What's up everybody? Happy Well That's Good Wednesday. Y'all I am so excited for this episode.
It is the moment you've all been waiting for, except for my already know now if you watched
last week's episode and the finale of season one of Duck Dynasty the revival, which is so crazy
that we just finished
the first season already.
If you haven't watched it yet,
stop listening to the podcast.
If you haven't watched it,
then go watch it in the camera.
Stop going to Amazon Prime, Prime?
No, Amazon Video right now,
and watch the episode,
because it is so epic.
But what we did on the finale
was we finally shared our gender reveal,
which that is so crazy how long ago that was.
It was crazy. And the fact that we made it until right now without spoiling the gender is amazing,
but now we can say it, baby huff number three is a
girl.
Which you have spoiled it, but we've just been able to cut it out of the podcasts.
Well, yeah, if this podcast was live, I have spoiled it like 12 times.
Many times, yeah.
Because it's so hard not to say she, her, you know, and I did that a lot.
And then also, I told like all of my friends and family that it was a girl.
And so we had several times my friend would comment, be like, can't wait for her to get
here. Or, you know, can't wait for the little sister.
Like they kept commenting this.
And so I would delete comments as fast as I could.
But some of you guys saw,
I think Shelly Giglio was the first one
to comment something about it being a girl.
And by the time I saw it,
it had like 15 likes on her comment.
And they're like, Shelly Giglio just spoiled it, it's a girl!
And we tried to delete all evidence of that, and I think we did a pretty good job.
I think you did a good job.
Because this last month, I wore two outfits back to back that were blue,
and all the comments were like, it's a boy!
Our maternity pictures, I was in the blue shirt.
You were.
That's not intentional.
A lot of people this last month now I'm in the blue shirt.
That's why I'm a guest boy because of that.
And it's so funny because people have like not only guest boy but they're like convinced
it's a boy.
Like oh you are just totally giving it away.
It's such a boy.
And I'm like ha ha ha ha ha.
Well it's a girl.
And so we'll kind of back up to before we knew what we thought we were gonna have
Just obviously based off feeling and nothing else
Just what we were guessing and how the gender reveal party went how we started to plan it
But it is really funny because I was
100% convinced too that this video was gonna be a boy
Was I not you were like yes dead set on it. Like dead set.
It is so funny to me how much I really,
really thought I was gonna be a boy.
So backing up to even finding out we were pregnant,
what's really sweet and kind of crazy is the week before,
was it the week before that Honey,
no, it was like the whole month before,
Honey started telling me like-
It was like two months.
Yeah, I mean, it really like the whole month before. Honey started telling me like. It was like two months. Yeah, I mean it really was probably two months.
Honey started saying that I have a baby boy in my tummy.
She'd be like, mommy, you have a baby boy in your tummy.
Before you were pregnant.
Yes, and his name is.
Joey.
Joey, yeah.
So she kept saying, it was so weird.
It came out of nowhere.
She was like, you have a baby boy in your tummy
and his name is Joey.. She was like, you have a baby boy in your tummy and his name is Joey.
And I was like, what?
I don't have a baby in my tummy.
And she's like, yes you do.
And his name is Joey.
And she was like adamant about it.
And I was like, what?
And at the time we were not like planning on getting pregnant.
We were thinking we were gonna wait a few more years.
That was the last thing we were thinking.
Yeah, we were thinking we were gonna wait a few more years. Yeah, we were thinking we were gonna wait a few more years
and she just out of the blue started saying
that I have a baby in my tummy and his name is Joey.
Well then it got to the point where
she would like pray for Joey.
Like at night she would be like,
and God thank you for my baby brother Joey.
And I'd be like, what is happening?
And I'd tell her like, honey, I'm not pregnant.
I don't have a baby in my tummy.
And she's like, yes you do.
And then she, one night she was praying for him and I was like, okay, I'm not pregnant. I don't have a baby in my tummy. And she's like, yes, you do. And then she, one night she was praying for him
and I was like, hey, I really want her to know
I really am not pregnant because she clearly
has this expectation that she's about to have
a little brother and we're not even trying
or thinking about that.
And so I was like, honey, you know, maybe one day
mommy will have a baby in my tummy
and maybe we'll have a baby brother,
but you know, I really don't have a baby in my tummy right now.
And she said, yeah, he's in heaven right now with God,
but he's coming to your tummy.
And I was like, what in the world?
It was so crazy.
It was weird.
And so then fast forward to me finding out I'm pregnant.
Basically, I really truly did not think I was pregnant.
I was just like, I mean, we, like I said,
we weren't really planning for that.
It wasn't really the timeline we thought,
but we had just gotten back from this trip
and I was like, hmm, I don't know.
Just all of her Joey comments and all the stuff
about a baby, it was kind kind of getting it in my head.
And I was like, am I pregnant?
Like, God, is this actually like what you have for us?
And I don't even know that I had any symptoms.
I don't even think I had missed my period.
I was just like, I'm just gonna take a pregnancy test
and just see, and then, you know,
I can stop thinking about this.
And so didn't even tell Christian I was taking a test. and just see, and then I can stop thinking about this.
And so didn't even tell Christian I was taking a test.
Didn't even like truly, truly thought
it was just gonna be negative.
And I was just gonna be like, okay, carry on.
That was just a weird thing that Honey kept saying.
Well, I had one pregnancy test left at our house
from like when we were starting to try with Haven.
And so I was like, I'll just take this one.
And I went to the bathroom, took the test,
left the test in the like bathroom part, walked out,
and Christian was on FaceTime with his mom,
I didn't know.
So Christian gets off the phone with his mom
and comes back in the bathroom and I'm like,
we are pregnant. And he was like, what in the world?
You were self-videotaping.
That's the last thing I was literally expecting.
I was so caught off guard.
He was not swimming at all.
And so we were just like, what is happening?
It was the first week we started filming for the show.
This is the first week we have cameras in our house.
First week we're filming and then we found out we're pregnant. And also we had planned that we were gonna be filming
from like December to around July.
And so it immediately hits me like,
I'm about to be pregnant the entire time
we're filming this show, like this is so crazy.
Everything was just crazy.
It took us a few days for it to like sink in.
And then we were like, what the heck, honey was right.
So that's why I thought,
oh, it has to be a boy because I didn't even think I was going to be pregnant. And then I was,
and she had been telling me about this little boy named Joey. Well, this is like the really cool
thing. So I look up the meaning of the name Joey and it means God will increase her add to.
So I was like, whoa, that is so cool that honey literally
was like prophesying over us that God was going to give us a baby. He's going to increase and add to.
And I feel like that just gave me so much peace and confirmation that God obviously has like the
time of this baby's life. I mean, of course we know that, but then to see that in that way,
it was just so amazing. And so then remember I texted Laney about it and I was like, this
is the craziest thing, honey. You know, when I told Laney on FaceTime that I was pregnant,
I was like, this is the craziest thing. Honey's been telling me for like two months, I have
a baby named Joey in me. And she was like, what? And she was like, Ronnie told her the
same thing before she was pregnant with Rosie said, you have a baby boy
your tummy. His name is Joey. What? And also, Lainey and Clayton live in Tennessee with Ronnie
and we live in Louisiana. So Honey and Ronnie don't like talk on a regular basis. And that was
like a year before any of this and Honey would have been too little to even remember, even if
they did talk about it, which they didn't. So that was just so crazy to me.
And that's actually why Lainey named her daughter Rosie Jo, Jo short for Joey, because of the
kind of prophetic word that Ronnie had.
So I don't know if anybody else out there has kids told them they were pregnant with
a baby named Joey, but apparently that is the way God is speaking to children and it
blew our mind.
So we thought for sure it's a boy. So we thought for sure it's a boy.
You thought for sure it's a boy.
Did you not think it was a boy?
I wasn't sold on it, I mean no offense to Honey,
but I wasn't sold on her prophecy.
You weren't sold on her prophecy?
No, I was not sold on her prophecy.
I mean, I wasn't at first, but then I was like,
the more detail she got with it,
then I was like, what in the world? Everything she was saying was was yeah it was interesting and it had some
validity to it. And it would always be when we would be talking about God like
remember whenever there was a big storm one day and I was like telling her you
know God God can calm any storm so if you ever get scared in a storm then we
just need to say Jesus will you calm the storm? And Alice started telling her about the story
of the wind and the waves and the boat.
And then right after that, she's like,
yeah, and God is who's making baby Joey.
It would be like, anytime we're talking about God,
it would be attached to this baby coming.
So that's why I was like, okay, this is weird.
It's not just random or she saw it somewhere.
It felt very spiritual and very prophetic.
And so I was like, yeah, I'm just gonna take a test.
So I was convinced it was a boy, major convinced.
I also had like two other dreams about it being a boy.
You had a bunch of-
I had a lot of dreams.
I think friends had dreams too.
Friends had dreams it was a boy.
And then my pregnancy was so different
than it was with Honey and Haven.
I just had completely different symptoms.
I stopped throwing up at week 10,
where in the past I didn't stop throwing up to week 25.
So I was like, when I started feeling good at week 10,
I was like, oh, it's for sure a boy.
So going in that day, or going into the Generalville, pretty convinced.
But then the day before the Generalville party, we were in the car
and we were listening to that song.
I always wanted a brother because me and honey were like,
so convinced it's going to be a boy.
And then she was like, Mommy, I might be a little sad if it's not a boy.
I was like, yeah, but we don't have to be sad
because you already have like Haven
and sisters are so fun and we would love it.
She was like, yeah, okay, moves on.
Then after that, all of a sudden she was like,
Mommy, I want it to be a girl.
I want it to be another sister.
So this is the day for the gender reveal.
So we've had months of Joey, months of boy,
singing I Always Wanted a Brother, and the
day before she's like, I hope it's a girl, I hope it's another sister.
And so at the gender reveal party, you actually see this on the show.
I said, honey, I'd like a last minute girl change, but I'm still sticking with boy.
I'm going to stay committed.
And then, of course, when it was a girl, it was so funny.
It was as if the boy thing never happened for Honey.
It was like, sister, girl, like she was so happy.
Which I'm really thankful that her heart did turn
because she, I don't know what, she would've been like,
it's not Joey?
She'd have been so confused.
She'd have been so confused.
We were not gonna name our daughter Joey.
We were not, we were not gonna name Joey.
If there's any female Joey's listening, no offense. We just weren't going to name our dog.
I mean, Joey wasn't going to be the name if it was a boy either.
No, yeah. No. Even if it was a boy, Joey was not going to be the name.
I took that more as the prophetic word that God will increase or add to,
than that actually needs to be the name of the baby.
But, yeah, leading up to the gender reveal was funny.
Christian, you want to kind of take over the thought process behind the gender reveal
and your moment to shine?
Shine or fade.
One of the two.
I was not shining very brightly.
Okay, confession time.
I honestly used to think all sheets were the same.
As long as they were clean and kind of soft,
what's the big deal, right?
Wrong. The first night I slept on Miracle Made soft, what's the big deal, right? Wrong.
The first night I slept on MiracleMade sheets,
I realized what I had been missing out on.
Turns out I was just missing NASA inspired technology.
Miracle sheets are made with silver infused
temperature regulating fabrics.
So whether you're a hot sleeper, cold sleeper,
or a mix of both, like me,
Miracle sheets keep you comfy all night long.
And because they're infused with silver,
they naturally fight off up to 99.7% of bacterial growth
and stay cleaner longer.
That means fewer washes, less stink,
and a whole lot more sleeping like royalty.
Get yourself a set of Miracle Sheets
and you'll know exactly what I mean.
You will be giving your old sheets to Side Eye.
I'm telling you, Miracle Sheets are actually amazing.
I was never like super picky with sheets.
Christian always was, and I'd be like, what's the big deal?
Then we tried Miracle Made and I was like,
oh, that's the big deal.
It's actually so much better.
They're so comfy.
I love getting in our bed at night.
Y'all are gonna love them.

Yeah, so for the gender reveal, this is our third baby.
So for the first two, we've wanted to, you know, gender reveal parties are fun.
We definitely don't want it to be like over the top,
you know, like some things you'll see on social media.
We want it to be like roasted on TikTok
because it was like so extra,
but we do want to be extra enough that we had a great time.
We want it to be fun.
Yeah, so for our, so for Honey, we had paint guns
and even there was a little slip up there too.
There was. I can't remember what happened. It was right before
Everyone was supposed to start shooting my cousin Ava. Yeah accidentally shot first. So you just see this pink like
But I actually didn't see it. I didn't see it. You did see I can't my mom saw it
I can't remember that was a long time ago. Um
So that was fun
So we had we had like all clothes on, then we got sprayed
with the pink paint guns.
And then for Haven, we wanted to do something
with a softball.
So we had had the powder stuff in this little baseball softball
thing.
And then Sadie underhand pitched it to me,
and I was going to hit it.
Which there was pressure in that one, too,
because I was like, if I miss it, it's just anti-climatic.
If I miss it, and then if it just falls on the ground.
Yeah, there's been a bunch of funny people
that have either missed it and just exploded,
or they've hit it back at their spouse.
And it's exploded on them.
The girl pitches it, and the husband misses it,
and the catcher didn't ever expect him to miss.
And it hit it right in the head.
I haven't seen that one.
It was like blue.
I haven't seen that one.
That's one of my favorites.
I love the engineer.
So those were two things.
So then for the third one, we were thinking,
like, what could this be?
And I've gotten into hunting a lot more
over the past couple of years.
And in my mind, I had this idea of shooting my bow at something
like a big target, something that there
was a large margin of error if it came down to it.
So we'd had this idea to do something with my bow.
But I consulted Martin and Cy, which
you'll see in the episode episode about trying to help me.
We went through a bunch of different things
and came down to wanting to, kind of wanting to try
to impress Willie with hunting skills,
while also finding out the gender of the baby.
And yeah, so I wanted to do my shooting my bow and arrow
at something and the lovely people who chose to get
the thing for me
to shoot, I guess had way more faith in me.
Well, because we had decided at the time,
we were like, okay, we're gonna film it.
So Christian and I were talking with the film crew
about the production team about what we wanted to do.
And we were telling them, oh, we thought it would be
a cute idea to do a bow and arrow theme.
So like, cause he's shooting his bow,
but in like baby world, bow, like girl wears a bow
and like boy shoots arrow.
Anyways, we were telling them about this idea
and they were like, yeah, well we're gonna help
get the thing to explode because, you know,
on TV, bigger is better.
And so it was like, in our mind, we were thinking like,
a big balloon he would shoot and then it would like,
he would come out. Yeah, I was thinking like a three foot big balloon and it's, you know, I hit it and it pops and it's,
you know, like anybody could really pretty much shoot this thing. It's not that difficult.
But when they did some research, they were like, well, this would be epic because it's more like
a target you have to shoot. And with Christian actually wanting to impress dad, they're like,
let's raise the stakes because it's gonna be more impressive if you hit like a smaller target.
Yeah. And so when they set up that
target, so you weren't out there, so, so, that little thing was about the size of a hockey puck. Well it's in the episode 2, yeah, so I go out to do like a
practice thing to kind of shoot it to see where I'm, where I want to stand and all those different things.
So I show up and it's, yeah, show up, and it's legitimately a hockey puck.
And I'm like, crap, this is not good.
So I went out, and we did this practice thing
just to see how it would explode,
what that would look like.
And at that time, it was like orange paint,
so it did not have the color of the baby.
So the first time I shot it, I hit it.
And it was such a loud explosion.
Like, it literally, everyone almost fell down.
It was so loud.
Here, like, our producer Annie, she's like, oh my gosh.
Like, it scared everybody.
So I hit it the first time.
And then, you know, when you, this thing explodes.
So all my arrows are, they're all donezo.
Like they're shot.
So I hit it the first time, then we had to reset,
do just three different things.
Missed it the second time, which I was kind of like,
not good.
Then I hit it again the third time.
So I was two for three on the practice things,
and I felt very confident.
Plus, I like to think that I perform better under pressure,
maybe sometimes.
So I was like, okay, well, when the day comes for me
to actually do it, I'm gonna nail it,
because I did it here when no one was really watching me,
and then when I start to feel pressure,
and people that I love are watching,
I think I'll live up to the expectations.
So the day comes for us to do it, and like I said, all those arrows were destroyed.
So I showed up, I only had three arrows. That's what I had constructed for the bow.
So I showed up with only three arrows, literally not thinking in my...
To be honest, you never really expressed concern to me that you would miss it.
The main thing you said to me was, it's so loud.
It was so loud.
Get ready for a lot of this.
You didn't really talk about how small it is.
No, and I was so confident.
In the practice round, I'm doing this little interview,
and I'm like, baby number three, your dad's a sharpshooter.
Which watching it, it's like, you idiot.
And I just miss all the other ones. Well, okay, so let me set the expectation too for that day
because when we get there, I see it
and I realize how small it is.
And I'm like, babe, that's like really small.
And I was like, and he wore a t-shirt that day.
And it was cold.
And he was wearing these tight jeans,
which it was so funny because they were bell's. I was like they ended up in my closet.
But you looked really cute but I was looking at him like those are not his jeans. They were way they were
not sitting jeans as people would say. My crotch was tight. They were like so short on him. I looked over over and I was like, that is not his jeans.
I was thinking they're not my jeans.
And I was like, I don't want to offend Bella by asking her.
But I think those are Bella's.
They weirdly fit me.
Because they were like vintage, you know?
They were like high.
They were definitely some like high water.
So I asked Bella, like, Bella, are those your jeans?
She's like, yes.
What the heck?
Like I changed at your house one day.
Why is Christian wearing them?
That's probably the reason I miss, he's wearing like this tight,
white short t-shirt and Bella's tight jeans.
This is not the appropriate outfit
because it was freezing that day.
It was freezing that day.
I heard it.
And so, so.
The shirt was mine.
It was not your shirt.
So I'm wearing a jacket with fur.
Like it's cold. So I'm telling him, I'm like, I think you should put on a hoodie or a jacket with fur like it's cold
So I'm telling him I'm like I think you should put on a hoodie or a jacket because you're gonna be shaky because you didn't
Dress appropriately, but let's be real you like the tight
You're like sure it's a double egg
When I pull that arrow back you didn't want to cover there is in no that shirt went with the jeans
I was in no way thinking when I draw this arrow back
It'll show off my little five one hundred percent. There was not
So anyway, okay, maybe not but I'm gonna get roasted for this shit. Why you roast me for my outfit
I'm roasting. I was you are you're flaming me the only cuz you look great
You actually like very right now and I was you are roasting
No, and I was thinking I don't want you to cover it either cuz you look great. You actually look very great. Right now? And I was thinking. You are roasting. No, and I was thinking,
I don't want you to cover it either,
because you look great,
but what I was thinking too,
was that you're gonna be shaky,
because it's cold,
and you're wearing a t-shirt.
So I kept saying,
maybe put on a hoodie,
because your shakiness with the bow
is gonna be hard to shoot.
Is shakiness even a word?
Everyone understands what I'm saying.
Shaking.
I was shaking.
You were shaking.
Thank you.
And I was worried that the shaking
was going to affect the target.
Well also, when you throw into the mix,
you have a whole group of people filming you.
You know it's gonna be on national television.
You have family that has flown in
to watch this moment happen.
We had so many people there.
I think leading up to it,
I knew there was gonna be high stakes just because of the
nature of what we were doing, but it didn't fully hit me until I saw all of our friends
and family there.
And then it was like, this all sits on me.
And to just paint the picture too, there's like a 30 person film crew that day.
I mean, would you say about 30 people?
That's probably more than that.
And so there's like 30 people on the left with the film crew.
And then there's like six cameras all lined up.
And then they're like, wait for each shot to get perfect.
So they're all set.
Well, here's the problem too.
And on our right side, it's all of our friends and family.
And like everybody was there.
So it was very intimidating.
Here's the problem too.
If you know like football terms, and if you watch football,
like the phrase icing the kicker,
which what that means is,
like let's say you're about to go kick a field goal,
and then right before the person kicks the field goal,
the other team calls timeout,
it's called icing the kicker,
because then you give them more time to think about it,
they have to go back to the huddle, blah, blah, blah.
So for me, like there were so many times
where I just felt like I kept getting iced
because I would get set up and then we'd have to,
oh, wait, wait, wait, wait,
we have to go read and readjust the camera.
We gotta go move something.
So it happened a couple of times to where
I think the longer I had to think about it,
the more I just kept getting in my head and I was cold.
So this is where it gets really good.

So we have all the film crew on the left side,
all of our friends and family on the right side.
Now mind you, remember,
everyone was talking about how loud it was
the day they practiced.
So everyone was like, you have to wear headphones
or earplugs.
So we get all the kids in their big headphones.
Everyone else gets earplugs.
We're like, OK, is everybody good?
Well, then right before we do it, the camera notices, hey,
actually, this isn't going to look as good
as we want it to be on TV because y'all are standing
so far away from the target.
So whenever pink or blue comes up, you're actually not going to see that at all from y'all are standing so far away from the target. So whenever, you know, pink or blue comes
up, you're actually not going to see that at all from y'all's angle. So maybe we need
like confetti or something behind y'all. That way from both shots, we have the color of
the gender reveal. So Lindsey, come on in. Our guest, our guest for the show.
Lindsay is the star of last week's episode.
Woo!
Thank you, Lindsay.
Pink!
It was so funny because Lindsay,
when did y'all decide you're like, oh.
This was also an unexpected.
I didn't know that you were gonna do this either.
All right.
Well, just for y'allall sake too, I was like,
this is like for real, for real.
And you had your photographer there.
And I was like, you're not gonna get any,
like anything from the explosion.
And I was like, I want your face
and you want this to be, you know,
photographed and there forever,
when y'all go back and look at this and watch this
or talk about it.
So I was like,
you've done our past two gender reveals
and we had great pictures and you crushed it.
And the pictures are all, you know,
and that's just like the fun stuff.
And I was like, I really want there to be
like something behind y'all and like the TV crew was saying,
like y'all didn't have anything. And to your point, you practice, you hit on the first shot. I was
like, I had no inclination that you were going to miss. Like I had so much trust in you.
That is such a compliment. I wish I had that much trust. I wish Sadie had that much faith
in me. Well, hey, I believe in you.. And also, if you've ever done a gender reveal
and you've had to use a confetti,
those things are so hard to twist.
Yeah, they really are hard to twist.
So hard.
So I was just getting ready
because I didn't want to miss the moment
and had full confidence that you're gonna hit it.
So the plan was, the plan was,
when Christian hits the target,
Lindsey pops the confetti,
so at the same time, Pink or Blue is coming up behind me and Christian and over by the
target. Well, what happened was, if you've seen the episode, is Christian shoots. There's
so much anticipation, not only for the gender, but for the loud noise. Everyone's kind of
bracing themselves. He misses, so there's like a two-second silent pause, then all of a sudden you hear, boom! And then you just see pink start to trickle.
It was like a couple hundred. I was so confused. It was probably as much as you just dumped on us.
It was really that anti-clim It was so anticlimactic. So everyone's expecting like a boom, peak,
and we hear, ping, ee.
And then, yeah, I did not know, it was such a dichotomy.
I did not know what to do in that moment.
I was so shamed of myself, but also confused.
But at the same time, I was so mad at myself.
There were so many, so many things going on.
Let me be honest, did you draw up a cuss word?
Oh yeah, I was like, oh, I'm about to be bleeped.
Because I literally popped it and the explosion didn't happen.
I turn around, I flip the confetti thing, and I say a bad word.
And I'll turn and there's a camera right in my face and I
was like oh
This is gonna be lovely
It was so bad
Literally Lindsey for a week like would not talk about it would not
Everybody wanted to talk about it like everyone at the office was like giving Lindsey a hard time and she's like it's not funny
And I was like Lindsey it is funny. It's fine for me
And she's like, it's not funny. And I was like, Lindsay, it is funny, it's fine.
For me, it was such a bad day for me.
Honestly, you helped me in that moment though.
You really did.
Because some of the attention on me,
no offense, got put on you.
I know, but then I was like, it had to come back to you.
It did, it came back to me twice.
So then, after that, I'm like, we're both in this horrible.
We're both in this horrible situation.
It was so funny because the pink comes and like,
so all of a sudden I just go, it's a girl.
Like you hear me say it on the show
cause I was so shocked it was a girl.
The only thing I'm thinking about
is the fact that we're having a girl.
I'm like, what?
Cause maybe Joey, I was like, it's not a boy.
All those dreams, all the, I always wanted a brother. All the like symptoms, like it's a girl. So I just was like, it's not a boy all those dreams all the I always wanted a brother all the like symptoms
Like it's a girl. I just was like in shock. You know, I didn't realize everyone else was thinking
Christian just miss and Lindsay just messed it up. All my friends are flaming me. Yeah, they literally had like bedded
Jacob and John David and your dad. Yeah. I lost your dad a couple hundred dollars,
which I felt bad about.
Well, and I didn't realize they were doing that.
Which also made me feel better that your dad was betting on me.
And I didn't realize they were doing that.
And then John David's blowing me up afterwards.
Like, oh, I can't believe you did that in just so many jokes.
And so I was just like, I'm never going to live this down.
So then, yeah, so after this happens, uh, you know, everyone's like, okay, let's get reset. Let's do it again. Surely, you know, surely he'll hit this next time. Um, so same thing,
take a couple of minutes, get everything repositioned, get people back lined up,
you know, same energy.
And the whole time I was like,
y'all, let's just play it how it happened
because this is true and this is hilarious.
But since we did actually practice for this
and they had this whole idea and like,
the Dynasty loves a good explosion.
I mean, I was just like, you should keep going,
but we don't have to film it like it happened that way
the first time.
Let's just be in the moment.
Oh yeah.
Well also, because Christian had to shoot two more times,
he lost all of his arrows.
So for people explaining that don't,
so let me get it out in a second.
So second time we reposition, missed the second shot,
which was very unfortunate too.
And I was like, well, I'm down to my last arrow,
which is not good.
It's also a book by Erwin McManus, not a plug.
So last arrow, everyone's, you know, get re-situated,
everyone's, you know, amped up.
And then it was just like a dud.
But I'm pretty sure my third shot kind of clipped it,
it just sinfully exploded, besides the point. Okay, but can I just say you you said that and my dad tells
everybody that and everybody says that but on this show it's pretty clear that it
didn't hit okay well it was one of the three clipped it I can I promise you
100% one of the three clipped it but you had to hit like yes you had it or it to
explode or the thing to explode I'm saying it was literally this big you had to hit like, you had to hit the mode. Yes, you had to hit, for it to explode. For the thing to explode,
I'm saying it was literally this big.
You had to hit it dead center,
for it to actually explode.
And we had two taped together, right?
For a bigger explosion.
So it actually, literally,
would have to go through the center.
So your third arrow's gone.
So my third arrow's gone.
So then production's like,
well, can we just run to Academy
and get you some more arrows?
And as I'm saying, if you know anything about hunting,
if you have an actual vertical bow,
the arrows are configured specifically to that bow.
So you can't, there's no generic,
at least for the kind of bow I have,
there's no generic arrows and stuff to go put on this bow.
So somebody would have had to take my boat
to this specialty place in town and like,
get them shaved down and then the whole thing's
strung and everything.
So we break for lunch and it's like the longest hour
of my life.
It was not an hour.
Lunch?
Yes.
Lunch was-
I think we like, well, everybody was like,
what are you gonna eat?
And I was like, okay, I will go to your house,
grab your food. I'm saying, we didn't take an hour,
but by the time we ended up doing lunch,
the whole thing was like an hour.
Cause then they had to get...
I was like, everybody just keep partying.
It's so funny from their perspective
because they both had to stress something.
I was like so stressed.
I was like literally having the time of my life
at our gender reveal party, like, it's a girl.
I went and got my tacos. I fixed my plate. I'm talking to everybody like I can't believe it's a girl
But like I'm not thinking about it and then someone's like hey
I think Christian's like a little upset and I was like at this white picket fence
I'm like looking at these horses. I'm like, oh no, I'm just like depressed
So then it was obviously very grateful for another girl. I kind of was hoping it was gonna be another girl.
But like internally just like, depressed.
Yeah, so I see him over there looking out at the horses.
I'm like kicking the fence.
And I like walk up to him and it was actually really sweet
that they showed that on.
It was sweet.
And I was like, are you sad that it's a girl?
Are you sad that you missed?
And he's like, I'm sad that I missed.
And I'm like, oh, okay.
Well, I don't care that you missed.
That was funny and it was fine.
I was like, we're having a girl.
And I feel like that was probably the first time
it kind of hit you like, oh, we're having a girl.
Because Christian actually did want another girl.
Everyone, when they find out we're having a girl,
Francis said, oh, Christian, he's outnumbered.
I'm like, no, he, he's outnumbered.
I'm like, no, he was actually rooting for another girl.
Girl life is so fun, we love having girls,
and I will say too, even though I really thought
it was a boy, I did not have an ounce or a moment
of disappointment, which I don't think you should,
but I have heard that from people,
and if you do, it's no shame,
but I thought I might be a little bit like, oh, I wanted a boy, but I really heard that from people, and if you do, it's no shame. But I thought I might be a little bit like,
oh, I wanted a boy, but I really didn't.
I was like, oh my gosh, this is amazing,
and then we talked about it,
and so I didn't know why he was sad,
because I had to continue on the party.
Because in my mind, in my mind,
it was just like, I only cared about what the gender was,
and I also
Truly thought that that whole idea so funny but I also I was like that is gonna be so funny when we see this back on TV because
That was a tough thing cuz everyone else was like
That was the that was a struggle for me because everyone else was so happy
I missed because it was gonna be you know better for the show
I wasn't happy you missed but I just thought it was funny
because with what Lindsay did made it funny.
If you just wouldn't miss, it would have been like, ah.
No, it's one of those things where it actually looks
like we made it, like that was not real.
It looks like you meant to.
But it was actually, I can promise you,
I would not have intentionally missed, opened the door.
Oh, I know you wouldn't.
You would never intentionally miss or lose anything.
I would never intentionally sabotage myself.
Summer at our house is a whole different kind of busy,
especially this year with another baby on the way.
Routines go out the window, meals happen, you know, whenever.
And trying to get my kids to eat something healthy,
well, that is a daily battle.
And let's face it, most kids' supplements out there
just don't cut it.
Either they're missing something important
like fiber or probiotics,
or they're loaded with sugar and dressed up like candy.
I wanted something that actually covers all the bases
and tastes good enough that my kids will actually be on board
without a meltdown, and y'all, I'm here to tell you
that Bean Kids has figured it out.
Finally, everything your little one needs in just one scoop,
added to a glass of cold milk.
It has over 40 ingredients, greens, fruits, vitamins, plus pre and probiotics
packed into a single scoop.
And now it's available in two great flavors, the original chocolate
or the new flavor chocolate chip cookie.
Who doesn't love that?
Beam Kids is co-created by an Olympic gold medalist,
pediatrician formulated, third party tested,
and it actually tastes good,
which is a huge win in our book.
We actually tried Beam the first time when we were traveling.
I told Honey, cause she was like so sad,
we didn't have chocolate milk on the road.
I was like, actually we do.
And so it was great to be able to give her a chocolate milk
that was actually healthy for her
And that was like the best way to get it in and now
It's something that I'm so thankful to have because it really is hard to get them to eat healthy
So when I need them eat healthy, I can mask it with chocolate milk or chocolate chip cookie flavor
And now is the perfect time to try it because beam is offering an exclusive deal for my listeners for a limited time
You can get up to 35% off plus two free gifts whenever you go to

vegetables.
Get yourself some Beam Kids Super Powder and have one less thing to worry about this summer.
So I had no more arrows for my bow.
And I can't remember who had the idea,
but someone was like, we actually need the explosion to happen.
Like, can we still see that?
So Lindsay ran to our house to get my crossbow, which
is, in the hunting world, would be a slight lower tier
to bow hunters.
It's like bowling the guard rails.
Sure, if you want to say that.
That's such a good representation.
That was pretty good.
Yeah, that was good.
So yes, I was a crippled bowler, if that's
what we're going to say.
Hey, just because you have the rails
does not mean you're going to bowl a strike.
Hey, and I had to give Willie the other poplar.
It means you're not going to land in the gutter.
I'm not doing this good.
It means you're not going to land in the gutter.
I know, but it doesn't mean you're going to get a strike.
It's better than the gutter.
So you still had to do something.
So Lindsey goes and gets my crossbow very graciously.
And then, yes, I ended up hitting it with my crossbow,
which was great, but also...
But at that point, we had known for an hour and a half
that it was a girl.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We wanted everybody to know what the explosion was like,
because it was very crazy.
It was very loud.
It was very loud and really cool.
It was so sweet.
Honey's like, come on on daddy, you got it.
I love though, like in the episode watching it,
I was like, that was actually really sweet
that dad was actually helping you with the crossbow,
like the shot, which you could have done,
but that was sweet because-
I didn't know what I was doing with it.
I know, but that was really sweet
because I was like, you were trying to impress dad,
but at the end of the day, and I said this on the show,
I was like, is dad really gonna be impressed
by you hitting it?
I was like, that's like,
because I was like, that's like inviting Steph Curry
to your Generalville party.
And it's like, Steph, I'm gonna shoot a three pointer.
And that's how we're gonna find out.
Like if you make the three pointer, is Steph Curry like,
wow, you're so impressive.
Probably not, because he does it all the time.
But if you miss it, Steph Curry is like, bro.
So like dad, I don't know that he would have been, like,
necessarily like, whoa, you're shot, whatever.
Maybe he would have.
But what was sweet is he was like, he was so for you,
he bet it on you, because he thought you were gonna do it.
And then he helped you and, like, wanted to teach you.
And I think the thing with dad is, like,
he doesn't want you to feel like you have to impress him.
He wants to be able to coach you, you know? And so I thought it was, like, actually doesn't want you to feel like you have to impress him. He wants to
be able to coach you, you know? And so I thought it was like actually a really sweet moment
in life and a good little lesson that like, you don't have to try to impress your father
while he just loves you and like actually wants to do it with you. So it ended up being
very sweet.
Yeah, it ended up being very sweet. But uh,
I see that one really a lot too, just in life and business and all the things.
He does like to make fun of a lot of people
and he'd give you a hard time,
but at the same time, if you really need help
or if you really need good advice,
he'll come out and he's always willing to
make somebody better and be successful.
He was cheering for you.
He was not making fun of you.
Jacob was.
Yeah, he wasn't.
Jacob's brutal.
Jacob's just, yeah.
Jacob's Jacob.
But the whole thing was awesome.
And Lindsay, thank you for being a part of it
and making it awesome.
I was gonna say it's awesome.
You did it, you made it.
Well, and just to just having to hold that secret
in just the week before,
I feel like it was such a short time period
that people don't know about, but like,
you're like, we're finding out,
and the party's like next week, and I was like,
well, are we even gonna have the results in time?
Because it was stressful.
I was like, I didn't even wanna tell you,
but I called up to the place that you had it done,
and I was like, hey, I haven't gotten an email yet.
You know, like, I was like, she was there,
like, we didn't even have her on the schedule.
And I'm like, what?
What do you mean?
Like, you know, and I'm like, wait, I need this, you know?
And they were like, oh, well, she didn't, you know,
she wasn't on the schedule.
And I was like, are you sure we're talking
about the same person here?
Like, what?
Well, actually I will say-
So then I'm glad I did tell you because I was like,
wait, what? And then I think you ended up just did tell you because I was like, wait, what?
And then I think you ended up just going to your doctor
to get it.
Okay, what happened was, this is kind of crazy.
So we were heading for a trip to London
and we were gonna be gone for two weeks.
So we wanted to get it all shot before we went to London
because we were doing it for filming and all this stuff
and like Christian's parents were coming into town,
we'd already kind of set the date.
Well then I was like, oh shoot,
now I need to like find out the gender.
So I did my blood test.
Like I did the, all of the testing
that you do at your doctor and it also tells you
if there's, you know, anything wrong with the baby.
And those take a little bit longer
than just like a gender test.
Well I didn't realize how much longer it was gonna take.
So that's what happened,
cause they were like, oh, it's maybe not going to be here
for like two weeks.
And I was like, oh, shoot, that's like after the gender appeal party.
So I was like, OK, I'll just go get one of those 24 hour tests and do it real fast.
Well, our local like, it's a kids boutique, but they do ultrasounds.
We actually have that on the show too at First Glimpse.
They do the 24 hour results.
Well, I go to do it and they stick the little needle thing
in me and my blood clotted.
Like it just literally didn't drip.
And she's like, this is so weird.
So she's like, okay, let's try the other arm.
So we do like a heating pad on my arm.
We do every single thing to make it bleed.
It clots. And I was
like, what the heck? So then I was like, okay. She's like, well, maybe, I don't know. Like
I've never had this happen to me. Maybe it's cold outside and you're cold, but we did the
heating pad. Like we're going through everything. She's like, okay, you're just going to have
to come back another day. And I'm like, meanwhile, need that this week. So Friday was my last chance to do it.
I woke up, I drank so much water.
I like drank an element, so much water.
I did heating pads on my arms, like wore long sleeves.
I did everything and got there and my blood caught it again.
It like barely made it to the first line.
So then I was like, something wrong with me?
But anyways, it came back as, you know,
the results did get to Lindsey, but I told Lindsey,
I was like, hey, I don't know if I trust that.
Like, because I was like,
I didn't even make it to the second line.
And so thankfully my other results came in too,
and it was both a girl.
But I was like-
I told you, I was like- No, we have seen them in ultrasound. I was both a girl But I told you I was like now we have seen ultrasound
I was like even after this like please go to the doctor like make sure because I was like
Yeah, I was telling me they said sometimes it would read yours. Yeah, give you a false
They said it would not be a false if it was a boy
But if it's a girl it could be wrong. Yeah because it might have just been your blood since you've got so little of it.
And I was like, please go back and check this
because we're about to tell everybody.
So we almost had a gender reveal fail
because we didn't know the gender
and then we actually knew the gender,
but we had a different version of a fail.

Truthfully, I watch gender reveal fails on YouTube
all the time.
My algorithm hits me with it
because I think that they're so funny.
And so I think that's why I really didn't care.
I was like, oh my gosh, it happened to us.
Like that is hilarious.
And I wish you could be there in the moment
because it's probably funnier
if you were there than just watching.
But it was just the anticipation of the sound
that didn't hit, made it even funnier.
Cause it was like the explosion didn't go off.
Two seconds of just silence.
And then that little bitty pop was just hilarious.
So the whole day was so fun and so funny.
The whole day, it was a dream.
I know it wasn't for you at first,
but then you got happy.
You know who I felt bad for?
Almost more than you.
Who?
Your sweet mother.
I did because Shari Hough,
she's the kindest woman out there.
And she-
You felt worse for my mom than for me?
Because she felt so bad for you.
And I didn't realize you were actually sad.
So I was telling her, no, I know.
I know.
And I do feel bad for that.
But I was telling your mom, I was like, oh no,
like he's fine.
Like I didn't realize the situation.
Crying in the bathroom.
So I'm like, no, he's fine.
And I was telling your mom, I was like, it's funny.
I was like, it's gonna be so funny.
It'll be so fun to watch it back.
And it doesn't matter.
It's just like, and I was like, that target was so small
and it's cold.
There's way too much pressure on him.
I'm like hyping your mama.
And then I realized, oh shoot, I do need to go talk.
So I'm sorry.
That was on me.
Sometimes mother knows best.
And she definitely did in that moment.
Is that a song you were referring to?
Mother knows best.
Thank you.
Listen to your mother.
And I was just gonna give one more,
one more clarification too,
because I need to like clear my conscience.
But you can confess.
I was gonna say the film crew did kind of trick me
whenever I got bleeped too.
Oh yeah, because you did mess up twice.
Yeah.
And I was like, that is so not fair
because when we were like setting up and everything,
they were like, okay, explain how this works.
And I was like, I mean, when Christian hits this,
the pink is gonna pop out.
And I was like, oh gosh.
But they were like, they literally said,
explain to the camera, like,
and like you were talking to your child.
And so like I did, and I was like,
wait, y'all just tricked me.
Like I've done so good.
Like not to tell anybody.
And so many people, yeah.
So many people- They all kept the secret though.
They all keep coming and you know, like,
what is it, what is it, we know you know,
we know you know, and like,
people try to get it out of you.
And then the film crew's like,
well explain it to us.
And I was like, oh my gosh,
I should have never fell for that.
It was so funny though.
And they didn't, I didn't know any of them knew.
They played it really cool.
Cause the day of, Annie was like asking me what I think it is. I was telling her, boy, she never fl of them knew. They played it really cool. Cause the day of Annie was like asking me
what I think it is.
I was telling her, boy, she never flinched
and she knew the whole time.
So that's so funny.
Lindsay, thank you for being a part of the podcast
and embracing the public after.
After.
Oh yeah, I'm like ready.
I'm like, oh man.
You helped lighten my load.
You're the best and you look cute in your pink.
Now that we can tell the world it's a girl.
I'm like, I don't know the pink shirts. I know, but look cute in your pink. Now that we can tell the world it's a girl. I was like, I want to wear this to the General Go party.
I don't know the pink shirts.
I know, but we should get you pink.
You have three girls, you gotta wear pink.
You should get me a pink shirt.
It's time. I will get you a pink shirt.
I would wear it.
Hey listen, I really am sorry that you were disappointed
and sad and the outcome didn't go the way you wanted,
but the outcome did go.
It plays better.
The way with our sweet girl, who is almost here, by the way.
Literally by the time this podcast comes out,
she could be here right now.
I don't even know.
This is so crazy.
But our next podcast that Krisha and I will do together,
we'll do the birth story like we've done in the past.
And we would love to share how we came up with her name.
That still is not revealed yet,
so we'll get to that the next time.
But on this maternity leave, I have some epic guests.
We've recorded so many amazing podcasts
that I can't wait for you guys to listen to.
Just really solid conversations with people
that I look up to so much, and tons of them even flew here
to even have the conversations.
And so next few months of Well That's Good
is going to be so good.
And I can't wait for you guys to listen.
And next time we see you, hopefully we'll have
a little baby girl in our arms
and telling you her name story.
So thank you all for following along this journey.
And we love to see how excited you guys are
for our family growing.
It honestly means so much to us
and even just y'all's interest this whole time.
And is it a boy, is it a girl?
Has meant so much and been so, so sweet and so fun.
So you guys are the best
and we're so grateful for how you love our family
and we love you guys. you
