He sat down once again with President Trump today, meeting with him for a seventh time since Trump returned to office. The two leaders were expected to discuss U.S. negotiations with Iran over its nuclear and ballistic missile programs. Trump issued a statement afterwards saying nothing definitive came from the meeting. The Trump administration does plan to continue its negotiations with Tehran.

Meanwhile in Tehran, there were chance of death to Israel and death to America, as demonstrators waved flags to mark the 47th anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Starting point is 00:01:03 January, stronger than economists expected and well above December's softer gain. Crucially, most of the hiring came from the private sector. Healthcare construction and professional services led the way. Manufacturing posted modest growth. The unemployment rate edged down to around 4.3 percent, and wages rose around 3.7 percent compared to a year ago. An Arizona man detained and questioned about the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie has now been released.

Until right now, all I know is that they show my in-law, a picture of somebody wearing a mask or something, and they supposedly look like my eyes. That's all I know. Police released him this morning, marking nearly 10 days since the disappearance of the mother of today's show
Starting point is 00:02:21 co-host Savannah Guthrie. Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell is back home and recovering after an eight-day hospital stay for flu-like symptoms. His office said the longtime former Republican Senate leader checked himself into a local hospital out of caution. Doctors treated the 83-year-old and discharged him on Tuesday. McConnell said he is feeling better and planning to work from home this week. For World Radio, I'm Kent Covington.
