Starting point is 00:00:01 With World Radio News, I'm Kent Covington. Tornadoes have killed at least two people in northwestern Indiana and leveled buildings in eastern Illinois. In Newton County, Indiana, an elderly couple died in their home in the town of Lake Village. Another resident of that town said the severity of the storm caught her family by surprise. Then we went into the bathroom, got a piece of plywood, and within minutes I closed my eyes. But during that time, we just kept praying in the tub.
Starting point is 00:00:27 We were holding each other, and I was like, this is the way we're going to go. I'm either going to be with the Lord tonight. or I'm going to be able to witness to people tomorrow. And in Illinois, the Konkaki County Sheriff's Office says a tornado caused extensive damage in the town of Aroma Park, uprooting trees, ripping off roofs, and smashing vehicles. In Lebanon, explosions again rocked the suburbs of the capital of Beirut. Israel says the blasts were part of its latest bombardment targeting the Iran proxy terror group, Hezbollah.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, said that since March the 2nd, Lebanese militants have launched, nearly 900 rockets and missiles at Israel. Hezbollah itself has been very clear about why. Not to defend Lebanon, not to protect the Lebanese citizens, but to avenge the death of Ayatollah Khomeini and serve the agenda of the Iranian regime. Danan urged the Lebanese government to exert its own sovereignty and clamped down on Hezbollah. Investigators in Switzerland say they do not believe that a deadly bus fire was tied to terrorism. World's Benjamin Eicher has more.
Starting point is 00:01:34 Police say a passenger started the fire Tuesday evening in the town of Kursars, about 15 miles west of the capital burn. They say the man poured a flammable liquid on himself and set it on fire while the bus was moving. The flames spread quickly through the vehicle. Authorities believe the suspect was a Swiss man in his 60s who had been reported missing by his family. Five other people were hurt, several with serious injuries. officials say there is no sign the attack was tied to terrorism. Investigators are now working to identify the victims and determine exactly how the fire spread.
Starting point is 00:02:11 For a world, I'm Benjamin Iker. A drone strike in southern Sudan has killed at least 17 people, most of them schoolgirls. Local officials say the drone hit a secondary school in a nearby health clinic Wednesday in a village in the White Nile State. Doctors say at least 10 others were wounded, several of them seriously. Medical groups blame the paramilitary group known as rapid support forces, which have been fighting Sudan's National Army for nearly three years. The RSF has not responded to the accusation. Aid groups say the village had no military presence.
