleeping bag, but I really like the party horn the eye. It was just a good fuck you. Yeah, he was just being a dick after all.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Yeah, I mean, you're like, come on Jason. I've always thought that these movies are just adults that don't have tho tho tho tho tho th th tho th tho th th th tho th tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that have any tolerance for kids anymore. Just so fucking sick of these teens. Just murder all of them. They suck. Yeah. Also the last line of this movie is fucking terrible. What's the last line of the movie? Where Nick and Tina are being loaded into an ambulance and Nick goes, where's Jason? And Tina goes, we weak.
Starting point is 00:27:18 And the credits rolled and I was like, no, no, no, no. So much so that I watched all the end credits and I was like, there's got to be a reveal of Jason. No, no, no reveals. No, no, like last moment. Yeah, no hand coming out of the water. Why not? I don't know. I mean, part of the reason, the film before this, the Friday, the 13th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, the, th, th, the, the,th before this movie did really poorly. Oh really? So this was sort of like they're, that's why they were trying to get Freddie on board to revitalize
Starting point is 00:27:47 it. So I think part of it is no one gave a shit. And they did this in six months from egg to baby. It was from... You can't even make a real baby in that time. No one thought any part of this this like no part of this was I just I just And I bet it was like financially successful too. I'm definitely more so than the last one than the one before it. Yeah, made some money sounds like Yeah, and it was followed by Jason takes Manhattan. How does he how to do you know did you see that? I don't know if I saw it years ago. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th. th. th th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th. th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. to the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. by Jason takes Manhattan. How does he, how do you know, have you seen that? I don't know if I saw it years ago I don't remember
Starting point is 00:28:29 why he's in Manhattan or anything. I that's I think I'm gonna watch that just for my own notification. And then there's Jason Goes to Hell the final Friday it's called. Not the final one. And then there's Jason X, which is Jason in space. I'm not going to see that. Oh, you know what? This is interesting from the internet. Apparently, they didn't do that last scene, last scare thing, because fatal attraction had just come out and made that like very mainstream. Okay. So they just didn't.
Starting point is 00:28:59 It wasn't the director of that movie, like a director of Friday the 13th or or producer or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Oh or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thi? Oh. that. that. thi? Oh. thi? Oh. thi? Oh. thooo? Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. the. Oh. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the director of that movie, like a director of Friday the 13th or horror movies or producer or something? Yeah, I think he had some connection to that stuff. So that's a, that's Friday the 13th part 7, the new blood. I am. Which doesn't make any fucking sense. Who's the new blood? I think Tina? Maybe.
Starting point is 00:29:17 Who cares? But it's not because she's Carrie and Carrie rules. She's Carrie without the crazy mom, I guess. Yeah, no, she had a very supportive mother. Yeah, her mom was real nice. I was actually a little sad to see her die. Yeah, it was a bummer. She was a nice lady.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Probably the last 10 years had been really hard for her being alone with her daughter being in a mental institution. Yeah. But she did what she had to do. And she made it. And she made it. She didn't make it. Oh, I would say she'd get stabbed. She does not make it at all. Well, so we, that's a movie. So, uh, ratings phase,
Starting point is 00:29:58 the ratings phase. Oh, man. Do you want me to go first. I give this movie this movie this movie this movie this movie this movie this movie this movie this movie to six six six six six six six six six six six six six want me to go first? I always want you to go first. Somebody give this movie a six. Yeah. I had fun watching this movie. It felt really nice to go back to Crystal Lake on some level to like revisit that because I don't watch these movies very often.
Starting point is 00:30:14 And I also had really low expectations and it totally met them. Yeah, I appreciated it meeting those and not, not meeting those. Yeah, I also had really low expectations of it. I thought that this movie was being suggested to us because it was like going to be so, so, so, so bad. Right. But it's not. Right. You think anything that's part seven in a series is going to be so, so, so bad. Yeah. But it was fine. It was a solid entry in that series. Yeah, I liked it. It did feel a little sluggy in the middle where I was like counting how many teens were left and I was like, just get them out. Get them, kill them, I'm done. Yeah, I need to go to bed. Yeah, I'll give it a... I'll also give it a six. I feel like I'm taking your rating a lot lately, but I think that that's a really appropriate rating for it. It's above average, I guess. It's, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I tha, I th. I th. I the, I the, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th. th. thi, I thi, I thi, thi, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, get that, get. It was a better slasher movie than Mandy Lane. I think. We did give Manilain a five. Yeah, well see the so the rating system doesn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:31:14 This I feel is only better to me because there's more dead. I mean and Jason's just a better murderer than what was that Elmer or Eli or what the fuck that kid's name. Brian. Shit. Yeah. And there, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, I I, Jason, I, I, Jason, I, I, I, I, Jason, I, Jason, I there, I there, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, Jason, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I th. the th. I th. I th. th. th. th. I th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi whatever the fuck that kid's name was. Brian. Shit. Yeah. And there were like I loved that every kill had to be different. Like he was just going through that tool shed and grabbing a different weapon. Yeah. At one point I think he had a sickle and I was like where did you where is coming from? He was like oh man I really liked using that that that that tree saw thing but I used it once. Just used it one. I mean, I don't have been happy if he had used that for the entire movie.
Starting point is 00:31:47 But only if they'd actually shown him murdering people with it. Yeah, I would like to see, and apparently a lot of the footage has been destroyed, but I would like to see the glory cut of this. It was just because nobody gave a shit about the movie so they just got that's just that's just that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's just. that's just. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi. the. thi thi. the. the. the. the. the. they're just the. they're just the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But th. But they they they they they they they's they's they's they's they's they're just they're just they're just they're just thi. they're just the. the. theat. they're just theateateat. theateat. they're just they're just they're just they're just they're just they're just that. they're just that. they're just crazy. Yeah. Like, that's NFL, like, you know, throwing, throwing the tapes and the fire. You know, never mind. I don't, sports. Oh, sports. But yeah, I, you know, it wasn't bad. I enjoyed my time. Sure. It was not a waste of my $3 on Amazon. I'll put it that way. No, that's true. So what are we going to watch I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I that it that it that it that it again. I thought about watching it again this morning before we did this. I'm good. I have, I got shit to do. I didn't have shit to do, I just didn't want to watch it again. What are we doing next week?
Starting point is 00:32:32 We are going to tackle a Katie favorite. The craft. I'm psyched. I hope it holds up. I have this like the sinking fear that it won't and then I'm going to be disappointed But Skeet Ulrich is in it. Oh, yeah? I think if I recall correctly the poor man's Johnny Depp I can't tell the difference between him and Heath Ledger. Well, Heath Ledger's dead. Ulrich? That sounds like an Australian name? I don't know. Now I don't know. Now I'm questioning everything I know.
Starting point is 00:33:07 I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to remember Ferruza Bulk. For us a ball? Yeah. And not call her? Oh, I'm thea. the t craft. Yeah. And I've never seen it so. I think you're going to like it.
