Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast - Episode 393- Flatliners (1990)

Episode Date: August 29, 2022

In this week's episode, we're wrapping up college month with the 1990 semi-collegiate, semi-horror film "Flatliners." Yowza. Special topics for your consideration include: a trip around the Baldwin fa...mily tree, the not-so-ethnic Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts' hair (of course), a look into Pirates' baseball history, and possibly the greatest version of "in a world of , be a " that we've ever come up with. Want more Kiefer Sutherland? You'll need Episode 136- "The Lost Boys." Want to see his dad's butt? That'd be Episode 47- "Don't Look Now" and I'm sorry but I can't pass up a chance to recommend looking at Donald Sutherland's butt. Looking more for some Kevin Bacon? Check out Episode 184- "Tremors" and perhaps more importantly, in one of the finest death scenes of all time, Episode 141- "Friday the 13th." Fantastic work by your neighbor and mine but mostly mine, Tom Savini. Hey, give us a call and leave us a voicemail! You can call 412-407-7025 and let us hear your sweet sweet voices. Starting point is 00:00:00 Katie. Alan. Today is a beautiful day to podcast. Can I tell you something about that? Okay, so several years ago, I want to say maybe like 2012. Yeah. The Pittsburgh Pirates, the hapless baseball team that owns my heart and also makes me want to say maybe like 2012, 2011 maybe, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the hapless baseball team that owns my heart and also makes me want to die.
Starting point is 00:00:30 I understand you often hate them and love them. I love them and I hate them. And that's just how it goes. They, for their fall instructional league, which is a thing they put on for prospects basically to get them ready for spring training if they, you know, to prepare for potentially being on the major league roster. They had a bunch of ex-Navy seals come in and do like a Navy seal boot camp in which they had them all chanting Hokka Hay, it's a good day to die. What? And one of our top prospects at the time, Gregory Polanco, who turned out to be a tot tot very likable guy, like busted up his ankle because he was doing something where he had to run through like an icy pool and then jump over like hurdles.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Just to make sure, this is the same game that Babe Ruth played. Baseball, yeah. This is a game that a fat man was very successful. They were like waking them up in their dorms at like 5 a.m. screaming, Hoka, hey! Which is all I could think about while watching this movie. Oh, what movie are we talking about? Your choice? I did use this. I did use this.
Starting point is 00:01:41 In my defense. Julia Robert's hair? For sure, let's go with that. I was 16 when I last saw this movie. Okay. And I remember it being good. It opened for me on a Pekok with a ad for Hepsi medication. I was like, well, this is a good bummer for me. It's 5.45 in the morning today. 5.5 this morning to get up early to watch it. Thank you for your service. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:02:07 I'm a little resentful about it, even though it's not the movie's fault, it's my own poor planning because I had to go see the Pittsburgh Pirates lose last night. That's why. They fucking lost boys. This movie is directed by the director, Joel Schumacher, of the Lost Boys fame. Yeah, the Lost Boys and like everything else between 1978 and 1995 maybe? Yeah, of the very bnipled Batman series. Oh, that was him. Yeah, I believe so. Why give him nipples? It was funny. I mean, I'm pretty sure he did it because it was funny. Okay, that is funny.
Starting point is 00:02:47 And then we start getting the cast, which is like, Billy Baldwin. Like, is he the crazy one? No, that's Stephen. Yeah, Stephen is the one who has become a skateboarding preacher. Skateboarding preacher? And like a right-wing guy, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And like a right wing guy, yeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Still outside. Good to be on the porch. And Kiefer Sutherland. Ah, it's so hunky. You know, he's got good angles and bad angles on this one, I think. So I'm sure I brought this up before, but there were a bunch of people when I was younger who told me I looked like you for some light. I could absolutely see that. You've got those cheekbones and that light hair
Starting point is 00:03:25 and the blue eyes. Yeah. It's very funny. And I told Missy then, she's like, absolutely not. I was like, come on a little bit. You should have put on your dangly earring. Man, we are not far from your 50th birthday. I will go with you and an and an and th you and th you and th you and th you and th you and th you and th you and th you and th you and th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And to to to to to to th. And I will go to to to to to to to to to told told told told told told told told told told told told told told told told told told told. And I. And I. And Iraceo. Famous Italian. Famous Italian. Famous Italian. Noted Italian American. Kevin Bacon. We've got the one... A fine
Starting point is 00:03:52 Pennsylvania. I know I often talk about them who would be the most famous Pennsylvania? Where is he from in Pennsylvania? Philly? His dad was like planned the city. Oh, okay. Oh, okay. That's why they it Baconville. Yeah. Do they really? No. Okay. I don't know. We've got Oliver Platt. Yeah. Who doesn't love seeing Oliver Platte and things. And Julia Roberts. Julia Roberts. Yeah. The movie opens with Keepher walking out to watch the sunrise, over whatever lake that is outside of Chicago and says... Which one do you think it is? It's Chicago?
Starting point is 00:04:29 Okay. The Chicago Lake? No, you've got it. Go ahead. I don't know. I'm not answering any questions after the Jay the Pinkett Smith debacle. Oh, that was last a week's fine it's over. And he says, today's a beautiful day to die or today is a good day to die. Okay. Okay. Then we cut to this movie is all very quick cuts to
Starting point is 00:04:55 this, to that, to this, yeah. We cut to Kevin Bacon, bringing in like an emergency room case. He's like I'm doing the surgery.. the surgery to the surgery to the surgery to to the surgery to the sa sa sa. to the sa. toe th. th. toe. the sstyli. thi. thi. thi. toe. thi. toe. to be to be to be to be thi. thi. today. today. today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. Today. It's tod, tod, tod, tod. Today. Today. It's tod, tod, tod. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's a today. today, today, today, today, today, today, today, today, today's today's today's a today. today. tod, I'm doing the surgery. And I was like, doing surgery with that haircut. I know it's a stylistic choice, but why is he doing it in the hospital from the cabinet of Dr. Caligari? I don't know. It's modern day Chicago. It's all wild angles and arches. Yes. Oh, we got to cut him or something. I don't even know what's happening right now. Someone just bust into the room like Labracea. th. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I something. I don't even know what's happening right now. I don't know. Someone just busting the room like, La Bratio, which I just, I lost my fucking mind about. Okay, we need an Italian for this movie. How about that kid from Footloose? No, no, no. Can you imagine Stallone in that role later? He's like, your dad's in a great place. Cut too. to Oliver Platt talking. And doing his. Can you imagine Stallone in that role later? He's like, you're dad's in a great place. Cut to Oliver Platt talking and doing his memoirs into a handheld recorder.
Starting point is 00:05:52 I feel like Oliver Platt does not get enough to do in this movie. No, no, no. He's like, I don't feel like Oliver Platt would hang out with these dorks. No, I was shocked to see him involved in this caper. I thought he he th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thi thi. thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to too. too. too. too too too too too too to to to be tho tho tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. to. to. toge. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. too. to too. this caper. I thought he would be the oldest of them all. Bacon. Bacon by like 10 years. Yeah. Yeah. Still looks like a little baby. Which is wild because to me like Kiefer Sutherland and Billy Baldwin particularly look old to me. They look like my age now, like 38. Right. But they're not, they're 23, 24. Yeah. Yeah. Why did people look older in the 80s and 90s? I don't know. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. the, th. th. the, the, the, the, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the the the to. the the the the the the. they're 23, 24. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why did people look older in the 80s and 90s? I don't know. Julia Roberts does not.
Starting point is 00:06:27 She looks like a small baby child. Yeah, I don't think she's that great in this movie though. She's fine, but she's also like... She's not a lot to do either. It's fucking. how amazing her hair is and her lips. And her eyebrows. Yeah. I think it's her whole face, honestly. Yeah, she's really pretty. But that hair.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Whom! I wrote here, I don't remember writing this because it was so early. I don't know why I have an anti-Julia Roberts bias. But I do. Hmm, interesting. I just don't think she about that one where she plays the lady who's a whistleblower? Seen that one? Was that the one where she's a lawyer with her tits out?
Starting point is 00:07:09 I think so. Yeah, maybe parts of it. Yeah. And that's the end of Julia Roberts. Yep. I think movies about weddings. Sure. she's been in some of those. Sure, yeah. I did ask Missy if she thought she was the poor man Sandra Bullock. Ooh I bet Missy strongly disagreed with that. She's
Starting point is 00:07:32 the very different. Very different. You're an idiot. I'm worried she can hear us right now because she's just on the other side of the window from us. Hey Missy. Missy, okay good. She's watching her teen shows. I like learning about teen stuff from your over 50 partner. She loves that never have I ever show. We watch this? She loves it. This is great. I don't like it's for children. Teens love drama. Yeah, I think she's watching Indian Matchmaker. I don't know what that is. It's a show about an Indian Matchmaker. Great. So yeah we get Billy Baldwin being a creep. Yeah so they're doing like a cadaver project at school. And first of all Julia Roberts really needs to
Starting point is 00:08:19 put her hair in a pony before she digs into that man. It is disgust. That is unsanning. I mean I know he's dead but like you cannot just be shedding hairs into people. Listen you think that hair sheds? th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thinks? thinks thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi their their thi thi thi. So thi. So th. So th. So their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah disgust. That is unsanited. I mean, I know he's dead, but like you cannot just be shedding hairs into people. Listen, you think that hair sheds? You don't think so? You think she's a hair she's had since she was a baby? Yeah. Yeah. The hair's just a hair she's had. Yeah. The hair is just like, I'm not moving. And Billy Baldwin. And Blylain, what do you think th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi th thi thi thi thi thin thin thin thin thin th th thin thin thin thin' thin' that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi. I th. I's thi. I's th. I's th. He's th. He's th movie is gross to her except for Oliver Platin. Yeah. Yeah. And so we learned the Kiefer Sutherland has something he wants their help with and he's begging her to do the injections and IV. Which is like any of them, they're doctors, any of them can do an injection or an IV, right? This is true. Yes. This is true. Yes, I agree. But he needs her because she's the best at injections in IVs. It would appear so. Yes. And so the professor, the doctor professor, Dr. Doctor, is talking to them
Starting point is 00:09:15 about how there's only so many A's and so many B's to go around because... Is that a thing that happens? I, there's like, I remember in college there being like curve grading. Yeah. It was like the person, if the exam was particularly challenging, that whoever got the highest score would then scale up to a hundred and then everyone else would scale from there. But no. But you all just agree to bomb the test and everyone does. Everyone gets a hundred. But the, the doctor, doctor is like, just like in real life you'll be in direct competition with each other?. And I? And I? And I? And, and, and, if? th. And, if? th. And, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if, if the the, if the, if the exam, if the exam, if, if, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if the exam, if, if, if the Doctor Doctor is like, just like in real life, you'll be in direct competition with each other. And I was like, is that what doctor is? And then she threw a bunch of scabbles on the ground and said no one leaves this room
Starting point is 00:09:52 alive. Oh my God! Oh, that must have been in a different cut that I have. I was probably in one of Missy's teen shows. You know what I'll never be able to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do the to do to do the car across the street from some people who are recording a podcast? He's probably got a turnaround. This is a good turnaround spot. Yeah. I think people see the curve on my street and go, oh no, no, no, I gotta turn around.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Yeah, I won't go up there. Could be trolls. Could be orbs. I'll never be able to think think think think think to to to to to think to to to think to to to to to think to to to think think that says Dave to me. Dave La Bratio. I can't stop. We see Billy Baldwin being an absolute scumbag in filming himself fucking a woman unbeknownst her. Right, in a 12-second scene because every scene is 12 seconds. Yeah, Schumacher's on the move. Yeah. That's not true, because I feel like there are 30 seconds still shots of statues. Sure, I don't really get what those are about. I think they're just set in the mood. It's Gothic, look at all these statues. Okay. You get it? You get it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:56 He's a very stylized filmmaker. Sure. Doing his thing. Yeah. Did Kefer Sutherland and Julia Roberts get married after this? We're they together? I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. Yeah. I th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thee. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. Sure, thi. Sure. Sure. Yeah, yeah. Did Kiefer Sutherland and Julia Roberts get married after this? One day together? I think so. Interesting. It's a pretty couple. He seems like a real asshole. Oh yeah, not like his dad, the best guy ever. Remember that sex scene? Not a week goes by that I don't think of Donald Southerlin's butt in, don't look now. Just grinding away. Grinding? So yes, they are setting it up that Kiefer Sutherland is going to kill himself. Right, medically. Medically, with their help, and then he's going to be gone for a minute and they're going to bring him back.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Right, so he can see what's on the other side. Even though Julia Roberts appears to be running a support group of some kind for people who have died and come back, so why can't we just take their words for it? But it's like, is this what medical school is? But it's like, is this what medical school is? I don't think so. Right. She's very interested in what happens when you thin, their thinnec-s, all, all, all, all, all, all, all, all, all, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, to to to to to be, to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to to to be to be to be to be to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, to to to to, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi. thi. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi. thi. thi.? I don't think so. They're all very interested in making a name for them. Sure. Which I didn't think was also doctory, but I guess it is. I guess so. At one point they're like, don't you want to be on 60 minutes?
Starting point is 00:12:13 And it's like, nobody wants to be on 60 minutes? What are you talking about? Do you get on 60 minutes for something good at this point I'm going to say no. He hands them each a letter saying this absolves you of responsibility. Sir, that's not how laws work. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Do you get notarized? Oh, I guess it's notarized. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:33 A letter of absolution. Yep. Got it from a priest. So, Joy Robert shows up, Dr. Manus, Dr. Rachel Manus. So he has this big elaborate plan that he explains on how they're going to flatline him and then Bacon comes running in because he didn't want to do it but he's got to do it because they're buds. Why would they be buds that they're not buds? This is what you do for your bro.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Dave Labrachio comes in. And so they, it becomes like a sort of chaotic scene where someone someone, thia, thia, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, they're they're thi, thi, they're becomes like a sort of chaotic scene where someone's like, you're killing him! And it's like, yes, that's what's... You just, you just agreed on this. Like, was I not paying attention to the instructions or did that seem counterproductive? And then I just write, I'd like it if he should himself. Because he would, wouldn't you? I don't think it happens every time someone dies. It'll happen to me, I'm sure of it. I'm counting on it. I'm betting. They get to brain death.
Starting point is 00:13:30 She was like, that's bad, right? You're not supposed to let that happen. I wouldn't think that it would be good for your brain on the flip side, which is basically the plot of this movie, I guess, yeah. Keifer's eye and keep zooming and zooming until he get into his old brain hole. His old brain pan. Where he's flying over some marigolds or something? Yeah field of Bali. God I wish Sting was in this movie. Or the second season of a spoiler alert. I know only murder building the sting. I like that they write like purposefully write sting out there like he moved out and you're like oh so we're flying over we see a tree and kids running and they're running with
Starting point is 00:14:14 streamers and it seems very ideal like there's a dog barking yeah and then the sky starts to turn dark dark skies and then we're flying over the tree again, and we see him getting chest compressions. Right. So, bringing him back. And now there's a kid in a hoodie and a corridor. Billy Mahoney. The number of times I wrote, yeah, fuck him up, Billy Mahoney. Yeah, fuck him up.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Obnachty. I want to see the naming generator for this movie. Billy Mahoney. Nelson Wright. David Labracio. Labraceo. Labraceo. Because later there's a fallacio joke.
Starting point is 00:14:52 And I was like, did you seriously fucking call him that just to make that joke later? Rachel Manis. Yeah, they bring him back to life and then suddenly they're outside all wearing the longest of coats. And very triumphant. Yes. Do you think long coats will come back in the style? I think they are. I like a long coat. Yeah, I bet you do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:13 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, and they go to get him food? Right. And he's like describing this to Billy Baldwin where he's like I can hear This under the sound of the street. I can hear the street lights humming and then I hear a dragging sound and I can feel it Very disturbing very disturbing, but he loves it. Yeah. It's like that's good spookery. Yeah, and then he sees the graffiti in the alley turns into a million candy man paintings on the wall. Sure does. And he sees Champ, his childhood dog, dragging its hindquarters. Why, though? Because as we find out later, the tree branch that Billy Mahoney was on fell, broke, and it hit the dog. Wow!
Starting point is 00:16:03 Champ survived and Billy Mahoney died. I don't think Champs survived. I think he lasted for a little while. I see. Yeah. I was just thinking that Champ was an apropos name. For making it through? I mean, live longer than Billy Mahoney. Yes. That's mean, I don't know why I'm saying that, like it's funny. Notoriously, we'd go, Billy Mahoney. Couldn't even live longer than a dog. No. Dogs don't even live that long, Billy Mahoney. So we see Billy Baldwin then in his apartment.
Starting point is 00:16:39 I don't even know what his name is, Billy Baldwin, Joe, I think. Oh, I only refer to any of them by their actual names. Same. And he has just a cabinet full of sex tapes, but she's not hiding it anyway. And I wrote, does she not visit? No, apparently not. Well, that's a very, it's a very dumb thing to do. She needs to get a car because he watches their engagement video. Yeah. then calls her. Yeah, and I recognize that actors but I don't know from where Okay, her name is Dut to do do hope Davis A strong name. Yeah, but she's been another stuff that I've seen. Yeah Because I was like, oh, I know you girl. I know you and so he calls her and he's like, I miss you and she's like, I you, too. And we all know that he's a fucking sex-pest pervert.
Starting point is 00:17:25 He has been doing, he's a boo-man. Yeah. Um, her name is Anne Couldren. Coldren? Yeah. Why? All right. And then we see this weird dream sequence for Billy Baldwin.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Wait, has he already gone under at this point? Oh, I wish I had written it down if he had. Yeah, I didn't either. Because this is where I have the note that Billy Baldwin got pencil and eraser nips. Wow. It's got some big old nips. I didn't even notice. That's normally something I would catch. Oh, I think this must be when he... No, because he hasn't gone under yet.
Starting point is 00:18:10 This is just a dream that he's having, I guess. Okay, what's he dreaming? About sexy ladies. Oh, right. That's when I decided he was a boob lady lady. Yeah. A boohehe. Right, right, right, right. And then he had a sexy lady dream and he comes back and he's like, no, it was just sexy ladies, it was great.
Starting point is 00:18:27 I loved it. Right. The waitress at the restaurant that they're at, that is like a giant ballroom with a table just in the center. Yeah, but all the chairs are up on the other tables. It's like maybe it's time for you to fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking fucking, to fucking, to fucking, to fucking, to fucking, to fucking, gotta do something to upstage those fucking baby boomers. And I was like, wait, are you, you're pretty close though. Like Kevin Bacon had to have been born in the 50s, right? No, he was born in...
Starting point is 00:18:55 No, of course not. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait. Yeah. Is that me? I'm a baby boomer. I don't, I never know how those things work. I think he's a baby boomer. I think I'm Gen X.
Starting point is 00:19:11 You are. Yeah. I think you're... I'm a millennial. I'm an elder millennial. Gen Z. I had a better skin. Everybody keeps outbidding Julia Roberts. Because they're all basically like trying to one up each other on how long they're willing to stay under.
Starting point is 00:19:30 So I have a question. Yeah. I'm basing this solely on the lost boys and this movie. And this movie. Joel Schumacher doesn't know how to put women in movies? No, what's the point though? Like what's the, you tell me, why, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're casting, th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, thi, like, thi, like, like, th. th. they, like, like, like, like, like, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, the, th... th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. thi, they're, like, they point though? Like why would you have women in your movies? Well just like, like what's the, you're casting a woman, you're casting a woman, you're casting a woman, you're casting, why would you cast a woman? I mean, I want someone to be the object of sexual desire? Okay, that's a woman. Yeah, and then to mother people. Yeah, that's what women do. Okay, okay. You fuck them and them them them them. Oh, and them. Oh, and them. Oh, them. Oh, them, them, they they they they, they, they, they, you. Oh, you're, you're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're you're you're you're you're you're you're you. Oh, you're you. Oh, you. Oh, you. Oh, you. Oh, you. Oh, you. Oh, you. Oh, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're, you're. Oh, you're, you're, you're. Oh, you're, you're, you're. Oh, you're, you're the. Oh, you're the. Oh, you're the. Oh, you're the the the the the the the the the the tas. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their. Yeah. Okay. I mean I don't know. That's all I need. Yeah. So, she's like having
Starting point is 00:20:09 this conversation with Kevin Bacon. Yeah. Because he's an atheist. He is. Where he's like maybe there's some sort of hormone that the brain releases at the time of death that makes it more palatable. And she's like, great theory. Yeah, she's like, that's a stretch. Holy God, that's a stretch. And you're th. Is th. Is th. Is it th. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. Is it. the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. the. So. So. So. the. the. the. So. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the time of death it makes it more palatable and she's like great theory. Yeah, she's like that's a stretch holy god that's a stretch you're like is it and also these tests you're doing won't prove or disprove that there's a hormone the brain releases because you're not testing anything and also how is there's an afterlife less of a stretch than your brain being like hey I'm gonna help you through this yeah yeah I don't the the the the brain I don't the brain I the brain. the brain. the brain. the brain. I the the brain. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. t. t. t. t. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te going to help you through this. Yeah, yeah. I don't want this to be as awful as it should be. Right. And brains do that in various situations to release hormones to stop pain.
Starting point is 00:20:49 You ever been in a really violent car accident? No, but I've given birth to a human. And I've been in a head on collision. And I do not remember it. Really? Because your brain's like. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. the brain is is that. the brain is that. that's the brain is that. that. the brain is that. that's the brain is that. that's that's that that that that that that that that that the brain is just that that that that that that that that that that that to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the the the the the brain is the brain is the brain is the brain is the brain is the brain is the brain. the brain. the brain. the brain. the brain. the brain. the brain. the brain. the the brain. the brain. the brain. the the the to to gave birth to a human. You did. And then the it was in excruciating pain. I can't imagine. And then the moment I saw her I was like, oh it doesn't hurt? Doesn't hurt anymore. Doesn't hurt anymore. Your brain's just like, I love you. Blu-bue, bleu. And that's what I realize that women should be treated well. Oh what? Oh what? What? That's what every,- I know. I know. You're like, now that you've had a daughter, you're like, as the friend of a woman with a daughter?
Starting point is 00:21:29 Not the friend of that same-said woman. But the fact that she had a daughter makes me... Maybe you're really friends with Rob. As is a friend of a man who has a daughter. I spend so much time with you. I'm really fri-frizzed with Rob. It's just my long con to get in tighter with Rob. Look what you've done.
Starting point is 00:21:55 So we get Keepher walking home after the bidding war where Julia Roberts gets outbid. He's losing it, right? Yeah. Oh, I do have a note here. He's losing it, right? Yeah. Oh, I do have a note here. I'm such a weirdo about hair. I just have a note that says her hair, hubbub-hubb. It is, it is a lot.
Starting point is 00:22:13 It is very voluminous. There's something about a voluminous head of curly hair that just like, does it for me. I think it's because, you, you, you, you, you, you, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, thi, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, because, I, I, I, I. th. th. th. th. th, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. thi. th. th. to th. to th. thi. to th. th. to th. th. thi. th. thi. the 80s. Yeah for sure. When sexy ladies had huge curly hair. Tony Catain was like, yeah, RIP. Say a lot to heaven. Oh man. Did you forget that she passed away? I did. Yeah. Every time you bring it up, it's fresh to me. I'm sorry. I just keep feeling the scab off your Tony Cotain wound. Which board? I feel like any bit of creepiness that is building with the kid in the sewer tunnel and Kiefer Sutherland's imagination is kind of being lost by Kiever Sutherland incessantly talking.
Starting point is 00:22:51 Like I can't imagine that all of that was written for him to say and he just kept saying it. Hey, Billy, Billy, hey, hey, where are you? Jamp? Champ, champ. But I do really like when he's, he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, when he's, th, that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that, that, that that that that that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thi. the. the, th. th, champ, champ. Really? But I do really like when he's like walking through the alley where the unhoused people are and the one woman is like talking to herself and she just turns around she's like, isn't that right Nelson? That's right.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Oh, that's good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that kid kicks the shit out of him. Beats the living piss out of him. I have to say, I love a little kid beating the shit out of an adult. There was, what was the movie we did recently where there was like a kid stabbing someone in a bed, perhaps with an axe and I was like, I got to see more
Starting point is 00:23:32 of that. I don't remember. Child's play. Would that it was. What I'd really love is what you find out later is that there is no kid? And he's just th th th th th th. I th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the thi thi. the theat the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi thi thi thi the the the theeeat theat theat theat theat theeat theat theeeeat theeeeat the the kid yeah and he's just been kicking the shit out of himself that's very funny I was like can we please see those scenes can we just watch him being the shit? When they do show him doing it you're like ha ha ha ha ha so so we see him sort of like maybe later that night or the next morning and he's doing stitches on his own face yeah I just like the idea of like getting one thi th of the the the the the the the the the the the th you the the th you th you th you th of th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I the the the the. I the. I'm the. I'm the. I the. I'm just the. I'm just the. I the. I the. I the. I the. I the. I the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the. I the. I'm just just just just just the. I'm just teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I'm just just just just the of like getting one of your friends to bring you back to life but just like not letting them do the stitches. You know, I don't trust you on this. It's my face. That's my moneymaker.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Yeah. So it's Halloween morning. Yeah. And we see Billy Baldwin macking it to. And he's using that shared experience seemingly to try and sleep with her. Yeah, because he's a grosso. Yeah. I don't, he doesn't look right to me.
Starting point is 00:24:34 He falls into that thing where like, you know a much more famous version of him, which is his brother, Alec. Sure. And so then he looks like a weird someone tried to draw Alec Baldwin from memory and that's what they ended up with. Yeah, you're right. Kirkland signature. Kirkland's signature, Alec Baldwin. It's like when the Corkland's signature, like when the Colchkin kids were younger and they're like,
Starting point is 00:24:56 like a the Calkin kids were younger and they all sort of look like Macaulan. And they all sort of look like regular people now? Yeah okay I got to see here and it'd be like oh yeah you're just a regular dude anyway. The Cochran paradox. Yeah I got it. And so it's Halloween morning we get a Billy Baldwin is now seeing himself on the TV. And the women will turn around himself on the TV, having sex with women and the women will turn around to the TV and go, why'd you do this? Yeah. You're a dick.
Starting point is 00:25:33 You said you loved me. Yeah. Yeah. So, then we get, I don't know, a flashback of Kevin Bacon as a child, bullying a young girl. Yes. Which this movie is like, okay, all these people have to deal, you even get that? That's right, I'll get it. Is it your knife?
Starting point is 00:25:52 Yeah. All these people have to deal with something in their past. Right. And it's like Julia Roberts is thanks. their today, the other two are just bullies. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thoom. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. So, th. So, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to. to. to. to. to. to, the. to. the. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th.. And they were like, and the other two were just bullies, like not just bullies, but like couldn't you have differentiated them in some way? Like couldn't you've come up with something different other than bullying? Well technically one is a murder bully and the other one is just I made someone's like day pretty shitty. Yeah, and then got, and then got get low stuck in my head all day. Because I never I never, and th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th, and th, and th, and th, and th, and th, and th, and th, and th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, couldn't th, couldn't you've th, couldn't you've the, couldn't you've thi, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, thi, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, th, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, th, couldn't, th, couldn't, th, couldn't, couldn't, couldn't, th, couldn't, th, couldn't, couldn't, th, thi, couldn't thi, couldn't thi, thi, thin, the, the, the, the the the the the thea, the the thea, the thea, thea, thi, thi, couldn't you thethat's what that 369 reference was. 369, damn, you're fine, hoping she gets like it to me one more time, get low,
Starting point is 00:26:30 get low, get low, get low. I've never heard it before. So we see, I love that Joel's True Mocker's like, I'm making a movie, there's gonna be a party scene. Yeah. It's not gonna have anything to movie, there's gonna be a party scene. Yeah. It's not gonna have anything to do with the rest of the movie. No. Those lyrics of the song that are playing appear to be Party Town, Party Town. Yeah, what's the name of the band?
Starting point is 00:26:52 I thought you loved Party Rock. I do. And it reminded me of a Maxipad song called Dr. What's the name of the fan? Three out of four doctors? Excuse you. Mr. Cool Shoes! I hope that a lot of people went to listen to them on Swatify and they're like, who are you getting all these hits from? That's the Ambulus Bump Baby. Making them famous. Making them famous. We're changing the name of the podcast to Mr. Cool Shoes. Mr. Coolsoo is up. So, but I really like the Halloween party like in the streets.
Starting point is 00:27:34 Yeah. There's like a big bonfire. People riding bikes dressed as pumpkins with sheets on. It's very cute. One of them is dressed as a skeleton and another says, what are you supposed to be Boner man? And I thought like, oh, BRB gonna be boner man for Halloween. Well, it's funny because the one that's dressed as a skeleton is the sex best. Oh, right, boner man. And then someone says, the musky mist of death?
Starting point is 00:27:58 Yeah. What is that? I think it's key for, I don't know. Because he's just getting weird now. He's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. too, too, too, too. too, too, too, too, too, too, to be. to be. to be. to be, to be, to be, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. to. to. to. to. th. to. th. th. to. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, too. And, too. And, too. And, too. And, too. And, too. And, too. And, the. And, th. weird now. He's like, I don't know, like, what if he didn't make it back? Would you miss him, Rachel? Oh God. Because he's now jealous that like, there's some sparks flying between Julia Roberts and Kevin Bacon. Right, and she's notoriously frigid. Right, exactly. Or she just doesn't like Kie for Sutherland or Billy Baldwin, both of whom seem to be pests in different ways. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:25 He's down for three minutes. And when he comes back he says, Hokahaye. Good day to die. Sorry Gregory Polanco. I hurt that ankle. And then they start bidding again. Yeah. And then they start bidding again.
Starting point is 00:28:38 When someone goes up to 425 Well yeah. It's a long time to be dead. I mean I wouldn't choose it. Yeah, I mean, what's your time? How long are you going under for? I mean, if I'm going to be dead, I hope that that's the end. Oh, okay. You know? You're not going to do the funzi's death just just for just for kicks. What if you go there and likethen you bring back the full-size twiks. Wait, do I have to come back then? Yeah, the only way you can have the twiks. I don't understand. Because they're gonna put you under? You're gonna go into the afterlife.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Oh, I have to obtain it in the afterlife. And then you come back with a full-sized twi-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-skkwix-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the twix that they don't make anymore? I don't want that. What? I want a sharing size, chunky bar. Chunky bar! Chunky the one with raisins in it? Yeah, I love it. Peanuts, too. Oh, I love that as a kid.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Whenever I find them anywhere, I'm like, chunky bar or the chunky bar. It's merely chunky bar. Love them. Chunky bar. Anyway, yes, now Julia Roberts is under. Well, don't keep her has to get beat with the hockey stick first. Oh right, yes. God, I love a kid kicking the shit out of an adult. And when Julia Roberts has this old lady friend at the hospital, why are there, do they really put people in beds all in a big gymnasium like that in non-war times......... times. times. times. times. times. times. times. times. times. times. their. their. their. their. to. to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to. their. are they, do they really put people in beds all in a big gymnasium like that in non-war times? No. Okay. She's basically just telling this lady she's like, stop hanging on. It's time to go. Let this lady live out her days, Julia Roberts. I don't want to be buried on a Saturday because it cost $150 more. Fair enough. Wo you care You're not flitting the bill? Probably it is. Oh, and this is where Kevin Bacon has his flashback in waking life, where he sees Winnie Hicks on the train calling him Felatio, as well as a thousand other amazing busts. One of which is
Starting point is 00:30:40 Jagoff. Jagoff. Yeah, I like that. But I really think they called him Labracio just to make that fallatio joke later and I think that's a crime. That's a crime. It's a set up and payoff. I so strongly disagree with that. Oh man. So Julia Roberts. Oh she also says you got a match. I do your ass my face. Wait what? Your face matches my ass. Oh, get it. Your face looks like my ass. Oh, I get it. So Julia Roberts goes under, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:31:14 I was thinking a match like, a match made in heaven, you know? Why would I put my ass on your, or my face on your ass? I don't want that. I don't know. Would you put your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your face your. I don't want that. I don't know. Would you put your face in Kevin Bacon's ass? It's what we were doing. Yeah fair. Oh man. So Julie Roberts goes under and he comes running in and he's like, bring her back, bring it back early. It's too spooky and she's a woman and can't handle it. She can handle it because she's a frigid old bitch.
Starting point is 00:31:45 And she says, Kiefer said the one beforehand says to her, do you trust me? And she goes, no, but let's do it anyway. It's like, are you that desperate to die? If so, just kill yourself. Just kill yourself. Her isn't even a weird dream sequence. It's a real bummer. She sees a white Jesus and then her traumatized Vietnam vet dad. Shooting up. Yeah. Which I don't
Starting point is 00:32:14 think we know it first. Yeah but you know. And he falls down the steps no despite being a doctor. Okay gotcha. He falls down the steps running out of the house and her mom says this is all your fault. And then he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he th. And he he th. And th. And th. And th. And th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. thi th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the steps running out of the house and her mom says This is all your fault And then he goes and shoots himself. So that child is scarred. Yeah, no wonder she's so frigid The bloody windshield bullet hole is very good though. I like that a lot. Very good. Yeah. Oh, man, it's such a bummer. So they start talking about like what's happening to them, about seeing things in real life. And one of them's like, maybe it's brain damage. And it's like, of course it's fucking brain damage. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:32:50 I'm not a doctor. I have a degree in history of art and architecture. I think it's fucking brain damage. Doug, if whipt's killing your brain stops. This is like the ultimate whip it, isn't it? But I never saw anything scary. I like to think of this is the God whip it. The God whip it! This movie was called God whipts and not flatliers.
Starting point is 00:33:15 I think I would have liked it better. But it takes her like four minutes to come out because she's really enjoying her dead dead. Jesus Christ. Oh my God. She's in this like terror bathroom. What is this place? What is this bathroom? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:33 I don't know. Oh, when she wakes up, she starts bugging out. Because I have a note that says Robert is Robert. Yeah, Robert. And then we see Kiefer putting new locks the the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thing thing thing thing thing to thing thucks thucks thucks thucks thucks thuffing thu th thu tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th th th th th th th thu th thu to to to to to to thu to to to to to to too too too tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo th're supposed to be to us it's Roberts. Robert. And then we see Kiefer putting new locks on his doors. Yeah. And then he remembers throwing rocks at Billy Mahoney and then he wakes up and gets knocked out. Fuck him up Billy Mahoney. Julia Roberts is sitting your dead dad in the mirror. She wants to run in and tell the older woman who was dying. Not to die. She gets her and she and she and she and she and she and she and she and she, she, she, she, she, and she, and she, and she, and she's, and she's, and she's th, and she's th, th, th, th, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi th tho tho tho tho tho thoes thoes th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th is th is thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu to thu to thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu thu the mirror. She wants to run in and tell the older woman who was dying. Not to die. She gets her and she's like, fuck. Dude you told her to.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Hopefully it's not Saturday you piece of shit. I wanted to tell her the voices were wrong which is like her dramatic line in the movie and I just can't stand it. Then I wanted to be Kevin Bacon and not constantly relive all the shitty things I've done to people throughout my life. Yeah. Because he's like, oh wait, I was really mean to that girl once. Yeah. Calls up her mom, gets her a dress and coa and apologizes to her.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Sure.. just like smile and say thanks to each other? Very sweet. It would be very tense to do that. Oh yeah, yeah. Yeah. Meanwhile, Joe, who is Billy Baldwin, is having, like seeing women on the street, one of which says we don't have to do anything. We can just hold each other in our underwear. I was like, Billy Baldwin likes to dry hump. Who had the time for a medical residency and all these women? Billy Bald? I don't understand that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th th th th th th th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, thi. Who had the time for a medical residency and all these women? Billy Bald. I don't understand that at all. Double B! When he gets back to his
Starting point is 00:35:11 apartment though, Anne is there. Yeah, well he walks the gauntlet of women that he has done shitty things to. And none of them were like, hey, this was an extreme violation of my privacy, but you filming this? They're all just like you said you loved me. One of their they're, they're, they're, their, their, their, their, their, their, th, th. They're, th. They're, th. One of them says, they're basically saying the things that he said back to the tend. And one of them says, we can stop whenever you want, which indicates to me that he assaulted someone. Sure. Yeah. 100%. Yeah. So yes. And then... What does he die? What doesn't anybody die? What does any perma die? I mean? I mean, technically most of them die. They just get brought back with their twiks. And... Just clutching of melting twiks in their hands. Ah!
Starting point is 00:35:52 It just looks like poop! Um, so hope Davis is there waiting for him. Yeah, and cauldron. She's a real witch. I mean, just get the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck the fuck out, Anne. You can do so much better. It's true. Go find another Baldwin. There's a thousand of them. Seriously. There's the real chunky one. There's a bunch of different bald ones. Stephen? Is he the chunky one? No, there's another one. He was in a biodome. Oh yes, I forgot that he was in your Polly Shore films. My Polly Shore because Polly shore is for everyone. I'm I'm nowhere near as close to anyone but you and Rob.
Starting point is 00:36:35 All right fine because you're using Kevin Bacon apologizing to Winnie. Yes. But meanwhile, Kiefer Sutherland has gone with him. Why does he drive, why does Kevin Bacon drive a military style Humvee? Because he's like a, he's like a nature guy guy we see him repelling out of his apartment at one point yeah because it's like a mountain climber there's like in his apartment there's a painting of a mountain that he sleeps under David there's also a bumper sticker that says no noukes on his truck anyway he for Sutherland is waiting in the car but then Billy Mahoney appears with a pickax with a pickax well he's a mountain climber so it's a mountain climber so so so so the the he he he he he he he he so he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he's he's he's he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he he he's he's he's he he he he he he he's he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he he he he's he's he's he's he's he's he's the the the he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he's he he he the car, but then Billy Mahoney appears with a pickaxe. With a pickax.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Well, he's a mountain climber, so it's a mountain climber, so it's a mountain climber. Wait, who's the mountain climber? Uh, Kevin Megan. Oh, okay. Oh, he had it in there already, I see. David Labrachio. Labratio. Labracea.
Starting point is 00:37:36 . Remember when you said the Christmas donkey was racist? Did I? Wait, why is it racist? I don't know, you were just mad at me for bringing it up one day. What's the Christmas donkey? It's like, gigaity gig, and the Christmas donkey. It's like this Italian Christmas song about the donkey. Sorry I got mad. You weren't mad, mad, mad, mad. You were a funny man. Sorry, I got mad.
Starting point is 00:38:05 You weren't mad, mad. You were funny, mad. Mad, mad. Mad, mad now. Yeah, so then we see that Kiefer Sutherland, or Kevin Bacon breaks into his own car to save Kiefer Sutherland, who is attacking his own damn self for the pickaxe. Yeah, he's like, let go. Dumb, dumb. So at this point they all find out that Kiefer Sutherland had suspected something was
Starting point is 00:38:27 wrong after he went under but before Billy Baldwin did and they're all furious with him that he withheld this information. You were ready to die and come back. You had to know there would be consequences. You begged to do this Julia Roberts. How dare you? Wait, your team Kiefer in this situation? I team all of these people are fucking assholes and none of them deserve to actually end up
Starting point is 00:38:48 alive. I feel like Oliver Platt just kind of like, oh, he was just kind of friends with these guys and they told me to come here. Oliver Platt is the exception to what I justatt with a dangly earring. Oh yeah, I think you can make it work. Oh, when we see Joy Roberts and Baldwin and Platt in class and she sees her dad's arm under a sheet and he starts raising up and she screams and runs out of the class. Of course it's going to be your dad. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. So then Kiefer Sutherland takes us to Billy Mahoney.
Starting point is 00:39:27 He's going to find him, which Billy Baldwin just screams, why do we want to find Billy Mahoney? Just laughed at. Kiever Sutherland jumps through a window to nowhere? It appeared to just ends up in a graveyard where Oliver Platt says, this is a graveyard. Yes, Oliver Platt, it is. I see that. They were like, oh he has not a line in a while. Want to know how I knew he was here? Because I put him here. Yes. And this is interspaced with Julia Roberts having the flashback of being in her her childhood home and seeing her dad, in her
Starting point is 00:40:05 childhood home and seeing her dad shooting up. And then the two of them being like, I love you, I love you, too, let's hug in the afterlife. Yeah. Yeah. And also, that she also apparently fucked Kevin Bacon during all this. Yeah, of course it's a weird time to fuck. We all know that horror leads to fucking, the horror, the horror, the horror, the horror, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, and thi, and thi, and thi, and thi, and thi, and thi, and thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi, thin, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, th all know that horror leads to fucking. I guess so. The young... The fear fuck. Everyone's familiar with it. All right, not me, but okay. The young Kever Sutherland is a great casting. He looks just like him. I have to say this
Starting point is 00:40:36 about Billy Mahoney. Yeah. Fine actor. Sure. He scrunches up his face and looks exactly like the kid from a Christmas story who's beating up on Ralphie. And it just takes the the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f the f. the f. the f. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. All th. All th. All thi. All th. All th. All the f. All the f f fared the kid from the Christmas story who's beating up on Ralphie. And it just takes me completely out of the scene like he gets his eyes get way too wild looking. Yeah. Oh Billy Mahoney fuck him up though. Kiever runs out of the cemetery, steals Billy Baldwin's car, drives back and he's gonna flatline himself alone this time. That's just killing yourself, right? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. So, okay. So, so so so. So, so, so. So, so. So, so, so, so. So, so, so, so, so. So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thinks thi thi thi th, th, th, th, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th, and it th, and it th, and it th, and it th, and it th, and it th. And it just takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes takes tha. And it just thi. And Billy Baldwin's car, drives back and he's going to flatline himself alone this time. That's just killing yourself, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Okay. So, the others call Kevin Bacon. Yeah. And they're like, come pick us up and he's like, will you be okay here by yourself? No, why does she not just go with him? Don't leave her there. Yeah. Meanwhile, Oliver Platt says says, says, says, says, says, says, says, says, says, says, says, says, says, that's is is is is is that's, that's, that's. th. that's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the o. the. the o. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. Starting point is 00:41:29 It's like the one comedy beat in the movie and you're like, what? What? Oh, man. So yes, he, he for Sethelan calls Julia Roberts to tell her that he's going to do this, which is just him being like, I'm going under again, what? Don't look for me, look for me, look for me. Hangs up. It's not even an apology. Yeah. It's so silly.
Starting point is 00:41:56 So he goes under and he sees, himself being, as I wrote, this time he's in the tree getting stoned. Yeah. He falls from the tree and now he's falling and he's falling and he's dead in the outer world. Well yes, because he's 78 degrees when they get there, which I think you'd be dead, dead. I don't think that's coming up. I mean, not a doctor again. What? I don't know about doctors. You do run an ambulance. I'm an EMT. That's a lot less specialized training. And then Billy and Tamper like we forgive you. And I meant to write, he hits him again with the paddles when they're doing the like chest shock thing and somehow I got he hits him again with the Padres. Oh, you're baseball. There you go. I thought it was going to be the poodles. I mean a lot of this movie is just hitting someone
Starting point is 00:42:53 with the paddles and being like he's not going to make it and then he makes it you know. Oh man I kind of want to do that at some point. Do like do that like defibrill a def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def def, do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. Do that. They could be awake. Yeah I'll let you defibrillate me. I'm sure my heart condition will be just fine. 50th birthday. Listen, I'll make you a deal. You get the dangly urine. I'll let you hit me with the chest panels. Somebody get this podcast notarized. Legally blonde. Will that kill me? It might. I would never do that. Okay. Ha.. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'll to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to defibulate to defe. I the. I'll let the. I'll let's the. I'll let's the. I let the. I the. I'll let the. I the. I'll let to defibrile. I'll let to defibrillate to that kill me? It might. I would never do that. Hoke, baby. So there's a light, but then Kiva Southerland here's fucking Labrachio being like, come back baby boy. We miss you. But they're all, every time they have to bring somebody back, they're all disagreeing about the process of it.
Starting point is 00:43:45 And someone's just like, no, Rachel, no. It's like just fucking who cares anymore. We ain't a hundred cheese, he's a pee-pee right now. They're like, no, we're not going to do the pee-pee again. That's a truck me there's a god. Fuck you, Joel Schumacher. Yeah, I know. Yeah. He's back. The end. Corny but sweet is my last note.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Yeah, his heart starts beating again. And Kevin Bacon's like, pick up the beat. Pick it up, pick it up, pick it up. Oh, Skawliners. One of the last lines was, it wasn't such a good day to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to good day to die. Manop-ban-a-ba-da-ba-pah-pah. Who boy. So here's a thought I had. Are we too hardened by the world to find the sweet corneeness of this movie endearing?
Starting point is 00:44:36 Or is this just a bad movie? Is there meant to be sweet corneness in this? I think the whole thing at the end of which is, she is, she is, she is, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thi, is, is, is, is, is, is, is...... And, is, is, is, is, is, is thi, is the the the the the thi, the the the the the thi, the the thi, the thi, thi. the the the. the the the thean, the the thi. the thi. to thi, thi, is, thi, this? I think the whole thing at the end of it was, she's like, just live life and love life and laugh. Live, laugh, love. Oh, fuck. I didn't even realize this was the prequel to Eat Pray Love. Wasn't that hurt? Oh my god, it is? Yeah, there you have it. Okay, wait, approaching it from the perspective as a. She's in that Tuscany movie too, isn't she? I don't know what that is. Oh no, that's Diane Lane, sorry. More beautiful hair. Yeah. That lady's I had a crush on in the 80s.
Starting point is 00:45:13 There you go. Oh yeah, I don't know what this movie is. Yeah, no. I would like to go to the ratings phase and find out what it is. Won't you rate it for me? Man, this movie's bad. I remembered it being good, but that I also remember that I was dumb when I was 16. Yeah. Then I was flying high on Kiefer, I was down for whatever he was doing. Sure. He's such a fucking prick in this movie. You just want to run him over.
Starting point is 00:45:37 Like when he dies at the's a genuine disappointment. He... Yes, it's a beautifully shot film. Oh right, because the end is I'm zooming out on all of those paintings and you're like, but why? Because God. Okay. But, uh, it's fucking corny. It's silly. And I don't understand why it got remade a few years ago? Yeah, with like actual actors, too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Um, I mean, another set of bigish names, yeah. No, I'm disparaging the entire cast. What's Kiefer Sutherland ever done that I haven't? Uh, trem? Wait, was he in that? Yes. That Kevin Bacon was in that I haven't. Uh, tremors? Yeah. Wait, was he in that? Yes. That Kevin Bacon was in that.
Starting point is 00:46:28 Oh, Kiefer Sutherland, I'm sorry. What if Kever Southerl and was paying the tremor? What if you just play the worms? Just sticking his head up like, ah, all. Oh, three. Oh, three. Yeah, three. Katie, you know what's not a three. What?
Starting point is 00:46:47 This message for a patron. Oh, tell it to me. Hey! Hi! You can shout out, my name is Bridget. Hey, Bridget. Bridget. Bridget.
Starting point is 00:46:56 I like Bridget already. She's a little sassy. And I guess my message would have to be a shout out to my friend and work wife Emily. Oh, I know Bridget and Emily, they work at the library. Do you? Yeah. For introducing me to wrestling and the podcast. Yeah. Praise her for being the best mom ever ever, which I can't do because I have the best mom
