Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey Katie. Oh, hi, Alan. How are you doing? I'm okay. How are you? You know, just hanging out in the night house. Just hanging out in the nighthouse. Just hanging out in your allegory for depression, huh?
Starting point is 00:00:31 Your allegory for depression in how it affects those around you. Oh, it hurts. Hey, after watching this movie, I would just like to say to you as a loved one and everyone else I know, I'm sorry I guess. Yeah, I'm super sorry for the way that I am. I've really I just you know I'm sorry I'm depressed. Sorry I fucked you all up. I'm gonna stop taking my pills because I don't think I'm worth what's in them. Oh buddy. Just kidding this is a really fun movie. It does I mean it hits that sweet spot that you know I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love I love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love love the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that tho tho that's tho thooooooooooo. the way the the the the. It does, I mean it hits that sweet spot that you know I love, love, love. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Of like, super depressing horror movies. This to me, maybe it's because children weren't involved. This one to me felt way less bleak than Lake Mungo and, what was the one with the dog attack? Dark in the Wicked? the wicked fucked me up too. Was there a child a a a a th th th th th th th that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that one with the dog attack? Dark in the Wicked? Oh, uh... Oh, uh... Oh, dark in the wicked fuck me up too. Was there a child in that? There wasn't.
Starting point is 00:01:28 That was just the week. It was dealing with parental shit. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then, when evil lurks. Yeah. Those, theing about the nighthouse. The nighthouse. Which sounds like a party place.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Sounds like a cool bar I would open. It sounds like a place that Zach would take the rest of the gang to after the peach bit after dark closes. Absolutely. That's a joke for only some of us. This was directed by David Bruckner, who is part of that like Thai West Adam what's his fucking name Adam Wingard crew that did like VHS and stuff? Yeah yeah and he went on to direct and the new Hellraiser movie right? Uh, with a lady pinhead. Uh, yeah, you sure did. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:26 I feel I hated that. It wasn't great. No. No. The ritual was really like. Yeah. Yeah. And this is pretty great.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Spoil it. Like, um, to drop something I read a long time ago and then confirmed, this was basically a spec script for doing a new Hellraiser movie. Oh. Where they were like presupposing that Julia wasn't the bad guy? Wait, how? That she was like the, she was like put upon. And so they were gonna like flip the script on like making her a good character? I don't like that at all. I know. And luckily, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. thi that's thi that's thi thi thi thi thi thi to do to do to do to do to do to do to do thi thi thi to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do to do thing a thing a thing a thing a to do to do thing to do to do to do to do thing thing thing to do thing thing thing thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to do to do the to do to do to do the to do the the. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to do to do to do the to do th were going to like flip the script on like making her a good character. I don't like that at all. I know but and luckily that's not what
Starting point is 00:03:08 this movie does. Yeah. But like once you know that it had like hell razor adjacent ideas going on it's like oh I get it I get it I see that I don't know Alan. I uh well tell me what you see about hell razor in this. Oh um that? I don't know, Alan. I, uh, tell me what you see about Hell Razor in this. Oh, um, that fetish doll that's got a nail jammed in its hoo-ha and its asshole? Oh yeah, there is a nail jammed in a hoo-ha and asshole. Yep, all right, I'm there with you. Yeah, you've done it. But it kind of like the Hellverse, the Hellraiser universe, you're interacting with Hell Hell, but you
Starting point is 00:03:46 don't have to be annoyed why the sex demons? Yeah, I mean, that's my beef with Hellraiser is those fucking sex demons. Yeah, exactly. Just like, relax, Pinhead. You don't even fuck. We'll have an eternity to tickle your butthole. Don't tickle my butthole for eternity. I don't want that. Stop, stop stop that that that's that's that's that's that's that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, tha, that, tho, thia, tho, tho, that's, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I, th. I, th. I, thi. I's, thi. I's, thi. I's, thi. I's, thi. I's, the. I's the. I's thea, thea, thea, thea.a.a.a.a.a.a.a.a. that's thea, thea, thea, thea, th for eternity. I don't want that.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Stop! Oh, it's weird because Alan's making a finger gesture to me over a laptop. Oh yeah, we're zooming again, y'all. It's my fault this time. I'm working too hard. I can't leave my house right now. I'm testing negative for COVID. I know, I'm sorry. I'll see I'm excited to do this either way. Yeah, me too. So we open as all good movies should on a dingy on a lake? Lake people. Living on a lake in upstate New York is like
Starting point is 00:04:34 peak 50 year old white guy and I'm 100% in on that shit. Yeah, the house is gorgeous. Like if you have a lake, you need big windows. And they have their own bathroom sinks. Have you ever known anyone in real life to have to have to have to have to have their to have their their their their their to have their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their good good good good good good good good good good to have their good their good good their good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good good their good good good good their good good good good their good good good their good good their good good their their their their their their their their their their to to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have their to have their their their tho thoooooooooooooooooooooooo thoooooooooooooooooo to have their their their their big windows and they have their own bathroom sinks have you ever known anyone in real life to have their own bathroom sink? Yes the only people I know who have that are rich people. Yeah I don't know anybody everyone I know has one sink and everybody fucking uses it. Yeah yeah yeah. Wild here's how little... here's how little get up and go I have is that my first thought was man I should have married an architect not that I should have been an architect
Starting point is 00:05:18 No I think that's I mean you don't want to go to all that school. That's a lot of student debt. You're not doing that. You marry the architect Yeah Man two sinks though. That's fucking rich the way I figured out that I had like finally made it in my life Was that I could buy goat cheese whenever I wanted but two sinks. That's a new fucking level You've got a goal now in aspiration. I don't there's you've been th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that th. that that th. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. thi. thi. thi. two thi. two thi. two th. th. th. two two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. two. to. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. th. to. th. th. two. two. two. two. th. goal now in aspiration. I don't, there's, if you've been in my house, you can't have two people in that bathroom. Tell that to your daughter. Oh, I do, I do every fucking morning. No dignity. No doubt. So we open on Beth, who is sad. Who played by Rebecca Hall, who I fucking love. I didn't, I don't know if I've ever seen her in anything else, but I thought she was fantastic in this.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Oh yeah. You know how I get super stressed out when it's like one person just acting against nothing? She does it so beautifully in this movie. It harkens back to CM Punk in that Jizz movie. One thing this film could have used, more jizz. More pro wrestling too. Just lighten the mood a little. She has such good, it's not resting bitch face, but it's like resting, I don't care if you continue to exist face. Yes, she's almost like a bit of a mouth breather, but not in like a gosh way, it's more just like a disdainful way. Yeah. Yeah. God I can't pull that off. And I think that combined with like just like when she is laughing she has a great smile very toothy smile, it's very nice. I find her very attractive and I'm like you're not not not my normal type, but like I'm all in.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Yeah, yeah, she's pretty great. She's clearly coming back from a funeral of some kind. She's wearing funerial garb and I think it's raining, which it always rains when there's a funeral. And she's getting a covered dish as she goes in the house and I was like, that's how you tell me someone's at a funeral. That's th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi's thri's thriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii's thi, thi, funeral. That's right. And she throws it home with a covered dish. She throws it immediately into the trash, which I liked quite a bit. Not even given that casserole dish back. That's a 9 by 13.
Starting point is 00:07:30 That's a Pyrex. Those aren't cheap. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. the to corows it in the trash and then 20 minutes later in the movie, she's pulled it back out and eaten out of it. Yeah, you know, you have feelings. We make decisions and we live with them in this world, you know?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Yes. Mm-hmm. We also see her sort of fingering and playing with an envelope. thi too, but she doesn't open it at this envelope. It's a suicide note. I didn't actually know at this point, but I know now. Okay. And she's a fucking belting down bottles of brandy. That lady loves brandy.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Or is it, I thought it was wine at one point because it seemed like they had a bunch of jugs of homemade wine? It was wine at one point, and then she goes into her husband's brandy reserves. Gotcha. And offers it to somebody and they're like, yeah, I don't want that and she's like, I don't either but I'm getting a taste for it. That's right. Yeah, yeah. I don't, any hard liquor.
Starting point is 00:08:46 The only one I wish I could do is like scotch because it like you can talk about it, like a real dickhead. Oh yeah, that's when you get to be super smug and your life is when you get into scotch. You know, it's got a, it's got PD notes, it tasks like earth and horse blanket. Okay, tho clear liquors because they don't make me as insane as brown liquors do. Okay, yeah. I can drink gin all night and be fine. You give me some like bourbon. You're getting a different Katie, you know. Oh. Oh. I was gonna say the only clear liquor I could drink is aqua veat and that's because it tastes like anus. Yeah, your favorite. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm. Is the. It. It. It. It. It. It. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I the only. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I. I. Yeah. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I I I I I I I I I I. I I I I. I I I I. I I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. say the only clear liquor I could drink is aqua veat and that's because it tastes like anus. Yeah, your favorite.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Is the only time anyone ever watches their wedding video after their spouse dies? One thousand percent. Guys, if you're getting married, don't don't make a video. Don't you'll never watch it unless your spouse is dead, in which case you're just feeling sad. It's right up there with like making a sex tape like when am I going to watch this? Unless you're making it to make money on it, don't bother. And you're certainly not making money on that wedding video. Would people start jerking off to those? Or unless like the bride falls into a pool, in which case maybe America's funniest home videos will pick it up, I don't know. Oh, Bob Sagitt. God rest his soul. Oh, oh, no, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. tho. thi. thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theee. theee. theee. thee. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th money. God rest his soul. Oh, yeah, old Uncle Jesse. Oh, no. No. Shhh, move on. So she's in bed. There's an empty pillow. It's all very stereotypical, lost my husband. Yeah, yeah, but it's got enough like jujed to it, then I'm like, oh, what's going to happen while she's
Starting point is 00:10:21 rubbing that pillow where there's no husband. No husband on that pillow, but someone knocks on the door. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, their, their, their, their, their, th, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. Oh, th. Oh, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. Oh, thooooooooooooooo. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, th. Oh, their, their, their,, oh, what's going to happen while she's rubbing that pillow where there's no husband? No husband on that pillow, but someone knocks on the door. Yeah, and then they're pounding on the door. Don't just fucking do that, it's dark out. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. She's wearing a linen sleep shirt, which at first I was like, the scene goes on, it gets more and more wrinkled, and I was like, bad idea, a linen sleep shirt. Oh, yay, yay. She sees that the basement door is a jar? But there's a nice basement. It's a fancy basement. It is a fancy basement with a case of brandy in it.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Yeah, like when she goes, I was like, oh, don't go in that basement. And then she goes down, I was like, whoa, that's nicer than my whole house. All right. But did you notice when the basement door like swings open and you see the shadow standing in the door? Yes, I really like the different ways in which this incorporates like the man's head in shadow, because it's in several scenes and it's very good. It's reminiscent of a little film called Hell House LLC, in which things are happening in the background, you know? Yeah, yeah, it's also, I like it because it's, it's that like quarter of your eye horror
Starting point is 00:11:37 that we all experience on a daily basis, of just like, what was that? But it's also like, the answer's cat, 90% of the time. Sure, sure, yeah, yeah, yeah. Or as what happened to me last night, a Mayfly that had gotten an house and flew directly at my eye. Oh, fucker. But, like, but it's also like, okay, so this is all on her head, because obviously we're not seeing anything. It's all without, you that's that, that, that, that, isn't. She wakes up to the sound of an alarm to which I got very angry because I feel like if my spouse dies I am entitled to not have an alarm for like weeks. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:14 Yeah. I'm sleeping in. That is the getting straight days in college when your roommate dies of adulthood. Exactly. You don't have to go to work for a while. And they the the. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. that. Yeah. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to that. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I that. I that. I that. I that. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I to to to to to to th. I to th. I. You don't have to go to work for a while, and they'll probably keep paying you. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Get that FMLA. FMLA, not what that's for. Hmm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Plus, they don't pay you on FMLA because this is America. that's right. It just means they can't fire you for 12 weeks. Only if your company has 100 or more employees. Let's not talk about labor law. When she gets up in the morning, she sees that the gate to the dock was open, and that there are like dried footprints coming up from the dock. Muddy, bloody footprints. Muddy, bloody. I thought it was just mud. It's not just mud. It's not. It's not. No, it's not. And she, uh, here's a gunshot from across the lake as well. Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:09 But that's not in common. No, no, you're going to be out there shooting things. Yeah, yeah. I mean, I would just shoot that lake just for fun. Gotcha. She's at work. She's at work. Why is she at work? Because she doesn't want to deal with which she has to deal with at home so she goes to work. I would go anywhere else. I would go to the movies. But I'm not a real work-through it kind of person. I mean I need a sick day
Starting point is 00:13:34 kind of person. Yeah yeah. I'm a little little tiny bitch. That's why we get along so well we're just a couple little missions do a podcast. We should have called this podcast a little tiny bitches. The wee bitch podcast. It's not too late. Oh God, summer's over and we never did our line of duty podcast. We said we were going to do it in the winter. I fucked up. I fucked up. I got it. We moved it off to winter. We put it on the books for later. You you. You you. You you. You you. You you. You you. You you. You you. You you. You you. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're right. You're th. You're th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. We. the. We're the. We're the. We're to. We're to. the. to. the. the. We're thi. We're the. We put it on the books for later. You're right.
Starting point is 00:14:06 So she is a teacher. She's finishing out the school year with her teacher best friend Claire. Claire. Claire's a doll. Yeah. Yeah. Do you know her from anything? She was familiar, but I don't know.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Did you watch the HBO series? I know the answer to this, but I'm going to ask anyway. The answer is already no. So the HBO series starring Bill Hater, Barry? No. She plays his love interest in that. She's very good. Okay. All right. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. yeah. There's this great interaction where a parent comes into Beth's office or Beth's classroom and starts talking to her about her son Hunter who got a sea in speech And she's like we all have personal matters to deal with sometimes this bitchy mom
Starting point is 00:15:01 I love that she goes Witch hunter Yeah, three. I have three hunters I. I love the se. I love the the the the the the to. I, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, uh, the, uh, the, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to, to, to to to to to to to to to to the, uh, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the their the the, witch hunter? Three, I have three hunters. I love the seed because I feel like A24 saw the seed. It was like, damn it, we should put this movie out. Yeah, this is elevated horror. This is uncomfortable and I loved it. Beth leans in and says, my husband shot himself in the head last Thursday with a handgun I didn't even know we owned. And the mom goes, a bee is fine. I don't care what grade your son gets.
Starting point is 00:15:34 Yeah. Oh, she's good. She's good. So she, did we just then see her like collecting some boxes. She's gonna box up Owen's stuff. That's the husband. Yeah, I can't tell how long it's been since he died, but she's really getting rid of his shit quickly.
Starting point is 00:15:53 Then I started thinking, like, would I? I don't know. I know a lot of elderly people when their spouse passed will just get rid of everything. I don't need this stuff, and all it's gonna gonna th going to do th going tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, don't need this stuff and all it's going to do is make me sad. Yeah, but what about like yeah I don't know. Why would Missy keep my clothes around? No yeah you know? I don't know I could wear most of Rob's clothes so I might keep them. He's got a lot of good t-shirts. It's up there with the like when do you take a dead person's number out of your phone conversation. Oh, I've never take dead people's numbers out of my phone. I keep them forever. Yeah. No, I'm never taking some people's numbers out of here. Well, this got dark.
Starting point is 00:16:37 It's a dark-yft movie. Hey guys, if you're into like battle attack or warhammer, let me know, and when Rob dies, you can have to come come come come come come come come the the the the the to come come come come come come come come come the their their. their. to come. to come. to come. to come. their. to come. to come. they. to to to they. to to to to be. their. they. their. to. to. to. to. to. to. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. I'm. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t. t to come pick it up because I'm not I'm not dealing with it. Okay. I have a note that says someone's on her dick and realize that auto correct change doc to dick. Oh I like that for you quite a bit. It was like listen I know what you meant. And the person is Mel who is her neighbor who has strong Carl Wethers vibes about him so instantly I love him. I'm the is Mel, who is her neighbor, who has strong Carl Weathers vibes about him, so instantly I love him. Mel's great, yeah. And he's telling her about how he covered the boat for her because he could see the bad weather was coming in and that she and Owen were, you know, angels when his wife Shelly passed away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And he's also like, just let me know and I'll get rid of the boat. Like, because we find out that's where Owen killed himself. Yeah, see that'd be the first thing to go. You're not getting in that boat again. No, no. Especially because we see her looking at other houses online when the mom comes into her classroom. Yeah, she's all over Zillow. They were really reasonably priced houses too. I was like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like like the the to to the to the to to the to to the to to. I to the to. I the to. I to. I to. I defy you to find a house in the Hudson River Valley. $275,000.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Suck my flaps. Or as Alan said, right before we hit Record, that he was going to kick me in the flaps. But now the footsteps are gone. The muddy, bloody footprints are gone. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Yeah. And so she's putting all of Owen's shit in bags and boxes and comes across a, or a book that he'd been using for his architectural drawings that she had given to him, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Yes. As it's going on, the architectural drawings start getting more esoteric. Yeah, it starts with drawings of the house that they live in. Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm,'s, as it's going on, the architectural drawings start getting more esoteric. Yeah, it starts with drawings of the house that they live in. And then you get to a page that says like, reverse floor plan, I think. Yeah. Right. And then he's writing like, circles and mazes and things that just say like confusing patterns. Is that what you learned at architecture school? But it's like and one of them says like confusing patterns to trick them. Trick it don't listen to it. Yeah. Yes. And then it says Cardroia which is a word I've not I'm not familiar with. So I looked it up. Yeah. It is a Welsh word that means turf maze. Oh. yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Always wanted a turf maze. Really? I mean, wouldn't it be cool to have a hedge maze in your yard? Yeah. I mean, we don't have yards that big. I figured go for that second sink and then the hedge maze. I think I'd get more joy out of the hedge maze than the sink, honestly. I've been sharing a sink my whole fucking life. It's true, it's true. But imagine the sink that you're the only one who spits in it. I mean I have lived alone, so I guess I've had my own sink. So I guess
Starting point is 00:19:31 I've already gotten there. You've already lived the dream. I've lived the dream that almost feels like a wormhole between the two houses which is very interesting. And it's also because I've seen this before so I was paying close attention to like little details. Yeah. I think the fetish doll is the thing that's in the center of the two things flipping back and forth. Interesting. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So then she goes to sleep, as you do, after you find that your husband's making nightmare mazes.
Starting point is 00:20:12 She's just like, oh, I'm done with this. And then music starts playing on the speakers. Now, this would scare the shit out of me. Yeah, no one wants to wake up to folk rock Rock in the middle of the night. I feel like I would just run right out the door and into the lake. Like goodbye, you know. Just a Katie shaped hole in the wall that she'd go through. Through the window, those fucking lake windows. Oh man, it's so nice.
Starting point is 00:20:33 Honestly. I feel like this house is just asked to be broken into the thii. Because if we let, we're city people. We're like, lock those fucking windows and maybe put a bar on them. So she gets a text message from Owen that says, come down. And then don't be afraid. Yeah, good spookery. The record stops. So she calls him, which I don't think I would do. No, no, and it gets answered. He picks it up, but it's like a static kind of distorted voice saying Beth look out the window
Starting point is 00:21:05 Yeah, yeah And what's out the window Katie? I don't know because my next noot just says butts on the water? You got it? What is that? Owen's naked standing on the water. Got a great butt. Tushy towards the window. Yeah, buts on the water. Fire in the sky. But it was all a dream. It was all a dream. Yeah. No text. So she finds his phone, plugs it in, nothing unusual. Yeah. Except a photo of a dark-haired woman that looks like her but she isn't sure is her. Yeah. She shows the Claire, and Claire's like, I'm pretty sure that's you.
Starting point is 00:21:46 Her friend's like, you're fucking insane, yeah, yeah. Claire goes a little hard in the get over paint for me. Well, she says that, like, why were you going through his phone anyway? Yeah. But then she's immediately, like, I'm sorry I said that, that was stupid and insensitive. So I give her a pass. You don't know what to say when your best friend's husband kills himself. It's true. It's true. And Claire invites her out for drinking with the co-workers, which I'm sure is going
Starting point is 00:22:13 to go fine. With some disillusion teachers. Gary, Gary's a no-Suck. Scary sucks. He's doing some serious mansplaining of things. Right. They're talking about ghosts. Yeah. And sleep paralysis and sleepwalking. We learned that Owen started sleepwalking a year or two after he built the house. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Or was he? No, I don't know. Wasn't he? I mean, he was sneaking out in the middle of the night, so was the sleepwalking just to ruse. Have you ever sleepwalked? No. Thankfully, have you?
Starting point is 00:22:50 Really? So scary. So scary. I went into the bathroom and just did some weird shit and went back to bed. to the, I did, my parents told me that I once woke up in up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up up in the the the to to to to to to to to the to to the to to to to to to their to to told me that I once woke up in the middle of the night, walked over to the like clothes hamper that was in the hallway, and just open it up and pissed right into it. Were you drunk? No, I was six.
Starting point is 00:23:12 You know what? You would only been peeing in a toilet for less than half your life at that point. I don't fault you on that one. That feels like a toilet. But I was not awake when I did it. So yeah I have slept walked. Slept walked. Yeah. So Gary starts asking like tough questions like just getting way more personal than he needs to. He's like you really had no idea. Yeah. And then she's like and then the I didn't catch the other woman's name that's not Claire or Gary. I don't know that she's given a name. Yeah. She says well did he leave the note the the the the the the the he he he he he he he he he left he left he left he left he left he left he left he he left he left he left he he he he left he he he he he he he he he he he to to he left to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he he the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to the the to to the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the, I didn't catch the other woman's name. That's not Claire or Gary. I don't know that she's given a name. Yeah. She says, well, did he leave a note?
Starting point is 00:23:49 Yeah. And everyone's like, whoops, nope? Why did I ask that? Yeah, she pulls it out of her purse. And the woman goes, oh, you carry it in your purse. Yeah. And it's got blood on it. the the the their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the note say? Uh, something that I believe deeply in my heart. You are right, there is nothing, nothing is after you, you're safe now. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Yeah. Why is, we got to get into why that is the message. Oh, okay. I can explain it now or later if you would like to explain it now. So, um, basically that he knew that nothing was chasing her, and nothing is the thing that's like pretending to be him. Okay, so it's a double, double usage of this word where nothing, he was, there's nothing actually chasing her because he was the one that was chasing her physically.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Yes. Yes. All. But but but but. But then it gets more scurry because as we learn he wasn't actually trying to harm her. This thing was like fucking with him to make him think he wanted to harm her. Right. So like again, why her passing her trauma on to him. Right. Right. Because we learned that she died when she was growing up in Tennessee in a high high school car accident was dead for like four minutes. People asked her what it was like and she would say like she didn't remember but truthfully there was just nothing. It was just a long tunnel. Yeah. And I love the way she talks about she's like I died when I was in 17. When I was 17. I was in a car accident, rolled over a mountain, a mountain. A mountain ton ton ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten ten te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te. te. te. the te. the the the the the te. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. te. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. tea. te. te. t way she talks about, she's like, I died when I was 17, when I was 17, I was in a car accident, rolled over a mountain, pancaked.
Starting point is 00:25:29 Pancaked? What a joyful word to describe being smushed. And she saw nothing when she died. And like, I used to have a terrible fear of death, like crippling at times. And then one day I was just like, I realized that there's nothing after you die. And that like was such a relief to me. Like that there's nothing, like, there's nothing. I'm just living when I'm living and then I'm not.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Yeah. I hope that's true. I hope it's not just a long dark hallway forever. Sure, yeah, how nightmares would that be? Yeah. But they can't do that to everyone. That can't happen to everyone, right? Then you get into the good and the bad, and then you're Catholic and I just can't.
Starting point is 00:26:13 I just can't. I love it. Like, Claire is a good friend. She's like, do you want me to say, I'll just call my husband until I'm not coming home? She's like, no, just stay until I fall asleep. And I feel like stay until I fall asleep is such a sweet thing to do for a friend. Yeah, that's, you trust and love someone. Yeah, but then of course she wakes up screaming, or the house. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:26:45 And she says you want to say something, talk to me, which I again would not yell at my haunted home. I have no balls. And then she goes out into the woods at night with a flashlight. Yes, and there's a woman like yelping and running and then there's two women that both look like her. They're wearing different outfits, but one of them is the blouse from the photo and then a third woman materializes and runs from behind her and jumps off the edge into the lake and you're just like, the fuck man?
Starting point is 00:27:14 I find this scene very unsettling. So unsettling. Especially the woman coming from behind her, their out of nowhere. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And one of them's running in just a shirt and her underwear. Yeah. Like, it's, ugh. Yeah. Not that I'm scared of underwear.
Starting point is 00:27:33 Just the idea that's all be running into the woods and just to turn their underwear. Women, I'm going to need you to take your underwear off. It's women's underwear, man. Scares me. I was attacked by a thong as a child. I just have a lot of panty drama. People are mad at me for saying panty, I bet. I was gonna say, next we're gonna say moist and just send him into a tissue. Did it for me? As this is happening, she looks up across the lake and she sees a house with the lights on.
Starting point is 00:28:03 Yeah. No window is not there. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. She looks at the boat. She looks back up. The light is gone, the house is gone. But the boat is still there. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:28:14 And the voice tells her to go to the crime scene tarp and blood and I guess his clothes in it. Yeah, because he took all of his clothes off and like neatly folded them and put his boots next to himself. He's gonna be mad when he finds out she's just throwing that shit in the garbage. But now there's footprints on the dock again. Yeah. And she says if you're with me, show me. Beth girlfriend, you are losing it. I know, I know. She gets knocked back by some invisible force into the boat. Yeah. Which sends the boat across the lake. Yeah. And it's a blood moon all the sudden. Oh my god, if I believed all of this was happening, I would be hiding under the blankets in my bed. I would not be out here, fuck it about. Forever, ever. And she's awoke and she's awoken when the boat hits the other shore.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Yes. Yeah. And what did she see, Katie? What did she see? Another house on the other side of the lake with women who look like her walking around and looking out the goddamn windows. And then she sees her husband with one of them kissing her from behind, but then they're fighting. It's very upsetting. I really like when she goes around front and goes in the house,
Starting point is 00:29:32 and the number for the house is not just reversed numerically, but the numbers are flipped. Yes, it's like you put them on backwards. And I really like that. I love that. I love later in the movie too when she looks at the clock and the numbers are backwards, which indicates that she's in the like the other side. Oh, yeah. Oh, look at these goosebumps. Can you see that? It's so good spookery? Good spookery. I love this scene too because she walks into the house and as soon as she opens the front door she sees herself sleeping at her house and thinks. Yeah., the key is in the same place under the same pot or whatever. But then she wakes up, the scene cuts to her basically waking up in her front door opening, but nobody coming in. Yes. So fucking good. You gotta move. You're done, Zell. Yeah, sell this place. You're gonna sell this place. Even with a recent death of this place. You're gonna, you, you, you, you, you, you sell this place. Even with a recent death of this place, you're gonna make a mint because it's totally sweet.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Oh yeah, oh yeah. Yeah. So she gets out his laptop and finds a ton of photos of women that look like her but are not her, different with it. Yeah. And then she goes for a walk and encounters Mel, and the try to like, the too th. Mel who is trying to like hurt her away from the house seemingly. Yeah, and you're like, oh, Mel's in on this somehow. Mel knows something. And he invites her for a sandwich for lunch. It turns out he's really just trying to keep her safe. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. She sees a slash and a tree trunk, which points at the other house. But when she gets there in the daytime, it's all overgrowngrown the day the day the day time ti grown ti grown thea grown th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thrown. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. M. M. M. M. M. M. M. M. M. M. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, gets there in the daytime it's all overgrown and like board it up and there's just like tarp hanging and stuff. Yeah it's an unfinished house. It's wild. I like it. Obs you're going to go inside. Obviously you're going to find a leather case and just go put your hand inside of it.
Starting point is 00:31:17 And obviously it's going to be a weird statue of, you're right, a pinhead fantasy. Yeah a woman like bent over backwards with sticks in her vivis. Yeah, and like nails all throughout her, but specifically in her hoo-hu-ah in Amos. Yeah. While she's in here, she hears creaking floorboards from upstairs, but is not particularly disturbed by this bit of information. What are you going to do, huh? I don't know. It's the woods? It's probably a bear, you're fine. Yeah, yeah. It's probably just a little baby squirrel. So she goes to Mel's. Yeah. And Mel drops some knowledge on her. Yeah, yeah, some Mel bombs. Which is that he used to see Owen wandering around in the middle of the night from time to time. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the the th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi this this thi this this this this this this thi, this this thi, this this thi, this this thi this this this thi thi this thi thi thi thi thi this thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the night from time to time.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Again, why I think the sleepwalk he was bullshit. Yeah, that makes sense. Yeah. And he asked, Owen asked Mel not to tell her. Because Owen saw him with a woman. Yeah. Or Mel saw Owen with a woman. Yeah. He said that the woman looked so much like her that he called out to her. And then Owen showed up at his front door telling him that he had urges. That he was shy. Shameful urges. I mean, we all have shameful urges.
Starting point is 00:32:34 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, like kicking a horse right in the dick. I wouldn't because I know I can't. It's like that thing where you just want to grab a cop's gun, you know? Yeah, I was thinking more than I'm glad that incognito will never track all the things that I've looked up in that window. Oh yeah, that's totally private. So, my shameful urges. Beth asks Mel like, well, what kind of urges? And Mel, you'll forgive me for not asking. Yeah. You're a good guy, Mel. Katie, I don't want to know what your shameful urges are. Alan, I just told you.
Starting point is 00:33:11 And everyone. I feel like that's A, not shameful for you, and B. I'm not ashamed, actually, yeah, I'm not ashamed. It's like when I realized I didn't have guilty pleasures. Yeah, that's fair. Okay, wait. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I don't want the, I don't the. I don't want the, I don't want the, I don't want the, I don't want the, I didn't have guilty pleasures, I just liked what I liked. Yeah, that's fair. Okay, wait, I just want to say one thing here. This now says I'm down to 17 minutes at 28%. So I'm going to, I think I'm going to save this audacity file just so we don't lose
Starting point is 00:33:36 any of this. So she finds a bunch of his occult books. Yes, including one called the t. Yeah, that's a great pronunciation of that. I watched a lot of Welsh TV. Sure, sure. And in that book she finds the fetish doll in drawing form and Owens drawing of the fetish doll. Yes, and it's there's just written in the margins like decoys and deceptions and simple mazes and reverse spaces to confuse or weaken dark forces. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The book is stamped. Oh yeah. Oh well you're I mean look you know how to confuse and weaken a dark force. You're a force for light and good. I'm sorry you were going to say. The book is stamped with where it was purchased something that has were going to say.
Starting point is 00:34:25 The book is stamped with where it was purchased, something that has never happened to me in my entire life. Nope. But the book was purchased at a place called Books and Melodies. Yeah. And so she goes there. It looks cool. I'd like to go there.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Just like a nice little bookstore. Love little bookstores. Oh, no, before she goes there, she sees the first time we see like her standing in the kitchen and there's like a pillar and has the woodwork in the column. That turns into a negative space face that turns to face her. It's the full like upper body of a head, neck and torso of a man. It is such a good like optical illusion spookery. I I I I I I I I I. I the the the the the th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th turns to face her. It's the full like upper body of a head, neck, and torso of a man. It is such a good like optical illusion spookery.
Starting point is 00:35:09 I love it. I have two notes to say, very good, well played. It says, the voice has come back, to which I was saying, maybe don't go back. So then she goes to the bookstore. And this is where she sees the woman that was in the photos that her husband had taken, after she annoys a guy at a front desk. She's being sort of rude to the guy who was just trying to work at a bookstore while having a ponytail, which is every American's right?
Starting point is 00:35:33 Yes, yes. Yes. But she confronts the woman, there are pictures of you on his phone, and she's, she's fresh out of fucks to give. Yeah, yeah. So she tells woman, there are pictures of you on his phone, and the matter has been resolved, I guess. He's dead, suicide. So matter of fact. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:58 And the girl's like, blee, blee. She says, take your hair down, take your ponytail out because you slept with my husband and I'm asking you nicely. Yes. Oh, oh. Oh, yes. The things people say. Mm-hmm. She does.
Starting point is 00:36:15 She takes it down. And it's just to confirm that she kind of looks like her. Yeah, I mean, I skid see that from her fucking face. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But this woman denies having slept with him. She says she barely knew him. And? And the end. The end of the movie. How are you doing on time now?
Starting point is 00:36:37 Oh, fuck. 13 minutes 21% Katie, Alan. Welcome back to this episode of Where I'm Fabulant. You know, it was nice to take a three-day break from recording this single episode and to finish it on a Sunday morning. Uh-huh, uh-huh. Got my coffee, uh-huh. That's it?
Starting point is 00:37:03 I've got, I've had no coffee yet, and I've got my scratchy morning voice. Oh, yeah. People are gonna find it sessy. Sessy, I'm sure you record my voicemail. Don't call me. Hi, hang up a fucking phone, don't you. Just the thing that says voice mail. the thii.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Foultuck. I remember how to get in here. Yeah. Every time I get a voice, I was like, the fuck do I do that again? I think you just press it. Don't you just press the thing that says voice man? Now, yeah. Oh, yes. Yes, no codes. Yeah, no codes. No, no, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:32 So this movie. So this to be blamed for any. No, it's actually like every step of the way, everything that lined up to cause this to happen is a choice that I made and made badly. And you know it. Oh, so we're back and we're together again. We're together. It's true. It's nice to see your face in person. Yes, and you. Yes. So she goes to Clare's. Yes. Clare's like stop going through his stuff. You're like, oh he was fucking you too, right? Oh right, that's gonna come out, right? That's gonna, yeah, yeah. Because she's like he had a secret life. Leave it alone. Yeah, leave what? We all have secret lives. She does say that. And I was like, Claire, what do you doing girl? You nasty. Which is funny because in Barry Barry, what? th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. Cla. Cla. Cla. th. th. the. Clare. the. the. the. the. the. the. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to Claire, what are you doing, girl? You nasty. Which is funny because in Barry, she has an extremely secret life. What is that about?
Starting point is 00:38:28 That's about, Bill Hater is a hitman, and it's a comedy show. So go from there. But it's like an HBO comedy show, so it's like, you know, sad, funny. that, uh, I want to call it slacks, but that's not right. What's the name of that show with Jean Smart? Hacks. Hacks. Yeah, you liked that a lot. I like that a lot. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:49 I of course didn't see it. Sometimes we need to go on vacation and it's just gonna be a bed and Jerry's and fucking Netflix vacation where I love that idea. Let's just rent an Airbnb and watch TV for a month. We both get sweatshirts where we cut the neck out enough that our shoulders can hang out one time. Yeah, I like that. We're just sit around and eat ice cream and watch. We're both going to need progressively larger
Starting point is 00:39:16 pairs of sweatpants through the month. Maybe that's why to go through everything the man shot himself She should go through everything she should go through his phone for sure. Yeah I did like that when Claire's like fine I'll get a room I'll go stay someplace else I won't do it anymore and Claire's like oh Okay, I love you. Yeah, and Beth says a nothing. A nothing. Oh, oh? Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the they, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th.. And Beth says, a nothing. A nothing, yes. Oh, yo-y. But to Claire's point, she's like, you know, not everything gets finished. You may never know what he was thinking and he's gone and you're not.
Starting point is 00:39:56 So you have to live, like, yeah. Which is a good friend thing to do. It is, especially if that's the way that you would do it yourself, I think. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. She's also outside having a secret mom smoke, which you know I love. Yeah. Yeah. I figured you would be a fan of Claire and her secret mom smokes. Big fan. Yeah. She's also extremely, seems to be extremely dismissive of her husband. Bob. It's also his name is Bob, which is a man you can dismiss right. Bob's a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thin th. thin the. theeee. thin the. the. thin the. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Bob come on. Yeah, Bob's getting yelled that a lot it feels like. Yeah, yeah, as he should be. Fucking Bob. Fucking Bob. Fuck. So she goes back to the house and she's packing up and she tells the ghost she's leaving. Yeah, she says if you have anything to say to me, you better say it now. Which like, don't test the ghost. Don't te to to to the ghost, the ghost, to be, the ghost, th. th. th. th. th. th. the, th. the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. You gotta be like those
Starting point is 00:40:45 uh those Janko wearing ghost hunters that like come at me bro. Yeah I guess you're right. I will fight you. Will you? Oh they would have been so nice if they were the ones who discovered that they're actually were ghosts by getting their ass beat by ghosts. I mean I like the idea of pushing, I mean personally I would never test a ghost, but I like the idea of pushing a ghost, so far that it attacks you. It physically manifests and murders you. I like that. Like you keep standing in its way so it can't leave the bar and it's finally like I'm gonna have to knock you out. Like I'm gonna have to glass you. Yeah. Oh no. You just see a glass coming through the air? That's so good. Who threw that? Nobody th that the th that nobody the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their ghost. No. their their ghost. No. No. their ghost. their g. their go go. the go. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. G. You just see a glass coming through the air? That's so good. Who's through that? Nobody was a ghost hand.
Starting point is 00:41:27 So then there's a knocking at the door, of course. Of course. And? It's Madeline. She'd been here before. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was gonna fuck your husband, just so she knows. Yeah, well she didn't know he was married. She's allowed to want to fuck him.
Starting point is 00:41:45 Sure. Sure. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. She said that he showed her the other house and he was like a giddy about it. Which I feel like maybe I would not fuck him then. I feel like I'd be like, well, this man has problems. You know, you don't want want to want to want to want to want to want to want to want to want to want to want to want to let to its dick in you. Or counterpoint.
Starting point is 00:42:06 He's sometimes you got a crazy fuck. Yeah, not this kind of crazy. Not choke you, then cry on you and you're still like, maybe. Yeah. Maybe. Choking, crying, building a weird opposite house. I think I'm out. I think those are deal breakers. And because of that, not just crying. Crying is fine. You can cry. Cry is fine. Yeah, well, maybe not prequitis. Wait until after.
Starting point is 00:42:30 I only fuck men who cry during sex. Because that's what does it for me. That's actually my thing. Tears is Loob. You know, I've said it a hundred times. Isn't that the hit song of the hit the hit the hit the hit th song th song th song th song th song th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thoes thoes thi. It might be. Or Boytown. Oh, I love Boy Town. Boy Town or Boyzone? I never remember. I don't know. You think I should remember this? So Madeline tells all this and then she takes off.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Yeah. And Beth's like, you know what, I'm not going to leave. Yeah. Before Madeline leaves you, she's thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, to to to be tooom, to be tho, tooom, tooom, tooom, tooom. tooom. tooom. tooom. tooom. tooom. to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to be to too. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. tho, tho, too. too. too. tooooooooooooombou. tooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. too. to finish. Yeah. Before Madeline leaves you, she says, I probably misread him. Bitch, he choked you. You don't misread that. I feel like in the internet age, though, kids just don't know what to expect. Fucking women, go on. I feel so bad for kids that are introduced to sex now on the internet. Yeah, and just fumbling. Like, you, you, you, you, thu thousand. It's true. We had to learn about it from like anatomy textbooks.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Yeah, and just fumbling. Yeah, fumbling. Lots of fumbling. Fumbling. Trying to figure out what goes where? Where goes where? No. Nope.
Starting point is 00:43:34 No. Oh yeah, nope. No. God, no. Maybe, no. At least maybe men of today will know where a clit is. You can cut me saying that if you want, or you can leave it if it's funny. Well, if I follow it up, that's a myth so no one needs to know about it. Okay, now it stays. Now it stays.
Starting point is 00:43:54 So Beth goes back to the other house. Yeah. Of course she does. Of course she does.. drunk and puts her foot through a hole on the floor. He's doing a shit job building this one. Well it's like it's all like it's I like it because the first time she went there was a complete house right? When she went there and like yes, yes, and when she's watching them all at the windows. Yes, it's her house, yes. But and it's a complete home, it's just flipped. Yeah. And I like that when she goes goes th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th tho tho tho thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thoes thi thi thi thi's liked, tho- tho- tho- tho- thi. It's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, it's thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. theeeea. It's thea. It's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's like, it's thi. It's th. It's her house, yes. Yes, yes. And it's a complete home, it's just flipped. And I like that when she goes back to revisit it without sort of that occultation of
Starting point is 00:44:30 the like the magic over it to make it look real. It looks like a shit hole. Yeah, it's just like plywood and tarps and stuff. Like a kid's fort. And she's talking to the ghost, foot goes through the floor, what's under the floorboard, Katie? Dark-haired woman wrapped in plastic, and then there's a bunch of them. Yeah. That's so good. It's so good. It's so gross. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She calls Claire and says that she saw something. Yeah. And she just puts down the phone, doesn't hanging up, right? Oh, is that what happens? I think so. Does that voice going to get sent then? Oh, who cares? Back to voicemail, who cares? So she goes to take a shower? Yeah. And we see again the
Starting point is 00:45:15 the fetish doll with the hoo-ha and butthole nails along with all the other nails? I'm not sure I understand what the purpose of the fetsefew fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fe fea is is the the the the the the th is is that is th is that is that is that is. is. is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is that is? I th purpose of the fetish doll is now that we're back on this. Uh, I don't, I mean, is that like the focal point? Like, is that sort of, isn't that sort of what the fetishes are for? Are you like focus your energy on those things to make things happen? Maybe. Okay. Okay. You got, you already win. That was my, my, my theory behind it. Okay. So then we get th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that that that that that that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. the.. Okay. So then we get the creepy stereo and lights turning off and on. Yes, and there's like, you keep seeing her in reflection, which is like a nice touch because all of these women look like her so it's like her but not quite, you know? Yeah, yeah. And she breaks down. She's just, she's losing her shit as you would. It took like three days before she finally lost it. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. that. that. that's. that. that's that's that's that's that's theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. the. the. the like three days before she finally lost it. I would have lost it day one. One hondo.
Starting point is 00:46:06 And continued to lose it for the next three days. Yes, especially because the music kicks on again. And then when she looks at it, it kicks off. And then she's just gotten out of the shower and she says, oh and where are you? He says here, written in the shower glass fog. The fuck? I would run headlong into that glass door and just hope for death. Why? Because I'd be so scared!
Starting point is 00:46:32 How do you live after that happens? How do you live the rest of your life looking at a shower glass door? So here's where I got the idea that she was just really hoping for a ghost moment? She's like, I'm setting up a pottery wheel, let's do this. I'm calling whoopi. Call in whoopi. You endanger girl. So, and there are wet footprints in the bathroom.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Which is a bit paranormal activity for me, but I'm going to let a slide. Who doesn't love a paranormal act of titties? Yeah, not us, we love them. So she walks th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she th, she. Yeah, not us, we love them. So she walks towards them as you do. Yes, and then she's touching, she's touching nothing, but her fingertips are pressing in. Such a good effect. Such a good effect. Like, it's like she's hitting something solid,
Starting point is 00:47:17 but she's not, it's so good. What is that movie? What is that movie where the woman is being sexually assaulted by a ghost? It was really popular in the 80s. And they like they would have her like the ghost touching her breasts but they did it with air so that it would like dip in where the fingers are supposed to be and stuff. That is cool. But also, you know. Yeah, it's gross.
Starting point is 00:47:40 Oh, that's an amazing effect. Are you sure you're not thinking th thinking th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of th thinking of thing th thinking of thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi the the thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. thi. thi. thi. thi. that's an amazing effect. That's really mean. Are you sure you're not thinking of one of your hallmark, lifetime Christmas movies? Christmas fucking a ghost movie? Nah, they ain't never a bare titty in them things. No, that's true. They'd be a lot better if they were, if there were. I mean, what couldn't be improved? Literally everything. I'll never stop thinking about a castle for Christmas as long as I fucking live The one that you liked
Starting point is 00:48:09 I mean it was yeah, yeah, it's this piece of shit doesn't taste as bad as the other one. I can't believe it gets worse. I can't believe it gets worse And that one at Brooke Shields who's great. Yeah, and Carrie Elwis. Who's there? But, and then the male voice is talking to her, and she says, is this Owen? Owen? No, I'm not Owen. Mm-mm. They're also like getting kind of dirty, dirty. Yeah, it's like that her skin is rippling, you know, yeah. Yeah, from his touches. And she's doing such good physical acting, like she's just fucking killing it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, th. Yeah, their, their, their, their, their, the the the the the male, the male, and their, and their, and their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, yeah. From his touches. And she's doing such good physical acting, like she's just fucking killing it. Yeah, yeah. This is that weird thing of like,
Starting point is 00:48:52 you gonna fuck that ghost. You gonna fuck your husband's ghost. I don't know. I don't know, Alan. This is messing me up. There's a book that I really love called The Fisherman and at one point the spoiler alert for the fisherman, the character meets his dead wife and the first thing they do is fuck and I'm just like yep but is that what we're? Nah I'm not doing that. I don't think so. I feel like I want to chat first. I gotta get warmed up. Maybe the supernatural is foreplay.
Starting point is 00:49:26 You might be right. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So then the door slams after he says no and she's locked in with him. Yes, the glass shatters and she goes to look in the mirror, but she's someone else. She's one of the other women. Yeah. I love this. And for a second you have to be like, is that, oh, the, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, th, th, th, th, th, th, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh that, oh the, what, huh? It's very close, very close.
Starting point is 00:49:46 It's one of the other women from the photos, and then she sees Owen like burst in behind this woman and strangle her, and then bash her head into the glass. It's so fucking scary. Oh, it's terrifying. Yeah, then something grabs her and bashes her head into the glass. This is what I assume the entirety of that new invisible man movie is like. Um, yeah, actually a lot of that, but also like science and technology. Really? Yeah. Because he's like a tech guy. Yeah. And also just like so much domestic reviews.
Starting point is 00:50:16 I watched, I watched that movie. as. the the theater. It always like, thi. th I th. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. tha. thea. tha. this. And then I thought about it later and I was like, I don't like this. I think I didn't see it because the main actor was like doing handmaid's tale the time and I was so mad at handmaid's tale. Yeah, and she's just like a heavy Scientologist too, so like, fuck a new singer of Lincoln Park. What? Why do you know this? Why is this kicking around in your dome? Because sometimes I just fucking doomscroll on Reddit. Yeah. And you come across like the new singer of Lincoln Park is a Scientologist. You're like I'll file that one away. I'll put, I'll make a bid out of it for my show.
Starting point is 00:50:56 I wish I could remember the name of the football player. There was a Pittsburgh football player that was just on Hot Ones. And I asked the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. Oh yeah. And he was like, well it's got to be Neppy. I love Cam Haywood. I love him. Heyward. I want to know who it is.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Yeah. Yeah. I will find Hayward. Hayward, sorry, not Hayward. That's okay. He's like super, super, super charitable. He seems really nice. When my nephew was in Children's Hospital, right after he was born, I saw Cam Hayward like walking around visiting kids. There weren't like, can't he, there's no cameras, no crew.
Starting point is 00:51:37 He was just there just doing it. Oh, that's I was like, I. I. I. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. Yeah. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that. that's, that's that's that's that's that's theeeeeeeeeeee. that. that. that. that. theeeee. theee. the. the. the. the. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like that guy. Yeah. He like, we like a football player. Yeah. I don't know what position he plays, how he good he is at it. He's real good. He's a football player, I knew that. His brother is what is or was also a Pittsburgh Steeler.
Starting point is 00:51:56 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, Kim Hayward. Yeah, Kim, sweet. Maybe I'll watch it. I'll finally watch a hot ones. And it's a truncated one, too. They only do five wings rather than 10. Wait, so it's you just eat progressively hotter wings? Yeah, and get asked questions about your life.
Starting point is 00:52:17 Do you, do people just get real messy, like the faces and stuff? I don't like, I th people, I th people, I th people, I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I feel like eating wings is a really private to me. I again I've recommended this before watch the Conan O'Brien one he loses his fucking mind. He's the greatest. At one point he is just rubbing hot sauce on his nipples like it is just like banana types. What a man. That or the Heidi Klum that or the ti clum that or through the interview, which just tits to the win. Tits to the win. Love Heidi Kloom. One day you'll in, and the next, you're out. Oh, just like fashion. Yeah. Alfitas-Ai. I watch so much Project Runaway with my child.
Starting point is 00:52:54 I have seen so much as well. Yeah, it's a great show. Yeah, yeah. this back to this thing with we somehow we got from domestic violence to Heidi Klum taking her shirt off. Yeah with Cam Hayward in the middle. We're with a Cam Hayward sandwich. That's what Scientology does to you. It's true. So the she turns around in the bathroom doors open again and she can see the digital clock behind her and it's backwards and it gave me legit goosebumps. Yeah and she and the woman whispers hide which is the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th th th th th th th. Yeah th. Yeah th. Yeah th. th. th. th. th. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, and the woman whispers, hide, which is so scary. I like, and all the women look weird. They don't, they look like off somehow that are like hiding under the beds and stuff.
Starting point is 00:53:36 It's almost like their pupils are real big. They look at their own mushrooms. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. There are women hiding everywhere, which is very, very, very scary. And then it's basically just like a house of Frankenstein tore of him killing women if she's being drugged through the house. Yeah, the dark man's sort of shadow is dragging her around. And she's like watching, yeah, watching like little vignettes of her husband
Starting point is 00:54:02 murdering these women. Good, it's good. It's for a horror movie, it's good. It's for a horror movie, it's real good. Were this real life? Very sad. Very bad, very bad, very bad. And then he's sitting next to a fire and a Christmas tree.
Starting point is 00:54:16 It's Christmas the spookiest of holidays. I don't know, it would have been real off footing if he he he he he he he he he he he he he he-land. So this is when we find out that the nothing has been telling her husband to kill her. So he wasn't actually possessed by a demon, he wasn't insane. No. All this is her trauma's fault. Yeah, it's the fault of her for having died. The shadow wanted her back, and the shadow kept whispering to him to give her back. Yeah. And so he tricked the shadow by killing women that looked like her in this backwards house. With mazes and the Kaidoran or whatever the, uh, well-short was.
Starting point is 00:55:03 Yeah, it's, oof. This reveal is like, oh man, so this is like the elevated horror version of what's the movie where death is trying to kill everybody. Final destination. Yeah, it is. In this scene I feel is one of the worst executed in the movie where it's feels very heavy-handed of she's talking to the shadow. The shadow is like, this. This this. This this. This this. This this. This this this. This this this this this this this. This this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this. This this this this. This this this this this. This this this this. This this this this this. This is this. This is this is this is this is the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the one of the worst executed in the movie where it feels very heavy-handed of, she's talking to the shadow, and the shadow is like, I'm what you felt when your heart stopped. And it's spooky, but it's like, this has been really good and artful, and now it's kind of like, and here's why I did it. Yeah, I feel like a lot of films fall at this like reveal. Yeah, and I don't know how else you could have done it. Like, I don't know. Well, it's the the Hitchcock thing of like as soon as you show, it's done. It's done.
Starting point is 00:55:54 Yeah, like, right. But the thing that really lingered with me was the whole like, her trauma is what started this like her, because earlier in the movie she's like I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was the th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I that I was that I that I that I that I that I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I was th. I was th. I was the th. I was the the th. I was the the the th. I was the the th. I was the th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was the th. I started this like her because earlier in the movie she's like I was the one who was fat I was the one who was depressed and I guess I passed that on to him but she's wrong about that sure so it's not actually her trauma that causes it's that death is you're right it's more final destination than it's actually her trauma right it's a death is a death is such a bitch you can say it you can just just just a bitch the th you can just a to th you can just a th a th a th a th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the the. th. the th. the the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the th. the th. the th. th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. that the the. that the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. the. the. the. thuma. Right, it's a death is a little B-word. Death is such a bitch though. You can say it, you can just say bitch. It's okay. We're taking it back Alan. I feel like I can't take you. You're not calling a woman a bitch. You're calling death a bitch and I think that's fine. And also some women are bitches. It's okay. It's okay. I'm here to I'm calling you in. Well some men are th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the. the. the. the. the. ta. ta. ta. ta. te. teatea. ta. tea. ta. tha. ta. thea. the. the., I'm calling you in. Well, some manner also bitches. Yeah, oh my god, my cat is a bitch.
Starting point is 00:56:48 He keeps shitting at the bottom of the stairs. I don't know why, yes. Enzo. I know, does anyone want a ill-mannered, unkind cat? It won't be nice to you. It won't be nice to Lucy. Yeah. I like that we refer to Enzo as it now. He's not even him anymore. No, fuck, I've had.
Starting point is 00:57:09 He's an unnatural force. Yeah, you poop that many times at the bottom of the steps. You lose like status as a beat. Yes, that's right. But yes, he's a bitch. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. thi. thi. to. thi. to. thi. thi. thi. the. thi. thi. thi. thi a red light like the fetish doll and there's two moons One is white and one is red and I love that I was like don't turn into ice don't turn into eyes don't turn and it doesn't it doesn't it It restrains itself from that terrible idea I feel like a Stephen King movie would have had that happen. Yeah, yeah, and then they would have had a sex scene. They were like, Stephen. That's not fucking.
Starting point is 00:57:47 That's not what fucking is. What are you, Don Doolork? He grew up before the internet. You rub bellies real fast, right? Yeah, just you, you position yourself in the shape of a cross, belly to belly. And you go back and forth really. to b b b, to b, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that. Back to back, belly to belly. What if that's your thing? Friction burns. I love it. So the two moons Claire comes over and sees that she's in the boat. Right, and it's daylight. Where Claire is. Yes, but where Beth is. It's night. It's night time. Yes, but where Beth is. It's night thi thi thi. It's. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. What. What, what, what if th. What if that's that's that's th. What's th. What's th. What's th. What if th. What if that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. What if that's th. Right, and it's daylight.
Starting point is 00:58:25 It's daylight. Where Claire is. Yes, but where Beth is. It's night time. It's like, I dubbed it the in between. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, she's on the boat and Owen is there naked reading the note.
Starting point is 00:58:36 Mm-hmm. And I thought, why would he say you're safe now? Did he just think that because that because that because that? Yes. He thought he was taking the nothing with him. Well, that's not what happened. Well, he didn't know that. Well, he shouldn't have assured her that. He's like, I don't know, man, might be bad. And so he's going to kill himself again in front of her. Right. Is the vibe that we get. Yeah. And Claire, is the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that's going. that that that's going. that's going. that's going. thi. thi. thi. that's going. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. he he he he he he he he he he he that. he the. the. the. the. we get. Yeah. And Claire sees that the lock that the cops had put on the gun is taken off the gun and just laying there in the house by itself. That's right. She sees that the gun is missing. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So she sees Beth and the boat. This is so upsetting for Claire. Oh yeah. This is the worst fucking thing. Oh yeah. Yeah. I don't know. Live with Bob's. the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thus. th. thus. th. th. th. Eating Bob's, then when it's Bob's Night to make dinner, he makes tuna noodle casserole, and you're like, fuck you, Bob, you can't put chocolate chips in tuna noodle casserole.
Starting point is 00:59:33 No cinnamon. Who's going for a sweet savory baby? Fucking Bob. You know it was a bitch, Bob. You know it was a bitch, Bob. So Claire swims out to save her. Yes, Claire is a friend. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Mel comes to help too, because he is a friend. He is a friend.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Yeah. Oh, man. And then they've got her on the dock and she's like, I'm okay. And then Mel looks out at the boat. Yes, yes. Claire says you're safe now and they're all looking at the boat. And Bob says, there's nothing there. Mel, Mel, Mel.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Mel says, there's nothing there. And Beth says, I know. And we can see the outline of nothing sitting in. Oh, I loved it. What a great final scene. Yeah. Loved it. Was that the nobody from Family Circus? Look at my arm. Look at my arm. Look at my goosebumps. Oh my god. Was that the what? I'm so sorry I yelled over you? Or the not me from the... Did you read Family Circus? Oh wait? No, you've told me this bitch? I know what no.'re not doing it it's an invisible thing

I got got got got got got the second time, which is always nice to get a more rewarding experience. I loved it. It's a sad horror movie, you know, I'm a sucker. And I really love the whole like how your trauma can affect other people aspect of this film.
Starting point is 01:01:38 And like, be easy on yourself is also kind of a message that comes out of this. I really appreciate that as well. I wish I'd gotten that message. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I liked the ritual, not as much as you did, but I, yeah. And having read the book of the ritual, the fact that they were able to get that movie out of that book, fucking phenomenal. Yeah? The book is kind of silly. Yeah, Rob bought it and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I and I the book it and I the book it and I the book it and I the book it and I the book the book the book the book the book the book the book. the book the book. the book. the book. the book the book. the book. the book. Starting point is 01:02:34 goofy. Yeah, yeah, it's kind of silly. But you know what are you gonna do? They made a great movie out of it? It made a great movie out of it. Was it a Netflix original movie too? Yeah. Yeah. Would you give that movie five stars? Would you give this podcast five stars? Why don't you go on Apple podcast or wherever you're listening and give us five stars? You could do it just like W-N-E-Z0075 did?
Starting point is 01:03:00 W-N-E-Z0-75? You got it? You got it? They said, the stars. All of them. Well give us more than five then, come on. Don't be stingy. Don't be stingy.
Starting point is 01:03:10 You could do anything you put your mind to. Just keep leaving reviews. Just keep leaving stars. I'm jealous. the te being one person you could be friends with. What if we were like a chimera of what would we look like? Can you imagine? I picture your face with my beard?
Starting point is 01:03:36 That's very funny. Can I have my like my like black hair and your full white beard? Uh-huh. Anybody would have photoshop the two of us? Please don't. Starting point is 01:04:01 in a while, even informative. That's not true, but I so appreciate you saying that. Justin Gray just sent us the design for the less you know that will be a t-shirt soon? Yes, I gotta get that up on tea public and we can launch it. Oh my god, the less you know. Which is very funny because we're not dumb people, but we have just assumed this persona of like, man, no less stuff, it's better. I really feel like I am generally one of the smartest people in the room. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:28 But on this, I'm just playing an idiot. Yeah. But I'm a very useful, you know. Did you say youthful? No. You should have. I'm for you back when Alan was on Marveling. What's that?
Starting point is 01:04:41 It's a podcast. I've been an avid listener listener listener listener listener listener listener listener listener listener listener long nights at work more fun and bearable. And they do a thing on there called the Meat Minute, where John gives out recipes for different meat dishes that he makes. Does he really? He's so funny. He has a really good Schwarma recipe that you should check out. Oh, yeah. Do you know what episode it's in?
Starting point is 01:05:18 If you go to their Discord, once that's up and running, I believe they're starting a discord and they're going to have the meat minute recipes will be on there. Okay, I'll just email him for it. The Schwar, but I can, I get it, I get it. I think I have it in my email. Thank you. Katie. Alan. I also want to send a shout out to Tom von Frankenstein. Send us your home address, t-shirt size, and what design you want and I'll send it to you? Of the werewool fabulous t-shirt. Yeah I'm not sending you like a Marveling and Marvel's Marvel's t-st-shirt here. Speaking of things we got in the mail. We got stuff in the mail. We got the unofficial horror movie coloring book? That's so radd. Who sent that to us? Well that Katie was sent to us by one, um, Coffee McCann. I love the return addresses we get on this shit. It's so fun. Thank you,
Starting point is 01:06:28 Coffee McCann. A really fun, here's the Susperea page. Oh my god, I love that. Here's the ring. Oh, I like it. Can I color Pinhead? Do you get to color Pinhead? Do you get to color pinhead? No! Oh, thank you. How kind. So this is something you and Lucy could do together, coloring these four movies. I don't know about this. Kid gets nightmares about everything. What the fuck is that? The exorcist.
Starting point is 01:06:57 Yes it is. Here, Lucy, get your colored pencils. And here, I'll just start putting to to to to to color to to ca to ca to do a project. And here, I'll just start putting money in your therapy account. You think I don't already have that? I feel like that's a very good thing for a millennial to do rather than the college phone, just start funding your child's therapy. I started doing a thing where I was like saving a little bit of money every month where, like when she graduates high, I'll take her on a trip anywhere she wants to go. So I've been trying to do that. But yeah, but I realize now it's probably better spent on therapy. And one more quick shout to a thing we got in the mail, and
Starting point is 01:07:30 this one came a long time ago and I just found the package that I had put somewhere that I shouldn't have. Oh, your silly brain. This is from a tins. Oh, this one is for you. Oh, thank you. Dawson it. Ah! Curse of Chuckie! Sour cherry flavor. Wow, it expires Christmas 2027, which feels like how can you know that?
Starting point is 01:07:55 It's so far away. We have calculated the half life of these candies. Yes. Mark says, saw these and th of you. Hope they taste okay, but if not, maybe save them for Halloween, stab some sour patch kids and leave their bodies around a gingerbread haunting house or something. Oh, thrown, Mark, you're dark and I like it.
Starting point is 01:08:14 What's yours? Oh, it's Halloween, too. Oh, it's at Halloween too, and then I was like, why do I hate myself? Oh, they're like little pez's, kind of. They're like cut out pez. I must try mine out here. I love these tins. They're great for storing stuff.
Starting point is 01:08:34 I'm going to put weed in mine. When I opened this up, the bag, just a puff, just a a puff, just a puff, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just, just a puff, just, just, just, just a puff, just a puff, just a puff, just a puff, just a puffed, just a puffed, just a puffed, just a puffed, just a puffed, just a puffed, just a puff, just a puffed, just, a puff, a puff, a puff, a puff, a puff, a puff, a puff, a puff, a puff of powder came out of it, which I liked quite a bit. Mmm, I like it. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mine are little knives. It's like a past consistency. Oh, so they're mine. I just shoved him in my face so I didn't even notice. Oh, they're both little knives? Uh-huh. Chuckie's got knives too, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, Michael Myers isn't the only knife guy. No, everyone can be a knife guy. No flavor is yours. Um, sugar? Yeah, me too. Thank you, Mark. Thank you, Mark. That was delicious and for giving me a weed tid.
Starting point is 01:09:13 Yeah, I mean a medicine tin. A ti from it. I just say weed now. Oh, okay. I gave up. I. I. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. I don't. Oh, but speaking of calling the cops, what are we doing next week? Call the police. We're doing Dracula, 1979, and who is Dracula? Frank, fucking Langella. Tom Pocock. In the 1979 Dracula, I don't know what this is. I think it's going to be bad. What? Have we done a good Dracula?
Starting point is 01:09:47 Mm-hmm. You love Dracula 2000. No, I didn't. No, I did not. You love Bramstokers, Dracula. I need to give that another chance when I'm not like throwing up pregnant. I think people are too hard on that movie. Yeah, I just... It's silly and it's fun. Yeah, okay. And Keanu Reeves is terrible in it. Ah!
Starting point is 01:10:06 But... Gets his dick bit. So is Winona Ryder. Yeah. And she runs around Brawless for a while and it's pretty great. Okay, all right. Yeah, watch it, not. Yeah, watch it, not.
Starting point is 01:10:15 too'n't thee. spaghetti. I can't promise anything. I cannot make a no spaghetti promise. You know how I am.
