Starting point is 00:00:00 Katie, Alan. Last week, we did a film called Shadow in the Cloud. Katie. Last week we did a film called Shadow in the Cloud. We sure did. We could have if we'd given it any amount of effort, but sometimes we don't want to do that. This week, we watched a movie from 2008, which is supposed to be a remake of Prom. It is not. It's just a movie about Prom. It should be called the Cloud and said, Wherewith Ambulance? Hold my Zima. Because it's coming at me with 2008, 1994 Energy.
Starting point is 00:00:53 And daring me to find something interesting to talk about in this movie. Oh man, it is really just like a mealy apple, isn't it? Oh, you call it red delicious all you want. It tasks like a bag of sand that somebody peed in. It's water crackers and no cheese. But look how many notes I have. You have so many notes. Am I still going? I can't see the screen anymore. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, oh yeah, you're done now. I wrote on everything I could think of. Seven percent on rotten tomatoes this film has. It does. It does. I believe. th. th. also had. Which was a goddamn joy. A goddamn delight.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Yeah. Also, problematically, I picked this movie and realized that today, September 30th is the day it's leaving Netflix. Why would you take the remake of Prom Night off Netflix the day before October? I don't know. But so you guys can't watch it. That's so good. Yeah. I just started it last night and it was like, last day to watch, September 30th. And I looked at my watch and was like, fuck. This is where the opening credits rolled and say that's so wherewool fabulous.
Starting point is 00:01:59 And then like a boxing glove came out of my TV and just punched me right in the nose, which I thought was rude. Right in the nuts you don't even have. It's so to'gurts to get hit in the frot. Anyway, interselbus in this movie. Yeah, Jason, he's just a fucking street. Is that a, that's a quarterback? Scott Porter. But then there's that other guy who looks just like like, the boy, the boy, tha, that's in the Twilight movies. Yes, I thought they were the same person. No,
Starting point is 00:02:28 no. They look exactly the same. It's their brow ridge. And they're spiky blonde hair. Yeah. Well they're 2008 hair. Yeah. Man and their mini cropped zip hoodies, I hope. Man they are back. I assume. Yeah, I would assume. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that. that. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Really? I still have mine. See, here's the thing. I think that if you experience the fashion the first time you're too old to wear at the second time. Yeah, you're not allowed to, yeah, like you can't bring your jelly necklaces back. I can't. I can't. You can't. I don't think so. Can I thrown. Can I thrown. Can I thr th. I th. I th. I th. I th. Sitting here in flip-flops and gym shorts. What do I know about shit? You're in your own home. You're in your own home. I do have a note that's like, holy shit, Jason Street can walk again. Q B. Texas forever. I said this before, I can't recommend highly enough watching Friday Night Lights, the TV
Starting point is 00:03:25 show so goddamn good. You loved it. I just call it the football show. I don't like football? Don't have any opinion one way or another about Texas other than their shit-ass abortion laws. By the way, the Church of Satan, or no, I'm so into it. the Lord's work right now now and I'm so into it. Yes, absolutely. So, you love Friday Night Lights.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I do. Watch Friday Night Lights. Give it a shot. If you might like it, yeah. Yeah. Why not? Yeah. What else are you doing, guys?
Starting point is 00:03:53 Everybody, I have this. This little little deep cut here. You probably never heard of this. Anyway, there's a blonde. there, there, there, there, there, there, there, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, th, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, tho, thi, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, watch, th. thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to thi, to thi, thi, thi, thi, to thi. to-a. to-a. to-a. to-a. to-a. to there's a blonde girl. And she is looking for her dad in a room she just looked in. We're talking about Donna Keppel. Who names their baby daughter Donna in the year of our Lord and Savior in 1990, which is when this character would have been born? I want my daughter to smoke later. What name should I give her now? Donna?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Donna is such a like, quintessentially Pittsburgh man. Oh yeah, for sure. Yes, she... Donna Keppel. Donna Keppel, she works on administration at like the dental school at Pitt, you know what I mean? I love to make her and her friend younger in the beginning of this because this takes place in what, their freshman year? The opening scene? I think so, yeah. So they have real tight ponies. Real tight ponies. And later they never have a ponytail.
Starting point is 00:04:53 So you know that they've aged. Yeah, the hair's flowing later. So Donna is skipping cheerleading. Right. Because she says her mom thinks to her their idea, so we don't know exactly what's going on, but something. Yeah. Yeah. She walks into her house, looks into the living room, a football game is on the TV. She says, Dodd? And her dad's not in there. So she like walks into the room. So she like walks into the room. And no one that her father was her dad is in the room. She trips over a baseball bat, I believe the one that her father was beaten to death with.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Oh, oh. And it's like, damn it, Bobby! Yeah. Her dad's dead. He's on the floor of the living room. Never gets to see how that football game ends. No. And then she finds her little bratty brother. Hold on. Do you think that was his regret? Yeah. I'm gonna pass. I'll never see my children grow up. And are the, I don't know, football men's gonna win? I couldn't
Starting point is 00:05:50 think of a fucking team. You live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Wait, are the Cardinals a football team as well? They're in Arizona, yeah. Okay, okay, okay, good. I was just thinking of the sports team cardinals because we talked about that that that that that th th th th th th th th th th. th. the football th. th. the football th. th. the team cardinals because we were talked about that earlier. The baseball team. Because fuck the cardinals. Anyway, her little brother's dead. Yeah. And then she is hiding under her bed and sees her mom get murdered. Yeah. It's a very upsetting scene. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:17 I thought this is a nice intro. Sure. It's fine. I feel like I've seen it eight ways to Sunday. Also, this is me being an idiot. I gotta do something to try and stop the murder that's happening right in front of me. Look, I can't just lay under the bed, I don't think. Have you ever been in that situation? Not judging Donna Kepler. I think you are judging Donna Kepler.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Donna. Donna. But it was a dream? It was a dream, but it wasn't a dream because it had already happened. And then she's talking to her psychologist, psychiatrist, he's like, oh you're going to fuck at the prom? Yeah, I was like, oh, her therapist is so nice. She's like really talking her through this transition in her life. It seems like she's taking really good care of her. And she's like's like, and you're gonna love your prom. And I was like, oh, fuck you then. Who loves their prom? I guess a demographic.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Sure, yeah. Sure. Katie, that just reminded me of a thing that I wanted to do with you. Hold please. Like, go to a formal dance, because I will be there. Really, really, th, th, th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to, to, to. to, like, like, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to, to, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the, the, the, their, the, the be there. I already have those. Other or none. Oh, none. Not that I don't I don't love my cats. But I don't love my cat. But I'm sick of picking up shit. What is your favorite class at Hogwarts? Uh- Hogwarts? Don't know, don't care? Is that a choice? That's choice. Arithmancy? I don't know. Defense against the doghots. Why are you Mark Wahlberg? It's against his defense against his dorkworts.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Astronomy. Care for magical creatures. Herbology. Oh you know that's me. Potions or charms. Mark down herbology. Not the doghots? What's your favorite food? Pudding? I guess that's the British pudding. Anything and everything. No it's a picture of chocolate pudding. Oh for fuck sake. Anything and everything. A tricole tart. Pizza or tacos. I'm a big eater. I'm saying anything and everything. Okay, okay, okay, okay. How many more questions are there? My goodness.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Who is your favorite character or Hogwarts crush? They're teens, none of them. Cho Chang. Draco. Chochang. Trico Malfoy. Harry Potter. Nevel Long Bottom, who grew up to be very attractive. Luna Lovegood, oh, Ginny Weasley, Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger. There's no, don't, no, don't care on this one.
Starting point is 00:09:56 They're all children, I don't want to fuck any of them. Can you skip it? It's just your favorite character. It doesn't say you have to fuck him. Oh I thought it said, gosh. Oh, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. that, th. to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. L. L. L. L. Yeah like that. Oh calculating results here we go. You're gonna wear a devil long bottom dress. Don't know what that means. Katie thanks for taking that quiz with me. No. What? This is so anticlimactic? Fucking prompts, seriously. Always anti-climactic. How many prompts did you go to? One. Just the senior. Nice. How many problems did you go to? Three. Cool guy. No. One of them I was no longer in high school. Oh, you're a grosso.
Starting point is 00:10:42 How many years are we? No, I was still like 18. I was still like, it was the year after I graduated high school. Oh, you're a grosso. How many years are we? I was still like 18. I was still like, it was the year after I graduated high school. It's always, it was always weird when like girls brought guys who'd already graduated. Sure, yeah. Yeah. It wasn't my high school that I was going back to either, which I feel like is even we're yeah. Yeah, you're just a stranger adult that they want to know that. Someone's a weird cousin. So we see, Cut 2, getting your hair done for the prom. Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I've never gotten my, I haven't gotten a haircut professionally since 1995. Okay. I've never gotten my hair done for an event. Have you? Yes. When you get your hair done for an event, is it just people talking about who they want to fuck? Uh, no.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Okay. And they also just like actually do your hair instead of just straightening it, because they all just flat iron the hair and leave. Except for Lisa who looks lovely. And just giggling. Just giggling for hours. Yeah. Did you like when the woman is looking into a mirror and then hands her a mirror to look at her hair?
Starting point is 00:11:45 It's just so she can see the back. They do that so you can see the back. But she didn't spin around. Oh, good point. Oh, right. We see the back, but she's, if I had to go to a school dance, I'd take a colon to tip too. That's just just just just just just just just just just in the mirror in the bathroom and almost takes a colonna pen and I thought Jesus if I had to go to a school dance I'd take a
Starting point is 00:12:05 kalon pin too. A couple of them. Yeah. Take several. So we get one of 113 mirror jumps in this at this point. Donna needs to stop fucking standing in front of open medicine cabinets because every time she closes the door there's a bad guy behind her. Did the the th th th did th did did did did did did did did did did did did did did did did did that that that that that that that that that the that that the that that that the that that the that that that that that that that that that that that that that bad guy had a, oh I can never pronounce his name properly, peeky blinders 28 days later. Silly and Camerphy. Yeah, that kind of vibe to him, like the hard cheekbones and poofy lips. Hard cheekbones, very, very poofy lips. Yeah, I agree. I was like, it's not that bad. Look at me, you know, it's too bad he's crazy. Yeah, just sort of a murdered family, you know, you could do worse.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Yeah, you know, you could do worse than that guy. I mean, you are going to the prom with a man who was 29 years old when you're going to this problem. Oh shit, he's 29. He still looks pretty young. Imagine being 29 and being like, I can pass for being in high school. Yeah. Jesus. 29, I already looked hard. I was going to find a picture of myself when I was 29, you're like, no, you all know that I already looked like a full-blown fucking old man at that point in time.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Yep, yep, yep. It was funny. I realized the other day that like up until like 35 people bother to guess my age anymore. No. No. I had got parted not too long ago and I was like, what? What? Where? I've got like Gandalf hanging off my fucking head. I was going to do some bar and then, uh, me and the dude laughed.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Did you show him your idea or did you say, me and right? We just both laughed. He's like, sir, you're almost 50. Was AARP like? What are you doing here in a bar? That's not for you. Is there an age cut off the bar? He's like, oh, two more years you'd be out of the street. I like that her friends don't get out of the lim the lim their their their their their friends don't their friends don't get out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out. very funny to me. Like her, so Donna now lives with her Aunt Karen and Uncle Jack. You're like real nice people.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Yeah, yeah. You take your mother's see-through shawl to the prom. You're your mom's favorite shawl? She's like, we don't learn until later that Donna has gotten into Brown on a full scholarship. Sure. But her Aunt Karen is hugging her and being like, she'd be so proud. And I was like, she's like, she's to to to to be like, she's to be like, she's to be like, she's to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be like, she's to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the their their their their their mom. the the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. the prom. th. to the the to their to to to like for going to the prom? Anybody can go you're loud. At this point I have the note that says this movie feels like what I assume Dawson's Creek was like. I think it's got a very Dawson's Creeky vibe which is hard because it's also 10 years older than Dawson's Creek. This feels like the late 90s to me. But it isn't. It's 2008. Yeah. It feels concurrent with like idle hands or jawbreaker. Absolutely. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. th. th. th. the. the. the. th. the late 90s to me, but it isn't. It's 2008. Yeah. Yeah. It feels concurrent with
Starting point is 00:14:45 like idle hands or jawbreaker or something like that. Yeah. And I don't know why that. I don't know what it is about that. Maybe it's the fact that they all have cell phones and nobody's ever using them when they should. Or maybe that they're all full blown-ass adults in school like all those movies. Could be be. Then the the the the the the the the their their their their th. That their their their th. That th. That th. That th. That their th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. thi. I tho. I tho. It's them all yelling out of the limo, which reminded me that my friend Colleen of the, oh God, what was that movie called? She was a guest. Oh shit, yes. What was that movie? Ritual, maybe?
Starting point is 00:15:14 No, it wasn't the ritual. Not the ritual. It might have been, yeah. It was a pretty good movie. It was a good movie. It was fine. It was, oh. It was, oh. It was, oh. It was, oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the at the window, or at the top I guess, the whole thing is a window. I would just yell, hey, this is a convertible! People would just look at me. It was, it was a convertible. I was behind a guy today who was driving his convertible. Sorry if you're listening right now. And his license plate, the I was like, oh buddy.
Starting point is 00:15:45 Maybe he's just really into COVID. Oh, I'm an HVAC. Yeah, I want to believe that he's like a HVAC fortune kind of guy. Remember digital cameras? Sure. Yeah. I have one around here somewhere because we were all alive in 2008. And you can't throw it away what he's supposed to do with it. It's like batteries, just like, I don't know what to do with. These are just to put them somewhere for later.
Starting point is 00:16:08 Put him in a ziplock bag under my bed. Use them as a weapon someday. Serious. So then we go to, oh, and there's like a red carpet walk when we get to the prom, which was always the word, like getting like your prom photo taken when you first get there and you're standing in a way that human beings have never stood before. You're like standing up spooning and but why? Yeah, but like enough, like there has to be the distance for the hold of ghosts between you and your partner. Sure, sure. Hand on hip. Um, your hand on my hand, it's very weird, it's very bizarre. And then there was like a split second of Goths getting their photo taken.
Starting point is 00:16:48 I was like, why aren't they the movie? Why aren't I watching them? I would watch the fuck out of Goths prom. Yeah. And I feel like this was just like, let's make fun of Goths for a second. Place his heart, Detective Win. Win. Detective win. No first name.
Starting point is 00:17:10 No, detective. No one calls him anything other than Detective or Win. And I was like, OK, Iljus El-Jalba, you know, you're doing it. I think he's doing great. He's doing an American accent, but as in when I was shocked to find out he was British in the wire, I was like, I can't believe this dude's British. He sounds like he's from Baltimore. And this movie was like, he is barely holding on the taxin.
Starting point is 00:17:32 He think so. I was marveling at his, how I thought it was, I thought, he was, I thought he was pulling it off pretty well, but I have seen. So maybe he can be better. He's incredible in the wire. Okay. I saw an interview with him and he was talking about after he like auditioned for the wire and didn't tell them he was from England. Oh. And like on their like, was he not recognizable at the time? No, he was nobody at the time. Really?
Starting point is 00:17:55 So he's so hot. I just assumed that he's always. So he, like, apparently on the third like callback, they were like, so where are you from? And he was like, he tried like, fuck around, and he's like, I'm sorry, I'm from East London. Yeah. And he started talking to his regular accent. I was like, you're fucking with me right now. Like, he didn't believe that he- He thought that he trying to do like some other American accent Like to kind of like a New York accent or something.
Starting point is 00:18:27 I think he's trying to be just do a tough guy American thing. Yeah, and it was like serious. It was very weird and he also walks like a duck through the entire movie. It's very strange. I couldn't tell if he just had like an ill-fitting suit on or if they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they I love him, and I think he's doing a great job. And I also, to her credit, I think Donna Kett-Bogel isn't that bad. Sure. I thought he was a fine after.
Starting point is 00:18:51 Yeah. The rest of the, as we go down the cast, it starts to fall apart? By the time you get to the boyfriend, the producer's nephew and I'm sure of it? So H.R. Selba tells us the story in the guise of telling it to Detective Nash, who looks like a Seth Green character. He's great, he's also in the wire, season two. Oh, okay. So they're a reunion for them. He's also on the HBO show, Generation Kill, which is great. Oh yeah, Rob really likes that show. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. th. th. thi. the thi. tho, thi. thi. thi. tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, the thi, thi, thi, thi. th. th. th. No. No. No. No. So he's telling the story
Starting point is 00:19:26 about how Donna was being stalked by a teacher who'd become obsessed with her. And then he killed her family. And then she had to come ID him? Which seemed fucking insane to me because he was known to her. She had a restraining order against him. She doesn't have to come in and do a purp walk. Yeah, he also has has to to to to to to to to the the the to their their their their their their their their th. th. th. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. against him. She doesn't have to come in and do a purplock. Yeah, he also has superpowers and can see her through the double-sided mirror. A really good point. I think it's, and they like don't get her out of there very quick. It's just an insane thing to think that they would actually make this child who who had just been through that, do this thing. Seemingly, immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately immediately. like running mascara on her face. Like she can say who it was. Yeah. Yeah, it was my high cheekbone teacher. He tried to kill me.
Starting point is 00:20:08 The one I have a restraining order against. Remember earlier? That's the one. Yeah. And how does Detective Nash not know of this story? Like how big of a town is this? He looks very young. Maybe this. thi. A. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. the. thi. the. the. th. th. th. th. I guess. Can we talk about my favorite character in this movie? Lisa? DJ Tyler! What did I just decide my DJ name was going to be? It was better than DJ Tyler. Oh DJ Holly Ghost. What was your DJ name be? Oh I don't know I feel like I'm the the MC?'m I'm the rapper if you're the DJ, right?
Starting point is 00:20:45 That's fine. That's the way it's got to work. Yeah, I want to be in the background. Yeah, I'm on the front guy. I'm up there. Yes, you're a yes, you're a friend. I'm playing bass. No one looks at me. It's the best way. You don't play any the thin. It's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the way. the way. the way. the way. the way. the way. the way. the way. the way. Yeah. Yeah. the way. the way. the way. the way. the way. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. DJ Tyler is the most generic and he's just like he's just like playing whoop there it is. Imagine what your life is when you're a prom DJ. You're in that scary booth that's really high up. Yeah. I wonder if DJ Tyler's anybody. Let's find out. DJ Tyler, you're anybody? tiej. not even on the Wikipedia. No, it did not make the cut. He's got a lot of lines, DJ Tyler does.
Starting point is 00:21:28 It's just true. We spend a lot of time with DJ Tyler. The Bellhop gets credited, but no DJ Tyler. You mean baby Ed Helms? What's that? Belhop had such an Ed Helms voice I couldn't take it. I called that. I that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that take it. I called him Ed Helms Jr. throughout my notes. Katie, you're not going to believe this. The killer is at the hotel, where the prom's happening.
Starting point is 00:21:56 That seems crazy. It seems wild. It took three days, he'd been in jail, or excuse me, a mental institution yeah prison style in California for the criminally insane that's the words I was desperately grasping metal institution prison style he breaks out prison style was written in pink graffiti fun underneath it just says I love nuts which is a reference to the Patreon episode we just recorded which most people won't get funny jokes. He has escaped and it takes three days for the local PD to be notified.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Uh-huh, doesn't sound right. He's gotten a haircut, shaved his beard off, looks good? No one can recognize him. No, because he's wearing a baseball cap and a fucking suit jacket. Yeah, he's got a blazer on now, so he's a different guy. It's also crazy because like did he look like, I mean he looks like Charles Manson in his mugshot. Sure, for sure. Did he look like that as a teacher? I guess so. Okay. Okay. Professor Manson. What's his name? Fenton? Fenton? Richard Fenton. Dick Fenton. So I'm like, I'm starting to be like, okay, all right, so Jason Street's gonna be turned out to be this guy's brother and he's gonna kill her.
Starting point is 00:23:07 That would have been a great twist. I figured it was gonna be like, uh, uh, Will Benson. From, I know who, what you did last summer, part two. Holy shit, that movie. Is that what you was talking about. I just think about the name Will Benson Ben's son all the time Oh man, imagine writing a movie on a four martini lunch Sounds great So there's like a prom queen subplot happening? That takes up quite a bit of the film of who is going to be prom queen? Does it end up mattering? No, no, it does not. No, because they Yeah, because they yeah, it doesn't. Yeah, it th, yeah, it th, yeah, it th, it th, yeah, it th, it th, yeah, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, it th, th, it th, th, th, th, th, th, thi thi, the thi thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, all th, all th, all th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes thi. thi. thi. is going to be prom queen, does it end up mattering? No, it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:23:46 It does not. No, because they, yeah. It doesn't. It's either going to be Lisa or the other lady. The blonde girl, not our blonde girl, a different blonde girl. The blonde girl that they've always hated. Because she's a bitch. Or whatever. They do call a couple other names when they call the prom queens up to the stage.
Starting point is 00:24:10 And I was like, what about Katie Higgins? Why can't she be fucking prom, Lisa? So that's happening. Uh-huh. And then they're at the prom. They've got a suite at the hotel, which like, how the fuck did they afford that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's bigger that's bigger than than than than than than th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. It's bigger, it's bigger, it's bigger, it's bigger, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, th. They's, thi. They's, th. They th. They they they they they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're their their their their their their. They're they're they're they're they're they're they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, their. They're, th, th, th, their. They're th. th. th. th. their. thi. thi. tha. thooooooooooo. their their their their their their their their their their. which like, how the fuck did they afford that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's bigger than most apartments I've ever lived in. I just got a hotel room to go to Delaware, and I was like, God damn hotel rooms are expensive. So expensive.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Two hundred bucks for one night? Get out of here. I don't know if it's because Airbnb's because Abbinbis exist or what? I just remember back of the day like getting like a $50 hotel room. And it not being that terrible. No, no, and you can smoke in it. After you smoked on the airplane to get there. Yeah. So the murderers in the hotel, the proms in the hotel, this like this like, uh, what's the cheerleader movie? All cheerleaders die? No, no, no, no, the, the, the, the, bring it on. Yes, it's like, got this like, bring it on subplot of like,
Starting point is 00:25:14 the white blonde girl and then like, the African-American girl that are going head to head to be the prom queen. And the white girls being mean to the blacker tie tits tie tits tie tie tie tits tie tie tie tie tie tie ti tie tie ti ti ti ti ti tie tie tie tie tie tie tie too too tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes, tooes. tooes. tooes. tooes, tooes. tooes. too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, th. th. the, the, the, the. the. the. the. the. the the thooooooooooooooooooo. too. too. to be the prom queen. And the white girls being mean to the black girl about the tits being out, you know, tits look fucking fantastic. Even though literally everybody's tits are hanging out. It is a tiddy town up in there. Claire and her college plans are being lightly discussed. It's like, I have time for all of these plots. I'm just here for the boobs. But it's just like, so they're trying to like shoe-worn all this shit to make anything interesting to see if anything's gonna stick that you'll be interested in? Nothing, nothing. Nothing. There's all this talk about teens
Starting point is 00:25:51 fucking. Yeah. And then like you see like light heavy petting and moves on. Light heavy petting is a great phrase. But then when Lisa runs out, Ronnie Ronnie puts away in a ring and I was like, ooh, were you getting engaged in high school? That's disgusting! Ronnie, you're the quarterback, you're going to state or whatever. And who didn't think Ronnie was gonna be Prompt King? No, Ronnie's clear. There's not even a competition for Promking. It's definitely not gonna be the blonde guy or the other blonde guy.
Starting point is 00:26:22 Can I tell you a thing that I hated in this movie? Please, that's why we're here. And you can tell me if I'm way off base on this. So there's the teacher that when they first get in there is talking about how beautiful Lisa is. Lisa is so beautiful. I thought she was just being kind. She was being kind. And then they announce her as the gym teacher as the is like, oh she loves, she's in love with you. Yeah. So she's the short-haired gym teacher who's in love with you and I was like, really? Yeah. How's her stereotypes doing? How's that going? Also hated that. Okay good. So I wasn't like totally off base with that. Which is, I don't know, it's it's Ms. Water. She's the only teacher. She's they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th th thi thi. the. the. theateateateateate. the only theateateateate. th th th th th th. the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's th. She's the. theateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateateate. She's th. She's th. th fire the guy with the restraining order and the murderer. Nobody else has to be shaperoning the problem. No other adults there. It's DJ Tyler? Who is, I don't know, 60? All of this DJ Tyler. He's old. He's too old for this gig. What else is he gonna be doing on a probably Thursday night? He's just the right age. So yes, Claire gets killed. One of the problems with this movie is the deaths are very, right, right, right, right, right, right, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It th. It's th. It's, th. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's the the the the the the thi, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's. It's, it's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, the the the t. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. J. t. The problem, one of the problems with this
Starting point is 00:27:25 movie is that the deaths are very vanilla. Oh yeah, there's like nondescript as hell. And the movie like wants to ignore the fact that humans have blood in their bodies. Do they know? Because he kills everyone with a knife and there's not a drop of blood anywhere. Only when it's like stuck to his knife. Maybe they'll have thick blood. Maybe maybe their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. Maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, thi thi. Maybe, they'll have rule thick blood. Maybe, maybe. Maybe there's not a lot of water being drunk in this town. No. Maybe they're all just really dehydrated. A bunch of thick-blooded teens right around.
Starting point is 00:27:53 That's when Michael was walking around drinking from a rocks glass. I was like, are you just to him, he's almost 30. Oh, is that what she wants to go to state with him next year? And he's like, please don't. But like, yes, go to college so you can have sex with other people. That's why you go. Sure.
Starting point is 00:28:17 It's a bigger pool of people. That's right. And then I wrote, I can't wait for a wheelchair quarterback to die. Then we see the killer up in the suite, deleting all of the pictures of her with her boyfriend from the digital camera, which is just like super petty. When he's just looking at pictures of her and he's like, yeah, yeah, and then one of her and Jason Street comes up and he's like, no, no. Delete and the things like, beep, beep. Also, why did Maria and the bellhop have to die?
Starting point is 00:28:51 Why didn't anyone notice that the bellhop was dead? Sure. He'd been gone a long time too. Yeah. Yeah. Also, didn't he look like eight ball from, uh, the movie that we just did two weeks ago with the... He was a German... A German... A ape-all. Coked out, stuards.
Starting point is 00:29:11 Yeah, Mum's Ferratu. He did have an A-Paul-to. He had a very eight-ball quality about him. He probably needed to be more eight-ball and he'd still be alive and a vampire. Yeah. But I just like, I was like, I was like, what is our motivation here, murder man? He's just killing everyone. Are you just going to murder the entire earth until it's just you and Donna Kepler left? It does seem like that's his idea.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Yeah. He kills Michael, who is a real Dildo with the face of like a sixth grader. He looks like a child. Michael is, everyone knew this guy in high school. Yeah. It just wants to rule his girlfriend's life. Yeah. Not a good. Not a good guy. Not a good look, Michael. Also I talk about this a lot on this show but like acting against no one, you know. He has to do a very long scene of this and he is terrible.
Starting point is 00:29:58 Sure. Yeah. Terrible. He and another person help him carry that acting bucket. Yeah. They weren't there. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. him, carry that acting bucket. Yeah. They weren't there. Yeah. No. Huh? But luckily, uh, Michael's dead. Yeah, it's fine. By the today.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Where is his body? I don't know. Do we ever see it again? Yeah, doesn't it fall out of a cabner? But that's the bellhop, I think. Is that okay? Because that's when he realizes, oh, that's why no one noticed the bellhop was missing was because He hit him. The killer had taken the clothes. Yeah, and walked out. I'm the bellhop now dog. In Idris Elba's flashback. So much this movie happens in dreams and or remembering a thing you were not acting. Yeah, what that's called as imaginations. So we go go go go go go go go back th th th that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the that's the the that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that's the that's the that's the the that's that's that's that's called as imaginations. So we go back to this prom queen subplot where Chrissy is the blonde girl's name. Okay, okay, that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:30:51 Who has a line that I really liked about her blonde boyfriend where she's like, if he were any dumber, I'd have to water him. Yeah, that's a good line. That's a good bus and definitely her mom said that to her about her boyfriend. Oh yeah. She just that she she she she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just she just just just she just just she just she just she just just she just just just just just just just just just she just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. She she she's. She she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's Oh yeah, she just tucked it away for later. And then Lisa's talking about how she wants to be a prom queen for honor, respect of my peers. Fuck off. Go fuck yourself. That's just how Lisa is. You know, she loves honor and respecting of her peers.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Did you like that when they got three room keys they only gave them to the men in the group? Why they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they had they had they they they had they had they they had to to to to their respect to to to to to their respect their respect their respect of their respect of their respect of respect their respect their respect their respect respect respect respect respect respect respect respect respect respect respect. Did. Did. Did. Did. Did. Did. Did. Did their respect their their respect their their their their their they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their. to their to their. their to their to their. to to to the men in the group? I did. Why? So they can hold them for the women who cannot have respect of their peers or honor. They had to go powder their noses though so they got them, they got them anyway. Then they do a waw-wha high school moment. Oh yeah. I'm really gonna miss you guys. No one tell to thrown thi. tho. tho. their tho. tho. tho. their tho. their tho. tho. tho. their tho. their their tho. tho. their their their their their their their their their their tooes their their their their their their their their their their their their to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their tho. tho. toe. to. toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. their their's really sad the prom. No, literally no one has ever told me that. To everybody who's listening to this that's in high school right now? Yeah. Are you in high school? Don't, don't listen. It gets better.
Starting point is 00:31:51 Oh yeah. Things get better. And if they don't get better, like, if you thinne. tooo' the quarterback of a high school football team for four years. You know what I mean? Yeah, you can't keep that job. You cannot keep that job. Oh man. It's like when, yeah, never thear.
Starting point is 00:32:14 So the hotel guy that looks like 8-Ball is like going to look for Maria, the housekeeper, and he sees, what's his face? Fenton? Fenton, the hfen, the hfen, the hfen, thenton, thin, thin, thin, thin, thine, thine, thine, thine, thine, th. thu, thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thi, thi, thi, thus, the ha, thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi. Oh, thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. Oh, tooom. Oh,enton. In the hallway. And he's like, have you seen a housekeeper up here? And instead of just being like, no, sorry, you haven't seen her. He kills this guy. Well, not only that, he comes out of one room and goes into another room, and the guy's like, well, that's a perfectly normal if you're wearing a sports coat and a baseball hat, I'm suspecting you of something. You're doing something.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Do you think just like white collar crime? Maybe, like, hmm, you've diversified your stock portfolio right now, Mr. that's not a crime, that's good financial advice. I know, Wu Tang told me that. Meanwhile, DJ Tyler has taken a break and there's, and there, and there, and there, and there's, and there's, and there's, and there's, and there's, and there's, there's, and there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, there's, thi me that. Meanwhile, DJ Tyler has taken a break and there's like a video yearbook on the screen. We cut back to the video yearbook and it's a picture of Bobby and it says favorite subject social studies and then we cut to Bobby and he's like, oh yeah, I do love social studies. Bobby is Jason Street for all of you following along home. Just fucking love social studies.
Starting point is 00:33:27 But like the camera like the photo spins into focus. It's so tomb. I love it. I couldn't believe that Ronnie was going to ask Lisa to marry him. That's, I cannot believe that. That's gross. Man, oh man, oh man, oh man of shivitz. Interesting because they're all talking about their post high school plans and Lisa does not talk about hers. I don't know where she's going. Maybe she was just expecting to marry Ronnie
Starting point is 00:33:51 and be freshman wives. We were merely fresh wives. So they go upstairs to fuck, I guess, even though the prom queen announcement is happening in mere moments and she is like so nervous about it? We'll be back in five minutes. Give us 15. I was like, yeah, that sounds like, yeah, that sounds like high school sex. They get in the elevator and they run into the killer. And Lisa just looks at him like, I know him. He killed your best friend's family. He was your teacher. He was your teacher. I forgot he was her teacher who murdered her
Starting point is 00:34:31 best friend's family and she said, God he just something about him looks familiar. He just doesn't have a beard. What is wrong with you? Every time I shave my beard off you like, hello, I'm Katie. H. to stop doing that when I get my bangs trimmed. It's just like... Oh, hey, I'm Alan. How are you? Yeah. Uh-huh. So those people must have been standing on stage for a really long time. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:57 That's so embarrassing. Just do it without her. Luckily Ronnie finally shows up. They're like running all over the hotel looking for Lisa and it's like it seems like it's too late. Like how long are they gonna let this presentation of prom royalty go on for? I know it's the B plot, but how long do we need? I love that that's the B plot, and the cops trying to find the murderer is like the L plot. Seriously, it is way down the alphabet. So Idris, Duck Walk and Elba sets off a fire
Starting point is 00:35:29 alarm right as they're about to announce the prom king and queen. Which is so devastating for Chrissy. Chrissy can't handle it because then she opens up the envelopes and it's Ronnie and Lisa. Which means nothing to anyone. It matters for no purpose. And you have to be like, who? Right, right, right, right. Right. Really? They say they say their. Because, their. Because, their. Because, their. Because, their. Because, their. Because, their. Because, their. Because, their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their duck. their duck. D. D. D. D. D. Right. Really? They say their names a billion times. This is a movie where I had no trouble with people's names. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I think it's Keppler. I think it's Kepple. Hey Donna. Hey Donna. Donna. Donna. It's like. It's like everyone. It's like. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's like. It's. It's. They's. They's. They's. They. They. They. They. They. They's. They's. They's. It's. It's. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. It's like. they's like. they're they're they say. they say. they say. they say. they say. they say. they say. they say. they say. they, is it? Oh, I'm thinking. It is. No, it is. It's Kepple. It's good, yep, yep, yep. Kepler, let's go with that. Take it up with whoever wrote this piece of shit. I'm sure it was Donna Keppel. It was written by J.S. Cardone. Oh, this is a Cardone. He wrote the Covenant. Okay, of course. The Slayer and Shadow Zone and the Forsaken.
Starting point is 00:36:32 Oh, the Forsaken, no. The stepfather. Wait, which stepfather? Oh, okay, not the 1980 stepfather. No. Why he's written a lot of movies. I've seen one of them and it is Prom Night 2008. Oh and Citizen Came. Oh yeah Citizen Came too. Still sledding.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Anyway. So Idrisal was like pulled the fire alarm and now they're doing a sweep of the hotel because they know that they got the guy in the hotel. There's no way you got out of the hotel. Right. This is after he's killed Lisa in the pigeon area of the hotel, which is an area so easy for guests. Which is an area so easy for guests to access. You're going. Yeah, they took an comes up on the elevator and he's like, Lisa, you in there? Like, anyone can get in there.
Starting point is 00:37:28 Yeah, they didn't lock that floor off? They find Lisa and everyone's responses, oh, jeez. Oh, jeez. Oh, that's a shame. It's basically like, oh, the paperwork. This sucks. We're going to stay to stay to stay to stay to stay to stay to stay to stay to stay to to to to to to to to to to to to thue tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thi tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. ththis sucks. We're gonna stay late tonight. But like really doesn't make sense to evacuate everyone?
Starting point is 00:37:49 Why not keep her at the dance? Like, he's not gonna run into the middle of the dance floor. Grab her and take her away somewhere. Yeah. Maybe not. But it's her prom, and it's like super special and important. It's the best day of your life. Your life is going to be downhill after one to three proms. Which was the best of the three you attended, one, two or three? They all kind of sucked. I think after the second one, which was my senior prom, smells like teen-spirited
Starting point is 00:38:16 hit. And I remember that we had a little mosh pit playing that dance. Oh, that's really cool. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Donna goes back up to get the shawl, which is like, what if the fucking hotel was on fire? Yeah. That's my dead mom's. that's your dead mom's sheer shawl. Yeah. Sheer shawl redemption. So the, I don't understand Fenton. No. He's just wandering up and down the elevator. Literally all he does is go down down to the ballroom up to the suite. Down to the ballroom, up to the suite. What's so great about Donna Kepler? What is this man's motivation? Well, Donna Keppel. Very pretty. Sure, going to Brown. Going to Brown must be smart. Yeah, uh-huh. Seems nice. A little naive. Sure. Got a cool scar.
Starting point is 00:39:08 That's it. So we head back to Donna's home with... No, but first, okay, so first he attacks her in the suite and he like hatchets through the door. With a fire extinguisher, yeah, yeah. Oh right. She just holds her head and screams despite the fact that there are phones like probably next to the toilet in that sweet. There have got to be phones all over that fucking place. And then she pulls a total Donna move. Was her, gets on the bed? Was her, gets on the bed. Claire is a full-size person. She gets under the bed and then suddenly looks to the side and there's Claire and it's
Starting point is 00:39:47 like no you saw you crawled under there you saw fucking Claire's body. I want to shout out to Claire's like knee length prom dress. I was really feeling that dress. It's a very cute dress. It's like an empire waist dress. She was giving me Lindsay Lohan vibes with the red hair and the yeah and you know how I feel about Lindsay had kind of a husky voice too. Yeah yeah, Claire wasn't fucking around yeah Claire rules. Um it's then that somehow they think to check the suite to see if Donna's there or like no Donna had told like the blonde guy that she was going back up to the suite and so Idris Elba hears this and he's like oh oh we should have a the th a a a th a ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch ch a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the th. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the thi. the the the thi. the thi. the thi. thi. thi. th. th. th., oh we should have checked there. Yeah, she has a fucking key to it.
Starting point is 00:40:25 You talking about Twilight when he's like, uh, they will pick up stairs? Yeah, and then he gets yelled at by quarterback. I didn't know I had to tell you. You're a boyfriend, you should know where she is. This is high school. That's, I guess we see Michael's body because I wrote, oh, Michael, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, thi, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th, th, th, th, oh Michael hardly knew ye and hardly care. The only thing he had gone for him is he had a flask.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Yeah. The only like that was, and I bet that was a large part of his personality. Having a flask, yeah. I haven't known as it says Detective Nash. I haven't known as it's Detective Nash. Oh man, poor Nash. So okay so they're in the hotel and they're like, it's Idryselba, Detective Nash, some uniformed cops, and then a bunch of firefighters?
Starting point is 00:41:11 And they're all like, yeah, let's go get them. And I was like, did you deputize the, just because they're first responders, doesn't mean they're equipped to handle a serial killer. These are heroes. It's very silly. It's very silly. And then the whole thing of like, Donega's home, they're like, all right, you gotta put some cops around the house.
Starting point is 00:41:32 You guys sit in your cars and like, look at stuff. And also, don't put any cops inside the house. Like perhaps in the living room right by the front door. By the front door, maybe a good idea. I would be a good the idea, I would be good idea, I would be good th, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be good, I would be a th. I would be a th. I would be a th. I would th. I'd th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. the. the. the.. I would like that. And also, Detective Nash just asks Uncle Jack, how many entrances are there to this house? Fucking walk around and look for entrances? Yeah, Bozo, it's your job. You need to probably have a cop on each of them. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Meanwhile, the aunt and uncle are watching. When you generic newscast her name go. Gina was spelled J-E-E-N-A. Gina, tina. Gina Sainter, oh man. And Donna and Jason Street upstairs, snuzzling in bed. And she's having some bullshit dream. She's like, I'm gonna go to the bathroom. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:42:24 She's watching Can't Hardly Wait, which I appreciate as an actual great movie about high school. Fatal mistake in any movie, don't watch a movie that's better than your movie in your movie. I think that's a great point. Yeah, I think it's a really good point. Yeah, because now I'm like we should just done can't hardly wait again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. Again. It. It's. It's. It's. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. I's, I's, I's, I's, I'm, I's, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I's, I'm, I's, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I'm Wait, and it isn't, it's 10 years later. Yeah. So she's like, I'm going to pee and he's like, okay, bye. I would not pee by myself after I'd been attacked. No, you're at least standing outside the door while I'm peeing. You're standing, holding my hand.
Starting point is 00:42:56 You're wiping my tasks, you're holding my to have a piss hand? Why do I start peeing on my hand? The room's gonna be filled with pee. I could just cup it in my hand and then throw it like a god damn monkey? What is wrong with you? I'm not the one forcing other people in. I'm sorry, I made you laugh. I got some dental work done this week and my face is all swollen and it hurts me to laugh. My stupid friends thin. Making me laugh. My stupid friend's at a stupid thing and it made me laugh and now he's stupid and I hate him. You're not stupid, you're a delight. Anyway, Bobby's pretty
Starting point is 00:43:34 stupid. But it was it was all a dream that she had to go to the bathroom and then she wakes up and has to go to the bathroom which I fucking hate when you're like I'm when you....... I the dream. I the dream. I th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. th. th. I'm th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And th. And thi. And thi. And thi. And thi. And thi. And thi. And th. And thi. And thi. And thi. And I get a pee and then you wake him you're like oh no I have to be yeah but she does all the same steps she opens the curtains he's detective Nash not patrolling just staring into the ether I guess thinking about him he's used to be on the wire and now he's in this where has his career gone at least Indraselb is here and she's like doesn't notice that a Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's like he's like he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's like he's he's he's like he's like he's like he's like he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he he he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like like like like he's like like he's like like like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's he's he's that, uh, Bobby is definitely dead already. Because no blood comes out of him. No, thick-blooded people. How is that, even when she rolls him over.
Starting point is 00:44:12 I mean, we should say they are all murdered via the neck where all the blood she's. Yes. That's where your blood lives. Yeah. Yeah. At this point, though, you're like Bobby has really outstayed as welcome. You know, sure. Yeah. Yeah, so I refer to when we find Nash dead in the front yard and I'm like, oh, Nash Cash.
Starting point is 00:44:35 That's, and then we find Bobby dead, my note was, oh Bobby got a Nash cash too. So I guess neck wounds are now referred to as Nash Cash's. I like that. I like that quite a bit. Well, I'm trying to work on my branding. No, I think that's good. The aunt and uncle screamed because there's a dead cop in the backyard. Yeah. Yeah. And, uh, I don't know. That's it.
Starting point is 00:44:59 that's it. Pretty much. I've one last note that says well now at least she doesn't have to go to state. I guess because Bobby's dead. This is all an elaborate plan to be able to go to Brown. So there's like a scene where she's in the closet but Fenton is in there as well because we found out that he's a master hideer. There's a lot well it's always the closet though. He's always been in the closet. But that baseball cab is like a fucking invisibility cloak for him speaking of Harry Potter earlier. I already forgot that that was this episode. Yeah, there are so many shots of in closets, looking into closets. They don't really pay off very often. No. No, no. I mean that's this movie. She finally fights back. She finally fights them. And th. They the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the mean, that's this movie. She finally fights back, she finally fights against Fenton, and then Idrselba kills him. Just shoots him, movie ends. Although it looked like there was going to be more movie in the credits, and I was hoping
Starting point is 00:45:54 you were going to watch that for me. Nah! I had enough of this film. Yeah. Here's the problem with this movie. Okay, I'd I I I I I I I'd th I'd th I'd th. th. th. th. th. th. tha I'd tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha' tha' tha' tha' thathe. that tho. thoom. thoom. thoom. tho. tho. tho. thoom. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. tha. the. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. tha. tha. th problem with this movie. Okay, I'd like to know. It's not bad enough to be funny. It's just super bland. Yeah, it's an exercise in mediocrity. It's not even that.
Starting point is 00:46:12 It's like, they're not even excer- It's like a walk in mediocrity. It's a slow stroll around the block holding a water bottle in mediocrity. It's in 10,000 steps and getting four and being like fuck it. It's in the thousands. I was just like, dog watch urban legend. Yes. Watch. Prom night perhaps. Yeah well I'm like I'm thinking the movies that that feel like this era of film. Also 1998. Right. Exactly. Yeah. I know what you did last summer is better than this. One hand oh. Because it's a good movie. It feels like it's it's in the th. It's in the th. It's in th. It's in th. It's in the th. It's in th. It's in the th. It's in the th. It's in the th. It's in the th. I know what you did last summer is better than this. One hendow, because it's a good movie. It feels like it was, yeah, it's aping a movie from 10 years ago. Go. I still know what you
Starting point is 00:46:53 did last summer is better than this. Yes! It's watchable. I mean it's worth it for, yeah, it's worth it for... Yeah, Brandy. Yeah, go ahead. When the sneakers pop out of the dryer, Brandy and she goes, love when they do that. Remember that? You like that a lot. It's very silly because it happens twice. If it's good ones, it's good twice. Yeah, of course. That's the pop-tart theory of everything. Katie. Speaking of giving, let's give this little rating.
Starting point is 00:47:26 You go first. All right, this is trash, this gets a zero. It's awful. Zero. See, I think it's not bad enough to be a zero. I think the fact that it isn't bad enough to be a zero makes it a zero. Think about that's a little heartbreaking. Sure. The main players anyway. Sure. But I feel like the everything around it was not. I mean, think about the original problem, like the movie that has namesake alone, nothing
Starting point is 00:47:57 else. Right. There was that great guy that just got high and drove a van around and then wanted to make out with that girl. She was like, yeah, let's do this. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That was a a th. Yeah. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. th. Yeah that was a great scene. They were great. Yeah. Yeah. Jamie Lee Curtis is like, you know, I love dancing. How about I do that for 30, 35 minutes? Hi kicks! How about if like you can't afford Donner Summer so you play like some of Donna? That's right. Summa Donna Keppel. So you're going to give it a one? Yeah. One in a zero. And one in a zero.
Starting point is 00:48:34 Don't watch this movie. Oh, don't bother. I'm glad it's leaving Netflix. Netflix was like, what have we done? This is taken a valuable space. Prom season's pretty much over by now. Prom is the spring, you fool. Yeah, exactly. The thing about prom season is there's always another one around the corner. The thing about prom season, no matter how old I get, prom stays the same. Yeah. Katie. Can I read you a message from a patron? Oh, Katie. Can I mean I read you a message from a patron? Oh, oh. This is from Yo patron. I would love to hear a message from a patron. Oh, oh, this is from Yoji.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Hi, Yoji says, hey guys. Hi, just signed up on Patreon, wanting to hear the bonus episodes. I may be a bit of a weirdo among your listeners since confession time. I don't even really like horror movies very much. And neither do I most of the time. Just kidding. I haven't seen 95% of the films you discuss. That's a lot. That's a lot to then give us money for doing it. For sure. But I became an Allen fan listening to Marveling at Marvel's Marvels. I still can't believe they let me name that podcast that. And mishearing him when he left. And I became an werewolf ambulance fan, hearing Katie and Alan's constant, witty banner
Starting point is 00:49:48 and found myself laughing along to every episode. Oh, thank you. Hearing your genuine support for each other is something that I very much need in my life right now, and as a reminder that good things and good people exist. Oh my God, Yogi. Oh, we're here if you need us. Reach out.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Yeah, for sure. Yeah, and we're here for each other. Yeah, for sure. There's an aside here. Yeah. As an aside, my wife and I run a pie and pastry company in St. Paul, I'm assuming Minnesota. One of the coolest people on the planet? If you guys are, for some reason, ever in the Twin Cities, let me know and I will personally feed you pies.
