State artificial intelligence laws are under the federal microscope,
as President Trump orders the Attorney General to form a task force to review and challenge them.
Special advisor on AI David Sachs spoke Thursday to reporters.
You've got 50 states running in 50 different directions,
and what we need is a single federal standard.
The executive order does not set out a new standard,
but says state laws should be minimally,
burdensome. It does ask Congress to create a federal standard, saying states that don't comply
could lose some federal grants. Court is now in session. The men accused of shooting Charlie Kirk
made his first court appearance yesterday. He appeared in a dress shirt and tie and shackles. The
judge allowed him to forego prison clothes and told the media to avoid photographing his restraints
in order to prevent biasing potential jurors. So as we begin, the first part,
is we'll begin by addressing the October 14th audio recording.
Utah District Court Judge Tony Graff stopped the live stream
and ordered the public and the reporters out of the courtroom
while he decided what would be sealed during the trial.
The defendant has not yet entered a plea.
Prosecutors have charged him with aggravated murder
and planned to seek the death penalty.
In Washington...
On this vote, the Yeas of 312, the Naser 112.
The bill has passed without objection to motion to reconsider
is laid on table. All eyes are on the Senate now after the House of Representatives advanced
a $900 billion defense spending bill earlier this week. Among other things, the more than
3,000-page bill contains a nearly 4% pay raise for qualifying service members, as well as housing
and facility improvements on military bases. It also serves as a grab bag of sorts of items that
both parties will appreciate. The Trump administration is touting cuts to climate programs and
DEI initiatives, while Democrats praise provisions to increase congressional oversight of the Pentagon.
If the bill passes the Senate, it will advance to President Trump's desk for signature.
And finally, it's been a record-setting year for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
World's Dennis Crowley explains.
FCA officials report the ministry distributed nearly 245,000 Bibles this year,
making it one of the largest Bible distributors in the world.
This year's total is 25,000 more Bibles than last year.
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes Passes Out Bibles at camps and events all over the world.
FCA reaches coaches and athletes from elementary schools to professional sports.
