Starting point is 00:00:00 With World Radio News, I'm Kent Covington. In France, U.S. Envoys, Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner gathered Tuesday in Paris, along with other allies of Ukraine. They were there to talk about security guarantees for Kiev as part of a possible peace deal with Russia. Whitkoff had one message for Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and others in attendance. President Trump's mandate is that he wants a peace in Ukraine. and we are determined on his behalf to do everything possible to attain that piece. But so far, Moscow has shown no signs of budging from its demands.
Starting point is 00:00:40 A trial is underway in Texas of former police officer Adrian Gonzalez. He was the Uvaldi School Resource Officer accused of not acting against a school shooter at Rob Elementary in 2022. Prosecutors accused Gonzalez of waiting around for backup instead of going in after the active shooter. fourth graders were killed along with two teachers, but Gonzalez's defense attorney Jason Goss argues, the state tried to make you believe was this this insane amount of time that he had to do all of these things. It's about one minute. That's what we're talking about. It's about one minute. So he's trying to get this information, understand it, communicate it. That's one minute of time. Gonzalez is facing dozens of child abandonment and endangerment charges, which could land him up to two years in prison.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Abortion will remain legal in Wyoming after the state Supreme Court struck down two pro-life laws. World's Kristen Flavin reports. The court ruled the laws violated Wyoming's constitution, citing with the state's only abortion clinic and abortion rights groups. The justices said a voter-approved health care amendment gives adults broad authority over medical decisions, even though it was not written with abortion in mind. They added that lawmakers could ask voters to clarify the Constitution. Republican Governor Mark Gordon criticized the ruling and urged legislators to pursue a constitutional amendment. One of the blocked laws would have protected the unborn, except in limited cases. Another would have banned abortion pills. For World, I'm Kristen
Starting point is 00:02:17 Flavin. Wall Street set more records Tuesday as gains in big technology stocks lifted the broader market. The S&P 500 and the Dow both closed at all-time highs, while the NASDAQ also finished higher. About three-quarters of stocks and the S&P 500 gained ground.
