Starting point is 00:00:00 Alan, Alan, what are you eating? Um, uh... Is that dog food? No, no, no, it's stew ain't never had long, pig? Oh. Cannibals! Maybe I'm a cannibal now. Hey, how do you feel, though? Well, I went from being vegetarian and being a cannibal. I think that's the natural progression of life.
Starting point is 00:00:36 It's like going from being a Democrat to a Republican, like you do as you age. Um, how do you feel after eating meat? Oh, people meat. Unbelievably vital. Great. Vital or virile? Too messent. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Yeah. So. You are who you eat. Which is the tagline of the movie? Revenous. Hello and welcome to another episode of Werewolf Ambulance. I'm Alan. I'm Katie. We're gonna talk about movies. You guys know what we do. You know what we do. This is episode 93. Math is
Starting point is 00:01:17 hard. 93. So you guys know what we're doing. Yes, hopefully you've listened to the other 92 and a half episodes of this. But if you haven't, welcome. Welcome and we're going to spoil this movie. And also why would you start with ravenous of all things? Why wouldn't you? Very popular movie. I had never heard of it. Really?
Starting point is 00:01:34 Yeah, but when I told Rob that we were watching it, he was like, oh it? Mexican American. Yeah. And also, apparently everybody that's in this movie was in other war movies, other than like Beetlejuice ad. But he was like, oh, that guy's in Band of Brothers. Oh, that guy's in saving Private Ryan. I was like, Rob, I don't care. I've never seen those. Those aren't horror movies. Do you know that I can't hear saving private Ryan without hearing its porn parody shaving Ryan's privates. Is that poarny to shave someone's privates? I think so. Is that like a fetish?
Starting point is 00:02:10 My favorite porn parody to date is for a clear and present danger. Yeah. Which is a clear and pleasant stranger. I like that. That's very good. Man, I just heard a good one recently, and I care what it was. It must have just been Chicabooom. Chicoom. Chicoom. Chicoom.
Starting point is 00:02:34 Chicoom. 12. Do you think someone will do bear wolf slambulance now? Ew. Slambulance is a funny word, but it does not roll off the tongue well. You have to really slambulance. You have to work for it. Yeah as you should. Just like you do when you're eating humans you have to work for it. They really don't though. Okay let's like... Do you want to try to summate this film? Yeah I want you to try to subm British lady, right? Yeah. There's one woman in the film.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Yes. And at the end she walks out like, I'm fucking out of here. Which I want to discuss. This is like, I didn't know it was gonna be a comedy. Like the first quote, the first shot of the movie is this like, black scream is a quote from Nietzsche. He that fights monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. Right. Freddie Nietzsche as I wrote to sure your boy Freddy. Followed by a B-Wong and then it says Eat Me anonymous and I was like is this Encinoma Man? And I was like is this Encinoma Man? Like what am I watching? The sound effect that comes along with eat me is like what the fuck I did not remember? I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I this this this. I th. I th. I the the the the the the th. I th. I the sound. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I the sound. I th. I th. I th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. F. the the the the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that that th. th. th. th fuck? I did not remember, I've seen this movie in 2000, in the year of our Lord. Yeah, I did not remember this being,
Starting point is 00:03:49 did not remember this being a comedy. I felt like it was a bit of a joke that I wasn't in on. Do you know what I mean? Like, I was like, this is supposed that. But let's first try to submit this. Hunky, hunky Guy Pierce. He does look great. Yeah. Looks great.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Although very vacant in this movie. It's kind of his thing. If you've ever seen the proposition? No. Oh, it's my favorite Guy Pierce movie. th podcast previously. It's one of the most depressing movies I've ever seen. Yeah, you know I love a depressing film. I know. Guy Pierce is great.
Starting point is 00:04:27 And he's pretty good in this, too. But we start off with him, and he is at a memorial luncheon celebrating getting a medal in the Mexican-American War. I'm clear. And it turns out he's actually a coward, which we find out shortly thereafter. He like looks at his food and then goes outside to barf. Yeah, because it's just the bloodiest steak that ever existed. Get that man some lentils, you know, like, help this man clean it up. But he in a little bit tells a tale of how he pretended to be dead, laid in a pile of bodies,
Starting point is 00:04:59 and the blood of his major was pouring into his mouth. Gross. And it gave him the virility that he needed to fight back. Whoa. That whole connection literally had not occurred to me until you just said that. And I feel like a bozo. I feel like a bozo because he wasn't wounded. He was just a baby. I mean, not that war isn't terrible. And that I would be OK okay because I certainly would not and I'm not mocking anything about war and
Starting point is 00:05:26 oh my god you guys are heroes and thank you for your service. I would start laying down in boot camp and never stop. I would never have gotten there. I would never have gotten there. But it had not occurred to me that the blood dripping into his mouth made him stronger. That is surprising because they're thridden. the the the the the the the the the the th. th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I'm, thi. I was, thi. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I'm, th. I was, th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I, th. I th. I, th. I th. I's, th. I's, th. I's th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm th. I'm not, th. thin, th. I'm th. th. th. thee. the. the. the. the. thi. I'm thi. I'm like, it's like that line is on the end of a mallet that just comes out of the movie and like, cabbang. Yeah. I zoned out of it, as I do. So he is sent to an outpost because his, the general or whatever.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Colonel knows that he is a coward. So he sends him to this outpost in the middle of the Rockies. Slovakia. It's filmed in Slovakia. I have noticed all of the people who worked on the movie, their names ended in itch. Yeah. Or it's touch. I think it was filmed in Mexico and Slovakia.
Starting point is 00:06:17 OK. OK. thoe. tho. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. th. th. th. th. th. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the they. It's they. It's they. It's. It's. It's. It's. It's. the the the the the the the the they. the. the. the. th. th. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. toe. the the the toe. the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the western Sierra Nevada. Okay, right, right, right. Not the Rockies, but... I thought those were part of the Rockies. Who knows? I don't know. I don't know. I live in the Appalachians. They're fine.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I was just in the Poconos. That's where rich people go. So, yeah, he goes to this outpost that just has the quirkiest assemblage of weirdos. It seemed like they were all inept, right? They're all fuck-ups. So they all did something to like basically deserve to be there presumably except for the guy with the pex. Oh yeah the guy named Reich? Yeah, the guy named Reich. Yeah, the's just his very disconcerting and he wears a shirt for almost none of this movie That would you if you had those abs? No No, no, no, or an Mpex no
Starting point is 00:07:12 No, what did he do to get stuck out there? He seemed like a very capable soldier. He had rage problems. Oh, that's why he was screaming in the water. Yeah. Yeah, Jeffrey Jones, aka the dad from Beetlejuice, kind of gives you a quick like overview of everybody's quirks like Jeffrey Davies is just Jeffrey, or Jeremy Davies, is just Jeremy Davies. He's just he's the weird little squirrely religious dude, which is basically what he plays in everything he's in. He's very good at it. I think I first saw him in secretary if you remember that movie. Yes, yes. Weird, sexy times. And, and th. And, and th. And, th. And, th. And, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, thi, thi, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like th, like thi, like thi, like thi, like the the the their, their, their, their, their, their, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, their, their, their, their, their, the the thi, the thi, thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. the the thi, their, saw him in Secretary, if you remember that movie. Yes, yes. Weird, sexy times. And then the note I have that Arquette boy. I could have done more David Arquette in this movie.
Starting point is 00:07:54 I feel like he was a throwaway. We had posted about doing this movie and a bunch of people got back to it. I love this movie, this movie's so great. So our friend Sarah of the Rosemary's Baby episode, I wrote to her and was like, what do you love about this movie? Talk to him about it. And one of the things was that she really loved David Arquettin. And like she thinks like that part was perfect for him. It really is perfect for him.
Starting point is 00:08:19 It's almost his like Brad Pitt and true romance. He just appears in the first act and then disappears for all the second act, which I didn't really like. I wanted him to come back until we see his body. Until we see him. Also beetle juice dad is a sex offender. Yeah. Yeah. Also Ferris Bueller principle. Yeah like in real life. Yeah he's a real life sex. They were both busted for child pornography. Yeah. Yeah. He's also the host of this like 1980s Disney production that I really love called DTV monster hits and it is basically it was like a thing that aired around Halloween on network television where they took like Halloween sort of songs like thriller and superstition and monster mash and then set Disney cartoons to them like music videos and I have it on VHS I converted it to DVD noise and I watch it four
Starting point is 00:09:18 times a year and he's the man in the mirror and then I hate it because he's a sex offender. Yeah I really like him as an actor but it because he's a sex offender. Yeah, I really like him as an actor, but not so much. Not so much as a sex offender. It's pretty gross. It's pretty gross. I always wondered about that because I'm like, how does he keep getting roles?
Starting point is 00:09:33 Is he still working? Yeah, because the sex offender know. It was in the 2000. He was in Deadwood. He's been in a lot of stuff. Like, maybe it was all. Maybe they're not filmed near schools. I don't know. M'n't, so. So as they're all hanging out and getting to know each other, Robert Carlisle shows up at a window and tells them this, what, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, the, the, the, the, they, they, they, they, they, they they they're they're they're not, they're not, they're not, they're not, they're not, they're not, maybe, maybe, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe they're not, maybe, maybe, maybe they're not, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe they're not......... they're not. they're not.. they're not. they're not. they're not. they're not. they're not. they're not. they're not. they're not, they're not, they're not they're not, they're not, they're not. they're not, they're not. they're not. they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not they're not. Well, he's like, okay, so he's like frozen. And they put him in warm water and they just touch him all over.
Starting point is 00:10:09 You gotta warm him up. You gotta warm him up, just touch them all over. And they're like, wow, this frostbite cleared up really quickly. And then later I was like, I get it. But he's like, I've been like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've like, I've th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. the. the. the. they they the. they they they they they put they put they and I just wish that my hair looked like that but then his hair is different like every time they show him in the movie yeah what is going on I don't know okay I don't know but he eventually just started slicking it back which I think helps that helps everybody yeah I agree so he talks about leaving a woman with this colonel Ives who is this totally corrupt and demonic colonel,
Starting point is 00:10:47 who led his party astray and eated them all, except for this one woman. And they ate the horses, too, which I really liked. They ate the horses, they ate the bulls. Foul the fox. Would you leave those poor animals alone? They're beautiful and majestic. Just because they have soulful eyes, it doesn't mean they're not monsters. It's true. It's true. We both know it.
Starting point is 00:11:08 We do. Yes. So he leads them to a cave. At one point, Jeremy Davies' character falls down the side of a mountain and gets a cut on his side. Not so bad that he can't keep moving forward to try and rescue this lady. And he wakes up in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in in the the the the the the the the the the the the their their And he wakes up in the middle of the night and Robert Carlisle is lapping at his wound. Yeah, and he's like, oh, I don't know, I was sleeping.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Like, no, sir. Time to me up, ti me up. Yeah. And he demands to be restrained. And then, before they left to go on this mission, the camp with them tells them the story of the windigo. George. George, sorry, thank you. No, that's, you don't have to be sorry. And he tells them the windigo is a like demonic spirit that basically takes over a person when they eat human flesh. I thought a windigo was a bug. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:11:58 I don't know why I thought it was like a flying insect. The first or second episode, or maybe a second or third episode of Supernatural in season one is about a windigo. It's been a while. I think it's from scary stories to tell in the dark. There was one about a windigo and I was like, that's a bug. I don't know why. I have to go back and look at it. I don't know. scene, okay, where they're in the cave, so Reich and Boyd is Guy Pierce's character. Yes. They go into this cave and they're looking for the woman, I guess, or any signs of life. Everything that happens from the time they go into the cave until this whole scene ends, seems just completely implausible to me. Like him going down to that hole. Like him going down into that hole. and also like everybody just watches Jeffrey Jones gets stabbed like yeah everybody has here's the thing about
Starting point is 00:12:48 this movie everybody has a weapon in their hand but either they don't know how to use it seemingly despite being army guys or they just forget it's there. I was watching this with Missy and there was at one point I think guy no yeah Guy Pierce shoots Robert Carlisle Who we will learn later on it is actually current lives right right which like you saw that come in what is he calhoon in the beginning He's like I'm Scottish you're not he wasn't that transpoting that's true. He wasn't that trains spotting that's true he so boy shoots Calhoun and then he like kind of jumps right back up? then he? He? He? He? He th. th. th. th. He th. He th. He th. He th. He like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he like, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, th, th, th. We th, we th, we the th. We the the the they, we they, we they. We th, we th, we th, we th, we th, I th, we th, I th, I th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th. We'll th. We'll the, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, the, like, like, the, the, the, the, the, the spotting. That's true. So Boyd shoots Calhoun and then he like kind of jumps right back up. And Missy's like, shoot him again and she's like, oh, that's not how those guns work. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:13:34 That's true. But the religious guy literally just stands there and watches Colonel Hart, who's Jeffrey Jones, gets stabbed. He's holding a gun, too. You could at least just beat the guy with a gun. You know what I mean? Even if you're out of shot. I don't know. Just very, I don't know. No one ever knows they're holding a gun,
Starting point is 00:13:57 seemingly in this movie. So Reich falls down a hole. He goes on the hole in purpose. Rike and Boyd fall'sthe side of the mountain. Well, Boi Falls, Boyd jumps. Not, no, but first they find all those bodies in the cave. But they're like, who is this? Oh, when he climbed down, I'm sorry, when he climbed down into the hole, yeah. Climbed on the rope. Yeah, who is it? In the body. the body. they. theythat. They like count them and there's like one extra, which I just remember now. Right. Who is that? I guess that's Calhoun.
Starting point is 00:14:31 So since he was Colonel Ives, there was six people in the party plus, there was six bodies. And there were six bodies. And there were an extra body but there wasn't an extra body. No well there was there were more bodies in there you thought there should be they thought I've got away they thought I've got away correct correct. All right. It's very there was a military uniform like on the ground and stuff. Okay so they were very confused. I'm very confused it's fine. Okay so they like he jumps off a boyed boy jumps off the cliff. Well void yeah yeah yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the. the. the. Yeah. the. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. the. the. Yeah. the. the. the. the. the. they. they. they. they. they. they. the. there. there. there. there. there. I was. I was. I was. I was. I was. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. I th. I th. I Boyd jumps off the cliff. Well, Boyd, yeah, after, um, right gets, uh, gets stabbed, right? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Yeah, because Robert Carlisle's got the big knife and he stabs him and he falls off the cliff and then Boyd jumps, and they both end up in the same hole. I mean, that fall kills you, right? No, the tree stop you. Sure. It was no damage. Also, why was Reich strangling him at the bottom of it? I don't know. That was, I was just watching it like, whoa, okay? He got them rage issues. I guess, I guess.
Starting point is 00:15:35 But he sort of, he dies pretty soon after they get into the hole. That's true. And then cowhune slash, I I I, I, Cshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshshsht, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I th, I th, I th, I th, I th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, th, th, th, th, th, I, th, I, I, I, way ahead of its time, because there are no bombs with whistles on them here in the Mexican-American War. I do, I love how animalistic he is. Yeah, sure. When they first get to the cave and he's like, he's hidden a knife, which you find out because he started digging like a dog?
Starting point is 00:15:59 Oh yeah, but nobody stops him. Nobody's like, hey, hey, hey, hey, thops, thops, hey, thops, thops, th, hey, th, th, th, th, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I thi, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I tho, I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I th. I thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi thi. I thi thi. I thoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. I th. nobody's like, hey, this guy's losing his mind me, we should restrain him. They're all, that's what I'm saying. The scene is so inexplicable to me, because everybody just stands around and watches everything happen. Right. Like, you guys, your army guys. I know you're like the shit army guys. And they sent you out to this far flung out. But like, you have had some more training. And I thr-I I that, that, that, that, that, they. that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, thi. that's thi, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's just just just just just just just just that's they. they. that's just just that's just, they. T. T. that's just just just, they. that's just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just just, they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. they. th. th. thi. thi. that's just, that's that's that's thi. that's thi. thi. thi. they. they. they. they. this guy. I feel like the two guys who could have done something were inside the cave while he was doing that. I guess but Boyd wouldn't have anyway because he's a coward right is my understanding. Okay and then when he's looking when Robert Carlisle is looking for Boyd he's just like sniffing around the forest and like kind of tracking yeah. Okay in that scene. the music for them this movie was done by Damon.barne, who's the guy from Blur? Oh really? I think so. I have that written down but I'm not sure if it's true, so I'm going to look real quick.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Okay. Yeah, it's the guy from Blur and I'm going to look athe the guy from Blur and still really do. Yeah, I like him as an adult. Yeah, that in the opening credits, I was like, oh awesome, he did music. I bet it's gonna be really cool. It is not. The bluegrass jamboree chase scene?
Starting point is 00:17:13 It's like comedic and intrusive. That scene sounds like the shenanigans from Milo and Otis. Do you know what I mean? Like when they they they're they're they're they're they're they're they're like, when they're they're they're like, when they're like, when they're like, when they're like, when they're like, when they're like, when they're like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, they're, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, they're like, their, their, their, their, their, their, they, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, their, they're like getting into some shit, that's what it sounds like. It just seems so out of place and intrusive, like, and a good score, I feel like you don't really notice that much. Yeah. This one I was like, what are you doing? Yeah, yeah. Like, it took you out of what was ever, like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:17:36 Like what was ever? Exactly. Yeah, I feel like. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. the. the. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, th. And, the. And, the. And, to. And, to. And, to. And, toe. And, toe. And, toe. And, the. And, the. And, the. And, 'll put that in there. Yeah, just plug it in. It's fine. It's right here, just do it. Boyd eats right, I guess, in this hole. Yeah, yeah. To get stronger. In this movie, eating people is like finding a slice of pizza in a Ninja Turtles video game, your health bar goes up.
Starting point is 00:17:58 You know what I mean? that the legend of cannibalism is that you eat the power of the person that you're eating? I didn't know that. Yeah. It didn't work in We Are What We Are What We Are? It's true. It's true. Yeah, but he's able to run back to the camp once he eats the the person, once he eats Rake. Yeah, Well, Rakes beautiful, beautiful eyes are staring at him. His cold, dead, beautiful eyes. Sure. Boyd gets back, tries to explain to the drunk that's left at the camp. There was only one guy left, and he was the drunk that was there. Right, because David Arquette and the woman, I'm going to call her the woman, because there's, there's, there's, there's, the the the they, they, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, th, thi, thi, thi, th, th, is, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, boy, is, boy....... He. He. He. He. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. t. t. t. tot, is, is tot, is, is, is a t. tot, is, is, is a try, is, is a try. try. try. tote. tote.'m gonna say call her the woman because there's literally only one. Yeah. I have gone into town three days away. I guess they are back when he gets back.
Starting point is 00:18:48 That's right. Are they? Yeah, David Rokhets there when he gets to go. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. And but the knocks or whatever is now in charge, right. who had initially sent him here. Okay, that's who that was. And they just think that he's a total nutbar. The next note I have says, best response, running headlong into a wall,
Starting point is 00:19:10 but I don't remember what that's about. They say we have a new colonel to take over for an interim, and in walks Colonel Ives, aka Calhoun, a today, Boyd bugs out, spins around and runs flat into a wall. A wall that's like a foot and a half behind them. It's like you had to have known it was there. I don't know. I went to this point, I think there's a lot of good comedic stuff that's happening like that that's like pretty, oh,
Starting point is 00:19:33 that's fun. That's a fun little movie. Like, the the the thrownkjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjo. to to to to to toe. toe. toe. toe, toe, toe, toe, toe, to to have to have to have to have to have to to to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have to have, to have, I to have, I to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to toe, th. the, the, the. the. the the the the the the the the the the the the. the the the. the the. the. too. toe. toe. toe. toe. which is fine. It's a good setup. But then I think after this point, after like the colonel leaves and it's just like Ives and Boyd and Knox and David Arquette, it kind of just stops being funny. Though they're still trying. Yeah, and it like started to drag for me, really bad at this point. Yeah, this is when I felt like I wasn't in on the joke. Yeah. Even just like how Ives is describing how he heard the
Starting point is 00:20:11 legend of the Windigo and he was had tuberculosis and was like basically gonna die and he was like well I just had to try like it's not a fucking essential oil sir like it was just so and I was I couldn't tell if it was even intended to be funny. I think it was. Okay. But I think, for some reason it just sort of fell flat, like for me and for you, I guess. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:33 But like, all these other posts that like, people are sending to us. Like, I loved it. I did it bad. Yeah. And like he's so pushy. Like I couldn't tell if that was like he's he the Ives is a when to go is like pushy like a religious person. Or like a fictional drug dealer that's always trying to push drugs on you which like no one is ever pushed drugs on me in my life. I wish they would. Well at one point he does make the blood cross on his forehead. It's true. It's. It's like. It's they. It's they. It's they they they they they they they they also. No they also. It's true. It's true. They also start quoting Ben Franklin like nothing like what did they say about oh eat eat to live don't live to eat and I was like oh yeah Ben Franklin sure said that. Did he? I did live in Philadelphia for six years you figured out.
Starting point is 00:21:20 You would know it's like nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. Ben Franklin. Like, no. Also, fuck that. Yeah, well, that's really, I mean, Ben Franklin had a lot of good things, like a penny saved, is a penny earned. But he also just said crazy shit like that. Like Ben Franklin must never have had a cupcake. Dog Will Will Hunt. Oh, no, no, no, that that that that that that that that that that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was that was. that was. that was. that. that. that was. that was. that was. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. th. the. that. th. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that. that, that was Chop Top. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:48 Yeah. Well, do we mention that Jeffrey Jones comes back? No, we didn't. He's been revived. He's been windigoes. When he came back, I was like, mm-hmm. I guess he wasn't really dead. He'd been kind of left for dead. Yeah, yeah, and he gets fed. He's forced- fed human meat.
Starting point is 00:22:05 While he's sleeping. Yeah. Which don't ever do that to me. Anyone out there don't ever do that to me. Yeah. Why would they? I don't know who's a one-to-go? You could be a wind-go. I'm like often sick and I bruise, and I bruise, bruise, brui, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, to, uh, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, toendigo now because you didn't want those things to happen anymore. That's true. I have a bruise of my
Starting point is 00:22:27 well whatever. Do you want to just eat my pinky? Let me gnaw on that so I could heal up a little faster. So like the last 40 minutes of the movie are basically Ives talking about how fucking buff you get when you're when to go. Yeah. I'm just talking about how virally is and how strong he is and like. I kept waiting for him to show in his heart on. I would have loved that. I mean like, so there, so Boyd has eaten people.
Starting point is 00:22:57 He's eaten right and apparently he'd tasted his major, which I cannot believe I didn't catch that. I guess I'm a fucking idiot. No, not at all. th. th. they. they they they. they they. they. they they. they. they're. they're. they're. they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're like. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. they're. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I. I'm. I. I. I. I. I'm like, th. I'm just just. I'm like. I'm like, they're like, th. I didn't catch that I guess I'm a fucking idiot. No not at all. No I am that's fine. Um they're like why aren't you why don't you want to get in on this get in on it get in on it get in on it get in on it. Because Jeffrey Jones and Carlile need another person. Because it's going to make it look more like realistic if there's three of them at this camp that are holding it th th th th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. th. th. th. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. they. they. they. they. their. their. their. th. th. th. th. I they's th. I they's the. I the. I they's they're they're they camp that are holding it down rather than just two so that when strangers show up and they eat them it doesn't look as weird. That doesn't make any sense. No it's it's fine. Okay but then all of a sudden Jeffrey Jones is like no no no no just kill me right now. Yeah because he realizes like because he knows that Boyd is going to kill Robert Carlile and so if he doesn't th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. th. the. to to to to to to to to thi. to the. thi. the. And so if he doesn't have Robert Carlisle, this is what I'm assuming. If he doesn't have Robert Carlisle to sort of like be his Wendigo mentor, his Wendor?
Starting point is 00:23:53 He'll be useless and he just wants to die if that's the case. So he kills him. He's throat slit. Yeah. And then this ridiculous ridiculous battleboid th. th. th. thib between bb thib thiboide bboide bboide, that bauuuudeboide, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's th. th. th. th. thi. th. th. thi. th. thi. th. th. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thi. thioooeses. thiooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. He's th.. Yeah, pretty good throat slit. I have to do love with throat slitting. Yeah. And then this ridiculous battle between Boyd and Ives and Seuss. Ives looks like a pirate through the entire thing. Yeah. Just absurd. Did I miss him setting that bear trap up? That bear trap came out of nowhere. Yes. It was like it was so large was, I thought it was too big for a bear. Like, what do you need a trap that big for? I feel like it would just cut a bear in half. I don't know, I'd be them big bears out there, I guess.
Starting point is 00:24:29 Oh, sure, giant trap, why not? It's enormous. It's enormous. It's large enough to to fighting? Are they fighting? Are they fighting or are they fighting? I sort of expected them to kiss. Yeah, and I thought once they were bear trapped together, they'd like, I wish they would have kissed. Two handsome gentlemen go to town on each other. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:53 I'm sorry, what did that sound like, today? And I just keep saying like skate or die. All those bees are going to come up for the ramp and take me out man. I mean, I just don't know. And then Martha, the other native woman, their names are George and Martha. The native people, okay-doke. She like looks in at the two of them caught in this bear trap and she's just like, uh, and turns, does not even react. Just like, she's like, goodbye. Doesn't say anything, just closes the door and walks away.
Starting point is 00:25:34 And then, woohoo! I wish that song had started to like. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. What else did Sarah like about it? Anything? She really likes the director? Cool. She liked that it was directed by a female. Sure. I did. But the subject matter was traditionally masculine. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:57 And it was kind of like handled in a different kind of way. She says, honestly it's more about how dark and weird and humorous it is than the story being the greatest. I just didn't think it was that funny. I feel like, did we miss something? When the first time around I saw it, I really enjoyed it, but I don't remember it being funny. I just remember it being kind of like fucked up and weird. Yeah, I liked the fucked that like eating people makes you stronger like I get it you don't have to keep telling me but I do feel like I just like fuck I missed it how did I miss it yeah yeah that's exactly how I
Starting point is 00:26:33 felt so you want to move on to the rating space I don't have a good one let's get some energy let's get some energy oh oh oh there you go there you gotthe! You gotta stop keeping corpses up here, by the way. Like, I know you get hungry, but it stinks. It stinks. It stinks. It stinks. They're going bad. You're gonna get sick.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Well, I'm just trying to be brutal. Eat them fresh. Put them in a fridge. I'll get you a fridge from here. Just just everybody's dream. I mean, I didn't hate this movie. No. I didn't love this movie, but I didn't hate it. There's a lot of good stuff to it. Like cannibalism, always a plus.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Very competent cast. Very competent cast. Interesting concept, like sort of being stranded in true this outpost from the island of misfit toys of the army you know all that snow that you hate all that snow that I hate but I don't know I guess I was expecting more from how excited people were about it and that's a shame because it wasn't that good six yeah yeah no I felt the same I felt like a told the to f-butt I'm the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the to to to to to to to the the the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the. No. It just didn't it didn't click and there may have been like I could watch it tomorrow night and it might click like it's that kind of film so I would never talk anybody out of seeing it for sure. But yeah six. Like. that that that th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th th. I th th. I th th th th. I th. I thi the the th. Starting point is 00:28:07 No, I didn't. I was like, is this over? Yeah, I actually checked the time stamp a couple times. Oh, buddy. Yeah. Well, at first I was like, this movie's almost over. And then it was like, oh, the last hour. Although it could have been cut, I think, a little on the... You mean they used it really well on Emity too? No.
Starting point is 00:28:27 Unlike. No. Yeah, it just got too talkie or something near the end. Like, um, the gore was great. Really good bloodiness. A lot of blood. It looked beautiful. I've seen another movie that this woman directed called Priest, which is about a gay priest in Ireland, I think. Oh. That was really interesting. She does interesting movies, I think, like I would also say this is an interesting concept for a film. I just feel like
Starting point is 00:28:57 it missed the mark for me. I think if all of the like comedy hadn't thin thin thi to the thrown. It., I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, thi, thi, thi, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thin, thi. thi. thiiiii. thiiiiiii. thii. thiii. thii. thi, thi. thi. theded, the comedy hadn't been in it, I would have liked it a lot more. If it had just been a scary movie about scary dudes fucking eating people, to get buffer and to heal better, and to like get their health bars back up, I'd be like, I'm in. What, I mean, this is like the era of the, like, ha ha ha ha, horror movie though, right? This is Scream. This is, I mean, Scream 2 came out like a year or 2 before. Yeah, like 98 or something. So and all those like crap-ass remakes that we've talked about, like the haunting of Hill or yeah, the haunting and all that stuff. Yeah. They're around the same time period where everyone's
Starting point is 00:29:37 kind of like tonguey cheeky. I guess it was just trying to fit into an era. Yeah. Nah. Nah. They should remake it but as a serious scary movie. Yeah. I would watch that. What were they call it? Revenuses. Mm-hmm. Rural. Rurality?
Starting point is 00:29:58 Yeah, stop saying virile. Just like, doesn't vural just mean like your fur, is that like the male version of fertile? Like, is your sperm so much stronger when you eat people? Is that what they're saying? I don't know. Let's look up a definition for virile. Is it virile or virile? Is it verial or virile?
Starting point is 00:30:13 I don't even know. I don't even know. kind of work? Yeah, virility, the quality of having strength, energy, and a strong sex drive manliness, so it just makes you more man. Okay, I really thought it was like, had to do a three production. I think that every time he said Vera, like the eyebrows went up. Yeah. There was like this weird, like, not weird, but like, he was like exuding towards Guy Pierce, but I think I would do that to guy guys guys, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. to. touding towards Guy Pierce, but I think I would do that to Guy Pierce to a very handsome gentleman. Starting point is 00:30:51 What? Guy Pierce is a memento. I never saw that either. Listen, it's hard for me to see movies. I'm just watching my DTV monster hits, DVD over and over. It it. It it. Starting point is 00:31:30 Yes, I have seen that. I love it. It's great to smoke weed and watch. It really is. You will love it. You will love it. That's what I imagine every time I give my cat's catnip is like happening in their hands. I always just imagine it being the beginning of purple haze.
Starting point is 00:31:50 I think because of fear and loathing in Las Vegas, White Rabbit is my go to drug song. Sure, yeah, that's fair. You know what else is my go-to, Katie? You're go-to drug. I can't even, I cannot do it. It's can't be done. No, not my go to drug. Although I am addicted to getting a cryptocereum parcel of terror and you will be too. Starting point is 00:38:45 I started telling everyone about podcast because of it. You think that's about us right? Then I figured I would see what else was out there. And I found where Wolf Ambulance. And it was all right. This is my dad writing this? He's like, that's good that you're doing something, son, but couldn't you do better? What I really want to know is what the good, what the good podcast was. I bet it was last podcast on the left, those assholes. I bet it was my brother and me. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:39:18 Anyway, says if it wasn't for you too, I wouldn't have found so many great movies that were missing for my life. I can say you single-handedly completed my life by introducing me to God Monster. Oh, that's amazing. So there you go, Carrie. He says, and the Pit. So thank you, the Pit. Wow. Seriously, the Pit. Actually, I just recommended that. Yes you should. It's a terrible creepy movie. It's so gross. Anyhow, keep up the all right show. It's a good show.
Starting point is 00:39:47 He did not say the all right show. Keep up the all right show. It's a good show. Don't throw. He says, then he says, the previous email was sent by an individual or the sense of humor to dry to handle to the extent that it is necessary to send a disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer........ to send. to send. the to send. to send. to send. to send. to send. to send. to send. to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, the the the to to to, to to to to to to to to to to to the to to the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the all right. the all right. to. to. toe. toe. to. to. to. to. to the all right. And you were the first horror movie podcast I listen to and you've remained a staple on my Monday morning grind. You two kick all levels of ass. And I'm happy to say I am a huge fan of the show, almost as much as I am a horror in general.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Almost, duces, the man, the legend, Jacob, the man, the legend, Jacob. So it's almost like the email I wanted to get from my dad was at the end. Yeah, exactly. So thank you, Jacob, for that mail bag that was a roller coaster of self-tell. I had so many feels. I had so many feels when I read it. I was like, well, we're the best part. We're the other podcast. Luckily, at 42, I'm not legally, I'm not legally, I'm not legally, I'm not legally, I'm not legally, I'm not legally, I'm not the the other podcast. Luckily at 42, I'm not legally allowed to have feels. Oh, no, you can have feels. Do they tell you this in therapy?
Starting point is 00:40:47 There's a lot. No, I can have feelings. I'm not allowed to have to have feels. Oh, I'm not allowed to play Pokemon go. Am I only that feels? Probably not. You can have feels. and like not getting a cell phone until I was well into college doesn't really make me a millennial. Are you a cord cutter though? I don't know what that means. Getting rid of cable and all that stuff. No, because I watch live sports.
Starting point is 00:41:09 It's really hard to do without. Sounds like someone's not a millennial. Oh fine, great. So this hundred and seventy-nine dollars and I'm paying to come cast every month to give me my god damn pirates. Yeah, welcome to to to to to to to to to to to to to to the the their their their their their their their their their their their their their their. their their their their their their their their their their their their. Was Comcast previously like nursing me through a cord to give me my vital nutrients? Because that's what that sounds like. I'm not really like that. Speaking of being nursed with vital nutrients and giving life. Wow! What are we doing next week? Next week we're doing the oldest movie we've ever done. A fucking classic. Whoa, what did we do?
Starting point is 00:41:50 Oh, no, by 30 years? Yeah, wow. That's hard. Yeah. We are doing the universal pictures. Bride of Frankenstein. We're going to do Pet Sematary too, Apparently, thrown.
Starting point is 00:42:01 We're thatee. Furlong, but apparently it's really hard to find. So we did a legit classic. An actual movie. Yeah. Not just when we could purposely make photos. Fuck you, Edward, Furlong. You and your weird samurai face. Somebody on Instagram said that they worked on a movie with him, and he asked, came up and asked them if he had any weed, and the person was like, no. And then Erdogan asked if they were asked, toeded, tolded, tolded, to told, to to have, to have, to have, to to have, to to to to, to to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to, to told, told, to to to, to f. Starting point is 00:42:25 And I guess you never paid that $20 back. I would pay $20 to have that story. Oh, yeah, it was a great story. I laughed so hard at it. That Edward Furlong? What did he talk like this? I feel like this? He did kind of as a child. I think, yeah. I think Terminator 2 is the only thing I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:42:45 He was cute in that. I have never seen the movie, but I know what he looked like. I gotta see a Terminator. You know when he looked like he was doing the John Belushi impression in that one photo that you have. Yeah, you mean this one. Do you want to see? like, but. So yeah, Brider Frankenstein, it is on 1935. Yeah, it's in a lot of places. I think it's, is it public domain? It might be, it might be, it might be, you guys can find it.
Starting point is 00:43:13 I own the digital versatile list. Of course you do. But yeah, check it out. Come back next week, listen to that. Tell your friends. I'm sure your friends, tell your friends that you like this all right podcast. Let them know that we have an all right Facebook account. Yeah, and an all right Instagram. And the Twitter is really just actually just subpar. It's all right to AF. Yeah. If you can, if you have a second and you haven't done so already, if you can go on iTunes and give us a rating and a review, or even just a rating, you don'tto write anything I don't even care. It really really really does help us and we just want more people to find us because we're power hungry I would say.
