This week we have the amazing Daisy Kelleher.
Hello, Daisy.
How are you feeling?
Good.
Oh my gosh.
A little tired, but yeah, good.
I love your accent.
I always get so excited when someone else has an accent that comes on my podcast.
Because I feel like almost everything I say, somebody is like, say that again.
Or do you feel that way?
Sometimes.
Yeah.
But I think your accent's stronger than mine.
What?
Yeah, you've got a pretty thick accent.
You think my accent is stronger than yours?
I think so, yeah.
Oh, that is hilarious.
I guess it's because you don't really hear.
No, you don't hear your own accent.
Like, I don't hear mine at all.
Yeah, 100%.
At all.
All right.
Well, Daisy, she's a fan favorite from below deck franchise.
And now she's making waves on a whole new series.
She's also the host of her own podcast, Yacht Mist, and it's tonight.
It's premiering tonight, your new season.
It's premier day.
I know.
I've been feeling, like, I feel, like, you get excited, but you're also quite anxious.
Yeah.
I had a great season, but I was definitely feeling it yesterday.
It is, I wrapped literally this week.
We did the after show and then my last pick up, my last confessional.
So it's very exciting.
I'm glad we wrapped before the premiere.
Yes, that's good.
Yes, definitely.
And yeah, no, it's going to be a great first episode.
It's going to be a great season.
So I'm excited for everyone to see it tonight.
But, yeah, it's a long time in the whole process.
And it just, yeah, it was a year ago we filmed.
It's crazy.
Wow, that's amazing.
So everyone that's listening, we are recording this on February 2nd.
This won't come out until Friday.
So hopefully you guys have already watched the new episode.
But if you haven't, this is your chance to go check it out and see Daisy.
That's got to be so excited.
So this is a new franchise for you.
Like it's still below deck, but you're on sailing.
Yep.
And now you're on down under.
Yep.
That's it.
We did sailing for, I did four seasons.
Four seasons.
And it was the same boat, the same captain, a lot of the same crew.
So this is definitely very exciting for the viewers to watch me in a new environment.
Yes.
I do think a lot of people are like, oh, can she do it?
And it was, it was really nerve-wracking.
I was, like, it was felt like when I've recorded my first season.
You know, that kind of like nerves, like excitement.
Was it everyone was new crew?
They were returners, but it was my first time working with them.
Okay.
So we've got five returners, the sous chef, Ben,
Joao, and Jason and me, but I had never worked with any of them.
So that was, and you know, I like no Ben's reputation.
He's a hot head.
So I was nervous about working with him.
Jason had a good feeling about it, but you never know.
I mean, who doesn't have a good feeling about Jason?
Yeah, exactly. And he
lived up to my expectation. He was
great. Yeah. And Joieuio
was like kind of notoriously
not had good relationships with his Chief's shoes.
So I was nervous about that. So
I definitely went in feeling
yeah, pretty nervous, but feeling confident.
Yeah, because you're like, I have been doing this for
years. It's not going to switch up just because it's
a different, you know, crew. And I'm going to
show them who's boss. Like that's just
you know, what I got to do. I've got to tell them who runs
the boat. So this will be your
after this airs your fifth season.
on reality TV.
Yes.
What has that been like for you?
Like being a reality TV personality in general,
and you are one of like the long-lasting on below deck.
I know I survived.
What does that experience been like for you?
I loved it.
You know, I never thought that this would be a career path.
I never really wanted to be on TV.
You know, I think, I mean, the usual, like when you're five
and you're like, I want to be Britney Spears or whatever.
But past that, it was never really an aspiration of mine.
it just kind of came up because of COVID.
I lost my job and people were like, why didn't you blow deck?
And I was like, well, you know, I have nothing else to do.
So I might as well kind of reach out to them.
And so, and I never thought as well it was going to continue.
So this is how your story started because I love figuring out when I have reality TV personalities on here,
how their reality TV journey started.
So yours is basically starting because COVID happened.
So I lost my job.
And you reached out. Yeah.
So they kind of reach out to Yardis.
That's how they kind of cast.
And a few friends were like, why don't you try below deck?
I didn't know what I was going to do.
The yachting industry was in a really bad position because of COVID and lockdowns
and not being able to travel.
And so I reached out to them and I was like, are you filming?
Like, you look casting and they're like, yeah.
And it happened quite quickly.
And we filmed in July 2020.
So the UK and Ireland was still in heavy lockdown then.
But Croatia had opened up.
And I was like, they're going to give me a job.
Let's do this.
And I wanted to just try something different.
I thought it was just going to be a one-time thing.
I didn't think I was going to get recasted.
You know, especially below deck.
There's a lot of not returners, like you said.
So I was like, oh, it'll just be a fun experience.
And then they're like, yeah, we want you back.
And I was like, okay.
And then the third year, they're like, we want you back.
And now it is kind of my career.
Yeah.
BravoCon and influencing and all that kind of stuff.
And I love it.
Like the last five years have just been a wild ride.
And yeah, every day is a new day.
and I'm so happy that I kind of took that leap of faith and tried it.
That is amazing.
And also, like, the Bravo family is so incredible.
Yeah, for sure.
It is like a family.
Like, the way everyone looks out for each other.
And, you know, the cheese shoes before me, Kate and Hannah both reached out to me and offer
their support when I joined the franchise.
Even now, like, they're super sweet to me.
I love Hannah.
Yeah, she's so great.
She's so, so sweet.
And, yeah, everyone just looks out for each other.
It's so fun going to Bravo.
Because we're like, it's so fun.
Because we're like in our little bit of our own bubble.
We don't get to kind of interact with other cast and from other shows usually.
So it's really fun to go to BravoCon and be able to see everyone.
I love.
I love BravoCon.
The experience is, was that your first BravoCon this year?
That was not.
It was my third.
Okay.
It's crazy.
I haven't really been around you at the BravoCon.
I saw you a BravoCon this year.
I don't think we suppose.
I did see you.
And it is, it's really weird how many people, because it's,
It is easy to slide against each other.
Because you're kind of doing your thing and your schedule.
And there were some people that I saw, like John Barlow, I saw every two seconds.
I was like, oh, hi again.
Some people you're kind of on the same kind of schedule or something.
Exactly, yeah.
But I think a lot of people don't realize, like, you're also in these scheduled time slots.
So, you know, if you're taking photos or doing whatever and then you're getting pulled
away and then you're going to this or doing this interview or that interview.
That's exactly it.
And, yeah, some people, you're just not on the same schedule.
so you just don't see them at all.
So yeah, I did see you there this year,
but I don't think we kind of cross paths properly.
But how cool when you're in that big room
where they have the food set up and everything,
you get to see people from every single Bravo show,
like coming in and out?
Well, my friend said he was like,
the place to be is the green room.
He's like, that's the ticket you need to get
because everyone's in there and it's so fun.
But yeah, BravoCon is definitely one of the highlights
over the few years.
It's just such a fun energy
and getting to meet all the fans.
like that. Yeah, I love BravoCon.
Oh, yeah, me too. Well, congratulations
on your season premiere. They're actually
doing the Valley teaser
for the first time tonight as well.
And I have not even seen it. I am excited.
I'm a nervous ready for that.
Because you know how Bravo is? They'll let us see an episode
the day before. Or if at all.
We saw a trailer. I didn't even know it was coming out.
I just was like, oh, my trailer's off. I was like, okay.
Yeah. Yeah, everyone thinks that we got
to watch it. People even think like we got to say in the
I'm like, no, no. We have no idea. So our teaser also comes out tonight. So I'm a little nervous about that, but I haven't seen it yet. But exciting night for us both, much bigger for you because it is a whole new series premiere. Here we go again. Here you go again. What was your honest reaction when producers said we want to see you on below deck down under? Switching it up. I was stoked. I was really excited. You know, sailing and we didn't film for a year. So I was, you know, this industry's nerve-wracking.
anyway, are you going to get recasted? Is the show going to continue? Was it a success? You never
know. Never, ever know. Never take it for granted. So it was really disappointing when we didn't
film. In hindsight, I think it was the best thing for me. Sometimes you need a break and sometimes
when something kind of sticks through your fingers, you realize, oh, actually I really, you know,
want this back. I really want to continue with this. As I'm sure, you know, I was talking with Tom the other
day and he said the same. I think we kind of have like similar trajectories in our career when
and VPR kind of stopped and recasted.
And then being asked to join the valley,
you're like, feel really happy and, you know, excited.
So it was the same thing for me with Down Under.
And I was, I welcome the change.
You know, I do feel I got a little bit stagnant on sailing
and I needed some new pressure.
I do thrive really well in pressure.
So I was, yeah, I was really grateful that Bravo gave me
another opportunity.
And, yeah, excited to work with Jason and on Down Under.
And we, it was a great thing.
season. Don't worry. I'm going to ask you more questions about Jason soon. How did you feel about my
brother Tom? He's great. He's so amazing, isn't he? We had such a fun chat. I think Tom's someone I never
really has spent time with either, but I know he's worked when, what was it, winter house with some of
my blood deck people. And I've only heard like really nice things about him. One of the nicest people.
Oh my God. He's so nice. So I was excited to be on his podcast. Yeah. Was it scary leaving selling yacht
after being so identified with that show?
I don't think scary.
I think that the scariest thing about it was just that pressure of like, can I do it?
Can I work with?
Maybe Glenn's the only captain I can work with.
Maybe Parciful's the only boat I can work on.
So that part was scary.
But I was excited to be, I really did love sailing so much and being, you know, part of that
franchise and such a staple.
But I was excited for Down Under as well.
Like they have a great franchise.
And honestly, I'll kind of go where the money goes.
I get it, girl.
You don't have to tell me twice.
Exactly.
Everyone's like, would you have turned it down?
I'm like, no, they're paying me.
Of course I'm going to go over.
How different is it working on a massive super yacht compared to a sailing yacht?
It's not hugely different.
I think people expect it to be different.
But in the interior is the interior.
Like, if you go to a restaurant, it's the same idea, the same concept.
So that's super similar in yachting.
You know, I was still nervous.
and this boat was definitely bigger, so physically it was really demanding.
But it didn't go on its side.
With it being a bigger boat, or boat, sorry.
With it being a bigger boat, do you have more people to work with?
Or is it about the same amount?
Roughly the same, but a few more extras.
So this year we have a sous chef.
See it a little bit more.
Yeah.
And then I also got a deck stew this year.
So I gained half a stew.
Okay.
Half a stew.
I love your accent.
No, I love it.
You took a great iron shock, so when you said Ireland earlier.
Well, like I said, I just, okay, we're going to, because we were talking about this outside in our green room for a second.
So a little break from the below deck questions for a second.
I want to know if there are anything that you have noticed that you say differently,
or you like call an object or an item different, like being from Ireland.
Yeah, this is hard, but there are things over the years because obviously,
working in yachting, I work with a lot of international people.
Right. So I say necklace.
Necklace. Yeah. And apparently people say necklace.
Necklace, yeah.
Which I think we make sense in the way we say, because it's a lace around your neck.
It sounds prettier. I'm not going to lie. Yeah. Necklace.
I've also discovered that we say, because we get taught to say our THs. So when we're in school,
yeah, we get told, this, that, these and those, that's the way the TH goes.
Okay.
So we say Thailand. Thailand. Not Thailand.
Okay.
And then the other one I thought of was, oh, we call like, you know, like sandwich bread,
we call that sliced pan.
Slice pan?
Yeah.
I don't know why.
But that was another thing.
I was like, get the slice pan from the fridge and they're like, what are you saying?
And I'm like, the slice pan.
I'm like, I've never heard that before.
I've actually never heard sliced pan before.
What do you call your grandparents?
Because I just did Harry Jousey's podcast.
Okay.
He's from Australia.
Yes.
And he cannot believe that I called my grandfather Pepp.
and my grandmother, Mamma,
I've never heard that before.
How did you say it?
Pappell and Mamaw.
That's really cute.
It's really, really sweet.
I am so boring.
I call them Granny and Grandad.
Okay, well, that's, we have that as well, obviously, in Kentucky,
or grandfather, grandmother, granny.
So is the way you say it like a Kentucky way,
or is that just something in your family?
I mean, I know a lot of people that call their grandparents
mammal and papal, but I think it is more of,
that Kentucky or like southern.
Okay, that's, I've never heard of that.
That's cool.
I love those.
Is there anything else you can think of that we say differently?
I don't know.
I'll keep thinking about it and if it comes into my head, I will bring it off.
Okay, because I just love to love that.
What will happen is I'll leave and I'll think of loads of stuff.
That happens all the time, but I do love necklace.
I'm about to start calling it at that and it reminds me to be like, what?
I'm talking about my necklace.
It's so cute.
I think it's so much cuter.

you the most about filming in the Caribbean?
I had worked. So all the shows I'd done was in the med for sailing. And I was so, that was
one of the changes as well. I was really excited for. I love the med. But I've been to the
Caribbean a million times and done so many seasons out there. And I love the Caribbean.
Like really love it. The water's just gorgeous. And it's stunning out there. The weather was
amazing. Canawan was interesting because it's super exclusive. You can only get there either
boat or private plane.
So that, yeah, so that was interesting.
Fancy, smancy.
And it was, the nights out were interesting
because it was just us and like taking over these like beach bar
shots. Oh, that's fun. It was fun. But yeah,
really gorgeous. Oh my gosh. What is that
like whenever you're not having to film or
work like with the crew or anything like that? You guys go out
together and like bar hop a little bit? Will we go away? But it's part of the show.
So we film 24-7 for six weeks straight.
And every three days we drop off the guests and then go out as a crew.
And that's where all the boatmances happen.
That's where we get loose.
And the next day we have to wake up with a hangover and start work.
But you never have any off-camera time where you get to, like, go out together without the cameras there?
Never.
Never, no.
Because they don't want to lose story because if it starts developing.
So our show is a little bit different.
Right.
than all the other shows.
Well, that's why I want to get to, like,
a little bit about behind the scenes
because we don't film overnight.
We film for, like, three and a half months.
Yeah, yeah.
But it's like...
And most shows are like that.
Yes, yeah.
Even our show, when we had the Salt Lake City girls on,
they had their production team.
So they would go home in the evening,
and they'd be like, right, we wrapped,
and they would, like, try and take their mics off,
and our producers would have to come out and be like,
no, you're still filming our show.
Oh, yes.
And they're like, no, we're done.
And they're like, no, we're done.
No, you're not done.
And so that was really hard for them to wrap that around their heads.
Whereas our show is 24-7.
I have to have a mic on right until the point that I go to sleep.
And the first thing I do is come in the morning.
And it gets like a little tense.
We have the best production team and the mic people are amazing.
But in the morning when I'm like up and I've had like four hours sleep and I'm like, oh, you're here again.
And they're like, yes, Daisy, I'm here again.
and we have cameras in our cabins.
And so we are constantly filmed.
So it is different to other shows like that.
And we only get to hang out with each other after the show.
And that's usually when the drama really hits.
Yeah.
And then they're like, oh, crap.
People are, you know, these shows are super dramatic.
But really, I think every cast member will say the real drama is off cameras
because people are actually on their best behavior.
Yeah.
For some point, you know.
For just some more, they're still pretty crazy,
but when the cameras stop rolling,
that's when really the kind of claws come out.
Oh, yeah.
We say that about our show all the time.
We're like, we could have cameras year-round with us because...
100%.
We're all real close friends,
and we're all, like, really hanging out with each other
and doing this and that.
I just recently had my birthday in Calbo
with some of my friends who were also on the cast,
and then I did something different with some of my friends,
and I felt like I was in middle school again
with them going back and forth,
like, I wasn't invited to come up or why was I at this?
I was like, hold on.
I love all y'all.
It never ends.
I'm just like celebrating differently in different times.
I want to see everyone eventually.
It's not that big of a deal.
But they were like, we can have the cameras right now.
And I was like, yeah.
But having them overnight has to be crazy because I have never had to experience that in my 10 years of filming reality TV.
Like the overnight cameras.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
No, it's hard.
Like you really putting yourself in a really.
vulnerable place. Like, I'm talking about, you know, not that they're perfect on us, but like,
I'm in my underwear. Yeah. The cameras are going 24-7. They hear everything in the bathroom.
You know, I think so awkward. No, it's, it's a, you're in a really vulnerable position there.
And, but it's part of the, you know, part of Blow Deck. And that's what makes, I think,
blow deck a little bit unique is that there's no hiding away from them. You've really
putting yourself and trusting the process. Yeah. And so I'm waiting for the day I get into another
show and I get to at night be like, see you later.
Yeah, Tudaloo.
Are there places that are secret that you can sneak to?
Are there any hidden places that people don't know about?
I think some people have found little sneaky.
It's harder on the bigger boats for sure.
On sailing, you could never hide because it was smaller.
But on the bigger boats, I think people find like little sneaky hiding places.
I don't.
I'm not trying to hide anything.
But I think there, I have learned now, like, not the first two or three seasons, but if I'm, like, texting privately and I don't want the crew, I've learned where the cameras hit.
Yeah.
So I can text privately, like, home or something I don't want in story.
Right. Right.
And so that's one of the tricks I definitely learned.
Yeah.
I mean, you have to, over time, figure out where all the cameras are.
Oh, yeah, for sure.
And even, like, the tricks that, you know, being like, because I didn't think they watched our text messages, the first few.
few seasons. Oh, for sure that I do. Girl, I can tell you that. No, I know. Yeah. No. I'm like, no,
no, that's not something I want you or need you to see. If you make the wrong face, that's how good
our crews are. If you make the wrong face, they're like, something's going on all the way across
the room with Brittany over there. Yeah. We've got to follow that and find that. Definitely. Definitely.
Like the best. And they become a part of your family because you spend so much time with them.
Like, I love our crew, our producers, our sound guys, like everything. Me too. They're just amazing.
100% and like even, you know, the cast are so great,
but like the cast are usually a lot younger than me.
It is only a six week period.
So people always ask me like,
are you still friends with your cast?
And honestly, most of them I'm not.
And nothing more than just they're a bit younger.
We've really met for six weeks.
Whereas the production, I've actually grown really close
because we've worked together for several years.
They're more my age.
And I also understand the show more.
But yeah, I love my production team.
My producers are absolutely amazing.
Yeah, huge benefit of the show.
I have made, like, really, really good friends.
Oh, yeah.
I, you know, from being on Vanderpump rules for so long,
and then the Valley, a lot of our, like, our producers,
our camera men and women, our sound guys and women,
like, a lot of them work on the Valley as well.
So they have seen me since the very first day I moved to LA.
Wow.
And they're here with me on the Valley.
And it is, like, a bit of a comfort as well,
because there have been times when, like,
my producers have switched,
and I've like freaked out.
Oh, that's normal.
Yeah.
You put a lot of trust into these people and they've gained your trust.
And, you know, they've always like, they've basically always known my producers.
So it's worked really well.
Yeah.
Like that, even, you know, the PR person that does our show, like we've worked together for the last five years.
And that's like a trust thing.
Yeah.
She's excited.
She got a shout out.
No, it really is.
I've had the same manager and publicists for 10 years.
And like you just, it really.
it really matters.
Well, for sure, because we put ourselves into such a vulnerable space.
And, you know, you have to trust those people and trust that they'll be authentic.
Trust that they've got your best interests at heart.
So definitely the producers have become, like, family for sure.
Yeah.
We love you guys.
Yes.
We appreciate everything you do for us.
Keep on making more and more seasons and hiring us back.
Definitely, definitely. Keep us in a job.
Always and forever.
Was this move about adventure, career growth, or was it just needing a reset for you?
I think a bit of everything.
I think the biggest thing was, you know, the reset and I need to work, like you said.
I need to pay bills.
Yeah.
I think the reset was really exciting.
I think I needed, you know, like I said, for not filming for a year.
That was a really good break, but I needed to get back into work.
I think the adventure and the challenge was just a bonus.
But I was ready to, yeah, just put.
sailing and put that era behind me. It was really great, but, you know, there was story there that
maybe became a little bit toxic and, you know, I'm sure people feel like that about your show and
just getting to start fresh and getting to start more lighthearted. Because when you've been on a show
for a number of years with the same people, those problems deepen and those problems get more, you know,
personal. And so I think on down under, I was able to just concentrate on work because I had no
personal baggage there.
Right.
Which is exciting.
Personal baggage is what makes a lot of our...
A lot of our, you know, reality TV lives.
100%.
And I think, you know, I'll be excited as that develops.
But the reset was exciting.
Yeah, a reset for sure.
I mean, girl, I get it.
I was on Vanderpump for a very long time and then switching to the Valley and then
being married to going through separation.
Like my whole life has been switching up for the past 10 years that I've done it.
So I get.
exactly what you're talking about.
And a lot of, I love having people on,
especially from the Bravo world, who like understand
because we are very lucky in that a lot of people
will never get to experience this kind of job that we have.
And like, it is an amazing thing,
but it's cool whenever we both know what we're talking about.
You know what I mean?
It's unique. And I think that's like the part of BravoCon as well.
It is really exciting to have these 150 people who,
like you said, not a lot of people in the world get to experience.
Yeah.
But we know what each other is going through
and can really appreciate the vulnerability
and that kind of authenticity
that we bring to these shows
because it's not easy to be
going through a separation so publicly.
Like I've had nothing like a divorce
but breakups. I'm like, yeah, it's really hard
to share that. Because then you get judged by the whole world.
You get a lot of support, but you're also judged by everyone.
So it's an up and down situation.
You've got to be secure in this business.
You've got to be okay with not looking okay.
Yeah, and you have to not.
read into every like mean comment
every troll thing I speak a lot about like
bullying online and things like that because I'm so against it because it
happens so much and I feel like it's only getting worse
but to be in reality TV you have to be able to
like really be strong
in that part of your life no definitely you're not going to survive it
otherwise and it really is like the trolling is crazy
it's so easy how quick and you know what's interesting
which I'm sure you've experienced is when someone trolls you and you
right back to them and they're like, oh shit, I didn't know you were actually going to read this?
And you're like, I'm sorry. And you're like, why did you say it in the first? Yeah. And it's so,
it's such a strange thing. It's like they have to just get it off their chest. Right. And obviously,
as we all know, forgetting there's a real person on the other side of that. But it's just so easy to
like I've even with friends gotten text messages that they would never say to my face. You know what I mean?
Yeah. Because it's easy to confront someone over a phone and not face to face. But luckily for me,
I have only really gotten support.
It's been very rare.
I've gotten much hate.
But it's all part of the journey.
And once you go through the hate and you survive it,
I think you're really prepared for the next time.
Next time you get a wave of hate.
You're like, oh, I got through this before.
I can get through this.
It makes you stronger.
You're learning.
You're growing.
You can also watch yourself and learn from your mistakes that you've made,
which a lot of people don't get to do in certain things.
But, yeah, support women.
Yes.
Women should always.
support women. I say it every single time.
Positivity. Let's spread kindness everywhere.
Definitely.
Okay. Captain Jason.
Everyone's favorite topic.
I mean, we have to go there.
Look, let's go there.
Okay. All right.
Now, we gotta be honest.
Does Captain Jason know he's the internet's boyfriend?
I think he does.
I think he's quite aware of it.
Is he in his head about it?
I, do you know, I think he,
secretly loves it. I mean, who doesn't? Yeah. But he, you know, it does get a little annoying when, like, you kind of get this image and you're like, yeah, okay, I'm the sex icon of Bravo or whatever. So I think he secretly loves it, but plays off like it's kind of annoying. Oh my gosh. Okay. Why do you think fans are so obsessed with Captain Jason compared to other below-deck captain? I don't know. I think, you know, I think they love them all. Like Glenn was, like, you know, they just have like a different role to play. Glenn was.
like the kind of granddaddy figure.
Like he was just so sweet.
People want to put him in your pocket.
I think Kerry's like a great, you know,
Ozzy guy representation for that.
And Jason, like, he's, you know, he's handsome.
He's handsome for his age.
And I think, I don't know, people just swoon over that.
People just like a guy with dark hair and...
He's a daddy.
Do you know, Jason?
I see him at BravoCon, but I have not, like, actually met him.
But any time I get asked on, like, red carpets and stuff,
who I think is hot at Robocon.
And like Captain Jason.
Oh, I love that.
That's great.
He's one of the couple that I name.
Yeah, he, you know, he obviously fits a really unique role on the show
because you either have the Bravo husbands who are married off
or you kind of have the younger cast.
And so I think a lot of our audience is women, you know,
I think between the age of like 30 and 60.
That's probably our tar demographic.
For sure.
So it makes sense that like, you know, he's the hot single one.
Everyone's like, woo, woo, woo.

Have you ever thought,
ugh, this water is too wet?
This beach is too sandy.
Welcome to Beach Too Sandy Water Too Wet,
the podcast where we do dramatic.
readings of the most wild and off-the-wall reviews on the internet.
We read real reviews about everything from Vegas weddings, matchmaking services, and Trader
Joe's to caves, toddler beds, and Spirit Halloween.
You won't believe the things people think absolutely must be said on the internet.
How else would everyone know that some caves don't have Wi-Fi?
We hear about the good, like the time a couple was happily married in a Vegas Denny's.
And the bad, like who knew people stole from pet cemeteries?
And the ugly.
Because when there's soggy lettuce in the Chucky Cheese salad bar,
It can get pretty ugly.
Join us every Wednesday wherever you listen to your podcast.
I feel targeted by that Pet Cemetery's comment.
I was about to say, wasn't that you?
That was me.
But surprised you the most about working with him?
He's definitely very hands-on,
more hands-on than I thought he was going to be,
which was a great help,
especially at the beginning when we had lost his stew.
We just couldn't have done it without Jason,
like getting into the laundry and washing dishes.
And then I think the other thing,
that surprised me.
I think he gives really sound advice
and I really appreciated that.
Sometimes it can be a lonely island.
You know, my role especially,
you're always having conflict.
Everyone thinks you're kind of,
the bitch of the group.
Can I, I don't know if I can swear.
You're a fan girl.
Go for it.
You're in the valley, that's what.
The bitch of the group
because I have, you know, a job to get done
and I'm mama bear.
I'm always giving out to them.
So sometimes you can feel a little lonely
and I felt like Glenn Jason gave some really sound advice
and was a good sounding board for me more than I'd expected.
That was kind of it.
Okay.
Well, that's interesting.
Do you ever just look at him and are like, okay.
I'm just kidding.
You're probably like too close to it where you're like,
I think that's what it is.
I think people expect that and I'm like,
you're like, it's not like that with us.
Yeah, it's like, you know, it's like when you have a husband
and you stop fancying them because they're like,
trust me, I do.
I feel like that's what Jason.
It's everywhere.
Yeah, exactly.
I'm like, he's almost like, like he's almost like a dad to me.
Yeah, yeah.
So you're not like, no, I'm not swooning.
Yeah, that's not the same.
Okay, so you filmed with the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
Yes.
So you were with Brittany Bateman, Lisa Barlow, Mary Crosby, Heather Gay,
Angie, Meredith Marks, Bronwyn, Whitney Rose.
I know.
All of them.
there was a lot of them,
all of them.
Yeah.
So,
well,
because I'm just saying anything
about Bromicon,
in their huge personalities
and everything,
I can only imagine
what that was like.
Were they a lot different
from your normal charter guests?
They actually weren't.
Like,
we get a lot of big personalities
on a charter guest
against reality TV.
We want really big presents.
So they weren't too different.
They were really lovely as well.
they were definitely not demanding is a strong word like asking a lot of us.
I think the biggest thing with the housewives is they were chaotic.
That's kind of the best.
It wasn't demanding.
Yeah.
They weren't rude.
But just chaotic.
Just like it was like trying to hurt cats.
You're like, where is she gone now?
She was just here a minute ago.
What did she want water?
What drink did she want?
I was like, oh my God.
And smashing fingers and, you know, oh, I want dinner and here.
Oh, I want in my room now.
Oh, we want to go to the beach.
So it was just like a constant flurry of information.
but it was a great way to start the season
and I did feel like if we get through the next few days
we're good for the season we're gonna make it
Were you kind of nervous about filming with a cast of women
who literally argue for a living?
Not really I think because I had so much going on in my end
between chaos that was happening with me
we're trying to work with Ben trying to learn with the boat
I knew they were going to be light and noisy
but it doesn't really affect me.
They're shouting at each other.
Thankfully they weren't shouting at me.
But they were very entertaining.
And I mean, fair plate.
I mean, to all of you guys,
because our show is a little bit different.
In the sense,
we can't really argue the way a lot of your shows argue
because we're still in a professional working environment.
Yeah, you're doing your job.
Yeah.
And the argument you can have with a friend
is very different to an argument you can have with your boss.
Yes.
So in that sense, it was very interesting to watch
because I'm like, I would love to sometimes speak to my cast like that,
but I can't because I'm actually, you know, we have HR and like rules to follow.
Yeah. And so that was definitely interesting and seeing them, yeah, they're just, they're,
they go below the belt. And then the next minute they're having a glass of wine together.
I was like, wow, this is a roller coaster.
Would you ever want to be a housewife after seeing what it's like up close and personal?
Okay, so I would, okay, because our show is really hard to, like, we work.
Yeah.
like I you know some of the hours I'm pulling is like 20 hours a day with no
break oh my gosh oh it's intense it's the hardest I've ever worked in my life yeah and
physically and you're filming on top of that we're filming on top of it and we're going out getting
pretty lit and then having to wake up the next day and really work physically work you have like a
lot of zofran on the boat what is that like like there's a word I don't know it's like a nausea
medication oh that's what I need I need to get to stock oh you don't feel like sick the next day
Honestly, and then I look at the high size.
I'm like, they just got to argue and drink wine all day.
I'm like, I am on the wrong show.
So I, despite their arguments, I would love it.
Okay, that is a good point.
Oh, my gosh.
Okay.
When did you finally first realize that viewers were really invested in your love life?
Oh, God.
I know.
I was like, I think it was honestly probably the first kiss I had on the show,
which was my second season.
I need to go back to my first season
of not hooking up with anyone.
That's where I need to bring myself back to.
But I think that first kiss in the hot tub,
I think surprised everyone.
It certainly surprised me.
Yeah.
And then I think, yeah,
people started to kind of view me differently
and were invested in my love life.
And I do think people love love.
And I think people are really rooting for me to find someone.
I would also love that.
I'm also rooting for me.
Yes.
But it is hard out there.
That place is a jungle.
Yeah. And I, yeah, I think it makes people happy to see people happy. So they're, you know, I think they want me to find love. And every time it kind of falls apart, they're with me. And they're like, oh, Daisy just someone be nicer. And I'm like, yeah, be nice to be Daisy. And me too.
Yeah, exactly. So with you being like gone a lot, how do you have time? Like, are you in a relationship right now?
No, I'm still single. No, I'm single. How would you make that work? Does it have to be someone?
that is part of the world that you work in because I honestly it like I really have been single for a
really long time and it is really difficult I was actually I for drinks yesterday I was talking to them
about it I like I'll go on a couple of dates like I went on a couple of dates with a guy in london
and then I was like okay bye I'm gone for three months like yeah it's just and I'm in you know I'm in a
really exciting time in my career I love being part of blow deck the podcast is such an
exciting adventure that I'm going down and I'm really taking every opportunity as it comes,
but it does hinder that dating side. But I just don't know how long this is going to last.
So at the moment, I'm kind of in my yes era.
Girl, half a five.
There we go.
I say that all time, I'm in my yes era.
Like I got to like enjoy life and have fun.
Yeah, yeah.
Because it's hard being in a relationship and that is, it's not a ball and chain at all because
you want to be there.
but it does stop you from being able to do a lot of stuff.
Are you gone for like three months out of time normally?
For filming it's six weeks, six weeks, and then I'll usually be there for like eight
between getting there and off.
But like when I come to L.A. every couple of months, every couple of weeks for pickups.
I'm in New York a lot.
You know, and then I have to fit vacations in.
Yeah.
I base myself out of London, but honestly I'm there only for about six months of the year.
And it's, I probably fly once, once or twice.
every month at least out of the country yeah so it's a lot so I'm also single and after being a
public figure for so long I've realized a lot about dating and trusting new people in your life whether
it's even dating or even like friendships and things like that do you feel like that has affected
you at all when it comes to dating yeah I think I'm luckier because I'm over in London and it probably
is a little bit different here it the only thing that really notice is everyone's like it must
be so easy for you today. I'm like, no, no, still got to put in the effort. I still got to be
funny and charming and all this stuff. But I think, yeah, it is difficult. And I do think it is
easier when I have dated people off the show that they understand my job and understand what I need
to do and the travel aspect. Yeah, I think the biggest thing that I find challenging is I think men are
sometimes maybe a little jealous. And it's hard to see someone who's like quite successful.
and kind of busy and doing all this stuff.
I think that's impacted a little bit,
but the biggest thing that has been an obstacle
is the travelling at the moment.
I feel like I haven't even gotten into a relationship yet
to really dissect how they feel about me being on reality TV.
So you're just kind of like having fun and doing whatever right now.
I really would love to meet someone.
You know, like I'm 38.
I would love to have a baby.
So time is pushing on, but it is difficult.
and I think when people don't understand that world
and it's hard as well because it's, you know,
it's a bit embarrassing.
I'm like on the show,
getting drunk,
making out in hot tubs and then I have to go on dates being like,
yeah,
I'm always like,
don't watch my show.
I always say that too.
I'm like,
you are going to get the ick so quickly.
I'm like, oh Lord, oh gosh.
Now I don't even give it my Instagram.
I'm like, it is so icky.
Like, it's very female,
like I'm very women power on.
I'm like, I kind of hate men's.
I'm like, don't look at my Instagram.
I'm, well, I, not really by my Instagram, because I've slid into a couple DMs, not gonna lie.
Love that. I need to, this is, I need to start doing that.
Yes, like, it's okay for women to slide in the DMs first sometimes.
It's basically the new hinge.
Yes, I'm not, I've never been on a dating app.
Okay.
So, DMs are like how I've met majority of the people I've been on dates with and stuff.
Oh my God, I love that.
Yeah.
And is it like people like who are also public, Matt, are you just going through finding hot man?
there hasn't been that many okay so let's make that clear there hasn't been a lot but most of them have like a blue check mark because I want to make sure that it's a real person like there are just so much crazy stuff on social media and stuff right now I do get that I think it makes sense it's a blue check person and I think it would be weird if you literally put in hashtag hot guy yeah it's just like random man you know and it makes a lot more sense yeah I need to start doing that yes you do a lot of people do do do do do
It's.
You do.
You did just bring up wanting to have kids.
And I know that you were extremely open about your journey with IVF.
How is that going?
Are you glad that you shared that publicly?
What has it been for you?
So I did two rounds of egg freezing and I'm actually going to do some more.
Is egg freezing different than IVF?
Yeah.
Okay.
So you'll get the egg freezing and then if I choose to use those eggs, then you'll go through IVF.
Got it.
Got it.
But I'm going to do another, I think, two rounds next year just to give myself the option.
Yeah.
But, you know, sharing that publicly, the reason why I did it was because I was actually talking to other women about it.
And so many women had so many questions.
And I was like, oh, wow, there's like a lot of interest.
Since I have done that in my own circle of friends, people have now, five or six of them have frozen their eggs because of me and being like, this is actually a really smart move.
Now it doesn't give you any guarantees for the future,
but just kind of having a little bit of control
and knowing I did something that if it comes to...
I also never wanted children in my 30s.
My mom had me in 40, had my sister at 43,
so I always wanted to be an older mom.
Which is rare for back then.
Yeah, super rare.
No, I'm 38, so that was...
I just turned 37, so...
Yeah, no, that's...
That was not a normal path, but, you know,
my parents are similar to me.
They were in yachting.
But it's way more normal now.
Way more normal now.
Like, especially in cities and things like that.
Like my friend, she said in her, like, baby class or whatever,
she said there wasn't a single mother under the age of 40,
which I thought was just because that's London,
because we're, you know, putting our careers first.
Yeah.
The medicine that we have, we're looking after our bodies more.
So we're able to carry children older.
But it is nice having that, that I did something about it.
And sharing it, you know, I want to be relatable.
I don't want to just show all the good things.
And it is hard kind of being that.
vulnerable and kind of admitting like I haven't met anyone yet who wants to have a baby with me so
I'm going to kind of do what I can to and hopefully have one in the future.
Yeah, no, I love that for you. It is such an issue that so many women face just like whether or
not they want to have children like to have that available to them eventually. Like I just to
relate to you, you know, going through my divorce, I always thought I would have more kids and I never
really thought about freezing my eggs or anything like that. But with people like you who open up
your story, like it really makes me think about doing something like that. Yeah. No, I think it's really,
you know, social media has a really lot of negative things to it. But there are positives and sharing
information and sharing stories like that and making people not feel alone and being like, oh,
that, you know, that is an interesting avenue. And if Daisy can do it, maybe I can do it. So I think
it's an important conversation. It is. And I'm really, yeah, happy I did it. Happy I shared the journey.
and I'll share it again
and the next time I do it
probably during the summer.
But it is.
You don't know.
You don't know what way
your life is going to go.
You know,
if you get divorced
and, you know,
or maybe you don't want to have children.
At the moment now,
I have two issues.
I haven't met anyone.
But work is taking priority at the moment.
So it is difficult.
But maybe one day I'll have a baby.
Yeah.
Well, I love that for you.
And I hope you get whatever you want
out of that journey.
But I think it's amazing to share stuff like that.
I'm trying to start.

I have, you know, my friend Kristen, she went through IUI on the show.
Back in the day, we had a show called Jacksonbury, Tate, Kentucky.
My brother and sister-in-law had an IVF journey to have my,
amazing niece Presley who's eight years old now.
So it is a beautiful thing.
Well, yeah, because I think for a long time without social media, people thought it really
was just them.
And I think there was a bit of taboo around it, maybe a bit of shame, thinking like, oh, I can't
get pregnant, I can't carry.
So I think in the last 10 years, people like your friends sharing those stories,
me sharing the egg freezing, it's so common.
And it's making me people feel like, okay, I'm not this failure in this world.
Like I can have a baby.
I am a good mom.
Yeah.
It's just a delicate science.
So, yeah, I think it's important to share those kind of struggles.
Yeah, I think it is.
I mean, Lala, one of my best friends, she went and got a sperm donor because everything
she went through in her previous relationship and she has her beautiful two daughters.
No, I think it's amazing.
And to share that story, like, it just takes so much courage.
Yeah.
But yeah, if you want something, you got to go out there and get it.
You can't, you know, let fate happen.
and you got to work for it.
You got to make it happen.
Yes.
And manifest all your dreams.
Yes.
That can always come true.
Yes, definitely.
Oh, well, I'm very happy for you.
Okay, I'm going to do a couple of rapid fire questions before I let you go, if that's okay.
Yeah.
All right.
Rapid fire.
Okay, I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm like tense.
Better boss.
Captain Jason or Captain Glynn.
Oh, my God.
You did me dirty on the first one.
Oh, God.
I'm going to go with Glenn.
I had four seasons. Jason still needs to earn that strife.
All right. All right. You got to work for it, Jason.
Harder job. Running interior or driving the yacht?
Oh, running interior.
More dangerous, the ocean or below deck dating.
Oh, below deck dating.
One word to describe Captain Jason.
Swalve.
I love it. Best charter guest ever.
Oh, I'm going to go with Mark because he's my co-house.
host in the podcast and that's how we met.
And we're besties now. Oh, I love that.
I love that. Okay. Sailing yacht or
super yacht? Sailing.
Sailing yacht? Okay. Would you
whether work with housewives again or
never again? No,
we built friendships. I'd work
with them again. Dang, I wish the valley
could go on one. I would just eat
that up. It's wild. It was fun.
Yeah, you need to come on to blow deck.
We're going to have to work for those. I would love
it. I would absolutely love it.
Okay, there are two questions I asked all my guests
before they leave.
If you could be on any other reality TV show,
what would it be and why?
Oh, God, that's hard.
Can it be like a competition style?
Yeah, any kind of reality TV show?
The traders.
Yeah, so many people say the traders.
Okay, well, to give a little, a different one,
it's fine, whatever you would actually want.
Dancing with the Stars as well.
I would. Before Traders, Dancing with the Stars,
I love the idea of a challenge,
and I love to dance.
And so I think it's really cool
that they work really hard behind the scenes
and come out with a new skill and talent.
Yeah, they have to learn a new dance every week.
Yeah, they lose so much why they get in special, great shape.
Like, it has to be extremely hard and, like, you have to dedicate a lot.
And that's what I think, because it's kind of similar to Blow Deck in that way.
Like, I kind of love that.
I love the idea of really pushing myself and coming out with a new skill.
But then, yeah, like, Traders is just so hot at the moment.
Yeah.
I think, again, it's kind of fun to put yourself into a new position.
Because I'm like, I would love to be a trader, but I'm like, can I lie?
I don't think I can.
I don't know if I could lie either.
If they picked me, I'd be like, I thought you had a big smile.
You're like, I'm not a traitor.
I was like, you would be able to tell it from my face.
Like, it's impossible for me not to laugh and smile and giggle.
And I just don't know if I'd be good at it.
I know.
But my friends, exactly.
And my friends do say they have said, like, when I'm put to the test about something,
they're like, you're pretty good at Stuffs.
They're like, I think you'd be a really good trader.
Even though I'm a terrible liar, they're like, you've got it.
You're a bit of a shark.
A lot of people might believe you more because you are.
are a terrible liar.
You know what I mean?
Like, it could be your game.
Yeah, this is.
And everyone,
and I look kind of sweet and innocent.
Yeah.
Can be a bit quiet.
Like I think in the American one,
I'd be quite quiet because they're like big personalities.
Yeah.
But yeah, they would be the two that I'd love to get on.
Okay.
And then last question.
Who is your favorite reality TV star?
Oh my God.
That's a huge one.
Oh, God.
That's a big one.
Who is my favorite reality TV star?
Oh, my God.
I,
I'm going to go with Kate Chastain.
I think what she did with Blowdeck was iconic.
Yeah, she's funny.
She's so funny.
How she kind of set up that franchise to be what it is.
And she's still, you know, she was great in the traders.
She's still there.
And I just love that kind of sarky, sassy, kind of humor that she's done.
And yeah, I think she really did set up for, I know Hannah's going to hate me saying that, but I love Hannah as well.
I love Hannah and I love Kate.
I've actually done Kate's show that she had on Broadway.
Like it was the internet show.
Yes.
I can't think off the top of my head what it's called.
But I've been around her then and like hung out with her at BravoConn and stuff.
She is a hooped.
She is a vibe.
Yeah.
Kate is a good time for sure.
But I think, yeah, what she's kind of done with her career is, is really impressive.
But I mean, there's so many out there that's like, that's such a hard question.
But that's great that you, that's somebody from your show too, that you like, you know,
you love her and I love that.
Okay.

She is iconic.
She's my best friend.

I love that.
She was gorgeous.
She was so sweet.
