Welcome back to another episode of When Reality Hits. I'm so excited. Please welcome Christy Cook, the woman behind the massively popular YouTube channel, Spilsesh. Spilesh. I know how I was going to do that. You said it on the car right here. Spilsesh. I said that.

I was like, I'm going to keep saying that. I'm going to be like Spiltschersh. I just know it. That's just the type of person I am. She spills the Internet's biggest tea for a living. And today she's spilling it with me. And my co-host of the day, Mr. Zach Wickham. Christy is officially in the house.

Hello, Christy. Hi, guys. I'm so excited to be here. We're so excited to have you. Yes. A two for one today. I know. And our favorite is getting to spill the gossip.

So if you have it all, we're ready to hear it. I got the tea. I really was like the weekend of tea. Like Super Bowl, everything was in the headlines. Yeah, there is so much to talk about and go. over and I was like, Zach is the perfect person to have on with you especially because he is like, he's like into that gossip a little bit more than I am. Yeah, like pop culture knowledge is my thing. Like we have the same for you page. Exactly. Yeah. Like my for you page right now is like hot men

working out because I'm single and like sharks and like weird food and stuff. But I still love this stuff. Don't get me wrong. I'm still into it very much. Okay. So for anyone or for someone who doesn't know you yet, can you tell us how and why you started? Spill Sesh. I'm sorry. I'm going to keep doing that. Spill Sesh. Was there a specific moment?

You were like, okay, I need to talk about this online. Well, I started Spill Session in 2018. I was posting a bunch of videos just over the years on YouTube. And then I saw this like YouTube bubble, like this bubble on YouTube where people were only talking about influencers and like their drama. And at the time, I felt like no one was really covering influencer news. They weren't taken seriously as like a celebrity or anything yet. So mainstream news outlets weren't covering them.

I worked at TMZ at the time. Oh, nice. And so I knew like mainstream wasn't covering these people. So I was like, okay, like maybe I'll talk about it online. And then I started posting videos. And then over time, it kind of blew up. And then I feel like after COVID, everyone was talking about influencers. Yeah.

And now everyone's talking about it. And I'm like, okay, well, still going to do it? Yeah. What was that moment where you realized like people are actually, actually really into this? I was at the airport, like, on the way to Vegas one day, and I had, like, downloaded a video from, like, Trisha Paitis. She posted something, and then she deleted it, but I had, like, grabbed it right before she deleted it. I posted a video, like, oh, my gosh, you guys will not believe, like, what she just posted. And, like, by the time I landed from the,

from the airplane, I was like, oh, my gosh, like, something is happening here. That is, like, not like the rest. And, yeah, that was, like, the big moment of, like, I need to keep doing this. Also, catching something that Trisha Paitis finds appalling enough to take down immediately. Right. Like, you struck gold right there. Gosh, that's one of my biggest fear, though, like posting something that you didn't mean to or, like, accidentally. And then, like, you think, okay, I got that down. But then, nope, somebody out there has already screenshoted it.

What was that? What was that? What was that? Um, senator's name and he thought he was sending his dick to his mistress. Remember that? What? It was like Scott Wiener. And his name was like Scott Wiener.

I can't remember the exact. But it's like that, I'll never make that mistake. Wait, he thought he was sending it to his mistress, but put it on a social media story. He thought he was deeming it. And he was deeming it and he tweeted it. Oh, no. And I'm just like, this is, oh. This is like, it hurts my soul.

I'm like. I post something. I'm looking at it like 20 times. 20 times before I press posts, before I press anything. Or like Chris Evans, who he had screenshot something and his dick was in the corner because it was in his camera roll, but not on what he was actually trying to. send. That, I feel like now that type of mistake I could make. I'm so paranoid. But I'm not about to tweet my own dick. I know if I'm DM in it,

it's DMing it. I don't really do that anyway. Like I'm not really a sexy. Well, I'm not, I do send sexy photos, but they're not like naked. Yeah, no. Not naked. Yeah. But you also like, you're just like, here's a little come over. Like, you know what I mean? Yeah. Like a little lingerie, a little booty in a thong, something like that. I'm like, I take it immediately into my, like, only my eyes folder. You know what? I wish that folder had existed when I was, like, sending nudes regularly. But I stopped sending nudes in 2013 when, like, Grindr, you could log into your new account from, like, a new phone.

Okay. So it, like, passed over. And I was like, oh, no, no. I don't need people being able to save my photos or they, like, you know, go to their new account. So I was like, you know what? I'm going to stop sending nudes. So, actually, I don't send nudes anymore. Good for you.

Well, you know what? I didn't know that, just because we're talking about all this, on DMs, on Instagram, if you put it on that, like, private setting, like, they can't take a screenshot or a screen video or any, recording, nothing of your picture. Yeah. Yeah. So, like, if they try to do a screen video or if they try to take a screenshot, it doesn't show anything. Interesting.

I thought it was just like it notified them that you took a screen shot. No, you can't, like, I tried it with, like, a friend. I was like, send me this and, like, try to take a screenshot. and it just shows like, it doesn't show the photo or anything. And I was like, wow, people can be really sneaky on Instagram. They'll have their camera or something else. A friend.

Because you know, the second phone. People always find out or like find a way to get around the safeguards we have. It's like, come on, guys, let's just have fun. They're like looking on their iPad and taking a picture with their cell phone. Right. It's like, oh, God, guys. What are we doing?

Oh, gosh. That's awful, too. So be careful, guys, out there. Okay. So this is interesting. You started anonymously. Yes. So, like, kind of like a...

Girl. Yeah. X OXO.XO. Seriously. And, like, how do you say? Duma? Duma. Oh, I said it correctly.

They're still... I think so. Yeah. I think there's, like, some inklings about who it might be. But... But they've been anonymous for so long. And you are anonymous for five years, which is a long time. Yes.

Why, like, what made you... Yeah, do the big reveal. I mean, the big reveal, I really just wanted to expand what I was doing. do interviews, go to more events and network and meet new people, do things other than just like the YouTube videos that I was doing that were like faceless. So I felt like that was really why I like suddenly got the itch of like, okay, let's just do the reveal. Yeah.

Was there a reason you thought at first you were like, I need to keep anonymous? And then did you really, was there a point where you realize, oh, wait, actually I can not be anonymous and it'll be okay. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, at first you're really. just started because the videos that I saw other people doing reporting on influencer news were just text on the screen. And then after a while I was like, I cannot spell to save my life. I need to just do

the voiceover. And so I was just doing the voiceover. Didn't feel like I needed to be in the video because a lot of people weren't also in their videos. But then over time, I was like, I feel like I want to do more than just these videos. I want to make TikToks. I want to do Instagram reels. And, you know, short form was really blowing up and so yeah just coming out and revealing was just bringing me more opportunities. Yeah, a lot more opportunities and I've like looked at your Instagram page and stuff. You're getting to go to like carpets and like fun events that if you don't say, yeah, that you wouldn't be at because no one would know who it was. Yeah.

So that makes a lot of sense actually. Are you glad? Yeah, for sure. Yeah, do you think it was the right decision? I think so. A lot of people at first when I said, okay, like I'm going to probably do the reveal. everyone was like, wait, no, like, that's so scary. Why would you do that?

Or I think they thought, like, if I made videos on people, like, they would hate me. But I feel like it's one of those things where I think, like, in Hollywood, people kind of know what the deal is. It's like, they're not hating on you if you're talking about them, especially if, like, it's really not, like, being hateful. Yeah. If, like, this person posted this Instagram photo and I'm, like, making a video talking about what they posted. it doesn't have to be like crazy. Sometimes it's just like, I love their relationship or like this couple broke up. I'm so sad.

Like that's not salacious. Is your stuff more like, oh, this is just like the facts that happened or is it more of like, okay, because I feel like some people, they'll do like their opinions and then that gets them into hot water. Yeah. You know what I mean? I feel like I try to keep it neutral. I try to keep it like this is what this person said. This is what this person said.

What are you all things? Yeah, pretty much. Sometimes I'll give my opinions, though. Like, if someone's, like, committed a crime, I'm like, bit. Oh, yeah. That's stepped up. We don't like that. That's horrible.

Or, like, this is scary and stuff like that. But for the most part, I try to make it so that if you didn't know anything about a certain situation before, you, like, leave with all the facts. Right. I like that. I think from being on the other side of it. Right. The only reason people, like Zach was saying, get upset is if it's something hateful, something rude, whatever. But at the same time, we'd signed up.

for this life. So we have to know that people are going to talk about it. Like, we might get upset about someone's opinion of us or whatever. But by next week, they can have a completely different opinion. That's just how reality TV especially works. Yeah. So we're kind of used to it. Yeah.

And I also feel like sometimes the takes, I'm like, I did say that. I did. So I'm like, okay, well, yes. If you don't like it. Yeah. Like, if you're going to say it, own it. Yeah. You kind of own it a little bit.

So obviously, Zach and I aren't allowed to talk too much about the Valley. But the Valley teaser did come out, and I wanted to know if you saw it and what your thoughts were. I did see it. It was very short, you guys. Very short. We're talking about the 15-second one? Yeah, I was like, not much tea. There's a 30-second one.

I haven't seen it yet. We haven't seen it because it's playing during the Winter Olympics. Yeah. And they won't give it to us. Yeah, so we have no idea. We haven't already played because I've been watching the Winter Olympics. I haven't seen it. We have all been trying to watch on, like, shifts, like literally trying to, like, block out.

because we know it's going to play. Like, we thought I was going to play on one day. It did not play. Yeah. Then we're like, okay, well, they said during like the Winter Olympics, okay, well, that's like three. We don't have time for this. Yeah. I'm like, can we just have it and see it?

Can we just know what happened? Some of the events come on at like 5 a.m. too. Yeah. I thought it was supposed to be like first day at like 11. That's what we thought. Yeah. So Jasmine, one of our castes, she sat there and watched the entire opening ceremony and she goes, well, we're on Venezuela.

I still haven't seen anything And I was like Well then it must be coming like at the end Or maybe and then it like ended And then we got an email saying Oh hey It'll be like Sometime during the day

And I was like Oh thanks Jasmine But She's like I just watched three hours And a half For nothing Yeah So there is a longer one out

And then of course That's just the teaser So the trailers And all that That'll come out later We don't know when Everyone keeps asking When win win

When Yeah. We don't know. Everyone else will find out. We know when you know. Yeah. The same time that we do. That's kind of crazy though.

That's how it works. We know 24 hours maybe before you will. Wow. Like we'll know it'll drop the next day. We don't even get the episode until like the night before. So we have no idea. Yeah. That's wild.

People, like other people had ruined it. So by the time we came about, it's like they had strict rules in place for like leaks and all that stuff. Which it's understandable. Yeah. Because you don't want your writings to go down because somebody's already out there passing it around or like posting it on their page or you know, trying to get it, whatever. Trying to get ahead of something.

Yeah. That's what it is. You know, like, it's like, we can't change anything anyway. So like, there's no reason to have it. I get it. Yeah. I get it too. Okay.

Oh, wait. The trailer though. It was short though. Oh, yeah. It was short. I was like, wait. Oh, we were like, wait. I was like, all the T I know is based off of everyone's individual Instagram account.

Yeah. And that teaser, I was like, okay, I don't know what we're actually diving into. That's the thing. But I'm here. I think it was just being like, hey, we're going to show. We're coming back. We're coming back. I think it was like, here, let's just put a couple screenshots of our faces.

Yeah. Just to like remind people that your darling will be back soon. Yeah. It really felt like, even though it was 15 seconds, it felt like three seconds. Especially for the people on it because not to be, I mean, to be completely real, we look for ourselves. We're like, where am I? am I in this part? Am I in that part? Like that's, I'm sure you were like, where am I?

I was like, they're going to put a Michelle talking head and not me? How dare they? You know what I mean? But I mean, that's our, like, all of ours are like, looks and to see like what part you're in. Yeah. Like, what's going on? Okay, who's that walking? Is that me walking?

Like, it's so fast. You couldn't even really tell. Yeah. Like, it was like, oh, is that person in it? And then, oh, it was like, Danny, like, jumped into the pool. But, like, you can't even see his face. I don't even see it. It's like, it's him.

Yeah. That's just how we all are, though. We all are, like, looking like, wait, where are we? What's going on? But it's cute because, you know, it's us. And, you know, it's just, it's a little. It's a tease. Like, it's an moose.

It's like barely a bite, barely, definitely. I don't even know if it was a bite. Like, it was just a little something. I like an amuse boosh. Yeah. It was a holdover. Yeah. It's just a holdover for the actual trailer, which will come out sometime at some point.

Yeah. And then it'll be like... Just keep watching the Olympics. Yeah, just all of them, though. And then it'll be like, whoa. We don't get to see it before, but we already... We know what we filmed this season, and it is just like... It's so good and just...

It's going to be great. So, be on the lookout, everyone. Okay, moving on. Let's get some of these pop culture topics going on, okay? All right. Obviously, we have the Super Bowl and all that that we're going to get into. But let's get into some of these... relationships really fast.

So Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey, they have been a huge in the media. I feel like it's backed down a lot. I feel like they, I think they went on their, like their tour. You know, they're like the king and queen. And so they're like, okay, we got to go to this event, blah, blah, blah. And I think they got to the point where they're like, okay, now we're tired. We've given you what you needed. Now we're going to take a step back and like do for us what we need to do.

Which is probably good for them because that was every single. single day was out in the public, you know? And I feel like when people see too much of you, then they start to hate you. Like all of a sudden, it'll be super positive. Like, we love you guys. And then it's like, wait, you're actually annoying. And then it turns negative, like for no reason sometimes. So I feel like they have been in like the headlines so much they know.

They're like, okay, like, let's take a beat. Yeah. They're like, it's going to get bad. Yeah. Because there's only so many times you can also show Taylor Swift's face. on a game, even if like the ratings are growing up and also, there's only so many times if you show her face that it's going to be like not booing or not whatever or like, oh, now she's a bad luck charm.

And it's like we don't need to get into that territory. So I'm glad they pulled back just for their sake. You know what I mean? Yeah, sure. Agree. and being like the whole thing is such a mess. It's a mess. They made this the messiest thing in I think all of Hollywood. Because one day you're like so Blake's side and then the next day you hear something else

from just and you're like, wait, who did what now? Did you? Did you read all the stuff? Yes. Okay. Okay. I did not.

So you guys. You guys. It's just. This is why she brought me all right because she was like, she knows how much I'm like ingrained in pop culture. So give us like the synopsis of like where it's at now. Okay. I mean, in the beginning, when Blake came out, the New York Times article had come out.

I was like, team like, this is so gross. Exactly. Yes. And then when Justin came out and he sued her and the New York Times, he had said some things. And the video evidence that he brought started a contradictory. what she said at first. So then I'm like, well, wait a minute, girl,

because that is not looking like what you wrote. And it was everything that she wrote. He would then have verbatim why that was incorrect. And he went through and did every single thing. Oh, wow. Thurrow. Wow. Yeah.

So then everyone was like, Team Justin. And now I just feel like, you know, they're arguing about two different things. She's saying that she was sexually harassed in the workplace. And he's saying, you try to steal my movie. I feel like both can be true at the same time. We weren't obviously there to see what happened on set, but those are two different arguments. Yeah.

It definitely seems like she tried to steal his freaking movie. So she looks so bad in that. Wait, what do you mean trying to steal the movie? Because I was thinking more about... Literally from, like direct it, edit it, like doing things that you should not be able to do as an actress because it was his movie. He's directed.

She got to edit the final edit. And even though her edit scored, like they do this whole scoring system before a movie's release, her edit of the movie scored far less than his edit. They still went with hers. Yeah. She had gone in the latest round of evidence being revealed,

it was said that her and Ryan Reynolds wrote letters to Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and were like, can you watch my cut of the film and then like give feedback. Like they went to like hire people I'm sure to go to Sony and then be like well Ben Affleck and Matt Damon

they love my version of the movie. I don't know if those you know kind of people are saying that about Justin's cut. Which by the way you shouldn't you shouldn't even be able to get to this point or do what she was doing. Yeah. That's what was so crazy is you shouldn't be able

to take it away from the director. Right. And she's actually and what was so crazy is they had just. showed evidence. She's done this on other films. Oh, wow. Yeah. Where she's like, literally, so it's like not, it's like kind of a pattern. Yeah, so like a lot of people are saying she's like mean and stuff now too. But this is like, she didn't have a great reputation, but this is like next level. And the first time someone's like kind

of like fighting her back on it. Right. Yeah. Because he wasn't going to stand for it. And then there was the whole PR thing. I know. I know. I'm like, you too could just go at it. Because I'm like, I'm just listening and learning. It's just so messy. And I feel like it's drug on to the point where I'm like, where are we at today? You know what I mean? Like, when will this end? Yeah. I mean, I haven't heard a lot.

It does not end. I know. They were supposed to go to trial in March, but I think it got pushed again. And so, I don't know. It's just this never ending battle where I'm like, I don't think anyone's going to win at the end of the day. Like, they have both spent so much money. It can't even imagine the legal fees at this point. So it's just like everyone's taking the out.

Yeah. And also is. Is Taylor now back to being friends with Blake? I'm not even sure. Did you hear the thing about like, so in her song, what was the song? Canceled. Yeah. That was actually supposed to be about Justin.

But in all of our, like, what we had seen before, it was like, Taylor was like, oh, how dare Blake used me as a pawn. So like, why would she then say she's going to take down Justin or like, you know, the song was about him? So it's like, wait, whose side is Taylor on or is Taylor just like, I'm not getting in this? but like I'll come be your best friend at the end of it. I'm so confused. So like their text messages were leaked of Blake and Taylor's text messages talking about Justin.

And Taylor was- Who is leaking their message? Their text messages. I believe she was subpoenaed. So she had to give her phone records. Okay. But it's crazy that that could be public record. Like that's so crazy.

So her text messages were automatically public record just because it was. Yes. Isn't it insane? There has to be some sort of privacy. there. It's not a sealed case. That's the problem. So any information coming in, it's... Oh my God. Are my text message going to be leaked in my divorce? I'm terrified. It's crazy that it's like... They're subpoenaed because they're, like, the reason her text message are subpoenaed are because it is, it directly affects the case. So they need it. It's like part of evidence.

But it's crazy that it would be able to be seen by... Yes. But why were text messages between Taylor, who has nothing? She was involved. She was. How was she involved? He was trying to prove he was so confused. Justin was trying to prove that Blake did steal his movie in some capacity. And so in the text messages, he was trying to use these conversations that she was having with other people to be like, see, she was trying to do this.

She was trying to steal my movie. And in the conversation that she was having with Taylor, she was like, hey, can you come, when you come over, can you just like, even if you didn't read my script, can you just like pretend that you liked what I wrote so that he will want to use my version because you as Taylor Swift. So Blake invited Taylor over

and Justin didn't know that Taylor was just going to show up at this meeting. So she Blake brought Taylor into this. Yeah. So then she became a part. And she like stopped talking to her. They all like it's a mass unfollowing. It was like Travis. Yeah. When Travis unfollowed

Ryan Reynolds, I was like there's definitely some beef. 100% because the only other person that I can think... I love that in our world. We know that there's beef when someone unfollow someone on social media. That is like how it works these days. It's been that way for a while, I feel like.

But like, because of social media. You know? So Travis unfollowed him and they were like, okay, do Blake and Taylor still follow each other? Taylor doesn't follow anyone. I think for this reason. She doesn't want people to be like... Yeah. But I'm like, okay, but your boyfriend that I'm following?

I just know. Your fiance. Yeah, that's big. And also the only other time that I've seen when Taylor's, like, friend group or, like, others have unfollowed was with Joe. And it was, like, the friends unfollowed. And that's, like, because it was a huge. So I feel like they ain't going to be friends in time soon. No matter what people want to, like, say, I feel like it's done so.

They haven't been seen together in a really long time either. Right. I also feel like, going back to the wedding party, I feel like Gigi. Hadid. I feel like they remains like really good. Like low-key friends, but they're like always together. I see that. And she has a friend from childhood Abigail that.

Oh, yeah. She'll be there. Oh. I love the fact that we know somehow that Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez text each other about Vaynerpumpurals in the Valley. How did we find out about that? They talked about it, didn't they? Yes, they talked about it.

Selena said that. Selena said it. Yeah. Yeah. Like on a carpet. or something that her and Taylor text about it. And I'm like, that is wild. I love that. The fact that

I need to subpoena those text sponsors. How do I get those text messages? Do I have a right to them? You know, something really cool that happened to me? I went to San Francisco for just one night, and I was at the airport, and I was sitting with Lala and Janet, and we were just waiting for our flight. And we were a Jet SuiteX, which is like the private kind of like, not a private, plane, but it's a lot smaller, yeah.

And we're sitting there and we're just sitting down. And all of a sudden, and this girl walks by and she was like, oh, hey, haughties, I love y'all. It's Kesha. Wait, what? You didn't tell me this. Well, I guess I went your reaction. Well, here's my reaction.

How dare Kesha come up to you and say that? I should have been there. I know. And it was just in passing. And she was like, I love y'all. And I was like, I love that. And it was just so fast. and it was while she got off the plane

just walking to her car and we were just sitting there waiting to get on our plane and she said, I love y'all and I was like, so she recognized us before we even like noticed because it was that fast. And you were probably looking down.

Yeah, not even paying any attention. And then she would like point at herself and she was like, Keshah, I guess because she didn't have makeup on and stuff and I was like, oh my God. You're like, yeah, we know.

So I escape to like some other things, but I also escape to like scripted TV shows. We're very much scripted. So I wonder if it's like the actors and actresses escape to reality because we do it different than the scripted. I feel like that is what it is. I feel like 100%. But most of the people that do the airport content just go and then sell the footage. Well, because isn't it called backgrid? That is one of the sites. Yeah. There's a couple sites. rumors swirling that he had one of his other baby mamas at the game or he had them at practice or I don't know exactly which one or maybe other girls around and this and that. So I'm like, I love Cardi. And I'm like, I love Cardi. know she ain't going to deal with that crap. And he just had all the baby mommas at the same time. So I'm sure. I just feel like, is he a one woman man? I don't.

No. I don't really see it. As soon as I found out that he had another baby. What she deserves. Yeah. She deserves so much better than that. Yeah. Yeah.

Even though he's hot as hell, I think. But he lost the Super Bowl and his woman in the same night. Yeah. But Cardi definitely would be one to spill her own tea.
