Welcome to A Bit of Fit, where we bring you bite-sized bits of health and fitness tips to implement in everyday life.
My name is Emma Weirman, and I like to keep fit, though I am not a certified medical professional.
Please be sure to confer with your doctor before implementing dietary or fitness regimen changes.
Last week, we talked about the sweet poison known as sugar.
This week is the first of a multi-part series in which we talk about where in your foods you may not have realized these added sugars are hiding.
First off, we have beverages like iced tea, lemonade,
fruit juices or energy and sports drinks. A lot of people are already aware of the crazy amounts of sugar in a can of soda,
like a can of Coke, which comes in at 39 grams of sugar. But these other drinks can be just as bad. A 16 ounce can of a Snapple Ice Tea brand's apple juice has 47 grams of sugar in it.
Keep that in mind the next time you reach for your favorite sweetened drink.
That was today's bit of fit. I'm Emma Weirman on Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
