Starting point is 00:00:00 I walked in this movie a little pissed off. Can't tell you why? Because Google told me it was an hour and 20 minutes long. And I thought, oh no. And I thought, oh, we're going to get in and get out? I'm so sorry. No. It's almost two fucking hours. I know. I thought about that when I picked it and I was like, but it's two hours of pure joy. It does truck along at a
Starting point is 00:00:31 pace. There's no downtime in this movie. No, it really isn't. As soon as Daria Nickelode's name appeared in the opening credits I was like, Betcha gets murdered. Oh yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There. There. Yeah. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. There. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Uh, Donald Pleasant is playing a character named Professor John McGregor? Occasionally, he slips into a little Scottishness. But then you can tell it's just because someone like waved a sign that was reminding him. They just had a tartan on screen. They would wave. Which is funny because I think that this movie movie the the the the the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the, thu, the, I'm, the, I thu, I th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the, the, the, they, their, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, I's, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, thi, I'm, too. We'll, I'm, too. We'll, too. We'll, too. We'll, toe. We'll, toe. I'm, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, I think that this movie is only set in Switzerland because Dario Argento like happened upon a box of small to medium Swiss flags. Like there are a ton of Swiss flags in this movie and they're all just slightly larger than like the little tiny ones you might wave at a 4th of July parade. Or might be on the front of an ambassador from Switzerland's car.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Exactly. That's the size. And they're everywhere. What did you know this movie set in Switzerland? I do. Okay, yeah, I wasn't sure if you were remembered or not why you were watching the movie. That's set in Switzerland. It's like those people that have to fly an American Fly because sometimes they forget what country they're in.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Yeah, well you want to show that that you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support you support that you support that you support you support you support that you support you support you support you support you support you support you support that you support that you support that you support that you support . But there's even one on top of a derelict building. Yeah. Fucking National Pride knows no boundaries here in Switzerland. This movie, did you bring your bingo card for Dario Orgento? I should have fucking made one. Could we tell them what the movie this is? It's phenomena. You guys read the title.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Phonomena. Oh, and I'm Alan. I'm Katie. Wow. We've than. thahahahahah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that in ages. No, and this is wherewulf ambulance, your favorite horror movie podcast. And if it wasn't, it is now. Yeah. Boom, Boogachaka. Yeah. So this movie has his wife being killed. Bingo. Put it to put a chit down. A daughter. A daughter? Being killed. Not understanding how human girls interact with each other. No! Dario.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And yet making film after film about them. Delightfully misplaced heavy metal music. Yes, the same song twice. Yeah. the whole fucking thing. The whole goddamn thing. Badly dubbed knocking. Even the knocking is badly done. Dialogue. Mark that on your card. A pair of scissors as a pair of violent weapon. Beautifully shot. Gorgeous moving. Yeah. Another staple of Dario Argento at this point in time. Women's faces going through glass. Oh my god, two-time. Two-time. Two-time award winner.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Michaela Suave is in this movie. Is he? He is Kurt Giger's assistant in the first scene you see with the two cops and Donald Pleasant, McKelliswave is one of them. I missed him totally. Yeah, yeah. I mean if you blank you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're you're the you're the the th you're th you're the th you're th you're going the th you're going the I missed him totally. Yeah. Yeah. I mean if you blank you're going to miss McKelliswave. He's in every movie. That's insane. He's like the Wilhelm Scream of actors. It's like a yeah. He's like a subliminal message and everything. People figure out how they can get McKellie Swave in a movie. Is there a weird kid in this movie? There is. You know there is. Is there is there is there is there a there a medicine there a medicine there a medicine there a medicine there a medicine there a medicine there a medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine medicine the medicine medicine the medicine medicine the medicine the medicine house, but there's just geraniums everywhere? Who's tending to those geraniums? Please, I'm a foreigner and I'm lost!
Starting point is 00:03:52 God bless. That's a line. So this movie starts off in the most Swiss road that has ever existed. It's in the fucking Alps. It is so Alpine as fuck. Yeah. That's AA. It doesn't matter. A. A. A. A. A. A. F. Alpine as fuck. Yes. Yeah. We got it. We nailed it. That broke me. With Fiori Argento playing Vera Brant. A. A. A. Bira Brant. A. A. A. A. A. B. A. A. A. B. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. Al. Al. A. A. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. Al. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. A. Yeah. With Fiori Argento playing Vera Brant. A tiny baby child. She looks like a tiny baby child. Yeah, yeah. Getting left behind because she was a tourist in the Swiss nothing.
Starting point is 00:04:38 There's nowhere any. Nothing is out there. Although it's pretty. So maybe just came for the pretty. Did they just drop them off in that field and then arbitrarily decide it was time to leave? Uh-huh. It seems so. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:49 In my head, I've seen this movie a bunch of times. I always just thought she was on a school trip. Yeah. That would make more sense to me. But no, she's just a little tiny baby child. Delight? God, what a button she is. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:10 I remember, I can't remember if it was the audio commentary on this or if I was just reading something about this movie years ago, where they were like, why did you hire Jennifer Conley? I thought she was beautiful. She is beautiful, but it's still like, thiiiii, thi, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, it, thi, it, it, thi, thi, it, thi, it, it, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to. to. to. to, to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. the the thi. the the the the the the the to the the to thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to she was beautiful. Tario, she's a child. She is a beautiful child. She is beautiful, but it's still like, it hits weirder coming out of Dario Orgento. Yeah, I'm allowed to say she's beautiful. That's amazing you have commentary on this
Starting point is 00:05:35 because my version didn't even have subtitles. No. I guess I have to fucking guess the volume was so loud. Because I wanted to make sure I watch the the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the volume with so loud. Because I wanted to make sure I watched the same version that you do because there's three different cuts of this movie. Yeah, probably some of them are shorter is my guess. Well, there's the Creepers Cut which was the American release of it, which cut 20 minutes out of the film. I could see that. And then there's a version that's an hour and 16 minutes long to th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the th. the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the the. the the on DVD the 110 minute long cut. What did I watch? I think you watch 110 minute long cut as well. Wow six more minutes of
Starting point is 00:06:09 this, huh? Maybe one more Iron Maiden song could show up. It's a hot jam though. Oh I know, Flash of the Blade is a fucking smokes. But it also plays at the weirdest types. Okay, we'll get there. Yeah, we'll get there. So she is, uh, a, uh, Fior Argento is going up to this house that's out in the middle of nowhere and she's like, hello? And like opening doors and just walking into a fucking house. Please, I'm a foreigner and I'm lost. Which is how I enter all houses now. And I am now, yeah. And I am now, yeah. It's what I should have yelled when I came over to your house recently and you guys were like in the kitchen I was like hello I'm a foreigner I'm lost. And we see that there is someone or something
Starting point is 00:06:57 pulling on chains that are like screwed into the wall. And who is it? We never, is it the child? Yeah, it's the child. Okay, he's a very strong. He's very strong. Like in the devil within her? You're the devil inside her, whatever it was called, this very strong baby.
Starting point is 00:07:17 I think about very strong baby almost every day. That movie has imprinted on my soul. Why is he so strong? Just a baby. Well, wasn't it a similar situation? Wasn't she like assaulted by somebody and that's how she got? She was cursed. Yeah, oh that's right she was cursed.
Starting point is 00:07:39 So it wasn't as bad as this movie where the mother of the weird child in this movie was assaulted and that's what made the baby. What made him weird, I guess? Dario. So the person with the chains breaks out of the plaster that the chain is screwed into very easily. You have to be able to anchor chains if you're going to tie someone up. You're a stud finder. You might would just tapapap. And immediately runs out and starts strangling the foreigner who's lost. And then stabs her in the hand with scissors.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Love stabbing people with scissors. Who doesn't? I mean. She takes off running into this weird cave system that gets to a waterfall. I do not think I'd run into the cave system that are being chased, but okay. And she gets stabbed again in the tum-tum and then luckily there's a window. Fortunately for Dario. This is where she gets stabbed and her head goes through her window. Dario's back baby. Hey everybody, Dario's here in the house. And then her head is cut off and thrown into the flowing water. I do like it going over the waterfall.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I think that's a nice touch. And then somebody drags her body away. And my next note just says, and now there's a monkey? Fucking Inga. I love her so much. Is that her name? Yeah, the bugs in this scene are so loud. I could not understand what Donald Pleasance was saying. And I want to be like, it's not because he was like falling down drunk. It's because the bugs are so loud, but I think it's also because he's falling drunk. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I feel like he wasn't meant to be in a wheelchair and he was like, I'm fucking sitting so. I feel like, uh, well, I think, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, the, the, th, th, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, like, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the bugs, the the the the the the the the th's, the th's, the the thi's, the thi's, the, th's, thi's, thi's, thi's, they's, they's, the the the bugs are, the bugs are, the bugsthis, like including him. His own voice over his own. Yeah, so it's like, the sound is just like kind of but, it doesn't sound great. Yeah. Also, I'm hard of hearing, so I'm no judge of anything. Oh yeah, I couldn't hear a fucking thing. But he's a, he's a entomologist. Shout out to my favorite entomologist who recently passed away. I'm a body. who recently passed away, E.O. Wilson, up in heaven, baby. He loved ants.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Who doesn't? There's such hard workers. Capitalism. Capitalism. I thought he entered the monkey a cigarette in this scene, but I guess he didn't. He does not, but I do love a smoking monkey. I know you do. That's why I thought maybe you picked this movie. I also love the weird, like, prosthetic thing that's on the monkey's butt. Is that a prosthetic or is that just the monkey's butt?
Starting point is 00:10:09 I have always assumed it was something to like catch monkey poop. Oh, it's like a monkey diaper. Yeah. That's why my monkey has a diaper on my tattoo. Speaking of gross things all over things, uh, Donald Pleasant just has this gross head under a tarp. Yeah. It's just under a tarp, like, on his desk. But that's how we learn that it's been eight months since Vera was murdered. I would think after eight months something would be skeletonized, but I guess not.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I guess you don't know bug math. I don't know bug math. science. The eight months is a long time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Especially if it was in the water. Oh yeah, but the bugs don't get to it until it's out of the water. Oh right, he does say that. Yeah. And one of them, one of the cops is like, so now we can establish an exact date of death. And Donald Pleasens just nods yes. September 7th and September 10th? Sure. Yeah, he's like, mm-hmm. Are you gonna
Starting point is 00:11:05 leave now? Also like, they're like, and this this little girl, what was her name, Vera? Yeah. Vera has been missing since September 8th, whatever it is. It's like, no fucking dental records for this little Danish girl. You have her skull. You can identify her. You've got her fucking teeth on your desk under a farp. She's a foreigner. How are they going to get those dental records? I know, they probably don't speak Danish. Also he's just, there's a magazine sitting on his desk and I'm like 97% sure that the magazine is just called sciences. I feel like kept pausing it and trying to turn my head to see if
Starting point is 00:11:45 there was another word but I really think it just was called sciences. It's like highlights. So we learned that Inga is not only Donald Pleasant's nurse. Yeah, it's just caregiver. She's also his friend. Yeah, they're sweet. She's cute. And she also has an exacto knife for a scalpel that she found in a trash can. Who put it there? Nye did. I love when she points at herself. Inga fucking rules. Yeah, she's cute.
Starting point is 00:12:14 I, it, it, uh, chimps terrify me. Why? Because at some point they become very like, they'll kill you. Like the woman who got her- We're not going to get near it. Like a monkey ripped her face off. Oh. I'm using Chimp and Monkey interchangeably. I don't know if they're the same thing or not. It doesn't matter. I don't think so. But so the chimps, actually I'm gonna kill you now. Wow, no matter how loyal they are to you. And I go for face and genitals, so fuck your life.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Better wear a hockey mask and a jock everywhere you go. Have you ever seen a film starring Tony Danza and I think Danny DeVito called Going Ape? Yeah. Of course I have. Have you ever seen Anywitch Wave at Luce? No. Clint Eastwood and an orangutan? No. Yeah. I just... Also great.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Going ape was like one of my favorite movies when I was little and I don't think I got it. I think there's probably a lot of sex jokes in it. Yeah. And monkeys drinking beer. Really? That I think that I got, I'm sure. Definitely, I might be thinking of any which way, but loose. There's like Clyde definitely drinks beer. Uh, monkeys are great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:30 Remember Monkey Shines? Yeah. Remember Dunstan Checks in? No. Did you? Of course? theymeak? told?
Starting point is 00:13:39 I was in a band? I was in a band, I tried to convince the people that I was at a band Dunstan Checks Out. I love that. That's like my incessant wish to call a band World War 4. Which I didn't even make up, sorry. We got to start two bands, Dunson Checks Out, Col. Colin, World War 4. I love that.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Or, hear me out, world war four, colon, Dunstan checks out. Both work. Maybe it should just be an oral boar or just eating themselves. I love it. Do you know that they refer to this area as the Swiss Transylvania? I would never know. Why? Why? I don't know. We never find out, do we? Don't. Do we? Don't? Tar. T There's no reason for it? T There's the the the the the their. T. There's their. There's their. There's their. There's their. There's their. There's their. There's. There's. There's. There's their. T. T. T. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the Swiss Transylvania? I would never know. Why? I don't know. We never find out, do we? There's no reason for it. Dary and Nicolotie says that to Jennifer Godley, and he's like, why? I don't know. No, they just do. Donnell, tell me it! Yeah. I never need to know that information. It comes up later. It doesn't, it doesn't... Donald Pleasant says Donald Pless it says it later. There's nothing with the land. It's a person. So the, Darry Nicolode, I'm sorry, I should have more respect for Fra Bruckner. I'm sorry, she's Daryon Ikhner. That's a, uh, young Frankenstein. Oh yeah, Fr her and then the horses freak out. Exactly. Great movie. Perfect movie. Perfect movie. Yeah, she's picked up Jennifer Conno,
Starting point is 00:15:13 who is Jennifer Corvino, totter of Paul Corvino, famous actor. I feel like how did she get herself wrapped up in this? I felt bad for her. He loves a person going to a school that they have no familiarity with and then shit goes buck. Yeah. So, he's like, suddenly there's in one scene a voiceover, like a narration where it's like something about the new world, the student from the new world, and I thought,
Starting point is 00:15:42 who is the sudden narrator? And then he never returns. He does say that she's going to Richard Wagner's International School for Girls. Why? Why? Why? Why? In the car ride to Richard Wagner's International School for Girls, uh, a bee and lands
Starting point is 00:16:04 on Jennifer Conley's hand. She's like, oh what's up a bee? Let me pet it. She's a stroking a bee. Tarry and Nickelodeon is just like, ah! Straight up that's how I behave about bees too. And the guy driving the car just starts swerving. He just has to look at the bee. He has to be turned around and look at the bee. You've got to turn around the wheel the wheel the wheel the wheel the wheel to the wheel the wheel to to the wheel to the wheel to to the wheel to the wheel to to to to the wheel the wheel the wheel to the wheel the wheel thee thee thee thee thee thee th thee thee thee thee thee' to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be thee thee thee thee thee thee the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thee thee thee thee thee thee thee to be to be to be to be thee to be thee thee the the the the the the the the. theeee thee. theee. theee thee. thee toe the. toe. the. to be. to be turned around looking at the bee. And if you're going to turn around and look at the bee, you've got to turn that wheel side to side. Screaming. She is wild. I love her so much. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:16:33 More movies should have Dari and Nickelodeon. Yeah, it's a shame there weren't. Jennifer Conley says the line because of the time changes I haven't have have have breakfast for two days. It doesn't make a lick of sense. There's just no way. Oh, what are these here? That's baby food that my parents left from my sister. It's a gallon jar. It's like fucking Costco size. Jennifer Conley Picsonakis, pureed meat and mixed vegetables.
Starting point is 00:17:02 That's good. I'm a vegetarian. Start to eating the purine baby food with a comb. And the woman, the girl she's in a room with says, what does it task like? What's her response? I don't remember. Cat food. Yes, she doesn't like that food.
Starting point is 00:17:18 Which is meat? And also why? And then the headmistress comes in, so her roommate throws a lit cigarette into her nightstand drawer. What is wrong with you? And then she comes and takes her Paul Corvino poster away. Yeah, that's right. It's her dad. She has a poster of her dad. Imagine putting a post-y- No! I hate my father! Ha ha ha! I do, you know what's a thing I do love to do is tell people their dads are hot though. Because her roommate is hitting that real hard. She's like, I'd love to get in bed with your father. I'm Sophie the French girl. Do you know, do you know Paul Corvino? Have you gone to bed with him?
Starting point is 00:18:03 He's my father? You didn't answer my question. Yeah. And then we hear the story about her mom such a bitch. I bet you didn't hear this from the news. Oh my god. This movie is so fucking wild. It's just, I feel like Dario Argento's version of writing a movie is just being like, here are my ideas, write them down. And someone writes them down, he's like, that's a movie. That's the dialogue, go.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Go. I'm Sophie, I'm French. Oh, that is a fucking line in this movie. Oh my God. There's a murder. he's a murdering girls. He th, he th, he th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. this. this. this. th. this. this. th. th. this. th. thi. this. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Our age. Can you not tell me about this? I want to go to sleep. Yeah. It's also, it's the windiest place that's ever existed. Why is it so windy?
Starting point is 00:18:54 I guess they're in the mountains, but still. Yeah. I mean, everyone seems miserable whenever they're outdoors. So we see it's real windy and then there's a girl, oh Jennifer Conley goes asleep and then in her dream we see that there's a girl running with Iron Baden playing really loud. Really really loud. Over just like a girl going into a building and like walking around with whinananananan it's just going over to it. It is so misplaced. I love it so much. It's not going quick. It needs to be a car chase for that song. Sure, yeah, or falling down a hill or something where there's a lot of
Starting point is 00:19:31 kinetic energy being spent. Velocity to it. Later on when Donald Pleasants is being taken out of the house on a stretcher and Motorhead is playing at 20, the volume is so loud. It was like blown out in the movie. There's a point where she's chasing a firefly. And when I say chasing, I mean walking calmly with her hands in front of her, and it's just fucking whaling. It's insane. Oh, that's what it's like the weird prog rock, like, I think that's the Bill Wyman from the Rolling Stone song. I thought it was a Claudio C. Manetti, according to my phone. Of the, when I ask Google, what is this song? Of your Goblin fame, yeah, that probably is him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:09 The song slaps? Yeah, it's just a weird place for it. Yeah, no, the soundtrack is completely misplaced and is wonderful. So Jennifer Conley is sleepwalking. Yes. As she's watching this girl being chased, and iron, the the thaaaaaaughed tha, tha, tha, tha, the thiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th Iron Maiden's playing loudly. And then she sleepwalks to the outside ledge in the building she's in? Yes. And sees the girl get stabbed through the back of the head.
Starting point is 00:20:35 And then her face goes through glass. Yeah, this time she got stabbed in the mouth, which is probably Dario Argento reminding us how he feels about women talking. Such a fucking bang dog. And the roof ledge crumbles underneath the Jennifer Conley. Luckily, she's wearing a weird overcoat and it gets stuck and she doesn't fall directly to the ground. She kind of swings and then drops into a bush. She's wearing this like cut-off neck sweatshirt, black sweatshirt with like a gold moth on the back or something? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which then later, Sophie is wearing in the movie,
Starting point is 00:21:08 but it doesn't seem to mean anything. I put it on my accident. I'm Sophie, I'm French. It's so hard for me because I'm confused, because I'm French. And I'm Sophie. Then she's like suddenly in town sleepwalking and all the cars are almost hitting her. That road sure is busy in the middle of the night and no one is stopping to see what's going on through this tiny village. Uh, she gets hit by two bozos.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Yeah. And they put her in the car. And this is really happening or this is happening in her dream? I think it's really happening. Because like the stuff in her dream is th is is like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thiiiiiii. thiiii. thi. And, thi. And, thi, thi, thi, thi, the stuff in her dream is that like blown out super bright and then like the bozos are not that. No, they look normal, yeah. Yeah. But then they're like kind of groping on her so she bales out of the car, rolls down a hill. Yes. Who finds her? The monkey. The monkey. She just takes the monkey's hand and walks in a window. No. Wunc. The monkey takes her back to Donald Pleasant's house. Oh and there's some lady bugs that are talking to her too when she falls down the field. What do you think they were saying?
Starting point is 00:22:13 Hey! Hey! Welcome to Switzerland. Windy, watch out. There's murdering people, your age. We're French. She ends up at Donald Pleasant's house and he's like, I had a student that used to come here, she left her coat upstairs, the monkey will take you up to go get it.
Starting point is 00:22:30 And they get in the wheelchair, like chairlift thing? Why couldn't they have walked up the stairs? Both could have walked up the stairs? They just take forever to go up the stairs. Did she just want to go up the stairs in the trail. Did she just want to ride it? And then she comes back down in Chiquillo Neal's jacket. I think it will fit you. When she comes down, looking shoulders around her elbows. Does it fit her? And then the bug starts making mating sounds. Yeah. Because it wants to fuck Jennifer Conley, which is weird. Also when she's walking away from the lady bugs we get a lady bugs-eye view of them walking away which is like eight lenses looking at the same time. I like that they do it later with a fly too. So dumb. Yeah. At this
Starting point is 00:23:15 point the bugs to see her let's see what the bugs see. Do you not want to be a bug? Do you not want to be a bug? Yeah, the book's trying to fuck her. I've never seen a bug do this. It's like the beginning to the worst penhouse letter ever. I never thought it would happen to me. This bug wanted to fuck me. It's like Franz Kafka wrote a pen house letter. Gregor, no!
Starting point is 00:23:49 Get off of her! Oh, I still have to go to work. So we get back to the school and the headmistress tells her that no student has ever left the school at night before ever. That everybody does constantly. What a fucking liar. And they're going to get the the school and the headmistress tells her that no student has ever left the school at night before ever. That everybody does constantly. What a fucking liar. And they're going to give her an EEG? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:12 And she rips everything off her head. Because somehow they're like implanting it in her. They're not implanting it in her. They're like bringing up her dream. And how? Yeah. E-E-H-E-G. Okay. She rips off the things and like storms out of the room, which I like wish I had that self-assuredness now. She's like a 15-year-old girl. I have to note, they are very concerned to have a very loose grasp of science.
Starting point is 00:24:36 They should get a subscription to science. they're in. When she says he's not a man, he's got more hands than the entire basketball team? What about the doctor? What? What? What? He's very hancy.
Starting point is 00:24:55 I get that, but he's not a man. He's got more hands than the entire basketball team. It's like it almost rhymes. Like than the entire basketball team. It's like it almost rhymes. Yeah, like Sophie was gonna freestyle and then stopped. Oh, Jennifer Connolly, give me a beep. She's not a man, he's got more hands than the entire basketball team. Ha ha ha ha. V. G's tea shirt, like what is happening in this scene?
Starting point is 00:25:23 Teachers teach them about a poem, and where do you think this poem is from, I think it is P-G's lyrics? What is the guy's name? I can't remember it now, from the B-G's? What is his name? Oh, Andy Gibb? Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:40 Just a tea-s? With a t-shirt with a giant picture of his face that just says bea-g's technically a b-g technically one one b-g and then there's a Richard Geer joke yeah class is over the class like goes ballistic at the Richard gear joke they cannot fucking believe she fucking teared
Starting point is 00:26:00 deaf comedy jam Everyone just starts throwing shit Oh no she didn't. Oh man. So that night Jennifer Conley convinces Sophie to keep an eye on her while she's sleeping. Yeah. Which Sophie does not do. She sneaks out to get some butt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Sophie is constantly smoking. I love this about her. She's 11. She accidentally puts on Jennifer Conley's sweater. Yeah, meets it with the dude. And the dude's like, oh no I have to go, my regiment is three hours away. What are you in the Swiss military? Sir, what the fuck are you talking about right now? Calm the fuck down. First of all, you came here. Second of all, what the fuck does the Swiss military do? They refuse? Is that their thing? th, th, their their th, th, their their th, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi, thi, this this this thi, thi, thi, this this tho, this this this thus this this thus thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th is th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, you came here. Second of all, what the fuck does the Swiss military do? They refuse. Isn't that their thing? They're training on putting their guns down.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Yeah, they're training and being like, look, I don't know, guys. Oh my God. Oh my God. I got to go join my regiment. They're three hours away. the military? We never see him again. And at first I was like, is he one of the guys that picked up? Nope. Nope, he's a different guy.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Just a guy wearing the same outfit that they were. Yeah, I mean, it was the 80s. We all had the same clothes. I guess. So Jennifer Conley begins to sleep the trick that John McGregor taught her. Shetland just tell yourself it's a dream. Just tell yourself it's a dream. I must wake up. That's what she does. I'm having a dream I must wake up. He's not a man he's got more hands. Then the basketball team. Ah ha ha ha. Maybe we should get into slam poetry. Is it too late in life? It is. If you have to
Starting point is 00:27:51 ask it is. Anyway, she finds a black glove. Because this is the firefly leads her to the black glove. Yeah, this is like a absolutely wild score is playing. It's so good, it's so loud. And this little worm I think tells her of Sophie's death. She puts the glove on inside and screams, cut to John McGregor's house, where she then tells him why she screamed. Yes, that's right. And we see her scream again. And we see her scream again.
Starting point is 00:28:26 I just have a note that says, what is the connection between insects and the human soul? I think the answer is not really much of anything. So he tells her that she's got a connection to bugs. And she's like, yeah, all right. You've got the ESP. This bug, these larvae, these mie, these maggots, are only found on dead human bodies. Right. On dead bodies of humans.
Starting point is 00:28:54 The sarcophagus. Oh my god. She ends up back at the school and all the girls are bullying her, which makes no fucking sense. It is so reminiscent of the, oh, girls with names that starts with S or snakes. That's right. That's the right. Fruck off, dude. One of them, one of these girls, one of these girls just comes up to her and goes, Jennifer, and sticks her tongue out, and it's like, that's not even fucking good. One of them is just making bee noises and goes,
Starting point is 00:29:27 they're all pretending to be bugs. And I wrote, I hope she can summon a horde of insects and then, and of course she can. She did. She can. She's written a letter to her father. And is this the point where everyone's like... They're all reading the letter aloud. She she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she she th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. She th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th th th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th her father? And is this the point where everyone's like- They're all reading the letter aloud.
Starting point is 00:29:46 She wrote this weird letter to her dad. Why do they all need to know? And it's like two teachers and 12 students. And I was like, this is highly unprofessional. The headmisters is like, you all need to look out for this crazy bitch. And you think she's th th she's, she's just a bitch. Oh man, he doesn't hide it, does he? No. I love how mean Argento thinks girls are. He just does not have any sense.
Starting point is 00:30:17 For having several many daughters. Yeah. That's not how they behave. They're very mean, but not in that way. Yeah. You've never buzzed at anybody? No. I've never had cause to, really.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Yeah, no, you never had a classmate with a psychic connection to books. And if I had known that they did, I don't think buzzing at them would have been my first instinct. Befriend them. They're magical. And keep the bees off me the bees the bees off me me me me me me me me me me me the bees off me the bees off me the bees off me, I'm allergic. So she conjures a bunch of flies that come in and torture her classmates. It's pretty good. And then she passes out, wakes up with an IV in her arm. Yes, pulls it out of her own arm.
Starting point is 00:30:57 And the headmister's like, she's diabolic. The nurse has fallen asleep so she like packs her stuff and sneaks out. I like the nurse almost dropping her knitting needle and then it landing in the ball of yard. I love that. I thought that was good. And then the cuckoo clock and she just like sticks her finger on the clock. Yeah, shuts it up.
Starting point is 00:31:15 So uh, yeah, she escapes to do the d'A the wheelchair and it's so cute. At one point she's talking to Donald Pleasant's at Inga, and Inga's just like staring off in the middle, just like, this sucks. I don't fucking speak English. I'm so bored right now. I wish you would shine the red light on something so I can go get it. So I can remember it forever as we're told. And like how she gets changed at Donald Pleasance's house and puts on a tie. Huh? A white silk tie. She also wears nothing but white for the entire film,
Starting point is 00:31:47 like I think is a little weird. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Well, it's a little virginal. Yeah. Well, she's got that black sweater with a moth on the back. But what does it mean? And that beret that's pulled down so far on her. Yes, she looks like she's a member of like the French Marine Corps, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:05 Also, I guess Sophie gets killed in the Black Mock black sweater, so that's why we never see it again. It's a nice sweater too. Yeah, she's probably pissed. And we keep saying that the killer has this metal knife weapon that they click together to make it long, like a pole arm? Yeah, like a pole arm. It's very weird. Which, oh yeah, the kid has it at the end, because I remember being like, oh good, here's a child with a spear.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Truly terrifying. Yeah. At this point, I was sure that Donald Pleasant and the monkey shines that's actually like really nice? It's really nice. It was really like super intense, like all of a sudden there was like this intense sex scene going on with that movie. Also she was supposed to be his nurse. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:55 Just fuck that dude. Nurse with benefits. Oh God. That's a penhouse letter too. Never thought it would happen to me. This bug and this nurse. And this monkey. Oh shit.
Starting point is 00:33:13 So he decides that she is a master detective. Oh my god, he has so much faith in her. And he gives her a fly in a little cage. She's just riding around on the bus with. And everybody on the bus is not an actor and can't stop scaring staring directly down the barrel of the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tooge and tooge and th, and the the thears. And thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and thiress and th riding around on the bus with. And everybody on the bus is not an actor and can't stop staring directly down the barrel of the camera. It's so good. I feel like I would do that though.
Starting point is 00:33:34 Like, someone would be like, don't look at it. It would just be my head turning, turning, turning, like home or going into the bushes. Or like looking with your eyes, but not the camera. the camera. the camera. the camera. the camera. the camera. the camera. the camera. the camera. to. the camera. to. the camera. to. the camera. the camera. to. the camera. to be. to be. to be. to be. to be. to be. to be. tooome. to be. tooom. tooom. to be, to be, to be, to be, the the the the the the the the the the the the the to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, to be. And, the the the the the the the the the. And, the. And, tea. And, tea. And, tea. And, tea. And, tea. And, tea. And, tea. And, tea. And, the teto the side. Am I looking? Am I looking? Or like looking with your eyes, but not your head. It's the camera looking at me, am I looking at the camera? What does the fly find? The fly? This, get this great scene of her getting off the bus where... The fly pulls the stop requested cord.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Because this is where we get off. I love the bus driver has that the bus the bus the bus the bus has the bus has that reach around behind him and open the door to let people on. Really inefficient. Now that little do Higgis handle really is a great invention. Sure is. Um, and so she could have had German engineering in Switzerland at the time, you know what I mean? Well, might have been pushing back on the German engineering. I guess, but still, they know hydraulics. I don't know. Buses, I guess. Look, I'm not a subscriber to Sciences Magazine.
Starting point is 00:34:33 I don't know these things. She gets out the bus with the fly. Let's the fly out of his cage, throws the cage on the ground. Yeah, just litters that things that blunders that that that that that that that thing. That belongs to your friend. The only friend you have in this country. You know, the guy with a bunch of bugs that want to fuck you. And so she, we get this great scene of her like looking and following this little fly that I think is just on a string in front of her. And they take her to the house where the chained-up person was. She's chasing it like a cat. Let's be honest. Like a laser pointer. She goes into the house and she's wandering around and she like puts a hole in the floor? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Like trying to jump up and get these papers that are on a high shelf? Right, this is the same house that we saw the girl at the beginning go into. Right, and the chained-up thing. The geraniums. Yes. Still looking great, by the way. And then a groundskeeper realtor guy shows up? A state agent, yeah. Who's like wearing coveralls? Yeah, like you do not, you're not a bigger real estate agent. And we've also seen that there's this car that's been following her.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Oh right. That's parked at the end of the driveway. There's all these clues, except there aren't. But the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th is th is thatter thatting thathea thathea thathea thathea' thathea' that's thatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheatheathea, that's th. thathea, thathea, thathea, thathea, th. that's th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thatt. thatt. thatt. that that that the. the. the the the the the the the the the the thea thea thea thea. thea. don't actually lead to anything. They don't matter at all. This guy catches her in the house and she's like, oh, I'm sorry, I was... I'm not foreigner and I'm lost. I'm trying to find somewhere to poop. And he makes her leave and she runs away and then Geiger, the cop shows up. But first she finds the flot, the fly, the fly finds the hand, right? Or did she find that after her? Because I know the fly finds a hand from... The fly, the fly finds the hand, but she doesn't fight. Because the fly goes down the hole that she does not go down. Right, okay. It's from eight and a half months
Starting point is 00:36:13 ago it looks mostly not decomposed. I just don't think so. There are those bugs. Do you only find on dead. thi thi. There are those are those those those those tho tho tho tho tho tho the the tho the the the the the the tho the tho the the thi the thi the the fly the fly thi the fly thi the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly thi the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly the fly thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha thi. dead. That hand is not still living on its own. No. And I wondered if H.R. Giger is Swiss. So it's like, oh, this is a little not to H.R. Giger? I like this. Might be. Well, when did, who invented the Geiger counter? It's a goodger counter?
Starting point is 00:36:43 It just shows you where petis and vaginas are in every place you are. Everything you look at what could possibly be phallic. That doorway is very vaginal. Oh I see a labia. Yes I know HR. I know you do. Oh boy howdy. So we cut back to Donald Pleasance at his house. Yeah, getting murdered. Yeah, the killer shows up and he shines the red light that will make Inga remember. I find the scene very distressing when she's trying to get into the house to save Donald Pleasant. Yeah, she's like trying to break the wooden slats on the window.
Starting point is 00:37:24 And like whining and crying? That monkey's crying and screaming goes on for a long time and is as loud as the score which is to say incredibly fucking loud. It made Glenn jump off the couch. You should put it at a dialogue volume. Mm-hmm. Mbrem-m-mr-mr-m. Mn-mr-mm. M-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-mah-m-m-m-m-m-m-mah-m-mon-mon, th-mon thon thon thon thon thoom thon thon thin thin th th th-m th-m th-m the-m the-m that that stops him on the lift. Which is also very distressing because he's trapped. Completely trapped, yeah. And then brings him down and stabs him in the tum-tum. Yeah, stops him for no reason other than to prove that they can.
Starting point is 00:37:58 And I like when Inga finally gets in and he's dying or dead, and she comes over and kind of pokes the wound. Like, doubting Thomas is it. And then they, we see it being wheeled out into an ambulance. This is when the loud, loud, loud, or motorhead is so fucking loud. Yeah. They don't cover his face, which leads you to believe he's not dead. He's dead. He's dead. Uh, this ambulance ran out of sheets. Sorry about that. This th. th. th. th. th. th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th is thii thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we thi, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th, we th. We see thi, we see thi, we see th sheets. Sorry about that. Sorry, we just only have the chest down sheet. This poor little monkey though. Oh Inga. She goes out, goes rogue on her own looking for justice though. She's just eating out of trash cans. Oh man. And she finds a fucking straight racer in a trash can.
Starting point is 00:38:38 And she's like, fuck yeah, this is dangerous. I know that. Meanwhile, Jennifer is on the lamb. And she's gone into town and she's trying to get in toucest with Morris, who's her dad's agent? Agent slash attorney, I think, yeah. And she's like, give me the fuck out of here, dog. Send me money. Morse doesn't do that. Why does Morris do what he does? I don't know. He thinks it's best. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's th is. He'shmm. Morse doesn't do that.
Starting point is 00:39:05 Why does Morris do what he does? I don't know. He thinks it's best. Doesn't work out for Morris, as we'll see later on. It doesn't work out for anyone. Because he calls Daria Nicolody, and it's like, yo, come get your girl, and then I'll come and get her. Yeah. So you get her and then I'll get her. Why doesn't he just let send her home on a plane? She seems worldly enough to go on a
Starting point is 00:39:27 hotel for the night? Yeah, yeah. Who knows? Who knows? I don't know. The long time I thought his name was Mars because of the way Jennifer Connolly says Morris. She kind of just matches it together? Mars. And then somebody else says more. the the the the the the the the the the their. the their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. he he th. th. he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he the the the the to to to to to the. to to to to to to to to their to to to to to their to to to their he the. the. says, Morris. And I was like, oh, okay, I got you now. Gotcha. So for some reason she agrees to stay at Dari and Nicolodi's house, which is like, no, obviously, this is a bad choice. And it's a bad choice from the second she walks in, and she takes a long time to do anything about it. Yeah. And they're immediately like, they're just pissing on each th. and like being dicks. Yeah. And Dari and Nicolote is talking about her ill child and a really mean voice.
Starting point is 00:40:07 You can never see him. And then she thinks she kicks the train into him, but it's a doll that falls over. And she's like, did you think that was my child? It's a doll? She picks up the doll? She picks it up, It's a doll. It's a child-sized doll. Yeah. And like, grasp it by the arm and it's like, but when she picks it up, it's waist separate,
Starting point is 00:40:29 so it's top and bottom or like a foot apart. And Jennifer Collins, like, don't do that to him. You're a fucking idiot, Jennifer. There's a bigger problem, Jennifer. And then she's like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they, the, the, they, they, they, they, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, they, they, they, they, they. It, the, the, the, the, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they.. It's, they. It's, like, they. It's, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they. It's, like, when she's, like, they. It it's like, well, of course, she should be fucking frightened. You're a psycho. You've just done your heel turn. Yes, she's frightened. You've taken off your glasses and now you're me.
Starting point is 00:40:51 And Jennifer Conley does very little to get away again. Yeah, she just takes the pill that Nicolot. the pill that Nicolae Nicolet tells her, tells, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, t, you, you, you, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, you're, you, you, you, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you. Yeah, you. Yeah, you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you're, you're, t. t. t. t. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. taken. t feels her tum to sort. Did she take it in the first place? I don't know. I don't know. The whole bad old scene though, I was like, put your finger down your throat immediately. Great work. Now drink some water so you can barf that. So you can barf that, and she drinks the water and I was like, that's smart, that's really smart, that's, yeah, she just she thought she could just smart ass her way out of
Starting point is 00:41:27 this but she couldn't. She couldn't. And when she knocks her the fuck out, she hits a switch and metal shutters close all over the windows. And as per Giallo movies, the cop walking up to the house does not notice the house going into lockdown. He's what eight feet away? And then they just just just just just just the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. S. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the? And then they just go for a walk, him and Dario Nicolotie? Yeah, she just walks out the front door. Yeah, they seem to have a pre-existing relationship. I guess. I guess. And he says something about her being attacked through bars, but it's real quick and you don't really get it. Yeah, she was assaulted. Yeah, and that's how she thrown. Yeah, I don't know. And that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's how. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that's how. that's how. that's how that's how that's how that's how she's how she's how she's how she's how she's how she's how she's how the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the she got pregnant. Is that who? But it's supposed to be 15 years ago. That kid can't be 15. Or I guess he could be. I mean, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:07 I don't know. I don't know how weird. He has the voice of a small child. Yeah, and the mouth of a small fish. It's very bizarre. And we hear screaming in the house when Jennifer Gondley wakes up. the the the the to. to. to. the to. to. the the to her. Is this, so there's a scene where the cop goes to like a mental hospital and is told that as the further down they get the more barbaric the... Yeah. Is that part of it? Don't know. Okay. Okay. Maybe that's the hospital
Starting point is 00:42:34 that she got attacked in. Okay, why was she in the hospital? I don't know. Okay. It's like a little Freddy Kruger thike. It that's like, th. It's like, th. It's like, th. It's like, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, that, that, that, that, that, that, the the that, that, the the the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more, the more the more, the more, the more, th. th. thi, thi, that, that, the more, the more, the more, the more that, the more the more bar. the more barbue, the more barbue, the more, the more the more the more the more, the more, the more, the more of the, you know, Thousand Maniacs and all that stuff. Okay. Yeah, I hate that. Yeah, yeah, no, it's, it's, yes. The backstories Freddy Kruger turns out is real gross. This is terrible, terrible. Terrible. Terrible, terrible. Terrible. Terrible. No, put it away. Iron Bain starts playing again. And you're like, kicks this much ass the second time. It's so good, it's just a song about dueling.
Starting point is 00:43:05 We hear, we hear, we've heard Geiger scream once, and then the song starts, and then he screams again, which I liked a lot. Oh, it was him screaming. I've always assumed it was the sun screaming. No, I think it's Geiger. That makes sense. I don't know. Because when we see him again, he's all fucked the fuck up. And she just leaves him. She doesn't give a shit about him. She's too busy laughing. Yeah. She does a little bit of phone fishing.
Starting point is 00:43:32 It's so good. It's like such, supposed to be such a tense scene, but you're just like. Just fucking dual guitar and triple harmonies with dual guitar piece and just it won't it's so loud it's so loud it's not tension making but it's making you tense because you're like can you please just turn a tip can you turn it down please I'm so uncomfortable right now also she could easily have gotten through that what's that called above a door a vent a vent a no no no a rampart what is the window above a door called I don don't know. I had it as vent because. What is the window above a door called?
Starting point is 00:44:08 A transom. Ah, a transom! Yes, you could have easily gotten through that transom. You know they call this area, the Swiss Transomvania. Oh my god. Why? The Pennsylvania Transylvania. I like that a lot. It is dark here. And windy. Dark and windy.
Starting point is 00:44:29 A lot of Dracola is walking around. Yeah, we're all very pale. She's phone fishing, but she drops the phone and it falls down. A tunnel. A tunnel. There's no basement in this house. There is a mere tunnel. No thank you to crawling into this hole under the floor. We see
Starting point is 00:44:45 that Morris has shown up in Zurich now. Yes. Yes. Yes. That will come back later. Yeah momentarily. She gets through the hole, reaches the phone, and then like... And it rings. It rings. Who is it? Morris? Morris. She just hangs up on him, right? He hangs up on her. And then, instead of like just using the phone to call call the phone th, th, th, th, th, th, like, th, th, like, the phone, like, the phone, th, like, th, th, th, the phone, th, th, th, the phone, th, th, th, th, th, th, to to th, tho, to to to to to to to to to to to to to th, th, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, the thrown, the thrown, the the thrown, the the thrown, the thrown, thrown, thrown thrown, thrown thooo on her. And then, instead of like just using the phone to call for help, she decides to like sort of crawl around with it for a bit, like just lay right there and use it. Who doesn't like to take a phone for a walk? That's why these cellular phones are so popular. Yeah, it's true. And when she comes up with it, there's Daria Nickelodey. Uh-uh th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. What's she doing? Screaming, I think? And laughing. And laughing, yes. When... And Giger is chained to the wall. Loves channing people to the wall.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And then I thought, like, was this one anchored? Because of that cave, this movie. What's in there? Bodies? Uh-huh. Dukie? Oatmeal, perhaps? So many maggots. So many maggots. Why do Italian movie makers love maggots so much? This movie has a luchio fulchy amount of maggots in it? No, this surpasses. I will remind you, my friend of Maggott Storm.
Starting point is 00:46:10 I will never forget about 9-stor. When he glued maggots to people's faces, and the man answers the maggot phone. Doesn't that woman throw up and it's definitely her actually vomiting? Oh, which movie was that in? That is. Oh, I so try to. Snack at it. Oh, wow. Which movie was that? That is City of the Living Dead. City of the Living Dead. Classic, where the woman pukes up her own intestines.
Starting point is 00:46:33 Yeah, there's a lot of puking in the movie. The zombie. The zombie. not a black man. Yeah, that's right. Man, what a fantastic moving. It's terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Now here's a question. Why doesn't she just get those worms to rise up like she summoned that horde of insects? Heck, they have to be adults.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Oh, and babies don't listen to her. Yeah, they have to fuck her again. Historically no. Hager breaks th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tha th tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha tha thoom tho. No, historically no. Historically no. Geiger breaks his hand and pulls off the shackles. I thought he was going to de-glove himself and I was very upset. I don't watch that. But yeah, he then attacks Dari Nikolodi and beats the shit out of her. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:16 And she's dumb. We're not going to see her again. Well, we assume so because she just leaves inspector Giger. Inspector Geiger there on his own. He's got this. Yeah. Sorry. No go. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm wilding out. I'm sweating. I'm so excited about the end of this movie. So Jennifer Conley runs out of the house, gets in a boat. Yeah. Well wait. First she's seen the child in his room. Oh that's right. He's standing in a corner and he's like, go away. tho come to me. It's th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. th. the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I. I. I. I. I. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. th. th. to. I's. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. I's. I's. I's. I's. I's. I'm. I'm. S. S. And she's like, oh, come here, come to me, it's fine. And he turns around and he has a deformed face. And she screams and runs out of the room.
Starting point is 00:47:51 We don't know at that point that he's the killer. Just like, that is no way to treat a yeah, it looks like a fish. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But a little more gapy? Sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah, like one of those weird goat fish. I don't know a goat fish, but I will Google goat fish. Uh, are they the ones that have, oh no, sheep's headfish.
Starting point is 00:48:15 No, sheep's headfish, sheep's headfish. What? Google Sheep's headfish. All right, hang on. Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do. I'm gonna sip some beers while you do some googs. Googs and beers and gooos. Oh my god, look at that fish. And they have like two or three rows of the human teeth, too. Look, you get one. Oh fuck you. It's very upsetting. Oh, fuck you. Doesn't that look like a horse? It does. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:45 That's probably why I hate it. Yeah. Oh, dude, I was, I went down a parasite Googling thing the other day. Oh, I thought we talked about you not doing this anymore. And like, I looked up one thing. I won't tell you what it was like one thing and I was like, oh, I can handle that. And then it doubled up and I went, I can't handle it. I was like on my tablet and just put it down. Oh boy. I couldn't even go away from the page.
Starting point is 00:49:08 I was like, I can't look at you anymore. Going to sleep boat. Why do you? Why do you? And to do you? Or are you just googling things that go inside your penis when you're swimming? Go, can deer a fish now? Things that can come out in your poopies. Ooh, pinworms.
Starting point is 00:49:34 Well, this is a parasite that only affects fish and a specific type of fish. Yeah? You're gonna tell me about it thou. No, I won't th you thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi me about it though, aren't you? You said you wouldn't and now you're doing it. I'm just saying it's not it's not dick or butt related at all. I guess that's all I need it to know. Okay, so now she's in the boat. She runs out. She gets in the boat. I don't know what she's planning to do with that boat because she's kind of just sits there. She kind of sits there and then s sissed sits the the the the th sits th starts there and starts there and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts and starts s starts s starts and starts s starts s starts s starts s starts s starts s starts s starts s slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly slowly s s s s s s' s s s' to to to I'm hopping in the boat with you. It's like, oh good, a child with a spear. And then he stabs the gas tank. Yeah. Which she doesn't seem to notice? I think you might.
Starting point is 00:50:08 No. And then what happens with the two of them? He just comes apart. Oh, wait, she screams. She screams. the lady we want to fuck. That's our fuck lady. And they come buzzing on in, blackening out the sky, and eat him alive. He just comes apart at the seams. Not even at the seams, he just comes apart in crumbly pieces. Like a goddamn short breath.
Starting point is 00:50:37 And he falls into the water, and she tries to start the engine, which makes the boat explode. Yeah, which she tries tries tries tries tries tries tries th is th is th is th is ths ths thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thinks thi doesn't thi thinks thinks thi thi, which makes the boat explode. Yeah, and everything around it explode because there's gas in the water. Luckily, she can swim. Yeah, which she didn't seem to be able to do in the pool of filth. Yeah, we'll go to try. Can you swim in a pool of filth? I think if I had to, I'd be much quicker to get out of a pool of filth filet... Can I keep your face up? It's in my nose! It's in my nose! Eh! Eek!
Starting point is 00:51:06 Eh! So as she's swimming, the now mostly dismembered kid grabs her. I'm sorry, he's not dismembered. He's just skinless. Skinless, yeah. Or as my note said, he's real messed up. He's so fucked up. And the Lake River, whatever is burning now because of all the gasoline.
Starting point is 00:51:27 It must have been a lot of gasoline in that tank of that small craft. Yeah, because it's like catastrophe levels of burning. Yeah, this is the, yes, there's been an oil spill and now there's a fire. It's Lake Erie on the shores of, or is it the Cleveland River or something? Something in Cleveland has caught a flame. Was it Love Canal that caught a flame? I don't know, it doesn't. Definitely happened in Cleveland though. I'm sure Cleveland has burned at some point. Or the river, the water, not the city itself.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Yeah, they got that beer, a burning river. Yeah, exactly. You're right. lessons. I know things. No I don't. I'm fun though. So eventually the kid burns after it tries to attack her and she swims to land and she gets to land and Morris shows up and everything's fine. He's like hey it's me Morris how did you end up here? I don't know how did he end up there at that house? I don't know if a Daria Nickelode is like fuck your head dog I'm chopping it off with a sign or something? Like a very thin piece of sheet metal.
Starting point is 00:52:27 Yeah. Daria is killing it at this point. She's just fucking a delight to watch. She's covered in like, she has like gore face. Yeah. But she's just like, because you know she killed my son. I loved my son. I'm gonna fuck you up real bad. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that. that. Yeah. that. Yeah. thi. thi. Yeah. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. killed my son? I loved my son. I'm gonna fuck you up real bad. And then what happens? The monkey rolls up with a straight razor?
Starting point is 00:52:50 It just fucking kills her. The monkey wins. And then, Inga and Jennifer Connolly hug. Yeah. At the end of the movie. And my final note is, thank you, Dario, you fucking nut bar. Can I tell you my last note?, thank you, Dario, you fucking nutbar. Can I tell you my last note? Jesus wept. Holy shit. Oh man, I picked a winner. You did.
Starting point is 00:53:15 Alan, I gotta tell you. Yeah. You've heard of Stockholm syndrome. I think I've come to sympathize with my my captor here. You've got our Gendo Syndrome. I've got our Gendo Syndrome, where I'm like, no, this is fine. This is a movie. I remember a review someone wrote, like, a long time ago that was like, the best movies are the ones where Katie goes, but Alan, it's not a movie.
Starting point is 00:53:43 And this is one of those movies. The best movies are the ones where Katie goes, but Alan, it's not a movie and Alan Titterson says, I love it. And this is one of those movies. So the reason I have an Inga tattoo is because I love my friends. Yeah. And it's my, don't fuck with my friends or I'll fucking kill you tatu. And then you're gonna shit in that diaper. And then I'm gonna shit in that diaper. No, that's a good tattoo. And then I'm going to shit in that diaper.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Drawn by my friend Mike Bukowski. Yeah. Yeah. The blob episode, many moons ago. Many moons ago. And so yeah, that's why Inga holds such as, because she was like, you know, you killed my fucking friend. I'm going to hunt you down and murder you.
Starting point is 00:54:20 And this other lady is my friend, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi,. Because my friend liked her, and I like her, too. Yeah, that's sweet. And then I thought, does she take that monkey back to America? She better have. She definitely does. She's a rich girl. Yeah. And then later it's gonna rip her.
Starting point is 00:54:32 Yeah, poor Jennifer. Poor Jennifer Connolly. still working. Yeah. Love her. Gady. Rate this movie for me. I'm going to give it a 10 for the women of Dario Argento's life lives really. Yeah. Because they're from all over. That he keeps killing. And I'm going to give it a three for Tario Argento's ideas. And I'm going to make that, I'm going to average those together for a six and a half.
Starting point is 00:55:07 Okay, okay. I would absolutely watch this again, but it's not a good movie. It's insanely stupid. It's like... It's like... It's like... It's like...
Starting point is 00:55:22 He made this script out of a can of those spaghettios that are shaped like letters, you know? Yeah, uh-huh, yeah. And it was fine. It worked. Alpha bits cereal? They still make that? No, it's not 1985. I hope so.
Starting point is 00:55:41 I think this is a fucking 10. I knew it! I think this is the last great Dario Argento week. Okay. And I was reading, I think it was on Wikipedia, it's like, someone wrote a review that was like, like, Darry O'Gentos lost it and I was like, ah, yes, of course he has. He never had it, really. But it's like, oh, you mean loss of the taltal, tal, tale, tale, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, it, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, their. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, th. Like, like, th. Like, like, likea and and Tanner Bray and those movies spurred with the crystal plumage. That movie was so but.
Starting point is 00:56:12 But like, I don't know, it's like a, uh, uh, I don't even know. It's like a fever dream for sure. It's fever dream. It's like, it's, like it's it's almost art house because of how fucking wackadoo it is yeah but it's too low brow to also be art house right and like I feel like that's exactly where I want to fit in in life yeah but like couldn't you be convinced that this whole thing was Jennifer Conley's dream like she fell asleep that first night and just hasn't woken up yet? Yeah yeah yeah she's gonna wake up next to Paul Corvino to to the to to to to to to the to to to th. to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thu-a thu-a thu-a thu-a thu-a thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu to to to thu to thu to thu to thu to thu to thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu th convinced that this whole thing was Jennifer Conley's dream? Like she fell asleep that first night and just hasn't woken up yet? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:46 Yeah, she's gonna wake up next to Paul Corvino, her father lover, who is now a giant book. Gregor Corvino. Oh, I love this movie so much. I know. Oh, it is. I was like, I need to do an Italian harp. Oh, we th, I th, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, th to do an Italian harp. Oh my God, we haven't done phenomena yet. I feel like, is that it for Argento then? What else are we going to do?
Starting point is 00:57:08 I mean, there's still movies we can do from Argento. Okay, you're still, okay. You still got some of the hopper. There's still plenty of stuff. Yeah, we can do. where it's like half the movies Romero and half the movies are gentle. That sounds silly. Yeah, there's a lot of, there's still a lot of things we can do. Okay, good. You know what else is good? What?
Starting point is 00:57:30 The Patron? I love the Patron. I love the Patrons. I love the Patron. tooans. the toen. Hello. Greetings from Wisconsin.
