Who Are These Podcasts? - Ep98 - Hindsight is 30-30

Episode Date: March 18, 2018

The boys are back after a brief hiatus, during which nothing at all happened concerning the show. We discuss two guys discussing The New Adventures of He-Man. The architects of the internet should be ...proud.  Joe comes on the show along with his more famous brother Andy. Even though it appears the Hindsight boys will be hanging it up, we offer many constructive ideas on how they might improve their show. Ideas like, "editing." It's pretty groundbreaking! Don't forget to give us a five star review on iTunes if you haven't already. We now have a league-leading 157 one star reviews, so we don't need anymore of those. Starting point is 00:00:00 What if we do a podcast where we listen to other podcasts and then just just talk shit about them? It's showtime I guess all of this Think there's really just a handful that don't suck That's where we come in As if you like all over the man there and Joe W-A-T-P W-A-T-P

Starting point is 00:01:07 WHOHTP. WHOHTP. WHOHTP. WHOHTP. WHOHTP. WHOHTP. WHOHTP. WHOHTP.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Hello and welcome to another episode of Who Are These Podcasts. The only show that doesn't try to sell you shitty merchandise. I'm your host, Carl. With me, as always, is Andy's brother Joe. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, show the slightest bit entertaining, don't forget to give us a positive five-star review on iTunes. We need a lot of them. Today we'll be reviewing a podcast called Hindsight is 3030. This is a suggestion from the co-host of the show that got everybody. Everybody got that?
Starting point is 00:01:57 This show asks us to review their show. Okay. All right. If you're good about that, I'm not good. Joe and I have both listened to the show separately. We have not discussed it with each other beforehand. Let's get into it. I want to mention that Andy is also hanging out with us. Hey, Andy. What up?
Starting point is 00:02:15 Andy, since we sound the same, you're going to have to talk like your skeleton. Yes. Nobody else can be. Only talk about skeleton impressions. Or his other accent. One hit. So nobody else can be who only talk to us against our impressions. Or his other name, I don't know. So I want to mention that we have new policies
Starting point is 00:02:30 on the show now. There are certain things that are off limits, anything that people might find offensive. If you do happen to say something, that people will find offensive. I will bleep it out. So if you hear that, it's because Joe and Andy are out of control.
Starting point is 00:02:44 All right, so just keep that in mind as you're listening to the show. I have decided to take a bit of a different tact with the way we do this. Great. Because I take Kevin's kind of, uh, tact with this. Is there a show prep? I try. No, I have a ton of prep, but, um, I'm going to be trying to help. Oh, okay. Yeah. It's construction 30 constructive criticism.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Basically, I'm doing the, this is, I'm going to do your job better than you did it. Okay. That's my new, I think maybe we should go back to some of the other podcasts and just do their job better for them. Well, here's the thing. We listen to hindsight is 30, 30 number 149 the new adventures of he man The premise of the show is that these guys go back to things they liked when they were younger in order to see if it still holds up Is it doose chili is it still decent? They want to go back and check it out. Here's my problem with this car
Starting point is 00:03:39 Yeah, nobody ever liked this show. Well, it's even worse than that Because the premise of this show makes zero sense when you hear this part. So yeah, I never watched this show growing up. I didn't know it existed until the internet showed me. So they have episode 149. They've run out of shit to review from what they remember. They literally say, I didn't know this show existed.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Let's go back and see if it's good. Of course, it's not gonna be good. You're an adult. It's a show made for seven year olds are calling out plot holes all over the place. Oh, really you think the new dimensions of a human have a plot hole? Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:04:14 No shit. Yeah, so, so it wasn't like what some things talk, but this is who we're dealing with. My clip 20. All right. It's mostly dead. I'm not quite dead. Be quiet.
Starting point is 00:04:29 I was also making a Princess bride reference. Oh, I'm thinking minding Python, calling that. Yeah. That too. The similar enough. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:38 So these are the guys that we're going to be listening to here. Is that like member berries. Remember, he man new adventures, I'm Emma. Yeah, so I guess what you're trying to say is that these guys are kind of nerds. There is a discussion about time travel. But I found particularly nerdy.
Starting point is 00:05:01 So, Carl, what I did here, the reason I have so many clips, yes, you have a lot of clips. Is because, and once again, how do I do your job better for you? They have no clips of the fucking show. That's true. I went and watched the episode pulled clips. Oh, thank you.
Starting point is 00:05:19 I always have the same fucking fit. Well, instead of explaining the show, and I was like, well, I gotta check this thing out. It's not new. I'm glad this show exists, because I always wanted to watch the updated version of the He-Man cartoon. You did? But I didn't want to actually watch it.
Starting point is 00:05:35 I wanted it explained to me like a shitty bedtime story. Oh, my gosh. It's fucking, it's just these two guys explaining the fucking show for 40 minutes. They're explaining a 20 minute show for 40 minutes Right, and I actually put a note down on here. I thought they were gonna be Offering up their own opinions on it. They do a little bit, but for the most part They're telling you seen for scene what happened in the show. Yeah, is it they're watching it writing down notes
Starting point is 00:05:59 It reminds me that GI Joe episode we did like way back of the day with Kevin Yeah, we're this guy's like, oh, sweet, it's Joe Bros or something or GI Bro. I don't know, I don't know about the name of the show, but we're excited about it because, oh, sweet, this guy's listening there talking about GI Joe and he just explains the episode. I could have just watched the fucking episode.
Starting point is 00:06:18 If that's not what I was interested in doing. So can I get back to my time travel, discuss it real quick? Oh, yeah, please. Cause you kind of got me off of the promise that I think Joe started off with. These guys are a little bit on the nerdy side. And you can really tell when he starts arguing
Starting point is 00:06:33 about how time travel would work. Really, if you think about it, if you were to go back in time, then you should be in a fixed point and time goes backwards. But because we're constantly orbiting around the sun, whenever your time machine came out, oh, it's time, came out of the time stream, however you wanna do it, you would,
Starting point is 00:06:53 if you stayed in the same place, the earth would not be underneath you and you would die immediately. NERTS! A bunch of god damn nerds. Let's get those nerds! NERTS! NERTS!
Starting point is 00:07:04 I could literally hear the guy pushing up his glasses as he was explaining that. I mean you see the thing about a time travel that's ridiculous is the fact that they heard the fact that they were moving. Slide whistle noise. So up in the post that's why. So I didn't know like we're jumping right to that. Do we need to f***ing eat? Jesus, Joe. What do they say, man?
Starting point is 00:07:24 Do we cry? Do we need to explain? Oh my? What do they say, man? Oh, we cry. Do we need to explain? Oh my God, again, that's ridiculous. That's not, that's something to not joke, okay? It's not funny, in any way. Do we need to explain to people like what he man is and do we even have to bother with it? Definitely not.
Starting point is 00:07:40 They should change the name of this show to who gives a fuck with this guy in that guy. It's a shit who gives a fuck. That would be a good day for the show. I would actually definitely doubt that. Okay, so two of my clips are basically this show. You're gonna explain what he meant. No, no, no, no, no, no. But I did, I pulled, so the thing about cartoons when you were a kid is, is, you know, it's a half hour show.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Yeah. The first minute is them explaining the whole thing to a five year old, because a five year old can't remember what happened yesterday and today. So they explain the whole show at the beginning. What did happen yesterday? So, and then, because this is the first episode of this He-Man thing.
Starting point is 00:08:19 So then, so they spend 40 minutes explaining this all to you. The show does it in two minutes. In this, the new adventures of he man They take he man from the classic good Quote unquote the good version of it because they both suck And they take him off of attorney and now they drop him on to the planet primus Yeah, I noticed that yeah, so Of course you think primus know, certain things come up.
Starting point is 00:08:46 Play by Clip 3. All right. Remember, the fate of Primus depends upon your success. You can be a queen. Come along, but if we can bring a friend, his name is... Hema! I had to put in that context, it makes perfect sense. I had to get that in there because that might come up again for the rest of the show. Well, since you did that, I might as well,
Starting point is 00:09:25 because terrible minds think of why. You knew this would happen. You knew this would happen. They talk about the plan of the premise non-stop, and I'm fucking triggered all over the place by this. So of course, I put together this cop. They're on the planet primus. So there are these people on this planet called Primus.
Starting point is 00:09:50 We find out Eternia and Primus are the same. Yes, so he can conquer Primus. And the... Man, like you wanted to feed primus I wanted inside what I Got to assume that 80% of the people listening to this podcast don't know who he man or primuses 80% so eight people don't know Or he man is that's a problem. All the social justice watch dogs They're like how long do I have to listen before it gets to the good stuff?
Starting point is 00:10:29 So, as always, I think I say this every time I'm on the show. I started listening to this, and I'm like, you do say it every time you're on the show. I'm like, stop it. So I kind of, I started, I'm like, I don't know what I'm gonna do with this. I'm like, these guys are trying to put together a show.
Starting point is 00:10:47 You know, I don't know how long they've been doing it. Oh, 149, right? This was episode 149 for them. So they've exhausted their material. The one guy is going on hiatus because he's sick of doing this. Correct. And he's sick of doing it piss poor, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:11:00 I wanted to like him. That's why I went and I pulled all clips from the he-man thing because they never played anything. So I'll pull a lot of clips from the he-man thing because they never played anything. So I'll pull that a clips from the show. Okay. The host's names, by the way. The host's names are, good call.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Jason and Math. And which is the guy that does the skeleton impression? Is he the guy that's leaving? Oh, I can't tell the two apart. The guy that does the skeleton impression should do the skeleton impression. The whole show. You mean this one?
Starting point is 00:11:23 He's not a total idiot in this. He looks goofy, he doesn't, he sounds silly. And a silly skeleton did in the original series. He's so cool. Yeah, that was a pretty good skeleton impression. I know. You should have done the whole show like Playback and Griggs. Playback and Griggs.
Starting point is 00:11:40 You got an original skeleton. Is the skeleton saying a private song? A better B? Cos if it's not. Because you are a whip scientist, and you could be a whip villain. It's the sorceress you boom. They should call you Wimp Lash.
Starting point is 00:11:54 You metal-munching moron. You pathetic, hair-up, pitiful, thinheads. You tin-tongued, adult, half-wits. Bunkers! Bring less mediates right. E. Whoa! Tung Don't have it! Bunkers! Brainless idiots right! Eeeee! Whoa! You fleet bitten her brain!
Starting point is 00:12:10 I could write a book about what you don't know. You worthless hunk of fur! Gallator king randor! Skeletor king randor! Come in you royal boob! You know what? I wish I was writing for a TV show made for seven year olds, because you could just repeat jokes you've heard all your life.
Starting point is 00:12:30 And this kid is the first time I've ever heard it. That's not even fair. So my other problem with this is I found this to be really annoying because they clearly watch this show. And these cartoons where I'll they're all-hour commercials to sell toys, right? Right. And so then my clip 4, they have the balls to say this. The scuba guy and the flight guy, I forget their names. You forget their names. The whole point is that you're going to run out and buy these toys, play by clip 5. This is the cartoon. Garden Flip Shot.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Captain Hydra, Sabria needs to see you in Flip Shot at once. Oh, what? Don't tell me you're scared, Flip Shot. I applaud your courage, Captain Hydra, and Flip Shot. Hello there, Big Malon. We're Hydra on in Flip Shot. Take an easy Flip Shot. Ask your mom for Hydra on in Flip Shot shot. I wonder I can't remember their names. Are you kidding?
Starting point is 00:13:29 Be you over the head with the whole fucking point in the show is to sell you toys You want to go buy flip shot? All right, so it's interesting that you say that so how many flip shots did you order? I know I have five flip shots the way these guys do their show is they have like an intro part where they talk about here's a thing that we're going to be looking back at to see if it still holds up. And then after that, they for some reason take a break and then come back having watched the show. This is what this is. We're going to watch said episode.
Starting point is 00:14:00 And we're going to let you know if it's still. How's up. There you go. That's still holds up. Oh, there you go. That was more in keeping with you, man. We'll be back. And we are back. We got done watching episode one, a new beginning. Okay. Why would they just start the show having watched your show?
Starting point is 00:14:24 What is the reason for that? All right, let's talk about what we're gonna do, and then we'll go do it, and then we'll come back and talk about it. Why? Why you could have just shown up and been like, we just watched this show, but here's what we think about it.
Starting point is 00:14:35 Could you imagine if Hot and the Skip made shows up with a theater full of people that are like, we watched this crazy movie, but not yet, we're gonna go watch it in the back. We'll be back out, you guys hang out for a second. What would probably love that? Feel pride, what would probably love that. Guys, I'll be right back, I're gonna go watch it the back. We'll be back out. You guys hang out for a second. Who would probably love that? Feel probably, we'll go out. Guys, I'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:14:48 I'm gonna go watch a teenage episode. So, the other thing about that. And the back. The other thing about that, and I cut it, but before that clip, they say, we're gonna watch an episode at random of this, because they've never seen the show before. They don't remember it from childhood.
Starting point is 00:15:02 We're gonna watch an episode at random, and then they come back and they're like, we watched the first episode. At random, you watched episode number one. This is fucking making a sense. It's not random at all. It's not random at all. We're gonna watch it at random numerical order.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Okay. And then I just wanna point out, they have these things in the show and I'm gonna ask you both to try to hold back from talking when you think that my clip is done at any point There's so many long pregnant pauses for no reason I cut them out of all my clips. Oh, why that's the best part It's so stupid I could have taken it so stupid. Why would they do that? It would be 40 minutes or 40 seconds long I didn't I 40 minutes would have been a fun your exacting it. I'll put that in both say 40 minutes again 40 minutes
Starting point is 00:15:42 Perfect got it. All right, so listen. This is that clip. I just played just the pause part. We'll be back And we are back I don't know in these I also have that in so I can figure out the noise never refrigerators making it pull that out figure out the noise that refrigerators making and pull that out. That's the right. Alright, fucking loud as refrigerator of the world over here. I'm kind of jumping all the way. Go ahead, go ahead, let's go, let's go. It's very unlikely.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Yeah, play my clip 15. Alright. When you have stupid villains and very basic good versus evil storytelling, it's hard to make that interesting. But these guys go on and on trying to make it as interesting as they can possibly, things that never even, what do they say? He made travels back and time through a time hole. Okay, not these guys. They're going to go on and on about time travel and whatever the fuck they're doing. Play like 17, my clip 17. Well, actually your first assumption makes sense, assuming that their time travel ignores gravity, because really, if you think about it, if you were to go back in time, then you should be in a
Starting point is 00:16:57 fixed point and time goes backwards, but because we're constantly orbiting around the sun, whenever your time machine came out of its time diet, came out of the time stream, however you wanna do it, you would even give it a try. I mean, you see where I'm going. This is the whole thing. They're concerned that this cartoon show made for seven-year-old doesn't keep your attention,
Starting point is 00:17:17 and then they go out of that about the theory of time travel. If I get idiots. You know, you mentioned Joe that the host wrote into me and said, we're going to go on hiatus. I just can't do this anymore. His heart's not in it. And right at the very beginning of the show, this is evident.
Starting point is 00:17:34 I have, I don't even care anymore. He says that after three and a half, this is the email that he sent to me when he told us to listen to the show I think I read this on our last podcast that was like a fucking million years ago Hey for three and a half years of watching old stuff once a week. I'm burnt out. Yeah, I could see that Yeah, I watched one episode of the dude vegetable he met and I'm burnt out I shall blog I watched the first seven minutes of the dude eventually he man I didn't even get to where he man was introduced to the fucking story. I couldn't even get that far I tried. Yeah, I know a he-man. I didn't even get to where he-man was introduced to the fucking story.
Starting point is 00:18:05 I couldn't even get there far. I tried, Joe. I know the shit to do. I couldn't do it. The one thing that these guys don't do, we talk about the pregnant pauses. They don't seem to edit the show at all in any way. There's so many opportunities to do it. This is a track that it's perfect for editing. You could actually make a seam like you had a coherent thought and were paying attention to what you were doing. Wait a minute. Prince Adam is also on this planet for some reason
Starting point is 00:18:34 and so it's he, man. Wait a minute. You could hear the gears turning in his head. After he said, wait a minute, I'm like, what am I gonna, what's the joke? What's the joke gonna be? I told you, Joe. I told you what's the joke, what's the joke gonna be? I told you, no joke. I told you that I edited the pregnant pauses out of it to shorten the clips and they,
Starting point is 00:18:51 they run together, you wouldn't even know that I took the things out. All right. It's easily up. I think probably play, play by a 13 and like, there's probably a ton in there and I took them out. When he gets on primus, he doesn't say by the power of grayschool, he says by the power of Eternia. He's calling on a much larger thing, the whole planet, which still ostensibly exists in the future. So through time, he must be able to draw that power. Or from the present,
Starting point is 00:19:22 he must be able to draw that power, but use the planet itself as an amplifier to reach across the cosmos. So that's what we were saying. God, I was passing out and listening to that. Another good example of the pause, but I do want to point something out and Joe, you pride yourself on your prep work and I do give you credit, you do a lot of work but that was also her own of the rocks you're the same fucking primus song twice I had four primus songs in my primus count I didn't want primus song you should you should put you should take all the pregnant pauses and fill them in with primus songs that's a good idea that would make the show listenable yeah I. I have, we were talking about the Skeletor impression being pretty good.
Starting point is 00:20:06 All of the other impressions are terrible. Oh, yeah. This is, I don't even know if I need to introduce this. I think you'll understand. You know, I think you'll understand what you're trying to do here. Everyone needs a boogie man number one and number two. They were working on the time machine. There are no such thing as mutants.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Those Kim Trails are actually just a government using fear to motivate the people to keep them scared and paying their taxes. The spirit of primus will rise again, Pierce. He meant tones. He felt a need to tag it as if we didn't all know what he was doing. He meant tones, right? It's so bad he had to tell. He had to take it.
Starting point is 00:20:46 He even said peers, because of the peers Morgan interview that's very famous. Again, we got it. You don't have to tag it. But you'll notice that the other guy laughed. So a couple of seconds later, he has to cover right back to it, right back to the Alex Jones, well.
Starting point is 00:21:00 We have their documents in the white papers. They talk about having time travel for a hundred years and Yeah, they haven't but I want to keep dying Okay, so sorry. I'm sorry, so I love that the one thing that definitely should apologize The one thing I want to give these guys credit for is they don't do the thing that most podcasters do that we do Where you have this uncomfortable laughter filling all the space and someone goes for something like this and then we all just kind of giggle and move on. At least the other guy goes,
Starting point is 00:21:33 I can pitch up shaking his head. I really went back to the terrible Alex Jones impression. Sorry, I got to do Alex Jones impression on this show and it's low hanging fruit at this point. Low hanging fruit. Joe, I went ahead and decided I've never seen the new adventures of He-Man. That's not a good representation of what this show could be. So I went back to episode 99, December 30th, 2016, where they reviewed Bill and Ted's
Starting point is 00:22:02 excellent adventure. I'm a fan of that movie. I'm sure they are too. I wanted to go back and check it out. Let me just tell you that there are more terrible impressions going on. This clip right here is terrible for a couple of reasons that I'll point out. That would have been interesting.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Actually, before I say that, before I go into that, the clip before kind of leads into it, This guy just gets tongue-tied trying to explain that George Carlin's in this movie. George Carlin apparently was originally supposed to be played by George Carlin, George Carlin, not hardcore history. George Carlin was originally character Rufus was originally supposed to be Sean Connery. Oh, oh, oh. Epic fail. Again, easily admirable in both. But so he's explaining that Sean Connery was supposed
Starting point is 00:22:50 to be cast as Rufus. That would have sucked. And this is how this guy takes that, Rosar. That would have been interesting. Yeah. Hardly on wait. First of all, first of all, that's not Sean Connery. Secondly, Harry had Wayne wrong movie.
Starting point is 00:23:11 And everybody knows if you're gonna do Sean Connery, you start by going, Poo-Shi. Everyone does that. So Wayne was in Bill and Ted's, actually. So then, so then someone brings up putting something and of course the other guy has to make the Bill Cosby impression. And again props are not fake laughing here. Listen to the silence.
Starting point is 00:23:33 All right, they go back into the past like into one million BC and use chewing gum and putting tins, which is where the power up in the NES game comes around. And they patch together and fix the antenna and and and and and
Starting point is 00:24:00 and and You don't leave that in. Yep. That's to be clear, we're laughing because the other guy didn't find the bad impression funny. Now, because the impression was funny. I do love that. I do appreciate that quite a bit because I don't hear any other podcasts. There's just a lot of things die like that. That was the best thing about Obi-Wanthony. Duggan Anthony doing it.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Well, yeah. Well, I think it's die-castic. Wow, are you kidding me? Anthony fucking cracks up. Like he's gonna spit up a long and every fucking Joke the duck tells you have the courtesy to pretend that I'm funny, please yeah, right They started off the show for Bill and Ted's so cringey. It's so douche-chilling That's right folks this week. We are watching Bill and Ted's excellent adventure
Starting point is 00:24:50 Wildstayans are all that's right this movie is about Ted theodore Logan and Bill as pression asquire All right, so you hear that and you're already tuned out like off fuck But as I said I wanted to listen to it Because I like boontads and I wanted to see what they would do with it. Guess what they did. Jill see if you could guess They said we'll be right back ready to watch the movie Then they came back and explained every fucking scene from the movie
Starting point is 00:25:20 So why would I need a podcast to tell me what happened to Billatex on the adventure? It's a movie from that's 89. I've seen it. So that was a four hour podcast because it took them 40 minutes. It was a lot longer. It was a lot longer. It was a lot longer. A lot longer.
Starting point is 00:25:34 Especially when they get to explaining how time travel works. Oh my god. They go into that again. They go into the whole fucking thing about time travel. And they were going to use a van, but then they didn't use a van. It's like, all right, whatever. The other thing that's hilarious and you guys are finding this funny because you guys are both pop culture nerds.
Starting point is 00:25:50 You're on top of the shit with who's in movies and what's going on. You would think these guys, being the nerds they are, would have a better grasp of casting them this. Bill and Ted three. Would I hope? Let me set this up. They're talking about how they're trying to get Bill and Ted three. Would I hope we set this up? They're talking about how they're trying to get Bill and Ted three made. Yeah. Okay. Do you guys know about this?
Starting point is 00:26:09 The script written. Okay. So let's talk about all that. Then this happens. Bill and Ted three. What I hope is that John Wick two is successful in the box office and that gives that gives counter Reeves the money and cloud to say, can I just make my sci-fi not really stoner, but he was in John Wick. Kiana Reeves. He's the main character in John Wick. Are you sure? Because I thought John Wick was someone else. No, dude. John Wick is Kiana Reeves. That is why I went to see the movie with my wife because my wife has a crush on Kiana Reeves. Saw him on the poster and said, let's go see this movie.
Starting point is 00:26:42 All right. So it sounds like he must be joking. The most egregious thing is that that guy's married. So it sounds like he must be joking. But listen to this, I pick up right from where we left off there. This next clip is the guy looking on his phone to double check whether John likes to cut on his back. And there's a printed pause and they have to listen to this. It's amazing. So I'll him on the poster and said let's go see and they have to listen to this. It's amazing. I saw him on the poster and said, let's go see this movie. Look at the microphone while you type on your phone because when you say something, I won't
Starting point is 00:27:12 be able to hear it. No, I was looking down. I was going to raise my head when I looked. Okay. Yes. I did not realize that. What did you think it was? We have to listen to these guys.
Starting point is 00:27:23 I have a fucking stupid. Okay, yes, my bad. I did not realize. What did you think it was? We have to listen to these guys have a fucking stupid debate about who started John Wick. Nobody knows who Alex winner is. Everyone knows who Kenner Reeves is. Guess who you fucking this up? Guess who he thought it was. Who started John Wick? It comes out after this conversation. Nicholas Cage. Yes. Oh, you know that. It comes out after this conversation. Nicholas Cage. Yes!
Starting point is 00:27:46 Oh, you know that! Holy shit, that's amazing. Yeah. Holy, because I know nerds. Well, it's funny too, because he doesn't even know Nicholas Cage's name. He goes, the father from Kickass. You guys are like,
Starting point is 00:27:59 Nicholas Cage? Yeah, the classic Nicholas Cage. Yeah, that's how you know Nicholas Cage. That's how you know Nicholas Cage. That's a popular movie. That's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know
Starting point is 00:28:08 Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know
Starting point is 00:28:16 Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know
Starting point is 00:28:24 Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know Bigness, that's how you know, I started saying that we're gonna do their job better for them. These guys are clearly. We haven't done that in a while. They don't, we're geared up for it.
Starting point is 00:28:29 They don't have the ability to edit, right? They don't have any type of editing software. I've noticed that. It's paused. It's not paused, it's not. It's not editing. Right, we paused and then we started, okay, we're back, after we watched it.
Starting point is 00:28:41 And now we're just gonna go and leave everything in. And so, guys, editing software is not too expensive. You can get a robust program for under $170. Oh, I stole mine, it was zero. Yeah, yeah, if you're a criminal, you're the key speaker. Right, I mean, just get, this is my advice to everybody,
Starting point is 00:29:03 just get some editing software. They have editing software, Joe. Yeah. They have it. And I just don't care. Can I prove that they do? Well, yeah, please. All right, so this is them.
Starting point is 00:29:12 This is part of the Bill and Tense thing. The guy goes off-mic. And it's like talking to the wall. And then they talked about whether or not they're going to edit that part out or not. Listen to this. And if you don't know, well, too bad. We're not explaining that.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Keep them in that because the, uh, And if you don't know well too bad we're not explaining that Crisis averted yeah, are we editing this out or relieving it in? We editing out or leaving in we're leaving it in because I don't feel like editing anything but the coughs Okay, I read that left in He doesn't have anything but the cough fucking kidding. Let me zoom in on the clip that I just played there are coughs Listen to this crisis of bird crisis ofverted. Yeah, are we editing this out? He's obviously coughing you could have easily edited that out He even asked should we edit this out? Yes! Yes!
Starting point is 00:30:08 Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes Jesus show will do your editing for you. Yeah, forget it's not hard unfortunately these guys have retired. They called a hiatus And the other guys coming back with the girl The nerd when I was trying to find this there was an episode 150. Yeah, 150 was supposed to be their last episode Oh, okay, that was the last the she raw one. Oh, right. Yeah,. Because there was another fucking Shira vehicle that we all needed to hear about. Like, I couldn't even listen to that one. So, I tried to let's see, do it. I was like, alright, I'm out.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Carl, I'm shocked that you, I'm not shocked, but that you went to find another show, because like, we haven't even finished up with the, you're right. You're right, you're right, all the way back. Shit, let's show that. We're not with that, correct. You know, these guys are at racist,
Starting point is 00:31:03 but they jump into the racism pool at one point. It's my clip 18. Oh, correct. You know, these guys are at racist, but they jump into the racism pool at one point. It's my clip 18. All right. The alt-right rancher. The green ranger comes out with the Pepe Faye. I love that laugh. Correct him. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:24 They were talking about the white ranger. You're from the white ranger. Oh fat, laughed at them. Oh, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm they wrap up, they go, all right, so that was the show that we watched. And you know, they talked about the pod holes and how ridiculous it is, and they go, so what do you think? We watched this again, they're like, yeah, I kind of want to see what happens. And they're like, oh, wait, I'm watching this whole fucking series. Really? Well, after that, that's what you guys want to spend your time doing. Well, because yeah, after his hilarious laugh, after they have racist comments. Yeah. I'm so upset that they didn't pull clips from the He-Man show. You betcha that, yeah. Really upsetting.
Starting point is 00:32:11 After his laugh there, you got to play my clip 11. He-Man was employing a deranged child in the lester on that show. So clip 11. Just two months ago, they were begging me, please, please, clip 11. it. Dude, that's crazy. Oh my God. But my point being this he man show was a well. Yeah, it was such a dumpster fire. There's plenty of clips to pull from this and discuss in a real way how this show is either terrible or you liked it or whatever. Yeah, they're just pulling.
Starting point is 00:33:00 They're just pulling Todd's either. Why would you pull clips right? I don't understand why they're not going to explain No, they even that shitty GI Joe podcast was and the least the guy would play a clip from the show from time to time They probably don't understand that they're able to do it. They probably think they're not allowed They're a hundred and fifty episodes it on this and completely under the radar What what would they not understand that what do they think they're getting season to see every two days? I don't know they're they think they're getting seasoned to sit somewhere two days? Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:26 They're not because they're not using clips. And while there you go, that must be it. But anyway, there's just so much content in that he-man show that you could have commented on, joked on, and they didn't do any of it. They just explained it beat for beat and then extrapolate on time travel, like freaking autistic nerds, you know.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Oh boy, wait. Wait, wait, boy, wait, what kind of nerds? I got damn it, Joe. Got damn it. Beat nerds, just to be safe, too. Look at these, look at these beat beeps. Well, I don't know, well, whatever. I'm not going to get into it. But, Joe, you got a lot more clips.
Starting point is 00:34:03 You say whatever you want. Don't get random. Yeah, don't get random, Joe. You got a lot more clips out here whatever you want. Don't get rid of it. Yeah, don't get rid of Joe. You got a lot more clips out here. There's my it's the internet. You can see whatever you want of the internet. Everyone knows that. My clip 19 is just more of these guys sucking.
Starting point is 00:34:17 So the villains are, what is this? Alpha five has a Reddit alien head. Oh boy. So what a panic. I don't know. They're laughing at Reddit. You know, like it's just they got. I remember this fucking rail. Like looking at shit on the internet. Like visual things. Oh, so they're just laughing to themselves. They're laughing. They're looking at. Oh, okay. The listener has no idea. I do. Yeah. If I was, I just know what was going on.
Starting point is 00:34:48 At minute 35. I tuned out of their show. I was literally, I wrote this note down at minute eight and in 36, 836. I was just like, I'm listening to this at work. Yeah. I your mind is wonders, right? I'm so bored. I want to go back to work. I can work. I'm just like, I want to start at work. Yeah. I you're mind those wonders right. I'm so bored. I want to go back to work.
Starting point is 00:35:10 I'm just like I want to start working again. I'd rather get back into this PowerPoint. Yeah. For sure. I'm just like this is fucking terrible. How do I animate this text to be a little bit more interesting? Oh, I have it swirl. It's all boring this show as I'm like using transitions between slide to deck to fucking every time. All right, Joe, I am fresh out of clips. So I really only have, I don't know. You want to hear fucking Skeletor in the, you want to hear Skeletor from the new show just, yeah, yeah, yeah. So let's play that.
Starting point is 00:35:40 That we had the key man stuff. Number seven here. Yeah. I'm Skeletor this planet's original Good person a people who can build travel through time Yes, are unable to defend themselves. I like that Did I tell you to smile? You don't breathe unless I tell you to in fact stop breathing That's a fucking skeleton show sucks. That sounds like Bill Hater doing Vincent Price
Starting point is 00:36:10 That's he that the co-host or host that doing his impression was way better than that. Oh, yeah Definitely that guy should have gotten some voice work if you think you're talking about the pod Yeah, that was the only thing about the pod yep I didn't think else you want to play from? Yeah, really? It's just a bunch of key made clips that show that fucking stuff. Who cares? Really? All right, good, good point, good point, Joe. Well, let's, let's move on. I want to point something out
Starting point is 00:36:37 our buddy, Kroge, wrote into the show to let us know that the war on Carl has not ended. The name Carl or... That's the name Carl? Yeah, well, that's a lot of it. Do you know who's leading the charge on the war on Carl? Do you guys know this? Seth Meyers. It is Seth Meyers.
Starting point is 00:36:55 So once again, here's Seth Meyers and the war on Carl. Scientists have discovered a new super colony of penguins after their manure was spotted from space. Said the penguins, thanks a lot, Carl. That's Carl. The penguin he eats to put like. So the graphic they showed on the screen is this fat penguin holding a bag of Chipotle.
Starting point is 00:37:22 And that's Carl. I don't know where Seth Meyers is writing staff. It's just like, we don't have a punchline for this. How about Carl? They use that punchline all the time. I don't even know why that's a punchline. I will have to say, I was refreshed to see, I think somebody used the name Lewis
Starting point is 00:37:37 as the butt of a joke. Lewis! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Where'd you say Lewis? Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Where'd you see it, Lewis?
Starting point is 00:37:47 Yeah, it's just not as funny as Carl. Oh yeah, he gets what, Seth Meyers. Seth is kind of a fucking weird name too. Whoa! You just went there! You're bad. So anyway, Crozier also gave us this awesome ISO. Thanks a lot, Carl!
Starting point is 00:38:04 That will definitely be sticking around on the board. So yeah, we do appreciate that. I want to play something that is definitely a copy, right in the fringe, man. This is from Netflix and a couple of people turned me on to this, including our buddy Doug from who's right. Have you guys heard Ricky, your v' new stand-up, especially yet? Oh, I've seen just the heavy watchy.
Starting point is 00:38:29 It's called Humanity. Yeah. And it seems to be wildly appropriate for this day and age, the specific time that we're in. I just want to play a few clips. Because why not? It's just fun stand-up. 200 million people watching around the world, and it's live, you know, big thrill.
Starting point is 00:38:44 But with that, many people watching, it comes a bit of stick. Everyone's different. Everyone's a blogger. Everyone goes, I was offended. Ah. Why? He said an horrible thing. We said loads of horrible things. Yeah, but that was a thing that I care about. That's a thing about a fence, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:39:02 It's about feelings and feelings of personal. I don't care about the so-called backlash, you know, comedian in hot water. All right. I think that speaks for itself. I think this clip is specific to Twitter. And of course it is. Of course it is. Doug put out a tweet that I liked a lot just saying that if you're going to get on Twitter you should have to listen to this and agree with it first. But again, that's what the world is like.
Starting point is 00:39:30 People take everything personally. I think the world revolves around them, particularly on Twitter. I don't know. I'm not tweeting anyone. I'm just tweeting. I don't know who's following me. They can be following me without me knowing, right? Choose to read my tweet and then take that personally.
Starting point is 00:39:46 That's like going into a town square, seeing a big notice board, and there's a notice, guitar lessons, and you go, I don't fucking want guitar lessons. LAUGHTER That's great. Yeah, yeah. And then check that out. Just one more thing
Starting point is 00:40:02 on this Rikitur Bay special, because I was checking out this morning and there are a few things that were definitely ringing true for me. And that's what I'm talking about. We're all going to die, so we should have a laugh. Because if you can laugh in the face of adversity, you're bulletproof, OK?
Starting point is 00:40:17 And me and my brother Bob had one simple rule. And that was, if you think of something funny, you've got to say it, right? Win, lose or draw, right? LAUGHTER It might go well. APPLAUSE It might go badly, but you've got to say it.
Starting point is 00:40:42 And do you know about that or not? Do you know about that and the whole thing? Do you listen to Erwatch comedians and cars getting coffee? I don't. I don't. Everybody thinks that Jerry Seinfeld, like because he had a very popular show on prime time that he was milked to us a nice guy. He's not.
Starting point is 00:41:02 He's a complete asshole. I'm saying that in a nice way. Right. Like I mean, he's like, you know, he gets along well with like Lewis Plack, you know, these Cindy Erie people. And if you watch that show, I can't remember, I think it was with Lewis Plack. And he's just like, well, you know, they're talking about the show. And he's like, why did you do this?
Starting point is 00:41:20 And he's like, well, I really only want to talk to comedians. And he's like, well, what do you mean? He's just like, well, if you're not going for a joke, why are we talking? There's no point in this conversation if we're not going for a joke. That's exact. So if we're not trying to make each other laugh and we're not going for a joke, then what I don't even want to talk to you. I really don't care to have a conversation. You don't want to listen to people who are reading off a wiki pdf page.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Why not? That's so amazing. No, and that amazing thing that you could do is read the internet to me. to have a kind of. You don't want to listen to people who are reading off a wiki PDF page? Why not? It's so amazing. And the amazing thing that you could do is read the internet to me. Wow. And then here's somebody tell you the same thing all over again in their own.
Starting point is 00:41:54 I wanted you to watch a cartoon and then repeat it back to me. Right. Or even exactly. So I do want to point out that our page on iTunes, we now have, do you guys know how many one-star reviews we have? You mentioned last time that it was on the 140s. So it's gotta be like 180. So wait, wait a fucking shit all over my point.
Starting point is 00:42:15 It's 157. Oh, okay. We have 157 one-star reviews. You'll get to 180, Carl. Oh, we'll get there. We'll get there. A couple more YouTube videos, we'll get there. We'll get there. A couple more YouTube videos. We'll get there.
Starting point is 00:42:25 I got to tell you that I am so fucking impressed with the fact that we can have 157 people who would want to give a zero start are not allowed to. They're forced to click that one fucking star. They're so pissed about it. I just got a note in today. It says Get a Like by the way today is St. Patrick's Day, which is why we're slurring our speech and terrible at podcasting.
Starting point is 00:42:54 Get a life one star. I gave you one star because zero stars won't register. So this is someone who was trying over and over and like, fuck, why won't this go through zero, zero? But anyway, I can't even read all the reviews. There's so many, I hate for one most recently. And Andy's like, you can't say go get human traffic on an iTunes review.
Starting point is 00:43:32 And so. You can? No, I guess not. But it didn't show up. But I don't know. Really? And he like good creative ones or something. Give me, I want to see.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Oh no, these people. These people. They can't even. Zero productivity. Yeah. Oh, I would love to think if they knew how to shit on the show. I always read the ones where these people talk about things we don't even do. Uh, talk about us eating while we're doing the show, which we've never done. And all this fucking nonsense.
Starting point is 00:44:00 You're already listening to the show. They're being told by whoever they're following to go to this thing and give it a bad review. Okay, I will give that show a bad review. They are bad. I am good. This proves I'm good. It's fucking idiots. What else did I want to play for you guys? I feel like I've I feel like I've done it all here. What's cool? Is there a teaser? Wait, are you saying that we've done it all and now it's time for That's right. It's time for the part of the show with endless possibilities the point of the show where people are on pins and needles They can't wait to find out guys. This is episode 98. I'm lying face people are on pins and needles. They can't wait to find out. Guys, this is episode 98. I'm lying face down on the pins and needles.
Starting point is 00:44:48 This is episode 98 or possibly 96, if I had a high account. Episode 98. Next week is episode 99. What is going to be the Wayne Gretzky episode for WATP? I'm not even sure. Could it be... I'm doing okay. I'm doing okay.
Starting point is 00:45:04 I had one of my girlfriends gave me a lovely compliment. So I'm very happy about that and made my day. What's your name? Her name is Stephanie. And does she listen to the podcast? She does it. Oh, well yeah. And she's somebody I've known for a very, very, very long time.
Starting point is 00:45:18 And I always can, I said something about my voice that I sound like March Shot Sister. No, not March Shot Sister, March Simpson sister. You do some of the little like, March Shot. I know, right? And... All right, this is a show called History Dweeb's. We picked it up a cell from August 26, 2016 because it's one of their most popular shows of all
Starting point is 00:45:40 the time. serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer is the title. This is a suggestion from Tim, the host of the show. Oh, no. Let's go figure. He set me a note. And he know that. He set me a note says, hey guys, my name is Tim and I am the host of History Deuce podcast.
Starting point is 00:45:59 We are a comedy podcast that covers true crime and on stories from history. We get about 65,000 downloads per month, which is impressive. And they do have a ton of reviews. We would welcome you to review our podcasts if you're interested. If I can be of any help, please let me know. Give up the good work. Tim, so Tim, thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:46:16 You are the way I'm going to be. Definitely. No, that he's going to get ready for this. Is that person that sounds like Tan Mama, guy? Is that guy? That's why I could follow him. Did you guys review one where it was like two? Is that person that sounds like Tan Mama guy? Is that guy? That's why I could follow you. Did you guys review one where it was a two-
Starting point is 00:46:29 Two Southern Drunks in their mom review? Yeah, shit, that's what this sounds like. That was the audio quality sounds terrible. This shows been around a long time and they do have a lot of reviews, so I'm confused. This is one of those ones where I'm like, is there something I'm missing? I haven't listened to it yet.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Doug Towson, I should probably listen to us and I'll give it to these fuckers. Hey, nevermind. There she is I'm missing that I haven't listened to yet Doug tells me I should probably listen to us. I don't get it Issues, but yeah, I haven't even listened this yet, but apparently it's very popular I people like it and listen to it so I it sounds like garbage from that But I know I don't know maybe there's maybe there's something to it that I don't even know about Find out all right one last thing that I wanted to talk about and then we'll get out of here I do have my attorneys blessing to say, you can't both pretend things. I've said are so terrible that they cause real damage and continue to post the audio of it all over the internet after I've taken it down.
Starting point is 00:47:17 Uh, it doesn't work. I don't think I need to describe that any further. So with that, please join us again next week because it might be the episode where you find out once and for all, are these podcasts sleep well everypony What is going on here? What was what? And the show has reached a new level. I You know who are these podcasts I don't know I don't get it But then one of them said something that really old me in just because I'm this self-professed Twitter police, right? Trying to explain to someone every day what freedom of speech means,
Starting point is 00:48:29 particularly in the context of comedy, and particularly in the context of a joke that a joke about a bad thing isn't as bad as the bad thing. It's not even necessarily condoning the bad thing. It could be anti-the bad thing. It depends on the actual joke. Big ups.
