We create our podcast all over and stand on the land of many indigenous tribes, Hearts off! So there are people who are videoing in from all over the US to do this show. So they have your five main hosts here, and then they bring on two guests who come on, and this woman, Jen, again, tons of credits has been on stage in front of lots of people many times. She seems very nervous here for some reason.

Jen, I know you guys actually met doing theater. We did. We love a love story, could you tell us a little bit about that? We met doing theater. We did. We love a love story. So let's figure out what the show format is of this show, because this has to be the most tri-hardy, tri-hard show. We've ever reviewed on these podcasts. You're gonna hear all about it, but the level of effort that goes into this, these come out like once a month or not even. Yeah. They're spaced out quite a bit. Yeah, the one I listened to was several months back.

Right. And there's a reason for that. Here's the deal. Our four players will improvise their way through a fantasy style role-playing game of my making. After we record, we add sound effects, underscoring. FULL FLITZ MUSICAL NUMBERS And special guest voices. U-B! And boom! There you have an episode. Sound good?

Sounds great. Always does. I can still suspect I've, but I'm in. Thank you, Steve. Then let's play Mythic Thunderloot! Okay. So they're very excited about this. You're going to hear them playing D&D, but there's going to be sound effects and music and musical numbers, show tunes that they write.

The guy who runs the show plays guitar, and he won't shut up about it. So that's why it's called Mythical Thunder Loot, because he places guitar. He plays his guitar. Shut the fuck up. We were all thinking of it. So it's Mythical Thunder Loot because this guy has to whip out his guitar

and rock out all the time. At least you don't do that. During that, yeah. I know, but during like the D&D game, as I have now, did you hear that at the end the guy goes, sounds great. Yeah, I did. I noticed that.

I'm like, that's like an audio separated at birth with Pat and I's Walt. That was great. That was really great. That was really great. It's perfect. That was really great. That was really great.

What note is the word great? Cause it's apparently a note. I have no idea. Should I look it up actually? Now I think about it. So actually you were touching on the trihardiness of this. And I can tell you in the 10 minutes of effort that I put into listen to an episode.

I went through the whole arc where I was like at first, oh it's not just nerds and abasement, there's some production. Right. And then I was excited. And then seven minutes in, I'm like, I would rather listen to the worst independent podcast. Yes.

No production. Yeah, because it's, it's, try hardy. Yeah, I guess it's the right word for it. Because it's douche chili, I'm going to start playing one of the musical numbers that comes in on this show. If you don't stop fighting, I'll turn it up to T. No, you won't. So, Edgar, would you say that the intention of the song is to intimidate them?

Yeah, I think maybe. I think if that was his purpose, Joe Costa would keep interjecting with like stuff to like deescalate the things he's saying. Great. This episode could be hard to listen to. I'm not a nerd. The lyrics right there.

But basically what's happening guys, in this D&D scenario, there are gnomes and halflings and dwarves all fighting. And they're like, well, your mission is to get to the stop fighting. And so the guys like, well, I'll play guitar. And then I'll get to the stop fighting. Okay, what number did they roll in and die for that to be a real thing?

I'm not even sure But this musical number goes out and on It's like I love his voice. Yeah. The truth is, if you play nice, then you don't need to sacrifice. I think you'll want to be all so pleased we had. Who invited Victoria Jackson? The rage I feel is rising to a point I can't confirm. I agree. If we know that your belonging will spare speak your soul If you don't leave Okay, I don't know, this is because I don't know.

These are full-blown musical numbers. Yeah, it's showtos. It's fucking insane. They called it. And the craziest part is that, and again, a lot of effort goes into the show. I'm not even sure how they pull all this together. It's impressive to be honest with you.

If it weren't so difficult to listen to, I'd be impressed with that. But this is them as they're singing these numbers, they're still playing the game. Oh, now what I do know is that they do the whole role play thing. And then afterwards they write musical numbers about what happened in the game to splice in and post. But they added it in so that they're still rolling dice during the singing. And I know that you should all the bad. It got roll intimidation and jocasta roll charisma. Oh shit.

18. Oh, I got a 15. So what are you saying? They put in a middle eight to do that in live, and then you have this much time, and I think we're back into the numbers. Well, no, I think what they're doing is they're playing the game. And then afterwards, they write a song about what happens as they're rolling the dice.

Okay. So the song is written, and then they splice in the audio of them rolling the dice into the side. It really makes it exciting. They're doing Broadway, where they pepper in some dialogue. And one of the things that theater nerds like to do is accents. So this is like a D&D thing. And so you would think like D&D would be like, I don't know, medieval times, European. I don't know why I think that.

However, a wizard talks. Yeah. Right. But this is all over the fucking plays. Surreyden Brock says, King Cyrus' Karen can wait. We must go and protect your people. Let's go.

As you start to leave, Mayor Wimzley calls out and should you succeed in pushing my people out of your festity send them toa the meadows I can rendezvous with them there and get the heads right I'm so sorry my friends okay it's it's it's jerry it's almost like Star Wars like this guy's British this guy's Irish this guy's American Why there's a taxi driver? Yeah, what's going on right now? I was everyone speaking so differently. I thought we were like one place But apparently it's all over the place

This is another example of just lots of different voices coming in. It's very confusing if I was trying to follow this And I wasn't trying very hard. I wasn't writing notes down about who was doing what but I was trying to follow this. This would be difficult Wait a minute. Where's your stepmother? Were you not following her? Fuck we gotta find autumn. Yeah, we gotta go help my dad. I'm with pug face. Do what you gotta do. Okay, kid We'll catch up with you later. I guess. It's so bizarre. It seems like a labor of hate for me, wouldn't they? All right, so let me explain what's going on here. They decide that they have to get going from wherever they are. You know, it just kind of picks up at the middle of a story, obviously. And I like that all the characters have to agree on what they're going to do next.

Well, we got to go. Listen, we can't delay. Last time we delayed it, caused somebody that life that caught this, this whole situation are fault. Oldenwood, we haven't in time to waste. Yeah, we got to get out of here. You take off once more, heading south as you race through the dense red fog. All right. So you hear them, they go, we should go. Yeah, we gotta get out of here. energy level and everything it's like they they asked everyone like can you guys can you do a voice yeah I can do a voice all right cool come to party yeah just it's just every kind of voice too much there wasn't a potato, tried to fight a dwarf in there. What do with that? It's out like, I'm not doing D&D in front of you. I will not lower myself. Let's redraw the line.

I tried. I sure did try. All right, so at this point, some retard runs into a burning house wearing her magic dragon armor, which allows her to not only not get burned, but also she can breathe smoke for some reason. Again. But yeah, that'll just not. But then once she gets in, she has to save these people. And she has this amazing army to build stuff. but you still have to roll a die to see

if you could pick up the person that you're trying to see. You charged through the fire and you can feel the magic of the dragon god, Perrin, flow from your Ruby armor and encompass your body. You were not burned at all and once inside, you can miraculously breathe despite the smoke. You see Frank and Mary lying right in front of you. What do you do?

I'm gonna try to pick them up. I'll pick up mom first. Give me a strength check to pick up Mary. The two. Look here. You look nice. You look with all your might and you're just kind of like and you're unable to live Mary from the ground. Kevin, do you ever play D&D growing up? I did not. But you know, to look at me, you would think yes.

Yeah, but no. I grew up with you and I thought you did. So, was that how it is? No, I most definitely did not play D&D. Okay, so I understand the rules to this game at all because what happens here is she goes in with her magic armor and she's gonna save the day. She's like, I'm gonna pick up mom first

and then like, I roll a two, I can't do it. So guess what she does next? Rolls again. Oh, and then she has to know for this, she she can pick her up. Like, okay, what was the point of this? That's the girls rule. Is that a T ball? Trinket. There's no outs in this game. Everyone gets in that bad. Okay. If you say so, it's got to weird. But I guess that's how the game is playing. Alright, so they, they save

this guy's parents. And now we have brand new over-the-top voices to participate in this. They immediately get up and embrace you, family. Oh my God, kid, we were dying in bed. Ross, go, where you been, honey? I've been knocking on your door every day and seeing you away You know, it's crazy. I was really upset until you both opened your mouths

This is dingy It's kind of funny. But if they do edit the shit out of it, why don't they edit out everyone breaking and cracking themselves over to their party?

All right, so one of the first things they have to do, and I mentioned this before, is they have to stop these things from fighting each other. So I think it's because they're theater nerds that they have to use the power of their charisma.

I don't think that's a normal D&D thing to get people to stop fighting. The power to ham. It's gonna be so charismatic. Everyone looks at you like, whoa, I want to watch what this person's doing now So you've captured everyone but that group of 12 nooms that are brawling can I try again with them great? Yeah, do it Well, you got to do the thing over all right. Yeah, I roll yeah the vines spring forth once more and you capture the 12 nooms in your vines Now that they're all captured. I think that she would be like listen to me Now that they're all captured I think that she would be like listen to me Violence is not the answer you must stop this right now. Give me a charisma roll for that Not as charismatic as I would like she sure seems it

This role says otherwise it's a three. Oh, you not charismatic So she wrote a three So she wasn't charismatic enough to get them to stop fighting. At for a minute, I thought somebody was actually doing Michael Rapin-Port's voice because one of the characters. Yeah, I know it's, I'm sorry, I put in some drops here.

It's hard to rock and silo. It's going on. It blended so well. So later on, this is 25 minutes later, charisma has needed again to save the days. Yeah, it should be a show. Oh, now listen here, I'm not gonna let y'all go until you agree to leave here in peace

I don't know, maybe you guys play D&D or Advancing and D out there. We know if this happens normally. The guy shows up with a guitar and Slays all the bad guys. I don't know. Do you boys like rock and roll? Any less ridiculous than some of these D&D rules anyway? No, I guess not. No, it's not. It's a good point. Do you boys like rock and roll? What? They're so earnest. They're so into it, too. No one's half-assing this performance. It's like a wall of sound. There's like, there's no wasted. There's no dead air at all. No, no. Constantly filled with bullshit. It's a lot. There's a lot going on here. I like to talk about how much work we put into

where these podcasts. I've got it close. Nothing by comparison. Yeah, I mean, I get a couple of song parodies that for listeners. Yeah, I show up and drink. Yeah, that's a fun. Oh, that's a bad. He just said, look who's in the restaurant, right? He doesn't say anything during the video. So it's up for the viewers to decide,

like what is he talking about? So that's kind of how you know that this is what he's going for is people be like, whoa, is that Opie? What's going on? Did you talk? Did you go and say hi to him, whatever? Well, Opie saw this very differently

than the rest of us. He saw this as an act of aggression. Oh, I'm Anthony's part. And actually, Ernie has a conspiracy about it. We're not in the gate. As soon as he starts reacting to it, he's got this elaborate conspiracy, you want us to tell us. This is what makes it so creepy.
