Starting point is 00:00:00 Katie, Alan. Welcome to 1666, baby! Woo! Feels good to be here in union. What an awful time to be alive. I would suffer, I would just do so badly. As a middle-aged white dude, I do great. Sure, you'd be top-y. Yeah, yeah. Top tier. But, fuck, no. I do not want anything to do with it. I think for me, I'm not, I wouldn't be good in a small town anywhere. You're a big city lady. Yeah, you watch the Gilmore girls where everybody's up in each other's business. I. I. And I. And I, th. And I, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, as thi, as thi, as thi, as, as, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiii, thiiiiii, thii, thi, thi, thi, thi, th't be good in a small town anywhere. Like you watch, you watch the Gilmore girls where everybody's up in each other's business and I just think, wow, how awful. So what's the gene pool of that beautiful, beautiful town?
Starting point is 00:00:53 Honestly, those people are fucking, and they're having babies and then those babies are fucking. They're so beautiful. No town is that beautiful? I grew I grew up in a small-ish, no I grew up in the suburbs, never mind. How many people lived in your town do you think? In like the town proper I think it was like 20,000. Oh wow. Yeah, and then when students would come in it would double. Oh right, because it's a college town. Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep. Full moon rises before night. It's a good night to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. thi. a good night to enjoy the fruits of the land. I love a party code.
Starting point is 00:01:27 I think that's so fun. I need to have a party code with people I know. I think we need one almost like a handshake for EMTs. They can roll up to each other and be like, a dick joke. Are we becoming masons? What are the cool masons? What are there cool masons? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:01:48 I don't know shit about free masons. Here we go. I like this. This is always a good intro. But it seems silly. Because how secret of a society can it be if you can buy like a book about it at borders or wherever one. So my favorite story about the Freemasons is my dad
Starting point is 00:02:05 is one. That's right, that's right, yeah. And where he kept his Masonic Bible was the same drawer that he kept his handgun. Right. And I always thought that that was very telling of, yeah. It paints a picture. Yeah, it does. You ever leave through that Masonic Bible? No, I never did. I didn't want to know if my dad was like, to. to. to. to. to. to. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. th. th. th. th. th. their, th. they. th. they. they. they. they. their, their, their, their, the did. I didn't want to know if my dad was like fucking goats or something. Because they do weird shit. It's like a club where they like all get drunk. It's a it's a frat basically. And I think they make you do weird shit so they can be like, yeah, but you fuck that goat and now we can tell everybody that you fuck that goat. Oh, they blackmail you. I think so. I thinks. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. they're they're they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. th. th. th. th. do. do. do. do. do. do. do. do. do. the do. the the the the the the the the they're like. they're like. they're. they. tell everybody that you fuck that goat. Oh, they blackmail you. I think so, like socially, yeah. Well, that sounds like it's a terrible thing to pay dues for. Yes, but also you can get pulled over by the cops, show them your Masonic ring and they'll be like, brother, brother, and let you go. I thought that just. It's white men with a kutremol.
Starting point is 00:03:05 To be fair, as a white woman, I've been pulled over a couple times and really never gotten a substantial ticket. Yeah. Oh, officer, I'm so sorry. I got pulled over, I got pulled over for running a stop sign. I got pulled over, I got pulled over for running a stop sign when I did like a Hezzi stop. Oh, that's no good. So the stop sign was in the middle of fuck all nowhere. It was like where four cornfields met. Sure. That had all been mowed down.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Yeah. So you could see for miles. Okay. And I got up to and I was like, yeah, there's nobody around except for the cop hiding behind a tree that watch me as he stuffed their stuff, so I would be probably 50 people a day do that. It just tickets all of them. Someone's got to pave the roads. Yeah, nothing else you could be doing? Nothing. Probably not, frankly. A lot of cornfields, you know.
Starting point is 00:03:54 No corn crimes? Corn crime. Anyway. So the be another one. Obviously the end of the movie tells you that. Yep. Of the Fear Street franchise. One, six, six, six. Now why do you think they chose that? I don't, is there a, I don't, I don't, you tell me. The nerd in me is like, well, why is it 30 years before Salem witch trials?
Starting point is 00:04:23 It doesn't make sense. That's a great question. But of course they were having witch trials. It's because the devil. Yeah. It opens on a pig-see section? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:35 I love the reveals in this movie. Okay. She's like, oh, she's committed murder. She's watching a knife. . th, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, th. th. th. thi, thi, the. the. the. th. thi, thi, the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's thi. It's. Yeah. No, she was just helping pigs. Helping piggies. Yeah. I love this actress who plays Dina slash Serafure. For sure.
Starting point is 00:04:49 She's great. She's also 28 years old. No, she's like 16. No? She's a child. Oh, OK, I'm wrong. And she's doing an accent, which I don't't even really hate. All of them nail that like Irish-shish accent they're doing? That way.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Ah, it's like a colonial America sort of thing. But they're doing well at it. Yeah, I love it. Yeah. Except for Solomon, who's just kind of not bothering. Slash, Nick Good, slash the less ethnic version of himself. I still do not understand that casting. We had a, uh, NMT wrote into us that, um, was talking about how sometimes people look more ethnic when they're younger. And they used, uh, Pete Wents, of Fallout Boy as their example that he's grown less ethnic
Starting point is 00:05:43 looking as he's gotten older. Interesting. Yeah. I feel like he's grown less ethnic looking as he's got older. Interesting. Yeah. I feel like I've gotten more ethnic looking as I've gotten older because my hair got darker, my skin got yellower. Well, and you keep wearing that, that's the tape of Italy. Yeah, I mean, to be fair, the big boot of Italy, the boob of Italy. Not good. Not good. Pete Wents.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Okay, I'll look up pictures of young Pete Wents. I like that someone heard that though, and they were like, what about Pete Wents? Thank you for writing in with that information. I love when they give us facts. Yeah, for sure. Me too. Me too. Me too. Me too. I agree with me too. I'm th. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th th th thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th Me too. Me too, I said it. Me too, I agree with me. Me too, I'm so smart. Isn't he married to? Ashley Simpson. Yes. Thank you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's all. Really just lip-synched on S&L and your career's dunza? Well, and if you watched your show, the Ashley Simpson show. I did not, I did. Anyone could get a TV show? th. Well, th. Well, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, I to, to, to, to, to, to, to, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th show. I did not. I did know it existed. Did. Anyone could get a TV show these days. Oh well, this was 2004 or something. She had like throat polyps. Oh no. And she was, they, it was like all, they were filming all the lead up to that show. And maybe this was filmed afterwards to sort of retcon the whole thing. Yeah. But she like really wasn't able to sing. then they played the wrong song and a lot of people lip-sink live shows. For sure, anyway. Not many of them, not many of them, oh-down dance would it happen. I mean what would you do? Probably try to do the worm and get
Starting point is 00:07:15 off the stage. Yeah. She went ho-down, I would go worm. Yeah. I mean I think that's a better choice but yeah. Yeah. Anyway. Yeah. So we we th th th th th th th th th that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that. that that that that that that that. that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that. that. that. that that. that that that that that. that. that that. that. that that. that that. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the. better choice, but yeah. Yeah. Anyway. Yeah. So we meet Sarah, she has a loving father, unlike current Dina. Do we know that character from other movies? I forgot to look up whether that actor had been in the previous movies. Let's see, so he would be... No, he is only... Because we never see dad and the other ones. Because he's the alcoholic dad who's like totally outside of their lives.
Starting point is 00:07:48 Yeah, Josh has a terrible wig and I'm here for him. Yeah, he's criminally underutilized in this movie I felt. Uh, yeah, we'll get to my, they've done Josh Dirty. They do do Josh. Also, I am. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. th. Josh. Josh. th. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. th. Josh. th. Josh. Josh. Josh. th. th. Josh. th. th. th. Josh. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Josh. th. Josh. th. th. th. Josh. th. th. th. to. th. Josh. th. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. th. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. Josh. th. Josh names for these characters. Oh, sure. Like when they parade out Kate and now she's like, I don't know, Abby or something? Lizzy. I was like, I'm not doing this, you're Kate. Don't do this to me. Hello, Simon.
Starting point is 00:08:16 It's Isaac. I'm sorry, Simon? What did you say? Also I know people like Simon. thi Simon much more tolieroliiiiiiiiiiiiii toliny tol. tol. tol. tol. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi? I thi? I'm thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. I thi. I, like no lines in the story. Old-timey Simon, much more tolerable. We will call him Old-timey Simon. Old-timing? God, I love a poor man, too. You do. Um, we see that her and Hannah, aka Sam, yep, have this delightful flirtation.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Those two actresses have a lot of chemistry. I like them. Yeah. If you thought going to Fingertown was crazy last time, just wait! I was like, these are kids books written. No? No, no, not at all. Right at Art. That's right. Let's go. So the kids are all getting ready for a party. Yeah. They're gonna go to the Witch's house. To get old-timey acid. To get old-timey acid, which seems fun. But they go there and she's not there, so they just start going through her shit. Who thinks that's a good idea? Once again, I love Kate.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Yeah. Because she's like, fuck it, let's the drugs. Get high, do crimes for Satan. This is a catchphrase, I'm trying to get going. Two crimes for Satan. Maybe we can get it on a t-shirt. Get high, do crimes for Satan. Get high, do crimes for Satan. But she's just like, yeah, steal the fucking berries, let's do this. And then the widow Mary shows up, who's the nurse from the last movie. Yeah, I liked Yeah. I liked seeing. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to. Yeah, to. Yeah, to. Yeah, to. Yeah, to. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. th. the. the. the. the. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. t. t. te from the last movie. Yeah, I liked seeing her. Yeah. Yeah. I expected- Which also gets a little bit fucked up in the storyline, because if she's the widow, she doesn't seem to have any children. Right. How is Nurse Lane, and then Ruby Lane, her descendant?
Starting point is 00:09:54 Well, is that the way it's working? I thought they were because, well, they don't give last names for most of the old-timey people other than the goods. Okay, fine. Oh, right, because Dina's last name isn't fear. Right, right, right, right. Yeah. I think it's just supposed to, it seems to me that like...
Starting point is 00:10:17 Right. Say our fear didn't have any children. Okay, well, whatever then. I think it's supposed to be that this flashback is just populated by Dina with people that she knows. Okay. I guess I got confused on that because they've made a big deal out of how no one gets out of this town. You know? Sure, for sure.
Starting point is 00:10:34 People have always been here and they're stuck here. And that every one who but also just like, also, well, we'll get to that. I just wanted to see his mom, which is just him dressed up like a 50s mom. I thought the widow Mary was going to be C. Berman for so the reason, but it makes sense that it's the nurse. And C. Berman appears as a child. Whoa, you thought it was going to be Jillian Jacobs, not Sadie Sink. Wow, this is just getting too deep for me. Yeah, it couldn't be C. Berman because, fuck it, I don't want to do this right now. I was talking to someone about this movie and they were it, you just go along for the ride, which as we know is my MO. I know, but our job is to think about it.
Starting point is 00:11:28 Is it the, I thought our job is to think dick jokes around a movie. Right, there's a great boner in this, in this party scene, which I thought was funny. And then I thought, God, those pants that they're wearing are so unforgiving for boners. Like how hard that must be for like pubes and boys? Badoom-bomf. Yeah, how hard... Bone dogs all over the place. They were just all tiny sweatpants. Yeah, but thinner, thin sweatpants, sweatpants you've worn so long that you can almost see your weaned dog through them. Wean dog? Peener? One more. Peeper? There you go. We get a bunch STD jokes? Do they still call them STDs? What else would they call them? I thought sexually
Starting point is 00:12:17 transmitted disease had some new name. Is it STI sexually transmitted infections? Maybe? Maybe. That's better, I guess. An infection can be healed whereas a disease seems like it's stuck with you for a while. For sure. But also Sarah has read the widow's book. Oh right, right, right. Which has information about sort of letting Satan in, I guess. About doing crimes for Satan? Exactly. Did you get excited when she read out Abadon, Abadon, Hellhouse. Cognetti! Cognetti's. What if these two universes overlapped? I mean, I could see that in a lot of ways.
Starting point is 00:12:54 Because it's just, they're both doing this thing of like, well, back the next, you know, a previous time, and then the previous time. Then they're Jesus. I'm so glad they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they didn't they're they're they didn't they they they they they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're time. Then they're Jesus. I'm so glad they didn't pull Jesus out at the end of this one. Were you surprised at how horny all these teens were in the old timey days? No. For some reason I have it in my... I know why because all old-timies are like shown as being chased? Sure. Like I love period piece films and everyone's like, touc- my. Everyone's'm so horny. Everyone's so fucking horny.
Starting point is 00:13:28 And this would be just like, we're horny. Ah! The human condition is horniness. I think it was Nietzsche who wrote that. And then Freud said, for your mother. Yeah, oh yeah. Truly though, I want to go to a bachanol. Do you...
Starting point is 00:13:46 Oh yeah, you were talking about this, yeah, yeah, yeah. Was I? Oh, you wanted to be a witch getting naked in the woods? Yeah, oh yeah, I did. I do. I don't even need to be naked. I would settle for like brawn undies. Because it's like, you I'm just going to do a Bacchanal in a bathing suit. That I'm into.
Starting point is 00:14:07 But I was just like, oh man, these kids are going to town on each other. This is wild. So one of the boys, the boy with the boner, tries to basically assault Hannah slash Sam. Right. And Dina slash Sarah sticks up and they run off and have hot, hot lesbian sex. Yeah, yeah. Being watched by someone in the woods. Right. Which it actually ends up being the boy with the boner, right?
Starting point is 00:14:33 No, I thought, yes. Because he knows about it. Oh no, who's the one who reports them? A lot of the men look the same to me. Because they all have terrible long long long long long long long the wigs the the the the their their their tha tha thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes the thoes the thoes, thus, thus, tho- tho-s, ths, ths, ths, tho, ths, tho, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, ths, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the. the. thea, thea, thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea, thea, thea, thea, th men look the same to me because they all have terrible long wigs on and it's all all the wigs are like covering the parts of their face that I might recognize. Terrible long wigs and terrible stick on beards. The one who sees the one who reports them is Mad Thomas aka Tommy from the last movie. He is the strangest haircut. He does and he reminds me of the boy from
Starting point is 00:15:06 the Twilight movies. Yeah he has similar like high cheekbones and sort of beedy eyes. It's like in this movie he's the greasy Twilight Boy. Yeah I referred to it. He's just damp all the time. How could you not be though? Like in that time period, I like, I hate being muddy. Yeah, oh no. I'm such a fucking like lightweight life. Like I don't want to be sweaty, I don't want to any muddy. This is why when the apocalypse comes, you and I, we're done so. But his haircut, it's like long at the chin and then short in the back,
Starting point is 00:15:41 like, allip. I feel like th, like, like, like, like, th, like, like, th, th, th, like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. I thi. Like, thi. I thi. Like, thi. Like, thi. Like almost like he's gonna ask to speak to your manager. I feel like I had that haircut in like, you know, 2002. He's either gonna speak to your manager or he is a replacement basis in silver chair. Yes. Yes. Oh, silver chair. Six silver chair reference me. I just, frog stomp, you know? It just. Whoa, even sicker silverchair reference. Dude I was like 11 when that record came out it was perfect for me. Oh yeah because it was like kids bop Nirvana. Sarah punches some dude with a big old bone dog is a note that I have. Punching a man with a boner is just super funny to me. Only talked by punching him in the boner.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Yeah, oh god, yeah. Do you think he was like, could we make it a little bit bigger? Yes, a little bit bigger? I do. I think he was in the props department and they were like, okay, here's your boner. And he was like, hmm, and they were sticking another one on the end of it. The next morning we see her being hungover doing farm work, which just seems fucking wretched.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Like I have a hard time being hungover at my desk. Yeah. Yeah. And immediately, father's like, hey, Thomas is talking about you doing weird stuff. What's going on? I don't like you anymore. He does flip that switch quickly. He's like your mom would have done a better job than I did, but I didn't, so go to hell. Yeah. What? I loved all of the food rotting? Yes, me too. I did not love her picking it all up because who the fuck picks up rotten fruit? You can tell it's rotten from just looking at it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That one dude, I think it was Simon is eating an apple.
Starting point is 00:17:27 And when he bites into it, it's like electric blue inside. And I was like, I kind of want to eat that now. I'm what I'm going to know what that task like. What is your deal? that doesn't exist in nature. Again, it will be so easy to poison me because you're like, oh, it's a donut, yes it is, let me see that. It has like a skull and crossbones on it, and you're like, that's jaunty. Look at that drippy skull apple, this witch is handing me. Did you like the tiny door in Sarah's house?
Starting point is 00:18:03 Oh yeah, there was Satan was in it, I guess. Or the dog? I couldn't figure a one. Yeah, Mary boy. I knew you liked Mary boy and I knew Maryboy wasn't going to make it. No. No. Marybubly tried to live at the bottom of the will, I think,
Starting point is 00:18:16 which is not a good place for a dog. So, Hannah shows up and says that something's wrong with her father, the pastor, and she says that it's as if something crawled in the night and put on father's skin, which I think is such a good turn of phrase. I loved that. Sarah axes the pig a question because it eats all its babies. Oh man, that's a lot of baby pigs to eat. Like you'd have to be pretty hungry. It is, it was like six six the pig the pig pig pig pig pig pig pig pig baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby baby that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. That's. That's. that's. that's. That's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a th. th. that's a th. that's a that's a that's a that's a to that's a that's that's that's to to that's to be pretty hungry. That's a lot of baby pig. It is, it was like six of them because she's given one to Solomon. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Six baby pigs, that's a lot of baby pigs. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, we forgot to mention that Hannah's dad is also very mumbly now. He got the mumbles. Yeah, what is that about? I don't know. Oh, Hannah, Hannah. H Hannah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Or maybe he always was, I'm not sure. Yeah, yeah, his affect is gone.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Oh yeah, Hannah's dad, the pastor is being very mumbly and very weird. I like it. Josh throws up, Henry, his name's Henry in this? Yeah. When she acts is the, um, yeah. And I thought Alan's probably mad about that because he's showing up. They don't don't don't don't don't they don't they don't th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. the the the. tho throw throw throw throw throw throw throwed throwed throwing throwing thoom. thoom. thoom. thoom. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tha. tha. tha. thou. tha. thea. thea. tha. tooooooooooooooooooooooo. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. that because he's showing them throwing up. They don't need to show it. We can just hear it off screen. I feel like people don't throw up enough when they throw up in movies.
Starting point is 00:19:31 It's true. That's just a little bit of nothing. It's only what you could hold in your mouth. This is the problem. If I were an actor, I would just throw up. I would just do it for you. I would throw up a whole thing. I would do it. For the audience at home, she splayed her hands, like a cornucopia has been offered. I will vomit a cornucopia for you.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Here's this buffet that I'm offering you. Just saying. Solomon comes over. And Sarah's like, hey, I gotta break this down for you. Yeah. Let me tell you what's going on. I think I cursed the town because I made out with this girl that I like. All you did was touch a boob. It was just a dalliance, which is a word that we should be using way more. Beautiful word. Yes. They also used the word anathema and I was like, fuck why don't we use anatham thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia da thia da thia da th. Dial da thia da. Dial da. Dial da. Dial d'a. D'a. D'a. D'a. D'a. D'a. D'a. tha. thal. thal. thalien-a, th-I's, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. t. te. S. S. S. S. S. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. I. Sa. Sa. I. I's. Sa. Sa. S. Sa. S. I. I. They also use the word anathema in this and I was like, fuck, why don't we use anathema more? I don't know that. Dalliance is a word that I feel like you could easily start slipping into conversations.
Starting point is 00:20:31 But if you were using anathema, people would be like, what a smug son of a bitch. You know what I mean? I had a mere Del, or a mere donut? No, there you go. It wasn't a mere dallian's. I think I love her. Yeah. And he's like, oh do you? Oh do you love her? Okay. He seems okay about it.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Yeah, but you can tell he wasn't. Yeah. Which one? Well at first you are to believe that he loves her and he has lost his wife and child. Right. And so he wants to marry her. Yeah. And he finds out she's gay and that's a big bummer. Sure. Yeah. For him. Right. Right. Right. Right. So then they're told that Pastor Miller has taken a bunch of children into the church. Yeah. This is fucked. And when they burst into the church, Solomon finds a pile of eyeballs. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:21:37 And isn't like, whoa. It's like, okay, pile of eyeballs, I'll just keep walking. Here's a thing that bothers me in movies, and I know they have to do this to build tension, but like Solomon opens the door of the church, and all of the children are sitting very still with their backstam in the pews. Some are slumped, some are leaned, like propped up on each other, and the pastor standing at the front of the church, and to, and to, and to, and th, and, and, and, and, so, and, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, like, so, so, so, like, like, so, like, so, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, so. And, so. So. So. So. So. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so. So, so. So, so. So, like, like, like, like, like, like And Solomon takes like, I don't know, three and a half minutes to get up to that pile of eyeballs. Like, how would you not just burst in and be like, what the fuck? Because you gotta build the tension of him,
Starting point is 00:22:11 of the pastor, slapping that hook against the podium. That's so good though. I thought that tapping was great. Yeah. So, the children, there's a pile of eyeballs, and then we see Pastor Miller and his eyes are gone, but he's still alive. Yeah. Tap in the hook and mumbling. And then we see the children who are all dead.
Starting point is 00:22:35 All of their eyes have been ripped out. Including Josh! Including Josh. their today. . How dare you kill old time, yeah. Don't do Josh like this. They done Josh journey. How dare you kill old-time Josh? He's the star of this movie. It's true. Then they do the kids and body bags shot again, which they did at the end of the second movie, which really fucks with me. I hate that. But they were old-timey body bags if that helps. Yeah, it does.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Yeah, it does. But it's almost the same shot of them them them them them them them them them them them the the the the their their the almost the same shot of them all like lined up covered it. Yeah. Yeah. And then you get the kids being like, hey we were just Applejack drinking? Yeah. We were just drinking Applejack? Yeah. Oh man.
Starting point is 00:23:15 There's like, yeah. There's a town hall to discuss, um, I don't know. Yeah, yeah. Oh, and Mary Boy was at the bottom of the well. And just like other stuff is bad, right? Yeah, yeah. I mean, yeah, well having your food supply and water supply go to rot is pretty bad. That's not great. No, not a good, not a good look. No. I forgot that the town was called Union. Yep. Um, because they're not, they're no longer united. They were Union and now they're Sunnyvale and Shadyside. Oh. It seems like Union would be the name that you would come up with when you combined rather
Starting point is 00:23:53 than when you, before you split. Sure, sure. Mm-hmm. Anyway, whatever. So Solomon's the only voice of reason at this town hall. Everyone else was like, oh, it's witchthe only voice of reason at this town hall. Everyone else was like, oh, it's witchcraft, it's witches, and he's like, is it though? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:09 And then the Boner boy accuses Hannah and Sarah of being the cause of this, because they didn't touch his boner, I guess. And beat him up about his boner. And then all of the other men in the town are like, oh yeah, yeah, I saw them laying with the devil too. Yeah. Fuck off. God, fucking men. That is what happened in the Salem witch trials is that everyone was like, yeah, I saw it too. I want to be cool. Why are old-timing people basically middle schoolers?
Starting point is 00:24:39 I think it was because life was horrifically boring and heart. Yeah, you didn't have Netflix. You didn't have Netflix? You had nothing like, hey, you got some downtime, read the Bible and it'll tell you why you're bad. Yeah, right, you don't even have like another cool book to read. Yeah. Yeah, you probably can't even draw because that's not for God. Right, exactly.
Starting point is 00:24:58 Oh, fuck turns out religious cellatry sucks. Yeah. Sorry to all our old time you listeners listening. Yeah, sorry to all of our Puritans out there. We don't like your lifestyle. We like everyone else's but yours. No White Supremacists, no Puritans. Goodie wife 420 is gonna leave us a bad review. What does Goodie mean? Where does that come from? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:26 I thought about that in this one because the pastor's wife is Goody, whatever a lot, Miller. And I thought, what does that mean? What does that mean? And what's the etymology of that? I don't know. I'll look a good nickname. No? Well Peggy, that's all right. Piggi. What about you? Any of ever had a good nickname? No, no. My mother put down a decree when I was born that I would never have a nickname because both my father and grandfather's,
Starting point is 00:26:00 grandfather had nicknames and they're both named Alan, my name. What is your dad's name? He has three. Oh, Hoppy, th. Hoppppy, th. Hoppy, th. Hoppy, th. Hoppy, th. Oh. H. H. H. H. H. H. H. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, th. Well, thi. Well, th. P. Well, th. Well, th. Well, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that. P, th. P, th. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. P. Paggi. P. P. Paggi. P. Paggi. P. Paggi. Paggi. Paggi. Pagg. P. P. P. P. P. P named Alan, my name. What is your dad's name? He has three. Hoppy, Whitey, and Hitch. Whitie? Whitey? Because he had a white hair when he started working. Yeah, and my grandfather is Hitch. Hitch, is Hitch. Hitch. You're gonna cut all that because it's got your last name in it? No, it doesn't them a full last name. I think they can guess. Yeah, I they're I they're I they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're th. I th. I they're th. I th. I've thi. I'm th. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. Yeah. I'm th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think they can guess. Yeah, I mean they can figure it out if they really care. Because your father was Alfred Hitchcock. Mm-hmm. Anyway, anyway, they start a literal witch hunt. Yeah, they get Hannah right away. Yeah, and Sarah escapes, and there's a bit of like a chase scene around town. For sure. And they they tie Hannah up to the well or chain her to the well. Yeah, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah??? their to to to to to to to their their their their to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thea. thea. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. thea. thea. thea. they they tie Hannah up to the well, or chain her to the well, I suppose. So sad. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Oh yeah, I'm, I'm livid at this point because I was like, all they wanted to do is make out. What are you people doing? Yeah, yeah. Consensual boob touching? You want to touch a boob and someone wants you to touch their boob? Touch their boob. Yeah, touch their boob. Yeah, touch the boob. Touch the boob. So, Sarah's like, well, if they already think I'm a witch, I might as well go become one. Which is a great idea. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. th. thu. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. thus. th. th. thus. thus. th. th. th. th. th. to say. to say. to say. Ss. So, Sarah. So, Sarah. So, so s says. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, so. So, th. So, th. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. Sa. understand why she's so pissed off and fuck this town forever. Seriously, strong agree. So she goes to see the Widow Mary who's been murdered. Poor Widow Mary. And her book's been
Starting point is 00:27:34 stole. Right. And then she climb, climbs into the cave system? Well so Solomon finds her there I think? Okay. Solomon finds her there, I think. Okay. Because we think he's helping her. Mm-hmm. In which point I was like, oh, it's definitely him. Oh, for sure. And it was.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yeah. So, yes, she goes down into the cave. And he talks about how he was tirears her down there. And he talks about how he was he he he he was he was he was he was he was he was thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to to to to thi watching Fortune turn a blind eye to him, and so he decided to make this pact with the devil. And he says, one person every few years is a small price to pay. And she's like, dude, he killed 12 children. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Yeah. Yeah. So this is where I have a note that I'd on board to a point. You're on board with libertarianism to a point? What is the point where libertarianism stops for you? So like legalize all drugs, legalize prostitution. Okay. Let people do what they want that isn't harming other people. Victimless crimes? Yes. Okay. Like peeing in pools. Yeah, exactly. Stop arresting people for being in pools. It's a victimless crime. And but then they're like, oh but you can't have abortions and you have to be, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Like, so as soon as it, we're not going to pave the fucking roads. Exactly. So like, movie Satanism is like, dude, these rules suck. Why, you should be able to do what you want as long as you're not harming people and then movie Satanists are like but actually I'm gonna harm people. So is that okay? Can I harm people? Well isn't that the point of Satanism though where it's like Satan needs you to harm people to continue to have your power? Well it depends. So like modern-day Satanism is just basically against Christian rule. It's like secular humanism? Basically, okay. Yeah, like, I think it's the Church of Satan
Starting point is 00:29:32 has like listed abortion as one of their religious rights to protect abortion as a religious thing that people should be able to do. Okay. And they're like anti-racist and they're anti-like transphobia and homophobia and like they're so like they're super lefty and but it's basically standing against Christian rule of America. It's just basically turning it on its right. And it's like it's like having this like a situation is data is like take on it whether it's like a bit of like theatrics to what you're doing. Sure. Sure. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. And. And. And it. And it's. But. And it's. But. But. But. But. But. But. the movie. But. the movie. But. But. the movie. But. But. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. It's, it's, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, they, they're, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they. And, they. And, they. So, they's, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, like, they're. So, like, like, like, like, like, like a bit of like theatrics to what you're doing. Sure, sure. Okay. But yeah movie Satanism was always like, oh man we shouldn't be oppressed by this stuff and I have to murder people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Is that okay? Can I murder people? Well I'm gonna have to so buckle up. So she stabbed Solomon. Which is so dumb because she should have used Solomon to help her get out. Be like I'll keep your secret, just get me out of here. Because what difference, you know, and then she could, I don't know, figured something out. I do like that she's a badass though, unwilling to stab people. I mean, that's great. Yeah. That doesn't work out for her.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Well, he does hit her with a rock. And like, where was he's Satan when she stabbed him? but yeah yeah and we see the cave pulsating blob again which I liked and then we see the real way that she lost her hand yeah which is that he basically cuts and breaks and rips it off yeah her hand ripping off it's like extremely mortal combat mm-hmm you didn't like it I hope that my hand is made of sterner stuff and stays a little better because her hand came off so easily. I think basically it was like her bones were all disconnected but the skin was still connected and the skin was like just silly putty I don't know just ripping into strings. Or like the bread that you get at Ethiopian food?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Ooh yeah. Oh I love that stuff. Me too.? Ooh, yeah. Ooh, I love that stuff. Me too. It's so good. Now I'm going to think about severed hands every time I eat it, so thanks for that. Oh, so she starts to climb out. Oh, this is when she gets her hand ripped off. Yeah. Because she's climb out. Oh, that's right. That's the body. That's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the body. that's the body. that's that's the body. that's the body. the the that's the out. thoom! Oh. thoomom! Oh. that's thoomoom! Oh. Oh, thoomoomoomoom! Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. thoom. thoom. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, thooooooooo. Oh, thoooooooooo. Oh, thoooooooooooo. Oh, tho. Oh, tho. Oh, th like, oh, he found that hole to get out of, which will in the future be covered in shit. Covered in shit.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Oh, that's right. That's the Portipody. Yeah. Or the outhouse, yeah. Which should have been a Portipot, because it was 1978. But go on. So she loses her hand, crawls away, and starts kicking her way out of the cave system. Yes. And she comes out into the square into into into into into into into into into into into into into into into into into the square into the square into the square into the square into the s s s s s s s. the s. the s. the s. the to to the to the to to the to to the to to to to to to be coes. to be. to be coes. to be coes. to be coes. to be coomchoom. to be coom. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I toomea. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. to. too. to. to. I. I. I'm. I. I. I'm. Yes. And she's in the church. Yes. And she comes out into the square covered in blood and Solomon's like, hey I got her, I found the witch. Yeah, he's a real dick. He's not a good dude. Really a dick. Yeah. She ends up confessing to save Hannah, which is heartbreaking. Yes. Yeah. And they hang her. They do. Yeah. So the Fear Street books, there are a million of them of all different like, you know, kids meeting ghosts and ghosts meeting kids, you know, whatever. And I guess these were based on a specific series of books. Which I don't know if I read or not,
Starting point is 00:32:38 but I remember very, very vividly sitting in like my sixth grade silent, sustained reading period, reading one of the Fear Street books in which a witch is hanged, or a witch, I'm doing which, finger quotes, and like the way it was described in the book is exactly how it was shot in the scene. And I thought, holy shit, that really stuck with me. So you must have read this serious, then? I don't think so. I don't know. No, none of of of of of of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the rest of the the the the the the the the the the the the f the f the fear the fear the f fear the f fear the f fear the f fear the f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f the f the f the f the f the f the f the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thii. thea. the the me. So you must have read this serious then. I don't think so, I don't know. None of the rest of it sounds familiar, frankly. Maybe Arl Stein just had a certain style
Starting point is 00:33:12 that he liked to hang witches. I guess so. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised. Yeah, for sure. He's knocking out so many of these. He's just like cut, paste, the the witch, witch, witch, witch, witch, witch, witch, witch, the the wa, the the the the, the, the, the, the, th, th, th, th, title card on the screen. Fear Street, 1994, Part 2. Love it. I loved that.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Yeah, he's clever. So now I'm just referring to Dina as Sarah. I've stopped referring to She grabs Josh and they run off to the woods. Right. She says, good is evil. Good work George Orwell. The cop shows up. Oh, that's right, because the cop shows up is questioning Josh. She grabs Josh, they run off the woods.
Starting point is 00:33:54 The cop slo chases them into the woods. And then they steal the cop car? Yeah. Had their car broken down? I can't remember from the last movie, from the first movie, one of the movies. No, I don't know. Yeah. I mean, they had to get there somehow. Yeah. And he's also like, oh, no, my car's gone. Why don't you just take theirs? So, okay, a couple things here. We see this sort of flashback of all of the Nick Goods throughout time. So silly.
Starting point is 00:34:26 So they're all adult Nick Good, except for when we see the child Nick Good. Why did he have to do it as a child when the rest of them are like young, middle-aged men? Oh, because he was the one, oh, yeah. Yeah, I don't know, but it's setting up, I like that reveal, this is another one of the reveals, that he set up that whole fucking thing at the camp in motion. I was like, that's fucked. Because he just goes, Thomas Slater.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Yeah. He seemed like such a good guy. Yeah. But did he have genuine love for the girl from Stranger things? And that's why he saved her? I want to say yes, but I'm not sure. Yeah, I don't know either. Because later when he sees her, adult her, in the mall, there seems to be something where he's still feeling her. And earlier in the series, didn't he like leave a note under her door that said it's happening again? Yes. Was that just to keep her indoors? I guess. It doesn't seem like she was going anywhere? Yeah, no. No. She had to settle to s to s to s to s to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the to the the the to s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s s the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thea thoesea. I thoooooa. Ia. Ia. I thea. Ia. I thea. I thea. I thea. I their their their their their their to keep her indoors? I guess. Doesn't seem like she was going anywhere.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Yeah, no. No, she had to settle those clocks. Okay, now I have a question. Yeah. What is wrong with Sam again? Oh, she's possessed? By whom? By the, yeah, her name was ran on the wall.
Starting point is 00:35:37 But no, it wasn't. Was it? Yeah. She became, the the the the the the end of the first movie. She stabs Dina. Yes, but why? Because Nick Good turned her against... Okay. Oh, okay, okay. Yeah, so I love this reveal of like, as we see all the goods throughout history, that it's
Starting point is 00:35:54 never been the witch. She's always been trying to help. Right. So the flashbacks that she shows to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people to people the the to people the the them is actually Nick Good. The flashbacks are for the witch but the marking is from Nick Good. Right. And whatever Solomon Good or Ricky Good or Billy Bob Good. There never was a witch. Right. There was just a woman who was done dirty by fucking redonculus sad people. Yeah. K1? Remember K1? Yeah. It was in like every single, there were like three samples of it in every single teen magazine at this time.
Starting point is 00:36:33 I have never heard it described as a scent better than the way Josh does it. You smell like an androgynous baby. 100%! So, she's trying to mask her scent with the disgusting smell of K-1. Which is just very funny for people my age anyway, I think, yeah. I think if it was people my age, she would have done it with dracar noir. Rekar nighar. Night sweats. Never mind. Good thing they preserve that tree in the mall though. Of course. So the peoplethey preserve that tree in the mall though. Of course. So
Starting point is 00:37:06 the people could have trauma saying it. So Dina gives this speech about how we're the weirdos and we're pushing back against people who hate the weirdos and we're going to fight this and I shed a little tear during the speech. Yeah. Because I've always, you know, felt like one of the weirdos. Really? And always felt like, especially when as a teenager, felt like totally outcast by society. Absolutely. So like having the idea that like, you know, your friend groups that you find at that age are your salvation from that stuff, hopefully. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:54 So it was really beautiful. It was. It was. And then she cut her hand. Mm-hmm. Why do people always cut their hands when they need blood? I would give myself a little knee scrape. But you got to run later.
Starting point is 00:38:06 But you need a hand. Why not just like even just on your like forearm or something? People always cut their stupid hands. It's where you cut. I think I would actually, you know what I would do, I'd blade my forehead because you're going to get a lot of blood and it's not going to hurt that bad. But that's your that's your wrestling love coming through there. But it's 1994 I bet Dean has seen our summer slam or two. Well that's why you're always wearing that headband with a razor blade up underneath the medication need to cut your eyebrow. You never know when you're gonna have to blade.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Sometimes you got a leak. It's true. I told you about my friend who was a professional wrestler and he had from doing that he had a weak spot in his forehead. Oh yeah. And he sang for a band and he would hit himself in the head and he would just start bleeding. Oh my god. Yeah, his skin was so thin. So when Dina cuts her hand and they get some blood that they mix with like black light paint, so they can see what they're doing, the song come out and play by their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, and thi, and thi, and thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. And, thi, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And song come out and play by the offspring is playing.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Did you think I liked that? I did. Did you know I was in a band that would cover that song? No. The hips. That was the only band I was ever in with Rob. Oh, I didn't know you guys were in a band together. Yeah, it was a shit band.
Starting point is 00:39:21 I know that Rob has an affinity that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that thue that that album. You don't say. Do you expect me to have a note that says, oh fuck the offspring? I did. I mean, I figured you wouldn't need to write it down because you'd remember, but I don't know, a smash is fine. Yeah, I think it was just because they were on like punk compilations that I had before they broke yeah and then when they signed on a major I was 21 sure I was like fuck the solos it's fine that pretty fly for a white guy songs
Starting point is 00:39:54 real stupid oh my god why did they make that I don't know although I did just watch that Woodstock 99 documentary that's on HBO oh yeah yeah it's worth a watch if you want to be reminded of how shit the 90s were. No, they were great apparently. But like the offspring one of the few bands that were like, hey, can you stop grabbing women? Can you stop doing that? I'm glad the offspring is nice.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Yeah. Noodles. Noodles. What are we just recently talking talking talking talking talking talking the thing thing thing their thing thing thing thing their thing thing thing thing thing thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thoes. thi thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be the the the the the their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. toooooooooooooooooooo. toe. toe fuck was our guitar players name? Noodles. Why are we just recently talking about the offspring? What movie were they in where the singer's head blew up? Oh, you talking about idle hands? I am. They were playing at the school dance. Oh, fuck.
Starting point is 00:40:34 Yes. Actually, no, not fuck the offspring. The offspring is cool. So yeah, they're spraying, they got super soakers, very of 1994 as well, and they're spraying her blood mixed with paint all over the floor to lead the killers around. Right. And I was like, how much blood does there have to be? It feels diluted. Yeah. So then there's a weird like romantic meeting in the mall between Nick Good and C. Berman.
Starting point is 00:41:12 And the lighting is so strange. It almost looks like you're looking at like one of the red and blue 3D drawings without the glasses on. And I don't know why that's happening. It's a weird lighting. Yeah, I think it's th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi thi, theat, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, the, the. the, th, th, th, th, th, th, th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is thi. And I thi. And I thi. And I thi. And I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi theeeei thea thea thea thea theiiiiiiiiiiiiiii theeeeate think it's just supposed to be the black light and then mood lighting. I guess. It made my eyes feel weird. So she's like, earlier she's like, we're gonna carry him. And they do. They dump a bucket of blood on him. Yep. And black light pink. Yep. And it's great. So they then they spray, they've like locked them.
Starting point is 00:41:46 They've gotten Martin, the janitor from the mall involved in this. I don't know why he signs on for this, but he does. He has my favorite line in the movie. What? Hey Martin, do you want to help us kill Nick Coa Sheriff Good? Let me get my coat. Josh is the coolest of though. Of course if Josh shows up he's like hey do this and you're like let me get my coat. Fuck yeah I get my coat. Grab my purse let's go. I like that Martin's here though because he's really great comedic relief. Yeah and a very he's just like this is a bit of a like okay here we go. Here we go you know. Yeah so they've locked the monsters into the mall stores using those like mall store cages, the doors, gates, I guess.
Starting point is 00:42:29 And then they let them all out and then they spray them with blood. Yeah. And then they kill each other. Yeah. Which is great. Except then they just like come back together. For sure. Yeah just wanted his backstory. I just wanted to know more about Billy Barker.
Starting point is 00:42:49 I assume he's going to be one of the next movies that are coming out. I really hope so. Yeah. I need to see that child beating someone to death with a stick. Poor kid just never gets his do. Things I need to see. Yeah. Like I get it. Ruby Lane is singing the song. She's got a little skirt on.
Starting point is 00:43:08 Fine. Show me this child beating someone to death with a stick and why? I just keep thinking about Simon being willing to die because she's sexy. She's sexy. Maybe that's what we were annoyed with him because he's mad stupid. He's mad stupid, maybe that's what. So, Dina's like running through the back hallways of the mall. That's so creepy, back hallways of malls are so weird. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's one of the thing I loved working at a mall because you got to see all the back hallways. I never had a
Starting point is 00:43:35 mall job. Oh, well, still time. Uh, well still time. I don't work at Auntie Anne's. I think I'd be great at flipping those pretzels around. I'll dust them up with that cinnamon and sugar? Oh my god, anti-ans. How are you so good? Because it's cinnamon and sugar. And butter.
Starting point is 00:43:57 I just used to love watching them like flip the pretzels. Yeah. I would stand there with my grandfather for like an hour and watch it. That's fucked up. Sadd. I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's. It's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's. It's. It's. It gets stabbed or shot and she's wearing a bunch of R.L. Stein books to protect herself. A vest of paperbacks. Yeah he said she stabbed in the eye the killers all disappear. And in the and then we see like in the cave system the like pulsating blob and the insignia what's not in Sigil, all just sort of like disappearing? Yeah. Like there goes your evidence, like Satan cleans up pretty quickly.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Yeah, this is again the problem of like, you got a dead cop and three black people? Yeah. This is a problem. And then we see like this news report where it's like, Sheriff Good was a serial killer and it's like, and how? But I guess the movie has to gloss over that. Like you cannot explain that. But before that, we see them, they sort of emerge into a wealthy person's house. I don't know whose house that was.
Starting point is 00:45:15 Nick Good. Oh, okay. So they walk out the front door and then the mayor gets hit by a car, his brother? So funny. That is so funny. Listen if you go to someone's house this is just a word to the wise and they have their only home decor is stuffed rams and those positive thinking posters that say like courage you're in the house of a fucking murderer. Yeah. It'sthe house of a fucking murderer. Yeah, it's an IKEA catalog with inspirational posters and taxidermied rams.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Where did you get the rams? Like, if they have just the rams, they might be cool, you might be all right, the motivational posters? Mm-mm. In your home? No, that's cheesy. It's just, it's creepy. It's scary. What about Live Love? I mean, sure. Who doesn't? What about eat in your kitchen? I really want one of those signs that just say shit above my toilet. I would have said it says eat in your kitchen. Do you have the note, of course it had to end with the pixies. I didn't, but I loved it. I. I. I. I. I. I. th. th. th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th to thi, it's thi, it, to to to to to to to to to to th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. Starting point is 00:46:27 I didn't but I loved it. I love gigantic so much. Oh yeah. And then I loved that they switched to what is it, Mr. Greaves. Yeah. Oh God, I love the pixies. And I was like, cool? you did a deep cut? You didn't just go with where is my mind? I appreciate that? Fuck you, fight club. Oh for sure. And th. And th. And th, and th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi, thi. I ththat. Fuck you fight club. Oh for sure, for sure. And then during the credits we get these scenes of something going through the cave system. Yes. That snatches the witch book, the end. So I guess it's gonna keep going. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Da da da da da da da da da. Oh and Josh meets a nerdy girl. He meets the queen from the first movie, the woman who he was communicating with.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Oh my god, you're right! Queen of dragons or whatever it was. Yeah, it's the nerd from the beginning of the movies. That's right. Oh, that's lovely. Although she writes, that queen of whatever, and it's like, ma'am, you know that that at did not exist back then. Hashtag. Katie.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Alan. Tell me all your thoughts on God. Because I really like to meet her. And review this movie. Why was there no dishwala in this film? It's going to get a point off for that. I liked it. I liked it less than the other that. I liked it. I liked it. I liked it. I liked it less than the
Starting point is 00:47:46 other two. Were you surprised that it was Nick Good? Uh, no. I assumed that he was going to be tied up in this somehow. He was just too present. It was just, yeah. He was like, because, I remember discussing the first, when we discussed the first movie, we were like, why is he not helping her? Why is he not listening to her? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then he seems so nice in the flashback movie, so I guess it is, you know. But it's also great because you're like,
Starting point is 00:48:12 oh, well, he's the police. Of course, he's not listening or help. Hell Hells LLC problem where the third movie was utter trash and I still gave it an okay score because I loved the series so much where this movie is absolutely not utter trash but it's gonna it's not as good as the first two. Okay. And it's gonna get a higher score from me because I really enjoyed this trilogy. Yeah. Like this has been one of the things that has given me a lot of joy over the last six weeks weeks. I'm gonna give it a seven. Okay. I think it's a satisfying end. But there are points where you're like, wait, who is, wait, why is?
Starting point is 00:48:51 And then it just feels like there's a bit of hand waving of like, sure. None of this is, yeah, I don't know. What do you think? Uh, I loved it. Did you? Yeah, I love the series. I'm with you on that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. I, thi. I'm, thi. We, thi. We're, thi, thi, thi, thi, the series. I'm with you on that. Like this was this was an absolute delight. I think me thinking of this as being YA in my head. Yeah. It gives a lot of that handwavy stuff a pass. And I like I keep thinking about like teens, like,
Starting point is 00:49:20 sneaky teens watching this movie because it's on Netflix so like it's not going to be parentally controlled or whatever sure so you watch rated-R movie you see some some teens making out and you're like oh I'm horned dog for that and that guy's got a boner and you giggle at that because boners are hilarious fucking so funny and you also like and you also get this like super positive message of like you're the weirdo you're the weird. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. And the th. And th. And th. And the th. And th. Like the th. Like the th. Like th. Like th. Like the th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like the the thi. And also like the whole like Love is Love thing is really nice too. Being your goddamn self.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Strong female characters is a delight. Definitely. Especially in horror movies that are set in these time periods. Right. So I'm gonna give it an eight. We loved this, huh? We did. Yeah, I'm happy. Can I give a quick shout out to two new patrons that we've gotten recently? I would love it if you did that. Thank you to Rowan. Hi Rowan. And to Stromf Nuar.
Starting point is 00:50:19 They're reason, they gave us no messages just their names. Oh, hey guys. Thank you to know each other. We should introduce. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Starting point is 00:50:34 Oh, we should have a meetup, just for them. We should have a matchmaking service that we do. Emt's a thi. EMTs after dark? Yes, oh my god. This is how we start our cult, like the Freemasons. First of all, we give them a secret password, and then we start controlling their lives. Just two people rolling up to each other and going, being fun is better than knowing things. I love that. And the reply is close enough, Lucio. Perfect. That's perfect. That, close enough, Luccio. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:51:07 That's perfect. Write it down, everyone. You don't even have to do, it's just our t-shirts. Close enough, Luccio. Katie, what are we doing to these people next? See, here's a thing, you told me about it. And then you want me to tell them about it, and that means I have to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find to find my to find my to find my to find my notes my my notes my my my my my my my my my notes my my notes my my notes to find my notes to find my notes to find my to find my notes to find my notes to find my notes to find my notes to find my notes my notes my notes my notes to find my notes to find my to find my to find my to find my to find my my to find my to find my to find my to find to find my to find my to find to find my to find to find to find my notes to find my notes to find my notes my notes to find my notes app to find my notes app to find my notes app the notes app to these people next. See, here's the thing, you told me about it, and then you want me to tell them about it, and then that means I have to find my notes app on my phone or I wrote down the movies for next week. That we are doing a film suggested by great friend of the podcast and designer of all around Blood Red Sky. Wait, it's Justin Gray. I forgot it. All around Cool Guy, Justin Gray.
Starting point is 00:51:45 Blood Red Sky. Yeah. I don't know anything about it. All I know is it's vampires on a plane. Uh, all I know is it's vampires on a plane. And when he explained it was like, that can't be good. There's no way that's good. That happens in Dracula 2000. Remember? Vampires on a plane? I'm standing by it. It can't be good. thirty. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. theeeeea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. theea. thea. the. the. the. th there you have it. The only the silver stone years or whatever. Theme song from Armageddon. I do not like it. It's a movie about a giant lizard, right, Armageddon? I have never seen Armageddon, but I'm going to assume that it is. Is Ben Affleck in it?
Starting point is 00:52:53 He is. He is. He is. We are rewriting Armaged as Armageddon with Ben Affleck as the real, just no makeup or anything, just a giant Ben Flic stuffing on everything. Trying not to dump Dunkin' Donuts coffee on everything. To be fair, we're sitting here with a two, with a one-third eaten box of Dunkin' Donuts between us because Patty cakes closed on Sundays.
