The following is a special presentation of WRFH Sports.
First and 10 at the 25 in Dragon Territory.
Then two whiteouts to his left, two to his right.
As I say it, a little of a crossing pattern on the right side,
he was going right to the post and nobody was anywhere near him.
That's a touchdown and this is a tie ball game out.
Touchdown for the Hillsdale Charger.
Are you ready?
Hillsdale Charger Football on Radio 3 Hillsdale 101.7 FM starts now.
Welcome in to Frank Moneywater Stadium on the beautiful campus of Hillsdale College.
I'm Ted Ferringer alongside me.
The man, the myth, the legend.
Dr. Arr knows him by name, Ty Ruddy.
Folks, the storm of Lake Erie College are coming to town on this military appreciation day.
The Chargers looking to snap their three-game losing streak.
Their turn two and five currently last week.
Ted and Ty, yes, I'm referring to myself in third person.
We're on the call for the 19 to 48 loss to Northwood.
There was some good points.
There was some bad points.
What did you see from last week on the positive side of things that you want to see them repeating this week?
Last week I think for the Chargers, one of the things that made that loss,
so heartbreaking was that it was such a winnable game.
I think the Chargers were able to get Gishu on the ground moving a little bit.
They were able at times to go through the air.
It was just a couple poor mistakes here and there and some bad decision making that led to a brutal loss.
So now we're going to have the National Anthem.
We ask, Nick, please rise.
Gentleman remove your hats and break your attention to the south end of the stadium.
Today, the colors will be presented by the country.
guard of the Hilldale Composite Squadron
of Civil Air Patrol.
Please remain standing for the
special anthem performed by Hillstale
students and love.
Games, your insider's
chief code to gaming. On Tuesday, March
25th, longtime video game news source
Game Informer came back with a
vengeance. The magazine had been around for
over 30 years before its parent company
GameStop shut it down with little
fanfare. Prompting responses from
many decrying the death of an institution
including its editor and chief
Chief Matt Miller.
The thing that came as a shock was the outpouring of support and enthusiasm that came from you as readers and from people around the industry.
That sound from a recent video announcing the return of the gaming magazine.
Purchased by Godzilla Games, this new iteration of Game Informer is promised editorial independence,

What is Radio Free Hillsdale?
Radio Free Hillsdale is political commentary.
I will do the news.
I will cover everything like I've got lots of guests coming up today.
Cultural discussion, music, interviews, and much more.
Remember to tune in to Radio Free Hillsdale 101.7 FM.
The best college radio station in town.
That was one of the best national anthems, I think I've ever witnessed.
Really well done there from Hoover Talented Hillsdale College student, but now.
Back to Footman.
ball. Now, there's a lot of
festivity on the field,
but we actually have an aircraft
flying over for the second week in a row.
Come on. I don't even know what it was.
It looks like a
it's kind of, it looks like an old school
World War II bomber, but it's
missing a lot of the parts that you'd see
in a traditional plane. Yeah, it was
it looked like, you're right, it did look like
a World War II bomber, but it was
maybe it was a modern update or something.
Yeah, I mean, that's D2 football.
I think we're the only school in the country to get flyovers.
Especially from that kind of plane.
Second week in a row, we get a plane flying over Frank Moneywater Stadium.
Now with all of that, really cool lead up to the ball game, we're going to, well, witness some football here pretty soon as the captain's walk out to flip the coin to see who's going to receive.
to start out this
matchup. Now,
beautiful day overall. I mean,
I'm looking at the view right now.
It's about 50 degrees in sunny.
A lot of the trees and the
landscape are changing colors.
The quintessential, Michigan
afternoon for some football.
Little chilly. I'm glad I'm up here
with the heater. But yes, back
to the matchup, we got the storm.
They're one and six as well. So two
squads having, you know,
not the best seasons, but
But you got to keep an eye on the storm, too.
They've got a talented offense led by Brady Clark at Eastern Kentucky Transfer.
Their lone win this season comes against Thomas Moore.
And then on the other side of the ball, you have Hillsdale, 2 and 5,
yet they brought the number 15th ranked team in D2 on the ropes.
And they lost 16 to 14.
And I think a lot of people would say two weeks ago,
they should have won that ball game on October 11th.
Colin Morrow with a huge interception and then a pickup of a fumble recovery in the end zone.
So it looks like Lake Erie is going to start with the ball.
The Chargers deferred to the second half.
Really curious to see what this squad's response is from a rather disappointing defeat last.
home defeat last week against Northwood.
And, you know, also, too, I will add, as the teams are grouping up on their respective 30s,
we'll see how the refs are this week, because last week we had.
So a little bit of inconsistency, especially on some of the defensive calls.
And it went a little bit both ways, but there was some past interference calls that we thought were questioned.
Well, I very, very penalized game last week.
There was at one point where one of the squads was at the seven, seven yards to score a touchdown,
and they ended up on the fourth down.
They ended up being 26 yards back.
And that's one thing to keep in mind for the Chargers too is one of the things we keep hearing from the players is discipline, discipline,
they've shot themselves in the foot so many times this year with bad plays,
but they've also shot themselves in the foot so many times this year with just bad mental mistakes.
So they're definitely looking this week to play a discipline game.
and do their part to keep the game as clean as possible.
So Jordan Westridge to kick this one away for the Chargers,
then Northern Arizona Transfer back deep for the storm is Curtis Thomas standing at his own five.
Westridge trouts up to the ball and kicks it,
and we're underway here at Frank Muddywater Stadium.
It's a touchback to start the ball game.
And on comes.
Brady Clark of Lake Erie and Company.
Well, we were notified up in the box that Lake Erie's Storm is playing a little bit of a cat and mouse game with the Chargers,
not really specifying who the starter is.
They said they were going to have Renty Martin as the quarterback,
and as expected, Brady Clark turned out on the field.
So now my program has, instead of Brady Clark, on the abridged projected starter section,
says Martin, which is the incorrect quarterback.
So here we go. Clark, standing at his own 20, balls at the 25.
Mosley in the back field with him.
Three receivers to the nearest side, one to the far.
Clark, back to pass, intended for Mosley out in the flat, batted down by Drake Badger.
Best part of this Hillsdale team, I think, on paper is the defensive line.
The defensive line has played like absolute monsters this whole year.
Sacks against Finley.
Yeah.
Monster game against Finley.
He kept Hillsville in the game.
So here we go.
Second down in 10.
Storm still at their own 25.
Likin's showing blitz.
He backs off.
Brady in the gun gives it to Mosley running right
and he gets up to the 26-yard line.
So it's going to be third down and long for the storm.
You mentioned a second ago how talented this defensive line is.
They're actually number three in the GMAC despite the record,
despite all the woes this year.
They're number three in the GMAC in terms of stacks.
So they're definitely looking to this defensive line for some help today.
So third down in nine, Storm at their own 26.
Brady in the gun, Mosley to his left.
One receiver to the far side, two to the near.
1423 left in the first quarter.
Brady, looking right, now left.
Claps, back to pass, looking right, throws, and it's caught at the 45.
And he's wrestled down by Ryan Nixie at the 46-yard line.
A little contested grab there.
And it looks like Johnson's going to come down with it.
And Clark delivered a dart, too.
They brought a corner blitz off the end.
And he's able to stay in the pocket and deliver an absolute strike for about a gain of 15 yards.
Fresh set of downs in the first conversion for the storm in this ballgame.
First down in 10.
Storm at their own 47.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his right.
Two receivers to the far side, one to the near.
It's a give to Mosley up the middle, and he battles his way to the 48-yard line,
has two or three linemen trying to push him even further.
So he's going to get one on the play.
It's going to set up a second down in nine from the storm 48.
So far, the storm have been taking a lot of time off the clock.
I think this is a game for them that,
They're going to have to have a huge time of possession to keep this charger offense off the field and really tire out this charger defense.
Clark looking towards the sideline to get the play.
Now he's back in the gun, Mosley in the backfield with him.
Second down in nine, Storm at their own 48.
Clark give to Mosley, running right, he's to the 50, 45, chopped down at the 40 by Ryan Nixie, but not after a first down.
and Lake Erie is on the march here, converting on their second first down of the game.
And they are eating time, but they're back to the line quick.
Now they're speeding up the tempo.
Clark in the gun, Mosley 2 is left.
Three receivers in the game.
One to the far side, two to the near.
12-15 left in the first quarter.
Lake Erie nothing.
Hillsdale, nothing.
Now they're slowing down the tempo again.
It looks like they audible a little bit.
Clark in the gun, mostly to his right still.
Clark back to pass, looking down the middle of the field.
Now he's got some pressure.
He's going to roll out to his left.
Trying to outrun Panola and Ponola brings him down at the 39-yard line.
Luke Panola out of Zinesville, Indiana, had an offer to wrestle at Purdue.
Ended up opting for the Hillsdale College Core Curriculum,
and he came up here to play some ball.
That'll set up a set up.
second down and eight.
After that great play from the sophomore.
Two receivers to the far side, two to the near.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his right, motion from Johnson.
Little miscommunication here on the near side receiver core.
Clark gives it to Mosley.
Running right, he has a nice hold of the 35, down to the 32.
Tackled by Jacob Vance, the captain of...
discharge your defense but again
Mosley has some
really nice running room so far
early in this ball game and Lake Geary
doing a really nice job of countering
the Hillsdale defense because Hillsdale
is playing with a bunch of blitzes
they're showing different coverages pre-snap
and it looks like maybe that's the cause of most of these
audibles and Lake Geary's matching that
so that sets up a third down in two balls at the
charger 33 Clark in the gun
Mosley 2 is right
motion from Johnson from right to left
No, he's going to go back to the right. Clark rolls out to his right. It's a quarterback run all the ways to the 30 and down at the 26 yard line.
Great play call there from Lake Erie.
Excellent play call and excellent execution by the running back there and Clark who just put his hand on the back.
Put his hand on the back and when you need two yards, follow a blocker, get the two yards, go down, especially if you're a quarterback.
He's a quarterback run all the way outside the tight end.
and Mosley is a good lead blocker there
and it was an easy conversion for the storm
first down in 10 the storm driving
the charger 26
Clark in the gun three backs in the back
filled with him it's give to Mosley up the middle
and he burst forward down to the 21 yard line
so a first down in 10 you get five
yards on a run to start
you know a new set of chains
and you're in business
five yards
Lake Erie will take that all day.
We have the same formation as last time.
Two fullbacks in the backfield with Mosley and Clark.
Second down in five.
Lake Erie at the Charger 21.
Clark, give to Mosley running right.
He's to the 20.
And hit down at the 18-yard line.
Maybe got one or two on the play.
It's going to set up a third down-in-short.
And Mosley's got a nice burst, and he's really good at picking up a few extra yards on the second
effort, every play. Nick Mosley,
510, 208 pounds senior.
It may be small, but he's really running well
on this opening drive for the storm. Clark in the gun,
Mosley to his right. It's a third down in two.
The storm in Charger territory at the Charger 18.
Motion from Johnson from right to left. It's a give to Mosley running left.
Looking for a block, cuts it up at the 20.
And hit down by Jensen at the 16-yard line. There's a flat.
on the field.
Flag lying at the Charger 21.
Illegal formation, five minutes of backfield on the offset.
That's a five-year-old penalty.
Third down.
An illegal formation is going to back up the storm, and this may be a chance for the chargers
to take a breath and stop this efficient opening drive for Lake Erie.
So let's try that again.
Instead of a third and two, it's going to be a third and three.
Seven.
I'm thinking if you're Lake Erie here, just run it twice.
You've been running it so well already.
Clark in the gun, mostly to his right.
Three receivers in the game, two to the near side, one to the far.
820 left in the first quarter.
Clark, back to pass, looking left.
Now back to the right.
He's flushed, and he's going to try to run out of the pocket.
Now he's directing traffic.
Has an open-in-down field, and it's intercepted by Colin Morrow at the 25.
and he's hit down at the 32-yard line.
And the defensive leader for the Chargers
is going to put some momentum in this Charger crowd.
Wow, he's having a good season.
Colin Morrow has been a solid rock in that sometimes shaky Hillsdale secondary
and they're able to get the pick on third down
to set these Chargers up for their first,
Offensive possession. Let's see what they do with it.
So Moro had about a 10-yard return after the interception, so Chargers are going to start the opening drive at their own 34.
McCarne in the gun. Gishu to his left, two receivers to the far side.
McCurnan, back to pass, throws to Ruddy out in the flat, and he's immediately hit down at the line of scrimmage.
That's going to set up a second down in 10.
They were broomfield for no gain on point of second.
No gain.
Really nice coverage there from the Lake Erie secondary.
There was no motion on that flat route.
So when you got a guy just standing stationary to try to throw it to him quick,
there's no way to create space.
McCurnet in the gun, Gishu to his left.
It's a give to Ruddy running right.
He's to the 35, makes a cut, and he's up to the 40.
Nice gain from the junior.
And he gets to the 40-yard line.
And we were having dinner with some of these players the other night.
We heard something interesting about what Hillsdale decided to do with their offense this week.
They took out about 95% of their motion is what I heard.
And so just to simplify the offense a little bit, maybe get back to basics.
I'm not going to see a lot of that jet motion that we've seen from Hillsdale in the past.
McCurnan, in the gun, Gishu 2 is right.
Davis and Ruddy to the near side.
Carrico to the far side.
Third down and four.
Chargers at their own 40.
McCurnan, back to pass, looking, looking caught by Ruddy at the 45, and he burst forward to the into Lake Erie territory down to the 47-yard line.
First down, Chargers.
And a quick conversion from the Chargers, and they're off and running here.
Carrico checks out, Connor Pratt checks in.
Hillsdale, I think this week, is going to really look.
to Carico and Shea for some of those long gains that they've seen the past couple years,
but haven't quite been able to break so far this year.
First down in 10.
Chargers in Storm territory at the Storm 47.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu 2 is right.
McCurnan, back to pass.
Looking, looking.
He's going to run.
He's to the 45, makes a move at the 46.
And he gets hit down at the 37-yard line.
I say it every game, but I think it deserves to be said every game.
Colin McCurnan is a tough runner.
He's not a very big guy.
Just 6-1-195, sophomore out of Brighton, but runs like he's Josh Allen.
I saw him slide two times last game.
I was shocked.
Colin McCurnet is a dual threat for the Chargers, and it's helped them out so far this season.
McCurnet in the gun, Gishu and Ruddy in the backfield with him.
It's a first down in 10 at the Storm.
37 McCarney gives to Gishu. He's running right, makes a move, stutter steps, and he gets down to the 35-yard line.
We've already seen a little bit. I mentioned that Hillsdale took out their motion this week,
but on that play we had Gishu on the cross, coming across Colin, and then Shea actually ran with McCurnin to the left side after they handed it off to Gishu.
I'm wondering if they're going to go to a little bit of option today, which is something they haven't tried a lot this year.
McCurnan in pistol, Gishu to his right, Caracone ready to the far side, scura to the near side.
It's a second down in eight through at the Lake Erie 35.
Quarterback keep to the right and he smacked down in the backfield.
At the 40, no, excuse me, 36-yard line.
That play was going nowhere for the Chargers.
McCurnan immediately hit after pulling it.
And it's a third down in long.
Third down in nine for the Chargers.
They're at the Storm, 36.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu to his left, Scurra to the near side.
Carricko and ready to the far side.
413 left.
First quarter.
McCurnan, back to pass, looking towards Scura, caught by Scurr at the 30.
And he burst forward down to the 21-yard line.
Nice conversion there from the Chargers.
And they're in the red zone to try to break.
this zero zero deadlock.
McCurnan.
He's in the gun, Gishi to his right,
ready to the nearest side,
Caracone Skir to the far side.
First down in 10.
They're at the Lake Erie 22.
Corner blitz showing from Lake Erie.
McCurney back to pass, looking left,
and he's hitting the backfield,
and he goes down.
That Lake Erie D-line gets to the sophomore from Brighton,
and it's going to make it second down,
and long for the charger offense.
A 5-yard loss on the play.
A 5-yard loss is going to make it second down in 15.
Chargers at the Lake Erie, 27, Lake Erie nothing, Hillsdale Nothing.
Carrickone, ready to the far side, scurro to the near side.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu, 2 is left.
McCurnan rolls left, throws out to Ruddy, who's wide open at the 20.
He makes one man miss at the 18 and converts on the first down.
Gets all the way to the 11 shades of Ottawa Lake Whiteford football right there.
A really nice job in space there by Shea and props to Colin for getting it out to him on the run.
But catching it wide open and making a man miss, working on the sideline,
able to put it down near the red zone.
And the classic 1v1 and Ruddy made him whiff.
So first down and 10, Chargers at the Lake Erie 11.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu to his left to give Gishu running right.
And he gets hit by a crew of Storm at the 10.
And already, I'm noticing a little bit.
Ted, you can let me know what you think.
I'm noticing a little bit of a difference in their game plan this week.
They're moving a little bit quicker.
They're going to the air a little bit more.
But it's good to keep in mind that they've had Gishu in the backfield as a workhorse.
this whole year so they can turn to him when they need to.
Only a gain of one on that play, but definitely
expect them to go back to the ground with Gishu.
Second down in nine, Chargers
at the Lake Erie 10, 150 left in the first quarter.
McCurnan in the gun.
And he fakes a pitch to Gishu and runs right and he's
going to score.
And he's fired up, but there's a penalty marker
lying at the eight-yard line.
It was a fake pitch to Gishu and McCurnan scampered right.
And the tied end, Carson Slocum is going to be penalized with a holding call
and it's going to back the Chargers up big time.
It's a sort of mistake we've seen game in, game out this year.
After a really nice drive, something like that could be a drive killer.
So instead of seven points,
The Chargers are going to be backed up all the way to the Lake Erie 21.
Second down in 19.
143 left in the first quarter.
Metzger endured to the far side.
Kerriko to the nearest side.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishi to his left.
Corner blitz shown from Lake Erie.
McCurnan looking towards Caracol.
It's caught by Caracol at the 15.
Spin move down to the 10-yard line.
and the Owensboro native
cuts some of the penalty
yardage back.
We have a secondary player on Lake Erie
claiming that Carico fumbled it
and went sprinting out to the Hillsdale H at Knitfield
and the referee said cut that out and took the ball away from him.
Third down in 10 after that nine-yard reception from Carico.
Ball spotted at the Lake Erie.
3.11. Chargers
trying to
score the first touchdown of the game.
McCurnin in the gun. Kishi to his left.
McCurnan, looking left.
Now he's going to roll left to the 15.
Makes a man move.
Miss at the 10.
And he's down by the one-yard line.
What a run by Colin McCurnum.
And McCurnan converts on the third in 10.
And Carricko
and a reception from Carico
and a run from McCurton
is going to erase that Slocum mistake.
It looked like there was a little bit of confusion
with the routes, the receivers in the end zone,
cross pads a little bit,
and McCurnan said, fine, I'll do it myself.
I formation, McCurnan under center,
Gishu in the backfield.
It's first down and goal at the one.
And it's a tush push and a touchdown for the Chargers.
And with 17 seconds left
in the first quarter,
Hillsdale scores.
Hillsdale 6, Lake Erie, nothing.
We'll see if a Dario extra point will make it seven.
Special teams have been a problem this year for the Chargers.
To hold for the kick is Ryan Skirt.
A kick is the Dario and Neil Likens to snap.
Snap, good, hold good.
Kick is up and it's.
good. Hillsdale 7, Lake Erie, nothing. You're listening to Charge Your Football right here on 101.7,

But the app's other features, such as broadcasts, channels, and status updates have grown in

Welcome back to Frank Muddywater Stadium on the campus of Hillsdale College.
If you're just tuning in, Chargers take a 7-0 lead over Lake Erie College after Interstate.
reception from Colin Mulrow and it led to a Colin McCurnan and company drive down the other end of the field and that's where we're at through nearly the entirety of the first quarter.
On the receiving team, number zero. That's a 10-yard file from the spot. Pushout. And the Jordan Westridge kick fielded by Thomas out to the charger 30.
is going to be backed up because of a holding call.
So Brady Clark and company are going to trot out, trot on out to try to cut into this seven point deficit.
And the second drive for the storm starts at their own 15 yard line.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his left, two receivers to the far side, one to the near.
Clark, give to Mosley running right.
He has a little bit of room.
He's to the 15, makes him end, miss, and there's another penalty flag on the field.
as Mosley's thrown down at the 15-yard line.
The markers line at about the 14-yard line.
Personal foul, face mask on the defense number 59.
Up to 15-yard penalty, first down.
And a face mask on the Chargers is going to give the storm a 15-yard gain.
And it's going to put the ball out to...
The 32-yard line.
I believe the guilty party was Hudson Jones.
Well, that's the end of the first quarter.
Hillsdale College leads Lake Erie 7-0.

Welcome back to Frank Muddywater's Stadium.
I'm Ted. He's tied. Chargers lead.
Lake Erie Storm, 7 to nothing.
Second down in two for Brady Clark and company at their own 40-yard line.
1436 left in the second quarter.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his left.
Three receivers to the nearest side.
Nope.
Now motion across the field.
It's going to make it two to the far side, one to the near.
Clark, back to pass, looking right.
Throws, caught at the 45 and hit out of bounds by Ryan Nixie and Jonah Jensen.
But not after a first down for the storm.
Reception by Kishon Johnson on the play.
That first quarter really flew by rather quickly, just a lot of running for both teams.
Both teams trying to eat up as much clock as possible.
Clark in the gun.
Mosley, two is left.
Two receivers to the far side, one in the near.
It's a first down in 10 at their own 45.
Lake Erie trying to cut into this seven-point deficit.
And Mosley's hit at the line of scrimmage by Jake Badger and Evan...
Drake Badger and Evan Beannick.
Excuse me, I'm mispronouncing a lot of names.
Evan Beannick's having a nice season.
The sophomore from Virginia Beach.
Brady Clark in the gun.
He really wants the ball.
He clapped about 100 times.
He throws it out in the flat to Mosley,
and he gets up to the 49-yard line.
Hit out of bounds by Jensen and Ryan Nixon.
Again, it's going to set up a third down in about six.
Near midfield.
It looked like the storm wanted to speed up tempo there
to try to catch the Chargers sleeping.
Clark in the gun.
Mosley, motions out in the backfield.
Now he's out in the far side.
Four receivers out there, one to the airside.
Clark, empty set.
Back to pass.
Looking right, throws incomplete.
Jacob Vance on the QB hurry.
Kishon Johnson could not reel in the pass
and on Trots the Storm punt unit.
A brilliantly executed blitz there by the Hillsdale defense.
Russ 2
And Vance just had a whole

So maybe Shea Ruddy can do something magical here
Lake Erie punter
Standing at his own 35
It's fielded by Ruddy and it's fair caught at the 20
Batten did a good job of getting that punt
before Jacob Vance was able to block it.
So here we go.
Part 2 of the Charger offense.
It's their second drive in the first half.
They'll be starting it at their own 20.
Oh, man.
Talk about a flurry of activity, but you've got a pickleball
turning behind the stadium here.
It's rather robust.
It is parents weekend at Hillsdale College.
Lots of events today.
McCurnin and the gun, Gishu, two is right,
ready to the far side, stand to the nearest side.
It's giving him to the Gishu up to the middle.
He has some space, and he gets hit down at the 26-yard line.
I thought he was going to break it there.
He had one man to beat, and he had a lot of green in front of them.
Ressled down there, about five yards.
With about a six-yard game, brings up second and four.
second down in

McCurton and the Charger offense

Touchdown!
Chargers!
So Hillsdale really mixing up their offensive scheme this week.
It seems like they're going to the air more so than they had been.
And it's paying dividends.
Shea Ruddy, gone on that play.
I noticed right before that play,
the Lake Erie, the storm was playing their safeties very close to the linebackers.
They had nobody behind like a 15-yard post route,
and that's exactly where they threw it.
Dylan Didario.
To make this a 14 point lead for the Chargers.
Skir to hold, lichens to snap.
Snap, good, hold is up, and kick is, it's good.
Chargers 14, Lake Erie nothing.
There's a penalty marker at the 1.
It'll be deferred by the Chargers as it was a defensive line
and in the neutral zone.
But man, oh man, I sometimes, when I'm on YouTube,
when I should be doing homework,
I turn on some Christian McCaffrey highlights from the good old Stanford days,
and you can't help to see some similarities between him and Che Ruddy.
I have to agree with you, yeah.
This dude can play Division I won football.
I think you're probably right.
I think he's got the talent to do it,
and I'm glad that he'll still using him more a little bit this week.
A bit of a frustrating season for Ruddy,
but not on that play.
He just dusted the Lake Erie Storm.
I mean, as I've said before, I've been, well, I mean, we've had two Notre Dame excursions.
And I see these football guys up close, you know, during the player walks on the field.
It seems if you're at, if you're 5, 10, 5, 11, 200 pounds, you need to be running in the 4th to be D1.
I mean, that seems to be the benchmark.
Right.
Westridge to kick this one away, Chargers lead, Lake Erie, 14 to nothing.
Tut Carrico told me over lunch on Friday.
that one tenth of a second is three yards.
Wow.
Fielded by Johnson at the three.
He's running left, has some room to the 25.
Makes another man miss, and he's finally dragged down at the 32-yard line.
One-tenth of a second is a three-yard difference.
And Carrico is one of those players for the Chargers, too,
that definitely might even have a little bit more of the size.
than Shade to play D1 and he's
got the speed for sure.
He said he's not fast enough. He told me
he's not fast enough. Okay.
He's running low, four
fives. Probably now.
Wow, that was a really bad voice crack.
I apologize to whoever's
running to board. That was ugly. The benchmark
is something for four, especially if you
don't have crazy size.
Clark John Mosley to his right,
two receivers to the nearest side, one to the far.
Clark back to pass. Has a wide open.
down the field incomplete. Paul falls aimlessly down to the charger 45.
Clark liked that beam route up the middle to number 19.
It looked sort of like a jump pass and overthrew him.
Had a lot of green in front of them.
What about at least a 15-yard gain?
But falls in.
Second down for the storm.
They're trying to respond after this shi-ruddy magic.
A couple minutes ago, Chargers lead, Lake.
Erie, 14 to nothing, 1147 left in the first half.
Clark in the gun, Mosley two left, two receivers to near side, one to the far up to Mosley, running right, he's to the 30.
And he needs a wall of charge.
And gets back to the line of scrimmage.
Third down and 11.
For the Chargers.
Excuse me, for Lake Erie.
Time to win.
Time to make it wild.
Third in a Walmart parking lot.
Hillsdale has had some trouble getting off the field this year.
Gordon Longs.
Let's see what they can do here.
Can they gone mostly to us left, two receivers to the far side.
The near.
Clark, scanning the line.
On 11 yards ago, Clark, back to pass.
Throws, income.
Intended for the far-ride, far-side receiver.
and it looked like the ball was bad at the line of scrimmage or that
or Clark's arm was hit as he was throwing it.
It looked like Clark got hit when he was throwing it.
He threw it a little bit wide of the mark.
William Betton comes on for the storm to punt this one away.
Fourth down 114.
Lake Erie at their own 31.
Baton standing at the storm 16 yard line.
Shee ready for the charger, standing back deep at
His own third five, low snap, and the punt bounces at the charger 45.
So not a good punt for Lake Erie.
Tough break for the storm, setting the charges up with pretty good field position.
Third drive of the game, let's see if they can keep some of that momentum going.
Just $5 to go play in the bounce houses.
Man, that's a steal.
I think that's new this year.
Do you want to go there for half time?
We have a new quarterback in the game.
It's Eli Boyce is in the backfield with Ruddy and Gishu.
It's a keep with Eli Boyce.
He makes a nice cut at the 45, and he gets up into Lake Erie territory down at the 47-yard line.
He'll still really experimenting this week.
some offensive schemes, even some, this double tailback formation,
haven't seen much of that at all this year.
He'll still trying something new and it seems to be working so far.
Boyce is still in the game.
Sophomore from Holland, Michigan, Gishu in the backfield with him.
It's second down and two.
They're at the Lake Erie 47.
They give to Gishu running left.
He's trying to look for a block.
Very patient running for the freshman from Texas.
And he gets back to the line of scrimmage.
Looked up a little bit like Steelers Levy on Bell on that play.
Sort of shuffling at the line of scrimmage waiting for something to open up.
Hillsdale making some substitutions.
Carrico back in the game for Tida and Carson Slocum.
Third and three.
Third down in three, four.
No, third down and two.
You're a bad influence.
Third down and two for the Chargers.
Boyce in the gun.
Gishu to his left.
It's a quarterback keep all the way, and it's our first down for the Chargers.
And this new quarterback is adding a nice dimension with the legs.
Substitutions en masse, en masse for Hillsdale.
And, man, I mean, Chargers taking their sweet old time,
and we're already under nine minutes left in the second quarter.
border. Boyce in the gun, Gishu to his left, ready to the far side. Carico to the near.
Boyce, back to pass. It's a double move from Carrico, and it's caught. F. 11. Touchdown.
Five, touchdown.
Kerrico makes the sign of the cross and says, yes, sir.
Absolute dominance from the sophomore from Owensboro.
He dominated that play like organic chemistry.
Shout out to Tut Keriko got 100% on his ecology test.
Wow, he's having a good week.
They make him different.
They know it's true.
Dylan Jadario to kick.
Academic weapon.
Scuro to hold, Likens to Snap.
847 left in the second quarter.
Snap good, hold good.
Kick is up and it's good.
Charge him.

Back to the ball game.
First down at 10 for Lake Erie at their own 32.
It's to give to Mosley running right.
He makes a stiff arm, and he's up to the 38-yard line.
nice job there jona jensen getting past the stiff arm and bringing down moseley at the 37 yard line now dr hutchinson

Clark in the gun, Mosley in the backfield with him.
He's going to throw out to Mosley in the flat at the 30, and he's hit down at the 31-yard line.
That was Scott Eaton.
Scott Eaton.
Sophomore for the Chargers, he's got the biggest shoe game on campus.
I mean, this guy coordinates his shoes with his shoe.
shirts, with his sweatshirts, with his backpack.
He's part of the scooter gang, too.
It's part of that crew, always riding scooters around town.
They, sophomore out of Cincinnati, able to make the tackle there.
Here we go.
Third down in seven for Lake Erie.
They're at their own, 32.
Clark in the gun, mostly two is right.
Three receivers to the far side, one to the near.
Clark back to passes the throtton.
Mosley in the flat, but it falls incomplete at the 28-yard line.
Heavy pressure there on Brady Clark from Injori.
And William Batten is going to trot on here to pump this one away for Lake Erie's storm.
I'm really curious to see if we get an email back from Dr. Hutchinson.
Dr. Hutchinson repost us on Twitter.
I know you have a Twitter account, 101.7.
Spread the word.
It as always, we appreciate any listener that we can get.
Baton to punt this one away.
Ruddy's standing at his own 35.
And he's initially in it for 35.
He's got room.
He's going to go.
He's got room.
50.
One man to beat.
It's the punter.
See a later.
Touchdown Chargers.
There's going to be a blindside block at the 50-yard line.
Shea Ruddy's going off right now.
And it's coming back for probably...
No.
Seventh time this year.
And the kid last year who was leading D2 in all purpose yards at one point ended up being top three in the nation.
The blind side block on a return team number 30 to 15 yard penalty.
First down.
And instead of a punt return and instead of a 60 yard magical run there from Ruddy,
now they're going to be backed up to the charger 30.
And penalties continue to affect this charger season.
So we'll see if the chargers can keep this offense rolling and wipe that mistake.
Clean off the board.
648 left in the second quarter.
McCurnin and the gun, two receivers to the nearest side, one to the far.
It's a give to Gishi running left.
He makes one man miss.
Breaks a tackle out to the 37-yard line.
And it'll set up a second down in three for the Chargersdale.
21, Lake Erie nothing.
They're looking to add to this 21 point lead.
McCurnan and the gun, Gishu to his left.
Davis and Metzger to the far side.
Skir to the nearest side.
McCurnan, in the gun, give to Gishu, and he runs up the middle,
and he's going to get a first down out to the 41-yard line.
I'm still waiting for that Dr. Hutchinson email.
Maybe we're, was he mentioning something else?
Monroe County.
Monroe County.
Dr. Hutchinson and I both hail from Monroe County.
Oh, he is listening because I mentioned your brother, Ottawa Lake Whiteford.
Right.
Yes.
Dr. Hutchinson, pass us along to my Dr. Smith.
McCurn, in the gun, Gishu, two is left, three receivers to the far side.
to give to Gishu running right.
He makes a move at the 40 down at the 46-yard line.
Do you know when you get into the ecosystem of Professor Twitter accounts?
I can't say ever done that.
This is a thing.
I've never seen...
I am very updated in the Twitter world of Hillsdale College professors.
Maybe I should be.
McCurman and in the gun.
He's running right.
Gishu was on.
the lead blocker. He makes a move with the
45 and hit out of bounds
at the 42 yard line.
So I just got
confirmation here from a
an onlooker that
Dr. Hutchinson
is here in person.
Which is sort of what I figured.
He knows that we're both from
but grew up about, I grew up
about seven miles from about
Oh, that would make sense. So he emailed you.
Yeah. I don't have his number
so he just emailed me. I see.
Yeah. But we appreciate the support nonetheless.
First down in 10.
McCurnan in the gun, give to Gishu up the middle,
and he gets across to the 37-yard line.
Chargers are going to try to get back that 60-yard mistake from the block in the back.
And they're moving along pretty.
well right now. McCurnan
in the gun. Gishu to his left.
Two receivers to the far side
in Carrico and Ruddy.
Pratt to the near side. It's the second down
in five. They're at the Lake Erie, 37.
Give to Gishu running right. He cuts
at the 38 and down
at the 33-yard
line.
Third down and one for the Chargers.
3-44 left in counting
in the second quarter.
Hillsdale 21, Lake Erie nothing.
And Chargers are taking their time.
Again, as I've said so far, this game has just basically just disappeared.
I mean, the first and second quarters have just chugged along.
I see the same.
Rather quickly.
A little bit of motion.
McCurnin, under center, motion from Reddy.
It's a play action.
He's looking for Reddy across the middle.
And it's, he's sacked in the backfield.
And it's picked up by Lake Erie defensive lineman.
And he's going to go all the way.
Touchdown Lake Erie.
A defensive lineman stripped McCurton and another storm member ran it all the way down the field.
And another touchdown wiped off the board by a terrible special team's mistake from Hillsdale.
It is like clockwork this year.
storm lining up for the extra point here.
The extra point.
Two possession gain is going to try to cut into this 21 point deficit.
Hillsdale 21.
Lake Erie's 6.
Believe it was number 78.
Batty is on to kick the extra point and it's good.
53 was the one that.
Jalen Joyce, we do not have people up here pointing out who this people are.
So I have to sift through all these packets.
Jalen Joyce.
went just sprinting down the side.
That was a really fast defensive lineman.
He was moving for a big boy.
He picked the ball up around midfield and went just humming along to the end zone.
5-11-264.
He was moving like a receiver.
I mean, my goodness.
And a little bit of life here is added back in for Lake Erie.
And a special team's mistake changes the game from a 28-0 to a 21-7 ball game.
It's the little things.
Still two possessions.
Batten to kick this one away.
Ruddy and Metzger back deep to receive.
Metzger standing at the Charger 10.
Ruddy at the Charger 5.
And he's going to find it here.
He's received.
Ruddy receives it at the Charger 10.
He has some room and a burst of speed.
He's to the 40.
Makes the kick and miss a foot.
50, 30, 20, 15, 10, 5.
Touchdown Chargers.
No flags.
Ball never lies.
And the Chargers.
And Shea Ruddy, get back to seven points that were lost on the punt return a few minutes ago.
I've said it before, and I'm going to stick to it.
I think the kick return is the most electric play in college football.
And what a response from the Hillsdale game.
Chargers on that play.
And redemption from number one.
And Dylan Dadario
to make it 28.
Likens to Snap,
scurra to hold.
Dadario standing at the Charger, 14.
Snap, good, hold good.
Kick is up.
And it's good.
Hillsdale, 28, Lake Erie 7.

at the old ball game to frank moneywater stadium filled by thomas at the five he makes a nice cut he's to the 30 makes a man fall down at the 32 and he's finally hit down by metzger at the 45 it's a just special teams race today so lake here he responds with a pretty good punt return of their own up to the 45 a really nifty move by thomas at the 32
Two sent a charger just fumbling.
Man, nothing like watching a guy get his ankles broken.
It's a hard watch, but you love to see it every time.
So Lake Erie, they're down 27 to 28 to the Chargers,
but a nice return there from Thomas gets him out to their own 43.
Clark back to pass.
Play actions got a man downfield, and it's caught.
at the 25 and he's hit down at the 19 finally wow what a catch there from late and scott with the tackle
and johnson i think that was johnson with the grab and a contested catch along the boundary
and all of the sudden lake geary is at the charger 20 to try to cut the lead back to the lead back
to 14. Clark in the gun.
Motion from Johnson from right
to left. Two backs in the backfield with Clark
to give to Mosley running right.
And he gets down,
hit down at the 21-yard line.
Evan Biennick on the tackle.
He was a loss.
Pallusay number 88,
Evan Yenick.
And
two-minute timeout.
Two-minute timeout for
for the chargers and Lake Erie.
So I have to go back a little bit.
Number one, the heater, I think, got turned off up here and I'm freezing.
Should have brought another coat.
Second thing.
Second quarter featured a punt return called back.
A kickoff return
brought all the way back to the end zone for Ruddy.
No flags on the play.
and now Lake Erie responds with a strip sack
So we go ahead Ted
A strip sack from Lake Erie
Brings it
Well I mean brings the game
To 217 and then the ruddy
The ruddy kickoff return makes it 28 to 7
Yes Ty
And I just received word up here in the booth
That that that kick return
Tied the career record for kick returns at Hillsdale
college. In 2005,
Cherka had four.
Shea now has four in his career.
So one more will give him a school record.
One more is the record.
We could very well see it in this ballgame.
That just is kickoff returns.
Not punt returns? Just kick returns.
So here we go. Lake Uri
at the Charger 21. Clark in the gun, mostly two is right,
two receivers to the near side, one to the far.
156 left in the first half.
Clark back, no, he's going to give to Mosley, running right,
and he's hit down by Jacob Bands at the 20-yard line.
No gain on the play.
And now it's a third down in 11.
That brings up third down on Surrogation.
You know what to do.
Wait for the program.
Hey, big.
Wow!
Third down and 10 yards to go.
Lake Erie at the Charger 20.
120 left in counting in the first half.
Hillsdale 28, Lake Erie 7.
And we have a timeout called on the field.
You know what?
We're going to take a timeout with him.
We'll be back in 30 seconds.

Welcome back to Frank Muddywater Stadium
on the beautiful campus of Hillsdale College.
I'm Ted.
he's tied
and there's 1 15 left in the
first half. Hillsdale leads Lake Erie
28 to 7 Clark
in the gun. Mosley 2 is right
it's a third down in 10 for
the storm at the charger
20. Two receivers to the far
side, two to the near. Clark
back to pass looking left
now right he's got pressure
from the backside oh man
he's got a
Mosley out in the flat but it falls
incomplete that could have then six
points there. That was
a little more oom from that ball
and mostly I think
is walking into the end zone.
And
with 107 left
in the first half
William
Batten is going to come on here
and kick
a field goal here
from the charger
27
which would make it a 37
yard attempt. 107 left
in the first half.
Hillsdale leads Lake Erie 28 to 7th.
So this would cut it to an 18-point lead.
And flags on the field.
The way of game, offense,
cognitive penalty, fourth down.
And a lot of,
what forced that incompletion on that last play
was a lot of great pressure from the defensive line.
Nobody quite got to Clark and brought him down,
but a couple of the defensive line
and had their hands on them, forced him to just kind of throw it away.
So now it's going to make batten attempt a 38, no, 35-yard field goal.
Snap good, hold good, kick is up, and man, that's good.
The Avamaria transfer cuts the lead to 18, the deficit to 18 rather.
So Hillsdale, 28, Lake Erie, 10.
101 left in the first half.
Now, folks, coming up, it's another Shea Ruddy kickoff return.
If you're Lake Erie, I think you just, you don't kick.
I don't think you kick to.
With the minute left in the half, it might be kind of squib or kick it to Metzger or something like that.
But we did mention he's got one more to go.
to break the school record.
One more to break the school record.
Right now he's tied for it with four.
And Ruddy trots out onto the field.
He's standing at the charger seven-yard line.
Batten counts out his steps.
101 left in the first half.
Baton trots up to kick it away, and it's a low-drive kick,
and he kicked it literally straight out of bounds.
at the charger 35.
About a 25-yard kick.
Not what they were looking for there.
Now with that penalty,
it is going to put the chargers at the 35, I believe.
Kick-off out of bounds.
That's a 5-yard penalty added to a spot of the kick.
First out.
So with three timeouts and some solid momentum from that last drive,
chargers are definitely looking to probably add some more points to the board here.
First down in 10 for the Chargers at the Hillsdale 40.
101 left in the first half.
McCurnin in the gun, Gishu to his right.
Ruddy and Metzger to the far side.
Kariko to the nearest side.
McCurnet, back to pass.
throws out to Gishu in the flat at the 35.
He sprints right past one linebacker and is hit down at the 49-yard line.
Chargers are going to have to be moving quick here.
The clock's running.
Now it's stopped at the 51 second.
Charge timeout, Hillsdale, their first.
First timeout for the charges,
which means they're going to have two timeouts left.
Please reset the game clock to 52 seconds.
And we have a little communication here between the referees
and the game clock manager who had a rough game game last week.
To be fair to him,
there was a drill sergeant for a referee last week.
But they didn't seem like they were on the same page very often.
Maybe that was two weeks ago.
It was last week.
Last week.
Oh, what it would be like to be a head ref.
It's a lot on your plate.
It is.
And refs get a lot of...
When you do your job, when you do your job,
People don't say thank you.
And when you don't do your job, people scream at you.
Definitely a thankless job, but someone's got to do it.
Second down in three.
Chargers at their own 47, 52 seconds left in the first half.
McCurnan rolls left, throws out to Ruddy at midfield,
and he gets out of bounds at the 51-yard line to get a first down.
Game of not 12 on the play, result.
A 12-yard.
game this didn't appear like it was 12 appeared like it was 5 that was was
12 that was a deceptively long game mccurnon and the gun gueshoe to his right
49 seconds left in the first half ruddy scura and pratt to the far side mccurin back to pass
looking right and now he's going to run he's to the 45 hurdles a man down to the 39 yard line
It wasn't really a hurdle.
It's more of like he hurtled his arm.
It's a skip.
Man, as a radio play-by-play announcer, I can just create all this information.
So Hillsdale was looking for the seam route up top.
I think they're going to take a shot to the end zone here.
Here we go.
38 seconds left.
First down in 10.
McCurnin, back to pass.
Throws, and it's caught by Skura at the Storm 33-yard line.
They take another timeout.
Charge timeout. Hills Hill
Their second of half.
Chargers is going to have one more.
So a pretty efficient drive from Hillsdale so far.
Started down around the 40
with 50-ish seconds left to go.
They're now driving up to the 33.
yard line with 32 seconds to go 32 seconds one time out left and you're at the storm 32 what's your game
plan here ted ferringer throw it to the end zone three times put it in 18's hand hands or number
one's hand hands i would agree with you you got one time out to give it's a second in five do you
throw one more ball to the middle of the field to kind of set up an easier fade route or do you
Do you take a strike here?
Crossing route over the middle.
You still have one time out, so the middle of the field's open here because you can stop the clock whenever.
Second down in five.
Chargers at the storm, 33-yard line.
32 seconds left in the first half.
McCurnet, back to pass.
Looking left, he's going to run.
And he gets hit down at the 23-yard line.
And a great decision there by McCurnon, who didn't see anything.
Chargers are going to have to go quick.
I'm sorry to interrupt, but it's moving rather quick here.
Looks like McCurnan's going to try to spike the ball and stop the clock, which he does.
But you're seeing Lake Erie in a cover three situation playing really deep off the ball.
And McCurna doesn't see anything downfield, so he just takes what's given,
and the charges have been moving steadily since.
And I think that's the right decision, especially after you said that you still got a timeout to give them.
They didn't even have to use it.
Here we go.
21 seconds left in the first half.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu, two is right.
Second down in 10.
They're at the storm 33, and he's got Andrew Kinesny over the middle and a touchdown.
A beautiful coverage bus there from Lake Erie.
An absolutely beautiful play design there.
They had a receiver in the bottom of the field who they just sort of ran off and then Kineski
with the seam route up the middle.
A coverage bust from the storm definitely helped, but he walked into the end zone to make it 3410 chargers.
34 to 10.
DeDario to make it 35.
Snap good, hold good.
Kick is up.
And DeDario's 5 for 5 on extra points.
And with 16 seconds left in the first half, we're going to take a break.

Welcome back
to Frank Moneywater's Stadium.
There's nine seconds left in the first half
The first half at Hillsdale College is dominated.
They lead Lake Erie 35 to 10.
And with nine seconds left, I'm assuming Lake Erie is going to come on out here and take a knee.
All right away back after 15 yard line after the favorable charge of bounce.
First and 10 for the storm with nine seconds to play.
Nine seconds left to play.
And as expected, Lake Erie is going to take a knee and going to half down.
down by 25.
And Clark takes a knee at the Lake Erie 13-yard line, and that's the end of the first half.
Chargers lead the storm 35 to 10.
You're listening to Radio Free Hillsdale.
We'll be back for second half action.
Welcome back to Frank Muddywater Stadium on the campus of Hillsdale College.
John Ted Ferringer alongside Me's Ty Ruddy.
Hillsdale leads Lake Erie 35 to 10
And the second half action is nearly underway here
At Frank Muddywater's Stadium

But for all the workers up here to give free pizza out
Which is always nice, the heaters rolling
So we are

we're warm
we're excited for the second half action

Back the history, Reddy for the Treasurer.
Badden trots up to the ball, and we're underway for a second half action.
Fielded by Ruddy at the goal line.
He's going to take it out.
He's up the 5 and the 10.
He makes a nice move.
He's to the 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, and he's hit down at the 45-yard line,
and there's a penalty marker at the 41-yard line.
brought down by

So we got a new quarterback in the game, Eli, Boyce Gishu in the backfield with him.
Metzger and Pratt to the far side.
It's a first down in 10 at the Charger 30.
Pitch out to Gishu and he gets to the 34.5 yard line.
I wonder what the rationale is with these quarterback changes.
I'm not sure.
I wonder if it's just the sort of thing where nothing else is working this season.
I mean, just sometimes if you change the scheme up, it keeps defense guessing.
I'm not sure.
Second down and six for the Chargers.
They're at their own 34, 14, 22 left, third quarter, quarterback run right.
Gishu is the leading blocker.
And Eli, Boyce makes a nice move up to the 42-yard line and moves the chains.
He's bigger than Colin McCurton, and I think he has better body awareness as well.
He made a really nice cut there at about the 38-yard line to avoid a storm secondary member.
6-3-195 redshirt freshman out of Holland.
Definitely they're more power QB.
First down in 10 for the Chargers.
Or not McCurnin.
Boyce under center.
They're at their own 42.
Boyce back to pass, rolls out left, has a man open.
And that was Gishu was open on the right side of the field, but it falls incomplete at the Lake Erie 40.
Nice rotation on that ball, but underthrown.
I don't think he got his feet set as he rolled left and then tried to throw back to the right.
There was some good vision there.
It was sort of a bootleg, and they sent everybody else on a flood route to try to get it back to Gishu on a sort of flat screen.
Just a little bit on the throne.
Second down and 10 for the chargers.
They're at their own 42.
Boyce in the gun.
Gishu 2 is right.
Three receivers to the far side.
It's a quarterback.
Keep running right.
Boyce makes a nice move with the 45.
Hit down at the charger.
Excuse me at the storm, 46, and moves the chains into Lake Erie territory.
Man, quick feet from the red shirt freshman from Holland, Michigan.
I've heard a lot of nice things about Western Michigan, the state.
beautiful over there along the
little puddle you guys call
an ocean or a great lake
I guess
Boyce in the gun
Gishu to his left
Kariko and Metzger to the far side
right to the near side first down in 10 at the
storm 46
Boyce back to pass has ruddy down the
boundary but it falls incomplete
underthrown
and voice had
pressure in his face
as he tried to
uncork a bomb there to ruddy
to add to a hat trick day for Shea Ruddy.
Second down in 10, 1252 left.
Third quarter, Hillsdale, 35, Lake Erie 10.
Chargers at the Lake Erie, 46.
Boyce in the gun, Yishu to his left.
Kinesny and Metzger to the far side, skirt of the near.
And Boyce is going to escape out of the pocket,
It makes one manniss and gets tripped up with the 41-yard line.
Third down and about, third down and medium.
Make it six yards to extend the drive for this red shirt freshman who's come in and really run a lot.
They've attempted two passes with them and either got tipped or one of them was underthrown.
So we'll see if they throw on this play.
We'll see what Coach Otterbine draws up.
Boyce in the gun, Gishu to his left.
Kinesnian ready to the far side.
Pratt to the nearest side.
Boyce looking left, throws, caught by Pratt.
And he's hit down at the 31-yard line, and that's enough for a first down.
Pratt.
Heardt by number two, it's an Anderson.
Anderson won the tackle, but not after.
A pickup of a first down there for the chargers, and with 1149 in count.
counting left in the third quarter. Chargers moving the ball. Two receivers to the near side and
Ruddy and Pratt. Boyce in the gun, Gishu to his right. First down in 10 at the Lake Erie 33,
Boyce back to pass, rolling right throws. He's got Kinesny across the middle and he's hit down
at the 22-yard line. Now I saw Kinesny walking around with a shoulder brace for the last two or three weeks,
So I'm a little surprised I see him in right now.
That's good that he's back healthy,
unless that's not Andrew Kinesny.
But I believe it is.
Yes, that is him.
That's him, 84.
Maybe he just got too tired.
He's tired of not playing.
Tide end room is not revamped with Kinesny back.
Boyce under center.
First down in 10 for the Chargers at the Lake Erie.
23.
And Gishu hit in the back field immediately.
He hits back to the line of scrimmage.
Maybe he gets one on the play.
Carrico checks into the game for Carson Slocum.
Slocum checks out.
William Carrico checks in.
William Carrico.
Excuse me.
It's a niche.
Niche pole.
That is a niche pool.
Incredibly niche reference.
Voice in the gone.
Gishu 2 is right.
Ready to the near side.
Carrico.
To the far side.
Second down in 10 for the charges of the Lake Erie.
It's a throwout to Davis in the flat, and the Adrian native is hit down at the 21-yard line.
Good job, Dougie.
Also a niche reference.
When you're friends with a lot of the football players, you get access to a lot of the niche nicknames.
And they called Colin Davis Dougie because he looks like the dog from up.
Third down and eight for the Chargers.
They're at the Lake Erie.
21, Boyce in the gun, Gishu 2 is right,
Ruddy to the nearest side,
Carico to the far side.
Boyce, back to pass, looking towards
Ruddy miscommunication.
Ruddy went on an in-breaking
route and the ball was thrown
for an outbreaking route and that's
going to make it fourth down and eight.
Big question here, do we kick
or do we throw?
I believe Hillsdale is going to
offense on the field.
With a 35 to 10 lead over the Lake Erie
Storm, it
It doesn't hurt to give the red shirt freshmen some experience.
So here we go.
Fourth down and eight.
Boyce in the gun, Gishu to his left, Skura and Kariko to the far side.
Metzker and Ruddy to the nearest side.
Boyce looking for Ruddy.
Now he's going to roll it to the right and he's just going to forfeit the play and run out of bounds.
So on a turnover on downs, Lake here he's going to get a stop.
3510, that's a 25 point deficit.
Is it possible?
Oh, yeah, it's possible.
28 to 3, 3 minutes left
in the Super Bowl. Who does it? Tom Brady does it.
Tom Brady can do it, anyone can do it.
Lake Erie can do it.
So we have to be careful.
And Lake Erie, if we remember that first
drive, move the ball pretty efficiently.
A costly interception
wiped all that off the board, but
they have moved the ball in this game.
In a counterintuitive move
here, they might actually run it more.
They might move more efficiently than throwing.
Clark in the gun.
mostly two is left two receivers to the far side to the near first down in ten they're at
their own 20 to give them mostly up the middle and he's tackled by drake drake bradger and
evan bianick at the 22 yard line second down and eight nine 20 left in counting in the ball game
i'm staring at the guy that films the games up on a i don't even know what you call
that thing of some kind man
Brady Clark in the gun.
Mosley to his right, trips to the far side.
Second down in eight, storm at the Rhone 28.
Clark sprint out right, throws caught by Johnson at the 35-yard line.
A diving grab from the sophomore, and it moves the chains for the storm.
Man, that kid looks cold up there.
It is a windy day, actually, if you get outside of the press box.
It's got to be windy, chilly up there, yeah.
Very dangerous, too.
During Brian Kelly's era, I think someone fell off.
Very interesting thing to be doing.
Clark, in the gun.
Back to pass.
First down at 10, they're at thrown 35.
He's still in the pocket maneuvering.
Pump fake and pressured by Vance.
He can't bring him down.
It falls incomplete.
Film's a big part of the game, though.
You need the film.
If you don't have film with football, I don't know what you do.
It's huge.
It's the sort of thing that,
These student athletes, whenever they're not eating, practicing, or doing homework, they're watching film.
My dad's alma mater is St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota, D3 Powerhouse.
And they never practiced with pads on ever.
Really?
Winning his coach, football history for college.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his right, three receivers to the nearest side.
Quarterback keep to the right.
and he gets past the 35, maybe to the 37-yard line.
So maybe you get rid of the film.
And rid of the pads, apparently.
If I was a football coach, that's a good segment.
If Ted was a football coach, I would, what would I do?
Remove all film.
All film?
All pads during practice.
We would run track workouts.
Third down and seven for the storm.
They're at their own 30.
Clark in the gun and Mosley in the backfield with them.
They look towards the sideline to see what the new play is.
They see something in that Hillsdale defense that they want to audible out of.
And now we've got two receivers to the far side, two to the near,
and a timeout's called on the field.
So it's purely track workouts if Ted Ferringer were the coach.
Well, I would run.
a very, very heavy spread offense.
I would be playing, I would run a football team that puts Chey Ruddy and like Tutt.
Like those are the guys.
And you expose people in space.
Okay.
I think fitness is a big thing of football that's overlooked.
Now, my scheme would probably work better for high school than college.
I think high school, if you're in a class B, class C school in the state of Nebraska,
and you're in a small town of 3,500 people, and there's only one school, that's money.
Because you get all the kids to go to the high school, you build a culture of no pads at practice.
Just at the game, you should hit right head up.
Wrestlers are always good tacklers because they learn to tackle their heads up.
I would put a lot of emphasis on fitness.
Yeah.
On a good diet, that's free of seed oils.
And good, really good fit workouts.
You've got to get those V-O-2 maxes up somehow.
Third down and seven.
Lake Erie at their own, 38, Clark in the gun.
Mosley, two is left, two receivers to the far side, two to the air.
Clark moves up in the pocket.
Throws God.
For a first down at the 48-yard line.
Dancing along the side line.
Allie, Lee, Lee.
Jr. with the grab, a little
toe drag and it moves the chains
and Lake Erie's kind of
hanging around.
Like a storm hovering over Lake
Erie, the lake, not the college.
Clark, empty
set. Pumpfakes on the
screen, now moves up in the pocket
and man. Excellent pressure
from the chargers there. Evan Beannick,
Luke Panola on the tackle. Beannick
really hit him hard there.
Those are two guys
that would not want to get hit by individual.
probably even less so
6.42 left in the
third quarter. Clark and Mosley looking
towards the sidelines. Second down in six.
Lake Erie's at
their own 49. Chargers
35, the storm 10.
Clark in the gun, Mosley
to his right.
Three receivers in the game, one to the
far side, two to the near.
Clark
back to pass, play action, looking for
Johnson over the middle. He's got
Ollie over the middle. He's got
all the middle. The
middle and it's incomplete and flags fly.
So McCarthy,
Andrew McCarthy
was beat by
Ali Lee on the play
and the ball was underthrown
in the classic situation where the ball's
underthrown and the receiver comes back to get the ball
and you hit them down.
That's going to be PI 100% of the time.
100 times. It's a good call. It's a tough situation
for the DB.
Now, we have some
discussion here with the Hillsdale coaching
staff and the sideline umpire
who I told
that the pregame walking around the field
that he had the best flow in the game
trying to butter up these refs
so first down in 10
Lake Erie at the charger 34
its play action no
to give to Mosley and he burst forward
to the 32 yard line
605 left third quarter
there's
penalty marks
marker at the 36-yard line.
On the offense, five-pen in the backfield to five-yard penalty.
Lake Erie had the same penalty in the first half, and they insist on putting five personnel
in the backfield.
Hold for the second time.
Getting a little fancy there.
So first and 15 for the storm.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his left, two receivers to the far side, two.
of the near 5.53 left and counting
in the third quarter.
Motion from
Ali. From right to left.
Clark back to pass.
Throws out to Mosley in the flat.
Incomplete.
Overthrown.
That's a dangerous overthrow
because that was basically parallel
with the line of scrimmage, but
a little bit more touch on that
ball, maybe a little bit more of a swing.
That thing might have been going the other way
as a fumble.
Second down in 15.
The storm are in-charger territory at the Hillsdale, 39.
Chargers lead the storm, 35 to 10.
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his left.
One receiver to the near side, two to the far.
Clark back to pass, looking left.
And he's sacked in the backfield.
By Njorgi on the...
The freshman.
And Jorogi.
In the backfield.
from Houston, Texas on the tackle.
And it's going to push the storm back all the way to the Charger, 49.
It's third down, Cherpernation.
Clark has been slippery all day for the defense lines.
So a great job there, my Georgie, to wrap them up in one go.
Clark, in the gun.
Mosley, rather, to his left.
motions out in the flat.
No, it's a throw to Ali at the 51, and he's tackled from behind by Evan Bionnick at the 43-yard line.
And now we got a fourth.
That was a third and 25.
It's going to end up being about a fourth and a...
17-ish.
19.
And William Batten is going to trot on here to punt it away for the...
the storm and, ooh, back deep.
Shea Ruddy.
What's his middle name?
Campbell.
Campbell.
Like the soup.
Shea Campbell, Ruddy back deep, standing at his own 10.
Batten, high punt.
Fair caught called by Ruddy and downed at the 8.
So will we see Eli Boyce or we're going to see McCurna and we are going to see McCurton?
McCurnin.
First and ten for the Chargers.
They're going to have to drive 92 yards to add to this 25-point lead.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu 2 is left,
Ruddy and Carrico to the far side, Pratt to the near.
408 left in the third quarter.
It's a fake pitch out to Gishu and McCurnan just fights straight up the gut for a couple.
Hillsdale really trusting their quarterbacks this week to do it themselves.
A lot of quarterback draws in the game plan for Hillsdale this week.
Trying something a little bit new.
Second down and six.
McCurton in the gun, Gishu.
Okay, pal.
Second down in six for the Chargers.
It's a give to Gishu running left.
He makes a cut at the 15.
Hurdles a man at the 20 and hit down at the 20.
three yard line.
Yeah, and he got hit mid-air.
Put him off balance a little bit.
Matt Sker checks in for Carrico.
Carrico checks out.
312 and counting left in the third quarter.
Sometimes it's nice when teams run the ball.
McCurnan in the gun, ruddy to his left,
Gishu to his right.
One receiver in the game,
it's scuro to the near side.
give to guichey running right he's got a big hole that then closed immediately a big and he's hit the line of scrimmage
hit the long of scrimmage they had two tight ends in the game and they had nice opening there but
the safety came flying down and filled that hole rather quickly we we've got slocum and davis in the game
with scura and ruddy at the far side as receivers so
Definitely a heavy, a run heavy package right now.
McCurnan in the gun, Gishu two is left, second down in nine, charges at the throne 24.
McCurnan rolls left, looking, looking, throws incomplete intended for Colin Dougie Davis.
And now it's a third down in nine.
Metzger, Carico, check back in.
Slocum checks out along with Davis.
They're going to take the two tight ends out and exchange him.
for two receivers.
Obvious passing situation at third and nine yards to go.
A lot of skill on the field right now.
I'll bet you five bucks it's a throw.
McCurner in the gun, Gishu, two is left.
Three receivers to the far side.
Kerrico, Metzger, Ruddy, Skura to the near side.
Two-16 left, third quarter.
It's intended for Skura, and it's near a first down.
He's hit down at the 31-5-yard line.
It'll be really close.
So what do you do now?
Go for it on your own 32, or punt it away.
with Ian Woodyard.
Tot wants to go for it.
The coaches are waving them over.
Looks like they may think about this one.
And they're going to punt it away.
Ian Woodyard.
Trots on to punt this one away for the chargers.
Back deep for Lake Erie.
Curtis Thomas.
Woodyard standing at his own
17-yard line.
Thomas standing at his own
30 motion from Carico
and we've got a flag
on the field
and a delay of
and a delay of game
and a delay of game
grabs the
special teams coordinator of Hillsdale
his voice amplifies it across the stadium
he was not happy
at all. Best special teams
unit in the country is Notre
I mean, they do stuff that you can't even imagine that they do.
We'll have to talk about that later.
Woodard now backed up to inside the 15 and line drive punt straight to midfield and then it just took a hard turn to the left.
Landed out of bounds.
Did you watch the Georgia Notre Dame game semifinal where Notre Dame had their offense on for a fourth and won at their own 20 yard line?
And then in 30 seconds they trotted out the entire offense and then, sorry, I explained this round.
They had the punt team out.
Then they trotted out the offense and then they got Georgia to jump.
I mean, the stuff you can do with special teams to win games, if you're good at it, it really changes games.
Yeah, for sure.
Clark empty set.
Five receivers in the game.
Three to the near side.
Two to the far.
First down in 10 at midfield.
Motion from Mosley.
from right to left, and man, the whistles have been, and flags have been flying the last couple of minutes.
Hillsdale, they're first of the half.
So Hillsdale burns her first time out.
We're going to take a time out with them.
You're listening to Charger Football right here on Radio Free Hillsdale.
I'm Emma Wehrman, welcoming you to Far East Close Up, where we provide Westerners of front row seat to the customs, cultures, and everyday life in East Asia.
Today, we talk about the history of the ninja.
Ninjas were covert agents in feudal Japan known for espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination.
The word for ninja in Japanese is Shinobi.
Shinobi were trained in ninjitsu, which is the art of stealth.
And they were most prominently used during the Sengoku period from 1467 to 1600, as this was a time of much civil war and social upheaval in Japan.
While the ninja was characterized by stealth and adaptability, he did not achieve this with a black suit.
Instead, he dressed like monks or peasants to blend in.
Though ninjas of history no longer exist,
there are still modern-day practitioners of ninjitsu
who choose to study martial arts, stealth, and espionage techniques.
I'm Emma Weirman, and this has been Far East, close up.
On Radio Free Hillsdale, 101.7 FM.
In the gun, they're at Nidfield.
11 left in the third quarter.
Mostly two is right.
Three receivers in the game, one to the far side,
to the near. Clark back to pass looking left. Badger. And he's sacked in the backfield by
Bianick and Badger. On that play, Drake Badger fell to his knees in his initial rush and still
blew past the offensive line for the sack on Clark. A 10-yard loss is going to make it a second
down in 20 for Lake Erie. Push him all the way back.
back to their own 40. 39 seconds left and counting in the third quarter. Hillsdale 35 Lake Erie 10.
Clark in the gun, empty set, motion from Mosley from left to right. Three receivers to the far side, one to the near.
Clark back to pass, looking to the near. Caught. And he's hit out of bounds by O'Brien at the 48-yard line. Johnson on the reception.
The gain of nine is going to make it a third and 11 for Hill.
Hillsdale. And that's going to bleed it out unless of the third quarter, unless Lake Erie's going to get another playoff.
Enties set. Three receivers to the far side, two to the near. Clark in the gun. And that's the end of the third quarter.

Now he's rolling out to the right at the 40.
And he's hit down at the 46-yard line.
Great pursuit there by the freshman.
Unbelievable effort.
And Gerogi.
On the pursuit.
Man, he hit him back to 35 and spurred it all the way across the field to get him at the 50-yard line.
and with that, Lake Geary's going to go for it here, folks.
Fourth down and seven.
They're at the charger, 47.
Clark in the gun, Mosley, two his left, two receivers to the far side, one to the near.
Floyd's shown from Panola and Vance.
Hillsdale, 35, Lake Erie 10, 14, 13 left in the ball game.
Clark, back to pass, looking left, he's got him.
It's incomplete.
A graduate of Marquette Prep, had a sister.
graduated from Notre Dame and was a
national champion
pentathlon. Really?
Yeah, actually went to the game
October 11th and she was on the field.
Wow. They honored her.
Like I know her. A really athletic family.
But I don't know her. Yes, very athletic family.
I believe he went to school with another Hillsdale athlete
whose name slips my mind at the moment.
Pete McDevitt. Pete McDevitt.
First down at 10 for the Chargers at their own 47.
McCurnin and the gun. He's going to give it to
geishu up the middle and he fights to midfield.
Whoa, folks.
Nebraska is bowl eligible for the second year in a row.
Disappointing loss to Minnesota last week.
I lost like every week.
Insanity is doing the same thing over again and expecting a different result.
I expected the scurs to at least get by Minnesota.
That was just terrible, man.
But they beat Northwestern this week, 2821.
So look at that.
Huskers are going to go bowling.
In complete pass there.
In and out of Slocum's hands.
Carson Slocum on the grab.
It was really, really violent hit by Lake Erie secondary.
He's very lucky to be getting up.
Yeah, and Slocum's going to take a breather on this play.
Third down in eight.
Chargers at their own 49.
13, 25 left.
In the ball game, they lead Lake Erie, 35 to 10.
McCurnan and the gun, Gishu, two is left.
Three receivers to the far side.
McCurnan, back to pass.
Looking, looking, throws incomplete behind his receiver in scura,
and the ball falls incomplete at the 40-yard line.
And it looks like the chargers are kind of hitting a little bit of a rough patch here
with some offensive possessions.
Scoreless in the third quarter.
That is something of note.
I believe it was a zero-zero third quarter.
That is correct.
As in Lake Erie didn't score either.
Yeah.
But, yeah, the Chargers sort of hitting a wall offensively here.
Pucking away for the second time in a row.
Ian Woodyard standing at his own 35.
Thomas Back, Deep to receive, standing at his own 15 low punt.
It bounces at the Charger 25.
And we have a tussle here, folks.
Between Colin Davis?
Colin Dougie Davis and another guy on the special teams from Lake Erie.
We will get you the identity of the Lake Erie guys.
Number 45 was in a rather rambunctious wrestling match there at the 35 yards.
It got violent before the play even ended.
It looked like Colin had his arm behind his body.
the kicking team number 89 on this air roughness personal foul on the receiving team
number 27 on necessary roughness those penalties will offset first down okay um so lots of unpacked
there a lot's one pack when i saw it Carl Davis had his arm behind his back so Colin must have been
he must have been non-aggressor
And it was Cost Davis, number 27, who came in and defended his tight end and got called for an unsportsman like after the play.
They had all the numbers wrong.
It was 53 and 80.
There was no 27 in there.
Okay.
Davis and 53 were in a very intense wrestling match in someone's arm, I believe, Blake Erie guy's arm was behind his back in like a chicken wing.
It was a very...
Really odd situation there.
Very odd situation happening at the 30-yard line.
So the offsetting penalties is going to give Lake Erie no yardage,
and they're going to be put at, well, good pun for me in Woodyard.
It's going to put them at their own five.
13-11 left in the ball game.
Chargers are leading Lake Erie, 35 to 10.
We have a bit of a stoppage here as the coach of Lake Erie's talking.
Coach Rice is talking to the head umpire about what just happens.
So Brady Clark is now standing at his own goal line with Mosley to his left.
Two receivers to the near side.
They're at their own five.
Clark back to pass.
Looking, looking throws.
And it's incomplete.
should have been intercepted.
Clark was hit as he was throwing the ball
and it was a wobbler up in the air
falling down at the 20
and a Hillsdale College
secondary member could not come down with it.
It was Nolan Strachie nearly had his hands on it.
It fell incomplete.
So second down in 10.
Lake Erie at their own five.
Cook in the gun.
Mosley to his left.
Two receivers to the nearest.
one to the far back to pass and he's immediately Johnson's immediately hit at the nine third down and medium Panola checks in
in Caden Evans checks out Caden Evans checks out third down here we go third down in seven lake geary at their own eight
Cook in the backfield with mostly two his left, two receivers to the far side, one to the near.
He's back to pass, he's hit, but it's caught by Johnson at the 19-yard line.
That's enough for a first down after Brady Cook was rocked on that play as the ball was released.
Drake Badger nearly had a...
Well, probably a sack causing fumble to make it third.
32 point game, but no. Cook gets it out in time. So now here we go. Cook in the gun.
Mosley, two is left, two receivers in the near side, one to the far, first down in 10. They're at their own 18.
Cook, back to fast. He's sacked in the back field. It's Badger again. Drake Badger.
On the sack is going to put Clark all the way back to the storm four.
6-3-262 pounds
Just put the storm back even further
One receiver to the near side
One to the far
Clark in the gun, Mosley to his left
Second down in a Walmart parking lot
A 22-yard Walmart parking lot
Clark rolling right
Pursued by Injorgie
And he's going to outrun him
and get hit out of bounds of the 14 yard line.
Scott Eaton on the pursuit.
Good job from the sophomore.
He's a fast dude.
He's a good athlete.
Probably the most athletic, defensive guy in the game right now,
and then he just got subbed out.
But, man, great pursuit by him.
Highly, highest.
How did it recruit in the class?
And then Tutt.
Is that true?
That's what I was told.
Third down at 15.
Lake Erie,
at their own 13.
10 minutes left in the ball game.
Clark back to pass.
Pressured by Badger.
He spins out of it,
and he throws it out of bounds.
And it's...
Now it's fourth in 15.
And on come.
Punt unit.
And it's hit by a Lake Erie player at the 47-yard line.
9.51 left in the ball game.
On comes Eli, Boyce.
I wonder if we'll see Pete McDevitt at all this game.
Pete McDevitt, a state, two-time state champion quarterback out of Wisconsin.
He is another member of the sophomore class.
But so far, it's Eli Boyce, the Dutchman from Holland.
He's in the gun.
Gishu, too, is right.
9.51 left in the ball game.
Boyce running right makes a cut, and he fights up to midfield.
Just pretty run-heavy quarterback.
Four Hillsdale on the quarterback keeper of two.
Well, there's one person who likes to see these runs.
It's got to be Dr. Arne.
He used to be a defensive lineman in the state of Arkansas back in the day.
You know, probably all this new progressive football.
Probably does not make him happy.
It was three yards in the cloud of dust when he was playing.
Second down in eight.
Chargers at midfield play action.
Boy, steps up in the pocket.
And he's pressured and dragged down.
Oh, that did not look good at the 45.
He's okay.
It looks like, man, those situations where the knee gets stuck in the ground.
So it's going to be third down in 13, or 3ces, they say in Spanish.
848 left in the ball game. Hillsdale 35, Lake Erie 10.
And the Lake Erie safeties are playing really shallow again.
Boyce in the gun.
Gishu 2 is right, three receivers to the far side, voice running right,
he's thrown down at the 41.
I think Lake Erie knows, this kid's in the game.
It's going to be run a lot of the time.
So we're going to play really, really shallow.
And with that, it's going to bring up a fourth down in 16.
Chargers at their own 42.
Eckler back deep to receive.
Woodier standing at his own 28-yard line.
that by Likens. It's a low punt, but it gets actually some decent air. Oh, bounces at the 20,
hits a Lake Erie player, kicked up by Echler, and he gets out to the 20, no, to the 17-yard line.
And now we're going to see a lot new faces in the ball game. Good coverage there by Trachett.
So bear with me, folks, we have, Ty will do that. Ty will find the names. I'm trying to look right now.
We have Ryan Ruddy is coming in.
Layton Scott has seen some playing time.
PJ O'Brien.
Corbin Creecen.
No, the other Creson.
One of the Creson twins.
Christian Creson's in the game as a safety.
So that's some of the new names here.
First down in 10 for Lake Erie at their own.
17.
Clark in the gun.
Mosley, two is left.
Two receivers to the near side.
Two to the far.
Ryan Ruddy's showing blitz.
No, he's going to drop in coverage.
It's a throw across the middle and tackle by Ryan Ruddy.
It's a 21-yard line.
Means with the grab.
And Lil Ruddy with the tackle.
So second down in five.
Lake here trying to pick up the pace at the run 22.
Clark back to pass, looking left.
And he's sacked in the backfield once again.
by three separate chargers
Drake Badger.
Evan Beannick.
Parker Hart.
Parker Hart is in on the sack
and it looks like everybody's going to have a little half sack
on the sat sheet.
Third down.
Not in 12, six minutes and 30 seconds left
in the ball game motion from johnson clark back to pass gift to johnson in the flat and he gets
hit the backfield and it's ryan ruddy ryan ruddy adam erode county
audible lake whiteford he's been to ford field they're going to know he came to ford field
i imagine that was ryan ruddy before the state championships he didn't sleep for seven days
And now batting on to punt this one away, standing his own two,
but they're not going to put a substitute in to receive this punt.
It's Shea Ruddy back deep at midfield.
Oh, a good punt.
It's going to take Lake Erie bounce and roll down to the charger.
43-yard line.
The charges are looking to turn things around a little bit from that third quarter.
And so far, scoreless fourth quarter as well, hitting a little bit of a wall offensively, as we said.
Sitting with a 25-point lead.
We like to see all gas, no break.
Yes.
McCurnan's back in, though.
They might have backup stand for defense, but not offense.
McCurnet, in the gun, Tadler, in the backfield with him.
Brad to the nearest side
Metzger to the far
give to no
that's Riffle up the middle
he gets to the 48 yard line
48 of the charger
of the chargers
and a six yard gain is going to set up
a second down in four
five 30 left in counting in the ball game
mcernan in the gun
Riffel two is right
two receivers to the far side
one to the near second down in four
Hillsdale 35, Lake Erie 10. Nice move there from Riffle and he's going to fight to midfield.
Looks like Hillsdale actually is bringing in some backups, especially in the offensive line.
Zach Affalter, the younger brother of Nick and Ben, one of whom was an All-American last year,
a solid foundation for that offensive line last year.
Their younger brother in that right guard.
Sorry, in that center.
A couple new receivers in the game, too, for Hillsdale.
So sharing the love on offense, too.
McCurnan in the gun.
Riffel 2 is right.
Third down and 1.
430 left in the ball game.
They're at the Charger 49.
It's a quarterback keep all the way.
And McCurney gets down to the 45-yard line.
Of Lake Erie.
Chargers are in Storm Territory.
First down, Chargers.
And that's a first down for the Chargers.
McCurn and the gun, Riffel 2 is right, two receivers to the far side.
First down in 10, they're at the Lake Urie 45.
Fake pitch to Riffle.
Quarterback, keep all the way from McCurton.
He gets down to the 30.
A seven-yard line and more substitutes coming in.
Tettler checks in for Riffle.
Second down two for Hilltale.
Senior Noah Lyrick checks in that tight end for the charges.
Noah Lerick has a 4.0 as a biochemistry major.
McCurner in the gun.
Tettler in the back field with him.
It's a give to Tettler up the middle.
Nice move from him.
Runs over a defender.
Nice burst to speed from the junior and he gets down to the Lake Erie 27-yard line.
First down, Chargers.
It's a first down for the Chargers.
Two 50 left in the ball game.
Hillsdale 35, Lake Erie, 10.
McCurnan in the gun,
Tettler in the backfield with him.
To give to Tettler running left
and he's immediately hit in the backfield
to the 30-yard line.
Good for nothing at that time.
And we are getting down to the two-minute warning.
Joe Schmidt checks in for Noel Eric.
And it looks like Hillsdale's intent on running this clock down to the two-minute warning.
And that'll be it.
Two-minute warning, folks.
You're listening to Charge Your Football right here on Radio Free Hillsdale.
We'll get you back for the last two minutes of action between Lake Erie and Hillsdale College.
It's The Making of America from the Jefferson Media Group.
At 512 a.m. on April 18, 1906, San Francisco suffered a massive earthquake killing 3,000,
people destroying 25,000 buildings and leaving a quarter million residents homeless.
Resulting fires ranged unchallenged for four days and nights due the broken water mains and
exploding gas pipes. The earthquake shook the ground as far away as Oregon, Nevada, and Los Angeles.
The San Francisco police mobilized throughout the city to protect people and properties with a
standing order to shoot looters on site. Out of the ashes, city planners used the disaster to
rebuild San Francisco from the ground up. And that is exactly what they did.
This has been the Making of America. I'm Michael Emerson. And you can visit us at
Jeffersonmediagroup.com. Welcome back to Frank Muddywater Stadium for the final two minutes
to action between the storm of Lake Erie and the chargers of Hillsdale College.
I'm Ted Ferringer alongside me's tie ruddy. McCurn and in the gun, Teller, Suez
right, two receivers to the far side, one to the near, two minutes left in the ballgame.
Hillsdale 35, Lake Erie 10.
Quarterback sprint out to the right.
McCurnin, it's a quarterback run all the way.
Man, huge collision over there.
Johnathan That'sker blocking a guy.
And he landed right on McCurton, who's still down.
Now he finally gets to his feet.
A little banged up there, though.
McCurnum's going to come out.
He calls for a sub.
Eli Boyce checks into the game.
see if they
they give Eli
Boyce a little bit more chances
to throw the ball. It's been a lot
of runs so far.
119 left and counting.
Boyce in the game. Tettler 2 is left.
Give to Tetler up
the field. He gets hit down
at the 28-yard
line. It'll be
a fourth down and long.
Another scrum after the play.
really kind of a chippy game.
It's unfortunate. With a minute left on the clock and counting, you really don't want any injuries.
And unsports and like conduct penalties are just not a good look for the program.
49, 48, 47 seconds left.
Man, they better keep an eye on the play clock unless they're just intent on taking the delay of game and leave.
Frank Muddywater Stadium with a 25 point victory over Lake Erie.
Well, let's look ahead.
Next week, November 1st, Hillstill travels to Thomas Moore.
And Lake Erie goes to Ohio Dominican.
That charger game will be at noon.
They're 2 and 5.
They're going to prove to 3 in 5.
In the last two seasons, they finished 6 in 5 with a late kind of positive finish to season that didn't start out well.
And if they win today, which they did, three and five, next week against Thomas Moore, four and five, Walsh, five and five, Ohio, Dominican, six and five.
It's going to do the same story.
It's going to be the end of a three-year kind of script that I've been witnessing.
And with that, 33 seconds left on the clock, charge your offense, going to try out on the field, Boyce Under Center.
Tetler in the backfield to pitch out to him and he gets hit down at the line of scrimmage at the 28.
And that was a fourth and 11th, so turnover on downs.
Turnover on downs is going to bring Clark out to close out this ball game.
And Lake Erie goes back to Painesville, one and eight.
One and seven, rather.
Some trumpet in the pet band is just absolutely demolishing this piece.
Man, it's just him.
You get one solo in your football career.
You might as well run with it.
That was beautiful.
Beautiful job at the Hillsdale College pet band.
Nice to them to come out and play for this atmosphere.
Very nice.
A lot of talented musicians on this campus.
I want to thank Lily Fay Kramer.
And Mr. Bertram's son and Mr. Bertram for all that they did today,
I don't know your name, Mr. Bertram's son.
But thank you for running the board.
It's always nice to have people helping out with the operation.
I know Dr. Hutchins probably wasn't listening to the broadcast.
He was emailing Ty RundiS separately about the tie running magic.
We want to thank Dr. Hutchinson for just coming to the game.
We got confirmation that his name is Alex.
So Alex, thank you very much.
And that'll do it from Frank Moneywater Stadium.
Hillsdale College improves a 3-5 with this 35 to 10 victory over the lake-eary storm.
Next week they head to Thomas Moore.
The next and final home game in the season will be November 15th
against Ohio Dominican right here on Radio Free Hillsdale
at 1 p.m. It's Ted Ferringer and
Ty Routy. Signing off.
