Words of Jesus Podcast - Making Provision For The Future Of The Kingdom Of God
Episode Date: February 28, 2025Jesus gives vital instruction his disciples (and us) for the operation of the Kingdom of God through revelation and communication with the Spirit of God. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of... my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11***108: Jesus At The Last SupperMatthew 26:14-30; Mark 14:10-26; Luke 22:3-39; John 13:1-17:26Jesus Prays For His Disciples Then Jesus lifted up his eyes Heavenward and said: “Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee, as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth. I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world. Thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou has given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am come to thee.Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth. Thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me, for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee; but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” Then Jesus and the disciples went out to the Mount of Olives.

Think Red Ink Ministries presents the Words of Jesus series with Don C. Harris.
Hello my friends, welcome once again to the Words of Jesus series.
I'm Don Harris, your host, and we are coming to you from
my town, New Mexico. This is a ministry of Think Red Ink
Ministries, all about thinking red ink. The idea is
for us to think like Jesus thought, to do what Jesus did,
to do what Jesus said to do.
So we have meticulously and completely gone through almost all of this book.
We have come to the end of Jesus' life when he's about to be murdered by church people.
And so he is lamenting that fact.
As a matter of fact, he's just come out of a situation
where he was praying to the Father
and speaking to his disciples
about the way things are going to be
after he returns to his Father in Heaven.
He told them about the promise of the Spirit.
He told them that things were going to be a a little different that they were going to receive power that uh they were going to be able to ask him
for things and that anyone who asked him in my nature is able to receive from me uh what uh he
needs i'm not going to leave you comfortless you're not going to be down here with no comfort
or worried about yourself or worrying about some whether or not somebody's going to leave you comfortless. You're not going to be down here with no comfort or worried about yourself or worried about
whether or not somebody's going to lop off your head
or any of the rest of these things.
These things may indeed happen.
However, you know, we live in a different world.
We live in a different realm.
And he wanted them to know that.
I am outfitting you for that realm.
And you know, there's a handful of people out there
that know exactly what I'm talking about.
Most people, when they hear what I say,
they don't know what I'm talking about.
But if you have ever entered into the Spirit of God,
living by the Spirit of God, You know what that's like.
It's almost like you're living in a bubble.
It's almost like you're seeing the world through somebody else's eyes.
I remember one time, my brother and I,
when we were kids working on different projects he and I would have,
one thing we wanted was a robot car
that has the ability, you know, with a video camera
where you could actually drive it by watching television.
Now it doesn't sound much, you know,
doesn't sound very exciting today.
Now we have cars that we can remote control
through the internet from millions of miles away. And, know I guess there's been moon landings and there's been all kinds of
technology since then that doesn't sound like much but to us it was it was pretty
cool. He ended up making a little car with a video camera on it and you could
just pretty much drive it down the road and see where you were going and see people and
move the camera around. It was really fun. But what it was, was kind of living through the lens
of a camera. And many times, as I consider the world and I find myself, feel myself detached from it it's almost like that feeling it's uh you drive uh even like these uh
bomb sniffing robots right they go into these buildings and they they go and they work on the
bomb and they dismantle it and everything i'm sure that whoever is you know working the joysticks or doing whatever they do, if the bomb goes off, I'm sure they flinch.
But they probably are relieved almost a nanosecond later to realize that they're not really there.
And these feelings that I'm talking about, this reaction, this remote observation,
it's really available to people who live by the Spirit of God. about this, this reaction, this remote observation.
It's really available to people who live by the Spirit of God.
And Jesus wanted us to know that that's the kind of life that we can have here.
That, you know, fear not those who can destroy the body.
I'll tell you who you shall fear.
You fear him that has the ability that after he's destroyed the body, he can destroy the soul as well in hell. I say unto you, fear him.
It's the only fear that we have to deal with.
And so he's trying to explain to them that we're going to institute
a whole new system. And that system is going to be that you're going to be
run by, operated by, internally guided by the Spirit of God. You know what the Spirit of God is. That's
what I have been operating under all the time I was here. I've been your example. Take a look.
Think I did some wonderful things while I was here? Wait until you get in charge. There's 12
of you guys. Well, there was 11 charge. There's 12 of you guys.
Well, there was 11 then.
There would be 12 when the Apostle Paul came along.
But he says, you're going to do greater works than I ever did.
I think sometimes that when we consider his promise
that we would do greater works than his,
that we, I don't know, we kind of drop off into that
miracle working, magic kind of
rabbit in a hat kind of thinking. Whereas I don't think
we consider this perhaps the way we should.
I was telling a man who had built a
well a worldwide Christian television network
and approaching the end of his life, you know,
and he was, you know, as naturally anybody would,
considering, you know, what they've done
and, you know, whether or not they've made a difference in their life.
And if you've not been there, you'll be there.
And I was saying that, you know, we need not think that when Jesus said,
you know, greater works than I have done, you're going to be able to do,
that that means, you know, what is greater than raising somebody from the dead?
What is greater than coming out of the grave yourself after you've been dead for three days?
Is there really anything greater than that?
I think what we've done is we've kind of read
a magic act into this.
And so we're thinking, you know,
Jesus turned water into wine.
Why, if we do greater works than him,
we'll be able to turn sand into champagne.
No, no, you're not thinking about this right.
We have a job to do in this earth, and we have to interface with this world.
And there are many things that we need to try to accomplish.
You know, our apps and our, you know, TRI's website, our internet television and our radio, the
broadcast that we do on terrestrial stations in the United States and on satellite and things
like that. I've already talked to more people than Jesus has. I've already done that. And I was telling this man, you know, you've actually done greater
than Jesus ever did. He talked to three or four hundred people on a hillside.
You talked to three or four hundred million.
You know, that's an accomplishment.
And those kind of accomplishments come to people who's, well,
essentially their brains are opened up.
All the synapses are firing in their brain.
You know, they love the Lord God with all their heart, full of His Spirit. And, you know, so they accomplish
things. And I don't think we need to read into that
anything like, you know, this miracle working
circus act
that most people think about.
Man, people accomplish some wonderful things
in the day in which we live.
I don't know if you've ever thought about it,
but you know the earth, the whole world,
up until, I don't know, 150, 200 years ago,
was essentially like it was 3, 4, 5, 6,000 years ago was essentially like it was three four five six thousand years ago
you know there's hardly a difference uh people rode horses six thousand years ago and they rode
horses 200 years ago they didn't fly through the air you know but we do. There has been an incredible increase in technology,
ability to travel, and to be able to do some of the things we do. Friend, we owe this to
Christianity. I know the atheists are hollering right now, but no, you don't owe this to your own brain. You owe this to a miracle of God that would
open up this kind of technology on the earth. We're able to preach to millions. We're able to
get this gospel around the entire world in nanoseconds. Okay, not nanoseconds, but at least
the speed of light. And so there are some really wonderful things going on.
And these are, you know, fulfillments of his prophecy.
Not the raggedy, you know, pitiful prophecy of, you know,
I always ask people who play around with prophecy, you know,
they all just say the same thing, you know, thinking that, you know,
they're saying something new.
They're not. They're just saying what they've heard. And they talk about technology. And I said,
so where does the Bible say that there's going to be computers? Well, it says knowledge shall
increase. Really? You're taking the last 200 years of technological advancement advancement and you're saying that the prophecy that speaks of
that is three words knowledge shall increase really you're just too easily satisfied look
our technology it wasn't prophesied in the bible can we just admit that i mean we have you know
transcontinental uh uh oceanic voyages we have we have you have planes that can fly at the speed of sound.
You really want to boil all that down to they shall go to and fro? Really? You want to do that?
I don't want to do that. I think that is intellectually dishonest to do something
like that, to try to prove that the Bible's a magic
book or it's all full of prophecy and everything that we live in today is all recorded in the
Bible. No, it's not. It's not. When you compare the Bible with the Spirit of God who wrote it,
it's absolutely insufficient. Absolutely insufficient. I don't care what book you have how good it is how long it is how well
written it is i assure you it does not reflect every cognizant intelligent thought that that
author ever had i don't care what book you're dealing with So how do we get in touch with all of that? Well, Jesus promised it,
didn't he? He said, here's the way this is going to work. Now, I can't tell you everything, he said.
There's a lot of things I'd love to tell you, and I can't tell you. Not now, I can't.
But when the Spirit has come, he's going to guide you into all truth.
All truth, really?
He's going to explain how a silicon diode works?
He might explain that to somebody.
He's going to explain how to lay out an IC circuit?
He's going to explain it to somebody.
He's going to tell us how to program computers?
He might tell somebody. you think god is just
baffled by our computers you think that he's just baffled by our intelligence
yeah the it we have really just made foolishness out of the gospel by trying to make the gospel
something other than what we don't want to admit that uh
just a whole lot of it is foolishness oh you want to get mad at me paul said by the foolishness of
preaching preaching what the gospel god has decided to save the entire world you know it's okay for him to say it, but not for me. You're being unfair.
The truth is, is that most of us, most of us, most of us,
we're going to see the kingdom of God,
but probably not because of what we believed,
or because of what we did, or because of how intelligent we are.
Most of it, most of our reward will be in spite of the way we lived.
And we just need to admit that and just kind of back away a little bit.
If you don't understand what you read in the scriptures,
you don't understand the words of Christ, that's fine.
You know the difference in you and a lying preacher?
He doesn't understand it either either but he won't admit
it you'll be light years ahead of all of your teachers if you will admit your fallibility
and uh things that you just simply don't understand there's nothing humiliating about that
however it is somewhat humbling and uh boy, that's the mark of Christianity.
It's the mark. So I would encourage you to allow the Spirit of God to teach you.
Within the Spirit of God, according to the promise of Jesus Christ, He's going to show us
all things. All of our answers are to be found in hearing the voice
of God, not necessarily in Bible study or in, you know, going to Sunday school or, you know,
even, you know, preaching in seminars and such as that. So, you know, it's fine if they're dealing
in facts. If they're playing games and teaching fables, you need to go someplace else.
My advice to you is to develop a relationship
with the God who wants to speak to you.
He wanted to speak to you yesterday.
So where were you?
All right.
Jesus, just a few more notes
on some of the things that he said to his disciples
and in his prayer to the Lord on that Passover evening.
He said that his disciples were to be sanctified by truth.
Now we talked in a previous show that sanctification is kind of turned into a churchy word nobody
knows what it means i just think it means you know being made holy you know this you know the
very solemn look with your hands together that's very sanctified uh no it's not no that's just
being goofy and uh the idea of being sanctified is to be set apart
to be different from other people well you've been led of the spirit of god friend you're
sanctified they will sanctify you they will separate you from their company jesus said
so this is sort of a sanctification within itself. But he said, sanctify them by the truth.
Thy word is truth.
And don't make the mistake that 40,000 denominations have made
by thinking that if you possess a Bible,
you possess the word of God.
You do not.
This Bible is absolutely,
you can't even evaluate the weight, the moment,
the heaviness of these scriptures.
They are incredibly and extremely important.
And you should know, you should be familiar with every word of it.
However,
if you don't have the Spirit of God within you in some communicative effort between you and God,
some effective communicative relationship between you and
God where He can speak to you,
that's not being sanctified. That's pretty much being like everybody else.
If you need something, you need to get educated in that area.
That's why we approach the Bible like we do. Like we need to be
educated in the Bible. I don't understand the Bible
so I can't be a Christian.
That's not true. That's not true
at all. There were Christians
before there were
Bibles. You better believe
that. If you're one who
believes that the Bible has the power of
salvation, you're mistaken, my
friend. The
Bible doesn't have that power.
It doesn't have it. But our Lord Jesus, the one
possessed of the very same spirit that brought forth the scriptures, he has that power. He's
always had it. And that's why there's always been God's people on the earth with people who weren't, even though nobody had a Bible.
Is it hard for you to believe?
Do you think that the first century Christians walked around with a book under their arm?
No, they didn't.
Absolutely not.
Were they familiar with scriptures?
Yes, they were.
And they made sure they were.
Simply by going to public readings,
by hearing people quote from it, hearing people read it, and they were familiar with it. But most of all
they were familiar with the God who wrote it. And they knew within
themselves whether things were right and wrong. They didn't have to thumb
through their Bible to find out whether or not something was sin. They knew what
was sin. Those people so far surpass
the modern Christian. It's just pathetic. Absolutely
pathetic. There are people who justify gross and heinous
sin that if you looked at from the outside, just being a baby
Christian, you can see that's the wrong thing to do. They have
long since justified it with the
words from this book. They do it anyway. Jesus said, don't do that. Well, they do it anyway.
How is the Bible helping that person? It's not helping them at all. Matter of fact, according
to Jesus, it's condemning them. Because, you know, he says, if i hadn't come and showed you how this works i couldn't even
hold you responsible for it but now you know and so now you're responsible that's an interesting
concept in itself so he says i want you to sanctify them by the truth thy word is truth
nothing is going to sanctify you nothing is going to separate you from the. Nothing is going to sanctify you. Nothing is going to separate you from the world.
Nothing is going to do you more good
than to have some kind of a relationship
with the word of God.
If you don't know what I'm talking about,
will you please look into it?
You'll find that the scriptures talk about the word of God.
They go hand in hand with Jesus Christ.
That's who we have to have a relationship with.
I mean, one of the most famous scriptures in the Bible,
the word is quick and powerful,
sharper than any two-edged sword,
piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit,
and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart.
Neither is there anything that is not manifest in...
What's the next word?
Is it not a masculine pronoun?
Why would they attach a masculine pronoun to a book? Is this quick? Is it not a masculine pronoun? Why would they attach a masculine pronoun to a book?
Is this quick?
Is it alive?
Is it powerful?
Okay, you might poetically add the thought,
oh, yes, the Bible is extremely powerful.
Well, that's poetry.
Truth is, it's not powerful at all.
Jim Jones urinated on it. That doesn't sound like it's not powerful at all jim jones urinated on it that doesn't sound like it's
very powerful to me so the book doesn't have this kind of power it's not alive
but the bible says that the word of god is quick and powerful sharper than any two-edged sword
is it talking about a thing or is it talking about a person piercing even the dividing asunder of the soul and the spirit
and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart neither is there anything
that is not manifest in his sight. No, all things are naked and open
unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Friend, that scripture was never
telling you about your Bible. That scripture
was not talking about itself. It was talking
about Jesus Christ being the Word of God.
If you wish sanctification for yourself,
you're not going to find it in a book,
not in memorizing all the scriptures in the world.
You will not find it there.
Sanctification being set aside in this earth,
it will happen when you open those doors of
communication between you and god and friend i think i'm justified in saying i certainly
feel no resistance as i say it you're not going to find it anywhere else
you're not going to find it anywhere else. And until you realize what I'm talking about,
until you've actually experienced being led of the Spirit of God,
once that happens, you're with me.
You understand exactly what I'm saying.
You got your thumb stuck up right now saying,
preach it, preacher, because you know.
Remember when you didn't know?
Remember when you were so afraid of being deceived?
False prophets taking you away and teaching you something that was wrong?
And your preacher taught you to be careful?
Be careful of those false prophets.
How would you like to never fear a false prophet again?
Wouldn't that be nice?
Well, you can live that way.
You can have that kind of power, understanding, wisdom, knowledge of God
within your own spirit.
You don't have to worry about these kinds of things.
This is what Jesus was trying to tell his disciples when he was going away.
It's expedient for you that I go away.
If I go away, your lives are going to all change for the better.
You're going to understand exactly what I'm talking about.
I say things to you now, you don't understand them.
But after I'm gone, not that after the shock of me being murdered,
the shock of me hanging on a cross,
the shock of all the religious leaders running around causing trouble,
all the people running around the bottom of the cross,
wagging their heads and making fun of me
after the shock of all this murderous situation.
It's not the shock that's going to change you.
You're going to understand what I've said all along
because all of a sudden you're going to hear
with the ears that I've been talking about.
He that hath ears to hear.
He's not talking about the pieces of cartilage
on the side of your head.
You get ears.
You get faith.
Another misapplied scripture.
Faith cometh by hearing.
Hearing by the word of God.
There it is again.
You don't get faith by reading the Bible
or by hearing it read.
That's not what it's saying at all.
Faith cometh by hearing by the word of God.
It is the word of god sanctifying
you that gives you the ability to hear like you've never heard before it's all in these promises that
jesus is making to his disciples as he is about to depart from this life sanctify them by the truth the word is truth jesus goes on to make it very very clear
that the that his intention was to after this whole thing is over his intention his desire
was to go back with the father and regain the glory that he shared with him before the foundation of the world.
Now John, where these scriptures come from, begins by saying,
In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Wow, he's preaching the same thing I'm preaching.
That's exactly what I'm trying to say.
And so he starts out by saying that
in the beginning was the Word.
Whose beginning?
Our beginning.
I know people, you know, they like to act like that,
you know, Jesus is from eternity to eternity you
don't know that you don't read that in the scriptures uh jesus is not a created being
you don't know that why do you want to make up stuff and then hate people who don't believe it
i don't know why you do that you know what there's just a ton of stuff we don't know why you do that. You know what? There's just a ton of stuff we don't know. There's just a ton of stuff that we simply don't know.
My advice to you is to say, I don't know.
I don't know.
I do know what the Lord expects me to do, and I'm going to do that today.
And hopefully, I'm going to do that tomorrow.
Jesus' whole concern was, this is what I want them to know. This is the most
important thing. This is eternal life, that they might know you. Speaking to his father, saying
that they might know you and me, the one you sent. That's the most important thing in the world.
We got to go. Write to me, Don, at ThinkRedInc.com.
