Words of Jesus Podcast - Universal Instruction Regarding The Kingdom Of God
Episode Date: July 26, 2024The end will surely come. The appearance of Jesus will be universal and according to His word. First the tares will be taken, then the wheat. Take heart. Don't forsake prayer. Have faith in the s...alvation of Jesus and His Father. God is not unjust nor are the righteous forsaken. Don't be discouraged. Lay down your life. Pray to be worthy to stand in the evil day and to stand before the LORD Jesus at the judgment. ***80: The Parable Of The Widow And The JudgeLuke 18:1-8Jesus told a parable to his disciples to this end–that men ought always to pray, and not become discouraged, saying: “There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man. And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, ‘Avenge me of mine adversary.’ And he would not for a while. But afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I fear not God, nor regard man, yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” Jesus continued: “Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though her bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” ***81: The Parable Of The Pharisee And The PublicanLuke 18:9-14Speaking to persons who believed themselves to be righteous, while they despised others, Jesus said: “Two men went up into the temple to pray: the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus within himself, ‘God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are–extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto Heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, ‘God be merciful to me, a sinner.’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”

Think Red Ink Ministries presents
The Words of Jesus Series with Don C. Harris
Hello my friends, welcome once again to the Words of Jesus series.
Don Harris here.
We have been talking about end time things.
We're in chapter 80 now of our little book.
I'll tell you what, can I back up a little?
We just came out of chapter 79, but Jesus said some things that I'm afraid might have
got skipped over, at least in our thinking.
And that is that he was talking about these end times,
and then he's telling the story that is told many times
about the people who believe in a rapture,
and they say, oh, let me finish out.
As we finished the show the other day,
I was telling you that we just need to get a proper mindset,
and Jesus finishes what he has to say with this.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life is going to lose it,
and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
And you're not in charge of your life,
and you're not going to know enough
to escape this you're not going to be smart enough you're not going to have advanced notice enough to
escape this now he continues with this thought i tell you in that night who's in that night there
shall be two men in one bed and one shall be taken and the other left.
Two women shall be grinding together,
one shall be taken and the other left.
Two men in the field, one shall be taken and the other left.
First of all, let me show you something.
People in a bed.
This is nighttime.
It's nighttime somewhere.
And he says that there's going to be women that are going to
be grinding meal it's going to be morning mid-afternoon somewhere uh and it says men are
going to be in the field uh this it's going to be daylight somewhere you see how uh with these
three examples you can see that this is a this is a around the earth situation it's not going to
be daylight in one place and not be dark someplace else so this is all going to happen in a worldwide
situation to for some the coming of jesus christ is going to be in the middle of their night
some it's going to be in the middle of their day but Some, it's going to be in the middle of their day.
But nonetheless, it's going to be universal.
When people talk about being taken and left,
one of the biggest misconceptions,
well, misreadings, misunderstandings,
I don't know, willingly ignorant, I don't know what it is.
But they talk about being taken and left.
As a matter of fact, there's a whole series of tapes or movies or books or whatever else that
millions of dollars have been made on called left behind. Well, you're looking at a guy who
wants to be left behind because the truth is, is that the wicked are taken.
The righteous are left.
Show me a parable.
Show me a story where Jesus talked about end times and that wasn't the case.
It was in the days of Noah, what?
The wicked were taken away.
The righteous were left.
When he talks about the fish in the net,
they kept the good, threw the bad away.
But they gathered them all.
He says that they take, they go into the field
and they gather first the tares, then the wheat.
First the tares, then the wheat.
You're not going to find a story in the scriptures
where the good are separated from the bad.
You're not going to find that.
Because it's a gathering, it's a net.
They take them all and they cast the bad away.
They take all the wheat and the tare.
They gather first the tares into bundles to burn them.
That's, hey, you ever wonder what these faith preachers, they stand up
and lie to people and tell them that they're healed or tell them
that they're going to be financially prosperous and a hundredfold return
and sixtyfold return and all the rest of the stuff that they do.
You ever wonder, how is it that God can sit and listen
to somebody that sends out little square
inches of prayer claws and and says you know give this to your dog and it'll heal your dog
and people write back and say you know my dog was healed um you know and ask for money this kind of
thing you know if if you put an offering with it, we're going to pray over you. Give them little bottles of water and little bottles of oil
and sell this junk.
We have evangelists that played this game so long.
I just read, no sense in mentioning his name.
Shoot, man, it's a huge long list now.
But they estimated this guy worth 65
million dollars and there's people feel sorry for him because he got busted on 2020 for throwing
away prayer requests and taking checks out of the mail and i mean we all know what he's doing that
for we all understand that he's actually given a black eye to the body of christ
because we all sat around and watched him do it but and and and many times we say well you know
vengeance is mine sayeth the lord so god is gonna no no no forget that forget that god's not going to avenge those men, those silly women that do this miracle stuff,
all this supernatural stuff.
He's not going to avenge them.
He will punish them.
But they work for him.
You know, people say, well, what about so-and-so?
We don't want to mention names.
People get locked up on names. Doesn't matter. What about so-and-so? We don't want to mention names. People get locked up on names.
Doesn't matter.
What about so-and-so?
We know he's fake.
We know he's phony.
We know he's in it for the money.
You know, what do you think about him?
I think he's a messenger of God.
That's what I think he is.
And naturally, they think you agree with him at first,
and you have to explain to them.
You know, the bible says that in
the end times god's going to send forth his messengers well it says angels but that's what
an angel is is a messenger the angels of the of the church in revelation what were they they were
preachers weren't they and uh so he's going to send forth his messengers those men are gathering
the tares right now. They're not
gathering children of God. Children of God don't want anything to do with it. But what they are
gathering are the people who are greedy and selfish and self-centered and worried about
themselves. They're in it for the money. They're in it for the glory. They're in it for the girls.
They're doing what they're doing because it's what they want to do.
Well, that's the perfect sign that a person has no Christ
in them whatsoever. So, what is it?
They look like people. They look like Christians.
Yeah, just like tares look like wheat. How are we going to separate
tares from the wheat?
Set traps for them?
No, not really.
It's not really a trap.
It's just give them what they want.
What do you do?
What do you bait a trap with
if it's not the favorite food of the animal you're looking for?
And when those people are concerned about themselves and nothing means
anything to them except their healing and their miracles and
their supernatural stuff and all their
silly games they play and the money they make and
the jets and this and that, there are people that are
proud that their favorite evangelist owns six jets.
I just believe a man of God ought to live like that.
Why don't you live like that?
And if he has all this power with God,
then why is he asking you for money?
You know, you don't want to argue with these people.
Look, truth is, those people are doing God's work.
They're out there saying, do you want to have more in life?
You want to be all you can be?
You want to be the best you you can be?
No, thank you, I don't.
You can be what you want to be, have what you want to have.
I mean, wasn't that old reverend ike's uh uh watchword you can
be what you who you want to be and have what you want to have right if that's you i'm your preacher
boy i'm the one you need to send money to me i don't know why they just don't say it out right
now you need my prayer cloth you need my cd set
or you need my teachings on this or that or whatever you need to become a partner you need a
jesus first lapel pin you need some jewelry junk and i'm gonna sell it to you and you wear this and and your daughter, she won't get an abortion. Really?
Really?
Does it bother you at all to lie to these people?
It's so ridiculous.
Dress up in Hebrew garments,
and I think one fellow wrapped himself up in a Torah scroll.
I think there was a handful of Jews that died of a heart attack when that happened.
But, you know, they've got this,
you know, there's power, they're different.
Who are these people after?
They're after the tares.
I say, go for it, baby.
Get them, gather them.
You got 20,000 in your congregation?
Good for you.
You know, you're doing God's work.
Gather the tares. Why? Because it's just about time for the harvest i think it's also interesting that jesus says you know when you root up these tears
you're going to root up some wheat friend it's hard to see your your relative your mom your dad
your best friend that are that are just steeped in this stuff. And when
it's rooted up, and when it all gets picked up, wadded up, thrown up, and bailed up, and thrown
on the truck, it's going to hurt. It's going to be bad. It's going to root us up. It's going to hurt.
But you know what?
More power to them.
Go ahead.
It'd be great if we had twice as many prosperity preachers.
Let's get this thing.
Let's get it over with.
Let's usher in the kingdom of God.
And you can't do that with tares. You can only do that with wheat.
First, gather the tares then the wheat
into my barn that order is very important it is very very important and it's irrefutable
you'll always find the wicked are gathered and the good are left the meek inherit the earth
we inherit the earth and the wicked are taken away and so
you know if you get caught up in the rapture i don't know if that's good news or bad news
i wouldn't doubt if they're not working on manufacturing one right now
with smoking mirrors or whatever they need to do but, there's going to be a lot of people buy into it.
Mm-mm-mm.
All right, he says one's going to be taken and the other left.
The disciples ask, where, Lord?
Where is this going to be?
And he says, where are the eagles gathered?
Aren't they over the corpses of the dead people?
Isn't that where they are?
Why are you asking where are we going to gather all these bodies?
Why are you asking where we're going to gather all these tares?
We go where they are.
That's what we do.
That's what they do.
This isn't a mystery you may not know where the eagles come from in this case he's talking about buzzards you don't know where the buzzards come from or where they're going where they're going
to land but you can bet wherever they land there's probably a dead body there
this is this is so sad all right let's move on to chapter 80.
The parable of the widow and the judge.
Jesus told a parable to his disciples.
To this end that men ought always to pray
and not become discouraged,
saying,
there was in a city a judge which feared not God,
neither regarded man. And there was a widow in that city, and she came unto him, saying,
Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while. But afterward he said within himself, though I fear not God nor regard man,
yet because this widow troubleth me,
I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Friend, I hope you can deal with this.
Well, I'm sorry if you can't.
I'm encouraged if you can.
But frankly, I don't believe that that's the end to which Jesus was speaking here.
I think that he was saying,
not that we should continually ask until we
weary an unjust judge. I can't believe that he
would put our Father God into the category
of an unjust judge.
But in this particular case
he's saying that if an unjust judge who does not fear God nor man
has no axe to grind whatsoever, if this woman keeps on asking him,
he will eventually give her what she wants i want you to know that it can be that you can treat god as an unjust judge
and you don't have really any confidence at all that it is your prayer or his will or anything
else you you may i cannot believe we even weary god with our prayers. I don't think he hears them.
Frankly, I think that as he,
you know, as we try to gain his ear,
perhaps he does hear,
but just because you speak doesn't mean that he hears you.
That's ridiculous.
It's ridiculous to think.
Why does God have all these angels?
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister to those
which shall be heirs unto salvation?
What are they doing?
What are these angels doing?
They're carrying messages.
They're carrying information between this earth and him.
Very selective he is in all these areas.
And we just have him as some kind of a page boy
that comes when we ring a bell.
But Jesus is saying, I want you to know
that he says, hear what the unjust judge saith.
All right, what did the unjust judge say?
Let's back up and look.
He says, though I fear fear not god nor regard man hear what he says does that sound
like your father to you does that sound like your father god to you doesn't to me jesus is refocusing
our attention on what the unjust judge says and then says, And shall not God avenge his own elect
which cry to him night and day,
though he bear long with them?
He's saying, your father is nothing like this judge.
Your father is nothing like this judge
who has no character or cares not a whit about God or man.
He's saying, compare this with your father.
Does your father resemble this man at all?
Absolutely not.
Absolutely not.
So, if you're constantly asking him
over and over and over again,
two things might be true.
One of them is, you've asked a miss.
You've asked outside of the will of god and
you know you you can fix that you can fix that how by keeping his commandments and never disobeying
your conscience and listening for the voice of god every day you can fix that number two
perhaps it's already in the works what was it uh you know that that story that story of Daniel praying and that angel came to him and
says, man, I heard you three weeks ago. I was on my way three weeks ago. I've been hindered.
Daniel could have been praying for 21 days and just wearying the father. And Jesus is saying,
that's unnecessary. Compare yourself to this king. This king doesn't care. Your father cares. This king here
doesn't care about people. Your father cares about you. So it very well could be that you're not
receiving your answer, one, because you ask him, miss, two, because it's on its way. It's in the
works. It's on its way. And it could it could be that you know certain situations have to happen
in such a way that it that it will happen because you know god's got this thing that he does where
he answers a prayer and you have you have the choice of thanking him for it or thanking someone
else or thanking the circumstances or thanking the circumstances. Or thanking the doctor.
Or thanking the bank that gave you a loan or whatever else.
He makes it so that he's able to hide behind his miracle.
And you're forced to give him praise by faith.
He's just so sharp.
He's so intelligent.
I love this guy. All right jesus continues and says
hear what the unjust judge saith and shall not god avenge his own elect which cry on him day and
night though he bear long with him though it takes a long time there's no need to badger him into this. I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
Well, that's different than the judge
that he just laid out up there.
So was he really teaching this to the end
that men ought always to pray
and not become, and the King James says,
and not faint, not become, and the King James says, and not faint, not become discouraged.
Is that really the end to which he was teaching? I don't think that's been translated right, or
there's something we don't understand here. He's not telling us to continue to pray and pray and pray and pray and pray. So what is he saying?
Pray.
And don't become discouraged.
How do I know if I'm discouraged?
Because you're praying about it again and again and again and again,
thinking you're going to weary him like an unjust judge.
Men ought always to pray.
How many times are you going to ask for that?
As soon as it's not manifest in your life,
as soon as it's obvious that it's not manifest in your life,
is it God's duty to try to spleen all this to you?
Or is it your duty to sit down and say,
did I ask outside his will?
Well, if you can even ask that question chances are you did
but perhaps it's in the works i'm just going to trust him on this it might come to the point
where you decide that was just not the will of god for me i ask a miss but to to think that you're
going to wear him down it's it's it's just a ridiculous thought when you think about it.
I can't put that characteristic on God, on our Father.
I just can't do it.
So he says, I tell you, he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless, when the Son of Man cometh,
shall he find faith on the earth?
Man, I think he's saying in no uncertain terms,
that's not faith.
That is not faith to continually ask and ask and ask and ask
and knock and knock and knock and seek and seek and seek,
thinking that you're going to wear him out.
You're not going to wear him out
and that's not faith and when it comes time on the at the end times of the earth
when we need to know what we know pray for what we need to pray for understand that he knows what
we have need of and do this intelligently and logically and sensically.
I think that that's the only way that he's going to find faith on the earth.
You know, you might be one who says, what a silly question.
Will he find faith on the earth?
Well, sure he will.
We're a Christian nation.
We can say Jesus out in public.
We don't have to worry about being crucified for that
we celebrate his birth every year we celebrate his his resurrection every year we have christmas
and easter and we got churches all over the place man the united states is just loaded with faith
what are you looking for obviously something else
alright looking at chapter 81
the parable of the Pharisee and the publican
two men went up to the temple to pray
one a Pharisee and the other a publican
the Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself
I love the way that says that
he prayed thus with himself i love the way that says that he prayed thus with himself god
god i thank thee that i am not as other men extortioners unjust adulterers or even as this
publican i fast twice in the week i give tithes of all that I possess.
And the publican, standing afar off,
would not so much as lift his eyes unto heaven,
but smote upon his breast, saying,
God, be merciful to me, a sinner.
I tell you, this man went down to his house justified,
rather than the other.
For everyone that exalted himself shall be abased,
and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
I don't know what even needs to be added to that story.
That is just, that is amazing that Jesus would publicly and most proficiently
draw a dividing line against the religious who does everything right
and the man who is humble about what he just can't seem to get right
and accept the one that's humble and reject the one that's proud.
Now, when I meet a man that has trouble with what I preach,
and he wants to make some dividing line between faith and works,
and he goes this direction, I say, amen. Amen. You're absolutely right.
This guy had works. This guy had faith. This're absolutely right. This guy had works.
This guy had faith.
This guy had pride.
This guy had humility.
There are two different things here.
And those works aren't going to do him a bit of good whatsoever.
If that's what you're saying about, you know, it's not by works, it's by faith.
I'm with you, buddy.
Me and you are friends.
We believe the same thing but um i i promise you
that a humble man will do what he's told to do the works follow the works just follow um
in chapter 82 it says jesus speaks concerning divorce phar Pharisees came to Jesus testing him.
Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife?
Jesus replied with a question saying,
What did Moses command you?
The Pharisees replied to Jesus saying,
Moses suffered us to write a bill of divorcement.
Put her away.
Jesus replied to the Pharisees,
For the hardness of heart,
he wrote you this precept.
But from the beginning it was not so.
From the beginning the creation God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother,
and cleave to his wife, and they twain shall be one flesh.
So then they are no more twain, but one flesh.
What therefore God hath joined together,
let not man put asunder.
Later, when Jesus was alone with the disciples,
they asked him again about the matter of divorce.
He replied saying,
Whosoever shall put away his wife and marry another,
committeth adultery against her.
And if a woman shall put away her wife and marry another committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband
and be married to another, she commits adultery.
Jesus was real explicit about this.
How do we get this so wrong?
Well, there's a lot of misconception.
There's a lot of misreading of what the Bible says,
and we probably need to talk about this at length.
Let's continue this subject next time
because there's some things you need to know,
and there's some ideas we need to dispense with.
We just need to do something else with these ideas
because they're not doing anything but causing trouble
in the church, in the home, all around us.
It's just causing trouble. So we can
deal with these things and deal with them properly and understand exactly what Jesus has to say and
the people to whom he said it, which is a big portion of what he said. Time is gone. All right,
I'd like to know who you are and where you're from and how you're listening to this show.
