Episode Date: July 27, 2026

Dr. Anthony Fauci’s diary has been revealed, and it paints anything but a positive picture of the “good doctor.” In today’s episode, Comedian Tim Young joins the show alongside Guest Host Kayc...e Smith of Barstool and The Crew to break down exactly where Dr. Fauci’s thoughts were while handling a nationwide pandemic, from his obsession with fame (and Barbra Streisand) to the truth about COVID that was withheld from the public eye.Plus, Kayce and Tim tackle some of today’s other top headlines, from Sophie Cunningham’s signature sneakers selling out within minutes, to the concerning lack of literacy among Gen Z college students.Subscribe to ‘Will Cain Country’ on YouTube here: Watch Will Cain Country!Follow ‘Will Cain Country’ on X (@willcainshow), Instagram (@willcainshow), TikTok (@willcainshow), and Facebook (@WillCainNews)Follow Will on X: @WillCain Learn more about your ad choices. I am Casey Smith, and I'm sitting here with Tim Young. I just need to tell everybody right now, just inside baseball, we've done a whole show. We did. For the last 30 minutes. We probably would have gotten the network suit, actually. I'm a few of the topics because I specifically named people and defamed them to you. Yes. You ask for the mics to be cut off. Dan and Patrick are obviously joining us as well. I think they could.
Starting point is 00:01:39 hear us. Could you guys hear us? I heard every word. Can they hear us now? I didn't hear anything. Good. Were you taking notes? Are we going to have like a bricks and minifigs story by the end of this? Like with the, there's going to be a lawsuit. I already had a transcribe. You're going to be showing up the service. Good. It's perfect. It was a, it was a very fascinating conversation, but then I was also told that you already knew what I was going to start the show with. So how long have you lived in Texas? Off and on for 15 years. Okay. So,
Starting point is 00:02:09 I was on the show with Will last week on, I believe, Wednesday, and we got into a very big argument about how to pronounce something, which I'm going to ask you. They didn't lead you into anything else, right? No. I do have a topic list. I'm prepared. That was it. The reason I'm bringing this up again. So if you're listening or watching and you remember it is because it was then clipped out, I believe Ellie then put it on social media. I was at my sister's baby shower in Austin, Texas this weekend. And I had people come up to me that I don't know weighing in on this very debate. So I'm going to ask you, Tim Young. of a baby you know which which restaurant this is correct oh yeah what a burger say it again waterburger
Starting point is 00:02:44 like what a burger yeah case closed thank you will told me it was the ugliest thing he'd ever heard that i said it what how does he say it he dan patrick he says water burger no water like water like in that clip water in that clip in that clip he says like water no it's what a burger it's what a burger right and i mean it's literally right there that's what the whole concept is tim when i tell you that he said he didn't hear anything else I said that it was so ugly and offensive that I should never be allowed to say the name again. I'm I'm you know he's like a New York guy I think ultimately at heart he's a New York guy's not a Texas guy anymore he tried to blame me living in New York on saying it no and I said spell it W-H-A-T-A-Burger what you think that Will has an accent a Texas accent no
Starting point is 00:03:33 a Texas accent you don't think it's a Texas accent that's insane when I talk to him I don't think so I think it's just normal to me. I think he's got the normal East Coast. Oh my God, I think he has a thick Texas accent. No. No. He, it's definitely a... Do you think I have a Texas accent? No. You said y'all on the call today. Well, I will say you. I do say
Starting point is 00:03:51 y'all. I do say y'all. Wait, you guys have prep calls when she fills in? I get nothing. You guys just go in tomorrow. Yeah. Just call him. We talk about for days. Why, I talked for days. But I talked to you because I thought we were friends. We are friends, but we talk about nothing. We talk about
Starting point is 00:04:07 nothing. We talk about it. We talk about it. We talk about video games and nerd things because I have no one else to talk to about it. I finally connect with Patrick. And, you know, like, he's got that same level of energy. Yes. And, like, he should be single of all people. But, like, me, I'm the one that ends up with them. He's got a full family and he's a nerd.
Starting point is 00:04:23 He's nine kids, right? Or nine on the way. The ninth is on the way? Eighth is on the way. Eighth's on the way. Oh, it's Rachel Campo's Duffy has nine. I know they're right there. It's like a race.
Starting point is 00:04:34 It's a race. It's a human race. Well, I'm also friends with both Patrick. and Dan too, and I just kind of force them to talk to me. I'm not friends with Dan, and I want to make that very clear. You should be. Oh, that hurts. Dan, did you offend him at some point?
Starting point is 00:04:46 No, we've just never, we've never exchanged numbers. Yeah. I'm not, I'm not, so I'm normally in New York. So I'm, yeah, I'm normally, so I'm normally with Dan. I do like video games. So we could talk about that. Well, we could have, we could have, like, group calls. We have conference calls about this.
Starting point is 00:05:02 There we go. As you're aware, I've started investing in a PlayStation 5 that I want, and that's, that's fine. And, like, I'm having a great time, and I like sharing that information with people. I call Patrick until he's like, okay, dude, enough. Oh, I bother Patrick, too. Maybe go back to drinking. Yeah, right.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Just pour a glass. What do you drink normally? Well, I have a whiskey collection. So I'm actually a whiskey smallier, and I have a whiskey room in my house. That is also a studio, by the way, for tax rate off purposes. Of course, naturally. I'm not going to have interviews there. But I have about a thousand bottles in my collection.
Starting point is 00:05:31 So it's like, I actually, it's like going to the liquor store. And I go in and I look around at my great wealth. and then pick what bottle I want. It's a thought process. I love that. I'm a wine girl, but wine and whiskey can go together, right? No, they can't. Not at the same time, but we can...
Starting point is 00:05:46 You can blend it? If you, if I drink a glass of wine and drink a glass of whiskey, that's a sophistication level that connects. My ex left like three or four cases. Wine at my house, you can have them. You can just have them. I don't live here, but I can say... Some stuff from the armpit of California that she used to fly out here.
Starting point is 00:06:01 Well, that doesn't sound appeasing. I don't want an armpit, arpit wine? There's good wine in Fresno, right? Shirley. Toilet wine. Gross. But the reason I, so I'm very tired today. This is all iced coffee, by the way.
Starting point is 00:06:12 I don't know how many ounces this is. But I, Patrick has to deal with me. I think, I don't know what time I texted you this morning, Patrick. It was right after I got done doing Fox and Prince far too early. I don't know how people willingly get up that early in the morning. My alarm went off at 4.15 this morning. I said, people get up to go to the gym. Why?
Starting point is 00:06:29 I don't understand that at all. There's like, there's a moment. So in the middle of, and I don't want to keep bringing this up, But I joined a dating apps this weekend. And there are a couple of types of women right now. Like once you hit like 35 or so and there's those women who do nothing but go to the gym until they have pecks. And it's like I don't understand that lifestyle. Like I got things to do like sleep and then travel and go waste money on things.
Starting point is 00:06:50 It is. I love to go to the gym. I try to work out as much as I can. I would rather not work out than work out that early in the morning. I'm just not that person. I guess credit to people who are. Absolutely not. When do you crash at night?
Starting point is 00:07:03 Like what's your bedtime? Well, it depends. If it's just me and my son's at home and I have nothing else, and I'm like, I don't know, 10? Wow. It's early. Yeah. And sometimes, so when I'm in New York, most of my friends are in Texas.
Starting point is 00:07:15 So the central time, like, they know after 9 central, just maybe don't text, unless there's something on TV that I want to watch. I am like 2 a.m. Oh, yeah. No. So, like, when I come in for this, I'm up at like 8 and that's like I get a solid four hours and that I come in. Patrick, what time do you go to sleep?
Starting point is 00:07:32 Well, I have usually pretty early. Yeah. Yeah, I wake up by seven at the earliest, earliest, I guess. And then I go to bed at like one or two. Can't confirm. Dan, what do you do? Depends what's happening. I'm going out, it's late from in.
Starting point is 00:07:48 It's 9 o'clock, 9, 10 o'clock. Yeah, see, I'm the same way. If there's a reason for me to stay up or something, if there's something on TV that I cannot miss, House of the Dragon. I'm going to stay up a little bit later because I know that that's on. If I get caught in a series, I'll stay up. I go down the YouTube rabbit hole at like 11. I have to make myself stop.
Starting point is 00:08:08 I start watching body cam footage, especially from DFW airport. That's the hot spot for a lot of drunks. Oh my God. TGI Fridays. I think it's the highest grossing TGI Fridays in the country is Terminal C. Really? Yes. And they haul people out of there all the time.
Starting point is 00:08:20 I love that for them. It must be very easy to FOIA. And then like this bricks and minifix stuff, these like legal stories and stuff that come up, I start going down that rabbit hole and I'm not done until like three or four. So I will say that it started, I started going to bed earlier when the tiny huge. human being that I gave birth to does not sleep in ever. So that's part of it. If it was up to me, I would stay up much later, but I know he's going to wake up as soon as he can. And he sleeps in late. My friends have toddlers who wake up at 536. My son will sleep till 7.30, sometimes eight,
Starting point is 00:08:49 which is a blessing. But yeah, no, I have to get my sleep. As someone with no tiny human being in a whiskey room and then also an action figure room, that's basically my life. And so, like, I could also go down the rabbit hole of eBay at like midnight. You should never know what's going to happen. You never know. What an exciting life. Well, you know what you should do? You should write it down in your diary like Dr. Anthony.
Starting point is 00:09:10 What a segue. That's what you have to do, okay? Seamless. So I told you this when you walked in and I talked to it because again, we were friends. We talked on the phone, Patrick Dan and I this morning. I cannot get enough of this Anthony Fauci diary reveal. Now, if you haven't seen it and you're listening or watching this, it is worth going down the rabbit hole. It really is.
Starting point is 00:09:31 I know you saw it this morning for the first time. Yeah. And I tried to fill you in. It is, it is absurd. Now, there's two, I want to make this very clear. There are some very serious things that we're going to talk about that have been revealed in his diary. And there's also some really embarrassing things. I'm going to start with a really embarrassing thing.
Starting point is 00:09:48 So I'm 37. I'm currently staying in Texas with my parents, because it's where I grew up. I'm in my childhood bedroom. It doesn't look like my childhood bedroom anymore. They've redone it. But my childhood bedroom things are in the closet. Yeah. I can guarantee you if I go in there, I will find a diary from some time in the 90s when I was 10 that would read almost the exact same way that some of this stuff that Dr. Fauci has in his diary.
Starting point is 00:10:11 And I'm not even over exaggerating. The level of attention that this man needed in 2020 talking about how famous he was. And that was the word he used, not, I'm not paraphrasing, was like I would write about having a crush. And that's a massive problem when we're talking about how he was handling a global pandemic. Having a crush on yourself is important in life, though. I think I saw some counselors talk about that at some point. And, you know, it's really good. It's good to have confidence when you're defrauding the country out of billions of dollars and their lives.
Starting point is 00:10:39 I think that's what's really important. He really loved himself. He believed in himself. And he was a complete liar the entire time. Phenomenal. Complete liar. And I know, Dan, you have some of the tweets. You can just, like, rattle some of them off.
Starting point is 00:10:51 They are absurd. I mean, it is, this diary is, like, if you look, it's the investigation on cover that Anthony Fauci. There we go. Yeah, it's right here. He wanted fame so badly. And this is actually one of the examples that I used to you when I was telling you, that he has this whole entry about fan girling over Barbara Streisand and talking to her about Alexa and how he could play her songs on Alexa while also talking about how he was the number one story on all of the news outlets.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Let's say six feet apart, though. Of course. Of course. Like he said, yeah, you know, he accidentally called Barrow. Barbara Streisand back and was happened to be playing her songs on Amazon's Alexa. And it's just. That's intentional. The guy's like a stalker.
Starting point is 00:11:35 It's a fame stocker. It's the, uh, the curb your enthusiasm, the accidental text on purpose. Oh yeah. That's exactly what he was doing. Um, and she called me at 605. Like, I mean, that's like who would. I'm telling you, an adult male. The details that were written down, which then you get into the serious allegations.
Starting point is 00:11:52 So Rand Paul subpoenaed this, which I did not know you had to turn over all handwritten diaries, journals, whatever. That's something that I'm wondering. Usually it says journals, actually, in the general document when you subpoena everything and records. But like I wouldn't have to
Starting point is 00:12:08 necessarily turn it over if they don't know unless that, but that looked typed. So if that was typed, was it handwritten the original copy? I actually don't know that. Do you guys know that? Because if it was typed on government computer, then, I mean, that's automatic. I wanted to picture him with like a hello kitty
Starting point is 00:12:23 pink diary that was hand writing and it was really small. With a gel pen. That's what I was picturing. Yes. I don't doubt that. That's exactly what I, it had a little lock on it, you know, a little key just so no one would get into it. But the more that comes out, because I can sit here and I'm going to laugh at him about how he thought he was the most famous person on the planet, but the more that comes out, the level of lying that he had and the level of deception that not only was he going on to news networks and on media outlets that he was lying to government officials. And he was then documenting those lies. So the fatality rate, Sandy Moore Coffee. In his diary, he writes, it's 0.3%, 0.2.3%. A month later,
Starting point is 00:13:10 he's on Hannity's show saying it could be up to 2.5%. But then in the diary, he was saying that he knew the difference. And now we're reading that six years after COVID. And it's absurd to me. Well, thank God he's pardoned. I mean, that's, you know, that's... Now that he can say that. Maybe that's why he had no problems turning that document over, actually. The diary over is that he knows that nothing will happen to him now, and he's going to laugh all the way. He's laughed all the way to the bank already.
Starting point is 00:13:33 He's fine. He's in the clear, thanks to Biden or whoever signed those pardoned documents. Biden. Well, you know, he had the autopam machine. That's fair. I don't know that... Do we know that Biden actually knows he pardoned everybody? No.
Starting point is 00:13:45 That's a good point. Other than his family. I guarantee he knows he pardon his family. But, again, like, he's free and clear now. And so, like, he doesn't care. that it's out there. It's just insane to me the lies. And then not only did he lie, but then all of the social media companies
Starting point is 00:13:58 backed it up so that if you debated any of those data points that he put out there, you were banned. Which to me is just such a bigger issue with social media, not to go down that rabbit hole. But I did see this morning somebody put together like a two and a half minute montage of all of the different introductions
Starting point is 00:14:14 on every news outlet and everybody who could possibly introduce Anthony Fauci in 2020. And the praise was, you know, America's doctor. the smartest scientist we've ever had, the hero, the superhero. And he was getting off on this to the point where he had to write it down like a teenage girl into the diary. And now, I can't pretend to understand pardons. I was asking the guys doing research this morning.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Now there is nothing that can happen unless he lies about it again, which I don't know. Maybe he's sociopathic enough to do it. He probably is. And I think that's really the point at the end of the day. And you've got to be somewhere mentally, too, when you realize you're making more money than the president, which he was at the time, that he had been around and also screwed. I don't know where your mind is after he screwed up everything with the AIDS epidemic back in the 80s, too. And hundreds of thousands of people died because of him and his bad decisions. So, like, again, like, along the long, I guess you kind of turn off your emotions somewhere in the middle of that and just make it all about yourself and just say, hey, I'm famous.
Starting point is 00:15:12 I just can't imagine calling up a celebrity or like somebody. And like a musician. I know a couple of like, I know athletes and stuff and pro wrestlers and whatever. And like, they're fun, but I couldn't imagine calling them up and being like, I can, I watched you on YouTube today. It was amazing. I can just put you up on YouTube. Isn't that great? It's embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Yes. There is a level of embarrassment that, because we're all fans of things, right? No matter how famous you are or how not famous you are, you're going to be a fan of something. To then take it to the degree where not only you're telling that person that you're writing it down as a grown man. And I'm not, I'm not a journal person. I was when I was younger. I have a gratitude journal, which you do, you know, you write things you're thankful for, like three in the morning.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Won't be, won't be co-hosting with me today. No, I, it will be. It will be. But I'm not ever writing anything down ever again, ever. But this man was a grown man writing this stuff down because he was happy. He was fit. It fits the character. It just, it's not shocking to me.
Starting point is 00:16:14 He's like the villain, right? He's like the, like, the, like, overzealous villain that gets busted at the very end of the movie or whatever, hiding in a closet somewhere. Do you guys think he cares that this is out there? No. Do you guys? Not at all. I'm Casey Smith and for Will Kane. More with Tim Young up next. Visit

Starting point is 00:17:46 I want to believe. We're all talking about it. He's glad he's back in the news. Yeah. That's, yeah. Which I did, I did think about when, you know, if you are that level of, I'm going to use the word evil because I, with what happened in the pandemic. And, you know, one of the things that he lied about that's now also going viral is the emails and the media clips versus what his diary. He said he had nothing to do with New York and California schools and bars shutting down. In his diary, he specifically references when he talked to Bill de Blasio and talked to Gavin Newsom and told them they should go ahead and shut all those places down.
Starting point is 00:18:21 So again, a direct contradiction. This is evil because this was all for his own gain. But I just, I want to believe that somewhere deep down, he's like, damn it, I shouldn't have let that leak. No. I'm telling you, if you have watched the absolute power of his manipulation and his lies and what they've done to society, you don't give a shit about anything. Like, you just don't, you're just letting anything go. By the way, do you take pictures with famous people? I don't do that.
Starting point is 00:18:46 I stopped doing that years ago. I stopped doing it years ago. There will be some every once in a while if it's a child. Like if I met Michael Jordan, I would just bring my, I would just say, you know what, like growing up Michael Jordan was such a big deal to me. But no, if they're famous and my adult life, then no, I do not. I also, when you work in an industry, whether, I mean, I work in sports, but when you, you kind of stop caring that people in that direct industry are famous. But with him, he's a scientist. He was going, everyone was super famous, right? And I'm not saying that I don't think anybody's famous, because I absolutely do. But you kind of learn the etiquette of that. Yeah. He was never going to learn that etiquette as a scientist. No, and it also makes perfect sense. Remember when the entire stadium was shut down at the Nats Nationals game and he threw
Starting point is 00:19:30 out the first pitch to an empty stadium? Yes. Like, this all makes perfect sense now. The in style, the in style cover, which I kind of forgot that he did. I guess it was in July of 2020 and he's posing as a model would next to his pool. And I've been seeing that go viral because, of course, on X, once you read one thing and you're interested in. I'm sending it to Dan. And it's that, look at this. Like, this guy?
Starting point is 00:19:53 Obviously, this guy wanted to be famous. He loves that. That's a shitty poll, too. The good doctor. That is the, so if you're listening on Spotify or Apple, just go look it up. I don't remember this, by the way. And I, you know, living in New York during COVID, and I stayed in New York for a lot of COVID, you know, it was, yeah, well, Anthony Fauci style. It was, you know, at that time, Cuomo was the same way. It was we were all told that these are the people that are doing it right and the rest of the country is doing it wrong and you know yeah you're going to be locked in your apartments and your condos in your houses but
Starting point is 00:20:25 everywhere else is going to be you know dying essentially yeah and you believe that and there was a clip in his diary journal must have been digital because he has a collage of all of these people who are taking selfies with the fouchy shirts oh and there was quomo sexual shirts that a lot of he got to think he had the toys of himself too didn't he you got to think i mean this guy's a scientists and he grew up being a, like, he did this his whole life and adult life. And he doesn't think he's going to be in a spotlight at any point in his life. And then he is. He's thrust into it.
Starting point is 00:20:55 So he's like, oh, I'm going to latch onto this. You know what I mean? No, but he had, he had AIDS, Dan. No. So, like, he didn't actually physically have AIDS. I know, but there wasn't social media like there was now. Yeah. Where he's a celebrity for taking care of that.
Starting point is 00:21:11 But he was probably a celebrity at conferences and stuff. I'm sure he'd show up to conferences and like. Right. But now he's everywhere. I agree with Dan, because here's the difference. I mean, even with celebrities, with movie stars, singers, actors, whatever it may be athletes, before social media, your fame was still not the level that it was. You know, I know I like to bring this up on the show a lot because Will and I like to argue about it.
Starting point is 00:21:35 But I went to Texas A&M. I was there when Johnny Mansell was there. Johnny Mansell was already a superstar. But then at that time, he was thrust into international superstardom because he was hanging. out with Drake. He was doing all these, which we would have never known 10 years before. So if you are, for lack of better terms, a science nerd, and I'm not throwing shade in any science nerds, that is that is exactly what Anthony Fauci was. Then you get the fame that social media portrays you to be a superhero. They portray you to be a literal American hero. And then ego starts. He's going to probably
Starting point is 00:22:10 get off to that. Do you think he's getting some like Subaru driving groupies? Do you think the, I think he's had the groupies. I mean, when you look at the photos that come out, I mean, the selfies, because I remember, I didn't buy the shirt. I'll tell you, I didn't buy a Fauci shirt or a Cuomo sexual shirt, but I remember people. Was it on the table? Did you consider? No, I, well, people in my, in my inner circle in New York were like, oh. But I think that at that time, especially because we were all locked in our house. I mean, the, you talk about appointment watching, the last dance, that felt like we were watching the Super Bowl. You know, that was like we all had to tune in same time because we wanted to feel as if we were a part of something. And so I think with Anthony
Starting point is 00:22:50 Fauci, he became that kind of pop culture, for lack of better terms, hero or icon, whatever, because he was all we were hearing about. And he was supposed to be the one that was saving us from ourselves. So I do think he had groupies. I feel like he filled the void that RBG left for like the left in particular. And I, and I, by the way, what I was looking up on my phone was how tall was Fauci? They say he's 5'7. Oh, that means he's 5'4. Yeah. Right. Because he gives off little man energy. Well, and the more this comes out, and I mean, I guess people that are taller could have a diary, but there is something very perfect about him having a diary. Have you guys seen his office?
Starting point is 00:23:29 Go ahead. Have you guys seen his office? I think he's got photos of himself and toys of himself all over it, right? Yeah. He literally has a giant picture of himself. He has little pictures of himself everywhere else, like little bobbleheads of him. That's not a narcissist or anything. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Jesus. It's kind of weird. it's it's not only and that's where you it's blending the two things it's not only narcissistic and then you add just being an absolute sociopath then to what he there it is what he was being a sociopath about yeah i sent you guys he's he's talking about in his diary about the cakes and the donuts that he's seeing there's the selfie collage you remember obviously the bagged drinks in covid where you could go pick them up from bars and restaurants i didn't want to close and it's i can't read it this far but it's got his face on and it's probably some you know aptly named cocktail. And this guy loved it. And here's the thing. I don't necessarily blame somebody for wanting that attention. I have had times in my life where I love the idea of that attention. I wasn't controlling the narrative of a global pandemic in the United States of America and just flat out lying to people, lying to people in charge and then saying, oh, by the way, I'm taking the spotlight away from President Trump and he hates that. What are we doing? Honestly, like,
Starting point is 00:24:42 and I've been in politics for so long now, I think like 24 years, 25 years or something. If I was able to manipulate the entire country like that, I think you would turn into a super villain. Like very quick, I would buy one of those almost like Dr. Evil chairs and like just and be ready to go and just have my. I actually, I kind of get it. Like there's a decent villain origin story here where like you realize you're getting the president of the United States to do everything you tell them to do. How do you not turn into a bad person? I would a million times do that. A million times.
Starting point is 00:25:11 That's where the human, the human brain, because I think I could. admit that I could do it too, but then I, I guess it's the level of, because you know, there are some people, and it's not just with lying. It's also with being crazy. You know, there, I'm sure you've dated some crazy girls that don't know they are crazy. Oh, they never know that. That is the level of just oblivious that I want to live in. So it's like, had he acted that way and not known that he was lying to the level that he wasn't used, that sociopathic, I can believe that a little bit more or buy into it. But then to read these diary entries, where he knew he was lying.
Starting point is 00:25:48 That's where it's like, no, you're just a really, really awful human being. I can't help but think that maybe he thought, like, because he was at the top of the mountain by himself, that someday people would take these diaries and publish them, and they would be like a classic book. He probably thought he was writing some sort of amazing thing. Yes. Like, that's got to be part of the... But he was lying the whole time. Did he not know he was lying?
Starting point is 00:26:08 Oh, he knew. So that's where that's the, that's the, you know, you don't know, like, you don't know you're crazy, but you're acting crazy. so it's fine because you don't know. If you woke up one morning and said everybody in the country, you know, shave your head or like, you know, like in his case, wear a mask. And you walk down on the street and everybody's wearing a mask. Like you've manipulated hundreds of millions of people and changed. Like that is, you have to be the most, you have to basically have the altruism of like Jesus
Starting point is 00:26:35 to not turn into a villain at that point. Patrick, you said you would have done it? Oh, yeah. Well, already thinks that I am a super villain or just a regular villain. So not super yet. So if I had the power, I would definitely do it. Don't ever let me get wealth because I'm building in all kinds of fortifications, all kinds of things. Dan, what about you?
Starting point is 00:26:58 Because here's the thing, I will admit this, that there is an element that's attractive to know that you have that much power. I find power in general pretty attractive. I think where I would draw the line is knowing that lives are quite literally being ruined because of my lives. I would take myself completely out. You wouldn't say anything? Maybe a little bit, but not as much.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Because my thing is here, if he, and now we're just, I'm just playing hypotheticals, if he really believed that we all needed to wear masks, if he really believed that people were going to die at a mass rate from this and that schools need to be shut down and bars need to be shut down, then would I, in retrospect, disagree with that? Potentially. I'm not a scientist. But he knew that that wasn't true.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yeah. That's where I have a massive issue with it. The thing is they had to do something, right? And I'm not agreeing with it or anything. I'm just saying something was happening and people were dying from it and they had to just say things. Like the six feet rule. It didn't mean anything. But they were like, well, we have to tell people to do something.
Starting point is 00:28:13 Came from like an 11-year-old. Yeah. Like we can't just sit here and look like we're doing nothing because then people would be like, well, what are you doing about this? Nothing. But here's wear a mask and be six feet apart. I agree. We did. We had to do something especially.
Starting point is 00:28:27 I mean, it's not right. But I think with him specifically and what we're seeing as more of this comes out and the whole reason he was subpoenaed in the first place is that he himself, the individual was making a lot of this up. Yeah. And that it's not just, hey, we're, you know, we're panicking and everybody's sitting in a room. how can we fix this? What can we do? It's that Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was supposed to be the expert on this and the voice of this, was making it up on his own and then going to people and saying, well, I'm the expert. And testimony. What would I ask him? What would you guys ask? If you were interviewing him in testimony. So here's the thing. I think he's been, I think he's been asked
Starting point is 00:29:04 everything already. And I think Rand Paul's been the guy who's done it. That's got to be the most infuriating part is that Rand Paul's been the one who was out front, who got him to lie on the record, who literally exposed all of these lies that came out in this diary. You know, there's nothing more that I could ask him that hasn't been beaten out of him by Rand Paul. And then, of course, I think my only question to him would be, do you feel guilty for being pardoned? That would be the big one. Yeah. And, you know, a lot of times they say don't ask yes or no questions.
Starting point is 00:29:35 I feel like in this instance, you have to ask yes or no questions. Because did you know you were lying to yes or no? You have to say that one way or the other. do you feel bad? Do you feel guilty? Well, I felt at the time that, you know, blah, blah, that's how it would be. And that's where you hit on no, it's a yes or no. And I know a lot of people will evade that and they get around it. But to me, it's just mind-blowing that this man was in charge of all of this and knew he was lying to us about it. By the way, I can't name a single Barbara Streisand song the entire time here. I've been trying to think of like what Barbara Streisand songs are there. Do you know any?
Starting point is 00:30:08 No, but I remember the movie what's called What's Up Doc? Do you remember that movie? that's an old school movie that my grandma and my dad used to show me. Did she have a hit song from that? I'm sure she did but I don't remember it. See? She came out jazz handy. I don't know any of hers either. Dan, the way we were. If you go to
Starting point is 00:30:25 I'm going to go to Spotify. The Spotify. That's it. I know I'm not going to play it. I'm not. I'm not. She did write the love theme to a star is born that she was in. Evergreen. Oh. Oh, the one that keeps coming up, the one that like Lady Gaga just did
Starting point is 00:30:41 with what's his face. Yeah, funny girl. So if you go to Spotify, her top hit with 245 million streams, almost 246, is woman in love. Couldn't, couldn't hum it to save my life right now. No. Different generation. I know. Well, as soon as it's over.
Starting point is 00:30:59 And you know who, I bet Dr. Fauci has the lyrics written in the diary. He probably does. He probably knows exactly what he told her. He was like, that really inspired me to. I think that there's another one that went viral today. because everything's going viral. He talks about a Zoom call that Kim Kardashian put together
Starting point is 00:31:16 and he lists every celebrity that was on it with numbers next year. It was like a numerical list. And that to me is where, again, you separate it. It all comes together. It's separating that he was
Starting point is 00:31:30 a fame word I can't use on here, fame W, and also an evil, evil person. I've already sworn on here. I think you could say that word. No. You're a nice, I try to sneak. I try to sneak.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Yeah. Yeah. Don't. They don't want to save you. Do you notice that? Yeah. They're just, they just want me. This is why I don't have a network.
Starting point is 00:31:49 It's already happened. The podcast, but not the network. You open that door. No, I have made lists of people I've been on Zoom calls before with Senate leadership and then sent it to the Senate leadership and said, why are these W words on this call? Why are these unrealistic morons on this call? Just because a woman wears a bikini on Instagram doesn't make her a political expert. Well, I feel like you and Fauci should share diaries together then. We probably do.
Starting point is 00:32:15 We could probably share a few stories, I think. But I can't remember half of the people that I've. Can we decide if it's okay for men to write journals or not? I mean, like, I feel like Ernest Hemingway did. It's not okay. It's not okay. It's not okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:29 I don't think in 2026. It's okay. I hate to do this because I, you know, I'm one of those people. I have coworkers who very publicly talk about male co-workers who talk about wearing spanks. I'm all for it. What? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:42 They're like, whatever. I'm going to wear spanks. And we make fun of it. Of all people here, I should be wearing spanks. And I'm just like, you know what? To me, it's a go for it. Because we can wear whatever we want. We can put on makeup.
Starting point is 00:32:52 We can do the whole thing to look better. Why can't you? I'm not an independent woman. And so it's more difficult for me. Men can't write journals. Men cannot. No, I said it depends. Not right.
Starting point is 00:33:02 They can if they want. Right. I think it depends on what you do. I think it depends on what you do for a living. How a therapy journal do you need? I don't know. First of all, as somebody who I have a lot of... Right.
Starting point is 00:33:12 If you're a man, you write a memoir. Does that count? So that's what you do. It's a memoir. And so that you keep track of what happened. So like Napoleon. I'm Casey Smith. And for Will Kane, more with Tim Young up next.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Across Canada in a Volvo. Destination, Vancouver, turn left to leave. Travel west through. Approaching. Continue toward you've arrived. Adventure and comfort with Volvo. Whether you prefer gas, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric, there's a Volvo for everyone.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Learn more at VolvoCars.cai. Yeah. But also he was in a position where I feel like it's normal to be writing things down. Dan, writing songs. I think writing songs is a great way to use a journal slash diary. Because then it's art. It's worse. that's hey books
Starting point is 00:34:11 but that's not the but Fauci you made a great point that Fauci may have thought this was going to be one of those published things because even like you look back at when and I can't I feel bad that I don't remember the name of the ship but the ship that Cuomo brought to New York
Starting point is 00:34:27 and the photo shoot that they did outside of it with the American flag and the ship that was going to save all of the sick people that photo was solely taken to be in history books It wasn't a Coast Guard ship, nobody used it. Right, nobody used it.
Starting point is 00:34:41 It had all these extra hospital beds because remember that was the whole thing. We're running out of hospital beds in New York. So he brings this ship into the harbor and then it's his whole thing. And when you look at the photos, even then, it was like this is being taken because he thinks he's going to be the, you know, the chapter photo of a history book. But I still, here's the thing. I hate to tell men what to do. I actually love to tell men what to do. But just don't write a diary.
Starting point is 00:35:03 That's why you're single. Am I, though? I don't care. But if you're dating a guy, though, and say like you're at his house, and you find a diary, like, and it's in a problem. Yeah, you're right. Like next to the bed or something. Yeah. You're like, number one, you read it.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Number two, you're like, come on now. It would be so hard to not just, you know, open up and just be like, all right, so on March the 8th, like, what was he doing? I dated a woman long distance once, and she had a diary. And in it, in the most recent pages, because, of course, I opened it up, she was debating dating me, continuing to date me. So I just ended it. I never, but. Did you tell her you read it? No.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Does she, well, does she know now? She's happily married with like three kids. Oh, okay, okay. I never understood the purpose of diaries. I'm like the one before they. Like, do you go back and read it? Well, is it for?
Starting point is 00:35:50 Is it just to get your, does anybody go back and read it? Like, why do you do it? So that's actually part of the, the, I've, I've had this conversation over the years with, like, different people or in therapy when they're like, well, you should just write down your thoughts. Like, why? I don't want to go back and read what I was thinking in this state of mind, whether it
Starting point is 00:36:07 was a very happy state of mind, sad state of mind. I don't want to go back and read it. And I've tried, probably not in a long time, but definitely pre-COVID. I've tried to be, okay, I'm going to give this journaling a chance because the thought process is you're getting all of your thoughts out on paper, so you're, I don't know, exercising the demons. I don't know what it may be.
Starting point is 00:36:26 And I'm just like, absolutely not. Why do I want this documented anywhere? Yeah. No, I actually, I was thinking about it. I have a joke book that I write down jokes when I think of something funny because I'll forget it. but like and then usually it'll be like late at night like 2 a.m. I'll write something down and then wake up in the morning and like look at it again because I'm like, oh man, that was gold.
Starting point is 00:36:41 And it's usually something incredibly dark that I could never say publicly. So I actually dated a guy that did the same thing that it was like a little leather bound notebook that he could carry around in his back pocket like a wallet. So it was that small. And he would do the same thing. He would like if he thought of something at a bar or whatever and it was just for a joke or for whatever, he would write it down. And I never thought of that as the same way as sitting down at night.
Starting point is 00:37:05 or over coffee in the morning like Dr. Fauci seemed to have been doing, putting the date and then decaling your day. The exact time as well. I'm shocked that Fauci didn't have like what he ate for breakfast before he talked to President Trump. You know, that's the difference. So it's like writing songs, writing down jokes, a memoir, those things are acceptable. But where I draw the line is you have a diary.
Starting point is 00:37:28 And what a, like, what a great thing for a prosecutor. If that actually went to court. What an amazing piece of evidence that would have been in court. Right. Like to read exact things and then read embarrassing things and then go through. See, I don't want it to ever write anything down, ever. So another story that took over. And I know, so Patrick did tell me that you had some interest in Sophie Cunningham's shoe selling out.
Starting point is 00:37:53 I'm more interested in talking about how terrible the WMBA is. Oh, so you and I are going to fight over this. A simple meme has turned into a sold-out shoe. Yes. No, I. Well, yes. Sometimes, yeah. So you want to talk about the thing it's crazy that her shoe sold out?
Starting point is 00:38:09 No. Oh, I see I... No, I think it makes perfect sense. It makes perfect sense. Yes. But also, like, is she even good at basketball? She is, but she, here's the thing with the WMBA. You said, but, no.
Starting point is 00:38:20 No, no, she is. She is. This, okay, this is where I'm going to get, going to be girl power a little bit. I grew up playing basketball, okay? Okay. I have never watched the WMBA before Caitlin Clark started playing. Like, that is, but now I am locked in. I don't, I'm not going to sit here and tell you I watch every single game.
Starting point is 00:38:37 I watch it to see if Kaelin Clark gets beat up. No, but I get really mad when she does. But I would have never known who Sophie Cunningham was, obviously, if I wasn't watching those games. But then when I watch her, I'm like, oh, she's, like, what I loved about her was that she was willing to fight for Caitlin. Like, she was her bodyguard and she's also good at basketball. She's also, in my opinion, very good looking. That's what is. She has everything going for.
Starting point is 00:39:00 She's very funny, the viral pointing meme, all of these things. And then she comes out last week and talks about her beliefs, which I do think is very rare, especially being as young as she is. And quite honestly, being brave to share something she knows is going to get picked apart a million times. And then standing by it, that's refreshing, especially from a young woman. Yeah, no, no, no. That's actually, it's brilliant. And if I were any female athlete right now, and again, she got the, she got the bump because of the main with the pointing thing. But if you lean conservative, you're going to be the top athlete in the entire league right now.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Just period. You're going to get beat up on the court, but you will be the top athlete. And she is unapologetically leaning towards that. And she used the word common sense when she talked about should, you know, transgender be able to play in different sports and use different bathrooms. And we could go down that rabbit hole as well. But the thing that she said was she was like, I'm using common sense. That's what I believe. And I said what I said. And whether you agree or disagree with her opinion of that and from an outward standpoint, the fact that she's just standing on business. And I think people love to see that. And where, you know, so Caitlin Clark over the weekend, the, I'm sure you watched the WMBA All-Star game, right?
Starting point is 00:40:09 No, I'm not. Unfortunately, you're tuned in. I was busy staring at a wall. Oh, you went. You were one of the 20,000 people that were there. They had 20,000 people to game? Did they paper those tickets or did people buy? They did not hear. Okay, this is, this is where I'm also going to stand up for C.C. Again, okay? I went to multiple Indiana fever games for first year in New York at Barclay Center. And because- Don't just like Caitlin Carter. No, no. The reason I'm saying this is, because I was, I knew that the level of fame she had going into the league was what it was just from the social media standpoint, but going and seeing Barclays completely sold out.
Starting point is 00:40:41 And I've been to Brooklyn Nets games. It's not always that way. And seeing all the jerseys and all of that, that was her first year. So this WMBA All-Star weekend, there were people lining up for hours just to be able to catch a glimpse of her potentially walking in. This is where I get irritated when people try to say she's not the face of the league. You might not like her. You might not agree with why people don't like her. Will and I have gone back and forth on TV about this.
Starting point is 00:41:06 I don't care about any of that. Basic economics are that the WMBA is much more popular post-Katelyn-Clark entering the WMBA, and all you have to do is look at ticket sales. They were moving to bigger arenas. The WMBA All-Star game is sold out at capacity. I don't understand why people can't admit that. And it infuriates me, too, honest. Didn't they even keep her off of the legacy poster of the WMBA?
Starting point is 00:41:30 Well, yeah, and then apparently there was the rumor that was never, I don't, I don't know, you guys could tell me. I don't think it was ever confirmed, but that apparently it was a likeness issue, which people then tried to say, oh, well, she didn't want to be on, or she couldn't be on it because of a likeness issue. I kind of, I also have an issue with that. I feel like nobody confirmed that, right? No. I don't believe. Because I feel like that became a narrative. But she, she was, you know, rated by her peers or whoever it was, 11th best.
Starting point is 00:41:55 It's just, everything is crazy to me. But then you just look at simple facts and evidence. And I don't believe anybody was lining up for hours to get into a WMBA All-Star game before Caitlin Clark. There was definitely fans. I'm not trying to say there were never fans. There were fans. It's a different level of fandom now. I think that places like Brooklyn sell out because of like in the wokeys that feel like they need to go support women's sports.
Starting point is 00:42:19 And so they'll buy the tickets even if Caitlin Clark isn't there. I think with the noise about the WMBA, yeah, you take a look at like. So if you had like, let's say there was like a team in like Des Moines, Iowa, right? You're not going to sell it, Des Moines, Iowa. But she was. Yeah, no, but it's Caitlin Clark. She's a phenom, and she's, like, the one person who actually brought eyes to the leak. She is the person who is making the money there.
Starting point is 00:42:39 My whole thing with Sophie Cunningham is her creating a meme has made her more popular than it. She's like now number two. Right. Like, there is nobody else. And literally, just from her making a meme and being a pretty girl. And also, she's awesome that she leans into things. I think she became a ring card girl at UFC. It was like seven minutes beforehand.
Starting point is 00:42:55 I think she had a call, and they asked her to do it. Dana White asked her to do it. But, like, I think somebody had mocked her for going there, somebody else from the league and was like, what are you going to be a ring card girl? She goes, yeah. Yeah, I am. And that's kind of like, she's cool and she's smart for doing that. I don't even think it's strategic.
Starting point is 00:43:10 I think she's just being herself. And that's what is coming out. And I'm, like, I'm glad that her shoes sold out. You know, if you had, like, Angel Reese shoes, they wouldn't sell out. Well, and also her personality, and I, now people are trying to dig up, like, old photos of what she looked like. And I'm like, who cares? What, have you seen the way? Look at the Kardashians, by the way.
Starting point is 00:43:29 You know, it's like that, and I'm not saying that Sophie Cunningham did anything. People grow up. But it's like they're trying to bring her down every which way and she's never cared. That is the one thing that the biggest difference between Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark right now to me is that Caitlin Clark does her very best to try to stick to basketball. She tries to steer every conversation back to basketball. And she had an interview over the weekend, which was one of the most human moments I've seen from her, I think ever, but in a long time for sure where she said, hey, I know you guys have a job to do. You don't know me. You don't talk to me.
Starting point is 00:43:57 you have no idea how I feel about things. Basically keep my name out of your mouth unless it's about basketball. Where Sophie Cunningham is like, I am who I am. I'm not going to change. Kael and Clark's like, you don't know me. Sophie's like, I am me. That's a big polarizing difference, but both are fine as long as you're being authentic to yourself. And that's what both of them are doing.
Starting point is 00:44:15 And by the way, those are like the two names other than Angel Reese that I can name in the WMBA. And I think that's everybody across the board. Well, you mentioned, you mentioned Brooklyn like that. Yeah, Asia Wilson, Sabrina Ionoskew. You're like, I know, but I do. Yeah, you're right. I do. I do. But when you start getting down the rabbit hole, a lot of people
Starting point is 00:44:34 will say, well, look at all these different names. And I also grew up watching Basil. Cheryl Swoops was somebody that I did. Oh, yeah, I do remember Cheryl Swoops. She was the one. Yes. Back in the day, she was the one. And we didn't have social media to be able to lean into this. But everything that Sophie Cunningham is doing off the court, she
Starting point is 00:44:50 believes in. Yeah. I love that. Everything that Caitlin Clark is doing off the court is basically staying quiet, but being thrown into these narratives and I can't imagine how frustrating that must be. The Morgan Wallen thing the Morgan Wallen thing kind of did a little bit for... You saw that?
Starting point is 00:45:06 No. She walked out with Morgan Wallen, which by the way, if you look at the list of people who have walked out with Morgan Wallen, it's a long list of all different types of people. Ray Lewis in Baltimore, I saw. All sides of politics. He's one of the most famous musicians
Starting point is 00:45:22 on the planet. But that kind of thrust her interest. So I guess technically, if you If you want to say she made that decision. Yeah. Right. But, and I know we have the clip, did you see President Obama talking to her this weekend? Yes. So we can roll the clip for people that haven't seen it, then we'll talk about it.
Starting point is 00:45:38 Oh, hey. Kemp, how are you? Really nice to meet you. You're great. You're fantastic. Don't let all this nonsense get you down. It's crazy. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:45:49 You know, I always say one of the things that was luckiest for me was, I didn't get famous until I was like 45. So I was an old-ass man. I mean, you're my daughter's age. They're not to have that much of, you know, person and nonsense. So don't lose that joy. The game's like the game.
Starting point is 00:46:13 I loved it. I missed the times when socialists were likable. Here we go. Now we'll go down that. No, look, he understands it. I think everybody understands it. I don't understand. Is it professional jealousy why these women are like,
Starting point is 00:46:25 well, women are jealous? do they, is that what's happening why they're pushing her around? I think that, and to go, right, it's a debate, you know, they're like Will and I got into it. And I say, get onto it. We didn't actually get into him. I was way angry with him about how he was mad at me for saying, what a burger. But he, you know, he, there's a lot of different reasons why I think people don't like her that play into it.
Starting point is 00:46:47 I think that the main thing is jealousy. You can talk about her race. I know some people talk about her sexuality. You can talk about any of those things. but I think at the end of the day, and I will say this over and over, I don't care what race she is. What plays into this for me is that she brought a level of attention that a lot of these people have never even seen, and it became, well, why does she get this and we don't? That's the number one. Now, if you want to make an argument for everything else, I totally understand that and believe that, but I do think that it's at the top of it, is that she gets all this attention, all this fame, all this money.
Starting point is 00:47:21 You know, the salaries in the WMBA are very small because there's not been. eyes on it. Well, it's up to 300 now. That's not terrible for playing a children's game. I thought it was like $180 a game. No, I thought it's gone up. Didn't they get a deal? Well, they also get to fly on private planes because of all these deals. So it goes in, that to me is the number one. I will hear out arguments on everything else. And I know Patrick and Dan, you guys have had this conversation on this podcast a million times. If you want to say it's because she's white, okay, that's a fine argument. But I think even more so is that people don't like that she has the thing. Let me see this. And I don't, yeah, that's that's the big thing. But like,
Starting point is 00:47:55 For her, she's like the modern day Larry Bird of the WMBA, but there's no Michael Jordan to go with her. Like, so if you got a white person who can hit threes, where's the counterpart? Where's anybody who plays at that same? There's nobody that plays anywhere near her same level. Well, that's the issue is that a lot of people who are very deep into the WMBA will bring out stats and say, actually, you're incorrect. Like, let me show you that this is why her numbers and her stats don't line up and she's, you know, shouldn't have this much fame because she's not the best. She's third and scoring right now. But the thing is, is that that's fine.
Starting point is 00:48:29 That's not what we're talking about when we talk about her being the most famous person in the league. And that's where you're correct. There's not a counterpart to her. I guess you can say Angel Reese because of the villain situation and people want to put them against each other. I don't necessarily want to buy into that either because, again, as a woman, I'm like, I don't know. They've had some beef. They seem to actually kind of like each other. I'm sure they do.
Starting point is 00:48:47 You know, like they probably behind the scenes are like, this is crazy. But when you see somebody like Baraco, you don't think they like. other? I don't think they talk. I don't think that they sit around and have wine together. I don't think they're pre- and post game. I don't think that they are beefing when the cameras aren't there
Starting point is 00:49:05 for no... I doubt they have normal conversations regularly, but I do think that there's probably a level of like, hey, I don't actually hate you that much. I don't think that they're fighting behind the same. They're like not a me and Patrick, but they're like a me and Dan. Yeah, there you go. Oh. That's a good callback.
Starting point is 00:49:22 So they're not... Look at you. Look at you. I actually have a... They're not friends, but... I'm Casey Smith, and for Will Kane. More with Tim Young up next. Starting point is 00:50:02 Well, I think I have like a new theory here. So I think we used to dismiss a lot of the stuff as jealousy of Caitlin Clark. But I think they're just really good at marketing. Because if you think about it, if you push back on Caitlin Clark, you're just making it bigger and bigger. You're blowing it out of proportion to the point where we're still talking about it. Like I think, I think there's like an element of calculation to this. I didn't think that before, but I'm like, now that Sophie Cunningham is now moving up, I think they're starting to get it a little bit. I will say, because usually, you know, Patrick is a conspiracy theory guy, and I will say that I, I, probably two months ago, I don't know, when did Sophie Cunningham, when did that meme go viral?
Starting point is 00:50:44 Pretty recently. Like, I think that there was a mixture. I think some people absolutely knew what they were doing, and I agree with you, because it is clickbait. And Caitlin Clark referenced that in this interview. She said, I know that bloggers have to do their job. I know the reporters have to do their job. We all know clickbait. We have people that we work with in this industry that only go online to have the clickbait.
Starting point is 00:51:06 I also then think there is a group of people that aren't that smart that are actually believing some of the things that they are writing. We saw a crazy, I'm not even going to give it the breath of air. The USA Today article that came out last week about Caitlin Clark that was so deeply rooted in racism. them. You can't actually believe that, but I also don't think you're that dumb for clickbait either. Yeah, I'm going to go, I'm going to lean in with Patrick. I think it would be smart to pro wrestling WNBA and have like the characters, you know, cut little promos and do little things. But I don't think they're doing it. I think they're smart enough to do that. I think there's just a lot of animosity. But reporters in general and journalists in general, you know this, are jealous of the people who actually get to do the things and are very angry about the kind of stuff. I mean, they're like tiny Anthony Fauci's without the Anthony Fauci recognition. But if they got that. It's like that same cycle of person, like that same like, what would you call it, silo of people. It makes sense. I just, I guess the, first of all, I think the WMBA itself is not smart enough to do what you're
Starting point is 00:52:03 saying, Patrick. And I'm not saying specific people. I think as a whole, they have done such a bad job of embracing a superstar. And I don't know why, because you're getting all this attention and all these eyeballs. Again, whether you think she's the best basketball player or not, you're getting all these eyeballs and it's like they're doing everything they can to diminish that. But when I do think that there's probably a level
Starting point is 00:52:26 of social media, media, TV, whatever, maybe you know if you mentioned Caitlin Clark in a headline, in a blog, on TV, you're going to get eyeballs on it. Yeah. But think about that's, that is or the commissioner of the WMBA, right? She
Starting point is 00:52:41 dodged Dan Patrick's show. It made it a big deal. And it's like, can she be this dumb to dodge to dodge to dodge a softball interview? By the way, did you ever see the clip of her doing that? No. They had the B-roll of her just like shanking golf shots
Starting point is 00:52:59 while he was talking about how she incredible entertainment. So you probably know the guys that made that. Yeah, they worked with me on that show and I knew that was their work. It was very, very good. It was so perfect. It was just like this is.
Starting point is 00:53:18 But when I see stuff like that, Patrick, I think she is dumb enough to know that what she was doing was not going to backfire because I don't believe that the commissioner. For sure. Well, like a commissioner of any sport, I guess there's no such thing as bad press. You don't want people to be apathetic. But that's really bad press. Yeah. You should show up and just talk like a politician. I mean, at the very least, just like dodge all the questions.
Starting point is 00:53:42 It's all the answer yes or no. I do to put a bow on it. I loved what Obama said too because it's true. the level of fame that she has. Most people don't even understand. She's 24 years old. I am 37. I cannot imagine now getting the fame that she has,
Starting point is 00:54:00 let alone at that age. And then he said what I think a lot of people, just don't let it take the joy out of this. It's a game, by the way. It is a sport. Children's game. And they're getting paid a lot of money and people are paying a lot of money to go there
Starting point is 00:54:13 and buy their jerseys and everything else. So I don't understand why there are why there is such animosity from players. I think it's a mixture, but at the end of the day, people are talking about her, we're talking about her, by the way. Although, we're feeding right into it. What was it? Was it the Knicks years ago when they
Starting point is 00:54:29 started fighting the fans, when they went into the stands and started playing the fans? Now, that happened at a WMBA game. I'm buying tickets. You just want Sophie Cunningham to fight you. I want to physically fight Sophie Cunningham. You want her to lay her hands on you. I would pay $25 for the pay per view of that.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Do we get that to happen? Watch me get my butt whooped by a WNBA player? And by the way, they could. Oh, she's all muscle. All of them are. You're not winning that. You're not winning that.
Starting point is 00:54:57 You're not winning that. Yeah. No, that would... You dodge a bit. I do think that if we started seeing like more of the WWE wrestling promo cuts that I would buy. I think I would hate it at first. And I'm like, no, this is what they need to do. They need to...
Starting point is 00:55:10 But I do want Sophie's shoes. Now I want Sophie's shoes. Because they're sold out because you have FOMO? Yes. I have no problem admitting that. When I saw that they saw, I mean, look, first of all, now, I don't play basketball anymore. I don't remember the last time I actually played. I've shot a little bit.
Starting point is 00:55:24 But I feel like I could put those on in New York City and look kind of cool. This is fine for you to have, but they're sold out in pink for men. Well, there aren't. I buy my shoes almost exclusively from Ross. Ross dress for less. I get Air Force ones and everything you can think of. they show up at Dress for Less. Yes.
Starting point is 00:55:48 And I'm not sponsored by them, so this is honest. They have a lot of pink men's shoes, and I'm like, this is why they're at Ross, dress for less. I have no problem with it if it fits the outfit. I'm trying to think if I have a pink pair of shoes. I have really great. I guess a pink pair of shoes, by the way, for anybody, is a bold statement. So I guess you really.
Starting point is 00:56:08 But she has other colors, no? Is it just those pink ones? It's just the pink ones. Really? I thought there was two. No. But I thought usually when they put those shoes up, they have like, regular ones and then they have the special release for the named person. As I've tried to buy
Starting point is 00:56:21 Pokemon shoes before, they put them all in one. You are normal, normal. I have like 200 sneakers in my collection. I have like a pretty solid sneaker collection, too. Well, no, I'm okay with the sneaker collection. It's the Pokemon sneakers. That's the level of nerd I did not. It's a strong level. That is. But you have a whiskey room, so then it kind of balances out. I'm a Renaissance man. Okay, so while we're talking about that, you are very interested in the lack of people understanding cursive because you are a Renaissance man. Oh, yeah, and I'm racist. I have not seen this video yet because I wanted to wait to react to it on air,
Starting point is 00:56:53 so please play it. So they weren't ready to. Do we have, I don't know. Zelda? I learned cursive in third grade. Read this word. Hey, the word. You gotta go to another call.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Read this word. This cursive? I can't read cursive. It's a Z or a Q. You tell me. What that say? Yeah, yellow. Read this word.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Your spelling sucks. Read this word. Corrella. Jerella? What? That's a J. J. J.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Jerella. I don't know. Gerella. Read this word. Recarive. Read this word. Uh, Kramer.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Rameh. Rala. Read this word. Yalya. Yelra. It's in like, this is going on so long. In a good word.
Starting point is 00:57:39 I mean. Zal mama. It's said it to the full thing. I'm like, no. I'm not even, I'm not saying we should have cut it off. Like I'm not saying it was too long.
Starting point is 00:57:48 I'm just shocked that it's that long because usually when you see stuff like that, my first intuitive reaction is, oh, well, they had some people who knew it. They're just putting the bad ones together. No, that just kept going. Nobody. Was that 6th Street in Austin? That looked like 6th Street. That's a good place to do on the man on the street interviews, by the way.
Starting point is 00:58:04 Or Broadway or Bourbon. I used to do those all that. I was one of the first conservatives that would go out in public and do those on man on the street interviews and make people look stupid back in the day. Like I'm so OG. It like things. It's so weird. Like memes and stuff.
Starting point is 00:58:15 I've realized how old I am now. But that's where you go. because everybody's drunk all the time and they'll just talk you. They'll walk up to the camera. Oh, yeah, they have no problem with it. It's phenomenal. They have now, but now you have to get releases for everybody. Right back then, you probably didn't have to.
Starting point is 00:58:26 I think, no, when you're in public, you're on the hook. So the issue with this is that people don't know what a cursive Z looks like. They didn't know what a cursive any of those letters look like. But they, I think that they're so dumb that they couldn't get past the Z because then all you would have to do it. Let's say you could see the other letters and you could maybe put it together in your head. Oh, this must be Z. Zebra, but they couldn't even get past the Z. Not going to lie to you. By the end of that, I've gaslit myself into thinking, like, that's how you
Starting point is 00:58:53 spell zebra? But like that's... I almost did that in my head. I was going to start to spell it out loud. I said, I probably should not do this live on air. I misspelled fairy. Earlier today, I misspelled fairy. Like, taking the ferry across the water, I sent it fairy like the... I'm notoriously bad at spelling, though. But that's... But I can read. That is a skill that I have. I'm really concerned. I really do believe that we are in the midpoint of idiocracy as a society. One of my dad's favorite movies. I mean, it should be required viewing for anybody in politics today or anybody in media today. These people just do not know cursive at all.
Starting point is 00:59:26 I think it's very bad. The letters are not that different from the normal to me. Doesn't matter. No, I think, well, so it, the problem is they didn't know the Z. And that, that's just bad. Because again, context clues, then you could put the rest of the letters together. Are people signing their names? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:59:44 So Dan said this the same way on the call. the way the call you were left out of. I hope you have Fomo again. When I write, I understand where my place is here. Yes. Okay. I get it. Just really bother them and they have to answer. Beating feminism into me. Yes. I write in a mixture of cursive and regular. Yeah, I'm half and what is it called? Regular print. Like, when I'm writing, I just don't even notice it. So like, but a Z is one that I do in cursive for whatever reason. I don't know why. When I'm writing Z's a line through the middle. You do. The European Z. Other, like, there's L's that usually come out cursive for me. I'm just thinking of different, but it's like it's so ingrained in us because we
Starting point is 01:00:21 grew up learning cursive. I have no idea when they stopped teaching cursive. I'm going to guess 10 years ago. I'm going to guess pre-COVID they stopped teaching cursive. But these people are old enough for 10 years ago for them to know what it is. Are they? I don't know. How old were they? They look like early 20s. Yeah, early 20s. Yeah. I mean, I remember things. I'm 37. I guess in elementary school, you would have learned. When did you learn cursive? Like when we were five, six? I feel like third or fourth grade? Yeah, third fourth grade. I don't know ages.
Starting point is 01:00:49 I have a three-year-old. That's as far as my age goes. Yeah. I feel like they had to have stopped a long time ago. Dan, can you look? Does AI know? About 2010, it says cursive instruction began fading in the U.S. Yeah, so 2010 was the-fading quickly, apparently.
Starting point is 01:01:09 It was a quick fade. Yeah, was the cutoff point. Is it because everything is type now? Yeah, no one writes anymore. It must be because everything is technical. I actually, I'm still one of those people. When I write my journal about the famous people I meet. 2010 was 16 years ago.
Starting point is 01:01:27 I was still in college. So these kids who are on the streets here, they might be 20, 21. Like, that wasn't, they were four. Yeah. So they never learned it. They would look at our original founding documents and be confused. No, they have no idea. They don't know.
Starting point is 01:01:43 They would be. When they see the Declaration of Independence, they don't know. There's a D&E, and then it's like a downward spiral with the calligraphy. But again, context clues. But I, so I still write everything down. So I have my laptop and my phone here. If I want to remember something, I have to write it down.
Starting point is 01:02:01 So going into the football season, when I start having to do like previews for college football stuff, because that's what I do is very important. I cover college football. I understand you're famous and influence. No, no. I was more saying that I do really important things like cover 18 to 22 year old. guys playing football love it but I have to write it down because I will not remember it if I'm typing it especially if I'm texting it um so I can I see where it's been lost but I also think
Starting point is 01:02:25 your brain remembers it better if you write it down I do so I am terrible at scheduling things and I'm terrible at basically everything that involves planning and like I have an invoice book where I just write down like just numbers on a page and a name and I forget what that's about and then I have my dates for things I just write down dates and just have a I have one sheet of paper But writing it down, it helps you. It makes sense. Yes. That's the only way I can do it. I've never bought into calendars, Google calendars.
Starting point is 01:02:50 My calendar looks insane when you open it. I'm sure yours does too. I can't. I don't look at it. I don't look at it. I still have an old school, like, I guess it's not old school because it's the new version of it. The wall, I used to have wall calendars for far too long. I would still go every Christmas to get the next calendar.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Now I just have it to dry erase, like clear for my refrigerator because it's aesthetically pleasing. I have a whiteboard on the side of my office. Speaking of, and you talk about therapy with people writing things down. I had a therapist one time tell me that the best way to journal if you don't want to remember it is write it down on a whiteboard and then just erase it. So you're getting it out of your system and you're getting your thoughts out, the trauma dump per se. You write down the people you hate and then you just erase it. And then you just, oh, that's amazing. So that shout out her.
Starting point is 01:03:33 I wonder how she's doing. Shout out that therapist from way back then. Wait, how many therapists have you had? Three, my whole life? I had one. We solved the problems. I went home. You didn't solve the problems.
Starting point is 01:03:43 It took three years and I got over it and we were done. Didn't you just say you deleted all dating apps because you don't? I deleted all dating apps because of the women. Yeah, that's right. I was like, hey, look, if I turned to drinking, which I learned in D.C., drinking action figures, and no, I deleted all the dating apps because I'm tired of women. Tired of women have overvalued themselves. So of men.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Tell us more about that. So of men. Get into that. So what comes to mind? Would you like to lay down on the chair over there? Yeah, we could do a whole thing. Oh, I thought we had like a hotel room chair over the first is one in a quarter. No, there's multiple.
Starting point is 01:04:24 I didn't want to call it the name. What do you want to talk about? Dan? No, not particularly. I will say he said, Tim said right before we went on that he deleted all dating apps. So if we wanted to talk about it, I said, oh, I know we've already talked for an hour. And usually this show doesn't go much longer. But I would like to know which dating apps you've deleted.
Starting point is 01:04:47 All of them. So I did Bumble, Hinge, and Coffee Meets Bagle. What's Coffee Meets Bagel? That's the Asian. I mean, it's for everyone, but it's typically. And they were on Shark Tank. It was three Asian women. I love Shark Tank.
Starting point is 01:04:58 It's one of my favorite Shark Tank things ever because as a startup, they were paying themselves $300,000 a year each with no money coming. Right? They had like no profit coming in. So apparently, whatever they fundraise, they were just, yeah, that's right. Set the price high. Yeah, but no, I'm over it. I think women have overvalued themselves for what they are.
Starting point is 01:05:15 And I'm sure you have the opposite perspective. No, men, men absolutely have. I've never been on a dating app like that. I have a lot of friends who have had success on dating apps. I should not be on dating apps. And then also friends who have deleted dating apps. Which one? Bumble.
Starting point is 01:05:33 So Bumble for people out there that have never, by the way, like I. That was it. Struck gold. People that have never been on them or people that have, you know, been married or dating forever don't realize Bumble was the new rage because the women had to reach out first. Is that still? Oh, they've changed that.
Starting point is 01:05:50 They give you prompts that you can respond to the prompt and be the first person. It used to be because one of my... At the time. Yeah. One of my best friends found her now husband, father of her two kids, on Bumble because she was like, I don't want to go on Tinder. I don't want to go where guys can just DM me the whole time. So that was a pull
Starting point is 01:06:06 for women, was they got to open the door first. Yeah, no. Yeah. It's just no good. So what are you going to do now? I'm going to enjoy my whiskey room and travel by myself. And you know, my ex-girlfriend was a Disney adult, and I have an annual pass to Disney, so I'm going to Lindsay Grammet. You know, he and I had a lot in common.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Not a lot of good dates with women and go to Disney by yourself and have a couple doolipa songs in your playlist and your set. I think that's how he lives like. And your birthday is next week. That's why you're doing this. Yeah, I'm going to, I'm doing Universal and I'm doing Disney. Did you guys hear him say that before he forgot his birthday was next week? So he's going to take himself to. I work constantly, and so, like, I don't, I don't know what.
Starting point is 01:06:43 Also, at some point, birthdays kind of stop having the same zing to him, no? He's kidding there. He's getting to the-lawful-at-a-turning? 46. So it's one of those, I'm getting to the point where it matters. When you hit 50 is when it matters. Like, but zero is about 40? What?
Starting point is 01:06:58 Did you care about 40? I was, so that was during COVID. And I, unlike you, I wasn't on law, I didn't stay in one place. I traveled. I did 35 states and 80 cities. And I had a. fundraiser on my 40th birthday for my favorite barbecue place in Clinton, Maryland called Texas ribs and Texas Ribs and Barbecue or Texas Barbecue and Ribs. And we closed all of the,
Starting point is 01:07:20 we closed all the blinds and we had Speakeasy Barbecue and I raised them enough money to stay open for a couple of months. That sounds amazing. Good for you. Yeah. And so that was like, and I love those people. They're just great people there. But, but no, I, 40, that was my 40. 40 seems like one that everyone should celebrate it. Yes. I don't know if that's because I'm getting close to it. So I'm like, oh, I already started planning on the. No. So my. So my. When do you turn 40? Like February. Okay, so we need to remember that.
Starting point is 01:07:47 Yeah. So my birthday is in the fall, and I know I've said this a bunch of times, but I do cover football for a living. So it's usually I'm on the road, so I don't even think about it when I was younger. So my birthday is October 25th, which is right close to Halloween. College, I loved it because we could do the Halloween birthday parties. And I'm like, I don't know. But I did you think 40, 50? Those are big ones.
Starting point is 01:08:06 They are. They are. I just, you know, when you have everything you want in life and things are going well, like they kind of don't matter. With like a whiskey room. Yeah. You need to write it down in your journal. So I literally, the action figure room is all of the figures that I wanted as a kit because they grew up poor. So I bought every toy that I ever wanted.
Starting point is 01:08:22 And it's in that. By the way, I also learned not to call it a toy room. Because when you approach another adult and you go, I have a toy room. Fair. You go, one of it. Yeah. There's an adult connotation than in a really creepy connotation. Like you should be invited to Epstein's Island.
Starting point is 01:08:36 Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah. 50 shades of gray or Epstein's Island. One of the other. That's what it sounds like either way. Yeah, nothing in between. Anything else we want to talk?
Starting point is 01:08:45 I could feel like I could do this forever. I know. I think this is delightful. We should do drinks and continue the defamation of people that I want to continue. But we got to get out of here. We do have to get out of here. So we'll be back next week. I think you're guest hosting tomorrow, right?
Starting point is 01:08:57 I'm in tomorrow. Without me. Well, you know, they gave me a bump for once. It's me with the chief economist from Heritage, E.J. Antony and Todd Rickett's owner of the Cups. So make sure you tune in. Thanks, everybody. Will Kane Country, we'll be back tomorrow. Dan, Patrick, I love you guys. Say it back.
