Episode Date: March 28, 2022

In this week's episode, we're discussing fake Satan, fake metal and fake 20-somethings in the 2019 horror film "We Summon the Darkness." Special topics for your consideration include: the joy of watch...ing people have fun, quality crazy faces, disappointing M. Night Shyamalan, sartorial inaccuracies of every g.d. movie about the Satanic Panic, more hard-to-pronounce words, the long-lasting effects of that one Dee Snider movie and the fact that we kept calling this "the Johnny Knoxville horror movie" even though he's in like, three scenes and is pretty questionable in each. Starting point is 00:00:00 We've been calling this the Johnny Knoxville horror movie. He's in two scenes. You know what I'm grateful for? What? Him being in two scenes. Yeah, that's two scenes too many, frankly. You know what Johnny Knoxville is real good at? Herting his body. He's in two scenes in two scenes. Yeah, that's two scenes too many, frankly. You know what Johnny Knoxville's real good at? Hurting his body. And hurting his friend's bodies. Yeah, you know what Johnny Knox was not good at? Being an actor. Yeah. Yeah. Luckily, most of the other actors in this movie were pretty good. I, so when the girls first show up, I was like, oh my god, these girls. And then by the end of the movie. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the girl. the girl. the girl. the girl. the girl. the girl. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah......................................... the... the. the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the the th. th. the th. the the th. the the th. the the the the the the th. th. the th And then by the end of the movie, I was like, I love them.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Alexandra Didario? Is one of the most striking-looking human beings I've ever seen. Very beautiful. She needs to play a vampire in a movie stat. Seriously. She's like otherworldly looking. Apparently she was in a Texas chainsaw remake. Oh, OK. OK. worldly-looking. Apparently she was in a Texas chainsaw remake. Oh what she? I
Starting point is 00:01:05 think the third dimension one. Oh okay, okay. So that's close. Okay. It's close. Like all the like teen girl actors are really great. The guys, eh, not so much but. You think she's a teen girl? Oh no, she's not. Yeah, she's definitely not. Yeah. Imagine being able to pass for a teen girl at the age of like, she's like, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, oh, thi, thi, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi,'s not. Oh yeah, she's definitely not. Imagine being able to pass for a teen girl at the age of like, she's like two years younger than me. Yeah, she was one in 86. I look like shit. Did you're not? Oh, wow, she just had her birthday. Oh, Alexandra. Alexandra. Dadao. Yes, she is 10 years older than everybody else in this movie except for Johnny Knoxville. And doesn't look at it. No, no, that's not fair.
Starting point is 00:01:45 He plays her dad. Convincingly, he's 15 years older than she is. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. So, this movie starts up with a beef of mine, which is that it's set in 1988, which which makes sense because it's satanic panic, satanic panic. Dadanic panic. Wow. I'm I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. Dada da da da da da. Satanic panic. Wow. I'm sorry I've had three quarters of an icy light tall boy.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Say tannic. Oh shit, I got a catch up. Oh yeah. Where are you? You're just gonna let it all get warm. It's the worst when it's warm. I'm sorry. I just spent like it's from 1988. No. Clothing is modern. The girls looks like their hair, their eyebrows, their makeup is modern.
Starting point is 00:02:30 Yeah. Even the car they're driving, like it's a Jeep, which might have existed in 1988 but would look not out of place on the road today, you know? I defy you to find three metalhead women in 1988 that at least one of them doesn't have the bee catcher flipped up bangs. Yes. With all like the tons of hairspray in it. They all just look like emo girls. Yeah yeah yeah, which is not no fair, not how it's supposed to be. It's just like did these people have genuinely no idea what 1988 looked like and also no access to the internet. Everyone's clothes are so modern. It's funny because of how like like, remember House of the Devil, that Ty West movie? Like how well he nailed, or they nailed?
Starting point is 00:03:09 That aesthetic? Yeah. But they did not do that. Just no fuck's given, really. No. That's okay. It's fine. One of them has a weak bladder. I thought she was very funny.
Starting point is 00:03:22 That's Val. . the sex, the sex, the sex, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, thu, th, th, th, th, th, thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. thu. tho, tho, thu. thu. tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the.'s Val or real Val. Who's like the sexy one? She's apparently in malignant. She's the sister in malignant. Oh, how about that? Yeah. How about that? Look at her. In that movie. Um, I do love how much they enjoyed Twinkies. Yeah. I was like, oh, look it on you. You love a Twinkie and a ding-dong. So I was wondering, like, they're religious, which is sort of the twist, but it's revealed immediately. Yeah. Which is a bummer, because I feel like this movie could have really been better if they'd held off on that. Sure. Telling us that they were like religious girls because they're super into like snacks and candy. Yeah, yeah. But also it kind of felt like they were on rum springer. Like they'd gotten away from the like church people watching our room so they're gonna smoke cigarettes
Starting point is 00:04:16 and drink some and like, you know, they can hold their alcohol. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, they're they're chugging Jack Danieling. Yeah. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack. Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack. That's like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like that's like that's like that's like like. That's like. That's like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like they're like like like. I I like like. I like. I I like. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack. Yeah, Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack Jack. I's. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they're chugging Jack Daniels like it's nothing. That would knock me on the fucking floor. Seriously, I'd be dead. And then I'd be dead for three days afterwards, like Jesus Christ himself. They stop at Quicke Mart, which is where we see preacher Johnny Knoxville. Oh God. Who has the serial killer name of John Henry Butler. He's saying on the TV, your donations will incinerate these demons and send them back to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to hell to to to to to to the their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. the. the. the. the. the. the th. th. th. And. And. And. And. And. And, th. And. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. And. he's saying on the TV, your donations will incinerate these demons and send them back to hell from where they came. They're just like, okay, this is one of the scenes he's in, by the way, it's on a TV. And he's also fine in this because he's being totally over the top and silly.
Starting point is 00:04:55 And he's wearing the most enormous sport code terrible. It's straight terrible. Boy, is he all gray? I just saw him in the Royal Rumble. I just watched it the other night for the first. I missed it in January. And he is in it. And he looks like an old-ass man. Some might call him a silver fox.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I really had a thing for him when I was a kid. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thu sure. this real. this real. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. the thi. the the the the the the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He. He's is. He's is thi. He's is thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's thi. thi. thi. toee. toe. thi. toe. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. He's thi. when I was a kid. Sure. Yeah. You know his real name's not Johnny? What is it? I don't remember, but it's not. It's Mark Sinclair. I was like, it's definitely not Knoxville, but Johnny's at least got to be his first name. It's Bin Diesel. It's Bin Diesel.
Starting point is 00:05:34 It is Philip John Clapp. Oh, John's the middle name, okay. Yeah. Yeah. I guess Philly Knoxville doesn't work as well. I kind of love Philly Knoxville, just like two cities. Yeah, like Motown Philly. People really like naming their kids after cities anyway. Sure. Yeah. I mean I'm named after Allentown. Are you? No? No. I'm named after Pittsburgh. Katie's your middle name. No. I'm named after Pittsburgh. Katie's your middle name. Yeah, I'm Pittsburgh, Catherine. My last name. So while they're in the Quicky Mart, they see a newspaper that says something about satanic killings, more satanic killings happening.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Yes. And Alexis says, that's supposed to scare other people, not us. Right. What does that even mean? Because they're the ones during the Satanic killers. I know that, but like... She's saying it publicly. Yeah, that's true. Took his man in the older than dirt hat, which I loved. That was pretty dope. He's like being very kind to them too. He's like be careful out there. There's a a a a a a a the th is a th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho tho thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi tho- tho-a tho-a that thi. thiolo-a' thiolo-s that's that's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. thea. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's theaa. thea. thea. thea. kind to them too. He's like, be careful out there. There's a lot of evil in the world and you seem like nice girls. And they're just like laughing in his face. I was waiting for them to say we are the weirdos, mister.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Yeah, I like that. A van drive by and I definitely thought it to throwing at your car is scary and you don't want it and it's dirty or whatever, but like they're making such a big fucking deal out of it. Who amongst us has not gotten milkshake on their car? I was gonna say it's someone who's lived through a milkshake incident. Continues to live through the milkshake incident. when they stop to get the milkshake off that Val runs to the side of the road to pee again. It's very funny. She's very charming. All of her like exit stage left peeing is very yeah yeah yeah yeah and she comes back to the car at least it's not shit. Yeah it's true. They're like body good. Maybe it'll help your car. That are going to a show.
Starting point is 00:07:48 A heavy metal show for the band, Soldiers of Satan. Okay. Not a real band. Too bad. Look fun. I guess there was one dude who did all the music for this record or for this movie,
Starting point is 00:08:01 and he's doing a killer King Diamond impression in this part of the movie. Yeah, when that song kicked in, I was like, gosh, I'm so glad we're doing another heavy metal horror movie. Like it felt very like all of the other ones we've done. Oh man, what was that fucking one? Black Roses? Oh, never stop thinking about that. Why were they playing there for four days? In a high school gymnasium? Oh? Oh. Oh? Oh, oh, oh, thia? Oh, thia? Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, I I I I, I, I, I, I th. Oh, I was th. Oh, I was th. Oh, I'm th. Oh, I'm th. I's, I's, I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I was that, I was that, I that, I that, I that, I I that, I I I I I I th. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I, I I I I I, I I I I I I I, I, I I I, I I I, I I, I I, I, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I was th. I was thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm like, I'm tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thi thi thi thi thi they playing there for four days in a high school gymnasium? Oh my God, that guy was such a pervert. I'll never stop thinking about it.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Anyway, they're doing Yeager shots in the parking lot, which is disgusting. But also something you do when you're 20 and 36. Yes. And they meet up with the guys who threw the milkshake on their car. They recognize the van. And they confront them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them them their their their their their their tham tham tham tham tham tham thoomomthea. thoomomathea. thoomuuant tho. I tho. I tho. I tho. I tho. I they they they they they they they they they tho. I I I I I I I I I I I tho. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I tho. I I I I I I I I tho. I tho. tho. tho. tho. they they tho. the. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. thooo thoooo thoo thooooo thoan. thoan. thoan. thoooooooooo. I tho. I the. with the guys who threw the milkshake on their car. They recognize the van. And they confront them and Val throws firecrackers inside the car, which I was like, oh, that's good, comeuppance. Val is very good.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Yeah. Val is the best. And these guys also are not screaming, 1988, heavy metal fans to me either. They just gave that's it. Yeah. Kovacs looks like he should be at a like MGMT show. I was going to go with Blind Melon. Wow, okay, okay. I think you know there's a lot of crossover there of the look. Sure, for sure, a lot of unbuttoned sleeves.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Do you think the two reasonable ones will fall in love? They haven't just, who says that? I just thought that. Oh, I said that. Because they do. The two reasonable ones are like falling in love. Yeah, they have a discussion where we find out that Alexis knows nothing about heavy metal. Right. She couldn't even come up with like a one thing, one thing. And Val obviously is also faking it because she has too hyper-specific of information.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Yeah. Yeah, because they're discussing the first shows that they went to. Right. She's like, Scorpions. In 1983, August 10th, that's where I popped my cherry. Gross. Valle, you gross. I mean, Scorpions is very sexy music so I can understand that, but they will rock it like a hurricane. Oh, okay, there you go. Yeah, uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:10:09 And they're also the winds of change. I like that one better. Oh, okay. They German? Oh, yeah. Okay. No more German than this. Good. Then they go into the show. Well they laid up a hippie first. Fuck off.
Starting point is 00:10:28 No one has ever called a joint then. No. So like at this point are we supposed to believe that the men are going to murder the girls? I think so because the men have a discussion about how many people have been killed. Right. 18. That's our guy Mark. Reasonable Mark. Reasonable Mark. Yeah, and then they want to keep partying after the concert.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Why? So they go to Alexis's family's home, which is like a manner or estate. Why does that driveway end on the lawn? I don't know. I don't know. For the pool guy maybe? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. For the pool guy maybe? I don't know. I guess. So these guys are all, you know, we're gonna get boned. Get boned? Do some boning. Get boned, give bone, whatever you got to do. Whatever it is. Whatever you kids say these days. Whatever it takes. Why do you feel about the statement? You know who I think is hot? Judd Nelson. Like, is that also an indication that she's like a sheltered kind of Christian kid? I think so, and the fact that Alexis had no idea who he was.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Yeah, right. Yeah. That's gross. Would not fuck Jud Nelson at any point in his career. Actually, maybe in Airheads when he does that, we're making records and he's like the greasy guy, you know? Not in a breakfast club? No, fuck that guy.
Starting point is 00:12:00 He's been in high school for 32 years. I'm not interested. So have the rest of his classmates except for Anthony Michael Hall. Yeah. Amelia was a straight up old man. Oh, get wait until this is done. I've got to go to an AARP meeting. I'm out of Centrum Silver.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Do you think that I loved when they got around the fire and spent a long time talk about how great Cliff Burton is? I thought immediately is Alan writing right now about his t-shirt that said it should have been Lars. The meanest t-shirt I own. Yeah, it's pretty good. And I own a t-shirt that says, fuck Ronald Reagan. Yeah, that's meaner. It should have been Lars. That's mean.
Starting point is 00:12:45 It should have been them rather than their friend that died. Yeah, that's fucked up. On a positive note, I want those round plastic chairs so bad. Where can I get a chair like that? I don't know, but I'm sure I would flip out of it if I tried to sit in it. Yeah, looks cool though. How tall do you think that Ivan dude is? He was a giant. Six five, six four.
Starting point is 00:13:10 How tall are you? Six two? He's six two. Is that what I look like, oh shit? I'm a huge dude. The other two male actors are small men for sure. Like they are very slight and short. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:27 That one poor Hungarian boy who doesn't even get a first name. Oh, thanks. I was like, was there a Hungarian child that I missed? So Alexis goes inside, finds Beverly? So Alexis goes inside, finds Beverly. Searching the knife drawer. Beverly. And Alexis gives her a pep talk about, we've got to do this, we've all agreed to do this.
Starting point is 00:13:53 There seems to be a lot of trepidation around Beverly backing out or not having the guts to do it. So at this point it's really kind of telegraphing that they're the killers. Even though I think that it's meant it's meant th th th th is meant thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, the thi, the, the, the the, the their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they, they, they, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, toge, is, thi, is a thi, the killers, even though I think that it's meant to be like Beverly, it's like won't do it, like have a one-night stand with a Molokai. Right, right, right, right, right. Everything's still sort of vague at this point. But not so much that you don't know what's going to happen. Right. Yeah. Especially being the second time we've seen the suit. True, but I recall not being shocked the first time. For sure.
Starting point is 00:14:26 I think the trailer also gives all of this away. Oh, does it? Yeah. The little write-up on Netflix is like three concert goers meet up with three savages and after a show and you know what I mean? It's intentionally. Oh, nice, kind of sucks. Although the entire movie is them being the bad guys, so it's hard to like.
Starting point is 00:14:46 For sure, suddenly they're gonna come around to being the good guys. Yeah. Although I guess that's kind of hostile. That movie host, did you ever see hostile? I did, but I don't really recall much other than like an Ach Europe trying to like have one night stands with people and they get lured into a situation where they get murdered. Okay. So you have to sympathize with the shitty dudes. Well like these dudes aren't shitty. They're just trying to get drunk and have sex, which isn't a shitty thing to do. They
Starting point is 00:15:15 seem very interested in consensual sex anyway. For sure. Yeah, I mean it could have broke much better than it did. Yeah for sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I I th. I th. I the th. I th. I th. I they th. I they they they th. I th. I th. I th. Yeah. Yeah. I they they th. I they they th. I they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi. Oh, excuse me. They play Never Have I Ever, after Alexis gives drinks to the boys. And we find out that Beverly has been arrested for stealing food. Yeah. She was a little runaway. Yeah. The scene is interminable. Yeah. It goes back to Valpeying herself. Yeah. And Ivan getting arrested. And what's her, and Alexis throwing up in church? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Or spewing, I think somebody might have said. And then Ivid just won't let it go that she threw up in church and then seems weirded out that she's disinterested in him. And I'm like, are you not familiar with with without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without without the to the to the to the the the threw up in church and then seems weirded out that she's disinterested in him and I'm like, are you not familiar with how to talk to peep? Never mind. And then Mark goes and lays down. Yeah, and the next never have I ever is, never have I ever drugged someone's drink. Yeah, which the three girls drink. Yep. Because they did. And then these dudes wake up in their underpants. Yeah. Tied to chairs. Which one of them carried Ivan? Oh wow. Because somebody drags Mark away and I'm like, cool cool, cool. Can we see the scene where all three of you were trying to have Ivan up to the hell? Just like tying him to the back of a car and dragging him there. He's a mountain of a man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:45 They really painted We Summon the Darkness on the Wall, which is very funny. It's right all up there with saying the name of the movie. Yeah. I know who killed me. I can't wait for Lindsay Lohan's two films on Netflix. I'm like that you're convinced they're going to be sequels, I know who killed me. I still know who killed me, I know who killed you. They're just going to be movies about clubbing in Mayorka. You don't want that.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Also, did you see that thing that everyone's been saying her name wrong all the time? It's not Lohan, it's Loan. Oh, that she says Loan. Well, I'm pissed. I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they's they're they're thi. I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, it's Lohan. Oh, that she says Lohan. Okay. Well, I'm pissed. I'm never gonna stop going to Lindsay Lohan. Lindsay Lohan. Yeah, it's Lindsay Lohan. I love her work. Here's a good typo. We Summ in the Darkness written on the wall with Pantograms. I think you're thinking of Pangrams from the New York Times spelling beam. Pantagram. Or it's like someone gives you a pair of pants as a gift when they deliver it.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Someone delivers it and sings to you. Here's your pants, I brought your pants. Pantagram. I am the singing pentagram. This is the whole exposition of the movie. Oh, when they wake up. I just wish they'd let them either be Satanists or be Satanists for a while. You know, I just think, because it's, they're just like, and by the way, we're not even Satanists, we're doing it for Jesus.
Starting point is 00:18:18 Like, they come out with that information for no reason. Yeah, I just wish that had been like handled a bit better. Yeah, I mean that's delivered in note 62 of 131 notes. Right, I feel like M. Night Shomalon was watching this movie just being like, you don't put the twist at the beginning of the second act? Yeah, and why am I not in this? Yeah. He's like, now which one of these guys is the director? I should have driven them there. What's going on? He's in the band. He's in Soldiers of Satan. I did like how Alexis does the reveal by just taking off her fake eyelashes.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Yeah, the fake eyelashes are not satanic. Everyone wears them. This whole thing has just been fake though, just like these eyelashes. She does a great crazy face. When she gets her eyes really wide and just looks menacing, I love her. Yeah, she's great. I think she is almost literally carrying this movie on her back. Like her and Val are like doing a lot of the heavy work in this movie. Yeah, Beverly's a bit of a nothing, huh? Yeah, she's fine. She's fine.
Starting point is 00:19:22 She's not as exuberant as they are. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So. So. So. So. So. So. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. She. She. She. She. She. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's th. th. th. th. thee. the the the the the the the the the the the the thiiii. the. the. th fine. She's not as exuberant as they are. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she's arguing with Ivan, who's just like, your people are judgmental, worthless, closed-minded, blah, blah, blah, the things that you say about religious people. Or the other people say about religious people. I don't say theathe Not when they're wielding a knife. No. And she just stabs him in the neck. Yeah, she's yelling shut up, shut up, shut up, and then stabs him in the neck. It's great.
Starting point is 00:19:49 And I told you to shut up. The wound looks good. Yeah, it does. It is. And Val is doing this like very good crazy face too where she's like sort of shocked but also psyched. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Like, like she she she she she she she she she th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like she th. Like, like she th. Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the th. Like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. the., they talk about how they're going to kill them. Yeah. They keep saying Jesus fucking Christ and God damn it all over the place, which is a little bit wild. And Beverly stops them from killing the other two dudes and was like, no, I want to do it. And Alexis is like, this is going to be a classic murder suicide. You're going to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to go to go to go to go to go to have to go to go to go to go to go to to go to go to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to their their their their their their their their their their their the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their the the thooooooooooo. the the thoooooo. the thoooooo. their their their their was like no I want to do it. And Alexis is like this is going to be a classic murder suicide. You're going to have to go around the back of Mark and stab him in the heart so it looks like he did it. Yeah. Does she do that? No. No she doesn't. No. Because the dudes escape. Right. They're just like locked in the bathroom for God knows how long. And then they they hear they hear they hear the sound the sound the sound the sound the sound the sound the sound the sound the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. I is is is. I is. I is. I is. I is. I is. I is. I's is. I's is. I's is. I's is. I's is. I's is too. I's is too. I's. I too. te. to. to. to. to. to. to. their. I their. their. the then they hear the sound of like the chairs clattering.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Yeah. It sounds to me like they were able to untie themselves by rubbing the rope against spikes on a belt. Oh, really? That's what, because Mark says to Kovacs, see my belt over there, can you reach it? See if you can cut through the, I see. Stutted belted belt, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's belt, it's belt, it's belt, it's belt, it's belt, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. It's, it's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, th. I th. It's, th. It's, th. It's the, the, the. theats. theats. It's tiea. It's theats. It's theats. It's theats. It's theats. It's the. It's the. It's like, studded belt. It's not going to work. I have messed up a lot of wood chairs with studded belts. Yeah, that's fair. Hoods of cars. I had a friend who slid down the hood of my car with a studded belt on and just fucked
Starting point is 00:21:14 the pain on the hood. Son of a bitch. Yeah. Being punk is hard on everybody else. It's hard on everyone. You and everyone who knows you. Oh well. So they lock themselves in a laundry room, or a pantry, no a pantry, you're right. And Val throws herself into the door, which is just very funny.
Starting point is 00:21:35 She's like, hold on, I got this. But not before Kovacs gets slashed in the arm by one of them. Yes. So Mark like puts a turniket on it and is like you're going into to shock in to shock in to shock in to shock to shock to shock to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to their their to their to their their their to to their like puts a tourniquet on it and is like you're going into shock you need sugar. Yeah. Just sugar keep you from going into shock. Oh. How did you know that? First time I got tattooed. Your blood sugar drops. Why? Don't be a pussy blood sugar. That's the icy light talking. And I had a mountain dew with me that I drank to make me not pass out.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Really? I don't think I've ever felt like passing out when getting a tattoo. But I'm also just like super brave and so strong. So tough. Oh God. Yeah. I mean I love getting tattooed. I love the pain.
Starting point is 00:22:23 No, that's totally the opposite. I was like, stop touching my armpit! Leave my elbow alone. I read Andrew who did a lot of my tattoos, when he did the spider on my arm, he put it through my elbow pit. And he was like, he lays it on my arm and he goes, that's for you. Oh God. Hurts like fucking hell. Mine stops just about like half an inch above that elbow pit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:49 And it hurts so bad. It hurt so bad. So thank you, Andrew. Andrew, great work. So yeah, they lock themselves in like the pantry. And he does a turniket with a cord from a fan and I was like that's not a good tourniquet. Did you need to be able to like twist it up tight? I don't think you could get that tight. It's fine. There's like
Starting point is 00:23:15 rags all over the place and I was like, Mark. Mark, well he needs those rags because he's got to shove them under the door when when they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they th. th. th. th at th at th at that. that is the, the, the, the, thi, thi, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th is th is th is th is th is thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, and thi, the, and the, and the, and the, and theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat, that, that, thi, th start spring, bug spring, which is dope. I liked how much the girls are having fun with this. They are, they, the girls' interactions are so much fun. Yeah, because it really does feel like you being drunk with your girlfriends and just like coming up with a dumb plan. But that plan happens to be murder. It just happens to be religiously motivated murder. And then Alexis' a stepmother shows up. This very cokey woman. Who like outmans Alexis just like wrestles her down. Yeah. Your stepmom's totally got a Coke bougar. Yeah. Step mom is very funny.
Starting point is 00:24:00 She's very funny. She almost feels like she came in off of a different movie. Because she's actually dressed like a woman from the 1980s. She has like the like huge shoulder pads and just like the hair. She looks like Kim Ketral from Manigan. Oh, nice. Good cool. Thank you. She runs upstairs to get her passport and her cocaine. And her cocaine because she's going to Turks and Cagos? Did you say that? Probably I think so. That's why we put Turks and Gagos in my brain. I was like, I kind of want to save with Coke and my passport.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I don't ever want to do Coke, but I just kind of like the idea of having it around. It just feels kind of cool. Yeah, yeah. You're like, when does Coke expire? I don't know, this doesn't have a date on it. So Beverly has been told to go out to the shed to find something to break the laundry or the pantry door down there. Yeah. And she finds a bunch of stuff. And you're like, and what are we box that's full of money. Yeah. And that's how she figures out that Johnny Knoxville has been taking all the money that's being sent to him for prayers.
Starting point is 00:25:10 Right. And stealing it. But we don't exactly know that until she says it later. Sure. Sure. But that's what causes her to lose faith in this whole operation. But also just all these pictures of houses. Right, right. Because he's buying houses with all th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the money the money the money th. the money th. the money the money the money th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. theee. theeeeeee. theeeee. theee. theeeee. the. the. the. the. the. th pictures of houses. Right, right, because he's buying houses with all the money that he's stealing. Yeah, I know. Okay. All right. It's just like the way it's presented is that it's supposed, it means something to Beverly so it should mean something to us. Sure.
Starting point is 00:25:35 It just really doesn't. Yeah, she's sort of our POV character a dossier of the satanic killings. Right, right. A dossier. It's so funny. It seems like you'd hide that better, like maybe in your safe with your cocaine and passports. I'm so glad that these girls did not get cocaine for what they're doing. Yeah. It would be insufferable. I love that um, when Alexis gets the gun. Where did she get the gun? Who? From the pop? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? The cop? Yeah? Yeah? The cop? Right? The cop? Right? Right? Right? The cop? Right? Right? The cop? Right? Right? Right? Right? The cop? Right? Right? Right, right? Right, right? Right? Right, right? Right, right? Right, right? Right, right? Right, right? Right? Right? Right? the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th? th? th. tho-C. tho-C. tosie-s? tosie-s. tosie-s. tho-s. thi-s. thi-s? thi- love that when Alexis gets the gun, where did she get the gun? From the cop? A cop shows up, oh my gosh, right, so the stepmother calls a cop. Sorry, I have a big break in my notes here.
Starting point is 00:26:12 I think I was doing something else. You didn't have some ice cream or something. I was having a little snack to room. So yeah, the step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step step the the the the the the the to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. I the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th that that tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap to to to tho to tho the their their the cops because she saw the van parked out back and assumed someone was robbing the place. She still came in to get her passport. She still walked right the fuck in to get her passport and her cooking. So yes, the cop shows up as Alexis is doing the lighter with hairspray flame thrower under the door to try and burn the guys out. So she goes outside to the cop at a very funny scene of her being like, oh yeah, we called you, you know, it was my step-on. She's very tire, she's inside sleeping now,
Starting point is 00:26:49 oh I can't wake her up. She's like, oh my god, I'm totally forgot. She's very cute. Yeah, yeah. Do you have any idea that proves that you live here? Yes. I can't get it for you though. I know th. Like th. Like th. Like their th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. Like th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Do th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the th. the th. the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to. the. the. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. it for you though. I know my rights. And then she just takes off her runs in the house. I love that. Just turns. I love like the idea of being faced with a situation where you just don't know what to say and you just turn and run away. I think that's so good. So the cop follows her, finds the murder scene. He like hardly has a chance because she... Well, he cuffs, he starts, he starts, he starts, he starts, he starts, he starts, he starts, he starts, he starts, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's thi. that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. the thi. thia. thia. thia thia. thia. thia. thia. thi has a chance because she... Well he cuffs he starts cuffing Mark. Right, why does he believe that Mark is the bad guy? Because he's the guy and these are two women that couldn't have possibly done
Starting point is 00:27:32 anything wrong. Oh I guess. And then he and Val takes his gun and shoots him and kills him. Right and then she has the gun. Yeah and she starts firing bullets wildly. And they just leave the dead cop there. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Oh, and they've also killed the stepmother at this point. She's also dead. I forget how.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Does she get stabbed in the gut? Yes, she stabbed her in the gut. The woman dies immediately from the gut. It was like, how that works. Yeah. And Alexis, what they's they's they's they's they's they's they's. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, and they. Oh, and they. Oh, and they'. And, and they'. And, and they'. Oh, and they'. Oh, and they'. Oh, and they'. Oh, and they' oh because she's like, stick to the plan. It's like, what do you think? And she killed stepmom because stepmom found Ivan's body. Right, right. And then Beverly comes in with the engine of a motorboat? Is that what that was?
Starting point is 00:28:16 I thought it was like maybe a tiller for the dirt. No, it was a motorboat engine. I wouldn't know that. Very unwieldy weapon. Yeah, I mean, when Val has to pick it up later, she can barely do it. It's very funny. And there's a bunch of fighting that happens around this? Well, there's so, Alexis has the gun. And she is like firing under the door or through the door or something. And she recites like, the to the door. to say, thrower. She resites some verse from Isaiah and vowel goes, oh, chapter and fucking verse and then slaps her ass so hard.
Starting point is 00:28:53 I thought it was so funny. Yeah. Thought it was so good. Well, that's the other thing. They don't have 80s white girl butts. No, they have big old butts. Yeah, they have definitely 2019 butts. Yeah. They're also like fighting over that gun where like in a very funny drunk girl way where you might fight over like a cell phone or something where you're like pushing one down, you know, pushing your friend down to the floor and she's like, I know
Starting point is 00:29:18 how to use a gun, Alexis. I figure it's the way you would try to get a cigarette from somebody and definitely break that same-sid cigarette. Yeah, and they'd be mad at them for breaking it. Why don't you just give it to me? Now no one has it. Yeah. So Beverly has turned. Yeah, she's a good guy now. She's good Beverly. Which is like, like Mark is so quick to be like, no, she's with us, but it's like, she fucking drunk your drink. Yeah, and killed your friend. Yeah, it's not great. She was party to the murder. Yeah. She's cute though, so Mark's on board.
Starting point is 00:29:51 She is cute. I guess they're gonna go out to LA later. I guess. I guess. So Covax and Mark bust out. And they've got... Cobax is in real bad shape too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and they've got broken wine bottles that you're using as weapons. Right. And Covac stabs Beverly in the back. And then he gets outside.
Starting point is 00:30:15 So she's like, no, I'm on your side. And then she like tucs him into a corner because the lights have to like investigate that. Oh because there was the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they's they's they's they's they's they have they have th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thus. thus. thus. they've like, that's like, that's like, that's like, that's like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. th. Cov. th. Cov. C. C. Cove. Cove. Cove. Cove, th. Cove, th. Cove. th. Cove. th. th. Cove. Cove. And they need to like investigate that. Oh, because there was really loud Belinda Carlisle. Oh, right, playing Heaven is a place on Earth. Such a fucking banger. I have karaoke that song, which is very difficult to do and I don't have the range for it. But if you jump up and down, I don't up and down, yeah. I mean, she was part of the Go Go's. The Go Go's.
Starting point is 00:30:46 She wasn't part of the Sit-Sits. Yeah. Oh, I'd love to be in a band called The Sit-Sits. Just do like super slow covers of Go-Go's songs. When the world's alive with the sound of kids on the street outside. For you those you listening at home, Katie has not been slowed down. She's actually doing that.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Oh, no, that's my real voice. I'm super talented. So, go, please. No, no, no. No, I've been talking a lot. Mark goes upstairs to find the keys to the van, or the keys to any car so they can leave. Right, Alexis says just left them on the dresser.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Right, but she snatched them all up and then took them upstairs and put them on a dresser. Yeah. And, theyverly's thoes they's they's their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is left is just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just. to is. to is. to is. toes. toes. the the. the the. the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. the the. their. their. their. their. their. the their. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the turn the lights back on. Because they should definitely split up all three of them. Yes. And Kovacs sees lights pull up in the front yard so he goes out to investigate. And he has the gun at this point because Beverly has left him with the gun. Right. And it's Johnny Knoxville has shown up. We're in that big old blazer. So big. It's so funny. Pretty on point for what something like Pat Robertson would have worn at that point in time. Absolutely. So he like cons Kovacs and giving him the gun and then shoots him. Yeah, he's like, it's sort of, you know what's going to happen. You know exactly what's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:32:13 But it is a bit of a like a tense scene where he's like, son, you just got then just immediately shoots him. What I loved about the scene is that it's mostly shot not with Johnny Knoxville's face in it. Yeah, just his voice. He is really barely in this movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was thinking like...
Starting point is 00:32:36 Oh, no, I guess he's one more scene. Yeah. He, like, we've talked in the past about like how far a pretty face will get you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the he the this is this is this is this is this is he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's this this this this this this this this this this this this this this he. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he's he's he's he's he's he's he's ed in the past about like how far a pretty face will get you. Yeah. And I was like, this is it. This is that far. This is that far. I mean to be in, you know, movies in the Royal Rumble, it's pretty much a true-come true. I mean, he's still doing it, like he's got a lot of income streams. Yeah, sure. He is the jackass dude and everybody else is below him. Yeah. When he came out at the Royal Rumble, he had Preston Lacey and Weman with him.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Oh nice. It's so nice to see you guys, because I haven't seen the new movie yet. And I love We Man. I love seeing We Man interviewed. He just seems like a genuinely stoked dude. Yeah, he just seems happy to be part. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that latest Jackass movie if you're into that stuff. It's fun. It's on streaming on Paramount Plus now. Well, it must be streaming I saw.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Ruined my Saturday. I don't know if we've talked about that on the podcast or just to each other. Well, it's mostly just that Rob assumed that the Jackass must be streaming if Alan saw it because he didn't think think think think think think think think think think th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to Rob assumed that the jackass movie must be streaming if Alan saw it because he didn't think Alan will go to a movie theater. Because he hasn't been to a movie theater. Neither have I. I've been twice. Yeah. Two-time movie boy. Two-time movie boy. I'm gonna get you a trophy that says that. Back-to-back movie boys. Did you see that someone I think it was on Reddit. I should make shirts and say six foot two vegetarian wear wailf ambulance? Which is how I described myself at one point. That's how you're described on our Wikipedia too I think. That's right six foot two vegetarian. Well if you love Justin Gray and he
Starting point is 00:34:18 loves you. I'm sure something will happen. Yeah Johnny Aswell shoots Koveacs and then he goes in the house and then... He's so mad. So mad. But his way of dealing with being angry, I really appreciated because he gets a beer and a cookie? And I was like, I'm with you. You gotta calm down sometimes, just have a beer and a cookie. I also like when he shot the kid he goes, I am the wrath of God. Now, imaginethat that could have been delivered with Gravitos. Yeah, no, it's so funny because it's Johnny Knoxville.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Like, you can't take a word he says seriously. No, you're not, you stay with your dick to your leg. Get out of here. I watched you get hit with those one of those nonlethal bullets right above your dick. I watched you shoot yourself in the chest with a handgun, you fucking idiot. Really? That's how he got famous. He, he, he put on a bulletproof vest and no one would shoot him? He wanted somebody else to shoot him. Yeah. So he took a handgun and shot himself.
Starting point is 00:35:13 Fuck. Yeah. Did you see that YouTube couple where the boyfriend was just holding like a encyclopedia or something in front of him and the girlfriend shot him through it and he fucking died. Yeah, because that's the way bullets work. Yeah, they don't really get stopped by paper. Yeah, yeah, it's not a movie. Yeah. What? Yeah, so she's got like some jail time I think. Oh, that's a shame. He wanted her to do it. I think it's I mean, I think it's just, I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It's just it's just it's just it's just it's just it's just it's just, it's just, it's just, i's just, i's just, i's just, i's just, i. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. th. th. th. th. thro. threat. th threat. th threat. th threat. th threat. th th threat. th th th threat. th th th their. He wanted her to do it. I think it's, I mean, I think it's just like, if you're driving a car drunk and you hit somebody, you can go to jail, you know? She's doing a crime. She's criming.
Starting point is 00:35:51 I know I was joking. She should, yes, yes. She should crime in jail. Yeah, mm-hmm. Yeah, mm-hmm. Yeah. That's what I just thought of. Please, people at home, don't shoot yourself with a fucking handgun. No, don't shoot anyone with a fucking handgun. Well, unless you're the wrath of God. Unless you're the wrath of God, in which case, see, this is more bad advice. Yeah. I do like what Johnny Knoxville tells Kovacs to, that he's got a cellular phone. Cellular phone in my car.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Man, I'm glad it's just cell phone, because that word is fucking hard. You told me to stop saying cell phone. Did I? Yes, you said it's just phone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I'm glad I got shurtoned to cell phone. You told me. You did that I said, I said, I that. that you that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that you that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that you that you that you that that. that. that that that that to told. told. that that that that that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. to to to to to to to to to told. to to told. to too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to. too. toe. toe. too. toe. toe. toe. to. to. to. that you told me. You did. I said, do people say cell phone anymore? And you said, no!
Starting point is 00:36:47 My voice is never gone that hot. Try it. Nothing. Something like your dog start barking. Cellular and burial are words. Burial. Burial. Look at the word spelled.
Starting point is 00:37:06 Burial, burial. Cellular, cellular. Cellular. Burial. Burial. Burial. Man, I had a long conversation about Bull and Bull over dinner on Saturday with some some friends from Pittsburgh and Bull and Bull.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Spill one of them for me. B-W-L. And the other one? B-U-L-L. Bull and bowl. That's what they said too. Like I literally don't see the difference. Okay. Bull. You eat a bull cereal while you're fighting a bull. Okay.ville got knocked unconscious when he was fighting a bowl. A bull. A bull. What did you say the first time? Bull? Bull. See? It's fine. I love it. I love your word blindness. It's not me. It's a whole region of people. Did the other Pittsburghites agree with you that they could not hear any of them? Yeah, oh yeah, it was basically, at that point it was just me and Perry and we're both just looking at each other going bull, bull, bull, bull. Perry has the most delightful Pittsburgh accent.
Starting point is 00:38:17 Please listen to the silence of the lamps. I feel like Perry's accent is referenced more than Perry. Yeah, it's true. We gotta get Perry back on here. We do. Yeah. We should probably return to guests at some point. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:32 Just occasional guess. Sure. No, yeah, not all we were. We did that every five episodes? How the fuck did we have the time to schedule that? We didn't, that's why we stopped doing it. Oh yeah, plus we ran out of friends. Friends who were willing to do it anyway. People would ask to be guests and we'd be like, I don't know you.
Starting point is 00:38:51 We still get weekly, hey, would you like to have this person from this movie on? Really? I didn't know that. Anybody cool? If it's not Nicholas Cage, I'm not doing it. Do you see the pictures of Nicholas Cage's Dracula? No, I'm Googling. Sorry, I just screamed into the mic for the millionth time, Niculous Cage, Dracula. He's, Oh, how exciting is that? I mean, it's gonna look great on film.
Starting point is 00:39:19 It looks so fucking funny in a photo. He looks like, uh, Beetjuice in the wedding scene. Yep. Wow. No, it is gonna look really good on film. It'll be great. And he'll be fucking hamming it up like nobody's business. Although, can I just say something?
Starting point is 00:39:35 With his eyebrows drawn on like that? Is he giving you a jauntravolta vibe? Oh yeah, for sure. Face off. Wild. It's all so wild, wild, wild, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thu. thu. thu. th. th. th. th, th. th, th. th, th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. thiiiiiiii. thi. thi. thi. thi What's going on in this movie, Katie? I don't know. So the power comes back on, Beverly gets the power back on. Is that before or after she sets Valerie's hair on fire because it's so full of hair spray, which is like a ha ha ha-80s joke? Oh, I think it's before. She sets, yes, she sets Valerie, and then Valerie runs off. And I don't think we see Valerie again? Never again.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Stop, drop and roll. Yeah. And then she gets the power back on and then Belinda Carlo is playing loudly. Right. And Dad walks in the bedroom and turns it off and confronts Alexis. Right, because he had chosen her for this mission and we've previously learned that all the other satanic killings in other
Starting point is 00:40:25 areas were done by members of their congregation. Right. And he had chosen her to do this, I think he either knew she was going to fail or knew she was going to die. Like, yeah. Because they needed to get the heat taken off them. Right. Yeah. He's like, they already suspect us and it's like, how? Like, with what ad- I would just like to, I wish there had been a, like a detective in this movie, like, what's his, uh, Idris Elba in prom night? He's just kind of giving me the like police side of it. Or maybe the guys from Strangeland. Yes, the guys from Strangeland. Officer Christian.
Starting point is 00:41:06 Christian. Why does that occupy space in my brain? Sucks. Welcome to my world, Katie. Ask me if Lucy's social security numbers. I have no fucking idea. Ask me if Lucy seen Strangland? Oh my god, no. That's not even funny. I saw that movie when I was like 14 it was too much. Yeah, yeah, I saw that
Starting point is 00:41:34 when I was, what, 45? It was too much? Was it the first time you'd seen it when you did? Oh, thank God. Oh, thank God. Um. So, oh, yeah. Because Mark, Mark and Alexis have a fight? Jolly Nogne. No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No. Oh? No? That. Oh? No? That. Oh? That. Oh? No. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh? That. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? That. Oh? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No? No. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. Oh, the. I. It. It's. I. It's. It's. I. It's. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh? and Alexis have a fight and then Johnny Knoxville comes in and shoots Mark and then turns off the blend of Carlyle. Right. And Kovacs has crawled back inside and how is he not dead? Tells Beverly, save Mark. His last words. Save Mark. He's always loved Mark.
Starting point is 00:42:03 Well, Mark's leaving him to go to LA and be a rock star. Why doesn't he just take Kovacx?? th th th to to to tox tox C C C Covaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxax too- too- too- too- too- too- too- too-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-m-o-m-mix and to-m-m-m-m-m. to- Mark, Mark, Mark and to to to to to to to to come, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark, Mark and to come to come to come too-u. too-a. too-a, Mark and too-a, Mark and too-a, Mark and too-a, Mark and too-a, Marks, Marks, Marks, Marks, to-a, Mark, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-a, to-ato LA and be a rock star is what we're told. Why doesn't he just take Kovacs with him? Would you? It's a bit much. He's less if someone's dying words are going to be save Katie I'll at least travel with them you know that's a big deal. You're trying to make friends with all the cool guys in LA? It's you you true. You true. You true. It's true. You true. gonna, he's gonna kill Alexis at this point. He starts choking her out. Yeah, basically he's telling her that she's gonna be a martyr for the cause. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:33 And then, that sucks. Uh, Beverly. I'm sorry, this is his big emotional scene. Yes, it's not good. But then Beverly runs in and stops him? Yeah. She attack him with the boat motor again? Um, I don't know what happens because I remember thinking, well that probably didn't kill him. I think she just hits him with the bud end of it. Okay. But that apparently kills. No, it doesn't because he's on the news later. He's on the news later. Yeah. Then Alexis's like, yeah, we can get out here. We can do this thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I don't the. I don't th. I don't the. I don't th. I don't th. I donthis together. Yeah. It was, I was brainwashed. I'm a victim. Which like, she kind of was.
Starting point is 00:43:08 Sure, for sure. And then she gets pushed out of a window. Mark pushes her out of window? Her and Beverly are struggling, and Alexis. Okay. I've been consuming a lot of cult media lately, so I really did feel bad for a sure for poor for Alexis. Oh you're not joining one. No my god no what I can't even join like a Facebook group. The big join her. And then Mark and Bev go outside get in the car they're gonna
Starting point is 00:43:35 drive away. Lexus standing in the driveway like you knew she was going to be well I thought it was gonna be Johnny Knoxville. Oh okay. Yeah. And they mower down. She looks crazy. I love her face. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the th. the the the th. th. the th. the th. the their th. their their. their. their. they. they. they. they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the the the the the th. they. the th. Yeah. And they mower down. She looks crazy. I love her face so much. I would watch her just make facial expressions all day. I think it's just those like stark blue eyes that she has. Really, yeah. Really, really sells it. It sells it.
Starting point is 00:43:56 told you're that I do. Yeah, you guys kind of do. Yeah, wild looking. Wild looking. You know, not as wild as people with like dark brown eyes though where it just looks like their whole eyes black. Sure. And you're like, wow. That's a, that's a... What's up the devil? Actually, maybe everyone's scary. Now that Iicke Mart. And he's blaming his daughter for all of this.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Yeah, I couldn't, was he saying that his daughter had committed all of the murders? I think so, yeah. Which is kind of crazy because she was alibied for some of these 18 murders, you know? Like she couldn't have been in Tallahassee the night before. As a 36-year-old 20-something-something, she, she, she, she, she, she, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th-s, th-s, th, th, th-s, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, was th, was th, th, was th, th, th, th, th, th, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s, th-s th-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s, thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom. was tho'-old 20-something. She's wild. She is wild. She was led astray. And Beverly buys supplies to help Mark with this gunshot wound. At the same convenience store. And Mark's like, where are we? And she's like, fuck to find out.
Starting point is 00:44:54 Madam, you've been here before. And Alexis's blood is all over the front of their jeep. Okay, so when the jeep is the jeep is the jeep is the jeep, the jee, the jee, the jee, the jee, the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi, thi, thi, thi, too, too, too, too, too, th. th. tho, tho, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, too, th. Okay, so when the Jeep is pulling away, yeah. They zoom in on the undercarriage. Is that supposed to be her face? Is she supposed to be under there? I think just there's like blood and guts from her under there. I thought it was her face. Oh, I don't, I didn't think so. I didn't think so. She then she's not dead. She's just missing. So how is Johnny Knoxville blaming this on her? Well in the in the report he says he says she's missing. Oh okay then it is, maybe it is.
Starting point is 00:45:28 She's under I think she's under the car. Oh so is there going to be a we still summon the darkness? I hope. I mean we didn't see Valdai either right right and right. And we get a little bit of a heart and soul at the end of the movie from tapow. A little bit of hot and soul as they're driving away. Yeah. Because they're like in love now, I guess. And that is we summon the darkness. What do you think about this movie? I kind of liked it this time. I did too. I watched it a Ladies Nightmare. We watched it on one of those like during COVID, one of those like watch a movie together things. So we could all chat with each other. And I remember being like very critical of this film.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Yeah, in our conversation. And then watching it now, I'm like, this is fine. Yeah, I think going into it and knowing what was bad about it. What do you think was bad about it? I hate fake heavy metal band names. They never sound right. Soldiers of Satan? That sounds terrible.
Starting point is 00:46:32 What would you have named that for a movie? I don't know, like Crypt Lord or something? Crypt Lord. All right, fair. Johnny Knoxville's acting is terrible, so I was ready for that. Very good, yeah. And, yeah, it's just a silly movie with people doing fun, time acting. And yeah, it was fun. Good. I think also seeing it when we're kind of the world starting to come out of a pandemic rather
Starting point is 00:47:02 than during a pandemic is a different vibe. Just seeing people at a show, I remember being like, will I ever go to a show again? And maybe I'm like, maybe not. I'm gonna see built a spill. Oh, look at you. Yeah, I'm very excited. I've never seen them.
Starting point is 00:47:17 It's one of my favorite bands. Oh, really? Oh, nice. That's nice. Starting point is 00:48:26 But what if we just did it now and didn't have to worry about it later? Yeah, good move, Paul. Let's do this. Yeah, yeah, seven. Seven is a totally solid score. I cannot believe we're giving this movie. Really enjoyable. If you haven't watched it, it's very fun. Yeah. Yeah. Just go in there with the idea of having fun not being critical and it'll be fine. Yeah. I want to take a minute to thank everybody who reached out and people have been extremely kind. When we missed an episode last week, because I was doing things like Big Bear.
Starting point is 00:49:00 So you know what, guys, sometimes Big Bear's got gotta do things. Gotta do things. I feel terrible every time I do something that makes us miss an episode. Stop! This is free! I'm not gonna! So thank you all for sticking around. We're letting down advertisers. We're letting down the EMTs. We're let, the only people who are really being let down are the Patrions because they're the only ones who didn't get a new episode episode. the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. they're the only ones who didn't get a new episode. Starting point is 00:49:30 But I just want to thank you all for being so kind. Guys are so nice. And Alan promises to never miss another episode. We'll never take a holiday break again, I promise. Katie. What movie are we doing next? I'd tell you if I knew. I think we're doing a listener suggestion next. Oh yeah. Of the film Intruder from 1989. Is this the one that takes place in a grocery store?
Starting point is 00:49:59 It is the one that takes place in a grocery store with the Ramey brothers and a bunch of other folks like Bruce Campbell in it. That sounds really fun. It should be nice. I hope it is or else we will blame that listener. Whose name we can't remember at this moment, which is probably good for you in case this movie sucks. Yeah. And I can almost guarantee that both of us will just going to roll around in there and start sending some messages to people. Just like in the middle of the night, like, hey. You like shoes?
Starting point is 00:50:28 You like shoes? You like shoes? I have the smelliest feed, I mean truly. So you put to yo-durne on at night and in the morning? Or just me? Double up? Yeah, I'm stanky.
