Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 374- Scream [5?] (2022)

Episode Date: April 11, 2022

First of all, apologies because I genuinely can't figure out if the number 5 is included in the film's title. Also, "5cream" or nothing, c'mon guys. Anyway! That's the movie we're talking about, and s...pecial topics for your consideration include: having actual feelings about celeb's marriages, a lil bit of Hollywood nepotism, drawing a strong parallel between this film and the other fine film "No Holds Barred," very strong opinions on pizza, and just a modest proposal to all those who make horror movies.  We've now watched nearly every film in this franchise, and we actually watched the first one first! The original is Episode 44, then we've got "Scre4m" in Episode 228 and "Scr3am" in Episode 278. And just for fun, please enjoy our other works of David Arquette: Episode 93- "Ravenous" and Episode 241- "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." Do you want to see a truly exceptional indie wrestling event? Last night was the "Renegade" show put on by our friends at Enjoy Wrestling (www.enjoy-wrestling.com.) I personally missed it live and am sad because it looked like a killer time, but am absolutely going to watch it weekly on the their YouTube channel (in the linktree above) between April 21 and May 5. Starting point is 00:00:00 I am very glad that David Arquette and Courtney Cox can work together. Yes. I was awash with feelings. There is a scene in this that I'm just like, that must have been really fucking hard for the two of you to two. Yeah. It's really, like, reconciling the breakup of their marriage. Yes, it's really sad. It's really sad. That's really nice somehow. That must really nice somehow. That's really nice. That. That's, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that that that that that th th th that, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi that that that that that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, th th th that, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th is thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thi to two. Yeah. They're like reconciling the breakup of their marriage. Yes, it's really sad. It's really sad. It's really sad. Really nice somehow. Yeah. Because they stayed good friends I think. Oh, that's good. I think they've been buds. Yeah. She seems like a delight. She was on an episode of the Hot One Show on the Hot to watch. She was on an episode of the hot one show that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that to that to that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be too. too. to the to the too. the to too. the to too. to to to too. to to to to to to too. to to to to to to to to watch that, I should watch it. Yeah, just watch famous people in hotwigs. But is it, are they talking with their mouths toll? Sometimes, but not often.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Okay. And you really, we can't complain about that because we've jumped nuts to these people. Oh yeah. I'm really happy. Nev Campbell is like my middle-aged icon. I just want to be Nev Campbell and I can't be. Yeah, because I'm not Canadian. I wasn't on party of five, and I'm not in five cream.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Scruffle. What if five cream is a boy band? Let me just, okay. Just photoshop. That's even gross. Oh, that's gross. I would just like thinking of marketing for that. Yeah, it's terrible. No, it's not good.
Starting point is 00:01:31 I'm a monster. It's terrible. You know what's not terrible? Jenna Ortega, I like her a lot. She's Tara. Yes, this is the first thing I've seen her in. No, she was in the babysitter too, too, to, to, to,. Come with it now. Duh. Dada. Da. Da. Da. Dada. Okay. She is the voice of Isabel on the Disney animated show Elena of Avalor. Oh, of course. I just think she's great. I think she's a lot of fun to watch. Yes, she's a lot of funni. Yes, she's a thinic. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's a little sass mouth. I called her very pernickety. Yeah, she's pernickety.
Starting point is 00:02:09 She does say things like the Baba Duke is an amazing meditation on motherhood and grief, which... True. I guess, but don't say it out loud. I like schlock these days, I guess. I've never ever liked the term elevated horror. I've never heard that before. Oh yeah, it's a thing like it yeah, yeah, yeah. All the movies that they mentioned got called that and it's just like they're just horror movies. Yeah, hereditary. Yeah. And it follows. Yeah. I remember not getting it.
Starting point is 00:02:39 I think I didn't get it and still really loved it. Yeah. Yeah. Because I think of that movie fondly as just a very good, weird slasher movie of a sort supernatural slasher. I gotta watch that one again. Yeah. I only saw it that one time when we did it. Yeah. I feel like I was in a bad mood.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Might have been. Might have been. Pre Zimbalta. Yes, that's Simbalta. Did you think that the person who was calling her sounded like Alan Alda? That did not occur to me, no, I don't think I know what Alanalda sounds like. Well, you didn't grow up watching Mash every night. I've never seen an episode of Mash in my life. Well, we're about to change that. We're about to change that.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Where we're to. As if I could. You're sitting in front of a computer right now. You could just open... Two screens! Right, that one that just has the close enough Lucio image on it could be playing mash right now. Manna-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-no. No, I don't know it. The lyrics of the match theme song from the movie are suicide is painless, blah, blah, blah, a bunch of other words.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I was like, you were, then the theme song for a TV show. Wow. Where they took the words out. Yeah. Would you like to play a game in a while? Not, I mean, do you really have a game for me? No, I to say not really, and then I realized I actually really wanted to. I need to do, I haven't done a game in a while. We're, well, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:04:08 You know, like some Wu Tang related thing to something else. I feel like we did one recently where I had to guess, it was like maybe around Christmas time, or I had to guess about ghosts, like ghosts, like ghosts? Oh yeah, that's right. That was really fun. That was good. I loved that one. Oh yeah where I made up from Christmas movies. What is your thing? Jingle all the way? I don't know. Ready to jingle. Ready to jingle. Oh boy. It's getting made this year. Yeah. So this movie starts off. Like every one of these fucking movies starts off. Yeah. Yeah. It's a woman at home alone.. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I I I I I I I I I I I. Yeah. Yeah. I I I I I I. Yeah. Yeah. I I I I. I I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. Yeah. Yeah. I. I'm. I'm. I'm. Yeah. I'm. I. I'm. I. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, where. Yeah, where I'm. Yeah, where I'm th. Yeah, where I'm th. Yeah, where I'm th. Yeah, where I'm th. Yeah, where I'm th. Yeah, where I'm. Yeah, where I'm of these fucking movies starts off, with a woman at home alone getting a phone call.
Starting point is 00:04:51 She's even wearing like the pink sweater. It's a little too on brand. It annoys me that the franchise thought this scene was so clever that they've done it several times, but also it scared the shit out of me the first time. I can see that. It annoys me that I was thuuuuuuuu th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th but also it scared the shit out of me the first time. I can see that. It annoys me that I was scared by it when it's now so ubiquitously stupid. Sure, sure, yeah, I can get that. The almost sort of like Blair Witch effect where you're like, oh it was a magic trick.
Starting point is 00:05:18 You got me with a magic trick. That movie still spooky though. For sure, for sure. But, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, the first, I, the first, the first, I, the first, the first, I, the first, the first, the first, the first, the first, the first the first the first the first thi, thi, thoes, thoes, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was, it was thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thoes, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. It was was was th. It was th. th. It was th. It's, th. It's, it's, th first time I saw Blair Witch, I white-knuckled it through that entire movie. Yeah. The end of it is, it's so scary. Yeah. But then like in retrospect, you're like, no, it's not? It's atmospheric. Is that elevated horror? I don't think so. Oh, well. Well, oh. Does it, does elevated horror, must it deal with themes of like... It's any horror movie that people who claim they don't like horror movies will think is a good movie. Okay, okay, okay. Yeah, it's basically a way for people to like, well I don't really like horror, but elevated horror I can get into. So not sorority babes at the slime ball ballorama? No, but the vivitch, they'll be like, oh, the vivage is fascinating. I like, like, I the the the the the the the thiiiii, I thi, I thi, I thi, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, like, like, like, like, like, like, I don't, I th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, I don't th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, thi, th sorority babes at the slime ballorama? No, but the vivage, they'll be like, oh the vivage is fascinating, it's a meditation on motherhood and grief. They all are, aren't they? Yeah, hereditary and... I think maybe
Starting point is 00:06:19 for me, I just don't care for themes much. I don't know. I just watch, I don't know. I enjoy those movies, but I don't want to think about anything. Is that okay? It's being fun. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like people want to make it like heavy metal, where heavy metal has a thousand subgenres.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Sure. And like, it's all just metal. Yeah. At the end of the day. I wonder if it's sort of the growing pain of like horror going from just in the last three decades. Yeah. Something like very non-mainstream, low-budget, gross, like, perverted kind of... Bee movies, if you will. Fee movies, right? To, like, major blockbusters. Right. And that's a big jump in a short period of time.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Yeah, I mean, probably Jaws being the first one, and then... And I think probably a lot of people didn't consider Jaws a horror movie because it didn't have those elements. Right, right, for sure. And it was all broad daylight and blah, blah, blah, blah. And it's scary as hell. Yeah. Yeah, I think, yeah. Yeah, it is going through that. And we also live in a time where everyone has to have an opinion.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Yeah, I'm one of those people. I do a show about it. I do this all the time where I'm like, oh, people always blast their opinions on the end. Oh, yeah, yeah, that's what I'm doing right now. That's our job. Not our day jobs. Um, so Alan Alda gives Sarah a call. He's asking her trivia questions about the stab franchise, which is the Scream franchise within the Scream movies, which is a little too meta. How long until they just do a stab movie?
Starting point is 00:08:15 I'm actually surprised they haven't. I think they will. This kind of felt like... It's a prequel to Stab. Spoiler alert, they kind of like put a nail in the coffin of Scream. I know. They do that in every movie, but this one felt like, okay, we're doing this. You think they were letting go? I think so. Is it just because, spoiler alert, David our cat dies?
Starting point is 00:08:41 No, I think it's because... Spoiler alert. The final girls are killing off the big bad again. Yeah. Texas Jainsaw Masker, Halloween, this movie, like that is now the new thing. But I feel like that's also like, Jamie Lee Curtis will never do another Halloween movie after the next one comes out. I feel like this movie has reached its logical end with Courtney Cox and Nev Campbell and no Parker Posey for some ungodly reason. Get fucking Parker Posey on the phone. She's never been in one of these movies has she? Oh my God! She was in Scream 3!
Starting point is 00:09:25 Yeah, she plays Gail Weathers in Stab! That's right, oh my God! I love her so much. Yeah, how did I forget? And she's a fucking national treasure in that movie. She is a national treasure in that movie. She's such a good bunko Courtney Cox too, and I mean that in the most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most most to be to be to be to be to mean that in the most loving way. This made me feel a little nervous like, oh, I'm never going to be to leave my kid home alone.
Starting point is 00:09:47 But we were left alone all the time and a murderer never called. Yeah, but no one loved me. No, murderers never did call though, you're right. And I won't have a landline anymore. You guys got rid of the phone that it was attached to. I. I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to too their their too. tho. too. too. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho tho tho tho their their their their their their thoer to me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me me. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to too. too. their too. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. todaa. toda? I just got rid of the phone that it was attached to. I did like coming in and seeing all of your messages blinking on your answering machine. I know you did because you mentioned it every time. How did I not notice it was gone then? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Fuck. It was my, who's in my touch. Terror gets the call. Terror gets the call. The killer's like I'm in Amber's house and I'm gonna kill Amber. Look out, I got the Amber answer these phone calls, answer these quizzes questions or else Amber dies. And Tara's answering them and she's scrolling through the IMDB for stab on her phone. It's like Tori Spelling and Luke Wilson, Heather Graham. It's a bit, that I think is very funny. Then I thought I'm getting a security system.
Starting point is 00:10:52 I think I might. Really? Yeah, why not? I don't know. I would just set it off constantly. Yeah. I'm a big dummy. Not a big dummy. Pretty big dummy. It's not dumb enough. Um. I did like the idea of like being able to lock your front door from your phone just because I'm lazy. Yeah, I, how I'm in bed all the the the the the the the the the front. I don't the front. I don't the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front the front, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't the the the the the the th. I don't the the th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't know th. I don't know, I'm not th. th. th. I'm not th. I'm not th. Yeah, thin, I'm not th. Yeah, I'm not th. Yeah, I able to lock your front door from your phone just because I'm lazy. Yeah, I'm in bed all the time and I'm like, fuck, I don't know if the front door is locked. I gotta go all the way downstairs and then all the way back up the stairs. Do you have a chain on the front door? No, get a chain on the front door. You'll never forget that you put. Why were the subtitles telling me that this was Charlie that she was talking to? Charlie? Yeah, who the fuck is Charlie? Who the fuck is Charlie? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:11:33 That's really weird. Why don't I just say like ghostface? I don't know, it's a Charlie? It's I was like, is this just a fuck up? I think it's a char. the that. th' th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the fuck is the fuck is just, is like, is like, the fuck is the fuck is the fuck is like, who's is like, who's is like, who's is, who's is, who's is, who's is, who's, who's, who's the fuck. Who's the the the the the the the the the the the they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the fuck. the the fuck. the the the fuck. the the fuck. the the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the f. the the the the fuck.? No one in this movie is called Charlie as far as I know. Closest we get is a Chad. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, I do like, I even know that's like, look it up on your phone and I was like, yeah, you did it? Well done. Good work. I love when you like get mad at a movie because you're like, do something smarter and then they start doing the thing you thought of and you're like, oh, yeah, the the the the th the th. the th. th. th. Oh, th. Yeah, their th. Yeah, thi thi, their thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their their thi, yeah, yeah, yeah, thi, th. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, to th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, to th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, t t t t t t t t t t t t t t they start doing the thing you thought of and you're like, oh. And she answers that Billy Lumas is the killer, forgetting about Stu Mocker. Matthew Lillard. I love Matthew Lillard. He's such a goofball. And then she runs outside to help her friend. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:22 And she gets fucke stabbed right through the hand, which I thought was very nice. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And the killer keeps disarming her locks? Yeah, that was scary. Right, this is why you don't get the security system. But then you just don't have the... Hmm, hacking. Yeah, but that's why you just keep baseball bats all over your house. I field hockey stick. Sure. It's all the same. And machetes and meat cleavers and a bunch of other weapons. I know. Someday I'm worried I'm going to trip and fall onto a machete in this house. You're going to have to explain that to my family.
Starting point is 00:12:53 I tell you about when I was cleaning up the thirteen feet feet feet feet 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 13 the to to the to to the to the their the the to the the the these unwieldy, fucking skis that I have hanging off the bottom of my legs are kick shit all the time. Yeah. So I opened my dad's door, go to walk down in the basement and kick a gun. Oh my god. That is at the top of the steps that goes all the way down the steps. And I just stopped and I was like stopped stopped stopped I was like stopped and I was like stopped and I was like stopped and I was like stopped and I was like th I was like stopped and I was like th I was like th I was like th I was like th and I was like the th thi. But I was like, hey dad, what's up with this gun? I kicked my gun?
Starting point is 00:13:27 Yeah. Yeah, kick the gun, dad. You want to let me know that's there before I go down the steps? Jesus. And then my sister's like, oh yeah, watch out for the towels. There's a handgun in them. I'm like, what the fuck is going is going is going is going. towels. Yeah, so don't get big feet if you can avoid it. Try binding them. Is what Alan saying. So this cuts to then a scene outside like a bowling alley or
Starting point is 00:13:52 something and a song kicks in and I was like, I'm sorry Miss Jackson. I was like, kids are listening to outcast again. No, it's just so old that it's being sampled. The song is so good. Kids, can you do the little guitar riff? Yeah, yeah. Kids! Oh, no, I thought you were going to do with your mouth. That's it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:14:13 That's it. What's that to outcast? Yeah. Just grab stankonia. Oh, stankonia. Oh, stankonia, you're going to find hits on there that you recognize, you're going to get your bombs over Baghdad. You're going to just be impressed by the talent, the sheer talent. Listening to Big Boy and his skill at stringing words
Starting point is 00:14:38 together will blow your fucking mind. Yeah. Kids, listen to Outcast. I think that's the best advice we've ever given actually. For sure. And also look up the, I'm sorry Miss Jackson, I am four eels. Yeah, you love that one. I didn't mean to make your daughter cry. I am just some fish. I'm not a guy. Oh, the internet has given me such joy. Yeah, joy and sorrow, really. So we meet Tara's sister, Samantha. Yes. And her boyfriend, Richie. Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:13 She gets a call from Wes, her sister's friend, who tells her that her sister's been attacked and she needs to come back to her hometown of Woodsboro. And who is Richie the progeny of? Fucking Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, right? Yeah. He looks like both of them too. Yeah, smashed together one human being. Just mushed into, he's like his mom's little button nose. It's cute. I was like, oh you got charisma from them too. Well done, Richie. Yeah, I really enjoyed his performance.
Starting point is 00:15:45 He's in a movie, or a TV show called The Boys that I enjoy, which is about if superheroes were real, they would just really be bad people. Oh, I like that. Is he a bad guy? No, he's one of the good guys, he was really enjoyable. You know who I really don't like? Tell me. The kid playing Wes, who has that weird face, it's like very long, flat.
Starting point is 00:16:11 Weird face. Yeah, he was just, everything I've seen him in I've disliked him in. You know what, I didn't like that weird face boy. That's mean. But still, I don't like him, so it's okay for me to say. With this growing out bleach blonde hair. Yeah, like he was in this really terrible horror movie about a haunted house, and he was on that show 13 reasons why and I found him insufferable. I just cannot look at his face. That show seemed rough. I never went down that road.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Well, I watched the first season while I was on maternity leave. Oh, unwise. Yeah. I'm feeling pretty depressed already. I just, I find him off pudding. Okay. Every time he opens his mouth, I want to just put my fist right into it. Is that okay that I feel that way about a stranger? Child? I don't think he's a child. Can I tell you that a child that I celebrate in this film? Who? Cuba Gooding Jr.'s son? What? Mason Gooding, who is Chad. He's one of the twins. Oh, I see that now.
Starting point is 00:17:12 I hope he's nicer than his dad, huh? He's in the film Book Smart, which if y'all have not seen, please watch Book Smart. It's a teen romp comedy starring two delightful ladies, and it kind of flips the script on the team romp movie. It's very good. And he's great in it. Hot tip.
Starting point is 00:17:32 He's a Kuba Gooding Jr.'s son. And all I can think about what I think of Kuba Gooding Jr. is that a clip of him that's on the internet of him yelling, Somebody Suck that Baby's Dick. Yeah, I have heard you say that about Kubotting Jr. before. Somebody suck that baby's dick! Yeah. Also, I just want to point out that this kid with the weird face is 25, so it's absolutely acceptable for me to say shit about him. Bring it, kid. I will punch you in your th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. th. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm, th. I'm th. I've th. th. th. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've the. I've the. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've th. I have. I've th. I've th. I've th. I've th. Yeah. I. I've th. Yeah. Yeah. I've th. Yeah. I've th. I've th. I've th. th. th. th. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. I have too. I have too your teeth. Monster.
Starting point is 00:18:05 Uh, this is the kids that I describe as the new group of horny teams. Yeah, they are all just, I mean, with the exception of Mindy whose hair is fantastic. Yeah. I care not a whit for them. Mindy is a goddamn delight. Mindy is a goddamn delight. Yeah. Yeah. Mindy is a goddamn delight. Um, yeah. Um, so there's this purple car that rolls up and this like,
Starting point is 00:18:28 disheveled, older guy gets out of it? Vince, who's been stalking one of the girls? Why am I totally blanking on this? He like, uh, he has tattoos and a leather vest. Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, because he's so briefly in the film. But why is he in it and why does he get killed? Because he is somebody's kid. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:18:54 Yeah, of like the original cast. He's somebody's... Oh, I must have missed that. Yeah. Because he just seemed very out of place. He's like super abusive and gross and like dies basically pissing on a thiiiiiii.. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. thi. th. he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, hea, hea, hea, hea, he. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, thi. He's, thi. He's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, thi. He very out of place. He's like super abusive and gross and like dies basically pissing on a wall. Yeah, he's okay so he's Vince Vince's Stu Mocker's nephew. Okay. And the other kids are Randy's nephews. I know why I didn't remember Vince because I just referred to him as the three musketeers looking mother fuckcker. Yes, his facial hair is absurd.
Starting point is 00:19:26 He just got some real d'Artagnan vibes. Yeah, strong agree. At this point I wrote, ha ha ha, I just remembered it was Emma Roberts and the last one, which is so funny. Sorry spoilers for Scroform. We haven't done, we never did two. Which I think is a fine slasher. Do we do three?
Starting point is 00:19:46 Squire three, that's Parker Posey. Okay, and Scraform is Kirby. Emma Roberts, who? Uh, the blonde-haired girl. Yeah. Um, who's in a ton of, she was in that like, country and western TV show and, Emma Roberts? Is that Emma Roberts? Julia Roberts niece? I don't, Jesus, is everyone just related to everyone? This movie is too meta. Not Emma Roberts, Hayden Penitier. Oh, Hayden Penitier. Kirby Reed, that's who I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Did you know that she was married to, um, the mayor of Keeve's brother? And they have a child together? No. Yeah. But they're both boxers, not her, he and his brother. About Vladimir Klichko, doesn't matter. Wait, Hayden Pantier was? Yeah. Wow. They were like a little and large scenario. She's real tiny. He's giant. We refer to that as a little enlarged. Can we not? As someone who's a solid 12 inches taller than his partner I'm in. Yeah, I'll call you guys a little enlarge, it's fine. So these teens are hanging out and like lose little corner bar. Why the fuck are they allowed in there? Oh, because they're 25. Yes. If they're playing pool, yeah, three
Starting point is 00:21:06 musketeer guys pulls a knife, and then gets caught peeing. Yeah, and then gets murdered. Yeah, red right hand is playing. I don't know that I've ever heard this song outside of a TV or movie. I was gonna say movies, TV, stop. We're done. It's a fine. It's a fine song. There are other Nick Cave songs about murder. We don't need to keep hitting red-right hand. No. And I know what was in the first one. I know I was there. Oh was it?
Starting point is 00:21:32 Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know what? the where the ghost faces, like tracking the people through their house? All of them? There's like a shitty rich couple. Was that a? Maybe that wasn't a scream movie?
Starting point is 00:21:55 Maybe we're... Who knows? Anyway? So we cut to the hospital where Tara has woken up and her sister's there and they're going to have like a makeup moment, which is very nice. And then her sister goes to like the cafeteria and gets attacked by Ghost Race? And how? How is this? Why is this hospital always abandoned? Do people not get ill or hurt in Woodsboro? They must. They must.
Starting point is 00:22:25 They must. They must. And there's distaste for Sam, just out of the gate. You're just like, okay, so Amber's part of this. There's got to be a second one. Yeah, she was very strange. And I even said, I think it's the boyfriend. Sure.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Yeah, because it's obviously the boyfriend. At one point, I was like, is it the sister? No, it's not the sister. She couldn't have stabbed herself in that opening scene. No, could you imagine putting a knife all the way through your own hand for like a prank? Not a prank, but a con. I like to think of this. this Ritchie th, Ritch this is is is is is is is is a thi thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is a thi, is a thi, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, is a prank, thus thi, thi, the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thea. thea. thea. thea. the up on the stab franchise, so he started watching them all on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:23:09 And I was like, okay, so we're getting even more meta. Now we're just going down the metal hole. And all the while, everyone is talking about horror movie troops and what should happen and what's going to happen and who everyone is. The kids are being very blase about the fact that their friend was attacked and nearly murdered. Yes. They're terrible to her. Yes. And then when one of them is attacked and murdered, Wes, the worst one, they're also like not that sad about it. I mean I know he's got a weird face but he's dead.
Starting point is 00:23:38 And so is Marley Shelton and I really like her. He seems to be the one with a moral compass out of all of them. They just do not care. That's wild. Oh my god I just saw the giant spider on the ceiling. I've been looking at him all night. He's got a shadow that makes it look like there's two spiders. Oh great, multiplying. So we find out that Sam, Skiedolricks baby. I hate it. I hate it too. I hate it too. It the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm multiply. It. It. It, th. Yeah. It, th. Yeah. Yeah. Starting point is 00:24:30 Yeah, I mean, he's not a young man. No. But they definitely smoothed them out to be in this. And it's just like, but why? Yeah, so he's, for those of you have not seen this movie. He's talking to her in like, she's having like a, what is it called, um, psychotic episode? A psychotic episode?
Starting point is 00:24:53 Yeah, she's having like a break with reality where she sees visions of him talking to her. How would she have any idea of what he looks like? Oh I guess there's like all the true crime stuff. Yeah, plus she's gonna stab. But he's not in stab. He's played by somebody in Stab. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love Luke Wilson. I just watched that episode of the X-Files that he's in where it's told from two points and acting like an idiot. Just love it. That's a really good episode. It's a really good episode.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Guys, if you haven't watched the X-Files, check it out. Seriously, Outcast and the X-Files, it is 1998. Also, yeah. I think I just really love David Arquette. He's just always a delight. You're always happy to see him. Yeah. Yeah. He is always like slightly put upon and you're rooting for him.
Starting point is 00:25:50 Yeah, you always want to see David Arquette come out on top. Yeah. Like in the divorce, you were like, oh, Gordon Cox. You know? Like in the divorce. Like in their last name is Carpenter, because of course it is. Oh, sure. I mean, that's the even metaness of, yeah, it's... Hmm. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:26:08 I mean, the kid's name is Wes. Oh, yeah, and then at the end it's like, in memory of Wes, and you're like, what do you want this? Can I tell you? How stupid I am? Please. I was like, why don't they put a memorial for that kid? How long did it take you? Like, at least a minute. Yeah, that's too long.
Starting point is 00:26:30 You were like, walk into the bathroom and you realized it. Oh, what the? Oh, right. Yeah, West Craven. Cool, go, go, go, go, go. Co. Coo, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. the. the. the. the. th. th....................................... the. th. th. th..... that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that.................................................................................................................................................... the. the that he made that was the meta-Fredi movie that's terrible. Starting point is 00:26:54 So yeah, she's seeing her dead dad and he's like, you're gonna be a murderer lady just like, I was a murderer man. Get in there and cut some throats! Shut up. Shut up. They go visit David Arquette at his that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that throats. Shut up. Shut up. They go visit David Arquette at his trailer where he's living rough kind of. Yeah, right, right, right. And he's they're like trying to get his help and he's like, I've been stabbed nine times, which I really liked. He's also watching his ex-wife on the TV and has photos of her all over the house. It's really sad. And she's being very obnoxious on the telea. t. t. ttau. ttau-I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the their, their, thr-s. Starting point is 00:27:25 Courtney Cox can do, this particular air that she puts on that I think she's just really great at. And has, she has embodied this character so well for so long? She is Gail Weathers. She is Gail Wethers. But so is Parker Poezy. Why does Do we get to keep his gun in badge? They ask him to retire. I think they're going to take the gun. No, you've retired with honor.
Starting point is 00:27:49 You can take all that stuff home with you. I guess, do you think so? If I know anything about police, which I don't. Then yes. Oh, man. So he, she tells him that her real dad is Billy Lumas, right? And he's like, I don't want to help you guys. You should leave.
Starting point is 00:28:09 And then like 15 minutes later he's like, I can't wait to help. Yeah, I'm gonna have to help now. I'm gonna be a help guy. This is also when we learned that Randy was the twins' uncle, their uncle Randy, they're like, th, th, th, th, th, and th, and th, and th, and th, and th, and th, th, th, like, and th, th, th, like, and th, like, like, like, their, and thi, and their like, and they're like, and they're like, and thi, like, and they're like, they're like, they're like, and they're like, thi, and their, thi, thi, and thi, and thi, and their, and their, and their, and their, and th. Sure. Okay. And their mom is the weird nerdy sister. The weird nerdy sister? From the original Scream movie. Why she?
Starting point is 00:28:33 Was Heather Mata Razorado in that? Yeah, well I don't know if that's her name. Well that's her name. Well then yes. Are you sure? Yeah, Heather Mazarati. Stop that. Stop that. Heather Madarazo. She was in one of my favorite movies of all time. Which is?
Starting point is 00:28:53 Welcome to the Dahl House. I was going to say, welcome to the Dollhous. It's a great. Oh, she wasn't in the first screen? No. But that's right. I do remember now that she was like, I'm a minor in Scream 3, and I like that a lot because I think she's a very funny actor. She is very funny. She gets nothing to do in this movie. No, she walked in, bring snacks, leaves. Yeah. Starting point is 00:29:25 just related to everyone. It sounds like maybe nepotism, I don't mean. Yeah, I mean I mean Hollywood, look at it. It's kind of wild that all these people's family stayed in Woodsboro, too. You'd think you'd get on out of there. You've tried to leave but it just keeps pullingthey're talking about the reqal where no one liked the last movie in a franchise so they had to redo it? Right. So is this happening in a universe where Nev Campbell did not come back in Scream 4? I don't know. Scream 4 is the one where she wrote the book and she comes back to do, yeah I don't because they never reference that. Although they talk about Gail writing books. But Gale's been writing books since the dawn. That's what she does.
Starting point is 00:30:08 She was happiest when she was writing. She's only happy when it rains. When he said that to her, I felt very sad. Yeah. The two of them, I can't want them to be happy. I can't want them to be happy. I just want them to be happy. Yeah. But yeah David Arquette says I'm starting to regret coming here and I thought so am I. Because he goes with them to see Martha Meeks his kids right? Yeah. And the kids are all

Starting point is 00:30:53 Oh yeah, Mindy you would never be friends with. Because like every time someone leaves. No, right, right, when legitimately some of them are. Yeah. And some of them have been, yeah. Yeah. Cut to the sheriff ordering more edamame. And I was like, power move. Always get more edamame. Sheriff Judy. Yeah. Like Marley Shelton. Sure, she's fun. No, my Michael Ian Black. Hell I would that you were. Am I Michael A black and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul and or Paul? and or Paul? Starting point is 00:31:55 I'll take Janine. Yeah, who wouldn't? I might fight you for Janine Gros. She's so good. So, Wes is in the shower. This kid fucking loves to lather. I don't know about you. I'm a quick shower. Like, I'm in and out. You get in there, you wash the stuff, you get out.
Starting point is 00:32:10 What do you do in there? What you're doing in there? What the telling me. Just hot water on the back of my neck at that tiny tiny tug job. All over your size 13 feet. That's gross. Who says that? Put your glasses back on. Oh Feetske. So. Man, the attack on Sheriff Judy is incredibly brutal. Yeah. I did not appreciate that. I don't-
Starting point is 00:32:47 I don't know why I love Gore in some contexts and in others. I'm like, this is excessive, but maybe I was just already put off, you know? Yeah. This movie, like, I feel like from the jump this movie is challenging you to like it. Yeah. And then talking shit on you for liking horror movies. It's kind of like the no holds barred effect where it's like calling wrestling fans all kinds of names. And it's like, you guys are making a fucking wrestling movie. You know, I find it very strange to come down so hard on horror fans. Or to categorize them so like pernicketally. I mean, especially since we've seen like a cabin in the woods, which is meta but still celebrates the genre.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Absolutely, everyone that made that liked horror movies and it wasn't like being very disrespectful of other people who do. And this movie is just like it's read its own comments too many times and it's like, oh really, that's what you think? Absolutely. It's too much. Too much. Too much. I will defend the meddiness of scream, scrimmune, scrimmone. Scrum-no? Screamt, no? Scrum-I. Scrummune. No? Scream, no? Scream, no? Scream, th, th, th, th, th, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, oh, oh, oh, that, oh, oh, that, oh, oh, that's like, that's like, that's like, oh, oh, that's like, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, really, that's, that's, that's, that's like, that's like, Let's call it Scrimoon. Scrimunun? Scrimuno? Scrimun or just Scramun. Scrumoon? Scrimmon.
Starting point is 00:34:08 Scrimmon is good. One, two, th'wa. Oh, I don't speak French. Yes, I do. Oh, man. I wish Fulch had made a scream who made demons, but still I wish Fulchie had made a scream movie. Yeah, I would watch that. I mean you'd bake me, so. Anyway, yeah, the attack on Sheriff Judy is like very vicious. Yeah. I don't love it. I don't love it.
Starting point is 00:34:38 More vicious than any other attack in this movie. Yeah, and why? I don't know. Also, the blood the blood the blood the blood the blood the blood the blood that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's. that's that's that's that's th. that's th. that's th. th. that's th. th. that's that's thi. that's that's that's that's that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that's. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. Starting point is 00:35:19 She gets murdered while the sun's in the shower, and then he goes downstairs and very nicely sets the table and I was proud of him as a dean that sets the table. I think I was also mad about her death just because it was like she loved her kids so much you know I get about this and he it was clearly just the two of them and even though he was like oh shucks mom he like to took care of stuff. Yeah yeah. Yeah, I was sad about it. Also, she didn't get to eat any of that at a mommy. No, well, no one ever picked it up. Yeah. Yeah. Bummer. Anyway, so then he hears something outside sees the front door open But just closes the front door. Such a ding-dog. Which? Ghostface knew he was gonna do and then turned to run and kills him. We're so lucky. Yes. Oh yeah because we just we left out
Starting point is 00:36:12 the whole scene where she's like driving to pick up the food, Ghost Face calls her and then says I've already killed two and she's like you've only killed one. Starting point is 00:36:32 Yeah. Because he knows that the boys in the shower. He's like, this kid is using so much fucking water. Pittsburgh where our water is wildly expensive for no goddamn reason. But I did like that when he says psycho, they cut to the shower head. Yeah. I was like, oh, that's a nice little nods. A lot of these little nods are nice. A lot of the big nods are that swinging the mess.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Yes. So all of our characters show up at the scene, basically. Yeah, well, where that's where Gail sees Dewey for the first time. And she's like, why aren't you in uniform? And he's like, I retired, and she's like, why? He's been stabbed nine times. You're honestly shocked that he's retired? Nine times!
Starting point is 00:37:15 And he's like, I told you not to come. Yeah. And then I went to her to her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her her to her her w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w wi to her to her to her to her wi to her wi-a to her wik-a-a-a-a-a-a to her wik-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her to her wi to her wi to her wi-s thi-s thi-s. thi-s. thi-s. thi-s. thi-s. thi-s. thi. thi. thi. Really? Yeah. He's wildly older than she is. Yeah, I would think so. Whatever. And then I have the note where they're talking about their relationship that she said, this must be weird for them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, speaking of weird, Tara is in the hospital watching Dawson's Creek. Yeah. And I looked at the man who wrote this movie is James Vanderbilt. And I wondered, maybe he feels a kinship. What do you think?
Starting point is 00:37:53 I don't know, we'll have to ask Pacey? I'm probably. I didn't watch that. I was too punk. Too punk. Tupunk. Tupunk. Tupunk. Tupon. Tupon to punk punk. I don't even know what that means. I do. I wish I didn't. I never saw it. Here's how you should have known who the bad guy was in this movie.
Starting point is 00:38:16 How? The guy who's laying in bed eating Pizza Hut? Yeah, you think that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. too. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. t. t. t. t. that's the bad guy? Yeah, I fucking hate pizza huts, disgusting. I think it's good if you need to clean out. That should not be what pizzas for. No, I guess it's not a laxative. Man, I'll fuck with some pizza hud, like every five years or so, I'll fuck with a little bit of pizza hut. I ate in one, like a couple, did not was maybe five years ago. Do they still have those red plastic cups? FUCKS with the crushed ice instead of the cubes. Okay, okay. Classy shit. Yeah
Starting point is 00:38:49 Yeah salad bar? So I got salt. Oh, fuck you pizza? Oh, you and Papa John get the hell out of it. Oh, yeah Papa John. Oh, yeah, Papa John could suck it. Just so hard to not say the N word when you're Papa John. Anyway, and what is the the the the the the the the the the the th th. Oh, th th. Oh, th th. Oh, th is th is th is th. Oh, th. I don't, oh, he's watching the Dead Meat podcast people. It's watching the Dead Meat podcast people. And as my grandmother always said, if you can't say anything nice, say it quietly. I got a question for the horror movie community.
Starting point is 00:39:26 I mean, I have been in a horror movie short. You have been, you're an actor. My voice is in a horror movie short. Well, why aren't we asked to do these things? Why isn't Halloween chills getting in touch and being like, hey, Katie and Alan, maybe you guys would like to to talk shit on something in this movie? Maybe you guys would like like to like like like like like like to like to to to to to to to to to to to to the to to to to the to to to to to the to say to say to to say the to say to say to say to say to say to say to say to saytalk shit on something in this movie. Maybe you guys would like to be like weird parodies of the thing you do for a living? Um, screaming about horror movies? Yeah. Yeah, maybe you would like to be shrill about it.
Starting point is 00:39:53 We'll do it. I mean, yeah, if they're gonna pay us, I'll do anything. I wouldn't even do it for free. Yeah, I'd do it for the creed, frankly. Yeah. So if you're a horror movie, get in touch. Horror movies, if you're out there. Speak to our agent, it's Alan. He checks the email. The remake of whatever having to baby Jane, let's do this. Oh my God, I would love, love to play that part. Whoa. I'm not like, I don't get to be baby Jane. Were I casting?
Starting point is 00:40:25 Listen, were I an actor? That would be the part of the lifetime for me. Oh, man. So, oh, Sam realizes that all the cops are here at the sheriff's house and none of the cops are at the hospital with her sister. Right. So they have to speed to the house, to the hospital, which is very, very very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, they have to speed to the hospital, which is very, very, very far away. It's like been hours. It goes from day, like pre-dusk to full dark. Yeah. How far away is that sheriff's house from the hospital?
Starting point is 00:40:58 Too far. Sheriff should have to live in the neighborhoods. They're sherfing. I agree. I do like this because David Arquette gets to act the shit out of being scared by this woman's driving, which I appreciate it. He's doing a great job. He's cute. You know we have to make it to the hospital to protect your sister, right? Then he rolls in and starts shooting poorly. It feels like why he's been stabbed so many times. He cannot shoot. Yeah. Yeah. When the sister unhooks herself and crawls out of bed and she has that boot on, yeah. I was like, oh yeah, I forgot that he broke your leg. Yeah. And the opening scene he like steps on her ankle and breaks her leg. That's right. Which is lays down many, many times, stands up, I think I would not. She has a hole in her hand.
Starting point is 00:41:48 She's using it to drag herself across the floor. Madam, no. I know kids heal faster and everything, but no. But no, no, I know, their kids are, and people are not, yeah. They're like, Tara, how'd you get locked in here? They closed it down 25 minutes ago. I really want to rip an IV out of myself at some point. I feel like that would be really rewarding to do that. That's a wild thing to say. Said it. I'll give you one, if you want to pull it out. I said it and thousand of people are about to hear it. I the their it. I their it. I the the th. I thi. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I the thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theeeeea. thea. thea. thea. theea. thea. thi. thi. thi. thi. people are about to hear it. There is one cop that did not go to the sheriff's house.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Why wasn't he enough? Because that cop is dead on the floor. Right. Also, when the reveal happens, I'm like, could they have? Could these two have killed everybody? I don't know if I buy that. So here, R Richie gets stabbed, gets sliced in the arm. Mm-hmm. And... Do you get it? Do he gets it? That sucks. Get stabbed in the gut. Because he shoots ghost face and gets everybody on the elevator and then says, you gotta shoot him in the head.
Starting point is 00:43:07 Yeah. And he walks back and doesn't immediately shoot them in the head. Yeah, I know. Dewis. Dewis. Deweis. Also, in all the talk of all the trauma of everyone in this movie, no one ever mentions that his sister was murdered by Ghost Face the first time around. Rose McGowan, you have seized to exist. You know, I was really, I understand that they had to kill him to give this stakes.
Starting point is 00:43:33 Yeah. Or to put a nail in it, if that's what you think. I assume it was a contract dispute. I assumed it was there for the Gravitas. Yeah, but I would have really liked if this franchise had continued with the three, th. th. th. th. th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I'm, th. I'm, thi. I, thi, th. I've, th. I've, th. I've, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I've, I was to be, I was to be, I was, I was, I was, to be, to be. I was, to be. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I, th. I'm, to. I'm, to. I'm, to. I'ma. I'ma. I'ma. I'ma. I'ma. I'm just just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just, I'm just. I'ma. I'm to franchise had continued with the three of them always making it, and then it got really silly like episodes of Scooby-Doo. Sure. Yeah, I would like that. Uh, that's not what happens, because Dewey is dead. Oh, right, so they're in the hospital.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Gail's so sad. Sidney comes in, she goes, hey and a bunch of kids. I guess. The hospital is now bustling, why wasn't at the evening before? Who can say? And then I wrote, Sidney's a killer. Wouldn't that have been a good twist? Oh, would have been a good twist? That's a great way to end the series. And Sam says the only sensible thing anyone's thin' thuu. thu. thu. thu. thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' to to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, to say, thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' th. Oh, I thought it was you want me to help you in the host of a morning show commit a murder, which I thought was very funny. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I get it, but it's played out. I feel like it's men being like, it's a women's time to shine. We're like, s-shioled. the thi. th. the final the final the final the final the final the final the final final final final final final final final final final final. the final. the final. the final final. the final. th. th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm played out. I feel like it's men being like, it's a women's time to shine. We're like, shut up. Just fucking chill. We can shine it other way, sir.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Yeah. The girls are gonna win. All right. Relax. We should mention that this movie was made by the same pair that made ready or not. Oh, is that so? Yeah, which we loved. And which the w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w w it it it the women? the women? the women? the women? the women? the women? the women? th? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the. the Ready or Not. Oh, is that so? Yeah, which we loved and which are the final girl wins. Spoilers for that movie.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Yes, but that's not the final girl of a 20-year-long franchise. No, I thought there was a lot of quality drop-off, I guess is what I'm saying in that work. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's a bummer. But also I feel like they had to, like, they were, they didn't write it, they just directed it. Sure. I feel like it was, I don't know, they waded into something. Was it the writer of the original Scrafeme? Screw-no.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Screw no. Scroon, Scroon, I'm sorry, I thought we were speaking French. Oh, sorry, the were watching. I know. Yeah, okay. That is a meta-ass joke if that's why they did that. Nobody did write Zodiac, which I enjoyed quite a bit. Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Although I think I may still be watching that movie, very long. ve to be very long. tho' and he also wrote, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that's that's a that's a that's a that's a thi. that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. theat the. the. theat the. the. that like maybe they just shouldn't have gotten involved with this franchise. I feel like it's going to drag them down. I think so. It's a hard thing to jump into. It's a hard thing to jump into to jump into George Lucas's shoes. You know, I mean, I think you've seen it with, Star Wars? Which movies did George Lucas make? Star Wars.
Starting point is 00:46:26 No, I mean like the, how many, I don't know what he passed away. He wrote the first, what, six of them? So the first three and then the real first three? Yeah, yeah, yeah. And then all the new ones, but the new ones are the ones people like, no, I don't know what people like the original three and that's it? No I think people people like the more recent ones as well but not to the same degree that they like the original three. Okay. Yeah but it's just like it's a weird thing to like jump into that universe and like have to work
Starting point is 00:46:55 in that world. Right. You're already constrained and with this meta thing, you know? Right. And it's like, it's almost like, at this point, it's just a cover song. Yeah, it's like laminations of meta when you're making puff pastry dough and gray British bakeoff, and you just have to keep folding and folding. Now, are you doing a book fold, or you're doing the try fold? What are you doing to get with a bookfold because it looks really satisfying. Yeah. I agree with Mary Barry. They sell this in the store.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Yeah, I love Maryberry. So now we're at a party. Yeah. I'm just like deeply not interested in these teens. No, other than when Mindy turns in, when someone's like, what are you going to do, I don't know, I liked that. And that's where I said, I like Mindy and Francis. I like the idea of those two hooking up. You're shipping them. So they're like, oh, Amber, we're running low on beers and she goes out out of the basement and gets four. Dummy. That's how we should have known.
Starting point is 00:48:01 And thi thi th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the the they thi th. I'm th. I like th. I like th. I like th. I like they they they their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their they they they they. I they. I thi. I like her down is like, never go to the basement alone. Yeah. What if I'm the killer? And then they have a whole conversation about what if I'm the killer? What if I'm the killer? Why doesn't she just kill Mindy right there? I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:48:14 And then Chad, the gooding junior boy, his, he's offended his lady friend. Yes, because he doesn't want, he's been pressuring her to have sex, and now she wants to have sex and he doesn't want to because he's afraid she's the killer. Which is funny. But everyone has told her she's too boring to be the killer. I, also very funny. I think, that's also very funny. That's alsothe thing. That would be a lie. And so this party is taking place at Stu's house because Amber's family bought it.
Starting point is 00:48:52 Amber lives in Stu's house from the first movie. And in that house, Mindy is watching the movie of her uncle getting murdered in this very house. Correct. I hate it. It's meta. I hate it. No, that's too meta. Oh, too meta. So what happens to our boy, Chad?
Starting point is 00:49:13 He goes outside and goes face cuts his femoral artery in his length? I thought he cut it. I thought it was just his thigh that got cut. But he's losing a lot of blood. Yeah. There's the their their their their their their their their th there there there there there there there there there there's th. There's th. There's a whole. There's a whole. Th. T. T. T. It's t got cut, but he's losing a lot of blood. Yeah. There's a whole thing with like an app to find the phone, and then his phone's being followed by the app that find the phone and blahbity, blahbity. It's not as tense as they think it is.
Starting point is 00:49:37 It is not. And then he gets stabbed a bunch more. They went to the party. Sam and Richie and Tara, Tara, went there because Tara needed her inhaler and she left one with Amber. Her inhaler was missing from her bag. Right. That's why they're there. Right. And then it's revealed somehow, I don't remember who the killers are. I mean, I know who they are, but I don't remember how it's revealed. Yeah, yeah. After I have the note, these kids are a little too flippant about who the killer is.
Starting point is 00:50:13 And their, like, their friend is dead and another one was nearly mortally wounded, you know? Like, what the fuck? All these kids deserve to die. And fortunately fortunately, they, they, they, thuuuuuuuuuu, thu, thu, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. And, thi's thii. thii. thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi, thi, to die. And fortunately, most of them do. So now Mindy gets attacked. But she does, she's watching the scene of Stab, which is based on the scene from Scream, of Randy being like, Turn around because he's watching Halloween, Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:39 Yelling at Jamie Lee Curtis. Oh, brother. But then she turns around, so it's like a breaking of the cycle. Yes. Yeah, which is good. Fine. I mean I hate the whole setup but I think it's fine. I do think that I like the one point in the movie where someone's like, so it's a movie about a guy in a mass killing a bunch of teens. So it's Halloween. Yeah. Like no, well yeah, it's kind of like Halloween. It's Ritchie. It's R. Well. Well. Well. It's th. So we're just talking about that and like remembering Blockbuster, you know. It's like a cultural phenomenon.
Starting point is 00:51:33 Okay, okay. I enjoyed it. That's all. Well, fine. Okay, we'll fucking watch it already. Oh my god. It's like, what do I have to do? Turn it on for you? Anyway, they got shot shot Gail Gail Gail g g g g g g g g g g g g g gail gail gail, Gail, Gail, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to. to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the tho. the the tho. the the thoooooooooo. the the the the thooooooo. too. too. too. too. to have to do, turn it on for you? Anyway, they got shot Gail Weathers, which I thought was unkind. Right, because Sidney and Gale have guns,
Starting point is 00:51:48 they go into the house and then Amber shoots them and. But well, so, okay, so Amber gut gives. Amber shoots Gail Weathers in the gut. Yeah. And Sidney's like, I gotta you've got to finish this. For Dewey. For Dewey. There are other ways to get people to the hospital. Call any ambulance. You could just dial 911 and leave her the phone. Uh-huh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Yeah. Sydney's like, all right, then. theyll. Do we say that it in a chat room or something. On subreddit. He says, how can fandom be toxic? It's about love. Which I was like, oh, so you hate the people that like your movies? Yes, that's what I'm saying. It's the no holds barred effect.
Starting point is 00:52:37 And then he says something very, I mean, I understand he's the bad guy. But he says to Sam, it wasn't that hard that hard fuck you either, but being a sexually available woman is supposed to be empowering these days, which is wildly out of place in this film. Yeah, it was like, I was like, he's not like a fucking insel, like why are you doing, like this is weird. Also, you're fucking a teenager too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you're a sco-a'''''. You're a sch fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking a scat' you're a scat' th you're a sco' thi fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking a sco' the sco' their thi-a' thi, you're a sco' thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, you're a thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're a scumbag. Yeah. Also, you're a fucking murderer, a piece of shit. Yeah. Like, I get that, I get that he can say bad things because he's the bad guy, but that's like... It's like, a little too far. Yeah. Why would you do that? Yeah. He does have the good line where he yells, do he nailed it in one? Yeah. Then he tells Amber to fan out that that that that that that that that that th you th you th you to th you th you to th you the to th you to the to th you th you the the th you to th you th you th you tho tho tho tho thoom tho thathea tho tho' tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thathea thathe thathe. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah, t. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeahtrust the boyfriend. Dewey nailed it in one. Yeah, then he tells Amber to fan out, which I don't think you can do as one person. I think fanning out requires more than one person. But what if she did? That'd be great. Oh man. So there's like some big fight scene with Sam and Richie and Skeet Ulrich in the fucking grandfather clock reflection., which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, which, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there's there's there's there's they they, the they, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, there, th. Yeah, the, thin, the can the can thean. I thean, thean, thann' thann-uh, than, than, thin, they rich in the fucking grandfather clock reflection.
Starting point is 00:53:48 It's like, hey, there's a knife over there. Hey, the knife. Hey, the knife's over there. Hey, there's a knife. Hey, my daughter of murder. And then she stabs Ritchie, oh I don't know, 67,000 times. Yeah. And then she wipes the blood off the knife, like that's an inherited trait. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thi thi thi thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the the the they they they they they. they. they. they. they. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. theeeeeeeea. theeea. thea. theea. they. they. they off the knife, like that's an inherited trait. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I mean, you know, there's always a serial killer thing. Is it nature versus nurture?
Starting point is 00:54:13 It's getting hit in the head when you're a kid. A lot of serial killers suffered head trauma when they were children. Richard Ramirez got hit with a wooden swing right in the back of the dome. And we'll look at him now. Oh, he's been dead for years. Yeah. Yeah. And that's what happens. The end. Yeah, for Wes. There's like some Sydney flipping over some stairs with the coast face and it's all just basically a recreation of the end, the climactic scene from the first movie in the same set. But we've done this before, we did it in four, we like, we just did it. We just did it. Never fuck with the dart over serial killers.
Starting point is 00:54:51 I really think this is meant to like, replace that? Yeah. Because they kept bringing up the requl, which is a term I'd also never heard before. And I hope never to hear again to hear to hear to hear to hear to hear to hear to hear again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again again. Yeah, I did not like. Yeah. Um... It was just all of their conversations about like... Well, fans are torn on what the terminology is, and it's like, do people really talk like this? I don't get into like... I think the internet does. I don't think people do, but I think the internet does.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Just as a zeitge didn't notice that. I did see the Mindy survive. Yeah. Wow, after getting stabbed in the dick, huh? Or thigh. I mean, maybe his dick hit his thigh and that's where they hit him, but I don't know. You're thinking of a jackass where they staple. Uh, then, uh, the end, right? For West, the most meta thing you could ever have imagined.
Starting point is 00:55:47 And Tara, uh, shoots, uh, Amber and says, I still prefer Babaduke. And I was like, yeah, hard agree. I'd rather watch Baba Duke than these movies. Yeah. But it's not Baba Duke versus these movies. It's like, Baba Duke versus a slasher. And it's like, why do we have to to, to, to be a verses? We don't need to do a march madness of horror movies. Yeah. Although, no, we did a march madness of witches that you did that one time. That was great.
Starting point is 00:56:13 I like that. And then, uh, it says the end for the end for Wes. Why they make it for that the that kid. What do you think of this movie, Alan? Strong four. Strong four for this movie. Yeah. I'm gonna give it a three and a half because I like to let you win. Thank you. I did know it was a competition but I appreciate it. Yeah. Honestly, fuck it. Like why did you make this? I guess it was to pull fans back in after they lost them in four? But then they made a movie about pulling fans back in after they lost them in stab eight. Yeah. It's just, it's too clever and not clever enough by half, you know? Are they going to start doing stab movies? I would like to watch those. I would like to watch those. I imagine they'll be like scary movie, which I've never seen. I would like to watch those. I would like to watch those. It'll be like a thing that I've never seen. So I could watch this. I would watch the scary movie if we ever want to do one. Aren't the Wayans in those? Yeah, if I remember they are wildly homophobic. Oh, fuck that. I don't know. Yeah. You know what
Starting point is 00:57:16 this movie could have used more of? What? Wrestling? I think everyone could use more wrestling, don't you? I do, I do. I think everyone should do more wrestling. Is there a way people can watch wrestling in the comfort of their own home? There's a lot of ways that people can watch wrestling in the comfort of their own home, but what if they want to watch like really fun, really nice, not shitty wrestling? And Pittsburgh-based. They could they could watch enjoy wrestling, who I guess at this point their live show has already taken place so you will not be able to attend, but you can watch it on episodes on their YouTube channel, Enjoy Wrestling. This is their Renegade is the name of this series that they're doing that will be airing
Starting point is 00:57:59 on their YouTube channel April 21st through May 5th. And you can watch J.D Drake versus My Neighbor and Yours, but mostly mine. that. But, but, but, but, but th. I can still fucking make that promise. Because all of those wrestlers are so fun to watch. Yeah, it'll be a good time. Yeah. If you go to enjoy dash wrestling.com, that's enjoy dash wrestling. that com, you can go to other social media's, you'll find a link to their YouTube. There's a link tree. You know how we love a link tree. I only found out what a link tree was when you made us one. Yeah, I liked it. So go check it out. And there are
Starting point is 00:58:47 friends. Yeah, yeah. And we should be, I believe we sponsored one of the matches as well. Yeah, you may see our name in there. Which is very exciting. Very exciting. I'm practically halk Hogan. You practically are. Can you do the thing? What's the thing? You don't want to rip that shirt. That's a good shirt. It is my weird Halloween shirt where it says things like, get together with your scream team and scream.
Starting point is 00:59:14 I like the fucking creep. Consume peas and milk. What? What? Did you get that from T public? . What? What? Did you get that from T-Public? Uh, threadless. This was a threadless fine someone sent me a link for and we're like, I think you would like this, and I was like, I'm sorry, I've already ordered that. What are you talking about? Sorry, here's my credit card.

Starting point is 01:00:45 and have your response here, but maybe you can get in touch. Is it weird if Alan and I are wearing the same shoes? Let me know. As Alan, I will say definitely not. But we're too, we're too close to the issue. Joe, thank you so much for that you're here. I'm glad that the AV Club thing didn't. What was, oh, what was it? So sad.
Starting point is 01:01:46 Katie asked me a question. What do we do next week? We're gonna do a Toby whoop, whoop, whoop, boo-boob. Toby, Hoop or boobie that neither of us have ever seen. What's it called? It's called Eaton Live. What's it about? I don't know. I am a crazy veterans Backwoods Hotel comes to comes complete with a hungry hungry crocodile. Fuck yes. All right I'm on board 1976. I am really in for that. That's so I thought it was going to be zombies and I was like, fine. But now a crocodile I'm incredibly psyched. You know how much I love frogs. You know how much I hated crawl. I'm here for reptiles. I'm here for reptiles. So you're hoping in 1976. There is a chance of Sam Elliot sidepipe in this movie.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Our frogs amphibians are reptiles. I'm thinking they're amphibians. They're amphibians. I've got it. I've fucked it all all up. It's fine. They're all scaly and slimy and gross. Yeah. Yeah. I don't f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f f.
