Starting point is 00:00:00 A young Punjabi rapper has just exploded onto the music scene. It's 2017. People are going crazy like who is this guy? Who is this Sidhu guy? He's a fat boy lyricist, he's an amazing performer and he is none other than Sidhu Musiala. He'll become one of the most influential Indian hip-hop artists. I'm looking into the crowd and they're cheering us on. It felt magical anytime I performed with them. It felt magical any time I performed with him. Ready, go, man! Sidhu Mooseala is a voice for a generation of Punjabis. He has huge fan following, you know, an international icon.
Starting point is 00:00:54 But never forgets where he came from. His music, it was crazy. It's the sort of music that caused a big disruption. The topics he chose to touch, some would say, could be the core issues of Punjab. But at the height of Sidhu Moosewala's fame, We've got some breaking news that's coming in right now, firing on Punjabi singer Shubdeep
Starting point is 00:01:18 Sidhu. He's murdered. Sidhu Moosewala was shot dead by attackers. He could not survive that attack. It is riddled with bullets. Multiple rounds seem to have been fired at... Someone told me that Sidhu is no more. At that point, I felt my body numb.
Starting point is 00:01:37 And I literally got goosebumps in my body and started crying. It was kind of like an earthquake and everybody felt it. It really shook the core in you that this is a murder which Punjab will not forget. Who wanted Sidhu Moosewala dead and why? It was not even my wildest of dreams that they could go to that extent and hit Sidhu Moosewala. I'm investigative journalist journalist Ishleen Kaur
Starting point is 00:02:06 and I've spent the last two years trying to find the answers to these questions. Everyone is afraid of this. No one wants to talk. I'm DJ and broadcaster Bobby Friction. Our investigation takes us into a dark and dangerous world. It's not what I was expecting. I wasn't expecting them to send me a claim to a murder.
