Starting point is 00:00:01 With World Radio News, I'm Kent Covington. President Trump has announced what he called the, quote, single largest deregulatory action in American history. He said that under a process just completed by the EPA, We are officially terminating the so-called endangerment finding, a disastrous Obama-era policy that severely damaged the American auto industry. The EPA rescinded the 2009 finding that classified greenhouse gases as a threat to public health and welfare.
Starting point is 00:00:30 That finding allowed the federal. government to regulate carbon dioxide and other emissions under the Clean Air Act. Trump asserts that finding drove up prices for American consumers, particularly with regard to car prices. Environmental groups call the Trump administration's move reckless, saying it removes a legal basis for many critical climate rules, and opponents have vowed to challenge the change in court. Borders are Tom Homan says the massive immigration enforcement surge in Minnesota is winding down. He announced that thousands of federal agents are being pulled back from the Minneapolis St. Paul area. As a result of our efforts here, Minnesota is now less of a sanctuary state for criminals.
Starting point is 00:01:10 And he said that is thanks in part to more cooperation from Democratic Governor Tim Walls and local authorities. But Governor Walls, for his part, disputes that. He insists nothing has changed about the way his state addresses immigration. My take was they knew they needed to get out of here, but in very Trumpian fashion they needed to save face. The surge of federal immigration agents drew fierce opposition from Democrats in Minnesota and fiery protests. Two people were killed in incidents with federal agents. Meantime, authorities have arrested an Oregon man that prosecutors alleged plotted to
Starting point is 00:01:45 attack and kill ice agents in Portland. Homeland security officials said Raiden Coleman had written a plan that they described as a manifesto, which included the use of Molotov cocktails in a semi-automatic rifle. Police took him into custody last week during a traffic stop after officers said they found materials for making Molotov cocktails in his car. Cuba's currency is plunging to new lows in the island's informal cash market. World's Benjamin Iker has more. One U.S. dollar now buys about 500 Cuban pesos, the weakest on record. That rate is what most people use in daily buying and selling.
Starting point is 00:02:23 The slide reflects deep strain on Cuba's economy. as fuel imports, especially from Venezuela, have dried up. That comes as the U.S. government is pressuring the country's communist regime to implement reforms. Prices for basic necessities keep rising.
