Somehow I had never heard of this movie, which is fucking shocking to me. Yeah, it's right up your alley. It's up my alley, it stars actors that I really like. I love folk horror. Totally. Yes, and then I saw this movie. I think you had a much more negative reaction to this film than I did. I may have. Let's talk about it.

Yeah, he's so jolly and he's really trying to glower and you can

see the effort. He's like, oh man I'm beautiful, what am I doing? What am I doing right now? Beautiful people should not suffer like this. No. No. Like that opening boat scene in the storm is fucking terrible. He should not have to suffer that. He's too good looking. My first note about this movie is, wow, those were some loud-ass credits. Were they? They were like just the super screechy noise. I guess the opening scene is actually him coming home.

Yeah, and his father yelling at him, or telling him that he has to get his sister back. I guess he wasn't yelling, I was putting that on that. You're just projecting, where do you think that comes from? Do I have to give you $130 at the end of this? I mean, I'll build your insurance. Yeah, and he's real dirty when we first made him, he was a dirty, he's a dirty, hehe. So we, there's a letter that's been received by his father saying that the daughter, his sister, Dan Stephen's sister, what is his name, Thomas? Yep. That Thomas's sister has been kidnapped by a cult and that they're ransoming her. Yes, Jennifer. Why does he not just go and give him the money? I don't understand the plot of this movie. His father says, don't give them the money unless you have to. That's what ransom is.

You have to. Otherwise it doesn't work. Also, this is just Rowan is missing. Please come to some rile. And they're like, hey, I'm on my way. Or Rowan is missing, please come punch these women if you're Nick Cage. I forgot he punched all those women. He punched so many women. He kicks Lili So Bieski into a shell full of glass jars.

So there's this boat, it's him and a bunch of other people who are like, I've never seen you at Prayer Circle. And you're like, oh, this is interesting. He pulls a switcheroo with an old man and trades his like invitation with this old man's invitation to the island. Right. That was an intervention. do that. So I like, though he got that old man murdered by switching the invitation, I wasn't even that sorry to see the old man die because he's a hypocrite. It's so King Kong when they show up. It's super King Kong, which is interesting because we're meant to believe that it's not producing crops. So they're not being very welcoming as far as religious cults go. Yeah, yeah, it's real weird. Do you think, here's the thing about cults. They need you more than you need them. For sure. So they should try to get you in. But they're also psychopaths or sociopaths.

I have no idea that I hope so. She says you're the god now dog. Oh, okay. He becomes, he becomes the god at the end of the movie. Spoiler alert for this episode. Uh, okay. Okay. Well, I think part of the problem is that it's trying to weave together maybe four different plots. Yeah. And that's one of the reasons this movie is way too long.

But it doesn't, none of them are like really resolved to a satisfactory end, except the teen pregnancy, for sure. is not a satisfying end, but at least it's ended, you know. Putting the sad and satisfying. Definitely. Did you open this movie and Netflix to see the time and go, mother fucker! I 100% did because when I picked it it, I thought, well, it's a Netflix movie. It'll be like hard, ain't a heart out by, you know. No, 2.10. No, after the first half hour is like, oh, this should have been a TV show. It would have been a great TV show, I think there's so much that he's trying to cram into this movie. And I think I would have really liked these characters to have been more fleshed out as a TV show would have done.

I would watch the shit out of this TV show. Yeah, exactly. That's a bummer. That's a missed opportunity. For sure. But here's the thing, babies don't have that much blood. Sure. So like the amount of blood that they're putting out every night is more than a blut than a baby has. I don't know. I've never...
