Starting point is 00:00:25 Yeah, Katie. Alan just turned his hat sideways. I have no idea why. I'm getting fired up. We were being morose before we started. Yeah. Neither of us is super pumped today. But I'm gonna get pumped. I'm gonna get pumped. Yeah. We're being morose before we started. Yeah. Neither of us is a super pumped today, but I'm gonna get pumped. I'm gonna get pumped. Yeah. Because you know why, we're doing a super weird movie. Super pumped movie. It makes you feel good by the end of it. Movie. So we picked this movie because there's a prequel coming out or has just come out? There's a prequel?
Starting point is 00:00:39 Wait, we're talking about black foam, but we could talk about orphan. No, forget it. Next week we're doing orphan. Oh yeah. Morose and bad at our jobs. It's a great combo. Okay, black phone. Hey, let me just pull the different set of notes. Got it. Got it. Boy, still, real doozy of a film. Yeah. Yeah. So we picked this film because it's a more current horror film.
Starting point is 00:01:13 Yes. Trying to get them downloads, trying to get those people to smash that subscribe button. Like and subscribe. Tell your friends. Yeah, and thank fuck this one's under two hours. You... I can't wait to get into it. Okay. What kind of ads did you get on Pecocock?
Starting point is 00:01:33 Oh, did I write anything down? Started right off with a blue mouse. So I did not... Oh, this is blue mouse. This is a blue mouse, yeah. I missed that because I was distracted by U.S. Steel trying to hire me for something. Oh yeah, what are you thinking about doing? I don't know. Mining, I guess. And then ever since you told me that Anthony Anderson is a sex pest, I don't care if diabetes kills him.
Starting point is 00:01:55 So those are my notes. And then after the ads, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, it goes, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thinks, thinks, thinks, thanks, thinks, thinks, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thinks, thin. thin. to thi. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thin. thi. thi. thi. the. thanks for watching these ads, like I had a fucking choice. So offensive. This movie starts out as all films should with someone opening a banquet beer. Yeah, course baby, not even the light. Yeah, the banquet beer. That's a real drunk dad beer. Oh yeah, that ain't a light beer. No, that's a drinking man's beer. Yeah. He's knuck it up to down 30 of those to be a dick. Mm-mm. So, why does every horror thing have to be in 1978? Why? Spooky time, I think Halloween is probably why?
Starting point is 00:02:39 Yeah. The Halloween film, not the holiday. You also don't have to fuck around with cell phones. Those aren't even an option. Right. Yeah. That cicada is really fucking loud again. It's just one that comes here when we record thrown. Yeah, yeah. I could barely hear it on the last recording, but I have tonightus. So who knows? You know when you get older you lose those ranges? You think that cicada is a ringtone that a child might have in class and a stinturcan here? Yes. So we're in North Denver in 1978. Yeah, man, kids in Denver fucking threw down in 1978.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Everyone knows how to fight. Sure. Holy Ghost. Dude, I knew how to fight that well. Robin? Yes, he is so tough for th for th for th for th for th for th for th for th for th for thoing, thoing, thoing, tho tho I knew how to fight that well. Robin? Robin? Yes, he is so tough for not having hit puberty yet. His voice is so high-pitched! Yeah, he's just like a little squirrely kid,
Starting point is 00:03:32 but he just whips the shit out of people. Yeah. We start with a baseball game. Yeah, a little bit a lot of crossover with the Days and Confuse soundtrack, which I am also like, no, that's iconic. Yeah, you can't just slot it in. But again, it's like, guys get where I am, get where we are? Yeah, play some Emerson Lake and Palmer. There were other things. What gets you pumped for Spooky Times, like Emerson Lake and Palmer? They had an HR gigar, album cover. Uh, their, their th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. You thi, thi, thi, you th. You th. You th. You, you th. You, you th. You, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th, you th. You th. You th. You th. You guys, you th. You guys, you th. You guys, you're th. You're th. You're that. You're that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th terrifying to people. I mean for different reasons but yeah. I did like the kid who pitched two strikes and then the kid hits a Homer off them. Yeah and afterwards what is that Bruce
Starting point is 00:04:16 Yamada? Bruce yeah. It's like hey your arm's mint. Yeah it was sweet because getting walked off would be terrible. Yeah. And Bruce is nice. He's like, you almost had me. You almost have a kid, your arm's mint. Yeah, he was cute. And then rip Bruce. And then rip Bruce. I love the presupposition that in 1978, the weirdest-
Starting point is 00:04:35 thiiiiwa that in town, the weirdest-dra-doubioliwa-d.. thiwiorethe immediate suspect of every cop in town. And who do you think the weirdest looking guy in town? The guy driving the Apricadabra van? Oh, he's the one, yeah. Who is this the top hat and the cape on? Yeah, and the various masks. He's not subtle in his moving about to towar. No. No. No. No. No. No. I'm also. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. tho. tho. tho. thooooooooooooo-s. toda. tapea. tapea. toda. tapea. tapea. tape. toda. toda. tho. th minds. So this is a Joe Hill joint. I was about to bring it up. Oh, I apologize for Richard Bachman's kid. Yes, Dickie Bok's kid. And he also wrote Nosfor Atu. Okay. The television program that's on the shutter. I'm not real familiar.
Starting point is 00:05:16 It's a TV show about a magical man who steals children and takes them to Christmas land. Okay. This is a movie about a magician man who steals children and murderizes them. True. So either Joe Hill is terrified of child abduction as he's probably my age and that would make sense. Stranger, danger, baby. And or this is a cry for help of Joe Hill stealing children. Oh, maybe. This plot of this film is also very reminiscent of a recent movie, The Mnigh-Ni-Nitit-Shand the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thian man, the the thian man, the thian man, thian man, thian man, thian man, thian man, the joyo stealing children. Oh, maybe. This plot of this film is also very reminiscent of a recent movie, the M-Knight Shambalon, John, Split, a movie I hated so much that I will never stop talking about it. Yeah, it's about a guy who kidnaps a teenage girl and keeps her in a basement like this and it's all the hurting to get out. That's right. Yeah. And like the face Ethan Hawke's masks have like different personalities seemingly. Seemingly, yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:08 And so that was the plot of split, was that he had split personalities? And it was just, it's literally the worst movie. Was that the twist that he had split personality? No. I'm not going to tell you the podcast sometimes. Oh, yay! I will never stop talking about how much I hate that movie. And then we have to do Unbreakable and Glass, all the movies that are in the split universe. So I didn't know that it was part of a universe. I don't think it was advertised until after.
Starting point is 00:06:39 I don't fucking care also. Bruce Willis, this is a superhero is pretty fun and unbreakable, though. Fine. Fine. Fine. Anyway, here I wrote, oh great, a mean dad, just what I need. A mean dad played by an actor that I love. Oh, who is it? Jeremy Davis?
Starting point is 00:06:55 What do I know from? Um, lost? Um, lost? Um, the movie Secretary? I think there's some light slapping in that one too, huh? A little more than white, a little more than a light slapping. And for different reward. Oh yeah, it's a consensual light slapping, right? This isn't a beaten your kids type movie, this is a- God damn it.
Starting point is 00:07:15 I cannot watch children be beaten. Why? It's a little bit traumatic. What's up? Let's go. Yeah, no, I think it's some unresolved issues. You don't like that 15 minute long scene of a child just wailing as her father whips her with a belt that brings up? No, no, no, just fuck. That is the scary scene in this movie. One hands down the scary scene this movie. Like seeing a dad holding a belt just tris like a the horror reflex and for sure. And I that that that that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that I that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's Oh for sure it's meant to be like that. And I also in the long list of us breaking each other, yeah, you having a wonderful daughter who I love very much. Thank you. Loves you as well. Child actors, specifically little girls are now like my favorite things in movies. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just like oh they're so great. They're so fun. This little girl was the best actor in the film. Yeah. And the other ones th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. th. Oh. Oh. th. Oh. Oh. th. Oh. Oh. th. th. th. th. Oh. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th........................................... th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the th. the the the th. the the the the th. the th. th. other ones were good. It wasn't for lack of time. Yeah. Other than like Ethan Hawk. I mean, I just think he was trying to do Bill Scarsgard and falling down a lot. I thought he was giving Johnny Depp as Willie Wonka vines. Very much so. I think there's a
Starting point is 00:08:20 a Venn diagram there and it's mostly a circle for those three things. Yeah. Yeah. Do. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. Do th. th. th. th. th. the the thi thi thi. Yeah, the the the the the the the tho. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah a circle for those three things. Yeah. Do an impression of Michael Jackson. That's your Venn diagram because both of them are doing it. That's a little spooky. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hated the credits to this movie. I don't recall. They were just like, home video footage of like kids playing and stuff over top of like
Starting point is 00:08:43 a, wow. See the under under- th- th- th- th- th- th- th- th-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like-like th-like th-like-like th-like th-like th-like th-like thi-like thi-like thi-like thi-like thi-like thi-like thi-like thi-like thi. I was like, yeah, no, it's Robert Zombard, that's what his name is. I mean cute that you think that, but no.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I do love that though, Roberto Zambi- Zambini. Or Zambino, one of the two. We meet our protagonist Finn, who is a kid who is like skinny and kind of bullied, I guess. But he's friends with this other kid, Robin, who's like a tough, talking, high-pitched voice, little fighter. Yeah. He's so tough. He's so cool. He says, the more blood the better for the crowd. Like, no fight in school did I ever seek as far as these fights get. Oh really? Before someone came and broke it up. Oh yeah, okay. Yeah, I saw some real fucked up shit when I was kidding. Wow. But I was closer to this time period than you were. I feel like we were just a more violent people.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Were you just out there in like a kid fight club in Delaware in the 70s? So you're more? Do not far from it. Definitely by the early 80s. I was in tons of fights and like, yeah, it was bad. It was a bad scene. Someday I'll tell you all about them. I won't do that. I don't, I'm fine. So we meet dad, dad sucks. He's just a drunk piece of shit. We learned that mom has died. Yeah. And then we see the fight in the street, right?
Starting point is 00:10:25 And then, and this little kid Robin whoops the shit out of a kid who's my size. Yeah, moose, they call him moose. Moose got some damn sharp teeth. How I got through life without getting the nickname moose, I have no. I mean that's a that's a a not a great nickname. No, no, it's not one that you want. No. Although I think if you get it, you lean into it. Sure. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:48 So then we see the van driving by as the fights breaking up. And afterwards, Robin and Finn have this sort of touching talk about Robin being like, you've got to learn always stand up for you. Oh, the great scene where Finn's running from his bullies. And Robin comes in and he's like, hey, if you fuck with Finn again, I'll end you. Yeah. And it was just like, oh, that's so good. And so, like, such a 70s movie trope as well. Yeah, he's already got this other kid's blood on him as he's saying. Yeah, he's washing blood Nuc. He's watching blood knuck on through a glass with bloody knuckles. Just in his biology lab. We definitely get an F-bomb dropped in this.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Not fuck, but the bad one. Oh, I missed it, but okay. I may have just tuned it out, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so he tells him he's got to stand up for himself. And then Gwen is telling her friend about a dream she had? Yeah, it seems like one of Gwen's friends brothers is missing. Bruce is her brother, I think. Right. And she's talking about a dream she had, which the police later come to talk to her about.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Right. Because she's said something about black balloons. And apparently at the first today. Which, first of all, I love, because I like counting your crimes. Sure, sure, sure. Really in bad form for a criminal, but fine. 137 balloons were left behind. Yes, but also like such a bad calling card.
Starting point is 00:12:17 You know what I mean? Like, not many people are buying black balloons. You're buying them locally because it's the 70 70 70 70 70 70 70 70 that hard. You're driving a big van that says Abercadabra. The black van that says Abercadabber that has black balloons on the back of it? I just feel like he's really leaning into being a psycho killer and also being not very subtle about it. Also, is it a Buckman family trait that all little girls are psychics. Oh damn I didn't even think about it but you're right you're right and her mother was too so psychic ladies. Come on Buckman Jr. What are you doing? Oh my god. I love when the cops are talking to Gwen and one of them is being like kind of disrespectful and she just fucking AB baby. She says you dumb're like, whoa, Gwen, AC, A, B, baby. She says, you dumb, fucking fart knockers do this.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Yes, she's so good. Man, only monkey smoking cigarettes makes me more happy than little kids cursing. Fair. Lucy gets one a day, as you know. I do, and I love it. Sometimes she tries to save them up. And then we get one of the the the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the the the the they, they, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to totries to save them up, I have to talk her out of that. And then we get one of the sad scenes in the movie where the kids are going home and Gwen's like, yeah, I'm going to go stay over at my friend's house because it's Friday night.
Starting point is 00:13:33 And Finn goes, all right, I'll take care of dad. Yeah. But he says it was such a casual flare to it that it's like this is something they discuss every week. And it's like I'm glad you were not going to be there. Yeah. And it's also like, yay! But Gwen gets the worst of it the next morning because, oh my god. The cops had come, I guess, to the dad's work. Yeah. And he's questioning her about why. Even though, like it seems like the cops made it pretty clear why. But he the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that, that, that, thinks is is th. thi's thi's thi's is like, thi's like, thi's, thi's, thi's, thi's is is is is is is like, thi's is is like, thi's is like, thi's is like, thi. Yeah, that's is is is is is is is they. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. to. Yeah. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the th. the th. the the the th. the the th. the th. th. the th th th th th threat th why. But he seems to be pissed because she's claiming to have these precious dreams.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Right. And which is what her mom did and her dad's pissed about that. Right. I mean, he's not thinking clearly, obviously. No. No. No. Jeremy Davis is also injustified, if you ever watched that, and she am of a television program. I have not. This scene is just so fucking hard to watch. It's like this is the first I'm in forever that I've actually been scared watching a movie and like when the scene ended I had fingernail marks in my palms you know. Because it's just literally a little girl screaming and doing a fantastic job. Oh she's so good. It's which it makes it worse! Yes. Yeah. And him hitting her with a belt and you're just like, I don't want this.
Starting point is 00:14:50 This isn't entertainment to me. Isn't having a psycho killer enough? Do we also have to have the real monsters were us all along? I mean, I think Joe Hill is a little bit heavy handed with the real monsters were us all along? Yeah. It's like he's thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th th thi th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thin thin thin thin thin thin thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' that when that when that that that that thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And th. And thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin' thin, thin, thin, thin, thooooooo' thooooooo'nn't to to the the to the thea'n'n' thi thi monsters where us all along. Yeah, yeah. It's like he's trying to one up his dad. Yeah. And do you want to mention that when Finn is alone watching ice cream after his dad, or watching ice cream, eating ice cream and his dad passes out, he's watching the Tangle. I was going to ask you if he the stick of the movie is that
Starting point is 00:15:30 Vincent Price is a scientist who has discovered that when you get scared a monster appears on your spine and that's what makes your spine tingle oh my god I love that conceits so much it's a dumbest thing I've ever heard it goes away when you stop being scared okay Okay. Where's it go? Where does it come from? Where does it come from? Cottonide tingler. Cotton, I tickle.
Starting point is 00:15:49 Which sounds like a really weird tilt out of the cotton-eyed tingler. It's got syphilis in it. The whole thing is he's trying to catch the the the ting. to. except for the one scene that you see with the bathtub that's red with a hand coming out of it. Okay. And I think right after that scene the screen goes black and in the theaters there were buzzers under the seats. Oh that's right that was William Castle's thing theater. I love that. And then it would like buzz people, see some people screaming in the theater. It's all black, like, it's just vaudeville. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:16:32 That's such a great, like, extra sensory way to watch a movie. And other than Vincent Bryce, being in it, it I was really stoked to us in this. Yeah. The tingler. The tingler. I guess we just did a mini episode of the tingler. All right, done and doesn't. So you get two for the price of one, which is free. Oh yeah, and when she's being beaten,
Starting point is 00:16:54 she grabs the vodka. Yeah, and then it's worse. And he's yelling at her, you're not like your mother, you don't see things that aren't there. Yeah. I fucking hate it. Yeah. I mean, it's doing its job. Mm-hmm. But it's like, I can't walk.
Starting point is 00:17:14 that's just can't. Yeah, yeah. And then my next note is, they gotta kill dad. Right? Right? It's kind of bullshit that he lives. And then when they're- I don't want to see him get this redemption arc at the end. Yeah. No, bullshit. No, fuck that. No, fuck that.
Starting point is 00:17:34 No, redeemers for childbeaters. Yeah. I want to just point out the tapapapapapapapapapapapap. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. th. to. to. to. th. th. th. thi. th. tho. tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. Well dad has passed out. Well then he should be watching Enter the Dragon because it's a fucking fantastic movie. In 1978 you'd have to go to the movie theater. Oh I see right I forgot that everything wasn't just on Peckock. Kid you should be watching John Saxon what are you doing here? You know I like to watch John Saxon clip his toe. Do you like that when the kids the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. to their their their their their their to go. Do you like that when the kids are consoling each other at post-beating, they're watching Davy and Goliath? Are you familiar with Davy and Goliath? But I couldn't figure out like, is there family religious? That was just on TV on Saturday mornings.
Starting point is 00:18:19 No, I know, but then she's like hiding a Bible inside her doll house. What is the deal with God in that house? I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. What is the deal with God in that house? I think she just uses God to, because she's a little kid and thinks God's real, is using God. She's just using God. She's just using God. Leave it in. She's just using God as like the talisman for her to have her powers.
Starting point is 00:18:43 Which is, yeah. Because at some th, she she th, she th, she th, she th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th is just, th is just, she's th is just, she's, she's, she's, she's, she's, she is just, she she she she th. th. th. th. Right. Because at some point, she's like, well, maybe you're not real. Yeah, she says like, maybe you're not even listening. And I was like, he isn't. And that's so sad for you. Yeah. She goes, because you don't interfere or whatever. Right. So then we see that Robin gets snatched by terrible. And I like these scenes because it's just like kid walking down the street Man walks out a black van goes to black
Starting point is 00:19:07 Right. You don't have to see the hard abduction scenes No, and but when you do see more of it It's just a kid sort of disappearing into a cloud of black balloons. Yeah, which is cool, but also again very Stephen King's it. Yeah, yeah, the mini series more so than the movies and it's got to be a the? Yeah, the the the the the the the the the the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. the movie. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it's gotta be, like, this is basically your Jacob Dillon in the Wall Flowers, and everyone's just gonna be like, so your dad did that, right? This is what your dad does, huh? Yes. Like, you might be good looking, but you just can't wail. Yeah. I don't even think Joe Hill is probably good looking.
Starting point is 00:19:41 He looks exactly like Stephen King did. Yeah. That's a young, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the th. But like, how do you, like, that's bold to just be like, I'm gonna do the, I'm gonna be an electrician, just like my dad, but my dad is the most famous horror writer and all time. Yeah, it's true. But he's doing a great job. I mean he's made a career for himself. Yeah, I'm sure. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's th. th. th. th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. That's true. Yeah, he could be Joe King, Lil Kang. Little Kang. Oh, and everybody. We know about sharks in the corn. Stephen Kang. They stole it from us. We said them a strongly worded season desist. We got no reply as per expectations. Well like once a week we just get sent, have you seen this? Have you seen it? Yeah, we say it. Yeah, we say it's. Yeah, it. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. Yeah, the. Yeah, the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th the th th th the th th th th the th th th. Yeah, th. th. Yeah, the th. Yeah, the once a week we just get sent, have you seen this? Yeah, we've seen it, thank you. But keep sending it to us because we like to hear from you. What do you think about that mask?
Starting point is 00:20:33 The mask that... Oh, I like it. I always want to call him Ewan Macrober. It's not his name. I get him confused with... You and McGregor? Whose name I really couldn't think of because I just kept thinking McGroober. Okay, Ethan Hawk, a very different actor. Don't look at me Alan, I was so like... Oh you poor stupid idiot. I love it. I love it. I love it. Because I do that shit. I could even be a kid run into something and just fall down. That's the look you gave me.
Starting point is 00:21:05 You beautiful, beautiful moron. Do you like that mask? I do. I think it looks cool. I like that it's cut in half and I can switch to like plates basically. Yeah. He's almost like he's like a stop motion character. And I was also like, it looks paper mish as well as being like very beautiful. So I'm like, oh he made that creep ass mask.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Yeah, and then made all the pieces for it. Yeah. He's crafty. He's talking, he's taking Finn. Right. After Finn says, can you do your dream thing to find Robin, because Robin's been abducted. And she's like, it doesn't work try. So that's what she's talking to Jesus in the Bible in her playhouse. So yes, Finn gets abducted. He needs Cobra Kai in his life, poor Finney.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Did you watch Cobra guys? I watched the first couple seasons of it. Yeah. That's a teen drama that I like. I'll talk to Missy about it. So he, yes, Finn wakes up in a basement with a mattress and a window high up in the wall and like a little weird bathroom with a bunch of rolled up carpet? A surprising toilet. A surprising toilet. You don't often see the toilet. Your abduction holes usually don't have toilets. This one does. Yeah, it's not even in Pittsburgh. And Ethan Hawk is talkinging talking to to to to to to to to to to to to to thiiiiii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, thi, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they. I I thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi.eea.ea.ea.eaugh, thi, thi.e.e. Wea, to him in this sort of like high-pitched Michael Jackson, Willie Wonka, Bill Scarsgard voice.
Starting point is 00:22:31 And he's like, what I said about snapping your neck? I was just angry. You're like, oh, it might be good if you weren't doing that voice. I don't get, I mean, he has no motivation, so, you know, whatever. For being the murder man? Yeah. Yeah, I don't get it. Yeah. I mean he's just a motivationless serial killer, I guess. Sure.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Yeah. Pull up. Oh shit. Were those trikes? Those are trikes. But they kind of looked like cars, too. Two wheels in the front, one, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the mma, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the mma, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, the the the trikes? Those are trikes? But they kind of looked like cars, too. Three wheels, two wheels in the front, one in the back. Huh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:08 What's the purpose of that? Yeah. Less wheels. Less tires you gotta buy. Yeah, cheaper. I like that. I like that. They're just economical. I do like the scene, it's very Buffalo Bill. Yeah. He drops his groceries, and he's like, oh, can you help me?
Starting point is 00:23:25 I'm a fuddy duddy who dropped my groceries. And poor Finney, who is a sweet baby angel, just helps. Yeah, and then he gets sprayed with paint in his mouth or something. I don't know what it is. It gets like kind of maced, basically. Knock out juice. And Ethan Hawk also says that he, that he, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th. And I is th. And, th. And, th, th, th, th. And, th, th, th, th, th, th. And, th, th, th, th, th. And, th. And, th, th. And, I is th. And, I is th. And, I is th. And, I is th. And, I is th. And, I thi, I thi, I thi, I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to thin, th soon. I'll take you home soon. Don't worry. Yeah. Uh-huh. And he also cuts Ethan Hawke's arm with a little like pen knife kind of thing that he has? Yeah, because he's real into space. Right. And he somehow holds on to the weapon.
Starting point is 00:23:59 He still has it. Well, that doesn't make sense to me, but okay. You're not going to take the kid's rocket pen away from, are you? The one that cut your arm pretty deeply? Uh-huh. Think if I'm the serial killer, I do. I do take it. I do take it from him. I do take it from him. So this is when the grabber, as he has known. Tells him that. there because it's a phone but the line is cut. Yeah he says it doesn't work not since I was a kid. Yeah. But he's also being like oh everything's all
Starting point is 00:24:29 fucked up. You're like I don't know what you mean by that. And those other abductions weren't me. I didn't do that. Yeah. Oh dumb. Oh that's right he says that wasn't me that was someone else. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. So the phone rings. Yeah. There's no one there the first time. It rings many times, so we'll try not to remember them all. And then Finn goes to sleep and he wakes up and uh, the grabber is watching him sleep.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Yeah, just looking at him. That's bad. That's gross. And he tells him that he can't bring him anything to eat. Right, but I don't remember why. Well, we find out later that the grabber's brother... Hey, Cicada! Hey, Cicada is a real screaming, motherfucker. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Thank you. He's like, I am a screaming mother fucker. So we learn later that his brother is staying with him. Right, right, right. That's why he couldn't bring any food. His cocaine brother, who is also an actor that I really like. I really enjoyed him in this movie and wished he had gotten more time. Yeah, that he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he he's he he's he he's he he's he he's really really really really really really really really really really really really really he he's he he. Yeah, that was great. He looks like a low-rent CM Punk. Yes, he does. Maybe that's why I like him, because you know I have a thing for CM Punk. But he's in... Maybe less so after the Jizz movie.
Starting point is 00:25:51 You make a Jizz movie? Think about it all the time. Chis on the third floor? He's on the third floor. Girl on the third jizz. This guy is the guy that's in thi that's in that's in that's in th. T that's in th is in th. T th. T th. T th. T th. I can't wait. He's also in Generation Kill. Oh, yeah. Which I'm sure have not watched as well. And he's shown up in other things, but he's just a really great character actor. I feel like you so to the show, and I say, oh yeah. I think all we've gotten is Brooklyn 99. Oh, speaking of, we started, what is it, McDonald and Dodd?
Starting point is 00:26:25 Yes, I like it a lot. Oh my God, it's so good. It's so good. It's the exact level of cozy mystery that I want. It's perfect. Yeah, I really enjoyed that. We needed some sort of drop for British crime. the British crime.
Starting point is 00:26:38 Yeah, we haven't given any in a while. But this is not British, but it is on Acorn. I've been watching Brokenwood Mysteries, which is New Zealand. I mean, I need to watch that. I mean, it's fine if you do, it's fine if you don't. That's just what I'm doing with my spare moments rather than watching the wire. Which I will go to my grave having not seen. At this point I don't want after the grabber leaves him. And it's someone saying, your arm is mint, you almost had me. Yeah. And it's Bruce, but he doesn't remember his name. Your name is the first thing you forget here. I'll say, oh, that's so sad. That is so sad. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:24 The loss of self is a big bummer for me. Good thing, let me, heads up. You die, there's nothing else. Okay, you don't even need to worry about it. I know we saw flatliners, I know what you saw. Yeah, you get beat up by a little kid. No, I don going to sing it even. This is the end. Oh sure, is Mr. Watching the Vampire Diaries? Hell, yeah, she is. There's a character named Kai
Starting point is 00:27:52 according to the close caption. Carry on then. I refer to the Vampire Diary as a show full of people who look exactly the same and walk to a room and go, what are you doing here? Is that all teen dramas? Wait, I think the th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. Wait, I think the trikes are coming back down. Oh no, never mind, they're in the ravines. What are you doing here? What are you doing here? So yes, it's Bruce. He tells him about the loose tile on the floor and maybe he can dig his way out. Yes, he says the phone rang. the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone the phone th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thii is thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thi's thiq. thi's thrikes. thi's thi. th. th. th. th. thrikes. thrikes. thrikes. thrikes. thinks thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. Starting point is 00:28:32 Baby, Bruce Yamada. How she, how she know that. She's the psychic. He is really cute, though. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Also, can you flush a bunch of dirt down a th, th, th't think that'll end well. That's only one way to find out. By flushing a bunch of dirt down your toilet. Grab that bag of potting soil. We're going to town.
Starting point is 00:28:51 We just spent five grand on our basement, let's do it again. Yeah, well, we can't. We can't ththink you can't. I thought the same... Well, I mean, it's just like a lot of shit, right? I don't know. They call poop night soil? There, therefore it must be safe for modern plumbing. And he puts a rug down, which you don't think that the grabber would be, hey, what's that rug doing? Yeah, he the the the the the the the the the he I he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he's he I he's the the he I he's just th th th th th is he's just thus thus thus thus thus thus that is just that is just thus thus that is just that is just that is just that is just that is just that is just thus. I that is just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just th. He's just just just th. He's just th. He's just th. He's just th. He's just th. He's just th. He's just th. He's just just like that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that you don't think that the grabber would be like,
Starting point is 00:29:25 Hey, what's that rug doing? Yeah, he's just like making it more homey for himself. Also, at no point does he try to use the rug to shimmy up to the window? I thought he did once, because someone was like, have you tried climbing on the rug yet? Oh, did they? And he said, I tried that that, I've tried everything. I just feel like that would work. Because he's also a magician who puts a wire up there and it works perfectly. Yes, I never would have thought of that. I would have just put that there
Starting point is 00:29:48 and then shimmyed the fuck up. So wild. Yeah. So the grabber comes back down stairs and leave some food for him. and then the phone rings. Yeah, Billy Show Walter. Billy Show Walter. And there's sort of a dead kid jump scare of Billy Show Walter being behind him. Yes, very, very six cents. Yes, very six cents.
Starting point is 00:30:13 And he says the phone, when the phone rings, he says, don't go upstairs, it's a trap. Yeah. And then it cuts to Ethan Hawk sitting on a chair in the middle of the kitchen shirtless with a belt. Ethan Hawk? Rip tis. How old is Ethan Hawk? Old is Ethan Hog?
Starting point is 00:30:30 Older than me? Really? Oh yeah, for sure. Wow, yeah, great. Yeah, would. I mean, not with the mask, I don't think. He seems like a decent enough dude, too. Is he? Yeah, I wish you have you. I'm sure we have so much to talk about. I'd love to talk about him about John Brown with
Starting point is 00:30:46 him. He did that TV show about John Brown. Okay. You mean of Harper's Ferry? Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. Great. I'd love to talk to him about the 2022 Pittsburgh Pirates. See what his thoughts are on O'Neill Cruz. Oh, I'm sorry. What are you sorry about? Baseball. That there's 30 games under 500? Carry on. They're starting their first Hall of Fame, though. Yeah, I cannot believe that the pirates have not had a Hall of Fame before this.
Starting point is 00:31:17 So Billy Show Walter warns him about being upstairs. We see the shirtless, waiting, Ethan Hawk. Hunky, hunky, Ethan Hawk. Yeah. Grabber. And so he almost goes upstairs with them, thinks better up and does not go upstairs. And then he eats those eggs with his hands. Right, because Ethan Hawk has thrown the eggs on the floor. Cut to, Gwen sleeping in class. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:38 So her brother's been kidnapped. She's in school. Yeah. her teacher is like, oh honey, please go to the nurse and get some rest. Why doesn't she confide in this teacher who seems to care about her? Why doesn't she talk to a different, she goes to her father about it? She has like sessions with the school counselor too, right? Does she? I think you might be thinking of next week's movie.
Starting point is 00:32:00 It might be, but I thought she'd talk to somebody. Yeah, yeah, but yeah, she could advise it her father, yes. But like... So she should talk to this teacher instead. Yes, yeah. But there was part of me that was like, ooh, napping at a nurse's office was dope. Was it? I never went to the nurse? Was it to the nurse? Are you kidding me? I go to the nurse? My skin's too shiny. Can I go to the nurse? Sure. I left my cranberry CD in the quad. Can I go get it for someone snags it? It's so funny you said that I wanted a cranberries video watching Jag today. Why? No wonder you were morose when I got here. Fuck the cranberries. Oh, they're so good. No, strong disagree. Really? Yes, I cannot do it. It's just... Wow, man.
Starting point is 00:32:45 Not for me. No need to argue? Ooh, who hits me right in my soft spots? Yes, that's right. Anyway. I wonder if the people were just like, oh, mom and dad are fighting about the cranberries again. So, glad, when goes and sleeps in the nurse's office.
Starting point is 00:33:05 And meanwhile, I'm not sure how much happens between what I'm my notes here. Sure. But the bottle, while Finn is on the phone, the bottle from his drink starts spinning and then just stops quickly and points at the window. Yes. That was very creepy but like I 100% would have just broken that to try to use it as a weapon. Like would you give a captive a glass bottle? 12 year old kid? Yeah. That's why he attacks kids because kids aren't going to fight back. I don't know I guess. I mean isn't that like grossos do that kind of shit? Because they can man-handle kids? I just wouldn't give them a weapon. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. I just wouldn't give him a weapon. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. I would take first of all, I would take the weapon out of their hand, the one that they stab me with when I brought to put them in the basement and then I'm not giving him a glass bottle. We've already established he's a terrible serial killer. get away with it. No he does not. But it does get several bodies before it happens. Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Yes, bottle points to the window and then Gwen has a dream about the paper boy. Yeah. Who has been abducted? Right. Because... What good is a dog if it lets Ethan Hawk take you in his van? I was furious about that.
Starting point is 00:34:21 I thought dogs were supposed to like protect you. Yeah, but you've met Apple. If I feel like if I was walking Apple down the street and someone tried to grab me, she would probably bite them. Probably. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. That dog was so happy though. That dog was just like, cool, I got a balloon out of the deal. Fucking golden retrievers, man. Good for nothing. My note is, oh man, the dog, the dog, the dog, the dog, the dog, the dog, the dog, the dog, the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog the dog th that that that that that that that's that's that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that that that's that th. Starting point is 00:34:47 Did you think the dog would have liked to have gone? Well, at least been taken home. Yeah, that's true. Hopefully you can smell his way home. So is that how she learns about the house? the paper boy shows think that happens a bit later. Okay. But this is when Finn finds the cable, the kid tells him about the cable on the floor, that's the spinning bottle. Yes. Points to the cable that the kid found. So he gets the cable out and this is when he does the fuckery. Oh, that's just two-foot unicycle things.
Starting point is 00:35:25 Oh my god. Doing 30 miles an hour up a hill the other day. My God, legs of steel. No, it was, it was the powered ones. Oh, I don't think I know. Where you just like had to lean forward and it goes? Is it like a scooter? No, it's one wheel in the Shenley Oval, which is really annoying because that's a track for runners and walkers.
Starting point is 00:35:46 I was walking in Frick Park the other day and a dude goes up the hill past me on a fucking motorized skateboard knowing to push him off. I think about pushing them sometimes. I really do. Just accidentally tripping. This is for fat guys to struggle going up this hill not for you to come up here on your your your your your your your your your your your your your your your your your the motor in your to the motor in your to come up here in your the motor in your the motor in your to the motor to come up here in your the motor to the motor to to come up here on your little motor scooter. Seriously. So he gets the cable and this is when he does the fuckery magic where he pushes the cable up through a a roll-up carpet. A roll of carpet which would totally work. Yeah I guess so. But then it like hooks around? Almost magically.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Yes. And he's able to the like caging over the window down. Yeah takes the window now. Yeah, takes the bars off the windows. Yeah, which doesn't actually do him any good for a while, but it will pay off. Also, fucking Numbnuts grabber doesn't even notice that it's happened. Yeah, you'd think he would catch that because it's a lot lighter in the room now. Yeah. And then we see the cops canvassing the neighborhood room where he's got maps and he's triangulating where the kidnapper must be. He's got to be in this neighborhood. Yeah, he's so good. And the cops are like, yeah, great buddy.
Starting point is 00:36:57 You may want to clean up the table before your brother gets home. Yeah, because there's three lines of blow on the table. He cleans them up up up up up, yeah, the the the the the the the the the the the the th, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, th. He, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, th. He's, thi. He's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's thi's threate. He's threats, threats, threats, thi's threats, thi's threats, thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's thi. He's three lines of blow on the table. He cleans them up, don't you worry. You might say he hovers them up. He hovers them up. Yeah. Yep, he's my favorite. Max is my favorite. He was this like, this movie I feel like is overly brutal, like with the child beating scene and stuff and then it's in the fight. Yeah, oh my god. Oh my god, he's beating the shit out of that kid, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, and th. And thi, thi, thi, thi's thi's thi's thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. He's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, he's like, the theean, thean, the thean, like, like, like, like, like, like, thean, like, like, like, the thean, the the thean, he's's beating the shit out of that kid, yeah. And then like for him to be like weird comedic relief, I was like, what is the tone of this film? Yeah, I felt like he was just the only thing I could latch on to, but I mean I agree that the scariest parts of the movie are not committed by the alleged bad guy, you know. Yeah. And we see that Finney is that Finney is the the the the the the the the the the the the the killer. Fiii the killer the killer the killer the killer the killer the killer the killer the killer the killer the killer th. thine is th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thoe thi tho. tho. tho. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the to the the the the the the the the the told the told the told told told told told told told told to be to be to. to. to. too. too. too. too. to to to to to to to to below Max and his lines of toot. So Finney's digging and now the killer wants to know his name. Yes, he comes down and he says, tell me your name.
Starting point is 00:37:51 I don't care usually, I just see it in the paper with a nice big photo. He's this mask with like a downturn mouth now, which is I think the creepiest of them all. You didn't think no mouth? No, I'm gonna gonna gonna gonna gonna the sad the sad the sad the sad the sad them all. You didn't think no mouth? No, I'm gonna go with the sad, sad, sad, scary downturn mouth, yeah. So he lies about his name, not noticing that the grabber has a fucking newspaper under his armpit. Why does he lie? Kids, yeah, yeah. I would've probably lied to. Yeah. He'd have-old, man, probably would have lied. You'd have been like, my name's Katie, my lashing. But I also probably would have broken that bottle and attacked him.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Oh yeah, that was all I could think about. There's also like four Ethan Hawks inside of me. Like, I'm much bigger than that, dude. I like the idea that you've just been swallowing, thwa, thwa, thwa, thwa, that, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the, the, tho, tho, tho, I, I, I'd thr, I'd thr, I'd th, I'd th, I'd th. th. tho, I'd probably probably probably probably probably, I'd tho, I'd probably, I'd th. But, I'd probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably probably, I'd that, I'd that, I'd that, I'd that, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, thrown, throwne, throwne, theeeee. throwne, theee. But, probably throwne, probably the, probably probably the, was thinking I was like, man I have no fear of abduction. Nobody wants to grab me and put me in a van. I don't think it's going to happen to you. I'm going to carry this guy down steps. No one says this. I'm going to fight like a fucking animal. Yeah. That's your advice you got to hold on to that advice. I still think it's the best advice we've given, other than like listen to Outcast. So he lies and the grabber says, I almost let you go. He wasn't gonna fucking... No, he's never gonna let him go. Don't believe in Finney. Yeah. So then Finney sees a kid floating? Yeah, it's sort of an apparition that's hanging in his room in like the backbend kind of pose
Starting point is 00:39:27 Dripping blood and pointing at the phone and you're like, that's something I guess But why? And it almost looks like I thought he was hanging from the ceiling at first by his midsection It felt to me like a studio note where they were like more ghosts. Yeah More like vision ghosts not just ghost voices and they just pluck that in there, you know. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So this is when we're introduced to the theory of the naughty boy. This is repulsive. He wants to punish you for being a naughty boy. Yeah. And you have to play the game naughty boy by being a naughty boy. Right. Ech. Ech. Ech, indeed.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Yeah. But Griffin tells him that he's passed out. Right. He says, yeah, he's, yeah. And he also tells him the combination to the lock to get out of the house is written on the floor or on the wall. Okay, this is a point in the movie where I was like, oh I see, this is a call of Cthulu adventure where you're the keeper and your players are just not fucking getting it and you're like give me an idea roll, okay, maybe you should check the wall.
Starting point is 00:40:31 And then I realized that that's all the voices on the phone are. They're the call of Cthulo keeper for like a group that just got a little too drunk while they were playing, you know, you, you, you, you, you, you, you, and the th, you, and the th, and th like, and the th like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, th, th, th. th. And thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, I don't know. Yeah. But he's carved the combination in such a way that it's just a string of numbers and Finney doesn't know how it breaks down into an old school combination lock. And why would you do that? You were so worried about not remembering it. You would just put spaces. The spaces cost you nothing. This kid. Fucking Griffin, Griffin, get your shit together. Griffen. Grow up! This kid. It's not the fucking guy. Fucking Griffin. Get your shit together.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Grifin. Grow up! That won't happen for Griffin, Katie. Oh, god damn it. Anyway, so Finney walks out of the basement and Ethan Hawk is shirtless in the chair sleeping again. Mm-hmm. Hit him with a frying pan.
Starting point is 00:41:25 You're in a kitchen, get a knife. Stab him right in the neck. This kid is obviously not a listener to the podcast. I mean, or just a vicious person like we are. I'm ready to kill. I don't think I used to be ready to kill. So this is where we see that we are indeed in the cocaine guy's house. Yeah. Finney does get the door open, but as he opens the door, the dude wakes, the grabber wakes up. Right, I think the dog starts
Starting point is 00:41:52 sparking. Yes. Yeah. The dogs got some dumb name that I didn't hear like Samson. Yeah, it's a really scary dog when you see Samson. Yeah, it's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door the door. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th Mastiff maybe? I feel like that dog, unlike a golden retriever, would not let you get plucked off the street. Also, you probably, there would probably not be the attempted plucking with that dog. No, no one would have even tried. That's the dog you give to like, you're a king, your daughter's a princess. She needs a dog. And aren't we all princesses? Are we? So he runs, the van chases him, he gets to a neighbor's house. Hey, oh my god, go ring a doorbell, get off the street.
Starting point is 00:42:31 If he wasn't just running through front yards instead of on the sidewalk. Katie? What? 1978? We know from Halloween, no one's coming outside to help. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. If there's been there's been there's been there's been there's a van is chasing him, I just feel like I'm gonna, I'm gonna intervene. I can't help it. Uh, who says today's the day, motherfucker? Oh, that's um, Vance. He's the tough kid on the phone. Oh my God he's so metal. We want to talk to me about Vance? I want you to tell me about Vance. It plays pinball, he likes to fight in a convenience store. Yeah. But actually I want to talk really quickly about Ethan Hawk grabbing the Finney off the street.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Because he says to him, if you scream, I'll gut you like a pig right here in the street and strangle you with your own intestines. And again, this is my point where I'm like, do it, motherfucker. Fucking do it. I'm not going back in that basement. Yeah, I mean, do it then, do it then, pussy? Yeah, you won't. You won't. Because he's going take one for the team. Seriously. You have a better chance, I think.
Starting point is 00:43:45 For sure. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's all. Also at this point Gwen opens up her little dollhouse and pulls out all the religious paraphernalia she has and she goes, Jesus, what the fuck? I mean, what the fuck? Which I liked a lot because she's great. And she's like, you might not even be real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real real. You you you you you you you th. You th. You th. You might not th. You might not th. You might not th. You might th. You might th. You might th. You might th. You might th. You might th. You might th. You might, you, that that, you, you, you, you, you, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that, yeah. Yeah, that, that, that, yeah. Yeah, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,. I was like, I think I was about your age Gwen when I came to that realization just well. Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, so then we get the Vance flashback, which Gwen is a party to. Right. Where she sees him have a fight in the convenience store over a pinball machine score, and he carves 7-41 into the arm of a kid who he's fighting.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Yes. And I was like, well what does that? What could it be? What could it be? So then she gets in a car with him as he's picked up by the cops and they drive him to a house that's number is 7, 7,4? Yes. And she sees the whole thing, it's got a chain link fence out front, which is basically just saying the bad things are happening in that house, having a chain link fence out front. Yeah. Yeah. She wakes up, we realize she's been sleeping in the bathtub. I was upset about that. Maybe there's tornadoes coming. Those Denver tornadoes. And Vance is being very mean to Finney on the phone. Yeah, Vance. Vance is being very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very to to to to rying very mean to Finney on the phone. Yeah. He's a dick. Yeah, because Finney's like, I need to get out of here and he says, this isn't about you, fuck him. Yeah. He wants revenge on the dude.
Starting point is 00:45:14 He says, fuck him, and then he floats away, which is, eh. I mean, make a good exit. Also, then Finney goes into the bathroom and he takes the back of the toilet tank off and I was like, why the fuck are you not using that as a weapon? Can you imagine how much it would hurt to get hit in the skull with a toilet tank lid? Yeah. Pretty sure that it's a taukmah. thinn't some. realize that fighting would be what got me killed eventually but fuck it. We learned earlier that it's soundproof no matter what Finney does in this room
Starting point is 00:45:47 no one can hear it outside of the room. Right. So he smashes the wall and finally breaks the toilet apart because I was thinking the whole time that you take the metal thing off the flusher on the toilet and sharpened that on the concrete floor you got a fucking shank right.. But why would you need that? You already have something you've stabbed him with. You don't even need to put the effort in. You have a glass fucking bottle! But this is a very sad scene because somebody had told him if he can get through this wall, it's a storage room. There's a freezer, really the only time he breaks. Yeah. And it's really
Starting point is 00:46:28 hard to watch. Yeah. Because he's really good too, I got a really good actor. Yeah. The phone starts ringing and he ignores it. Yeah. And then we get a fighting montage, a training montage with the ghost of Robin. Sweet as pie, tough as nails. He's really the kid we all want to be. Yeah. Even as an adult, I want to be sweet as pie and tough as nails. I'm neither. I'm just floating around in the middle like, oh, oh. I'm probably sweet as pie, Robin's been here all along. I guess. I guess.
Starting point is 00:47:09 I guess. I guess. And he's saying that he needs to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And I was like, I hope he doesn't die without seeing Texas Chainsaw Mass. Fantastic film. Do you think he meant the 202 one? Yeah, for sure. He was like, listen. In the future there's going there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there he meant the 2022 one? Yeah, for sure. He was like, listen, in the future, there's gonna be this thing called Instagram.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Influencers. Influencers. You can buy a town, a whole town. You can just buy it. I do love the dropping in of Pink Floyd here, though. I love that song that's playing. What song is it? I don't I don't th don't th don't th don't th don't th don't th don't th don't th, I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't tho. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't to to to to. I to. I to to to to to to to to to to to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I to. I. I. I. I to. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the. the. thr. thr. the. the. to. to. toe. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to run. Okay. I never thought that I liked Pink Floyd as a young woman. Yeah. And then like in my mid to late 30s I heard Pink Floyd sort of out of the blue and I was like, oh yeah, I get it now. theat. the same girl. Yeah, I don't know
Starting point is 00:47:54 what that was about. All my friends in college like Pink Floyd. I was like, this is stupid. Yeah. Fucking jock. the fucking jock. But. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I. th. I. I. I. th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I the stuff. I the stuff. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the the th. I th. I th. I th. I heard. I heard. I heard. I heard. I heard. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th just like a bunch of dirty, hippie-ass dudes playing Prague Rock and the fucking Pompeii. It's wild. I saw a headline recently, I did not read the article, but the headline was basically like, people shocked that David Gilmore doesn't like the government. And I was like, yeah, big shit. He's, well, he's having the phone-filling fight montage. Yeah, set to on the run. Gwen is out looking for him and her little wellies, her little rain boots, she's riding around. And she goes to the police who are like, all right, let's go fucking check it out,
Starting point is 00:48:36 because they believe her. Which I like that they don't do a whole, like, thing. The cops like really tell me like whatever you have because I'm desperate. Are you with a kid in the Stephen Kingbook? Let's do this. Let's do this. Let's be partners. Also, how does she find the house? 7441? 7741?
Starting point is 00:48:53 Whatever it is. Because the dead kids pop up in front of her and scare her off her bike. That's right. I did not like that that that that that that that that that th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like th like. th. th. th. th. th. th. thoom. thoom. th. that. thus. tho tho th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to th. to to to to to th. th. to. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. all. So Max at this point realizes that it must be in his house. He gets up, he goes to the basement. And he's like, oh man. Don't forget, he does a line and then goes in the basement, that's right. And he's like, oh, check this out. Do you want to know how I figured this out? Yes, oh God, I love it.
Starting point is 00:49:26 And then he just gets axed right in the head. You made me kill my brother. Yeah, he was an idiot, but he was my idiot. So we see that Finn has put together this elaborate plan. Where he's used the cord to make a trip wire and dug a hole big enough for an adult-sized man to fall into. He must have been there a while. Yes.
Starting point is 00:49:50 At one point I was like, I'll bet that kid stanks. Yeah. Little teen boys, oh, it's tea thee boys stink immediately. And so he tricks the grabber into his rug covered hole. Right, which has the grate from the windows of the bottom, which break his ankle. Yes. It's so good. And then he starts beating him with the phone
Starting point is 00:50:08 that's packed full of dirt, as Robin suggested. Yes. But it's funny because Robin gives him, the big fight montage thing is like, step back, forward, back, swing, or whatever. do any of that? Oh he just beats the shit out of them. Yeah, because he's broken his leg and he's in a hole. And then... Like why did you show me that, I guess? While this is happening, Gwen is taking the cops to the wrong house. Yes, it's an empty house, but what do they find in the basement? They find bodies in the basement. Yeah. And a fresh-dug-Grave. Yeah. Somebody says that, oh, he's holding the phone. The phone rings, even though it's a pack of dirt.
Starting point is 00:50:50 And very far from the receiver, or not the receiver. The receiver? No, that's the part you listen to. The cradle? The cradle. Cradle of the phone. Oh, the porch. Did we make a cradle of filth joke about rotary phones? Why not? I don't know. I made a cradle to the grave joke, but with cradle to the phone.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Oh, I said cradle of phone. Yeah, that's both work. They both work. I'm glad we weren't on the same wavelength, honestly. I do appreciate you making a cradle filth songs. I th the the the the th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thooooooooahahahahaha. I thooen. I thoaduaduaduad. I th. I th. I th. I'm thoaducoa. I'm thoen. I'm thoen. I'm thoe. I'm thoe. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I'm th. th. tha. tha. tha. tha. ta. total. total. total. total. total. total.a. total.a. I'm total. I'm total. I'm total. I'm th joke. I don't know any cradle filth songs. I just know they exist. Oh, you, uh, cruelty in the beast? No. Red roses for the devil's whore? What?
Starting point is 00:51:30 That's just a lyric from a cradle of filth song. It goes, red roses for, the devil's hawr. It's very funny. It makes me laugh every time. Also, I think about the Grayla Phil's lyric. And here we go. Oh, fuck, I can't remember it now. Never mind, damn it. I want to hear it. Think of it until you think of it.
Starting point is 00:51:52 I can't think of it. I can't think of it. Fuck. It'll be in next week's episode. Oddly, but the weird thing is that myen Arrow attack in Norway a couple years ago. And I was like, that's the weirdest fucking thing that was the lady who sang on a great little field record. Weird.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Yeah. Yeah. All crime should be treasure somehow. Okay. All right. That's silly. Yeah. Anyway, the ghost kids call Eve Hawk on the phone, the dirt phone.
Starting point is 00:52:25 And Bruce says, Finn's arm is mint. And Finn breaks the fucking grabber's neck after he says that. I was like, what, you rookie of the year? It's not that mint. Seriously, did you fall and break in, have a heel too tight? Now you play for the Chicago Cubs. He's got no strike zone! So Finn gives meat to Samson and walks out of the basement. It is so incredibly Monkey Island slash Hugo's House of Horrors slash all of those old like Lucas Arts or DOS games where you would have to like give the dog meat to not have it not attack you. Unbelievable. Like Joe Hill definitely played those games. Maybe this is his like ready player one where he's just putting every reference to everything he's ever enjoyed into it.
Starting point is 00:53:09 I don't know anything about that but I'm going to take your word for you. All right. Yeah, it's about video games. It's about d'A. Speel Burgh thrug. It's a book about video games. It was made into a movie. Okay. And it's like about D&D and D. And D. And. And. And. And. And. D. And. D. good? It's fine. Stephen Spielbergo directed it. Oh, Spill Bergo, as he was as he was called when he came from Ellis Island. So Finn leaves, Finn leaves the house, Gwen sees him. Yeah. There's a sad reunion. So tender, their relationship is so good because both of these actors are really good. You're gonna get me every time with a brother and sister that love each other. Aw, because you love your sister. Oh, I hate my brother. He's a dick. Yeah, but I love you too and you're like a sister to me. Yeah, that's fair.
Starting point is 00:53:50 You can be my brother. Oh, but not like the white supremacist living in Georgia, kind. Chosen family. Chosen family. Yeah. Dad shows up. to that's. that. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. th. to. to. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to too. I wanted Finn to say if you tou tou tou to death with a phone full of dirt. He says like, I'm so I'm so sorry. He's kneeling in front of neither of them acknowledge him. No. Which I think is good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm glad they don't. I'm glad they don't. It's. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I they don't. I they don't. I they don't. And then, uh, then goes to school when we get a montage of him getting respected and going down the hallway.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Yeah, and a girl liking him. Yeah. He says, call me Finn, instead of Finney. Yeah, he's a man. That's his science class girlfriend. Yeah. And that he that he that he that's that's that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. that's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, th. Yeah, he's. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, he's. Yeah, he's th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's his science class girlfriend. Yeah, holy ghost. And that is the black phone. So we're going to the ratings phase.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Can you do it in a cradle of filth, melody? All ratings shall be treasured. They bring you pleasure somehow. All right. What do you think of this bad boy? I thought it was fine. It was enjoyable to watch. I think it's very weird how much his storylines are similar to his fathers. I don't think that's weird. I think it's something else. Yeah, I mean, I guess I would like write monster movies or something, like just something.
Starting point is 00:55:25 Just not psychic girls and serial killers with balloons. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'd give this a seven. Really? Yeah, yeah. That's very generous, I feel. I think Ethan Hawk is great in it. I think all the acting is good.
Starting point is 00:55:38 I think all the acting is good. I'm sick a movies. . . movie sit and set in the 70s and early 80s? I'm done with that shit? Just find a way to get rid of cell phones. You can do it. Sure. Or have cell phones and make it so that they're useless, something. Yeah. Yeah. How about you? I'm going to be less generous. I thought it was, I like that it's short enough to not ruin your whole evening. Well, you know. It's just a mishmash of other things. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. I. I. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. I. It's. I. I. I. the. I. the. I. I. the. I. I. I. the. I. I. the. I. I. I. I. the. I. I. I. I. I. It's. It's just a mishmash of other things. It's Stephen King's Stories and I swear to God this M-Night Shambalon movie that haunts me. And the video games she played as a child. And the video games I played as a child.
Starting point is 00:56:17 I'm still playing them. Also, there's a new Monkey Island coming out later this month. I'm so excited. The first one since like the 2000s. Monkey's back, baby. Guy Brush 3, but it's back. You know what that means? No. Nah.
Starting point is 00:56:29 He's a mighty pirate. Someone out there is laughing. Could you tell that I couldn't? Because I just glasped over. Yeah, you're like, help. but I don't think it's anything special. Okay. Yeah. Five. Five Arino for me. Middle of the road, baby. Yeah. The kids are, I think the kids acting are special.
Starting point is 00:56:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah, I mean, Ethan Hawks great, but I think you kind of wasted Ethan Hawk. Yeah, I agree with that. And I also think that like there has to be the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is the the thi the thi the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thiats thiats thiats thiats thi, I thi, I thi. It felt very much like, I know you don't play video games really, but playing a video game and having to repeatedly get hints, you know? Sure. Where it's just like a neat.
Starting point is 00:57:13 I just, yeah, I don't, I think that's cheap somehow. I mean, I understand that the point of the story was that Robin had to get him to stand up for himself, but he doesn't have to figure anything out himself. I don't know. Yeah, for sure. And also I don't ever need to watch a child get beaten again. No, and I realize also that the fact that he can quote, take a punch is what has kept him alive. That's what Robin says to him. And that's because his father is a violent maniac. But you know what, I don't really, I thah thah thah thah th th th th tho th th th th th th th th th th th thi that thi that that that that that that that that that tho tho tho tho that that that, I don't tho that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't th. I don't that, I don't that, I don't that, I don't that that that the the. I the. I the. I don't the. I don't the the the the the the the the the the the to to the to a half. We gotta stop talking about this movie before it's a three. Yeah, seriously.
Starting point is 00:57:45 You know what, is a 10 out of 10 every time? What? A message from a patron. Katie, here I go. This is a message that we got from... Billy. Billy. Billy says, holy shit.
Starting point is 00:58:01 Holy s-I've got that way with emails too. Samsies. Ha ha, sorry, around this time, everything got crazy. Found out I was going to be a dad, bought a house, got married, had a daughter, she's fucking amazing. Wow, congratulations on all of your successes and your family and personal life. Bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, those are a th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, thus, th, th, th, th, th, th, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, th, sorry, th, th, th, th, th, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a'a, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha,, bam, so good. That's a lot. Those are a lot of big changes. I hope you're doing well. She's hard. It gets better. It's true. It's true.
Starting point is 00:58:28 It's true. I've always heard around five they get great. Mine's been great for a while. Yeah, they're down. There's a special case. Special case. Never been more honored. You could just call me Billy and you and Katie, he's speaking to me, has been my nightly listen while it worked for a long time and definitely makes every night better. Oh thank you Billy. Also tell Katie this
Starting point is 00:58:55 is where it gets weird. Oh I love this. I said it's in my seat. Also tell Katie for me that every time I get bummed about my Tigers, it's the baseball team. I remember things could be th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I thi thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I the the the the the the theee. to to theeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I'm theee. thee. I baseball team. I remember things could be worse. I could be a pirates fan. Fuck you, Billy, I had nice things to say until that, but it's so true. You're so right. I hate it and it's so right. It's the franchise she deserves after bad-mouthing tremors. Billy! Billy! You were doing so well. That sound you heard was me dropping my mic on Alan's picnic table because I'm furious.
Starting point is 00:59:34 First of all, they have been shitty way longer than I've been bad-mouthing tremors. Ah, second-all, fuck it. What are you gonna do? It's a testament to us. Second of all, fuck it. What are you going to do? It's a testament to us how strongly our opinions affect people. For good and for bad, because I really appreciate Billy's message and I think Billy is doing this with all the love and his heart. But boy have we gotten some mean shit lately.
Starting point is 01:00:02 I've said it before, I'll say it again. If you don't like the podcast, please just turn it off. Just fuck off. Jog on! Just go. Just go. You don't need to send us messages. Yeah. No. Listen, here's the thing. I'm 38 years old. I'm not going to change. Yeah. Yeah, it's fine. I'm not going to stop laughing. Katie's not going to stop being hilarious. Oh that's what they're so mad about is they're like Katie's just too funny that stupid bitch. Katie. Alan. Speaking to stupid things, what are we doing next week? The movie I thought we were recording when we hit record on this episode orphan. Orphan. Orphan. 2019? 2009 is what I meant to say. which we are doing because a prequel has just come out or is about to come out for it. And Alan was like, let's do that. No, let's do it right.
Starting point is 01:00:50 Trying to be sensible here. Let's do it right. Let's watch them in order. I feel like the Scream Franchise really fucked you up on that. I'm just going to say, I feel like watching Scream 2 maybe be like, maybe this being loose loose loose loose what you need to do. Perhaps we do a disservice. To ourselves and the franchise. And you guys who are like that's actually a great movie and we're like, suck a dick. So we're gonna start with orphan. Orphan. And then we'll watch our orphan first kills at some point. And maybe we can do it in our Halloween wrap-up, roundup. Yeah. Or maybe not I don't know. Who can say? Who can say?. And to.
