Starting point is 00:00:11 today. Did that? Did it? Did ? Did ?
Starting point is 00:00:21 Did you ? I got some of it? Yeah. Okay, good. Are we going all that? I got some of it, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, good. Yeah. Are we going into this? Yeah, here's a fun activity to do if you have a small child. Go.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Put on that song, Venga Boys, we like to party with your small child and your partner in the room, and then just leave the room. Stick them with what's about to happen. Is it just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just thia thia thia thiiiiia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia to goa to goa to goa to goa to bea to goa to goa to goa to goa to goa to goa to goa to goa to go go go go go go go. Area toea the room. Stick them with what's about to happen. Is it just like, does it just trigger a child to go insane? Absolutely, it is like cocaine for small children. It's like, today, it's like, oral cocaine. Yeah. But then the problem is that even if you're hiding out in the bathroom, you'll still get it stuck in your head. Sure. Sure. D-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-t-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t-t- Can I tell you that I only know that song from being at a great adventure sick flags commercial
Starting point is 00:01:26 where an old man and scary makeup was dancing to it. That is exactly where you should know that song from. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's never gotten to a verse or bridge or chorus. Gotcha. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think a hot move is introducing to your child to all of the most annoying songs in the world. I think we're going to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do the the the thub something thub something thu thu thu thu that's that's that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's. That is that's. That is that's that's that is that is that is that is that is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the th. the the the the. the the. the the. the the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that's the the that's the theean. the. the. yeah, yeah. I think a hot move is introducing to your child to all of the most annoying songs in the world. So I think we're going to do tub-thumping next. I was just going to say it's tub-thumping on the menu. Absolutely. She's too young for last caress by the Misfits. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, remember the line? Yeah, yeah, I did. Too young, too young.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Mm-mm. I'm too young for that song, Jesus Christ. Anyway, why are we here? Katie, we're here to talk about a horror film. What film is it? It's one that you picked. It is. Scary stories to tell in the dark. So, do you have any experience of these books?
Starting point is 00:02:29 I was thinking about this. I do not. I did not read them when I was a kid. Wasn't a big reader. That will shock no one. Actually, I think that would shock a lot of people. I didn't start reading until I was like 19. It's a weird time to get into it because I feel like if you haven't been reading by the time you're 19 the chances that you will start are pretty low. Yeah and now if you go to my good reads you can see I'm a voracious reader. Always reading.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Always be reading. Yeah. B. the art. How about you? Did you have history with these books? Oh yeah? thethe three box set of scary stories to tell in the dark. I love the art. I know, but what happened was they, all these original printings had the art. And then I guess at some point in the 2000s kids got too soft, you know? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:17 So they re-published them all but I think it's just like way less scary art. Oh, because the art was soops creepy. I mean, insane, yeah. Yeah. Like, Google image search, scary stories to tell in the dark tattoos. Oh, that's wild. I mean, even just the first vignette that we get in this Herald, the OG art for that, which they did a really good job of mimicking in the movie, is fucking terrifying. Why her's legs so spayed?
Starting point is 00:03:51 I don't know, but he is fucking terrifying. And I don't know, this movie, I guess my question to you would be like, well, I'm just, I guess my question to you would be like, me back up. Did you see the Mortal Kombat movie that came out like last year or two years ago? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So like, that movie I felt relied so heavily on people having experienced the game. Because if you had never played the game, you'd be like, what the fuck is this? As I was, as I watched that movie. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:25 I was one, I felt like this was also very, just so referential that, to maybe to its detriment, I wondered if you had potentially felt the same way about this. I can tell you, no, I did not. Because I feel like these stories are almost like urban legend level. They feel like, oh, I think I heard, it's like a hook man, hookhand man story, like it's on that like level sort of thing. And I felt like I'd heard something like these stories before. The high beam story is definitely in one of these collections.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Oh, is it? Yeah. Yeah, because he collected story. It's not like, he might have written them for the books, but they're collected from like folklore and stuff???.................. the the their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,. It's not like he might have written them for the books, but they're collected from folklore and stuff. Is that true? Yeah, it's labeled as collected from folklore and retold by Alvin Schwartz. Nice. Killed it, Schwartz. Yeah. So like, when I was a kid, this was, I feel at its peak popularity. And they even did this thing in my community where we had dark in
Starting point is 00:05:27 the park where they would just build a giant bonfire in the community park and then someone would tell the children's stories from these books. What? Yeah? That's awesome. I was like, oh, does that still happen? Katie. Katie. I think I live right next to a park. I'm sure they wouldn't let us have a fire. We could definitely do this. I th th this. I th th this. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi. te. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. their. their. their their their their live right next to a park. I'm sure they wouldn't let us have a fire. We could definitely do this. We could rent one of the pavilions that has a grill. Oh shit, we can make like dogs and stuff while people are listening to scary stories. going to have to do this, I meant to sign up for a Google voicemail account for us. Oh shit, yes. People could call in and let us know if they'd be interested in coming to Highland Park
Starting point is 00:06:16 in the dark. Curried to the bridges in Highland Park are intact. For now. For now. For now. So anyway, the movie. So why do you think they chose to set this movie in 1968? I don't know. The Vietnam War backdrop is a very interesting choice.
Starting point is 00:06:44 What do you think? I think that's, that feels like, apparently the screenplay is based on, like a treatment by Guillemol de Toro. He did not write the screenplay, but I think he like fleshed out the ideas. And so setting something against the backdrop of a war seems like something he would do and has done 100 times over. So, yeah, so, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, like, like, would do and has done a hundred times over.
Starting point is 00:07:05 So that makes sense. That is kind of his thing. But it's effective. It works. Yeah, I feel like, I mean, maybe I just don't consume a lot of war material, but like you don't see a lot of the Vietnam War on television or in movies or am I just missing it? I think that's your age? Because when I that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's their that's that's their their that's that's their. their. that's their. that's that's that's that's that's their. that's. that's. that's. that's. their. thi. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's their their their their th. I'm th. I'm their th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th when I was in high school, everything was Vietnam. There were like at least, there was at least two TV shows on that were about the Vietnam War, China Beach, and then another one.
Starting point is 00:07:36 And then there were like a ton of like Vietnam War movies that were coming out around that time. So I think we're just in a, in a, there's not a lot of, yeah, currently there is not a lot of that stuff.......... Yeah, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th. the, th. th. the, the, th. the, the, the, th. the, the, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, the, the, the, the, th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they. they. they. they. there's, they. there was, there was, like, there was, there was, like, there was, there was, there was, there, there, there. there. coming out around that time. So I think we're just in a, in a, there's not a lot of, yeah, currently there is not a lot of that stuff. Yeah, one of our characters is a draft dodger. And then at the end of the movie, he gets on the bus to go to the war, and I'm like, am I supposed to feel good about this? Because I don't. It felt like the, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, to, the, the, to to to to the, to the, the, the, the, the, the, to, the, the, th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th, th. th is is is is is is is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the. they. the. the, they. the. the. the, the, the, they. the, they. there's, oh fuck, in the faculty that what's her face has when she her hair gets blonde at the end of the moment. Yes. Yes. She turns into like a twin set cardigan wearing. Normal girl.
Starting point is 00:08:20 It was like, dog, you already dodged. What are you doing? What are you doing? So this is set. I was going, oh. I was. I, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, um, that, um, um, um, um, um, um, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, um, um, that, um, that, um, that, that, that, that, what, what, what, what, what, what, what's, um, what's, what's, um, what's, um, what's, um, what's, what's, um, what's, what's, um, what's, what's, um, what's, what's, what's, um, what's, what's, what's, um, you already dodged? What are you doing? Why are you going back? What are you doing? So this is set... I was going to say, giving him a switchplate, kind of in poor taste. I agree. I do agree. But then I also thought, Alan's a knife guy, he probably likes this. Sorry, what were you going to say? Oh, I was just going to say that this film is set in Mill mill mill mill in mill in mill in mill in mill in mill, the the the thau, thau, thau, ththeau, ththeau, thtttttttttttttttttttttttt, thttttt, thtttttttthea, ththea, thu, ththea, th. th. th. th, th, th, th, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, th. th. th. So, th. So, th. So, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. So, so, so, so, so, Oh, I was just gonna say that this film is set in Mill Valley, PA, which I assumed was
Starting point is 00:08:49 Millvale. That makes sense. For all your Pittsburghers. Can I tell you what my favorite thing in the town of Millvale is here in Pittsburgh? What's that? Right near the intersection where the church with the cool murals is, and like Riverfront Park. Yeah. There is a very skinny apartment building there and it's called the Milvilla. And I just love that. I like it. Yeah, that's good word play. Yeah, that's good word play. Yeah, that's all. So, I didn't know this movie took place on Halloween.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I was very excited about that. The only cop we meet in the movie is an asshole. So that's nice. Of course. Yep. He gets what he has coming to him though. Yeah. There's a kid fishing a tur out of the toilet?
Starting point is 00:09:45 Yeah, he's talking to his friends about it. And he's like, at least you don't have to fish turds out of the toilet. And I was like, why do you have to? In what world? Yeah, just crap in the bag, dog? Seriously. You've got, your butt holes. hold the back up. But like my first thought wasn't, oh they're doing this for a prank, I was like did he clog it? Is it not working? Is this a commentary on
Starting point is 00:10:10 indoor plumbing? What is happening? It is not any of those things. But it's the same kid, this is Chuck. He was fishing the turn out of the toilet. And his mom makes him a Spider-Man costume. That's just a spider. And she's like, you're a man. It's a spider. Be glad you've God provides. Oh, we meet his sister Ruthie, who they do not have a good relationship. Well, she's older and she's pretty. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's just. that's just. that's just just just. that's just just just just just just that's just just just just just just that's just just just just just just just just just just just just. that's just. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. that's that's that's that's relationship? Well, she's older and she's pretty.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We've also met Stella, who has very cool interests, like Bella Lugos. Oh, Stella Legos. Yeah. Stella is such a good name, though.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Great name. Yeah, might change Lucy's. It's always a crappshoot to name your kid a name that's been yelled out at a movie. True. Like Stella or Adrian or yeah. Yeah. You know. I just I feel like most people in her generation will never see a streetcarnium desire. Is that what it's from? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah's from? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. You don't think there's a lot of Brando heads out there? Young Brando heads? I've never seen it.
Starting point is 00:11:31 Oh man, it's great. He's hot as fuck in it. He is a young smoking man, huh? Yeah, good grief. Good gravy. And, uh, at one point his life seemingly a really good dude. Not anymore? Well, he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, that's, that's, that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that's that that th. th. tho. thoen. thoen. thoen. thoen thoooen. anymore. Well he's no longer with us. But no he became a bit of an asshole. Oh my god. How did I forget that he was dead?
Starting point is 00:12:00 No, no. What is wrong with me? He might be cool. Okay. It's been a long couple years. It has been a long couple years. I'm embarrassed for myself. Move on. Dude, I heard like they were talking about the pandemic and the dudes because they were like, we're entering year three and I was just like, or 53? I have no idea how long this has been going on. I know. We're all so much older than three, year three, you know. My beard's gone white. I look like shit. That's not true. I look like a young woman before this happened. We used to describe Katie as Dewey and look at her now. Look at me, I'm a tried up old bitch. A hollow husk of herself. Speaking of dried up old bitches. We hear the story of Sarah Bellows, a dried up old bitch.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Just kidding. Or Harold, Harold could also be a dried up old bee. Harold is definitely a dried up old bitch. Harold is a very scary scarecrow, hanging in a cornfield and all these dumb-ass teens are throwing shit at him. Yeah the teens who were earlier signing up to go to Vietnam are now beating up a scarecrow and saying stuff like, eat shit Harold. It's not even a good activity, you know. What, scarecrow hidden? Yeah. Or signing up for Vietnam? Oh, both. We see that the jocks are now leaving in a car
Starting point is 00:13:34 and we see our nerd friends going out trick-or-treating and they like rig a bag up with something. Does the bag have shit in it? Because... Yes, they put the, they put the shit in the bag and set the bag on fire. Right, and throw it into the car. Yeah. It's a fire hazard. And a biological weapon. That's really fucked up. But he does call it the Poudetat? That's good. I do love a pun. We forgot to mention we've also met Augie, who is kind of like the, like the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the it the Pudetat? That's good. I do love a pun. We forgot to mention we've also met Augie, who is kind of like the the Michael Sarah of the group. Oh my god, yeah, yeah. They were like, can we get Michael Sarah for this role?
Starting point is 00:14:17 And they were like, the casting director was like, he's 38, whatever he is. I can get you a Michael Sarah type, an ish. That'll do. That'll do. He said something about how eating a lot of candy is the same, has the same chemicals that curdle breast milk. It's like, no, no, no, no. I can confirm that eating lots of candy will not curdle your breast milk.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Scientific tests have been done. Yeah. You be shocked how much candy I could eat. So after the Pudetah, which I'm going to keep referencing because I love it, they run to the local drive-in theater, which is showing neither living dead. And our nerd kids just get into a car with a Rando dude who we saw being abused by both the jocks in the cop in town earlier. Yeah, a Hispanic kid. He's very dreamy for being a child. Well, he's not, you can't, I mean, he's got to be at least 18, right? That's true, yeah, if he's drafted. Okay, then he can be dreamy.
Starting point is 00:15:20 He's legal. That's too. That's disgusting. That's tha. That's thi. That's thi. That's thi. That's thi. That's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. thee. thi. thi. thi. And this is Ramon. Yes. Who is the B-Switchbladed Latino in this movie? Yeah, I'm not sure about the switchblade, but... It was like had you left it out, we'd all be fine. There was no reason to include it. Yeah, it like barely comes into play in the movie. Except for like a joke, like a like one-off joke later. Yeah, for sure. So the two Chuck and Augie are talking about how Stella is not anyone's type. Yeah. It's crazy. Here's the thing. I know we've talked about this a bunch of times on this show, but I am just so sick of the trope of wearing glasses equals ugly. Sure. Like, this child is adorable. She seems like lots of fun. She seems very smart. Yeah. Her taste in horror movies alone I would have lost my mind as a child to meet her. Yeah. Yeah. She's like, uh, uh, fuck what is that movie that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. the. the. te. teea. tr. tr. tr. tea. tri. triea. triea. triea. triea. trio. tria. fuck, what is that movie? Neon Maniacs. The young girl from that
Starting point is 00:16:30 who's got all the, like the horror movie Masked and Posters in her room. Yes. Yeah, she's cool. Definitely. Come on, everybody. So cool. She had a cool hat, I recall. Yeah, she had the, the, the, the, uh, the, the, uh, US Nostromo hat from alien. Yeah, that's what it was. She was basically doing a Harry Dean Stanton cosplay. So yeah, they get in the car, Ramon immediately falls in love with Stella and vice versa. So cute. She's dressed as a witch and she has moles all over her face, so she knocks all the moles off her face when she goes outside the car. She's adorable. She's dressed as a witch and she has moles all over her face, so she knocks all the moles off her face when she goes outside the car. She's adorable, but she's also crying. I forget why she's crying. Uh, because her mom left. Oh right, and Tommy the drunk says something
Starting point is 00:17:15 shitty to her about it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because the- He's a dick. It's a piece of shit. The worst. He gets what's coming to him too. He was going th. He was going th. He was going to let those kids die. Or kill them himself with a baseball bat. Yeah. Oh, Tommy. He's also fucking racist. He's fucking racist. Am I breaking up to you at all? No.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Am I breaking up to you? Yeah, but it's okay. I just don't want to, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to you? Yeah, but it's okay. I mean, I can, I just don't want, I just hope it sounds okay, that's all. I feel bad. You're sick of this. Yeah. For those listening along and hope we are recording remotely again, because weather this time.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Ice storm and no, even Christina Ricci. Oh my god, that's so uncomfortable. That movie is so uncomfortable. Oh yeah, it's terrible. Terrible. Ramon lets him hide in their car and then they're like, do you want to see a haunted house? And of course he does, because he's down. Yeah. So they go. D-T-G down to Ghost? Down to Ghost. D-T-H down to the tough. D-T-Hound to go. D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-hau-D-D-D-D-hau-hau-hau-hau-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-h! R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R R Rhunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnoo-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-R-Ro-Ro-hau-Ro-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-hau-B-H, down to B-H, I don't know. They go to the Bellows House, which has been long since abandoned, despite being like a beautiful piece of property in the center of town, seemingly. Yeah, I love that this is your hang-up with these movies. This is like, no, no, this is prime real estate people. Like an it where you were like, they are not gonna let that house go derelict to the nice suburban neighborhood. I mean, I think it's true.
Starting point is 00:18:50 I think I'm right. As a homeowner. Yes, I'm a landed gentry, don't you know? So the house is, they break into the house and it's all spooky and cobwebby. Mm-hmm. But the kids don't seem to be scared of it because I guess they go there often? I think so, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:19:13 And they have to break in using Augie's porno pen, which I appreciated. Yeah. Did you ever have one of those pens? Yeah, I bought a bunch of dude ones in Puerto Rico when I was there. I'd never seen them in like for purchase anywhere else in a person. Yeah. Yeah. What was the, how did the dude one work?
Starting point is 00:19:34 He was just hold, like, had a swimsuit on and then he didn't have a swimsuit on anymore. Okay. It was like holding a surfboard that slowly rose up or anything. No, just clothes, no clothes. Okay. that slowly rose up or anything? No, no, just clothes, no clothes. Okay, okay. I'm sure I told you before my dad had a set of mugs when I was a kid, that when you would fill them with cold liquid, the woman's clothes would come off on the mug. Look, what fucking technology? You know what I mean? They were like, this is amazing. You can see this woman's tits.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Put in a course. Well, beer's getting warm. Brock came back on. Chug, chug, chug. How did we fucking make it this far as a species? We don't deserve, we deserve to be cabin in the wood. It's like we do not deserve this. Yeah, we had to have another apocalypse
Starting point is 00:20:31 because they couldn't stop talking about tits. As a species. Bring the bell. So yeah, they get into the house, none of them were scared. Augie and Chuck are seemingly playing a hide-and-seek with each other, while Stella and Ramon are just wandering off on their own. I really, really liked this spooky scene when Chuck opens the door and to the closet, after having been in the closet.
Starting point is 00:21:04 And instead of seeing like the cobweb dark room, it's like a beautifully appointed red room with wall, like great wallpaper, and this woman wearing a veil and a dog just sitting there like bolt upright, yeah. It's so good. And it's like a Doberman that's staring at him, which is terrifying. Fuck me, no way. Yeah, and then the woman just turns her head slowly with her veil on. Oh, it's so, it's so like kid creepy, but in such a good way. Yeah, I mean, I will, I will divulge a little something. I think this movie is real good spookery beginning to end.
Starting point is 00:21:40 Strong agree. And like, I think kids would fucking love this movie. Kids should fucking love this movie. Yeah. Come on, you cowards. All you children that are listening. Stop watching in conto, you piece of shit. Speaking of things that sound like a medication. That's true. Do not take a conto if you were allergic to enco. Why the fuck would you? If you knew you were allergic to it, you dumb piece of shit.
Starting point is 00:22:16 It will definitely cause diarrhea. Why do people have to be told don't take in conto if you're allergic to in conto? If you, like what I you know oh my god. It's the same thing where the coffee cups have to say contents may be hot on the inside of them. Yeah no shit I bought hot coffee. Yeah so but yeah I absolutely adored that like that that change of scenery. And then he closes it and Augie starts banging on the door and he's freaking out and then it's back to normal.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Yeah. Very, very like the shining light, which I really appreciate. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like a Miller light. Like a Miller light. It's a low calorie shining. That's what we all need. So meanwhile, Ramon and Stella, Ramon has found like a bookshelf that moves and behind it is a panel
Starting point is 00:23:18 that he's able to open with his switchblade. Yeah. And behind it is the bedroom of Sarah Bellows. Yeah. Whom we've been told was the daughter of this family who had something strange about her or something and so they locked her away and hid her from the world. Yeah, what, what, what, what, there's like a old timey Gothic tale that's like this where the man kept his wife in the attic but wouldn't tell anybody about her. Oh, I don't know. Is it Jane. Are you thinking about the yellow wallpaper? No, is it Jane Air that I'm thinking hmm. I don't know. It's one of those type stories. Yeah. It's a good trope though. It's a very good like weirdo in the basement troupe. Yeah. It's a good thirir their tho. tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho their tho their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the basement troupe. Yeah, weirdo in the basement plus like rich people hiding away their dirty, dirty laundry or whatever. I'm sure I've told you about the
Starting point is 00:24:10 zoobies, the, the urban legend of the inbred DuPont children in Delaware. Wait, I don't think you told me they were the DuPont children. I think you just sort of, yeah. Wow. That guy ended up killing someone, the DuPont children. I think you just sort of that, yeah, wow. Yeah. That guy ended up killing someone, didn't he? One of the DuPonts did, yeah. One of them did, yeah. There's like a million of them. Oh, okay. He killed the wrestler. That's right. He was really into wrestling, yeah. He killed Channing Tatum. They mean a movie. Channing Tatum played the wrestler that he killed. Really? Oh, fucking how. I watched a documentary about it. He seemed insane.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Yeah, for sure. Yeah, but so they're down in her room and they, Stella finds Sarah's book and takes it? Why? Come on, you watch these movies? That's a part of this that's a little bit offensive is that she knows horror movies. She's not going to steal a ghost book. Right, that's a haunted book. You know this haunted book. She seems very thoughtful. I just don't see her doing it. But she has to, so whatever. It's true. Get the story going. Yeah. This is where I have the note, Tommy racially assaults the car of Ramon. Oh no, this is after that's after they get locked in the basement and then they have to get out. Yes, Tommy shows up with his friends and Ruth, who's the person
Starting point is 00:25:37 he was going on a date with, Chuck's sister, and he locks them in the hidden room. And Ruth's like, th. th. the th. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. To. The th. The th. The's th. The's th. The's th. The's th. T. T. T. The's th. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. T. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. That's t. I's t. S. S. S. S. I's t. S. S. I's t. S. S. S. I's t. S. I's t. I's t. S. I's t. I's toge. I's t. I's t. I's, no, no, it's my little brother, let him out. And then he ends up shoving her in there and locking at the door. Do you think that's the end of their dating life? I think so, yeah. I think Ruth's a little too good for him. I hope so. Yeah, yes. Yeah. That flaming bag of dog shit was kind of too good for him. Yeah, they get locked in the base, but they're stuck down there for a while, and then the ghost lets them out? Yeah, seemingly. Even though she knows Stella has the book, I guess just so she can reign terror down upon them.
Starting point is 00:26:17 I guess so, you're going to take my curse out into the world. Yeah. When she does. Yeah, okay. Yeah. Telling you she she she she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's she's th. She's a she's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thee. theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. the. the. the. th. th And she does. Yeah, okay. Yeah. I tell you she's a dried-up old bitch. So she invites her moan to stay at her house without telling her dad? Her dad is such a nice man. Yeah everyone might know him as Dean Norris, the brother-in-law on Breaking Bad. Oh, okay. Yeah. I liked him. I thought he was great. He usually plays assholes.
Starting point is 00:26:54 It's nice to see him in a non-asshole role. He has an asshole face. And when he showed up, I was like, oh, no, this is going to be like a bad situation. And it is kind of a bad situation because they're a co-dependent or whatever after her mother left, but like he's really nice. Yeah, yeah. He's trying. He's trying. He's working too hard.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Yeah, yeah, aren't we all though? Huh? Tell you what? little money in your pockets. Working for the government. Working for the city. The city, yeah. So this is when Stella opens the book and sees that the name Harold is written at the top of a page and when she swipes it's blood? Yes, and it's fresh. It's wet. Yeah. She also just scans through it real quick and you see the the the city. Um, you see the ci-uh, you see the the city. the city the city the city the city. Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city the city, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the city, the the the the the the the city, the the the the the city the the the the the the the the ti ti when she swipes it, it's blood. Yes, and it's fresh. It's wet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:46 She also just scans through it real quick. And you see the title, The Wendeggo, which is one of the stories in the first volume of this, that scared the piss out of me. Even though I was somehow sure it was like a bug or something. thii tho tho tho tho tho that that that bones so I can see maybe they were clacking and clicking and you thought it was a bug. Maybe. Rereen it. Yeah, go back, revisit. I'll get back to you. But yes, Harold is being written as we watch. Yeah, it's good. So as it's the words are appearing on the page, we cut back to Tommy who shows up at his mom's house drunk and she's like, you are supposed
Starting point is 00:28:31 to take the eggs to the Wolverton. And I was like, fuck I wish my name was Wolverton. How cool would I be? Katie Wolverton? No one would ever fuck with me. It's good. It's a good name. It's good name. What's not good is mom saying, hey drunk son, why don't you drive these eggs over to the Wolverton's? Yeah, well he got there, okay, I guess. No, he never made it out of the cornfield. Oh, you mean he got home, okay? Yeah. So, also, do you have to go through the cornfield to get to the Wolverton's front door?
Starting point is 00:29:12 Because that's like probably real annoying for their mail carrier. Maybe it's just a shortcut to the field. Yeah, for sure. But Tommy does not make it back out of that field. No, it's the field where Harold lives. Yeah. Can I do what I love about Harold? Please. He's like missing his midsection?
Starting point is 00:29:30 Yeah. I thought that was very good. I love that technology is far enough along that that works. Yep. It doesn't look weird when Harold is walking towards him and you can see the center of Harold is missing. Yeah, it looks cool. They did it like really well. Yeah. It's super dope. You never played in cornfields as a child. Hmm. There's bugs in there. Wendigo is probably. I just remember like running around in a cornfield near my house and we would get lost because it's the same thing and you're five feet tall and the corn is seven feet tall. So you would just have to like find your way back out of there.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Hence why corn mazes work so well. I do love a corn maze but only one that's been set up professionally. Not a gorilla corn maze. I refuse to work with independent corn mazes. But this is great because he keeps walking and then the Herald will be in the next intersection he hits. Yeah. I'm like, oh, that's good. That's good. Good spookery. It is. It's a shame they did that in the first one and then use that same trope again later in because I think it makes that story less scary. I agree. But so what does Harold do to Tommy?
Starting point is 00:30:52 Does he stab him? I just have a note here that says oh well give him a weapon then. I think he like went to use a weapon and Harold just maybe took it from him. Yeah well Tommy stabs him in the his non-existent midsection. Oh right. And then thoom th. thi thom thi thom thom thi thi thi thi thi. thi. that that that thi that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. that's th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. tho-a. tho-s tho-s tho-s tho-s tho-s. tho-s tho-s that And then Harold spins the pitchfork around and stabs him with it. That's right. And then Tommy starts having straw shooting out of his mouth and ears? This like becoming a scarecrow scene is so good. Yeah. Yeah. And when we see him later and he's got the same lumpy face as Harold.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Yes. We're wearing his Letterman's jacket. Wearing his Letterman's jacket. I also like that his last breath before he becomes a fool on Scarecrow is kind of just like burfing up some hay. Yeah. It's really funny. It's gross. And into the camera, like the camera goesthat Augie was dressed up as? Yeah, I thought they were going to have more of a moment. Yeah. Although sequel, you never know. It's true. It's true. There were points of this that felt very reminiscent of Fear Street to me. Absolutely. It's like that sort of like, even though this is taking place in the 60s, it's sort of a
Starting point is 00:32:10 90s nostalgia somehow. Sure, yeah. I don't know. I just had a vibe. Just had a vibe to it, man. Cool teens. Yeah. So at the next day at school, Tommy is missing.
Starting point is 00:32:26 Yeah. And some, so, oh, so Stella has read the story. So she already knows what's going on, basically. Yeah. And she goes back to the house by herself to do the right thing and give the book back, which, no fucking way. I like this though, because th. th. th. th. th- th- th- th- th-thea th-thea, th-thea, thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, the, the, the, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, and to, and to-s, and to-s, and to-s, and to-s, and to-s, to-s, to-s, to-s, to-s, to-s, to-a, to-s, to-a, to-s, to do the right thing and give the book back, which no fucking way. I like this though because she's like, this is where her knowledge of horror films is like, actually I got to do the right thing. Yeah. You know, if you replace the thing that you stole, you might be able to end the curse. But also you're going to go on that haunted house all by yourself?
Starting point is 00:33:01 Sure, if you're badass like Stella is. I am not. No, neither of us are. We're titty babies as we like to describe ourselves. Big old titty babies. Big old. I also forgot to mention that while they were in the, locked in the room before the ghost let them out, something bites Ruthie on her face. Yeah. And this was my favorite of the stories. It is a fear of mine. Hmm. Ever since I saw the movie The Believers. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Where something very similar to what happens in this movie happens. Eech. Except I think a bee comes out of someone's face. Ooh, nice. Yeah. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I have bug slash head fears from seeing a very shitty movie called Brokedown Palace starring Claire Dames. And perhaps Kate Beckinsale but I could be wrong about that. Okay. But they're in prison in Thailand
Starting point is 00:34:00 and like a like an earworm crawls into the one woman's ear and like makes, oh God, and there's just a scene of it just going like, y-shy-shy-shy-jee into her brain. I'm done. I was, yeah, that's the thing I worry about all the time. That was my early days on the internet was looking at what parasites can do to people. It was just like, it's like,. You're like, I've got to know. And it was just like, I found out and I was like, I never have to look at this again. Well, now you know and knowing is half the battle, right? Yeah, yeah, I know that I want to puke just thinking about it. Yep. Let's not talk about parasites anymore. Somebody calls somebody a butt pimple. Ruth. Ruthy. Ruth. Ruth. Ruth. Ruth. Ruth. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru. Ru, thi. Ru. Ru, thi. Ru, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I the pimple on her face. That's a great insult.
Starting point is 00:34:46 It's a spider butt, you know, butt pimple. Yeah, she's starting to get like a red bump on her cheek. And I can't wait. So you were like anticipating, you were excited when that happened. Absolutely. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, yeah. And we all know this was going to happen, but the book is tha, but tha, but tha, but tha, but tha, thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I knew what was going to happen. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we all know this was going to happen, but the book is back in Stella's room. Right. Ramon finds it there because he's still living in her house, I think? I think he was just coming to hang out.
Starting point is 00:35:21 Okay. Yeah. I mean, his car is still in the shop and the cop is harassing him about it. Oh, right. I mean, are you're you you you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, are you, the the the they, they, they. There, th. There, th. Are, th. Are, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. Yeah, that's that's that's that's that's th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, th. I, th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I's th. I'm, th. I's Oh right. I mean, are you gonna, there's a racial slur spray painted on the man's car or somehow painted on his car? And you're gonna harass him? Mm-hmm. And not be like, I'm sorry this happened to you. Yeah. Well, 1968, I guess. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:42 So what new story is the book writing now, Katie? The Big Toe, which is also one that stuck with me, but only because in the story, he slices the toe into slices and then eats it. It got me, like, it was deep in my core. But in this one, he just puts whole fucking big toe in his mouth. Which is wild because big toes, I was looking at mine. It's fucking enormous. Like I wouldn't put a piece of food that big in my mouth, I would joke.
Starting point is 00:36:14 Maybe she had a dainty big toe. Oh man, I don't know. It was big. It was big. When he it. It was big. When he opens the fridge and he's on the phone with his mom, he's like, fine, whatever, I'll just eat this stew and his mother's like, what are you talking about? See, the next thing he says is, well, somebody made it. Sir, don't eat the stew. Um, so yeah, so Stella calls him and it like, yeah, don't eat the stew, ding dong.
Starting point is 00:36:46 And he's like, momm, what? Nom, nom, nom, nom. Also, they're all talking on walkie-talkies, which I love, but they must be super high-powered because when she leaves the house to get to Augie, she's like, it's a couple of blocks away. I was like, that's pretty far. Oh, you got a high-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-s. th-s. th-s. th-a-a-a-n'-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-n'-n'-n'-n'-n'-a-a-a-a-a-n'-a-n. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th-n. th-n. th-n. th-n't, th-n't th-s. th-s. th-s. th-s. th-s. ta-s. ta-s. ta-s. ta-s. ta-s. ta-s. ta-a-a-a-sa-a-s. ta-s. ta-s. ta-s. tie there. Yeah, I guess. Should we get walkie-talkies and do the podcast by a walkie-talkie? There's no way we get a walkie-talkie to go that long range. Sure you can. Can we do it on our cell phones? Aren't they? It's just long-range walkie-talkies? I'm not sure what you're talking about a cell phone? A cell phone? Did I think it? Did I not say cell phone? Do cell phone? Do cell phone? Do th. th. thah cell phone? Do th. th say cell phone? Do th. Do th say cell phone? Do th. Do th say cell phone? Do th. Do thi? Do thi? Do thi? Do thi? Do thi? Do thah? Do th. Do thi? Do thi? Do thi? Do thi? Do th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi is thi is thi? thi's thi? thi's thi's the thi? thi? thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. the the thi. the the thi's the thi's thi's that no one else says cell phone. People just say phone. It's just a phone now.
Starting point is 00:37:26 I always say cell phone. They like it. Can you call me on my cellular? Yeah, can you have a celly blank? Oh yeah, just call my car phone while I'm out driving around. My phone keeps trying to go into car mode. I'm like, no, you're a car phone. I don't need you to go into car mode. Wait, can I drive you now? You're in car mode. Car mode.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Also, my cell phone is a 2011 Toyota Carole. The time is a milkshake stints. It has a sticker that says my other car is a cell phone. It's just, the car's an o aura bore us eating its own tail. Hmm. So, speaking of eating body parts. So, Stella is trying to convince Augie not to eat the stew. He's like, what are you talking about? She's like, you're going to hear somebody yelling for you
Starting point is 00:38:18 and telling you not to eat their toe. Where is my toe? Where is my toe? That's such a little kid thing. To be spooked by someone saying where is my toe. Well, what if you ate it? Because as an adult you would just go, I don't fucking know! Take your toeless, shambling corpse foot and get the fuck out of my house.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I'm sorry, sir, I'm trying to finish this episode of Lost in Space. You could leave me alone now. No, he eats that fucking toe. He eats that fucking toe. And then- Who's that bones in them? Who deboned that toe? I did like the shot of the toeless foot walking down the hallway. I thought it was great.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Yeah, good spookery. And she is also sort of based on one of those classic drawings from the books, like the missing half her face and all that jazz. But I love the scene of her catching him under the bed and pulling him into nothingness? Yeah, just into the wall and gone. Yeah, you know I love that. I do. I love it too. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:39:32 It's not as great as what happens to poor Augie or to poor Chuck, but uh. That's just weird. It's so weird. At this point, Stella has the line. You don't read the book. The book reads you, which is... Please tell me that you re-read that line to yourself in Yacov-Smearinoff voice. Can you give me an idea of how that might say?
Starting point is 00:39:57 In Russia, book reads you. There you go. That's so stupid. It was a dumb line that took me out of the movie. But then I was like, oh wait, it's for kids, never fine. It's fine. It's fine. You might think that was deep if you were not a 48-year-old man. Oh shit, I am not 48 yet. Thank you very much. Okay, I'm sorry. It's only, what, what, six weeks ago? What are we going to do for your birthday movie this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi? thi. thi. thi? thi? thi. thi. tho. tho. that's that's that's that's that's that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, th going to do for your birthday movie this year?
Starting point is 00:40:25 Another Don Knapps? I don't know. Maybe an Evan Costello film. Okay. So cut to the Drive-In Theater and they're all hanging out there. Well, Ramon and Stella are hanging out there and then Chuck and Ruthie show up. They like just don't believe that Augie is gone. No, they don't.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Or at this Ruth doesn't. She does not. And then they burn the book but the book doesn't burn? Yeah, I like that. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And Chuck says, this is why I don't read books. Maybe he'll pick it up when he's 19. Yeah, exactly. I mean, yeah, Ruth is like, oh, I have to get to the school musical tonight. I'm in the school musical.
Starting point is 00:41:15 And we cut to her in the dressing room. Oh, so good. The bump has gotten bigger and bigger and come to like a sort of pussy head. Sorry for everyone who was just repulsed by me saying pussyhead. The white head is the size of a half dollar. Yeah. For a coin that no one has seen in 30 years. Yeah, what are you talking about? It's a little bigger than a quarter, a little smaller than a Susan B. Let's say it's about the size of a Pog slammer. Not the thickness, just the diameter. And she starts squeezing it. Yeah, because you're gonna have to pop that at some point. And I was like, oh I would love to pop that.
Starting point is 00:42:03 Oh, I know. I was just, oh, yes. Give me to give my fucking hands on that. It would snap. You know it would make a snapping sound. There'd be an audible. Oh, God, this is really repulsing someone. We need to move on. Although, you know what, they made the movie? But while she's messing with it, a the the thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a th, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, a thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, th. Starting point is 00:42:28 The thing bursts open and hundreds of spiders run out. If not thousands. Yeah, thousands. So good. Oh, it's a fucking, it is legitimately, because there's like, the botfly, we'll do this. This will happen to you. No, that's not true. Okay, that's that's fine. That's fine. That's fine. That's that's that's that's that's fine. Okay, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thing. the the thing. the the thing. the thing. the thing. the thing. the thing. the thing. the thing. the thing. the the the the the the the that's. that's. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the. the. that's that's theat. that's that's that's that's that's that's the. that's that's that's that's thi. that's that's like, the botfly will do this. This will happen to you. No, that's not true. Okay, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:42:51 Don't go on the internet to look this up then. Being fun is better than knowing things. So gross. I wanted to, like, I was like, oh, yeah, you're done. Goodbye. If you're not dead, you're done Rothy goodbye if you're not dead you're done yeah she's screaming and she's insane yeah but she does not die no it just it drives her insane it doesn't though well Stella's was it was it Stella's dad or the cop it was some male it was the yeah when he cop's like she has driven permanently insane it's like do we know for for sure for sure, yeah, when he caught, it's like, she has driven permanently insane.
Starting point is 00:43:25 It was like, do we know for sure, for sure? He's like, she'll be in the nut house the rest of her life and it's, that happened two hours ago. Come on, come on, officer. Yeah. And also, yeah, Chuck says to Stella, he's like, my sister is gone. And it's like she's not gone. She just went over that way. For th for for th for th for there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. th. th for th for sure. th for sure, th for sure, for sure, for sure, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th for sure, for sure, for sure, for sure, for sure, for sure. th for sure. th for sure. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. there. th. there. there. th. there. th. th. th. the to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. th. th. th., Chuck says to Stella, he's like, my sister is gone, and it's like, she's not gone. She just went over that way. She's not gone. She's right over there, it's fine. It's very confusing about her outcome. But we also get an investigation scene,
Starting point is 00:43:58 where they're going and looking at micro fish. Yes, they go to the newspaper and find all the stories on the rich family that had had thoes tho tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she's tho, she's the, she just, she's tho, she's tho, she's just tho, she's just tho, she's just tho, she just tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she tho, she, she, she, she, and tho, and tho, and tho, and tho, and th. the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, and the, the. thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, thean, they thean, thean, thean, th. Yes, they go to the newspaper and find all the stories on the rich family that had owned a house, the Bellows family. And they find out that the daughter, Sarah, wait, how do they find out she was in the hospital? Oh, and they find the story about Lulu and her mother. Right, right, right, right, right. And they go to sea Lulu. And they found out that multiple family members of the Bellows family had been killed in odd circumstances and or disappeared.
Starting point is 00:44:34 Yeah. Following Sarah's suicide. Yes. Oh, and we forgot to mention that Chuck finds his sister in the bathroom and to stop the spiders from biting her, he throws dirty mop water on her. Terrible, she's going to get so infected. She has a huge open wound on her face. Oh, God. It does get the spiders off her though. True, true, because the spider's like, mm-mm-mm. Grows. They're, sir. Don't have an immune system yet.
Starting point is 00:45:06 So we go to Lulu Baptiste's house. And she has the same music box as Sarah. Is the music box ever not creepy? Are they ever wholesome? I think so, but not in a horror movie. Mm-mm. Always spooky. Okay. Do you hate them as much as you hate wind chimes?
Starting point is 00:45:26 No, because wind chimes are impeding in my personal space. A music box isn't in my house, you know? Windchimes are rude. Okay. You know what? How about if I just come to your house and I just play a xylophone outside? Tunelessly! Tunelessly!
Starting point is 00:45:47 Now I want to just hide music boxes around your house. No, threw them in the trash. So they get some information from Lulu, I don't quite remember what she gets. They get that Sarah had hanged herself in the hospital, not in the house. Oh that's right, and that Lulu had given her the book. Yes. Because Voodoo. That was kind of unclear. Yeah. Oh no, because she says something about, they asked for something about magic. And Lulu has the banger line. There is no magic. There's only rage. Yes. That is a banger line. That's dope no magic, there's only rage. Yes, that is a banger line. That's dope. Yeah, that's a good album title. Because there was, when they were doing their investigation,
Starting point is 00:46:36 they found a newspaper clipping that had the worst newspaper drawing I've ever seen in my life. It was like some kids' eighth grade math book of a rich family. But it said voodoo on like one of the like quotes in the story. So stupid. But I like that it wasn't magic. Just rage. Just rage. So they go to the hospital where she was treated. How they know which hospital it is we'll never know. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And they go to the hospital where she was treated. How they know which hospital it is, we'll never know. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And they leave Chuck behind because they have to go to the red room to get the documents
Starting point is 00:47:14 and he's been having nightmares of a red room. And also there's like a doctor parade that comes through so they can all slip through the door. It's like, 50-da-da-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-a-m!!!! And th-m! And the the th-mphi-m!!!!!! And th-so-so-so-so-so-so-so-so-so-so-sooom. And the the they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they'll-so-so-so-so-so-so-so-so-h! they-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-huea-hue-mahahah-mah-mah-mah-moooooome. th-s. the. the. the. they- all slip through the door. It's like 52 doctors like, da da da da da da da da da da da da da. But Chuck sneaks in with them but won't go to the red room itself and decides to wander about the hospital. No way would you allow yourself to be left behind. Go back out the door you went through. Just go back out to where the people are. Just wait for them, yeah. the, the, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, the the th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. the, th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Just wait for them, yeah. Like when he ends up on the roof and gets locked out and has to walk past all these orderlies to get back in and they
Starting point is 00:47:50 start yelling at him and chasing him. Why isn't he just like, oh my god I'm I'm gotten so lost. Can someone please direct me to the front door? I'm looking for my grandmother. Yeah. You're a kid. You're a kid. You're sure to have a grand. to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have a g g g g gr. to have a gr. to have a gr. to have a gr. to have a grand. to have a grand. to have a grand. to have a grand. to have to have a grandm. to have a grand. to have a grand. to have a to have a gr. to have a to have a gr. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their. their their. their. their their th. their their. their their their their the the the the thr. the the thr. their their th. th. their th in a hospital. Learning Express. Isn't that just Thomas the Tank Engine? Oh, shit. Oh, I'm so glad my kid never got the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the record is to to the record the the the the the the the the the thoing is the the the the the record is the record is the the the the the the the record the record the record the record the record the record the record the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thoom. thoom. thoom. thoome. thooma. the. train is. train is. train is. train's train's train.oomoomorrow. train.ea.ea. train.ea. train. train's train's train's train's train's train's that just Thomas the Tank Engine? Oh shit. I'm so glad my kid
Starting point is 00:48:27 never got into Thomas the Tank Engine. I trains aren't for me. So he goes into an elevator which I was like why would you do that you're already in Spooktown why would you go to an elevator? Seriously. And then he uh goes down a hallway and the orderlies sound an alarm about a child being in the hospital, which I was like, is that a, that's not a thing right? Yeah, like, is it just a hospital where no visitors are permitted ever? I guess. Okay. No chucks. No chucks. It's a chuck-free zone. No chucks allowed? No chucks. But he's allowed? But he's the chucks. the cux allowed. No chucks. It's a chuck-free zone. No chucks allowed. But he's in a stark white hallway that when the alarm is sounded, it's red with the lights coming on. Yep. And this is where they sort of duplicate the Harold spookery. Yeah, yeah. Because every time he comes to an intersection of hallways, what does he see?
Starting point is 00:49:29 A very friendly looking ghost? Yeah, that picture is definitely in the book somewhere. That's what I was looking for when I first got on this call. Yeah, when a image searched it, it's one of the images that comes up for the book. Yeah and I've definitely seen a tattoo of it too, which is wild. But the rest of her body is confusing. She's got like super chubby legs and then really skinny arms. Yeah. And her child's drawing. Yeah for sure and her head is huge. And I was like, oh she's gonna eat Chuck. Which she sort of does. She sort of does, but just enveloping him into herself. He doesn't really struggle. He just kind of lets it happen. No resistance.
Starting point is 00:50:17 Yeah. I just referred to her as the Puffy Lady. Yeah. I don't remember what which story that is. I wish I'd taken like more than 10 seconds to Puffy Lady. Yeah, I don't remember what the which story that is. I wish I'd taken like more than 10 seconds to look it up. Katie? Yeah. That would be research. You have a strong stance against it. Well you break the rules I learned it from watching you. And they know that Chuck has been consumed because they find his porno pen laying on the ground. Yeah. So they get arrested here basically. For sure. Uh, it's this call, Stella calls her dad, and this conversation she has with him is so frustrating. Why doesn't she tell him she's being held at the police station? Uh, I have no idea. He's like practically in tears. Like, please, baby, just tell me where you are. And she's like, I th th th th th th th th th the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. th. th. their. their. th. th. th. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they're. they're. they're. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they's. they're. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the. the. the. they're th. they're they're they're they're th. they're they're they're tears, like, please baby, just tell me where you are. And she's like, I love you, dad.
Starting point is 00:51:07 There's no need for this drama. Sorry, what, did Star 69 not exist at this point in time? You just find out where that call came from? I don't think so. I don't know when Star 69. I'll, before that, I assume you just pick out the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone pick out the phone and go, Operator, who was the last phone call to my number? It's Minnesota FAT 269. And where is this taking place, this scene in your mind? This is Dean Norris calling the operator to find out who called him.
Starting point is 00:51:37 No, I mean what part of the country with that accent? Oh, uh, Millvale, Pennsylvania. Okay, good, good, Pennsylvania. Okay, great. Good, good. Operator. Operator. They have the TV on at the police station and it's the 1968. It's election night, 1968. And they show the like election tally board and I was like, oh, it's the election board. Classic. Classicie when you need him. Oh man, fucking- Or as my friends call him, sidepipe Steve.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Ugh, why? It looks like you'd have a big dick. He's just got BDE. Yeah. Steve Cornaki, BDE. Hey, Steve, if you're listening, good job buddy. Yeah. You look like you have a huge hog.
Starting point is 00:52:32 So who shows up at the police station? Me tie, d'hawaka. What is that? So that, in that story, he, there's a voice singing that and also singing another song that's like, Molly, Polly, Collie, something. Just like nonsense. Yeah. There's like two different lines that it shifts between.
Starting point is 00:52:55 And then the way you're supposed to be, the story is meant to be read aloud. And so, uh, the last lines of the story are like, this head falls down the chimney and turns and opens its mouth and then you're just supposed to scream into the face of one of your friends says that in the book. Yeah, that's it. That's the story. Because Ramon refers to him as the jangly man. Yeah, I don't know what that's about. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:22 And again, reading the books would have been Research. It is fundamental. So but he says it like he has prior knowledge of the jangly man. Yeah, like he has a name for it. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know what that's about. So the jaggly man kills the cop. Yeah, he looks into the cop face and goes me tie. Don't he walk. And the cop goes. It th. It th. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It is. It's. It's. I. It's. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I the. I the. I th. I th. I the. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I, he looks into the cop's face and goes, me, tie, don't he, walk, ah, and the cop goes, are you shit in me? I like. I also like that he falls down the chimney one body part at a time and then reassembles himself.
Starting point is 00:53:58 That's good. It is good. I like the dog whining and staring at the chimney too even though I think naming a cop dog trigger isn't very poor taste. Is it that's like a cowboys horse's name? Yeah I can't remember which cowboy it is now but one of them I won't ever care for a cowboy. So but for like that uh me tied Tote Walker throws the dead cop at their prison cell so they can get the keys and escape and I was like, what do you do, buddy? Yeah, he doesn't think it through.
Starting point is 00:54:32 No. He's too busy doing his like, Cirque to Solay routine of doing like a backbend into a forward roll. Like, all right. And trying to squeeze his broken head through the bars, which was good. Pretty good. Yeah. He also gets straight up stuck there for enough time for them to escape. What was I thinking? Yeah. Me and Ty Goatie Walker. It just sounds like a Star Wars thing. Yeah. So they escape.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Nixon wins. Yeah, I don't know. I guess that's just to show that Vietnam's going to go on, huh. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, well. Do you know much about the Watergate scandal? Do I know much about it? Yeah. Not a ton, but enough to know that it that it that it that it that it that it that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's just that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thooome.oome. that's that's that's that's that's that's th candle. Do I know much about it? Yeah. Not a ton, but enough to know that it was really dumb. Yeah, I got real fascinated by it like a year ago and ended up listening to all these podcasts about it. It's very interesting. And there's all these
Starting point is 00:55:34 little side stories of like, yeah. It's just, it's very good. Yeah. You never want to to immerse yourself in something that's like not all that important anymore. Sure, sure. Much worse has happened since. Oh yeah. But I have the note, that thing can run because they're like, do they get on a bus or something? No, no, they steal the cop car. Ramon steals the cop car. And that thing runs and jumps on the car. And then he crushes it. He runs it into like a semi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. truck. truck. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. He crushes it, he runs the truck, runs it into like a semi
Starting point is 00:56:06 truck, and then it just falls apart into pieces and then reassembles on the sidewalk. Yeah, so creepy. Love that. Yeah. What do you do when that happens? Except run up and steal one of its body parts? Like I got your leg. Yeah, I like that. What do you do about it? Yeah. I'd hit it with his leg. the the leg. the leg. the leg. the leg. th. th. th. th. th. th. the leg. th. the th. the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tru. true. true. true. true. true. true. true. true. true. true. true. true. the. true. th. th. th. What do you do about it? Yeah. I'd hit him with his leg. Put the leg in a blender so that it takes longer to put back together. Mmm. Smart. I'm pretty smart. You are. You are. You are. So he tells Ramon tells Estella to run to the house, but I forget sort of why she's going there. to just to talk to Sarah maybe. She just needs to go and tel Sarah th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, tho, tho, tho, tho, the, the, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. to to to thi. to, thi. thi's thi. thi's thi. thi, thi, thi just to talk to Sarah maybe? Yeah she just needs to go and tell Sarah that it's cool like they're you know they're cool now everything's cool. Oh right because they had found a wax cylinder in her medical records that basically proved that her family had been framing her, not framing her, but maybe just accusing her of the death of these children. Right because the family's mill had been putting mercury into the water.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Right. And she was going to blab. She was. So they institutionalized her. Yep. That's very yellow wallpapery. Sure is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:21 So, when Sarah, or when Stella gets back to the house, it's like normal, it's like well decorated and the lights are on and it's the past, I guess. And the book has written haunted house for the next story. Yeah. It starts writing about Stella being in the house. Yes. So she is Sarah in this like point of view. Right. And she's hiding from the other members of the family because she's apparent they're all yelling
Starting point is 00:57:50 that she's gotten out of her room. Right. Which is brutal. And they're chasing her around and it's very upsetting. Yeah. And meanwhile Ramon makes it to the house but he's in like the normal abandoned house. Right, right. Which is also very good spookery. And the fact that they can minorly interact with each other across these two different timelines is good. Yeah. Like there's a scene where they're on the either side of the door from each other. Yeah. I think this also happened in the film Silent Hill if I'm not mistaken. Oh it it might have. On the other side th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi's thi thi thi thi thi's thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the thi thi thi thi thi have. On the other side of a oval portal they couldn't cross there. Just because we were recently talking about that movie. Why are we not? A work of art. And Ramon finds Stella's glasses but they're old and dusty
Starting point is 00:58:40 and broken. Yeah and then we see them get broken when they like pick her up and take her back into the room, they fall off her face and somebody steps on them. Yeah. We also see the lady with the veil. Yes. In this scene. I guess she was like a member of the family. She's like the grand matriarch of the family.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Yeah. And meanwhile we're seeing things from Stella's viewpoint, but like she can't quite see because she doesn't have her glasses on. Yeah. And that's how whenever I dream very rarely, but whenever I do, I always like can't see as if I don't have like glasses or contacts. Oh no. It's very upsetting, yeah. Is that because when you're sleeping you don't have your glasses or contacts in? I don't th th sleeping with my contacts in and find out if I can see? It's me, your friend with a massive infection. And the contact that's rolled behind my eyeball. Oh, the family knew that they're poisoning people. We find that out. And then Sarah gives a pen to Stella and says, right in your blood. Because Stella is saying that she's going to tell the story of how Sarah was wronged, how she didn't kill anyone. Right, right. But she's also like making her be accountable.
Starting point is 00:59:55 She's like, that's on you! This is on you! Which I thought was very funny. And then Sarah, Sarah screamsly Man falls apart, cut to Ramon going off to war. Like this is such a weird thing to me. I don't understand how I'm supposed to feel about this. It's the redemption arc because Jangley Man kept referring to Ramon as a coward. And now he's not a coward anymore. He's just possibly dead now. He has told Stella about how his brother came back from Vietnam in pieces. Oh, that's, that makes sense now. I didn't
Starting point is 01:00:36 even put that together. Ah, right. The jangly man, his brother, yeah. Yeah. Hmm. Sad. Sad. Hmm. Sad. Hmm. Sad. Hmm. Hmm. Sad. Hmm. so we see Stella writing the story. Yeah. And then she's in the truck with her dad. Yeah. And Ruthie? Yeah. She's like saying something about how Augie and Chuck are still out there somewhere and she's gonna find them. And the camera pants of the backseat and Ruthie's just sitting there with like a little teeny mark on her face. And then kickstart my heart by Motley Crew starts and they go driving off. Can you sing the beginning? Because it's my favorite one to do it. B. Oh no, no, no, bum, bum, bum, bum, bum. Katie, how did you feel about scary stories to tell the dark? I thought it was an absolute delight.
Starting point is 01:01:36 I was worried that you would not think so, and I was thinking that people who weren't familiar with the books would not think so because they are so, like the imagery is so specific. Like, the fact that the woman who absorbs Chuck is not very scary. Yeah. You know, I feel like if you weren't, if you'd never seen that image before, you would just be like, what the fuck? You know? Just a puffy lady eating Chuck. Yeah, but for me I loved it. Yeah. I have a lot of, I just have so many fond memories of these stories and of the art. And I thought, you know, for a bunch of actors who don't have Wikipedia pages, I thought the kids were all great. Yeah. I've really been enjoying seeing young people play young people lately. Okay. Like in Fear Street, how the teens were all basically,
Starting point is 01:02:27 well, no, one of them was like 30, but the rest of them were basically teens. Right, right. Just like seeing kids, and it too, they were all like young. I just am so, I just, it just brings a whole different vibe to movies when you're not trying to be like this 30-year-old is 12. Sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:46 So I just thought they were all great. I really enjoyed it. I love this movie. I'm gonna give it an eight. Whoa! Good times, great oldies. Noyce. What?
Starting point is 01:02:55 Well, it is a great oldie because it's a thing that you have from your childhood. There go I'm going to give this movie an 8. It was good and I watched it with Missy and there were points that I looked over at her and she was making the uh-uh-face so it was like creeping her out. Not an uh-uh, like this is bad. I don't want this to happen face. Yeah, she didn't like the scarecrow creeped her out and the bugs in the face was as anyone would find that to be too much. Yeah. So yeah I really enjoyed it. I think yeah this would be a
Starting point is 01:03:31 great movie for like starter horror movie for kids. Like six year olds? Definitely. You think I should show this to lose season? Oh my god she's gonna be, well and she's not gonna be six yet. It'll be five. Five in July. No No I mean she's coming up on seeing John Carpenter's the thing but I don't know if she's ready for this yet. You know what she actually watched with the Scooby-Doo movie that was a crossover with the WW-E she was really excited about it. She watched it like two and a half times and she was like, she was like, she was like, she was like, she was like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, she's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. I's a th. I th. I th. I th, I th, I th, I I I th. I I th. I I I th. I, I, I, I, I, I th. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th. I, I, I th. I-a, th. I'm like, th. I'm like, th. I'm like, th. I'm a th. I'm a th. Yeah. Oh, of course. There you go. Cain is in it. Triple H. Oh. The maze. Oh, the Miz. Okay. We're getting less and less. I'm not recognizing the people more and more as you're going through this.triple H looks like a hot dog, right? Yeah, that's a hot dog man, okay? They all look like hot dogs. Not the Undertaker, that man hasn't seen a ray of sunshine in 35 years.
Starting point is 01:04:34 No, no. Katie, speaking of things that are great, are wonderful. Can I read a message from a patron? I'd love to hear that. Hey! Hey! Hey! Good, you've got me, go on. You can use Stivo. Hi, Sivo. Everyone's called me that since SLC Punk came out and it's followed me through the Navy. Ha ha, I'm happy to be a patron. There's a lot to unpack in there.
