Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi Alan. Hi Katie. Can I hold on the church one second? Oh, can I hold? Can you hold on the church one second? Because I've got a... Uh... Welcome back. Is this the Welcome Back? Is this the Welcome Back Cotter song or the Mace sampling of it? Uh, Dealer's Choice. Yeah, Mase, Obs. Even though he mumbles too much.
Starting point is 00:00:37 What are you saying, Mace? Remember when he came back and everyone went, okay? That whole th Welcome Back, is about how he like used to drink and now he doesn't. Yeah, it's just not, it's real wholesome. He's so Jesusy. Yeah. And then he tried not to be, and then he went back. Really? I believe he went back to the Lord. I didn't know that he stopped being part of the block. Well, that was my joke. because he came back and everyone went, okay. Yeah. Bye. Bye. We don't even really care about Diddy anymore, buddy, so you've got to go. He's got other things.
Starting point is 00:01:09 He has like pants and things like that. Pants? I mean, isn't that what he's made his fortune on? Large pants. I just figured like Hager slacks. Yeah, the pleaded, the pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded, pleaded glet, pleaded glet, pleaded glet, pleaded glet, pleaded gul. Oh no, I'm foaming! Uh-oh. I'm not. I'm going to drink mine anyway. We're drinking big old Bud Light Limes. The Magnums.
Starting point is 00:01:29 We have them in a regular-sized cancousies. Oh boy, that's sweet. It's been a while since I had one. I almost bought us Limearita's. Oh, I love a Limearita. They're great until they start getting warm near the bottom of the 20 ounce can. You're like, oh, no, no, no, no. Gotta keep them on ice. But I have Limerita Popsicles that I'll bring for next.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Oh, I love it. Real quick at the beginning here, Katie, before we get into this delightful film. You mean after we spend two minutes talking about literally nothing? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. This show is a show is a a a the interwebs and reached out and sent condones cards to my home. Oh my gosh. So sweet everyone was so kind after the passing of my mother. Yeah, it's real crap. I didn't know if you were reading the comments in real time or anything like that, so I read them all for you and like had to take breaks. You guys are the nicest. It was, yeah. I have, uh, just, uh, just, uh, being so loved, being so loved, like really helps deal with all of this shit.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Well, yeah. And my friends and then you all who are my friends as well. Just friends I haven't met yet. But you listen to me a lot and Katie. And we laugh too much and it's just too, too bad. Even that guy, even the guy who left the comment or the review, please stop laughing. You go fuck yourself! You're the one crying on a podcast and he's the joyless motherfucker, I tell you. Please stop laughing. No! No!
Starting point is 00:03:19 Here's the thing, we're very funny. Yeah, why would we not laugh at each other? We're delightful and we enjoy each other's company. And we're drinking Bud Light Limes, which makes everything just like infinitely funnier. With Stephen Weber staring at me with very dark eye makeup on Justin Gray's birthday. Oh, I love the design that Justin Gray. Happy birthday, Justin. Oh, what a good guy. The absolute best. Love him so much. Yeah. But yeah, so thank you everyone. Let's get on with the funniest. We want to do an episode about a movie about motherhood? On a plane. Or do you want to do next week's episode, a movie about motherhood? On a plane? Why? It's been so long since we picked these movies to do this airplane rock block, then I don't remember why we picked them?
Starting point is 00:04:11 It was just an idea that I got that I thought would be fun. Okay, well ill-timed, but here we are. Who could predict the future? So we're today we're going to be talking about, as you know from you downloaded this podcast, Blood Red Sky 2021. A Netflix original. Oh gee, original. When you describe this to me as vampires on a plane, I thought it was going to be much worse than it is. Sure, for sure. You definitely thought that you were going to get sick of these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking vampire plane. A film I've
Starting point is 00:04:47 never seen but really ought to. We should add it to the list of films. It's a horror movie, right? Who can say? I don't know? I don't know. I've never seen it. Right out of the gate I'd like to bring up something that I wish the people who made Blood Red Sky had gotten in touch with us before they named the movie. Yeah. Missed Opportunity? Mom's Ferratu. Right? Yeah, that's got to be in the public domain. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Yeah. I did a quick Google search. Nothing is called Mom's Foratoo. Treadmark, trademark, copyright. Because now we're making that movie. I only refer to her as mom's ferratu through the entire movie. She, I really thought she looked great. Fantastic. Yeah. I was expecting so little from this.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Eightball, not as much great, but she looks fantastic. Strong disagree. Yeah, I thought he looked great. Okay, let's get into this with the warnings at the top, which have two of my favorite things, which which which which which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, to, to, to, to, too, too at the top, which have two of my favorite things, which are gore and smoking. If there was a, these are a few of my favorite things song written about me. Gore and smoking around there.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Gore and smoking. I like them both a lot. So yes, this is a plane movie. A plane, an airplane movie. Mm-hmm. It starts off with a high stakes military operation in Scotland. Being run by a man who looks just like Dan B. Did you think that? I'll go one step further and say he looks like if someone made an action figure of Dan B.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Yes. Yeah. Dan B. Are we, should we not say his last name? Or Dan B? I will go back and bleep out his name where we just said it. Dan B. Dan B. Dan B.
Starting point is 00:06:31 You may remember Dan B is the deliver of ice cream during that one episode. Yeah. Sweet dude. The great guy. Did the sound at our live show, which we would have never figured out. No. Also Also also also also also also also asshitting myself to be helpful in any way. That was like two decades ago that we did the live show, right? Is it like 2014?
Starting point is 00:06:50 No, no, we started this. It was 2018. I had to be at 2018. Because the babysitter got locked out, so I had to have had a child. I think about that all of the time as a moment in the middle of the night where I'm like you could have done better. So there's a German terrorist on board this plane that the Scots are very upset about. Yes. Well we see the plane get landed first right? Sure. That we we see the guy like explaining to what appears to be a person who
Starting point is 00:07:22 doesn't know how to fly a plane, how to land a plane. And he is being so calm. To the point of it, I could probably do that. I could probably let that plane. Yes, do you think that? My first thought was like, if it was hard to land a plane, he'd be like, oh my god. to land themselves, you know? to theykno. No. No. No. No. No. to be. to be. to be. to be. to be. tho. to be. tho. to be. to be. to be. tho. to be. to be. to be. to be. to be too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be. to be. to be. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the too. the the the the the. the. the. too. the the. the the. too. the the the the the the the thea. toooooooooooo. too. to itself. Come on, you got this. Apparently planes land themselves, which makes me think what are pilots doing?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Uh, getting drunk and grabbing butts? I mean, yeah, making quippy jokes when you land. Turning into jelly if airplane taught me anything? I mean, I don't know nothing about nothing when it comes to planes. So the next two weeks of movies are confusing for me. Yeah, I mean, I think this week is just your standard airplane. Next week is bomber jets or whatever. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:08:17 I guess it wasn't a jet, it had propellers. This plane has a basement though. Yeah, do planes have basements like that? I guess that's where they put your luggage? I want the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I tho tho tho tho tho thoes thoes thaten thoes thoes. I'm thoes. I'm thoes. I'm thoes. I'm thoes. I'm thoes. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm the. I'm the. I'm t. I'm to. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooes. I'm t. I'm that? I guess that's where they put your luggage? I want to know if there's a car on board my plane. That's too heavy. No, it can't come. Get that fucking thing. Who needs to take a Corolla overseas? Just get one when you get there. They're everywhere. They're everywhere. So we see a parachute fall out of the plane. First we see the guy who lands the plane.. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the plane. the the the plane. the the plane. the the the the plane. the the the the the the the their their their the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their ta. their their ta. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their out of the plane.
Starting point is 00:08:45 First we see the guy who lands the plane. He's missing a hand. Yeah. Check off's hand. Check off's hand. And a little kid climbs out of the plane via a parachute. Holding a little teddy bear, which will just break your heart right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Then I have a note, God, it's been a decade since I've been on a plane. I haven't been on a plane in so long.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Yeah, I don't even remember what flying is like. No. It's been too long. But it all seemed awful. It seems like a terrible idea. I mean, people are at their worst again? They just come pre-angred. Yeah. Just get down and getting up again.
Starting point is 00:09:30 What is your deal? You can't make it go any faster. Just sit there. You're already on this miracle of aviation. It's black magic-fuckery flying. So then we go in no flashback of a bald person in a hotel room bathroom. Yeah. Clean it up. Clean it up. And... And she puts on a cool wig? Which made me think about starting to like to wear wigs just to try on different looks? Yeah, why would you? I don't know? Why have I never thought of it? It's just a hair hat? Yeah. And I think there's like a weird stigma about it. Funt. Yeah. And I thi the the the the the th. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. their. there's their. their. there's their. there's there's there's there's their there's there's their. their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the? Yeah, why have I never thought of it? It's just a hat? It's just a hair hat. Yeah. And I think there's like a weird stigma about it. Fuck it. Why, they look cool.
Starting point is 00:10:10 Wigs are dope. Yeah. Yeah. I get a wig. Yeah. I think you should. I get a couple wigs? Why not? Well, can I be a wig person? Of course? You just have to do it. Right. You just. You just have to do it. their. their. their. their. their. they. they. they. they. they. they. they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're just they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I they they they they they they they they they they their. I. I th. I th. I th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. thi. thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. they're just Give the response that a woman who I worked with in Philadelphia gave what's that yes I paid for it My response would have been it's on my fucking head isn't it but I'm a very defensive person Yes, it is I paid for it. So she's giving herself a shot in the chest. Yes, which is intense. What is that's why would you ever have to give yourself a shot in the chest too. Yes, which is intense. Why would you ever have to give yourself a shot in the chest? I don't know, adrenaline is the only thing I know that you would do that for, you know, Nikki Sixth Style. Yeah, all right.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Well, now that makes sense to me. And oh, maybe she does have to like adrenalize her heart to get it to work or something, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to work, to to to to to to to to to to thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi., thi. to work or something because she's the unholy living dead as we find out later spoiler alert yeah I don't know but like in the beginning you're just like oh she's going to New York City for like leukemia I dream because her son to the tree because her son to the very nice gentleman named Fereed I love her son Elias. I love that he looks just like the kid from Jurassic Park. He does look just like that. I was trying to figure out who he looks like. He nailed it.
Starting point is 00:11:32 He's either that kid or an animated cabbage patch kid. He's one of the two. He's so cute. Big doe eyes. And he tells Farid that Farid that his mom has to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to go to to to to the to to the that his mom has to go to New York City because she has bad blood and needs a bone marrow transplant. Do you think leukemia?
Starting point is 00:11:48 Of course. That's not what it is. No, which we don't find out for a little while. It's true. Because we need to get on the plane first and see those German flight attendant hats which I'm obsessed with. I'm going to get a wig and a flight attendant hat, and this is who I am now. I wouldn't you. I don't know. Life is too short. I feel like you're just gonna look like your cosplaying
Starting point is 00:12:08 as former First Lady Jacqueline O'Nassus Kennedy. Yeah, I could see that. But what if I just keep the same clothes on that I'm wearing now, which is to be fair, a pair of leggings and a tie-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-s-s-s-s tie-s tie-s tie-s tie-s tie-s tie-s tie-s tie-s, tie-s, I tie-s, I'm tha-s, I'm that that that to-s. to-s, to-s, to-s, to-s, I'm to-s, I'm to-s, I'm to bea-s. I'm to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be tooomfff...... toe-s. toe-s. toyuuu. together-s. together-s. together-s. together-s. together-s. tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttogether-s. to-s. to-s. together-s a t-shirt that has the six-sad world from Dariah logo on it. Is that a good look? Jackio dressed like a grub. I'm a hundred percent on board for it. Yeah, right. This is my new thing. So we go to a flashback, flashback.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Yeah, a flashback with, in a flashback. To having a snowball fight with a baby in an ergo, which is the most extremely European thing in the world to do. I wanted to ask you this. You have sweet baby Lucy as a sweet, sweet little baby strapped to your chest. Rob starts throwing snow at you. Your reaction, please? Um, foot to the knee as hard as I can. Right. You're going to like, hey, the baby's is going to be cold, to be cold, to be cold, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to. to, to, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. th the. toooooooooooooooo. too. too. too. too. to Baby's gonna be cold. And also, did you just knock me to the ground? Because I have a small human right here.
Starting point is 00:13:08 That's probably recently thrown up on me. I'm not in the mood for this. Oh, I cannot wait to get into babies throwing up next week. And she's just like, This person has not held a baby in an ergo, whoever wrote this down. Oh, I forgot to mention when we get on the plane, we see the co-pilot Bastion, and he is very distracted. He does seem distracted. Because the one flight attendant that he has obviously had relations with at some point, is trying to get his attention, he ain't having it. Right. The other flight attendant says something like, well, you're not the only only one, you, you, you, you, you're the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. We're th. We're not the the the. We're thian, when, when, when, when, when, when, when we the, when we the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. We th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're th. We're the, the, the, the, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, the. We're the. We's trying to get his attention. He ain't having it.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Right. The other flight attendant says something like, well you're not the only one vying for his attention or whatever and then we see, I forget what his name is. I mean it's eight ball but I don't know if they give him a name in this eight ball. Edgar Bollington. I see. And he's like strutting down the aisle, which I liked a lot. I have to say, I love this character. It was just like, give me a German Jim Carrey? What do you got in German Jim Carrey? Like, we need someone to play a vampire terrorist German flight attendant.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Who do you have? And they were like, we have theist German flight attendant. Who do you have? And they were like, we have the perfect guy for you, because that guy's perfect. Do you have a Manila folder that just says Nicholas Cage-esque on him? Because I would like that if that's possible. I thought he was very smooth.
Starting point is 00:14:40 I'm just gonna put this out here early on. Yeah. Don't have a friend named April. No, I don't imagine that you you you you you you you you you you you you that you you you that you you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you that you to put this out here early on. Don't have a friend named Apell. No, I don't imagine that you're doing a lot of community work with 8Ball or like 8 Ball's really motivating you to be a better version of yourself. When they said 8ball, I was like, what? He didn't once do a bump in the bathroom where did it here in that nickname for him. Right. He ends up stabbing the bump in the bathroom, where did he earn that nickname? Right. He ends up stabbing the pilot in the eye. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:15:10 I love, this is one of the things I loved in the movie. So they said, oh, a car breaks down in the flashback, flashback. Oh, right. And dad has to go walk to find help. Yeah. We were this is after mom shoots herself in the chest again with a needle and has a minor orgasm in a bathroom stall at the airport. Real uncomfortable doing that in the bathroom stall at the airport. You're in there with your bag you had to like pull the door in to get your bag in and you're like why is it designed like this? Someone is definitely having wicked anxiety poops next to you. Yeah. So we cut back to the present of the most the most the most the most the most the most the most the most the most of the most of the most most most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the most of the the So we cut back to the second flashback. Anyway, we cut
Starting point is 00:15:45 back to the present of the most of the movie. And this one guy starts freaking out so the air marshals come to like quarantine him. Right. Such a smart move for the terrorist. It's so good. Find out who the air marshals are. I have a question about air marshal. Sure. Are they on every flight? I don't think so. Correct me if I'm wrong if you're an air marshal or work for the TSA? Yeah, they're so secretive. Yeah, you can't tell me. They can't tell you. It's like the CIA of air travel. Yeah, yeah, or like, yeah. There's spies or something, yeah. But really just like taking the red eye from Jacksonville to, you know, Birmingham. It's a real shit job, I would guess. I'm assuming that they want you to think that yes, there's one on every flight, at least
Starting point is 00:16:30 one. There were several on this, but I guess a transatlantic flight. I bet there's a one on every transatlantic flight. I bet, for sure. But maybe not like, Pittsburgh to Milwaukee. Like, the thi-skirtie, th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, on a Tuesday. On that three-seater plane it's going from Pittsburgh to Milwaukee. That's a joke, you can't get direct to Milwaukee from here. All the Pittsburghers were chocolate at that one. We're like, we're not a hub anymore. Katie. Southwest left. Um, oh, oh, oh, yeah. So, but, what's they saying?
Starting point is 00:17:05 Oh, oh, oh, yeah, they, so, but the idea of like, figuring out who the air marshals are killing them all off. Right. The one guy who goes up in like prison shivs the woman air marshal in her seat. Yes. That was brutal and fantastic. Can I tell you what I liked about that guy? Please. He's wearing a t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s, thoer-s-s-s-s-s, the-s, the-s, the-s, their-s, their-s, their-s, their-s, their-s, the the the the the through the beginning of the movie and then later he changes into like a boatneck
Starting point is 00:17:26 top that I just did not understand at all? Is he the one with when they put on wetsuits that his wetsuit didn't have a top? Is that why? Yeah, okay. Yeah those thoooo those were some brief conversationthe ocean to be picked up. Why didn't he have a top? Because they fucked up, I guess. Okay. There was some brief conversation about it. I missed that. I was just like, why is this man in a boatneck? I watched this moving on a tablet, so I probably missed some things as well.
Starting point is 00:17:54 It's also very dark. It's very dark and it's very long. which I know you knew I was gonna say. But it really did like that air-martial kill. I thought that was really cool the way they did that. Very clever. And we find out that eight ball, eight ball, is a complete loose cannon and cannot stop stabbing this person. He is so excited to murder. He has just got, it's amazing he's not murdered before. Yeah, and then he walks out to the crowded plane and says, all right everybody, calm down. Covered in blood. Oh, so good. He's so good. So we
Starting point is 00:18:31 learned that the co-pilot was in on it too. Yeah. And Boatneck is like, I reprogrammed the black box. And it's like, can you just like pick them up and reprogram? Oh, sure. Okay. I didn't know if that was a the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the th. the th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. Co. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. to. to. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to. Co-. them up and reprogram? Oh, okay. I didn't know if that was a thing you could do. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So they have all the passengers like arms up, you know, heads down, and for some reason the child decides to make a run for it? Because he's, they're turning the plane around. So the whole purpose of taking this particular flight they were taking was it would always be night from Germany to New York City. Right. So the mom who's a vampire, yes, would never experience the little sunlight. Right. So it sounds like, oh we have to get you below deck so you won't get sunlight into this plane that has a basement. Right. I mean they have to put your shit somewhere. For sure I just didn't think you could stand up where it was. No I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. For sure, I just didn't think you could stand up where it was. No, I thought it was like a greyhound bus.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Or a crawl space. Yeah. At best, a crawl space. Yeah. There's very, we know very little about planes. For sure. And I like to keep it that way. I don't want you to explain it to me. Yeah, there's a wizard up front that's making everything happen. It's like a very low level.
Starting point is 00:19:45 It's like a cantrip for him though, so it's not like he can do it so many times. Yeah, he can do it and then go about reading, you know. It's not a taxing thing. Yeah, financial times or whatever he's doing. Right, hard to fail. Yeah. There is a shitty broker guy. I love that they were just like, let's make the rich guy literally the worst possible human being. He really is too. And then we can give him his come-up-ins later. He does get his come-up-ins. Several
Starting point is 00:20:14 times, which I think is nice, that he suffers and then dies. Yeah. So then mom gets shot by eight ball. Yes.. She's chasing Elias, Elias, Elias. I'm gonna go with Elias because that's how my dumb Delaware accent would pronounce it. I swear, Elias. You know, like kindergarten. When mom gets shot, we go back to flashback number two, which is the day that the car broke down.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Oh God, being trapped in that car in the snow with a baby is a nightmare. I'm a nightmare. My first question, the fuck are you doing out there? Where do you live? Where are you going? Where did you come from? Where did you go from home? Why would you go that far from home with a baby? To throw snow?
Starting point is 00:20:57 to the snow? too, the snow. So she follows dad's footprints with the baby strap to her. I hate it. To a house. This was immediately giving me the ritual vibes when they find that house in the woods. I got all the spooky shit in it. Yep.
Starting point is 00:21:20 Do you tell that I recently read the book that that movie is based on? No. Uh, quick diversion. In the book, it's not a cultist group that's in the woods. It's black metal dudes who have conjured a demon. What? Are they silly? Yes. Yes. Very. And it's like, I think you want me to take this serious, but I cannot take this seriously. this. this. this. this. this. this. this. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. the the the the the that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. I like that when they adapted it for a movie, they were like, let's just, j-j-jjjj-jah-jah.
Starting point is 00:21:45 Yeah. We can just like a, but, b-bid-bid. Oh, I don't know what that is, so I'm going to do this thing. Bye. Bye. Sounds like it was a better choice. Yeah. It's like, it'sator. And she is just like no qualms,
Starting point is 00:22:07 fucking let's do this. With a baby. Oh my god. And then she gets knocked down by a guy who's going, blah blah blah blah not making out just going. That sound means a lot of things to us. And then she sees her dead husband. Oh, Nikolai. Nicolai. And she's fighting with the guy because she locks him out and then he runs around the side of the house and comes in a window. Yeah. But then the sun comes up. She's pretty hard. Yeah. Yeah. She stabs that dude. At this point I was like, oh I'm in for this. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, th. that's, th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the. the. I'm in for this. Yeah. I loved like, again, another thing, like, I've, it was a really nice touch to not just start off with, oh, by the way, I'm a vampire. Right. It's like, oh, by the way, I'm a vampire.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Right, they just set it up that she was ill. I believed it. Yeah, I had forgotten about it until there were actually vampires on a plane though and then I was like, oh yeah, vampires on plane. Yeah, and it's real sad. It is real sad. It's that the mom getting shot scene is brutal. Yeah, you never want to see a mom get shot in front of her six-year-old child. Yeah, but that's when we meet the terror, the very tall terrorist named High Tower, which I have to assume is a reference to the fine film franchise Police Academy. It has to be.
Starting point is 00:23:32 You like those movies? This movie? No, Police Academy. Oh, of course. Okay, good. I will never revisit them because I'm sure they will be racist. Oh yeah. Homophobic. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Massogen, they will just be all of the bad things. Right. But in retro in my memory, Bobcat Goldwait. Genius. And the guy, Michael Winslow, makes the sound. Did you ever see that thing where he's imitating typewriters? I've not seen it, but one of my friends in college had a CD of his stand-up, which is just him making a lot of different sounds.
Starting point is 00:24:13 It was really fun. I listened to hours and hours of the jerky boys so I can never judge anyone. Oh, that's fucked up though. For sure. And still will make me giggle like a child. Have you ever listened to Longmont Potion Castle? I have not. What is that?
Starting point is 00:24:31 It's a guy who does prank calls, but they're like, they're not mean-spirited. They're just really funny and he's, I guess a DJ too, so he'll like modulate his voice and then be like, it's very funny without being mean. I like that. I think you would like it. Yeah. More Mon Potion Castle. It's like the, do you remember that Tim and Eric show? Yeah. Before they did this show they would do phone calls, prank phone calls, and they did one where I think it around, it floats like in a bathtub. And it's just like ridiculous. And the one was like, okay, yeah, I'll take a look for it. Oh, I'll see it.
Starting point is 00:25:14 I love to my ticker. Very funny stuff. Oh, that's good comedy. Back to us. You guys love it when I explain the the the the the the thia thia thia to us. You guys love it when I explain half of a joke. How do we get here? Police Academy? Hi Tower. Hi Tower. Steve Gutenberg? I have a crush on Steve Gutenberg briefly as a child. That's all I wanted to say. That's less until this day. So mom climbs down. She has enough energy after being shot. She wakes up, spits blood all over herself. Looks great. And I was like, the police the police the the police. the to to to to to to to to to to to to to the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police the police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police their police. I police their police. I police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I their police. I. I'm. I'm. their. So mom climbs down, she has enough energy after being shot, she wakes up, spits blood
Starting point is 00:25:47 all over herself, looks great. And I was like, oh, poor actor, you had to lay on the floor with a mouth full of blood. That had to have been uncomfortable. Yeah. And I also like the idea that every time she gets shot, it hurts her, it won't kill her, but she is feeling the pain of it, which is really good. For sure. Very tragic.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Yeah. So she climbs down into the cargo hold. We will call it the plane basement. And drinks a little puppy dog. Yeah. Yeah. And then. She loves it. Kills the dude who's setting up some sort of explosive in the basement.
Starting point is 00:26:26 Somehow I had it in my head that the explosives were fake. The poison gas is fake. The poison gas is hair spray cans. There you have. Okay. But the bomb, as it turns out, is very real. Because I kept being like, well, they're not going to be able to detonated. It's fake and the the the th fake, th fake, th fake, th fake, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, tho, tho, tho, their, their, their, their, their, the the the the the the the the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, to be able to detonate it. It's fake and then it blew up and I was like, oh fuck, I've missed something.
Starting point is 00:26:47 So she kills this dude and then frames a beautiful little dog for it. Yeah. Can we talk about, nah-na-na-na-berg? Berge. The American leader of the Terrorists, played by one Dominic Purcell. Of grave dancers. Of grave dancers.
Starting point is 00:27:12 A film, I love. That might have been my third pick if you needed another week. Grave dancers, dancing for money. Pretty sure we made that joke in the episode. Go back one hundred. Enjoy it. I forgot that he was in that. I just referred to him as the broad-headed man in this.
Starting point is 00:27:36 His head is gigantic. Yeah, you made a lot of comment of that in the Grave Dancers episode as well. I'm sure of it. He does have a really big head, really broad shoulder, really small neck thing. Yeah, there's just something that's very like, what's going on buddy? He's very Simeon looking. You know? You know? Burk. And he talks like this. Yes, well he's an American. He's like being, I think he's a... he's a... He's a Hul I think he is an American. He's an American, but he's being like, he's a Hugh Lorry doing the American accent. Oh, for all you house fans. I don't know who that is or what you're talking about. I'm just laughing. The TV show House? I know I guess vaguely what it is. The gentleman who plays an American is named Hugh Lorry and he pronounces everything like this, because he's an American. I see, he's probably from Minnesota.
Starting point is 00:28:27 I just laughed at your house joke, I don't know what it is. Sometimes I feel like I can tell you that I don't know what you're talking about, and sometimes I just let it go. Because the people know, they don't need me to know. Anyway, can you really just fire a gun on a plane like that? I, what you you you you you you you you you you you th you th you th you th you th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho that that thathea. thathea that. Anyway, can you really just fire a gun on a plane like that? I didn't think you could do that. I mean, what do you mean? Like, I thought if you fired a gun on a plane, the plane would blow up somehow?
Starting point is 00:28:53 No, it just would do what it did where you puncture it and then all the air gets sucked out of the plane. Why does that happen upstairs but not in the plane basement. What is cabin pressure? What is cabin pressure? What is cabin pressure? Let's start there. So I think if my pea brain understands this properly, you know how when someone deep sea dives and they have to come up slowly
Starting point is 00:29:17 because the pressure will make them get air bubbles in their system? The bends? Is that what the ben? Yeah, the bends? So I think this is is is is is is is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort this is sort of this is sort this is sort this is sort, yeah. So I think this is sort of an inverse of that, where they're keeping it pressurized so that when you're way up in the air, it keeps oxygen in your, in the compartment that you're in, in the passenger compartment. So if a cabin depressurizes, there's no air? Right, it sucks all the oxygen out. I'm never getting on a plane again. Well, here's a question. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. the th. the the th. th. the the the the the th. the the the th. the the th. the the the the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the. the. the. the. thean. theanananananananananananan. tease. tea. tea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thease. So later on in the movie, we see that there's an automobile in the basement of the- Were you just doing Gietta Nabi from 16 candles?
Starting point is 00:29:51 Yes. Automobile? See, how can I not laugh? It's the only way I can hear that word. There's a car in the basement and it has bulletproof windows. And they immediately went, why doesn't the plane? That's such a great question. Why would a car need it and not a plane? I don't know. Great question.
Starting point is 00:30:24 So yeah, the cabin depressurizes because fucking loose cannon eight balls just firing guns all over the place. He is firing guns all over the place. But they fire a gun many times before the cabin depressurizes. Yeah. We also see in a flashback, uh, mom pulling out her teeth. Oh yeah. We see that she's like like a plate a plate a plate a plate a plate a plate a plate toe toe toe toe toe toe the toe toe the the toe toe the toe the the teeth. Oh yeah. We see that she's like popped out.
Starting point is 00:30:45 She's got a plate to cover her fangs. That's radical. I love teeth stuff. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think it's great. I love that she is just like, um, like a utilitarian vampire.
Starting point is 00:30:57 I was like, well, I've have to wear this plate. Gonna pop it out? Yeah. There's my fangs. And I also think that her like the effect of her face is so good. It's like nice and simple. I think she looks great. She was giving me hard 30 days of night fights? Yes, I agree, which I also thought they looked great Sure. I have several more now, which is that she's got a reflection, even when she's the vampire. Sure. I have several more that will come up as the episode goes on. Okay, perfect. But this scene where she's like popping out the plate and like looking in the mirror, and seeing herself become more vampiric, and you can see she's like losing her humanity. She takes out her contact so she has reflective eyes. Yeah. Which I liked a lot.
Starting point is 00:31:45 She becomes an animal, basically. She does. But watching her do it so like regretfully? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I believe recently we coined the phrase vampires are mad sad, yo? Did we? On a podcast. That's good. Because it's a miserable life.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Some of them like it. Sure. Yeah, I think you've got to be like real horny to really like it. Yeah. And she didn't seem like soop's horny. I feel like eight ball would it. When he started to make himself into a vampire, I was like, this makes perfect sense. He's got to be one of the the the the the the the top top top top top top top top top top top top top top top top the top top top top top the top top top top the top top the top top top the to to to to the the the the to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to a list of... I think he has mean sex like Uncle Frank from Hellraiser.
Starting point is 00:32:25 In jeans. Gross. Determins wear jeans? I don't think they do. Oh, of course they do. You're joking. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. So... So she's a vampire now?
Starting point is 00:32:43 Yeah. And you're like, oh, you didn't have leukemia? You had vampirism. Yeah.. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.. Yeah. Yeah. thism. th. th. thism. that. that. that. th. thism. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. thiii? that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. Gross. that. Gross. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. thi? thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii? that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. And you're like, oh, you didn't have leukemia. You had vampirism. Yeah. So this is when the terrorist guys have set everything up on the plane to be on autopilot. It's going to go where it needs to go and it's going to drop them off. But then she finds someone on the plane in a really badass way of just walking up and yelling like, can't it even motherfuckers fly a motherfucking plane?
Starting point is 00:33:10 Yeah. And one guy's like, yeah, I can. That poor aerospace engineering student. Yes. Yeah. But I love this because Farid goes, of course, because they had them read a statement in Arabic. They had three Arabic guys who could, three people on the plane who could read Arabic. Yeah. And at least two of them were Middle Eastern. And one of them was previously in some sort of terrorist organization.
Starting point is 00:33:35 And then they end up just shooting the one guy. Yeah. Fucking, eight ball. But I was like, you know, no one has ever put this much planning into making something go off off off off off. I was like, you know, no one has ever put this much planning into making something go off other than maybe who's the famous guy who jumped off a plane with a bunch of money? Jimmy Cooper? Yes, Timmy Cooper. So the terrorists have realized that there's these two guys on the plane who are Middle Eastern or Arabic of some sort and framed them for this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:34:03 Yeah, including our boy Farid, whom we love. But when Farid finds out that that guy is an aerospace engineer or whatever, he's like, of course you are. Yeah. Like, they set the whole thing up. They were both going to New York for a convention that didn't actually exist. Yeah. Brilliant.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Terrible. And nothing else these guys did exhibited that level of brilliance. No, they seem to be kind of dumb bozo as otherwise. And then later Bastions just like, I guess I'm on the side of good again. Why? I'm sure I'll get out of this. Yeah. This movie is so good about like, oh no, come up and you're gonna get those. Oh yeah. See, this is where I got confused about the bomb not being real,
Starting point is 00:34:45 because I was like, they're really just gonna leave these people to not turn the plane around? They're just gonna turn the plane around. But I guess that the bomb was real. What was the terrorist's goal? So they were gonna jump out of the plane. Yeah. Therefore, there's no nobody to prosecute. But what, for, what is their goal? Oh, um, it's never really stated. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:13 But like the broker guy was like, oh, this will tank the stock market. They can make a killing and short selling. And then, uh, I can't remember the guy's name with a mustache, he was yelling in German through the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole the whole's name with the mustache. He was yelling in German through the whole thing. About Rain Year or something? Yeah, he's like, oh no, they're gonna do this thing and that thing. I forgot about that, yeah. So it was like, it was almost like, Sean of the Dead when they're giving all the possible things
Starting point is 00:35:33 that could have started the zombie apocalypse the beginning of it. so many reasons to commit terrorism. Yeah, yeah, for sure. Cool. And it's very, it's very diehard. Like they're setting it up to be terrorists, but they're actually just there for the bonds and stocks or whatever that was. The bearer bonds. And the end that they're just like this multinational group of people, like how did you come together? Yeah, who hired eight ball? Who hired eight ball is a great question. How do you know each other?
Starting point is 00:36:07 Oh, we went to school together. I gave the nickname eight ball. This is where I have the note, because mom is now completely bald with pointy ears and a very pronounced brow and a lot of teeth. So many teeth. Mom is full Nosferatu. And then you just patted yourself on teeth. So many teeth. Mom is full nasferat too. Mom's ferratu. And then you just patted yourself on the back just...
Starting point is 00:36:29 And I had the wherewithal I would have done a victory lap. You should have. You deserved one. Copyright, copyright. So then we find mom in the basement of the plane. Yeah. With eight ball. Yeah. Who is shot her again. He is shot her again. And then I then I then. And then. And then. And I then. And I then. And I then. And I then. And I then. And I then. And I th then I then I then I th th th then I th th th th. And I th. And th. th. th. th. the the th. Yeah. Who is shot her again? He's shot her again. And then I thought he was injecting her with something. No, no. No, no.
Starting point is 00:36:52 No, he's sucking her blood. He examines her teeth. He's fine with just the inside of her mouth, their mouth. thoughs. thiii. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. thauauauauauauaua. thoo. thooooom! thoom! thoom! thoom! thoed. thoed. thoed. thoed. thoed. thoed. thoed. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. toa. tou tou tou tou tou tea tee. I thought you loved it when a dentist scraped your teeth. That's their job that's different. This is able's job being a weirdo. He's good at it. I loved her little teeth. There were on top of teeth. So but he and he takes her blood and it's like I'm gonna use that later. Yeah, he's figured out that she's a vampire because of the way she was behaving in the plane upstairs. Yeah. So he takes her blood. Oh and he did and earlier in the movie we saw that they have a UV light. Yeah, that he uses against her. And he's a hockey stick that he carves into a steak? Yes, he does. He comes out like twirling it like a psychopath.
Starting point is 00:37:49 Yeah, I'll let in the like next bit of the moot. It's all just chasing around on a plane. Elias shoots out the window. Elias shoots out the moot. It's all just chasing around on a plane. Elias shoots out the window. Elias shoots out the window, right, because he does not shoot eight ball, though he very much should have. And then someone yells, pressure drop, yeah. Which if you know anything about me, I love the first wave sco song, pressure drop and got very excited to sing that in my head for a while. Presser drop. No, nothing. No, nothing. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I. I. I. I. I I I I. I. I. I. I thi. I thi. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll. I'll th. I'll th. I'll th. I'll th. I'll th. I'll the. I'll the. I'll the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. Because. th. Because. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. theeee. theeeeeeee. theee. the. the. the. a while pressure drop pressure drop no nothing nothing nothing nothing I'll send it to you it's great song okay thanks so all the gas masks fall down not gas
Starting point is 00:38:34 masks oxygen masks very different well because eight balls like if you've got gas masks put them on because we've tied up some poisonous gas over here oh oh he's so good he's so good and stock markets running around tied up some poisonous gas over here. Oh! He is so good. And stock markets run around trying to grab the mascot, other people's hands. There's dozens of them hanging there, stock market. Like, every five minutes are like, how do we make that guy look like a bad guy? Yes!
Starting point is 00:38:57 He's just screaming, give me your mask to an old woman. He calls for the B word too. He's like screaming, you're just like yelling around about this mask and then he gets smushed by a drink card. A drinks card. Uh, yeah, oh, the drinks card is what ultimately kills him. It's very funny. Because when we first met him, he's like, I don't know if he grabs the flight attendant's ass, or it's just like, hey, sweet cheeks, break me back a vodka and soda.
Starting point is 00:39:30 That's right, he's being a gross up to the female flight attendant. So we find eight ball, mom spratu finds eight ball in the basement in the car, shooting himself up with her blood, which is just gross. It's gross. Don't, I mean, don't do that. But that's what you're gonna get with a buddy named Apeball. It's true. He's gonna be weird. Why did he not just drink it? Wouldn't that be better to become a vampire? Am I wrong?
Starting point is 00:39:57 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Q. to. Yeah, yeah, he says. Do you... All right, quick cue. You think you'd have a harder time shooting it into your vein, or like actually putting the syringe in your mouth
Starting point is 00:40:11 and it's shooting in the back of your throat? Oh, like when you have to give a cat anti-biotics. Exactly. No, yeah, I probably didn't spit the blood everywhere, like a cat being given anti-baclonics. Yeah, no, I guess I would just put it right, I'd put it right into my butt. Into your butt? Can't you just put it into your butt? You can give yourself other shots in your butt. Like, butt chugging?
Starting point is 00:40:35 No, in your butt cheek. I used to have to give myself injections and I would just put them right in my ass. Cheek. Because it's so fat. 8-ball goes right for the arm. Doesn't go for the ass cheek. Typical 8-ball. Well, I was thinking about how you said, like, you never understand in movies how people want to become vampires. Yeah. Because it's like you want to be the bad guy. Right, right, right. But it's like that totally works for 8-ball.
Starting point is 00:41:04 Sure, because he's a psychopath, yeah. Psychopathopath, like, like, you th, you th, you th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, th. Oh. Oh. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi. Oh, tha. Oh, tha. Oh, tha. Oh, tha'a'a'a. 8, tha'a. Eighth. Eighth. Eighth. Oh, tha. Oh, th guy. Right, right, right. But that totally works for Eutbal. Sure, because he's a psychopath. Psychopath, yeah. Psychopath, yeah. Sociopath, one of them. So we see mom attacking him through the car, like trying to break through the windshield, which is such a switcheroo on what you normally see in a horror movie, which I like Mom has perfect flashbacks. She sees things very good. Yeah Where she meets the father of the vampire who turned her right and he's like you killed my son And she's like well he bid me and he's like yeah, but
Starting point is 00:41:45 She shoots over the shotgun or tries to and then she kills that guy and lights him on fire and then she's like I need to light a ball. I need to light a fire and then she says that the threat. Oh my god. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, she says it's a huge fire in that house. Yeah. And then just lights it with a lighter and I thought, oh my god, you're gonna go up in flames. But the dad of the vampire that turned her is like, you have to stop this evil. Yeah. You can't let it keep theyce. Yes, you're right. Too late. Because apparently just biting someone turns him into a vampire. I guess? Because she bites Brock Broadhead and he becomes a vampire until she stabs him in the chest and kills him.
Starting point is 00:42:13 Right. She stakes him basically. Yeah, you're right about that. Yeah. So then why does he even need her blood? Well, because she didn't bite him. So it's either or not both. Yeah, right, right. Right, right. But. But. But. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. Because. Because. Because, to. Because, to. Because, to. Because, to. Because to. or, not both. Yeah, right, right, right, right. Got it. Right, right. But yeah, she shoves a metal rod through the window
Starting point is 00:42:29 and then pours gasoline in the window. Why is there gasoline on this plane? I was that gasoline? I thought it was liquor, and I was like, Oh, it was liquor. You're right. Where did she she she she she???? th? th? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She? She. She. She. She? She? She. She? She? She? She. She? She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's, she's? Sh's sh sha? Sh shaves. She. Shves. She. Shves. She. Shves. Shove? She. Shove? Shove? She's as I don't know about vampires. But also, can you just set something on fire in the basement of a plane and not have the plane go down? Apparently, that does not sound right to me. You can bring a vape on a plane for a long time? You can set a car on fire and it will just keep flying? That does not sound right.
Starting point is 00:43:01 It's just because no one wants to smell your fucking bubble gum smoke. I mean, I don't vape. I was just, never mind. We also learned in her flashback that she got all of her medications from the old guy. Whatever those are, it's never explained. Medications, yes. Her eyes look so cool in the fire, so glowing in the fire. Yeah, awesome. When they show the plane, they're, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, thi, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. We', th. Oh, I, I, I, I, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I, I, I, I, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was, I was. Oh, I was. Oh, I was. Oh, I was. Oh, I's, I's, I's, thi. Oh, thi. We's, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. We's, tha. We's just just, tha. We's just, th. We's just, th th thi. We's just, thi. th plane, they show, there's like the briefest inset of the plane flying through the clouds and it's the fakes plane.
Starting point is 00:43:31 It's so good. Like, why do they even include that? I believed they were on a plane. You didn't need to show me the outside of it. So Apeball, the co-pilot sets off fire extinguatures, which stop 8-ball from burning to death. And because he's a vampire, you can't. Yeah. He looks, I thought he looked great as a burned vampire.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Yeah. Yeah, he was giving Bill Paxson vibes from near dark, but he was also like, if he was on 11 before, he's like, I'm 33 now. I love every second. And he just starts making more vampires. Hi Tower? Vampire. Everybody's a vampire now.
Starting point is 00:44:19 Yeah. The little boy shouting, Mama, watch out they want to kill you. It is fucking heartbreaking. So she gets in the, there's the scene where she's in the cockpit and they're shooting people to get her to come out of the cockpit. And fucking A-ball grows, goes and grabs out like 12-year-old girl? Yeah. I kind of hate you right now, movie.
Starting point is 00:44:43 Yeah. You were pushing your limits with shooting all those dogs earlier. Yeah. I mean, it's terrible, yeah. Yeah, but it's like, it's like setting in concrete that this dude is the worst. The fucking worst. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, whenever they wanted to make someone the worst in this movie, it was very evident. Sure. Like when the, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, they, they they they they they they they they they they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, I they, I th. th, I th, I th, I th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I th, I mean. I mean. Yeah. I, I, I, I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I, I. I. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. I, I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, uh, uh, th. Uh, th. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah this movie it was very evident. Sure.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Like when the stock market guy has been smushed by the drinks cart and they're like we need a doctor and the doctor turns up and he's like help me I'll pay you. A million dollars. That's the second time he says help me I'll pay you which is just gross. And she's and she was just basically like, sorry dog. Yeah. Meanwhile Farid has been bit on the hand. Yeah. And Naja, Naja?
Starting point is 00:45:30 Yeah. The mom has cut his hand off. And he's right the fuck back on his feet. I swear to God I'd be dead and a ghost if that happened to me. I like when Elias has to stop her from killing Farre. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. thease. thea. thoes. thoes. thease. thoomea. thoomkoyoyea. thoomkary. toea. toease. toease. toease. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I'm toea. I'm like like like like like like like likedullea. I'm like like likedullia. I'm not like likediaea. I'm toea. killing Farid. Yeah. Because she has pretty much just gone feral at this point. Because apparently, the more blood she drinks, the more feral she becomes. Yeah, it seems like the stronger she gets, but the more out of control she gets.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Exactly. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So she's drinking mad blood to kill the terrorists, but it's having the adverse effect if she's becoming she's th. Mom's frattoo. It's very sad. It is very sad. It is very sad. On a less sad note, do they just have morphine on planes? Uh-huh. So I just get like a bad injury and ask for morphine they'll just put me out, you think? Maybe I'm gonna try it. I don't know though, because would they be duct taping all those people to chairs if they had morphine available to them? Great question. Maybe on transatlantic flights. Not flights tuned from Florida? Just, yeah. Duck taking people to chairs, Jesus. They do that? Some guy recently was like going off on a plane about
Starting point is 00:46:39 masks or something and like endangering the flight so a flight attendant taped into a chair. Jesus. Oh my God. They should not have to fucking do that. That. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Not. Jesus. Yeah. They should not have to fucking do that. That should not be in their job description. They should bring you drinks with a smile and make you feel special. I was going to say it's like your waiter at Pizza Hut suddenly has to bounce the restaurant.
Starting point is 00:47:01 Yes! He's like, I want to get the restaurant. He's like, I'm gonna get the manager. I brought you your personal pan pizza, sir. So stock market, such a dick, lets the vampires out of the basement where they'd been locked. Yeah. Because he wants to, he's like, make me a vampire. I don't want to die. Fuck off. In eight balls shining moment, he just throws the guy to the side. Yes. So then we're back in the present where the plane has landed and Elias is trying to find his teddy bear. He needs his teddy bear.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Even though I know he's going to get out of it, I'm so upset by all of them. Yeah. And there's the whole like scene of him, they drug him at one point because he's freaking out and yelling that there's vampires on the plane. Right, but wait before that happens all of the passengers are turned into vampires. Yeah, every single last one of them. Suddenly, here's one of my are vampires questions. Are vampires just like always hungry or is blood just like so delicious they can't think of anything else? Because they cannot control themselves? Yeah I don't know. What's the are they just bottomless pits? I mean it's hard because Dracula spends a long time just kind of being a dick? Yeah it's true. that's true. th. the their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. their. th. th. thi. thi. they's they's they's they're thi. they're thi. they're they're tha. they're they're they're they're just just just just just just. they're just just just just. their. they's just just just just just just just. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. ti. ti. ti. ti. ti. too. te. te. te. te. too. te. te. te. too. te. te. te. te. t dick. Yeah, it's true. He takes his time. Yeah. And Colin Farrell also spent a long time being a dick. Yeah, he does. Chris Sarandon, also a dick.
Starting point is 00:48:32 Yeah, okay. So it's just these vampires. The 30 days of night people were basically like, yeah, let's take the ship. We'll have a 30-day buffet. Right. So, yeah, I don't know. I guess it depends on the breed of vampire. Fair. But these are all the very feral monster vampires. It's just a bloodbath in there. Mm-hmm. So the military goes on the plane, because they're like got to stop the terrorists. They shoot at Farid a few times. Poor Fareed. I know. They eventually arrest him and pull him off the plane before all the military starts getting turned into vampires. Right. This is, yeah, this is after they turn the F basically
Starting point is 00:49:13 fire eight ball into the sun in the plane basement. Yeah. Oh, that's right. Mom and Elias are having like the fight with eight ball on the plane and knocking out the window and all that. Eventually Elias inject a medic with something. Did you say that already? No. He does. Oh because they're trying to knock him out again and he just like spins the needle and injects that guy. That's badass. You're six. Runs up to see his mom running out of the plane. Oh. And detonates the fucking plane with the phone. the phone. the f f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the the the th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.. Oh................................................................................................. the. the. the. the. they. they. they. they's. they's. they's.. they. they'redy bear. She, her face is like just subtly different. Yeah. But I think it's like she's past the point of no return. Yeah. And I think that this is a contingency plan that they had made in the past.
Starting point is 00:49:54 Yeah. I mean he's very mature about her being a vampire, which is sad. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. But somehow I was under the impression the detonator was fake. Twas not. Twas not. Turned it into a completely burned up airplane. So an explosion will kill vampires. Apparently. I'm not, I don't know if I'm on board with that, but okay. Maybe there's a two. Maybe there's a blood red sky, aka mom's farat two too. But the two in mom's for a two is just the number two. The number two, moms for a digit two.
Starting point is 00:50:25 And it's a cars, buts family, mom's for a two. For the butts family. Scra three. Is there another scream? Is there another scream? Did I imagine this or is there another scrim? Yeah. We haven't even talked about it. Can we just call it five cream? We can call it whatever we want.
Starting point is 00:50:47 I'm going to call it five cream. Skriff. Do you want to rate this movie? Sure. You want to go first? I went into this with very low expectations. Sure. It was so pleasantly surprised.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I thought the terrorist hijacking scenes were great. I thought it was very tense. I thought it was exciting. I thought the creature design was great. It was heartbreaking. Farid is such a good guy. He's gonna take care of that kid. Sweetest.
Starting point is 00:51:14 It's too long. Sure. But it did teach me to say shit in German. Because they say it all the time. Shisa. Because they say it all the time. Shiza? Shaisa. Yeah. Uh, seven and a half. Oh nice. And short the shit out of this movie. Too long. Way too long. Way too long. Way too long. For sure. I stopped at a one point to go, I was replenished my Chinese food. And I was like stopped and I went, there can't be a fucking hour left. This is one of those movies where there's always an hour left. No matter where you stop it.
Starting point is 00:51:48 How? I will, yeah, I think seven, solid seven for sure. This is really fun, I think. It's scary. I will say this about this movie. Yeah. I enjoyed the story so much that I was like, you know what, they turned this into a TV show, Wood Watch, would watch a TV show of this movie. Yeah. I would watch this as an episodic thing where they stretched it out and showed me more of this universe. Yeah. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:52:15 I like it. Just feral monsters all over the place. I need to know the terrorist back story. Yeah. How did you guys? Where th. He was an exchange student. And thank you to Justin Gray for suggesting that movie to us. Happy birthday. Happy birthday this is for you. What are we going to do next week? Uh, how about another mom plane movie? As aforementioned. I did not know this one was mom-based going into it. Oh my god.
Starting point is 00:52:54 It's a... What's it called? Shadow in the Cloud? Starring Chloe Grace Morets. In her action movie turn? Holy shit. Well I guess she was an action movie person and kick-ass anyway we'll get out into all that. I'm not gonna get into kick-ass. I'm gonna zone out for a little bit. It's on the Hulu. It's it is on the Hulu. Yeah so if you've got the Hulu it's freezies. I guess watch it. I mean you like probably don't have to. Do you love World War II? Who loves World War II? Do you love the
Starting point is 00:53:28 Pacific Theater? Who loves the Pacific Theater? It's like Clint Eastwood? Yeah, I was gonna say it probably a lot of people as entertainment. I mean he is starting a cockfighting ring in our basement. I don't know if that's a bad sign. Too soon. What? Since when? Uh, thank you everyone again for all of your kindnesses.
