This is Sarah Jakes Roberts, and you are tuned into the Woman Evolve podcast.
How is your wheat coin?
I am hopefully, by time you listen to this,
doing better than I'm doing today, honey, because I have been tossed to and fro on the highways
and the byways, if you will. You all pray for me and follow me as I follow Christ. I am learning
so much about God, myself, life, leadership, health. Back to school started for me just
weeks ago, you know, and then I'm going back to actual school. You see, there's school, and then there's
the school of life and the school of life doesn't have recess. Has anyone noticed that? That the school of life
is not giving summer break. It's not giving spring break. It's giving one thing after another.
But that's all right. Because I am here when I just keep playing over my head over and over again,
before I spoke in Dallas when I preached my message the same but different, that I survived
and I'm here to testify. Whatever I am facing right now beats the alternative.
because I could have not been here at all.
And I am by no means ready to give up on living.
And so no matter what life throws in me,
I'm not saying it doesn't hurt.
I'm not saying I'm not stretching.
I'm not ashamed and embarrassed
and sometimes utterly confused.
I'm here to sort through it.
And that's a blessing.
I think that's part of the reason
while we have been talking so much about rest lately,
not because we get to rest when everything stops coming at us,
but because we have to learn to actively
rest, to rest even when things are going absolutely insane, because at the end of the day,
things may never stop coming at us. And so what does it look like for us to be rested in our
spirit in the midst of it all? To still be figuring and working out and maybe we're,
I didn't mean working out healthy, but working out physically, but also working out mentally
what God could be doing in our lives, but doing it from a place of rest. And so I'm,
praying that this episode meets you at a place of rest. I'm, listen, if it doesn't, this could be the
pot call in the kettle black, but I am pursuing it. That's my heart posture in this season,
while all heck is breaking loose to be like the disciples in that locked room where Jesus says,
peace be with you. And then peace is with you to really allow myself to experience peace in the midst
of chaos. So that's my charge. I pray.
that you're able to tap into it.
Now, let's get into why we're all here.
The last time that we did a Mind Your Business episode,
y'all had a lot to say.
And apparently, there's a lot more business out here for me to mind.
So we decided we needed to run this back and do it again.
You sent in your questions and your situations.
So let's start minding some of y'all's business, shall we?
Hi, Sarah.
I do enjoy the space that you allow us to share that.
talk, you know, I do love you and admire what you do, and you just walk in your purpose.
It's so admirable. I'll just get right to the nitty-gritty.
Just watching your story over the past couple months, I felt like you and I kind of went
through the same thing where in April, literally the same week as you, I had gone for a procedure
where I thought this was going to be my end-all, be all, like, in a sense where, okay,
everything's going to be good after this, you know, and I had plans. It was just teaching.
and it was my first procedure.
I have never had a procedure before, and I was scared,
and I leaned on God, of course,
and my parents were with me throughout the whole day.
My mom was in the room watching the whole procedure,
which I know it was hard for her.
And my mind was, okay, I'm going to be great for summer.
So if I do this in April, I'm going to be good for summer,
and it's going to be a ball.
It is July, and I'm still in pain.
I'm still dealing with something that I thought would have gone down by now, but it's still there, probably a little bit even worse.
They want to do a second procedure, but I told God, I'm like, literally after that procedure, I told God, I'm like, I'm never doing this again.
And I said that, and like, here we are.
They want to do a second procedure, and I am literally prolonging it because I just don't want to go through that again.
and I don't know if I'm allowed to say this,
but I'm just more so of the natural route of health care,
you know, especially if I know there's an alternative route.
I want to explore my options, but it's getting a lot.
It's getting a lot.
I'm young, I'm single, I have no kids.
I'm off work right now.
I am 33, and I just feel like this is a time where I'm so hungry in my life
where I have so many things that I want to do,
and I really want to do them.
And it's just like I can't.
I can only do the bare minimum.
I'm in the house all the time.
I'm grateful for my friends who try to get me out.
But this is not the summer I have planned, and it's very hard.
And I just need some encouraging words.
I just need something.
I don't know.
I'm a believer in God.
But then it gets hard, you know.
I understand that we're not beings that God created that we should worry.
But it really does get hard.
because sometimes it's hard to see the light.
You know, will I ever get married?
Will I ever have kids?
All these questions come, but I do believe,
but I just need some encouraging words or some advice
of how you're delegating through your process of healing and isolation
because that's where I am as well.
But again, thank you, and I apologize for the long-winded message.
And, again, thank you so much for the space and who you are.
I think the thing cut off on this girl, but man, thank you for trusting me.
I don't even know if I can answer this question without getting emotional, to be honest.
When I think about how quickly and drastically my life shifted and pivoted, I mean, I really did think that when I was going to the emergency room, that like they're going to tell me maybe I have.
a concussion and that I need to just, you know, go home and stay awake for an hour.
I, I, there are moments where I still can't comprehend that like my life drastically shifted
that quickly. And to your point, and it's August, and I'm just now starting to feel like myself,
but then I'm also dealing with like all of the consequences that are out of my control.
right and like dealing with the aftermath of the accident and their responsibilities connected with
it and restructuring and you know communicating with all of these people who I love and value
and care what they think about me and want to be responsible as a leader and yet having moments
where I know I'm disappointing people and frustrating them but also like just
realizing like, hey, it's not your fault that you almost died. It's not your fault that you had this
accident. And so you just got to deal with whatever comes your way. So as it relates to encouragement,
you know, though we may be in different places physically, because it sounds like you still have a
journey, I know what it's like for life to feel foreign and I'm familiar and to wonder what in
the world happens after this. What I can tell you as it relates to my relationship,
with God is when I had moments where I'm like, how could you allow this? Like, what are, what, what do we, have, have we lost the plot? Because the plot was very much so giving. Prosper you, not harm you. And it's not feeling prosperous. I'll be honest. It's not giving prosper. You know, and I know the context of that scripture has to do with Babylonian captivity. But still, when I quoted, I'm not thinking about captivity. I'm only thinking about the prostitution. I'm only thinking about the prostitution. And I'm only thinking about the
cross-ring part. And so I've had to like go back and examine what it means to believe in God instead
of believing from God. And the reason why I've had to examine what it means to believe in God is to
believe in the withness of God, that it means something for me to be in communion with God as I go
throughout my day. And that this isn't the life that God wanted us to experience either, where
we would be exposed to sickness and illness and diseases and brokenness and broken bones and
and you know compressed spines and however you may have experienced life and whether you've been
the victim or the villain this wasn't God's original plan. God's original plan was for us to
dwell in communion with him in a world where there were going to be we were going to have to
have dominion and subdue so we were going to roll up our sleeves and do some work regardless
but we were going to be able to trust his heart towards us in the midst of it all.
And we were going to feel capable of executing that vision that God gave us in the midst of it all.
And then came the serpent and then came the fruit and then came disobedience.
And as a result, we live in a fallen world.
And the only consolation that we have for a fallen world is a faithful God.
And a faithful God in a fallen world gives us the strength we need.
to survive what comes our way and to find peace in the middle of navigating impossible scenarios.
We've got a faithful God in a fallen world, and I hate to break it to you.
Sometimes that's all we get.
There are moments where God rescues us, where a miracle comes through, where a breakthrough happens,
and we love that moment when it takes place.
And then there are other moments where God says, when you go through the fire, I'll be with you.
And you'll have to say, yay, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I'll fear no evil, where I will allow your rod and your staff to comfort me.
And it has caused me to come to a place where I no longer feel entitled to God's miracles and blessings over just being grateful for his presence and comfort and peace.
And I wish I could give you an answer that was, you know, sexier than that.
that was, you know, more victorious than that.
But what I will say is if you being in relationship with God is all that you have right now,
then seek God day to day in those moments where small prayers are answered,
in those moments where love is extended towards you at a time where you needed the most,
where you experience kindness and peace,
in a time where you may have been frazzled,
the Lord in all of your ways, and he'll direct your path. He'll show you what to do step by step.
It may not be the full picture. And boy, would I like a full picture right now. But I'm trusting that
he's ordering these steps. And I pray that you experience that same grace and peace that I am
stretching for in this season as well. I don't know about you, but when I get ready to work out and
I reach for a sports bra, the last thing,
I want is to be in pain because of the bra.
I need support and I need my sports bra working with me, not against me.
We all know that feeling when the straps are digging into your skin and the band is doing
entirely too much.
And then by the end of the day, you're counting down the minutes until you can just take that
thing off.
Well, I think I may have found the cheat code with Honeylove.
Their cross flex activity bra gives me the support I need from a sports bra, but it's
actually comfortable enough to wear all day.
I can wear it through my workday, run errands, take a little hot girl walk, and I'm not halfway
through the day regretting my decisions. And can we talk about the fact that it has a hook and
eye back? Because wrestling yourself out of a sports bra after a long day is a level of
warfare I simply do not have time for. It's wireless, but their honey love uses their cloud fuse
bonding technology to give you support without the poking, digging, or pressure points.
and instead of smashing everything together, it actually gives you shape and separation.
Honey Love is also a female founded brand, so their products are being designed by women who
actually understand what we need. And they have more than bras. You can find shapewear, tanks,
body suits, underwear, and so much more. So if your current bra has been getting on your last nerve,
consider this your sign. Treat yourself to the most advanced bras and shapewear on the market.

Hi, Ms. Sarah Jake Roberts.
This is Jamil from Georgia.
I've been having an issue with, I guess, being able to hear from God clearly, being able to have discernment and knowing when it's God's voice and just not my own inner thoughts.
I've been learning how to be very specific with my prayers and asking God to be able to let me be able to just hear him clearly, have no doubts in my mind.
And of course I know it could take patience, but I guess I sometimes I get in my feelings because I've finally learned how to be specific with my prayers.
And I don't know if I should just still continue to just be patient because I feel like once I know, I'll know.
But then now it's getting to a point where I don't even know if I know if I don't know if I don't.
So I'm just, yeah, I'm just really struggling and I would love to hear your feedback and perspective on it.
Thank you so much.
I love you so much.
I'm always listening to your podcast.
All right.
Oh.
Thank you so much for sending in this question.
I think this is a question that so many of us have about just being able to discern the voice of God, knowing what is the will of God from any season.
And so the first thing I will say is, of course,
there's the beauty of prayer. But in order to discern the voice of God, you have to know the voice of God.
And if you want to know the voice of God, you got to go back to how God has allowed himself to be presented to us.
And part of that presentation is through scripture. And so when I'm reading the Bible, and I'm doing something on substack. If you haven't, you should subscribe to my substack where I am going through the first 12 books of the Bible and just sharing.
what that reveals to me about the character of God
because in scripture God's given us
insight into who he is and so you know
when we are like watching the movie
like everybody you know everybody got Netflix and stuff
but when I was growing up come on auntie
when I was growing up I just turned the TV on
and sometimes you catch a movie right in the middle of the movie
and you could like flip the channel or you could say you know what
I'm going to figure out the plot and so you start trying to figure out
okay so this is the good guy that's the bad guy
there's something going on with them.
When you read scripture, I want you to consider bringing that same approach because you're
trying to figure out who God is.
So don't just read the story on the surface level.
Allow yourself to think critically about what that means about the person who is involved in that
moment.
So if you go back to Genesis 1, and for me, I spoke about this when I preach, and we look at
the fact that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth, and that the earth was
formless and void and darkness was in the spirit of God was hovering over the face of the deep.
When we look at that scripture, what that says to me is that like God doesn't mind starting
with things that aren't at their fullest potential, that he has the ability to take something
that's not at its fullest potential and to bring it into a place of beauty.
So then we skip over to Psalm where it says, I'm fearfully and wonderfully made.
It's easier to believe that we're fearfully and wonderfully made because the same God who's
started with formless and void and darkness, then is able to create the beauty that we see today
with the ocean and the mountains and the stars and the sky and the sun. And so being fearfully
and wonderfully made doesn't mean that I don't have moments where I am not formless or void or
that there's not darkness. It just means that when God gets finished with me, when God gets
finished working on me, I'm fearfully and wonderfully made because that's the kind of God that I serve.
And when you begin to understand God's voice and God's heart and God's character, when the Holy Spirit is with you, like we're not in the Bible, we're just going through life.
And the Holy Spirit speaks something to you or the Holy Spirit it begins nudging you.
That's the Spirit of God inside of you.
I could probably do a whole devotional about the Spirit of God working inside of us.
You're able to say, oh, that was God.
I know your voice.
So like, once I might, like, I can't tell you about the voices in my head.
Is this a safe space?
So like when I start hearing, you're dumb, you didn't have no business doing that.
You're not called.
You're not anointed.
And I'm like, maybe this is God trying to talk me out in ministry.
Maybe this is God trying to say I'm not a good mother.
I'm not a good leader.
I have to fact check.
Has God ever spoken to anyone like this before?
And if he has, what was the context in which he was rebuking someone?
Were they in disobedience?
Were they doing X, Y, N, have you been disobedient?
Okay.
So if you have been doing the best that you know how to do and you have,
haven't been in blatant disobedient, then we know that voice didn't come from God because he doesn't
condemn, he convicts. And when he convicts, he does it out of love and kindness. Even when he convicted
David for sleeping with Bathsheba or violating Bathsheba, he sent a prophet who understood how to speak
to him in a way that he would understand. And so it's just important that when we're reading scripture,
that we're not just doing it to check a box because I want to come off as a good Christian,
but I'm closing the Bible and I don't know anything more about God and I don't know anything more
about me. You may have to take your time. You may have to read the same few verses over and over again,
but it is worth it for you to allow yourself to experience the voice of God and then be able to discern
the voice of God in your everyday life. The other thing I'll say is never read the Bible without
first asking God to open your heart, open your mind, to allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you
as you are reading through scripture.
And then I'll do another deep dive one day on just reading the scripture in context
and how that's powerful for us as we consider what modern application looks like.
But I hope that helped you.
Thank you for calling in and thank you for loving this show.
Hi, Sarah, Jake's Roberts.
My name is Andrea.
I have called before, but I decided to call again because I thought about something else
that I wanted to bring through attention and maybe some you can help me with.
So I am in a new relationship.
We were friends for about two years before we got together, but this is the first relationship that I am in that is Christ-centered.
I've had a past, and it's definitely different.
But my question to you is, how do you make sure that you are setting for you,
boundaries so that you don't cost less food boundaries, shall I say.
But still, you know, spend time with your partner and still, you know, cater to them and
things of that nature.
Like, you know, I want to make sure I'm in a season now where, like, my relationship with
Christ means more to me than anything.
But I want to also make sure I'm honoring, you know, waiting until marriage and stuff
like that.
But it's just like, it's so hard to not get tend to.
to do certain things.
And it's like, I want to, you know, be affectionate with my partner.
You know, I want to hug him and, you know, love on him and kiss on you and stuff like that.
But how do we make sure we don't cross that boundary?
Because it's been plenty of times where we've had to both stop ourselves and be like, you know, hey, it's a little too much.
But how do we get to the point where we just, you know, we don't have to do that?
We're currently long distance right now.
So it's a little easier with us not being here, being with each other.
But I just know that the times that we do get together and so about that,
because we haven't seen each other in so long,
I just know everything's going to be so intense.
So I just want to know, like, how can we as a couple keep that boundary and maintain it?
So hope to hear back from you.
Thank you.
Let me tell you something.
I appreciate you for sending in this question because it's one.
one that I feel like more people can be honest about.
Again, thank you for trusting me with something that is so delicate.
It makes perfect sense.
Like, first relationship Christ,
we're trying to make sure that Jesus stays in the middle
and that we don't end up in the middle.
Amen.
And we're also trying to make sure that when we are together,
because we're long distant,
that all of that pent up passion don't come.
I understand what you're saying in this question.
And so what I want to say is this, one, it is great that you all are both honoring this boundary.
It is even more challenging when one person is trying to maintain it and the other person isn't.
So I want to commend you all for that.
I think that you know yourself.
You know your body.
You know your urges.
You know your temptations.
And that's a beautiful thing because you are able to express to your partner and to create
meaningful boundaries for yourself when your partner comes in.
to town. One of the things that I think is really important is obviously communication and then just
being intentional about not putting yourself in a situation where things can go too far. That means like
maybe you know you're not staying at my house or you know we keeping it on in the living room or you
got to leave past a certain hour like really having those boundaries in place. If you think like
the moment you come into my place something could happen then we can't go into my place.
It's, you know, we're not going to, it's not going in the car.
We could be out.
We could be at the restaurant.
We can hold hands.
We can walk and stuff.
But the boundary is we can't go into my place.
What I want you understand, like, sex is beautiful.
It's a gift from God.
And when it's what's the person who God has placed on this earth for you to be with, it is supposed to be worship and anointing and beautiful.
And I think that the more that sex becomes casualized, the more it becomes about our body.
and our feelings and our urges. And the reason why that is such a challenge is because at the end of the
day, one of the fruits of the spirit is discipline and we do not have to say yes to every urge that
our body experiences. And part of you wanting to honor God and to honor your relationship with
Christ and your relationship means to bring even your own body into subjection for when it is
appropriate. And so with you wanting to walk out your faith in this way,
I think it's important that you acknowledge that like I'm human and I have a body and I have urges and that's normal and there's nothing wrong with it.
But because I am choosing to honor God with my body and with my sexuality in this way, I have to have some boundaries because I know me.
Well, you got to know you when you know you.
I know me.
I can't be on the couch with you kissing.
I know me.
I can be.
It's not because I don't want to, but it's because I want to honor God more.
then I want to give in to this urge.
And so I have to set myself up to when.
And so I don't want you to like demonize yourself for having the urges.
God placed those urges in us so that when we are partnered with the person God has for us,
that we have a beautiful, vibrant sex life.
And also that it is not that time for you right now,
which means that you have the ability to bring your body into discipline
and subjection until the time comes.
And when the time comes, for every mountain, for every time you said no.
You understand what I'm saying?
The Lord says, I will restore what the local is the be.
When the time has come, everything will work out in your favor.
But until the time comes, there's a, oh, I don't know if she even still makes it.
There used to be a girl on Twitter when I first started blogging.
And her keeping it locked till I get that rock, baby.
That is your portion on today.
And you can do it and you can do it and you can do it.
But you got to set yourself up to win.
Okay, thank you for sending me your question.
There are some things about money that I really wish somebody would have pulled me to the side and taught me sooner because, child, some of those lessons are hard to learn.
And I had to learn them the hard way.
And now that I have kids of my own, I think about it differently.
I don't want them to have to wait until they're grown, making real life decisions with real life consequences to start figuring out how money works.
I want to give them some tools and some of those tools I give them now while I can still help guide them.

Hi, Sarah.
My name is Heaven.
I'm calling in from North Carolina.
And I really just have a question
about discernment.
I do pray and worship every day,
especially on my way to work.
And I just been lately having these visions
of just being somewhere better,
being somewhere bigger, like business, just picturing myself in those suits and just around a lot of women that like to motivate each other.
But I can't really put my finger on it, and I keep having these visions just all around of a better life.
And it's like kind of I'm stagnant, and it's like I need to make a move, but I don't know what move to make.
I have all these ideas, and I don't really have too much discernment about which one to choose.
And I've had this problem for a little while now, and I'm just, I don't know what is ruling yet.
And so I guess I want to know whether or how you stepped into your vision,
and your faith, leading that in a way that you knew that's exactly what you were called to do
amongst the many things that you've thought that you may have wanted to do.
I'm always in constant, you know, communication with God, and I'm amazed at what he's done,
and I feel like I'm stagnant maybe in my mustard seat of faith, and maybe fear is controlling.
I'm not really sure, but I wanted to get your perspective on discernment,
how to grow your discernment and, you know, really just aiming towards that.
I'm currently now on day nine of my fast, and I really don't have an ending to what day
or time frame that I will stop my fast.
I'm literally just eager to grow, eager to, you know, transform.
And I have realized that when you pray for something, God doesn't just give it to you.
You know, he allows things, situations to occur.
for you to gain that.
So I think that it's so beautiful and, you know, sometimes growth and evolving definitely, definitely
can't hurt at times, but it's all worth the little trials and tribulations.
So thank you for hearing me.
I love you, girl.
I've been watching you since Girl Get Up.
That brought me through a great depression time of my life going through postpartum,
so I just want to thank you.
You're truly amazing.
and you inspire me so much.
Bye.
Girl get up.
That message has gone all over the world.
Thank you for allowing me to serve that season of your life.
I've been thinking a lot about women in postpartum.
And so to know that God's allowing something I did to serve you in that challenging season of your life, I really appreciate it.
Because I answered about discernment a little bit earlier, I am going to trust that,
you heard that. And I'm going to speak more about the vision that God has given you. And I want to
focus in on that a little bit more because when God gives us these visions, or we're receiving these
visions and we're not sure whether or not they are from God, I think, first of all, anytime that
you see a vision of something that seems bigger than you or more powerful than where you are,
because there's a gap between who you are now and what it appears that God is showing you.
That's one of the signs for me that it's a God thing because it means that that's something I can't do in my own strength.
It's going to require me to trust God, to become someone in God, to shed some skin in order to step into it.
And so that was part of when I started realizing that I was, that's honestly the only reason why I keep on speaking.
It's not because I feel like I'm particularly good at it.
But even when I watch clips of me preaching, it feels like there's such a gap between who I feel I am and who's standing up in that moment that I know it's God that's making up the difference.
Because I honestly truly be chilling.
And yet, when I talk about God and when I discover something about God, I become someone that is not my default setting.
I become brave and courageous and there's a power on display that doesn't belong to me.
It belongs to God.
So in order for me to step into that, though, I had to surrender the identity of who I thought I was.
I had to be willing to say yes to God.
Listen, on small levels.
So your job is not to figure out how do I go from where I am now to this vision God has shown me.
It's God, what is my next best yes?
I want to know what is in my world right now that you are using to train, equip, transform me into that vision that you have shown me.
Because when we begin to ask that question, not how do I get from here to there, there's an anxiety that we have when we're trying to pursue that thing.
And scripture tells us to be anxious for nothing.
Let me pull up that full scripture for you.
This episode of Woman Evolve is brought to you by Alloy Health.
Okay, so apparently there are levels to this skincare thing because why did nobody tell us that some of the changes happening to our skin as we get older may actually be connected to our hormones.
You can have the cleanser, you can have the moisturizer, you can have the expensive little serum that came in that tiny bottle with that big price tag.
But as estrogen declines, our skin can become thinner, drier, and more crapey because estrogen naturally helps maintain collagen, elasticity, and hydration.
So if the problem is hormonal, your skin care routine may need to understand the assignment too.
That's where M4 skin care from alloy comes in.

It's so easy sometimes to just quote that one scripture, but looking at it within,
context and seeing who was being spoken to and what was spoken before and after helps us to better
understand God's intention in us reading the scripture. I know that this was Paul. Yes,
that's Philippians four, six. Oh, it's so good. Okay. So Paul is talking to the church in Philippi,
and he is trying to get so Paul is an apostle he's a disciple let me say so he is someone who was a Jew
at the time that Jesus was alive and at the time that Jesus was alive he was a very um I'm trying
to make sure that I don't use like more traditional biblical language so that it's easier to
understand for those of you who may not have background.
But he was like a very strict religious person.
And he felt like it was his mission to make sure that everyone, as many people as possible,
were adhering to the rules of Jewish religion and culture.
And anyone who did not do that, he was persecuting, literally willing to kill,
anyone who was going against the beliefs of the time.
And then he has an encounter with Jesus while he was literally on the road to persecute people who had started following Jesus.
So to follow Jesus, Jesus was Jewish.
But to follow Jesus meant to say that he was the Messiah.
So part of what the Jews have been awaiting for is the Messiah.
This is the chosen king who would come and restore the kingdom of Israel and restore the power and position of the kingdom.
And so Jesus comes and he goes, I'm the king.
I'm the king that you've been looking for in their life.
Like, if you won, you're not the king that we were looking for because you don't talk like the king.
We were looking for.
You're breaking rules.
You're doing things that we would never anticipate from the king.
And how are the Romans still in charge if you are the king?
Like, we came to really set up shopping you out here healing people and hugging on folks.
This isn't kind of kingdom we're looking for.
And Jesus is like, I promise you, I'm the king.
But this, my kingdom is not of this world.
It doesn't have the culture and tones of this world.
It doesn't take on the violence and philosophies of this world.
And so people, the Jews are frustrated because they feel like he's starting this cult of people who are believing against the very virtues of what the king should look like and causing an upworld dissension.
And so, yes.
So anyways, Paul has an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus where all of a sudden this Jew who believed fiercely and ferociously in the fact that he was not the Messiah becomes radically convinced.
I've been persuaded that this is the king of kings, the one we have been waiting for.
And so he goes about and he's traveling and he's evangelizing to all of these different communities,
telling them about Jesus and how he is the chosen one and what he's come to do.
And the Lord is just giving him revelation after revelation, I should say.
I've jacked this story up, no doubt.
But he has an encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.
It's really the spirit of Jesus because Jesus has ascended.
But anyways, he goes from places.
place. And so he is talking to a church in Philippi when he writes this and he tells them to
rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
And then he says, be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with
Thanksgiving. Let your request be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all
understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. When God gives you a vision of
what's possible. And I think this is a beautiful.
passage to parallel with this moment in the text is because he's trying to help them understand
who they are now, who they should be aiming for now that they have become believers.
But he's telling them, don't do it from the place of anxiety, but in everything, but in prayer
and by supplication. So from a place of gratitude, from a place of prayer, I want you to let your
request be made known to God. When God brings something to your heart and you're wondering,
God is this you. God am I supposed to say yes, not from a place of anxiety, but from a place of prayer,
begin to make your request to say, God, I want to step into what you've called me to do.
I want to be bold. I want to step out of some of these boundaries, these self-imposed restrictions
and boundaries that I've given myself that keep me from walking in the fullness of who you are.
To pray from that place and to do it where we allow the peace of God to really rest on us while we do it.
helps us to become more clear about the next best yes that is in front of us.
So God, what's in my hand?
What's in my environment?
What's in my control right now?
That can help me step into that transformation without anxiety but with trust because I
know you're going to perform the work that you've placed on the inside of me.
I know that was a long answer.
And I will do it deeper.
I think it's about time that we do a deeper Bible study dive devotion so that I'm not
rush and I can give you proper context.
Okay, family, listen to me real quick. If life has been giving pure stress and your mental bandwidth is officially in its flop area, I need you to pause. Because listen, going with the flow is fine, but some of us are out here drowning in the flow. We are not struggling through life's chaos in 2026 when peace is literally available. and do all of these things at once? It's God, what needs to be cultivated inside of me to become who
you've called me to be? And is there anything in my environment right now that can help me with that
cultivation and to or God show me not is there. God show me what's in my environment right now
that's meant to cultivate what you've placed inside of me. Who child? That was a lot. I hope that
it helped you though. And if you want to send me some of your business to mind, you know,

I would love to mind your business
and to just share with you my advice experiences
that may be helpful to what you're going through.
Okay, let's see.
We close whereabouts.
So let's maybe pray for rest.
We started with rest.
Let's end in rest.
Holy Spirit, rest on us.
In the same way that the Spirit of God was covering.
the face of the deep, we pray that you would cover us, that that same spirit that took what was
hidden in darkness and transformed it into what we now experienced through earth. Let it be in us.
That where there's darkness, discouragement, confusion, and questioning, may we be reminded that
the Spirit of God not just covers and hovers over those spaces, but that the Spirit of God has the ability
to transform them. And so may we rest in knowing that you're with us. And may we know that you're
with us because we invite you into our hearts and our minds every single day. So Holy Spirit,
I ask that you would invade the territory of the individuals listening to this podcast,
that you would invade their mind, their heart, their thoughts, their soul, and that you would give
them wisdom, that you would guide them, that you would lead them as only you can do. And
And I thank you, God, that as they rise, that every ship connected to them will rise to
because they will be a monument of your glory.
Thank you, God, for the gift of this podcast and the beauty of getting to serve these,
your sons, and daughters.
It's a privilege I don't take for granted.
In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen.
