It is the 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill, starring Lisa Loeb. Starring top billing.
Starting point is 00:01:22 As well as Academy Award-winning actor Jeffrey Rush, Famca Janssen, Taydig's, Ali Larder, Patrick Gallagher, Peter Gallagher, excuse me, and two or three other people. Chris Catan? Oh, Chris Catan, I forgot. You're talking about mango? Yeah. My man mangoes in this. Did you notice that everyone in this movie is like a poor man's version of someone else? Oh sure. Like, Jeffrey Rush is sort of a poor man's James Woods.
Starting point is 00:01:51 That's not what I was expecting you to say. I expect you to say Vincent Price. Yeah, that's too. I mean he's clearly sort of gaping him. We're all a poor man's Vince and Price. Peter Gallagher is 100 percent a p a p a p a p a p percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent percent a to a to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tooom. th. th. tooom. th. tooom. tooom. tooom. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. toblum in this movie. Can we agree on that? Yeah, he's just like, hey, yeah. If you blended a little Billy Zane into him every once in a while. Every once in a while he's a little Billy Zane. What's Famca Jans? Poor man's Catherine Zeta Jones. Right? Yeah. I have a whole list here. I've worked on this for hours. Who's Tay Diggs? I don't have anything. I. He th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. th. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. I. Yeah. Yeah. I. Yeah. I. I th. Yeah. I. I th. Yeah. Yeah. I. I have. Yeah. I have. I. I have. Yeah list here. I've worked on this, but I worked on this for hours. Who's Tay Digs? I don't have anything for him. He's a rich man, St. Digs. He's so wonderful.
Starting point is 00:02:26 So hunky. It's interesting that you say, Catharisa Jones, because this movie reminded me, unfortunately, of the remake of The Haunting. You liked itthis movie. Ross, why did you bring this to us? Well, I just want to say quickly, actually, before I sat down to watch this again, it's been a while since I've seen it, I was convinced that Catherine Zeta Jones was in this film. Right, so was I? And it started, it's like, oh no, it's Famka Janssen, someone else. She does a great Catherine Zeta though. was sadly one of the films that got me into horror films. Oh wow. I was working at a movie theater in 1999 when this was released,
Starting point is 00:03:08 and it was not a good movie theater. It only had three screens. And it sort of got like the films that no other theater wanted to have at the time in the big 16 screen theaters. So I would use my free passes or my breaks, you know, my 20-minute breaks where I could go and sit and watch a movie, I would watch this when it was there and I saw it. Wow. Yeah. That's very sweet. So and I think to working in a movie theater that time I have a a certain love for films that looked like the late 90s and early 2000s. It's a very distinctly. Very much, yeah. So it has a special place in my heart for that reason, but maybe that's the only reason, looking back at it and watching it again.
Starting point is 00:03:45 I honestly feel the same way you do about it, where I have like very fond memories of this movie because my cousin and I used to rent it at Eagle Video and it scared the shit out of me. And I love that like, I love that late 90s look. So I think that maybe that's just our age or something something something something something something something something something something something something something something, or something, or something, or something, because, because, like, because, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, 15, 16, 17. I don't know how old I was in 99. But it means something, yeah, you know, I don't know, I liked it. I mean this is... I don't hate this movie. I'm going right now. It's very much in with the haunting remake and like Ghost Ship and 13 Ghosts, they all have the same vibe. I knew you were going to bring those up, but I feel this is better. This was the same the same the same the same was the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same the same thi thi thi thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi. Yeah, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. I was thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi. I'm thi, I'm thi, I thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi, I was thi. I was thi. I was thi. I was thi. I was thi. I th you were going to bring those up, but I feel this is better. This was the same production company I believe is the thing ghost, right?
Starting point is 00:04:26 Oh really? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But like, I mean, just production wise, it has the same feel as those movies. Like, the color palette sort of the same as those films and all that stuff. Like, it seems like they were like they had a mass production company. They were just like, yeah. What do you like a ghost ship? What do you like a haunting? And they're all remakes of other movies. They're all like, well, ghost ship just didn't stole the name of another movie, but. I just was looking to see what else they had done. Yeah, House on Housan Hunted Hill. Starting point is 00:05:07 Halle Berry yeah I've never seen it I just remember the poster house of wax which I think is Paris Hilton yeah should probably talk about it also Jared padalecky what Sam Sam? 99% sure it's Jared had lucky in there does he make that weird thing with his eyebrows where he smushes his entire forehead together to be a motive yeah that's only thing yeah I'm sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa sa I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I th. I'm a there. Does he make that weird thing with his eyebrows where he smushes his entire forehead together to be emotive? That's his only thing. Yeah, I can't even do it. It's like he makes a fist out of his forehead.
Starting point is 00:05:31 He is in this movie. Yeah, Padilackey. Along with a lot of like late 90s, early 2000 stars like Chad Michael Murray and Alicia. I know from 17th Magazine. They also did the reaping, which I don't know. Oh, that was, um, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. It's returned to House on Hunted Hill? Oh, they're back, baby.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Whose director is so poor that he doesn't even have a Wikipedia link? Oh, geez. Rock and roll all of the of them. It just gets worse and worse. And I don't think the director of this movie did anything of note either. I mean he did this. I mean he did this. I don't think the director of this movie did it. He did scared to death creature and fear. thrown. to thi. told me. to thi. to thrown. thi. thi. the the. the. the. the the. the. the. the. the the. the. the the. the the the. the. the the the. the the the the. the the director. the director. the director. the director. Am I making that? No, I think you're right. I think I'm not even going to look. I already clicked away.
Starting point is 00:06:30 This movie also, I was very excited to see, has Jeffrey Combs in it? Who you'll remember from the ghost doctor being way scarier than he was that like sort of robot walk. I remember like haunting me and then he it's still kind of scary but not great. But if the beautiful people started playing behind it be like oh yeah that's totally supposed to be here right now. No that's wrong it was some the your rhythmics cover. Sweet dreams. Oh that is in this yeah it's literally the only song in the film. When you get to the end of the credits, it's the only pop song.
Starting point is 00:07:08 The rest is just an orchestral score. Love that. I love that. I love that. It's very 99. Also, I don't hate Marilyn Manson. Beautiful people's on my running mix because, how can you the the the th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the th, the the th, the th, it's, the the the th, it's, it's the, the the the the the the the the the rest is just is just is just is just is just is just is just is just is just is just is just, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest, the rest is, the rest is the rest is just is just is just is just is just is just is just is the the the the the the the the tho, tho, tho, tho, the. I love your cat versions of songs. Lisa Loeb's in this movie, so that's something.
Starting point is 00:07:32 Spike from Buffy is in this movie? The cameraman is the character Spike from the Buffy TV show. That ride seemed like an insurance issue, right? Yeah, I felt like that ride was like their homage to William Castle, to like his old style of like... Not the creeper, what's it called? The tingler and like in the original house on the haunted hill when they would do showings of that a camera if it was sent around or a camera in the name of whatever the spook was in that one, but they would have a skeleton to spook it the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the, the, the, the, the the, the the, throwne, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the, the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the thereaugheananananananthemoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomeananananananthe there, wase, wase, wase, was one, but they would have a skeleton suspended from the ceiling that during the pivotal scene in that movie, if you guys have seen the original, there's like a skeleton
Starting point is 00:08:07 walk in that they would drop the skeleton down over the audience. Weird. And I think it worked like one out of ten times or whatever, but like it would come down to like slide down through the audience and of what this movie's about? Sure. And it's not spaghetti straps and glitter eyeshadow, which do make an appearance. Oh, an appearance. They should get a credit. Yes. So Academy Award-winning actor Jeffrey Rush plays Stephen Price, who is a scary theme park mogul.
Starting point is 00:08:44 He's got just money everywhere and he likes to scare people with his money. And he is married to Famca Jansen. She decides that she wants to have her birthday party at the house on Haunted Hill, a psychiatric ward that burned down in 1931. The building's still there, but there was a large fire that consumed all but five people in it back in the building's still there, but there was a large fire that consumed all but five people in it back in the day.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And that's where she wants to have her birthday party. When they get to the party, they realize the guests of the party are not who they thought they invited. They're five strangers. And so now they have to figure out who these strangers are while competing for Stephen Price's $1 million prize. He's offered a million dollars if you can survive the night in the house on Haunted Hill. So I think that's basically the overview. Yeah, that's actually the quickest overview.
Starting point is 00:09:30 That is the quickest overview we've ever had. Really succinct and very good. Thank you for having me. I look forward to hearing off their. I'm going toangent for 25 minutes. Like I don't know how you didn't mention that Fumka Jansen is talking on a phone in a bathtub watching TV drinking a Bloody Mary and I was like this is the best fucking life. Why are you so fucking why are you so upset? Because your life is so great. Yeah how you get that bubble consistency.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I need to get up on that bubble consistency. Who's drinking a bloody merry in the bathtub? That's so great. Why are we not all doing that? There's so many ingredients in that thing. She seems to be like no more than five feet from a bottle of Finlandia throughout the whole film. And it's like, they must have paid a lot of money because it's always angles. Yeah. She's also 37 feet tall. Yes. . Very tall or everyone else is just tidy. I didn't realize how short T. Diggs was Oh, yeah, I'm like critically wates movie. I'm like, oh, he's a little guy. So the two white ladies
Starting point is 00:10:30 that come in with Chay digs? You mean, they're the exact same person, right? Yeah, she was Brigitte Wilson, Sampress, she's married to tennis star Pete Samperus, with Sonia Blade in the Mortal Kombat movie. Wow. Yeah, which I love, I love the Mortal Kombat. I love the mortal combat movie movie. I lovedia both of them. I lovedia.
Starting point is 00:10:54 That's a lot of 90s,the love interest in Billy Madison. She's so 90s, I kind of love her. She just won the decade and then just was like, you know, I'm out, by. I'm marrying this tennis guy. I'll leave the 2000s to someone else. There's just a flattle floating down behind her and she walks away. And then Allie Larder, who is the other blonde woman, was the whip ci-bick-bic-a th-up-up-up-in-in-in-in-in-lion-lion-lion-lion-lion-in-lion-lion-lion-in-in-in-in-a-in-lion-a-lion-a-lion-o-o-o-o-lion. I'm thi-a-in. I'm th-mianiannigh. I'm thi-I. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm thi-I I'm thi-in. I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I. I I man you go way deeper at 90s films than I. It was a time for me. I was I was really grateful when the first one died because I was like I'm glad
Starting point is 00:11:32 because I can't tell them the fuck apart so I'm glad that one of them is all white people look the same to you? Come on they do. It was a weird casting. It was a weird. they they do. It. It. It they they they do. It was a weird. It was a weird. they they they they they they they they they they they they they do. they they do. they they they do. they they they do. they do. they they do. they do. they do. they do. they do. they do. they they they they they they they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were they were. I was really. I was really. I was a they they they were. I was a weird. I they do. I they do. I they they they do. I they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they th. I was a th. I was a th. I was a th. I was a th. I was a th. I was a th. I was a th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was th. I was a th. I was a th. I was a weird casting choice to have them both be in this. Yeah. Why not have Lisa Loeb be one of them? I think because her acting. Oh, that's why. She was very cute, but not good on the lines. You say. I have the note, hey, Mango. Chris Gatan, they were like, you're going to be the comic relief in this movie. And he was like, they're tha. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. It tho. It tho. It was like, tho. It was like, tho. tho. It was like, tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho. tho, tho. that, tho. tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. It was th. It was th. It was like, th. It was like, th. It was like, th. It was like, th. It was like, th. It was like, the. the. the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the. thi. the. the. to be the comic relief in this movie. And he was like, will I be? He's so over the top.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Everything he says. I love it, though. Part of what I really like about Chris Katan in this film is that he feels like a stand-in for me sometimes. In that, like, he is so kind of frightened and over the house when people are like, what is this horrible, terrible looking device? He's like, oh, I don't know, that's just a thing they used to beat people, whatever, we gotta get out of this house because it's horrible. Yeah, it's true. But he's delivering that on 15 the entire time.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Yeah. Just screaming the entire time. One concept that he introduces is the theory is a doctor who was running the doctor who was running the hospital was that what would make a sane man mad would make a madman sane? And I remember hearing that as a teenager and being like, oh man, that's scary. But then I realized like it's very stupid, first of all. And second, even when he delivers that line, he's like, I don't know, whatever. Like, even he knows it's stupid. Like, even they know it's stupid. Like, even they know they know, they know, they know, they know, they know, they know, they know, they know, they know, they know, they're, they're, th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thin, thin, thin, thin, that's thin, thin. thin. thi, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's like, that's that's like, that's like, that's that's like, that's like, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. I thin. thin. I's thin. I's the. I's the. the an thean. they. they they they the an thean. thean. thean. thean. thean. that's thean. And, th is one thing to say about this movie is they, it's very self-aware. They're very much know what they're doing at this film. I had no concept of that till recently. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Which is also kind of, I think, a throwback to the original, which is also very self-aware, very aware of like the audience is watching and like. Jeffrey Rush even has like a Vincent Price. Yeah. And the last last th, I th is th is th. th. thine thine thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. Yeah, I thi. Yeah, I thi. Yeah, I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. I th. I th. I th. I th. I tie t. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi. I thi. I thi. I thi. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I wanted him to wink at the camera at one point. He practically does, to be fair. He's great. I don't know what his accent is, but it's fantastic. Well, I think it's kind of like his Australian accent peeking through a little bit. Oh, you're like, but via New York City?
Starting point is 00:13:40 Yes. Like, you've only paid me this much of an is as much of an American accent I'm going to do. If you want the actual American accent, I need another 2 million. It's, yeah, everyone in this movie, I mean, they're in, right? They're all doing it. Oh yeah. Like, Honda. So, Stephen Price and his wife, Evelyn, are like trying to kill each other but maybe not trying to kill each other, which I found very confusing upon this critical viewing.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Are they killing, are they trying to kill each other? Do they want each other dead? Yes. Because she has hired, not hired, she's trying to get the other people to shoot him. I don't know. And spoiler, she has a romantic liaison with a doctor played by Peter Gallagher. Yeah, not Billy Zane. Not Jeff Goldblum.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Sadly. Can you imagine Jeff Goldblum in that role? Although I would not have like the weird cold thing that he did. What's the cold? When he's like touching her, and he's like, oh, cool. And he like touches, never mind. Because he's gross. Do you know what I'm talking about? All right.
Starting point is 00:14:48 Did I watch a different version of the gross parts? This was R-rated, and they just went like blood and breast right out of the gates. They were just like, come on, let's do this, let's do this. There's just random boobs. Yeah. So I feel like the aesthetic from this film was someone sat down and watched the video for Nine Inchnails Closer. Yes. And it was like, we'll just do that. And there's even a scene where Academy award-winning actor Jeffrey Rush is inside this large sort
Starting point is 00:15:14 of device with just spinning whirligigs and just creepy imagery pops out at him. And there's a sign that basically says, you know, if you're feeling sick, put on these Trent Reznor goggles. Yeah. And so he does. And so there's this scene that almost looks like it's like matched, like frame for frame from the middle of that video. But that's, I mean, that's what a lot of this, like, there's a lot of like, it-blblblblbler. Yes. The spinny thing reminded me of the spinny thing from the end of 13 ghosts,
Starting point is 00:15:49 which is another reason I like tacked those movies together. I don't even remember what that is. It was the big zodiac thing that was spinning andthink was particularly dumb. I didn't understand what was happening. Well that was the bad doctor, right? And he had like an old tiny soccer ball? Jeffrey Combs was playing bouncy balls. Yeah. I didn't understand why he had the ball but he did. I don't know. Jeffrey Combs is like such a great snarky dick and they didn't let him talk at all. snarky. Let's do this. It'll be great for your snarky 90s movie. So the other thing that was weird, and I was thinking about watching this in comparison to 13 Ghost also, both of these films just kind of take place in the basement of a large house. Why do they keep going into the basement though? They can't even like come up with a conceit for them to they. They they. They like. They like. They like they like they like they like they like. They like they like they like they like they like. They like they like they like. They like they like they like they like they like they like they like. They like they like come like come like come like come like come like come like come like come like come like come like come up. They like come up. they like come like come up. they like come come come up. they they're like come come come come come come. they're like come come come. they're like come come come come come come come. they're like come come. they're like come come. they're like come. their. their. their. their. their. they're like come. their. they. they. they. they. they're like come. they're like come. they're like come. they're like come. they're like come up. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. they're like, like come like, like, like, like, like, like, like come. they're like, like, like, they're like, they're like, let's go back in the basement. Why? Right. And it's, I love that it's, you know, this thing isn't even a house. It's a
Starting point is 00:16:47 large hospital built onto a cliffside. It looks like it has 30 floors and they immediately walk in and we're like, let's just go to the basement and exist only in four rooms for the next two hours. It literally until you just said that did not occur to me to me to me that that that that that that that that that to that that th th th. th. th. th. th. th. T th. T th. T th. It's today. it's 30 stories high and they do not go above story one. You never go upstairs. Well there's the one scene at the end where they find out the attic. Right. I'm doing finger of what? Which they get there amazingly fast. Yes. But it's true. Have you guys ever been in the basement of a sanitarium? No. What in the world? Where were you in this world? I used to be a delivery driver for a print shop and we made a delivery to a sanitarium and they're like, oh just go ahead and put it in the basement and they're like, I just go in like the late 1700s.
Starting point is 00:17:32 It was great. It was like, oh you just go in my nightmare hole? Just take that to under the nightmareia and ththea and ththea and ththea and ththea and ththea. And ththea. And the and the the and the the and the and the. the. the. to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the sanitare. the sanitari. the sanitarium. the sanitarium. the sanitarium. their their-s. their-s. their-s. their-s. their-s. their-s. their their their their to to to to electricity and also doctors' offices and also patient treatment rooms. Well, we put everything in the basement because the rest of the building. So we put everything in the basement. It literally makes no sense. I don't even know. I don't even know. I mean, like, there's a tank of blood. That was real.
Starting point is 00:18:02 She did not imagine that tank of blood. Why? Right. That was a real. That was she did not imagine that tank of blood. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. That's when stay, it's been kept fresh the entire time. Also, would you put your hands into a tank of blood for someone you just met? Is it Tadig's? It's Ta di-Diks. It's a super hunking. You did just touch her butt too. And she's like, okay. t you. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. to. to. to. to. to. to. tip. tip. tip. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. tha. tha. the the tha. tha. It's tha. It's tha. It's actually written in the Constitution. Yeah, it's weird. Weird that they knew. They knew. Oh, for people who remember, the guy that worked for the park that gets his face chewed out, his fakes completely disappears. He was working in the basement for, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:40 He is the character Yabo from gleaming the cube. If anyone's seeing Gleaming of the Cube. Gleaming the Cube. Gleaming the Cube. Nope. Not I. Oh, Christian Slater's Skateboarding Movie, where he has to avenge his brother's death. What? Yeah, it's funny.
Starting point is 00:18:56 It was renamed for television of Brothers Justice. But it's called Gle's ridiculous. Sounds great. But this guy that guy was in that movie and I got really excited when I saw and recognized him. Yeah you're probably the only person. He's the saddest character though because every other character has some reason to die even if it's tenuous like they're connected to the past or they're just a bad person. And here's this blue collar worker who's like, I'm gonna make overtime this week. This will be great. Yeah, I'm watching my blockbuster videos.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Right, eating two sandwiches at once. Yeah, Bobby, two sandwiches. That's what they called me around the shop. Oh, I'm dead. Where's my face? He lost his face hole. He had the best, that was probably the best special effect though, for me. I thought it was like, when they spun him around, he has no face.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Yeah, it was great. The absence of face. Oh boy. I mean, this movie legitimately frightened to me as a teenager. And now watching it, I'm watching it's like, like, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the the the the, just being so scared of that scary walking doctor on the camera. Yeah. And it's like a second. It's literally one second and he never does it again.
Starting point is 00:20:11 And then there's the terrible, CGI ghost thing at the end that's like a Rorschach test that's floating in everybody. That's miserable. That's, according to the Wikipedia, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the, to, to, the, to, the, to, to, to, the, the, to, the, to, the, the, to, to, the, to, Wikipedia, the CGI special effect was based on the writings of HP Lovecraft. What? What fuck you talking about Wikipedia? Like, did someone just say that? Did someone just say that?
Starting point is 00:20:32 All right, whatever. Sounds good. Like, for a portion of the movie, it seems like they're just walking around, like, looking for a way to open the gate so they can get out. Because the doctor has enabled this building that when shit goes wild, all the doors closed for a 12 hour period. It goes on completely locked down. But the guy who owns the house is like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:57 It's not down here. We looked and it's not down here, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, they. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. Yeah. Like we have to go up to get there. And everyone in his family has been killed by the house, which seemed odd. I don't know. I don't know. Chris Kattan. Did he grow up in the house? Did he live there? I have a lot of questions about him. And it's not a house, you're right, it's not a house. Stop calling it a house, it's a hospital. Like, this movie isn't even called Hospital on Hunted Hill. Right. Are there, I mean, but did they convert the rest of the space to like bedrooms for Chris Catan? I guess? I mean, Fomka Jansons in like a bed, a bed, a bed, a bed at some they they they they they they they they they, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, it is, it is, it is, it is they, it is, it is at the that, it is a they, it is they, it is the movie, it is they, it is thia, it is thia, it is th. I don't, yeah, her nighty, her night wear is exceptionally good. It's a god damn superhero, a sequined robe.
Starting point is 00:21:51 Yeah, with like great flappy like winged sleeves and stuff. Yeah. It's super fun. So the house. There's so much sighing. The house. Well, I want to get into how these guests got there, which is that the house hacked his email. Yes. Yeah, go explore that. So, like, right now, the house could be in your email,
Starting point is 00:22:16 like, emailing your boss, telling you what you really think of him. Do you know what I mean? And Chris Katan's just like,'s a lot of pen-up energy, I don't know, like it's just so like, but-pup-bub, fine, fine, fine. I'm assuming while the director was reading that script he went, oh shit, fear. that I come, here I come. It's true. In the original, Vincent Price selected, the five guests that have nothing to do with his wife that are their, need money. They all need money for some reason or other which is the same thing in this movie. Yeah but like but they weren't selected by a ghost in a computer. Relate they're related. Remind me how they were selected? They're related to the five people who survived right? Yes. Okay even if they don't know it. they're the today. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're the they're the they're they're they're they're their they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they they they they they they they they they they they they they they they're they're they they they're they they they they're they're they're they're they're their. their. their their their their th. the. the. the. the. their their tho. their they. their their their tho. their th adopted. Right, and that's why he could live.
Starting point is 00:23:05 And Ali Larder had, was not, she stole her boss's invitation. Right, that's right. So she was also not a descendant so she could live also. That also bothered me because the person who was supposed to be was Jennifer. But the ta. the person who was supposed to beto the other woman who looks just like her and she's like it's me it's Sarah like she doesn't know you you've never she doesn't know who Sarah is like I don't know that bothered me get it right

It's. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the Castle's daughter, was one of the producers on this. Oh, OK. But yeah, I mean, I do like the concept. Not that a ghost is sending emails in its free time, but I like the concept that. What other emails does it say? Is it a Nigerian Prince ghost? No, but I like the fact that everyone shows up at this house and no one one tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho tho thi no one thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, thi, the their, the the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, their, their, th........ th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi, thi, thi, thi, th fact that maybe that that everyone shows up at this house and no one knows who anyone is and you know the concept that they're all sort of suspicious of everyone you know the original if Vincent Price picked them he at least has some knowledge of why
Starting point is 00:24:13 they're there but you know with Academy Award winning actor Jeffrey Rush looking around and making maybe it's harder to say every time it gets harder to say every time. It gets harder to believe as this film goes on. I mean, when he's looking around and thinking maybe these people are here to kill me, maybe she's here to kill me, maybe they're here to kill her, maybe Chris Catan will kill us all. Which is a movie I would love to watch. Yes. I mean, it's like a good concept but they don't do anything with it, they don't succeed at succeed succeedthat concept. You don't believe there's any tension between any of these people really. No, and the doctor, Peter Gallagher, is having a relationship with Funka Jansen.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Was he not? Yes. He was not, because at one point, Tei Diggs looks at the poster and sees the last names and says, why isn't Blackburn on here? Okay, and that's how they figure out th.................. That's, the th. That's, th. That's, th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, they, they, they, they, they, they, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, thi. And, thi. And, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. their, their, their, their, their okay, okay. And that's how they figure out that he's in on it somehow. Right, right. Okay. But then she just kills him for like straight just for no reason. Yeah, yeah. She don't give an F. No, she's cold. Right. I feel like you would need to give a slight F to kill somebody but not that. Yeah, that's not that any thi. she should have been way more murdery then. Like, she seemed to have a real predilection for it. Well, she didn't give an F though, because she's like...
Starting point is 00:25:29 Thanks for keeping it clean. Oh, no worries. She's just like, no cop will even look for you. I'm just going to kill you and no one will care. Yeah, it's true. Yeah, she's a sociopath. She and she and Academy award-a-a both have like fake deaths too, which I did not appreciate this time watching through.
Starting point is 00:25:50 I was like, don't do this. Like, I don't, don't pretend like you're dead. You know? I don't know. It happens and you're like, oh cool, the film's probably got five minutes left. And they spring back to life and it's like, oh no, we're in for another 35. They're never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never never they're never. Starting point is 00:26:16 adorable Harry Potter character when he came back as a ghost that's also where Brigitte Wilson Sambrus says as a ghost, they're all dead. I'm sorry, they're all here, everyone who died. Oh yeah. What do you mean everyone who died in the fire? Everyone who's ever died ever? Like, who is there? There's Socrates and Hitler?
Starting point is 00:26:39 They're all here. And like, why is that a draw? I also have the note right after that that says, in quotes, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the doctor, the, tho, tho, thi, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, thi, tho, tho, tho, thoes, thoes, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is, is, is, is, theeea.ea.ea.eaugh, says, is, is, that's, thea.ea.ea.ea.ea, thoooo also have the note right after that that says, in quotes, the doctor is in. But I don't remember what that's about. Does somebody say that? The ghost blob says that. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:26:53 It cycles through these different faces of people that it has swallowed. And you know, Brigitte Wilson, Sampress. You know, after she says her thing, the doctor's face pops up and he just says the doctor is in. That's pretty good and bad. So is that Jeffrey Combs' one line in this movie then? I guess, oh yeah, I guess he does have a line. There's just so many things that don't make sense. There's a, not to keep harping on the original, but, the the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, the guns, th and, thua, thaguun, thagu. thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, the, the, the, thi, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is, is thi.. thi. So, is thi. thi. thi. thi. they. they. they. they. they. they. that's, that's, that's that's, that's that's that's that's that's that's, is, is, is, is original, but the original, the guns are made, there's a big deal made about the guns.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Like there are X amount of handguns. They're each given a gun, right? Yeah. And there's like, they're in these little coffins, and it's like, they're in these little coffins and it's like, I don't know, they're filled with blanks. Just when you're shooting Jeffrey Rush. Who then confronts his wife and is like, I've been watching everything you do, I've been spying on you, I know everything you do, but like she's openly having affairs. Like, why is he spying on her?
Starting point is 00:27:54 She doesn't care, like nobody cares. Why don't they just get divorced? It seems a very stressful life. They're staunched Catholics and they can't get divorced. How did Peter Gallagher show up at the party anyway? I know this is a very minor detail, but this really bothered me because they all arrived like chauffeur. Oh, he's reading his invitation too. He has an invitation, but the ghosts didn't invite him.
Starting point is 00:28:14 No, they didn't. And Stephen Price, or Academy of the invite? How did he wind up in a car? How did he a car know to pick him up? That's a good question. And if there were five survivors, I guess they just only picked, the ghost only picked some of them, or maybe some of them picked, maybe some of their ins or their heirs declined to the invitation. Yeah, they, two didn't. Yeah, two people didn't. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Two. Two. Two. Two. Two people. Two people. Two people. Two people. Two people. Two people. Two people didn't. Two people didn't. Yeah, the. Yeah, their. Two people didn't. Yeah, their. their. their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. the ghosts. Right. Yeah. Well, that's dumb. Or not, because those two are living fine. That's true. Although they do not have cashiers checks for a million dollars, which you absolutely cannot do it. You can't just write a cash to cash.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Right to cash. Like you're going to walk in a PNC you. You got one of them Stephen Price Checks. You can't do that. There's serious tax implications to giving away that amount of money to. I thought the same thing. It's like $10,000. You could only get $10,000. It's $14 in 2016. Oh, shit. That changes everything. Yeah. So now when we have that haunted house, we can give away $14,000, which we do not have. And nor do we have a haunted house. I would love it if this film actually had a large section where they talked about the tax implications of the prizes. They're like, is this, do I have to report this?
Starting point is 00:29:37 Am I going to get down from the building? I'm hoping jumped. They made tiny parachutes out of their cashiers checks and floated to safety. Tate eggs had wings? That's the most plausible. We can all assume he has wings. Yeah. He's an angel. He's a god damn beautiful angel. He's a former Major League player, which I guess is why he's desperate. I mean I don't yeah. The only thing we see him do to like indicate that is like do us like RBI single swing and knock a glass out of someone's hand and I was like about they're a baseball player. Well there's there's the alley larder butt pat too. Aren't baseball players always pat each other on the butts? A lot of a good game after he wanted her butt. Nice hustle.
Starting point is 00:30:26 I mean, this movie is pretty action-packed if nothing else. A lot of things happen. Oh yeah, yeah. I appreciate that. Just terrible looking action. Just everything looks so cheap. Yeah. It's really, and it's clear they're trying to make a wealthy-looking art deco sort of palace, but it looks like a film company
Starting point is 00:30:46 with not a lot of money tried to make an art deco-looking palace. Yeah. Yeah. That's, I guess that's why we only see basically a stained glass window. That's the extent of like the fancy shit that they have. And then the basement. You walk in and immediate it's like, that's, that's like, did Chris Catan's dad build this? Rick Catan? My boy's gonna be in a movie, I can do the sets. It's got a $19 million budget.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Hmm, I bet a lot of that was salaries. I mean, award-winning actor, Jeffrey Rush. He's got to command something. That's statue. That has a price tag on it. that's true. that has a price tag on it on it on it on it on it on it on tag on tag on tag on tag on tague. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. tha. tha. tha. tha. that's that's that's that's that's a price that's a price that's a price that's a price that's a price. that's a price. that's a price. that's that's a price. that's a price. that's a price, that's a price, that's a price, that's a price, that's a price, that's a price, that's a price, that's a price that's a price that's a price that. that. that. that. that. that. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. ta. tha. that's a today. that's a tha. that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that's a that are made for so much less that seem to give you so much more. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:31:30 Right. No, and thinking back, there are only, I think two, like, effects that I saw that I thought, that's really beautiful and that looks good. And one of them was the face. And the other was towards the end when the house is going full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full full. the the house is full. I. I. I'm. the the the house is going. the house. I'm. the house. the house. the house. the house is full. the house. the house. I'm the house. I's. I's. the house. the house. I. the house. I. I've. I've. the. the. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. I've. the. was towards the end when the house is going, the house, when the house is going full on, I'm going to kill you now. Tay Diggs, Ali Larder and Jeffrey Rush are running down a hallway. And the hallway kind of twists and turns and develops sort of like a mouth as it's trying to swallow them. And I thought that looked really good. It was kind of startling because everything else was kind of a to, th seemed out of place, but just in isolation. I thought it was a really nice looking effect.
Starting point is 00:32:06 Oh yeah, the practical effects really shine. Like there's the scene where the guy's sharpening the pencils and then they stick the pencils. Yeah, I love that. I forgot to, I really actually really like. I really actually really like that. like you know this movie might be dope like what's going on right now there's like super gory like just I was like he sharp and he was gonna go in his head aren't they they're gonna go his that no just throw it aren't I'm down with that I'm down with that I feel like that had to have been Greg

Yeah, he's in the vape shops. Are there any good names for vapeat the va? I don't know what the bluemphs.
Starting point is 00:33:45 The Vap Inn? Is that one of the vapein? I-N? It's not good. It's not great. You might be surprised to learn it's not an inn. No, the vape is in. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:57 I don't know. It's not bad. As far as vape shops go, it seems like there must be a huge market for it because they're everywhere. Who is going to them? Or a Dracula themed one called the Vape Cape? Oh. It would be good.
Starting point is 00:34:16 You get one and you just take it to. Where are we this movie? I have the the the the the th. th the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. It's, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, my notes. Well, the pencil thing reminded me of a couple things that I wanted to ask, and this is just even again, more nitpicky, but more like, I, you know, I couldn't enjoy this film for many reasons, but this started from the bad, just thinking like, my mind was going overdrive and I kept asking myself these questions like, how did all of the patients break out of their rooms in thisthis hospital? Why is this the flimpsiest hospital ever? It's true. They seem to have no problem just plowing over every security measure, bursting open every door. When they drop sort of these like lead shields to protect the hospital,
Starting point is 00:34:55 why did it not all go up? Why is there any semblance of a building still standing? That's true? So, I mean, I'm like two minutes into this film, and I'm like, none of this makes sense already. Nothing's even scorched. No, it looks fine. It looks fine. There's no fire damage. I guess Chris Catan's dad did a spectacular job. Renovating it.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Wasted all his money on repairing the fire damage and then just had nothing left for marble floors. So he just painted black and white squares. He did, didn't he? And if he had just loved his son a little bit more, rather than this building. If he had gone and been there at the T-Ball game instead of trying to fix that hallway, he might not have died. That's true. No, tea-bo-cratel. T-cat's in the cradle.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Oh, what is that? The the man on the moon. It's so sad. I do want to point out, there were two instances of craming the word fucking into the middle of other words in this movie. Oh, I didn't hitch them. Because they were like, we got on our rating. What do you guys want to do here?
Starting point is 00:35:58 One was enter fucking tainment. I like that. Uh, Taydix has his raw dig a line, too. Where he's the black person? Yeah. I knew I should have to keep my ass at home. Yeah, he had that great end line too, which was like, wait, did I write this down? Yeah, the last line of the film was,
Starting point is 00:36:32 that was one kickass party. Yeah, it wasn't. It wasn't. There should have been a guitar squeal. Aren't you glad your basements just like run-of-the-mill scary? Like just like a clanking boiler scare and like some litter boxes for me? Yeah, the biggest fear is where did the cat pay that I have to go clean up? Yeah. Starting point is 00:37:06 Ah, I said it. I mean I can't do a movie so I'm a terrible director too so we're in the same boat. It was also in, I know what you did last summer. Trick our treat. Oh right, it's very effective in that.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Yeah. That's cool. Like someone, at least someone was giving Marilyn Manson some money for something.. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. You. I want someone to make a, a Jiff or whatever of the. A J-PIG.
Starting point is 00:38:23 An animated J-Pick of Marilyn Manson with the, you know, the Flenstone's like bird going, It's a living! What's Marlon Manson saying that? Poor Marilyn Manson. Ah, he's doing fine. Is he fine? Okay, sorry, kids.
Starting point is 00:38:39 He's got all those lunchbox collector. What are you talking about? That was his thing when he started out. Really? Yeah, guys, don't make me look like a Marilyn Manson fan. Sorry about your shame. I thought maybe you just meant they made lunch boxes out of one of his album covers and he's still selling them for $2 a pop. I would take that to work with me. He was big in to collect like 70s cartoon lunch boxes. That's. That's. That's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. He's. Starting point is 00:39:57 I think, yeah. Are we moving on to the... Rating space? Who wants to go first? You do. All right. Oh boy. This was a real ghost ship experience for me.
Starting point is 00:40:10 This was a yeah I actually had fun talking about it with you guys. And I actually thought a little better of the movie, like kind of seeing the enjoyment that you guys have had with it at some point. Oh, that's really cute that you guys like it. No, no, not not. Starting point is 00:40:34 I really didn't like it. My last note is that sucked, I was, the, the, the, that, th, the, th, the, th, th, the, the, th, th, the, the, that, the, the, that, that, that, the, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th th threats, th th th that, that, that, that, that, that, th that, th for me at all. I'm gonna give it a three. All right. Yeah, it was, I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:40:57 You don't have all a little sorry. I'm actually not sorry because I this is a movie I watch probably like once every other year. Oh, that's awesome. And I know it isn't because you just finish it with that that's sucked. What? How many movies do I watch that you think are garbage? Oh, all of them? I just showed you my head that I bought shopping mall and you're like, I didn't say, mm. I said, hmm. It's a very distinct difference. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I th. I th. I th. I th. While watching it, I could see that it was very 13 ghosts. And I could see that it was very, um, ghost ship and just those bad late 90s movies. I could smell it on it, but I just had enjoyed it so much as a teenager that I can't I can't turn my back on it so I'm gonna give it a seven no I'm gonna give it a
Starting point is 00:41:50 six and a half six and a half just because it's so it's so funny if nothing else it's a really funny movie I like that you changed right before you took your hand off your chestpiece you really you gotta you gotta say it before you quit. And I just recall this being a movie where I would like go to change my laundry over in the basement and then run up the stairs real fast because there might be a scary doctor down there.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Which, it bums me out that I'll probably never feel that way again. Like I saw it get a little creeped out after seeing a scary movie, but I'll never feel like like like like like like like like the the the th a tha thage thia thia thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi to get like, I'm like, I'm to get like, I'm to get like, I'm to get like, I'm like, I'm to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to'm sorry but I can't go in the basement because I saw this movie or like I don't home invasion movies don't do that for you not really I just feel like I'll never get that feeling back and I feel like that's how people get into drugs do you know what I mean you're chasing the scare dragon I don't I don't know you're chasing the scare dragon I I don't I don't know I th I just th I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just th I just th th th th th I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th the the the the the the th the the the th th th th the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the I just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just I just I just I just just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just I just th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thr-I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi th thi th the th th thi, I mean isn't that why we watch horror movies? Starting point is 00:43:33 years. Doing so for this episode made me realize all these questions and all these things like, well, that just doesn't make any sense at all. Why are they calling it a house for two hours? So that said, I'll give it maybe a five and a half. I think compared to some of those other films they went on to make, like 13 ghosts, this is a little bit more coherent than some of those later ones. They seem to get a little bit worse with each one they put out.
Starting point is 00:44:01 So at least this has like a semi-logical beginning, middle, and end, and you can kind of follow that arc. But that's a very, that's damning with faint praise to say, you know, it has a beginning middle and end. Thus it is a movie. They didn't stop halfway through. Which they kind of did with 13 ghosts, so. Yeah, for sure. so I guess that's something do you want it just do you know what else is something Katie cryptoium Ross we have a sponsor well actually we have two sponsors for right now we're gonna talk about our first sponsor cryptochurium sounds exciting tell me more Katie
Starting point is 00:44:40 tell him more cryptochurium is a monthly subscription box that you can order for 35 dollars a month it gets I'm do you is a monthly subscription box that you can order for $35 a month. It gets, I feel like I'm looking at you, like you've actually never heard this before. Tell me more, go on. It gets delivered to your door, and inside is all kinds of sweet handmade shit made by our friend Jason,
Starting point is 00:44:57 and it looks like we have something here. Yes, Jason just send us something recently. This is not the parcel of terror, but it is something that he's did recently of a tiny statue of Sam. Oh, true. Can you guys hear this? It's wrapped in high quality plastic. It's possible to get into. It's like trying to get out of a scary house on haunted hill. It's so gorgeous. That is really amazing.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Yeah. That's beautiful. Do you have to, oh it's got the half eaten lollipop and everything. Yeah. Do you have to, but you can get all kinds of amazing stuff like this if you subscribe to the parcel of terror. And I don't know why you wouldn't. Here Ross look at that.
Starting point is 00:45:37 touch that plasticy paint smell it. Oh yeah, that's good. You want to put that the... Put that in a bag and just sit in your backyard, huh? It feels good man. Jason, that scare dragon. Well yeah, Jason, thank you so much for sponsoring us. Yeah, and if you want to sign up for cryptoccurium, you can get it at cryptocurium.com at CRYPTOCURIUM dot com. Why don't you? Stop it? Stop not doing it. Come on guys. I'm not doing it. And if you do sign up let Jason know that you heard about it from us. Yes so he keeps giving us thi. So he knows it his money is going was cool with it. Like how we tried to manipulate his children and telling him to give us more money in the Coraline episode.
Starting point is 00:46:27 I legitimately felt bad about that. I feel like we were in such a sadness hold of that point. It was just like anything we say it can't be helping. It's very sad, yeah. Have you guys listened to the underpinning of existential crisis that was going up in the entire thing. It's so true. Should I have saved that for mail bag?
Starting point is 00:46:58 Well, that was our minute. That was this week's mail bag. Do you want to say it real quick? All right, done and done. Well, we also have a message on the facingacing Book where someone suggests in a movie to us. Oh, what is it? It's from Alicia Marabella. I'm sure I but... Beautiful name. She says, hey guys, just a quick suggestion of a terribly good movie for the podcast. 2015's Hellions, Hellions on Netflix. Thanks for putting out the podcast every week. Oh shit, th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi that's that's to to to to to to thi to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to th. Thanks for putting out the podcast every week. Oh, shit, you're welcome, Alicia.
Starting point is 00:47:25 Oh, yeah. Thanks for listening. It's really sweet of you. It's always weird when people we don't know, listen, don't you think? How did you like us? You really like us. We also have a second sponsor this week, Ross. Can you believe it?
Starting point is 00:47:39 I can't.. A friend Mike Bukowski, small, what do you call it, printing, publishing, publishing, house? I'd call it a hospital. Watching hospital? Called Seventh Church Ministries. He puts out zines, basically, of people's art. He's done a bunch of his own art for the illustro-obscureum, which are these like H.P. Lovecraft-themed monster zines that he draws. But he's got one coming up called FantasmaGoria for Johanna Oast. I hope I'm not butchering that name too bad. That sounds right. And that is coming out, if I remember correctly, June 17th at 11 a.
Starting point is 00:48:18 And we've actually put a, uh, one of the drawings is on Instagram. We reposted that. And it's really gorgeous. And this is going to be something that you're going to want to have in your collection. Mike always does an awesome job with these. They're all hand-assembled. And there's very limited run quantities of these. You're going to want to get in there.
Starting point is 00:48:40 She's doing, Fantasma Goria is all based on Victorian ghost stories. The scariest of ghost stories. Yeah, yeah, it's the peak of ghost stories. That's why all ghosts look like Victorian ghosts now, no matter what they're doing. Or they look like weird Rorschach test as we learned from this movie. But, so yeah, go check this out. You can go to 7 Church Ministries. that's where you'd go to order it as well. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, their, to, their, to, and, and, their, their, their, to, their, to, their. to, to, their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their. their.e.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.ea.e.e.e.e. the the the the the you'd go to order it as well. I believe there's links to order from there. But you can also follow Seven Church Ministries on Instagram and Mike does updates on there and does pictures of the art from the Zines and stuff. So it's definitely worth checking out. Yeah. So thanks for sponsoring Mike.
Starting point is 00:49:16 So yeah, we've definitely added Hellions to our list. And actually next week we are going to be doing another movie from our list that was suggested by a number of you, which is probably because I mocked it earlier, and I'm sorry. But normally when Netflix pushes something on me, it's usually bad. Fuck you, last shift. You watched, I can't have you watched. Did you finish it? No, God no. But my eyes can never take that back. They've seen the awfulness that is that movie. So we're not doing last shift. We're doing hush. Shh. We're doing hush. So we'll do that next week. It's on Netflix. Watch it. You've probably
Starting point is 00:49:50 already watched it because Netflix is like, just watch this goddamn thing already. New episodes of Grace and Frankie, but you can't see them until you watch Hush. I love the suggestions. I love the suggestions because I watch a lot of British crime dramas and horror movies. thi suggestion list is just like you watch blood down line yet you watch last shift you watch I don't know. Rosemary in time. Rose Marian time you watch murder she wrote what are you doing? Yeah what are you doing? I like we can't mix this together so we'll just give you both. Thanks Ross for being here. Thanks for giving me an excuse to watch this movie without feeling guilty. You are welcome and I apologize heartily again. No, no, please, come on. I've made people watch garbage. A lot of our guests have a lot to apologize for and I just feel like this is probably not one of them. I remember neon maniacs. Never forget. That's always like the standard of things that we're supposed to be terrible, but but I I I I I I I I I I I I I I the the standard. But I the standard. But I th. But I th. But I th. But I th. th. th. th. thin. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. thea. th, we've watched some bad stuff. Sure.
Starting point is 00:50:45 God Monster of Indian flats. Yeah, a frightmer. Those are like our first two guest episodes too, I think, weren't they? Yeah. Great job, guys. I have a special place of love for God Monster of Indian flats. I will never watch it again. It's a monster made out of sheep.
Starting point is 00:51:02 Oh yeah, it was made out of sheep. That poor god monster though, he deserved to live. Thanks, Carrie. Thanks, Ross. Thanks for real. Thank you. And thanks so much for listening to another episode of a werewolf ambulance. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye.
