Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 333- The Conjuring 2 (2016)

Episode Date: May 24, 2021

This week, Ed & Lorraine Warren are back on their bullshit and frankly, we are not having it. Furthermore, how does this movie have 80% on Rotten Tomatoes? It's madness. Speaking of madness, special t...opics for your consideration include: ghosts who enjoy the work of Margaret Thatcher, ghosts who can tell riddles that the demons who inhabit them cannot hear, making a movie that is basically a greatest hits of your other movies (not that we do the best job remembering the other movies but please recall that being fun is better than knowing things), and the ultimate embarrassment: doing a sincere Elvis impersonation in front of other human beings.  If you want to hear our episode on "The Conjuring," it's number 96. If you'd like to delve more deeply into the Wan-iverse, check out Episode 81- "Saw" and Episode 303- "Insidious." I also just realized that I have attributed the "Paranormal Activity" films to Mr. Wan in previous episode notes, and while I regret that error, please see above re: being fun and knowing things.  Find us online: Support us at patreon.com/werewolfambulance and get bonus episodes about action movies Buy merch for yourself or those you love at www.teepublic.com/user/werewolfambulance on Reddit at r/werewolfambulance on Facebook at facebook.com/werewolfambulance on Twitter @werebulance on Instagram @werewolfambulance. werewolfambulance@gmail.com If you liked this, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen! This is going to tie in nicely. We also have to celebrate Ed Ganey's win of the Democratic primary in Pittsburgh. Fuck yeah, winning the Democratic primary in Pittsburgh is essentially winning the election. Yeah. And he's going to be Pittsburgh's first black mayor. Too dope. And we hyped him up, so I'm taking partial credit for this. Oh yeah, I spent a lot of time campaigning via Twitter for Ed Ganey. All of our non-Pittsburg listeners who follow me were probably like, please stop. But also I've been complaining to
Starting point is 00:01:30 Bill Padoo about Little Italy days, Bill Padoo being our current mayor, for the last five years and I've never gotten a single response and I message, I said, I tagged to Ed Ganey's campaign in a tweet about it and immediately someone from his camp contacted me and was like I'm putting together the the the the the the the the together together a together a together a together a together a together a the the toge the the the the the the thea, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, I I I I I I I I I I I'm tog-a, I'm toge-a, I'm their toge-a, I'm togu-a, togued, togued togued togued togued togged togged togged togged togged togged togge Ganey's campaign in a tweet about it, and immediately someone from his camp contacted me and was like, I'm putting together a spreadsheet of everything people are talking about on social media, I'm going to put this in front of Ed and no promises, but I'm going to put it in front of him. And I just thought like, wow, I've got a fucking response and you're not even the mayor elect.
Starting point is 00:01:59 You're still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still still. candidate. That's dope. It is dope. He didn't say, they didn't say, can you wait? Can you just... I like that Amanda Waltz used her city paper account to chastise me for it too. Oh, use the pro one, Amanda. But Katie, in honor of all these things, I brought us celebratory drinks. What is it? Oh my gosh, it's in a paper bag. The opening of the Oh my gosh, it's in a paper bag, which leaves me believe it's Mickey's. Bud Light Limes! Yes! You are my friend forever! I love you. I hope that's the case anyway, but yes. For those listeners who can't see us, which is all of you. How many ounces is this? 40? A metric ton? I have no idea. This is the biggest can I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:02:47 I can't read any of it. It's all written in white on light green. It's all, yeah, it's all, yeah, it's not for the elderly. It's about the, it's about the, it's a thicker than a regular can. It's about the thickness of like a head of a baseball bat, I feel. Yeah. Yeah, it it it it's the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Oh my god. It's got a refreshing, it's a refreshment with a twist. Okay you guys ready for this? Oh god it's so hard open. Happy summer Alan. Happy summer to you. It's a hundred fucking degrees up here. This thing is gonna be so gross by three quarters of the way down when it's just room ass warm. That's why we have to drink it as fast as we possibly can.
Starting point is 00:03:30 To you, my friend. Cheers to you. Thank you. Can't tell you what my intro is going to be? Yeah, please. What's your favorite snack? What's my favorite snack? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:48 They pair well with beer. Oh yeah, a little bit of space, a little bit of a cool, chilling beer. Yeah, there you go. And you? Am I sad or happy? Am I sad or happy? Let's go first with happy. I'm going to say Skittles or a big old box at Cheese It's. Okay. And sad? Oh, Cool Ranch Doritos.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Okay. Wow, the Cool Ranch is a sadness thing. Oh my God, yeah. There's like nothing that will keep you from killing yourself more than Core Ranch Doritos. I'm sure of it. Symbalta. Just Coal Rancheritos and disintegration. by the cure, enjoy yourselves. All of this is to say, I have nothing to say about
Starting point is 00:04:27 this week's film. Oh, the Conjuring? Two? Back in that heaven? Oh, God. It is two hours and 14 minutes long. Who chose this? I think it was kind of a problem between us. Oh God that's good. Yeah, yeah, it's refreshing. That's so good. My first note says, I remember literally nothing about the first movie. Hope that's okay. It is. It is fine. It does not matter. My first note, let me open that up real quick. I like how you're sitting there with that thing in your lap, locked, like a non-professional. My first note is, Ed and Lorraine Warren, back on their bullshit. They are back.
Starting point is 00:05:11 I feel like they are so much more bullshitty in this one than they were. Oh my God, because this one is so much more bullshit. It is so much more bullshit. Oh my God. And then I, when I saw the actress that plays the actress, the actress, the actress, the actress, the actress, the actress, the actress, the actress, the actress, that, the actress, the actress, that, that actress, that, that, that actress, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, tha, that, th, th, th, th. th. th. thin, thin, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, tha, the the the the the thin, the thin, tha, thin, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha,. I thought, oh yeah, I remember liking her. And I just do not in this one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. She's just, I don't know if she didn't want to be there. I don't know if they didn't want her to be there, but something is going very wrong.
Starting point is 00:05:33 What about Patrick? He's just such a, oh yeah, a cactus. You're still not dead, huh? Weird. Not that we're wishing death on him, I'm sure he's a nice man. No, no, no, I'm sure he's very nice. So this is James Wan and Company again. their thing. The first one minute, the first movie is Joe Lies and the movie, are, are, are, are, are, are, are, are, are, are, are, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, the the the the the the the the the, I, the, the the, the, their, their. th. thi, thi, their. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We. We. We. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th movie are the last movie again? It's all Amityville bullshit again. Wait, was the first movie Amityville? No, the first movie was Joe Lies when he cries and... You're right, you're right. Office space. Oh, that's right. Which they were just
Starting point is 00:06:17 nobody's, right? Yeah, I think I was making... were they a haunting in Connecticut? Is that what they were? I don't know? Because when they were doing the ammety. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. thi, thi, their, their, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. th. th. their, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. Oh, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their't know. Because when they were doing the Amityville stuff, I was like, oh, you know what? I've seen this movie. And then I was like, stupid, you've just seen Amityville horror, all of them. Oh, we still haven't seen the third one, Amityville in 3D. I have actually not seen that, you're right. And I frankly hope that the first country was Amityville. That's hilarious. No, it's Joe Lies when he cried.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Yeah, I think I'm just mixing it up with a fucking, what's his face? Amityville? Yeah, yeah, but the, not the one from the 70s, but the one with Brian Reynolds. The guy who was completely miscasted in that film. Did you just not want an insanely buff man? No, I didn't for 70s dad. True. So yeah, we see like the famous photograph that they supposedly took in Amityville of the little kid hiding behind the banister.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Oh, I didn't see that. Oh, well, that's the little kid that's running around with his eyes lit up. And then we see the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the wholethen we see the whole family with her eyes lit up. Oh did we? That's it. I just, well Lorraine is like she's super on her bullshit right now. They're doing a seance and she's like walking around the house. And then when she cocks the gun, when Ronnie cogs the gun, I laughed like a mad woman because she looked so silly doing it. They did not teach her how to do it. No. No. I was waiting for her to go p-p-pew when she shot somebody. Oh my god this movie and the next movie have that fucking walking our way around at someone else's memories bullshit. Oh my
Starting point is 00:07:55 God I cannot wait to talk about that in next week's movie. So there's like a scene where there's all the children with the bloody night clothes in the basement. It's just, I feel very like, is this meant to be scary? Because it's not. I am convinced that they think the scariest thing on earth is a giggling, running child. It's like they've never lived with a child. That's literally a lot of what they do. Because remember in Insidious, there's like the little in the little in the little, in the little, the little, the little, the little, the little, the little, the little, the little, there's like the little like Newsy that's running around the house. It's just putting on your records and you're like, Newsy, put it down.
Starting point is 00:08:29 And then, uh, the kid. Yeah, that's what they do, they run and they laugh. It's actually very joyful. None if it isn't. Well, not if there's a nun. they could do the movie The Nunn? Is that really just, they just put that in there to tie into another franchise that they were planning to make? Isn't that why they did Annabelle in the first movie?
Starting point is 00:08:51 Fucking hell. It's genius because people eat it up with a fucking knife and a fork. I mean this movie got rave reviews. It is like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like a the the their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the their. their. their. their. the their. the the th. th. th. th. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. the the the the they. the. the th of those things that I'm just like, I don't know who this is for. It seems like it's for children. But children don't have that kind of attention span. They don't. And they also would be scared shitless if they watch this. Yeah, I don't know if it's like a intro to horror, where like maybe you'll see this and then you'll see, oh, thi thi Amityville? And then you'll see the Ryan Reynolds version. And then you'll be like, what if there's something better?
Starting point is 00:09:26 And then you'll see the second Amityville where the brother and sister are fucking, and then you'll be like, I think I'm out on this. Or, or the first one, I guess. You'll see the guy in an Italian horror movie. Yeah, sounds good. Lorraine says, this is as close to hell as I want to get, and then freeze frame, which they do several times. I wish the Jake Kyle Spann song would have started.
Starting point is 00:10:02 That's a song reference for all of our younger listeners. Your younger listeners have classic rock radio that they accidentally outland on. That's right, they're just listening to DV. Across the country. Speaking of things you have to hear but don't want to, such as DV. I was also getting really mad in this movie because my fucking neighbor, it's yelling around season here in the city of Pittsburgh. Oh for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:26 Every year I forget about. My fucking neighbor, Wario just would not stop yelling around for the duration of this film. He was just, who are you talking to on the phone for two hours, Wario? His name is Wario? Well, his name's Mario, but he scowls a lot. Oh my god. Cut to England. Do you like that England montage? Where they were like British things? British stuff. Trash strike. Margaret Thatcher. British stuff. Nineteen-Syce. Here's a punk rocker. Yeah, right. We're gonna play the clash and then you'll know it's England.
Starting point is 00:11:07 It's definitely like London Calling too. Yeah. It's like, yeah, yeah, the London song. What is this thing in the middle of my face that I, oh it's my nose. It's my finger on my nose. James Wan is sitting right on her. James Wan, it's not cool. It's not cool. Get off my nose. I thought the little girl who played Janet was fantastic. Okay. Did you not enjoy her? She was fine. I thought she was great. Yeah. I really liked her. I feel like she was playing with playing, like these characters really well. Yeah. Yeah. I like how that teacher smoked the cigarette. I did like that. I wish she had said core blindiny before she smoked it. You always want British people to say
Starting point is 00:11:47 corblini. And all my years of watching British TV, I don't think I've ever heard anyone actually say it. I always want people that are most likely American actors playing British people to say core blind. I always want them to dick fan dike it. Is that little girl American? I don't know. Oh wow. I just assumed everybody was. She did a nice. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do. Do? Do. Do. Do? Do? Do? Do. Do? Do. Do? Do. Do? Do. Do. Do. Do? Do, the the the the the the the the th. Do. Do, the the the the th. Do, the the th. I? th. Do. I. Do, th. I th. I want, th. I want, their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. th. th. th. th. th. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I. I. I. know. I just assumed everybody was. I thought she did a nice job. Yeah. Okay. Do you like how the mom and then lady across the street are both named Peggy? Yeah. It's a British name. I mean, I guess they're based on real people.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Sure. And they're both actually were named Peggy. But I, in the scene where she's like, I don't know Peg Peggy, what do you think? And she's like, Peggy, you just can't Peggy about it. And I just like, I kind of lost my mind about it. Is this your smurf English people? Just peg, you can't be like that. Why not Peggy? Because you can't, Peggy. Now Peggatha,
Starting point is 00:12:34 Did you like that the little girls had skisking hutch on the wall confused me. I think at some points, there was almost like an artful touch about it where you would go into the room in the dark and you'd see a face and you'd be like, what the fuck is that, but it's really starsky and hot. Yeah. But I don't even know if that was intentional or they were just like, little girls have posters the boy posters of boys on the wall. They rarely have posters of 45 year old man on their own.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Like I'm surprised they didn't have the Burt Reynolds on a bearskin rug poster. So sexy. It was just like, start skiing. I mean, there were literal heartthrob teens from America if you wanted to go to start to see a true story, those were probably the posters that were on the wall. You think Janet and, uh, what's her sister's name? Also Peggy. Margaret? Presumably Peggy, Jr. Do you think they were like, yes, we had Starskinned Hatch posters and the producers were like, all right. That sounds plausible as plausible as this bullshit story. tha. thahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. this. th. thi. this. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thoomoomoome. thi. this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah sounds plausible. As plausible as this bullshit story. You don't think the infield haunting is real. No, I don't think any.
Starting point is 00:13:48 What about those pictures of her jumping off the bed? You mean the ones that are obviously her jumping off the bed? Those are the ones. Or she's got extreme exertion face? Well, she's screaming in terror. Yeah. Or saying, we're saying, we're Or I'm a ghost. A question. Yeah. Did Ed Warren really get in fights with people on talk shows?
Starting point is 00:14:11 I'm sure. He had to have. Really? He was a very fiery individual. Was he? I guess. He looked like he looked like mad dad. Yeah. If you ever seen pictures of him? He's got a heavy brow. For sure. And that like 50s greaser haircut that he never gave up on. Like her Russell. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And his
Starting point is 00:14:31 love of Elvis. Yeah, Mad Dad. He's Mad Dad all over the place. Yeah, yeah. How dare you question me on my bullshit? Because it's actually quite bullshitty. I love that all the people in this movie never get like their come-up-ins that question them and I'm like yeah they shouldn't because you're bullshitting. It's insane. Oh if you don't want to hear me talk about how shitty the Warrens were for the next hour or so you should probably not listen to this podcast not a fan. Yeah if you're a fan of them maybe just to to the ne the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to to to to to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be th. th. th. th. thi. thin. thin. thin. thin. thin. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thooooooooooooooooooo to to to to to next week's movie, which I'm not going to tell you now so that you don't hang up actually. Boom! Yeah, I'll tell you later. I got very excited that they lived off of Green Street.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Yeah, Green Street Hooligans and West Ham United and all that and I was like, oh man, a wonderful Lodge of this film. Oh, he would have been a nice addition to this film. the film. the film. the film. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know he has a West Ham United tattoo because of that stupid movie. Wait really? Did he become a fan of the club? I'm assuming? Well, I hope so. They weren't like, you're going to have to get a tattoo for this. And he was like, yeah, do it.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Do you ever see that movie? I guess. I'm forever blown bubbles, let's do this, people. Do you ever see that movie? Yes. It's real bad and it's real good at the same time. I think I got it on digital versatile disc. Oh wow. I think Rob owns it on digital versatile disc. When I think Hooligan, I think Elijah would.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yeah, with that sweet baby face. We're at the, what's the last name, Hodgson? You got it. We're at the Hodgson home and the swing is swinging by itself, which is a very unique way to represent a ghost. I've never seen that in a film before. This ghost, this fucking ghost. Oh, I don't have any notes for a while because I said, I wrote, painting my toenails,
Starting point is 00:16:24 BRB. Okay, so remember in the first conjuring movie that didn't take place in the Amityville Horror House, which I did not remember. I don't remember what the bad guy was. It was a witch. Yeah, yeah, that hung herself out in the tree and the yard. Vaguely. I only remember that though because that was like the front cover of the film. Right, and then in this movie you see the painting that Ed Warren did of the
Starting point is 00:16:55 house. Did I? Yeah, yeah. And what was his painting? the the painting? the painting? thi. thi. thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi. thi. thi. thi? I, thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. I the. I the. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. No, they were both before they became paranormal investigators, they were both going to be like crafts artist people like... Oh, should have stuck with that. Yeah, no way, they made tons of money off this shit. Yeah, that's fair. But that's just praying on people. Well, technically they never charged anybody for their services. Oh, okay. But they made they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they made they they made they made they made all they made all they made all they made all they made all they made all tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tho tho tho tho th. th., technically they never, they never charged anybody for their services. Oh, okay. But they made all their money bullshitting on talk shows selling books.
Starting point is 00:17:28 That, you know what? I'm okay with that. Yeah. Yeah. Because people have the choice to buy that book. Exactly. Right. But they also fed into people, sure. Over things. their things and religious mani. And just like using God is like, their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. they. they. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they're. tod. tod. tod. They're today. today. today. took. took. took. today. took. tod. today. today. today. they they they they they they they today. They token. Yeah and apparently they would, um, well you kind of see in this movie, they they take what could have been, I don't know, a paltrogyst or a haunting and were like, nope, demon, gotta be a demon. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of problems with this demon. Sure. But there is a ghost and a demon, that's the problem. Double up, uh, uh, yeah. When I dip, you dip, we dip. My next note says, I think all I missed was this boring firetruck gag, which is like two minutes of a toy firetruck moving on its own, perhaps.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Again. Never seen the toy fire truck move on its own. And then the man screams in the tent, but he just goes, Ah! I am a sucker for a jump scare? There was an, I didn't, I didn't get sucked or scared. There's a ton of jumps in this movie. And a ton of jumps, I don't know how many scares. A lot of them are just like a face over someone's shoulder, like a silly looking face, too, just like Insidious when that Darth Malm guy pops up. Da da da da.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Was Insidious before or after this? That was before this. That was before this. Okay. So they were like, that worked so well in that movie. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Yeah, that's what this movie is, this haunted house movie ever ever ever made. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Oh, the chair is rocking by itself now. How novel. How Emityville Horror. Uh-huh. You've seen the Nicole Kidman vehicle, the others? I have not. Oh shit, we should do it on this podcast. Maybe we will. That movie uses, um, is that a ghost or a face in a painting in low light to great effect?
Starting point is 00:19:26 Okay. Whereas this movie is like, yeah, no, it's a painting. Your husband was just doing that painting a second ago. Yeah, but when that none runs at her holding the painting in front of her face, I lost my mind. I overwhelmed it and watched it a couple times because it's so fucking funny. I want the none to yell, Bukh-puk-buk-buk-da! Just holding a painting in front of your face is so funny to me. What?
Starting point is 00:19:53 A painting of yourself? If I had a portrait of myself, though, I think I would genuinely do that. Hold in front of me and be like, it's a big patio. Are we for telling you don't have a picture of yourself pageed above your fireplace in your home? I got the TV above the fireplace. Oh, that's what it is. Yeah. I do project an image of myself on it at all times, but that's different. I just use like my Google home or whatever. The ghost keeps changing the channels while Janet's trying to watch TV and I thought, well well well well well well well well well the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost the ghost th. th. th. th. th. thi thi. th. the. the. the. theat. thi's thi. the. the. the. the. the. I the. I the. I th. I'm the the the t. I t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. t. te. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. trying to watch TV and I thought well you're not normally home at this time maybe this is what he he just wants to watch Margaret Thatcher I said this goes the fucking Thatcher right and he is because he's an old man he's an old man in the UK in the 70s so he definitely loves Margaret Thatcher who
Starting point is 00:20:34 they have a clip of her being like I am the iron lady lady just like no I'm Margaret Thatcher. And then it quickly shifts to Iron Maiden playing and just like, no, okay, whatever, that's fine. But this is one of those scenes where the guy just pops up behind her and yells, my house! Oh my God. Meanwhile Ed and Lorraine are just like sitting at the breakfast table. Ed's sideburn, I know it's the mid-1970s, but Ed's sideburns are out of control. Well, I mean, he was a man of the 50s, apparently. That's terrible. And I just thought, like, their daughter comes down while they're having this conversation
Starting point is 00:21:17 about how they can never do another haunting and like their daughter Judy? I'm sorry. She's gonna stay with a neighbor maybe or something. Judy, I'll have money for pizza and smoke for me back in a couple months, I guess. It's Christmas, see you later. Right, we have to go with our new family and our new little girl. She's younger than you. Yeah. You know what, though, Judy's probably having a better time, because they have to be so fucking embarrassing for her. Oh, my cash register came up short.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Maybe it was a demon. Let's blame demons for everything. God damn car won't start. Demon. The demon left the lights on, battery died. Did you pray hard enough to Jesus? Maybe you didn't. Demon.
Starting point is 00:22:03 The backs of my knees are so sweaty right now. I'm sorry. Demon. Hellfire. You gotta man spread. Just get out to rub your knees on the chair. Put my feet up on this table. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:15 I'm worried about putting my stinky feet too close to you. It's alright. There's fans between us sort. I'll blow the stack away. I like Billy. I'm a fan of Billy, the little brother. Okay, first of all, it took me three quarters of this movie to realize there were two boys. Oh, Johnny? Yeah. Johnny's a real Judy for the first most of this movie. Totally. Yeah, Billy's adorable. Yeah, he keeps taking all his biscuits. And his little stutter. It's like heartbreaking, the thaa, tha, thiiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, I's a thi, I's a thi, I's a thi, I's a thi, I's a th. I's a th. I's a th, I's a th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I's a th. I's a th. I's a th. I's a th. I's a th. I's a thi, I's a thi, I'm a thi, I'm a thi, I'm a thi, thi, thi, thi. I'm a thi. I'm a thi. I'm a thi. I'm a thi. I'm a thi. I'm a thi. I'm a thi, thi, thitaking all his biscuits. And his little stutter, it's like heartbreaking to me. Okay, here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Yeah. You stutter? I'm automatically on your side. Sure. You make fun of somebody who stutters? I want to see you walk into traffic. Yeah, that kid should have gotten hit by a bus. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. while on fire. At least someone dying.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Does anybody die in this movie? No. Just part of my soul. Just part of my week. Just a large chunk of your week, actually. So the, you know, something's fucking with Janet. It pulls the blanket off of her and shakes the bed. Like, yes, I know this is based on the story of the Enfield haunting, but like, come on, spice it up, make it spicy.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Can ghosts like do different things? Like I don't know, unfold all your napkins or just something. I think if I were a ghost, I would just be a pest. Like I'd open your refrigerator, take out all the yogurt, put it on the kitchen floor, close the door. I think th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi, like thi, like thoom. Yes, like the tho- the tho- the tho-upe, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, floor, close the door. I think that's funny. Mom, somebody changed all my homework answers to poopface. Yes, that's hilarious. That's like the plot of Little Monsters though, isn't it? I've never seen Little Monsters. Really? That's a film we should do. Oh, nice. It's not really a horror movie, but it's really, it's really fun. Is that Howie Mandel? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:05 And both savages. Adam and... Fred and Corey. Well, Adam Savage is from... That's sure where they figure out how things should work and didn't work, yes. Yes. And his brother, Dan, Of sex column fame.
Starting point is 00:24:22 So not all the savage brothers. No, not all of the savage brothers. No, not all of the, some of the savage brothers. Oh fuck me. Something bites Janet and everyone's like, I guess that sucks. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No one really seems that upset by you? More upset when mom gets bit. Yeah. But luckily they immediately find the partial that's laying on the floor. Um, you mean in the six feet of water that she has stagnating in her basement? That was a bummer. That is what a. A. Why is that basement so big? It's huge. Well the outside of their house looks very small and then their living room is the size of my entire first floor. Sure. Yeah, but why the basement has 11 foot ceilings? Yeah. It the the the their. It their. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. their. their their. It's. their their their their their. Six. their. Six. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. the the the the their. their. their. their. their. S. their. It's. It's. It floor. Sure. Yeah. But why the basement has 11 foot ceilings? Yeah, it is luxurious. There's like a six foot drop down from the landing where the washing machine is down to the the crawl basement where the
Starting point is 00:25:14 swamp is. I was hoping there'd be an alligator in there that would just attack Ed Warren. With this movie presupposes as an alligator killed Ed Warren. I mean, what this movie presupposes is that Lorrainee the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is the th. th. th is th is the is the is the is the is the is thus is thus is thus is thus is thus is thus is thus is thus is th. is th. is th. is th. is is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is the the th is the the the the th is th is th is the th is th is th is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is the is th as an alligator killed Ed Warren. I mean, what this movie presupposes is that Lorraine foresaw his death by impalement. But actually he just went into a coma while letting his cat out to go to the potty. That's really what happened to Ed Warren. Yeah, I think he collapsed and became comatose. It's a bummer. Which is such an ignominious end for a paranormal investigator, you know. Maybe that demon was in the cat's butt. Came out when the cat went out to poop. Cat had worms, demons. The nun is so fucking comedic looking.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Is it Vera Farmisia? I was like, is that her in makeup? Is it? I don't know? I don't know. Her sister is in the nun movie though, Tessa, Farmisia of Final Girls, whom I loved in that movie. It's Bonnie Aaron's. Yes, I also loved her in that movie. I feel like I've liked Vera Farnesia and other stuff. Actually, I want to take that back. I don't dislike her her in this movie. I dislike everything she's thi's doing. Sure. Yeah. And that's because she's a Lorraine Warren. Yeah. Seemingly it was like, yeah, we introduced you to Ed and Lorraine Warren in the last film? They're superheroes now. And we're going to show you that they're superheroes, and they change people's lives for the better. And you are emotionally attached to them, so you're going to care what happens to them. You care about their love, which I find to be disgusting. No, the nun, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:48 The nun is redonculus. It looks like a Halloween costume that if your friend did it, you'd be like, that's dope, I'm proud of you. But it's not a movie thing. I do like that the nun is like Prince and Madonna, one name, that's all you get, Valk. Wait, the nun is Voloch? Yeah, yeah, yeah, the demon, then. Wait, okay. Wait, the demon is in the shape of a nun as we learn to blaspheme her faith, because everything
Starting point is 00:27:20 revolves from the Lord of the Warren's faith. Was the nun luring them there? Is this really all about them? Oh yeah, for sure. Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the demon, the demon, the demon, the demon, the demon, the demon, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the done, the the do, the do, the demon, the demon, the demon, the demon, thon, thoooooooan, thoooan, thean, thooan, the demon, thooomon, the demon, the demon, the demon, the th revolves from the law of the war in Spain. Was the nun luring them there? Is this really all about them? Oh yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, yeah. I mean being the most badass spiritual fighters that have ever existed, um, demons is coming for them.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Yeah, that's true. And this nun is... That's what happens to Sam and Dean, too. It's true. Well, I mean, they get all of heaven and hell coming for them in various, depending on what season you're watching. Well, that's a lot of content. Also, they're hot as fuck, so people are just trying to boom down. I would come for them any day of the week. Come at me, Paddellicky. because he's hotter. I figured I had a better shot with him. I can't believe Jensenackles was here for the filming of my bloody Valentine 3D and
Starting point is 00:28:06 we did not meet him. Sure, sure. Bummer. Yeah. Get in toughs, Jets and Ackles if you're listening. He's not and he won't. And truly, why would he? Why wouldn't he? Why? Speaking of why? Why does Ed Warren hang up that painting of the nun that he did?
Starting point is 00:28:26 He puts it on the wall like it's a fucking great... This is a real good painting. Oh my god. Because when his wife looked at it, she went, hubbubaboo, ha ha ha, bubob. But didn't tell him that that's the nuns' shadow that's the nuns she was like walking around the room and turned the corner. I thought it's it's like a creep it's it's original at least. For sure. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:28:51 But then it merged with a painting and then it ran in her and I was so happy. I was so proud of myself because when the shadow emerged with the painting I yelled and typed back in the habit. So I was very excited. Fuck, I wish Whoopi was in this film. Just telling it like it is, you know? Oh my God. So we realize this is all a dream that Lorraine has been having while reading her Bible? Yeah, of course you read the Bible, you're going to dream about nuns. I don't know what to tell you. Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah, there's other books, lady. When, uh, yeah, this is, even in the dream, she's ignoring Judy, which I thought was fucking hilarious.
Starting point is 00:29:35 What? Poor Judy. Do you think that woman, I mean, Judy is a real woman? Yeah. Do you think she watches moving and was like, they didn't love me, did they? This is a documentary. Those folks on werewolf amulets weren't lying. Judy, if you're listening, just don't.
Starting point is 00:29:51 Call tell Jenson Ackles to call us. Chris Sarandon, Jenson Acles, who ever once again touch. I have not thought about Chris Sarandon in a minute. Yeah, here you're welcome. Cold beer, Chris Sarandonededanan a nice summer. It's so much beer. I'm working my way down, it feels like. Oh for sure. But I can still see, nope, not that far down. Mmm. Chug, Chug, Chug, wow, he's going. So, we meet all the other like Enfield investigators, Morris Gross. That guy. He looked, he looked like he could have been playing a bad guy in a Willy Wonka movie.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Absolutely. Look, Slugworth has a partner. It's Mr. Gross. And Graham Morris, I guess, is also a real person? Yeah, I assume. And the skeptic woman whose name I just didn't write down. Me neither. She was great. Did you like her? I liked the, like every time she was in a room with them, she was like, so you're talking bullshit again, huh? She does say that quite a a bit, but I also felt like, why are you even here then? Just so everyone watching this could go, boo, why's she doing that? Why isn't she like our superheroes?
Starting point is 00:31:12 Anita Gregory, that's right, that's right. Um, I got very excited to write down when, so the TV, the TV. So a reporter comes out to do an interview with to the to the to the to the to to the to the to the to the the to the to do the the the the to do the the to do the the the the the the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, thi, wind of this the TV yeah the TV so reporter comes out to do an interview with the demon ghost whatever it may I think Janet but yeah well and so gross is there and I think Anita Gregory's there as well why do they keep inviting her over that's the thing I don't get why you're such a wet blanket Anita go home I assume it's thi thi to thi thi the to I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the to the the to to to to to to to to to the the to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-n. te-I te-I te-I te-I to-I to-I to-I to-I to- as well. Why do they keep inviting her over? That's the thing I don't get. Why? You're such a wet blanket, Anita. Go home!
Starting point is 00:31:48 I assume it's one of those things where you want the skeptic there so that they can be proved wrong that everybody else is going to believe you. That's fair, yeah. Even though Bump-bum-bum she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one, she's the one, the the one, the the one, the the one, the the the the the the the one, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I, I, I. I, I. I, I. I, I, I, I, I, I. I, I. I'm. I'm. the th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the th Yeah. So they do the interview and Janet slips into or Bill slips into Janet and starts talking in as the subtitles told me, male growling. Male growling. And at some at one point he's just going Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill. Can you pay my telephone bills? Can you pay my automobiles? I don't think you do. Automobile? You and me are there. Yeah, automobile. What are you singing? Destiny's Child, bills, bills, bills.
Starting point is 00:32:34 I'm sorry, I'm not familiar. How dare you. Try for nothing, type of brother. I'm really more familiar with Beyonce as a solo artist than Disney Showed. Yeah, you would be. I like her early stuff from Michelle and Kelly. What about the fourth one that when she felled on stage, they all just looked at her and then kept dancing. She didn't hang around too long. I don't even know who that is. I just remember
Starting point is 00:33:06 seeing a clip of them like strut out on stage and her falling and them going dump nope any way walk trut dance look they're fucking professionals. Oh I'm sure the like someone would have like whoop somebody's ass if they had stopped to help her. Yeah yes bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill bill on mobile bills. I'm gonna stop to help her. Yes, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill. Okay, my automobile bills. Automobiles, I kind of love it. I think it's actually very clever. Bill seems like a real dick, though.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Yeah, he's a 17, a 17-year-old man who just wanted to see his family again. Oh yeah, I guess that's not that dick. But is he biting her? Who's biting her? Well, it's Bill because the, uh, when they find Bill's dental plate in the basement. He shouldn't have written Bill on it, I didn't need to... Property of Bill Wilkins. Why is he biting a girl? Because that's what demons do. They always be biting people. But he's not a demon. He's a spirit. But he's controlled by the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon is demon. the demon is demon is demon is demon is. the demon. the demon is. the demon is the demon is inside. the the the the the the the the the the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the demon. the d. the d. the d. the d. the d. the d. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. I thean. thean. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thean inside the spirit is inside the girl. Yeah, it's a Russian nesting doll. I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:34:05 I don't like it. What's inside the demon though? Candy. There's a little pinyata full of those square snickers. You know what I mean? That's one of those waxy coins is in the center of the waxy chocolate coins, some guilt. Uh, the thi, the th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi, what's thi, what's thi, what's thi, what's thi, what's thi, what's thi, what's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. What's thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi. What's thananananan The whole crooked man thing. I like the stop motion.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Sure. Yeah, but they kind of was like, oh man, I don't remember this in Sleepy Hollow. I don't remember it from Sleepy Hollow. When he had the lantern that made the ghost and the witches fly around on the room. That sounds interesting. Yeah, that was pretty fun. I remember just not looking the movie. That movie is butthole. I love the th. But th. But th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. I the. the. I thea. I thea. thea. I thea. I thea. I thea. I thooooooooooooooooooo. I the liking the movie. That movie is Butthole. Oh, I love that movie.
Starting point is 00:34:45 But you know that. I do. No, Bud Light's repeating on me. Yeah, I'm getting a little burpy over here. Why don't we have the note, the dog is the crooked man? Yeah, the dog, the neighbor, the neighbor's dog, has been taught to ring a bell by the door when it wants to go out. And they're all sleeping at Peggy in Vic's house. Poor Vic, it's such a raw deal in this movie. And they hear the ringing and so Billy gets up to let the dog out.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah. But the dog is just sitting at the door like growling. And then stands up and it's the crook. It's the stop-in-stop-motion, crooked man, which I thought was actually pretty good. I thought it was scary. I got so excited because a priest comes to visit the Warrens and it's like, hey, this thing is going on in England, we really need you to go and represent the church there, since as I wrote down, you're the church's A-team. Are they? Look, when the church can't be seen doing the the we've got to go to the A-team who's out there, you know, running under cover. Is that to Hogan's heroes?
Starting point is 00:35:50 That was the team, you got it? Yeah. Uh, the whole idea of them being like the, like, not representing the church when all they do is talk about the church and are on TV constantly. the church. About the church. Yeah the church. Yeah the the the church. Yeah the the the the the the the church. I the the the church. I the church. I the church. I the church. I the church. I the the the the the thoing the the the the the thoen. I was thoes. I was thoes. I was the the the thoing. I was thoing. I was thoing. I was tho. I was, tho. I was, the their their their their. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was th. Yeah. I was th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was like. Yeah. Yeah. I was like, th. I was like, th. I was like, th. I was like, th. I was. I was like, th. I was like, th. I was really excited because I thought the priest was John Larricette. I was like, fuck yeah, John Lerick, no, not John Lerick. No, not John Lerick. That would have been an extremely weird casting. This is where Lorraine is like worried about all the vision she's having and her husband says,
Starting point is 00:36:24 those visions are a having and her husband says those visions are a gift from God. Dude, saying the troubling things are a gift from God or part of God's plan is so fucking insulting. So insulting. Oh man. This just reminded me of those couples that call each other mother and father. Like I feel like the pences. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they have that kind of vibe to them. That's so weird. So they were, Lorraine earlier in the movie was like, I'm not doing it anymore.
Starting point is 00:36:56 I'm out. Give her a fucking break. Maybe she should just raise her daughter or get a real job. Or both, you can do both things. You're a modern woman. For sure, for sure. Your hair looks great. Yeah. Oh yeah. Wasn't in the last movie, wasn't she all like rocked out in like Victorian dresses or something? Like... She's wearing very fussy things and had very fussy hair. Her hair is much less fussy in this film. And I feel like her outfits are much more like pantsuitish or something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. And I feel like her outfits are much more like pantsuitish or something. Yeah, she looks more professional. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's just like just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in. I know, I know. And she just keeps having this vision of Ed dying by impalement.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Yeah. And we're supposed to believe it might actually happen even though we know Ed just dies of old age at this point in history. She's like talking to, Lorraine's talking to Janet. Yeah. And she's like, I saw an angel. And you're like, no you fucking didn't, Lorraine. She did when she was a child. No she didn't! No one believed her until she met the person who did. You know what I did when I met him? Had... I married him. I married him. Because we met in high school. We married now. Well that's normal back then. Sure. Yeah, yeah, but it's just like he's the one who believed me. Because he also got touched by a demon or something under his bed.
Starting point is 00:38:25 I just don't know what to believe about that. I mean, I know what I believe, but I just don't know why they believe it. Because it seems like they genuinely believe it. So when I was, oh god, I'm probably six years old. I had this incredible hulk blanket that was made of this real, like material that light could pass through. Yeah. Do you have like satiny edges? I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know exactly what you mean. And it like piled up real easily.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yep, yep, yep, yep. But it had a print of like the Incredible Hulk busting through a wall on it, so it was super dope. That's really cute. It was really cute. than wearing purple pants sitting on my bed. Oh my god. The Incredible Hulk is green with purple pants. Yeah. But for like that split second, I was 100% sure that there was a green goblin sitting on my bed.
Starting point is 00:39:12 So Lorraine and Ed Warren just were like, yep, going with it. Just yeah, just taking this at absolute face value. How long did it take you to realize that it was just the incredible ho? I mean when th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho tho thuuuu, I thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, I was, th, th, th, I thi, I thi, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thu, thru, throoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, I was th incredible hope. I mean when I moved the blanket it was yeah yeah. He were like oh I see. Yeah but like it's stuck with me because there is that like visceral hit of adrenaline for like when you wake up and you see what you think is a little green goblin sitting on your bed. Totally in college I had this nightmare that I was sitting on the lawn of the cathedral of learning and a like a crow like a th like a the the the the the th. the the th. like like like like like like like like like like like the like like like like th like like like like like the like a the like like like a th like a the like a th like a th like a the like a th. Like a thro their their their their the like a like a like a thro their. their. their. their. there was like a like a like a like a like a like a like a like a like a like a like like a like like like like like like a like like a like like like a like like a like like like like a like a like a like a like a like a like a like a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thro. thro. thro. thro. thro. thro. th. thro. there is like a there is like a there isthen a bunch of crows like started landing on me and pecking at me and I like woke up from the stream like with a start and I had like a dark colored blanket on my bed and it was sort of like bent up on one side and I literally woke up running.
Starting point is 00:39:57 I ran so hard I hit my dresser and fell over because I just woke up running thin that that was a fucking crow. Your brain just weird things while you're sleeping. Sure. Lorraine does not see this while she's sleeping. She sees it while walking around. It's true. It's true. Lorraine! I mean, but I do like the idea of basically telling a child, she's making this whole thing up.
Starting point is 00:40:13 What now? Yeah. Okay. But also like because she is making this whole thing up and then her mother is also making this whole thing up. I like... And her sister is making this whole thing up. Yeah, I immediately was like drawn back to the Salem witch trials where everyone just went along with it. And 20 people died because of that. And I'm just like, so that's why I get bummed at the Warrens for like feeding into this shit. And this is like the satanic panic of the 80s was fed out of the shit as well. Well those people were all
Starting point is 00:40:58 hallucinating though. Who's that? The Salem witch trials. Yeah,, that's one of the theories. Yeah, I think that makes the most sense to me. They also may have just been bored. Yeah, it's pretty boring to be. Yeah, you know, alive around nothing? Yes. We like got so mad about being bored during a pandemic and we had every fucking streaming service. You know. Right. I ordered food constantly. I never worried about starving or being runoff of land I shouldn't be on. Or just being a religious zealot. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So Ed's trying to talk to Bill and he just like wants Bill to recognize him. He's like, do you know who I am? It's like, why is this about you Ed? Don't be a fucking fame whore. Bill, I know you watch TV all day. I'm on the catheter ad channel too.
Starting point is 00:41:51 Yeah, the whole, like, I wanted something more out of that scene of like, when Janet holds the water in her mouth and they're doing the like intervention with Bill and to prove that it's not ventriloquism. They're like Bill, you've disappointed me in the following ways. You bit Janet. You keep yelling my house. Bill for Christ's sake. But there's the whole thing where they focus on Ed's face of Angry Dad's face and in the background Janet
Starting point is 00:42:26 morphs into Bill in blurry vision and I was like that could have been used somehow to greater effect it was like it was almost too subtle for these movies right if you're gonna hit the nail hit it hard right yeah for sure so so so Ed shows Bill the crucifix that he carries around his neck and he fucking freaks out. But we've seen the whole room covered in crucifixes upstairs and that does not seem to bother him. And why? Um, yeah. Okay. I mean, I guess you have to have the power of belief behind them, right? My note here says the moral of this movie is that old people are miserable and should be removed from your home at once. So. But. But. But, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, he thi, he thi, he thi, he thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, the the thi, thr-f, thr-fi, thr-feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, the, the the the the the the the of this movie is that old people are miserable and should be removed from your home at once. So I guess that's what I was thinking at the
Starting point is 00:43:09 time. By bringing in slightly younger people to take them out of your home. The cross turns upside down. I know, I know. I'm sorry, a cross, you mean 50 crosses turn upside down. Oh, this is when Janet gets pulled into that room, which is locked from the. th home. So th th th th th th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So th. So, th. So, th. So, th. th. So, th. th. th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, thi. So, thi. So, I th. So, I thi. So, I thi. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I I I I th. So, I I I I I I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. So, I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I'm, I'm thi. I guess, I'm thi. I guess, I'm thi. I guess, I guess, I guess, I guess, I'm thi. So, I guess, I thi. Oh, this is when Janet gets pulled into that room, which is locked from the outside. Yeah, that was great. That was the being pulled through the floor was great. Yeah, I love that she wakes up stuck to the ceiling. I thought that was neat. Yeah. And then she gets pulled through the floor, or through the ceiling to the floor and the next floor up. Yeah. That was cool. the. the. the the curtain her stunt double is clearly a full grown-ass man? I did, I did. Five, ten, one ninety guy. With a full beard. Yeah. Call it limie. And I just kept thinking maybe put this chair outside. It seems to have something to do with the chair. Yeah. Because the chair came with the house. I mean...
Starting point is 00:44:05 And they made a big deal of it at the end that mom died in the same corner of the house. Dun, tun, tun. It's like, yeah, she died at home like a lot of people did. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh my god, then it buys them Elvis. the ghost. Does the ghost the power? I think the ghost cuts the power. The only makes a record player not work, yeah, yeah. Which is so, that's the kind of shit I would do if I was a ghost. I'd be playing Elvis, no, you're not.
Starting point is 00:44:28 I would just keep turning it down. Yeah, that is funny. Because they'll think it's broken, they'll take the, thrown again, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, I just just just just the UB40 version. No one wishes for that. Oh, thank you very much. Can I read you my next note? Well, it says, don't play guitar ed, and then I wrote, this is bad and dumb. I'm going to go pick up my kid early.
Starting point is 00:45:04 So I turned off the movie and I just picked up Lucy an hour early. Thank you for stopping the movie. Yeah. Just nothing. Then my next answer is, all right, I'm back a day later and I forgot I left off in the middle of his Elvis routine. Oh my god, he sings the entirety of that song. It's a music video. It is. And he's doing the full lip. the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. L. L. L. L. th. L. th. L. L. L. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I's. I's. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. t. t. t. t. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It song. It's a music video. It is, and he's doing the full lip and everything. And they love it, they're eating it up, and Lorraine is in the doorway, it's just like, I love this man so much, instead of being appropriately humiliated. Well, it's 1977. Every white person on earth legally had to love Elvis. That's true. Maybe you could just go play with his own kid though, you know? Who? Judy. Judy? Short, brown hair? Something like that. I believe that's the one. This is followed up immediately
Starting point is 00:45:55 by a quick like three-second scene of him picking up a video camera and going, it's so small and light. Oh, a comedy scene. Thank you for that. Oh, a comedy scene, thank you for that. Oh, man. Yeah. They see the pictures of the levitation and they're like, they're levitating and the woman's like, are you fucking kidding me? Ashley is just like, no. She's jumping.
Starting point is 00:46:18 She's obviously jumping. What are you guys talking about? Meanwhile, Lorraine is talking to Morris Gross, and he's like, I just really want to find evidence. I just really want to prove that this is true. And she gets all sanctimonious about like, and then he's like, actually my daughter's dead and I miss her. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:36 I was like, don't be fucking scementes, Lorraine, everyone out there is suffering something. something so like get off your holy high horse that made me very upset it was so like we do this so that we could turn around and do talk shows and write books about this shit and that's how we're gonna make money off of it yeah but like but don't do what you're doing right now right like only I get to. Yeah. Ugh. Smug. I hate smug. I think it's like the most unappealing character trait. Smugness? Smugness? Yeah, for sure. Yeah. Just know your trash like the rest of us. I did like the furniture moving and everyone seeing the furniture move.
Starting point is 00:47:24 I appreciated that stuff. Because it's always nerve-wracking in this movie is when like only one person one the the the the the the the th the th sm sm sm sm-s th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thus thus thus thus thus thus smugue. I hate thus thus smugge. I hate thi thi thus smugge. I hate smugge. I hate smugge. I hate smugge I hate hate hate th. I hate thate smugge. I hate thi thi thi thi thi thi thi-s thia-s. I hate thiaug. I hate theaug. I hate smug. I hate smug. I hate smug. the furniture moved. I appreciated that stuff. Because it's always nerve-wracking in this movie is when like only one person sees a thing. One person sees a thing. Only one person happens. Right. It's like in the X-Files, when Scully passes out every time and UFO goes overhead. Sure. It's such a bummer.
Starting point is 00:47:37 that's two? I think so. Yeah, because I think Dwight, well, I don't know, might be Dwayne Berry is in season one. I don't remember. They all blur together to me. Sure. So many times I've seen that. I usually go back and just watch select episodes.
Starting point is 00:47:59 Sure. Yeah. I'm a real monster of the week kind of guy. The overarching story, not a big fan of, but... It's like fairly compelling, I like it. Sure, for sure. I mean I watched all of it when it was on. Yeah. Anyhow. A face pops up in the standing water of the basement, and it's just like, James Wan, I get that you love this. Do you not see how fucking funny it is? Especially that you know that it's a 72 year old man. Yeah. Well, I have the note God is going to kick your butt, but I don't know why I have that note. I think he says that to Bill.
Starting point is 00:48:36 So at this point, so Janet trashes the kitchen, or Bill trashes the kitchen. Oh, this is when they get the footage of her. Yes. Yes. And Anita is like, not actually, yes. Oh yeah. Anita is like, look, she did it. She did this.
Starting point is 00:48:55 Yeah. And they're like, okay, well, we'll go home then. They just literally go home. The church. the church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church church. the church. The church. The church. the church. The church. The church. The church. Gotta hang out for that good church reputation, yeah. When do you find out what the church is doing? Anyhow. Say again. And then they get on the train and Lorraine goes, don't you think it's a little convenient that she happened to fake an incident in the only room that has a video camera pointing at it. And it's like, no Lorraine, I don't for th, th, th, th, for th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th thi, thi, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, I I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I'm th, I'm th, I'm th, I'm thi, I'm going thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi an incident in the only room that has a video camera pointing at it and it's like no Lorraine I don't I don't think that's convenient at all. I a hundred percent believe that the Warrens would have
Starting point is 00:49:30 been Q&O. They're also on the train just playing those tapes. There's other people here guys. It's rude. They have the people to get on the subway listening to their phone. Oh it drives their it drives their they they they they they they they they they they they they have their they have their they have their their they have their they have their their they have their their their they have they have their they're their their their people their their they're they're their they're they're their their their their they're they're they're they're they're their they're they're their they're their their their their their their their their their their their their they are are are are they are their their they are they are their their their their their to their to get I I are to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to to to te. I will will will will will. I thea. I thea. I'll thea. I the. I'm their theto their phone. Oh it drives me nuts. Help me it won't let me go that's what Bill's been saying. Because they're dullards they get two recordings one say. Dullards is such a good word. One saying like won't let help it let go. yeah, me won't me And it's just like hmm. I wonder what that would say They have to line it up. They can't just figure it out with their brains Yes, Judy has been well. She's doing all kinds of brain stuff. She like goes back to that the place from insidious the out there or whatever? Yeah, yeah, like, how does Lorraine do all this brain stuff? I don't know. She didn't have those th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho tho tho thi. thi. thin. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. tho. tho thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. that that that thoo. tho. th. th. th. I th out there or whatever? Like how does Lorraine do all this brain stuff? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:50:26 She didn't have those powers in the last movie, I don't think. I don't think she has those powers, period. Wow. Her sight was being blocked by the demonic presence. Okay, Bill. Shut up. They figure it all out at the end, and they're just like, together in real time. And it's the stupidest explanation you've ever heard, and it's the truth. Listen, if you've ruled out all possible answers except for the obvious ones, it's got to be
Starting point is 00:50:52 the impossible thing that's happening. That's Aukh's razor, right? I think so. Like Lorraine explains it all in Vic's car. Poor Vic, Vick, driving them back, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, and forth from the train station and it ends up all being about her. Sure. Oh my God. They have to know the nuns name. Bill gives her a little word puzzle to figure out a riddle if you will. Yeah. And it's, you are giving it at birth. Something else. Right, why doesn't he just tell her? He's, because he's scared of the demon.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Sure. And the demon, you know demons can't do riddles. No. It's like one of their like. Demon's like, he said nothing there. So she figures out that she has to know the nun's name. And it's valic. that she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she that she thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. th is th is th. th is th is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the to the the thi thi thi thi thi th wrote the nuns name in her Bible and it's Valic. Oh my god. Oh my god. How did you who told her that though God Jesus? But well I guess so no she learned it while she was in that dream when she
Starting point is 00:51:58 was ignoring Judy. Like in real life when she's ignoring Judy. So Judy's sadness and pain manifested the name for her, Judy's loneliness. Okay. And she's like listing off the sub-names, Hervalik, and one of them is the Marquis of Snakes? I wrote that down too. And I was like, ooh, that's a good dumb name for something. I wrote down, I am the Marquis of Snakes. At this point, so they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they've they're they're they're they're they're they're they Snakes. At this point, so they've gone back to the house, the demon is throwing a couch at Ed, which I really like and wish I could do.
Starting point is 00:52:31 Vic is trying to open up, the demon loves to close doors. The demon has been closing doors all day long. That's just like their thing. And so Vic is trying to hit it with an axe, but like not really trying trying trying trying trying trying trying trying trying to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the.o.o.e.e. the the the the the the the the the the thea.o. too. too. an axe, but like not really trying. And it's just like it's the climax of the film and I could not possibly care less. For sure, where Ed climbs up through the floor because earlier he saw some weak boards. That's right. He did. And he loved those and he knew that he could come back in. Ed remembers. And then also a tree has been hit by lightning outside and fallen down and it's now a point point point point point point point.

Starting point is 00:53:52 At one point I said Ed's about to get hoisted on his own petard. Um, when he gets hot steam in the face. He does, he gets steamed, yep. Yeah. He's kind of blind. Is my note? Yeah. What's your name? I'm sorry, I said she's having her come at me bro moment. But yes, okay so she knows the demon's name. Janet is like hanging out the window, Ed is holding on to her, the demon is holding on to him. Yeah. And instead of yelling the demon's name as she knows she should, Lorraine just keeps the the it's like won't you want you want to yell the demon's name eventually she does and I thought like do you think Valic is like shit I did tell her

Why? Why is Bill gone? Well, you know, they...
Starting point is 00:55:03 They, uh... But he never did get to see his family. Maybe their family now? They adopted Bill. Bill was their real dad all along. They have a moment outside with Janet where she was like, You said you needed one person to believe you. I have to. I love you.
Starting point is 00:55:27 Yeah. See, they've been there like three days. She's fucking in love with them. It's like your roll, Janet. Back to the curio room. Oh my god, his jerk-off room. I had forgotten all about it. I was so glad we got to see his jerk off room again. I have the note he stole the kid's crooked. Yeah, that's not cool. They're poor. Don't take a little boy's toys. There's Abigail staring at him over his shoulder. She got her own movies. Fireworks already. It's so light out. Yeah, I gotta get him started soon. I believe you mean Annabel. Annabel, what did I say? Abigail. God damn it. No it's fine you should definitely get everything from this film franchise right. And then the movie ends with them dancing I'm listening to Alice. The romance sucks. Why

Yeah, let's have it be just you and me.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Oh, that's the movie. Oh, Katie. I cannot believe how many people like this movie. Like 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. That is abysmal to me. I mean, the the the the tham. C. C. I bet they can't even hear it. And fans. It's fucking hot. It's really hot. That's why I bought these Bud Light Limes. I know, mine's getting warm though, I gotta chug a lug. Let's move
Starting point is 00:57:29 to the ratings phase. Yeah, right. What, you want to go first? Fine, two. Oh, okay. Is that more than it deserves? It's conjuring to, it gets two. There you go. I mean it's it's not... It's way too long. Yes. Way too long. For sure. And it's just a lot of the same stuff you've seen in every other movie. For sure. And all of their movies. I think too solid for this. I hope never to see it again. If someone asked me if I wanted to watch it, I would go home.
Starting point is 00:58:03 Yeah, for sure. Because I don't have two hours and 14 minutes to spend on something that has nothing for me. I would say can we just watch Poltergeist? Yeah, I would just watch Poltergeist. Yeah, I would say can we watch Poltergeist too, which I would rather watch than this movie. Yeah, yeah I'm gonna agree with that. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna agree, I'm gonna that. Yeah, I'm gonna that. Yeah, I'm gonna that. Oh my gosh, yeah. Katie. Uh, Katie. Now that we've rated this masterpiece, uh, I would like to to to to to to to to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read to read th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm boom bitty-bye and I'm a mighty pirate on the search for the legendary treasure of Big Whoop.
Starting point is 00:59:05 Also, neither you nor Katie fight like dairy farmers, and for everyone to look out behind them, it's a three-legged monkey. That would be amazing. Oh my God. What is that? That is from the Monkey Island franchise. My favorite Lucas Arts game. So much. Gutt Brush 3 but it has to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to fight to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. tho. tho. tho. tho. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. that so so much.
Starting point is 00:59:25 Guybrush Three-Broad has to learn how to fight by insult fighting at one point so you have to choose like the right end of an insult. Oh it's so good. Is this Patron of a name or we not say a name? I assume their name was Boom Biddy Bye-bye. But hold on a second. Their name is... Guy Brush Threepwood, Governor Marley, a three-headed monkey. Stans use boat sails.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Their name is Boom Biddy Bye-bye. Thank you so much, Boom Biddy, Bye-bye. Their name is, uh, their name is Gazz. Let's go with Gaz. Do you think Gaz is not what their name said? GAS is what their name says. That's one of the names that's offered here.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Okay, great. Well, thank you, GAS. Thank you for a joke you knew I would love, which I really super appreciate. And thank you for very much confusing me and speaking at a code where I thought we were definitely giving launch code instructions to the Russians, the Russians, what if it was though? Not again. We can't do that again. No, I mean, it was bad the first time. But you know what, thankfully Sylvester Stallone cleared it all up and rock you for. Katie. Alan. I am very excited to next week complete a trilogy. A trilogy? Yes, we did hush. We did husk. shit husk. So we're doing this based on a review we got on Apple podcast which I will read to you now.

I can't recommend this podcast enough and looking forward to the day to find for episode 237 of the podcast, but instead picked Scarecrow, 2013, and that's from Bobby Toadson, five stars. Thank you so much Bobby Toadsen. We're gonna do Husk. I have to, spoilers, I don't think this is the movie I saw, or maybe it is, I don't actually know. Let's do that next week. I love it. Katie.
