Wild Time.
Yeah, baby. Woo!
Ha!
Oh my God.
We got to talk about this first story because this happened to me yesterday.
Let's do it.
Let's get right into it.
Let's get into the news.
Okay, first of all, this is the Wild Times.
It's a podcast.
We do it together.
We're three friends who talk about shenanigans and animals.
Well, animals, yeah.
Shenanibles.
All right, Kyle, give me a jingle.
That's funny.
I didn't mean to just skip all the banter, but this happened literally yesterday to me.
People walk the underground.
People walk the hands.
this what do we got so yesterday on on my short gap at home my wife uh i was on set and my wife
said come and meet me when you wrap up at the zoo and i was like great you know i spent all day every
day around animals let's go to the zoo on my off day um and so at 3 30 i met jess at the zoo and she was
there with her friend uh alicia and their six year old and so roads and um rider the six year olds were
off playing and the moms were talking
and I of course was supposed to be watching
the baby. What a mistake.
Well, and this is really where
you have to say Jessica's the one to blame.
Yikes, bro. By letting
you watch the baby, right? 100%. You should
know better. Weaponizing
competence.
Anyway, I get a phone call.
It's work related. So I pick up my phone
and I walk off to take my phone
call. Bro. Screaming at Mitch.
The two-year-old, Reddy, is playing very happily with some snails in the bush
like 20 feet from his brother and his brother's friend.
I take off for the phone call for, swear to God, no more than five minutes.
That's a long time to go away from a journey, bro.
That's insane.
They can die in like 20 seconds.
That's long enough to have 10 kids disappear.
Dude, you're insane, bro.
You know where the story's going.
So I come walking back, I'm like still on my phone.
I get to the hedge where he was sitting playing with snails.
He's not there.
He's gone.
Oh, my God.
He's gone, right?
Dude, that moment is such panic.
Well, okay.
So, funnily enough, I didn't panic at that moment because I was like, ah, he's probably
around the backside of the hedge.
And I could see, like, Jess and Alicia, like, you know, 200 feet away sitting on the lawn
still chatting.
So I, like, go to the backside of the hedge where he picks snails at the Santa Barbara Zoo.
He's not there either.
So I'm like, fuck, I can't tell Jess yet.
So I run over to the other boys, Rhodes and Ryder.
I'm like, hey, where's the baby?
Where's ready?
No idea.
Oh, my God.
So now I'm like, oh, shit.
So I spent about two or three minutes just frantically searching and then I'm like, okay, now I'm panicking.
Yeah, bro.
And we're at the Santa Barbara Zoo.
We are, I swear to God, I swear to God, we're directly equidistant between the gorilla enclosure and the lion enclosure.
Both of which are very enterable by a ton of year.
Oh, yeah, 100%.
You could get through the little fence, bro, and go into the fucking moat.
It's just a little.
It's not, yeah, exactly.
It's not like you would just do it.
But like, if you're two and you're like, I'm an idiot, I'm going to climb up these four bars and topple.
in.
Sure.
Yes, that is crazy.
And so I like run over to Jess and I'm like, I can't find ready.
I can't find ready.
She's like, what?
I asked you to watch it for five minutes.
I'm like, yeah, I don't know where it is.
So all of a sudden, it's a mad panic.
The two six-year-olds are sprinting off in different directions.
Jess and Alicia are sprinting off in different direction.
I'm sprinting off in a different direction.
It took us, I'm not joking, more than 15 minutes.
Holy shit.
And then there was a nice like fully Mexican couple.
When I say Mexican, like they barely spoke any English.
Yeah.
And so through Spangling.
English, they were like, did you see the kid with a big straw hat? And they're like, yeah, he went
that way. And this was like 15 minutes had gone by. Anyway, Santa Barbara was a small town, thank
God. It took us 15, 20 minutes. He had found the preschool class, because there's a class at the zoo
that my son, my older son went to. Yeah, yeah. And he had just sat down with them. Wow.
And the teachers hadn't even noticed. This kid just come wondering in as the preschool group was walking
through it. He's like, other kids.
Wow. And they, like, walked to, like, a little arena area
where they were having a lecture. And he was just
sitting down, playing with the other kids
who were all, like, three and four, and he's two.
Teachers weren't even aware he was there.
Just joined the class.
Bro, what a miracle, because that
could have ended up badly
like this story. You come back
from screaming at Mitch, calling him an incompetent
piece of shit. Yeah.
And you just fired Mitch
over the phone. And you come back
and you can't see your
two-year-old.
Yeah.
Is he two?
Two and a half, yeah.
You look in and he has entered the lion enclosure.
I would have jumped in.
And there's a couple lions and they're looking at him, wagging their tails, getting down into crouch.
What is the move, what's the calculated move to give yourself a chance at getting in and getting him out safely?
I don't think you can do anything.
I mean, I don't know if you've ever been to the zoo and been by the lions with your toddler.
They're just staring at them.
They don't look at you.
They don't look at an adult male at all.
They look like a stolen kit cat.
Yeah.
They only look at the toddler.
I think, you know, you can scream and yell and all of that, but they get that fixation
that cats get where they're looking at something.
Yeah.
The only.
And I don't know how this would ever play out, but I think the only chance you have, you
have two options.
One is to scare the cat enough and the other is to entice it with something more.
So if there was a keeper with a bucket of food or saying you could throw food in one
direction. Maybe the cats would go for that. But I think the only thing you could do is be so bullish and
aggressive that the cats are so startled by it that they're just like, I don't have never seen
anything come at me like this ever. And you would be. Like even thinking in my head right now,
like, I'm a huge puss. But like if my kid did that, I'd jump right in. You have to. I would, I would have no.
But if you tried to like quietly jump in or like reach down, like come on, buddy, give me your hand,
that's the worst thing you can do in my opinion. Like you need to come in like a fucking.
Get the fuck out of here and like rubble them and then run away.
And they'll be startled and back off and then probably territorial and attack.
Throw the kid up through the fucking thing.
But if you have enough time to startle them.
Because nobody does that.
If you're at the zoo, you're kind of quiet or maybe there's a kid running around.
But you're not like screaming at the animal.
And the caretakers never run in and go.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Do you throw some rocks maybe?
I don't want to think about the toddler anymore in the lion.
I swear to God.
So we were closer to the lion place than the.
the gorilla place.
And I,
the gorilla has some
glass who would take more climbing.
But the lion place
he could very easily
just like pop over the fence
into.
It was the only thing
going through my head
the whole time.
If he had to have gone
into one,
you would have preferred gorilla.
For sure.
Yeah.
There's a chance
the guerrillas might have
just like give him a hug.
There's videos of kids,
like a kid falling into a gorilla
enclosure and it like picking him up
and cuddling.
Right, right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So there's a chance,
but not with a fucking lion.
A lion's looking at that
like a piece of meat.
100%.
Oh,
Yeah.
That very first one, that ABC story.
Yeah, this is it.
Let's watch this, dude.
A four-year-old fell into a gorilla enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo.
Yeah, look at this.
Into water.
Oh, my God, this is so fucking just.
This could have been my idiot kid.
Not knowing what's going to happen here.
And the gorilla seems to be very gently trying to help him out of the water.
100%.
He's like, hey, what's going on?
That's a male gorilla too, right?
Oh, yeah, big old male silverback.
Yeah, silverback, bro.
The alpha of the fucking place probably.
Crazy.
Dude, look at the buttock.
Oh my God.
This is so, this is amazing to watch me.
He's being so gentle.
Look at him.
He's like,
there's no interest in hurting that kid.
No, he's like, I don't know what you're doing here, but it's not a good place for you.
And then, so how does this resolve?
I think he like hands him to a caretaker or something.
I don't really remember.
Wow.
He's like guarding the kid right now.
Yeah.
He thinks that the kid's in jeopardy and he's like, they killed this gorilla.
Did they?
Yeah.
Oh, it says it right there.
Is this the Harambi?
thing?
I don't think so.
This might be, actually.
Is it?
Cincinnati Zoo?
I don't know.
Was Hibrami?
Cincinnati Zoo?
Why wouldn't they just trank it?
The only thing I remember about Hirombi was Dix out for Hirombi.
Why wouldn't they just trank the gorilla?
I know what that is?
No.
What is Dix out for Hirambi?
Hold on.
You know what that is.
God, damn it.
Try to ask a question.
Sorry.
I just, I remember a gorilla got killed and then it was Dix out for Haraabe.
That's the only thing I remember.
This is Hirombi.
It is fucked.
It was being so gentle.
God, that could end it.
That's,
That's probably why everybody got so upset.
Yeah, dude.
I never knew that full Harambe store.
I just saw the memes and shit.
I never watched the actual video.
No, you just pulled your dick out.
Oh, man, that's fucking terrible.
Why didn't they just, why didn't they just fucking darting?
Damn, we're dumb, by the way.
We should have known that.
Well, a dart.
So a lot of people don't realize this, too.
When you dart an animal, it's very stressful for the animal.
Right.
Because all of a sudden it gets jabbed with something and it's loud and doesn't know what's going on.
So it could attack.
It's much more likely in the, and it takes.
It takes three to six minutes for a dark to take effect.
It's not like they just fall over.
I thought they did.
No, no.
So it's, uh...
Man.
It's...
That's fucking horrible.
Can we talk about something else?
Well, I'm just kind of annoyed that, like, I'm embarrassed is the right word.
None of us knew that.
We're all watching.
I've never seen the video.
I don't think I had either.
Because I think I knew there was video, but I thought it was going to be video of them
shooting Harambi.
I'm literally going to buy a Haramish or is it too late?
No, there's a six out for Harambi tank top that we can bring back right now.
Dude, if there was another animal con, I feel like we could just wear those.
I will.
That would be the perfect place.
How does the internet phrase like what is dicks out for Harambi in your search results?
I wonder what chat GPT would say.
Tix out for Arambi is a 2016 viral internet meme and catchphrase originating for the iconic satirical, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Why is your dick out?
Oh, I just thought you were supposed to pull your dick out and say this is for Harambe.
That's what I was doing.
I guess I guess I was the only one.
Well, but speaking of Forrest's kid almost going into the lion cage.
Right.
Yeah, there was a news story.
This happened in Hershey Park in Pennsylvania earlier in April, actually.
A 17-month-old child crawled under the fence and put his hand into the wolf's enclosure.
At zoo America in Pennsylvania.
And what happened?
Did they bite him?
Yeah, the wolf came over and grabbed the child by its hand.
Jesus.
So bystanders intervened, pulled them away.
The injuries were minor.
That's good.
And guess where the parents were?
On the phone.
They were both on their phones.
Twenty-five.
30 feet away.
Exactly.
And I hadn't even read that when I was telling my story.
I'm a pathetic person.
But see, I like, like, I think what happened with Harambe because, like, the zoo came
out here and was like, that's a wolf being a wolf, like, the wolf did nothing wrong.
Right.
Like, I think the Harambe incident, like, zoos are going to, like, get the zoo's are going to, like,
get the animals back.
Well, the thing with the Harambi incident is like, what, don't get me wrong.
I feel for Harambi, very much so.
And you could see how gentle he's being.
And I'm sure that's why everybody went crazy.
Yeah.
But what is the resolve there?
It's like, you're the zoo guy and you're like, we got to save that fucking kid.
Yeah.
Shoot the gorilla.
No.
Do you know what I mean?
I understand, like, in a panic, like, get the kid.
What else do you do?
I mean, you just wait and play it out?
So apparently he,
Because people were screaming and making frantic noises and causing a scene, he started becoming more and more erratic.
Oh, interesting. And that you kind of see that when he's defensive and he's got the kid behind him.
Yeah.
Do you see that he's like almost guarding the kid? That's really a people story. Because if the people hadn't done that.
Right. It's not like he was all of a sudden just going to rag doll the kid if everything had been calm.
I mean, they kind of should just put a sign at the front of every zoo. And when you buy your tickets, they go, just so you know our policy.
Yeah. Right. If someone goes into the enclosure is tough titties.
Oh yeah, see there, it got a little
What it do?
It gets a little like
You're coming with me
That's where they shoot him
That's where they shoot him is when he starts to get
A little bit aggressive
That's interesting
So they gave him time I mean, you know
Well, they were probably sourcing a rifle
Oh yeah
No, they probably had a gun trained on him
Fucking the whole
They got a gun there
Right away, bro
You don't think so at the zoo?
Have you ever been to the fucking zoo?
You can't even find a fucking popcorn stand.
Bro, have you ever been to the zoo?
They have a fucking
gun somewhere. Absolutely
fucking not, dude. Well, I wouldn't, I mean,
you've literally been like probably behind the scenes at
every fucking zoo, so you're right. Okay, so first
of all, first of all, I just want to argue
because it's fun to argue, but first of all,
every zoo in North America, at least,
is run by a bunch of the sweetest
ladies you'll ever meet. Yeah.
There's like one male zoo employee
and 400 women at every
single zoo. They're not walking
around with fucking assault rifles, bro.
You're exaggerating. I was saying
like they got a fucking, you know,
an AK under glass
They fucking break it
At the headquarters
By the gate
30 minutes away
By every aggressive
fucking animal
No way dude
You keep thinking that
For your own piece of mind
There's no way
I'm wrong
But they should after that incident
Geez
Wasn't there a story of
I think it was at the San Francisco zoo
God damn
I think it was a chimp
Got loose
And ripped an old man's testicles off
Oh
But just like
The guy didn't go
into the enclosure. He was just like eating a dipping dots. Oh, man. And a chimp came over and
started biting him and then ripped his nuts off. Yeah, that's what they do, right? That's like 25,
30 years ago. Wow. First thing they do is go for the nuts, isn't it? Chimps are crazy, dude.
I actually, here, I'm gonna, uh, that's why Joe Rogan's favorite animal is always talking about
chis. It's like a mean. Where was this? Animal Haven Ranch. And California. 2005,
not the San Francisco Zoo. Yeah, two males, Buddy and Ollie escaped their
cage and attacked
a man named
something St. James and his
wife.
That's a nightmare, bro.
They got,
they escaped.
Yeah, they ripped his
nose and testicles off.
And a foot.
And what ended the wife
get away?
That I don't know.
That's,
that's fucking awful, man.
Wait, what did the
after mass say?
The guy it happened to
is a NASCAR driver.
You serious?
That's what it says.
Oh my God.
His testicle,
his foot is testicles
and his nose.
They go for weird
shit.
I've always heard that.
They go right for
the balls, these chimps.
I've always heard that.
I swear to God, I heard they go right from you heard them.
I've heard that.
Yeah, it's like what they do.
They'll attack your testes.
I have a, I have a query for you.
Probably because do they attack each other that way?
Like, they must.
I mean, it's very emasculating.
They fucking, dude, chimps go to war with each other in the wild.
I think I'm strong enough to rip someone's nuts off.
Do you just?
I think so.
I don't want to find out.
If they were in a hot tub.
Hold on that, Kyle.
Actually.
If they were not doing anything back, you could probably do it.
This is a weird conversation.
This is what I want to bring up.
I literally just saw this headline maybe a week ago.
Oh, yeah.
I saw this chimpanzee civil war.
Yeah, bro.
I thought it was like a fucking Marvel plug.
What's actually going on?
Explan.
Oh, dude, you got to subscribe.
So is this like one troop?
And there's a war going on within the troop?
Okay, so here it is here.
So it's called the Ngoongo conflict.
And it's a chimp war.
Is that wrong?
Do you think?
I just wanted to see if Peter would
Give me a look.
Yeah, fair.
But apparently.
I'm so fascinated by this.
I didn't realize the civil war has been going on since 2015.
Bro, 11 years these fucking chimps have been at war.
200.
But there were 200 of them as individuals that all lived together.
And then they broke off into two factions, a Western group and a central group.
And now they're literally raiding.
And this is literal Planet of the Apes.
Like, they're just murdering each other and going to war with each other.
Do they know what caused the breakup?
Is that in there?
What's it say?
Kyle. It says the key older males
that were peacekeepers died
around the same time, which
they were kind of the glue that held
the groups together. So then there was a power
struggle and new alpha males
emerged and those two created their own
factions because there wasn't
a dominant enough male. Obviously
there wasn't one strong enough. Do you know what I mean?
Says it was the largest chimp
community ever recorded.
So that was part of the problem, was
that they were fighting over food mates.
So this had to happen. Yeah. This is
this is natural, you know, like, what's the law?
Not Newton.
This is what fucking human beings do.
Right.
You get into a group of too many and nature takes over.
We have to bash this back down.
So you get two in conflict and then, you know, you're picking a side.
It's amazing.
They're killing each other's offspring.
They're patrolling the borders of their territory doing ambush attacks.
That's just crazy.
To the other people's territory.
We're literally chimps.
I mean, that, like, 99.
6%.
You know what?
That's our DNA.
We gotta get out of being chimps, man.
Everybody should meditate more.
No, that's wild.
Yeah, this is amazing.
Dude, I'm surprised.
I wonder if anyone's made a documentary
about this, like a high-end natural history.
There is one.
There is a chimp.
Well, I don't know if it's about this,
but there's a very high-end chimp documentary.
Chimp Empire, thank you.
Oh, shit.
Is that about this?
I don't know.
Is that about this?
I don't think so.
There's chimp crazy, which is the Tiger King version.
Which was a very good watch.
Man, this is, this is like...
It follows this group.
Oh, Chimp Empire is about this.
I got to watch this, man.
Yeah, that sounds fascinating to me.
That sounds great.
That one just dapped up the other one after murdering somebody.
This is the most interesting thing we've ever talked about in 10 calendar years.
I'm not even joking.
Well, I got...
Go ahead, Kyle.
I was going to say, like, this has been going on for over 10 years now.
Like, at what point does this resolve?
There would have to be another peacekeeper or something.
It probably won't.
Yeah, I was going to say.
say probably never, right? Because what happened was... Maybe they moved further away? Maybe, but the way I would
envision it is, you know, you had a small troop that grew and grew and grew and grew, and now this is the
process of one troops splitting into two. These two troops will never re-merge into one. Yeah. Does that
make sense? Like, they'll just always be in conflict. If there was more habitat or whatever,
they'd probably separate, but this is no different to any two groups of animals fighting. Well,
happens constantly with wolf packs. Exactly. I think it's just... Split off and splinter off. What I think
makes it unique is that we as humans
have seen the split.
Yeah. Yes. We, as humans, we've never
hit, we've never physically
witnessed two factions forming
out of one group of animals, but it happens all
the time in all different nature's kingdoms
all around the world. We just knew it
as one troop and then all of a sudden it split into two.
Look at the fucking face. They are
terrifying, bro. This message
is sponsored by Raycon. Oh man.
I love these open ear headphones. I literally
have them on all day that I
to places that I forget they're on that I shouldn't have headphones on.
You're one of those guys where you walk down the street and you're like, this guy has headphones on, he's not talking anything.
Because I can hear everything. It's like I'm not wearing headphones and then whenever I want music or I get a call, it's just bam.
I hit the button and now I'm on my call without other people hearing or listening to the music.
You would have those racons implanted into your cranium if you could.
I literally would.
They sit just outside of the ear canal so you get all the sound outside perfectly clear.
They're light.
like I said, they fit really nice.
Dude, I've worn them everywhere.
Jim walks, like I said, even at work and just nobody knows.
There's a reason over 3 million customers are pretty stoked on them.
Well, I'm one of them because I have weird-shaped ears.
We know.
Yeah, the viewers can't see.
No, we talk about it a lot.
No, they're really the only headphones that work for me when I go running that actually stay in my ear.
Over your ear.
Look, now's a great time to try them if you need some new buds.

I used to use nicotine pouches.
And my favorite one was the first one in the morning.
Literally straight from bed to sock drawer where I hit it for my wife.
And it was the best one of the day.
Okay.
But I quit.
I miss it
For months now
Yeah I miss it
You know
Because it was like
For me it was like having a cup of coffee
Yeah
I'm off nicotine
Which I'm really happy about
Because that's you know
Bad for your blood pressure
And all this stuff
So I'm like okay
It's time to quit
I love these ultra pouches
There's no nicotine in these
No caffeine in these
I know they're a new sponsor
I have not tried them
I feel like you should
Well if there's no nicotine
I gladly will
This is this your favorite flavor
I like them all.
Peter's over there popping a watermelon.
Oh, dude, it smells like bubble.
It smells a really nice.
It smells delicious.
Here's the thing, too.
I'm very jet lag currently, so I need a little pick-me-up.
I've had a coffee, but that's-focused boost.
That's not the edge that I'm looking for.
That's right.
Caffeine made me jittery, made me anxious.
So nicotine, obviously, it's known to, you know, produce anxiety.
I really like these ultra pouches.
They get me through the day.
Yeah, I get a little, yeah, very nice.
Really?
They last for a long time.
time, super tasty.
Quite frankly, I used these to quit nicotine.
Yep.
These have altheonine, vitamin B6, and B12.
All plant-based.
Alpha GPC.
Yeah.
Infinity PX, which is a cleaner, smoother, energy booster than caffeine.
Never heard of that.
I will say, I get everything that I need out of these.
I don't do caffeine or nicotine anymore.
I love them if you want to try them.

Guys, I have to tell you something that happened to me on a recent trip. I'm sitting in an airport
on a layover and naturally I pull out my laptop to get some work done. I hop onto the public airport
Wi-Fi, which is something I've done a hundred times and within an hour I'm getting fishing
emails. So I called Peter and he told me, someone must have been on the airport network that was
trying to get people's information. So I asked him, what should I do? Yeah, I told him to get Surf Shark VPN.
It's basically encrypts the entire internet connection. So it blocks anyone from seeing your data or
snooping around in your stuff if you're in a public place like an airport, hotel, or a random cafe.
Yeah. And so now I use it every time I travel. I also realize I can use it to change my virtual
location to get much better deals on flights and hotels when we're booking our expeditions
because it stops those websites from tracking you and jacking up the price.
It's awesome.
Yeah, I use it too.
And one feature I really like is the Surf Shark Alert.
It monitors your email and passwords and immediately notifies you if your information shows up
in a data breach.
And one account also covers all my devices too, my phone, laptop, iPad, everything, which
is huge on a production because there's always gear connected to networks all over the place.

Have you guys seen the
big thing about
getting this group of
2,000 people together
to raid this farm?
I can't remember where it is
in Wisconsin or something.
It's a beagle.
It's like a beagle testing facility.
They're testing on all these beagles
and they've been legally told
that they've been legally told that
have to rehouse these and get these out of there.
No.
I don't know anything about this.
And there's a group of people that got 2,000 people together to go and raid this place because
they're not following the law.
So just grab the dogs and be like, come with me?
Thousands of dogs.
So what?
Yeah, thousands of these beagles.
So people are doing this and they've been going in and doing this.
And this farm, this place put a fucking moat and a wall around to prevent them from going.
So it's turning into like this huge fucking thing.
What are they testing on these dogs?
Yeah, that's what I'm trying.
Well, cosmetics is huge on beagles.
They test everything.
They can fucking burn their eyes.
Is this like a known thing that you use beagles for this?
Yeah, yeah.
Beagles is, they're like the test dog, basically.
What is it that makes beagles?
Do you know?
I don't know.
I'm sure there is a reason for it.
So Ridglin?
Ridgelon?
Ridgelon farms.
But there's no deed.
I don't know.
30 miles outside of Madison.
Yeah, so they're breeding beagles for research.
Right.
So they're not necessarily the research facility.
but they're going to labs.
Right.
And they've been told,
or like there's a legal case against them,
they have to stop doing it,
and they're not following it,
I believe.
But what that means is they're like a terrible puppy mill.
Yeah, exactly.
Like puppy mills in case anybody watching this doesn't know or listening,
if you buy your dog at Petco,
it's come from usually a pretty shitty puppy mill,
like breed the dogs as fast as possible kind of scenario.
Yeah.
Most people in today's world that doesn't get,
that don't get a rescue,
you if you want a good dog, you get it from a breeder, meaning mom and pop have two dogs.
You know, they've done one or two litters ever, and that's it.
And you get a good quality dog.
This is like that gray area where it's not around.
It's just, yeah, it's just bad.
You just pump out dogs and these moms will have, you know, 8, 10, 12 litters, which is awful.
Yeah.
So, I mean, I just wanted to bring some publicity to this piece of shit fucking farm who's doing this testing.
And if you want to join these people and go and fucking go on a raid, they dove in the window.
Dude, they're like.
They're fucking just breaking in, man, and going and doing it.
Like, props to them.
And they're not, like, the cops aren't fucking with them because they're not like,
this company is not complying with the law.
So.
The guy's wearing a pea coat while busting down a door.
I've never seen that.
He's like, got it.
That's like the classic anarchist, dude, neo.
So I almost, uh, I had a fun thing I'm doing next week.
What's that?
A little adventure.
It's, it's unfortunate.
I can't do the full disclosure of what it is, but I'll, I'll give you a little
snapshot.
Ooh.
I'm going,
uh,
going with a very small crew,
uh,
on a military operation.
Wow.
That's cool.
To recover a potential,
an aircraft crash of an unknown craft.
Mm-hmm.
Domestic?
And a foreign country.
Oh, you got it.
I give away everything.
I know.
I'm trying to not get in trouble.
I'll tell you this.
It's somewhere in the mountains in Mexico.
Okay.
Very cool.
And right now there's a team there that's,
securing the site. Okay. So they found the crash for sure. They believe they know where it is.
Gotcha. Yes. And another country is trying to get into the site as well. Is there something on this
plane like of intelligence value? Well, it's, they don't know what the craft is. Oh, wow.
It's a potential UAP. Oh, so it's not like, oh, we shot down this. No, no. Yeah. Interesting.
So it's pretty, go ahead. No, no. I was going to say, it's interesting. It came about very suddenly.
Yeah.
So literally started on Friday of last week of like, hey, we may want to film this.
Yeah.
Found out yesterday that myself and my partner, it's going to be us that are doing it with our production company.
And so I was on calls all morning, like these big meetings, listening to like different groups from different organizations within the government use terms I don't understand.
Yeah, you're like, yep.
Uh-huh.
But this is like real, real shit.
This involves like three-letter agencies and Congress people.
Yeah, it's really fucking crazy.
It's crazy because like I asked one question.
I was like, can we, because we're, the crew is flying with a group of personnel.
Yeah.
And I said, can we put our gear on it?
And they just said, oh, we'll just give you a cargo plane.
We'll just send a cargo plane.
That's pretty cool.
I was like, that's awesome.
We're going to bring way more shit.
And then, you know, when you travel internationally, you know, a big pain in the ass for us is the carnay.
Oh, it's terrible.
So there's something, I didn't know about this until I got into...
Well, you got to explain what Carnay is first.
I didn't know about this until I got into film production.
What's Carnay?
And then I pretended on the first shoot that had a Carnay that I knew it was happening.
Basically, it's a document.
Oh, okay.
That you show when you get there that, you know, because you're showing up with 30 Pelican cases.
Yeah, yeah.
Of gear and drones and stuff.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You have to show them, they check every single thing and they stamp it.
And then when you get back to the U.S., you have to show that what,
was stamped that you had entering that country is what's coming back.
Because otherwise, you're import exporting high value goods.
Okay.
That can be $200,000 in camera gear.
Gotcha.
So you're like, I'm taking it with me in and out of your country.
Just a way for them to register you basically, register all your equipment.
It's always a nightmare.
Oh, it's never works perfect.
Literally in Zimbabwe, I had where the guy started with the top, like, you know,
our carnays will have 250 serial numbers on him.
Yeah.
And he'll, he started with the first number.
and he's like, I need to see
1, 8, 7, 6, 4, 3.
And you're like, I don't know what that is.
It's just something in the stack.
Right, right.
And then he went down by the fourth item.
I was like, listen, dude,
just tell me the bribe number to get us through here.
Yeah, no, it's never fine.
It sucks.
And so I asked, I was like,
because there's someone who's in charge of like the top logistics guy.
And I said, like, do we need a carne?
Like, how does it work?
He was just like, I promise you,
whatever you put on my plane will come back.
Yeah.
And I was like, okay.
That's great.
This is different.
Yeah.
But it's pretty exciting.
I mean, it has potential to make news.
I don't know if they're going to find a UAP that crashed in the mountains of Mexico or not.
But I'm really excited.
It sounds really.
Can I chime in?
Sorry.
Because I know a little bit about it because you were talking to me and I watched something on it.
But like the whole reason that this is a thing.
thing is because they already did an expedition
there and like a very
reputable non-woo-woo
guy like
went there and
was like there's something strange
going on here. Like this isn't
just normal and he's like not a guy
that would ever say that he's like a hardcore
military fucking realist and
he's like I would never fucking
say this but like after I came
out of there like something bizarre is happening
the first attempt was
the first attempt was a failure.
Yeah.
The first recovery attempt and 13 people died.
Wow.
Wow.
During the first attempt.
Holy shit.
I didn't hear that.
It's pretty intense.
It's going to be mostly drones exploring underground.
Like there's a lot of things have to go right for human beings to enter.
You're using a lot of LIDAR.
There's LIDAR drones that are going to be exploring the cave system and mapping it.
Yeah.
So it's like a four-step process before humans can get down there.
Wow.
Wow. But it's pretty, pretty fun. I'm excited. I almost texted you for us, even before this came up.
Yeah. I was thinking about this last week. I was like, man, like, you know, my goal was to, like, start my own company so that I could just, like, work from home and have other people go do stuff.
I could make more money. Same. But then I was like, man, like, it is a little boring. Like, I get really bored of just like, I've been at home a lot. Yeah. And like, man, yeah, I was, I was going to text you. I was like, man.
I'll come out and just PA just to get out in the fucking field.
Dude, you say when, man.
I'd love to do some of those things again.
I pitched a show to Dogleg a little bit.
And I'm curious to get both of your takes and Kyle too, maybe, take on this.
I met a guy, this was going back like four years ago now, who owned a bike shop in Idaho.
And I was like, oh, that's cool.
And then I was like, what do you do for fun?
And he's like, well, when I'm not running the bike shop, I go into Papua New Guinea.
with my buddy who's a ex-U.S. military guy. This guy's also ex-military. I don't know what the buddy
does. And we tracked down World War II U.S. aircraft that were shot down over the Pacific,
find the dog tags on the corpses, and return them to their families. Holy shit.
And I was like, that's fucking awesome. And he's like, yeah, we've saved like, we've recovered like
23 dog tags and return them. And I'm like, does anybody hire you? Do you, do you, how does this work?
He's like, nope.
Just doing it for fun.
Just do it.
You know, like we do all this crazy amounts of research.
You show me in his back room of his bike shop.
We do these crazy amounts of research.
Like, these are the areas we know planes were shot down.
We don't know the specifics.
We just go in.
We hike for days.
You know, then we find a plane up in a tree because a local said it was there.
And we climb up and we pull the dog tags off the corpses.
Then we find the next of kin.
Knock on their door and hand them the dog tags.
That's living, man.
Isn't that so cool?
Yeah, bro.
It's so random, too.
like you're running a little bike shop
and all of a sudden it's like
explodes into this giant background
of like this adventure.
Imagine the exhilaration of like
seeing a plane.
Yeah,
sitting on the mouth side or...
Oh, you're like, holy fuck.
There it is.
There's a wing.
Yeah, exactly.
And then you're like giving some
closure to all these families and shit, you know?
And he, uh, yeah, I mean,
it was so interesting because he told me...
Why is that?
What Kyle pulled up?
Oh, how you're laughing at me.
What do you pull up?
It downed plain PNG and it got him a bunch of PNG files.
Oh.
Like dot PNG files.
But yeah.
So he was telling me this guy how, you know, some people like he knocks on their door.
He hands him the dog tags are like, go away.
I don't know who this is.
I don't want it.
Other people like burst into tears.
They're like, I've heard so many stories about my granddad.
Yeah.
Said one person, and this is a part of the show that I wanted to do.
He said one person he like couldn't get in because it was this huge gate and this
unbelievable mansion.
Yeah.
And finally he got in, and the person gave him a million dollars as a thank you.
Wow.
And he's like, that's funded us for the next like five years of expeditions.
Yeah.
And I was like, and this is everything.
He's like everything you can imagine.
Like these people just say, fuck off.
Thank you.
I'll give you money.
They break into, they throw funerals, like all kinds of stuff.
Wow.
Yeah, it was such a cool guy.
What a weird hobby.
Like, amazing.
I wonder how you even get that idea.
You got to be like upset.
You're in the,
you're like obsessed with planes or something at first.
Yeah.
And then you're like going to find.
Find cool planes.
Or maybe they were out hiking and found a dog tag.
And they were like, holy shit.
And they returned it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You do it once.
That's fascinating, man.
Yeah.
I thought that.
And the stories he had, obviously, is like, he's going in these remote regions,
talking to villagers.
Have you seen a plane?
They're like, what's a plane?
He's like, oh, metal bird.
And they're like, oh, we know where there's one in a tree.
Wow.
You know, like, yeah, it was really cool.
I really wish somebody had bit on it.
I thought we put it together really well.
But, yeah, nobody was interested in.
Oh, you still got it in the chamber.
I thought, I forgot that you were saying that you pitched it.
No, I pitched it as a TV show because I thought what these guys did was so, so cool.
It's like a feel-good adventure story.
And the closest one I got was, you know, one of the networks and I won't say which one, was like, well, how can we guarantee they're going to find the dog tags?
And I was like, you can't.
That's the whole point of the adventure.
Right.
And they're like, well, we can't, you know, we can't do a show where we don't know what's going to happen in the end.
And I'm like, this is a real adventure, you know?
Right.
Like, anything could happen while looking.
for the fucking plane.
Yeah.
I mean,
that's like,
and that's always the thing,
like,
and why networks pass on stuff
is they don't,
they don't want you to recreate something that's already happened.
Right.
But that you must be able to guarantee that the thing you're trying to do will,
will be a success.
Yeah.
At the same time,
it just makes no sense.
No.
Like,
that's the equivalent of being like,
I won't watch The Bachelor unless I'm guaranteed to see them fuck.
Yeah.
Exactly.
Like,
you're just like watching people dating and you don't know how it's going to end.
Like,
you know,
you're watching people.
look for Bigfoot.
Yeah.
Like,
I don't understand that, though,
because we get passes on stuff all the time because they're like,
we're like,
we've like essentially solved this crime.
There's these three more things to do.
Yeah,
unless you can guarantee the guys in handcuffs at the end.
Right.
And you're,
I mean,
but then some of them get through like Extincter Alive got through.
We couldn't guarantee anything,
you know,
finding Bigfoot did 16 fucking seasons of finding nothing.
Yeah.
So who knows?
Yeah,
it's interesting.
Are you guys watching any,
have you seen any natural history shows recently?
new ones that have come out.
I was just talking to a group of people about this the other day.
That genre is dead.
It sure feels like it, dude.
I don't like this.
I'm not saying this is a positive thing.
And I'm not even saying this like, oh, there's market opportunity or anything.
Like, what the fuck has happened?
Yeah.
Like, what happened?
Like, dude, the last good natural history doc I saw was the fucking Yellowstone thing you did.
Oh, yeah.
And like, no offense, but that wasn't everywhere.
You know what I mean?
Like, it did well.
But like, yeah.
What the fuck happened?
happening like planet earth's gone blue planet's gone the last planet earth i didn't even this is me like
i'm fucking obsessed with this stuff yeah i didn't even know it had come out until like two weeks after it
come out yeah yeah no me neither i'm like how is how have i not heard about it's because it's because bro
everything has been condensed into your curated instagram feed and that's all we fucking look at like
there's no way to market everything is marketed specifically to people although that said you should
have been marketed the the blue planet thing because of all that
animal shit you watch. By the time, okay, when Blue Planet Earth
1 came out, there was like four to six months of excitement
and anticipation. Like, oh my God, I can't wait, I've seen these sequences.
Like, everybody get together, let's tune in and watch this. I admit like,
you know, planet Earth 2, whatever, same, maybe not quite the same scale, but still
like I knew months in advance it was coming out. Life, life, all of them,
Blue Planet, and then by Planet Earth 3, I didn't even know it came out until two weeks
after it had come out. Yeah, I'm not even sure that I knew.
knew it can't exactly and this is my whole world right like and that's more a comment it's not a
comment on bbc or david am or anyway it's more a comment on like people's interest you know but it just
it was just like i don't know it's crazy everybody's so fucking caught up in all the bullshit now man i
feel like with everything going on like dude i'm i was at the the fucking pump today and it's
like eight dollars per gallon for diesel and i'm like yeah i saw that today as well how are fucking
diesel truckers who go across the
country paying $8 a gallon. Everything's
going to cost like $200 and I'm
just thinking like people just
everybody's caught up and fucking just everything
else. But then, okay, so
I'm going to make an argument for something
different and then argue against myself, which is that
the argument is the whole attention span
thing. It's like, well, who's going to sit through
a two-hour natural
history documentary now where you spend
20 minutes on a troop of monkeys or 10 minutes
on a blue whale or whatever? Yeah.
Okay, yes. I agree. Everybody's
attention spans are shorter, everything's TikTokified.
But at the same time, like, Taylor Sheridan can make a fucking hour.
That's true.
Two guys hanging out on horseback having a drama.
That's true.
And you're like glued.
So there is that.
What is that?
I didn't see that.
I'm talking about like Yellowstone.
Yellowstone, the spin-off, all the Taylor Sheridan shows.
Right, right, right.
Okay, yeah.
And not just that.
I mean, you know, there's a bunch of, dude, I don't know if any of you guys
have watched like one battle after another, which I don't know if it won or didn't
win the Academy Award.
The new Leonardo of the Cabber.
I think it did win, yeah.
Yeah, it's nothing happens for most of the movie, you know?
Like the first hour of the movie, you're waiting for something to actually happen.
Yeah.
And, you know, the point is, yeah.
One of the best line, one of the best line reads of all time is in that movie.
What, what read is that?
Are we going to get copyright fucked if we play a clip of the movie?
We're commenting on it.
Keep it short.
You can play like five seconds.
Did you watch the movie?
I did.
It's good, right?
It's pretty good.
It sucks in the beginning.
Do a few small beers.
Oh.
Yeah, it's really good.
It's so good.
The cop pulls them over.
Yeah.
Let's see. Let's see.
So for context here, what's the actor's name?
Benizio Del Torre has just been pulled over by the cops.
It's just the way he says it.
Have you had anything?
Trash.
You sure about that?
Yes, ma'am.
You've been drinking today?
I've had a few.
A few what?
You small beers.
What's a small?
beer.
It's just a little six-ounce can of beer.
Irrelevant.
It's not a cut water.
Also, Sean Penn's character in that movie's fucking awesome.
He's crazy.
But the point is, to go back to the thing, it's like the argument is nobody's watching
natural history because nobody has the attention span for it.
But then there are still these really long, boring fucking, and I don't think that movie
was boring.
I don't think Yellowstone and the spin-offs are boring.
But they are boring.
Nothing happens in half the episodes.
And everybody's fucking watching those.
So I don't know what's happening to natural.
the king of that.
You'd go like three episodes where nothing would happen.
Exactly.
You'd be so pissed off.
Oh,
you're right.
Watching it.
Oh, man,
that was back in the day when you'd watch it on Sunday.
I came to your fucking house to watch it with people.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah,
forgot.
And then you would have like two to three per season that didn't do much for you.
Yeah.
And then you're just pissed all week.
Especially if you had people over for it.
You're like,
nothing if I'm going to happen out.
And then they're just talking the whole time.
And you'd be all fired back up.
I do.
think part of the
dearth of natural history stuff that's being
made is on
the buyer's side, on the network
side, because I do think there's
an appetite for it, but
they, instead of making
one every two years,
they're making one every five years
and spending ten times the money. That's probably
the problem. And so that's the whole thing, is they're like,
oh, no, we like, tried to pitch one
to like Disney, you know, Disney.
National Geographic, whatever.
And they were like, oh, we've, we've already committed a hundred million dollars to this one about
this pride of lions.
We're following them for 10 years.
Wow.
And so it's like, oh, okay.
So that's it for the next 10 years?
So yeah, it's like, what if you, you don't need to spend that much, but nobody, they don't
believe it.
They're like, no, you do.
You need to build and invent new cameras.
I have a story about that.
I think we've talked about, about someone that you and I both despised at Smithsonian.
who's no longer there.
Yeah, yeah.
She,
probably physically.
No, God, no.
In the ass.
So I had a pitch with Smithsonian
that went really well.
They love the concept.
They love the show.
And their head of natural history was British, right?
Because everybody in America
thinks that the only people
that know how to make natural history media is British.
Tell me I'm wrong.
No, it's 100% true.
It's not even a joke.
No, it's crazy.
And I don't know that this world.
They'll ask you if they can shop your idea to a British company.
Wow.
And then give you like a 2% of it.
Yeah.
Not joking. It's crazy.
They've got this thing in their head.
And I have no idea if this woman had a single ounce of talent or not.
I don't know, but she was not a very pleasant person to deal with.
Regardless, we made it all the way through.
Like the show was basically greenlit.
Like we met with the head of the network.
He loved it.
Everything else.
And then it came down to the details with this lady that him and I are referring to at
Smithsonian.
and she canceled the show.
Why?
Budget was on thing,
everything was good,
because the schedule was too tight.
Wow.
I said,
which I thought was fucking awesome,
and I knew that I could do this
as someone who's worked with animals,
that I could deliver the entire show
in three months of shooting.
And she's like,
we've never once accepted
a natural history project
that's shot for less than two years.
And I was like,
wasn't that great for you guys?
Oh, wow.
She wanted the schedule to be long.
Yeah,
with her.
Not schedule.
She thought our budget was too small.
Yeah.
And then didn't take us seriously.
It was like,
I suggest you team up with seasoned producers.
Yeah.
I basically had the same experience.
And I'm like,
lady,
I know I can do this.
And isn't that a great thing
that I just saved you guys months?
What were you trying to do?
What a sign?
It was a natural history documentary
on the invaders of the Everglades.
So it was told from the perspective
of all the invasive species
coming into the Everglades
and taking over the Everglades
ecosystem. And it was really fun and really well written and really thought out and the animals
had voices and they loved it. And then this woman canceled it over. And I tried to explain to her,
this is a seasonality thing. You can't shoot it for two years straight. I don't care what the
other producers have lied to you and said, we have to shoot for two years straight. There is a six-month
window that I need to shoot everything and then the show's done. Yeah. And she's like, no, you don't know
what you're doing. She might have saved you because you didn't want to go to the Everglades for three
months. I wouldn't have. Yeah, that's true. Camera guys. Yeah, that's true.
Quick question. Is something weird going on with Fern the Tortoise? Anything in the news or
anything weird? Like, in danger? You're saying that, like, there must be, but I'm not aware of anything.
Somebody sent me a message and like people are crazy. So this could just be insane. But,
and it probably is. A dude said, I need your help to get into contact with Forest. I don't know the
people personally, but I was watching a video on YouTube. And I think I know a way we can save Fern
the Galapagos tortoise.
She's very saved.
Save her from what?
I don't know.
I was, I should have probably looked it up, but I was like, I'm just going to ask you.
She is currently, check if anything's going on with firm, please.
Nothing is going on with her.
She is currently sitting in the Faustle Lorena breeding center.
It's like she came off of a deserted island and went to a fucking mansion with all you can
eat buffets.
How drunk was this dude then?
I couldn't tell you.
Must be.
Let me see.
see what time. I mean, the last news is from
2021, which was I'm pretty sure
when we found her. So should I text back?
Were you drunk at 838 a.m.?
Yeah, I only had five, four locals. There was some other
recent Galapagos Tortoise news. I thought it was
good news. I thought it was a rewilding project, but
I don't really know. But no, I don't know what this guy's talking about.
I asked him, are you drunk at 830 a.m?
Now he's going to try to kill you.
Yeah, this is what I said. He has sent me several messages
that I've never looked at. God damn it.
Every fucking news site's behind a paywall now.
It's so frustrating.
It didn't used to be any at all.
It used to be zero.
But then people stopped reading newspapers, I suppose.
Exactly.
Yeah, this is the news that I saw.
One of the Floriana Island tortoise got re-released.
It's really not that big a news.
They've been breeding them and had them.
Okay.
So there's no danger.
No, but this is completely unrelated.
Unless that guy knows about something.
The Floriana, who I would call Floor, was not the Fernandina, who we called Fern.
It's completely unrefewated.
Well, I asked him if he's drunk. Let's see what he says.
Let's have him get back to us pretty soon here.
I'm assuming he's going to, like, tell me what he's talking about at some point.
All right, Kyle, let's play a game. Let's play a game. What kind of game you got? Let's play a game, Kyle.
How about top three? Do you like that? Yeah, that's good.
Top three DFL. What's the category, Kyle?
So, going off of the natural history documentary, we're just going to do top three DFL documentaries in general.
So could be a feature, could be a docu-se.
series.
Sure.
Anything you want.
Oh, I like that a lot.
Okay.
I'm always, by the way, I'm always in the mood for one.
A documentary?
A docu-series, a documentary.
I'm with you.
When I go to Netflix, it's 100% I'm clicking on a docu-series.
The problem is...
Oh, 100%.
The gamut of documentaries.
Oh, yeah.
A good one is so good.
Yeah.
And a bad one is utter garbage.
Yeah.
And there's so many garbage ones.
Yeah.
All right, I'll go first.
I'm happy to do this.
Okay, coming in at number three.
really easy for me.
Probably a lot of people's number one, Tiger King.
It's great.
It was a sleeper for me.
I had no idea.
Because I don't know if you guys remember,
when Tiger King came out,
there was no hype about it.
There's nothing.
It just dropped.
When we first started the podcast,
one of the,
we had guests,
like the second or third episode
was like a dude who worked
was one of the camera guys.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah.
That's in our library.
That's like number three or four.
And I remember we all watched Tiger King
so we could talk.
about it. Yeah, it was great. We interviewed them over the phone. That's right.
Dude, yeah. No, Tiger King, I mean, it came out during COVID. I sat down and put the first episode on
at like 8 p.m. And I think Jess was already asleep. And I stayed up until like 5 a.m. watching it.
I just couldn't stop. It was very bingy. So Tiger King at number three. Number two, this is going to be
snoozy and I feel bad, but it's just, it's the truth. Number two is blue planet. Yeah, yeah.
It's great. It's just, it's ocean, it's beautiful. It's, it's,
everything you want.
And then, of course,
coming in at number one is planet Earth.
Yeah.
Now, planet Earth 1 and 2,
we did just talk about this.
Planet Earth 3, I've seen,
but Planet Earth 1 and 2.
Planet Earth 1 is just,
that sequence with the Galapagos racers
and the iguana,
there's some just unbelievable stuff in there.
Yeah.
DFL, a recent,
a recent find,
not going to go over well.
Let me warn you.
I had like six friends
at our Friendsgiving
in December, January,
or whatever it was, tell me you have to watch this.
Yeah.
The fucking Diddy documentary.
Oh, I tried watching it.
It's unwatchable.
I couldn't get through it.
It is un...
I think the problem is I just don't care
about any of the people in it.
Yeah, exactly.
And I'm just not invested.
But like, if you make a good documentary,
at least educate the audience enough
on the people so that they're invested in the people.
Yeah.
This is just like almost assuming you know everything
about like P. Diddy and 50 cent and all this.
And outside of them being musicians,
I don't know anything about these people.
Yeah.
And so I just like, I just couldn't get into it.
I was, it was unwatchable.
I hated it.
That's a good pick.
Okay.
I'll go next.
All right.
Top three.
I'm going to go, man, I have four that are in contention.
It's tough off the top of the head.
It is.
All right.
I can't think of a fucking BFL.
I'm going to go number three McMillions.
Oh, I've never seen it.
Oh, that one was great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's so good.
Have you seen it, Kyle?
No.
Oh, it's a must watch.
Try and download it if you can for your flight.
I will.
McMillions.
is a documentary about, remember how McDonald's used to do Monopoly?
And if you got boardwalk and park place, you want a million dollars?
Yeah.
Someone was fucking scamming it.
Yeah.
Oh, interesting.
They realized that there was a scammer and that somehow people knew where the boardwalk piece was going to go.
And so the FBI did a sting where they pretended they were making a movie.
Oh, wow.
And it's awesome.
They have like footage from it.
They have all the original people.
It's done in a way where it's very funny.
It moves really quick.
I got to watch it.
It's really good.
I'm going to download it today.
Number two, I'm going to go to the jinx.
Oh, never seen it.
Damn it.
Fucking great.
It's so good.
I got a whole new watch list.
It's the one about Robert Durst where he can, well, there's an amazing ending.
Yeah, the ending is so good, bro.
Really well done.
Really well done.
And number one, my personal favorite is called the smartest guys in the room.
Oh, yeah.
It's about the Enron.
Yeah.
Okay.
And it's just so fucking well done.
The writing is so good.
And you just get to see how these fucking assholes just fucking ruined people.
And just skis their way to the top.
Yeah.
It's crazy.
Really, really good.
You can't believe it.
Really like holds your hand through how this like giant scam went down.
Yeah.
It's great.
DFL.
I don't remember what it's called maybe five years ago.
there was a documentary
documentary about Katie Perry.
Sounds really bad.
I actually like a lot of her songs.
Like my wife and kid listen to her.
I got to look this up.
I like her songs.
It's a two-hour documentary
that obviously she had final say over.
Yeah.
It's just two hours of interviews
of people saying how amazing she is.
It's just two hours of her underlings
being like, no one in the world has ever inspired me to work harder than Katie.
And then they cut to someone else and they're like, Katie sleeps one minute a day.
And she's working.
And eight of those hours are for charity.
And it's just two hours of that.
I was like, how did this get made?
That's crazy.
It sucks.
Oh, man.
If you want to hate watch something, watch this.
Oh, man.
I had to do a little refresher.
So I have my list here.
But my number three is free solo.
That's good.
seen it's a great one. I've watched it like five times. Yeah, really good. And Free Solo was like,
that was not a thing. Nobody knew what that was. Like a guy climbing rocks with no ropes or anything.
So I thought it was really cool how like it was this and it turned into this whole thing where people were,
it actually got me to start rock climbing for a while. Yeah, I remember. And I was just like,
dude, this is, it's insane watching him like climb up through these cracks and do this shit. He's got no
ropes on. He could die at any minute. It's really like it's crazy. And it's well.
done. It's done well. They filmed
it well and it moves and it's
nice. And he's like Alex
Honnold is so weird and emotionless
and you still care. Definitely.
Which means it's really well made. Right. And he's like
living in the van. He's got his relationship
going on. She's watching him do this. So you're getting that
whole perspective like they got a kid now.
Yeah, it's pretty cool. Number two
was making a murderer. I don't know if you guys remember that one. Yeah, it was
great. It was really good. With the guy who went to jail
who and like it was it was based on a confession from kind of a slow kid yeah it was huge i mean yeah it's good i think
they did like eight episodes and i think it should have been four i do remember it was really slow but i
really enjoyed it as well i tried to make two seasons they did even yeah it was such a big hit i only
watched the first season i was very captivated by it yeah uh number one fahrenheit nine eleven man
fucking love that movie by michael more it's a it's an old one documentary yeah it was a documentary
about basically Michael Moore breaks down how 9-11 was caused.
Well, not, well, not necessary.
He does allude to that, but it's about how the Bush administration used 9-11 to go to war to
stay in power and keep them in power.
And it's just, it's like, you're like, oh, yeah, like that is what they did for sure,
whether or not you believe it is a conspiracy, they let it happen or whatever.
the aftermath of what they did when it happened,
they manipulated it so that they could keep power
and use it to stay in power.
Sure.
So I thought that was really good.
My DFL was fire.
God, I just fucking...
Oh, the fire festival?
I liked it because it was fun to watch,
but I wanted to kill the guy.
Yeah, he was terrible.
I think it just made me angry,
and I was just, like, mad when I was watching it
and you had negative vibes.
Dude, I thought it was great.
But it does make you angry.
You just said, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That was a good watch, though.
Do you remember super-sized me?
Yeah.
That was so gross, but like, you couldn't look away.
All that movie did was make me hungry for McDonald's.
I know.
You're like, I want a supersized fries.
By the way.
He's dead, this guy.
No, he's not.
Is he?
I think so.
Morgan Spurlock, didn't he die?
I don't think he died, but it came out that the ad, click on him.
At the time, he was a raging alcoholic.
Yeah, he died.
He did?
Holy shit.
When did he die?
A couple years ago.
He, he, he, he got.
He thought like he had a big downfall.
He was like faking stuff.
Then he got canceled for being like, I think a bad guy and then he died.
Oh, bummer.
Well, because he was an alcoholic.
So the test results when he was doing that movie were like he was drinking like 20 drinks a night.
Yeah.
Remember because the end was like your liver is failing.
Yeah.
After ate McDonald's for 30 days.
And he wasn't that much fatter either.
Exactly.
He was fatter.
Don't get me wrong.
He was alcoholic fat.
He had just like a gut.
The punch.
Yeah.
But he also had a great month where he just ate McDonald's.
It's fucking delicious.
I didn't know he fell from the graces so hard.
He did, yeah.
He had a big fall off.
That was a wild podcast, man.
We talked about a lot of shit.
We really did.
That was fun.
