Hi, I'm Ariel McDowell here with a word to the wise.
Allegedly, as Americans, we live in a constitutional republic.
This means that if the legislators pass laws we don't like, we can vote them out.
However, especially since Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1930s, that power has been
largely distributed among bureaucrats.
For example, instead of Congress making rules that keep the air clean, they will assign an agency
that responsibility.
That agency then creates as many rules as they feel accomplishes their mandate.
Often these rules can incentivize loophole games overconstructed change.
and you can't vote these guys out.
Over the past decade, federal bureaucratic agencies have averaged 23 rules for every one law
that Congress has passed.
These are most of the rules that constrain your life, like where you can build a fence,
where you can fish, how and where you can start a business.
The only solution is for the Supreme Court to start penalizing delegation violations
at a much stricter threshold than they currently do.
So there's not much we can do.
But anyway, as an American, you should know that's how it works.
Have fun with this information.
