Starting point is 00:00:00 This is really the movie I liked. It might be. So here's what I think may have happened. I think I may have seen this, thought, well that's okay. Read that it was a remake of a movie from the 80s. Scarecrow. Saw that one and maybe liked that one. Okay. But now I really, I'm I'm upside down. I have no idea. I genuinely don't know. Did I ever see a scarecrow movie that was great? Or did I dream it? There's a movie called Night of the Scarecrow that's from the 80s. It was a TV film. I don't know. I just don't know. Starring the guy who was Dr. Giggles. If you ever saw Dr. Giggles. I did not, Alan, I was born in the 1980s. Ah, damn. Damn it, I'm a damn. I'm a thir. I was supposed to try not to giggle in this episode, so it was not to upset people.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Yeah, upset one-star reviewers. Hey, guess what? I'm a geriatric millennial. Did you know that? No, is that a fake? That's a new thing. People born between thirty five, I mean, I'm fine with them. Are you? Yeah. Who cares? If you get pregnant after 35, it's called a geriatric pregnancy. Did you know that? I did not. It's medically classified as a geriatric pregnancy. Wow. Wow. Yeah. So it's fine with me. I'm also not pregnant. I'm drinking a Budlai lime. Damn it, I laughed again. Well, I won't tell any jokes for the rest of the episode. Please don't be funny. tho. tho. tho. tho. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu, thu, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. Starting point is 00:01:45 It's not true. Katie, we're doing the movie Husk this week. As I said, the end of the trilogy of Hush, Tusk and Husk. Of the three, Tusk was way the worst. Oh for sure. Yeah. Yeah. And Hush was really good. Hush was great. Hush was just solidly in the middle there. For sure. Yeah. It's way better than the other movie that you thought was the movie that you saw. Well, that's not hard to do.
Starting point is 00:02:12 We'll get into it, though. We'll get into it, though. Lacey Chabare. What are you doing? That's her real name. I know. Oh, am I allowed to laugh or just you're not allowed to laugh? Oh, no, I'm just the one who's not allowed to laugh. Okay, cool. Cool, cool. I'm not allowed to be laughing. I'm not allowed to be woke. So can you be super sexist and not, and very serious?
Starting point is 00:02:32 Oh, wait. Why don't you just listen to a different horror movie? I'm glad that that was also stuck in your head. All fucking week. So we start off with five nerds in a car. Tribal tattoo. Oh my god. That don't come up and I was like, oh those are just yours, huh? You just got those. Those belong to him, I think.
Starting point is 00:02:59 My first note says, this is a solid 82 minutes and I like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. Get in get out you know. And they get they get into it right away. Six minutes in they have already split up. For sure. It's amazing. When they get hit by the birds I have the note that's a lot of dead flappers apparently I call birds. That's an interesting word for birds. They really, those crows really got in the way. Why did they do th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. thi. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they did they do that? Are the crows working for the scarecrow? Because that makes not a lack of sense. It only does from the premise that the one turns on the scarecrow later and is giving them the information they need.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Wait, does that happen? Yeah, that scarecrow is or the crow? The crow, the regular crow. How does he know? How does the crow know? The crow, are you kidding me? Crows, they can remember faces. Are crows, they can remember? Are crows, they're the same? Are crows and ravens the same thing? No, they're different. I think it's ravens I can remember. I thro tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thr- I throwns throwns throwns throwns I throwns I throwns I throws throws thoes thoes th thoes can th th thoes throws. I can't th th th th th th. I'm not that guy from Bird with a Crystal Plumage. You were not that guy. You're not that guy. Definitely not that guy. So yeah, five nerds in a car.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Yeah. One is the guy from the expanse before he was extremely jacked. He's still pretty jacked. Yeah. the thinks. I've seen some of it. Yeah, I got a space shows. They don't really hook me. No Not a big space guy. Rob's super into it. Okay. And then he's read the books too and said they're really good. Yeah, I've heard the books are good. That's a hot tip for you space fans. Yeah, you a space person? Go check out the space movie. You know what I don't really like space. Yeah, but I watched like the first th th th the first th the first th the first the first th th th the first th th the first th th th the first th th th th th th th th th th th thus thus thus the the the the thoes the thus thus thus to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. His haircut is almost too much. His
Starting point is 00:04:46 haircut and just the pouty-pouty lip faces he makes. I mean that's just the face that God gave him. Is it or is it injections? Is it filtered? So they get into a bird accident like a sully Sullenberger would have left parked that car perfectly. Yeah a bunch of birds hit the windshield and they just drive into a dish. I mean I probably would too. Oh, I've driven into ditches over less than that. I like that they keep focusing on the triving into ditches over less than that. Shhh. No laughing.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I should drive more carefully. Anyway, Kitty, I have some thoughts if you'd like to hear them. So they, uh, they keep focusing on that one crow that made it halfway through the windshield. Yeah, I was sad for that crow. He didn't have that coming, you know. Oh, have you ever seen the movie stuck? I was thinking about this movie the end of the day? No, I don't think so. It's by Stuart the the the the the the the the movie the movie the movie the movie the movie thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. T th. T th. The th. The th. The th. The th. I theeeeat theeat theeeeat theeeee. theeeeee. theeeee. the. the. the. the. think so. It's by Stuart Gordon of Reanimator Fame, the director of that movie. Briefly, I was like the guy from the police, but that's Stuart Copland and Gordon. And Gordon Sumner. I often want to say Gordon Shumway, but that's Alph. That's Alf. You guys watch Alf. Rob also fucking loves Alf. He can't.
Starting point is 00:06:05 He can't. We have all four seasons on Digital Versaill It. It's not a lot to like it. Does he also like the dinosaurs TV show? Not, not that much. He loves Frazier though, too. Yeah, yeah. He thinks it's really well written.
Starting point is 00:06:19 What are you going to do? Nobody's perfect. He's super nice to me. So, you know. Oh, I'm not, I'm not down on wrong. Why are you talking shit on my husband? I'm gonna tell him you said this because he's not gonna listen to this. Make a note. Oh, anyway, stuck is a movie. The bird in the windshield just reminded me of this. Do you remember? There's probably like 15 years ago now, a woman hit a homeless man, he got stuck in her windshield, she parked her car in a garage and let him die in the garage. I do remember that. Stuck presupposes, what if he got out and got revenge?
Starting point is 00:06:54 So it's this like beautiful movie in the sense of like, that man didn't have to die. No he didn't. So Stuart Gordon made a movie about him not dying. Was she drunk? that she was drunk? You'd have to be right. Yeah. Yeah. Drunker on drugs or something? Yeah. Geez. Don't drive drunk. Yeah. But that movie kind of like flew under everybody's radar. And I just want to give it a little shout out because it's actually like, it's this nice little thing of redemption for this person who shouldn't have died. Absolutely. That's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thn't thn't thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown thrown. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the th. thi. th. th. th. thi. th. th. thi. thi. thruu. thru. thr he died. Absolutely. That's inhumane. Oh, thanks for telling me about it. Yeah. And it's just like that bird. So I'm going to make a movie about the bird getting stuck. I mean, I think if the birds have gotten revenge,
Starting point is 00:07:33 although they threw themselves at the car seemingly, you know? Sure. So you're saying my movie, Kaka isn't going to be that good? I mean. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. I th. I th. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thi. I'm thi. I th. I th. I th. I theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I thi thi. I thi. I it. It's a short. So the crash does not wake up Natalie. No, she's sleep. How is she sleeping through this? Also, the nerdy guy, whose name I don't know. You talking about my boy's cat? Scott. He goes, my glasses. And then he just pulls him out of his lab and puts them back on it.
Starting point is 00:08:01 It's like, they were my glasses they were in my lap she wakes up she's like oh shit where is everybody shit oh fuck shit they all get out of the car and just like let her sleep it's very confusing oh Brian is holding her no not only wake up wait I referred him in my notes only as baby because they call each other nothing but baby so I assumed his first name was baby I'm baby Brian how you guys do baby baby I they thee? I assumed that that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi their their their their their their their their they's they's they's they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're thi thi the theeeeeeeeeeeeee. tho. tho. thoo. they they they. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're as baby because they call each other nothing but baby, so I assumed his first name was baby. I'm baby Brian, how you guys doing? Baby. I assumed that was it. I was very glad that their love ended early in this movie.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I genuinely wrote, I hope they never see each other again in this first scene and then they don't, really, which is great. Not alive anyway. No, and he's got frost that that that that that that that that that that's got that's got that's got that's got that's got that's got that that that that that that that that's got that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's got that that that's that's got that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. thi the. throooooooooooooooooo. th. th. th. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's got frosted tip, so he doesn't deserve happiness. He's also doing that thing where he's talking to her with his hand on the back of her neck, like a power move? Like he's fucking Bain saying, do you feel in control to her? Yeah, it is crazy. He's a crazy person. And he's supposed to be our hero, I think. He is, for sure. Sure. Well, it's of course Scott is our real hero as the nerd. Sure.
Starting point is 00:09:05 So they wake up after the crash. Everybody has passed out just from driving a SUV into a ditch, which I don't think what happened, but okay. I think where the implication is something a little bit more supernatural may have happened. I don't want you to tell me about implications. Which is that Johnny is gone and immediately I forgot Johnny existed. Johnny is the same as Johnny from last week. Yes. Also, every guy in this movie, it's basically like they just spun a wheel of like white guy names.
Starting point is 00:09:32 And it's like, hi, I'm Kevin and I'm Chad and this is Scott and Baby. Chris? Baby. Baby, common man name. Sorry, Johnny is missing and Girl Baby does not seem to get that at all. No. No. Well, why don't we just like, what's wrong, everybody?
Starting point is 00:09:53 It's like he's fucking missing, Girl Baby. But yet she knows where a gas station is from where they're broken down. Right. And Boy Baby is like, it's okay, honey. I love you even though you're stupid. Because I may or may not also be stupid. No, he is. But I use the controlling hand on your neck. There's a lot of winking between the two of them too, which I'm just like, come on. Don't, don't gross me out.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Unless one of you is farting and not telling everybody else, just quietly. Do you like how I can't winked the the the their their their their to their to to to to their to their their to to their to to to their their to to to to to their to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be their their their their their toldldld. their their told. their told. told. told. told. told. told. told. told. told. you? I like how you didn't bring it up, thank you. He cocked your head to one side while you were doing it though. It's like maybe you won't see the other eye if I distract you. Misdirection. Oh man. Mind freak. So. You saw my tooth. Isn't that one of his mind freaks who like steals people's teeth? Don't fucking touch people's teeth.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Chris Angel, get out of my mouth. Kevin Angel. Baby Angel. I have a little punch up for this scene in the movie. So the nerd and baby are running through the woods, or running through the cornfields. Yeah. And it's disorienting the same way that cornfield movie with Ed Warren that we talked about last week.
Starting point is 00:11:07 What's his name? That was high grass. High grass? Wasn't it a cornfield or was it just high grass? What the fuck? It wasn't called in. I think I'm mixing it up with children's the thing. I guess corn is just kind of tall grass. I'm no plantologist. Sorry for laughing. So when they're running in the field, suddenly Scott is winded. Yes. Like he's having an asthma attack and I was like I'll get your inhaler dog. Yeah. I thought he was allergic to corn. Sure. Which you know I probably am. Sure. As a nerd and as an asthmatic. Yeah. Yeah. So, th. So, that. th, th, th, I. th, I. th, I. th, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I. the the that. that. the the the the the the the the the the the that. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the the the the the th. the the. the. the. theer, dog. I thought he was allergic to corn. Sure, which, you know, I probably am. Sure. As a nerd.
Starting point is 00:11:47 And as an asthmatic. Yeah. So, he turns to Brian, and he's like, ah, track team, chess team. My punch up for the movie is athlete, mat-athlet. I think that would have been a little better. Perfect, I think so. Yeah. But we need to know that it's specifically chess because he's going to use like a vague metaphor later that I didn't get at all.
Starting point is 00:12:11 That you just really needed chits for or anything? Anything. Anything. But you know he's horny for chess, so... Why do you think these people are friends? They're none of them. We know nothing about Johnny. No. Baby is a jock. But he loves Scott and will not leave him behind for anything. And Scott is a nerd. Scott is the nerd. He's willing to let Chris die. Right. But Scott. Chris, to be fair, is the stereotype. He's like, um, if you were playing the classic board game, guess who, you might say, does your person look like an adult contemporary musician in a lightly Christian
Starting point is 00:12:50 band, a la Creed? And then it would be Scott. Yeah. Chris, what's his name? Chris, Chris. You were thinking of Scott's step. I must have been. But yeah, he's got that like, you could be any man face about him.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Yeah. Like, you're handsome and immediately forgettable. And why are any of them friends? What is your relationship to these people? I don't know, are they in high school or college? What? They could not possibly have been in high school. They were grown-ass adults.
Starting point is 00:13:23 But chess team, track team made me they they they they they they they they they they they they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were in they were in they were in they were in they were in they were in they were in they were in have been in high school. They were grown-ass adults. But chess team, track team made me think they were in high school. So colleges have track? I don't really you went to college. They certainly have track teams. Oh, 100% yeah. Okay, well there you go. And I think there's some history between Chris and Lady Baby. Because they're smoking in the front seat. they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're, they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi. We're thin, thi. We're thin, thi. We're thin, thin, they're they're they're they're they're they're they because they're smoking in the front seat and there's like, we cool, I'm cool, you cool.
Starting point is 00:13:50 It seems like he's jealous of her relationship with Male Baby. I got the impression from the very opening scene that they may have hooked up at some point. And if Brian... Chris and Lady Baby. No, I like my story better. That's fine. Okay. I do too. I probably would like your rewrit of this movie in any way shape or form. Well, they set up these people's relationships in literally eight seconds. Sure. It's like blah blah blah blah car wrecks. Yeah. Yeah. And they know that I'm fucking shwarma that I got today. Oh, where'd you get swarma from? B. B. their f f f. they they they they they they th. they're. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. -52, they make a satan shwarma. Yeah, I love their falafel.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Oh yeah, super good. Oh, they're good. Are they open? I guess they're open. Yeah, Tuesday through Sundays, 8.30 to 2.30, kind of rough hours, but... Yeah, it's not great. You have the day burgers are god damn delightful. Satan gives me the farts. Well, I'll give everybody the farts. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:46 As they say. Heavy farting. I'm holding a fart right now. Oh, you don't have to, let it go. I fart up here all the time. Please don't hold it on my behalf. myelgia at this point I was getting so fucking pissed. Oh man, I love that summertime is just a game of screams in your neighborhood. My neighborhood is so yelly. So fucking yelly.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I can't decide if I would take yellie over 11 p.m. motorcycle races, which is what my neighborhood gets. Were we just talking about kids riding minibikes? Well, they're doing it on my block now, so take that too. So Natalie takes a pill and I think she took... What the fuck was that? I only assume it was to say she's a hysterical woman. It's the only thing I could think of.
Starting point is 00:15:42 It has no bearing on anything at any point in this film. It's literally just to show that she she she she she she she she she she she she that she that she that she that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might that she might thing I could think of. It has no bearing on anything at any point in this film. It's literally just a show that she might be unwell. Yeah. But she doesn't do anything unwell except be stupid and that's not unwell, that's just stupid. But like, Chris is just like, oh did you see someone in the grass? Oh, that it hurts her credibility. Yes, exactly. I see. Because she's a woman who may or may not have mental issues. I'm a woman who has mental issues and I'm very credible. And I also don't dry swallow pills. Because I just find it disgusting.
Starting point is 00:16:15 You're not a monster. I'm not. Also, heavy burlap. Have you burlap. Haven't we talked about this before? Love burlap. I don't think I'd like it on my face for that long. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. So there's a mailbox in the corn. There's a car in the corn.
Starting point is 00:16:31 The corn is sentient and has taken over or something, I don't know. Sure. That's not going to come back up. Don't to plant it. I assume it was that house where Alex and Corey and Dad lived. Corn doesn't just spread. You have to plant it. No, it'll spread. No, it doesn't. Sure. Yeah, yeah, that's why Monsanto has corn that won't spread.
Starting point is 00:16:57 Look, I saw the film Field of Dreams. Look, I saw the film field of dreams. you theat the film, and it will not come in. This is literally everything I know about corn is from Field of Dreams. I'm pretty sure it would spread. Yeah, because corn is seeds. So when that corn falls down, well when crows poop that corn that you're eating. Yeah, when that's what I'm saying. Well, when thrown, that's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:17:14 They're saunt. No, a farmer probably planted that corn the tree eating. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. You have to plant it. With a crows butt. Look, I don't know shit about agriculture. I live here. Someone's outside yelling about fibromyalgia. That's what I know about. Well, the medical industry did replace the steel industry in Pittsburgh. It makes sense. So nobody even
Starting point is 00:17:46 tries to call Johnny. They don't even bother doing them our cell phones don't work thing. It's the year 2011. At least have a no reception scene. They do. No they don't. They do. I will not believe anything you say. I know that my laughter makes me uncredible. But... Well it's because you you're hysterical I do take pills for my brain but same girl same there's there's one quick scene where Scott is standing around with his cell phone and baby boy walks up to him and it's like nothing still and Scott's like no I have no memory and that's the end of it okay yeah I just didn't think they even did it yeah I thought they were just like, let's not even do like, let's not even have this pretense that we have cell phones. I found it. I just, I caught it in between bites and my swarm. I got it. So.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Also the thing with a genesis, uh, verse four, chapter four, verse 11 or whatever that's written. the sign the sign in a the sign in a the sign in a sign in a sign in a sign in a sign in a sign in a sign in a sign in a sign in a sign that's a sign that's a sign that's a sign that's a sign that 11 or whatever that's written in a sign never comes back up. I didn't look up what that is. No neither did I'm not gonna. Let's just assume it's Jesus wept. It's probably. I don't think this I don't think that early. I mean the season the sequel. You mean is are you referring to the New Testament as the sequel? Back in the heaven. Okay. Oh, so they, um, so, so baby boy and a nerd run to this house that they see because they assume Johnny's there. Why Johnny would go there himself makes not a lick of sense.
Starting point is 00:19:20 That's how Johnny is. He's not going to try and wake how Johnny is. He was looking for a phone. He's not going to try and wake his friends up. He's going to be like all my friends are unconscious. Well, yeah. And a light turns on in the house as they're approaching it. Right, because someone's paying an electric bill there, which also makes no sense to me. I guess maybe they have a generator, it's it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's thi, it's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, thi, to be, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to be to be to be to be thi, to be to be thi, to be like, to thi, to to to thr-a. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be like 40 miles. I don't know. I don't know. Anyway, so baby girl finds a scarecrow body? With teeth.
Starting point is 00:19:51 With teeth? With teeth? With teeth. First of all, I don't think I'd poke at that. Especially since everyone who gets near one goes, ooh, it stinks. Ooh, it stinks. And Creed guy doesn't even look. Like okay, don't even bother. Stand back there with arms wide open. Yeah. I know. Hall, it just looked to me like, you get that one? You catch that? He's that?
Starting point is 00:20:16 Uh. So inside the house, uh, baby boy and nerd find Johnny sitting at the sewing machine. Yeah. There's something very suitably spooky about an old-timey sewing machine. For sure. And I appreciated that. And he has sort of like a zombie look on his face, and he has nails through each of his fingers. Yeah. You didn't like that? I did, but like once we learn why this is happening, it's like, well, is it just him weaponizing their
Starting point is 00:20:50 hands? I think so. Okay. Which I actually kind of like, yeah. But I really do like the idea of this like malevolent spirit that's very utilitarian, like it's good like that like farmer's working like, like, totally where he's like all right you got to make your own masks you could have to make your own hand weapons I love when they make their own masks and then they hold them up and I it's is there like a superhero thing about like that's when I decided to put on the mask yeah that's what I kept thinking it's very bad man so they're they don't tou to tou th th th so th so th so th so th so th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th that that that that. that. that. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're their their their their thin thi to to thi to to thi too to too to too to too to to thi thi thi to thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi this mask for a super long time. And he's super bloody and fucked up.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Yeah, they don't touc to him, they just look at him, which is crazy because we're like eight minutes into the movie at this point and all the stuff has happened and then they're just gonna just watch this for about, I don't know, four to five. Sure. And then Johnny falls down flat and light goes out in the room they're in. I did not understand when the light going on and off meant something. So we find out later in the movie that the spirit can only be in one scarecrow at a time. And the spirit is generating that light bulb.
Starting point is 00:21:59 So when he's gone somewhere else, the light goes out. Got it. Just like the light kind of went out in Johnny's eyes. But when they figure that out, hadn't there been two scarecrows attacking Creed guy in the previous scene? So that was when I figured out what was going on because the one on the windshield would fall down when the one behind him was attacking and they would reverse. I was pretty high when I watched this. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thu, thu, thu, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. So, th. So, th. So, th, th, th. So, th. So, th. So, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi. So, thi, thi, thi, reverse. I was pretty high when I watched this. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:26 I mean, I was full of schwarma, so. Well, you're sharper than me. I'm just full of farts. Um, so, but he, so when Johnny falls in the mythology of this movie, it's because the scarecrow spirit is now in the one that's attacking Natalie. I like that. Yeah, yeah, so that that that that th. Yeah, th th th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th th th th th th th tho, tho, tho, thi thi, thi, thi, thi, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. I's, thi. I'm, thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. Yeah, that's attacking Natalie. Okay, I like that. I thought that was a really interesting mechanic for this. Yeah. And a lot of her acting is just placing her palms astride her temples so I'm happy to see her go.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. palms to hold the American exit inside of her head. Nooo! So she's been taken and Chris tried to grab her. He doesn't though that's the problem. He doesn't try hard enough. Yeah because Brian's not, I'm sorry, Baby Boy. Baby Boy is not happy enough with him because of what he's done. So Baby Boy who is just wild about baby girl runs back into the cornfield and there's a really great eerie aerial shot of the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi th. thri. thri's thri's th. th. th. th. try try try try t t t try try try try try try try try try try to to try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try try to try to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to try the cornfield. And there's a really great eerie aerial shot of the nerd like standing alone in the yard of the house
Starting point is 00:23:30 surrounded by cornfields as the sun is going down. I thought wow that's really artful. I like that. It's tactful. Yeah. I mean that was one of my first thoughts of like watching this was like in 2010 at least it's gonna look good. Yeah. Like movies just look good now by default. Well, I remind you of Scarecrow 2013. A TV film, but still. Sci-fi channel movies by the account.
Starting point is 00:23:55 That looked real bad. No, but the Scarecrow was like, blah, blah, I mean, it was real smoky, I think, yeah. Oh, man, that was bad. Remember he like crawled out of that guy or crawled into that guy or something? Oh, it was butthull. Yeah. It went up the guy's butthole. I'm so sorry about that one. It's fine. So, um. It's not even the worst movie we've done. No, it certainly isn't. Thanks the item. Is that the one. the one. the one. the one. the one. the one. the one. the the the the one. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It. Yeah. one I didn't finish? Yeah, good. So, uh, baby boy founds baby girl all strung up and dead. And he just like, nuzzles or tits one last time? Which I thought was like, come on. You gotta get one last in there, right? I mean, two great tits. But it just felt a little disrespectful. A little, I think he was just sad and grabbing for whatever he could. And she was just, what, 80% tits. I like the thing of the scarecrow's like roping
Starting point is 00:24:52 people up by their feet. I did too. I felt it like kind of defeated the purpose because they're gonna need the person to be up the other way when they have turned them in to scarecrows but whatever. I think it had to do with the pig. the pig. the pig. I was their. I was. I was. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. I was their. I was like. th. th. I'm. I'm. I'm. they have turned them into scarecrows, but whatever. I think it had to do with the pig, the pig flashback, how it's being strung up by its feet. Yeah. Oh, that's right, because he's bleeding them out while they're up there. Yeah. Wow. This film is a lot of like splitting up, not running after your friend, just running off wildly. Infuriating your dungeon master. I feel like if I was in one of these situations, I would literally like tether myself to another person. We're doing a three-legged race through this corn. Yeah, it's so weird. Um, so Natalie's eyes get the glassy vibe to them and that denotes that the spirit is in her?
Starting point is 00:25:44 Okay. But then Brian just carries her for a while. Yeah, the spirit is in her. Okay. But then Brian just carries her for a while. Yeah, the spirit doesn't kick his way off or anything. Or use, I guess he doesn't have blade hands yet. Yeah. Because we've seen the scarecrow being very quick with the blades. Yeah, yeah. Oh, that's a good typo.
Starting point is 00:25:58 What'd you say? I'm meant to say another one cut Brian and said I said another one cute Brian. Oh cute baby Brian. Yeah so there's just like this barely visible menacing scarecrow in the corn on the edge of the field and it's very good. I think scarecrows are a great bad guy and I don't know why we don't see more of them in film. Because they're kind of a one-note bad guy. Yes so it's like a lot of bad guys. And also not a lot of people live near scarecrows. That's even scarier for me because I feel like if you're used to them then they're not scary. It's true. It's true. Like cornfields are fucking terrifying to me. I was a city person. I grew up playing in cornfields. What the fuck for? Because they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f th. th. th. th. th. thorin tho the thi thoom. thoom. thoom. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thoes thoes tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho tho the the the the house. What did they just spread over there? No, there was a...
Starting point is 00:26:45 Did someone plant them? There was a farm behind my house. Just joking. We used to play a game where me and my friend Paul would run at tough speed and dive through the corn. Do you all cut up? Oh yeah, you had to wear like full body coverings. Yeah. It's just like scarecrows are such a weird like Halloween costume thing. Yeah. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th th. th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're their their their their their their the weird like Halloween costume thing. Yeah, but they're not the bad guys in that many movies Despite that I've not been able to find the one that I like but No, I mean there's probably what ten movies that are scarecrow-based. Yeah, but how many draculas are there? Well, I mean draculas a little scary and a lot sex here. Nobody wants to fuck a scarecrow. Don't you say nobody? How do you know that? Nobody I've met wants to fuck a scarecrow. I think scarecrows are scarier than zombies.
Starting point is 00:27:33 At this point, for sure. And there are billion zombie movies. Scaregrows can do anything. If you make them run, everybody gets mad. I. I immediately thought of scarecrow accountant. The scarecrows can do anything. Scarecrows can go to that Sally Struther's school and make more money. That's a joke for the old people. Do you want to learn computer repair?
Starting point is 00:28:00 Secretarial skills. Taxidermy. Do you like how there were plants that were still alive in that house? Somebody was watering them. Scarecrows? Yeah. Okay. He love taking good. They love tending fields. I mean fine. It was so weird. In the house we see the photos of three men. I guess mom just doesn't get a photo. Mom didn't seem to exist. I think they spawned from the mad dad. That's just like a fucking Zeus that pops babies out of himself. Yeah, he fucked a swan or something. And here's Alex and Corey. Corey. And these, I love that the three people look like the most
Starting point is 00:28:39 non-related human beings that have ever existed. Absolutely. And none of them were giving me farmer vibes. No, those haircuts were not their the the fu the fu the fu the fu the fu the fu the fu. the fu. the fu. the fu. Yeah. the fu the fu. Yeah. Yeah, the fu. Absolutely. And none of them were giving me farmer vibes. No, those haircuts were not farmer haircuts. No, and not farmers of a long time ago hair cuts. No, definitely not. Well, was it a long time ago? I think it's supposed to be like the 50s or something judging by the car that was out in front. I didn't know if that was there. Okay, yeah. No, I guess that car had gotten smashed up. So then that means that he had to have been doing this prior to that. Okay, all right. Yeah. Yeah. They were supposed to be old timing, I think. I mean, I didn't really get that because they had very modern haircuts, but okay.
Starting point is 00:29:14 All right. Well, it's one of the few failings with the sewing Creed and they don't tell him about the weird thing they saw with the sewing machine and their friend. There's just no time. There are so many points in this movie where someone brings something up later and they're like, why didn't you tell me that? And it's like, really, why didn't you? Well, I just didn't, I mean, I didn't know if you ther. I'm thrown. to to to to to to to to the to to to the to the to the to the to the the to to to the the the to the to told, told, told, told, told, told, told, told, the the the told, told, to me to me to me to me to me the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to the to to to to th. th. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. toda. today. today. today, today, today, today. th I just, like, saw the guy we were looking for, uh, he was a zombie and had nails for his fingers and was using an old-time he's sewing machine, and I am sure he doesn't know how to sew. May or may not be your brother, well, I'm not sure of the relation to anybody to anybody in this movie.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Oh, maybe there are some. argument about leaving baby girl behind. No one brings up Johnny. It's so sad. Yeah. And they're also willing to leave Chris behind. Well, he's not that great. It's true. But if I'm that nerdy guy, I'm not exactly sure which of those two I'm throwing my hat in with. Okay. Yeah. I mean I'm gonna go, I'd probably go with the guy who like swears that he won't leave me behind. All right. But he's wild. He's a wild. Oh yeah, he's unpredictable. Beautiful eyes though.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Yeah. Beautiful eyelashes for sure. Really, really long. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Apparently I have an eye fixation. It's coming up a lot lately.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Yeah, you're getting a bone dog for it. Please don't laugh. Sorry. Take this seriously. I apologize our comedy podcast. There's a scene where a scarecrow is up on the pole post, I guess, and just kind of like slowly turns its head to watch them op. I thought that was really beautiful. Yeah. Just enough that you're like, did it turn its head?
Starting point is 00:31:05 I rewound it. Yeah. There's some effective creepery in this movie for sure. I think there's some inventiveness, yeah. I do love Creed Guy's willingness to hold a zip ne to a bunch of old dry papers too. Sure. It seems really fucking wise. What was the last time you saw somebody with a zip? Oh, I'm sure. Are the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the last the the the last. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they., right? Where do you even buy it? Do they still make them? Oh, I'm sure. Aren't they from here? Didn't they get invented here? I don't know. I don't know that either.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Speaking of from here, RIP, Charles Groden was from here? Yeah, it was a Pittsburgh guy. He's the doctor. Yeah. I always think of him in, um, oh fuck, what's that movie where Martin Short plays like a 12-year-old boy? Clifford. Yes. I was think of Charles Grodin just losing his fucking mind in that movie and how delightful he is. I was thinking of Clifford and I was like, no, that's the big red dog.
Starting point is 00:31:59 He's in Beethoven. Wait, is Charles Grodin and Beethoven? He's in Beethoven. All right. All right. He just did, uh, he did deadpan funny, Mary. Really did. You like to watch things happen to him. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:16 For sure. Yeah, R. I'm sorry to hear that. But, so we can't.. I can't believe you're still working on that Bud Light. It's so warm. You still drinking yours? Can I stop? Okay, I didn't want to. Starting point is 00:32:45 No, why would you do that? He's like tea at this point. It's just yellow and lime at this point. Oh, yeah, my tongue's getting so fuzzy from all the warmth. But it is appropriate, I mean, it's a corn beer for this corny movie? like you're gonna have to drink plant-based beers once Joe Biden, he did. He was like Joe Biden's taking away your red meat, that whole like brief scandal. He's like, what are you gonna drink plant-based beers? And it's like, sir? Are you drinking meat beers? Because I would, I would. Lucy asked me the other day if she could have a steak
Starting point is 00:33:21 milkshake and I was like, how fucking dare you? What are you talking about? We get the scene where a crowlands cacalls at Scott and all the sudden he is thrown into the memories of this family. I fucking hate people having memories of things they weren't there for. Why is he psychically connected to anyone including the bird and why is the bird
Starting point is 00:33:59 psychically connected to anyone including this family? I'm going with the mythology that we created earlier that this bird is gone rogue and is giving away the scarecrow man secrets. Okay. I love that there is the is that person trying to get my attention in the shopping market or in the supermarket scene in this where like dad's yelling at Alex and Scott thinks he's yelling at him. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and then he walks right by him. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that that that th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeea. S. S. S. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thinks he's yelling at him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then he walks right by him. I thought that was good. I also like that quick jump scare of the scarecrow was like laying on a table and Scott goes over to look at it and he starts to say, hey, baby boy.
Starting point is 00:34:34 And as he starts to say that, it grabs him, I really liked that. And then it's gone. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. The crows are just like, fuck you, I'm not afraid of these scarecrows. I just thought, wouldn't that be great if you could just like leave your bodies all over the house? We're like, oh, I forgot my fucking glasses in the bedroom. Let me animate the me that's upstairs to run those downstairs to the me that's downstairs.
Starting point is 00:34:58 It is really good. The scare crow sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca sca scarow is not using his power to the fullest ability. He just doesn't seem to care about that kind of thing. He just wants to murder, to make more scarecrows, I guess. So he could, you know, morph around the house more. But once you kill one of them, I don't know. Do they continue to exist? Me? I don't know. Because they were trying to kill like the O.G. Right. Near the end of it, because he's the one with the smiley face. Yes, which is very creepy. It reminded me of Sam from a trick-or-treat. I want to know if the scare or if the crow was giving him visions. I need to know that piece of information. Or is he just a visionary? he Lorraine Warren? Like, what?
Starting point is 00:35:45 I mean, why couldn't he be? Yeah, everybody else is. So everybody in this movie, except for Scott has, and Natalie of course, because she died, has male rage issues where as soon as anything upsets them, they just start smashing everything that's near them. Yeah, kicking things. They're just the boyfriend punching, punching the drywall. Oh my god, I hate it.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Oh, why wouldn't you? It's the worst. But in smashing stuff, Chris finds a set of keys, which I'm thrown. thiiiiii. sees, one of them sees a truck and goes, looks drivable. Yeah. In what way? Because it has a sheet over it, you know, as driving vehicles. I see. That's every time I go into my house,
Starting point is 00:36:29 I just put a sheet over my carola so that everybody knows it's drivable. I put a sheet over anything I want to use later. Yeah, I'm like that. There's like one piece of pizza left left the the to to the to the to the to the to the the to the the the to the the the the to the th and miss a th. reaches for it and you just place a sheet on top of it. No missy. Just slowly pulling up a sheet and saying no. No missy. So now she's upstairs, baby girls upstairs, sewing her own mask. And Brian's so mad. He's so mad. And we see her put the nails through her fingers which I liked. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. And good on whoever is doing the special effects of those fingers, those nails stay on the fingers.
Starting point is 00:37:10 Yeah. Like, and they're symmetrical. They look like they're supposed to be going through the fingers. It does genuinely look great. Yeah. And then she smushes his fingers in a door or a window. Oh, Chris is just is is is th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. C, thus th. And the thus the thus the th. And thoes, thoes, thi's smushed the thoes, their their their their their their the nails the nails the nails the nails the nails the nails the nails the nails the nails, the nails, the nails, the nails, the nails, the nails, the nails, the nails, the nails. the nails. He's been locked in, she locked him in. Right. But she's not like posing any threat to him, even though the spirit is in there. Right. That doesn't quite make sense to me. Is it like the spirit is so task-oriented they have to finish the mask? I think so. They have to put on the mask, yeah. Well that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tha-in mask tha-in mask tha-s the-s the on the is the on the on the on theating the is like like like threatha-like the the the the the the their their the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the threate threate threate threate threats threats toe too too tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooe to on they have time to run away. Yeah, right. Because the scarecrow has to finish its task. Because the scarecrow is doing its sewing project. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That it will hold up and judge
Starting point is 00:37:52 itself later on. Yeah. So yeah that Chris and Baby Boy are arguing where like baby boy is like we have to get everyone out of here meaning Natalie. And Chris is like no we are all of us the the the the the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. thi the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the thi the the the the the the the th. th. th. the the thi the the the the the the the the the the th. And Chris is like, no, we are all of us. Right, the rational thought. Literally no one brings up Johnny. It's so fucked up. He was there, I'm sure of it. Did you say Judy? Judy.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Go, poor Judy. No, yeah. I mean, they've accepted, well, at this point has, no, no. No, no, no, I guess, I th. I th. I th. I th. No, you don't. I love her So we do see the the the we see a flashback or a memory or a crow vision of one of the brother. the brothers. the brother. the brother. the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. the th. the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. the. the. the. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Right. Why does he do that? What was the, what was the disconnect in that family? Because it seemed like the dad was a dick and he preferred one son to the other, right? Yeah, I couldn't figure out why Alex and Corey had beef. Yeah, why did he kill?
Starting point is 00:39:05 Corey was dad's favorite. I don't know. And dad smacked Alex in the face. Seems like you should have would have killed dad. Yeah, why does he not kill dad? Why does he kill his brother? I don't know. Dad was beefier.
Starting point is 00:39:16 It would have been harder to get him up on the scarecrow pole? It was just a pragmatic decision on Alex's part. Alex and Corey. It's too much. Not really like 50s names are they? Or even earlier than 50s. I guess they already blew their load on Johnny and Scott. Yeah, just kept spinning the wheel. Give me more white boy names. At this point, Brian gets a shotgun and suddenly becomes like super shotgun guy.
Starting point is 00:39:45 It's fine. This is where it gets really draggy for me. Oh yeah. Like they're just running around for a while and I don't know. They keep almost escaping. They keep almost escaping, but they can't fully escape because they don't have baby girl. And baby boy won't leave without baby girl. And I don't know like
Starting point is 00:40:08 there's just a lot of scratching with nails. Like baby boy has a wound on his arm and then nerd gets like a big gashing wound to the chest and has there has their I'm so angry right now as they're tending to the wound on his chest, Creed says like, oh dude your arm, it's like that happened half an hour ago. Why are you, this guy's bleeding from the chest. I don't care more, take her, Scott. Honestly. There is a very scary scene at this point though where so Chris hotwires the truck. Uh huh, which they keep showing us that he can't, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, that the. the. thea. thea. thea' thea' thea' thea' thea, thea, that's like, that's like, that he can hotwire a car like we're supposed to be like, oh, what was he done? But he can't because he does not hotwire his own car earlier in the film. But he does hot wire this truck and
Starting point is 00:40:50 starts driving away. I think I would drive slower to make sure I don't hit anything. No, you got to drive real fast at the corner. I mean I get today, though, to be fair. At least 20 birds. I think we're supposed to feel like he, like, oh, he's such a bad guy for doing this, but I believe he's well within his rights. Sure. Yeah. He gave them a chance. The other people he's with have lost their minds. Have lost their minds, and they're making a bad choice, and Or a scarecrow hits him. Regardless, yeah. It also flies into the windshield like the crows do earlier. That's their signature move.
Starting point is 00:41:29 I think my instinct would be to just hit the wipers and see if it would like blow it, like push it off. Yeah, just keep driving. Yeah. I mean, you know you're heading in because it was able to break that glass without an issue? I think scarecrow hands can just do what they want. That's true.
Starting point is 00:41:53 Yeah, unless they have mail hands. Computer repair or plumbing. It's what I'm saying. I knew anything and I just think they're underutilized. Scarecrow is going to be your go-to man in any situation. Scarecrow is a jack of all trades, master of none. Oh man. So... I have a lot of notes about baby. Oh, I bet it's baby.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Baby's here. Ha ha ha you just called her baby. Oh, I bet it's baby. Baby's here. Ha ha ha, you just called her baby. Oh, baby's killing baby, but that's what happens. Because she kills him. He deserves to get his throat ripped out for being such a sucker. Yeah, for sure. And those tips. And there's twosted point it should have been gone. Yeah. It's... They're just...
Starting point is 00:42:48 They're just making a movie about a scarecrow that can be many scarecrows, but not any more than one scarecrow at any one given time. It's true. Can't multitask. So inside, nerd guys like, hey, chess, I do chess. Well, they also found a mummy in the basement at some point. Oh, right, of... Alex. Wait, why is he down there? I think it...
Starting point is 00:43:11 Yeah, uh, because he was hiding from his dad maybe? Or hiding from the scarecrow. Or hiding from everybody? Wasn't he already dead? Who? What now? He was in the basement eating beans as you did in olden times. Which brother got pitchfork to death? Corey. Corey got pitchfork to death? So why? Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:32 So now Alex is hiding in the basement from Corey with a note that says he can't get me down here. Because you write notes to yourself to remind yourself that you can't be gotten down there. But wasn't he the bad guy? Who is the bad guy? th. th. th. th. th. th. He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? He? th. He? He? th. He? th. He? to? to? to? to. He? to. He? th. He? to. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He? to? to? He. He. He? He. He? He. He? He. He. He? He? He. He? He. He. He? He. He? He. He. He? He. He. He? He? He. He. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's to. t. t. t. to. t. t. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to he the bad guy? Who is the bad guy? Well he made a he made a scarecrow demon when he killed his brother as you do because his blood seeped down his shoes into the earth remember and as we know corn is malevolent. Wait the guy the brother who got murdered is the scarecrow demon. Correct. Oh I thought it was the murdering brother. No he a mummy in the basement. Wait. And who who occasionally shows up in visions to make to make to make to make to make to make to make to make to make to make the to the to the to the the the the to the the the the the the the to the the the the the the to the the to the the the the to the the the the the the to the the to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the sca. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the was the murdering brother. No, he a mummy in the basement. Wait. And who occasionally shows up in visions to make Scott walk into the corn. I'm baffled.
Starting point is 00:44:10 It might be the Bud Light Line, but I'm feeling very fuzzy on this. I imagine if it was. I'm supposed to think Chris is a little bit of a wild card because he has a knife and nobody else seems to have a knife with them. Because every time he hot wires the car he pulls out his knife to hot wire the car. And as a knife goes, well of course he has a knife, everybody has knives. So Chris suddenly has a change of heart and is like this can never happen to anyone ever again. Yeah. So like how do you kill the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit the spirit to anyone ever again. So like how do you kill the spirit of a scarecrow? You burn it?
Starting point is 00:44:49 Well they don't though do they? No, they're not very good at it. They spent so much time siphoning gasoline and he's got the zipo he has to get the zipo out from under the sewing machine while someone's sewing. This was driving me insane because the thiii is is is is is think is thozyzytzytipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipipippo was right under the sewing machine for some reason I can't remember what to. And rather than reaching around the back of the, he tries to go under the very tiny leg. And the scarecrow's like, what are you doing? I actually like there was a shot, it's baby boy who's sewing. And he like bumps the machine, it causes the machine to, not clog, what's that
Starting point is 00:45:27 happen when a sewing machine stops working? Let's go with clogs. He clogs the clogs, he gums up the works. And then when he like slowly looks up at baby and baby's just looking down at him. I thought it was a really nice shot. It was like one of those really eerie sho shots. And he says to Baby, Baby Boy, Uh, Baby Boy, if there's any of you left in there, just let me get the zip. Yeah. Baby Boy is like, nobody talked to me while I'm sewing.
Starting point is 00:45:55 And nobody puts Baby in the sewing. He was, but Baby Boy, there's seemingly baby boy is conflicted, because the the the the the the the the the the the the they, they, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, ththere's the scene where the light bulb starts flickering and like baby boy starts doing the hand from the tool video thing where he's like shaking his one hand I have never seen a tool video in my life. What? I hate tool! I shake you real fast hand. Okay got you. Creed says to a nerd, can you keep up? And nerd says, I can die trying. And I thought, wouldn't it be funny if you just like got away from this evil scarecrow spirit and then died from running too much?
Starting point is 00:46:35 Hmm. At one point he's like, it's no use, I'm too nerdy to run. Yeah, seemingly that was his only ailment is that he was a th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. thi. And, thitoo nerdy to run. Yeah seemingly that was his only ailment is that he was a fucking nerd. Yeah he'd been like stabbed in the chest but it was a long time ago and he had been well in between those times. Yeah he's just a nerd now. Just nerds gonna kill you. Nerd's gonna kill you. He had morbid nerdosity it's a thing that kills a lot of us. It's just you get too, it's too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too too to to to to to to to to to to to to the the to to their. their. their. to to their. their. to to to their. their. their their. their. their. their. There's not enough chess and you need to die. Yeah, I don't do running, I do chess. Do we explain the chess thing? We're... Can you explain it to me? So nerd figures out that that the scarecrow can only be in one body at one time. He totally he does, but he guess the th th th th th th the warrants. It's a hypothesis. It's gonna test it out to see if it's a working theory. I'm like what a warren would do. And so he he explains this move in chess where your pawn,
Starting point is 00:47:40 you're going to do something to your pawn. And so you have a pause in the play, you're like pausing your play while your opponent. You're their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their the pawn until you have a pause in the play where you're like pausing your play while your opponent can do a thing while you're like upgrading your pawn somehow. Is that true? I don't know I don't know I don't know about chess. Me either. I've been played it since I was in high school. I have never played it in a movie. I know how all the pieces work, but I'm too much, I just... It's a lot of... If I can't be great at it, I don't want to do it. I'm not willing to learn. Yeah, it takes a little while to get created it, I think.
Starting point is 00:48:11 Yeah, I think a little bit. You have to practice a little bit. Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, a little bit. guy and he's like, oh we have to Chris and he's like we have the amount of time that the lights on while they're making the mask so baby boy's gonna make the mask yeah we're gonna do the Bernie Downies okay yeah bullet getting montage gas siphoning montage and it seems like it could work except they never actually laid it on fire because one of them has the lighter and the other has
Starting point is 00:48:41 the gas and they split up, I think. Okay. Because they're running together and the scarecrows are able to chase them and the nerds like, well we need to split up so you could only chase one of us. And he says it's no use. I'm too nerdy to run. So it might as well kill me. Yeah, doesn't it? thrown. thrown. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. the the the the. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. the. he's the nerd is the only one who makes it to the edge of the cornfield. Right, Chris has been pulling all the scarecrow's masks off and then acting shocked that it's a face of his dead friend underneath. I think he was waiting for it to be him. Why do I even know this is, I think this might be about factory farming? What? Is it? Is it? I don't think it is. I don't think it is. I don't think it is. I don't think it is. I definitely think this is one of the movies where there's no deeper going on.
Starting point is 00:49:33 No I don't think so. I sure believed it did when I wrote that note though. Okay. Yep. Yep. Yep. I have the note to Scott have asked what or is he just a nerd? I don't know, but it's too hard for him. So Chris gets impaled on a fence. That is nice. The impaling is nice, yeah. Except he keeps going mm-hmm. There's a lot of whimpering. He does a lot of movement while impaled too. I don't think you can once there's a thing through your tackled by baby boy at that point. Right. Because as we know, track team. Mad tackling on track. They do a lot of trackling, trackling drills. Tracling drills. And we're done. So they, uh, he gets, Chris gets strung up.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Scott gets knocked out. I keep wanting to call him Scoots. Call him Scoots then, who cares? Scoots gets knocked out, wakes up and he's underneath the scarecrow that is going to be Chris who's being blood out. Right. He stabs the O.G. Scarecrow, because we do that from the Smiley face with the pitchfork Because he remembers his flashback. It grabs the pitchfork. Yeah, and so he thinks he's murdered that scarecrow
Starting point is 00:50:51 But uh-uh the scarecrow gets up and stabs him again. Yeah, and then somehow he gets away from it. Yeah, despite being asthmatic and nerdy Yeah, and ends up just on the edge of the cornfield as a truck truck truck truck truck truck truck true true the true the the true the true the the truc. the the the the the truc. the the the truc. the the the th. th. thi thi the thi thi to thi to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi the the the the te te tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. thea. thea. thi thi thi thi the th up just on the edge of the cornfield as a truck pulls up to their truck. Right. And the scarecrow comes out of the woods, looks at him and lays down next to him? Yeah, it was like right where he had been found by Baby Girl. Right, right. But that didn't actually amount to anything because Baby Girl and he did not get her. No, he just showed her his teeth. Yeah. So, and Scott's trying to yell at the people who are like looking at the wrecked car. But his nerdy
Starting point is 00:51:30 assmatic body won't love him. He's like, ooh, just wheezing, yeah. And credits. Yeah. Bit of a nuclear ending. I like that. Mm-hmm. Like when the bad guy wins. Or somebody. Yeah. Katie. Yeah. Want to go the ratings piece? I'm sorry, what now? Want to go first?
Starting point is 00:51:52 Sure. You want to go first? Sure. Okay. I didn't hate this movie. Me either. I wasn't mad at it. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:52:01 I think the other scare crew movie had set the bar so goddame low. So low. I'll get this a four. That's not the rating you give to a movie you didn't hate, but okay. It's better than this movie deserves. It is better than this movie deserves mostly when I had a fun time watching it. Yeah. And I really thought a lot of it was like thoughtful. Yeah. And I mean there are some very good scares in this movie. Oh for sure. I. I. I. I. But we can't nail them down them are as gregarious as the two of us. True. And I do like that when we keep bringing it up to them, every time we bring it up to them, they're like, hey, hey, we'll do this? And they're like, hey, hey, we'll do this? And they're like, yeah, all right. Or Missy goes, did agree to that? Did she agree to it? She did.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Yeah. Can you do your dot-nots real quick? I can't pull it right now. And I don't want to do it to service. No, it's fair. I just want to do bug eyes and shake my head.
