Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to A Bit of Fit, where we bring you bite-sized bits of health and fitness tips to implement in everyday life. My name is Emma Weirman, and I like to keep fit, though I am not a certified medical professional. Please be sure to confer with your doctor before implementing dietary or fitness regimen changes. Today, we're going to be talking about the thing to avoid eating. It's sugar. Whether it be its proven link to causing obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, poor liver health, faster aging, a weakened immune system, and increased risk of anxiety and depression, and even cancer, there's no denying it. Sugar is pretty much one of the worst things you can choose to include in your diet.
Starting point is 00:00:38 The next time you're shopping at the grocery store, start to make it a habit to turn around that food product and take a look at the nutrition facts before you toss it in. Are there added sugars? Avoid eating sugar like you would try to avoid eating poison, because, in a very real sense, that's exactly what it is. That was today's bit of fit.
