Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, and welcome to another episode of Wearwolf Ambulance. I'm Katie. Hi Alan. How are you? Good. How are you? I'm doing pretty well, Katie. So we just watched a Japanese thriller paranormal ghost story called Juwan the Grudge from 2002? Yeah. Am I saying Juwan right? You just looked at me like I said it wrong? No, you got it. You nailed it. I didn't Pittsburgh it? G1. You didn't get some French fries on that. Go down there and G-Won. This movie came with a side of French dressing. Just making sure. So Ju-on is our first real ghost story. Yeah. Ghost story, paranormal, sort of, yeah. Our first subtitle movie as well.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Yeah. A lot of things we should have watched the subtitles, but didn't, this is the first time where I can't be like, what'd he say? Yeah? So..... Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I? Yeah. I th. I the th. the the th. the the th. the th. things we should have watched the subtitles but didn't, this is the first time where I can't be like, what do you say? I thought he said. So you really liked this movie a lot. I do. I can admit that it's not the best movie, but I have a lot of sentimental attachment to this film. Okay. I first saw this movie in two thousand and probably two thousand or-two, or or-two, or th, or th, or th, or th, or th, or th, or th, th, or th, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what the the the thi, what, what, what, what, what the thi, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what the the the the the the the the the the the, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, th. th. I, what, what, what, the the the the the thi. I, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, what, their, what, what I, what, what, the the the the film. I first saw this movie in probably 2002 or 2003. When I lived in Philadelphia, a group of friends and I had this thing called Team Fulci, where we would get together and watch horror movies all night. Nice. From like 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to 6 a.m. thrown the today. And this was one of the ones that we watched like 3 o'clock in the morning. So we were loopy on like twizzlers and just right going nuts. I guess he's being very mind-bending at that point. It was crazy. I just remember like that sort of the the the ultimate scene where the
Starting point is 00:01:53 stairs at the end of the movie is just like we were screaming and jumping on each other and going insane so I have a lot of I have a lot of affection for this movie because of that. I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a th I have a thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I have I th. I th. I thi thi thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I have I have I have I have I have a thi thi thi the thi the the the the the to have a to have a to have a to have a to to to to theeeeeeeeeeeeee thi thi thi thi thi thi. I this movie because of that. I don't actually know much about Japanese horror as a genre. I've seen a handful of movies, this being one of them, Ringo being one. I've seen one missed call, which is not good. No. No. And that's really pretty much it for my Japanese horror knowledge. But one of my favorite movies of all time is Battle Royal, which is not really a horror movie, but more like action kind of Japanese movie.
Starting point is 00:02:30 They definitely is a genre-bender on that. It's pretty horrible. Yeah, it's pretty horrible. Well, they're all pretty horrible. Like, it seems like Japanese movies. American horror movies are kind of a morality play, as Mettowet Scraven would tell you. You know, you break the rules, you get beaten to death or something. But Japanese horror movies, there's no rhyme or reason, everybody dies. Is that true of the genre? Well, I think it's something like Battle Royale. Like for the ghost stories, I think we don't have the cultural touchstones for the ghosts are different. Like they're coming from like a Buddhist background, a lot of levels and the Shinto and that stuff. And so, whereas we sort of have like a Judeo-Christian bent on ghosts and what makes them scary
Starting point is 00:03:17 and stuff. So like, even having done a bunch of reading about this stuff back in the day, and unfortunately I didn't, don't retain everything but... And you didn't bring your dossiers? I didn't bring my dossiers. So they, but, so there's much more about like the vengeful ghosts and the ghosts that are like seeking revenge and will attach themselves to people which is what this movie is completely about. Or what what Ringo is like that vengeful ghost that just wants to murder. I guess it's their it it is their it is th. It is th. It is th. It's. It's. It's. It's. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. I I is thi. I is thi. I is thi. I is thi. I is thi. I is thi. I is thi. I is th. I is th. th. th. th. th. the thi. I is the thi. I's, thi. I's, thi. I's, thi. I thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi. And, thi.ful ghost that just wants to murder. I guess. It's not looking for like, and it seems like in American horror films, there's something you can do to liberate the ghost, you send it off into the next world.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And this one's just like, nope. Nope? I'm all keep them murdering. Yeah. Is that why in this is my death. I accept it. Yeah, I don't, I mean, it's got that almost like love crafty and level of faint in the face of fear. Like every time something gets spooky, it dropped to your knee. And you go, ooh! It was actually watching, watching Ringo when I made the decision that, when my life eventually does turn into a horror film as it will. What? Wait, what? I am just beating the shit out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out out. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It's, th. It's, th. It's, th. It's, th. It's, the the th. It's, th. It's, it, it, it, it, it, it, it's, it, it, it's, it, it, it, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, th. It's, th. It's, th. It's, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the they. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the th. the the the the they. the the they it will What I am just beating the shit out of everything like when Sadako comes out of the TV set
Starting point is 00:04:29 I'm there just punting her the goddamn head because I am not putting up with this Why can we like? Like is this an appropriate time to talk about why you think you're like? I don't but I'm just saying it does? Just like I have this thing where I walk into a building and I'm like like, th like, I th like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, like, th, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the the the the the the the the their their their their their their their their their, their, their, their their, their their their their their their their their their their their their their, like, like, like, like, like, like, they, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, th this thing where I walk into a building and I'm like, okay, this is what I need to do to zombie fortify this place. You're going to knock the stairs down, you got to shut up. You know, so, you know, I have a continuously plan for what a ghost comes out of a television set. I see. When the apocalypse comes, I'll probably just lie down and die too. I'm not going to live very long without electricity, so.
Starting point is 00:05:05 I wasn't built for it. It's true, I wasn't. I'm not going to forage very well. I'm not going to be good for that. The grudge. It's by the Katie gave up. So I understand these people's just resignation to their deaths, I guess. And I think, I mean, they're totally try to be the, they're being set up as the, the vessels
Starting point is 00:05:28 for the, for the audience. Like, they're basically saying, this is when you're supposed to be scared. Sure, look how scared they are. That's how scared you are. Even down to the whole thing of when she realized, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, when, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they, they, they, they, the, they they the, they they the, they they're, they're they they're, their, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, their, their, their, their, their, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're, they're being their, to you, what opens it up to you. So like that's totally a little wink and a nudge to horror films in general and to the audience I think. Yeah. Also that was when it was revealed that the movie didn't make any sense. Yeah. No. No.
Starting point is 00:05:58 So Juan overall is it's a ghost story and it starts off with a murder. Yes. And it's setting up the entire, the entire the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thiqqqqqqqqqqq. Weaqqq. tooom. tooom. tooing. tooing. tooing. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the film. the film. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the film film film film film film film film film film film film film film film film film film. Wea. Wea. Wea. Wea. Wea. Wea. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. W. te. tea. tea. tea. tea. starts off with a murder. Yes. And it's setting up the entire movie with this murder at the beginning that shows a man murdering a woman and a child and a cat. That will all come back into play through the movie. And creating these vengeful spirits that then hunt down people who are connected with this house. And what you were referring to with the confusing not making any sense is at the end of the movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie., the movie movie movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the movie, the the the the the the movie, the movie, the the the mirti, at the mirti, with the mirti, with this house. And what you're referring to with the like confusing not making any sense is at the end of the movie it refers
Starting point is 00:06:29 to or it shows that one of the people you've been following this whole time this woman Rika she may have been the ghost the whole time. See that's where I disagree I think that I thought it was the first woman that got hurt. But got her face. When she looks through her hands, it's her own face looking back at. I don't think it was. I think you're just... No. Nope. Nope. I really thought it was the woman who got murdered in the first scene because I thought she had like started the grudge. Hold on. So Wikipedia has verified that I am. We were going there.
Starting point is 00:07:05 That I am not racist. It's true. I didn't say you were racist. I just meant that you know you might have thought they all looked alike. No, no. So, all right, we went to Wikipedia and, uh, because this is confusing this end scene of how this may have actually, was it been intended to play out? Right. It's been over 10 years since I've watched this movie multiple times over the course of 10 years and I just was like, oh no, she's the ghost the whole time.
Starting point is 00:07:30 But it turns out that it's the ghost taking on her visage to insinuate that she will now be the one living out this curse. According to Wikipedia. Right. Which makes it's, that, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the thii, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they, they, thi, thi, thiolioliolomea, they, they, they, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the ghost, the, the, the, the ghost, the ghost, they, they, they, they, thi, thi, thi, is thi, is thi, is thi, is thi. thi. thi. thi. Weau. Wea. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. that was not very clearly demonstrated to me as the audience. And again, I don't know if that falls into the cultural things that I was talking about earlier. I don't think the Japanese people saw that and they were like, oh I see, she's now doomed to the same fate. Maybe, maybe, I don't think so. It happens very quickly anyway, so it's hard to say. Yeah. I mean, I definitely think this movie is a cheesy teenage horror movie kind of flick.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Oh, I said flick kind of movie. But it's, I think like the ultimate scary parts, like for me anyway, they're legit scary for me. Like I get creeped out by these things. What parts do you find scary? The woman walking down the stairs and the crab crawl? F that part in the face. I hate that part. I'm making the, uh, I can't even do the noise. Uh, and then like, duh, coming down the stairs all squirby worm. I feel like this movie had a lot of scary atmosphere of like building tension that I felt very tense,
Starting point is 00:08:46 but then when I actually would see whatever it was, like be it the little boy who just looked like a little baby bear. Toshio. Toshio. Or the woman or the woman painted all black with the crazy wig on. I felt like then it became not that scary for me. But I just felt like felt like the suspense would build and build and build and then it'd be like, oh there's a baby bear guy. I don't know. There's a really poopy mat. Yeah, the poop mat was not as adorable as the little little baby guy, but yeah, I felt like it really suffered from that
Starting point is 00:09:19 for me where they, like when she was coming down the to you were like, it's so scary! I was like, oh God, it's taken forever to get down here too. I don't know if the watching that at 3 o'clock in the morning hopped up on Twizzlers if that just like has gone to like my my reptile brain of the like this is now super scary. Like every time I see it I like to imagine that you were also 13 and at at at at at at at at at at a a that that that that that that that that that that th and at a th and at a th. party and just had all so many pixie sticks. Oh if I weren't in my 30s at that point. That's along the lines of the... Oh I wasn't I was in my late 20s. The... Good for you. Along the lines of the like the er-r-sounds I feel like this movie made a really great use. This is what the thing I think I liked best about it was the use of sound effects. Yeah for sure. The like even just like the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. th. th. th. th. th. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. thirty. th. th. th. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I was. I. I. I was. I was. I was. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th I think I liked best about it was the use of sound effects. For sure. Like even just like the ringing in people's heads that they would hear when they try to
Starting point is 00:10:09 go upstairs or there was like which is one scene where the husband I can't remember his name Kayakayashi. He and his wife had very similar names which I was. Is that Katzua? Yeah, I think I had the wife's name. We're they, they, th, th, th, th, th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, tho, like, like, their, their, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they.............. they, they, they, they, they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they, they, they. think I had the wife's name. Yeah, we're gonna butcher every one of these names, yeah. He was like biting his nails in one scene and it was just like loud and just disgusting, like just super effective. So I really enjoyed that. The sound was really great in it and I really enjoyed the sort of almost traditional theatrics of it. Like when they're implicating that that guy,
Starting point is 00:10:46 Katsua or whatever, is becoming possessed with the spirit of the father who killed the wife and son and starts biting on his nails and the lighting shifts. Yeah, and like it gets real dark over his face and like I just felt like that was really fun nod to like silent films and like the the theater and yeah I really like that aspect of it like yeah I think it's good from the mood and I like the use of music in it too where there would be like long stretches with just silence yeah I was gonna say I don't think I can't remember any music in it there was that and then like the like low synth rumbles when stuff was getting real creepy yeah yeah. Yeah. I can't remember it. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:11:28 And then there were things that I just hated, like, those wigs. Oh, the scary wig monster? Yeah, scary wig monster. I just was really not to do. Yeah, the special effects on that didn't hold up so well over the past 12 years. Yeah, that wig's gonna get her. Well, it was the wig and the CGI shadow that was gonna get it. Yeah, and just, I don't know, that was some of the close-up shots of people's faces when they just had face
Starting point is 00:11:54 paint on and it was like real like sinking into their pores like, oh, yeah, I mean, I mean, I mean, an eyeliner. From like the nerdy aspect of that, the the the, the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thin, to thin, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, to, to, to. And, the, like, like, like that of sort of tea on like that sort of reminded me of like traditional Japanese theater like Kabuki. Right I get that but I just think that's when you think that was their intent? Well I think so because that's sort of the white-clad long black hair ghost like in like in Sadako in R Ringo yeah that's a traditional Kabuki ghost that was like the style of ghosts that they would do in Kabuki theater it's really I feel it really detracts from the fear element of the characters I don't there's something about that really they really gets into my psyche and makes me make me a scared
Starting point is 00:12:42 sorry buddy it's all right That's why I'm watching. I'm actually happy that it happens. I'm sorry that it didn't scare you. No, sorry. Yeah, Tosio. Now what about Toshio tickling his knees underneath the table? Oh, what is the little? Poor little Toshio. I don't really, yeah, yeah, Toshio. I kept expecting him to just like bend backwards in his joints to be like he really didn't he just kind of ran around and was like he yeah for sure he didn't really but he's like a mischievous little kid spirit yeah he doesn't really he never does anything though he never causes any never attacks anybody um no the most he does is that sort of when he like opens his mouth and screams like a cat in the one point oh yeah that's pretty okay. That's okay. But there's something weird about like his spirit and the cat spirit sort of being intertwined.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Yeah. Like they'll replace each other in situations and stuff that I didn't. Oh yeah, like one under the table in the restaurant for. Or in the closet. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So that a kid would open his mouth on the cat meow. Yeah definitely. Even though a lot of those meows sound like they were made by a Cassio keyboard. And I like the one scene that was the
Starting point is 00:13:52 uh, are you familiar with the painting the nightmare? There was like a nod to that where Toshio was like sitting on the foot of the woman's bed tickling his knees a lot of the goblin that's in nightmare and then the the mom ghost or whatever were sort of the the horse his head coming through the curtain over top of her like like oh that's that's fun you did a lot there I like that I appreciate that yeah I feel like this movie didn't move you as much as I hoped it would no I think I was expecting it to be to be more afraid sorry I just it just it this this this th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th is just just just just just just just just just just th th th th th th th thus thus the thus the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th is the the th is th is th is thus to to te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te te to to the the the had expected to be more afraid. Sorry. No, no, I just, it's just sort of a fun movie. It's just sort of like a, I mean, you could definitely tell like at 3 o'clock in the morning how ridiculous this movie could get. Sure, sure. And it was, I had seen the ring or Ringo right before this maybe like six months before. Yeah. And like that movie really, thr-a'a'u, I I I I I I th. I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I've thi, I've just, I've just, I've just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just it's just, it's thi, it's thi, it's thi, it's just it's just it's just it's thi, it's just just just just it's just just just just thi, I thi, I thi, I thi, I've just thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi, it's months before. Yeah. And like that movie really creep the shit.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Really? Yeah. Really. I mean, you've not seen, have you seen the Americanized versions of these movies? I've seen, I saw The Ring, Naomi Watts. Which I didn't think was bad. No, I had a lot of quibbles with it, but it wasn't bad. The thing I don't like the thi I don't thin I don't thin I don't thin I don't thin I don't the thi I don't liked I don't like about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about about the, the, the, but the, but the, the the the these is like, they sort of take out that eastern sensibility in it.
Starting point is 00:15:07 Like the, they're like in the Japanese one there's a lot of Ringo, there's a lot of like ESP and stuff that you used in it. And that was just totally wiped from the American version and I just, it sort of took out a lot of the supernatural element of the, yeah, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thin, thin, thin, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, they..... Like, the, the, the, the, the, they... Like, in, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, yeah, I guess so. Yeah, but it did add in that weird scene with a horse. I fucking hate that scene. I was gonna bring it up and I just didn't know whether, like I didn't know how to slide it in there that I fucking hate horses. And then they kind of, I actually for whatever reason have seen the sequel to it too and they kind of recreated. Oh did they do an American sequel? They did? Naomi Watts. Okay. And there's like a scene, I think it's not, it's deer, she's like sitting in a car and they hit all these deer attack her car and they're like running into her car from all these different angles and I
Starting point is 00:15:54 was like this is just the horse scene again but with several of them and antlers. Weird. Yeah. I wonder what that's all about. I don't know. Someone hates quadrupeds. Yeah, there's... Fuck these, fuck these beautiful sensitive animals. This war with muscular animals. Which is pretty much how I feel too, so it's probably some kindred spirit of mine. I don't understand your hatred of horses. Because they're huge monstrous, terrifying beasts and I think we can all agree on that. They're beautiful majestic animals. Yeah who will eat you if you don't need them. Moving on. I'm sure it's my snobbishness that I just don't want to like the American remakes of things. Well, American needs to pound all the subtlety out of something, you know?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Yeah, that's kind of our thing. Yeah, I don't need to be... Not that this, not that the Juhon was exceptionally subtle. It was cryptic. Well, you don't thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thia that that that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's exactly exactly exactly exactly that's exactly that's exactly that's that's that's not that's not that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not that's not not not. that's not not not not not that's not not not not not not not not not not not not not not the that's not not not not the the the the the the that. that's not not. that's not not not that. that. that's not that. that's not that's not Well, you don't actually see anyone die except for the wife who has sort of like the almost like heart attack or something in the bed. It's not even a violent death. She's like on her way to dying pretty much. And she's the only real death I think you actually see happen in front of you. It's sure. There's a few people that are dragged off screen. Yeah, but you don't see them die. I mean. I I I I I I I I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. but you don't see them die. I mean, that's pretty subtle for a horror movie. So. And that's interesting because, like you were saying, when once they expose the ghost to you, you know, you didn't really find them scary any longer.
Starting point is 00:17:16 So the fact that they kept most of the deaths off screen, like, I think that sort of heightened the effect of like what are the ghosts doing to them? See, you know I like a high body count and this had a high body count but I felt let down by it because I think you know I felt like let me see him die you know I mean this for the sick aspect. The blood in the guts. Just you know I'm here to watch people die. Let's face it we're all here to watch people die. Let's face it, we're all here to watch people die. And you guys are listening to this to hear us talk about watching people die. So don't judge. Yeah, I mean, I really, I really enjoy the whole, like,
Starting point is 00:17:58 I guess it's a sub-genre of horror of the supernatural horror and ghost stories and all that stuff. Like I really, and I think this fits really nice really really really really really really really really really really to to to to to thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to hear to hear to hear to hear this this this to hear to hear to hear to hear to hear to hear this to hear to hear this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this this thus thi thi thi thi their their their their their their their their the their thi thi to hear to hear us to hear us to hear us to hear to hear to hear to to to to to to to to to to to their their their thi the supernatural horror and ghost stories and all that stuff. I really, and I think this fits really nicely into that sub-genre like, something like, like the haunting, which doesn't have a high body count. There's only what, one person that you see die in that movie and it's like, but yeah, the suspense and the creepiness and the sort of hitchcockiness of it all. How do you feel about the paranormal activity type movies? I liked the first one. Yeah, the first one like that was super scary. I mean it was a fun, it was a good popcorn horror movie for sure.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Yeah. Yeah, the scene in that where the woman's like standing next to the bed for five hours or whatever it is in the middle the night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night night.. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the the the the the little little little little little little little little little little girl. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the first the first the first the first the first the first one one one. the first the first the first the first. I the first. I the the middle of the night. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm fine with those. I just wondered. See, as like horror movies go, I feel like I'm least attracted to ghost movies. I think because I feel more like, I don't know, I feel more likely that there could be a were werewolf than a ghost.
Starting point is 00:19:01 I don't know. But that seems... I don't know that it that it it it it's that it's that it's that it's that's that's that I don't know. Okay. That seems... I don't know that it's a believability thing. We might have to edit some of this to make me make sense here because I'm about to get, to get weird. I'll just put in a white rabbit by Jefferson Airplane to eat the bit. Later I'm gonna send the bathtub and then just drop a toaster in. Were my lawyers? Ghosts are near the bottom of my list of horror villains I guess I would say.
Starting point is 00:19:34 The absolute bottom is sort of the thing that happened in the like mid to late 2000s where I was like we're going to put all these people in a room and what will they do to get out? You're your saw. And like, um, I just feel like there was a series of like, Netflix before it was like... we're going to put all these people in a room and what will they do to get out? You know? You saw and like, I just feel like there was a series of like Netflix before it was Netflix type of horror movies that were on like on demand that were like that where it's like will they kill each other to get out? Will they starve and what will happen, you know? The sort of reaction to a reality show. Yeah, or like like their their their the sort th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi they thi thi they just like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I thi. I thi. I just, thi thi thi thi thi thi to a reality show. Yeah, or like hostile I know that it's Frankenstein's monster.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Well, that end, not even as real as mummies. I mean, like, you can go down to Carnegie and see a mummy. Well, yeah, it's interesting because I don't have any belief in a soul, I don't have any belief in an afterlife. So like the idea of like ghosts scaring me, it seems totally bizarre and I don't believe people when they say they've seen ghosts in real life. Really? But still scares the crap out of me. If someone told you like in all earnestness, someone that you thought they had like something weird going on in their house? Yeah, you wouldn't think th............. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. th. I thi? thi? thi? thi? Like thi? Like, thi? Like, thi? Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, th. Like, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. So, th. Like, th. You wouldn't believe them. Unfortunately no. You would think they were lying?
Starting point is 00:21:06 No, I think they were crazy? I would think they had carbon monoxide poisoning. I think they believe what they saw but I think that your brain processes things to understand it and I don't think that that's actually what's happened. They had like a concussion syndrome. No, not not not not not not necessarily not necessarily not necessarily not necessarily not necessarily not necessarily not not necessarily that I I I I I I I I I I that I that I that I they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they have not not necessarily they have they have they're they're they have they have they have like like like like like like like they have like like. I they have they have they have they have. I mean. I mean. I mean. I they have I they have I they have I they have I they have I they have I they have I they have I they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're like. No. No. No. No. I they're not not not not not not not not not not. I they're they're they're they're they're like. I they're they're like like. I they're like like. I they're like. I they're like. I they're not not not not. I. No, but I think the ghosts are just a byproduct of our brains trying to figure stuff out. But yeah, they still scare the shit out of me. If I'm in a house by myself and something bangs upstairs, I'm like, there's a ghost, ghost, ghost, I'll run around and be like, mmm, ghost, and then go, what are you doing? Yeah. So maybe that's why a creepy creepy creepy creepy down the steps creeps their shit out of me. Well, I mean, that's obviously supposed to be terrifying.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Ghost or not or whatever. Right. I don't know. I mean, the ultimate scary movie or home invasion films. Yeah, because that's so real. That's the realest of real. That's like that's probably, that's probably, the that's probably, the the that's, that's, they, they, they, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed, thi, is supposed they, is supposed thi, supposed, supposed thi, supposed, supposed supposed that's supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed supposed, is supposed supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is supposed, is thi, is supposed supposed, is being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being being, being, being, being being, being, being, being, the, their, their, their, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to be, to, to be, to be, to be, the, the, the, the, the, thethat's probably my neighbor across the street Shane who's gonna come and kill us. He's just gonna put on those white face masks and walk your us. No he's just gonna come over here wearing his Chicago Bulls outfit and take all my stuff. Yeah no that part that's the realist. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:16 But I do I do love a I love a ghost tale. I mean I love reading like Victorian ghost stories and stuff like that stuff really does it for me. Does it for you? Yeah, so you're not feeling Jew-od, it's what you're telling me. You know, like I said, there are parts that I really liked. I thought that the, it did an incredible job of building suspense. But I also just wanted to be like run away, like you guys can just run away. You maybe you don't have to chase up the stairs Do you feel let down because there was that building suspense and you didn't get the kills? You didn't get the payoff because it because what was on the other end wasn't necessarily that's scary to me I feel whether I'm not sure whether that was because of the lack of payoff or because Sometimes it was sometimes it was just like a cute little boy, and sometimes it was tickling his knees I don't I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not th th th th th the the th the the I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not th th th th th the th the the the the the the the the the the th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tttte te te te tea tea they they they the they the the the the the the the was tickling his knees, Katie. I don't... Is that supposed to upset me? I don't know, you keep saying it like... Because it's so absurd looking, he's just like tickle, tickle, tickle.
Starting point is 00:23:10 I don't know. Just a little guy. Yeah. I didn't even... Yeah, I don't know. I just, it didn't, just didn't, I was kind of like, oh my god, my god, what's gonna be under there? What's gonna be under there? And she like pulled up the blanket and the thing, the face was there and I was like, oh, it's just like, oh, the face. And I was like, oh, the thing, the face. Oh, it's just like, oh, it's a face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face face. the face. the face. the face face. the face. the face face face face face face face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face. the face is the face is the face is the face is the face is the face is the face is the face is the face face. the face. the face face. the face face face. It's. It's just just. It's just. It's Yeah. It's a blue face. Yeah. That's true. So I don't know. I felt it was a lot of build and then let down. But that's just my opinion. I even have a note here that says the
Starting point is 00:23:57 little lurch forward. I really like that. Good, yeah. So my favorite part of this is the part with Azumi and her father with the whole like sort of ESP time travel stuff that's going on. I was like is this a lifetime movie for a second year she was like dad where have you been I saw you in that house you know and he was like I was like is he a drunk where has he he was a ghost he was a ghost yeah but she wasn't a ghost she got pulled into the shrine until she got pulled into the shrine. Until she got pulled into the shrine.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Until she got...Oh, when I saw that when I wondered why they had a stack of pancakes. Yeah, cool. So when the three girls in Kabuki makeup came in and walked at her until she died. When they took them like about 45 seconds to figure out that sliding door. So, their. So, their, their, their, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. And, th. And, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, tho, tho, tho, until she was, until tho, until tho, until, until thu, until, until, until, until, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, so so th. So, oh, so th. So, th. So, th. And, th. And, thi, thi, and thi, thi, and thi, thi, and thi, and thi. And, they's they're they're they're they're tooomoomorrow, when too, when too, when too, when I was too. Oh, when too. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh like about 45 seconds to figure out that sliding door, even though everywhere in Japan is sliding doors. Yeah, but they just came back from the dad or something. They were just like, but then they got it. They slid it right open. I just really love that part. There's something about like the father-daughter thing that gets me in that part.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Yeah. Yeah. I guess I sort of, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, took, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, took, th. took, th's the movie is told obviously a non sequential order right and I was trying to figure out I guess in that part even worse than the rest there that was that was the little girl from the beginning yeah yeah yeah well where who was her the woman she was with her her mother where why oh yeah yeah yeah well there you have it the the the the woman she was with her mother were why oh yeah yeah well there you have it well that's the thing I have the hindsight of seeing this movie a bunch of time right so like I've got and I'm still piecing it together you know yeah yeah a lot of the reviews the negative reviews that I read of it
Starting point is 00:25:42 were sort of about that lack of chronology in it, which really didn't bother me. I mean obviously I didn't get that point but you know I get it now. But I didn't really see it just seemed like a series of vignettes to me like semi-related but now I'm realizing I probably missed a lot more than I thought I did. Yeah they're all interconnected. Well I mean like I saw Rika sort of a the, I th. I th. I th. I th. I the, I th. I thia the thia thia thia thia thia the thia thia thia thia thia thia thia thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I didn't thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I thr-a. I th. I thee. I the. I didn't the. the. I didn't the. I didn't the. I the. I the. I didn Rika sort of moving I thought she was kind of the main storyteller. She was sort of the narrator and then the rest of them were only like tangentially connected but there's like the voicemail that comes in when Rika's first in the house and later you see the sister leaving that. Yeah yeah yeah so yeah they're their. This is her keeps her keeps going huh. She's very bummed she's she she she she she she she she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps her she keeps she keeps she keeps she keeps she keeps she keeps she keeps. She's. She's very. She's. She's very. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's. She's very bummed about stuff. She should... Oh, she was very sad. That's right.
Starting point is 00:26:28 But she was extremely well-dressed. Yeah, she had a great wardrobe. Yeah, it was amazing. I just expected to be more frightened. And it came out. The first scene is super frightening. Like the guy murdering his wife and it just really comes out swinging and then... And it's super grainy and just looks different from the rest of the film.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Yeah, it's very upsetting. And then immediately you are like frightened for Rika, the volunteer who was like super unwilling to go to this house and her boss is like, no, no, you're fine. You can do it. Could he sitting with a volunteer? Like, it seemed like a terrible idea. She does see the scariest thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing things things things thi thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thing thi the scariest thi s scary thi s scary thi s scary thi s scary the scariest thi s scary thi s scary thi She does see the scariest thing in the movie when she has to clean up after that old lady was not taken care of. Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:09 The poop on the mat, man, that's going to get me every time. And then she cleans the house instead of like going back to the agency and being like, no, someone who gets paid to work here is going to go back there and do this........ Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the the the the the the the the pooping. the pooping. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's kind of the phones. That's they, they just didn't use thi. They did. They. They. They. They. They. They. They. They did. They did. They. They did. They did. They. They did. They did. They did. Yeah, why? Like, here's another question, who owns that house? And why do they keep renting it? Yeah, I don't know. Who's the realtor and why do they keep selling it? Like, who... There has to be some sort of disclosure on this property. thirty-five people have-oom. thiii. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thirty-oom. thi. the-o. their-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-s. Starting point is 00:28:09 Oh, have you been in the upstairs? Well, I just remember... It is a den and den of death. It is also an architectural nightmare. Yeah, there are many things that don't make sense. I just remembered something that made me think that Rika had been the ghost the whole time. Because when she first comes to the house at the very beginning of the movie she's like walking along and not really paying attention and then she lifts her head up and then she's totally scared about the
Starting point is 00:28:36 house and you're like what the hell are you scared up like? Oh really? Yeah I miss that. Oh I miss that the I miss. Yeah, I miss. Yeah, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the tho, the the the. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that's I think that like you know along with like the ending where it shows her face and everything I was just like oh she's always been here. Yeah I miss that entirely. Yeah. Well I think I missed a lot of things honestly. What about the director? Oh well the director to Takashi Shimizu? I'm sure I'm mispronouncing that. No, Takashi Simisu. Hey, you know him. So, originally this movie was, the original version of this film was a direct to video movie. And then he remated as the theatrical movie, and then he is the director of the American remake of it. So he's directed all three versions of this movie. Wow. That's pretty lucrative for him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It it. It it. It is it. It is it. It is it. It is it. It is it. It is th. It is a a th. It is a th. It is a th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. the the the the thi. thi. the the thi. You is the thi. You is thi. You is thi. You is thi. He is thi. He is the the the the the the the th. He is the the it. He's directed all three versions of this movie. Wow. Yeah. That's pretty lucrative for him. Yeah. It's also a video game isn't it? Is it? I believe
Starting point is 00:29:30 it's a pretty successful video game. I mean it's a huge franchise in Japan. Yeah. I think where it sort of lost favor there was the the J. Horror boom of the early 2000s and then that sort of has... Is that over? Yeah I think so for most part in the the the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that's sort. that's sort th. Yeah. It's the the early 2000s and then that sort of has... Is that over? Yeah I think so for most part in the states anyway. Okay. But I think that maintained in in Japan. It got pretty grizzly. Did it? Jayhore? I feel. I mean I've seen a lot of clips of like audition and like things that are terrible. Well yeah like each of the killer and yeah I mean that's but that's all I mean before I mean that's that's that's that's th. that's that's that's th. that's that's that's th. that's that's that's that's that's the the that's the the that's the the the the the the the the their. I. each of the killer and yeah, I mean that's but that's all I mean before One they're that's more in the tradition of like the the guinea pig films and these like the awful almost snuff film. Yeah sort of movies that are like super brutal or like Well in Asian cinema there you know, there's like the old boy and there's there's the lady vengeance and all of these movies thinks. I'm thrown. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. T. T. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. the they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. they. the. the. the. the. the. the Lady Vengeance and all of these movies that are just these fucking brutal films. I don't know anything now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:27 So they're sort of a long tradition of just like that brutality. But I think like the lady and white long black hair ghost story just got like, it's more, it's sort of a one-trick pony. Yeah, it's a little, it got a little played out quickly there. Yeah. So I th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th there th there there th there there there th there th th the there the there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's there's sort there's sort there's sort there's sort there's sort there's sort there's more, it's sort there's sort there's more, it's got a little, it's got a little, it's got a little, it's got a little, it's got a little, it's got a little, it's got th th th th th th that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th so I think that eventually went away for us anyway. America loved it for a while there. Yeah. And then it started being parodied in like the scary movie films and all that. Awayans brother dressed like that. I'm sorry I've never seen any scary movies but I would put I would stake actual cash money on the fact that Awayans brother does that in one of them. Is that racist? No I saw a clip from one of those movies movies where, I can't, I think it's Marlon Way and this is attacked by a giant joint, so it's just like, oh, that's all that's off.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Maybe I do need to start watching the scary movie. I'm actually surprised that you haven't seen them. No judgment. I'm just saying it might be up your alley. Suddenly I'm offended. That was not my... Mm-hmm. Anyway. So yeah, he's directed in all movies.
Starting point is 00:31:31 He's the director. Has he done anything else or has he pretty much been in this franchise? Yeah. That's all I really... I think he's done some other movies, but I don't think they've been of no one, like this. So, yeah. Katie? Yes. I think he's done some other movies, but I don't think they've been of Noon, like this. So, yeah. Katie, yes. I have a question for you.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Yes. I think you might know what that question is. Okay, numeric rating. Yeah. I would definitely watch this again. This is sort of my question of whether or not I would reach for this movie. And I really do feel like I probably missed a lot. And I think that's sort of the end game of these movies that are shown to you non-chronologically is to make you watch
Starting point is 00:32:11 them a bunch of times. I feel like they're like, that's sort of there. Yeah, they're like an onion you got to peel back. Yeah, well, some of them you keep peeling and you're like, oh my god. This is just a crappy movie. Yeah, this is just garbage. I just realized that. I should have thrown this onion away. So I would watch it again. I don't know, I'm sure it would be even less scary the next time around, but there are some really great visuals in there that I really liked. One that I've written here that I didn't mention earlier was there was a scene where the mother, the wife, she was not the mother, she was the wife, was going up the stairs chasing, I guess her cat?
Starting point is 00:32:53 No, it was just, it was the kid's cat. So she was like, why is that cat in my house? She didn't seem scared of that cat. And I was, I was, I was like, did she also have, thah........... Did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, did, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, was, the... the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the.'t seem like... No, she was bugged out by the cat. See, she didn't seem that way. Because I would have, if there was a cat in my house that didn't belong to me and I didn't have a cat, I would probably run. I would probably run. I have, if I see a mouse, I run. You know what I mean? That's not my mouse. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. Starting point is 00:33:26 That's when you go out the door not just onto the couch but out the door But then the kids hands like reach out and grab it from around the corner on the stairs which I really liked but just stuff like that I really that you that I really like, but just stuff like that I really that that I really that the that thou th, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but that, but the that, but that, but the that, but that, the that, that, the that, the that, that, that's the that's th. that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that, but that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the that, that's that, that, the that's the that's the the the the the that's the the the the the the the the the the thu were like, yeah, yeah? No, six and a half. I had to take you down a peg. What does that even mean? You didn't write this movie? No, you saw joy. It wanted to smash it. Yeah, it's almost Christmas time. All right, all right. That's where I am. I think for that sentimental value alone, I have to give this movie in eight. Wow. I fully admit it's not a great movie. Yeah. And if you're not in, it sucks probably.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Like, if you're not buying what they're selling. Yeah, which probably could be said for any horror movie. Yeah, I think that's true. If you're not, if you're not a that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's the that's sentimental the the the the that's the the thiment, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the, the, the, thean, thean, thean, thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. theanne. theannemememea. thean. they're selling. Yeah. You know, which probably could be said for any horror movie. Yeah, I think that's true. You know, if you're not a fan of Dracula's, it's probably not going to be the best movie to watch a Dracula's movie. I decided to stop calling them Vampires and just call them Dracula. That's very pluralizing Dracula. Yeah, that's a pretty good rating.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Oh, thanks. Yeah. I feel like I'm, uh, I don't know. I feel like I'm being too kind to movies because like all my ratings are like, oh, that's a 7, that's an 8. Yeah, well, I think you attached to these movies. Yeah, you know, they don't know what you say about them, right? Well, no, but they're my friends. Ju-Wan's my friend.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Yeah, Ju-Wan's nobody's friend. Juhon's waiting for you to come home so that I can crawl down the stairs and go, ah, ah, I hate it so much. Yeah, so no way to talk about your friend. Um, we, well, like, we just need to get you more movies you're going to hate so that the table can be turned. Don't worry. We're getting there.
