Today, we continue with our series about where added sugars hide in your everyday foods. Today's culprit is sugary cereal. Major cereal brands often market their products as a part of a balanced breakfast, or as being rich in whole grains and fiber. These vague and misleading statements may have led you to believe that breakfast cereals are healthy,
Starting point is 00:00:36 but the reality is that they are full of sugar. According to a study by the NIH, the average sugar content in cereals marketed to children is 26.4 grams of sugar per serving. That is not a healthy way to start your day. Instead, do research to find specialized cereal with six grams of sugar or less per serving. That was today's bit of fit. I'm Emma Weirman on Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.
