As the showdown over Homeland Security funding continues, Senate Majority Leader John Thune warns that the department is set to shut down next week, that is, unless Democrats negotiate with Republicans about changes to immigration enforcement to reach an agreement on a funding bill. If they actually do want to fund the government, Department of Homeland Security, and we need to, then they need to sit down with the White House and figure out what it is they actually want.

Gunmen killed more than 160 people in the Muslim majority villages of Woro and Noco in Quara State, one of the deadliest assaults outside known conflict zones.
