Starting point is 00:00:00 What's up everybody? We are so excited to do an answering DMs today, me and Christian. And actually this is going to be really fun. I feel like this is going to be like a get to know us podcast. Is that actually your intro? Yes. Well you just kind of went like out of nowhere, but I like that. Yeah. Well I feel like this deserves all the energy in the world
Starting point is 00:00:28 because you guys sent in great questions and it was just making me laugh. Okay, first of all, I have to just say this because you guys hold me to what I say and I'm so thankful for that, but it was cracking me up. When I opened up, like ask me anything. So many people brought up the home run. If I ever tried to go hit a home run,
Starting point is 00:00:49 if you're new here and haven't heard this, basically months ago, I mentioned something along the lines that I could easily hit a home run, like a softball over the fence that Christian plays softball at. Lunacy. Christian said, you're legitimately crazy if you think you can do that.
Starting point is 00:01:09 And I was like, I actually am not crazy. I actually think I can do this, which then it led us to the discovery that I have something called delusional confidence, which we made up maybe on this show, or maybe that's a thing that everyone talks about. But I definitely have it. But I say it's not delusional because I took matters very seriously.
Starting point is 00:01:29 I went to Academy, I bought like 40 baseballs, a new bat, batting gloves, and practiced daily for a long time, didn't I? Yeah, so me thinking I could be an NFL quarterback if I go out and buy a football and And I mean, I didn't say that. I didn't say I had to make a team. Well, you just said it's not. It's no longer delusional.
Starting point is 00:01:50 It's no longer delusional when you put the work to it. And then we had Sean Johnson on the podcast and I talked to her about it. And she was like, no, delusional confidence required to do great things spoken by an Olympic gold medalist. Could you ever dunk a basketball? No, but that would be delusional.
Starting point is 00:02:05 What if you bought springs with shoes in them? And... No, but I'm talking about a realistic goal here. It's the same thing. It's not the same, okay. You dunking a basketball is equivalent to you hitting a home run on that softball field. Wow, okay.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Now the whole conversation is starting up again. Anyways, all I have to say, after weeks of trying... And you touching the net would be like hitting it in the outfield. I got a little discouraged because I realized I was far off from the target. So I never ended up going and trying. Okay, also in the questionnaire that I asked,
Starting point is 00:02:37 people were like, oh, by the way, did you ever run a mile? Did you ever do a pull up? And I was like, oh my gosh, there's so many things I've said on this podcast. You're a good goal setter. I set so many great goals. It's just the follow through.
Starting point is 00:02:49 But let me tell you about the pull up. When I said I was gonna do one pull up, I literally joined a gym, like a fitness place that's like CrossFit. It is the level of heart of CrossFit. I was going at 6 a.m., was it 6.30? I think it was 6.30. Regardless, it was dark when I was leaving the house. I think it was actually at 6 a.m., was it 6.30? I think it was 6.30. Regardless, it was dark when I was leaving the house, okay?
Starting point is 00:03:07 I think it was actually seven, but. It was dark. I worked so hard. I got in some of the best shape of my life. This was after I had honey. And even still, I could not do a pull-up. So I actually put in the work to do that. The mile, I will have to admit, I got running shoes
Starting point is 00:03:28 and that's as far as I forgot was a mile. I think I got you running shoes. Yeah, you did. I don't know, the mile was kind of wishful thinking. That was just like, it would be nice to run a mile, but I didn't ever like think, okay, I have to do this. The pull-up, I was determined. That was just a sad ending. The home run, I was determined do this the pull-up I was determined that was just a sad ending the home run
Starting point is 00:03:46 I was determined also a sad ending all that to say well the the the The home run we're hoping to make that be Part of the show we are hoping to film that we're hoping to film it Just just so you can see as you're typing through your keyboard if if curious, you can just see how off target this beautiful lass will be. Thank you. I did feel- I said beautiful- never mind, sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:13 Could've sounded bad. I did. This might be our first explicit episode of what I said. Beautiful lad. But I said lass because we've been watching Brave. The L was almost silent though. Sorry. That was scary.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Anyways, I have to say that I felt very loved as I read these questions and realized how much you guys really have been paying attention and hold me to the things I say I'm gonna do, and I appreciate that. And hopefully I will one day do a pull-up. I will hopefully one day also hit a home run. The mile, still in the wishful era,
Starting point is 00:04:47 but I'm going to one day work towards that. What if you try to do this all in one day? Like you train for it and you try to do it in the day. Like you do a pull-up. That might be delusional. You run a lap and then you hit a home run. Okay. It's gonna be in 2026.
Starting point is 00:05:04 In heaven. Sometimes you should know your year. This is not my year for Okay. It's gonna be in 2026. In heaven. Sometimes you just gotta know your year. This is not my year for that. It'll be in heaven. Okay, stop. Okay, speaking of the show though, filming the show, someone has asked, and this was a really good question I really liked,
Starting point is 00:05:17 cause she was saying, how is it filming a TV show in a completely different season of your life now? And how has it been with your husband being a part of it now? So I wanna ask you, because this is your first time to film a TV show, how you adjusting to it? How are you liking it?
Starting point is 00:05:32 I love it. I think it's been a lot of fun. It's been fun getting to, obviously we spend a ton of time with your family, but in that setting, it's been a lot of fun. It's fun to think about it futuristically, like looking back and having all those memories documented and having things that you can just progressively
Starting point is 00:05:53 look through life with our kids growing up. And I think the show is super, super funny. It's really funny, I cannot wait for people to see it. It's like Duck Dynasty in the office made a baby, which is the revival. Yes, but there's also another element to it too. It's like Duck Dynasty and The Office, and there's like a very real aspect of it too.
Starting point is 00:06:12 So it's like really funny and it's kind of office-y and it's like, because that's just kind of how our actual office is and our family and stuff. And then The Duck Dynasty, of course you have all of that. But then because it is more like documentary and hour long, we also have like the space to share real things we're walking through. So I feel like it will be a show you laugh and you cry.
Starting point is 00:06:33 And that's really cool. But no, I love it. I love getting to do it with family. When I was, maybe this is delusional confidence, when I was younger, I thought it'd be fun to be an actor. I signed me up for some random website back in the day, and I never got a call back. Yes you did.
Starting point is 00:06:51 You get emails still. Yeah, but that's like, I think they send this to everyone. That's not like specific to me. And so this is also kind of like, you know, testing out my, you know, some acting in a sense of like how I would have been. How are you on camera? Living out some childhood dreams. I'm living out some childhood dreams.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Just stay humble, babe. Thank you. It's actually been really sweet for me too. Like, I don't know, thinking back to the Dead Dynasty days, it's such a blur to me. And also I was a teenager and it was really what my family was doing and I was a part of it, which was super special.
Starting point is 00:07:26 But I feel like now carrying a more, you know, like we're one of the main characters, like we're on it all the time. That's, it's not just like, oh, I'm filming once, every now and then we're like filming every day, has actually been really, really fun to be a part of something like that with my whole family and dreaming about like
Starting point is 00:07:45 what the episodes are gonna be and what the storylines are gonna be. And it's like what is actually happening in our real life. And so that's just special. Yeah, like Christian said, it'll be really fun to look back in life and like have all this documented. And just the excitement that you guys had for it
Starting point is 00:08:02 was so overwhelming and so kind. It made us so much more excited for the show. So we are pumped about that. Thank you for asking. This was a really funny question on the note of people noticing everything and remembering things. So many people have asked about my pink vest that I wear.
Starting point is 00:08:22 And a lot of people are asking where it's from and all this stuff, but people are like, the pink vest, the pink vest. People will literally see me in the pink vest that I wear. And a lot of people are asking where it's from and all this stuff, but people are like, the pink vest, the pink vest. People will literally see me in the pink vest in public and be like, Sadie, in the pink vest. Like it's become this thing. And it cracks me up because here is a story about the pink vest.
Starting point is 00:08:37 First of all, it's from a store called American Vintage, which is such a cute store, a little pricey of a store, just throwing that out there. But very cute, just kind of different things. And we were on a trip to Malibu this year, they had like all these colorful vests. I was like, these are so cute. And the girl who was like working there that day
Starting point is 00:08:56 had on the hot pink vest. And I was like, that is so cute on her. Typically would I go for such a hot pink vest? Maybe not, but that girl was working it and so I did it. Okay, so then I wear it one time on the podcast with you and Chance, and then AG1, who is like a sponsor of the show, asked me specifically, which they've never asked me
Starting point is 00:09:17 any time like, hey, this is what you should wear for an ad. It's just like, wear whatever you want, come as you are, talk about AG1. This time they said, can you wear that hot pink vest? And I was like, sure, like so random. Why would you want me to wear this hot pink vest? But okay, I'll wear it. Because you look hot.
Starting point is 00:09:38 I'll wear the pink vest for an ad, why not? I love my pink vest. Then that ad literally blew up. It had like 17 million views on Facebook. And it was so funny because so many of the comments are like, that pink vest and like half the people are like, where is it from? And they had the people that hated it and were like, this looks like a toilet cover from the 90s at my grandma's house for the 70s. And I was like, oh my gosh, it actually does.
Starting point is 00:10:07 But the whole pink vest thing was just hilarious. That's really cute. I think you look super hot in that. Thank you. Now I kind of want more colors. So we'll see. I would just stay with the pink. Stay with the hot V?
Starting point is 00:10:19 Okay. Well, anyways, thanks for asking about the pink vest. It's American vintage. And there's the backstory. If you're a guy asking about it, just chill out. Chill out, my friend. Okay, we discussed the home run thing, the mile, the pull up. Okay, we talked about.
Starting point is 00:10:34 All of your failed. The pink vest. Well, they're not technically failed accomplishments. They're graveyard accomplishments. They are. They've been left to die. There's something I worked at, okay? Christian and I love talking to other couples about marriage.
Starting point is 00:10:53 We have received so much wisdom and advice that's helped our marriage so much from just opening up to others. And that's why I want to talk to you about Victory by Covenant Eyes. Let's face it, one of the biggest challenges couples face today is the impact of technology on their relationship. But Victory by Covenant Eyes. Let's face it, one of the biggest challenges couples face today is the impact of technology on their relationship.
Starting point is 00:11:07 But Victory by Covenant Eyes is a software that's designed to help protect marriages and build trust and accountability when it comes to internet use. Porn and inappropriate content are only one click away, but Covenant Eyes doesn't want you or your spouse to have to face that battle alone. Their software blocks harmful content,
Starting point is 00:11:25 monitors screen activity, and sends reports to your chosen accountability partner that could be a trusted friend, a relative, or your spouse. And it's not about shame or guilt, it's about creating an environment of openness, trust, and communication so that you can heal and grow together. I have seen firsthand how much accountability matters
Starting point is 00:11:41 in relationships and what an impact it really can have. God designed marriage to be a reflection of His love, pure, holy, and full of grace, and covenant eyes can help it be that way. Y'all, I think it's so amazing what covenant eyes is doing, and I just think accountability in general is so important. I think so many people are afraid of accountability, people knowing what they're looking at, but that's where freedom comes in when you have someone to help you. And so if you're someone struggling with porn alone, friend, don't struggle alone any longer.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Someone else can help you walk towards that freedom. If you're married, engaged, or even just dreaming about the future, I cannot recommend Covenant Eyes more. Go to covenanteyes.com slash Sadie to learn more and start your journey towards a healthier, stronger marriage today. That's covenanteyes.com slash Sadie.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Someone asked me, speaking of accomplishment, something that I am going to finish, someone asked me if I'm writing a book right now. And I don't even know if I'm supposed to say this, but I am writing a book right now, but it will be so long until this book comes out that y'all might even forget that I said this because it's gonna be such a long process.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I actually just finished chapter one. I love this. I've loved just the start of this process. I love the concept that the Lord gave me. I love what I'm writing about. I feel like God has just continued to give me so much vision for what this project is going to be. And I just feel like super excited about it.
Starting point is 00:13:09 I've done a lot of devotional books the past couple of years, but this will be my next like full trade book, which I'm really excited about. So thank you for asking. And that might look like I didn't do it because there's going to be time in between now and the time you see that copy. But that will be something that I finish and I am really excited about that. TBD.
Starting point is 00:13:30 So TBD. On the time. Okay, someone asked, and I thought this was a good question. It's a little bit off topic of what is our topic right now other than just going through DMs. But someone asked if we have any regrets from our wedding or wish we did some things differently at the actual wedding, which I think this is a good question
Starting point is 00:13:48 because a lot of people are engaged and trying to figure out what kind of wedding they want to have. And I do feel like there were some things that we were like, okay, maybe we would have done that a little bit differently. But overall it was like amazing. Yeah. I don't necessarily have any regrets.
Starting point is 00:14:02 If you are a woman, I would recommend looking at your husband, your future husband, as you walk down the aisle and not look at everyone else in the crowd. I do regret that. Here's what happened. I am such a people person. Just kidding, that actually did not offend me.
Starting point is 00:14:15 I'm such a people person. And you know, we had a huge wedding, which is maybe not my regret, but I will talk about that a little bit. But it was like such a huge wedding. And so we had, how many people do we have at our wedding? It was like 600 or something. No, it was more.
Starting point is 00:14:30 It was over 700. No, I don't think so. I promise it was over 700. I was gonna say 800, but I know for sure it was over 700. I think we set out like 800 chairs. I figured out. It was crazy.
Starting point is 00:14:42 I'm texting Lindsay right now. All that to say, it was a big wedding. So we had people coming in from all over the country because Christian's from Florida. I lived in Nashville for a long time. I lived in California for a little bit of time. We've had friends from all over because we just travel a lot.
Starting point is 00:14:58 My parents' friends, his parents' friends, like everyone was there. And I hadn't seen anyone since they had gotten into town to Louisiana for the wedding. So the way that our wedding was set up, we actually had it on my parents tennis court, but we made it into like this, I wanted it to look like a nighttime garden.
Starting point is 00:15:14 So the whole thing was like covered in turf. So you like from the outside, I couldn't see in because it was like a box like garden. It's kind of hard to describe. We'll put a picture of it on the podcast, on YouTube. And so- 612 people. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:29 It felt like 800, whatever. I was right. It felt like 800 people. There were 612 people there. All I say, it was a big wedding, okay? It was very big. And that's not including all of the vendors that we had. You're right, you're right, you're right.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Cause at the vendor thing, we had all of that chef's team. We had the milkshake bar. I actually was just curious, cause I thought it was more 600, but you thought. All that to say, it was overwhelming, okay? So I couldn't see anybody. I hadn't seen anybody. They opened the door and all of a sudden
Starting point is 00:15:59 I see all of my people, like all of these people that have traveled from so far that I hadn't seen in so long. And so instead of looking at Christian down the aisle, which you would have thought there had been like a radiant like light beam, which we already did our first look. Coming down on me. We already did our first look, which was amazing. So I had seen Christian that day and we had great moments that day. I was looking at everybody, I was like, hey, hello, welcome. I wasn't saying that, but my expressions were like,
Starting point is 00:16:27 oh my gosh, you're here, you're here. I can actually still remember the people that I saw as I walked down the aisle. And then I get to the end and I'm like, Christian. You were disappointed that I wasn't completely happy. You weren't crying or anything. You were a little disappointed that I wasn't like. But we had already done our first look.
Starting point is 00:16:46 So, you know. Just kidding. It was what it was. I loved doing a first look though before. I don't have regrets about that. And I think whatever your preference is on that. The thing with the big wedding is that I think having a big wedding was really fun
Starting point is 00:17:02 and I'm so grateful, seriously so grateful for all the people that came. We felt so loved and so celebrated. But because we do live in different states, because I'm from Louisiana, he's from Florida, and I live in Nashville and he went to Auburn and then I was in California, we didn't know a lot of each other's people that were there.
Starting point is 00:17:20 And so most of the night, I feel like we spent meeting people, you know, which was sweet, because that was like a time we could meet our people. But I remember wishing that we could be on the dance floor and just like kind of enjoying the night a little bit more. And we were like taking so many pictures, meeting so many people. And I remember at one point I looked at Christian,
Starting point is 00:17:40 I was like, I need to like go hide. And it was so fun because me me and Christian went and hid behind the little wine bar. Controversial, we did have wine at our wedding, but we hid behind the wine bar. And we were like, oh my gosh, we're at our wedding. We're getting married. This is so cool.
Starting point is 00:17:56 And it was like a moment that we just came into the reality of where we were at, and it was so fun. So I guess I just kind of redeemed it in that. I don't really regret having a big wedding because there are really fun things about it. But whenever people ask me about having a big wedding, I'm like, I think it's really fun and made for like a great party, great time,
Starting point is 00:18:14 seeing everybody feeling very loved and celebrated, but it can feel overwhelming if you don't know everybody coming and you're gonna be meeting a lot of people. So just like hold that in your expectation. Yeah, I got nothing else to add, that was good. Good, and I do remember seeing you when I got down the aisle. So let's just put that for the record.
Starting point is 00:18:34 Okay. Yeah. What do you guys do on date nights? It's been a while. It has been a little bit. It's been a while. It has been a little bit. It's been a minute. What are we doing? We should go on a date, babe. Yeah, it is very inspiring.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Okay, we do like little dates, so we go to lunch a lot together during the day because that's just more practical for us right now and this time of our life. Which that goes a long way. You don't have many sweet intimate date nights. Well, we have two children and we work. So life is a little bit crazy, but I feel like our lunch dates are fun. And then when we do go on dates,
Starting point is 00:19:18 we're kind of like typical, I feel like. We just like get dressed up, go to a nice dinner. And I always want dessert, Christian doesn't. And I rock it and own it and eat my own dessert. I just would prefer ice cream. Yeah, Christian wants ice cream and I want like whatever the restaurant has. You want like the butter pudding and.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Bread pudding. Bread pudding. Oh, I love bread pudding. I just would rather have like ice cream. Yeah, and we'll probably end up doing both, which is fun. And you are a big movie guy. But you never really want to go on a date to the movies. You always want to.
Starting point is 00:19:50 You never want to go with me to the movies. I always don't go with you to the movies, but sometimes your movie choices are too much for me. Baloney. I like good movies. Okay. What does a typical night in your house look like? Utter chaos.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Kinda true. A typical night in our house, I feel like I cook a lot. So I'll cook, our favorite meal that I cook is chicken Caesar pesto wraps. They are so good. And we'll use every single dish in the kitchen, none of them.
Starting point is 00:20:23 That's the worst thing to cook is that you have to clean up so much, but it's like something I'd probably cook once a week. So we'll cook, usually watch a movie as a family. Or we go to bed. I will clean for a while. We'll play, and then usually we'll put Haven down, and then Honey's kind of at the stage now
Starting point is 00:20:41 where one of us has to lay in her bed with her. This has been probably like for the last year. For a long time. And sometimes it's upwards of at the stage now where one of us has to lay in her bed with her. This has been probably like for the last year. For a long time. And sometimes it's upwards of like an hour and a half. I almost always fall asleep. I don't know how to get over this hump. Yeah, Sadie falls asleep every night putting Honey to sleep. And if I lay with Honey, I usually don't fall asleep,
Starting point is 00:21:00 but it sometimes takes an hour, hour and a half. And then at this point it's like 10, 10.30. And then it's kind of like, well, I guess we're going to go to bed. So we're trying to work that out because we don't have much time at night, just the two of us. I wish Honey would just-
Starting point is 00:21:15 We'll normally watch a show together or something. Yeah, but it's not like- But yeah, not a ton of time. We're figuring that out. 30 minutes. One thing that a lot of people asked me was questions about how do you sleep train your kids
Starting point is 00:21:29 and how do you get your child to stop drinking a bottle and how do you potty train? And I'm like, can I reverse ask this question? Because I don't know, I need help with that. We're in the same struggles as you guys when it comes to just parenting a three-year-old and a one-year-old. I feel like so many social media influencers are like
Starting point is 00:21:47 experts, you know, they're like, here's what I have done that's working. I don't know if they're experts or they just saved her. But they like it seems like that and I am not, I'm just going on the record. I am like, Haven, we are still having a hard time getting her off the bottle. We are just about to start potty training her and I am gearing up for it because I know it's going to be hard. Bedtime is just a struggle. It's easy for Haven. It's a little bit harder for Honey.
Starting point is 00:22:13 And I think one thing our kids have shown us is that every kid is so different and some are actually just easier than others. Some just take to things easier. Some have a harder time with things. Like, honey, it really wasn't hard to get her Pasi away from her. Haven, it has been so hard to get her Pasi away from her.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Honey is really hard to put to bed. Haven's really easy to put to bed. So every kid is just different. And I think that- Haven wakes up happy in the morning. Yeah, honey does not. Honey wakes up on the wrong side every day. I know a lot of us have so much on our plate these days. I know I definitely do. Being a mom,
Starting point is 00:22:51 filming a TV show, speaking, working with the LOT, it can be a little tricky to remember to stay hydrated. But it's so important for all of us to keep up with our electrolyte needs, whether you're living a busy lifestyle, going through an illness, or just keeping up with some fitness goals. And that's where Element comes into play. Being well hydrated isn't about just drinking plenty of water, it's about managing your body's fluid ratios, which depends on lots of things
Starting point is 00:23:15 like taking in electrolytes. Element is an electrolyte drink mix and sparkling electrolyte water with zero sugar, artificial ingredients, or colors, and unlike some other similar products, it actually tastes really good. Every pack or can delivers a serious dose of electrolytes that are formulated for literally anyone on a mission to improve their hydration.
Starting point is 00:23:33 We hear a lot about keeping an eye on the amount of sodium we take in, but there's a growing body of research that suggests our optimal health occurs at 2-3 times the standard recommendations. Electrolytes like sodium are important for hundreds of functions in our body, and if we don't have enough, then we'll get things like headaches, cramps, brain fog, fatigue, and nobody wants to feel like that.
Starting point is 00:23:53 That's why Element is used by everyone from podcasters to professional athletes, special force team members, and everyday people just trying to live our best life and feel better. Element is so good, y'all. The first time I had it, I think I did the watermelon flavor, and it's still one of my best life and feel better. Element is so good, y'all. The first time I had it, I think I did the watermelon flavor, and it's still one of my favorites, and the raspberry.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Christian prefers the sparkling can. He drinks one of these every single day and loves it so much. So get your free Element sample pack with any purchase at drinkelement.com slash woe. Try Element totally risk free. If you don't like it, they'll refund your order. No questions asked. That's drinkelement, D-R-I-N-K, L-M-N-T, dot com slash whoa.
Starting point is 00:24:31 I think it's just helpful though as a parent to know that like you do the best job you can do. And at the end of the day, you know, they are their own people and you're gonna sewer their life as best as you possibly can because you love them with your whole life. And you are going to do your best to teach them and grow and all the different things.
Starting point is 00:24:48 But like, you can't put too much pressure on yourself. I'm like, oh, I didn't punish her. I'm a bad mom. Or, oh, I can't go to sleep. I'm a bad mom. I'm always thinking you did something wrong because sometimes certain kids are just easier and some are harder than others.
Starting point is 00:25:01 It's not from a lack of trying or putting forth your best effort. It's just a difference. Like, Honey loves to talk at night. And part of that is really fun. Like, I love that about her. So I don't really mind staying in her bed for so long, because I enjoy that time that we have together. So, yeah, I think you just kind of have to take it as it is
Starting point is 00:25:17 and not put too much stress on yourself to, like, get through all of those things fast. Like, it will come. All of this is, like, temporary, and it goes by so fast. It will come, all of this is temporary and it goes by so fast. So I feel like when it comes to the approach of anything like that, I just take a much more chill approach than a lot of people on the internet do
Starting point is 00:25:34 and maybe people disagree with me on that. People will disagree with me on that, should I say. But that's just kind of where we're at, I feel like, in our life. But I feel like our evenings are really fun. Those are some of my favorite times. Yeah, our nights, yeah. We didn't do a good job in our life. But I feel like our evenings are really fun. Like those are some of my favorite times. Yeah, our nights, yeah. I feel like we didn't do a good job describing our evenings.
Starting point is 00:25:48 We're like, we go out weekly and we watch a movie. But that's not really true. I feel like we play a lot together. We do, but I'm saying it's still chaos. It is crazy. It's like, while you're cooking, the kids rarely wanna be with me. They always wanna, they're like tugging at you.
Starting point is 00:26:02 And then when we eat, they don't want to eat They're like wanting to get down then we usually end up eating together And then Haven wants to climb the stairs Which one of us is usually going to grab her because she just knocks down the little gate So just sweet, but I'm saying it is you know, it can't be chaotic, but it is super sweet. I remember It's not like we get home and everyone's like honey's you know, it's like we're all sitting in a circle and we're all like...
Starting point is 00:26:28 No way. Just holding hands and it's like... Who's doing that? Maybe... People probably think, people probably say that they do do that. I think it was really funny. I remember when Maddie and Grant came in town to do the podcast with us and they stayed with us and it was so fun and we have two little ones and you know Maddie and Grant and me and Christian
Starting point is 00:26:45 we always see each other at like different events and stuff like that so we don't always have the kids around and when they came they were like whoa like we never realized how different our lives are than y'all's because like y'all have kids and we're not in that season yet which now they just had their sweet little baby and it's so fun to watch them step into parenthood but it was truly it was just a realization of like, man, like we're similar ages. We see all the time. We thought like our lives were pretty similar
Starting point is 00:27:09 until we came and like stayed in your home and we're like, well, our lives are just different right now because kids do add a whole nother layer to your life and just messiness and craziness and fun and joy and all the different things. And so yeah, our nights are very much so the nights of young parents who have two little children. Okay, let's see.
Starting point is 00:27:32 What TV series have you binge watched recently? We're currently watching Mr. Beast Games, but we're not really binging it. I feel like we've been interested in it. We've been sporadically watching. We don't really binge anything ever, honestly. What's the last TV show I binge watched? Oh, I'm ashamed to say,
Starting point is 00:27:54 because it was not even good. This one I had the flu and I was in bed. Is it not the Korean show? Hmm? Oh, crazy, no. I know what you're thinking about. That was the last show I binge watched and that was my favorite show of all time.
Starting point is 00:28:07 Why can't I think of it? Crash Landing on You. That's my favorite show of all time. I'm probably gonna binge watch that again now that you've reminded me of that. But here's the thing, when you're like, when do you have time to binge watch whenever you have these little bitty ones
Starting point is 00:28:19 and I just describe what our night is. But whenever I was sick, I watched this show on Netflix called Later Daters and it was not good. By the end of it, no one ended up together. Oh, spoiler alert, it was not good. If you didn't like it, why are you talking about it? Because someone asked me, I gotta tell the truth. You gotta be truthful, that is very, very good.
Starting point is 00:28:36 I gotta tell the truth. Yeah, I don't think of, I can't think of anything I've been delusional lately. And by lately, I mean like a couple years. You should watch Crash Landing on You with me. I watch it kind of sometimes with you. Yeah, you should commit next time. Okay. I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Tell us your dream guest list on your podcast. Okay, I got one person at the top of the list, Steve Harvey. If we get Steve Harvey on this podcast, I will be so happy. What's up, it's your man, Steve Harvey. We got a good one for you tonight. Put it on the left. That was really good. We got the Huff fan on the right,
Starting point is 00:29:13 we got the Robertson fan. That was really good. I would just love to have Steve Harvey. He has such a good life story and very inspirational. Just be really fun. Also would love to have Sarah Blakely on the podcast because I love her heart for women and I like how she started Spanx
Starting point is 00:29:29 and now she's doing sneaks and she's just a go-getter. I don't know, I feel like those have been like longstanding fun guests that I'd love to have on the podcast. I would also love to be on the Kelly Clarkson show and have her on the podcast. That would be really fun. At Kelly Clarkson. Reba would be really fun. At Kelly Clarkson.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Would be really fun. At Reba. Reba would be really cool, wouldn't it? That'd be cool. Do you wanna do Reba in person? I don't know if I'm ready for it. You don't really have to. Okay, I won't.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Okay, cool. You wish I did. Christian, are you still doing your podcast? I am, yeah. I'm just taking a little bit of a break right now, just with the show and everything and trying to figure out what I want the next season of the podcast to look like
Starting point is 00:30:11 and what kind of format I want to do. But I've had a bunch of questions about it. Yes, I'm hoping to do it. At some point, I just need to try to get in a better rhythm of filming schedule and travel and really if I don't want to start doing it and then realize that I can't keep up with how many episodes I'm gonna need to be allotted, so.
Starting point is 00:30:30 Yes, a lot of people ask me if I'm still gonna be doing the podcast with the show and continue to do all things with LO, and the answer is yes, but we are figuring that out. Our life is so different now. Our schedule has so dramatically changed, and so it has been a lot of work to keep up with the podcast right now but I love doing this so much and I am so thankful for the six plus years that we've been able to grow like
Starting point is 00:30:54 as a podcast and all you guys have been such faithful listeners. I do not want to stop now. I hope that again I've said it last year this feels like the beginning in so many ways like I love it so much. And so my goal is to continue, but we are just navigating kind of all that that looks like. But so far, so good. I have an incredible team who's helping me do it. Okay, someone said,
Starting point is 00:31:18 would I ever do Dancing with the Stars again or would Christian do Dancing with the Stars? Would I ever do it again? Absolutely, I would do it again. I loved it so much. And I feel like I was going through a lot at the time I was on Dancing with the Stars because I was so young and I was insecure and I was anxious and I had all this stuff going on with my life. And now as just like an adult who's married, who has kids, I'm like confident in who I am in Christ. I just feel like I'm at such a healthier state
Starting point is 00:31:46 all around as a person. I would love to go back and go through that journey as who I am now compared to who I was then. Be really cool. Yeah, that's good. Yeah, I don't think I ever have any interest in doing dancing with a friend. I want someone in our family to do it.
Starting point is 00:32:03 I feel like now with the Doug Dynasty reboot, someone's gonna get asked, who should do it? Y'all let us know. I'm gonna tell the Dance With Stars crew who I recommended. I think mom should do it, but she said no. So we'll see about that. So someone asked, this is a little bit on a deeper note,
Starting point is 00:32:21 but I thought this would be interesting to hear from you. So someone asked where to start studying the Bible, which is kind of a common question that we've talked about, but I don't really wanna go into where to start studying, but I was thinking it'd be cool to talk about when we started studying the Bible individually for ourselves. Do you remember what season of your life you got
Starting point is 00:32:41 into studying the Bible for the first time? I think for me, the way I started studying was whatever we were studying as a church, whether it was Jonah or Luke or something like that, I just wanted to read the whole context of kind of what we were studying through. And then really just looking up commentary on that. So I think for me, the way I started studying was,
Starting point is 00:33:05 like if we were doing a series through the gospels, rather than just, you know, reading that stuff, or like, you know, reading the verses at church on Sunday, kind of wanting to learn more about the context of things and actually reading the Bible, through things that we were going through as a church. So all that to say, whatever church you go to, if you're studying, you know, whether it's Genesis
Starting point is 00:33:29 or Exodus or Revelation or the Gospels or Acts or whatever it is, just on your own time, just read through whatever those books are. And obviously, you know, you can start with Genesis. And I think, you know think the whole Old Testament really paints a picture of why the New Testament's so powerful. And if you read the New Testament, then you really kind of miss the gravity
Starting point is 00:33:52 of what Jesus is actually coming to do if you don't fully understand the Old Testament. So I think it's important to read the Bible from cover to cover. But if I were to talk to somebody about where to start or how I started studying, I'm pretty sure it was just reading through things that we were studying as a church. And yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:11 That's great. Yo, I cannot believe how quickly this year is flying by. It's almost spring again, which is so crazy. But no matter what time of the year it is, it is never too late to prioritize your health. If you're looking for a place to start living your best life then AG1 is where you need to start. Starting point is 00:35:16 So maybe it's time to ask a friend or your spouse or a relative to make a healthy commitment with you. Or if you missed out on giving the perfect gift for Valentine's Day, it is not too late. Giving the gift to AG1 shows that you really care about your person's health. Y'all, we love AG1. I tried AG1 about three, four years ago maybe now
Starting point is 00:35:35 because Christian got it and he is always, you know, doing the healthy thing. He has all these things that he takes and does and he's living his best life. And I thought, I don't know if that will be for me. It looks really green, all the things. But then I tried it and I was like, wait, it's actually so good and super easy to stick to.
Starting point is 00:35:51 And I felt so much better after trying it. So it's never too late to create a healthy habit for yourself in 2025. So try AG1 for yourself. It's something that you'll actually be able to stay consistent with. And that's why we've been partnered with AG1 for so long. And also this is so exciting.
Starting point is 00:36:06 AG1 is offering a Lululemon exclusive everywhere belt bag and AG1 welcome kit with your first subscription while supplies last with their Lululemon membership. So make sure to check out drinkag1.com slash woe to get this Lululemon offer. This is amazing guys. That's drinkag1.com slash whoa. I remember for me, so I think it was whenever I got into kind of speaking a little bit and you know, my story is unique because people always are like, how do you get started doing what you're doing?
Starting point is 00:36:41 And I'm like, man, I don't even know exactly how to answer that question because like going back to middle school, I started doing what you're doing? And I'm like, man, I don't even know exactly how to answer that question. Cause like going back to middle school, I started doing Bible studies in middle school. I did Bible studies in high school for many people. Cause I love doing that. I love studying the word, teaching the word. I love everything about that.
Starting point is 00:36:56 But then like, I didn't seek an opportunity for like a platform to do that. My family had a TV show and then that opened up a door for a platform for them to do that. And even when the door show and then that opened up a door for a platform to do that. And even when the door was open, I didn't even start preaching or anything until God really started doing something in my life after I went to a conference and had a vision for what that was going to look like. So then I was starting to prepare messages. What would this look like if I was going to share a message? And then that really kept me in the Word, like studying and learning and wanting to
Starting point is 00:37:28 grow. And I just remember asking God for revelations, like give me revelations and seeing analogies all of a sudden and things that were happening in my day-to-day life. And I just got like so obsessed with searching for God in the day-to-day life and then searching for God in the Scripture. And like I wanted to know Scripture. I remember Emma Jenkins like God in the day-to-day life and then searching for God in the scripture. Like I wanted to know scripture. I remember Emma Jenkins, like back in the day, Emma McDaniel, now many people know Emma McDaniel. She knew more scripture than anyone I had ever met.
Starting point is 00:37:55 Like it was amazing. Like she could just scripture, scripture, scripture. She would just- Sorry, I just burped. She just burped. I tried to do it. She knew more scripture than like anyone I'd ever met. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:38:08 I'm so sorry everyone. In 35 minutes of this podcast, we finally decided to go serious. And then that's in Christian has a nose burped. Like I could have helped. I tried to hold it. I know, okay. There was nothing I could have done.
Starting point is 00:38:24 If y'all ever were wondering what we're really like, this podcast gives a really good, a really good up close and personal. I'm gonna try to get back to what I was saying, but I don't know if I can. Emma McDaniel knew more scripture than you, anybody you've ever met. Yes, and it was so inspiring.
Starting point is 00:38:40 And I was like, I wanna be like that. Like, you know when you see someone you're inspired by and you're like, I really wanna be like that. And then you're like, if I'm wanna be like that. Like, you know when you see someone you're inspired by and you're like, I really wanna be like that. And then you're like, if I'm gonna be like that though, I need to change some of the things in my life. And I was like, I wanna know scripture like that. But like, if I wanna know scripture like that, then I have to start studying scripture.
Starting point is 00:38:56 And I actually remember doing this interview. It was like kind of a random interview as a focus on the family. And my mom listening to it, and several different people listening to my family, they were like, wow, you know so much scripture. It's like a fountain that just comes out of you. And I remember being so proud of that
Starting point is 00:39:14 because I was like, man, I desired to know scripture. I began to learn it, and it's coming out of me just like in natural conversation. And that was whenever I was like, I just like saw the value of what it looks like to like actually put the word in your heart and the word to be active and alive and how it will come out and it will inspire people
Starting point is 00:39:33 and change people's lives. And I feel like I'm always been love communication. I love writing, love speaking, I love podcasting and our strength finders communications like my number one thing. I love communication. And I Strength Finders communications, like my number one thing. I love communication. And I think that the words you say
Starting point is 00:39:49 and the stories you listen to, like they really do shape people's lives. And I'm like, I wanna say words that matter. And I think the most important, most powerful words you could ever speak are the words of truth in God's word. And so if I wanna say those words, I have to meditate on those words.
Starting point is 00:40:04 I have to study those words. And so if I want to say those words, I have to meditate on those words. I have to study those words. And so that was the start of that. And I will say too, there was a season in my life where I had met these two amazing mentors. And they are pastor, husband and wife, and they pastor church forever. They had an amazing family. And they actually invited me into their home
Starting point is 00:40:21 to come and like learn from them. And every single Saturday, I would go to their house and I would stay the night and I would help serve their church and really just go to their church the next Sunday. I won't even say serve it and do it again. And then I was there, I was at all the services with them, just kind of hanging out and just observing
Starting point is 00:40:38 and just learning. And go into their house every Saturday, I always wanted to like come with questions. And I also wanted to come with things I had discovered, things I had read. And what was really cool is these people were a lot older than me. They have their own grandchildren.
Starting point is 00:40:52 But yet they always seemed so impressed by what I said. And not in a puff-up way, but like, wow, that's amazing. God's teaching you that. It's so cool. And it inspired me and encouraged me to keep learning and to keep growing. I'd be like, oh, listen to this analogy. I thought, well, it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:41:07 And they would like tell me to start praying for God dreams. Tell me to start praying for God to speak to me more and just like teaching me what that looks like to like learn and to grow. And that was like a year and a half of my life. And it shaped a lot of who I was and taught me how to study the word. I'm super thankful for that.
Starting point is 00:41:22 And so I know that's a unique situation. Maybe not everyone has the opportunity to go that up close to a mentor's house, but if you have any opportunity to go sit with a mentor, someone older than you, a pastor, pastor's wife, anyone in church, or just someone who you look up to and say like, man, like, Emma McDaniel, I want to be like that person. Get up close to them, like ask the questions,
Starting point is 00:41:44 tell them about what you're learning. Ask them what they think about it. That is so impactful. Yeah, and I think the thing too, I think maybe sometimes we think the misconception, you're gonna be right when you want to start studying scriptures. Reading a ton all at one point,
Starting point is 00:41:57 but I think something that's cool is, there's so many resources that are available online and all these different things. For instance,, if you're sitting in the book of Acts and you wanna learn more about what life was like after Jesus dies and all the different things. And one great resource is the Bible Project. So I can remember back in college, like wanting to read,
Starting point is 00:42:20 like wanting to go listen to the Bible Project on books that I was interested in, and then kind of learning more of like a synopsis view of it, and then going to actually read the Bible, and then other resources, like Enduring Word is a great one that kind of breaks down verse by verse on things that actually means
Starting point is 00:42:36 and maybe certain ties to the Old Testament. So for me, I just, I think things like that are really cool. Kind of learning scripture from like a 30,000 foot view point of perspective and then actually reading it for yourself, Googling things that maybe that confuse you or things that you think are interesting. And yeah, just doing a deep dive. But I think maybe pick one book
Starting point is 00:43:02 that you really wanna get to know and just take as much time as you want to really focusing on that. That's good. Okay. This is the last question I will ask and you guys again, thanks for sending in DMs. Please keep doing this. We love answering your DMs.
Starting point is 00:43:15 I think a lot of the conversations we have on this podcast are deep and they're heavy. We love to also have fun in these moments and just let you guys see the real us and what we're going through right now and answering questions you have about our life. This is such a gift so thanks for sending them in. Last question I want to ask is, I thought this was really sweet, someone said what is your favorite thing God has done for you this week? Yes, for me, which I know which one you're gonna share, for me Monday nights we do a Bible study and your dad spoke and it was really cool. Usually he always gives good messages
Starting point is 00:43:48 and I really love listening to him speak and kind of articulate scripture. But this week he was very vulnerable and I think it was cool to see for people, your dad exercise humility in that way, which sometimes he may not be the best at. But it was- He's the boss hog.
Starting point is 00:44:07 He is the boss hog. But it was cool seeing him like, yeah, like ask, not ask for forgiveness, but like take a stance of an posture of humility and really own up to things that he feels like he could be better at. So that helped me getting to see him as someone that I view as such
Starting point is 00:44:25 a leader, getting to, getting to hear him talk about things that he kind of struggles with and see and hearing him talk about what he wants to see God move more in his life. And so that's one of them. Then obviously the, the, the one that you're about to say was a big one. I like video and my dad so much at night and I hear my dad speak all the time. Just his posture is so beautiful and I see my dad speak a lot on big stages. But for him to come in on a small group of people and share with one, the same passion he shares in big moments.
Starting point is 00:44:58 But two, just a different level of humility. Man, I just respect him so much as a leader and I was recording. He's like, I want to just like seeing my dad do this. Like, this is so cool, I'm so proud of him. But, so that was one for me too. But then we actually went to Texas A&M this week. This is my third year in a row getting to go to breakaway and it is just the most beautiful ministry.
Starting point is 00:45:19 College students meet every single Tuesday at breakaway, led by incredible leaders who are friends of ours. And so it was kind of just like a crazy week. I mean, it's been a crazy month for us, but the filming and everything, and then we actually ended up taking a bus to A&M, and we actually filmed this, so I'm super excited to show y'all all this on the show.
Starting point is 00:45:38 But we took a bus, I slept with Haven, hardly slept at all. It was so wild. And then we just had so much going on. And then I, you know, was going to preach the, or I did preach the first one and the second one. So we did a 7 p.m. and a 9 p.m. What's it called? One more. Service?
Starting point is 00:45:56 Service, yes. I was thinking session, that's not the word. Service. And I was just like feeling so excited, but also like physically really tired. And it was so cool because you kept speaking to me, like, you know, God has made perfect in your weakness and like it's when you're weak, He is strong in you.
Starting point is 00:46:15 And like, it was just really cool for a Christian to speak that scripture for me and for me to really feel that. And whenever I went out and preached, like I had so much energy and so much passion. I had so much fun. I felt so energized and sustained and just filled with the Spirit to give this message. I felt so confident.
Starting point is 00:46:35 And then right after the first one, I was so tired again. I was like, whoa, my body's so tired, but I'm so thankful and so grateful we get to do this. And then stepped into the second one and had the same energy, the same passion, the same confidence, that same Holy Spirit takeover moment. You really are strong when I am weak. And to remind myself of that verse,
Starting point is 00:46:58 be reminded of that verse, and then step into it and really feel that was so cool. So when you said, what's your favorite thing God did for you this week, it was just really cool to see the word active and alive. And I got to see how the word I was preaching, the word of God was inspiring other people and how that scripture was coming to life
Starting point is 00:47:14 and their life and even hear some testimonies after. But for me personally, to get to experience such an amazing thing by God was really, really cool. Yeah. And then even too, we had one guy on our film crew that's filming for the show actually be really impacted by the event and by some of the stuff backstage.
Starting point is 00:47:30 That was really cool. Hearing him say he's actually really interested in faith and what we're doing. So that was a really cool foot in the door of potentially something that can open up to more in the future. So that was actually one of the really big ones for me was getting to have that conversation and see him be curious about faith
Starting point is 00:47:50 and kind of lean into it. And just feel like the love and then just say, wow, I haven't experienced religion in this way, like this good of a way. And that was really beautiful. So I feel like this week we've just been able to have a lot of like amazing God conversations. And we had just gone through a whole month
Starting point is 00:48:05 of having the flu, which was so hard for our family. And it was just a hard couple of weeks. And someone actually asked me about that. Was that hard for y'all? Did y'all experience FOMO? Yes, all of it. We experienced all of it. It was very, very hard and difficult.
Starting point is 00:48:16 So to come after those weeks of being isolated and feeling super depleted and weak and taking care of kids and trying to take care of herself and all those things to having like this week where God just felt so tangible with such a gift and just a reminder in life that like, man, every day is different, you know, but God really does remain the same.
Starting point is 00:48:37 Like one of the thing in the message I was preaching is like Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. I don't matter what your yesterday felt like, what your today feels like, what your tomorrow is gonna feel like, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And no matter what your yesterday felt like, what your today feels like, or what your tomorrow's gonna feel like, He is the same. And so when you find yourself in Him, man, there is an assurance, there is a confidence,
Starting point is 00:48:52 there is an anchoring point, no matter what day you have, no matter what season it looks like. And I'm so thankful for that. And I feel like literally in the month of January, we've been able to see that. We've been challenged by it. Some days are easier to believe that than others. Some days are easier to believe that than others.
Starting point is 00:49:05 Some days are easier to see that than others. But man, at the end of it, I'm looking back at January and like, God, you have taught us a lot at the start of 2025 and processing what that's gonna look like for the rest of the year. But anyways, again, thank you guys for sending in DMs. We love answering them. Please keep sending them, the funny ones,
Starting point is 00:49:22 the silly ones, and the deep ones. We love talking about it all. We love y'all and I hope you have a great week.
