Starting point is 00:00:00 With World Radio News, I'm Kent Coveington. The Trump administration has hit the pause button on five major offshore wind projects along the East Coast. The Department of the Interior says the pause will allow federal agencies to review whether large wind turbines could interfere with radar or military operations near coastal population centers. Secretary of the Interior, Doug Bergam, said, quote, today's action addresses emerging national security risks. He added that the Pentagon. has flagged some very real concerns that the programs create radar interference that creates a genuine risk for the U.S., particularly related to where they are in proximity to our East Coast population centers. Supporters of the offshore wind projects argue that they already cleared

Nigerian authorities say all remaining students and staff kidnapped from a Catholic school last month have been freed, bringing relief to many families after weeks of fear. Gunmen stormed St. Mary's Catholic school in Niger State last month abducting more than 300 students and teachers. Some escaped soon after the attack. Others were released earlier this month. Police now say the final group of 130 people has been freed

The Heritage Foundation is pushing back on rumors that dozens of employees walked out over the weekend. World's Christina Grubb reports. The conservative think tank spokesman Cody Sargent told World on Monday that only 13 employees left heritage over the weekend, not the dozens being reported. He said two employees were fired for disloyalty and 11 other similarly aligned staffers chose to leave. The same day, former Vice President Mike Pence's advancing American Freedom, a competing conservative foundation, announced that it had hired 13 former Heritage

A car bomb has killed a senior Russian military officer in Moscow, the latest in a string of high-profile attacks inside Russia. Authorities say the officer killed was Lieutenant General Faneal Savarov. He was a top official in Russia's general staff. Russian investigators say they are examining several possible motives and claim Ukrainian intelligence may be involved. The killing marks the third assassination of a senior Russian officer in just over a year. Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, Moscow has accused. accused Kiev of targeting military leaders inside Russia.
