today our guest is somebody who wants you to see him visually let's go check it out on
youtube for years he worked with our buddy two at a's dan which i learned in the course of this
broadcast also is called twos did you hear me awkwardly say after perloff called you two's i
tried to pick it up like like um it's a little bit like your college friend meeting your high school
friend was like oh yeah we call him twos as well yeah it was just
Just like that.
Yeah, everyone eventually ended up calling me just twos.
Instead of two a day.
Yeah, I felt like the college friends like, oh, oh, yeah, we got a nickname like that.
Yeah, I totally knew that.
Yeah, for years worked with two of days on the Dan Patrick show.
And you guys worked together for a long time.
And now here he is.
He's out on his own, and he's going to join us here on the Will Kane show.
Are you nervous?
Well, you know, you book the guests and you're a little nervous for the guest.
But Andy's great.
We've worked together a long, long time.
He's one of the best man.
He loves the NFL and he loves talking about it.
What are you nervous about?
Like us not hitting it off?
Like what if he and I don't like each other?
Exactly.
Yeah.
I mean, he's got a surprise.
Like you're trying to book Florio.
That would make you really nervous if Florio and I were together here on the Wilming.
That's my next one.
Yeah, yeah, that's my next one.
Well, he's no longer on the Dan Patrick's show.
He's now out of his own and he has a radio show.
Maggie and Perloff.
It's on Sirius X.
It's 6 to 10 a.m.
every morning on SiriusXM channel 158.
You can also go read him at Athlon Sports
where he's a contributor,
follow him on X at Andrew Perloff.
I'm excited to have him on the show today.
Let's see if we can ensure that it doesn't put
twos in a bad spot.
Let's hope that we can get along.
Here is, Andrew Perloff.
What an a...
You didn't have to tilt down.
I can see it.
No one else wears that Kelly Green.
What is that? Randall Cunningham?
Yes. Who do you think of? Of course, it's number 12.
I'm glad you're proud of that jersey.
I mean, it represents a period of time in my life that I would describe as perhaps my golden age of football memories.
That was year and year out dominating the Eagles, really honestly dominating the NFL.
That's the 90s Cowboys.
Well, it's also in my glory days.
I mean, we had our head coach put a bounty on your kicker.
I mean, that is for a kid in high school in Philadelphia.
that was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.
They were my dream team.
They embodied Philadelphia.
Not afraid to scrap dirty.
I had Randall Cunningham, my favorite player of all time.
So I know it was a Cowboys hero to win Super Bowls,
but it was also a great time for Philly.
I love that team so much.
I respect Randall Cunningham.
I respect that as your hero.
When we played you in the 90s,
I had a healthy respect for Randall Cunningham
because he was an early version of, honestly, kind of like,
I know this may not sound like the compliments you want it to be,
but of Vince Young.
And I say that kind of as a Longhorn fan,
less as a reflection of him as a titan.
Tall, lanky, throw, run.
I had a healthy fear of Randall Cunningham.
But you guys, like, if I painted an image of you and who you were in our minds,
you were Buddy Ryan.
And you were Jimmy Johnson saying,
Buddy ran his fat little butt off the field.
I tried to say something to him after Bountygate.
I can't disagree with that.
But listen, I grew up actually watching Tom Landry
destroyed Dick Vermeil, except for 1980.
My dad talks about the 1980 game.
I don't know.
Well, you probably don't remember that.
The NFC title game where the Eagles finally won
and Dick Vermeal got carried off.
For Philadelphia people, we did not have a ton of winning.
So this was a seminal moment.
I mean, it is, you know, basically it's the Liberty Bell, it's the Declaration of Independence,
it's Dick Vermeal getting carried off crying until 2017.
That's all we had.
Let's play a game, Andrew.
Let's play a game of Would You Rather?
Would you rather?
And I want you to be honest now.
He's stating here today on the Will Kane show in his Kelly Green, Randall Cunningham, Jersey,
which let me take a minute to just, I think it's a compliment, but it's a backhanded compliment.
much better-looking uniform than the modern-day version of green that you're wearing today.
That Eagles, you need to go back to this version of the Eagles.
Oh, 100%.
There's no doubt.
I don't like the whole era of uniforms from, say, 98 to 2010.
Not great.
Like, did you see what the C-Honts are doing?
Yes.
I love.
Throw-back, throw-back, throw-back.
This is, for me, my favorite Eagles color.
I mean, the Cowboys, for example, don't really need to.
I think there's some classic teams that don't have that issue,
but I don't know what teams are doing late with.
There's nothing creative.
It feels like that classic look.
And even if you want to go back to the 80s, it's awesome.
I'm all for it.
I am totally with you on the era of the Nadir of uniforms,
meaning like whatever the Broncos did in about, what was it,
1996 or seven when they changed over the Patriots i don't like the Patriots changing over from pat the
patriot you could just go down the list like all of these teams made really bad uniform choices
rewind to early 90s and 80s and you're way better looking the thing i will say there's two squads
the jags and the seahawks that if they want to go full organ ducks i embrace like because i don't
think that Seahawks have a little more tradition to their uniform, but there's something about
the Seahawks, and they've kind of toyed with some of this texture to their uniforms, but the
Jags don't have a bunch of history. So go full Oregon. And like, I liked when the Jags did the
chrome helmets that faded from black to gold. I loved that helmet. Everybody else hated it.
But if you are not a team that's been around since the 60s, have fun with your uniforms.
play with it otherwise go back to the 80s so you're going to make a lot of people mad
well you know that you know that if you for some reason people hated color rush it because
i think when they did color rush on thursday night uh when it was the jaggs and titans seem
to play every Thursday night the football was crappy so people associated in their mind
an alternate jaggs uniform with bad football so i think if you're going to do it you got to make
sure it's a good team and i don't honestly i don't think the jags are your team to go or
If Oregon has done that and not won a ton of games,
then would it have been as cool?
I don't think so.
But, okay, but we, I just used Oregon.
This is my philosophy on anything.
If you don't have tradition holding you down,
and I'm sure you could guess, Andrew,
I'm a big fan of tradition.
But if you don't have tradition,
then go full innovation.
So there are some teams, even in college football,
like, I like that Baylor does it.
And I like the TCU does it.
And by the way, I know they have some tradition.
I'm talking about more about, like, traditional uniforms that are iconic.
I don't want to see the University of Texas ever mess with their uniform.
But if the TCU Hornfrogs want to go full chrome and a little bit of, you know, blood spitting out of their face mask, then I love it.
And that's my point with the Jags.
Like, I think the Jags should be tricking it up every season until they get it right.
Yeah, but you know what people are saying.
people would say, oh, they're just a uniform team, don't they have to win first? Because
it's funny about the Jaggs. Why are the Jags getting such a pass after that disaster
last year? Like, nobody's picking them. I've looked at everybody's picked. No one hasn't been
Super Bowl. My buddy, Peter Schroger, has them in the playoffs, and that's a big deal. But I think
the Jags have to win. People do not generally, in my opinion, nationally, people do not respect that
franchise because they haven't done it yet. So I don't think they're the innovator here. I just don't
think people take it seriously.
It's the make or break year, I think.
I guess it's the make or break year, at least reputationally for Trevor Lawrence.
Let's actually pick up there.
I'm going to come back to a game of Would You Rather with Andrew Perlough here in just a moment
on the Will Cain Show.
But you're talking about predictions.
So I looked at the athletic.
I've said it to my audience on several times.
I actually pay for way too many subscriptions out there.
I pay for every video streaming service there is.
But I pay for the athletic and it's owned by the New York Times.
but I think it's really good.
You're at Athlon.
You have a new column up at Athlon, by the way,
where you kind of say,
you make the optimistic argument for the Cowboys.
Meanwhile, over on the Athletic,
they have a survey of NFL execs.
I always find these surveys fascinating.
Mike Sandow doing his quarterback tiers,
which is based upon a survey of scouts and GMs
across the NFL.
But this is NFL execs,
and when they came back with three teams
most likely to disappoint this year,
Their answers were, number one, the Dallas Cowboys,
number two, the Buffalo Bills.
And just because three is a good round number,
their third team that would disappoint was the Miami Dolphins.
Now, you make the positive argument,
the optimistic argument,
that why would you bet on the Dallas Cowboys
to be surprisingly bad
when they've been three straight years of 12 and 5,
and nothing much has changed?
Yeah, that's the thing.
We talk about them every day on my show, every day, the entire summer.
But, you know, week one, Dak Pressout is going to be there.
C.D. Lamb's going to be there. And Micah Parsons is going to be there.
Everyone acts as if they, the fact that they didn't get free agents is this huge negative here.
But free agency is so overrated. You look back at almost every year, 80% of the free agents that signed were either over the hill or too expensive.
And the Cowboys really haven't been that aggressive in that field in the last 10 years.
and I think they built the team the right way.
What happened was Jerry said we're all in.
So when they actually did not go all in, everyone said, well, this is a failure.
But the truth is, if you hadn't said all in, then you can look at this as a sort of smart, conservative way to team build.
And I think we could credit them for that.
It also looks like they had a killer draft.
I think they got all ease on their report cards.
But if this draft class looks like people think it will, they're going to end up having a great.
great offseason.
You know what's interesting, Andrew?
So life is about what you tell yourself, where you set your expectations in the story
that you and others say about you.
And you're exactly right.
Jerry is just about the story.
He's going to constantly hype up the Cowboys, create, I hate this word, but narratives,
and give first take a reason to do half their segments on the Cowboys.
And that's great.
But for the first time, I think it's wearing on the fan base.
I think it's wearing on Cowboys fans.
You know, I was born and raised outside of Dallas.
I live in Dallas again, back in Texas.
But so you're exactly right.
The reputation of Jerry Jones and Dallas Cowboys
is the reputation that was set in the 90s.
We're going to go sign Dion Sanders.
We're going to play big in free agency.
We're going to trade two first-round draft picks for Joey Galloway.
But that's not who they've been for a long time.
You use the word conservative.
Team building.
Very conservative.
Doesn't really play in free agency.
agency, builds from the inside out, like constantly drafting offensive linemen in the first round
and doing a really good job at it, to your point.
Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe look really good so far, like they're going to be starters.
And if this had manifested, I think even in one, but certainly two Super Bowls,
you would probably be talking about Dallas as the model franchise done in the way of the New
England Patriots.
Like, you know, we would sit there and talk about all the things you're saying.
he's not the path to success. You draft
and you develop. Well, that's what the Cowboys
have done. They've draft and developed.
They haven't spent a free agency. The problem
is it's only resulted in
losses in the first round,
maybe the second round of the playoffs.
Well, tell me if you agree
with this. Jerry Jones is
the mouthpiece for the Cowboys, but I don't
think he's really running the personnel's
side. He says he is.
But it feels like there's somebody,
probably Will McLeigh, who's making a lot
of smart decisions,
that I think you're right.
We would praise if they'd gotten over the hump.
We have every, I tell you, we have talked a lot of Cowboys.
Every guest we have on, I ask them, who do you think is running the Cowboys?
And nobody, Trey Wingo was on last week.
You know, he knows the team really well.
He said, it's not Jerry.
It's the two front office guys.
You know, we had Calvin Watkins on, Dallas Morning News.
He's like, well, Jerry has a big role, but there are a lot of people making smart personnel decisions.
So I just think this narrative that Jerry is sitting in the war room and saying, go get me this position.
It's just not a fact.
I think they are a conservative team.
And that's why, yes, they can't get over the home.
I can't exactly explain why that's happening, why they're falling short in the playoffs.
I don't have an easy answer for you.
But the fact that they build their team this way from the inside out, as you said,
that is why they're going to have sustained success.
And I don't think they're driving this ship or this train off a cliff right now.
But everybody else seems to think it's going off a cliff.
I think they're going to be steady right around 10, 11, 12 wins.
Their wind totals are nine to a half.
I think they can beat that.
Now, the different question, and I have not gotten a good answer, why can't they win the Super Bowl?
Is it, I have a suspicion that DAC plays a role.
I do have a suspicion.
So when I'm not killing them for not committing for six years of Dak Prescott.
That, to me, the quarterback's role is not just to be good, but to lift the whole team.
And for some reason, that's not happening.
And I'm a Dak Prescott fan, but it's not happening in the playoffs.
All right.
brings us to our game of Would You Rather? Now, I'm not probably going to do all 32 teams,
but I am going to go down a list, and I am curious what you'll say. And I want to start with your team,
the Eagles. And I think the only fair way to do is to say, not if you're starting your franchise
or you're building from scratch, but if you are looking to win over the next, let's say five
years. Would you rather have Dack Prescott or Jalen Hertz?
Why are you doing this to me? I mean, listen, I have family in Philadelphia. They're going to
hear this. I would go Dak Prescott. And I'll tell you why, I was incredibly disappointed
with Jalen Hertz last year. He got this huge contract and maybe his knee was hurt, but he's
decided I am not going to run. And it decimated the offense. It turned a special offense into
There's something completely predictable.
By the end of the season, the opposing defenses knew everything that was coming because they lost their special weapon.
Jalen Hertz, I saw opportunities.
He couldn't run and he hit the ground.
I think his stay in Philadelphia might be limited because Carson Wentz was awesome as a second year player was a big part of that Super Bowl team.
And they moved on.
Howie Roesman got nervous and moved on to Jailen Hertz.
I think Jalen Hertz is going to have a tough couple of years.
I'm actually picking the Cowboys this year.
I don't think we're going to see the elite Jailen Hertz we saw in 2023.
So, Dak, I think, is steady.
I think Dak knows how to read the defense really well.
He's going to have very good stats as long as he has some weapons.
He has C.D. Lamb.
I think Jailen Hertz is about to take a little bit of a fall in the overall quarterback rankings.
I have always been a believer in Jalen Hertz as a person.
I have not been a believer in Jalen Hertz as a quarterback dating back to his days at Alabama and Oklahoma.
I actually as a person, I'm rooting for Jalen Hertz to be good,
but I would definitely take Dak over Jalen.
Now, I'm going to say, let's start down the path a little bit.
Would you rather have, our boy, Two a Days,
is a big Green Bay Packers fan.
We're just projecting over the next five years.
Would you rather have Dak, Prescott, or Jordan Love?
Oh, Jordan Love.
I mean, who would want Dak Prescott or Jordan Love?
But the problem is, well, but you're, okay, but here's the thing.
I'll make the argument for DAC.
And the best argument for Jordan Love is going to be his rookie.
Well, what is, he's not a rookie because he sat around for years.
I don't know what his contractual situation is.
I don't know, I don't know how long you have Love at a below market rate contract.
He's already signed.
They gave him the big money.
He's signed.
He's there.
And so what is he getting it?
But what is big money?
Is he 40?
Is he 35?
I don't remember what Jordan Love's contract is.
Choose can check this.
He's over 50.
he's at the top of the market they decided to commit okay so yeah he's that all right so
quarterback so contract is is not an issue then the issue for me what i would say is projection
you take half a season of jordan love and one game against doc descott where he was incredible
and you are projecting that out over five years and you and i i don't know if we can do it off the top
of our head but we could easily come up of a list of half a dozen or more quarterbacks who had that
half a season and did not turn into a guy, the DAC Prescott has been for, what are we looking
at now, nine years in the NFL, eight, nine years in the NFL. So like you said, we know what
DAC is going to be. What is that? One of the best statistical quarterbacks in the NFL, one of the best
statistical quarterbacks in the NFL, you know, multiple 12 wins seasons, big win seasons,
obviously doubts in the playoffs. And you are going to bet on the upside of Jordan Love for the next five
years over Dak Prescott? I have 30 years of Prescott. It's called the Green Bay Packers
quarterback room. I have Brett Farr going into Aaron Rogers, going into Jordan Love, and I tell
you, he looks like Aaron Rogers. He throws it off his back foot, 40 yards on a rope. He's got,
I just love the way he throws football. I think he, I think they did it. I mean, Will, I think
they solved the problem. I think they are going from Barb to Rogers to love, Hall of Famer,
Hall of Famer, Hall of Famer. I think Love's Upside is just tremendous.
I think he's going to be a 40 touchdown guy this year.

All right, two days is here.
He's got the contract information
on Jordan Love.
Thank you for backing me on that, Andrew.
I appreciate that.
So Jordan Love signed a four-year,
$220 million contract dissension.
Okay, so that's $55 million a year.
That's incredible, by the way.
All right.
I think it is incredible.
By any objective metric, it's half a season and $55 million a year.
What a career.
Oh, my gosh.
Train your kid to be a quarter of.
All right, here's, I'm interested in your answer on this.
Dak Prescott versus Justin Herbert,
Los Angeles Chargers.
Oh, that's, you got to go, you.
I mean,
DAC is not going to be able to run
like a young DAC.
Justin Herbert's nothing but upside.
He's got Jim Harbaugh there.
It's going to be a good five years
for Justin Herbert.
There's very few quarterbacks.
I would not take over Justin Herbert.
Come on, just eyeball.
The dude, six, five, and throws like a Greek God.
He is going to be great.
At some point,
all of the things people dock,
Dak Prescott, four, have to be held against other people as well.
Like, where is the Chargers winning?
Where are they winning in the regular season?
Where is the, they didn't make the playoff?
When are they even going to win in the playoffs?
Like, when is Justin Herbert held to the same standard as Dak Prescott?
I'll give you, he's only been doing it over three or four years, but at some point he's got
a, how many years is it for Justin Herbert now?
What are we at, five or six years?
So he was with Chua.
At some point he was right, yeah, yeah, five.
So we're at five years.
At some point, the standards have to be equal.
At some point, you stop being the guy who's going to be something
and you are the guy who is something.
People will say that Justin Herbert has had less to work with
and the Chargers, but the Chargers did have elite receivers.
Here's the thing.
Jim Harbaugh is going to change the history of that team.
It's hard to imagine that he's not going to win it.
So that's sort of part of my projection.
I don't know if you're doing quarterback to quarterback or team.
I mean, within five years, who's more likely to get to a sort of.
Super Bowl. Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers or Dak Prescott and the Cowboys. I think it's Chargers.
All right. I'm going to assume you're going to say Joe Burrow. We won't even spend time debating Joe Burrough. Trevor Lawrence versus
Dak Prescott. You've, oh, right now, you're giving me both. You again. I'm a big Trevor Lord.
We've really lowered the proof. Oh, come on. Trevor Lloyd, again, eyeball. The guy is 6-6.
another he's a Greek god of
quarterbacking part two
I have eyeballs I don't need analytics
Trevor Lawrence I think he's underrated
people are down on Trevor Lawrence he's still a very
good quarterback now that team has made
some terrible draft picks and that made some
mistakes around him but he's
legit
gosh now I'm going to have to back up
I've got to back up and do two
just to make sure
Dak Prescott versus Baker Mayfield
oh Dak
10 times out of 10
okay thank you
Dack Prescott versus Cousins.
Dack, although, yeah, Dack, it's close.
They're very similar.
Okay.
Now, I know where you're going to go, so we don't have to debate.
Dack Prescott versus C.J. Stroud.
You're going to take Stroud.
I mean.
Dack Prescott.
Dack Prescott versus Brock Purdy.
Dack Prescott.
I mean, God, that's,
so unfair. Yeah, I'm going to probably go, Dak. But Dad, you threw me off there. You threw me off,
because you can't separate Brock Purdy from the Niners. If you put Brock Purdy on the Cowboys,
he would not be as good as Dak Prescott. Therefore, that's really fair.
But we've also figured out that Andrew Perloff is a big visuals guy, 6-6, you know, first-round
draft pick versus a guy who's literally been to the Super Bowl and Brock Purdy. But I agree with you
about Purdy. He's a product of San Francisco.
Well, I like to say that...
We're not going to be too.
I like to say I'm analytic
and I look at the numbers and the stats
but you see Justin Herbert
throw a football and you throw out all the analytics.
And you know how that is.
You know what I'm talking. You would choose Dak.
I want to go back. You would choose Dak over Justin Herbert.
That one's close. I will give you.
That one's close.
I have such a schizophrenic relationship
with Dak Prescott, if I'm being honest.
I think he is criminally underrated,
at least reputationally with the public.
I think the public thinks he's trash.
Now, I am, I'm not, I don't mean to talk about myself like this, but I'm Will Kane.
So I am going to get a lot of Dak Prescott hate.
I'm going to read Dak is trash a lot.
It's going to come my way, you know.
So I feel like the public thinks Dak is trash.
He's mediocre.
Like if he was a free agent and the giant signed Dak Prescott,
I feel like half the Giants fan base would be upset.
And I'd be like, you just vaulted yourself into the playoffs and sent the Cowboys to the bottom of the division if that happened.
But I, so I see all the same.
stats. I've spent years in this debate. I know how he compares, for example, to Tom Brady or anyone
else or Patrick Mahomes in the regular season. But then my other side of me is what you said. It's like,
I also know when he has a big game, he's not the same guy. He just hasn't been. And I have this
faith inside me every time that he's finally going to show everybody who he can be. Because I also think
he's a really quality dude. And I think he's a consummate leader. And then somehow it doesn't
happen for him in the big games.
So, like, that's the
schizophrenic side of my relationship
with him. It's like, now I have my doubts
after a cumulative number of years about
like this. Like, I have no doubt,
Dak will be in the MVP race this year.
How about that? I guarantee you
his name will be debated for the NFL MVP.
And I don't have a ton of faith
that this season will turn out any differently in the
playoffs. Yeah, I'm
100% with you.
Unfortunately, I, you know, I'm an Eagles fan, so
I root against the Cowboys. It's in my blood.
but I do root for Dak Prescott,
especially because it feels like the world is against them.
Like they, not only do they think he can't win a Super Bowl,
I sense people don't want him to win a Super Bowl.
I don't really know what that's about exactly,
but I get it, it might be the star.
Nationally, I sense people are rooting against Dak
getting over the hunt.
Yeah, I think that's about the Cowboys,
because it's not about the man.
I mean, there's nothing to root against Dak Prescott.
Our Dak Prescott versus Jared Goff, would you rather?
Oh, definitely, Dak Prescott.
That one's easy.
Same thing.
If you think Purdy's a product of San Francisco,
you think Tua is a product of Miami.
Oh, you take Dack Prescott.
A hundred percent.
Dack would be amazing in Miami.
All right.
Matt Stafford,
Dack Prescott.
Matt Stap.
And in fact.
Well,
what's the age difference on those two?
I thought we were doing youth.
What is, like, 31?
What is Stafford?
It's just.
They need to bring the hometown kid back to Dallas
because of the narrative because the football gods
want Matthew Stafford to win a Super Bowl in Dallas.
I mean, honestly, if you're going to move on from DAC,
to me that would be your number one choice in the free agent market
because I know he's older and he has injuries.
There's no doubt about it.
But, man, he's so good.
I think he's underrated.
I've claimed for years that he's a hallfamer.
And I think people have finally come around to that because he's got massive numbers
at a ring. I'm a big
snapper fan.
You're going to take Lamar Jackson, you're
going to take Josh Allen over
Dak Prescott. That's the game of Would You Rather
with Andrew Perloff. Now, I want to ask
you a hypothetical. We're going to keep it tied to Dak
Prescott for one more moment. You said you're used to talking
about the Cowboys before we get into the broader
NFL and Will versus
the experts. The way I see it is
Jerry Jones
and as to your point,
perhaps Stephen Jones are having
this debate. Do we pay
Dak Prescott, $60 million a year
when we don't know if we can win a Super Bowl
with Dak Prescott.
And the question is, what is your
alternative? Your alternative
hopefully is
not to enter the wilderness like the
Washington Redskins slash commanders
or the New York Giants.
Hopefully you have a plan.
And the only plan that I can think of,
unless there's something like you just described,
somehow bringing a guy like Stafford in or
Aaron Rogers after he's done with the Jets,
is to go into the draft,
go into the draft and start playing the game.
But the problem is DAC is going to keep you good enough.
And I talked about this earlier this week on The Will Kane Show,
is going to keep you good enough
that you're never going to be in the top 10 of the draft.
You don't have multiple picks to trade up.
So the only way you're going to able play this game
and say Jerry Jones falls in love with, say,
Quinn Ewers, quarterback at UT,
which I could totally picture them falling in love with Ewers,
is that you're going to trade like three or four years
worth of first round picks to climb up there
and do that. And my question is, what is bigger mortgage of your future?
$60 million to Doc Prescott or trading away multiple years of first-round picks to go get a 50-50
proposition in Quinn Ewers?
First of all, I don't think that's going to happen. When have the Cowboys done that? They'd never
done that. They passed on Johnny Manson. Jerry wanted Johnny Mansell. They passed on him.
Jerry doesn't take the local quarterback, really. So I'm not sure that scenario plays out.
I do think what you really have to fear is he'll think, oh, I got Tony Romo undrafted.
I got Dak in the fourth round.
I'm a genius of finding these quarterbacks.
I don't need a first round pick.
I'm going to take somebody in the second round.
And by way, I do think Ewers falls in the first round.
I think the first round, honestly, we're not going to break it down it.
But I think Cam Ward and Carson Beck are sure things at the top five.
And then I think it's Chador, Ewers, and maybe Jackson Dart.
I don't think those guys are all top 10.
I think Ewers will fall a little bit.
I just don't think he's, I just don't think he's the thrower
and some of those other guys are.
Wow, that is horrific.
First of all, you got Cam Ward in the top 10 if off of one game.
And it's off of one game.
It's not last year, trust me.
It's Miami.
There were moments last year.
There were moments last year.
I will tell you right now, I'll make a wager with you.
Yes.
Quinn Ewers will be a top 10 drafted quarter.
quarterback in the NFL, and I'm going to tell you why, because you used, there's one thing
you said there's incredible, he's not the thrower those guys are. He's perhaps the best
thrower in this draft. Oh. What he will get... Talk to scouts. They are mixed on his arm.
That can't be. They can't be. I don't know who you're talking to. It's not his arm. His arm is
incredible. I mean, like, we're talking Rogers and Mahomesian level arm here. Now, I'll give you
It's not. It's reputation.
No, I mean, did you see that no look past this weekend into the end zone?
I mean, he literally looked like Aaron Rogers on that touchdown.
Now, I will give you not a real accurate deep ball, not, I don't know, gets nervous in the pocket, can he read and progress?
These are questions that I think are legit.
I'm not worried about his arm.
And I think that arm's going to push him in the top ten.
You know, I always thought, so I met him when he was in high school at a quarterback camp, and he was zinging it everywhere.
I'm like, oh my God, this is an incredible prospect.
But we had a couple people on my show.
He said, well, I don't know.
He throws a lot of softballs out there, like that he's not,
I just don't think he's as talented as some of those other guys.
I'd be, and look at a mock draft wheel, pull one up.
Quinn Ewers is not in the top 10 right now.
He just, he's not played that one.
We'll see.
I mean, Michigan also, Michigan is tough.
All right, I want to do a bet.
I want to do a bet.
I bet you can't go ahead of Quinn yours.
I think I like Quinn Ewers going in the top 10 more
because I also think there's quarterback inflation
in every NFL draft and, you know,
before you know it, Bo Nix went, what, 12th?
Yeah.
Which, by the way, credit to Bo Nix,
he's starting for the Denver Broncos.
I feel more confident, but I'll take that bet.
Just, yeah, I'll take Ewers versus Ward.
I'll take that.
What do we bet?
I hope I didn't, I mean, it's got to be something Philly, Dallas related,
even though Cam Ward is from San Antonio, but whatever.
Or actually, he's probably somewhere in Texas.
Gosh, are you a cheese steak fan?
Oh, I like this.
I was just thinking this, yeah.
You send me, if I win, you send me the best cheese steak, okay?
Yes.
If I win, if you win, I have to send you.
How about barbecue?
I'll send you a brisk.
100%.
I was already thinking, what's the spot?
What's the best barbecue place in Dallas and you're going to send me?
It's probably Pecan Grove.
And so I'll send you a brisket.
Hopefully they pack and ship it.
I'll send you a brisket from Pecon Grove.
It's a little bit.
The price differentials there, but that's all right.
That's all right.
You can send me two cheese steaks.
All right.
All right.
So we'll come back to the NFL, but there's a perfect transition.
to play another game of Will versus the experts.
All right, week one, college football exclusive.
I went two and three against Trey Wallace,
Voutkick, who went one and four.
We pick five games.
We're going to pick against Andrew Perloff today.
We'll just go down the list.
We're going to start in college football,
and we're going to start with a rivalry game.
I try to pick games that I'm most interested in
that we're going to be watching,
that everybody listening and watching,
will also be watching or paying attention to.
So Iowa State versus Iowa.
It's at Iowa.
Iowa is favored by two and a half.
So the cyclones are getting two and a half points.
Which way you go on that, Perlough?
So I can't go under enough on Iowa because there's a sort of myth out there that Iowa's figured out their offense this year.
I don't know where that came from.
I am picking Iowa to win this game because they have really owned Iowa State.
I think Iowa State is not going to move the ball at all.
I got like 17-13, that kind of game.
Over under, I think it's 36.
I got a real close win by Iowa.
I'm not sure why this spread is that close.
I just people think that Iowa's not going to score.
But the only thing that worries me is Iowa State with a back to recover.
But I feel really confident that Iowa continues its dominance.
I'm going to take the Cyclones.
I think they have a potential to have a big year actually in the Big 12.
And you can say, well, what does that mean?
Be better than Utah.
But Iowa State and Matt Campbell, I'm going to take.
I've done this bet before.
I feel like I make a mistake.
It's somehow Iowa always grinds out a six to three win.
But I'm going to take the cyclones.
All right, Texas, minus seven and a half at the big house taking on Michigan.
So I can't believe I was saying mean things about Quinn yours because he's about to put on a display.
I don't think, how big this Michigan team is ready to go in the sense that like I think they'll be better by the end of the year.
They have so many new guys in there that I think they're going to get tough and they're going to slow it down in Big Ten.
play i think texas getting them in the right time and texas is way more talented right now way faster i
think they take advantage uh i think if this game was in a cold weather in november be much
different but early in the season i'm definitely going with sark in the longhorns
you know i started this week thinking texas could win by three touchdowns i really am super
confident um and i you know i i read all my longhorns blogs all my recruiting letters and the more i
and break down Michigan this week.
That is a really good defense, though.
Michigan is good on the defensive line at linebacker and the defensive backfield,
safety and corner.
They are good.
And if you're right about Quinn Ewers, then that could be problems.
I still think, to your point, Texas is way too talented.
I mean, Will Johnson, Michigan's first round cornerback, can only shut down one of their
six receivers, you know, so I think Texas is too much.
I'm going to stick with too much by too much.
I'm going to lay the seven and a half and take Texas.
I feel really good.
I also think, I don't know how Michigan, Texas isn't like going to be incredible at defense.
They're going to be good, though.
And Michigan doesn't look good at quarterback.
So I don't know how they're going to score to keep up with Texas.
All right, let's go to the NFL.
We'll save our two teams for the last.
So this is going to push us into Monday night.
New York Jets, plus four and a half at San Francisco.
I'm really intrigued by this game, Andrew.
I mean, what else do you have to do to help out the Jets here?
You get Trent Williams into camp late.
You get Brandon Ayuk in at camp late.
You have maybe the emotional fallout of your first round pick
getting shot in the chest and the craziest story I remember in forever.
I mean, the Niners cannot be on their A game for this.
There's no way the Jets are going to be hype.
hopefully Air Rogers last more than four games.
I'm here in New York, so there is a little bias,
but this is so shaping up for a Jets win.
The Jets won that game after Air Rogers got hurt in week one last year.
I think the Niners take some time to gel.
I really, really like the Jets.
That's going to be my biggest pick of the week.
So that's going to say, let's just take a minute.
So 49ers rookie wide receiver, Ricky Piersall,
shot in the chest.
I haven't talked about the details of that yet.
in like you was it union square big tourist area uh san francisco by a 17 year old uh trying to rob him
this is horrific for san francisco which was already having horrific pub anyway when it comes to crime
and defecation in the streets but like a NFL player getting shot in the chest is about
as bad as it gets for san francisco as like a tourist brochure it's horrible
the amazing thing is he really you know not to be morbid he probably should have died you see him
walking out he's holding the middle of his chest it went through the middle of his chest and went
out the back and didn't hit didn't hit the body organ can contain the bleeding the uh woman police
officer had to put her hat in the back to stop the bleeding and put her uh hand on his chest like
it's crazy he walked away i do not under other guys have gotten shot and played quick
Like, you know, Brian Robinson, the running back, he came back really quickly.
But this is, you know that Ricky Pearsall was in the wait room yesterday on Tuesday after this
happened?
Yes.
I mean, it is incredible.
Not only that he didn't die, but he didn't even get injured.
He could be back by week six.
Is that what they're saying?
So a through and through bullet that doesn't break a rib, doesn't hit a vital organ, like what is, I know this sounds idiotic.
but it's tearing muscle tissue, right?
So you would think it would tear your peck
and tear your lat or trap
whatever it goes through right there in the back.
Those two, so then you've got to heal your muscle.
I don't know how big the tear is.
I'm sure it was a handgun at pretty close range.
I don't know, I'm just thinking about what that injury actually means.
Because in football, we're used to talking about injuries
and recovery from injuries.
We don't talk about gunshots that often
what the actual healing process of your body is.
So, I mean, you're talking about a month.
You said week six, that's five weeks, and then he's back playing?
I've heard people say the hardest part's going to be the mental part.
You know, can he be all there mentally?
But I mentioned another player.
A couple of players have gotten shot and come back pretty quickly.
You know, and not, I mean, Donald Trump got shot and was back on the campaign trail immediately.
Some people could compartmentalize.
I would be, I'd be freaked out for a long time.
Oh, yeah.
You're talking about from a mental standpoint.
Yeah, I think that's going to be the hard.
part. I think the bullet went right through, so I'm assuming those tissues heal really
quickly because there was nothing in there to cause bacteria or whatever to get in. So I really
think that physically he's going to be ready to go. The funny thing about it, though, you look at
their team. Do they really need Ricky Pearsall? He was just nothing but insurance for the high
price receivers they had. They don't need him so they could afford to bench him. But I don't know.
I wonder about the mental toll on the whole team. It's been a wild off season there in San
i mean hopefully for them they draw the cowboys in the first round it'll be fine but generally
it's been all sorry i had to take that shot there's been a lot of chaos there's been a lot of chaos
um i'm like you i'm going to take the jets by the way i don't know maybe i'm bomb the hype thing
i'm i'm excited about i mean i'm hoping it's going to be a full season of erin rogers on the jets
with a good defense i i i don't know i didn't draft i almost always want to draft garratt
Last year I had Garrett Wilson
I was ready for it to be like 120 catch season
This year probably will be
I don't have him
Now he's got Aaron Rogers I don't know
I think it's pretty exciting what's happening in New York
So I'll take the four and a half
All right let's go to your team
Green Bay getting two and a half against Philadelphia
Well first of all
Whatever happens in this game
Throw the result out the window
Because it is insane that they're playing in Brazil
And that they can't leave the hotel room
And that they're flying for nine and a half hours
and taking a home game away from the Eagles.
If I'm the Eagles, I'm furious with Roger Goodell.
I think the Packers win this game.
It's a neutral game.
So there's no home field advantage.
I think the Packers are a little bit of a better team.
Look at what they did.
I'm going to take the second half on and the playoff game against San Francisco
and the game against Dallas.
I think that they figured out something.
I think they're going to run it all over Philly.
Philly's defense is a bigger problem than everyone is talking about.
They think they can fill the holes.
I don't think they can.
They're too young.
a key spots.
I think Green Bay is going to score a lot of points here in Brazil
and come away with not just covering, but win it.
Well, I hope our bets don't come down to Iowa versus Iowa State
because I'm also taking the pack against the Eagles.
Yeah, I like it.
I like them.
We're on the same side of all the bets so far except for Iowa, Iowa, Iowa State.
So that takes us to finally Cowboys Browns into Cleveland.
the Browns are favored by two and a half.
So the Cowboys getting two and a half.
I mean, I'm not even going to, I'm going to go first on this one.
I'm taking the Cowboys.
Not like with a ton of confidence, but with some confidence.
I think the Brown's defense is the whole question here.
Miles Garrett, rookie left tackle, a lot of things like that that make me nervous,
but I still think the Cowboys are just a better team.
And so I'm taking the Cowboys.
Okay, so you were two and three last week?
Yeah.
I'm going to do some math here.
We're together.
We have to be different on two games.
So I am riding with Deshawn Watson, Miles Garrett.
The Cowboys, I do actually, I might have leaned that way on my show, the Cowboys, but they are kind of, you know, they are trying some things.
There are some young players, you know, they're starting that rookie linebacker.
They're showing with these new linemen.
I'm going to pick the Browns based on the fact that Cowboys have some adjustment period.
They're probably going to be a little nervous with Tom Brady calling the game.
You know, that's a big factor here.
I'm joking.
But I feel comfortable differentiating there.
I totally think that's going to be a great game or really close game.
I just say Cleveland, if you look at Cleveland in the second half of last year with Joe Flacco was pretty awesome.
I think Deshaun Watson is very conservative.
There's so much pressure on that guy.
he is going to run any time he can.
He will do anything to win this game
because I think it's now or never
for Deshaun Watson.
Yeah, who's going to play running back
for the Cowboys is actually a huge concern?
I mean, there's a chance this running game
is horrific in Dallas this year.
Well, they said they named Allian, right?
I am in the camp of, like,
who knows, Rico Dattle could be great
and, you know, you should probably try
that kind of thing with running backs.
I'm in that camp, but on the other hand,
could just be horrific.
What about my guy,
Deuce Vaugh?
Let's talk about this really quickly.
Deuce Vaughn, don't discount.
It's not, just he's short.
He's short, but he's good.
I like him.
He just didn't get any ground.
He didn't have any traction last year.
Like, I was kind of hyped for him last year,
but then he didn't do anything all season,
so I don't know how much hope I can put in Deuce Vaughn.
Is he 5.6?
What is Deuce Fon?
Is he 5?
On his, in platform shoes, he's 5.6.
He is 5-5.
Tom Brady, what do you expect from Tom Brady?
I think he's going to be awesome.
I think he's going to be really, really good at this.
And that's not because I work for Fox.
I think he's got to chill out.
I was at that.
He gave that speech at the Fanatics Fest,
where he was talking about how rookie quarterbacks
or have to go out too soon.
It's a tragedy.
Everything's a tragedy.
Everything is black and white.
He's got to get through a three-hour game.
He is treating these things.
I wrote it like a TED Talk,
where he's got to motivate the audience.
He's got to relax.
Yes, I want to see that.
But I don't know.
Everyone who was around him, like at the Fox retreat and everything,
said, oh, man, he's such a nice, chill guy.
He's really friendly.
Give us that.
Don't try it.
Don't try too hard.
That's all I would tell him.
You're Tom Brady.
Anything you say is very important.
Just because of by who you are.
You don't have to try so hard.
Just call the game as you see it.
I worry that he's going to put in a little too much juices at the first game.
That's really good advice.
I actually really like that.
But here, if I'm, if I'm an exec at Fox, I'll take that problem over a guy that has nothing,
a guy that has nothing to say, right?
So that's the risk.
You hired Joe Namath because he's Joe Namath.
You hired Joe Montana because he's Joe Montana.
And then for some reason he's got nothing to say when it comes to being a broadcaster.
So I think that would have been my concern with Brady because he spent so much time saying nothing,
calculated as it turns out but saying nothing um but he clearly is thoughtful he clearly has
original thoughts like he's not a cliche spouting um you know autobot that just gives us everything
we already know i think he's saying things that he's even risking a little bit of controversy on
and i think that's great but i do like your advice just tone it back everything you say is meaningful
because you're Tom Brady.
So you don't have to make everything you say
another 30 second clip on Instagram
that everybody likes and sends to their son.
Yeah, you can't sustain a whole season of that.
He's going to have to actually do your job.
It's funny because Tony Romo, your guy,
he didn't say much as a player.
He was always very, very careful.
And he kind of went too far the other way.
Now he won't shut up as a broadcaster.
Tony Robo was the hottest broadcast for the world three years ago.
His star has cooled because I think he,
kind of got off track a little bit.
I think he's better.
I'm a big Tony Romo fan.
I think he knows so much football.
But it's hard to find that right spot
where your energy is high enough,
but you're not overwhelming gym there.
So I think it's going to be
a little bit of an adjustment to Tom Brady.
Last thing.
I want two teams.
This happens every year in the NFL.
A team nobody thinks is going to make the playoffs does,
and a team everybody thinks is going to make the playoffs
doesn't.
And it usually is tied to whoever was in the playoffs,
last year who was not so um by the way for what it's worth caleb williams went third in my
in one of my fantasy drafts third it's a two-quarterback league but still is that's insane it's
it's insane um but there's quite by the way people that believe yeah so i was going to do the bears
but now again we're ready to protect you are i i still i was going to do the bears is that not a surprise
that's a great question i still think it is a surprise and i'm i wouldn't take the bears i would
that's not the team i wouldn't i would pick the commanders over the bears to be honest um but
i just Caleb williams has a horrible offensive line in front of him i still think that's how
you build a team you know and um they've tried they've spent some money there yeah i mean look at
the bear schedule bear schedule is super easy it's the third easiest in the league and they spent
a lot on their defense, and they've even
floos coached to the defense, and they had that
wide receiver core. They're
still my surprise.
All right, and who's the,
it could be your Eagles, but who
is the team everybody is putting in the playoffs?
The other popular name people are doing, by the way,
is the bills. But who's your
team that everyone thinks it's going to be
good? It won't be the playoffs.
This might be cheating. I think the
Miami Dolphins are going to be a letdown this year.
And maybe not
everyone has them in the playoffs, but you saw
happened last year all their defensive players got hurt and guess what those guys are still hurt
i just do not think they remind me of the chargers from the last three or four years i feel like
they're going to get injured yes there's going to be week four two is going to throw for 500 yards it's
to look awesome but then they're just going to fall off and they're going to be so injured by the end of the
year i think that team takes a major step back now they just signed their coach to an extension so he's
fine but generally i just think whatever expectations there are for miami i don't show
