Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 343- Black Roses (1988)

Episode Date: August 2, 2021

This week, in a shocking twist, we discover that there is a heavy metal horror movie from the year of our lord 1988 that ALLEN HAS NOT SEEN. How can this be? Regardless, we're remedying the situation ...by watching and discussing "Black Roses," available on Shudder. Special topics for your consideration include: shitty 80s moms and dads, really pushing the limits of how old an actor can be and still play a teen, kicking off a worldwide tour with four nights at the Mill Basin High School auditorium, a question not of whether there are tits but in fact whose tits they are, and demon nards.  Heavy metal horror: it's a thing! I'm lumping a lot of stuff into this category, so please enjoy Episode 13- "Phantom of the Paradise," Episode 38- "The Gate," Episode 175- "House of 1000 Corpses," Episode 176- "Strangeland,"Episode 199- "Terrorvision," Episode 200- "Trick or Treat," and Episode 242- "A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors." Starting point is 00:00:26 Yeah, I saw him. Where? He was just sitting out on the sidewalk in a folding chair, or possibly a lawn chair talking to his neighbor. Oh, so sweet. Yeah. to say hi to hi. Yeah, I was driving.
Starting point is 00:00:36 I like that we've do say hi to him when I usually see him. Oh, no doubt. Because I say hi to everybody. Yeah, because I can't keep my neighbor. Cannot keep my fucking mouth shut. I love saying hi to people on the street. Yeah. Because even though you're from Philly, or lived in Philly at least. I think I like it because I lived in Philly. Where you had to mean mug everybody, you're to th and thea, you're to th and to th and to to to threath th and threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath threath to to to to keep threaten everybody, I'm to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep threaton, I'm to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep to keep threat threat threath threath threath threath everybody, I threath everybody, I threaten everybody, I threaten, I threaten threaten threaten threaten threaten threaten threaten threaten the threaten threaten the and threaten threaten threaten threaten threaten threaten Kroger. We've Kroger out there? No. What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:01:08 You going super fresh? You going to Acmey? Acmey. Yeah, Acmey. Such a bad name for a grocery store. It's the pinnacle. Is that what Acme means? I just always associated with the company that made all of the devices that runner and Wiley Coyote got involved with.
Starting point is 00:01:26 They make safes that fall on people. Yeah. That would be great if they named their food store after you know what is fucking Loil the Cahood? Is there something like more plausible? They're the pinnacle of shopping. I don't believe that Acme is the pinnacle of shopping. Just like your Zenith television. Fine. It is not the pinnacle of shopping. I can confirm from the South Philadelphia Acme that it is
Starting point is 00:01:56 not the pinnacle. Fair. Anyway we're going to talk about a movie this week. Yeah, speaking of being inhabited by demons and turning on your neighbors Speaking of doing the 1988 Very Canadian horror movie black roses holy ghost So how had you never seen this movie because it has you it's like literally has you tattooed on its ass I wrote the movie yes your brain this is straight from it How this soon as this movie started and people started talking, I went, man, I fucking love 80s Canadian horror movies. I adore them.
Starting point is 00:02:32 I love 80s Canadian horror movie that we've done. I can't think of a bad 80s Canadian horror movie that we've done. Silent Night Deadly, wasn't that Canadian? Uh, I don't think. I th th that's thi I thi I thi that's that's thi thi thi thi that's thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th th. I think that's just Midwestern. Okay. Because your girl in a Quigley's in that. That's true. That's true. It's probably just like Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Yeah. But like a prom night? Love prom night. Um, fucking my bloody Valentine. Love my bloody Valentine. Yeah, these Canadians are doing it right in the 80s. They sure are. Degrossossossossossossossossossossoss. I I I I the the the the the entire the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I have the entire original run on VHS.
Starting point is 00:03:09 It's about 26 tapes. I don't know what happened to them. Now that I'm thinking about it, I bet Rob threw them away. And I just got super fucking bummed. Including the last iteration of it, which was a movie called Schools Out. Yes. Which drops the F-Bomb. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:30 You are fucking Tessa Campanelli? Tessa Campanelli, you... Would this be Drake in a wheelchair? No, that's the 2000s, yeah. This is the actual 80s one with like the punk rock girl that everybody I knew was infatuated with. Yes. Yes. Who's a mom in the new, in the Next Generation? Oh, that's a good. Wait, it's called Next Generation? The first one, well the first one isn't called Next Generation. The thousand is the one. Yeah, but do they make it so? The punk, but they make it's they make it's, but they make it's, but they make it's, but they make it's, but the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho. I the tho. I tho. I that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that the title of my autobiography except it isn't. I was going to say that's
Starting point is 00:04:06 the story of a lot of my friends' life. Yeah, the title of my autobiography is going to be, oh well, I gave it my best. Mine's going to be, did I do that? I think that's taking. Anyway, this movie. The only film that I know of that stars Carmen of Peace, the drummer guy in this, who, for those who don't know, has a co-writing credit of if you think I'm sexy by Rod Stewart. No shit. Great jam. And I want to say maybe Maggie too, or Maggie. Oh, Maggie is a genuinely good jam, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:52 He also played drums with Ozzy. He was in, like, black and blue, I think, like, metal bands in the 80. He was in King Cobra, which is a band that was on the wall of the kid in Nightmarinell Street 2, who I found in congruous with the rest of the posters on the wall. Right, I do remember that now. But isn't all of this King Cobra? Or am I confused? The whole, like, isn't the vocalist from King Cobra as well?
Starting point is 00:05:17 Yeah, there's like three parts of King Cobra and then two other people are in this. Well, look at you in your King Cobra knowledge. I was just like, wow, they got a real singer. But they didn't, because that guy, well, that guy's an actor. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I figured it wasn't his voice. So you mean, you're talking about my boy Sal Viviano, who has never looked less like a metal guy guy. It looks like Guy Smiley from Sesame Street. The 15 different hairstyles that he has in this movie, this wig game is on flop. When he pulls that wig off at the end of the movie and I think you're supposed to be surprised, I have to tell you I was not.
Starting point is 00:05:55 He has the wig off at different points in the movie. He pulls it off like it's a reveal. Oh my God. So this film, what this film presupposes is that you can start a movie with your demon band turning people into demons in a big city, Toronto I assume. Yes. And then cut to a town where this is the first time this band's playing a gig. Mill Basin. When the movie ended I thought, wait, was this all a flashback? I don't know. Because they were playing four nights at the high school auditorium. And they're like, yeah, we just wanted to like try out the
Starting point is 00:06:38 show before we hit the big, then we're going to hit it big. And it's like, like well one does not compute to the other. Everybody knows how do you get to a Mill Basin High School? How do you get there? Yeah. I don't know. Practice. It's the classic joke. Once you've gotten there you you made it. Four nights at Mill Basin? Who? Do you would you fucking Dave Matthews band? Go home. That would just be one song though, wouldn't it? Oh, some people are really mad that I just said that. I'm sorry. Don't start with those people again, Gary. I know.
Starting point is 00:07:14 It's honestly, it's just, it's fine. They can't still be that fired up about it. But I think like it might fire up new people and I don't want to do that. The bathroom shit on people on a boat, so... I didn't mean to, technically. It's not like they shit in their hands and threw it like fucking monkeys. I recently heard someone describe that as the event were Dave Matthews diaried on a bunch of people, and I was like, you missed a couple steps. He wasn't just drop a droll hanging his ass out the window. Oh, Dave Matthews probably wouldn't do that.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Probably not a monster. I love that Carmen Apiece is one of the three people who have links in their bios on Wikipedia. Oh, that are in this movie. I assume the other, one of the other ones is the guy from the Sopranos. Yes, big pussy pussy if you will. I have not seen the soprano's. His name is big pussy and the soprano. I thought maybe you were just saying that to me but okay. Oh big pussy? And who is the third? Julie Adams. Oh sure. From Creature from the Black Clean and yes. Yes. My first note just says, ugh, trauma. I love that jaunty troma intro though. It really gets me every time. It just like puts a smile on my face for its stupidity. I love how shitty it is. It's super shitty and all of it's not it doesn't make sense for the movie that's to come. I think I'm still just
Starting point is 00:08:36 ug trauma-ing from that Confederate Catabals movie. Oh man I'm probably have to watch that again at some point in my life, you know. You know there's no escaping it. Hey, Han, I'm sure as Rob calls you, I have a, I picked out a movie for us tonight that combines our two loves. Help. So we see this band playing a show, and the song is going, Me Against the World! Me against the world! And that's the metal song.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Oh man, I love that song. I said yes, this band rules. I love that they're already demons when we first meet them. We see them, no, we see them as people first, don't we? No, they're demons. They're already lumpy. Yeah, they're lumpy with like real clappy muppet jaws. Yes, I like I like that. I do too. Yeah, and like some guy shows up and was like, we're shutting the showdown, I've got the cops, what are you crazy? It's like, why is there a court order to shut it down? It seemed like the tea? It's like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, th, th, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, and it, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I like, I like, I, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I like, I, I like, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, I th. Yeah, and, and, and, and, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, and, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, and, and, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, and, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, like, and it, like, and it, I th. Yeahking off because he's like, what? Yes, what was he doing there? Just watching the Satan.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Just watching the Satan. Maybe he was the teacher in the next town. Maybe or in the previous town. Who knows where this is in the timeline of black roses? Who can say? Because they hit it really big after Mill Basin. They could be anywhere. They must have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have have it big th th th the th th. the th. the the th. th. th. the their their. the. the. the. their. the. the. tho. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. their. their. their. the. the. together. together. together. together. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea.....a... tethey rented two Lamborghinis to come into town. Those 80s sports cars driving the title car down the street is so fucking funny to me.
Starting point is 00:10:17 In like graffiti font? It's so good. It's so good. What says roses? How about a bunch of fucking vines? You got it, don't rose vines? Rose vines? Rose fines? Nailed it.
Starting point is 00:10:31 So the premise of this film is that your mom's a bitch and your dad's a pervert. It's the 1980s, right? Because all moms are bitches and all dads are perverts. And you are an asshole in waiting. Yes, and you're also a 37-year-old man if you're today. Oh my god. This is the oldest high school student we've ever seen, right? I'm guessing 43.
Starting point is 00:10:54 You think? Yeah. He was combing his hair forward to hide his receding hair line. He's like, he pops it's me, I'm going to high. . the high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high high the high. the high. the the the the the to high. the the to hi. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to. to. the. to. to. the. to. to. to. the. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th the factory. Hey, Bob's, it's me. We went to high school together. He's like hitting on Julie, who looks like a young woman. And you're like, get the fuck away from her. She's got another half-ass Tom Selik that she's trying to bone. Yeah. I thought he was very attractive.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Sure. Sure. Sure. . He fits your model, you know, he fits your mood. Weird, Dad. I have a no-dier that says, this kid's teacher should talk to him like a peer because he is. He's saying all this like, this like, angsty teenage stuff like, adults think they could call all the shots just because they're grown-ups. You're like, seriously, shut the fuck up. How did he get the, shud, the fucking, the fucking, thion, thion, thion, thion, thion, thion, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thatat, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, th. He, thi. He, thi. He thi. He's, thi. He's, thi. thi. that, that, that, that, that, that, teat, that, thi. that, thi. thi. thi. How did he get the fucking gig to do this?
Starting point is 00:11:47 I think he auditioned as the teacher, and they were like, no, we've got Stash over here, but. We've got Canadian Tom Ackons to come here and take care of this. How dare you? They were like, put on this gene jacket. No, you're a teen. The women are putting up the posters in town for the Lamborghini ladies that come out in their long red trench coats or whatever. And they're putting up these posters that are just, I'm sorry, his name again,
Starting point is 00:12:20 Sal Viviano's headshot with Damien Live written on them and black roses around it in a border. Yeah, weird. When we advertised the Maxipads, we didn't say it was the Kaysen show. You know? Very strange. I mean, there's four other people in that band. Sure. Yeah, but other than Carmen Apice. They got a cool lady bass player. Shit, she's so funny. She's just wearing a mini skirt and standing. That's her job.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Yeah, I've got the bass. I have to, I have to point this out. This is for literally no one, except for me and probably Mike. Hi Mike. Hello, Mike. So Carmen Apiece's name in this is Vinny Apache. Okay. This is full character's name. Never said in the movie. I don't know why he has a name.
Starting point is 00:13:12 His brother is named Vinny Apiece. Okay. But pronounces it, Apche. So I think his character's name is making fun of the way his brother says their collective last name. That's really fucking funny. Wait, how is it spelled? A-P-P-I-C-E. A-P-P-P-P-P-Peece? Peechie is right. Yeah, right. Yeah, he's, this guy, uh, who is our hero? Carmen apiece has Americanized it. Yes. Now,
Starting point is 00:13:45 we'll go fuck yourself then. That's all. But I do like that joke though. Vinnie Apache. Come on. I like that he's like, fuck you for saying it correctly. I'm gonna make fun of you in this movie that literally no one's gonna ever see. Yep. And it with a character's name that no one will ever say. But I should, this movie was heavily advertised in heavy metal magazines when I was a kid. Really? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like I remember like Metal Edge or circus magazine had ads for this movie because it's got like a beautiful cover of like or poster art of like sort of like a lady's eyes with a guitar in front of it and rose vines all around it.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Again, the vibe. Yes. That's crazy you never saw it. No. How? I never, I think because I saw that and was like, oh, it's probably like some sissy stuff stuff. Oh, I'll watch that. I mean, it is kind of some sissy stuff though. In a pre-internet world you thought you could just keep
Starting point is 00:14:50 bad influences from your kids by proximity. Yeah. That's pretty great. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Kiddie can we talk about Walt Whitman and evil? I guess so. What do you think he's trying to... Oh boy. No high school kid wants to talk about Walt Whitman. Those kids are pretty enthusiastic about it though because their teacher's so handsome I guess and he's just like one of the guys. Sure, he's a peer. Everybody, every teen loves sitting in quorum. You just love just getting your chairs out in quorum. Uh-huh. Is what this teacher wants us to believe? They love it.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Quorum, I said quorum. Are you sure he's not saying quorum? Oh, I thought he was saying quorum. But maybe he's like you have to have one more than half or whatever. It doesn't matter. Regardless. Yeah, they're having a high school English class where everyone's just like super stoked to pull apart Whitman. My kids can have to read leaves of grass. Did you have to read
Starting point is 00:15:57 leaves of grass? I didn't have to read leaves of grass. I didn't have to read leaves of grass. I didn't have to read it on my own when I was older. Because again, stupid as a teenager? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? Yeah? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I, I, I? Yeah? I, I? I, I? I, I? Yeah? I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'd the the they, I'd they, I'd have their, I'd have they're, I'd have their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they, they? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I? I'd their? I'd th, I'd th, I'd th, I'd th, I'd they're th, I'd they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're hed. I'd have to but I read it on my own when I was older. Because I had to catch up with everybody else. Because again, stupid as a teenager. Oh, I mean we're all stupid. I was smarter as a teenager than I am now, I think. I've hit my head a lot of times since then. Shit. I will say that Johnny is the 43 year old in class is really good at bullshitting answers to these questions. Well yeah, he's had a long time to do it. He's been in high school for 32 years. It's a lot of life experience to bring to this class.
Starting point is 00:16:37 I don't know how he has time to, he must be working night shifts at the factory. Oh, I only refer to the teacher exclusively as teachachach teach teach teach teach teach teach, the teacher the teacher the teacher to the to to to the to to the to to to the to to the to to the the to to the to to to the to to to to to to the teacher exclusively as teach. Teach? I refer to him as Mr. Morehouse because that's respectful. So we get to like a town meeting, a community meeting about this concert, this four-day event that's happening in the school auditorium. With one band. No openers.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Nope. It's seemingly, they don't have enough material for four nights three songs yeah you've got Paradise which I hate warriors of the night and then Lizzie Bordons me against the world yeah not even original no it's a cover cover it's a cover yes and and this is where we... And not a good song anyway. That's all I want to say. That's all I want to say. It is at best third-tier heavy metal for me. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I did have that album. Just put it out there. Of course you did. This would be the heyday of me, love and heavy metal of that era. I don't think you should be. I'm just defending defending defending defending defending the against the against the against the against tha against tha against against against against against against against't think you should be you're 14 defending myself against everything in the world it's you against the world carry on me against the world I'm sorry the backing vocals are what do it for me it's got a good sing-along chorus
Starting point is 00:18:00 so this is where we see Julie Adams of great from the Black Lagoon fame yes is playing a quois the the the the the the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the world. the the world. the world. the world. the world. the world. the the world. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the Adams of a Creature from the Black Lagoon fan. Yes. Is playing a quasi-religious grandmother who's upset about everything and doesn't want kids to have fun? Yeah. Is it the last rece of her? Yes. I want it done. Little cameo. What is, so this song has great lyrics about like, like destroying the modern family or whatever your family unit? No, we won't destroy our happy homes. And I was like, well, why don't they sing that song? Why don't we get that song?
Starting point is 00:18:37 I would have like to have heard it. They're like talking about, the mayor says basically there's nothing he can do. The school board has approved this, which, okay. No, no, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, no, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th... the th. th. the. the the. the. the the. the the. the the there's nothing he can do. The school board has approved this. Yeah. Which, okay. No, like, delving into why the school board approved that, but, okay. I also like the mayor's like, you dumb asses, your parents hated Elvis. Shut up! Remember the Beatles.
Starting point is 00:18:57 He's like, remember when your kid grew his hair out to look like Ringo Star, and I was like, fuck you, no one has ever done anything to be more like Ringo Star ever. Peace and love, peace and love. Get out of here, Ringo. You know it's going to be great because I'm not a huge Beatles fan? No. Is when Ringo is the final surviving beetle. I'm going to love that for them.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Take that Sir Paul McCartney. He's definitely dying first. Don't you think? I'm a hundred percent convinced that each order wakes up every morning. I was like, huh, okay. Right, right? Right, right. Speaking of RIP to Dusty Hill from ZZ Top. Yes, that's a sad one. Yeah, thattoday. thound. to their today. Yeah, for sure. Fun guys. Fun guys. I listened to Trace Ambrés in their honor yesterday. Aw. Greatest gatefold of all time. Oh my god with the cheese?
Starting point is 00:19:50 Yeah, with the delicious Mexican dinner on the inside of it. It's so beautiful. Because they just like to have fun and who doesn't love fucking their food. fucking fun. I, uh, when Lucy took her first steps or some of her first steps, I caught it on video and then I set it to, she's got legs and she knows how to use them. Someday she'll get it. If you all ever get the chance and have the inclination, watch, there's a documentary about ZZTop, there's talks about their career, and they are exactly not what you think they are. Really? Which I really love about like at like kind of height of their career they just kind of went
Starting point is 00:20:31 off and explored the world. Okay and like there's like there's people like Billy Gibbons is like yeah I went to England and I wanted to check out punk because I wanted to see what this was all about. And like... Oh Bill. Yeah they just do all these like crazy like they're thi like like like like like like like they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're thi. the thi. the the the their their they're they're they're their they're they're they're they're they're they're like. they're like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I'm like. I their. I they're like. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I they're they're the the they. the they. they. the th. the th. th. the th. th. the th. th. the th. the th. the the the the the the th. the the the the the the their. their. they're like. their. they're like. that's adorable. Yeah, they just do all these like crazy, like they're super interested in music, all types of music and like, it's really fascinating. They're fascinating individuals. Well, yeah, RIP. RIP. Dusty. Speaking of playfulness, Johnny is acting like a playful teen by like parcoring around on the street, but he's just a weird old man who looks like he's like worried about his pension. I just can't. But he's just a weird old man who looks like he's like worried about his pension. I just can't He's that fucking dude who is 45 at that college part of that you're at. Yep. And you're like, oh, I don't want to get to a conversation about this guy about why his wife left him.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Oh, no. No, I'll tell you why. Here, look at yourself. Look at yourself, Greg. Thing of love about college freshmen. No, get away from me, Johnny. Why is that paint on fire? Is paint flammable? Oh yeah, for sure. You can set a can of paint on fire? Yeah, if it's oil-based. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Isn't it mostly? Uh-huh. It's on fire because of state. Oh, gotcha. Because we briefly went, the teachers out at a night ramble in this town where nobody else is on the street, but Johnny and Julia? Julie. Julie, because she had to get away from her molesting stepfather. Right, because your mom's a bitch and your dad's a pervert. Yes. Just a a gross thing to add into this. We didn't need it. He's not the only pervert dad. There are several perver dads. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thing to add into this film. We didn't need it. He's not the only pervert dad. There are several perver dads.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Like when Julie shows up at Janie's house and the one dad goes, looking good. Yes. Is it the same dad who hooks up with Tina later? Oh yeah, yeah. Is it the same one? Yeah. Yeah. Oh think so. It's just pervert dads. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:25 The 1980s. Yeah. Oh man, yeah, oh, I'm not a good scene. No, I forgot about that scene. Yeah. So yeah, they're out doing crimes for Satan on the streets. And... But Julie's like, no, Johnny, don't do it.
Starting point is 00:22:42 It's like, just fucking leave, Julie. I'm gonna paint something with this can of pain. Okay. Because I'm a Canadian rebel. And then he is six of them somehow. How? But then he runs away and leaves his Swiss army knife. Right. And Teach finds it, and then across the street we see smoke and the silhouette of a man standing there in a giant wig. Who is Satan, of course. Of course. It goes without saying.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Oh, and then we cut to class the next day and they're talking about Emerson now. Right. And the teacher lets on that he knows that Johnny was a ne'er do well last evening. That's right. A wink and a nudge and a pocket knife returned. And Julie's so sad about this because she loves him so much. Yes, both of them I think she's in love with both of them at this point. I don't think she's in love with Johnny. Are you kidding me? I just really? You think she's a bozo? I think th th th think think to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi the the the thi's thi. th. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. thi. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. their th. their something. I think she thinks he's a bozo Johnny I need to talk to you about last night Whoa
Starting point is 00:23:50 The other 43 year old college kid is freak care high school gets freaking out Yeah when he's like with a one kid in that class like mr. Morehouse my mother love my father because he was afraid to take a chance on anything. I'm not gonna let that happen to me all without looking at like the camera or Mr. Morehouse. What? Hey, how can Ambison teach me to be a better person to get a job? I hate you. I like, Janie and that guy are like, they were like, okay, you're from New York? I don't know why. I think his name's Tony. Well, too, of course, because Tony's dad is to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What. What, to. What, to. What, to. What, to. What, to. What, to. What, to. What, to to to to to to to to to to to me. to to to me. to to to to to to to t. try, try, to. take. to. take. take. to. take. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. are like, they were like, okay, you're from New York. I don't know why. I think it seems Tony. Well, too, of course, because Tony's dad is Vincent Pastor. Okay. Aka, the aforementioned big pussy.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Gotcha. I'm just gonna keep saying pretty close. It's fine. You can say as many times as you want. It's the the concert. I love all the chairs are right up against the stage. Like people have their, are sitting with their knees touching the stage. That doesn't, I don't, you would, no, I don't think so. No, no, uh-uh. Oh, I heard here, the want my pomman, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow,
Starting point is 00:25:08 contro-mah, meow, meow, meow, controversial opinion. Yeah. I love Rod Stewart's work. How could you not? Okay, good. Up until, same thing with Billy Joel, up until the fucking do-up bullshit? Yeah, I don't know. I feel like the song piano man should never be played in public anywhere. Sure, but also...
Starting point is 00:25:32 Blame fret. Also, songs that I think should not be played in public. Miss American Pie. Sure. And... And... Jungle Boogie. Really?
Starting point is 00:25:43 Fuck that song. Fuck that song. Fuck that song so hard! Who knew that you had such hard opinions about Junko Boogie? I just developed them recently. Like I heard the song in a restaurant and I was like, Why? Like, fucking why? It doesn't matter. Let's move on.
Starting point is 00:26:06 We have to be like an hour into this so far. No, just a mere 26 minutes. So the concert. Yeah. The band comes out dressed in white. Damian throws a rose to Julie, a black rose, if you will. Oh, we should also say that the kids are dressed very, almost conservatively at this point. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they to to to to Julie, a black rose if you will. We should also say that the kids are dressed very, almost conservatively at this point. Yeah, they look like 1980s kind of prep kids.
Starting point is 00:26:31 Yeah, except for Johnny of course, because he's painted the black rose skull in the back of his jacket. I love that skull. The chin is dope. I want their te-skirt. It's the least heavy metal looking skull it's ever existed. That's why I like it. And he's like writing it in puffy paint on his jacket. It was so cute.
Starting point is 00:26:49 I love that. I definitely had a jean jacket. My parents wouldn't let me have patches. So I wrote all my favorite band names on my jean jacket. Cute. Yeah. Why weren't you allowed to have patches? I don't know. It was a thing. It was a that. It was a that. that. that. that. that it was a th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th thing. thing. thing. thing. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. It was a thi. thi. It was a thi. It was thi. It was thi. It was thi. It was thi. It was thi. It was thing. It was thing. It was a thing. It was a thing. It was a th. It was a thing. It was a thing. It was a thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. thiiii. thi. thi. thi.. I guess. We had a sewing machine. I could have used it. So... Even Mr. Morehouse thinks he's hot, Damien. He's like looking at him like, oh yeah, I see the appeal, which frankly I do not. Not at all. He looks like a game show host. He does have a sweet bod when he gets down to just his strappy shirt.
Starting point is 00:27:26 He looks so, he just has such a wholesome looking face that that leather is just like... So uncomfortable. So they played this song, I want to play a song about my hometown. It is a song called Paradise which has loose allusions to hell, I think, in the lyrics somewhat. I could not focus on the lyrics, I'm sorry. And then all the parents were like, oh this is really nice, paradise, it's really nice, I'm going to leave after one song.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Yeah. Do you think they had more, like, more wholesome songs in the hopper in case the parents didn't leave? I hope they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they their their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. tho tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. I tho. I' tho. I' tho. I' tho. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I. I th. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I tho. I tho. I tho. I to. I to. to. to. I'm tod today, to tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooe. I'm to leave. I hope they had like a full striper set that they were willing to bust out. But then what if nobody comes the next night? Yeah. Also, how was Johnny already a fan of them? Because he had their album. But how do they put out an album that a kid in the middle of nowhere got?
Starting point is 00:28:17 Wait! They were a very popular band. It's just like they had to in to in to invent to invent to invent their to invent their to invent, their, their, to invent, their, to their, to to theto invent this reason for them to be playing four nights at a high school and it just doesn't make any sense. They don't even get all four nights in which I love. Spoiler alert. So the parents are like, hmm, this seems great and the mayor's like, hey, you want to go get drunk? And... I would totally get drunk with Teach. I would totally get drunk with Teach. He's like, he the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. I was, their. I was, th. I was just, th. I was just, th. I was just, th. I was just, th. I was just, tooing. I was just, tooom, th. th. tooom. to get, to get, to get, to get, to get, to get, to get, to get to get to get to get to get to get to get to get. to get. to get. to get. tot. th. th. th. tot. th. th. th. th. I was, th. I was, th. I was, th. I was. I was, tot. It. It's, tot. It's, tot. It's, tot tot totally. toda. today. today. today. today. toooooooooooooo. It's. It's to. It's to. Teach is like hell yeah. Yeah I would totally get drunk with Teach. Then he's like, he opens the door to leave and he's just lingering in the doorway staring back and fucking, Damien's making eye contact and singing at him and I'm like, oh this is so silly. So silly. And then he leaves, the lights go out
Starting point is 00:28:58 and they come back on and they're all wearing black leather and they're playing me against the world again. And he says, it's a rock invasion, which sounds like a spinal tap song. That's the song, rock invasion about being warriors of the night or whatever. Yeah, yeah. I've never once written a song about rocking. What? What? Yeah?
Starting point is 00:29:24 Yeah. That and writing a song with your band name in it. Yeah. Those are always the best songs. I like that. Yeah. Yeah. Like Bad Company. Sure, Bad Company. On the album, Bad Company. the song, Bad Company, which by the way, fucking great song. Yeah, fucking great band. Yeah, that song, that'a' tho'a' th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho' tho' tho' tho' th. th. th. th. th. that' that th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, th band. Is that okay? Big Country with their song Big Country, all the album Big Country. In a Big Country. Yeah, that song also great. Kind of a dope song. Yeah, yeah. Same, just put your band's name in its song.
Starting point is 00:29:53 It gets better. Great. We scientifically proved it. Anic data, baby. Uh, the teens go nuts. the tee, teen, teen, teen, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, tod, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, th, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t. to, tto, ttttttto, to, tttttto, to, to, to, tto-s.. to-s. to-a. to-a. to. to. to. to. to. 't stand up they're too close to the stage. So next day in class it doesn't go well the kids are becoming disinterested and arguably dressing better because they're dressing more like rebellious teens now. Yes. Tony's like how's what women gonna tell me what to do for a living? It's like, well, you're not going to be an actor, Tony.
Starting point is 00:30:27 I can tell you that much. There's finally a kid wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt. And I was like, finally, it's 1988. Come on, what are we doing here? Hit your quota. So, we, Julie tells the teach that she got free, everybody got free tickets for the tonight's show. Right. Because he's like, oh, how was a show? Oh, it was magnificent. I'm going back again tonight because we all got free tickets. Oh, what do you a million now? You got free tickets? I don't know whose voices of these voices. Yeah. So then the teacher's like, well, that's. thi. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. the th. the thi. the thi. the the thi. thi. the the teacher's like, well, that's suspicious.
Starting point is 00:31:05 So he goes to talk to Damian, who's wearing like pleaded slacks in his like tucked in shirt in his very narrow waist? He looks like a preacher. He looks like a preacher. And his hair's like super short and combed over to one side. And he's like talking to the teacher about like, maybe you should try getting into rock and roll. Maybe you'd be really good at it. And it's like, one, what makes you think this mustachioed English teacher doesn't like rock and roll? And two, what makes you think he'd be any good at it?
Starting point is 00:31:33 He's got the charisma for it. He's charismatic. We know he doesn't like rock and roll because he goes home to the, doesn't he out of the can. He's gonna drink it out of the glass way, listens to Mozart. But he's also jamming that Mozart tape like it rocks, like he's bobbing his head around like, Bada, bada, baa, ba-ba. So Damien says something like, oh I've known your soul for a long time. Well yeah, because he's not going out with the mayor's daughter and I was like th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th. But he's th. But he's he- he- he- hee, he's hee, he's hee hee. But he's he he he he he he he he he he he th. But he's th. But he's th. But he's th. But he's thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the the theeeean thean thean thean thean theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. But he's also hea daughter? Because it's already been alluded to that they are having an affair, which are not. Yeah. But it's Priscilla.
Starting point is 00:32:08 We have not met Priscilla. Julie mentions Priscilla to Johnny on the street when Johnny's like, I can't believe you're hanging out with me because you love the teach. He's going out with Priscilla. out on some of this dialogue. I did watch this movie again today at work so I just have the dialogue because I wasn't really watching it. Oh my god. So yeah he says some shit about knowing his soul.
Starting point is 00:32:35 What he says to Priscilla thing is like, oh you're going out with the man's daughter. And that's the first thing he said that's weird and Teach goes, how do you know all this? Yeah. All that, no it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's the the the the the the the the the, it's the, it's the, it's the, it's the, it's, it's, it's, the the, it's, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the, I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I's, I's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. thooooooooooooooooooooo. th. th. thooooooooooooo. th. th. th. I's, th thing he said that's weird and teach goes, how do you know all this? Yeah. All that, no, it's one fact. It's one thing, one fact. Well, I've always known your soul. I mean, that's the weirdest thing to say. You could just be like, oh, I heard it around. I'm surprised they didn't grab his butt after it's like a very weird. the soprano's guy. Yeah, big pussy? Uh-huh, that's the one. Just going, Stunard! Which I have never heard in outside of one of my relatives mouth before.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Outside of my family, I've never heard anyone say that. Nope, I've never heard it in movie or television. So I'm happy. You fucking Gabagool! What's going on here? Then he says the F word. Yeah. Then he says the F-F-W-Fa' f fford-Ford-Ford-Ford-Ford-Fu the ff-Fu-Fu-Fgu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-Fu-I-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o- th- th- th-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-out th th th th th th th th th th th th th th out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out th-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-u-u-s out th-s out th-s out of th- th- th- th- tho'- the- the- the-of-of-of-of-of-of-of-of-of-of-out tho'-out tho'. Yeah, yeah. And then it's very 1988 one. Yeah, and then it's quickly followed with Bafangul. Which I love, as you know. He's, uh, we need the most Italian actor. Not like real Italian, like American Italian. Yeah, oh, sure. So his son is listening to Black Roses and pumping iron as you do. Like you do. They're listening to once again, me against the world by Lizzie Borden, not by Black Roses.
Starting point is 00:33:48 Which I like that the subtitles told me every time it was Lizzie Borden. So I guess I know. Don't get it twisted here. I had it all. I had the album. I remember the video. That's kind of cool. Yeah, it was neat. It is neat. There's still a going concern if you want to see them. Damn. So he's listening to the record and Buffon Goul tells him to get out of the room, turn that music off so he turns the stereo off and
Starting point is 00:34:19 then dad sits down, I don't know to read the paper or something. Yeah, why did he need him to stop lifting weights and listening to metal? He had to go help his mother with the dishes. Oh, but we were told that his mother had left his father for... No, that was Johnny's mom that left because his dad was a... Oh, I thought it was Buffungool. Okay, I just got my dialogue thu. thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu th insinuating the chief of divorced. How could anyone leave Buffon Goul? So this, I didn't understand. The kids listening to a record. No, this you didn't understand.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Well, it's a very nitpicky thing. The record that he's listening to is you axed for it by the mentors and I was like, but it's the Lizzie Borden cover by Black Roses. Why did they get a record that has another band's label on it for the scene where they focus on the label on the record? I don't know because they were going to destroy this record. Maybe they just didn't want to destroy their Lizzy Borden record? I fully am in a in in in in in in in in in in in in in their. their. their. th. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their Lizzie Borden record? I fully am in favor of destroying Mentor's records. That band sucks. Fuck them. I don't know anything about them. They call them rape rock. Oh, gross.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Really? Really? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. DJ's been dead for years. I think they're still going, but maybe, I don't know. Anyway, fuck that band. Fair.
Starting point is 00:35:45 So, the radio, the stereo turns itself back on, the record gets real lumpy? Yeah, it's a little, little boily. And then the speaker gets real, half-ass eager looking. Yeah, it's a creature who attacks Bofangul from the speaker, but just it's just moving so slowly. I shortled when this happened. I was so excited about this fucking hand puppet with six legs and a tail that's cable wrapping that comes out of the fucking speaker. It comes so slowly. Buffungul has so much time to get away. And Buffungul does not make a single sound about this happening. Isn't he going, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah.
Starting point is 00:36:33 I would say he's going, ah, ah, uh, uh, uh, uh. And the whole time the puppet is going, I wait, wait, wait, uh, that's the vacuum cleaner that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the cable behind it. I guess it kills Bofongool. It eats him and selects him into the speaker. You can see his one loafers hang out of the s- Oh my god. Like, how did he fit? Maybe speakers, like our human bodies are just donuts.
Starting point is 00:37:00 That was. That it was. I love telling the jokes that we tell to each other when no one else is listening. Did you like when Mr. Morehouse was jamming that Mozart tape like it rocks so hard that he like looks up on the wall and just sees a framed photo of himself with two of his students? What? Current of students! He's fucking pervert. Nothing creepy here. Oh, yeah, he is. I was like, oh, this dick is not going to drink that can beer out of a glass right now. Oh, yeah, yes. Oh, who doesn't occasionally pour an icy light into a pint glass? How dare you? It wasn't a pint glass, though, it was like a wine goblet.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Chalice. I just love for my... You gotta let it breathe. You gotta let it breathe, let it air raid. Airate, that's the word. Cut to concert night number two? Yes. And this is the one where Damian keeps turning people into Play-Doh people?
Starting point is 00:38:10 Do you think I like those effects because I really do? You 100% do. I love it. It looks like clay and I just love it. Like what is he doing to those kids' faces and why? And do those kids turn back? Because we never see them looking like that again. They all look like the, they're like, like,
Starting point is 00:38:33 they look like the head hunter, or the shrunken head person from Beetlechairs. Yes, very like bug-eyed and wrinkly-headed. It's great. Why? No, it doesn't matter. What is Satan's plan at this point? They're like dipping their toes into being demons, where they turn into demon heads and then come back, I guess.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Oh, a third stage of being a demon is you look like somebody's index finger with gugly eyes. Are you... Danzig right now? Oh, they're all fucking vampires. Every time you say it, it gets me. It's so soon we're gonna be able to watch that movie and I'm so excited. So excited. It's like September, it's coming out, I can't wait. What's it coming out on? Oh, I hope in the theaters. Oh, it's getting a theatrical release. I would assume. Really? Why wouldn't it? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? It? th? It's? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? th? the th. It's? th. It's, th. It's? they's? they're all? they're all? they're all? they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they're all? Oh? They's they's? They's? Oh? Oh? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It? It? It? It? It's? It? It? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? It's? the. It's? the. It's? the. It's? the the the the the th. th. th. thi. th. the the thi. the the the the the the the thi. the the the the the the th. the theaters. Oh, it's getting a theatrical release. I would assume. Really? Why wouldn't it?
Starting point is 00:39:27 Why would it? I mean, are you being serious? I don't know what. I don't know. I really have no idea. I just want there to be another question answer after the viewing where he says, you all left the parts that I didn't think were funny. Oh, Glenn. Stop.
Starting point is 00:39:53 That's sad. That's a bummer. It's so sad, but it's also... Yeah, well, it's a very funny movie. What was it called? Veratica? Veratica. Portmanteau. Right, right. I was thinking Violetta, but I think that was Judy Greer in Jawbreaker. Oh my god, please put Judy Greer in one of your movies tensing. It'll make it so much water. Don't even do that to Judy Greer. She deserves better. So Mr. Morehouse is in his house.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Yeah. He hears like a crashing sound outside. And he goes out and finds that his car busted up. Yeah. Who would do that to Mr. Morehouse's car? And he's like, I have no idea. It's literally right across their aching 43 year old bones back and threw a car window. He does not appear to see them. He's also driving down the street and there are teens just beating the shit out of each
Starting point is 00:40:52 every other everywhere. He doesn't care enough to try to stop it. He doesn't even honk his horn. I love that this is what the movie thinks teens on the streets are like, they're not just like smoking cigarettes and breaking bottles, they're like in full-on brawls on the street corners. They're kicking one kid on the ground who just is going, Gah! Which really made me laugh. So he goes to the mayor's house, which is also Priscilla's house.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Why does this lady live with her dad? Hey, an adult? I don't know. Maybe she's a recent teen too. She's being so, she's not, she's pretty old. In this town. She's appropriately aged for Mr. Morehouse that way. Yeah. For sure. She's being a real dick to him about being a teacher, which is a very respectable profession. She's so hot out of the gate and mad at him. I feel like she might be the only appropriately aged adult in the town for Mr. Morehouse and that's why he's with her because like what do you and she have in common? I don't know I love a fighting I guess. I guess. They do seem to
Starting point is 00:41:57 really like to fight with each other. The scene goes nowhere it starts from nothing and goes to nothing. Nope it's just just a scene. It's just one to have. Is your dad home? I don't know. Okay, I gotta go. They're like fighting like teens. Yes. And then her dad was home. Why? Bristle, who's down there?
Starting point is 00:42:16 It's just the show she's a bitch. I saw that when she was saying, oh, you're little students that you're so proud of. Yeah, that's because he's trying to fuck his student and she knows it and she thinks he's a scumbank. But he's not trying to fuck his student. Well, he doesn't fuck her. He doesn't fuck her. When the child's trying to leave the classroom one point, he's like, hey, long time, no see.
Starting point is 00:42:36 But come hang out for a while. He's trying to be a father figure. I just, I will defend Mr. Morehouse till my dying day. He's so hot. I have a note here that says, please don't play the Paradise Song again. I cannot take it. Is this before, after Johnny gets fucked by a ghost even. It's right before, because my next note says,
Starting point is 00:43:01 and they're playing it again. And then my next note after that says, wow, look at those silhouette boobies. I think they're called silhouetties. Silhouetties? I love it. Then my next note says, who is putting that much product in a child's hair? Who is that kid? What kid? Little boy who's throwing the action figures into the fire? It's a, it's it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's that, it's a, it's that's that's that's that's that's, that, that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that boy who's throwing the action figures into the fire. It's a, it's a, uh, Janie's brother, right?
Starting point is 00:43:30 I don't know. And he's only throwing the good guy action figures into the fire. He keeps all the, like, villains. Oh, I didn't know that. He threw like, Aquaman and Superman into the fire. I bet that kid grew up to bitch the the the the thage thage thage th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the th th the the the the the. the. the. the. theate. the. the. the. I the. Starting point is 00:43:54 Yeah, because he's like 40 now. You know what I'm saying? And women suck. I like how the dad looks down and he's like, 11 o'clock. Are you still up? That child is in your care. You have to put children to bed. They don't just go.
Starting point is 00:44:09 It was like he didn't even realize the kid was sitting next to him. Next to an open flame and putting things in it. Sir! Putting poisonous gas in there by burning those blasted action figures. Did you used to set action figures on fire? Oh. by burning the splasted action figures. Did you used to set action figures on fire? Oh, fuck, yeah, I did. Of course, I did. Of course, I did. I remember lighting, wrapping two GI Joe action figures
Starting point is 00:44:31 in paper towels, soaking them in lighter fluid. Holy fuck. Lighting a helicopter and fire and throwing it off my deck because I wanted a fiery crash. That's awesome. Was it cool. A little little. to, to, to to to to to to to to to to to to thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. So it's like the only power you have. You have no power as a child. Someone telling you what to eat, what to wear, when to sleep. Power setting shit on fire. It's that it's that like you're barely at control of it and you know it at all times. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the to. to. to. the the to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to be. to. to be. to be. to be. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I it's very taboo. You are, as Aerosmith would say, living on the edge. Loving an elevator?
Starting point is 00:45:11 Yep. Dude looks like a lady? Yeah. Dude looks like a lady? Fuck that song. I'm glad that will never appear in a movie ever again. I'm looking at you, Mrs. Doubtfire. I'm looking at you probably Adam Sandler. Yeah. Uh, Buffon Goul's son runs his mom over with the car.
Starting point is 00:45:37 I hope my kid doesn't get into the black roses. I love the scene so much. Did you? He just, he, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, to to to to to too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, for no fucking reason, runs his mom over here. She's like, hey, I told you not to be out so late. And he's like, buffungo you! Asternod! And then backs right the fuck over her.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Pools right into the driveway. And then just goes in the house, leaves the mom dying in strays. So then it cuts to Janie-jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the s, the s, the s, the s, the s, the the the the tho the. the. the. thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. too. to to to to to to to the's dad? Yeah. Okay. She seems like she wants to fuck her dad. Well, at least wants her friend to fuck her dad. She wants someone to fuck her dad. Yeah, she wants to corrupt her dad. Because now she's down with the demon scene. Oh, just like, the kids have become evil at this point.
Starting point is 00:46:18 I see. Because, oh, we forgot. that's like, thi's like, tha. tha. tha. thi. that's like, thi. thi. that's like, thi. thi. that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, thi. thi's like, that's like, to to tooom. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. thathe. thathe. that. that. that. that. that. that. that thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the feel evil to me. It just feels like really twisted. Well, yeah, but that's like Satan's job, right? He's like a twisted, fucking, hijinks he kind of. Hi, jinx. Hi, jinx. Yeah, he's a trickster. He's like, Loki.
Starting point is 00:46:36 I have some news for you. Yeah. . I don't want to upset you. Yeah. There's no Satan. What? There is no Satan? Come again? There is no Satan. I'm sorry. I have years of heavy metal records that would tell you that that's incorrect. I know there's no Satan. That's why it's fun.
Starting point is 00:46:54 So satanic panic panic. It's satanic panic without any of Christianity. that's a good point. Yeah. Maybe that's just Canadian. Yeah, well, um, like this, part of the Satanic Panic Panic thin. Partics started in Canada. Okay. With like the, um, oh shit, I'm not going to be able to remember in the name of it. But there was like, there's a of it. Yeah. It's very strange. I guess they're just tying together the moral panics of like Satanism and also like kids
Starting point is 00:47:29 rebelling against their parents. Yeah. Well, I was actually thinking about this the other day, like, do they still make evil teen movies? Evil teen movies? Like, um, have you ever seen Over the edge? It's a Matt Dillon film from like 1978 of families moved to a suburb, a suburb that has like nothing for teens to do, so they just start like lighting cop cars on fire and going nuts. Oh wow, no. And I feel like that was a trend in movies.
Starting point is 00:47:55 Yeah. And like they just don't have like, or the outsiders, the afore-mentioned outsiders, or um, River's Edge, yeah, you're right. I don't know. And I felt like this movie fit into that with the frisson of Satan in there as well. I think we just wouldn't know what teens are watching. It's true. Or they're just watching Marvel movies. Or what parents are afraid of it? Right. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Because I guess parents and teens are just watching watching Marvel movies now because that's all anybody watches anymore. Anyway. We forgot to mention that after ghost demon fucks Johnny he gets a gun and shoots his dad in the head for no fucking reason. Yeah his dad seemed okay. Yeah his dad just didn't care about things but it was fine. He thought his 43 year old son could survive on his own and for that I don't blame him. Which also his dad looked like he was in his like 60s or 70s he, so like he was like, his he he he was like he was like he was like he was like he was in his he he was in th he was in th he was in th he was in th. th. th. He was in th. He was in th. He was in th. He was in th. He was in th. He was in to to to to to to th. He was in a to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like he was like he was like he was like he was like he was like he was like he was like he was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was in they. He was in the the th. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like. He was like to. He was in. He was in. He was like, he. He, so like John, what are you telling me here? It was age appropriate for everything to be all the time. He puts on like a black postcoital glove to shoot his dad. And then when he moves away from the bed, the woman disappears. Yeah, that's why I kept calling her the ghost demon. Oh, silhouitties.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Danny's dad plays strip gin with her friend Tina or whatever. I just wrote, is Tina a minor? Sucks. Yes. Oh, it's so gross. So she gives him a heart attack with her titties, which is fine. And the next day, everyone, like the teacher and guidance counselor and everything
Starting point is 00:49:21 are talking about how her Janie's dad died of a heart attack but no one is talking about how Buff on Gould's wife got run over. Or how Johnny killed his father. Right, they're all dead. None of this ever comes back, by the way. Yeah, they're so like, also Janie is talking to the guidance counselor or whatever, and she's like, my mom was getting home from Bridge Club at 3 a.m. On a weeknight, why is her mom's life so much cooler than mine? And why is the guidance counselor fiddling with that book behind him during this conversation?
Starting point is 00:49:57 Who knows? That guy sucks. So weird. I was so glad when he got pushed out the window. Yeah, she turns into a demon and pushes him out the window with her crimped hair. Who delivers the line, bad kids, bad music, bad news? Because I have that written down. No idea. Oh, I love that she pushed him out the window. It was so good. And she goes, great scream, because they've been talking about basically screaming your feelings out.
Starting point is 00:50:26 Yeah, your primal screams. And then fucking teach is like, I gotta go to the library. Yeah, where I'm gonna spend the night? I'm sorry, but there's no way that like a grown-ass man falls asleep with his head down on a table and doesn't wake up once in the night. He wakes up up, It's broad fucking day. What. What??? What? What? What? What? What? What? You? You th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah? Yeah? Yeah. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. 't wake up once in the night. He wakes up, it's broad fucking daylight. He's like 10 o'clock! What? You've been there for like 18 hours. It's fine because the next concert's starting now. Okay but before that, or maybe after that it doesn't actually be better. Julie goes to kill Priscilla, who's just finished playing tennis. Right, right. Which is fine with me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:07 Yeah. Yeah. Well, this is, is this... Oh no, this is before Julie kills her lechie, stepfather. Oh yeah, she kills her stepfather, then goes to kill Priscilla. Or possibly vice versa. It really doesn't matter. Yeah, yeah, she beats him to death with an ashtray and I was like, yo, I like this.
Starting point is 00:51:25 Yeah, he had a comment. Like, I was a fucking scubbag. I also don't mind seeing Priscilla's death. No. No. No. No. Uh, boobubing scene. What is that note about? She pulls out her tits and rubs them around for a solid 90 seconds, like whose titties are these?
Starting point is 00:51:47 Who's standing up to jerk it? And then she's just like, yep, that's enough, pulls her corset up and walks out of the room. Yeah, she does like slide her hand down into her like her underpants and then, but it's just like, uh-uh back and rubbing them to, like, doing a breast exam. Because she realizes she that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th is just th is just th's just th's just thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, t's t-s, to's t-s, tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooothat nobody stands up to jerk it. So I think we're meant to believe that's Julie. I think it is, yes. But then we see Julie's tits later and those aren't her tits. Those tits don't match with any of the other tits in the movie.
Starting point is 00:52:15 Stunk tits. Does the teacher have a dream about Julie rubbing her tits and then beating her stepfather into death because that seems to be what it's alluded to. Oh I don't know. He like wakes up and he's like, Julie, I has to go find Julie. Oh, I don't know. Oh, yeah, this is where she kills Priscilla. Right. Because I made a note about how much I love the all red interior of her car. And then also like Julie shows up at the teacher's house right afterwards. How is she not covered in blood?
Starting point is 00:52:58 Oh, you know, demons clean off easily. Oh, here's my note. No, those are different tits from Julie's tits earlier. Oh, that's because she shows her tits to the teettits to the tee? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. That's. that's. that's. that's she she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she she shows she she she's she she she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows she shows. She shows her she shows her t. She's she shows her. She's. She's. She's. She's she shows her tits to the teacher? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, here's when I've chosen the titties. The titties. The titties. But it's not the titties, it's a set of titties, because there are several sets of Julie's tits out there. Did you like her demon teeth? I did. I liked them a lot. very funny. Did you like when she looked down and somehow I'd lost a finger in the transformation? Because I really like that. Do you like that I have a note
Starting point is 00:53:27 that says now she has full-blown wrinkly demon? I thought she looked like a fucked up ET. He just like shoves a tennis ball in a in the demon's mouth. He's hitting it with a tennis racket which is making this like whoopoh, which is not at all the sound I think a tennis racket would make, but okay. He goes on it. He stakes her, he kills Julie. He does. She dead now.
Starting point is 00:53:54 In his house, leaves her. Killed the student that he does definitely try and have an affair with. And I'm sorry, inappropriate relationship. He goes out and buys gas and flares. Maybe he did the the the tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha thoe thoe thoe thoe thooo tho th th tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th. I th. I th. I th. I tho. tho. He's tho. the. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes. He's t. He's the. He's t. He goes out and buys gas and flares. Maybe he really did just want to be a father figure to her. Maybe. I'm going to believe the best of all, Mr. Morehouse. He got to the next concert. Because all the murdering stuff is having, like the titty-rubbing scene, the backdrop is they're playing another song. And before they start playing it, Damian says,
Starting point is 00:54:25 Let's make blood sing. Fuck off, Damian. So when we get back to the concert hall, aka the Mill Basin High School Auditorium, Julie's there. Yeah. Yeah. How? Uh-huh. So Mr. Morehouse gets into a fight with Damian. And all the high school kids are still chanting, fight, fight, fight, fight, th. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. th. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tha. the the the the the the the the the thu. thu. th. thu. th. th. th. th. th.ien. Uh-huh. And all the high school kids are still are still chanting fight, fight, fight, fight, even though they're under
Starting point is 00:54:48 a demonic spell, which I think is very funny. I love the pre-concert black mass that's going on that's just like a fucking cafeteria with candles on top. When you play at a high school, you have to take what you're given, you know? Teamans gotta make do with what the hell? That's right. Demons are nothing if not resourceful. So Mr. Morehouse says something about his kids. And Damien's like, you had your chance now they're mine.
Starting point is 00:55:22 And I thought, well, are you going to teach in poetry they're his soldiers of evil yeah black roses arise what the hell yes hell this is where he pulls off the wig like I wasn't gonna be surprised that that wasn't his real hair oh shit he's bold oh shit he a demon Julie you still want to fuck that we're dino that the teasu the the the theyl yeah yeah h h h h h h h h h h h h h h h I I th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their the the the the- the- their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their they. they. the the the the the the the the the the the the teeeeeeeee-s. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tee in his real hair. Oh shit, he's bold. Oh shit, he had demon. Julie, you still want to fuck that weird dinosaur looking guy? Hell yeah!
Starting point is 00:55:50 And Mr. Morehouse is hitting him with like a timpani mallet. They did not seem to have a timpani in their work. I'm sure it's for the gong that's on jeweler and Carmen Pieces drum set. And at this point you realize, demon is really not all that powerful. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. And he still has nards. He does have nards.
Starting point is 00:56:13 Mm-hmm. Who throws Juley? Mr. Morehouse, yeah, that's what I thought. He like throws her into the crowd. Yeah, that's what I throze. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. throw. thoom. thoom. thoo. throws. thooom. tho- tho- tho- tho- tho- tho- thoom. And all the kids are wearing black roses t-shirts, and I thought, God, they must have made a killing on merch sales. Oh, for sure. Yeah. Yeah. Only got three nights of it, though.
Starting point is 00:56:33 The teach saves Julie, even though he killed her. Uh, who was yelling mother fucker and a bitch? Who was yelling mother and son? Oh, yeah, and I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. And I th. And I th. And I th. It is the absolute is the safest thing you can do. It actually works. It really is the best thing you can do. For sure. Fire safety. If you learn one thing from us, stop drop and roll, stop drop and roll. There's a lot of things that we say that are probably probably the same the same the same tha tha tha tha tha tho tho tho tho thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. Stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop stop, th. th. We also give really bad advice, but I will say, stop drop and roll, I know for sure, good advice. So everything's fine now. Morehouse is hanging, Teach is hanging out with the mayor. Yeah. On the TV, what do we hear from the TV people? That Black Roses are going are gonna be playing sold out nights at Madison Square Garden?
Starting point is 00:57:27 Huh. And then I just wrote, wait, that's the end of the movie. The end? What? Demon laughter. Oh, fucking hell. Katie. Alan.
Starting point is 00:57:39 It's just you against the rating system. You want to rate this movie? This movie is fucking terrible. I mean it's fun, it's fine, but it's awful. I'm giving it a four. Nice. Wow. Nice.
Starting point is 00:57:54 What about you? I'm going to give it a six. Better than average, you think this film is. Because I love 80s heavy metal movies. Because it's so stupid. Mm-hmm. Again, this goes into my, if you're hanging out with friends
Starting point is 00:58:09 and you put this out at 3 o'clock in the morning, you're gonna have a hoot. It's gonna be a total hoot. Definitely. So yeah, you could do much worse than watching this movie. Not much worse. You could do somewhat worse. Pairs well with what is slime bowl ballerama or whatever. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:58:28 Pairs well with, I would watch this with Neon Maniacs. Yeah, I can re-watch that. Yeah, you do. I've got the DVD that Josh sent us. Oh, that was so kind. Katie. Can I hit you up with a message from a patron? I would love that. This is from Alex. Hi Alex. I asked Alex for a message, and he said,
Starting point is 00:58:51 My only message is more of a compliment. I've been listening to your podcast for years and it never stops being funny. Thank you. Starting point is 00:59:11 I wanted to say thank you for all of that. And you have a listener until the end, which will never happen. Well, one of us has to die eventually, Alan. It's not true. Oh, okay. I would like to say happy birthday to Alex's brother Max who had a birthday in July. Happy birthday, Max. Sorry we missed your birthday birthday month. Well, we're recording this July 29th, so we're right. You're wrong. The listener. So, happy birthday, Max. You're probably not as cool as Alex, but like, that's all right. Don't you think?
Starting point is 00:59:57 Man, I, I, I'm assuming he's a listener, if he's hearing this birthday shout, or Max, yeah, yeah, you never know. I hope you had a great birthday. Yeah, hope it was fun. I hope you enjoyed being not as great as your brother. I hope that this wasn't the gift that Alex gave you, where we just sort of disparage you in favor of Alex. Is that okay? Although if I know brothers, Alex knows that he won. Yeah.
