Will Cain Country - Did Argentina Cross the Line at the World Cup Final? (ft. Kayce Smith)

Episode Date: July 20, 2026

Argentina suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Spain to close out the World Cup, but the only thing more embarrassing than the loss was the team’s behavior afterward. Barstool’s Kayce Smith ...joins Will & The Crew to break down the post-match melee before tackling a surprisingly difficult question: Is AOC actually as dumb as she seems? Plus, Kayce and Will react to Hasan Piker delivering a Hitler-esque speech in a Mao Zedong costume, the drama over airport cancellation fees at President Donald J. Trump International Airport, and Olive Garden somehow becoming the face of voter ID. Starting point is 00:01:06 You know my theory. You heard my theory. There's three kinds of guys in the world. And to edit it for FCC purposes, as this is syndicated out on radio, they are A-Holes, Ricks, and Tools. The real question is, and why I'm talking about it today, is which one is Argentina? With Casey Smith from Barstool. Will Kane Country streaming live with the Will Cain Country.
Starting point is 00:01:44 channel, the Wheelcame Facebook page, but always here. Just hit follow at Spotify or on Apple. Two-a-day stand, Tenfold Pat. And we're joined today by the host of the Barstall College Football Show and the Pro Football Football Show over at Barstall. It's Casey Smith. Hi. I'm in Texas still.
Starting point is 00:02:01 You are? You're never going to get rid of me. How's it been? A month? Three weeks? Two weeks? Two weeks, but then I have another week and a half. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:07 So just all of July. I'm just here. So you can't take away my Texas card. But it is. That's feeling normal I'm with Dan. in New York doing this. So it feels very weird. Have you enjoyed being in Texas? Yes, I have. In July, when it's hot as sin.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Well, I can just send my son out with my parents. Yeah, it is. You know this. When it's really hot in New York, you can't escape it. At least here, you're in your car the whole time you have to walk. So I enjoy that part. Everybody, you know, the same, we're in air conditioning. Like, the hot factor is walking from your car into your office. I did take my son to the beach this past weekend with a bunch of our friends.
Starting point is 00:02:42 What beach? We went to Galveston, which I have never been to the beach in Galveston, which is kind of crazy. I grew up going to the beach at South Padre Island, so this was a whole new experience for me, but I forgot how quickly you burn in Texas. Do you find that Charles Barkley is right about Galveston? Have you seen him? Oh, I've seen it. Yeah, no, he's not wrong.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Yeah. He's not wrong. He's not wrong. He's not wrong. There was a lot of great people watching for my girlfriends and I on the beach for me. Galveston has some cool to it because it's historical, although it was wiped out by one of the biggest hurricanes in America. I think it was Hurricane Isaac. I've written books about it. I mean, thousands and thousands of people died. But some historical buildings remain. And it gives it some character. It's also
Starting point is 00:03:24 the closest one to the DFW area. That's the reason that I think. Most of my friends who have places down there all live in Houston. So it made it made the most sense. But we grew up going to South Padre. So it was definitely a different experience than that. But my three-year-old loved it. He didn't know any different. He didn't have the Charles Barkley complaint. Spain is your champion of the 2026 World Cup. Congratulations, Spain. It's not over. For those of you that want it to be over, the conversation is not over here.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Let's jump over here to the comment section where Mo King 5 says, who cares? Soccer is a kid's sport. And anybody can learn to become one. Simply kick the ball with both legs. Will, you are not sports knowledge. So refrain from bringing up stupid arguments. Monkey. I'll respond shortly.
Starting point is 00:04:19 You are not sports knowledge. I'm not sports knowledge. I'm not sports knowledge. I'm not sports knowledge. That is a fact. Monkey Grab Orange says, now that this World Cup is nonsense is over, can we stop pretending that anyone gives a blank about soccer?
Starting point is 00:04:30 Let's just do this for a second. I want to break down in Spain. What are you smiling at, Scott? He seems to like the meme comments. Just for the record, I am a noted sports expert. I am five years employed as a sports expert. by ESPN, much to the chagrin of a lot of people out there in the world.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Yeah. I heard that you, I did listen to the podcast. I know I'm derailing you for a second. The fact that they used you at the Espies to talk badly about women was very funny. I didn't talk badly about it. Well, you didn't, but they used you to. Correct. They wanted, they edited you too.
Starting point is 00:05:04 I laughed so hard. There's very little that pisses me off more than editing me deceptively. That's what James Salarico did. That's what ESPN did. Wildest move I've ever seen. underhanded and slimy. It's so slimy. By the way, I just brought this up.
Starting point is 00:05:21 And we've had this debate, or we had this conversation on the show. And I have to edit myself, but I think I've found the right replacement words. I kind of operate as though there's three types of guys in the world. A-holes, Ricks, which is a G version of what I want to say if everybody understands. Because the reason I say that is not because I want to be edgy and cuss. it's because the actual word is more descriptive than to say he's a Rick. Do you see what I'm saying? He's a Richard.
Starting point is 00:05:48 He's a Richard. Yeah. And a tool, which is also a G-rated edit of what I want to say. And not as descriptive. But I think everybody gets what I'm getting at. Don't you think if I say that guy's a tool, but I can't say the word that I really think he is, you know what I'm getting at, right? Everyone? Yep.
Starting point is 00:06:08 Yeah. Could say D.S. I don't think. you can oh never mind sorry sorry sorry holy crap i'll leave now edit you can't say that i don't know i don't you can maybe um barstool we can say anything i just changed the rating i just changed the rating on fox one yeah it doesn't impact me oh my god i'm so sorry did you did you did you really yeah i just i just bump it up i just bump it up to uh when we swear yeah yeah when we swear i don't edit anything but the point is i really do i don't i don't
Starting point is 00:06:41 do believe this, okay, that most guys' behavior can be classified into one of those categories, okay? Yeah, there's good guys in the world, and there's guys that aren't any of these three things, but every guy has a tendency that takes him in one of those three directions, okay? And we could, we have, and we could explain and debate what those, the characteristics of those three types of guys are. I know which one I tend towards. But to edit someone deceptively like that, do you know what I mean? Yeah. That is a Rick move.
Starting point is 00:07:13 That's a Rick. Yeah. Does everybody? Yes, 100%. Like that's also, that takes it even further. Like that's not even just a tendency. That's just a bad person move to do that. And honestly, a Rick is the closest to a bad person.
Starting point is 00:07:27 Yes. I still think that ricks are driven out of insecurity. Yes. But their tactic of compensating for their insecurity is to put someone below them. Like any social setting, right? Yes. A group of five guys sitting around. if this dude for some reason doesn't feel confident about his place in the group, one of the ways he can solidify it is by making a mean joke about another guy.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Not a laugh with me joke. And they'll fake it like it is a laugh with me joke, but everybody feels it. It's insecurity and then they become mean outside of their insecurity. Yes. Yes. You should just do this. This is my book? This is my book.
Starting point is 00:08:04 This is your book. This is my book. I do have follow-up questions. Which one do you think that you lean towards? A-ho. I could see that. Not you, but I'm saying I could see why you think that about yourself. Maybe as I get older, I'm getting a little more tool.
Starting point is 00:08:16 No, I don't think you. Do you remember? It also, like, the TV anchor for men or women kind of makes you lean more towards tool. Tools. Yes. Right. So that's just, but that's not your fault. That's just what you do for a living.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Well, but TV anchors attract tools. Yes, 100%. TV anchors over index tools. Yes. Yes. What's the difference between tool and? Yes. And some start out as tools.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Say again. Was there between Tool and Rick? Tool and Rick? Oh, easy. A tool actually isn't trying to hurt anybody. He is only hurting himself. Yeah. He's trying really hard. He's trying really hard in his fashion.
Starting point is 00:08:58 He's trying really hard, maybe even name-dropping. He's trying hard with his joke. He's trying hard with his story. And it's never quite landing. And it's like, dude, can you just like, chill? and be, you know, there's some fashion choices that definitely will put you into the tool range. But ultimately, what, and it's easy for other guys to make fun of the tool. However, what I've learned with life is, they're actually some of the nicest dudes,
Starting point is 00:09:25 and they're really just trying to be in. Do you know what I mean? I'm trying to think of a, like, a pop culture reference that Patrick would, I don't know what Patrick watches. You could probably help me with that. of like a good tool. The first thing that came to mind, did anybody watch the White Lotus? Did you watch the White Lotus?
Starting point is 00:09:44 You know, in the season where it's like they go to check in and it's the wrong room, that guy teeters on Rick. Oh, he's Rick. Yeah, but he also dresses like a tool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, so guys can be both. But like he in his earlier years was probably more of a tool and then turned into a Rick. I think that's the pipeline with those guys sometimes.
Starting point is 00:10:05 There are all ways of dealing with insecurity, I think. That's it. Yes. I do think that the A-hole has the least insecurity, but he is the least empathetic to scenarios. Like, he will do things, and people might say, hey, man, that wasn't cool, and his response may be, I don't care. Yes. Do you know what I'm saying? Yes.
Starting point is 00:10:24 A little less empathy, but not necessarily malice. Exactly. Yes. Exactly. Yes. Okay. So. By the way, these code words are going to throw me.
Starting point is 00:10:35 I'm really sorry if one accidentally slings. My brain is breaking trying with these code words. So let me bring it to what we're talking about here. We're talking about a lot of things. Spain wins the World Cup. Oh, I'm a sports expert. Back to this guy. That's where we were.
Starting point is 00:10:52 I'm a sports expert. I feel to call this morning from a national water polo coach asking me how Spain's tactics could apply to water polo, what books he should read. Just for the record, I have an influence on gold medal. Okay, just so you know. Well, what book did you recommend? You really want to know? Yes, I do. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:12 By the way, you guys posted a video of me explaining Spanish soccer, and it did really well, and I saw some of this, and that's what he saw, and he called me. And Spanish soccer style is called, now there are going to be some Spanish soccer fans who are going to debate what I say because they don't like the implication. I'm going to be honest. Tiki-taka, which is a lot of short passing, the ball moves faster than the man, bounced their ball around, deprive the other team of possession. you control everything. Keep away. Kind of, while you break them down. Probably the leading figure of it right now is Pep Guardiola.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Do you know Pep? No. Okay, well, your sports fan, you should, because he is considered the genius. He's like the top dog. Okay. How do you know that? Even I know him. Okay, because there's crossover.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Like the Celtics coach went and studied Pepe Gwardola. Okay, yes. But I don't know anything else about that. I know the name now that you say it, but no, I don't know any. He's the level of coach that, like, Belichick and, and what is it, Joe Missoula? Is that the Celtics coach? They study him to see what they can apply to their sports. But PEP did not create that style.
Starting point is 00:12:18 He may have perfected it, but he didn't create it. The guy that, and this is where the Spanish won't like this, and they'll say I'm wrong, and maybe I'm only 80% right. A guy who's Dutch started it, whose name is Johann Kroif. And he's, I told my friend, get the book, it's called My Turn by Johann Kroif. And in the Netherlands they started, it's called Total Football. He signed with Barcelona when he was pretty young. And he became Barcelona's coach and created it.
Starting point is 00:12:44 It's called La Macea, which is Barcelona's academy. And that's the philosophy. And like a ton of those Spanish dudes all went through La Masea. So they all understand the philosophy. They all understand how to play that style of soccer. So Johan Kroif is who I told him to read. All right. This is a dumb question.
Starting point is 00:12:59 Could American soccer players go to those academies? You got to be good enough. But like, could that help the United States? Statesman's national team eventually? I don't know if there's ever been in America. Sergenio Dest, who is not all that awesome for us, but he went to Barcelona at a pretty young age. Polisic didn't cut it, didn't make Barcelona.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Policic didn't play for Barcelona. No. Uh-oh. He went to Germany. The fact that you don't even, if we don't even have people good enough to go to the academy, we're never going to win a World Cup ever. Well, but that's like the best academy in the world. We need at least one.
Starting point is 00:13:32 And there's rules on it. Like, how can an American? do so, they could only do so at the age of 18, which is pretty late in the game, unless you have dual citizenship. And same, you have to have, is it a UK rule that you have to, I can't remember if it's EU or UK, but Americans cannot go to Europe before the age of 18 unless they can establish some level of dual citizenship. And Polisik did because his grandparents came from Croatia. So that gave him EU pass, and he went to Germany. Okay, so ball knowledge, by the way, back to these people.
Starting point is 00:14:11 I can't read this guy's name. I am shocked at an American newscaster who has this much football knowledge. Thank you. It's a compliment. That is compliment. Backhanded. Game recognized game. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:23 The brunch crew loves you for it. So the question is today. And I think this is an interesting conversation because Patrick comes out of it from a different perspective. Of course Patrick knows nothing about soccer, is were Argentina, Ricks, tools, or A-Holes in that game? And you know what? The entire, for the record, everybody who's like a fan of soccer, like big time, abhorred the way Argentina played that game. Yes. Abhorred it. But I, and maybe this is where I'm not, not a ball know or enough, a soccer ball no-nower, but I felt differently about watching Messi the entire time. The team as a whole,
Starting point is 00:15:04 yes, but I never felt that way Messi the entire game. So you didn't like the way Argentina played? No, I thought, well, first of all, I just thought that... Because you're an American football fan and you're not that big of a soccer fan, right? No, I just, well, first of all, I thought the game itself until the very end was just overall boring. And I know that that's such a lame thing to say, but they just, they just, they seemed like they were complaining way more. It just, it didn't feel like the team I had watched for the rest of the World Cup, but there's still some, and I know you and I talked about this last week. There's something with Messi that is so endearing to me that I didn't feel that way about him.
Starting point is 00:15:33 But the team as a whole yes. The only, Messi had one moment. Everybody's like, do you know the moment where there's a rule in this World Cup, if you cover your mouth, you get a red card? I hate that rule, though. So if you say something, whatever, derogatory and cover your mouth, it's an automatic red card. And Mark Kukarela, who's not a very sympathetic figure on Spain,
Starting point is 00:15:53 the guy with the big bushy hair, he did this to his mouth. And Messi raised his hand like he was calling on the principal and was like, and pointed like and everybody's like this is pathetic messy don't do that I love that he did that he I know
Starting point is 00:16:06 this this word that I keep using with him is so unfair because he's the greatest of all time probably in all of sports he's cute everything he does to me
Starting point is 00:16:16 is just cute he's 39 I know I can't explain it well like at the end when he was crying it wasn't like it wasn't like
Starting point is 00:16:23 I was seeing LeBron cry or some it was like I don't know it made me feel sad for him yeah I get that he's cute It doesn't feel like anything he does going back to.
Starting point is 00:16:32 There's no malice. Like him snitching was like cute like my toddler would snitch, not like if LeBron is snitching. It's so patronized to him. But I don't mean to be. I can't explain it with Messi. But he's the greatest of all time. Let's take a quick break.

We're still hanging out with the Barstool College Football Show and pro football football show host Casey Smith of Barstall here on Will Cane Country.
Starting point is 00:17:18 So, Patrick, you like the way Argentina played. Yeah, I think soccer in general is very, I know there's all that flopping around. It's just kind of lame. And, you know, you might as well, like, push the buttons a little bit and get under people's skin. Yeah. I mean, my Panthers play that way in hockey, so I don't really care. All right. Watch this.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Dan, you have a clip of how Argentina played in this game. Watch. Yeah, there's no audio under it, but we could watch and you could kind of comment. They're just... Yeah, okay, that's a hard tackle. Yeah. It's probably a card. It didn't get carded.
Starting point is 00:17:56 That's a hard tag. This is... This is... crap right here. That's By the way, this is... This is only 40 seconds of a 13-minute clip someone put together of how dirty they played yesterday.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Yeah, I mean, you know, Patrick, I get where you're coming from. And then you saw the end of the game. Does this have the end of the game, the fighting at the end of the game? I have that in another clip if we want to watch that. Yeah, that's the most illustrative. So, Rodry, who ends up winning player of the tournament, Spain wins. He's celebrating. He runs.
Starting point is 00:18:29 right, to his teammates. As he's passing an Argentina player, I don't know if this has this, Dan, your clip, but I've seen now Zoom-ins. Dude, an Argentine player just punches him in the stomach as he runs by, just punches him in the stomach. And that's what leads to, I think, this that you have here.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Punch of him here. And we're seeing these replayed for the first time, so you can see the- So now, Rodry is punched him, a little bit shoving. Now here comes... Not great to see. Paredes.
Starting point is 00:19:01 and he grabs Eric Garcia by the throat. Another guy tries near him, and he takes him to the ground. It's a melee. It's actually hard for me to narrate it. This is a different angle. He punches him in the throat. Then he goes after Garvey, throws him to the ground. You know, Patrick, it reminds me, all of it reminds me of Draymond Green.
Starting point is 00:19:20 It's not hockey. Yes. Like, if somebody really fought, okay, fight, but it's not real fighting. It's shoving, it's quasi-punches, and it's also, underhanded and in weak. And they could not play to Spain's level. Spain
Starting point is 00:19:39 far outclassed Argentina. And so their tactic was turn it into a slug fest, turn it into a mess. And okay, if you're doing that during the game, that's one thing. But then to be that way after the game and you talk about messy after the game,
Starting point is 00:19:55 they turned their backs on Spain when Spain was getting their medal. You know, they faced their crowd. They didn't really. And then they walked off the field as they were getting their awards, I just thought it was incredibly classless. Classless was the word. Rick. Well, and that, the, the physicality, because I understand what Patrick is saying. Like, in hockey, they just fight.
Starting point is 00:20:13 The difference is those are cheap shots. And in any sport, across the board, and there's a cheap shot, whatever, like, the level of physicality is, if it's just a little bit over that and it's cheap, I don't like it. Yes. It doesn't matter. Like, do I love when dugouts clear and they're all going to fight each other? Yeah, I think that's pretty entertaining. At the end of the game, if they're going to fight, fight.
Starting point is 00:20:29 But the cheap shots throughout the actual match is what I didn't like. And you see that in football. I don't like it in football. Football is a physical sport. But you see guys after the whistle doing cheap shots, all these things. That's what this is, all cheap shots. But in my mind, it's like very similar to what the Legion of Boom would do for the Seahawks is they kept pushing and pushing. You can only call so many penalties or fouls, you know, on them.
Starting point is 00:20:55 And so then you just kind of get under people's skin and you wear their. down. I think there's an element of that. And I don't have a problem with it. I mean, I do have a problem with the postgame stuff. The postgame stuff is a week. Yeah, I was going to ask you. The postgame stuff. And that's the problem. That style of play
Starting point is 00:21:11 during the game seems to be their character after the game. And by the way, they acted that way in victory and in defeat. Like when they won, they taunted the other team. England, right? And then when they lose, yeah. There's a video out right now you can see them
Starting point is 00:21:27 doing it to the Dutch when they I think it's the Dutch they beat. I don't know if it was this tournament. Wasn't this tournament. But they definitely, like, and I love their passion. I actually love their patriotism. The way that they sing their national anthem, they're super passionate. And I get and love that.
Starting point is 00:21:45 But they carry this, there's a word, in soccer they use this word, I can't use it as well. S. Houserie. S. It's perfect description. They play that S. Houserie. That's like they're in time. countries play like that.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Are there any? Paraguay. Paraguay. Oh, that's right. Paraguay did that with France. Yeah. That's crazy. But they're just not as good, so it doesn't land as well.
Starting point is 00:22:10 I would say, is one of those, yeah. Which, listen, and maybe not the actual, the team was not, but the American fans were getting very close to acting that way, if not already acting that way. I will say, though, and it's like this with anything, it's, if you're winning, you can cross over the cocky arrogance line and nobody has a problem with or less people have a problem with it. When you lose like that and you act like that, that's when you start having a problem, which I guess
Starting point is 00:22:35 is more of a fan. Like when Nick Saban acted really cocky and was arrogant, but he was winning, it was okay. He left at the top of his game, but when Argentina loses an act that way, then you're like, I have a problem with it. It's a team full of Draymond Greens. It's a club and a country that plays like Draymond Green. Complete with the
Starting point is 00:22:53 doing something cheap and then going, what are you talking about, ref? That's what I didn't like. I didn't do anything. That's what I didn't like. He did it to me. Dremont, I feel like Dremont owns it a little bit more, though. Doesn't he?
Starting point is 00:23:04 Oh, no. I think he acts just like that. He'll punch somebody in the nuts and then act like. He stopped on somebody's nuts. But he, yeah, he, I mean, I feel like all of the NBA is like, what? I didn't do that. And they slow motion and it's crazy. I mean, the WMBA now, too.
Starting point is 00:23:17 But the, I don't know what it is. And maybe it's because I'm not a soccer fan. But I still was sad that Messi didn't win. I wasn't sad that Argentina lost the game. I was sad for Messi. How about my prediction, Rodry? How about ball knower? You're right.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Can you not love Rodry? Won the player of the tournament. You'll never notice him during a game. I love that he plays with his shirt tucked in, you know, like an old man. He's just there to do the job and the job. He's won everything there is in soccer. How old is he? 30.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Okay. And he's won everything. Champions League. Yeah, he looks a lot older than that. Do you think so? The way he carries himself. He just looks mature. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:23:52 The shirt tucked in does play a part of that, I guess. It's like very old man, maybe like black socks with sandals type of vibe. Speaking of opposite, Will ever, all the women learned who Sergio Ramos was in the stands? And apparently he's one of the worst. Oh, he was, yeah, he was pretty dirty player. What do you mean? You think all the women are into Sergio? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:24:12 It was my entire feed yesterday. Did you see him, Casey? The social media, yeah, the social media streets were hot with him yesterday. Oh, Casey and I talked about this last week. My wife fell in love during the World Cup, but not with Sergio Ramos. she's in love with you'd Bellingham. Well, that's also. I was sending Ellie, like, different pictures of the guys we talked about last week
Starting point is 00:24:31 to be like, Will's wrong. Like, there was multiple times where Ellie and I were like, yeah, Will's wrong. About what? With Erling, you saying that he is not, or that he's very masculine looking. Yeah, these girls think Erling looks feminine. His face looks feminine. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'll show you the photo that I sent to her.
Starting point is 00:24:47 He's a Viking. No, I understand. He's a Targaryian. But he, but he, his face, by itself does not look that is not a masculine face and he posted that I'm not attracted to that girl
Starting point is 00:25:01 that's different okay but that's different well that is different that is different there can be he he is a masculine person his face does not scream masculinity like that just because he has plump lips no no he's it's not now
Starting point is 00:25:19 Patrick who did have this there is a difference between there is a difference between pretty boy And feminine, too. You can really get into this, which we did. But Jude Bellingham, I mean, everybody fell in love with him. Like Rinaldo's feminine. And the Nigerian goalkeeper. Rinaldo?
Starting point is 00:25:34 Rinaldo? Yeah. Rinaldo's a pretty boy. He's a pretty boy feminine, dude. Yeah. No, he's feminine. I don't think he's feminine. I don't think he's feminine.
Starting point is 00:25:41 He's a metro sexual. He's a metro. I think feminine and masculine, like I'm talking about their facial features. It's not even the way, like, if you took just Erling's head next to Christianano Ronaldo's head, you would say, he's much more feminine looking than Ronaldo. Maybe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:25:58 I mean, that's just so harsh. It's not harsh. I would like it very much on record that I understand why people find him very much a masculine man. I'm just saying his face looks more feminine than other examples. I'm not talking S, okay? So congratulations to Spain. He needs to get facial hair. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:19 That would help. Early England looks like he could grow facial hair, actually. Yeah. I get you on that. He doesn't look like he could grow facial. Which is a feminine trait. And Vikings do have some beard sometimes. I'd love to see.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Could he grow a big beard? I'll do it with an AI. I compared him to Damon Targaryen. And I said that if you take Damon for a house of the dragon people out there, Damon is because of how he fights and how violent he is. But when he's just standing there, like looking around, he looks like a little feminine in comparison. Because he has long hair? Is it the long hair?
Starting point is 00:26:47 No. I mean, that doesn't. But also, I think maybe it's blonde. Maybe I'm just against men having long blonde hair. I don't know. I have no idea. They're encroaching on your territory. Appropriating my culture is what they're doing.
Starting point is 00:27:00 And from Chevron, since 1879, there are people who have been more than a source of energy. They've been a source of progress helping deliver record U.S. energy production and fueling the breakthroughs that move America forward. Learn more at Chevron.com slash 250. All right. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has given us some gold lately. She has, in a long tradition of Democrats, been putting on accents. depending on her audience. And this is, I believe, Dan, in Memphis, right?
Starting point is 00:27:29 Mm-hmm. So presumably a primarily black audience. Here is AOC. We cannot afford to leave Tennessee behind. We cannot afford to leave Kentucky behind, Alabama behind, Mississippi behind, Georgia behind, South Carolina behind. Girl, you're from New York. Chill. Bronx. If you didn't tell me, I mean, I had seen this before because I knew we were going to talk about it. If you didn't show me a video of that, I would have had no idea that was AOC. That's how much she disguised her, her Bronx accent. It's awful. Like, I would have had no idea that was her. What? Best part about this? It was at a Justin Pearson rally.
Starting point is 00:28:15 No. Why is that the best part? Because Justin Pearson is he also, as a modern-day Malcolm X? Exactly. He's also a faker. Do you think they got together beforehand? Like, let's really lay this one on thick. No, I think I, I, I, yeah, it happened. But the interesting thing is why. So Hillary did it, does it, did it.
Starting point is 00:28:41 Joe Biden did it. There's more clips. Who else does this? Joe Biden. Almost exclusively, almost exclusively on the left. Oh, Krocut. Crocket does it. Trump has never done it.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Do they not think people are going to... Surely that Romney didn't do it or John McCain didn't do it. No. Bush can't do it. So what is it in the moment? That is an interesting. Why is that happening to you in that moment? What is happening to you?
Starting point is 00:29:14 Assimulation. Why are you doing that? Do you think they're aware that they're doing it? Because if it's not pre-planned or pre-thought about, which I agree, I don't think is but do you think that they're fully aware that they're making that decision to to put on an accent like that i think it's political asperger uh asperger's no political uh what's the thing where you where you have that tick where you always curse we always curse Tourette's turrets yeah it's political Tourette's it's like they don't mean to it's like internalized in them
Starting point is 00:29:48 and she did it when they ramped up too like the crowd was ramping up it's like let me give some more umph and sound like them. I think that's kind of what it was. Let's take a quick break, but continue this with Barstools Casey Smith here on Will Cain Country. Summer heats up in FX's The Shards. Set in 80s, Los Angeles, the Shards follows a group of beautiful, privileged prep school students who are preyed on by the trawler, a serial killer targeting teenagers across the city. This fever dream of youth, beauty, sex, and mystery is a must see.
Starting point is 00:30:25 FX's The Shard. streaming August 5th on Hulu on Disney Plus. Sign up now at Disneyplus.com. Welcome back to Will Cain Country. We're still hanging out with the Barstool College Football Show and pro football football show host Casey Smith of Barstall here on Will Cane Country. Man, people are going to say I'm taking this too deep. But I think that because progressivism as an ideology does not really have a core.
Starting point is 00:30:54 It doesn't have a backbone. I think that's pretty well illustrated with the way that it moves with the times and with the movements. Do you see what I'm saying? Like, you know, Barack Obama being opposed to gay marriage and that today would have made him a Nazi. Trans issues 10 years ago, whatever, we're probably 12. I don't know how long are we into the trans thing. Are we a decade, 12 years into the trans thing? Not fully on.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Not even, you think? No, God, no. Yeah, I don't think, I think you're right. About a decade. Yeah, probably. Like, what, 2017? So about a decade. But you can do this on a whole host of issues.
Starting point is 00:31:29 You can get videos of Democrats from the 1990s and early 2000s talking about a secure border. And no Democrat would really talk that way now. Talking about immigration, talking about trans issues, talking about gay issues. It moves with the popularity of a given item at the given time. That's how it moves. And in that way, it's incredibly populist for a segment of the population. And so I think when you're like that, you are constantly playing to the crowd. You're playing to the crowd with your positions, and you're playing to the crowd in these moments with your relatability.
Starting point is 00:32:03 And your relatability forces you to mimic whoever's there with you. Now, the example I'm about to use is obviously not near as serious because we're not talking about politics. But it's kind of like, and I don't know how much it happened with you because you have a thicker Texas accent than me. But when I... You're welcome. That was a compliment. Okay, great. You don't have one at all.
Starting point is 00:32:22 When I, well, when I get with my friends from college and we're drinking, my Texas accent comes out a whole lot more. And I'm not doing it on purpose, but it's because I'm around that group of people. And I don't even notice it. And then I'll see videos that too. Right. When I lived in New York, people would say, you have no accent. And now I'm starting to hear people watch the show say to me, what's happened? Your accent is getting stronger.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Well, I've been back in Texas for six years now. And I know mine is super malleable. And if I go home, like not Dallas. Like home, Sherman, it will ramp up. Super thick. 100%. So it's like, it's, oh. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:58 His, I mean, first of all, if he had the thickest Texas accent, he couldn't be on national TV. Like that's it. Like, if you had the like super, super thick, at least some of my friends from like from college, you can't understand them half the time. Like you couldn't be, you couldn't be explaining the news to the country. But there's all these different levels. But then when you leave, and that's where like AOC, she didn't even sound. But she's not doing what we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:33:20 No, but it's, but it's, but I. I understand how your brain can kind of slip into that. When I was in Boston and I was around all my Boston friends who had really thick accents, I would somehow like blend a Texas Boston accent sometimes. Come on. You start to sound in Boston? A little bit. Maybe you are a, AOC.
Starting point is 00:33:34 That's what I'm, maybe I'm giving some people some grace. But it was always when I was drinking, never just because I was giving a speech. So she said that she was drinking. I have never had an accent other than my own. I have gravitated to no accent, I think, in New York. It wasn't like I was. There's more saying certain words. Oh, I don't?
Starting point is 00:33:55 You have a Texas accent. He has a Texas accent. I just like having a non-regional diction. There's no accent. I don't think I have a... Do you think he sounds more Texas than I do? Yeah, oh yeah. I don't think any of you'd sound anything.
Starting point is 00:34:07 Well, then that's an accent. Yeah, well, you may not have a good ear too, Patrick. But it's not a super obvious one, but he does... You do have a Texas accent, but you just said that was a compliment. I think it's faint. now. Yeah. It's there but faint. Like I got in trouble last week for surrogacy. You know what I'm talking about?
Starting point is 00:34:27 I agree with that though. I say surrogacy. How do you say I-N-S-U-R-A-N-C-E? That was a lot of letters. Health, health, dental, I-N-S-U-R-A-N-C-E. Insurance. Oh, insurance. Insurance. When I went to Boston, people said I said that wrong. Insurance, we put the emphasis on the end.
Starting point is 00:34:45 That's just wrong. Yeah. That I got made fun of relentlessly for that. Yeah. Yeah. We did that on the lot of words. Yes. My wife does on some, like, say the word, U-M-B-R-E-L-A. U-M-B-R-E-L-A. Yeah. How does she say it? Umbrella. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Like insurance. Vehicle was right, too. I definitely say the H. You say V- well, that one I'm putting it on the back end, vehicle. Instead of, how do you say it, Dan? I think I say vehicle. Vehicle. So I didn't mean to run that one back. But the Texas accident comes out in words that we just don't say correctly, apparently.
Starting point is 00:35:21 But I just don't think that's what's happening with AOC. No. I think she's, that's why I ask you. Like, she seems like she could be purposely, not purposely throwing it that thick, but that she's like, I'm going to assimilate to these people. Do you remember? Here's another one. Is AOC dumb?
Starting point is 00:35:38 This is a legitimate question. Is she dumb or smart? What do you think, Patrick? Is she dumb or smart? She's smart. Look, maybe she's not like Harvard educated, but I think, I think she's definitely societally smart, socially smart. She understands how to play the game very, very well.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I don't think she's dumb either. I actually agree with that. I do not think that she's dumb. However, then explain this clip when she's asked, would you abolit the current DSA platform is to do away with the Senate. She's on the steps. Somebody goes up to and says, do you agree with that idea doing away with the Senate? I don't support the filibuster.
Starting point is 00:36:20 I don't support elements of this institution that we know, you know, were founded on Jim Crow. So the Senate was created 150 years before Jim Crow. 150 more. I don't think it's an intelligence thing. I think it just doesn't know as much as she lets on. She avoids the question at first by criticizing certain elements of the Senate, right? Would you abolish Senate? Well, I don't like the filibuster.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Okay, you don't like the filibuster. So you're going to do away with the whole Senate. And then she moves in, and she never answers the question directly. And then she does that dumb. That is a dumb line. Okay, set aside, is she dumb? That is a dumb line that the Senate is a relic of Jim Crow. It's an institution of Jim Crow.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Like, that's dumb. That's really dumb. It's indefensibly dumb. So why is a smart person saying, defensively dumb things. I think she's really smart about what she knows and how she goes about knowing that. I mean, you know this. Like if you took people that only know politics and threw them into a sports conversation. She's not a sports commentator. She is a politician who ought to know that. I agree with that. No, I'm not giving her an excuse. I'm saying that when she's talking about
Starting point is 00:37:42 what she knows, I don't think she's dumb. What does she know? That should be in the core of it, right there. That's fair. I don't think she's a dumb person, though. She knows how to make the most annual. But when you see clips like that. Ouch. Maybe she's, Patrick said, maybe she's very socially smart. She knows how to win over a crowd. When you think about it. She
Starting point is 00:38:03 takes a lot of videos, not wearing shoes. That's pretty damn smart if you're a woman and you want to get attention on the internet. Patrick. It's good theory. No free feet. Good theory. No free feet is a thing. No. No.
Starting point is 00:38:19 I'm not giving you that. She has said things. She has said... I've never even thought about that, Patrick. Remember that one? She said black people created democracy. No. See?
Starting point is 00:38:32 So dumb again. So dumb. But I have seen her. I do believe she's had a couple of moments where she's cross-examined people appearing before the house, perhaps whatever committee she's sitting on. And there are moments when she's pretty good. She's quick. Pretty good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:49 I just she's sharp in certain like I hate to use that word but like that's like she like she she's on it like she's not gonna now a clip like that she wasn't prepared for that that's where you can start teething on the edge when you're not prepared for what's coming it's like you know and that's in anything it's like you can tell people that can roll with a conversation no matter what their intellect level is on that topic and people who can't she cannot yeah either way it's dangerous prepared in those situations and that she was not prepared so she's a performer she's a really good performer who's not I'll give her more than that. If she preps on something like was the Senate part of the original conception of the United States government with the Constitution in the 1700s? Oh, I think she looks up after her. A relic of Jim Crow. And it's like,
Starting point is 00:39:35 damn, I was wrong. No, no. Does she have, my question was, does she have people around her that told her she's wrong? I think she's got no regerts. No. At all. She doesn't even care. I have one letter. None. She, like, you know, when you can tell, you know, politicians, I feel like it usually, like, tanks their career. It's
Starting point is 00:39:51 Can they sink or swim when they're getting questions that they are not prepared for? She cannot swim. She's going to sink if she's not prepared for it. She is also, and this is not to her intellect, she's in a difficult position where she is now, shockingly, trying to straddle the line of how far left she can go. And she is a little bit caught in yesterday's argument. Invoking Jim Crow, she thinks we're still, her instinct is that we are still in 2020 and that you can undercut intellectual issues by reverting to racial arguments.
Starting point is 00:40:24 Like that is a, even though it's wrong, that is a 1619 project, Black Lives Matter, critical theory explanation of American government. She thinks that's where we are. We're not there anymore. She now is in the midst of a debate about socialism, and her party's most influential figures now are further to the left than her. and she's got to figure out how far she can go without becoming totally uncredible or electable at a wider level. So I'll give you this.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Compared to what they're putting out there right now, yes, but I think she wants to be with them, but she can't. Wouldn't it be really easy for her to just do that, especially because she is in New York? Wouldn't it be very easy to just completely go into the socialism stuff if she wanted to? With the job she has now. If she wants to run for Senate, then probably not. not. If she wants to run for president, then probably not. You can win, like we saw in New York, with 15% of the voting base doing that socialism stuff in a small race with low turnout. But if she wants wide elected office across the country, that ain't going to work. And she's being pushed now.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Absolutely. In his own city? Way more. Absolutely. Yeah. Yes. And Mom Donnie is connected to this guy, Hassan Piker, who gave this speech. And I want you to listen to what he says. And if you're listening on Spotify or Apple, I want you understand he's standing up there in what we call it, a Mao Zedong costume, basically. Yeah, it's dictatorial. Joseph Stalin? Yeah. But a, not a fascist dictator, more of a communist.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Kim Jong-un would wear it for sure. It looks like something Borat would wear in a movie. Yeah, to play one, yeah. Yeah, to play one. Like, it looks like he, that's what Borat would roll out. We did that movie called The Dictator, but his was more militaristic and fascist. This is more leader of the working people's revolution outfit. Watch.
Starting point is 00:42:24 No more to Trumpism, but no more to the Democrats who compromise, who conciliate, and who betray us. No more to the fascist reactionaries, but no more to the Democrats who will collaborate and cooperate with the fascist. Who will fund ICE, who will fund Israel, who will help poison the planet, who will see. stiff workers and help bosses. We don't need those Democrats anymore. That's crazy. Bro. Why is that crazy to you? I've got my thoughts. I mean, for me, just from like the outside looking in, you, it's always, you don't want your party to be split anyways, and he's purposely splitting it now. And that to me is crazy to do, because, but I mean, the fact is we don't need them anymore. Actually, if you want Democrats to
Starting point is 00:43:23 stay in power, you do need all Democrats to at some point stay together. Okay. So this guy, to your question, Dan, to what end? When you said that, I almost blurted out I wanted to say to his own personal gain. So he is, I've become super cynical because some people I know, we'll leave it at that, some people I know have told me about a lot of these streamers, okay, and some of these streamers. And I have on my own looked into, for example, Sneako, right? And his evolution over time, not just in who he is and how he grew up, but the things he has supported, like he's kind of
Starting point is 00:44:04 at times pro-Hittler, then he's anti-fascist. He's, now he's pro-Muslim, right? Super, like, I'm talking like full-on Islamic revolution. Yeah. Jihad. Islam a fascist. Yeah, Islamo fascist. And there's just nothing genuine about it. It's all a play. It's all a play for attention. It's all a play for audience.
Starting point is 00:44:27 So I'm tempted to say that with Piker, but at the same time, this guy might be a true believer. I'm not sure. But you know what sticks out to me as much as the outfit? And the outfit's a real statement, a real statement. There was one particular choice of words that he used in that clip that really stuck out to me. Okay?
Starting point is 00:44:47 I want to see if you guys heard it. Any of you. There was one word that to me is a bridge you cross. It's a historically significant word, and it's used by exactly the movements that he wants to now be a part of, whether or not that's Mao, East German, Stalinist, communist.
Starting point is 00:45:05 There was one word in there that really stuck out. I don't know. Patrick? Can we replay it? I was a ping it. Yeah. I mean, I was paying attention, but not replaying. I think this word is a record scratch.
Starting point is 00:45:19 No more to Trumpism, but no more to the Democrats who compromise, who conciliate, and who betray us. No more to the fascist reactionaries, but no more to the Democrats who will collaborate and cooperate with the fascists, who will fund ICE, who will fund Israel, who will help poison the planet, who will stiff workers and help bosses. We don't need those Democrats anymore. All right. So workers? Come on, Patrick. No.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Workers? Collaborate. Collaborate. Collaborate. Yeah, I was going to say. No more to the Democrats who collaborate and cooperate with the fascists. Collaborators has been an accusation throughout history for over a century of anybody within the state police to go in on anybody else that they consider to be in the slightest bit
Starting point is 00:46:19 an enemy of the state, an enemy of the people. You're accused of being a collaborator. And I guarantee when writing that speech, that word was chosen carefully. Collaborate. That's not a random colloquial term. That is the beginning of a revolutionary fascist, police state type of rhetoric. Maybe you guys can say I'm making too much out of one. No, I wouldn't have.
Starting point is 00:46:43 That word was chosen. I can guarantee you that word was chosen. Collaborate and cooperate back to back. I mean, those two things too. I wouldn't have picked that out. Poison is what stood out to me just because I feel like that. Like, anytime you start accusing people of. trying to poison society or poison that, then you're really going off the deep end, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:46:58 But listen to the purpose of his speech. It is not targeted at me. It is not targeted at Trump. It is not targeted at the right. That is targeted at the left. That speech is targeted at AOC. That's why I say it's crazy to me. I do you expect to win. You are you are under risk of being called a collaborator. You can hear the Chinese secret police showing up to someone's door. professor perhaps and being accused of being a collaborator. And I'm telling you, that should strike fear in the, that word that he chose should strike fear in the heart of every Democrat.
Starting point is 00:47:35 I have friends like that that will pressure me, be like, you're not showing up to these protests, you're not doing enough. You're with them. If you're not doing anything, then you're with them completely. The no king stuff, if you don't go to that, you're with them. It's insanity. Let's take a quick break, but continue this with Barstools Casey Smith here on Wilkane Country.

Starting point is 00:48:26 We're still hanging out with the Barstool College Football Show and pro football football football show host Casey Smith of Barstle here on Wilcane Country. The tearing apart inside his own party, and I understand that there is a big difference what's going on. But that to me just makes no sense because he isn't talking to you. He isn't talking to Trump. But how does he expect Democrats to ever win anything if the party doesn't like each other? He doesn't care. He doesn't care at all. I think he says it out loud.
Starting point is 00:48:55 He wants a revolution. First round by says he doesn't want to win elections. Hassan is a cosplaying dweeb. So our socialists that watches our show does not like Hassan Piker. Well, we've seen that on video, right? Democratic Socialists. When Hassan showed up at that protest outside of Delaney Hall in New Jersey, he was shouted down by the people there.
Starting point is 00:49:17 First round by, why don't you jump back in the comment section. if Hassan Piker is a cosplay dweeb and you in first round describes himself as a democratic socialist who is the leader the face of it? Yeah. Who is the one giving appropriate voice to? I know the first round by liked Graham Platner there for a while. Who is it? Who is the face of this movement? And what about Hassan Piper?
Starting point is 00:49:46 Don't give me it's a movement of the people. No, but what about, like, is it because he, he's a streamer? Is that what it is? Like, what makes him not the face of it? Like, what makes him a dweeb? Cosplaying d'Ig. Because he's pretending. Like, he's just trying to have a persona that's not really for the cause. It's for his own cause. But he's more than a streamer. He is on stage with Abdul Salad running for Senate in Michigan. Sure. He's influential with a lot of these actual candidates. That's why I think that people hear streamer and they immediately want to discredit it. I don't think with him, that's fair. Agreed. It's like where Kaysanath shows up. He is not somebody that's going to, but I don't put them on the same level. And I'm not trying to downplay Kaysanat's influence at all. But Hassan feels different. Like you're not going to see him right now showing up to do more fun things, like shooting free throws or anything like that.
Starting point is 00:50:34 This is what he wants to do. How about I show Speed? He's got the halftime show at the World Cup. Speed has gone from streaming in his parents' basement to the freaking halftime show of the World Cup. Incredible. streamers. I mean, you get in the right lane. You can do whatever you want. So I feel like Hassan Piker is a streamer, yes, but this is probably what he always wanted to do. But is this his free-thro thing? When I went to see my finals, my boys went and got their picture taken with two to three
Starting point is 00:51:00 people. I had no idea who they were. They're like, they're streamers and named them. Never heard of them. Let's do a couple quick hits really quick here before we go. United Airlines is first, the news comes out, United to offer travelers, free flight changes to avoid landing at Trump International Airport. So any, any, um, passengers who are offended by the idea that Palm Beach International Airport is now Trump International Airport could change their flights. However, United says there was a miscommunication. United blames poorly worded internal memo for false claim travelers can switch flights from Trump airport for free. So Patrick, what's the truth here? If I don't want to fly into Trump, did I get a free change
Starting point is 00:51:42 of United? I do not think you do. I think, uh, I really can't tell, to be honest. Oh, thank you for that, Patrick. Yes. I want to see that. Do we have the original email? Nailed it. Do we have?
Starting point is 00:51:57 I was buying in, Patrick. I believed it. We were going to. Excellent. Excellent production. I was so ready for it. I was like, tell me. I was hanging on every word.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Yeah. What have we seen an email that went out that was quote misworded? That was hilarious. Good. Get out of jail. Free. Garden. Done. You do know something about this, I would imagine. Patrick. Olive Garden becomes the unlikely face of voter ID fight after restaurants policy goes viral.
Starting point is 00:52:28 So I'll be up front. I haven't been to an Olive Garden in, I would put it at decades. Oh. There could have been like a post soccer game match at an Olive Garden. There could have been that. Do they still do the bottomless post-a balls? Well, that's what this is about, I think. When I was in college, the bottomless pasta went crazy. So that's what this is about. People must have been taking advantage of it, right? Patrick, tell us how it works. Because then what happened is they issued a pass.
Starting point is 00:53:00 You have to get the Olive Garden pass to get bottomless pasta. But in order to use your pass, they were worried people would pass the pass around. You had to show photo ID with your pass. And so people are obviously making the joke. you know, usually the way these things work. So I think this is more than just a one-time thing. This is a, you get a pass, you have it for like a month. And then you can, whenever you go into Olive Garden, you get the never-ending pasta.
Starting point is 00:53:28 And so the problem is you don't want a situation like Red Lobster had with people sharing and, you know, sharing all you can eat, you know, seafood that's bankrupted them. And so, and so then they say, hey, I don't go to Red Lobster either. Yeah, I don't, Patrick. You're going to have to roll back. Would people go to Red Lobster and order all you can eat shrimp? What is Red Lobster? Like five people to table and they order one all you can eat shrimp? Is that what would happen?
Starting point is 00:53:51 Well, yes. Yes, certain groups of people would do this and it became a thing and then they declared bankruptcy. Really? Yes. They say because of this? Yeah, it was because of the never, the, the all you can eat shrimp was the thing that killed them. And now they have a new CEO. I need a fact check on this.
Starting point is 00:54:15 I knew a fact check. Now, when it comes to food. In Red Lobster's defense, yeah, I'm about to say Patrick would know, but in Red Lobster's defense, shrimp is a lot more expensive than pasta. So if they were losing a lot of money on shrimp, maybe I could hear out that argument. So let me ask you, what was happening at Olive Garden? Would people go order one bowl of pasta and feed the entire table? I don't think it got that far.
Starting point is 00:54:36 I think what was happening is they saw what happened to Red Lobster and they go, this is not going to happen to us. We're going to get our ducks in a row, and we're going to make sure that, you know, people do the right thing here. Patrick, when did this past thing start? And I'm not trying to be patronizing. You are the food guy.
Starting point is 00:54:54 But I also feel like when I went to Olive Garden to get the never-ending pasta or the bottomless bowl, I just was able to order it. They didn't ask me for a pass or anything. It was just like, oh, you're here. You can have it. Well, it's new. Oh, it is brand new.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Yeah. The pass is new. Yeah. So it's like a six-flag season pass. I survived on soup salad. breadsticks all you can eat in college. This is what Olive Garden says. No, the never-ending pasta pass is only for use by the passholder whose name is printed on the pass.
Starting point is 00:55:21 Passes are personalized and non-transferable. Passholders must present a valid photo ID along with the pass at the time of ordering. Fascist. I don't hate that. I don't hate that. Tougher than voting. Fascist. Well, that I hate.
Starting point is 00:55:35 That part I do hate. But I do understand that, hey, the never-ending pasta is a luxury. you better be paying for that pass to get that luxury. I agree. What's the problem? And people who protest that are not using their own pass. Listen, if I want to bring Pedro and Jorge with me, I feel like we should all get, you know,
Starting point is 00:55:55 to be able to spread things around a little bit, all right? He doesn't think that. No, he doesn't think that. No, he don't think that. He just wanted to say. It's Taco, Patrick. It's Taco Bell. Why?
Starting point is 00:56:09 Were the Latinos doing this? What are you saying? What's going on? I don't know what's going on at Olive Garden. No, it was a voter thing. It was a voter joke. Oh, the voter joke. Patrick, if Taco Bell had something like this,
Starting point is 00:56:25 where it was like cheesy gordita crunches, unlimited while you're sitting there, you would not be okay with somebody else taking your shine with that. You would want them to pay for it too. 1,000%. So that's, yeah. You wouldn't take the whole family out on one all you can eat Gordita. Because you want all the gorditas to yourself, which I understand.
Starting point is 00:56:44 She's a gordita's rock. Each one of your kids, their own ID and pass. Yeah. I would invest in it. You'd have just an empire of Taco Bell passes. I got to look up this Red Lobster story. I really want to know about Red Lobster going bankrupt. They are bankrupt, but I don't know if it's because of all.
Starting point is 00:56:59 They got a new CEO. They did, they're doing like a spoil thing. They were going down for a while I read. And then the other, the pass put them over. Well, they didn't have a pass. Something that the new CEO changed. Was it the Boyles that he changed and he thought it was going to bring it back? Did it ever actually bring it back?
Starting point is 00:57:21 I don't think it came back. Mine closed locally. So it didn't come back here. But people also claim that, you know, it played a role that there was a, they were bought by a private equity firm that kind of like messed them up with the way that they're. I have the breakdown of the. Patrick, what's your favorite fast? Is this called fast casual?
Starting point is 00:57:42 Is that what's... Olive Garden, Red Lobster, you call that fast casual. Chili's. Outback Steakhouse. Fridays. Cheddar. What's your favorite fast casual, Patrick? Taco Bell's just fast.
Starting point is 00:57:52 That's just fast. Yeah. I frequent Outback probably more... By the way, before you answer, I don't do a lot of these. Taco Bell's off the hook now, or Taylor Farms is off the hooks on the diarrhea bug? Listen, the thing about this is, you know, people were saying like, oh, well, 80% of the people we talked to said that they had eight, you know,
Starting point is 00:58:11 in Taco Bell. Well, that's 20% of people who didn't eat a Taco Bell. And so I'm like, this is coming from somewhere. It's not necessarily Taco Bell that should be on the hook here for everything. But they're saying now it wasn't Taylor Farms. Taylor Farms is providing the lettuce. And they're saying it was a false positive
Starting point is 00:58:28 on Cyclophoria or whatever it's called. Yeah. And I mean, by the way, Taylor Farms, oops, sorry. Yeah, some people like Sir Andrew Rule are kind of skeptical. about that, by the way. That false positive, but... No, really?
Starting point is 00:58:48 Yeah. You can safely, can we safely go, can we safe... Do you don't even get lettuce on your gordita? Do you? Do you say hold the lettuce? No. You got to taste the actual flavors that were the way they're intended to be tasted. A taco Supreme is far different than a regular taco at Taco Bar. Talking to Patrick like this kind of makes me want to have some Taco Bell.
Starting point is 00:59:11 I want a cheese Gordita crunch so badly right now. So bad. I haven't had Taco Bell in years either, but I could go. With some hot sauce on that? I could go for a Gordita Crunch. Patrick, do you do the do you do the Dorito shell on your cheesy Gordita crunch?
Starting point is 00:59:25 Oh, that's too much. Come on, no way. Does he? No, no, I don't. He's a, he's a purist. He's a Taco Bell purest. When I get, I usually use my rewards to get the Cheeszy Gordita Crunch or the Trulica.
Starting point is 00:59:40 So you can't make those kind of changes. I believe that's so hard. Of course have rewards. Wait, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. It's probably digital now, right? The rewards. Yeah. Do you have a punch card or do you use the app? It's on the app. Back in the day, like you get a punch card, right? And you have to order like 10, order 10 and then your 11th is free. Is that kind of the thing? Something like that. It has to be money. Money spent. It's money. Yeah. It's like point. You get points per dollar spent. God, that's amazing.
Starting point is 01:00:11 Okay. Can you transfer those? No. Not without an ID. We've talked about this. Are you in Taco Bell? You're once a week. Are you once a week or twice a week, Taco Bell guy?
Starting point is 01:00:24 Usually once. Yeah, just once. I thought he was going to say, I thought he was going to say more than two. Is that a weekend thing? No, it's usually in the middle of the week because I just need it as it picked me up. Lunch or dinner? Lunch or dinner? You drive him to Taco Bell well.
Starting point is 01:00:43 That's what happened. Fourth meal. Like, you have it late at night? Yeah. Are you drinking? Nine or ten? Sometimes. It is a...
Starting point is 01:00:53 Patrick. A fourth meal from Taco Bell is exclusively for people that are drinking, I thought. Not for families of 20 or whatever. You eat four times a dead? It hits so much better. No. I don't eat breakfast. I don't eat a lot of lunch.
Starting point is 01:01:09 I don't eat a lot. No. Until 10 p.m. when you eat Taco Bell. Yeah. But then I'll eat a lot of Taco Bell once a week. Are you in Taco Bell right now? Yes. You are, aren't you?
Starting point is 01:01:22 Yes. Yes. That's an old Taco Bell. Yeah. Right? I just love Taco Bell. Yes. Feel good.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Patrick, out of curiosity, do you know off the top of your head how many points you have to accumulate to get a free cheese you or eat a crunch? I don't But I have the app right here So it should be It's like one of my It's like you just search it It's like boom right there So
Starting point is 01:01:51 You get You're like one of your main apps You're a Taco Bell Super customer Like they probably have you in a database And you're a one percenter For sure You're a one or you're a Taco Bell one percenter
Starting point is 01:02:04 So I'm at If he had a Spotify wrapped tea would be at the very top. I'm on the fire tier. I don't know what that means. I think that's good. Okay, I want to move on from this, but I do want to ask one more question. If you can't eat Taco Bell, are you a snob about the other Mexican fast food chains? Chipotle.
Starting point is 01:02:25 We have Taco Cabana in Texas. Chipotle. You've got Taco Casa? Taco Casa. What else is there? Chipotle. Do you have them in Florida? What competes with Taco Bell in Florida?
Starting point is 01:02:37 Those don't compete, Dan. What? The closest thing we have is, like, red burrito, I think, that just connected to Hardee's. And so it's like, it's not really the same. Never heard of it. You don't think Chipotle and Taco Bell compete, do you? No. No.
Starting point is 01:02:50 What's, what? Chipotle's trash. I hate Chipotle's so much. Chipotle is a million times better than Taco Bell. Chipotle is such great. No, I agree, but it's not the same thing. I can't stand to. It's fast, too.
Starting point is 01:03:00 It's, no. What? If you did an industry insider here, they're not in the same case. Category. No. Seriously. Like Taco Bell's in the Burger King McDonald's category, whatever that is. Yeah. The next category up when they pioneered this new invention, which is probably about 20 years old now. So a subway tier? What do you call it? Their quality, or a quick service restaurant. Yeah, so that's literally the fast food. No, it's two different things. It's the same words. No, they're different. What else is in Chopolities category like that? Chipotle. So like, technically Chitoba.
Starting point is 01:03:39 Freebirds? Would Subway be? I don't know. Kind of close. Kind of close. Yeah. Subway, I think Subway is down to.
Starting point is 01:03:50 There's a Greek one we have now called Kava. It's like Chipotle for Greek food. Like you make a bowl. In New York, there's, I don't know if they're anywhere, but in New York, there's Naya, which is Mediterranean, same idea. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:01 But no, if I, if you sat down and ask somebody if they want Taco Bell or Chipole, they'd be like, Those are two different types of meals. Yeah, that's a different choice. Yeah, completely different choice. Completely different choice. So, Dan, you're just wrong on that.
Starting point is 01:04:12 I've had conversations where people think they're similar. You're at a touch with the common man. Do you think it's the Texas part of us that knows it's different? No, I think Dan's just mistaken. He's a city boy. Nobody at this country club lifestyle. Nobody at 1 a.m. Nobody at 1 a.m. after drinking says, let's go to Chipotle.
Starting point is 01:04:32 They don't do that. What? You go to Jack in the Box, Taco Bell. No. Or White Castle slash Crystal, depending on it, which one you got. Wendy's. That's that category. People that are trying to eat healthy will go to Chipotle for lunch and be like,
Starting point is 01:04:49 just give me the bowl or the salad. You don't have that option at all. I'll eat Chipotle and not feel like I did something really bad. Right. Meanwhile, burritos 1,500 calories from Chipotle. All right, last thing here. I don't know what this is, but you guys have a clip entitled Jimothy. You're going to have to explain it to me.
Starting point is 01:05:06 I know nothing about this. I don't either. I just saw on the internet. It's just a weird-looking raccoon. There's this raccoon. What did you just say? Racken. Hold on.
Starting point is 01:05:16 Say it again. Rackett. It's a joke. Raccoon. Okay. I was like, is that some northern Yankee thing? Anyway, there's this raccoon- I don't like that at all.
Starting point is 01:05:26 Jimithy. We're going to be talking about on the TV, so get used to it, Gacy, okay? He looks like a mutant. No, I'm missing. That is so unsettling. It's like that scene from signs. Is he really?
Starting point is 01:05:41 He's missing part of his spine. Look at him. There's something wrong with him. He's like deformed. I'm going to say something I probably, I probably shouldn't. But that thing looks like it needs to be put down. It's got something wrong with it. Whoa, that's very mean.
Starting point is 01:05:53 I said I shouldn't say it. They could still live in the back. Put him out of his misery. I don't know. His legs look extra long and his torso is extra short. That is not right. He looks like he is one mutation away from walking on two feet. Yeah, no, I don't like it.
Starting point is 01:06:07 Is he happy? Is he a happy raccoon? His name's Gemmuthy. Oh, then if he's happy, then he's... He looks like he thinks something's very wrong. I love that his name's Jimothy. It's great. Like, would you, like, you, are you scared of wild animals like that?
Starting point is 01:06:22 If I saw that thing at night, it would disturb very much. I mean, that in the day time, it's... I'm sorry. Yeah. No, I... It's getting blasted. If that thing crawled up on you at any time of day, I don't care how sunny it is, it's got to go. No, it's got to go.
Starting point is 01:06:38 And that's saying something because raccoons are pretty cute. Yeah, no, that one is not. In Texas, that thing is not, there's no video of that thing in Texas. Where is that? Where is Jimothy? Seattle. Seattle. Yes, that's why he's still alive. That's why he's still alive.
Starting point is 01:06:55 In the south, that thing is not seeing the light of day for very long. That is a chop zone, Seattle raccoon, if I've ever seen. That dude is transitioning. addiction. He is. For sure. He is voting DSA. He identifies as a different animal. Yes, he is definitely taken over a police station. Well, like, what, Patrick, why is this, why is this viral just because of how terrifying it is or did he do something? Or is he just living? Or is he just living his life? Is that slowed down? He has things to say about police use of force. Yeah. No, I hate it. And I hate the way he crawls down, like, the way he has to like, look at that. What are we
Starting point is 01:07:34 doing? Like, I hate that. We're talking. We're talking. We're talking. about that on TV today? They might never invite me back if I have to do this on TV. I just want you to be prepared. Okay, Casey, be prepared. Well, thank you. I need a gun to look at that thing again. Casey Smith will be with us today on the Will Kane.
