Hi, it's Lainey. Welcome to the Lainey Gossip Podcast for Sasha Answers. Hey.
Hi, how's it going? I know you're not good, actually. Why am I even asking?
I have strained my neck.
So I have, like, who's a character in the movie?
Maybe Batman, where, like, he can only move his entire body, not just his head.
Yeah.
No, it's all one piece.
You're like a transformer.
Nothing's moving on you right now.
But I just slathered peppermint on you, and you're drinking vodka, so you should be okay.
I have to say that I wish I could tell you that this resulted from like acrobatic sex
where, you know, Jacek and I were fucking Cirque du Soleil-ing each other all over our house.
Yes, as you do, right.
Or I wish I could tell you that it's because I was hardcore fucking training for some race.
No.
I was actually doing nothing except sitting at a table and talking.
And then a weird tweak, you know, either my muscle like needed to move and didn't move
in time and now…
Anyway.
Yeah.
That's age.
I know.
I feel your pain.
I said a few podcasts ago I was doing that Tiana Taylor workout and it was one shoulder
shrug like a… like who cares?
And I felt like I… well, I don't mean to be totally overdramatic, but I was paralyzed
for like a solid week.
I could not look to the left.
I couldn't look down.
And then you start to feel really sad because pain… pain is the worst.
Pain is the worst.
Yes.
But you're going to feel so good in like… like a month.
Thanks.
I really agree with what you're saying there about pain because I can get through most
things.
Like I can get through fatigue.
I can work through fatigue.
Like I have actually limitless amounts of energy.
But the pain is so distracting.
Yes.
Anyway, to distract everybody from the pain of if you have a neck strain, if you have
a Trump strain, whatever, I have a blind riddle.
Yes.
I love this.
So with my blinds and with everything, I double source, sometimes triple source.
So this is a tip that's just come in that I'm still working out, but it's so good
and we just happened to be podcasting tonight.
I wanted to share it with you.
Please.
Yes.
Because it's also really funny if it's true.
Okay.
And so have you…
So this tip that's come through, you've double-checked.
I have not.
Okay.
So this is the first source.
I want to get a corroborating source or two or three, but it's hilarious.
Okay.
So I definitely want to, you know, get going on the research.
Yes.
Okay.
So there's a certain celebrity, female, who's dealing with a breakup.
Okay.
Let me think.
Let me think.
Who's breaking up?
Who's dealing currently with a breakup or has just broken up.
Sasha, we do blind riddles.
Nobody gets to like ask follow-ups.
So just listen to the blind.
Okay, so she's dealing with a breakup and she's devastated.
I mean, she's really, really sad.
And, you know, he definitely broke her heart and he dumped her.
So she is seeking assistance apparently from the Long Island Medium.
And calling the Long Island Medium all the time.
Like the Long Island Medium who has like an A&E show?
I don't know what this person is.
Like I've heard the expression Long Island Medium.
Is it a TV show?
I might have made up that it was on A&E, but yes, it is a TV show.
Okay.
She's like from Jersey and she has like a good old-fashioned short blonde haircut.
Anyway, I don't know.
Is this being disrespectful and dismissive of people who need – like, you know, people
are hurt. And we just talked about pain and whatever you need to do to relieve the pain.
And every crisis I've ever been in my life, I've seeked out a fucking psychic after.
Oh, everything.
What?
Yes. Yes. Every time I go through some sort of like…
So you dial 99 cents a psychic?
No, no. I don't call a psychic. I don't. No. I go to people. I go to… And they're
never right. They're never right. I've never had a good reading.
Do you pay people for free or do you make an appointment?
Okay, so it is 99 cents at Psychic.
Okay, well, it's not 99 cents.
It's like, fuck out 150 bucks.
For what?
Like an hour?
For an hour.
Okay, so just walk me through this.
So you go, you knock on the door.
Hi, Psychic, I'm Sasha.
Yes.
And I'm really sad about my breakup or my life or whatever.
And then what happens?
That's why I see.
Then I'm trying to think of my most recent ones.
My most recent one was like a couple years ago.
So it was when I was not feeling great.
And I went to be like, someone needs to tell me that I'm going to be better because I
sure as shit don't know.
Okay.
No one's telling me, so I need to go to a psychic to tell me.
And the psychic was like conveniently like three blocks away.
And so I rolled up to his house, went up to like his third floor, and he gave me like
a reading and I cried.
It was great.
Everything he said.
Okay, what was…
Like, hang on, hang on.
You're skipping so many essential components.
As I do, yeah.
So how did he read you?
was it through tarot cards um we did half tarot cards so tarot cards came later but he just did
the like he like stares in your eyes and like fucking like looks off and like through his
window and then like gets information and then just spews it out to you have you never been to
a fucking psychic i mean i wouldn't say that i've been to a psychic um in in western psychic land
But I have been, my mother's taken me to like, when I was younger, my mother's taken me to
a fortune teller.
Oh, okay.
Like a Chinese fortune teller.
So, no, this fortune teller was like a different, well, obviously according to my mother, this
was the master.
Like you can't just go to any fucking nickel and dime fortune teller because it's dangerous
actually.
But this one was tried, tested and true.
Yes.
A master.
How old were you at this point?
Like eight.
Okay.
Young.
And so I don't even…
You don't even need an eight to be…
She wanted to know what my life was going to be like and what she had to look out for.
Okay.
Like, hey, you might want to avoid this when she's 15 or whatever.
But as an adult of my own will, I've never been.
Okay, wait.
You fucking rewind.
What did the fortune teller say at eight?
Was he correct?
I can't remember anymore.
I have to ask her.
Like, she was doing it more for her, like, how she should, you know, be on the lookout
for certain things.
Because, like, what am I going to do as an eight-year-old with it, right?
So I don't remember, like, what happened.
I do know that, like, and I wrote about this in my book, that I had a mole in…
Like, I had a mole here between my eyes and I had a mole by my mouth and both moles had
to be removed because of possible calamity.
Okay.
Like, I think the mole in between my eyes was drowning at 22.
Oh, Jesus Christ.
Yeah.
Guys, everything in Chinese culture is so scary.
Like, nothing's like, you know, like maybe just like avoid pools.
It's like you're going to fucking drown one day.
Right.
Oh, that gives me so much anxiety.
So anyway, what was the one that you got removed on your lip?
It was this.
I know, but what was it?
That was, I can't remember what the calamity for that one was, but it was a problem.
It was still not good.
Or maybe she just thought it was getting bigger and bigger and she was like, oh, I don't
want you to have a big ass mole on your face.
I don't know.
Like, but the, there was definitely a drowning one.
Okay.
Anyway, so, okay.
So, so for me, I feel like for the most part, the reason why people go to fortune tellers
is it's like, it's something mystical, obviously, but it's also a way just like,
it's also really narcissistic because you get someone who just like talks about you
for a solid hour and then you hope that something magical happens and then you leave. It's like,
it's like a really fun little therapy session, I find. So why not just go to a therapist?
I don't know. It's just like more fun if someone could tell you actually what's happening.
Okay. Well, did it come true? It did come true.
Well, what did he tell you would happen? Oh God, I don't remember. I wrote down stuff. He was,
he was like, oh, in six months you're going to be fine. And I, and it, oh no, like something like
in six weeks you're gonna be totally fine and that gave me so much solace in my heart six weeks came
and I was fucking still fucked but like in that moment and for the like the few weeks afterwards
you felt better yes because I was like this is this is set like yeah oh well I wasn't believing
everything he said but it was nice to have that idea that yeah oh my gosh there is a light at the
end of the tunnel right and and it's just kind of fun but yeah oh my god people I've every psychic
I've gone to has been not accurate even remotely.
Like, by now, like, three years ago, I was supposed to have three sons.
I don't have fucking any kids.
Okay.
So, like, you know what I mean?
But, like, it was fun.
It was really fun at the time.
Okay.
So, you can relate to how this celebrity is handling her romantic grief.
And especially the Long Island medium.
Fuck, that's so dope.
Like, that's the VIP of psychics, right, I guess?
Well, it's, like, the reality VIP.
Right.
Yeah.
Right.
So, great.
Right. Like reality star VIP. Well, I mean, and that's why I said, like, I don't want to be
dismissive or disrespectful, even though I found it really funny. Yeah, that's amazing. Because
clearly a friend of mine makes a habit of going to psychics. Yeah, but at least it's not like,
word is not bond when I go to these psychics. But I give this person props, the person that
I'm not allowed to guess, that she is seeking something to feel better for herself, right?
Like, I feel like in those situations, like, what you should seek is another dick.
Well, that's true too.
I'm sure…
What is that expression?
The best way to get over someone is to…
To eat a dick?
I don't know.
What is that?
To get under someone else or something like that?
Anyway, maybe I…
Like, listen, maybe she's tried that.
I don't know.
But, yeah.
I love that.
Can you start…
Can we start doing that, like, every once in a while?
Of course.
Like, little lines?
Yeah.
I mean, like I said, this is only a one-source tip.
Okay.
So I have to go look into it, which is why, you know, it's not on the site right now.
But I thought it would be fun to have a, like, discussion about it.
Yes, I love you doing that.
Thank you.
Should we answer some people's questions and be their Long Island mediums today?
Before we get into questions, I am dying to talk to you about this.
I'm not that great at spotting face cosmetic procedures on people unless it's outrageous.
Like, it…
Like, what?
Like, you can't tell, like, when you see – well, you don't fucking watch any reality
television.
No, I actually can't tell.
At all.
No.
Okay.
No, unless it's, like, unbelievable.
No, on the blog you talk about, like, Nicole Kidman's fucking not-movable face.
Okay, but that's – but that was outrageous.
Okay, you're right, you're right, you're right.
Like, I felt like it was outrageous because her – at one point she started having a
lip on top of –
Yeah, totally.
Like, one lip on top of her top lip.
Now, let me just make this clear that I have no objections to people doing whatever they
want to their bodies.
Yeah.
I just don't like when you lie about it.
Sure.
Like I… and she, Nicole Kidman, has given interviews where she said, oh, I've just
had Botox once.
Bullshit.
Okay, whatever.
Yeah.
Because you know what?
We're all gonna like have to consider it at some point.
Not gonna have to because, yes, internal beauty, external beauty and whatever.
But I'll tell you right now, like, you know, I'll think about it.
I really don't like the bags under my eyes right now.
I know me neither.
I'm really struggling with how to fix that.
Okay.
But yeah.
Okay.
So we're talking about it.
Yes.
And we're all like, it's kind of a conversation where you're like, on the one hand, you're
like, oh, I should accept myself as I am.
But I've never seen anyone have it just look normal.
Like, no one looks really fucking good with shit in their face.
Because I guess the ones that get it done well and in advance, they start early so you
can't tell.
Like Demi Moore, whoever does Demi Moore.
That's true.
Demi Moore is on point.
Yeah.
And also, I think the key for Demi Moore is that she never touched her lips.
Yeah.
Because if you're a person who doesn't have full lips and you go full lip, then it's
like, it's a beacon.
Okay.
I've never really thought about that before because you're right.
She doesn't, she did not get her lips done.
No, she didn't.
I'm sure she got other things done.
Right.
But whatever.
Like, anyway, I just don't want people walking around and being like, oh, I just, you know,
it's because I switched over to an egg white smoothie every morning.
Whatever.
Yeah.
But, like, I'll say right now, like, if I do it and I ever consider it…
You would tell people.
Oh, my God, I'll fucking document it.
Yeah.
You know, and right now, like, I'm looking at the bags under my eyes and I'm like, you
know, how many more years?
Right.
Okay.
That's fine.
Anyway, my point is that I saw…
So someone has…
Okay, yes.
…this Instagram of Keith Urban.
Yes.
And even though I'm the person…
I'm the person who can…
You know that he's gotten work done in his life, right?
Yes.
Yes. And sometimes it's hard for me to tell where I'll say, like, he looks different, but I don't know.
Okay, let's see this.
But let me just tell you first, because Duanna and I have had this conversation and she's like shown me a person's face.
And she's like, okay, you suck at this so much, I'm going to teach you what to look out for.
And she'll show me a face and I'll be like, oh, I don't know.
And she'll be like, nose, cheeks, chin.
And I'll be like, chin?
Yeah.
And she'll be like, nobody's chin sits like this naturally.
Anyway, so I feel like I'm really bad at this.
And then I saw this Instagram of Keith Urban and I'm like, oh my God, I can see.
It's his Mother's Day Instagram video.
Let me see.
Okay.
Oh, Keith Urban.
It's his Mother's Day Instagram video.
And I mean, can you just like look at this?
Okay.
Hold on.
Let's see.
Let's hear this.
Oh my…
Okay, these…
These are actual golf balls that have been implanted in his cheeks.
Okay, Keith Urban.
Sorry, I'm just going to pause that.
That is…
That's some fucking next level work.
Yes.
I like Keith Urban.
I don't want him to do stuff like that to him.
I like him too.
He's so…
He's very, very nice in person.
He's really nice.
I just feel like you, I just feel like you can't look at this, I mean, I'm reading the
comments, okay?
Or people trolling him.
You know, there are people who are noticing, like one person is saying, is that a knot
on your right cheek?
It's really hard and I hope to God that it's nothing medical or to make fun of, but it
is not good work.
If that's work, that's not good work.
And you have the fucking dough to get good work.
That's what blows me away.
Do you ever watch – you don't watch Keeping Up with Kardashians ever.
Do you ever see – do you know Kim Kardashian's, like, guy friend?
He's literally transformed his face into God knows what, and he kind of looks like
Keith Urban.
Like, it's so blatant.
Like, the cheek thing, right?
The cheek thing.
Like, all of a sudden you have, like, weird bald cheekbones.
So I'm just saying that, like, this is – I'm saying when I notice –
It's a problem.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because I never, like I said, it only, it only happens when it's really blatant where
I'm like, okay, this is, this is almost like you want, here's another comment.
Did he get his cheekbones done?
Look at his right one.
Yeah.
It's specifically the one side's a bit wonked.
So do you think Nicole Kidman like co-signs that?
She's like, honey, yeah, you look great.
Hey, maybe it's a his and her thing.
And they go together.
Like most couples go to movie dates.
They go to the doctor date.
like that they would do that. Which is great. I'm down for whatever you want to do. I just don't
like the lying about it. And I wonder whether or not at a certain point, because you're saying
the Kardashian show, and listen, what celebrity hasn't, right? Like teeth, nose, everything,
whatever. So I wonder if at one point it's going to get to the level of it's so pervasive
that we start commenting on that like we comment on red carpet clothing.
That's a great dress.
It looks so good on her.
That's a great nose.
I mean, this is…
It's getting there.
Yeah.
Like instead of best dress, we have best nose.
Oh my gosh.
Can I tell you what I'm doing?
Speaking of like work on your face, not that it's anything like fucking Keith Urban, but
I'm getting…
I ordered these cupping…
You know cupping, like cupping on your body like Dennis Paltrow does it.
But now all the rage is cupping your face.
So I bought these four silicone cuppers.
I'm going to fucking cut my face.
I'm going to do it this weekend, so I'll keep you posted.
Yeah, but they leave bruises.
No, they don't.
Because I've showed you my cupping bruise that I did on…
I showed it to you that I did on the social.
Maybe I should do it now.
No, I did not see this.
So we did a cupping segment on the social, and I had like a purple bruise on my shoulder
blade.
Did you feel better after that, just out of curiosity?
Did you feel any effects?
I didn't get a real treatment.
It was like, you know, a three-minute segment on the show.
Okay, fine.
Yeah. Well, no, this is not… this isn't, like, your body… it's not the body cups.
You don't use the fucking body cups on your face. They're, like, smaller and, like,
you move them. Like, typically with cupping, you leave it on your fucking, like, back or
your thigh and you just, like, let the blood pour out. That's not what this is. But,
like, I have to show it to you. Anyway, what is it supposed to do? Like…
You're literally… it's, like… sorry. Your lymphatic system, it moves, like, your
lymphatic system and brings blood to your fucking skin and you can, like… everything
kind of lifts, lifts up. I'm going to show you an Instagram video and you'll fucking be blown
away. So I saw this Instagram video. I fucking bought exactly what she bought and I'm going to
do it. Okay. Well, so next week you'll see me and I'll be fucking Keith Urban.
No, because then it's bad. But here's what I'm saying. It's like, will we get to a point where
we'll be like… I hope so. You should start it. Fucking next time you're on the Oscar red carpet.
Yeah. Like if we see a dress on the Oscar red carpet, we're going to be like, that's a Marquesa.
And then if we see a nose on the red carpet, we'll be like, that's a Dr. John.
Yeah, totally.
Or that's a Sasha's cupping.
There you go.
You know, that forehead, Sasha's cupping.
Much superior than Dr. Nick's whatever.
Make that happen.
You can start that.
I wonder if that's going to be the ultimate democratization and like normalization of
it where, I mean, that's another debate, the normalization of like cosmetic surgery.
But I mean, there are some people who are out there saying, hey, it's bad to tear down
women or, you know, we shouldn't be making fun of people with plastic surgery.
I do not… I'm not making fun. I'm just judging the work.
Yes.
Like, I would judge the workmanship of, you know…
Said…
Maybe that's… maybe that's the answer.
But that's what it is. Right now, everyone does it. Everyone knows about it. Especially,
like, I'm talking about in Hollywood. But no one talks about it. They talk about, like,
I guess, amongst their circles.
Yeah.
But they fucking never do an interview.
No. But they talk… as you said, they talk about it amongst themselves. Like, they'll
see whatever. One actress will see another actor or one actor will see another actor and they'll
be like, oh, your eyes look great. Who did them? Can I get a referral? Yeah. That's so funny. I
mean, that's one of my favorite stories and a blind riddle that I did a few years ago were two
very, very famous actors. Like I'm talking award winning high level actors and one contacted the
other saying, hey, your eyes look great. Who did them? And the other was like, I didn't get my
eyes done. And the other one was like, yeah, fuck you. Right. Did you reveal, oh, again,
these blinds you never reveal. No. I give enough clues. I just told you super respected,
super successful, super award winning, obviously of a certain vintage.
Nicole Kidman? No, actor. Like males. Oh, males. Yeah. Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise. John
Travolta. No. John Travolta. For sure John Travolta. No. But anyway, so yeah. We will post
that Keith Urban Mother's Day video.
Yes.
But I wonder if it gets
to that point one day.
All right, let's get to some questions.
Okay.

Hi, Sasha and Lainey. I have an etiquette question for you.
Recently, an online survey was sent out to about 30 of us by my friend Mike's boyfriend.
Let's call him Vincent, about organizing Mike's 30th birthday party, which will be
dinner and drinks at their home.
First of all, Mike's birthday is in August.
The survey asked about our availability over a few weekends.
A survey?
Yeah, this is bizarre.
But then asked us about the time of day we'd be free.
The listed options went by the hour, not a general morning, afternoon, or evening.
And dietary restrictions were asked for as well.
So far, it just seems a little bit obsessive.
But then he asked about how much money we'd be willing to give towards the party.
Minimum amount you could select was $15.
And if you wanted to select other, you had to specify how much and what you'd be willing
to bring out of a list with nothing not being an option.
And finally, to rate how much you see yourself eating that night.
This is like a full-on survey with like a drop list.
Five means you are a glutton.
Four means what?
Two pizzas to yourself?
Okay.
Anyway, this is crazy.
Okay.
Okay. Needless to say, I find the whole thing ridiculous, as do the mutual friends I've spoken
to who were also on the list. Even though I found it really off-putting, I still selected that I'd
contribute money and a dish because it wasn't anonymous and I didn't want to look like a
cheapskate. I know Mike from residency and we are both practicing physicians and Vincent is an
accountant. They've paid off their student loans and own their own home. Most of the people on the
list are either professionals or make less money than they do. The couple definitely isn't hurting
for cash. So what should I do? To be honest, right now I'm either just complaining about it
or just laughing about it and hoping someone else gets the idea to say something. Any input
would be appreciated. What's the number of the birthday? 30. So it's 30. It's happening in August.
There is a survey that's gone out to find out when they're going to be available. It's quite
an extensive survey. And that's so funny. The availability isn't by morning, afternoon or…
It's by the hour. It's by the hour. And you have to pay. You have to also bring a dish.
and you also have to say how much you're going to eat.
Okay.
So there you go.
That's question one.
So what should…
Okay.
So, well, first have you…
I mean, you're pretty…
Like, when it comes to birthdays, you're pretty…
You like to make an event out of your birthday.
Yes, I do like to make an event.
So do you feel like…
Like, what did you do for your 30th?
I'm just curious.
Was it a big fucking deal?
I can't remember.
I can't remember either what I did for my 30th.
The reason why I can never remember the answer to this question is because my 30th birthday
I always associate with our dog, Marcus.
Marcus was my 30th birthday present.
Oh, I didn't know that.
And so whenever I hear 30, I think Marcus.
Marcus was like the love of our lives, my first dog.
I think Jacek put on a party, a dinner in Vancouver at the Water Street Cafe.
But again, the reason why that slips my mind is because everything is like around Marcus.
Yes.
Okay.
Fair enough.
But like 30 is a bit… was a big deal.
It was a big deal.
The thing is with the way that Jacek and I do our birthdays or when, you know, I plan
something and you're right, I am like a person who forces my friends to do things
for my birthday and it's like I have advance notice, you don't have a choice, but I also
pay.
Yes.
You don't ask people to bring…
Well, bringing the food isn't the problem.
It's the particulars and specifications of these people's demands.
That's right.
So they're like…
So this is where it gets a little weird is when, I don't know, you're doing this party
and then you're asking people for input, but it doesn't feel like they're getting
any input.
Like a survey…
That's what's so weird about this survey, right?
A survey usually is inviting people to comment so that an event or a program can be…
Built around it.
Built around it.
But this is one of the weirdest surveys.
In fact, it might be an excellent survey in that it's done without actually making people
feel like they're participants.
Right.
P.S.
For my birthday this year, I want to go to Mongolian Grill, which I wanted to do last
year.
There's no Mongolian Grill here?
There's only Mongolian Grill?
No, there is a huge Mongolian grill.
Oh.
And it's…
For people who don't know what Mongolian grill is…
Okay, so it's like buffet, but it's also like teriyaki.
Yeah.
It's really white.
Excuse me, but…
But because the Mongolian grill that I will take you to is super Cantonese style.
Are you sure about that?
All Cantonese people work there.
Okay.
Like, all Chinese people work there.
Okay, okay, okay.
Lots of Chinese clientele.
I only…
Okay.
I only can base my Mongolian grill from Vancouver.
Yes.
Which is 100% white people eating in there.
No.
Okay.
There are some white people.
Okay.
But it's pretty Asian.
Look, ask Yasik.
He's been there a few times.
Okay, I'll ask the white person here.
It's pretty mixed.
Okay, but that's great.
Mongolian grill it is.
I'm down for some fucking teriyaki.
And it's huge.
Yes.
Anyway, so back to this survey.
Do you agree with me that it seems like…
I think this is bonkers.
This is so bonkers.
But to me, I find this so humorous.
So the way that I would deal with it is I would talk amongst my friends and laugh at
them and just proceed.
Because this shouldn't be surprising.
I just kind of feel like if they're busting out a survey for this party, I feel like this
behavior probably has happened in small ways before.
They're just a bit extra.
You're hanging out with some extra people.
You have extra friends.
I really like your idea though.
So, so maybe what people should do is fuck around on the survey.
Like you'll eat the maximum amount of food.
You'll be there for the whole entire day.
Well, yeah.
Like, I mean, or, or some people will agree to choose 7am and then other people would
be like, no, 10am and then somebody else will be 3am.
Oh my God.
that's actually really horrible advice though. That's so mean. I would just talk about them
behind their backs and laugh. That's, I feel like the go-to. I agree. Because you know what?
I think that you should get some… What is the writer's name? It's just M. Okay, M. I think M,
like you should, as Sasha says, you should get some enjoyment out of this. You should be able
to laugh at it because it's… Over the top. Over the top. So why not? Yeah. Why not fuck around
with it. Yeah. And have fun. I mean, you're only bringing… you're bringing a fucking meal. You're
donating 15 bucks. Go there and like just have some fun. Yeah. Donate 15 bucks and like treat
it as what it really is, is bonkers. But is… I mean, I don't know. Is this dicky? Like in their
minds, in Michael or Vincent's or whoever's mind, were they being considerate? Are they being
considerate? No. They're being totally, as I just said, extra. But you can also call people on their
extraness, can't you? I don't think she needs to reprimand them. I don't think she needs to
get serious about this, but I think you can kind of poke some fun at them. Yeah. Because who the
fuck has ever gotten a survey? Yeah. Treat the survey like the joke that it is. Yeah. But only
joke about it once. Don't make it an ongoing joke, right? Because then they'll get really pissed.
Like, no. I mean, you can submit the survey 18 different times.
Right? Yeah. I don't know, but does something like that ruin friendships?
Well, that's what I'm saying. Don't be a total dick about it, but I think that they deserve a little bit of, like, a poking at, because it's ridiculous.
We agree, right?
Okay. Moving on. Hi, Sasha and Lainey. First off, love the podcast. Second, never thought I'd be someone who writes into strangers for advice, but I'd like to get your perspectives.
So I'm in my early 30s and just started dating this guy who also is in his early 30s. He's great, really sweet, very attentive and communicative and amazing in bed.
Only thing I'm not sure about is he smokes a whole bunch of weed.
He vapes in the morning before work and every night.
On weekends, I think it's an all-day thing.
He spent a day with me a couple weeks ago at my house, and it felt like he was vaping
whenever we weren't doing anything.
He's super ambitious, gets up and works out every morning before work, so it's not
like he's some lazy stoner.
I personally don't smoke much, and I don't have anything against weed, but what do you
guys think about this?
The relationship is very new, so I'm just rolling with things for now.
Like, I'm not necessarily trying to marry him or anything right now, but would love
to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for your help.
A.
Okay, so he smokes a ton of weed all day, every day.
Is really good in bed.
Really good in bed.
Also very accomplished in his daytime waking hours.
And works out.
Yes.
So presumably he looks good.
Yeah.
Looks good.
Is fit.
Is good.
What did you say?
Is fit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
He's not like on the couch eating potatoes.
I just want to make sure like his resume is like, you know, where the deficiencies are.
So the only possible deficiency at the moment, this is new.
Is that he's a drug addict.
Is that he smokes a lot of weed.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well, I mean, I don't…
So you explain to me…
I know that Jacek has…
In the past.
In the past liked his endo.
Yeah.
So I don't understand what vaping is.
Like, it's just smoking weed, but in a nicer way, right?
Yeah.
In a vaporizer.
Okay.
Does it make you…
Like, is it…
Does…
The effects are the same is what I'm asking.
I mean, I like it better because the vaporizer takes away the harsh smell.
You know how you cannot escape?
Yes.
Like, when you vape weed, at least in our experience with the vape we had, it was like
you couldn't smell it at all.
I thought it was a smoother ride too.
Okay.
Like, smoother on your throat.
But weed…
You're smoking weed, so it's like it depends what you're getting.
Like, I mean, I haven't smoked weed since we smoked weed, like, in the very few days
of our podcast.
Yeah.
And I, like, I kind of forget what it's like when you're high, but I definitely wasn't
going to the gym.
I couldn't do much of anything.
So I'm actually kind of like…
I'm curious about this guy because also, like, being a great fuck and we…
And being able to get your dick up too, right?
Is not my experience.
No.
So, I mean, I don't know.
Can I talk about your dick on weed?
Yeah.
Let's talk about Jacek's dick on weed.
He said, sure.
I felt like Jacek could get it up, but it wasn't like as…
That's amazing.
His max rigidity is only…
To me, max rigidity is achieved like not on weed.
Right.
So it was like a little bit mushy.
Not…
No, I wouldn't say mushy.
I wouldn't say mushy.
But I would say, like, you can feel it.
Like, you know, when it's a real long, powerful stroke…
Right.
…you can feel that it goes deeper when it's max rigidity versus weed rigidity.
Yeah, sure.
So, let's say weed rigidity is, like, you're operating at, like, I don't know, 75 to 80%.
Right.
So, the fact that this guy is still really good in bed on a weed rigidity…
Excellent.
Like, I…
Excellent.
I think so, too.
Yeah.
Like, I don't know.
I'm trying to find the problem.
I've never met somebody, though, who's like a full-on stoner that doesn't look stoned.
Yeah.
So I wonder if he's smoking as much weed or if it's as potent as we're thinking.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Like, maybe it's like a really, like, low…
Well, that's interesting because I found that when I vaped it, it was less potent than the
other ways.
Okay.
That's what I was asking you.
So it is less potent.
Did you find Yassic?
Okay. So what we're saying here is maybe us not being experts, but that vaping is like a little
less chill. Sorry, a little more chill than smoking a fucking joint or like hot box in your
house. So, I mean, I do, I agree that it's like a bit weird to like wake up in the morning,
throw off the covers and like vape the weed. I agree, but I… Keep your eye open on this.
what's this chick's name? Yeah. I mean, again, yeah, I would keep an eye on it, but I don't
know that like there are any deal breakers so far. If he's in his mid-30s… So I have issues
definitely with the teenage brain on weed because we've heard studies of a not fully developed brain
and its effects. But, I mean, I've also heard of the medicinal and the mental health and pain
relief properties of weed for adults and that generally it's not as toxic as alcohol or
cigarettes or whatever. I mean, listen, everybody here, you know, you don't need to yell or freak
out at us, we're not saying, like, yes, everybody should be smoking weed.
It's just that, like, I think there's…
It sometimes works for people, right?
There's research out there, even from the medical community, that it actually can be
good for some people.
Of course it is.
And if he's, you know, keeping his job and being…
Alert.
Alert.
When he's with her.
These are all very…
Fuckable.
Yeah.
And also fit.
But I get why she's having the struggle, right?
Yeah.
Because it isn't…
She doesn't smoke.
She doesn't smoke and it's, like, something probably that she wasn't expecting to see
someone fucking, like, taking hits from the fucking bong all the time, but also being
quite, like, apt to their daily activities.
So, I mean, it's kind of an anomaly what you're dealing with, but, like, I would roll
with this anomaly if everything else is going well.
Yeah.
I…
My only thing…
And here's my PSA.
One of the reasons why I'm not that into it anymore and that Jacek and I have talked
about is, especially in British Columbia, where we used to live, and that's the westernmost
part of Canada, for those of you who don't live in Canada, they are seeing a really,
really, really terrible crisis in fentanyl overdose.
And some of the fentanyl they're finding is in street marijuana.
So you…
So in the past, whatever, you hook up with a dealer, you get whatever, your weed and
you'd smoke your weed, great, lovely, and you would have a good time and then you go
back to your dealer.
But right now…
So you're saying they're cutting it with…
That's right.
And we are related to somebody who works in healthcare.
So she's seeing in the ER, they're overloaded, night after night after night after night,
Day after day after day after day, people are coming in overdosing on fentanyl.
Now, some of it is like the Prince kind, like Prince also died from whatever.
But some of it is that weed is being laced with fentanyl.
So we were just like…
Oh, so that turned you off of it, hearing that?
I don't want to like take that chance anymore.
Now, I do think that like I would feel better about it if I went to get it at a dispensary.
Yeah.
Right?
Like where it's regulated and you at least have some confidence in where they're growing
it and if it's been cut with some bullshit or not.
But at the same time, you know, to get from a dispensary, you have to go and get the card
and whatever.
And I don't know if I need it that much.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, actually there's like, it's so, well, in Vancouver, you just walk in and like fucking
get it.
At the dispensary.
Yeah.
Like it ain't no thing.
You don't need a card or anything.
But yeah.
Okay.
Anyway.
Well, in, I feel like, I mean, in Colorado and so many states in the United States or
more and more states in the United States, you can just, it's legal now, so you can
go to the dispensary, which essentially is, you know, there is a regulation around it
or in theory you think there is some regulation around it and you have more confidence in
buying from there.
But the old school way, like when we grew up and you met your dealer or you call up
your dealer or like, you know, in the, like for the last few years.
Those days are gone is what you're saying to me.
Well, I like the progression.
Like, you would…
In the back of the day, you'd meet your dealer at wherever, out on the street by the
corner store.
And then it progressed to, like, dealers were making house calls, driving up, and then…
It got a little bit more chic in your 20s.
Exactly.
Like, for us, near…
Like, the last time we bought, it was texting.
You'd text your dealer and then you'd arrange, like, either go to the dealer's
place or they'd come over.
And, you know, now for a lot of people it's dispensaries.
So I kind of like the evolution, too.
Yeah, and the dispensaries are beautiful now.
Yeah.
Yeah, they're gorgeous.
And like the products.
Oh my God, I want…
Anyway, I saw this.
Everybody talks about edibles and, you know, and all that.
Anyway, so that's my PSA.
Thank you for that.
Like, be careful what you're smoking.
Okay.
But for our reader…
Sorry, but for our writer A.
Oh, yeah.
Don't…
Back to that.
Who cares?
Who cares?
Because this guy's smoking good shit.
As you said earlier, maybe keep a pin in it.
Like, watch out for it.
But I feel like early on in this stage, other warning signs that would concern me are…
like he's not into sex
and he's like too lazy to like
meet you on a date. If that stuff starts happening
then… He carries a briefcase of cash around
and doesn't have like…
Doesn't have proper documentation
like credit cards
you know and all that.
Things like that.
He keeps the blinds down all the time
and you know
18 locks on the door.
Is he driving to work?
Oh. Is he driving to work?
That's actually a really good point.
There we go.
Here we've come to the turning point.
Right.
You and I are fucking idiots.
Yes.
It had to point out to us.
Yes.
Does he drive after he smokes weed?
Yeah.
That's a big no-no.
Yeah.
So if you have any gripe to talk about, then you can talk to them about that because for
real, you could be saving a fucking life.
But if everything else is above board and he's like responsible in those sort of things,
like he's not getting behind the wheel, he's going to his fucking job, he's fucking
like fucking you
really good
yeah
all good
he's paying his bills
on time
he doesn't have
a secret family
you know
like
I'm just naming off
other warning signs
I know you are
okay well that's it
