Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode of When Reality Hits is brought to you by Booking.com. Book whoever you want to be on Booking.com. Booking. Yeah! Hello everybody and welcome back to When Reality Hits with Jackson Brittany. Hey everybody, how you doing? We just made it to Kentucky. So we were traveling all day yesterday. Yes, we're still traveling together. We have a job here in Kentucky and we travel with our son. But we got stuck in Dallas. And as you
Starting point is 00:00:36 guys know, Jackson does not love traveling the best. So that's, that's just the beginning. I got a whole story of telling you exactly what happened when I got on the plane. So that's that's just the beginning. I got a whole story of telling you exactly what happened when I got on the plane. By the way, I'm not cutting you off. Sorry. But we literally have been delayed like crazy, crazy. I think we finally went to bed at 5am last night. I went to bed like six because I had cruise in my room with me. So I fell asleep around like six in the morning. And I mean, you know, we got we got Comic Con all weekend, which I'm so excited. Can't wait to meet everybody, but our start was kind of crazy.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Our connection flight was in Dallas and there was such a bad thunderstorm that it got completely canceled to go into Lexington. So luckily we were able to get rerouted into Louisville, but we didn't land until after two o'clock, then had to drive from Louisville back to Lexington and then get in our rooms and then Jackson's luggage, Cruises luggage, our stroller and our car seat all got stuck in Dallas. My bag is the only bag that came through. So now Jackson's going to have to run to the airport as soon as we get done with this and go pick up the rest of the luggage because it finally made it to Lexington today. Oh, but that's not the only thing that happened. And you guys all know that I have my issues with flying, right? Well, you want to hear this story?
Starting point is 00:01:48 OK, here we go. So we had, obviously, we left from LA to Kentucky, right? So the company paid for us for our first class seats. But then we had our son come. So we had to purchase his seat so that way he could come with us. So I decided to give my seat, obviously, to crew so he can sit next to his mom. So and I said coach, so here's what happened.
Starting point is 00:02:07 This gets even better. Watch. So this is where it starts to get a little really crazy. I had a gentleman sitting next to me whips out a Subway tuna sandwich, probably the most stinky sandwich you could probably have on a plane, right? Then decides to take his shoes off and he had some kind of like portable blow-up device that he put by his feet and then he passed out extremely close to me. Okay, stop me at any time that you think that like I would get annoyed by this. Is this even a real story? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Like I didn't even, you didn't tell me that happened. So this, this gentleman had this portable device that was like a blow-up thing that I thought maybe was for his head and I was already going crazy at this moment. Then he decides to put it on the ground with his shoes off and put his feet in there. And my question is, what point do you get mad at something like this? Do I get mad at the stinky sandwich?
Starting point is 00:02:57 Do I get mad that he's trying to sleep on my shoulders? Do I get mad that he took his shoes off on a plane? Which by the way, do you think people should take their shoes off on a plane? You take your shoes off almost every time you're on a plane. I don't ever take his shoes off on a plane, which by the way, do you think people should take their shoes off on a plane? You take your shoes off almost every time you're on a plane. I don't ever take my shoes off. You always take your shoes off. You at least have socks on,
Starting point is 00:03:11 but you take your shoes off every single time. I don't really. I don't know. Jacks, yes you do. I don't. Anyway, so. What I think is bad is that somebody puts their feet up on, somebody else's armrest or something without shoes on.
Starting point is 00:03:23 You should put your feet up on anybody. You should never take your shoes off on a plane. I'm sorry. Okay, next time I see you doing that, I'm gonna call you out, because I've definitely seen you do that before. Also, a little parent flying hack, which I don't know if I've talked about this before,
Starting point is 00:03:35 and I actually got this idea from Bo. What Bo does is if you have a baby that's crying or kind of acts up, what he does is he buys gift cards, like $5 Starbucks gift cards. And I can't remember if he hands them out before the plane or after. I guess it depends on how the baby's acting, but that's a cool little parenting hack. I don't know. I mean, buying gift cards, if you know that your baby's going to cry and it's a long flight, I think that's actually a really good
Starting point is 00:03:55 idea. Yeah. Cruz is so good on the plane. I was so proud of him. Yeah. Cruz does really good. So that, that's was our flying experience. And you can tell obviously the way things are going right now in our relationship and then have, you know, screaming and yelling on the plane and people going nuts and flight delays. And then get stuck at the airport. Get stuck at the airport and of course of course I haven't even gotten my bags yet and of course it just everything happened. I haven't had a good flight in so long guys. Like it's been probably a good six or seven flights, the last flights, everything's gone wrong. I know I feel like almost every time we
Starting point is 00:04:27 do a podcast together there's something about a flight going on. I think that's gonna be my new thing like people talk about like the weekly thing mine's gonna be my weekly flight because literally something goes wrong on every flight. Anyway so that's that's what's going on right now. Well at least we get our bags in time and it doesn't have to wait till like Sunday or or until we get all the way to LA. Well, so the guy called me, he's like, oh, sir, don't worry, we'll deliver your bags. But I'm like, no, you're not going to get here till five o'clock. Tell me what time the flight lands. I will be there at one o'clock. I'm picking them up. So anyway, that's what's going on right now. Right now. I got a question for you. So I got a lot of random things
Starting point is 00:05:02 to talk about. I was on the plane. I was just thinking of ideas, things to talk about. But do you like to eat healthy in front of others? Or do you like to eat bad in front of others? What? Like, when you eat healthy, like, does it make you feel uncomfortable? Like, if you're eating a salad and everybody else is eating pizza, does that make you feel weird? Or would you rather be eating bad and everybody else eating healthy? What would make you feel more awkward? I think eating bad and everybody else eating healthy would make me feel more awkward. Really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Because if everybody's eating health. You think it would be judging you? Yeah, if you're sitting there eating, if you're sitting there eating instead of bad and everybody else is eating healthy, it's like, what am I eating this for? You know, I'm having this conversation just because we were filming a scene a couple days ago
Starting point is 00:05:43 and I was with my buddies and I was the only one eating healthy. And everyone's else like, Jackson you're making us feel bad because we're all eating parms, subs, and pizza and all this stuff. And I felt like, oh my gosh, I'm making feel everybody and feeling comfortable. So I was like, oh, that's a really good question to ask.
Starting point is 00:05:55 I think it'd be worse to be the opposite way. Just wondering. Yeah, we did pick up cameras again. You know, I think everybody should like notice about our show is that we filmed the Valley in July July August and September so we wrapped in September So this has been like months and months and months ago
Starting point is 00:06:18 We picked back up to let everybody know what's going on with our lives now for a couple, you know days So I just want everybody to know like and keep that in mind with everything that's going on with our lives now for a couple days. So I just want everybody to know and keep that in mind with everything that's going on in our lives that a lot has changed since we wrapped the show, but we're still so excited. It's going to be such a good show. There's so many positive things that we go through. There's a lot of drama, but it's a lot going on. But I think there's a lot of people out there trying to act like that.
Starting point is 00:06:47 What's going on between us is a publicity stunt. But no, this is our real lives. I would never uproot my child if it wasn't for, you know, for the best and for us to try to figure things out between ourselves. It's not a publicity stunt. I cannot make that clear enough. And it's also making me angry that people think that you know Yeah, and the reason we did this too because we feel like you know
Starting point is 00:07:08 It's it's important for us to be honest with all of our fans You guys have been so amazing over the years and it's just the right thing to do to let everybody know what's going on Yeah, that's why I decided share our lives. We might as well let you guys know what's going on But it has nothing to do with the show like I said that we wrapped the show in September So we've just been filming interviews and things like that since, but it's going to be such a great show. The show will go on. Our podcast will go on.
Starting point is 00:07:31 We are co-parenting. We're doing the best that we can. We're just trying to figure some things out right now. It doesn't mean that we are going to get divorced or anything like that. This literally is just, we're trying to figure things out and take some times for ourselves. And you know, we just needed it. Things just need to be better. I'll just say that.
Starting point is 00:07:48 You know what, too? I don't know anybody who's married who hasn't gone through what we're going through right now. So that's a little bit. Everybody kind of goes look to you like, oh my God, what's going on? Literally the divorce rate is 85%. Everybody you know is getting going goes through something in their marriage, whether it's a hiccup or taking a break or whatever.
Starting point is 00:08:04 But it's just, it's a normal thing. So we're trying to figure it out and that's pretty much where we're going to leave it. I think that that's all that we should talk about for now. But yeah, please everybody, thank you for reaching out. I got so many people writing in saying that they're thinking of me and that they're, you know, hoping everything is okay and this and that. So we really appreciate the support. We just want to make sure people realize like this is our real lives at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:08:25 And we also are still friends. We're still co-parenting. The cruise is what matters the most. So yes, we are going to have a podcast. Yes, we are going to have a bar. Yes, we are going to have a TV show. And we're going to be adulting as hell about this. When reality hits is brought to you by Quince.

Starting point is 00:11:27 Okay, next thing you know what, I was just on the plane and I was so freaking bored on the flight and so miserable that I was going through photos of cruise because that's the only thing that makes me happy. And I realized I have, okay, so I think my parents probably have 15 photos of me from 1995 to 1998, 15, right? I have 143 photos of cruise from the last two days. Well, think about how big the camera was that they had to lug around with I have a hundred and forty three photos of cruise from the last two days Well think about how big the camera was that they had a lug around when you were little I'm just thinking about it like I'm like literally going through my phone
Starting point is 00:11:52 I'm like gosh, I don't I wonder if my mom ever had this many pictures and I'm going back I'm like I think I've seen like maybe maybe 15 pictures in five years My parents definitely have a lot of photos of me when I was a little bit nowhere near as much as I as I have now like think About it. We have our iPhones with us 24 seven. Back then you had to like consciously think like I'm going to bring my camera with me or this huge camera recorder that sits on your shoulder. Like I thought that's one thing that I do miss though is like home videos because right now we only take like short clips like 30 second clips for like an Instagram bike.
Starting point is 00:12:22 But like I was watched, I like to watch home videos whenever I go home and it'll be like my entire birthday party is on home video and you get to see all your friends there. Maybe some people have like passed away in your family and you get to see them on these like amazing video tapes. Like that is something that I miss. I try to video cruise as much as I can so they always have them, but it's just not the same as like the good old home video movies that we had that were like hours long. You know, and you know what? Until we started using mixed tiles, we literally never even kind of blown up our pictures really. We just keep them in our phones.
Starting point is 00:12:52 Yeah, they're always in your phone. Yeah. But then we started using this company mixed tiles and now we're starting to blow up all our stuff because we're like, what are we going to do with all these pictures? We might as well put them up. Well, I do make a lot of photo album books, but if you don't like think about it, it's not as like common as it used to be. Like you actually have to like be like, okay, I need to make a lot of photo album books, but if you don't like think about it, it's not as like common as it used to be. Like you actually have to like be like,
Starting point is 00:13:07 okay, I need to make a photo album. It takes time. Like you gotta go sort through it, you gotta do all this stuff. And I just think like I said, I love stuff like that, this sentimental stuff. And you know, that's what really matters. By the way, if you guys haven't heard of Mixed Tiles,
Starting point is 00:13:18 you should guys look up that company. This is not an ad. It's absolutely amazing. You just put your stuff in and your pictures come like in no time. So it's actually really great. Anyway, how old do you think it is for a guy? Okay, I'm going to say a guy.
Starting point is 00:13:31 I'm kind of talking about me. How old is it too old to be wearing Jordans? Like does there a certain point in my life where I had to stop wearing Jordans? I don't think so. I think a shoe game in a man is extremely important. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:44 I think even a silver Fox could rock it in the correct way. I agree. But I was listening to some other guys talk and there was other dads group chat and his son was like, dad, when are you going to stop wearing Jordans? And he was like 43. Oh, Lord. I'm 44 going on 45 and I have a pretty extensive Jordans collection. I guess it depends on what your style is. Like if you're like some people go a little too young looking for their age. Like I added like a young hipster outfit with the Jordans like in your 50s that might be a little weird.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Okay, so what about like- You should not dress it right. So what if I wore ripped jeans? No, I don't think ripped jeans are- I don't think so, I think that passed me up a little bit. Yeah, that passed me up. Just going on this little shoe kick for a second. So Brittany and I went to our first mixer with crew, crew's school.
Starting point is 00:14:29 We had our first parents kind of like hang out and meet kind of meet and greet thing. And no kids, no kids just thing. But my thing is, so we go to this, this beautiful home and what is your thoughts on adults getting together for a mixer or cocktail party? Should they or should they just make them take their shoes off at the front door? Do you think it's weird if people say, hey listen, do you mind removing your shoes?
Starting point is 00:14:52 When we're all adults, it's not like we're running around in mud. We all have nice shoes on. Do you think it's appropriate for- I think that's each house owner's decision. So whatever, like if I come into somebody's house and they say to take your shoes off, I'm gonna take my shoes off, I'm not gonna care. Okay, so I agree
Starting point is 00:15:06 So we went to this mixer, right? So then we went to then Cruz has Goes to speech therapy, right? And I had to bring my son over to this house and the woman the way she phrased it was like we take off our shoes here She said it to me like that and I was like, are you looking at me or are you talking to my son? It's the way she said it like, you know, I would have said, you know, do you mind if we just take off our shoes in our house? We just like that. But she looked at me.
Starting point is 00:15:28 She's like, we take off our shoes here. And I was like, oh, OK. I don't I mean, I have $300 Jordan's on. I felt like I'm running around. Well, it just sounds to me like she's a speech therapist. So she words things like that. I wasn't sure if she was. But you know, she was looking at me.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Well, yeah, probably because she wanted you to take your shoes off. I know. You got to just respect the homeowner. Whatever they decide is what you go with. You know, she was looking at me. Well yeah, probably because she wanted you to take your shoes off. You gotta just respect the homeowner. Whatever they decide is what you go with. You know? I don't think it's weird either way. Would you tell, I would never.
Starting point is 00:15:51 You tell people all the time whenever we get our floors cleaned to take their shoes off. Or the camera crews to put those like blue things over their feet. Yes, certain types of people. So we have camera crews, right? And these guys are running around all over the place. So yes, I wouldn't mind if they put some,
Starting point is 00:16:03 we have these shoe coverings. But for the most part, and yes, right after I get my floors done, you know, for the first week, of course you're going to be like, can you just take off your shoes? And then of course later on, you're like, whatever. Yeah. But for the first time, like you do anything, you just want to keep it clean. I mean, it definitely is a lot healthier and cleaner to not wear shoes inside the house. Yeah. So what did you do? I hate being barefoot. I always wear slides, even like my indoor slides. I have the indoor shoes that I only wear inside. I don't like the way that my bare feet feel on stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Even like around hotel rooms and stuff, I always have my slides. Yeah, I'm kind of both. With Cruz, we try to keep socks on him, but he picks up so much speed in that house that he's like, stop all the time. He's a running machine. I never really asked you.
Starting point is 00:16:41 So I picked Brittany up the other night and we went to Cruz's mixer. Did you have a good time with that? I think it was pretty fun. Not gonna lie. We were both so nervous walking in. We were like, okay, first of all, let me talk about, let me, first of all, let me back up a little bit. Right? So this was announced. We went to this mixer after we kind of announced that Brittany and I separated. So we're like, what? She were like, do we go? Do we not go? I'm like, well, we don't go. They're gonna talk about it. So we're like, we're gonna go.
Starting point is 00:17:04 So she's like, okay, yeah, you're right. So I picked her up and we're just sitting in the car. We're like, I'm so nervous to go in there because we don't know any of these people. Yeah, we're just getting to know everybody. Yeah, we're just. They're also very awesome and nice. Everybody was so nice.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Just want to make that clear. It was fun. Oh yeah. Yeah. But we were nervous lately. We were so nervous because I just felt like, I felt like they were all already new about like talking about us or something. But it ended up being really fun. We went to a nice, we met some really cool parents.
Starting point is 00:17:28 Chris is gonna start soccer with some of the other kids. I was so excited. I think I talked to the moms more than I took to the dads. Dad seemed a little boring to me. So the moms were a lot of fun. I think that everyone else was just feeling the exact same way we were. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:17:41 And it's like, what do you talk about until you get to know people? You know, it's just like, oh, my kid climbed on the back of the couch yesterday. How many kids you have? Are you gonna have more? Where are you gonna take? I'm gonna kindergarten. Yeah, it's just a lot of, and I always went to public school. So we didn't have mixers. And of course, I'm like the country one of the group. Everyone else is like, you know, really, I don't know. They were all talking about schools and stuff. And I'm like, well, I'm from Kentucky where we had like one school that you went to like one high school. So
Starting point is 00:18:13 I didn't have to like worry about all that. But in LA it's like crazy. Like we got to like sign crews up for kindergarten like now and he's only two years old. So this it's a whole different ball game when it comes to schools here in LA. It's politics here. It's crazy. It's like who you know and stuff. It's, it's, it's crazy. But he, but by the way, a lot of people asked how Cruz is doing in school. He's doing good. He's making friends. I can definitely tell that he, you know, is getting more active with his buddies every single week that he goes in. So he's so cute. It's hard to leave him there, but I get so excited whenever I get to go pick him up
Starting point is 00:18:47 and he's just so excited to see me and he like freaks out and comes and runs and gives me a big hug and kiss. That's like almost the best part of my day is whenever he does that. I love it. Just a little side note, I've been asked, what's this new gym that I'm going to?
Starting point is 00:19:00 I know a lot of you guys follow me of what my workout is stuff. And the reason I go to this new gym is because my old gym went out of business. It's called Training Mates. They have a lot of different locations in me of what my workouts and stuff. And the reason I go to this new gym is because my old gym went out of business. It's called Training Mates. They have a lot of different locations in LA. So just trying something else new. It's been a lot of fun.
Starting point is 00:19:10 I appreciate you guys all watching and cheering me on. It's awesome. Your videos were cracking me up because you posted these videos the other day where you were like on the rower. And you're just going so fast. And like everyone else is like in slow motion around you. It looks like those videos that people post when they're like at the gym for
Starting point is 00:19:28 the first time and then they look one direction and like one person's like doing something and then they look the other direction and somebody else is doing something at the gym. I feel like that could have been one of those videos. They say you're supposed to go... You're going so fast. I'm trying to get a workout. I'm trying to burn calories. No, I know. And it was just hilarious. I was like, I could see that being added in. Because everyone else seemed to go in slow,
Starting point is 00:19:46 slow mo beside you because you were going so hardcore. It was funny. So we are at Lexington Comic Con just to let you guys know. We're pretty excited to be here. We're actually in our... Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We're actually in our room right now filming this, but I was in the lobby. I ran into a lot of cool people.
Starting point is 00:20:05 There's a lot of people from the 90s here that I haven't seen in years. Tom Schwartz is here with us and Kristen Doty is here with us and he's his favorite person. He's so excited to see James Vanderbeek. That is his idol. He was on Dawson's Creek. He was on Varsity Blues. He's got this famous quote in Varsity in varsity blues goes I don't want your life. So Tom right he's got the varsity blues jersey that says mocks on the back. I called him three times yesterday. Tom do not forget your jersey literally three times he gives up this morning. I forgot the jersey. I forgot the jersey. I go Tom we're finding James Vanderbeek as soon as we go downstairs.
Starting point is 00:20:45 All he had to do was pack it in his bag. He goes, I left it on my bed. You believe that? That is so funny. I could not, I could not believe it. I'm so excited to meet everybody. And I'm so excited because I've got so many friends that are gonna be like at the Comic Con
Starting point is 00:20:58 that have texted me, even like I bought tickets for my son that I haven't seen since like my college days. So I'm like super excited for this. Of course we're in my stomp on grounds right now. So I'm just so happy to be in Kentucky. I love it. I got a random question for you.
Starting point is 00:21:11 What are your thoughts on men? This is a new trend right now. Men wearing shapewear. What are your thoughts on that? Wait, is that real? It's a real thing. It's trending. People are doing it now.
Starting point is 00:21:23 They say if women can do it, if women can wear push-up bras and skin, skin, what do you call them? Okay. Women are judged 10 million times more than a man will ever be judged. Okay. I'm just, I'm getting, I'm not arguing. No, I'm not. I'm just stating a fact. I'm just like, it's a completely different thing. I mean, if a man wants to wear shapewear, go for it. But I just think that like, it's, completely different thing. I mean, if a man wants to wear shapewear, go for it. But I just think that like, it's, I don't know. It seems a little weird. I don't know why it's been a little weird to me. It's all over my Instagram.
Starting point is 00:21:53 It's all over. I have no idea anything about that. It's hilarious. It scares me. Like, just these things just pop up on my Instagram. See, we have to wear like tight dresses and stuff. Like, guys aren't wearing tight clothes like girls have to wear. That's why shapewear is so important for us.
Starting point is 00:22:04 And because we have children, like I need to wear like shapewear and stuff like guys aren't wearing tight clothes like girls have to wear. That's why shapewear is so important for us. I mean because we have children like I need to wear a shapewear and stuff because I had a child. You know, so like my body is like different now. So like there's certain outfits that I wear that I want to wear shapewear underneath of it to keep everything tight and right, you know, I'm not arguing with you. We have to do what they have to do. They have a lot harder lives than men do. Can you imagine Jacks having to do your hair and your makeup every time you left the house? I would be the ugliest woman ever.
Starting point is 00:22:30 First of all, I'm cheap. Oh, we know. Tina Lamar was not cute. I'm cheap. I'm not going to go out. I think I've had to do it a couple times for you where I've had to go pick up some nails or some eyelashes or some mascara.
Starting point is 00:22:41 And I'm like, you spend all this and it doesn't last you that long. You've got to keep rebinding, rebinding. I'm curious, you spend all this and it doesn't last you that long and you gotta keep rebuyin', rebuyin'. I'm curious what, you know, before when you were younger, like what you would spend monthly on just makeup alone? Well, I didn't ever, like, I would always, whenever I was younger, younger, I would always just like go to Walmart and buy
Starting point is 00:22:58 or Target or something to buy the makeup there. So which is like not that expensive, but it's still good too. Of course I buy a little bit more expensive things now, but back then like I would just I would always like pick my favorites and stick to the same thing and I would just rebuy the same thing every time I needed to. But like a makeup palette can last you a couple years. Yeah. If you use it sparingly.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Yeah. Well, if you use like I don't know, I've seen some girls way too much. They must go through palettes like in a week. I think like foundation, eyeliner, mascara, those are the things that you buy more consistently. But like palettes and like bronzers, powders, they last a lot longer. So what would you say? 40 to $50 a month to the average girl.
Starting point is 00:23:37 The average college girl. Oh yeah, yeah, for sure. So $50 a month. And some people a lot more, cause some people will only wear like the really expensive stuff. Some people will only wear the stuff from Target like it goes up and down so much And does brand matter when it comes to makeup? Does it matter?
Starting point is 00:23:51 It can if you want like you can find some really good stuff at like like I said like Target or Walmart I have Scott stuff from there myself But then also like the good pallets that last a long time they're gonna be more expensive. Yeah, because the quality is a lot better the pallets that last a long time, they're gonna be more expensive because the quality is a lot better. Starting point is 00:26:31 own wedding drunk? No. And the best man had to hold him up and the bride is crying her eyes out. No. It's a beautiful wedding. I didn't see where it was. But he's like this. He's like stumbling.
Starting point is 00:26:42 You guys can't see him right now. But he's stumbling. The best man is holding him up. The bride is literally crying her eyes out. You can see her. The people are filming the whole wedding. Girl, get out now. What would you do in that moment? She needs to get out then, because that's
Starting point is 00:26:55 the most important day of their life. And he's already drunk. That does not seem like a great future. First of all, did you guys get married in Kentucky? Because there's a bourbon trail here. And I just want to let you know when I got married, if I would have went out with my buddies the night before, that would have been me. Yeah, no, that's awful. That's the most important day of your life. And you can't even not drink on
Starting point is 00:27:12 that day. Like I had a couple drinks before we got married, but like I was completely sober. I remember everything. It was almost like I couldn't even get like a buzz that night because there was so much going on. Okay, I got a couple questions real quick, if you don't mind me asking. So this is a question from I am the man, 00. Jax, do you and Britney still go to a lot of Hollywood parties as much as you used to? And the question is that is in the beginning, I would literally go to the opening of an envelope.
Starting point is 00:27:37 I would go to literally everything. I don't care what it was, I would go the first time. Yeah, we definitely used to go to a lot more stuff. Now, no, but I still like to get a jackson's all the time you go out all the time I'm not talking about I'm talking about like Hollywood yeah I'm talking about it we get invited to a lot of things like I think the last one I went to was a white fox event and it was so beautifully done but I felt like everybody was like 20 years old yeah everybody seems so young so trendy so
Starting point is 00:28:01 tick-tocky and I was like like, oh my God, this is crazy. So for you, you would say, would you say, do you still like to go to the events? You're 50, 50? I go to events sometimes. Like I like to go and just like make up events and different things, but there's a lot of like daytime events.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Yeah. Some of it like, I can't go to everything, but whenever like my publicist Lori comes into town, she always like takes me to certain events. And like the good ones, like I went to the L'Oreal Women of Worth event. And that one was amazing. Like Eva Longoria was there.
Starting point is 00:28:28 There was so many incredible women that were telling their stories about how they changed the freaking world. So it was such an inspiring thing to be at. So I was super grateful for that experience. To me, I'm at the point where, like Brittany said, I do go to Jackson's a lot because I own the bar, so I like to go there as much as I can. But as far as Hollywood events, no. But I do like to be invited a lot because I own the bar. So I like to go there as much as I can. But as far as like Hollywood events, no, but I do like to be invited.
Starting point is 00:28:47 I like to be invited. So I think that's more important to me than going. Yeah, because we still go sometimes. Like, you know, the People's Choice Awards and stuff, I was thinking about going, but you know, maybe next year, because we'll have the Valley out finally. But you know what? We've been to those awards and it's glamorous.
Starting point is 00:29:02 They're so fun. Brittany likes them. To me, it's a lot of hurry up and wait. I think they're so fun. There's always one bar and you have to wait until there's a commercial to go to the bar and usually you're sitting there and there's a lot of like. Jack's is jaded.
Starting point is 00:29:14 I think it's so awesome. Cause like I think about there's so many people that will never get to go to something like that. And I, you know, I don't take that so for granted. I just think it's so awesome. And you know, just so excited for it. Cause you get to see so many stars in one place. Like Jennifer Innes had walked right beside me and it was awesome. We made eye contact. I almost died. I love, I love stuff like that. Okay. This is another question for both of
Starting point is 00:29:37 us again from Jesse Fion X 56. When you get together with your other reality star friends, what do you guys talk about? Everything. That's a really good question. Everything. We talk about everything, because they're my actual friends. Or do you mean other reality people from other shows?
Starting point is 00:29:53 For instance, when we went to BravoCon and we were sitting at lunch at table, what do we talk about? Do we catch up each other on each other's shows? Do we try to gossip? I think we kind of catch up on each other's shows. We talk about production and different things. A lot of it is what kind of drama's going on. What's shows. We talk about like production and different things. A lot of it is what's-
Starting point is 00:30:05 What kind of drama is going on? What's true and what's not of everything's going on. Yeah, what's true. We saw Captain Lee and we just like went up and gave him a hug cause he was on our podcast like right before BravoCon. He was just so nice. Southern Charmed people, we were talking with them about different things.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Just like kind of catching up with each other, you know, in the Bravo world, we all get to know each other so fast, you know? Yeah, I know, I agree. I, I, I can try to think. Even if I haven't watched their shows, like I said, we still know them personally, you know, a lot of people are now, now since we have a podcast, I'm like, can you do my podcast? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:39 You have a podcast. So it's always cool to see everybody because listen to the telling times we really get to catch up with everybody is that watch what happens live Bravo cons? Yeah, when we go to New York? So everyone's just pretty basically catching up and filling everybody in on what's true and what's not My next question is to you and I thought this was a really cool question Who this is a really bizarre one and I was way off when I when I thought about it Who do you think the top five most famous people are in the world right now today? Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Okay, that's right. Beyonce. Nope, she's not on the list. Okay, this is mine. Oh, I think. Oh, you want me to tell you what they are? Do you want to say what you're there? Well, you just asked me a question, I thought.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Okay. You tell me what you think they are and I'll tell you what they are on Google. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Christian Rinaldo, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner. You've got three of them. You're missing Lionel Messi. I don't even know who that is. I don't either, nobody does. But he's the-
Starting point is 00:31:31 Are you talking about the puberty thing that they did? Okay, I saw that he like beat, or was that there with Christian Ronaldo? And I was like, who is that guy? He's like really, really good soccer player. I can't believe I've never heard of him. You wanna know who I can't believe? But who's the other person? The Rock. Oh, I mean, he's, yeah. He is the Rock. You wanna good. I can't believe I've never heard of him. You want to know who I can't believe? The other person.
Starting point is 00:31:45 The rock. Oh, I mean, he's yeah. You want to know who I can't believe? Maybe because I'm too old. Where's Tiger Woods? Where's Michael Jordan, who has his own shoe? Well, they are very famous, obviously. Michael Jordan?
Starting point is 00:31:56 But now the younger people, the younger generation, aren't going to know as much about them. Also, Elon Musk was on there, by the way, too. So I'm just shocked maybe because I'm older, but I thought Tiger Woods and Michael Jackson, I thought still Michael Jackson would be up there. Yeah, I mean, they definitely are, but I think that's for the older generation.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Like if it's everybody in the world, the younger people aren't gonna like pick them. The only person that I'm shocked about on that list, I can kind of get everybody right now, was Selena Gomez. Yes, she's popular, but why is she in the top five? People love her. She's like one of the,
Starting point is 00:32:24 she's not like some of the most Instagram followers. I think it's crazy to me. Yeah But she's really down to earth and really real and I think that's why people like her so much So that's really interesting. Do you guys a new poll says that half Americans between the ages of 18 to 29? Still live at home with their parents. Oh lord. That's terrible 18 to 20 not but listen We have inflation right now things cost a lot And you're still living at home with their parents. Oh Lord, that's terrible. 18.9. But listen, we have inflation right now. Things cost a lot. 29 and you're still living at home with your mama? They're so they're wrong there. I've, as soon as I got to winter college, I had my own apartment. Like I got jobs and I worked so that I had my own house. You know, speaking of trying
Starting point is 00:33:00 to save money, I have a little bit of an Uber hack here for you guys. Listen, if you're trying to save money and you take Uber, bit of an Uber hack here for you guys. Listen, if you're trying to save money and you take an Uber, take a Spanish speaking driver only, it will save you $10. Spanish speaking drivers on Uber only. Is that real? Yeah, it's a 10. We're all talking about my buddies. Like you'll save yourself $10. Now, they only speak Spanish. Yeah. But if you don't want to talk to them, just put do not want to talk to me. And you'll save $10. That's terrible. Now, this leads into my other question. There is an option on Uber that says you can say, please do not talk to me.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Now, if you are an Uber driver and you got, someone says, do not talk to me, would you feel weird already that that person is getting in your car and doesn't even know you, but doesn't want you to talk to them? Yeah. How would you feel about that? I think it, yeah, I mean, it's kind of rude.
Starting point is 00:33:41 I mean, coming from Kentucky, like, we don't do that. We don't do that here. You get in the elevator and you say, hello, I mean, it's kind of rude. I mean, coming from Kentucky, like we don't do that. We don't do that here. You get in the elevator and you say hello, you open the door for people, you wave at people. If somebody's riding down the street in the tractor, they're waving at you as you're going by. Like that's where I'm from, but LA is like that. New York, LA, Miami.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Like you get on the elevator, nobody talks to each other. And that, for me, feels so uncomfortable. Not even to say hello or like have a good day when you leave the elevator like just now Jackson I were on the elevator coming up to his room and there was a man on the elevator and he said hello to us as it's what floor and then I said have a good day like that just seems so normal but in LA people don't do that right yeah no you're right no I'm just why I'm asking yeah do you have you had any crazy uber experiences I know actually I know you have you told me a couple not really crazy, but you've told
Starting point is 00:34:26 me like where you felt a little uncomfortable and uber. I can't remember exactly the stories, but do you do you are do you talk back and forth to drivers? Sometimes like especially if I'm in having a girl's night or something like I like to ride in the front if it's a full car because I get carsick really easily. So if I'm sitting in the front and it's like a girl's night and I got a little buzz going on, I will sit up there and I will ask the Uber driver everything about his life.
Starting point is 00:34:50 I will ask him where he's from, what he's doing. We become best friends in the Uber. Then I put music on and we're dancing and the Uber driver's dancing with me in the front and then the whole car is getting involved. That's what makes the foot really fun night. And this is where Brittany and I are incredibly different. This is what I want you to do. Say hi, how are you? Do you, would you like a phone cord? And that's it. Oh no, I will sit there and talk his ears off. If I got a little buzz, me and the
Starting point is 00:35:14 driver will be BFFs. Like no doubt about it. That's really funny. Hey, so I'm really excited too, by the way, that we are in Kentucky because I get to see my wonderful mother-in-law. She has become quite the crafty little lately, lady, lady, creating all types of country things for your home, your business. Definitely give her page a look. It's called the farmer's daughter. She's some really cute things on there, especially for your house. And now Easter is coming up and she's been working incredibly hard on her stuff. Oh, she's been loved that you said that. And sure stuff is so sweet and so amazing. She does so well on it. So check out her page
Starting point is 00:35:44 again. It's called the farmer's daughter or her Instagram, Sherry Cartwright. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah. And by the way, getting, but also one thing I'll say really fast is like she makes these lanterns lanterns out of the tobacco sticks that were from my papals farm because my back way back in the day, my farm was a full working tobacco farm. So my papal who never smoked or drank a day in his life was a tobacco farmer.
Starting point is 00:36:06 So we had thousands and thousands of tobacco sticks. I mean, these are coming from our long years and years and years ago. Like, yeah, like the early 1900s, 1800s. Yeah. So everything you're getting from Sherry is something from the barn that the barn collapsed over so many years. And it's all from our Turner farm. And she hand makes all of this stuff herself. So it's really, really special and it's really cute.
Starting point is 00:36:28 And so just give her a little shout out and give her some support on her page. She's gonna love it. She's in their room right now with Cruz watching him. She's so excited. She's gonna babysit him while we're doing a comic. Come on. She's so happy. So I woke up this morning and my prayers were answered by McDonald's.
Starting point is 00:36:41 And I just want to say thank you guys very much. You guys came out with a steak and egg cheese bagel. I'm very excited about this. The only thing that bothers me about McDonald's right now, which I do go to every week and I don't care what anybody says. I've watched every fast food documentary, every kind of thing. You should not eat this or whatever. I'm still going to eat it.
Starting point is 00:36:56 But the only thing that bothers me about McDonald's and if you're my age, you will definitely understand is now McDonald's kind of looks like a dentist office. Have you gone into it? It's not the same. It's super modern. Oh, it's modern. It's like Ikea. It's super modern. Oh, it's modern. It's like Ikea. It's like they you want to bring back like the play zone and the big in the purple guy walking around in the in the balls
Starting point is 00:37:14 in the Mac tonight. I think that's so. But they are starting to bring back the little like Cruz had a happy meal the other day and he had one of those like vintage looking chicken nugget toys that are like a chicken nugget with a wig and little feet. Yeah. He just got one of those. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:29 I thought that was so cute. I was like, oh my God, we have these when I was little. So they are bringing back some vintage stuff, but I know what you're saying. I got one more little story to tell. Okay. Yeah. Okay. So guys, I was at the park the other day.
Starting point is 00:37:41 We go to this park, which is down the street from our house. I can't remember the name of it. I published it and say it anyway. But anyway, we're at the park the other day and I ran into one of my favorite new actors from one of my favorite new shows, The Bear. Jeremy White was with his two daughters and I saw him and I was kind of letting Cruz like play a little farther away because I wanted to go talk to his daughters. So I was super excited and I'm like in my head, like I'm just in my head like is it okay if I go up to him? Is it okay? What should I say? What do I I what do I don't like when people do to me? So I was trying to be very just short and sweet so I did go up to him and I just want to say hey man
Starting point is 00:38:12 Love your show. I'm obsessed with it. When is the new season come out? He was so nice to me He's like all things I really really appreciate it comes out in June. He was with his two daughters He was really really cool. I don't know if you guys have seen the bear But Brittany and I are pretty obsessed with that show. We're super excited about it. A little fun fact too, by the way, Cruz's speech therapist, she also is a cooking instructor. She taught the cast of Bear how to cook
Starting point is 00:38:37 and learn how to be in the kitchen for an entire year before that show came out. She did? Yeah, she told me. I didn't even know that. She taught all of them how to how to act in the kitchen because none of them they're all actors. I was telling her about it actually the last time I saw her was the day I saw Jeremy white. She's like
Starting point is 00:38:55 oh that's so funny I taught them how to how to do all the sayings. That is awesome. So I thought that was really cool and a side note the brother on that show that they always call cousin, his name is Robert on the show, but I can't pronounce his name because he's got a really long name, but I really like him. He did so well on season two that they casted him in the new Marvel show. So he's in a new Marvel movie that I don't know the name of that one either. But that's cool.
Starting point is 00:39:16 Anyway, so let's answer a couple of questions for fans because I appreciate so much that you guys write in every week. We're just going to answer a couple questions and then we got to get to Comic Con. All right, this is from Jewel's sister. Are you still doing the beer cheese thing? I wanted to answer this one because I feel like we've said it a couple of times, but I wanted to answer this one just for you, girl. Yes, we are. We sell it at Jackson's.
Starting point is 00:39:39 So we sell it at our bar. You can get as an appetizer. You can take it home. We're not shipping or anything right now, but it is exclusively at Jackson's Studio City. Unless you live in Kentucky, then my mom will supply it herself. She's, you know, she supplies it around like Winchester, where I'm from, and local areas. But yeah, for sure it's at Jackson's 100%.
Starting point is 00:40:00 So come get some if you come to LA. It's served with a delicious hot pretzel and vegetables. It's really good. Yeah, it's so good Okay, here is another question. It is From 80 underscore of Val underscore junior. How can you ask for help with the wedding when you're not used to asking for help? I need help Wow, is this is who's this? Well, yeah, just how do you ask for help from for a wedding? Who are you trying to ask help on your parents or a wedding planner this is who's this? Yeah. Just how do you ask for, um, help from, for a wedding?
Starting point is 00:40:26 Who are you trying to ask help on your parents or a wedding planner? Your friends, who depends who that's just what the question is. Oh, well, this is a wedding and it's, it's probably going to, it's, it's, it's your wedding. You want to have a little help. I know it's hard. I say just because I swallow your pride. Yeah. So all your pride and go for it because it is that's one of my issues is like, I cannot accept help from people. Like even if I tell Jacks to do something, I still feel like it's not done the right way.
Starting point is 00:40:49 And I feel like I had to do it myself. Like, you know what I mean? Like, I feel like a lot of people are like that where they want help, but then they like still want to do it themselves. You know, I don't mean it like you're not doing it the right way. No, no, no, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:40:59 I'm thinking of a scene on Friends right now where Monica asked Chandler, what flowers should we like? And he goes, oh, I like the roses. She's like, no, no, no, what flowers do you like? He's like, I mean, I like the lilies. She's like, right. Yeah. Like that's how I kind of like how I could be about things too. So I think, yeah, just suck up your pride and go for it. Let them know that you need help. And you know, this is the biggest day of your life. And I'm sure if it's your family, they're going to want to help you out anyway. Yeah. If you want as many ideas as possible, there's probably something that maybe you
Starting point is 00:41:26 didn't think of that maybe somebody else did. So just, yeah, get all as much help as you can. Yeah. Then you can go back to not asking anybody. Another question, this is from O. Suley, favorite time of the day with Cruz. My favorite is picking him up from school because he always gets so excited or when he first wakes up and he like run into the room and he is like wide awake and so happy and jumping up and down in his bed and stuff and just just the biggest
Starting point is 00:41:53 smile on his face and the biggest hugs and kisses he kisses all over me and I love it yeah he does full make out sessions with his mom he just loves he grabs her head and gives her the longest kisses. He just loves kissing his mama. He's so sweet. My favorite time is like when he wakes up. When he first wakes up, he's the cutest thing in the world when he wakes up. For the first like 10, 15 minutes, he doesn't really know where he is and he just wants to cuddle off.
Starting point is 00:42:16 It's the sweetest thing in the world. Again, we want to say thank you for everybody reaching out and thinking about us. We really appreciate the support. We love you guys and we're going to go head to Comic Con. And hopefully I don't drive pretty crazy. True that next week. We'll let you guys know all about our weekend, but we love you. Thank you so much for listening to when reality hits. Bye guys.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Have a great week.
