Don Harris, your host, taking you by the hand and dragging you through the red ink. I hope you don't feel like I'm dragging you. I just love these studies. I hate our subject, but I love these studies. Well, it's very difficult, very difficult in the end of Jesus's life to realize that everything he says is being watched. Every word he's saying is being, you know, discriminated

Starting point is 00:00:53 against and discriminatingly judged. And they're looking for reasons to kill him, looking for reasons to turn him over to the Romans. And it's just an awful time because these people who has decided we will not have this man to reign over us is going to figure out a way that's going to be true. And by the way, he hasn't. He hasn't reigned over Jerusalem, not in 2,000 years. How do you like it, boys? Alright, Jesus is predicting Peter's denial. We're in chapter 107. When they came to the Mount of Olives, Jesus said to his disciples,

Starting point is 00:01:39 All ye shall be offended because of me this night. Important. All of you. For it is written, Peter replied saying mistake. Peter mistakenly replied though all men shall be offended because of thee yet I will never be offended. Now you have to understand when this started he says all of you. But one

Starting point is 00:02:24 guy had to open his mouth. I'll continue and you'll see what I mean. Jesus answered him, Verily I say unto thee that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Peter answered, Although I would die with thee, I would not deny thee. All the disciples

Starting point is 00:02:49 said the same. Then Jesus said to his disciples, when I sent you without purse and script and shoes. Lacked you anything? The disciples replied, nothing. Jesus spoke to them saying, but now he that hath a purse, let him take it and likewise his script. And he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one. For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me. And he was reckoned among the transgressors.

Starting point is 00:03:41 For the things concerning me have an end. What did he just say i'm afraid the king james is uh you know doing a little brain scramble here but don't miss it he's saying now you remember when i was empowering you and i believe it was there was a time when he sent out seven time he sent out 70 when I empowered you I was able to say to you don't take your purse don't take money

Starting point is 00:04:17 don't take anything that you think you need neither two coats I'm going to see to it that you have everything you need hey guys that's coming to an end you're going to be on your own for a little bit so i would say that if you got money maybe i ought to take it with you. You got Roman script? Take it with you. And if you don't have a sword to protect yourself with, this is so important

Starting point is 00:04:53 that perhaps you even ought to sell your garment to get one. Now, of course, the disciples answered, Lord, here's two swords. And he said, it's enough. It's interesting that among the 12 disciples, there were two swords. That's interesting in itself.

Starting point is 00:05:18 But Jesus is saying that, you know what? I'm not going to be able to help like I did before. And the other factor that you need to be aware of is back then when you went out and you were in my name, they all knew that I was the healer. I was the deliverer. I was the Messiah. They welcomed you into their houses. You remember that? You need to know that once they take me, you're going to be considered a transgressor. You're going to be considered a criminal. The world is going to change their attitude about you.

Starting point is 00:06:01 And when they do, I'm not going to be here to help. You're going to have to take a lot of these things into your own hands. Friend, I'm telling you that. If you are one of these people who believes that, you know, the Lord knows everything, and He's all-powerful, He's going to take care of me. And one of the things that i can hardly stand hearing people say well you know god's in charge it's good to know god's in charge

Starting point is 00:06:32 he's not in charge people he's not in charge you want to you want to talk to the the people of the philippines that just you know had a tsunami wiped their life out? You want to talk to the atheists that blame God for that? You want to talk to the Christians that blame God for that? Well, he wiped out a bunch of... You know, they had earthquakes in California. Well, that's because they had Gay Pride Day or whatever else, whatever reason you come up with

Starting point is 00:07:06 that God blesses or he curses or whatever else you want to believe about that, well, let's go. He's in charge. No, he's not in charge. You're in charge. You're the one that makes these things happen and not happen. You're the one who develops laws or stands against them. You're the one who stands on the street corner and preaches

Starting point is 00:07:34 righteousness and holiness and sanctification to the world. You're the one who makes the demands. You're the mouthpiece of God. And for you to push it all off on him well if it's god's will it's gonna happen no it's not where did you even get such an idea as that the bible says it's the will of god that all men would be saved what's the chances of that zero it doesn't matter what the will of god is only to those who are trying to perform his will on the earth if his it is his will that all men everywhere be saved then get to work make it happen how else is it happen? I try to tell people, you know, this is very much like what Peter's tried to teach us, saying, you know what you people are like? You think that God's in control?

Starting point is 00:08:36 You think that he's just sitting around hoping somebody will pray so he can do something? Be ye warmed and filled. Yet, you give them not the things that are needful for the body. Be ye warmed and filled. No, thank you. God bless you. Well, I would that he would. But chances are, if I get blessed, it'll be another human being who blesses me. Because God has chosen for it to be that way. It's your privilege to do the will and the work of God in the earth. You want to believe that God's going to protect you?

Starting point is 00:09:20 What about poor little Cassie Burnell? I think about her all the time because it was just such a blatant, in-your-face move by this murderer in the Columbine tragedy, who pointed a gun at her and said, you deny Christ or I'm going to kill you. She's dead. Was that the will of God? Absolutely not. It absolutely was not. Just because, was it the will of God for Cassie Brunel to live and to grow up and be married and have children and enjoy life and enjoy a life of spirituality and enjoy the Lord forever? Yes, it was. why isn't she doing that

Starting point is 00:10:07 because say some satanic little kid decided that he wanted to take her life somewhere along the line i guarantee don't know this for a fact but i feel down within me and you're gonna have a hard time convincing me otherwise. Somewhere along the line, this little satanic sycophant who pulled a gun on her and killed her, somewhere along the line, there's a Christian influence in his life. There was a person influencing his life who claimed to be Christian

Starting point is 00:10:46 you know if it's God's will that he turn out to be a good man it'll happen but if it's not why he's liable to turn out to be a murderer in high school is it really smart to talk that way or are you just pretty much proven to everybody around you just how stupid and lazy you really are?

Starting point is 00:11:09 You don't care about the things of God because you don't bring them to pass. It's you that is going to bring them to pass. How can I make this clear? Widow down the street needing something and you've got it and she doesn't have it because you won't walk down there and hand it to her. I'll tell you what you do, buddy. Why don't you just pray? And if you see her walking up the street to work with no coat on in the middle of winter and she's shivering and snow's stuck in her hair and she's you know it's obvious that she's cold

Starting point is 00:11:47 as she walks by your by your house stick your hand out and say be ye warmed and filled see how much good that does if it's god's will he'll bless you if it's not his will why you know you just have to walk with those shoes with holes in the soles was the water coming up through them oh i hate that but hey must be the will of god man we need to quit talking this way okay i'm exaggerating i'm exaggerating to make a point there's no future in talking this way there's certainly no salvation on the part of the people that we commit to the curses of God by saying that it's his will.

Starting point is 00:12:31 Jesus was saying to his disciples, look here, guys, things are about to change. When I'm gone, I'm not going to talk much with you. You're not going to have me. You're going to have to depend on your own wits this is why i'm trying to change you from the inside this is why this hasn't been a college course it's why it's not education because i'm trying to change it from the inside be led of the spirit of god you know who can handle a sword and by handle it i don't mean skillfully I mean who knows how to handle a weapon

Starting point is 00:13:07 a man who loves his neighbor a man who loves his brother a man who is in touch with God those are the kind of people that ought to be carrying swords or weapons if you will that's the kind of people they need to be. Who doesn't need to be carrying them? People of no spirit, no character,

Starting point is 00:13:32 no fear of God, no respect for their neighbor. Those are the people who shouldn't be. And Jesus is saying, you expect me to protect you from these people? Is that what you expect me to do? I'm not going to be here to do it. So, you got money? Better carry it with you.

Starting point is 00:13:55 Do you have power? Do you have influence? Do you have what it takes? Are you called to do something? Do you have some kind of an asset? Keep it close. Because things are about to get rough. And when I sent you out before, I told you I'm sending you sheep among wolves.

Starting point is 00:14:17 But I'm going to look after you. I don't want you protecting yourself out there like that. And there's a time when he will say those kinds of things to us, that he will protect us, but you better get the word of God on it. I'm talking about the word of God as the real word of God, where you actually hear within yourself the word of God giving you those kinds of orders and commissions and commandments. There is nothing more important for you than to hear the voice of god for yourself you're not gonna you're not gonna get your commission your commandment your power

Starting point is 00:14:54 anything from a book you're not gonna get that it's not there oh you can mentally ascend to it you can swear to god it's true if that's what you want to do but you're not going to find any real power here your power comes from knowing you know the voice of god when you hear it jesus says my sheep don't know the voice of strangers they know the voice of god but they don't know the voice of strangers. They know the voice of God, but they don't know the voice of strangers. They're not going to follow him. They're going to follow me.

Starting point is 00:15:33 Jesus is saying, you need to be prepared because the things concerning me, listen to me now, the things concerning me have an end. Things are about to change when we've been living in that day from that day until this one i know you want to believe that you know god's your personal valet and that he's got everything in control but he doesn't not because he doesn't want to not because he doesn't have power enough to do that but because you've been commissioned to do the work and will of god on this earth that's what you're here for you can sit in your little congregations and listen to these

Starting point is 00:16:20 prevaricating preachers tell you that it's it's not what you do it's what you believe that's what you want to do but you know what you believe doesn't do a blasted thing for a man who's hungry doesn't do a blasted thing for a man sitting in prison on concrete with nobody to visit him or a naked man with having something to wear doesn't do a thing for them. The only thing it does anything for is you. You feel better when you say, be warmed and filled. Yet you don't give them the things that are needful for the body. The apostle continues,

Starting point is 00:17:00 how dwells the love of God in you? Friend, it doesn't. The disciples answered, Lord, here are two swords. Jesus answered, it's enough. One of his disciples, Judas, not Iscariot, asked Jesus, Lord, how is it you will manifest yourself to us and not to the world? Now listen to this, because, friend, this is what I'm asking you to do when I say take time every day to hear the voice of God.

Starting point is 00:17:36 It's the promise of Jesus that if you'll keep my commandments, I'll come into you. I'll manifest myself to you. I and my Father will manifest himself to you the disciples were so convinced that when he said manifest he meant manifest like he's manifested in front of them now how is it that you're going to manifest yourself to us and not to the world jesus replied if a man loved me he'll keep my commandments he'll keep my words and my father will love him so much for the god loves you bumper sticker it'd be nice to have a bumper sticker that says, God loves you. No, not you.

Starting point is 00:18:32 God loves people who keep his commandments. Do you keep his commandments? And you think God loves you, and you don't? How can you think that? How can you think that reading this red ink here? He says, if you'll keep my words, my father will love him and we will come unto him and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not. How do we know the people that love God, the ones that don't? He says, the ones that don't love me keeps not my sayings. They don't know anything about red words, is what he's saying. They don't know anything about them.

Starting point is 00:19:14 And the word which ye hear is not even mine. The word that ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. These things I have spoken unto you, being yet present with you. Here we are again. Things are about to change. That the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name,

Starting point is 00:19:41 he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Wow. Did you see the word Bible in there anywhere? Wasn't the promise that he was going to send a Bible or a preacher or a church or a denomination or something to instruct us sunday school something the promise was i'm going to send the comforter and he's going to move inside

Starting point is 00:20:16 you and he's going to teach you everything you need to know he'll call to your remembrance everything that i have said to you. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Not as the world giveth. How does the world give peace? Through force, death, sword, guns, bombs, armies, even some of our laws, you know, the enforcement of the law.

Starting point is 00:20:50 That's the kind of peace that the world gives. And he's saying, don't expect it. Don't expect peace in the world. My peace I give to you. My peace I'm putting inside you. And he says, let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. Ye have heard how I have said unto you,

Starting point is 00:21:14 I go away and come again to you. If ye have loved me, you'd rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father. For my Father is greater than I. So much for a co-equal trinity. My Father is greater than I, and now I have told you before it come to pass that when it is come to pass, you might believe.

Starting point is 00:21:43 He used the term once before before i told you a four time and here he's saying i told you before he's saying hey you want to ask before what well in other words i predicted this i told you this i told you this was going to happen. And so when these things do happen, you can take comfort in it that I know all about it. Hereafter, I will not talk much with you. For the prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in me. The prince of this world cometh? What does that mean?

Starting point is 00:22:23 He's going to take my place. You have to understand that when they crucify me, they've removed me from the picture. They're going to have the king they want. Now me, they won't receive. But him, they will receive. And when he's in charge, this world is about to change for the worst. For the prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in me.

Starting point is 00:22:52 He and I have absolutely nothing to do with each other, but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do arise. Let's go from here. Really? That's how we're going to know this? Because you're going to go be killed? Not that he's just going to go be killed.

Starting point is 00:23:24 Not that he's just going to go be killed. Not that he's just going to go and lay down and be murdered. But he's saying, this is where it all starts. You'll find later on as we continue. He says a little something on his way out of the garden as he's being led away by the cowardly, pusillanimous leaders of the church. He's being led away and he said, Satan, this is your hour. Enjoy. What was he saying? He knew that it's not just the removal of what's good, because nature, the church, religion, people, everything you notice in life, this is what it means when it says nature abhors a vacuum. It's not going to live in a vacuum.

Starting point is 00:24:27 Just because you eliminated Christ does not mean there's a vacuole hole somewhere in society. There's not a God-shaped hole in society. Nope. Nope. It's full of the devil. Absolutely full of the devil. Absolutely full of the devil. The prince of this world comes. And what you're going to notice about him is, he ain't nothing like me.

Starting point is 00:24:55 Things are about to change. Things are going to get bad. Well, you're not encouraging me, preacher. Not my duty to encourage you my duty is to tell you as best i can the truth as i know it now one thing i can tell you if these things do worry you and they should but if they do here's something you should know. You can endure all these things by fixing the world within yourself. You see, we should love not the world,

Starting point is 00:25:40 neither the things that are in the world. The new man loved the world. The love of the Father is not in him. Wow, that sounds a lot like what I said a while ago. Be ye warmed and filled, yet you don't give them the things that they need. How dwelleth the love of God in you? How do we know the love of God dwells in us? The Bible gives us three ways and three ways only. One of them is that you keep His commandments. You doing that? The other way is the Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are indeed the sons of God.

Starting point is 00:26:21 The third way that is irrefutable is that we love the brethren. This is why the apostle had felt no resistance at all in saying, how dwells the love of God in you? You know what the answer to that question is? It doesn't. It doesn't. Friends friend we have a problem we're going to have to pay close attention to this kind of things especially in the day in
